Barbecue restaurant

Bar & grill
The Old Wagon Saloon & Grill is a spacious tavern with Wild West decor and an outdoor patio, serving up burgers, ribs, Texas BBQ, and beer. It's a popular spot for college students and those looking to enjoy oversized mugs during happy hour from 3pm to 6pm every day. The venue features plenty of TVs for watching sports, live music on weekends, and historic charm in its building.
I came here about 3:40pm..... very few patrons..... but let me tell you...... omg food..... the fries were good and even better with that little dish of house sauce..... the baked beans are definitely a house recipe if you ask me..... and blend very well with the cornbread..... which was also soft and moist...... and the main attraction? The spare ribs..... I can say this..... a lil bit of paradise in each fall off the bone bite..... o can say I haven't had ribs like these in a long long time.....fantastic job to the cook..... and to the owner..... don't change a thing..... enjoy!!!!!
Richard S — Google review
My recommendation is to avoid this place and go somewhere else, anywhere else. The food is dog meat at best. Brisket lacked on every level (Thin, dry, covered with a thin, peculiar tasting barbeque sauce), the ribs were extremely over cooked, dry as can be (you can snap the meat in half). The meat (both brisket and ribs) tasted like it was microwaved. The atmosphere (which has incredible potential) and vibe is lacking anything desirable. The service was poor. If you are going to be a waiter/waitress engaging with you customers is key. When someone says they are going to head to the bar to look at the whiskey selection (and you do just that), the next question or engagement should be: "What whiskey can I get you?" I would imagine this also increases the bill which generally increases the tip, (but only if a nice tip is deserved). Zero mention of any whiskey or another recommended beverage. Spend your money and time elsewhere.
Shaun V — Google review
Vibe’s got that laid-back Western BBQ feel, and the staff keeps it easygoing. But the food? Straight-up Chili’s level. Solid local hangout, just not worth crossing town for.
Terry M — Google review
The service was well done. The heated up food was so-so. The brisket was dry and dated. I sent it back and it was less dry but still dated.
Pegerita K — Google review
We dropped by the Old Wagon Saloon to catch some college football action and enjoy some food and drinks. Seated at the bar, the bartender provided excellent service. We opted for beers and Paloma cocktails. In terms of food, we ordered extra crispy garlic fries, chicken wings with sweet and spicy sauce, the shrimp Louie salad, and an assortment of barbecue meats including ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Our top picks were the wings, pulled pork, and the Shrimp Louie. The Western ambiance added to the chill vibe of the place. Situated adjacent to San Pedro Square, there's a parking structure conveniently across from the restaurant. It's a great spot to watch games, although the TVs at the bar are a bit too high. Your best bet is to sit in the middle of the restaurant to have access to screens on both sides of the walls.
Liz P — Google review
Really nice bar in San Pedro square. They have good beer, excellent service and the burgers and fries are awesome!
Bijan S — Google review
Food was very basic. Ordered a Chipotle fried chicken sandwich with cheese and there was no Chipotle to be found. Brisket was bland and looked old...service was okay. Our server was nice but not tentative and did not check in once. Would not come back unless it was just for drinks. Cool vibes inside and out but not a good place for food service
Yesenia C — Google review
I've had bbq all around the country...this was one of the worst tasting bbq I've ever had. Tritip looked like it was frozen and then heated up too quickly and tasted like it too...white meat, no rings. They put a sauce on it that tasted like thin gravy, not bbq Brisket was overcooked or tasted like they just added bbq sauce to yesterday's meat. The server was nice, but there was only one other person inside. Cornbread was good. Albondigas soup was good.

New American restaurant
Bar
Event venue
SP2 Communal Bar + Restaurant is a trendy downtown eatery with a rustic-chic ambiance, offering elevated American cuisine and craft cocktails. The spacious outdoor patio and stylish interior emit cosmopolitan charm, making it an upscale dining destination. Executive Chef Paul Nuno curates a locally-sourced dinner menu, perfect for brunch or special occasions. The venue accommodates private parties of various sizes, with the option to rent the entire space.
Amazing experience. We were walking around and passed by this place. Unfortunately, they were not open at this time, but we came back during opening hours. So glad we came back because we would’ve spent the entire night here. It was fantastic. The stimulating conversation from Link, Don and Lex with their input on what to see and what to visit while in San Jose was phenomenal. Will 100%… no will 110% come back here. The food superb, the drinks phenomenal and the atmosphere perfection. Highly recommend.
Kat C — Google review
The place is generally very happening every time I have passed by so finally tried it. I do not appreciate that they make their waitresses wear skimpy clothes, especially more so in the winter. Like why!? You will do just fine with having them warmly dressed. I would give this place a 5 star if not for this. I did love the cocktail I got, it was a coffee one and so good. There was a huge block of ice in the middle and then the drink around it. So no ice chunks weirdly coming in your mouth, and the drink was so smooth and tasty!
Nidhi B — Google review
Consider this place more of a bar than a restaurant. Place was simple but cute. Had an open floor concept to it. Food: it was okay. Not the best, but it wasn’t the worst. Cocktails were well made. They delivered what and how they needed to deliver! 🙃 Service: Super friendly staff! However, cleaning the kitchen (spraying, wiping, brooming, mopping, etc) while still cooking food orders cannot be sanitary!!!! 🫠 Ambience: DJ was on point! Definitely would go back on a late spring or summer day/night just for cocktails. Parking: available either in nearby structures or meter street parking.

Since the day this place opened. It has been a delight. Definitely on the list of some of the best happy hour in downtown San Jose. Consistency is king and with this spot consistency is on point. Everything from the sticky ribs to their warm burrata cheese, the food is great. I understand there. Chef is very talented and is indeed keeping the bar high. Happy hour drinks are a good deal, and if you get there early enough, you can find a seat at the bar or outside on the covered patio. I’m glad they’ve survived and are still doing great things.
Carl F — Google review
I’m not even sure how this place deserves a one star 🤦🏻‍♀️. Paid over 2k for bottle service to celebrate my sister in laws birthday. We were told we can go out to change clothes and come back as long as we had a stamp. Came back 5 mins later and was told my husband and I could not come back in due to the “manager” saying we could not re-enter I said there must be some misunderstanding and asked to please speak to the manager and the security was so rude (one with ponytail and septum piercing). We were told to leave and come back another time! Completely ridiculous! Definitely bring your service elsewhere!
Chelsey C — Google review
Don't bother to go here! Our brunch experience was horrible. Where do I start! We were given dinner menu first despite confirming about the menu. Service is super slow, our orders weren't taken for the longest time. The waitress forgot to get our mains. Food lacked seasoning and tasted bland. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.
Prajakta C — Google review
Food was okay. I'm disappointed in the quality. I used to come here nearly every week. The oysters were flavorless. The ribs... What happened?!? I used to order 2-3 servings if these to take home. The pork belly was disappointing. The burrata and beet salad were the best part. Chicken wings were cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the smokey chili rub. The worst part? It took HALF AN HOUR to get the bill. I wish I were exaggerating. Never again.

Great spacious bar away from the crowd of the main dtsj strip. High quality food. Good servers good people. Some of the bartenders are rude not very friendly. Overall great places. Good dj with lives music on weekends. Clean. Small bathroom long lines.

Bar
Trial's Pub is a laid-back British pub that serves a variety of draft beers and bar bites. The pub is also known for its history, which includes serving as headquarters for the United Farm Workers in the 1970s and 1997.
Their on-tap beer was really good!

Wonderful Experience at Trails Pub in San Jose! Trails Pub in San Jose is a gem that should not be missed. Whether you're looking for a delicious meal, a relaxed atmosphere, or a great selection of drinks, this place has it all. Nice beers on tap, loved the Smithwicks. My partner had Dragon's Slayer. We wanted to play darts, and you can just request darts from the amazing bartender. I can't wait to return and try more of their offerings.

Generous pours of a diverse set of beers, ranging from wheat to stouts. And then the combinations thereof. Had a chill Friday evening here and got a ploughman's plate, though one of the cheeses was a bit fungal. Decent prices & friendly staff. We took vta here, but parking might be possible on nearby streets.

The food is underrated here. Everything from the curry dish to the mozzarella sticks is delicious. Fair price and good portions. Very welcoming and laid back atmosphere.

This is a nice cosy little English pub. No loud music making it possible to have actual conversations. They have a nice little fireplace as well. Their chicken pot pie with salad is amazing. As for their beer I recommend the Dragon Slayer. 😊

Everything was 🔥 delicious very fast service and amazing quality food. It's been a while since I had a good mole enchiladas. Guacamole and salsa 😋 🔥 I couldn't get enough. Will go back again when I am around the area. Highly recommend. 🔥 🔥 🔥

We've gone here a few times and have enjoyed it. We came once during happy hour and it was great because the margarita's are really quite tasty and they were nicely discounted! The sauce flavors here are spot on. They've really done a great job developing balanced quality flavors. The portions are generous and the food is fresh. The server had some issues with the orders and messed up a few things but it was really busy so we tried to understand. They are slow but the presentation is nice. The mushroom quesadilla is soooo good! I don't think anyone was disappointed with their food and there were 9 of us the first time. We will definitely be back for more. ❤️
Angie A — Google review
From start to finish, the service was incredible — Parvis and Chase went above and beyond to make us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. They were friendly, attentive, and made the whole night feel easy and enjoyable. The food was just as impressive — especially the octopus dish, which was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. You can tell a lot of care goes into every plate here. Highly recommend Olla Cocina for anyone looking for great food, a warm vibe, and truly top-notch service. I’ll definitely be back!
Daniel N — Google review
We recently hosted an event at Olla Cocina with over 50 attendees, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff were warm, professional, and incredibly hospitable, helping everything run smoothly from setup to closing. The food was delicious—especially the birria—and guests raved about the flavors all night. The space itself had the perfect atmosphere for our intimate celebration honoring both graduating college seniors and alumni during our annual reunion. Olla was the ideal venue to bring our community together, and we’re grateful for the care and attention the team showed throughout the evening. Highly recommend for group events or special occasions!
GeroNeal — Google review
Lovely Mexican restaurant in the heart of San Jose. The tacos were tasty. Our group also share some chips and guacamole and the chips were on point. Drinks were great; they have a lot of variety. Our server Mateo was patient, attentive and efficient. We really enjoyed our visit.
Paola M — Google review
Ok ok, I love the atmosphere first off! I love the decor, the location, the parking garage that is easily accessible, and the overall vibe going on here. While I was a fan of all of that, the service wasn’t too great. We went for dinner time on a Monday night. We ordered an appetizer and it never came but we got charged for it. We were never checked on, and we did want to order more, so we went around the corner for something small to fill us up. I believe it’s a bit overpriced for bare minimum food. You basically don’t get a meal. My party and I ordered tacos, and none came with a side of rice or beans. Just two tacos. For the price you pay, you could go to a street vendor and get 5-6 tacos not just 2. Overall, I loved how beautiful this place was but not a fan of the prices and food. I’m not local here but I don’t think I’d travel all the way back just for this place again. At least I tried it!
Brianna T — Google review
I'm torn with this review. We came here on Thursday night after work and sadly, there were only 2 other tables the entire evening from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. They need more customers or I don't see how they will survive. The food was tasty and fresh. The portions for the entrees were generous and the margaritas were tasty. The beet salad is like nothing I've ever had before. Roasted beets with an ancho sauce (not spicy), crema, pumpkin seeds and orange segments. It was absolutely fabulous. Even though the place was basically empty, we only saw our waitress at the beginning and once we got our food it was quite some time before we were checked on. Very pretty girl and I really like their uniforms (good styling choice) but they should be a scootch more attentive with water offerings & checking to make sure the patrons are good. What disappointed me and almost got a 2 star review is that I asked for fresh avocado on the Chile Relleno and got a 1/4 of a nearly hard avocado with the hefty price of $5.95!!! I've never seen such an exorbitant charge for avocado. To top it off, I don't like when establishments just bring the charge machine with no view of the bill prior. I'm blindly tipping (of which the 2% added on would've affected the percentage) and had I seen the charge for the avocado I would've requested a deduction. I would recommend the food to people, just be aware of some of the charges and always ask to see your receipt before calculating your tip. Never trust the auto calculation at any place, I've caught many that are wrong.
Angela S — Google review
Stopped in on the recommendation of the octopus. As I arrived i was immediately greeted by chase who guided me to the bar as he gave some of his own recommendations. Brenna the bartender immediately geeeted me and got me set up with a nice cold beverage. While waiting for my beverage i was just looking around and the esthetic and ambience were so on point really full of the culture. I ended up getting the octopus which was an absolute phenomenon the slight char mixed with the zucchini tomatoes and green mole really set off the flavor of the octopus just really was a chefs kiss. I’d give just the all around experience a 10/10 and would definitely come back next time im in San Jose,Ca

Flames Eatery & Bar is a modern American diner located near San Jose State University, offering a unique blend of Greek and Italian cuisine alongside classic American dishes. The restaurant serves breakfast all day, featuring an array of popular items such as breakfast sundaes, oatmeal, eggs cooked in various styles, waffles, pancakes, and omelets. For my first time here I have to say I really enjoyed it . I had breakfast and so did my friend . I sat at the bar and the bartender there was really attentive and quick . It was Sunday game day. it was pretty packed but she managed all the orders with persision. The foood was great. The amount was perfect. Huge pancakes . Plenty of seating and the parking is good too.

Came here for a late breakfast with 3 friends. A little preface, I eat out a lot. Especially breakfast places. The service was awesome! The portions, great! The prices very reasonable. So why only 3 stars? What's left to critique but the food itself. It was mediocre. I'm basing that off an average of the table. Some really didn't like their meal and others were ok with it. Personally, I was ok. The bottom line, it was a decent meal. Will I be back? Maybe. If I'm hungry and don't want to wait to be seated, I'm coming here. But if I got time, I'm going some place else.
Victor S — Google review
Went for breakfast. Great food but nothing amazing. Indoors was dark and hard to see. Had nice outdoor seating with shade. My partner got a short stack. They were fluffy nice portion. I got the works omelet. It was filling, savory, huge portion and fresh fruit on the side A friend got the California eggs Benedict. He said it was delicious, hardy and healthy meal.
Hannah W — Google review
Absolutely HUGE menu. They serve everything from pancakes to spaghetti to Greek food, so it's a great place to go with a large group if people can't make up their minds what they're in the mood for. Flames is a small chain with several locations but this one in downtown San Jose is my favorite. Feels pretty upscale and has nice streetscape views from the booths. Even has a small outside patio area for sunny days. I had the Eggs Benedict (eggs perfectly poached) on this visit while my wife really enjoyed the special of the day - a red beet salad with chicken and walnuts. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the service which can be a bit slow when the place gets busy.
Norman M — Google review
When I first walked in I noticed the place was dirty, but as we sat down we got this server by the name of Richard and he was amazing, but then things turned for the worst. We got the drinks Smooth Move and they tasted good but had no hint of alcohol. Then we got some calamari that tasted like old bacon grease. Disgusting! We also ordered some nachos and asked for no sour cream and when we got it they looked just thrown together with sour cream on top, and we told the waiter my wife was allergic to sour cream! So then we told the waiter that we didnt like the appetizers and he rudely yelled to the entire restaurant " TAKE IT OFF THE BILL, HEY TAKE THIS OFF THERE BILL!" Then Richard's whole attitude changed and he was very rude to us after that. So we just played for our drinks and left.
AntMan 2 — Google review
We went on Labor day Monday. Not crowed and we're seated by the busser who brought us water. The waiter took his time acknowledge us and when he did just casually asked if we knew what we wanted. Ok fine. Brought us our food. The chocolate milk shake & the root beer float were yummy. We ordered the Ruben Sandwich with coleslaw and All meat pizza. The Ruben sandwich was very tasty. However the $16.00 Pizza was horrible and taste rancid. The mushrooms were rubbery and gross. I had it removed from my bill. I feel like some of these old restaurants don't change their menu or their food and or never taste their own food.
Emilia R — Google review
My daughter and I have lunch here whenever we can. The waiter s are very respectful nice quiet clean atmosphere. I love a place that let's you talk to your lunch buddy and not be interrupting every 5 minutes. However if there is something you need someone is always there to get you what you need. Prices are good, are a is always clean. I highly recamend FLAMES. I am a prude when I eat out. But I have never had one thing to complain about here. 3yrs ago I wrote this review it still applies today the only place in Downtown San Jose I would consider going to
Elizabeth J — Google review
What a great place to eat, they have so many dishes and they are all so good. Not only is the food delicious the staff is very nice, courteous, and knowledgeable. Especially Nani, she picked out both my breakfast and lunch, and we enjoyed chatting about our kids, thanks so much for making a South Carolina family feel like home!

European restaurant
O'Flaherty's Irish Pub is a laid-back establishment located in the historic San Pedro Square, offering a charming atmosphere and traditional Irish fare. The pub boasts an impressive selection of draft beers, with about 52 brews on tap that change weekly, ensuring a diverse and ever-changing variety for beer enthusiasts. In addition to their extensive beer offerings, O'Flaherty's features a full-service bar stocked with a wide range of whiskeys and spirits.
We stopped by at this pub for the just released & sought after Pliny the younger 2024, but unfortunately we were a day late. We had Pliny the Elder & other drinks instead. The bar hostess was friendly and hospitable and recommended a couple of their most popular dishes: Corned beef tacos & Shepherd’s pie. We were a little hesitant about the corned beef tacos at first, but we’re happy we gave it a try. These dishes are truly delicious and did not disappoint. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

I loved the atmosphere here. It was dark, loud and full of drunk people. It made me feel young. The music is extremely loud, so if you want to have a conversation, this might not be a place for you. Some of my friends got the Guinness, whereas I got a rum based cocktail which was very good and also reasonably priced. If your main objective is to have a good time, would definitely recommend this place. The decor is very irish and would transport you back to pubs in London and Ireland.

They had as love name playing traditional music that was nice without being too loud. The food was really good, as was the drink selection. I'll happily come back here next time I'm in town.

This is a pub in San Fernando. I drank beer during happy hour. I ate French fries as a side dish. The price is relatively cheap. The atmosphere had a strong old pub feel, the TV was placed so that people could enjoy it comfortably, and the old photos were also nice to see. However, many of the guests were accompanied by dogs. Please keep this in mind when considering the atmosphere. The clerk was friendly. As the location is in a busy area, consider paid parking or street parking.

Yard House is a high-end sports bar chain known for its extensive menu of New American cuisine and an impressive selection of draft beers. The restaurant offers a lively and elevated atmosphere, making it a great spot to watch the game with friends or enjoy a fun night out with family. The menu features a variety of dishes such as tacos, pizzas, fish and chips, salads, nachos, and burgers.
First time coming here and had a great experience. We booked a reservation before we got to the restaurant , upon arrival we checked in and were seated within 15 minutes. On a Friday at 6:00. Our waiter Maria was awesome. We were there celebrating a friend's birthday. After finishing our food and our beers Maria brought over a cake with a happy birthday on the plate. I don't know if this was the alcohol talking but this is one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had. We genuinely didn't expect anything for the birthday and we're completely surprised by this. This is basically the cherry on top we had already enjoyed our day and this just topped it off. Service was great food got delivered fast to the table. People were constantly checking up on us and felt great spending the money we did. We will 100% come back 10/10

Clearly this place is popular or maybe that it was a Sunday that we picked for dinner. It’s a pretty big restaurant and my best guess can easily seat about 100 plus when full. It’s got a fully stacked bar and they are famous for the beer shots (rather beer in small glasses. The one we sampled was 6 different types of beer served up front in a single tray. You better reserve a table eye it’s going to be a long wait. The staff is friendly and the service is great. But somehow I came away not exactly over the moon - or maybe what I ordered isn’t the taste that I am used to. The only thing I remember that tasted great was the spicy edamame that paired perfectly with the beer. The jambalaya was quite the disappointment- I’ve had much better. Clearly they are popular but at least for me it was like I’ve has much better food for that price. But then this is my review and you should make up your own mind about the place…

The beer selection was amazing! The Kona Big Wave and House Belgian White were awesome. The vodka penne was a bit dry, so asked for extra vodka sauce to put on it. Wings were really good. Wisconsin cheese curds were amazing and as good as I had them in Wisconsin. Service was slightly slow but it was super busy, so totally understandable.

A few of us came here on a Sunday evening. It was packed! Really fun and loud ambiance, high energy, family friendly, great food. Not really a place for a quote romantic dinner, but good for any other occasion, especially a casual group get together.

This was my third visit to Yard House, and the consistent excellence is what keeps me coming back. Just like the previous times, the service was outstanding—fast, friendly, and genuinely attentive. The staff clearly knows their stuff, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The beer selection is simply unparalleled; their extensive menu of brews offers something for every palate, and the quality is top-notch. As for the food, it was delicious and perfectly prepared, proving that Yard House is more than just a great beer spot. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We had dinner here last night since it was open late night and the wait wasn’t as long as it usually is. I’ve come here quite a few times and it never disappoints. The food was fantastic. Crispy delicious calamari. I had a steak protein bowl that was to die for my steak was so tender and delicious along with all the vegetables and flavors that came with it.. my son had the fish and chips and my fiancé had the pizza. All of it was so amazing. We were celebrating an occasion and they brought us a celebratory dessert. Food came out quick. Prices are reasonable for how delicious the food is. I just can’t say enough good things about this place. I have never once had a bad meal here. I will definitely be returning many many times. Just love the food and atmosphere here. Kudos to the chefs.!! A must try!

Great beer selections and features seasonal craft beers from different breweries in the country! We come here often for their wide beer selections, tasty appetizers & happy hour. Drinks & some food on the menu are reasonably discounted during the happy hour. Food servers are friendly, make great beer suggestions & attentive.

This Santana restaurant was a treat for me and my boyfriend to go to. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s very good. We must’ve got there at the right time because they sat us in a corner booth table with a beautiful view of the whole restaurant and outside the drinks were great the appetizers we have the artichoke cheese dip. I had the whiskey glaze salmon. He had the teriyaki ribeye. It was phenomenal. I wish we could afford to go here more

American restaurant
The Table is a popular American eatery located in Willow Glen, San Jose, just a short drive from downtown. The restaurant offers a rustic-chic ambiance with an open kitchen and has recently expanded to include a new patio and spacious bar featuring an Imbibe menu with over 20 craft drinks. Emphasizing a farm-to-table ethos, The Table uses locally sourced ingredients for its seasonal menu and creates its own juices, syrups, and purees on-site.
From the moment we walked in, the ambiance and the friendly staff set the tone for a good experience. The tostada had a crunchy texture with a variety of flavors, and the fried chicken burger with the toasted buns tasted great! The chocolate cake could have been a little less dry. Each dish was beautifully presented. The service was very attentive, and the overall vibe was relaxed.
Bartika D — Google review
It was not an easy decision for me to leave a negative review, but I would be more than happy to revisit it if I receive a thoughtful response from the restaurant. My intention is simply to share my honest experience in the hope of helping this restaurant improve, and nothing more. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and I would like to feel safe and welcome when I bring my friends here, no matter what skin colors they are. Everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect and attention. I’ve lived in the U.S. for over a decade, and I honestly never expected that dining out would one day come with the worry of being treated differently. Unfortunately, our experience with the service left us feeling uncomfortable. To start, the front desk initially didn’t want to seat us outdoors, despite plenty of available tables. Right after she seated the group ahead of us (a white couple), I pointed out, “there are plenty of tables outside,” which made her feel awkward and eventually led her to seat us outdoors. Secondly, our waitress did not greet us at all throughout the entire meal. She only appeared to take our order, without any greeting or eye contact. She didn’t bother to refill our water or check in on us, while she spent time small-talking and joking with other tables. I didn’t even have a chance to tell her that my husband’s dish was cold. At the end, we tried to get her attention several times to ask for the check—my husband spoke to her directly, and I made eye contact twice—but we were consistently overlooked as she attended to other tables. Eventually, I decided to speak with the manager. The manager was generous—she comped our bill and offered us dessert, which we truly appreciated. I could tell she wanted to make things right, and I’m grateful for her efforts. However, the interaction felt rushed, and she didn’t seem to speak with our server at all about our feedback. When she came to our table, she didn’t ask my husband for his feedback, which only added to our lingering feeling of being unintentionally dismissed. I’m not sharing this to complain or seek anything more—we’ve already received compensation. I’m leaving this review in the hope that the restaurant will reflect on how it treats all guests, and especially how moments of discomfort can leave a lasting impression. As I mentioned earlier, I would like to feel safe and welcome when I bring my friends here in the future, no matter what skin colors they are. I look forward to hearing a response from the restaurant.

Great location and atmosphere. Pretty cool patio. The service was great - our server, Erica, was awesome. We had the special strawberry salad, the special black cod and John’s Bolognese. The strawberry salad was nice and refreshing. Unfortunately, the black cod and the bolognese were both under seasoned, which was a bummer.

We had a nice meal here but nothing stood out to us unfortunately. Maybe my expectations were too high? The melon and prosciutto was a miss since the melon was cut way too big and wasn’t ripe enough. Roasted carrots and scallops were good. Lamb meatballs were fine. I enjoyed the cocktails and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

We've eaten here a few times and we love it. This review is for their take out. We ordered corn beef hash and what we got was pitiful. Barely any food and the meat was raw. $28 for this.
Tyler F — Google review
The food looked good, but was a little bland. It was prepared ok, and for the prices I would have expected more flavor. The coffee was delicious; robust and smooth. The crab cake Benedict had a lot of veggies and the eggs were the 63 degree eggs. The 63 degree egg whites were not fully cooked. The crab cake was moist and tasty. The hash browns were golden and crispy but not over done in oil. They were prepared beautifully. My husband had the corned beef hash, and he was not impressed. The eggs were to be done over hard and still had a runny yoke. The potatoes were done very well and the corned beef was bland. We had Bloody Mary’s, and they were spicy and yummy with all of the veggie garnishes. The beignets were surgery and warm. Great comfort food. The helping size was plenty and the service from Maria was great. The atmosphere is delightful.

Modern American foods restaurant. Foods and services were excellent. I would give this place 5 stars if the Bone marrow we ordered would have had more bone marrow in it. We got two piece of bone, one with bone marrow (not much though) and one with only bone. They should have a better quality control of this. Other foods were fine as per photo.

The portion sizes are generous; you get what you pay for. The pear salad was very nice, exceeding my expectations. The heirloom tomatoes were also very good, though I wish they had given us four! Everything else we ordered was well-made and flavorful. The environment is cool, with old-style dining decor and a nice bar. Good service overall.

So the place itself is nice and it does have a German feel to it, BUT IT WAS FREEZING!!! The customer service from the men was fantastic but the Asian waitress seemed to want to rush us out. The food was decent, we ordered the sausage platter which was authentic and great, the salad which was good but not authentic and then the Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes… my main issue was this dish. The gravy is 100% NOT German. Very sweet and nothing like true Jägersose anywhere in Germany… the schnitzel was too thick as well. As we were leaving everyone was super friendly other than the lady at the bar that we stopped at for a moment on our way out since we were waiting on our uber. She was not

Good old boy bar atmosphere. Narssastic co-owner. Definitely not German food, nor German atmosphere. Don't make the mistake of going hoping to enjoy authentic food. Sauerkraut and potato salad was cold. The sausages were over boiled. It took 3 minutes from ordering to serving if that tells you how the food is prepared. $82 for what you see. A witz...

I've visited this bar multiple times, and each experience has been fantastic. They offer an excellent selection of the best German beers, both on tap and in bottles, catering to every beer enthusiast's taste. The atmosphere is always lively and welcoming, thanks to the amazing staff and patrons who make you feel right at home. The interior is beautifully designed, reflecting authentic German architecture with its charming, rustic details. We are on a weekend trip to San Jose and found this restaurant walking distance from our Airbnb. There is a good selection of traditional German food and German beers. I absolutely loved the Reuben sliders! We also enjoyed M'ssissipi Slide performing in the beer garden. Love those blues. Plus we had a very attentive waiter.

I seldom go to san Jose. Last Saturday, my friend said we would go there to drink beer, so we went to this shop. I was amazed by the ambience, the service and the food, especially the beer. The decoration and furnishings of the house are the kind of old furniture with a sense of time. A liter of beer is really good for me to drink. And his signature German dish,Roast pork knuckle and sausage, is the best I've had in the Bay Area. The service was also very warm and friendly.I already want to move my family to live nearby.

The bar is located in an exposed brick space with a long bar, offering a wide range of artisan drinks that are both innovative and accessible. The menu features signature cocktails, punches, and a variety of new- and old-school drinks categorized based on their flavor profiles.
Good food and good drinks, solid spot for a hang out or for a date. Loved my drink, #16 on the menu (forgot the name 😆). Fries were delicious but the real star are the wings. You can't go wrong with guac.

Finally visited this place and was not disappointed. The cocktails and the finger food were great! They have a limited menu and limited veg options but whatever options were there were great. One has to order at the bar and it's mostly self serve except food. The place can get pretty crowded during weekends. We ordered almost everything from the food menu and really liked the shrimp tacos / al pastor baos/ mushroom empanadas.

Paper Plane is an amazing spot for a late-night hangout in downtown San Jose! If you’re looking for great drinks, good food, and a lively atmosphere, this place checks all the boxes. I recently stopped by with friends, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The cocktails here are next-level—creative, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The bartenders clearly know their craft, and the menu offers a wide variety of options, from classics with a twist to fun, unique concoctions you won’t find anywhere else. The food was equally impressive—perfect for sharing and exactly what you want when you’re out for a night of good drinks and conversations. Service was another highlight. Despite how busy it was, the staff was quick, friendly, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. It made the whole experience even better. The vibe at Paper Plane is perfect for both small groups and larger gatherings. It’s lively without being overwhelming, and the seating setup makes it easy to relax and enjoy the night. Whether you’re a local or just visiting San Jose, I highly recommend Paper Plane for a fun night out with friends, great drinks, and good vibes!

After an exciting win by the 49ers it was time to have one last meal before we hit the road from San jose. This restaurant came highly recommended as a family member of mine said she really loved their tacos. I enjoyed the ease of the menu as you pick your items told the bartender and paid in advance I ordered the vegan tacos along with the truffled fries. My friend ordered a bacon hamburger. I enjoyed that the food did not take much time to come out and the Truffle fries had great flavor I really enjoyed the tacos as you couldn't tell there wasn't meat in them. The brussel sprouts along with their sauce and pickled onions gave these tacos a really good flavor profile. Overall I definitely would try them again. I wasn't able to try a drink at the bar because I was the designated driver for the night however I'd love to try their Bar menu as they had some unique drinks that should be explored.

Solid cocktail bar! Went on a Wednesday night so it was a bit empty but crowded at the bar. Had several cocktails there and all tasted great. Tried one of their special cocktails (had gochujang in it) which I wasn’t a huge fan of but the old fashioned was tasty. The bartender was super friendly and made sure everyone had a drink.

Great place to chill if you're in the area! They have this menu with a cross-section of different flavor profiles to try 😋 even so the bartenders were fantastic and recommend me some great drinks outside the menu! Great music and awesome staff!

Excellent bar in Sanjose. I loved the cocktail selections and names on the menu card. The 4 quadrant graph for cocktail selection was fun and quirky.

Trying this place for the first time, it's great. It has a small menu so not too intimidating. Happy hour is from 5-7pm. The koji wings were good but not what I expected. I thought they would have sauce. They actually are fried but oh so good. The cheeseburger was delish! I got it with regular fries. The most amazing thing was the brussel sprout tacos. OMG! Very delicious, had to order a second batch. You get two for a serving. The atmosphere is very casual yet upbeat. The alcoholic drinks are great. The "Don't tell Mom" is a great drink. Also, "Summer '93". It's a different drink but has vanilla ice cream. Music is not too loud but enough to vibe off to.

Restaurant
SmokeEaters is a local chain known for its casual atmosphere, serving up beer, burgers, and a variety of wing flavors. It's considered one of the best spots in the Bay Area for top-notch wings. The restaurant prides itself on offering fresh food made to order every day, with specialty sauces crafted from scratch. While the dining room may be closed, outdoor seating is available.
10/2020 The Dining Room is closed but they have tables outside. I ordered the Western Burger. It's described as Tillamook Cheddar, Onion Rings, Apple wood Bacon, Smoked Hickory (Sauce), Lettuce Tomato, Brioche Bun. I got the dollar upgrade to sweet potato fries. The brioche bun was nice, however the burger patty was a mass produced frozen patty. Instead of Onion Rings there was just one. All in all, not bad value for this area. The staff was helpful and friendly, but this is downtown San Jose so I got hit up for money by a guy who just set up shop on the next table (free rent).
Carlos B — Google review
We have been looking for good chicken wings in the downtown area. The wings were very crispy and the sauce was flavorful, however, the prices were VERY expensive. The wings came out to over $2/wing (23.50 for 10). We shared them and a sandwich. The Diesel sandwich was pretty good, sort of dry. The beers were good on tap. They had the hockey game on which was fun! Overall the rating is low for the price. Our bill was about $70 for 10 wings, a sandwich, and 2 beers. I had interest in chicken tenders, but 6 tenders are $24. That's insane. At the price point there are other restaurants for same quality at lower cost.

Came in looking for a gourmet burger because of the price. Burger was to greasy to soggy because of the lettuce after taking 1 bite and asking if I could get some sauce it would 25 cents at this point i wanted to taste something different for the burger had no flavor. Took another asked if I could get half of my money back or another burger or something clerk said that’s what it is.

I'd have rated this place higher, cept Google's menu listed them as having both shakes & rootbeer floats, they had neither, & by the X I got to destination (about 4 blocks away) the 🍟's were already cold, and whist the burger was better than what joes has, it may take second place to rookie's burger & around the same price

So this is the memorabilia at the bar here. I came to this bar in San Jose to watch a 49ers game. The team playing 15 minutes up the road. They don't even have the game playing for everyone to hear. This place is a joke they don't care about locals at all.

The Caravan Lounge is a well-loved dive bar in San Jose, known for its punk vibe and live music. It's a favorite spot for both aging barflies and younger crowds seeking a unique experience. The bar offers strong drinks and even sells six-packs to go. While it has temporarily suspended its Thursday live shows, it still maintains its charm with friendly service and vibrant atmosphere. The staff may come off as rude; however, I think it is because of the punk culture, not necessarily who they are. The live music is okay. CASH ONLY.
Tam L — Google review
Very disappointed with my experience. I visited last night to support some local bands and friends who were performing. The drinks were mediocre—I ordered a Long Island and a tequila lime soda, both of which were made incorrectly and tasted watered down. After the performances, a few friends and I stepped outside for some air. There were multiple groups gathered outside, not just ours. At one point, we noticed another group—whom we did not know—taking Jell-O shots. While my group was simply standing in a circle talking, a bouncer suddenly approached us, yelling and accusing us of taking Jell-O shots. He told us we were being disrespectful to the bar and that we were no longer allowed back inside. I explained that none of us had taken any Jell-O shots and even showed him to prove it. He responded that he didn’t care and reiterated that we were banned from re-entering. You’re seriously going to kick out a group of 20 people who came to support your venue and brought in significant business—for something we didn’t even do? That’s absolutely unprofessional. Businesses should remember that their customers are the reason they stay open. This situation was incredibly frustrating because we were doing nothing wrong—just standing outside and following the rules. Overall: I do not recommend this place. The drinks are overpriced and watered down (especially for a dive bar), and the staff is rude and unprofessional. I won’t be spending my money here again.
Chance M — Google review
I can’t believe how poorly they treat their customers and performers. From the moment I walked in to set up for the show, the staff were snippy with my band, friends, and family. They ended up kicking out nearly all of us because someone had a drink outside, and they took it personally—even going as far as banging on the bathroom door to kick out a friend simply for being associated with us. It’s a shame they cleared out almost the entire bar before the closer could perform. This is no way to treat local musicians or their supporters. Sadly, this was our first live performance—and it will definitely be our last at this venue.

As someone from freaking Kansas I've never had a chance to experience a proper punky dive bar. Cheap Pabst, free music, great people. When I return this will be a place I stop. The people were drunk but friendly and the owner as well as the bartenders kept things moving. I'd pay 10 dollars just to enter a place like this in Wichita, it wouldn't have live music and the drinks would be twice as expensive. Amazing why we have no night life here.

This is my local post-work happy hour spot. Not much to choose from on the Alameda. Great beers on tap. Service depends on the day. A little dingy, more divey than expected but it seems cleaner these days than a year ago. Food could be a lot better. I’ve ordered charcuterie boards where they were out of a few items and didn’t mention it, and the nachos were awful. Can’t go wrong with tater tots. Went to this nightclub May 31st and had a really frustrating experience. My group paid full price for our section the day before, but when we got there, security wouldn't let most of our people in. The section we reserved was already packed with people who weren't even with us. Security was rude and kept saying the area was too full, even though it's their job to make sure only the right people have wristbands. We even had to involve the owner, NICK SANTOS, who told security not to let our people in-why, when we had paid for it??? The bottle girls were trying to help us out, but they kept going back and forth with security until they just gave up because they couldn't do anything anymore. Really disappointing when we'd already paid for the section. Don’t even waste your time here. The crowd is very weird and the men like to grab/touch girls.

Club's a total scam. They put pictures of what it looks from inside, but the actual DJ is outside in rundown open ground. They don't have alcohol variety, 4-5 options at max. They DONT GIVE A BILL and OVERCHARGE on your credit card the next day. I'd rather watch my money burn than go to a place like this.
Naman S — Google review
Been here for Bollywood events a few times. DJs are generally much better here. Crowd isn’t upscale but not bad too. Never had any issues here. Dance floor is all outdoors. No place to leave your coat/jacket. There’s some indoor place to sit during events.

This was the first time I have come. The place was filled with creepy guys who followed us until the parking and were knocking on the window, even though we silently left the place in between. Girls be safe before even entering!!! I don't recommend this place at all

The Cinebar is a small, no-frills indie bar with black-and-white pop art movie murals on the walls. The staff are friendly and there's usually movies playing on the bar televisions. It's a great place for a cheap drink, and it's also been known to be one of the friendlier dive bars in San Jose.
A great dive with the perfect atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and so were the patrons. Cheap drinks mixed as strong as the Lord intended. The decor has to be seen to be believed, so drop in for a drink or two (or five) and just soak up the place.
Jenelle P — Google review
The friendliest dive bar in San Jose. I started coming here when I first arrived in town and it has become one of my favorite places for a quick and affordable drink.

Free pool, cheap drinks, nice strangers. This bar is kind of a hole in the wall.
Kiera L — Google review
The bartenders are nice. The decor is geared towards the punk/metal/alternative crowd without being overbearing. Drinks are good. Location is great. But for some reason I just can't really enjoy going there. It never comes together in a way that isn't meh. Will pop in again, but it's not a destination I will head to that often Update: walked over again. Wasn't awesome, again. Lost a star

The bar was great!! Love the atmosphere, but the bartenders were jerks. Couldn’t get service unless I forced direct eye contact and attention. Sitting at the bar with an empty glass and money to spend is a shame. I could see if these two guys were slammed, but this was not the case. They didn’t want to work and it showed. If I were the owner I would get someone in there who wanted to make money. You’re losing money with these guys.
Kristi S — Google review
Cool bar to go to. Wish they had a bigger selection of beer. Also the service is a hit or miss. Sometimes the bartenders are nice, other times they aren't. The art work is nice to look at. Small place, gets crowded fast.

Really friendly bartenders. Always felt welcomed and safe. I didn't drink in the past, and the bartenders were super cool with that. I love the skateboards and art. I only come here on travel visits, will always be my go to spot.
Brittany S — Google review
I found this bar a bit cramped and some of the customers made me feel a bit uncomfortable. It's a divey bar without all of the charm, in a sense. Honestly, the bartender was good and the place was clean, so maybe I caught a weird crowd. It seemed to me a lot of the folks in there, who seemed pretty drunk around 5 pm, were regulars. Not sure if I'll give it a second chance.

Wine bar
Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown San Jose, Vyne Bistro is a chic wine bar that effortlessly blends modern elegance with a cozy atmosphere. With plush leather seating and a crackling fireplace, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. The bistro offers an impressive selection of wines from around the globe, making it easy to find the perfect pairing for their New American dishes.
Thirsty Thursday! Ohhhhhhh yes!!! So I made a RSVP on Yelp at 7:30 for my coworker and I. Next thing you know I received a phone call from the owner, Cyril and informed me that we are not guaranteed a table since there's a private party happening until 8pm. I called back and I told him that we don't mind standing around and just have a few drinks until we are seated. My other coworker who comes here regularly recommended this place. So of course I had to do a name drop. The owner was like oh yes!!!! "........" Anyway I didn't mind standing around for a bit. Upon our arrival, there was definitely a party going on and we just sat outside and ordered Blue Point oysters as for appetizers and a glass of wine. When the party finally ended we decided to go back inside and ordered our first course meal which was the oxtail linguine. The oxtail was cooked perfectly and the meat just falls off the bone. I felt like I was on cloud 9 because everything about this meal was AMAZING!!!!! Afterwards, we ordered a cold cut combo (prosciutto, sopressata, bresaola) and paired it with another glass of wine. We also ordered the Angus beef sliders along with crab cakes. For dessert, we decided to go with tiramisu and paired it with the Pink Moscato. The owners Cyril and Olga are so down to earth and they really care for their customers. Our server was very informative and super nice. At the end of the night, Cyril was kind enough to offer us a few drinks. One was called Syrah and I don't recall the other. Michael who is also one of their staff and he was also nice. As for first impression, I was surprise on how good the food was. The service is AWESOME!!! In terms of parking, we got lucky that we found parking on the street and it was just around the corner from the restaurant. The owners also told us that they can validate our parking ticket if we choose to park in the garage next time. We ended our night with some hot tea. I had the African Nectar and the aroma was fantastic. I look forward to my next visit!

If you are looking for a nice selection of wines by the glass, half glass or bottle from apertif style sherry thru to dessert ports, the new Vyne Bistro accommodates with modern modular seating area and bar in the Paseo walkway and shopping area near San Jose State University between 3rd and 4th Street. This fairly good sized place has a glass front and open industrial feeling with a bit of warmth from the flat panel wall gas fireplace (more art piece than anything). The special of the day soup I had was a wonderful and spicy homemade and slightly chunky tomato that I can recommend along with a simple mixed beet and blue cheese salad. The half glass of sherry I sipped while waiting for friends was a pleasantly dry offering served up by an attentive waiter, who unfortunately then was off his shift and this is where the evening and Vyne Bistro took an unfortunate turn. The waitress who served the group clearly had good intention, but lacked basic education around wine (initially setting down a glass of tempranillo and telling me it was the chardonnay, which another member of the group had ordered). Several other errors such as bringing a round of the same drinks when a desire to order new selections had been discussed with her tended to make us raise our eyebrows at the lack of smooth skills for service, but her manner was pleasant if not terribly competent or attentive. The rest of the food ordered that evening (sandwiches and olives) was good and enjoyed if not particularly noteworthy. I might add that the sandwich was verbally described as being on a roll (sourdough or wheat) when in fact it was sliced bread of same variety. While the atmosphere is not really my style, if your in the downtown area and seeking a decent glass of wine and appetizer before dinner, I can endorse Vyne Bistro. This is a place I would attend if I was in the area, but might not drive a distance to enjoy.

Combines the elegance of a modern bistro with the welcoming warmth of the staff. Good food and good wine (as well as good beer!), either sitting at a table or at the bar - where you can share an always interesting conversation with the owners or the regulars, you will feel part of the "vyne family" right away. And there are also the many activities they organize (social mixers, wine tastings, painting lessons while tasting wine, etc)!
Alf A — Google review
They propose 3 or 6 oz glasses of wine. We ordered 6 oz: the glass was barely 4 oz (checked after we went home from measurements we made)... and very expensive. Asked the waitress and alas she lied (or she did not know). I do not like to be fooled. People in the vicinity had the same doubts and asked their waiter too, with the same answer than ours. Sorry this is not how a business should be run. I and my wife will definitively not go back there...ever.

Went here on a Monday. Was looking for a steak and usual places were closed. My date had the steak and i had the prawns risotto. I got three prawns, one had no meat. My date had the steak, over cooked a bit. Drinks were good. Service was good. A bit over priced for the quality of the food. Probably won't be going back.

For such a higher end place was very disappointing. Sat at bar for cocktails and appetizers. Wife tried to order two different glasses of wine from menu which they didn’t have but they had the third. Ordered baked bre which comes with only a forks to share. No crackers or crustini. Asked the bar tender and he look at us like sorry no. I explained that I’ve never ordered baked bre where you only get to share it with only a forks. So crazy! At least I know now not to come back. Wow!! Plus this place is expensive.

Our experience at The Grill on the Halley was memorable from start to finish. The ambience is a blend of modern sophistication with a cozy touch, making it perfect for both intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings. We began our evening at the bar, where the selection of distinct wines impressed us. The knowledgeable bartender guided us through their offerings, ensuring we started with the perfect wine. Once inside the restaurant, the atmosphere remained warm and inviting, with attentive service enhancing our dining experience. The menu boasts an array of enticing dishes, highlighting high-quality ingredients. We started with a Beef Carpaccio. While it was presented beautifully and tasted exquisite, the portion seemed rather small for sharing. For those with a hearty appetite, ordering an additional appetizer might be wise. The Caesar Salad was more appropriately sized for sharing and featured crisp, fresh ingredients with a delightful dressing. It was a great precursor to the main courses. For our entrees, we had the Filet Mignon and the New York steak. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor. The Filet Mignon, in particular, was a standout, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience that truly highlighted the quality of the beef. Overall, The Grill on the Halley offers a top-notch dining experience with a well-curated menu and an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. It's a great spot for enjoying a fine meal with family and friends. Probably the best wine list in San Jose Downtown, featuring a remarkable selection of notable wines. Although the prices can be quite steep, you can still enjoy a variety of exquisite wines without breaking the bank. For a more affordable experience, consider choosing wines by the glass to savor the variety and quality.

Very rarely do I give a full 5 Star rating. This Resto impressed our party of three. Everything about our dining experience was fantastic. Paul, our server, went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of throughout the meal. He was a wealth of knowledge with a great sense of humor. The other staff was so helpful and professional as well. Our food was delicious to the last bite and very well presented. We started with fresh baked warm bread and butter and some crispy Calamari. For our Entrées we enjoyed the Nordic Halibut with Brussel Sprouts, Australian Lamb Chops with Lobster Mac-n-Cheese and a perfectly cooked medium rare 8oz. Flat Iron Steak with Miso Glazed Asparagus. Followed by a spongy yet delectable Japanese Cheesecake that was first released to us that night. Also we devoured a scrumptious Blood Orange Bread Pudding. We all agreed that we should have ordered two of those! I treated myself to a Highland Park 12 Scotch served neat that complimented my meal perfectly.

The Grill - review This is a great alternative to Flemings. You’ll love it here if they are fully staffed. The food is really good and the ambiance is great. You can also sit outdoors for a sunny meal with a breeze. This is an anniversary dinner type of place. It’s a place where you have an important meeting. Lots of lawyers hang out here. The prices are such to attract a certain crowd. If you’re looking for exclusivity, it’s your place. Drinks are very strong. Highly recommend the old fashioned Bread is hard and butter is not softened. Ordered lobster bisque but not much lobster in it, not even one small tail of lobster. It is very tasty and rich. It’s delicious. Crab cake looks awful but tastes amazing. Very poor and lazy plating. No pride was taken in the presentation. Pinot Grigio tastes delicious. Parking - little to none Time to be acknowledged immediately Time to be seated - 5 min , very understaffed One group of four gentlemen sat down and then actually left before even getting service because there’s only the bartender helping out everyone in the bar area. Currently 7 customers. They would have made 11. Missed opportunity. 145p arrival on a Monday The host got there at 1:51pm Time to take my order 10 min later Time to get water 10 minutes Time to get drink 13 minutes Time to get appetizer 2:06pm Time to get bread and crab cake 2:08 I will return here but only for a special occasion.

This is my second time visiting with my colleagues. I liked their frozen margarita, but noticed that their blender may need to be upgraded. Still, it's tasty. The menus are authentic, and there are plenty to choose from. I highly recommend their homemade chips and guacamole, which they make in front of you, fresh, with an option to select with or without cilantro. There is plenty of parking and seating areas, great for a group gathering.

This restaurant was impressive with its service , food and ambiance. The best Mexican restaurant in the peninsula . Very inviting atmosphere. We had chips and guac , veggie fajitas and quesadillas. Every dish was delicious and the salsas were a feast to the taste buds . The signature margarita was so refreshing that I ended up with a second serving. Service was above par , and we enjoyed the server making fresh guac by our table . Highly recommend this restaurant for family dinner and date nights.

Beautiful building and atmosphere. Pleanty of room and spaces for various parties. We went on a holiday so it wasn't too busy. The chips and salsa were nice and hot. Three types of salsa which were ok. I had a virgin Pina colada with was ok. My main couse the stuffed pepper was delicious with beans and rice. My friend got the combination plate with enchiladas and a taco. He said it was very tasty and filling. Overall, it was a nice place to visit. We will surely be back

This review is for the only dish I ordered and it was the Steak de la Casa and it was underwhelming and super fatty. I know ribeye cuts are fatty, but this was not a tasty fatty and chewy. The sauce was okay, but for this price and the quality of steak, it was not worth it. I wanted to like this place based on the glowing reviews, but it was underwhelming for me. Try it out and hopefully it will be a better dining experience for you.

Straits Restaurant is a vibrant dining and nightlife spot offering small, shareable plates of Pan-Asian cuisine and creative cocktails. The menu reflects the diverse culinary traditions of China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. Located in San Jose's Santana Row, this trendy establishment attracts stylish crowds with its Singapore-inspired appetizers and weekend DJ performances.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Straits on Santana Row truly delivers a Michelin-quality experience from start to finish. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all exceptional. We were warmly welcomed by the manager, Kim, who is not only hilarious but clearly passionate about the menu. She shared how much thought and care goes into each dish — including trying 20 different versions of the egg coffee dip to make sure it matched the original in Vietnam. That level of dedication really shows. Our servers, Enrique and Megan, were attentive and friendly throughout the meal, checking in often and making sure we had everything we needed. As for the food — every dish blew us away. The black pepper garlic rib eye was my favorite: incredibly tender, packed with umami, and paired with rice and corn that soaked up every drop of the flavorful glaze. I would honestly order it again just for the rice. We also tried the garlic noodles with shrimp (hands down the best garlic noodles I’ve ever had), the rich and comforting laksa, and the banana leaf salmon with mango salad — all equally impressive. Don’t skip dessert! The lychee panna cotta and mango kulfi float were both light, refreshing, and perfect for a summer day. To top it all off, Straits is very dog-friendly. We sat on the shaded patio with our little Maltese and they treated him like a VIP — bringing out water, a puppacino, and even unseasoned chicken just for him. We will absolutely be coming back — and bringing all our friends. Straits is a gem!

Came here for a quick bite before exploring the rest of the area. Straits during the day is a very chill place to hang out and grab a couple of drinks. Their bar is pretty big and has a good selection of alcohol that could accommodate anyone's preference. The drinks were great and they do not skimp on the alcohol. The small bites we received were just alright, but if you're hungry when it turns into a club, they will hit the spot. The atmosphere here is cool and upbeat, and the service, while a bit slow, compliments the vibe they are trying to set. Overall, an alright place that's not too pricey for what you get.
J.C. L — Google review
Straits is a Singaporean, Asian fusion gem on Santana Row. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive, something that lacks in many restaurants these days. While the restaurant has a large inside and bar area (club-like, so just keep that in mind), I highly recommend the outside seating when the weather is nice out (don’t worry they have heaters). Their happy hour is AMAZING, so jump in on SEVEN DAYS A WEEK (unheard of!). Not only are the prices fantastic, but they have a large range of drinks and food that are included. They don’t skimp on the portion size either. Now the food and drink recs!: - Lemongrass highball: even if you’re not a bourbon lover, it’s well-balanced and packs a punch - Crispy chicken “lollipops”: large, perfectly fried and the honey chili sauce…chef’s kiss - Spicy street noodles: sizable shrimp and tofu, awesome flavor and spice, I wish I wasn’t slipping this dish - Beef rendang: the braised beef had some good flavor, but parts of it were super tough and dry. Winning part of the dish was the coconut curry polenta at the bottom. It was a fantastic flavor and texture to add to the dish. Great meal and experience. Can’t wait to come back and try all of the other happy hour dishes!

Straits is like a club vibe restaurant that I think feels more like a club atmosphere the later in the night you go. The women who work here are all beautiful, giving the club vibe. I came with three coworkers of mine, about 7 minutes before happy hour ended. We told the hostess we wanted happy hour so she sat us in the happy hour area. When we went to order, the waitress told us we had to sit in the happy hour area and moved us again to another table/area. As I was looking at a happy hour menu and about to order to the waiter, a lady came and took the menu out of my hands. She then went across the table to remove the menu from my friend's hands and thankfully they said something (unlike me bc l'm scared of confrontation in any form). The waitress who was taking the menus said this was not the area for happy hour and happy hour was over. It was 5:58 and happy hour ends at 6 so technically we still had time to put an order in. We told them how we already moved tables for happy hour and thankfully our waiter Luis saved the day as he was willing to accommodate our happy hour order. If it wasn't for him, we would have not gotten it bc the lady was dead set on making us move again and telling us happy hour was over. As a business you can either happily invite people to come in and quickly get a last happy hour bite or rudely make it difficult for people to squeeze in a happy hour order and I feel like Straits did the later. It was an unwelcoming vibe and the waitresses didn't seem to know where happy hour was taking place. Is the food good? Yes. The corn fritters and chicken lollipops are always my go tos. The fries are good w the dips and the garlic noodles were good. Happy hour vodka drink was decent too just a bit sweet. Overall, I don't know how to feel about this place. Luis saved the day so I'm thankful they have some caring employees, but I'm scared to go now and not have him bc it would've been a completely different experience.

The restaurant is in amazing location and service is really good but the food tasted stale and lacked flavors. We had ordered chicken satay (2/5) and shrimp fried rice (2/5). The drinks were good. Overall would recommend this place only for vibe.
Khushbu — Google review
This restaurant has always been an enigma to me. Been here several times, and I always walk away thinking the food is too sweet, and the attempt to be a restaurant and a night club really doesn’t work, as they are mediocre at both. Plenty of other options at Santana Row.
Wei-Ai T — Google review
I visited this restaurant for a team lunch, and it's located in a nice spot with pleasant decor. They offer a separate vegetarian menu with a wide range of options, from starters to main courses, featuring South Asian-style dishes. The corn fritters, spring rolls, and garlic fries were tasty, but the crispy cauliflower was missing the expected batter coating. The street-style noodles in the main course were a bit too sticky, though the veg fried rice was enjoyable. However, considering the price, the food didn't quite meet expectations. Service was slow and lacked efficiency, with only one person taking orders and serving. They also didn't take our main course order until we'd finished the starters. Overall, the experience was decent but not outstanding.

Lazy Dog is an American restaurant known for its relaxed atmosphere and global comfort fare, including stir-fries, pot roast & pastas. The food is great and the service friendly. Reservations are recommended on weekends.
Dropped by after school for a Mom/daughter food date and this review I wanted to make is mainly for our Server Delilah. I have been coming here since it opened on Main Street since we are short of any good casual dining in our city and Delilah was amazing! She accommodated my 12yo to her exact desires and needs and made sure to periodically check on us. Huge smiles, great listening ears and overall outstanding service! Thank you Delilah for a wonderful service! As for Food we tried the appetizers: chicken wings and lettuce wraps, Thai noodles and Steak and all were delicious! The chef even cut it into bite sized for my 12yo. This Gen Alpha bunch eat so good! She got a Shirley Temple and I got the ice tea but Ive had the Peach Sangria and I need that recipe! Cant wait to come back and fingers crossed we get Lilah again!

We were a group of six and tried a variety of dishes. The food was average — nothing stood out — but the service was quite poor. Our server kept coming over to ask if we needed anything, but every time we asked them to clear the dirty plates, they would take just one and then disappear without returning. The table stayed messy for a long time, which really affected the overall experience. Not somewhere I’d be in a hurry to return to.

Food: Never been disappointed by them so far. This time we try one of their new menu, the loco moco fried rice. The flavor is nice but will be a bit too salty with the sauce, so you need to be careful. The burger is great! Psss and their appetizers are great too! Service: it’s regular and standard across the chains. Ambiance: casual and suitable for friends and family gatherings at a late time in Bay Area!

Lazy Dog offers a solid late-night happy hour, making it a reliable spot for casual drinks and bites after hours. The menu has a range of crowd-pleasers, but the *crispy tuna bites* really stand out — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly crunchy. Service is generally smooth, and the atmosphere has a relaxed, lodge-style charm that fits both groups and solo diners. Overall, a decent spot to wind down with good deals and a standout dish or two

It’s casual and easy restaurant, walking distance from hotel. Plenty of parking space though can get a bit busier at night. Seeing crowd even during lunch & dinner. I went there to get an American burger to go after my workout; it tastes great! And back to this restaurant for dine in lunch.

Consistently great food & a beautiful restaurant! S/O to Makayla! Great server and service! IG: pjology I’ve always really liked the overall aesthetic of Lazy Dog. The high ceilings make the space feel open and inviting, and everywhere you look there are unique touches — metal dog sculptures, framed photos of dogs and horses, and a beautiful back-lit bar that showcases the full lineup of drinks. The patio is also a great option if you want to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air. Now for the food: Black & Blue Burger — Cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The blue cheese adds a nice tang that pairs perfectly with the bacon and juicy patty. It’s one of my favorite burgers here — rich, savory, and super satisfying. Chicken Tortilla Soup — Classic comfort food. The broth is full of flavor with just the right amount of heat, loaded with tender chicken and topped with crispy tortilla strips and fresh avocado. Always a solid choice. Butter Cake — This is the star of the meal. Served warm, with a slightly crisp top and a rich, buttery center that melts in your mouth. Paired with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries — it’s easily one of the best desserts I’ve had anywhere. Bonus — they even have a full dog menu if you’re bringing your pup 🐾 Consistently great food, beautiful design, and a place I always enjoy coming back to.

Lazy dog is one of my favorite places to eat for many occasions; and I used to visit weekly after paddle boarding nearby at the stevens creek reservoir. But I am so sad that the sesame crusted ahi tuna is no longer available. That was my absolute favorite dish! Hope you all bring it back!

Food was great. And our service was great. The waitress i dont remember her name. She was an older lady. But she was very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was also very attentive and just checking in on our table. She was also super friendly and nice to our kids. Which is a big plus. Thank you.

Mezcal Restaurant is a charming spot in downtown San Jose, offering traditional Oaxacan cuisine and an extensive selection of mezcal and tequila. The warm, exposed-brick dining room and enclosed patio provide a unique setting for enjoying authentic southern Mexican dishes such as three different styles of mole, chapulines, and other Oaxacan specialties.
Love the painting and music there, the kids menu is great also. Big portions of food and nutritional items to choose from, though I don’t speak Spanish, I can still get good food and drink there!

We ordered tacos , enchilada mole, and salmon burger. Food tasted okay. It's not really good but not bad, mediocre. The food prices are a bit on a high side. Good service. The waiter/s are very attentive.

It was quite unexpected to see such a beautiful decor and style inside the restaurant, made you feel like your in a place far away from SF. We ordered guacamole and chips to start and tacos for lunch. We head some questions about the manue and the waiter brought out a sample to try, so nice. Definitely a place will revisit next time we are in the area.

We’ve lived in downtown San Jose for a few years but never had a meal here. We tried a few Friday evenings but it was always too crowded, I guess a good sign :) We had an afternoon lunch and really enjoyed our experience. The service was great, food was delicious, and overall the vibe was nice. We ordered the fresh guacamole, a mezcal and tamarind drink, the tacos, and a chicken burrito. We will be back!

We just got lunch here and absolutely loved the experience. The food was incredible, every dish was so good! Our server was so personable and made us feel genuinely welcome the whole time, even chatting with us about the music. The owner even stopped by our table to chat, and he was so kind. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of charm. You can really tell this place is run with care and pride. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The food was abysmal. The guac was under seasoned. No like, no salt. The mole chicken was bitter and the chicken had a chicken-y taste to it. The chicken tacos were dry and lacked taste too. The only saving grace was the tamarind non alcoholic drink. Great vibe though but unsurprisingly empty.

We’ve lived in downtown San Jose for a few years but had never dined here before. We’d tried stopping by on a few Friday evenings, but it was always packed—a good sign! :) This time, we came for a late lunch and really enjoyed the experience. We ordered the fresh guacamole, a mezcal and tamarind cocktail, tacos, and a chicken burrito—everything was great. We’ll definitely be back!

Zona Rosa is a renowned Mexican restaurant in San Jose, known for its innovative fusion cuisine and handcrafted drinks. The restaurant gained recognition by winning the 2018 San Jose Mercury News's best taco award.
One of the most incredible restaurants I have ever been to in my entire life. Best Mexican food I’ve ever had it is so unique and well executed. The ingredients are so unique and somehow work so well together. The Mexican hot chocolate was THE BEST I’ve ever had so so so good. The enchiladas were mind blowing. The ambiance is so sweet and they give you beautiful woven blankets. How in the world are these prices so good?? They’re serving super super fancy food at a very normal price. The waiter was so cool and you can tell they have a deep respect for the cooks there. He was a guy from Pensacola, owners if you’re reading this give him a raise. I’m a super fan of this restaurant. I’m so used to constant regretful experiences at restaurants this was truly a delight

place with alot of intimate spaces. Fast service and food was good. The fresh cut tortilla chips were delicious. The mushroom tacos were excellent as well as the salmon taco. The chicken enchiladas were yummy as well. Would surely return..

One of our favorite places to get a great cocktail and gorgeously done tacos that aren't what you normally find - we especially love the scallop tacos and the chicken al pastor! The drinks are well thought out and beautifully executed - their twist on a spicy margarita is especially tasty. Go for date night or go with friends and don't forget to get their house made chips and trio of salsas! But try and grab a reservation if you can, the restaurant is wonderfully cozy and fills up super fast.

On a Sunday evening, we headed to Zona Rosa and were seated right away. The waitress, who was super friendly, kicked things off with their homemade chips and dips. For appetizers, we tried the ceviche tostada, which I’d rate a solid 9 out of 10, and the quesadilla verduras, which was honestly a 10 out of 10 – one of the best I’ve ever had! The restaurant itself had a lovely vibe, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made the evening even more enjoyable. The staff really went out of their way to make everything comfortable, and I honestly enjoyed everything we ordered, which isn’t something I can say often. It was genuinely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The combination of great service, tasty drinks, and the charming setting really made it a memorable night.

Beautiful little restaurant in a beautiful area. This is our favorite date night restaurant. The margaritas are delicious! All of the drinks are. Try the esquites! The guac is from perfectly fresh avocadoa. The mole enchiladas are perfect (not chocolatey). The tacos are fire.

The Bywater is a cozy restaurant founded by Andrew Burnham and David Kinch, the chef of the renowned Manresa Restaurant. It celebrates the city where Kinch honed his cooking skills and offers classic Creole and Cajun dishes made with high-quality local California ingredients. The menu includes specialties like spicy gumbo zherbes, oyster poboys, hushpuppies, po' boys, seafood jambalaya, beignets, and Sazeracs.
The Bywater in Los Gatos is a must for New Orleans style food lovers! We had a slow cooked, melt in your mouth short rib with corn and crispy fried onions. It was absolutely delicious. It started with a dozen fresh oysters (three varieties, all incredible) and a cold Louisiana Amber beer to wash it down. Finished with heavenly beignets... HEAVENLYYYY light, fluffy, and even better with the chocolate sauce on the side. Our server, Mo G, was outstanding!!! She is friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We’d come back just for her.

Came here for a weekend lunch. Had high hope for the quality of food due to pretty good rating on google map. We were so disappointed with the fried chicken and waffle. Chicken was dry and the waffle is tasteless. Scone is alright but not that tasty. Pull pork - hm… has it better somewhere else….. anyhow, they have a full bar there, maybe it’s good to drink here instead, and order some food along with it.
Nikki L — Google review
Service and atmosphere are good, and if you're just coming in for drinks - ignore this review and do go! BUT if it's food you're after - almost every dish, except for the dhrikoo, was mediocre to simply not edible. And I'm not setting the bar at restaurant level or the prices they ask - even if this was $10 street food, I wouldn't return. And I do like fried food, St Louis style etc etc. But they just don't know how to make decent food. Their signature fried chicken - OK crispy crust, but bland and tasteless on the inside. The ribs - don't "fall off the bone" even if you pry them off. In fact we had to return them because they were so chewy. The sides like potatoes or asparagus - sticky and heavy. Fried tomatoes - way too much crust can barely taste the tomatoes. And the list goes on. I didn't even bother tasting the dessert beighnets so can't comment on it. Sometimes when there's a one off dish I chalk it off as a fluke and give the place another shot. But here everything tastes bad (cocktail was good, though) - save your money and go elsewhere
Amir H — Google review
We decided to stop here a day after returning from New Orleans because we missed the flavors. We got Gumbo, which tasted like it was cooked with three day old seafood that was left out. It had such an unsavory taste to it. I got the Muffuletta, which was okay hence the two stars. The Charbroiled oysters came out to the size of one oyster I’d get in New Orleans and with 1/10 the flavor and sauciness…$18???? what a rip off. I can get a dozen oysters there for $25. If I were them I’d cut the pricing down to $10 . I can get an oyster for $2 each from my local seafood store and they taste great. At local Oyster bars around here we get 4-6 for less than $18 dollars The beignets and here is what really made me decide I just had to leave a review. I’ve eaten beignets all over New Orleans, and I tell you what, if people were served these there, this restaurant would be shut down. Service was mid and they forgot we even wanted beignets when they were about to hand us the check, even though they asked us if the beignets should come after the main course and we said yes They were soggy and undercooked, and in fact were so bad I decided to book a trip back to New Orleans to cleanse my pallet with authentic beignets.
Michael L — Google review
As someone who truly loves gumbo, I can honestly say this is the worst gumbo I've ever had. The broth was as thin as water, completely lacking the proper thickness and flavor. I ordered two portions, and one of them even had a bitter taste. When I mentioned it to the server, they insisted that "this is how gumbo is supposed to taste." If you enjoy paying money for bad food, this is the place for you.
XianHang S — Google review
Came here for happy hour and had a great experience. Food was delicious and portion sizes were big enough to share. Everything we ordered was delicious. Gumbo and beignets are a must if you visit. I would have given 5 stars if we received everything we ordered. I ordered coffee with the beignets but our waitress forgot.

A world class meal in a hidden gem. I had the smoked pork Jambalaya special, and it was perfection… Smokey from the ham and earthy from some tasty mushrooms. My wife went rogue with the Gnocchi, but to our surprise it had a great southern twist and tasty local veg. Pretty remarkable that we have access to this type of quality in this area.

Holy hamsters, this place has got the crispiest fried chicken (in lard of course) and sooo much wonderful powdered sugar on the Beignets, kiddo loved it. Food is yummy. I only have 1 real issue. I ordered cucumber wakame salad. There was NO cucumber. It was a seaweed salad, which tasted fine. Edit: taking one more star off. Dessert order was ice cream. I specifically asked for silverware. Wait staff confirmed its there. I sit down to eat and there's no spoon. Knife can only do so much with ice cream 🙄

I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences here. After being seated, it took the servers 20 minutes just to come to our table and take drink orders. We thought things would get better after that, but it only went downhill. We ordered a few appetizers, and the first one didn’t arrive until an hour later. The rest trickled out one by one over the next hour, so by the time we got everything, half of it was cold and no one was even hungry anymore. To make things worse, the food itself was less than marginal, bland, poorly presented, and definitely not worth the long wait. The staff seemed totally unorganized and didn’t check in on us at all during the long wait. For the prices they charge, you’d expect at least basic service and timely food. Sadly, this was a total letdown. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you enjoy waiting forever for your meal.
Shruthi C — Google review
Ordered an old fashioned, advertised as $18. Bill came out reflecting $22. Sat at the bar, as the second person there. Took them over 5 minutes to acknowledge me and over 10 minutes to order a drink. Way overpriced and service sucks.
Damon — Google review
I've not had a worse experience anywhere before. - We were seated for 40 minutes before someone took our order - They were out of half of the things on the menu - Order took another 50 minutes to arrive - When food arrived, we could tell that it's microwaved - No one brought the check to us for 20 mins. - We ourselves got up and gave the cashier the Credit card at the end and walked out.

The place looks great and had a cool feel to it. The coffee was good too. The service was bad though. They were open and I think they were eating breakfast when I walked in. The person that helped me seemed annoyed she had to get up to help me. No greeting or smile. She probably should of had a cup of coffee. The raspberry something looks good but was super sugary and Dry.

I'll start by saying that the customer service was great.. the staff were very nice. The food and general service was very poor. Coffee wasn't great and definitely over priced, as well as the sandwich I had being stale and old... and over priced. Overall... if there's nothing else around you can come here for a small meal but... if you have other options I suggest you take them.

Caffe Frascati instantly felt like home to me. Being new to San Jose, I have tried a few cafes and coffee shops looking for one that is a perfect fit for my tastes. Here the environment is casual, the furniture is Woody and cozy, and the tea is delicious. I haven't yet had any espresso here, but it smells amazing. As I write a musician is setting up to play in the corner, and another patron is gazing over the mezannine rail sipping coffee and typing away at a laptop. If you've been to school in New Orleans, you might know about the Neutral Ground. This is the closest cafe I've found to capturing the personality of that perfect place.

Came here for the bottomless brunch on a Sunday. We received the bottomless brunch as a gift. As we walked in, we were greeted by the bar tender / server. Very enthusiastic and friendly. We sat at the tables in the main room behind the bar and there were plenty of TV’s to watch Sunday football. Our server was also very friendly taking our order promptly. We started with catfish bites which were surprisingly lite in batter and piping hot. We also ordered the seafood burrito and crab cake Benedict. Both very large in portion. The potatoes were nice and crispy too. Three different mimosas to choose from… orange, pineapple and cranberry. The mimosas come in a large glass. The service is what really stood out on this Sunday football day. Not sure how dinner will be but it was not busy around 1pm when we went. Also want to try the other food next time.

We got the Philly cheesesteak and salmon sandwich and both were amazing. The drink was delicious and large and great deal. Overall will be back. This was my first time ever having a seafood boil. Blue Water Crab in Milpitas set the bar high. We ordered the 3 lbs crab boil with medium flavor. It came loaded with garlic, rich flavor, truly finger licking good. I am not a clam guy but every bite had flavor. The shrimp were tasty. The corn and potatoes were juicy, cooked just right. We also tried the coconut shrimp plus crab cakes, both came out delicious without feeling too heavy. A couple of cold beers made it a perfect meal. I will be back.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a gentleman who set a positive tone, but the service soon declined. Our waitress was initially pleasant, but after delivering our food, she was rarely seen, which meant my daughter couldn't get a water refill as she found the food a bit spicy. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, yet we had to wait to catch the waitress's attention for basic requests like a to-go box and the bill. While the food was good, the overall dining experience was marred by the lack of attentive service. With a more attentive staff, this place could be elevated from good to great. It might be fine for a laid-back meal, but for those expecting prompt service, consider other venues. If the service improves, it would certainly be worth revisiting.

While the atmosphere and service were fun and inviting, the food was disappointing. We ordered the lobster roll, crab cake entree and child's spaghetti. The child's spaghetti was the only hit. The crab cake entree was oily and salty. When we mentioned it to the staff, the manager gladly took the entree off of our bill. The lobster was not as fresh as we hoped it would be. It tasted previously frozen and the roll was soggy. My husband took the lobster meat and put it in the bisque instead and that tasted good. This would probably be good place for just drinks and appetizers.

TLDR: Go for the beer, bonus points if you love fries. Be forewarned, when we were there, the food menu was burgers and fries *only*. That said, they're damn good burgers and fries, just don't expect other options. Beer options were excellent. I enjoyed the Imperial Stout from Russian River and my wife liked the hard seltzer from someone or other. No frills, but did have TVs with football on. Beer, burgers, and football means I'd go back.

Came here for drinks after work. There is ample space, and when we came around 5:30 on a Friday, there weren’t many people yet, but by the time we left, it was packed. I can see why because it provides a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. The service is super friendly and I liked their selection of drinks. We chose to sit outside for some fresh air. The succulents on the wall and the string lights were cute. I’ve been here before to eat spicy chicken sandwiches, but for now, it seems like the only things on their menu are the duck fat fries and the Smashburger. The Smashburger is simple and savory. It really is smashed; the meat is flat and it looks like it’s almost a cheese crisp. The fries were crispy and delicious. They are thick and crinkle cut. I really loved their garlic aïoli because it really packs a spicy punch. You can also ask for spicy ketchup. I paired this with the Board Meeting beer. It’s a brown ale that looks like a stout/porter. I’m not sure if the food here is rotated or anything, but I would love to come back!

Nice outdoor “patio” despite TV not working. The not-working TV is forgivable due to the staff truly not neglecting us as the only people on the patio. It has the tap beer one would expect at a sports bar restaurant. The great highlight is the food, I had some of the best potstickers in this mixed-cuisine restaurant and also enjoyed some of my friend’s jalapeño calamari. I enjoyed that big Cobb Salad which was deliciously nourishing. Most of all, I had the New York Cheesecake dessert with a good amount of fresh berries. That cheesecake dessert was one true case maker for any theory claiming that cheesecake was invented as a vehicle for kids to eat their berries. DELICIOUS!!!!

Pretty good finger food. The orange chicken was very tasty. We were able to snatch a seat near the bar even though they told us there would be a 2hour wait 😂

Spacious, albeit rather bare, rooms spread over two floors + roof top with DJ Set Up. Well-mixed long drinks and cocktails. The staff is very attentive and speaks English, Spanish, and German. The garlic fries are highly recommended!

I am rating this bar a 5 simply because of the amazing service we received from Rinada. She was kind and helpful and made the BEST lemon drop I had in my life!!! Honorable mention is Robin with the stache and lushes locks, come for the lemon drops and lushes locks 🫶🏼

There was no wait on a Saturday at 6 pm. The staff was friendly and attentive. Quality of the food wasn't outstanding, but the service more than made up for it. It's a great place to get friends together and share small plates. They turn the restaurant into more of a nightclub after 10:30.

We were lucky to get a table as this place had three private parties going on. We managed to eat in the outdoor tent area which was cooler than inside but still ok. We each ordered appetizer size food and was a perfect amount for the not so hungry. Prawns were cooked perfectly and paired well with the mixed greens. Our waitress, Nicole, wasn’t so great. She poured a taste of wine and left the table with our bottle for all of us to pour ourselves. She was not attentive and seemed very quick to try and run away from us. We will be back for the food and hope we don’t sit in her section.

Honestly, this place has always been mid and the bouncers are real selective about who they allow in often based solely on appearance like tattoos or some other arbitrary thing. As if this place was such an exclusive hang or something, it's kinda funny 🤦🏾‍♂️

Ludwig's German Table is a lively and spirited pub that offers an authentic German dining experience. The contemporary interior and outdoor beer garden provide a welcoming atmosphere for visitors to enjoy traditional German dishes, pastries, and a wide selection of drinks. From schnitzel to grilled sausages, apple strudel to aged ale, the menu caters to every taste.
The Mac and cheese was amazing and it's a must try. I loved it. The pretzel balls in mushroom sauce were very good too. The sauce was rich and creamy. The pretzel we got from the appetizer menu was so soft and warm. As per my German friend, the vegetarian dishes we had here are very authentic. You have great beer options here.

Great beer garden with delicious, super light and flavorful German beers! nice shared table policy, and they accept dogs in the beer garden. The food is also delicious. The only thing I missed was a "sausage board" of some kind.

Had the Jager schnitzel and a cherry cider, they went really well together. The mushroom sauce was just about perfect. Followed up with an apple strudel for dessert. It was so much food and so good. The waiter, Anders I believe, was very friendly and came by frequently to check on everyone. Plenty of outdoor seating. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Last Friday, I tried this place, and I had the most beautiful time and service there! I didn't make a reservation, so they only have tables in the restaurant area, but I didn't mind, and let me tell you, the restaurant area (upstairs) atmosphere is lovely! The decoration, attention to detail, and services are more than friendly -you feel special (as you should) there. I enjoyed: - Jager Fries (creamy mushroom sauce, baked with gruyere cheese- Cheese Croquettes (spicy lingonberry aioli) - Sausage bites - Sausage Plate (comes with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut) - Apfelstrudel If you want to have a great time with friends, family, or yourself, go for it!

Love this place and come regularly. The food is great and flavorful. The beer selection is smaller than other places but everyone I’ve tried has been very good quality. I recommend the pretzel, the vegan option, and the curryworst. All high quality and great flavors. Must stop. It is also dog friendly!

I came here with high hopes for the food and beer and I can say with 100% honesty that this is one of the most authentic German experiences I've ever had outside of actually being in Germany. The food was excellent, the beers served in the correct glassware, and the atmosphere was welcoming thanks to the owner's friendly attitude and attention to his patrons. I'd give Ludwig's 6 stars if I could.

We visited today for the first time and were not disappointed! The draft beers were fresh and cold, the pretzels perfectly made and the sausages delicious! They are very COVID-19 conscious/safe, have hand sanitizer readily available for you at the table and no-contact menu/ordering/payment. We were served quickly, the food was very fresh and the service was amazing! We would definitely return!

Great authentic German food and drink. The placemat even came from Germany! I had the pork schnitzel my husband had the chicken schnitzel schnitzel and my son had the hamburger. Restaurant
Blush Raw Bar Lounge offers a unique dining experience with its sushi, oysters, and seafood small plates paired with creative cocktails. The warehouse-like space features an outdoor patio where guests can enjoy their meals next to the historic Peralta Adobe. The restaurant is known for its accommodating service, as seen when the owner went out of his way to ensure a gluten-free order was safe to eat. Guests have praised the gorgeous staff and delicious offerings such as tuna tartare, oysters, and sake.
The sushi was amazing. The Lava rolls are my favorite. Definitely recommend. Moderately priced. Great atmosphere. Great music. Great for groups. Can't go wrong with this place.

Very cool place. Staff is gorgeous, including the guys shucking and plucking. Got a tuna tartare, a spoon appetizer, a dozen oysters, and some sake. All beautifully presented and all delicious. . May have been a little busy or something but service was decent at best. But pretty lol 😂🤷🏾‍♀️

This place is awesome. I ordered sushi gluten free and the owner working the floor let me know the sushi was made with vinegar and not safe to eat. He went to the neighboring vietnamese restaurant to get safe rice to accomodate my order. I was so impressed with the way they went above and beyond to accomodate my needs. The food was really good as was beverage selection available. I would definitely recommend this place especially because the owner is so invested in quality service!
Candice M — Google review
Food: the sushi is sub par. Not overly diverse menu. Don’t go for the range of sushi options. The quality of the sushi ordered was adequate for the price charged. Right to left: spicy tuna, hickory, the dragon. Btw the chopsticks suck. Atmosphere: it is rather loud so having conversation is not overly easy without having to constantly repeat yourself. Service: is slow. The wait staff seems otherwise distracted. Getting water refilled is a challenge.

The vodka in the standard blush drink tasted a little cheap- it tastes much better if you get the $2 substitution for a better vodka. The waitress was very nice and offered to take the blush drink off the tab as my friend really disliked it and didnt drink it.

5 stars don't come easy. I travel a LOT as an engineer so I'm in a lot of diff restaurants. This place was cool... came in mid-week... food was excellent and the service was really cool... attentive, polite, and real (hate fake nice). So came back tonight on a Friday... get this... service is still cool and attentive... and the food is spot on! And, multiple people stop by to see how the meals going and if I need anything. Like the teamwork. Had oysters, the mango ceviche so far... both excellent! Check it out... couple different options for atmosphere between the bar, sushi bar, and outdoor seating with outdoor couches, etc. Nice vibe!

Nestled in the vibrant SoFA district, Britannia Arms Almaden stands out as a quintessential English-themed pub that perfectly blends casual charm with lively entertainment. This popular watering hole is not just about delicious pub grub; it’s a hub for live music, trivia nights, and even beer pong. The atmosphere buzzes with energy, especially on weekends when local rock musicians often gather to unwind after rehearsals or gigs.
We dropped by this place on a Friday afternoon 3pm for a couple of happy hour beers. Friendly courteous staff provided service expediently. Good drinks, snacks and vibe at this neighborhood pub.

Hosted an event here and the staff was PHENOMENAL. The coordinating of the event with Julia was effortless and smooth. The staff that evening was exceptional at taking our groups food and drink orders and making sure we were well cared for. We will be back! We also had some appetizers for the event that were perfect. The fruit platter was amazing and all the fruit was sweet and perfectly ripe! That's rare for a fruit platter anywhere... Potato skins and chips and guac were delicious as well!

If you're looking for a proper British fish and chips experience, this is, unfortunately, not it. You get steak fries, the fish was fine but not amazing, the atmosphere was just a sports bar. I think it would have been better sitting outside, but still the food was average and the prices were surprisingly high. Just cooking real chips from potatoes would really elevate this and make it much better I think. Overall not terrible, but not what I was looking for!
Robert A — Google review
We were looking forward to enjoying some potato skins along with traditional English fare. We arrived around 5 PM, and the restaurant was not very crowded, possibly due to a graduation party wrapping up. We ordered a Diet Coke, a beef Cornish pastie, and sweet potato fries as a substitute for the mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, my Diet Coke was overlooked, and the pastie arrived with mashed potatoes instead of the sweet potatoes I requested. The biggest disappointment was that the potato skins were unavailable, which made us wonder if they might be pre-frozen and reheated. On a positive note, I appreciated that they substituted my mashed potatoes as requested. Additionally, since the drink was forgotten, I didn’t end up being charged for it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the beef pastie was quite tasty and generously sized.
Lynda T — Google review
I’ve been here twice. Food is pretty much “bar food”, so don’t have high expectations. I knew it’s not going the best meal ever….!!! Of course combine that with British culinary and you know you’re not eating anything special. The bangers are usually the ordinary sausage and chips are potato fries. Last time I had the stake and kidney which I regret ordering it. This time I thought I’ll try something else. I didn’t have the Shepherds pie but I’ve heard from others it’s not that great. We ordered four different meals. The stake sandwich looked ok. The Cornish pastie was super dry and we had to ask for extra Garvey and that didn’t help either. Same thing with the chicken pot pie it was too dry. The side veggies were steamed. I usually pick on my family’s dishes when there’s veggies but these looked nothing appetizing so I didn’t even bother tasting them. I ordered the Patti melt which I think it was the most better looking of all four meals and yet not the best Patti melt out there. The Patti was much smaller than the rye bred and the bread was somewhat to the burned side and greasy. I ordered a side salad but the lettuce was old and turning yellowish red around the edges. I ate my food because I was hungry but I don’t think I would order food at this place again. If it wasn’t for my family, I would r even go there again. Service was very slow but the waitress was new and she apologized for being new and not familiar with everything.

EMC Seafood & Raw Bar is a contemporary restaurant and raw bar offering a diverse selection of seafood in a modern and lively setting. With locations near popular attractions like the San Jose Golf Course and Lake Cunningham Action Sports Park, this restaurant provides a casual and relaxed atmosphere, debunking the notion that seafood dining is always upscale.
Tried this place while strolling around in Santana Row. Food was delicious. Got the garlic edamame, grilled sunset oysters, fish tacos and salmon fried rice. Liked everything that we ordered. The portion sizes were pretty decent too. Would recommend!

Excited for a later happy hour (shout out for having it til 6pm), but the experience was meh overall. The service is always a struggle, having to ask for our drink (singular) multiple times as well as one of our dishes that took ages to come out. The drink itself was great (a spicy Bloody Mary), and the food was mixed. The sushi rolls were fine - not great, not terrible. Generally, a good amount of meat and didn’t overdo it on the rice amount, but nothing overly fancy or flavorful. The show stopper was the dry rub wings. Six wings, and they were massive. SO flavorful, juicy, super crunchy, and totally worth the double fry. Some of the happy hour items are a good deal, while others aren’t, it’s a mix. Just go in with minimal expectations and you’ll be fine.

Wow! I came here for the happy hour and our table was never empty. We kept ordering more and more food like we had a “hollow leg”. I loved the dishes that had truffle as fries and truffle salmon roll. There is plenty to choose from their happy hour menu. All staff members were very accommodating. Chris, our server, made our birthday celebration very special. We went on a Saturday, so there was a lot to see and hear when walking around The Row. Check out the all day happy hour on Monday and Thursday.

Uni Pasta It is creamy with house-made pasta that had a great texture. Definitely a standout dish! Manila Clams It cooked with white wine, butter, and bacon. I couldn’t taste the wine and felt like they added a bit too many herbs. It wasn’t my favorite dish. Food was on point, but unfortunately, the service didn’t quite live up to the quality of the dishes. It wasn’t bad, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

I recommend going elsewhere on Santana Row. I had oysters and the branzino; my friend had the salmon. Oysters were good. But our main dishes, we agreed, were quite flavorless. We left disappointed. The price is also pretty outrageous for what we got. It came to ~$90 per person. Overall this is not a place I'd recommend. To make matters worse, we both fell ill a few days later. While I can't say for sure it was from our dinner at EMC, I suspect it was.

1. The Branzino Fish - was too good - we ordered it twice on the same day! Must try! All the google reviews mentioned and it was worth it! 2. Nest Dessert - was also very good! 3. Meso’s Brick Chicken - was very well cooked and soft, it is mild in spices but flavourful but cannot beat the fish! 4. Mutton Flatbread- Mutton was very well cooked and tasty, perfect spices and taste. 6. Trio Dip - Okay 7. Mushroom flatbread - okaish 8. Brussel Sprouts - can skip 9. Sautéed Prawns - Very flavourful, perfectly cooked and juicy - will recommend. 10. Passion Fruit Ginger Soda Drink - Good - not too sweet- perfect for my taste. The only con is limited menu - only one chicken dish. Hospitality - was top notch, staff recommended good options to us and food was quickly served. Very transparent on timing and other details. We did not feel rushed even at a 8.45 PM reservation on a Friday night. Vibe was pretty good and lit!

Beautiful atmosphere inside and out. We sat outside and there were plenty of shady cozy spots. Service was excellent, very attentive wait staff who came to the table often to check in. The food was very tasty, and flavorful. Green eggs and lamb, was filling with the chili hot sauce it made it even better. The Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and have great flavor. The spritzer drinks were also very refreshing. I would come back for sure . The only thing that was a bit annoying was the online menu was not what was available, because we had dishes that we wanted to try based from the online menu and they were only available during the week. However the food and service made up for it.

Tried this place for the first time. The ambience was lovely and inviting, but the food was a bit underwhelming. We ordered the five-dip appetizer and Brussels sprouts, which was good. For the main course, we had the mushroom flatbread and green goddess pasta, both were just okay. Service felt a little rushed, as the mains came out right after the appetizers, but the staff was responsive and took them back when we mentioned the table was too crowded.

Great food! Great vibe, especially if you take the outdoor seating on a nice day or evening. Service was average, but maybe a little slow. Because of the outdoor seating perhaps?? Here’s what we had. The Mezze Platter appetizer was three dips, hummus, tzatziki, and I forgot the third. These were served with soft pita bread and crispy fried bread chips. All good for mixing and matching. Then first main course was a whole fried fish. I believe it was grilled. Very tasty and quite a lot of meat, believe it or not. So good! And half chicken on a bed of greens. It sounds basic but it was moist and just enough salt to make it tasty. Excellent. We really enjoy the outdoor seating. It’s on the west de facing the top of Santana Row so it’s lively and energetic. It’s well kept and they even had more cushiony seats right next to us. Kind of like patio furniture. I feel the best times to come are spring and summer to get the entire vibe.

I was really impressed by this Mediterranean spot and I’m so happy we have it in the south Bay. The meatballs were to die for and all the dishes really complimented each other. The service is great. Tacolicious is a fantastic spot for a lively night out, perfect for families and friends alike. With an inviting ambiance and friendly staff, this eatery offers a delightful array of tacos that are sure to please any palate. Guests rave about the fried avocado and chicken tacos, as well as the fish and carnitas options. The complimentary nachos served with salsa add an extra touch of enjoyment to your meal.
We found this place by accident because the original restaurant we wanted to go had a long line. But thank heavens we went here Instead. The food was really good and ambiance very nice. They have vegetarian options too which was great. We ordered one taco each with different flavors and it wasn't enough! You might want to get the triple taco deals as they are perfect for you will want to eat more after your first bite.

A quick place to grab lunch if you are in or around Santana Row. Place looks pretty busy during dinner. Specializes in tacos but has other options like salads on the menu. Decent choice of cocktails and drinks. Food and drinks are presented well. Food is a bit on the blander side. Plenty of free parking available in the garage close by.

Great tasting tacos and chips. Guacamole is made at the restaurant. The fish tacos are very good. I enjoy the various sauces that accompany the tacos. Recommend dining in as you get chips and salsa. The pricing is more than what you might get at a street cart, but it is also Santana Row.

The pics may look fine but other than its blend taste, the restaurant is quite chaos and unsanitized. I have to change my drinking glass three times in the first 5 min I sit down. Every time they give me a dirty one. Some with food residues floating in the water. Some with leaf remaining on the glass. Really bad first impression. And their food is just on the OK side so it's not enough to save its reputation.

Very friendly staff, quick service and good tasting tacos. We had 1 fish taco and 4 carnitas, as well as kids quesadilla. All well made and came quickly and hot. I really enjoyed the salsa..it has just the right amount of spice and mint for freshness. Variety of other salsas served with tacos was also very good, I like the habonero salsa..nice heat but not overwhelming.

Food and drinks here are fairly good for Santana Row. Had fish and steak tacos. Service was slow even though the restaurant was not even half full on a Saturday. Not recommended if you're in a hurry. (Yes, the chips and salsa are great as mentioned by other reviewers)

Wonderful place for a night out. I went here with my family and we ordered fried avocado tacos and chicken ting (?) tacos. Both were delicious. We didn’t try any cocktails so cannot rate them. I’ve to also comment on the free nachos that are served. Delish! Must visit. One star less because of the loud music, can keep the volume a bit less and no option for hard shell tacos. Otherwise 👍👍👍 “Thank you for the clarification Mr./Ms. Owner. I specifically had asked for hard shell tacos but the server said it’s not available. Not a criticism, just telling you why I mentioned it in the review. Regardless, you can count on us for being regulars. Thank you for a fun evening.”

Tacos were great!!! Pricey! What was odd for me was that the Tap beer was 17oz.(very odd size, usually everyone does 16 oz.) and when we received our beers it did not look 17oz, as glass(full of water in the pic) was kind of small. I had a 16.9oz water bottle with me so I poured my full water bottle into my empty beer glass. And yes, I was right water overflowed for atleast 2oz. Talked to the waitress and she answered that she only works there :).

Seafood restaurant
Pacific Catch is a casual seafood restaurant with a patio and bar. The menu features globally influenced seafood, and the staff are friendly and efficient. The food arrives hot and all meals cost between $10-15. The Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken dish was very tasty, as was the dessert. We would recommend Pacific Catch to anyone looking for a relaxed seafood experience in an accessible location.
My friend and I had a blast here! Everything went well from the service, ordering process, the ambience to the freshness of the food and fantastic drink and dessert! This Pacific Catch location is conveniently located in the Pruneyard, next to Marshall and Trader Joe’s side of the plaza. Parking was reasonably available. We went there on a Monday night at 7pm and the place was pleasantly not crowded at all. We loved that we were greeted warmly and then seated promptly at one of the most beautiful places in the restaurant - in the heated patio and next to the cool blue-light “fireplace”. But honestly everywhere in this restaurant is pretty! I love the vaulted ceiling with statement rattan lights hanging off it. Our server Zach was attentive yet gave us some space and time. He also gave us some suggestions on which drinks to order, which we appreciated. We opted for the Trio Sampler, which had original ahi tuna poke, Serrano ahi poke and Baja shrimp poke, and the West Coast style salmon. We dived into our food as soon as they came out. The dishes were aesthetically presented. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and healthy. We were surprised to find the brown quinoa rice (which came with the grilled salmon dish) were soft and flavorful. The salmon was delicious with the right amount of moisture and flavorings. The Trio Sampler also held a candle to the grilled salmon dish. We couldn’t decide which poke we loved the best as we finished them all LOL Zach was smart to present the dessert menu to us in the middle of our meal so we knew to pace ourselves. After not much of the debate, my friend and I picked the Hula Brownie Sundae, which was another highlight of the night. The brownie was moist and had that night balance of bitterness of chocolate and sweetness from the cake. We loved how coconut shreds and macadamia nuts complemented each other nicely and made the entire dessert an epic. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meals and the experience. We’ll definitely come back soon!

Pacific Catch in Campbell offers a vibrant mix of Pacific-inspired seafood in a casual yet polished setting. Located in the Pruneyard Shopping Center, it’s a popular spot for lunch or dinner, with dishes like the Guaca-Poke starter, fish taco trio, and seared Ahi burger standing out for their freshness and flavor. The menu leans toward sustainable ingredients and bold flavors, and the service is generally friendly and attentive — especially when dining indoors. Outdoor seating is available, though it can be breezy and slower-paced. The atmosphere is lively, sometimes bordering on noisy during peak hours, and parking can be a challenge. While most dishes are well-prepared, a few — like the spicy noodle bowls or certain taco platters — have received mixed feedback for portion size or seasoning. Still, the variety of options, including gluten-free and vegetarian choices, makes it easy to find something satisfying. Happy Hour deals and half-price wine nights add extra value for return visits.

food here is solid... usually come for happy hour as that is the best value. the shrimp tacos are delish. I've tried the ahi poke with chips twice and eh, it's just okay. i always enjoy their agave margaritas.

Great drinks at happy hour and food was flavourful and delicious. I don’t often see Korean food mixed in with American so it was a pleasant (and delicious) surprise!

I am a creature of habit and I always get the Korean BBQ rice bowl, which is delicious, but tonight I decided to try something new and it was absolutely delicious! Sorry for the picture not being great but I had already started eating it! I ordered the macadamia nut covered grilled sea bass with Arugula corn salad and purple sweet potato. Everything was delicious! I will definitely order this entrée again! I've never tried purple sweet potato before but it was really sweet and yummy! The sea bass was a nice portion size with a generous amount of macadamia nuts on top and the Arugula corn salad with chunks of nectarine was delicious! Highly recommend this entrée! 😋

There are some fish options; not too much though. You can combine with different sides; definitely recommending the sprouts.

The area is known for its hip street art and cultural institutions like the San Jose Museum of Art and Institute of Contemporary Art. Nearby landmarks include the Winchester Mystery House and Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum.
Great restaurant with a vibrant ambience and nice location. It's in the heart of downtown San Jose. The staff is extremely friendly, we were 30 mins late from the reservation time but they warmly accommodated us. Food was great. We have shrimp, risotto, pizza, chicken wings and a nice chocolate whipped dessert. Food was really nice minus the chicken wings. We sent it back and the server was very cordial about it. Shrimp and risotto were the highlights. Their bar area is super nice with comfortable seating. There is an underground multi level parking at 2 mins walk. Overall a great location, services were great and staff was very friendly, I would go back again!

Interesting restaurant, we had dinner here during a Monday and almost ordered the entire menu, food was fresh and we liked most of it, like most of the US though most of it is fried / deep fried with not many options for people on a diet. I really recommend the Aranchini and the salads, the Steak took some time to get to our table and was OK, a bit too overcooked for my taste. Pricing was high and if you're not from the US you'll be surprised the the extras, we had a large group fee 20% added to our bill as we were a group of 6, there was a normal tax added and another San Jose 6% tax on top, all of this was before adding the Tip. Last call for food order was 20:00 which was early I guess. See photos for all the meal options

The food and drinks were good, with plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. The ambiance was fantastic—warm and inviting without being overly crowded during our visit. However, I’m taking away one star because our server didn’t inform us when the kitchen closed. We were looking forward to dessert, only to find out it was no longer available when we tried to order. A small detail, but it would’ve made the experience that much better.

Nice large outdoor dining area. We came by for a light dinner after going to a show in the area. Lots of great options. We ended up getting deviled eggs, whipped burrata, and elote corn. Everything tasted great and service was good! Will definitely come back to check out the other options we didn't get to try.

The ordering service was OK at first, but then there was no service at all, even no one refilled the water. The food was nice, but the portions were small, suitable as a drink companion rather than a main course.

We stopped by during their Dine Downtown promo.. I tried the Elote (fried street corn), Caesar salad, and lemon risotto all flavorful and satisfying. My friend went with a classic burger. For cocktails we had the Detox which was refreshing. Overall, the food was good and the vibe was relaxed.

Stopped by for drinks on a Friday evening. 2 of us had: saturn $16 fieldwork hazy train $10 6% mandate We sat a the bar. Relatively empty. Didn't have any food. Drinks were fine. Nice ambiance. Park in one of the garages that allow for free 2 hours, or just find street parking.

District is a pretty solid spot to grab a bite (especially later at night). The deviled eggs were absolutely incredible right off the bat, and the rest of the food was also quite good. The restaurant itself was nice and spacious, with plenty of seating. It wasn’t overly loud either. My one complaint was the service… it wasn’t like anyone was rude to us or anything. The issue was more that everything took ages. Even stuff as simple as getting refills on water. That said, the staff was all friendly and the food was good. I’d absolutely come back.

The taproom hosts events like Paint Nite and regularly welcomes food trucks. Since its establishment in 2014, Strike Brewing Co.
Great beer, great staff, solid food trucks. What more can you ask for? Affordable beers $6-8 a pint compared to the $13 a pint nearby. Worth checking out, solid IPAs on

Really good beer and friendly staff. Dog friendly. Beer was also very good. The Churro Beer was great as was the popcorn. The building isn’t conducive for an outdoor area but that was really the only thing lacking. It also has two really nice sized TVs if you are looking for a game to watch.
Adam R — Google review
First time checking out this brewery. The churro beer was really unique and worth trying. I expected the passionfruit hard seltzer to be more sour than sweet but it was really sweet. Luckily the beertender was super nice and offered to swap or turn it into a shandy. Shandy was a big improvement. My partner liked the two seams IPA. Great food from Jake's too.

Visited this past Thursday for the third time. As usual the brewery is like a sauna inside sweltering hot inside and all the beer is warm. Nothing worse than warm beer especially drinking IPAs and stouts. Food vendors are the best part! Hopefully you can fix your refrigeration system and install some air conditioning so people will stay. I've noticed most people come and buy beer in cans cuz it's probably colder lol

Came by back in Jan'23, on a Sunday afternoon around 3PM to catch up with a friend. Had one of their Hazy's. Literally no one else was there, so it was nice to just have a quiet setting to catch up. Located in San Jose, California, Camino Brewing Co. and Beer Garden was founded by Nathan Poulos and Allen Korenstein after their journey along the Camino de Santiago trail in Europe. The brewery features a spacious covered beer garden perfect for warm afternoons. Their flagship beers include the flavorful Cafe con Leche milk stout brewed with single-origin beans from Chromatic Coffee Roasters and the balanced Pale Rider pale ale with a delightful bitterness from grapefruit zest.
Best brewery around, no need to go further downtown! * Definitely worth the drive if you're not in the neighborhood! The beer is amazing, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is really cozy! They have a couple of people coming over to cook at night. Oxtail, Philipino-Mexican fusion based menu was on the night we went and it was incredibly good. It would have been worth coming just for the food. The outdoor sitting is cozy and much appreciated given the current situation. The staff is really nice and bring the whole thing together!

The patio is nice. The beer is better than in other breweries and the food is ok. They have good tacos if you compare them to other places, but super expensive for street food. I had a good time but I don't know if I want to go often. I think I can get better beer and food for a better price elsewhere.

Camino brewing was our Sunday selection for a drink in the afternoon and were not disappointed, nice place that seems to be under remodeling, but still, patio was very nice with cool music and shade for the afternoon sun. Beers were great, had a couple Hazy IPAs, did not try the food from the food truck which is mexican but looked tasty, probably next visit. Worth a visit if you are around the area

I've been here several times...and I totally forgot!! Camino Brewing was even a stop on a Beer tour for one of my friend's birthday!! Total Brainfart! I completely forgot about this place! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, fast and efficient. Parking can be challenging, I'm not sure if there is a lot on the back... In the front it's definitely street parking...and good luck with that! The inside is simple, elegant and spacious, not impressively large by any means. However, I don't remember the massive outdoor Beer Garden and I also didn't know one could get Tacos here: Camino Brewing Co. is also the home of Cardenas tacos. A great compliment to some great beer. Check out his IG page for more details: IG: cajetasjbayarea Some brilliant beer I chugged: (that I can remember) ~ BEER SLUSHEES! AGUA FRESCA - CUCUMBER MINT LIME - GOSE - 4/5 ~ JAMES STAR - DOUBLE RYE IPA - 4/5 ~ FRUIT CUP - DOUBLE HAZY IPA - 4/5 Don't forget to try the Beer Suushee! I didn't know of such a thing...very interesting! One can also take a Brewery Tour here as well, the staff is very chill and are happy to oblige. This is also one of the few breweries I've been to that had Female Master Breweres...at least that I know off. Great job ladies! Looking forward to returning and trying the Rioja! No release date as yet... (time I write this review)

Wonderful courtyard beer garden, friendly staff with attentive service. We tried the 7 beers on tap flight.vi particularly love the pilsner and the Northeast by West IPA. Millie's tacos and Lumpias really hit the spot and went down perfectly with the brews. Two thumbs up.
DANNY L — Google review
The host last night was extremely polite and attentive. Honestly he was really the only 'nice' person I interacted with all evening. The picture of the beer is supposed to be their Pilsner. Notice it is cloudy, when I asked about it the person dropping off the drink said yes, that's the Pilsner it just pours like that. The brewer should be ashamed if that is standard. The food from the pop up was nice yet over priced, $10 for two tacos. Seating was also odd as I was alone and sat at the end of a wagon outdoors with no way to interact with anyone. Probably will not go back. Thanks for the effort.
George P — Google review
This place has great beer, a stellar outdoor space, and awesome on-site tacos. My husband and I needed a venue to hold our laid-back wedding "reception" and happened upon Camino, and now we just keep going back (for more beer :). And let me say, if you have a chance to hold an event here, they are amazing. They were incredibly accommodating to us as we planned, and continued to be super attentive during the event. Big shout out to everyone on their team for making the day one to remember. We had a lot of people leave our party saying "I wish I'd done something like this" and we couldn't have done it without Camino!

Atmosphere is great, beers are tasty, beer tenders are extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and more good beers. I had the Fruit Cup IPA and Sunny Upon 1st St. both beers aren’t as strong and not overpowering. Parking isn’t great, but you can park under the bridge (parking lot).

Step into the world of vintage glamour at Haberdasher, a hidden below-ground bar in San Jose that exudes the charm of a 1920s speakeasy. The bartenders, dressed in dapper 1920s attire, skillfully craft cocktails as you relax on velvety banquettes. This establishment also houses the Bootleggers Whiskey Syndicate, offering a selection of coveted bottles to its patrons.
This place was excellent. Cocktails were top notch. Accommodated a large party late. Service was at the bar which some might not like but I like talking to the people making the drinks
Chris L — Google review
I wouldn’t call this hidden or a speakeasy because it’s easily accessible from the street. Although there’s no name on the outside, just a logo of a hat and tie. For sure speakeasy vibe. The servers are all dressed in true Haberdasher theme with a measuring tape around their neck. Inside has the dim underground lighting. We stopped for one drink and I couldn’t make up my mind. So many great choices. We got Pagoda and Putter Up. The Pagoda has the green basil drops that almost look like mold!..haha very tasty. The Putter Up was with scotch. Too strong for me. They have tables, booths and high top tables. There’s a glass case in the back full of high end premium spirits. You can join $25 monthly membership to get 5 rare tastings a month.

Big thumbs up on the friendly service, cozy environment, and top-notch cocktails! Went here with a friend last night (Friday) around 8pm. Already getting crowded but we still found a cozy place to sit and could hear each other pretty well. Can't say enough about the friendly, welcoming, and talented staff and wish I had gotten their names so I could better recognize them here. The doorman was genuinely warm and instantly made us feel welcome (though I was amused he even requested to check the ID of 50something gray-haired me :D). The bartender closest to the entrance immediately and warmly welcomed us as well. Two different bartenders served us and both were friendly, engaging, and clearly talented at their craft. My friend and I tried four very different cocktails and all were great! I do wish they served food other than just nuts here; while in fairness there's a food hall just around the corner with a decent variety of options, it would have been nice to sip the cocktails alongside food. Re pricing: most of the cocktails are $17 + tax + tip, though their cocktails on draft (!) range from $12-16. EDITED TO ADD: Disappointed to discover that Haberdasher calculates the tip as a percentage of the purchase PLUS taxes. I get why places do this (obviously), but it just doesn't seem very fair.
Adam L — Google review
Their bartenders make great drinks! I wish that their interior was more decorated and felt more like a British speakeasy pub.

This is our favorite spot! We've been here plenty of times and I wonder how I haven't written a review. This place is fantastic; from its vibe to their cocktails to their incredible service. We come here for date nights and special occasions and it hasn't let us down. My favorites include the Mango Tango and Tally Me Banana but recently learned that although I'm not a huge fan of coffee flavors, the Back in Black is also amazing. If you love craft cocktails, you can't go wrong here. The downstairs going into dark lighting and red walls really add a nice touch to a date night as well.

Our drinks were amazing and we loved our bartender. She would give you samples to make sure you liked the drink she created before you committed. She would also get to know your taste and recommend drinks. Best drinks we had downtown all night.

Favorites: Born Again Cajun & Kodak moment. Hidden gem in downtown San jose. It is an absolutely amazing cocktail bar. It is an underground place and has exotic drinks. A couple of tips: they don't have food, just some nuts as snacks, and they check every single person ID.

MINIBOSS is a one-of-a-kind arcade bar in San Jose that offers a nostalgic experience for gaming enthusiasts. The venue boasts a wide array of vintage arcade games and pinball machines, including popular themes like Deadpool, Star Wars, and Stranger Things. Guests can immerse themselves in the retro ambiance while enjoying craft cocktails with creative gaming-inspired names. The industrial Hapas Brewery nearby provides an excellent option for beer aficionados, while Paper Plane offers artisanal cocktails.
A friend and I went to this place a couple nights ago, and was both of our first times going to a bar. There was a good selection of Halloween-style cocktails, and my favorite was the Ziggy Starburst! The place filled up quickly on a Friday night. We didn’t actually get to play any of the arcade games, but there was a very wide selection.

Came here for a pinball tournament. It's a very nice bar and has several separate areas where there also video games along the walls. The pinball machines are in the back area where the food pickup area is. I ordered a Maitai from the front bar and it was really nice. The pins are very nice too, and they are well maintained. Priced very well @.75/gm 3 for 2.00. I didn't order food, so I cannot comment, but it looked good.

Was a fun vibe, my friends and I took some people to town on a driving game in a 3v3 which made our night! Only got a drink there, it was a spur, but it was alright! Bar prices are high but thats normal. But the vibe everywhere was great and the place was packed!

I don't frequent this bar often but when I do I have a great time. The drinks are delicious but on the pricey side. It's what you should expect from a crafted cocktail in San Jose. The staff was nice. I love the menu. It was fun, whimsical but tastefully presented. The bar itself is visually pleasing and beautifully lit. I think this would be a fantastic place to have a date. I went to 55 South in San Jose and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was chic and cozy, perfect for a night out. I ordered their signature cocktail and a steak, and both were excellent. All good vibes, except the smell on Bollywood nights. Continental should implement a strict anti-stink policy so if the patrons smell bad, they either have to wear the cologne (provided by bar) at the entrance, or they have to leave. The dance floor becomes unbearable with all the strong pungent sweaty smell 🤢

CHECK THEIR INSTA BEFORE COMING Been here several times and had great experiences, but this Sunday night at 10:15pm they’re suddenly Cash only $25 cover when the last 2 Sundays I came at 11pm, there was NO cover! It’s usually only $15 - $20 cover Fridays & Saturdays. Had to just home cause I didn’t have that much cash on me and didn’t have my card on me. Edit: I went to their insta and apparently there was a drag royalty meet and greet that day at 9pm. Dunno if she was still there when I tried to get in as there was no signage or anything said to indicate it wasn’t just a regular Sunday “Wet n’ Wild” drag show. I get you had to charge cover to book the queen, but could you at least update your website to say CASH ONLY, it’s 2025 y’all please!

Ps I’m not very confrontational but this time it was just needed. He didn’t allow my friend in because he didn’t have an “American ID” .

I had good fun here. However, I have an issue with their lost and found department. I left my jacket w/ earbuds inside there by accident on May 10th and they wouldn't let me back in because it was too late. I called the next day and the recorded message said they keep found items for 30 days. I return around 9pm on May 13th and the door staff tell me it's too busy for them to go check. I then return at 4pm on the 24th and was told they only keep found items for 1 week before donating them. So, because of this misinformation on their end, they very much could have donated my jacket...who knows.... If someone from the management could reach out, that would be great.

Last Monday I couldn't hear what security said and then he just yelled at me. Disrespectful. I didn't feel safe after that. And I am the only one who was searched by a metal detector. Other people complained too. Fire him or we will never come back.

As of 04/17/21 This bar is Open...It's just picking up, they have still the distance and mask restrictions. If you go around 7 is better you have more chances to get inside and stay there or else the have tables on the street. Good music. I started feeling kinda going back to normal.

Why bother to have a web presence if it’s useless? There was no response to my query about how to see any upcoming events. Why bother to make any plans to go to a SoSo club if you don’t have any idea what to expect? In the past every time we went the place had the atmosphere of a slaughterhouse barn. If there were any other places to be they would have gone out a long time ago… San Jose is one of the worst cities for the “community” I have ever seen! Three bars/clubs in a city this size is embarrassing!!!! But you don’t want my views on that matter!!!

The Vesper, located in downtown Campbell, is a popular neighborhood spot known for its refined New American small plates and creative craft cocktails. The lounge boasts an artsy and lively atmosphere with chic mismatched chairs, abstract color schemes, and vibrant art adorning the walls. The menu features a variety of stylish beverages categorized by liquor, including favorites like the Blue Hawaiian and Ainsley Fix.
This is our go to spot for a drink or two or three! Situated in downtown Campbell, the Vesper is best spot outside of Downtown San Jose to grab a pour of your favorite whiskey or we'll crafted mixed drink. For you bourbon enthusiasts reading this, you are going to love this place! A awesome selection of hard to find pours at VERY reasonable prices. ...and those pours are usually healthy ones! The food menu isn't extensive, but the dishes we've tried have been good to very good. The atmosphere is awesome, well laid out and plenty of seating. We usually like to sit at the bar, but even when seated at a table, you don't feel too far away from the action. Bar staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly.

A great place to relax and have fun with your friends. Cozy, elegant, small plates, and special drinks. Highly recommend it!

Pretty nice place. Lovely vibe and ambience, has a lounge like feel with a nice bar area and some good cocktails which my colleagues really liked. Would definitely recommend a stop in here especially for a cozy drink. They have a pretty good happy hour for drinks. I was not otherwise impressed with the food, which was presented well, however the flatbread was salty and other items not memorable (had the warm nuts, deviled eggs and hummus). I think the highlights were the attentive staff and the alcoholic drinks. I would stop by again for sure!

The atmosphere at The Vesper is so great. It gives a bit of red velvet speakeasy vibe. It’s intimate but also quite stuffy and hot in there. The service is slow but friendly. The food tastes great. Loved the white bean dip and the cocktails are pricey but taste great!

Loved the ambiance. Upper level seating is very cozy. A potential place for girl gang hangouts. Not many vegetarian options for food, but in general the menu is very lean. Drink menu is very creative though. Will definitely go again.
Rexety — Google review
Absolutely amazing service and delicious cocktails. I particularly enjoyed my mocktails that were absolutely divine. Ended up getting two of the same alcohol-less drinks — the Josie. Highly recommend! The service was excellent too.
Julie T — Google review
This place is the best for a Friday night drink after work. The appetizers on happy hour were delicious! And they accommodated for gluten free. The best part were the drinks. I kept getting the city drink- the one topped with wine- and will be back for this again. Vesper is a great spot but expect crowds and loud acoustics. Not the place for an intimate dinner but better for a Friday night out.
Nathalie D — Google review
Cocktails were decent. We had deviled eggs and prosciutto dates. Both were pretty bad. Eggs lacked flavor and dates just didn't work with the combination of the cheese and sauce. Overall, decent drinks, bad food.

Cocktail bar
Event venue
Nestled in the heart of San Jose, Five Points is a cocktail bar that transports you back to the 19th century with its warm, dimly lit ambiance and vintage decor. Drawing inspiration from the infamous New York neighborhood of the same name, known for its rich history of vice and cultural melting pot, this bar offers a unique blend of old-school charm and modern socializing. Guests can indulge in signature cocktails and classic drinks while savoring small plates that complement their experience.
The atmosphere was incredible, with a cool old-school vibe that made it feel unique. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they made some fantastic drinks. I tried a couple of their signature cocktails, and both were delicious – balanced and flavorful. The live music on Monday night was a nice touch, adding to the overall experience. The bar was busy, but the service was quick, and the staff handled it well. I’ll definitely be back for more great drinks and a fun time.

I was here for a private event and had a nice experience. LOCATION This bar is conveniently located near San Pedro's square (SPS). You can park in the SPS parking lot which provides 90 minutes of parking for free and only $1 for each additional 15 minutes. It's a short 5 minutes walk from the parking lot to the bar. AMBIANCE I like the spaciousness and warm decorated vibes that this place gives. Noise level is reasonable. Their restrooms are also clean and tidy. SERVICES Our server was attentive and made me one of the best Amaretto Sour drinks. Overall, I enjoy this place. Though I haven't tried any of their food item yet, I heard good things about them from my friends who've been here before. I'll definitely consider Five Points next time.

I don’t really do bad reviews but I was really upset about this business. We were having a 30 year birthday next door and want to continue our celebration at five points. We were a group of 8 Asian American girls but only had a bottle of champagne between the 8 of us. The bouncer declined our entrance and continued to let other people that were not Asian American that looks very intoxicated through the door. We asked why and the bouncer just simply said “no”. No explanation or anything.
Tiffany T — Google review
Cool bar with lots of seating. It has an old rustic vibe and on the night we visited there was live music which everyone was enjoying. Drink menu is standard with an in house cocktail menu that's special to the location. Good selection of wine as well. They could do with maybe one more server. Seemed a lot of one person to do but it was a Tuesday so perhaps a usually slow evening that was surprisingly busy.

I'm very shocked this was the only place in Dowtown SJ that did not accept me due to my outfit, basic cut sleeves shirt, jeans and shoes. Due to my outfit, I will need to cover my arms, so my friend lend his jacket and security/bouncer still did not want to let me in and told me to completely change. All I can say when someone looks ugly as a bouncer/security, they get will be hating on you since your very good looking. Customer service lost, all good. Just looking out for y'all.

We’ve visited Five Points twice now. Both times, I’ve enjoyed my cocktails, but the first time my husband wasn’t impressed with their old fashioned. This latest visit, however, was a turning point for him - he said the old fashioned was a little bit spicy in a way, which is unique and he really liked it. I think we’ll be adding this bar to our regular rotation

Good drinks and atmosphere - walking distance to the Sharks game and a nice stop prior to the game. We ended up getting a great booth on the back of the restaurant and it was a delightful experience. The service was also excellent. Revised / 5 stars when we arrived for service, atmosphere and the drinks but when the food came it was a solid 2 stars. Being gluten free, I had limited options and ordered the nacho fries. They came cold and not appetizing at all. Rounding up to 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ based on the other attributes but not a dinner destination for GF or even others.

I was looking for a restaurant with live music on a Monday night, I found five points, and I was thrilled. They had a live jazz/blues band that seemed to bring in different instrumentalist. It was so much fun to watch. I had the most delicious nacho fries. The drinks were really good, but had a lot of ice and they were playing the raider game on TV. My server was super nice and attentive. What an awesome night!

Capers Eat & Drink in Campbell is a vibrant spot offering a diverse menu of American dishes and creative cocktails, accompanied by live weekend music. The venue also serves as an ideal location for various events such as wedding rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, and corporate gatherings with the capacity to accommodate groups of up to 175 people. Guests can enjoy dining on the patio while using a QR code to access the menu and place orders via their phones.
I almost never write a review on google but mostly on yelp. My friend and I had never been here before, but we had great food, great service and her little pooch could hang out outside on the patio with us. This was lunchtime and I had the best wedge salad and shrimp. My friend loved her pasta dish and portions were perfect. We will definitely return for lunch. I have no idea about the dinner menu or ambience, however I think it's sports bar and karaoke.

Neighborhood Spot! Bar and menu with large selection of food to suit a wide variety of tastes. This place came up in a search for “steak bites,” after a day of shopping at Valley Fair in SJ. We pulled up and it was a lively neighborhood scene at the bar. This place looks like a ton of fun. We were seated quickly and several servers took great care of us. The steak bites were tasty, if a bit tough, and the sauce they come with was also tasty. I ordered chicken cups, which were a little different than I was expecting (thinking PF Chang’s - style). It was cubes of breast over a lot of carrot, all placed on top of a few large lettuce or romaine leaves. Not the worst, but didn’t really satisfy expectations. It was a quick bite and looked like a fun place, and maybe other times are much better. With all the choices out there, and the fact we don’t live nearby, we would probably pass. If we did live nearby, I’m sure we would be here fairly often, enjoying the convenience of the bar and taking opportunities to try other items on the menu.

Capers is one of my all time favorite restaurants! Their food is always delicious and perfectly prepared. They have a great menu with many wonderful dishes including vegetarian and gluten free options. You will not be disappointed!! The vibe at Capers is always upbeat and lively. They have a full bar offering happy hour specials. I’ve hosted many awesome parties at their San Jose location and can’t wait to host another great event!

I was told that we could watch football...I spent 70 dollars for 2 draft beers, dinner and disrespectful owners. They were big mad I had nfl on my phone and they couldn't put it on their TV'S. Very very old clientele. No atmosphere. Locals only, don't bother trying to come here for happy hour or watch football. The owners are very vocal in telling the workers and customers what you cannot have. I will never come here again. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. For 70 dollars you can literally have better food, entertainment and customer service anywhere. This place sucks and I hope they do bad business for treating me like trash.

I was there on karaoke night. every Saturday evening at 8pm hosted by Noreen! she has a huge selection of music and a great system. I'm sure she will have the song you love to sing. the food was great. And the servers are polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. The bartenders are also knowledgeable and quick to please.

Great restaurant! Although it was on the pricier end, we ordered the calamari and steak bites as appetizers, and shared the lamb shank. The calamari was light and crispy, the steak bites were perfectly tender, and the braised lamb shank fell off the bone and was absolutely delicious. Our server, Hailey (spelling?) was so sweet and very attentive, despite having to take care of several parties by herself. We did encounter a small issue with being charged the wrong price for a dish, but it was rectified immediately with no fuss. Overall, would definitely recommend. Get the lamb shank, you won’t be disappointed!

The wife and I went here for dinner. We've never been here before and figured we would try it out since it's a local place. We got seated in the bar, a couple of minutes later someone took our drink order and came back. While waiting for our server to come to our table, two more tables next to us got seated. The server went to both of those tables first and I'm assuming they were regulars, because she was chatting it up with both tables. After 10-12 minutes, we finally get to order our appetizer and tell her we need a couple more minutes. 5-8 minutes later our appetizer gets there. We eat it and continue to wait as our server continues to wait on the two tables of regulars hand and foot. After the couple of minutes that we asked from the server, we kept trying to make eye contact so she could take our order, she saw us, but that did nothing. My wife and I grew frustrated because we were hungry. My wife was more frustrated since she's been in the hospitality industry for 25 years. Finally after 30 mins, keep in mind, all we got was water and we split a ceasar salad, our server never came back to get our order, we asked the bartender for our bill and left. The place wasn't even that busy for this type of service to happen. We ended up going to Jack's off Saratoga, next to Westgate, had way better service. I will never come back to this place.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks is an upscale dining destination that perfectly blends a clubby atmosphere with a delightful menu focused on seafood and steaks. Located downtown, this left coast chain offers patrons the chance to enjoy fresh seafood, especially when seated on their inviting patio during pleasant weather. Reservations are recommended for busy nights, as booth seating can be in high demand.
Had a reservation for Friday night and glad we did because we wanted a booth seating. Missed happy hour which ends at 6:30 at the bar only. Our waiter was very helpful and patient as we took our time ordering. The mark west wine was our drink of choice for the evening. They have a gluten sensitive menu! I ordered the steak Bordelaise and crab stuffed salmon. Both were so delicious I forgot to get a photo. As the night went on, this place got very busy. There were a lot of staff running around in the back on my way to the restrooms. The chocolate mousse bag was amazing! Very decadent and big enough to share. I'd recommend getting this. It's the only photo I took, sadly. I normally wouldn't come to a steakhouse, but because of a gift card I was able to see and enjoy this place. It reminds me of old Town San Jose.

Great location, nice ambience, lots of choices of cocktails and drinks, lots of family with kids diners. Our Manhattan and spiced pear martini are very very good! The dishes are all tasty, except we would like the side veggies are more than just zucchini. Wine pour is a bit not generous. Overall a bit pricy but not bad at all experience.
Evelyn C — Google review
Standard franchise with less than attentive service. Came for a business lunch on a Tuesday with almost no other guests, but it still took time to get us seated and served drinks. My $33.5 scallops were supposed to come with rice, but had potatoes - and nobody seemed to care to tell me it wasn’t what they promised. But I guess you still go here because it’s safe and you know what you get. Kinda.
Anders L — Google review
Decent food. Honestly not something I couldnt make at home. The high price point seems mostly to create a certain environment, not necessarily reflecting the quality level of the food. With that said the staff were friendly and seemed to know alot about the food. Not a bad experience, just not worth the price.
Nate K — Google review
Delicious food and fantastic service. Lived the crab and shrip stuffed salmon, the crab stuffed shrimp was really good too. Not to kention the devine silk pie and cheesecake.
Jennifer D — Google review
The bar area is an open seating area and although I heard complaints from another customer about the slow service, my wife and I satisfied with the waiting staff. We ordered the Lump Crab Cake appetizer and thought it tasted great. I especially liked the tangy, lemon juice flavor. We can only afford to dine here on special occasions, but we'll keep it on mind for the future.
Jim S — Google review
Seems the food used to be better. The ambience is still great, and service friendly. But the food is no longer expertly prepared. Fried foods are a bit soft, fish is a bit dry. Disappointing for such a high end venue with high prices.

Clandestine Brewing, located just outside of downtown San Jose, was founded by a couple with a shared passion for beer. The brewery offers a wide array of non-IPA styles and allows guests to visit their taproom or purchase their beers online. The taproom features a beautiful mural on its exterior wall and offers a relaxed atmosphere with plasma TVs for sports broadcasts.
Cool outside patio area that has some covered and uncovered areas. Nice quaint inside area as well with some board games if you are into that. Not a lot of parking. Beer is also very good. Dog friendly too!

Dropped in for a drink with friends. It was the only bar in the area with a little longer opening hours. Anyway, it’s a nice bar with patio. Beers are fine, nothing particularly special. I like best bitters and pale ales and the closest they had was not that impressive to me. The darker ales were better. Place is very clean and so are the restrooms. Would recommend a stop in if in the area for sure!

A fun & friendly bar. I was there yesterday for their anniversary and I enjoyed the beers they brought out to celebrate. I usually go there for events so it's nice to see a food truck there since they don't serve food in the bar. One of these days I should go when there isn't an event just to see if there is a food truck there then too.

Nomikai is an elegant and stylish lounge in San Jose, CA, offering Asian fusion small plates and creative cocktails. The venue provides a warm and relaxed atmosphere for socializing with family and friends while enjoying premium Japanese sake, craft spirits, beer, and wine. It's a great spot to visit before heading back to the hotel for a nightcap. Nomikai is known for its unique pizzas, including the popular Banh Mi pizza.
First time here while visiting San Jose on 11/23/2024. Came here because the place across the street was too busy and no regrets! Amazing drinks! The bar tender delivered great service. The Green Day seasonal cocktail was my favorite!
Gaby M — Google review
A nice little spot in downtown San Jose. We had a few starters, pizzas and drinks. The best and most impressive was the pizzas. We ordered the five-spice duck pizza and the pork banh mi one, which were very creative and of great fusion taste. Beers and cocktails were also good while the cocktails were a little bit overpriced in general. Overall a good experience!
Vera — Google review
I really wanted to come here for the Banh Mi pizza and it was good timing as there was a game on so the BF got to watch the game. Me – Food, Him – Game = win-win. We got the pizza and it was pretty good. The flavors were good and I liked how it was more like a flatbread. We also go the kimcheese fries which were good as well. With those two items, we were pretty satisfied. Since we stayed long to watch the game, we ordered a couple of drinks to justify taking up our seats for so long. We got the mugi mule and the lychee martini, which were pretty good, but definitely pricey for what it was. I don’t know if it was just that day, but there was only one girl serving the whole place, until a second one came to help her out at least an hour later. Because of that, the service was kind of slow, but she was a really good waitress. Overall, they have good Asian Fusion bar food and drinks and a chill place to watch a game. Make a reservation though as they don’t have a lot of seating.

Warning: I like spicy food. I'm an Indian bois, deal with it. Pollo Adobo Pizza (wish I had the photo) Gayoza (chicken potstickers) Other food we had: Trio Mushroom Pizza Mac and Cheese Mazcal drink was ♥️

Very attentive hostess, nice interior, music at a reasonable volume, not too crowded or empty. Hostess Lena kept coming back just in time to refill our glasses from the bottle of soju being shared at my table. (The mere fact that Nomikai carries soju is a point in its favor.) These are the good things! The not so good: they were out of the soju we wanted (there were only two varieties available). They were out of the duck far popcorn. And the "seven spice nori fries" were dry, kinda stale, and generally boring. (McDonald's fries are way better and far cheaper!) So... skip the fries... and don't count on anything you order actually being available! That said, the spam musubi was delicious, and Lena is definitely a credit to the establishment. I would probably go again... but it's not my new go-to spot ;)
