Bodies of Water
Sukhna Lake is a picturesque reservoir in Chandigarh, offering activities like pedal boating and jogging along its shores. It's a popular spot for photographers, with the shimmering lake framed by the majestic Shivalik hills providing stunning scenic views from sunrise to moonlit nights. The area also boasts attractions like the Cactus Garden, Rose Garden, and opportunities for trekking in the lower Shivalik Hills.
Sukhna Lake is a serene and beautifully maintained spot in the heart of Chandigarh. Ideal for morning walks, boating, or just relaxing by the water. The views are stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. Clean surroundings, peaceful vibe, and great for families and nature lovers!
DEEPAK Y — Google review
Has to be the best place in chandigarh, one of the best walking / jogging track you'd see.. lake on one side and green belt on the other.. sit for sometime and enjoy the wonderful hills in the backdrop and feel the cool breeze.. plenty of parking and a wonderful cafe..
Sumit G — Google review
I visited Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh early morning recently, and it was a refreshing experience! This man-made lake, built in 1958 by Le Corbusier’s team, is a serene spot with calm waters reflecting the Shivalik hills. The early morning vibe was magical—cool air, chirping birds, and a stunning sunrise painting the sky. The walking path was perfect for a peaceful stroll, and I loved watching locals jogging and practicing yoga. The nearby café served tasty snacks, adding to the charm. However, some areas had litter, which slightly detracted from the beauty. Also, more benches would’ve been nice for resting. Despite these, Sukhna Lake’s tranquility and scenic views make it a lovely spot to start the day in Chandigarh.
Sayak D — Google review
A Serene Escape and the Jewel of Chandigarh! During my visit to Chandigarh for the ISRT meeting this September, a trip to Sukhna Lake was the perfect way to unwind. The moment I arrived, I was struck by the incredible sense of peace and tranquility. The lake itself is beautiful, with placid waters shimmering against the stunning backdrop of the distant Shivalik Hills. A leisurely stroll along the clean, wide promenade was so refreshing and offered a wonderful escape from the city's hustle. The atmosphere was calm and rejuvenating, and I could see why it's such a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike. Sukhna Lake is truly the jewel of Chandigarh. It was a highlight of my trip and is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a moment of peace and natural beauty
Sohaib A — Google review
I have been visiting this place and it remains an incredible destination to relax and reconnect with nature. Sukhna Lake, a serene reservoir at the foothills of the Shivalik Hills in the Himalayas, is an integral part of Chandigarh’s planned cityscape. Even today, it stands as one of India’s most famous artificial lakes and planned city, offering a tranquil experience with still waters. Nestled at the forefront of Sector 1, the lake is surrounded by lush forests and sits adjacent to the governor’s residences of both states. The morning sunshine here is truly mesmerizing, creating a magical aura for early risers. Joggers, walkers, and yoga enthusiasts find their perfect spot along the lake’s edge to embrace the refreshing start of the day.

The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a 24-acre whimsical wonderland created by Nek Chand, a humble roads inspector. It is made from the debris of nearly 50 villages and an assortment of found objects like shattered plates, ceramic tiles, and colorful glass bangles. Nek Chand worked secretly for two decades to create this artistic masterpiece. The garden features mosaic courtyards, sculptures, and paths made from old crockery.

A truly beautiful and peaceful place to spend your mornings and evenings! The Japani Garden is perfectly designed in authentic Japanese style — with charming architecture, neat pathways, and a calm ambiance that soothes your mind. It’s an excellent spot for morning exercises, yoga, or an evening walk amidst nature. The garden is clean, well-maintained, and full of greenery — making it a delight for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike. Definitely one of the must-visit places in Chandigarh! A hidden gem where you can enjoy serenity, fresh air, and the unique touch of Japanese aesthetics right in the heart of the city. Only you can realise the beauty of you spend some time there
Rohit C — Google review
We enjoyed a pleasant walk through the park. While it was clean, it appeared somewhat under-maintained, with many features showing signs of wear. It’s a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets of Chandigarh, though it falls short of capturing the authenticity and meticulous design of a traditional Japanese garden.
Nikola P — Google review
With the cordial coordination with Japan Government, this park was developed in 2011, shows some glimpses of Japanese Art and Culture. Now in 2025, due to lack of maintenance this beautiful park is now so attractive. But still it is a good place to spend time with family and friends.
Hitendra N — Google review
It was opened in 2017. Japanese garden one of the best park in chandigarh. Completely peaceful and completely greeny. You can spend quality time here with family, friends. It is really big and there is lots of activities you can do like pre-wedding shoot and others and also there is open gym and kids park. Free enter no need any ticket there is 3 gates. Due to lack of maintenance the beauty of this park make sad. No maintenance. Peoples write there name on walls make completely sad. Peoples of chandigarh can't understand how this park is really beautiful. Completely ignored my state govt. It make sad to see peoples write name and others things, liter every where. When the japanese peoples see this park how it is not maintained definitely they could get sad. How this park completely ruin by local peoples.
Vinit S — Google review
One of the best garden in Chandigarh. Awesome architect and scenic greenery. You can spend even 2-3 hours easily in this garden. There is no entry charges. Washrooms are also available inside the garden which are very well maintained. There are some small stalls outside the garden to have some snacks. There are two seperate gardens inside this place which are linked with a subway. Another part of this garden is based on Chinese dragon theme. People come here for picnic. A must visit place for morning or evening hangout. You may also bring badminton or soft ball for playing.
Deepak J — Google review
I recently visited the Japanese Garden in Chandigarh, and honestly, it was quite disappointing. The place has potential, but the lack of maintenance is evident. It seems like no one is taking care of the garden or the structures inside—it badly needs a revamp. What was once a beautifully designed space has now become underrated due to neglect. The greenery should be well-maintained, and the entire area needs proper upkeep to restore its charm. It’s sad to see such a place losing its appeal. I really didn’t enjoy my visit, to be honest. If the authorities focus on maintaining it, this garden could once again become a great spot to visit. But in its current state, it’s not worth it.
Pixels_by_bunny — Google review
It's good for evening outing but the structures are in a bad shape. Hope it will be maintained in future. Parking space is superb.

Nestled in Bhagwanpura, Chandigarh, the Garden of Silence is a serene and expansive outdoor space featuring a grand Buddha statue, concentric stairways, and enchanting evening illuminations. This tranquil oasis offers visitors an opportunity to escape the city's hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in meditation amidst lush greenery. The well-maintained pathways, seating areas, and peaceful water bodies make it an ideal setting for relaxation and contemplation.
It is a very beautiful place, when I went there I thought it would be silent or quiet as its name is ‘Garden of Silence’ 😅 but on the contrary there were a lot of people there, some people were just sitting and some were walking here and there, kids were playing cricket, football, badminton and also kabaddi. The ground is quite big, you can sit anywhere and enjoy the view. It is very close to Sukhna lake, you can walk around the lake and when I went there on Sunday there were a lot of people there.
Shailesh C — Google review
Let me tell you, there is no silence in this garden. This garden is near sukhna lake. The children were playing cricket in the morning there. Good view of the garden though. There is a large statue of lord Buddha. Can visit it when visiting Sukhna lake. Nice structured garden.
PARNEET K — Google review
The Garden of Silence is a peaceful and beautifully designed spot, featuring a grand Buddha statue at its center. Though it's a small garden, it offers a refreshing environment, especially in the morning when children come to play and enjoy. The variety of flowers in the garden adds to its beauty, making it a pleasant place to relax and unwind. However, I feel this space is not meant for cricket or any other sports. It should be restricted to walking, exploring, sitting, and simply soaking in the tranquil vibes. Ironically, despite its name, it’s not always silent, but it still provides a calm atmosphere to escape the city’s noise. A great place to visit if you're looking for some relaxation and peaceful surroundings!
Pixels_by_bunny — Google review
The place was awesome.Perfect place to visit if you are looking for serenity in chandigarh.Loacted at the backside of well known Sukhna Lake. Its actually less populated than the front entry to the lake as very few know about it.You can get a good view of lakeside sunset from this point.Cool breeze will add enough to it.Get your partner if you want to add more charm to your visit!!

Abhishek J — Google review
The Garden of Silence in Chandigarh is a place where you can experience tranquility and peace. When you visit, you are greeted by a beautiful natural setting that is far away from the hustle and bustle. As you wander through this lovely garden, you'll be surrounded by lush greenery and the fragrant aroma of flowers. You can sit, read, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature. This place not only provides a beautiful natural environment but also a unique sense of calm. The Garden of Silence is a wonderful place where you can take a break from the chaos of life and connect with nature in a serene setting. It's a great choice if you're looking for a peaceful, natural retreat.
Antriiksh J — Google review
The Garden of Silence in Chandigarh is one of those rare places where the name truly reflects the experience. Tucked quietly near the edge of Sukhna Lake, this garden is not about flashy fountains, crowded picnic spots, or buzzing markets. Instead, it is a peaceful retreat designed to offer visitors a moment of calm in their busy lives. At the heart of the garden stands a majestic statue of Lord Buddha, radiating a sense of serenity. Sitting in front of it, surrounded by greenery and open skies, you can almost feel time slowing down. What makes this place special is its atmosphere. Unlike other popular attractions in Chandigarh, the Garden of Silence is rarely overcrowded, making it an ideal spot for meditation, yoga, or just quiet reflection. The walking paths are clean and well-maintained, and the gentle rustle of leaves combined with the cool breeze from the nearby lake creates a naturally soothing environment. I recommend visiting early in the morning or just before sunset, when the light is soft, and the surroundings feel even more magical. Whether you are a tourist exploring Chandigarh or a local resident looking for a break, this garden offers something very unique—a chance to simply sit, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. The Garden of Silence isn’t just a park; it’s a reminder of the peace we often forget to seek.
Vikram S — Google review
The lake’s calm waters create a soothing atmosphere for visitors. Surrounded by well-maintained walking paths perfect for morning strolls or jogging. Rowing boats are available, adding a fun, relaxing activity on the water. The view of the Aravalli hills in the distance enhances the natural beauty. Garden of Silence, near the lake, is a quiet, meditative space. The garden features simple Buddha statues and peaceful seating areas. It offers a calm escape for reflection amid the city bustle. The greenery and thoughtful landscaping promote tranquility and mindfulness. Early morning or sunset visits reveal beautiful light over the lake and garden. Joggers, walkers, and families enjoy the fresh air and open space. Wildlife such as birds can often be seen near the lake, adding charm. Benches dotted along paths are perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. The clean, well-kept environment makes it welcoming for all ages. The area encourages a peaceful connection with nature and oneself. Nearby food stalls and vendors offer snacks and refreshments. The combination of lake and garden makes for a refreshing city outing. It’s easy to spend hours soaking in the calm ambiance and scenic views. The visit left me feeling relaxed, centered, and grateful for the serene spot. A perfect place for quiet walks, meditation, and simply enjoying nature’s beauty in Chandigarh.

While the garden is beautiful and well maintained; it feels very mechanical, just made for the sake of the city because the city is like the cities abroad. Garden is big and if you want to spend some peaceful time, then only you should visit.

• Asia’s largest rose garden, sprawled over ~30 acres, with around 50,000 rose bushes encompassing 1,600 varieties — this immense diversity makes it a botanical marvel. • Often called a “Floral Wonderland” or “blooming exhibit,” it’s a sensory delight for flower lovers. Visually Stunning & Well-Maintained • The garden is meticulously landscaped with carved lawns, flower beds, fountains, and pathways—ideal for photography, reflection, or just soaking up the scenery. • Multiple reviews highlight the serene ambiance and cleanliness: “The Rose Garden is a breathtakingly beautiful place spread across a vast area… exceptionally well‑maintained, with lush greenery and a clean, serene atmosphere.” “Calm, serene, clean and green… soothing… Well laid out green areas and the pathways… a dedicated kids zone… fountains… amazing variety of roses of course…”

This is undoubtedly the best gardens in Chandigarh city. Located very close to the sector 17 ISBT and sector 16 cricket ground, this garden is the perfect place for morning or evening walks. If you are into bodyweight exercise workout i.e. Calisthenics, this is the place for you.. You can see people starting to come here as early as 4:30-5 AM. There are many varieties of roses grown according to the season. Overall landscape is very well maintained. There is a fountain area as well here which needs to be managed a little better as it's not functioning most of the time now. It's got decent parking, well connectivity and big area. There are functioning public toilets and drinking water as well. Whether you are fond of roses or not, whether it's blooming season or not, this place definitely deserves a visit..

It is a very nice and big garden where you can easily spend 2 to 3 hours. Childrens play area are also there. There are lots of varities of roses from all over the world. I recently visited the Open Hand Monument in Chandigarh and was in awe of its unique design and symbolism. Designed by the famous architect Le Corbusier, the monument represents the idea of "the hand to give and the hand to take." The hand-shaped structure stands tall and proud, surrounded by a beautiful garden. The monument is not just a piece of art, but also a symbol of unity and peace. The concept behind the design is to create a sense of togetherness among people from different backgrounds and cultures. The monument also serves as a reminder to be generous and compassionate towards one another. The monument is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike, with plenty of benches to sit and take in the surrounding beauty. It's a must-visit destination for anyone interested in art and architecture, as well as those looking for a peaceful and reflective experience. Overall, the Open Hand Monument in Chandigarh is a true masterpiece and a testament to Le Corbusier's visionary design.

Open hand Monument is the symbol of Chandigarh (peace) and I just loved this monument. It is situated at Sector 1 Chandigarh. Because high court and vidhan sabha is there, security is very tight here. You have to show your ID card to the security personnel to viait this monument. This monument has historic meaning and value. One of the few amazing facts of this monument is that it rotates 360° and the direction of the thumb shows the direction the wind.

The Open Hand Monument is a symbolic structure designed by the architect Le Corbusier and located in the Capitol Complex of the Indian city and union territory of Chandigarh. It is the emblem and symbol of the Government of Chandigarh and symbolizes "the hand to give and the hand to take; peace and prosperity, and the unity of mankind". The largest example of Le Corbusier's many Open Hand sculptures, it stands 26 metres (85 ft) high. The metal structure with vanes is 14 metres (46 ft) high, weighs 50 short tons (100,000 lb), and was designed to rotate in the wind. The Open Hand (La Main Ouverte) in Chandigarh is a frequent theme in Le Corbusier's architecture, a symbol for him of "peace and reconciliation. It is open to give and open to receive". Le Corbusier also stated that it was a recurring idea that conveyed the "Second Machine Age".The Open Hand is located in Sector 1 in the Capitol Complex of Chandigarh, on the backdrop of the Himalayan Shivalik hill range. Le Corbusier thought of the Open Hand Monument first in 1948,"spontaneously, or more exactly, as a result of reflections and spiritual struggles arising from feelings of anguish and disharmony which separate mankind and so often create enemies".His passion for the hand had an important role in his career beginning from the age of seventeen-and-a-half when he picked up a brick, a gesture which led to millions of bricks being laid in later years.[8] Jane Drew felt that the symbol of Le Corbusier's philosophy should be made evident to the people of Chandigarh. Le Corbusier then perceived it as a sculptural monument to be erected in Chandigarh, the city he is credited with planning, designing, and implementing. One of his associates, Jerzy Soltan, a member of his atelier, had deliberated with him as to the type of hand to be made – whether an open hand or a fist holding a fighting device. The Open Hand became a public project rather than a private symbol when Le Corbusier planned it for the city of Chandigarh, where his associate and cousin Pierre Jeanneret was then working as chief architect and town planning advisor to the Government of Punjab, and was supervising the construction of Chandigarh. In case his preference for Chandigarh to erect the sculpture was not accepted, he had thought of an alternate location: the top of the Bhakra Dam, the 220 metres (720 ft) high dam in Nangal in Punjab.[8] He had planned to erect the Open Hand against the scenic background of the Himalayas. He called the location he had selected the "Pit of Contemplation" (Fosse de la Consideration). The design was a huge elevated object (a wind vane), which was an "inspirational symbol of humanity unarmed, fearless, and spiritually receptive". Le Corbusier had discussed this project with the then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru when he had visited India in 1951. He had also written to Nehru, saying that since 1948 he had been obsessed with this symbol of the Open Hand which he wished to erect at the end of the capital (Chandigarh) in the foreground of the Himalayas. Nehru had concurred with the concept. In his letter to Nehru, Le Corbusier expressed a view that it could also become a symbol of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM), an idea that Nehru mooted although ultimately it was not adopted for NAM. Later, for Le Corbusier, the project had remained linked with Nehru, and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Nehru's birth in 1964, he was invited to submit something for a "celebratory volume". Le Corbusier forthwith sketched his concept of the Open Hand, for it was his recurring dream which had obsessed him for six years (prior to 1954). In the sketch, he conceived the Open Hand as a 26 metres (85 ft) high sculpture which would rotate with the wind and would shine with colours such as yellow, red, green, and white in the foreground of the mountain range.Above the sketch he inscribed, "La Fin d'un monde" (The End of a World).

Nature & Parks
Cactus Garden, established in 2004, is a 7-acre botanic garden featuring rare and endangered cacti, greenhouses, and fish ponds. Located in Panchkula near Chandigarh, this free attraction offers a diverse collection of succulent plant species from around the world. Visitors can explore thousands of cactus species, including rare and endangered ones showcased in exhibits. The garden also houses a museum for an enjoyable learning experience.
Cactus Garden, Panchkula – A Desert Marvel Hidden in the City Think cacti only thrive in the wild, arid deserts of the American West? Think again. Nestled in Panchkula, just a short drive from Chandigarh, lies one of India’s most fascinating and underrated botanical wonders — the National Cactus and Succulent Garden. Spread across a sprawling area, this garden houses over 3,000 species of cacti and succulents, some of which are so massive they require scaffolding for support. Yes, tall, towering cacti — not something you'd expect in this part of the country. It’s surreal to see such desert giants thriving in North India, far removed from the rocky canyons of Western movies. Many of the plants here are decades old, dating back to the garden’s inception in the late 1980s. As you walk through the labyrinth of spiny wonders, you'll find rare, endangered, and exotic species from all over the world. The variety is overwhelming — from tiny globe-shaped succulents to long, spindly giants reaching for the sky. Prepare for a walk that’s as educational as it is unexpectedly magical. This is not just a garden — it’s a living museum of some of nature’s most resilient and bizarre creations. A hidden gem you must visit to believe.

This garden brings together a huge variety of cactus which will leave you amazed. Also viewing flowers on cactus plants is something which changed one’s perceptions about the plant variety. The only issue here is that it is very far from other attractions and would recommend to go using a booked cab or auto for the to and fro transportation to avoid spending a lot of time waiting for a bus.

Stepping into the National Cactus Garden in Chandigarh feels akin to traversing an enchanted desert of Arizona, albeit nestled distinctly in the Indian clime. For a mere ten rupees, one gains passage into a world where opulence and austerity meet in the unlikely yet mesmerizing arrangement of cacti. As if painted by the meticulous hands of a devoted artist, each mound and hill cradles its thorny charges, presenting an unbelievable variety of species, from the robust saguaros to the delicate barbed whiskers of the cholla. The pathways, swept clean, guide wanderers safely through this spiny paradise, inviting them to marvel without worry. The service mirrors the garden's pristine condition; attendants greet with smiles, eager to assist or impart knowledge of their green wards. Above all, the gardeners' dedication to detail captivates; their craft not only sustains life but sculpts it, creating vistas that whisper tales of fairy tales woven into the fabric of the earth itself. In this modest Eden, where each step unveils another chapter of natural allure, the fee feels less like a cost and more like an invitation to witness a rarefied spectacle. The National Cactus Garden is not just a place to visit, but a realm to be experienced, where the soul can wander and wonder in equal measure.

The ticket is only 10 rupees but the park is well maintained. Also, town park is just next door. The glass rooms can be maintained in a better way. This garden has so much potential to become more attractive for the visitors.

Located in Sector 33 of Chandigarh, the Terraced Garden is a popular tourist spot known for its vibrant and diverse floral displays. Since its establishment in 1979, this 10-acre garden has been attracting visitors with its stunning flowers and well-maintained grounds. The garden features walking paths, a musical fountain, and hosts seasonal flower festivals that add to its allure. Families often visit for leisurely strolls and picnics amidst the beautiful surroundings.
In my view, it is one of the best gardens in chandigarh. Every year in the month of December a big flower festival known as Chrysanthemum is organised by the UT administration which is very enjoyable. People come here to celebrate and enjoy music. There is a huge rush and also eating stalls are there. On normal days I often visit this garden for morning walks. I really enjoyed this very much. There is now a huge rush of morning walks lovers. Outside Park a vegetable juice vendor named Mr. Suresh is there. People relish it after a walk.

Terraced gardens are beautifully designed landscapes that utilize a series of leveled platforms or "terraces," each separated by retaining walls, to manage hilly or sloped terrain. This design not only creates a visually stunning effect but also serves practical purposes, such as preventing soil erosion and managing water drainage. Each terrace can be cultivated with different plants, flowers, or even small trees, creating a layered effect that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. In a terraced garden, the lower levels often feature ground-cover plants or flower beds, while the higher terraces might showcase shrubs, ornamental grasses, or even small waterfalls or fountains. This layering allows for a diverse range of plantings that can thrive in different conditions of sunlight and shade, depending on the orientation and height of each terrace. The pathways or steps connecting these levels can be made of stone, wood, or other materials, adding to the garden's charm and accessibility. The beauty of a terraced garden lies in its versatility and the opportunity it provides for creative landscaping. Whether it's a private residential garden or a larger public park, terraces can be designed to incorporate seating areas, viewing spots, or decorative elements like sculptures and pergolas. These gardens are often used to showcase a variety of plants and flowers, making them a popular choice for botanical displays or themed gardens.

I'd give this park full ratings because of the cleanliness, maintenance and different varieties of flowers always blooming here. No matter which season you visit this park, you'll always be surrounded by beautiful flowers. One of the most amazing things that I've seen here is that the squirrels and birds are very friendly. They play with you. The best part is stray dogs aren't allowed inside due to which it is very very clean. You can even walk barefoot and sit on the grass. Even for photoshoot or photography, it's a nice park. Kudos to the team of gardeners who maintain this park. God bless

As I stepped into the Terraced Garden in Chandigarh, I was immediately struck by the sheer beauty of the place. The garden was well-maintained and the display of flowers was simply stunning. I couldn't help but notice that there were so many flowers stacked together, which made the garden even more visually appealing. As I walked through the garden, I could see that the flowers had been carefully selected and arranged in a way that was both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound. The gardeners had clearly put a lot of thought and effort into creating this beautiful display. In addition to the flowers, the garden also had several fountains and water features that added to its charm. The sound of the water added to the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the garden. Overall, the Terraced Garden in Chandigarh is a must-visit attraction for anyone who loves nature and wants to enjoy a relaxing environment. Visited the Butterfly Garden in Chandigarh recently just to kill some time. It’s an okayish place overall. There are a few wild mulberry and mango trees scattered around, and I even spotted a lone pear tree. I went in spring, which seemed like the off-season — I believe it would look a lot better in winters when it's greener and more lively. That said, if you're in the city looking for a peaceful spot to unwind, it’s not a bad choice. But if you're after a more vibrant experience, I'd still recommend heading to Sukhna Lake instead.

The International Dolls Museum in Chandigarh is a truly wonderful cultural experience and a must-visit, especially for families and those interested in global and Indian heritage. What immediately stands out is the impeccable cleanliness and systematic management of the entire facility. The careful and deliberate placement of the dolls is excellent, allowing visitors to easily appreciate the variety—from beautifully detailed regional and international dolls to the thoughtful, themed conceptual models celebrating Indian cultural heritage. These exhibits are visually rich and clearly convey a sense of rich motivation and storytelling. The staff also deserves high praise. Every interaction was met with well-behaved and professional courtesy, which greatly enhances the visit. It's clear that management runs a tight and efficient operation, ensuring a pleasant, organized experience from start to finish. Why 4 Stars? While the experience is nearly flawless, adding more contemporary interactive digital displays or perhaps more in-depth written context/signage alongside the major cultural heritage models could push this fantastic museum to a perfect 5-star rating. Regardless, it is a highly recommended, clean, and well-curated attraction!

It's an amazing experience as always. New things are added. The fountains from the floor are the centre of attractions. Old bird type architecture spilling water is renovated. Musical fountains are there. So you must visit here. Have ice cream, do some window shopping, eat something. It's a pure chandigarh experience.

Considered to be the “Pedestrian’s Paradise”, Sector 17 market is the ultimate destination for the fun lovers, party animals and shopaholics. You will be amazed to see how the sector is dotted with beautiful fountains, charming sculptures and tree groves. Beautiful neon lights along with the fountains adorn the whole sector, which makes the sector even more mesmerizing and turns the place in a big open-air club. During winters, the warm sun is a treat for the tourists who flock to the plaza area in hundreds. The zone is dotted with a number of attractive places which is a delight for the tourists. One of the added advantages for the tourists here is that they can roam around the plaza without any traffic hassles. As a result, a number of entertainment spots have grown up adorning the plaza. Apart from housing the different government offices and banks, you will see numerous shops and stores with a huge selection of dresses, shoes, and electronic goods and sports gears catering to the demand of the ardent shoppers. It is also a place which hosts a number of tradeshows, concerts and other genres of events. WHAT TO SEE IN SECTOR 17 Sector 17 is famous for numerous hotels and markets which are flocked by the tourists during the month of September to March. Make a point to visit the National Gallery of Portraits located at Sector 17B. It displays photographs from India’s freedom struggles and manuscripts from this area, which are rich in historical values. SECTOR 17 PLAZA Sector 17, also known as the shopper’s paradise is a melting pot for all the shopaholics alike. If you are looking for western wears, branded clothes and shoes, electronic goods, bestselling books, music stores, awards manufacturing and ethnic jewellery in Chandigarh, then the City Centre area in Sector 17 is a must for you to visit. There is a sole government store which sells ethnic Indian clothes called “Phulkari”. Here one can also buy the embroidered Punjabi-styled dupattas, the traditional curly-toed shoes and imported woollen garments from Ludhiana. Shops offering traditional handicrafts and modern fashionable goods are just opposite to each other; one can also buy goods to suit one’s daily needs and satiating one’s hunger for fashionable items

The Government Museum and Art Gallery in Chandigarh is a must-visit museum complex that showcases a diverse range of exhibits, including ancient and modern art, architecture, natural history, Gandharan sculptures, terracotta heads from ancient India, medieval metal sculptures, miniature paintings, manuscripts, textiles from across the Indian subcontinent and more. The museum also houses a collection of artwork by renowned artists.
I have finally discovered a treasure trove in Chandigarh. This Government Museum of art and architecture is like a hidden gem which I guess many are unaware of. A friend mentioned about this institution in Sector 10 in the passing and I decided to check this out on a weekday. The building, the presentation, the collection -- it blew away my mind. Basically there are three important buildings -- one is dedicated to Architecture, the other to Natural History and the last one is dedicated to art, paintings and sculptures. Everything is very well placed in spacious halls, very well marked and labelled. At most of the installations and paintings the descriptions are both in English and in Braille. It's so heartening to see the thoughtfulness in even the layout as ramps help in the movements of wheel chair bound art connoisseurs The charges are minimal and you can even ask for a guide. A few hours spent here is just like touching the tip of the iceberg. I guess many more trips to the various sections of the museum should be planned in order to know and appreciate our art, culture and heritage. It was so nice to see a batch of young school children being taken around -- an early awareness will help them mould well. A word for the staff -- very polite and helpful. They are certainly an asset to the museum. Looking forward to many more trips of discovery to this wonderful place

Nothing unique; just like many other museums all over India about archaeological findings. Well maintained.
RUTVIK D — Google review
Located in Chandigarh’s Sector 10, the Government Museum and Art Gallery is a fascinating stop for anyone interested in history, culture, or art. The museum is fairly well maintained and offers a journey through different schools of art and eras — from Indian contemporary art and Gandhara sculptures to wooden carvings, miniature paintings, and coins from the Mughal and Sikh empires. One of the highlights is the Gandhara section, where intricate stone sculptures depict events from Buddha’s life alongside serene still statues. Entry is priced at just INR 30 per person, with an additional photography ticket (also INR 30) if you’d like to click pictures. Videography, tripods, flash, and extra lights are not permitted. The museum building itself has a raw, unpolished feel inside, which adds to its old-world charm. Plan your visit with enough time in hand, as the collection is vast. Some sections may be closed for renovation or remain empty, but the richness of the exhibits makes it well worth the stop. Facilities include washrooms and a drinking water filter at the back of the building. The museum is open from 10 am to 4:40 pm and is closed on Mondays and gazetted holidays. If you enjoy exploring art and heritage, this is definitely a place to add to your Chandigarh itinerary.
Amaritpal K — Google review
The Government Museum is a treasure trove for history and art lovers, housing one of the most magnificent collections of Gandharan sculptures and relics. The entry fee is ₹30, with an additional ₹30 for photography. Out of the 8 galleries, 6 were open during my visit, and each had something remarkable to offer. Highlights include 18th-century miniature paintings, canons from Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s army, old handwritten Qurans, Gurbani scriptures, and a vast collection of Buddha idols. The Gandharan art section is simply fascinating, and the miniatures are exquisite, though the lighting is kept dim, most likely to preserve these delicate works. The displays are straightforward and the labels are basic, so don’t expect modern museum-style curation, but the artifacts themselves make up for it. The museum is clean and well-maintained, with free-to-use toilets and a small publication counter offering books. A souvenir shop would have been a great addition for visitors to take back a memory. Overall, this museum is an enriching stop if you’re fond of history, art, or culture but if that’s not your interest, it might not hold your attention for long.

The park is quite vast and full of greenery. Various attractions like bonsai garden and cactus exhibit were quite wonderful to see. Other attractions like Japanese garden, sacred grove, and the fountain were defunct probably because of the rainy season. So not much to do other than walk around for approx 2 hrs. Plus you are not allowed to take photographs with a camera which is absurd and maked the trip for photography enthusiasts deeply dissatisfying.

Nek Chand’s Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a mesmerizing destination filled with mosaic courtyards, sculptures, and pathways made from old crockery. This lush garden is a testament to art and culture, offering visitors an immersive experience in its magical artworks. The garden features impressive artifacts spanning from the Middle Ages to contemporary art. Visitors can also explore themed gardens at Leisure Valley and enjoy a boat ride at Sukhna Lake during sundown.
Visiting Nek Chand’s Rock Garden in Chandigarh was an experience unlike any other — a perfect blend of creativity, art, and sheer dedication. This unique garden, spread over several acres, is entirely made from waste materials, broken ceramics, and industrial debris, transformed into mesmerizing sculptures and installations. Walking through it feels like stepping into a world of imagination and ingenuity. The first thing that strikes you is the sheer scale and intricacy of the artwork. From life-sized animals and human figures to abstract structures and winding pathways, every corner of the garden is a visual treat. Nek Chand’s vision of turning discarded materials into something beautiful is not just inspiring; it’s a celebration of creativity and sustainability. One of the most fascinating aspects of the garden is the maze-like layout, which makes exploring it feel like an adventure. Each turn reveals something new — intricately designed bridges, fountains, and miniature villages crafted entirely from scrap materials. The attention to detail in every sculpture is astonishing, reflecting both patience and a unique artistic perspective. What impressed me the most was the story behind the garden. Nek Chand started this project secretly in 1957, and today it stands as a testament to the power of vision, perseverance, and love for art. It’s not just a garden; it’s a living museum that captures imagination and creativity in the most unexpected way. The atmosphere is serene yet playful. Walking through the garden, I felt a mix of wonder, admiration, and joy. It’s a place that sparks creativity in everyone who visits, reminding us that art can be found — and created — anywhere. In short, Nek Chand’s Rock Garden is a must-visit for anyone visiting Chandigarh. It’s more than just a tourist attraction; it’s an inspiring tribute to human ingenuity, creativity, and the beauty of turning the ordinary into something extraordinary.
Mailika H — Google review
The Rock Garden in Chandigarh is truly a must-visit. The creativity and effort put into making sculptures and structures from recycled and waste materials is incredible. It feels like walking through an open-air art museum, with every corner offering something unique and surprising. The pathways, waterfalls, and hidden sections make it a fun experience for both adults and kids. It’s well maintained, and spending a couple of hours here is absolutely worth it. A perfect spot for photography, exploring, and appreciating art in nature. Definitely a highlight of Chandigarh and highly recommended.

**An absolute masterpiece!** . The Chandigarh Rock Garden is truly one of the most unique and creative places I have ever visited. Created by the visionary Nek Chand, this garden is a stunning example of art, imagination, and sustainability. The entire place is built using waste materials, broken ceramics, glass bangles, tiles, and other discarded items, yet it feels magical and full of life. Every corner is filled with fascinating sculptures, winding pathways, waterfalls, and hidden chambers that make you feel like you are in a different world. The creativity and effort behind every detail are truly inspiring. It’s a perfect spot for photography, leisurely walks, and exploring with family and friends. The combination of art and nature here is simply unmatched. If you are in Chandigarh, the Rock Garden is an absolute must-visit – a place that proves beauty can be created from anything!
Ajay V — Google review
Nice place to go. If you understand art, its a nust visit place. Its peaceful and calm. Try to avoid on a sunny and hot day. Mornings are best time for this place. There is lack of maintenance from administration, i found it a little neglected, there was no restoration of damaged pieces and no repair for broken artifacts. There was a lot of allege on walls on some places.
Rohit K — Google review
The Rock Garden of Chandigarh, created by Nek Chand, is one of the most fascinating places I have ever visited. It is a beautiful blend of creativity, art, and imagination. What makes it so unique is the way waste materials, stones, broken bangles, tiles, and discarded items have been reused to make sculptures and figures. Walking through the garden feels like exploring a completely different world, filled with surprises at every corner, The pathways are designed in such a way that you keep discovering new sculptures, waterfalls, and little open spaces that make the place lively and artistic. It is not just a garden, but almost like a magical city of art built from things people usually throw away. The idea itself is inspiring, and it shows how much dedication and hard work Nek Chand put into creating this wonder, I personally enjoyed the sections where human figures and animals are made from stones and ceramics. The waterfalls and small bridges inside the garden add to the beauty and make it more refreshing, especially if you are visiting during the day. It is also a very popular tourist attraction, so you will see people from all over India and even abroad enjoying the place, The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because some areas of the garden are not very well maintained. A little more attention to cleanliness and upkeep would make the experience even better. Despite that, it is definitely worth visiting at least once in your life, Overall, Nek Chand’s Rock Garden is a symbol of creativity, dedication, and vision. If you are in Chandigarh, this place is a must-visit. It will leave you amazed at how waste can be turned into something so beautiful.
Navatej S — Google review
It was my first visit to the Rock Garden. While entering, we felt as if we were going into a cave because of the narrow pathways, which created a lot of curiosity and excitement in the park. The use of broken bangles, ceramic pieces, and old ceramic electric bulb holders stood out, forming artistic monuments and walls. The waterfalls created a natural and refreshing atmosphere. The environment inside was very clean, and for kids, it is truly an attractive and enjoyable location.
SHIVU Y — Google review
The Rock Garden Chandigarh is a 35 acre eco-friendly garden, built solely by home waste and other Industrial items. Sculptures are created using items such as bangles, ceramic pots, tiles, bottles and Electric waste. Garden is a mixture of Landscape, architecture, sculpture and mythology. NEK CHAND, founder of Rock Garden, started creating this garden secretly during his spare time in 1957. The Layout of Garden is based on the fantasy of a Lost Kingdom. It has 14 different chambers like the forecourt. The Teej festival, when the Rock Garden assumes a festive look, holds a special attraction for tourists. MAJOR ATTRACTIONS PHASE 1:- Toilet fixtures, broken glass pieces and broken tiles have been used to create figures of humans and animals PHASE 2:- Once you enter you will feel entering a small traditional Indian village representing beautifully carved huts, temples pathways etc. PHASE 3:- It’s inspired by Roman architecture; swings are hanging for people to enjoy the beauty. Waterfall, Aquariums where we can get glimpse of fishes wandering around. Open Air Theatre:- An open seating ground with stairs. Laughing Mirror Display; Camel and Train ride. The Eiffel Tower Replica in the garden is a smaller version of the original tower but it's still a popular attraction for tourists. It's free to visit and open 24*7, and there's also a fighter tank for kids to enjoy. However, the place could be made more lively by adding food stalls or shopping stalls, making it more of an entertainment destination.
No tickets and no waiting. There is a normal park and the replica of Eiffel Tower may be made for tourist attraction. I went in the evening and there was literally no one around , not even any street food stalls, maybe my timing was wrong. So I guess you can visit anytime. There is nothing special except this replica.
Shailesh C — Google review
As a tourist in Chandigarh, bored at night, I thought this would light up after dark. We walked approximately 1 km from the Rose Garden, only to find a tiny replica… in complete darkness. You can’t even spot it at first because it’s painted black and there are no street lights around. There’s a park-like area behind it, but even the park bench near the replica was broken. I visited during the off-season, so there was no carnival vibe or crowd as mentioned in other reviews , but a slightly eerie spot . Was it worth it? No! But honestly, the expectation vs. reality made it kind of fun. P.S. the light in the photo is edited for more visibility.

Amritpal S — Google review
It's a replica, not the real thing, so don't expect too much. The pictures you've seen in reviews may be misleading. However, if you keep your expectations low, it can still be a good experience.
Shibin A — Google review
I’ve seen better replicas in keychains sold outside tourist traps. At least those fit in your pocket and don’t waste public space. It’s just a dull, awkward imitation of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. It feels like a random toy someone left behind or a rejected prop from a budget school play, pretending to be something important. I don’t see the point of it being here, and I doubt anyone with brain could take it seriously.
Tribhuvan — Google review
Dead place! Just a lawn with no other entertainment. Visited on a Sunday evening and there were hardly 5-7 people just clicking pictures and going away. Well it’s a smaller version than expected though built nicely. The place could be made vibrant by adding more food stalls or shopping stalls to add a bling.

Visitors interested in urban planning, architecture, and design will find this center appealing.
This place is usually less crowded. And it's a must visit for the Art and Design enthusiasts. This is the iconic place where Le Corbusier designed the iconic city of Chandigarh. The centre offers a quiet, thoughtfully curated look into Le Corbusier’s work, his connection with Chandigarh, and the planning that went into building the city. It’s both peaceful and deeply insightful and a must-visit for anyone who lives in or visits Chandigarh. Highly recommended!

Sector 7 Social is a trendy hangout spot in Chandigarh known for its modern Indian cuisine, cocktails, and stylish decor. Located in Sector 7 and Elante Mall, it offers a vibrant social space with eclectic ambiance and innovative concepts that cater to the city's young clientele. The interior features chic industrial design with exposed brick walls, original artwork, and comfortable seating.
Our colleague brought us here after shopping and we quite enjoyed the food. The spicy mom's weren't too spicy and I could eat a whole bunch of those any day of the week! The veg wrap was excellent and the rice bun with the fried veg patty was also delicious (yummy sauce). I would definitely go back next time I'm in Mohali!

Visited Social and ordered Bhelpuri, fresh lemon water, and the Aloo Tikki burger. The Bhelpuri had a nice flavor but unfortunately arrived a bit soggy, which took away from the crunch you’d expect. The lemonade was quite disappointing — I had to send it back, and even the replacement lacked freshness and balance. The Aloo Tikki burger was decent, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, a mixed experience — some hits and misses. Hoping for better consistency next time.

Trendy Vibes and Great Food – Sector 7 Social is a Must-Visit! Sector 7 Social is hands down one of the coolest and most happening spots in Chandigarh! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a unique industrial-chic décor, upbeat music, and a lively ambiance that sets the tone for a great time. Whether you're out for a casual meal, catching up with friends, or looking for a fun night out, Social delivers on all fronts. The menu is extensive and creatively curated, offering a mix of Indian, Asian, Continental, and fusion dishes. The Butter Chicken Biryani, Chinese Bhel, and Social Mezze Platter are absolute must-tries! Portion sizes are generous, and the flavors are consistently impressive. Their cocktail selection and mocktails are equally impressive—crafted beautifully and full of flavor. Try the Trip on the Drip or Social Screwdriver for a refreshing kick. The staff is courteous, attentive, and efficient, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Service is quick even during peak hours, and the overall vibe is energetic yet comfortable. What makes Sector 7 Social stand out is its blend of great food, aesthetic interiors, and a vibrant crowd. Perfect for brunches, dinners, or working from their co-working zone during the day. Highly recommended for foodies, creatives, and anyone looking to unwind in a fun and stylish setting! Will definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely brilliant time to be had here! We thoroughly enjoyed our time. SANDEEP made us very welcome, and MANN looked after us at the table. We had the best food and drinks, pretty reasonable for NRI's, I suppose. There small quirky ideas make the place enjoyable to be at! I will add pictures!!

One of the best vibing restaurant we went to. The interiors are interesting and quirky. Little ideas for cutlery or sitting bring a smile on the face. Ambience 10/10 if u are looking for loud music. Service : The staff is extremely well trained and receptive. Food : Below average. 1. Wasabi hasbrown Chaat: Poor - no wasabi in it. It was sent back to the kitchen and we received back half the qty and yet very little wasabi. NOT RECOMMENDED. 2. Crispy Corn : Perfect. One of the best. 3. Abra Kebab Platter for 4: PURE CHEATING. A '4 person platter' was ordered and yet paneer tikka and kebabs were 3 each (it wasnt an error from chef) Unsure how they want these to be divided among 4 people. For 750 rupees it was a rip off. Btw the paneer tikka, chaap and mushroom tasted bad. Hara bhara kebab was really good. They have revamped the entire menu. Food used to be great at Social but this time it left me asking for more. Pizza - ultra thin so that it can qualify as a papad. But it was good.

Social Sector 7 is chaos, but the fun kind! 🎶🍸 Come here to dance away stress, eat food that never disappoints, and soak in a vibe that screams weekend goals. After a long week, this place is the ultimate post-work stress buster. It does get loud (think “can’t-hear-my-own-thoughts” loud 😂), so corner tables are your best bet for conversations. If you’re after energy, madness, and a guaranteed good time—this is THE spot in Chandigarh!

Coffee shop
Books N Brew, located in Sector 16, Chandigarh, is a haven for book lovers and coffee aficionados. The cafe offers a cozy ambiance with shelves filled with books and an array of aromatic coffee blends. It's the perfect spot for engaging in intellectual conversations or enjoying leisurely meetups with friends. Known for hosting music performances, poetry recitals, and open mic nights, this vibrant cafe provides a lively atmosphere for visitors to relax and unwind.
If there’s one place in Chandigarh that I can’t get enough of, is this cafe. It’s an absolutely beautiful and cozy place to relax with your partner or friend. This place has an ambience of modern day cafe with a youth felt vibe. It’s small yet spacious with seating options like tables, couches, bunk seatings, outdoor sofas, etc. they host live music every evening starting 7 pm. All the guests enjoy the music with rhymes and sing-along. Each seating space has a QR code to scan for menu and place order, the housekeeping staff brings your food with care and optimum temperature. Their cold coffees are quite good and must try. Guests can play games like cards, jenga, etc that the cafe provides along with some books to read. I saw students doing their assignments and some professionals working on their laptops while sitting in the cafe. It’s a good place for youngsters to savour a coffee and a quick bite while they finish their tasks.

This cafe holds a special place in my heart. I first visited with someone very dear to me. We sampled a variety of dishes, all of which were incredibly flavorful. On our second visit, while the initial magic wasn't quite replicated, the food remained consistently good. We couldn't finish everything, so the kind staff thoughtfully packaged the leftovers for us. Today, on Christmas Day, I returned to the cafe, though the circumstances are different. That special someone is no longer by my side. Despite the bittersweet memories, I decided to try one of the dishes I enjoyed before. It was just as delicious as I remembered, a comforting reminder of happier times. You should visit this place if you need comfort and good food.
Akarsh T — Google review
No doubt the aesthetic of the cafe was good but the food was so bad and their service was also not good. They didn’t give us cutlery and even when we asked it took them another 20 mins to get it. Apart from that, the food was also average, the fried rice was uncooked and even the bathrooms there are so unhygienic. I really don’t recommend this cafe. You can find more aesthetic cafes with neat bathrooms and good food anywhere else in Chandigarh . They take so much time to deliver any food, beat, cutlery, spoons, plates, water, highly disappointed.
Sneha H — Google review
A cozy place in the midst of chandigarh. Though I didn't liked the coffee that much, but the atmosphere was vibrant and peaceful. The design is terrific, there is so much space in the little room. I really liked the outside view through the plants! Overall a good place to go to for vibes.
Prince B — Google review
Brew and Books is an interesting concept, combining coffee and literature, but my experience was a bit mixed. While they do offer coffee, the loud music makes it difficult to enjoy a quiet reading session, which was disappointing given the name. The ambiance is nice for hanging out with friends, and I appreciated the selection of books on the shelves and games available for entertainment. However, the customer service was lacking; I was greeted with stares instead of a warm welcome, which set a negative tone for my visit. As for the coffee, it was below average. I believe they could benefit from investing in better baristas or higher-quality coffee beans to elevate the experience. On a positive note, the interior is quite appealing, filled with interesting artwork, and they have cozy nooks where you can relax. Overall, Brew and Books has potential, but improvements in service and coffee quality would make a significant difference

Books N Brew is a charming café tucked away in the heart of Chandigarh’s Sector 16D, perfect for those who crave a mix of coffee, books, and creativity. Located on the first floor of SCO 8, this café offers a cozy and welcoming ambience that makes you want to slow down and unwind. The seating is a blend of indoor comfort and quirky décor, with bookshelves lining the walls, board games stacked on tables, and art pieces adding to the café’s personality. Whether you’re a student, a freelancer, or simply someone looking for a quiet space, this spot offers the right atmosphere. The menu offers a decent variety—from coffees and teas to pasta, sandwiches, and desserts. Their cold coffee and peri-peri fries are particularly popular. Prices are reasonable and portions satisfying. What truly sets Books N Brew apart is its community vibe. It often hosts open mics, poetry readings, and small art events, making it a cultural hub for the creative crowd in Chandigarh. Service is friendly, and the staff generally allow guests to sit for long durations, making it ideal for reading, studying, or working remotely. All in all, Books N Brew is not just a café—it’s an experience that blends warmth, art, and food beautifully. Cozy Ambiance: Wooden furnishings, bookshelves lining the walls, framed artwork, and comfortable seating setups ideal for reading or socializing. Bookshelf Display: Numerous books arranged on shelves—highlighting that the café places a strong emphasis on literature and reading space. Soft, Warm Lighting: Ambient lighting and decor that create an inviting vibe—a relaxing atmosphere for sipping coffee and browsing books.

The food was ok, not worth going for it specifically. And honestly takes wayy to long to get the food. But The system of ordering and paying is efficient and the vibe is really good So if you want a place to hangout with friends with a few board games or wanna study maby this would work.

Ordered Aam Panna and Creamy Mushroom on Toast. When the food arrived, I wasn’t expecting much—but wow, the Creamy Mushroom on Toast totally stole the show. Rich, flavorful, comforting—just chef’s kiss. And just as we were mid-chew, mid-sentence, mid-life crisis, they cranked up the music. Hindi songs at full blast—because apparently, silence is too middle class. I came to eat food, not to relive my cousin’s sangeet. Next time, please choose between café or club. You can’t be both unless you’re in a bad Netflix teen series.

This is not actually a bird sanctuary. It is just a park where you can walk and have a stroll. You can come with your family here and enjoy some time. It is a good and quiet place to spend time with yourself and with your family. You can come with a few friends also if you want. The park is open the whole day. The is an area of this park which is locked. I think the birds are available in that area, but it is closed for the public. The timings are displayed on the board attached with this review. The board has two different timings. You can check it up. One timing is 5:00 am to 8:00 pm and the other one is 5:30 am to 7:00 pm. I suppose it is the winter and the summer timing.

Chandigarh's Bird Park, located close to the city’s Rock Garden, is a well-maintained, nature-exclusive sanctuary for birds. It covers a large area and is divided into different sections (e.g., aquatic birds, aerial birds, etc.). The enclosures are clean, and the birds are properly fed and cared for. Visitors are strictly advised not to feed any of the creatures. You can carry your camera to capture shots of the beautiful feathered residents. For those interested in botany, the park also features a plant section based on zodiac signs, with plants clearly labelled. The ideal time to visit is early morning or late afternoon. While inside, do practice basic civic sense and avoid causing any disturbance or chaos, especially in the enclosed areas.

Lake Reserved Forest is a 216-acre protected nature reserve featuring a picturesque lake and diverse flora and fauna. The area offers enchanting walks through pine forests and rolling slopes, with the opportunity to catch breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges from higher elevations. Accessible via an exhilarating drive from Banjar, the journey involves steep ascents and descents that require a capable vehicle, skilled driver, and good visibility due to the challenging terrain.
I recently visited Lake Reserved Forest with my family, and it was a wonderful experience. The environment is peaceful and refreshing, perfect for a relaxing day in nature. The scenery is beautiful, with lush greenery and calm water, making it an ideal spot for family outings. We really enjoyed our time there, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature

Do not miss the walk through the pine forests and meandering slopes. Climb a bit to the upper areas and you will see snow clad Himalayan ranges far away. A very delightful experience indeed. The drive from Banjar to this area is exciting with steep ascends and descends, not for the weak hearted or for the inexperienced driver. A good vehicle, skilled driver, good visibility conditions etc are important to avoid dangers as there are portions with steep hillsides on the side of the roads. Very beautiful place nicely maintained very clean and peaceful environment must visit spot in Chandigarh. Nice and new tourist attractions at Chandigarh. Equal efforts are being made to develop the same more. One more feather in the cap of Chandigarh. Good place for walking. About 3 km from the entrance to the other end. Established in 1976, this enchanting park is renowned for its stunning collection of 65 varieties of bougainvillea, which bloom in a riot of colors throughout the year. Visitors flock to this picturesque spot not only for its floral beauty but also to enjoy the serene atmosphere created by flowering trees and a poignant war memorial dedicated to Indian soldiers.
This place seems like a hidden gem or an undiscovered spot. I decided to explore it and was amazed to see it. Now I feel should have visited here earlier. The place has very large area and yet seems to be well maintained, although some patches were logged with mud due to rain. The place has war memorial at entrance and gives those vibes at visiting the place. People enjoy there and also kids practice for games. Place has good scenic beauty with photogenic places.

Nestled along the Geri route in Chandigarh, Casa Bella Vista is a delightful pizzeria that promises an authentic Italian dining experience. With its enchanting garden seating adorned with twinkling fairy lights and a cozy indoor area featuring a live pizza counter, this eatery offers the perfect ambiance for enjoying delicious wood-fired pizzas. The menu extends beyond pizzas to include traditional Italian dishes such as lasagna, pasta, risotto, and crepes, complemented by an array of teas and coffees.
Casa Bella Vista cafe in sector 10, Chandigarh, was a lovely dining experience. The ambiance was exquisitely beautiful and cozy, and the service was remarkably exceptional. The food portions were generous. We selected the menu, which included Glassy Noodles, Pasta Quattro Formaggi ( Creamy four cheese pasta), Red Ravioli Pesto, Half Half Farmhouse, and Margherita Pizza.

This place has such a lovely ambience – really gives off those cozy European vibes. The staff was polite and welcoming, which made the experience better. The food was okayish, not exceptional but decent. What really stood out for me was the playlist – the background music is just perfect and adds a great charm to the whole atmosphere. A nice spot if you’re looking for good vibes and a relaxed evening.

This was my second visit to the restaurant. I loved the 1st visit. The food was delicious and had amazing tiramisu. Recommended it to so many people after the 1st visit. I am so much disappointed in the recent visit. The food was pretty okayish. The Alfredo pasta signature of casa bella vista was sour. The sauce wasn't good at all. The tiramisu didn't meet the expectations (however that is what i literally went back to this restaurant for). The farmhouse pizza was good. It has a good ambience and vibe. However the food is just average. Good here for the vibe and ambience.

The night club Playboy Club Chandigarh is a great place to go for a party. The DJ is amazing and the food is really good. The only downside is that it can get crowded, so make sure you go early enough to avoid disappointment.
This is best club in chandigarh, no doubt about it. The videos I am posting is from off season, so imagine what would be the crowd and vibe when it is party time. Best time to go is around 10:30 pm. Try to go along with a girl to avoid stag entry. There food quality and service quality is awesome.
Pardeep K — Google review
This club is located at 3rd floor Emporium Mall, entry fee is 1000/- per couple which is redeemable. I reachd at 9.30 PM and whole club was empty. Crowd started coming after 10.30 Pm. Menu is very limited, Food is worst, price is rocket high. It’s only if you want to drink and dance. Everything overcharged. Slow service.
Manu S — Google review
Hospitality - 0, totally sucks, no one was friendly or smiling at their customers, and the waiters was bugging people to pay bill, even some of us already settled Rates - very expensive, also they have scams going on, outside we paid for table, and when we came inside; they said no and we have to add more money, the place and crowd is not worth it. But if you got money to waste, then why not?
Parmvir S — Google review
I got in and they charged me 10,000 rupees for entry which also included a tab of 10,000 rupees for drinks. This was a lie as soon as I got 5 drinks worth 400 rupees each they said that my 10,000 rupee card limit has reached its limit. The music is the only thing that was good and the fact you can smoke in the club. Majority of the occupants who come to the club are paid to come by management so the ratio looks good.
Jay D — Google review
The hype and expectations were too high because this club has been trending everywhere offlate. The food quality was not very good, there was no seating provided... they charge for seating and that too a humongous 3500 rupees per table. The crowd was decent though, not very happening on Wednesday night parties... The Ambience and the built of the place is nice, dj is poor. Mostly this club is famous for the pictures in the entryway( with the golden corridoor). Not worth the hype.
Tania C — Google review
Loved It. Went there on its opening night and it was worth it completely. The atmosphere and ambience is too good. Although a seperate smoking area would have been a great plus point. Bartenders here can handle the crowd efficiently and Sheesha here is also top notch. Would definitely be visiting it next week also.

Can try for once & beware of there staff I caught them 3 times they swap more money than my bill (bill actually they don’t provide) I ordered BBQ chicken wings that cost 599 rs but he swap out 800 rs I thought May be taxes extra but I was wrong, against a bill of 1100 rs he swap out 1400 rs then I ask from him he feel sorry and ask me to give him 100 and he buy a more beer for me or I can take 300 rs coupons from him. Completely worst experience.

I took online classes with them. It was horrible, the teachers were extremely unprofessional. They'd either turn off their camera or the wifi won't work. When requested to correct it, I was passive-aggressively attacked. Despite multiple requests and formal emails, I decided to stop attending the class than to waste my time. Funnily, they don't even care. I'd rather pay more and do a private tutor than study with AF Chandigarh.

Historical landmark
The Tower of Shadows, also known as the Shadow Tower, is a remarkable architectural structure in Chandigarh, India. Designed by the renowned architect Le Corbusier, it stands as a testament to his innovative approach to sun control and study of solar movements. This historical site is part of the Capitol Complex, which includes imposing concrete buildings like the High Court and Secretariat. The tower's purpose was to create shade and allow for natural ventilation while showcasing captivating shadows created by harnessing natural light.
The Capitol Complex has distinctive features that make it recognisable in my eyes; the three pillars of democracy of the High Court; the distinguished Open Hand and its deep amphitheatre; the colourful entry gate of the Palace of Assembly; the sun diagram on the Geometric Hill; and the monkeys on the Tower of Shadows. Speaking of, I admire Le Corb’s artistic expression, to study light and shadow and implement them into the Capitol Complex while planning the city, is symbol in itself. However, despite the admiration of his art, the Complex does occupy expansive space that seem unnecessary, apart from a grandeur aesthetic.
Cherry J — Google review
The Tower Shadows is one of the four monuments at the Capitol complex designed by Le Corbusier The structure is designed in such a way that during Summers no sun light enters it and during winters it is full of warm sunlight It casts shows in different lengths

The best thing for all the architects, who want to understand the techniques and angles of Fins. This structure give you a clear idea that how Le Corbusier created an envelope around his buildings to protect it from direct sunlight.
Sami A — Google review
The Tower of Shadows, part of Le Corbusier's architectural ensemble in Chandigarh, is a minimalist masterpiece. Its stark design and strategic placement demonstrate Corbusier's innovative exploration of light and shadow. The play of sunlight creates ever-changing geometric patterns, offering a dynamic visual experience. The tower's simplicity is deceptive, concealing a thoughtful study of elemental forms and their impact on human perception. As an experimental space, it remains a testament to Corbusier's avant-garde approach, provoking contemplation on the intersection of architecture and the sensory experience. The Tower of Shadows stands as an enduring symbol of Chandigarh's architectural experimentation and modernist legacy.
Bethany L — Google review
The Shadow Tower, Capitol Complex. Le Corbusier constructed it in such a way that not a single ray of sun enters it from any angle (specifically in summer). The north side of this tower remains open because the sun never shines from this direction. Le Corbusier used the same principle for other Capitol Complex buildings as well. studies of sunlight are clearly in evidence in many of the Indian projects ,the most consummate example of this approach is without question that made for the Tower of shadows, also known as the ‘Tower of 4 horizons’, with which Le Corbusier graced the esplanade of the Capitol at Chandigarh. Like the Open Hand and Monument to the Martyrs, the Tower is a symbolic attribute of the Capitol and has no specific function. Le Corbusier described it as ‘a very open hall, very high and shadowy’, its sombre atmosphere intended to invite meditation 🧘‍♀️.It can also be seen as a sort of manifesto for the brise-soleil, demonstrating, as the architect noted, ‘that the sun can be controlled at all four cardinal points of an edifice and even manipulated in a hot country to reduce temperatures’ .

Before that you need to take a permit from Forest Department Sector 19. You need to fill a form, send it via email and within 1-2 days you can collect your permit from guard any time. I have shared format as well. At end there is large park where you can sit and enjoy peaceful place. Park is maintained by Forest department and you can see spotted dears and Nilgai there. Patton Tank Monument, Chandigarh The Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 was a culmination of skirmishes that took place between April 1965 and September 1965 between Pakistan and India. The conflict began following Pakistan's Operation Gibraltar, which was designed to infiltrate forces into Jammu and Kashmir to precipitate an insurgency against Indian rule. India retaliated by launching a full-scale military attack on West Pakistan. The seventeen-day war caused thousands of casualties on both sides and also witnessed the largest tank battle since World War II. Hostilities between the two countries ended after a United Nations mandated ceasefire was declared following diplomatic intervention by the Soviet Union and the United States, and the subsequent issuance of the Tashkent Declaration. The 1965 war witnessed some of the largest tank battles since World War II. At the beginning of the war, the Pakistani Army had both a numerical advantage in tanks, as well as better equipment overall. Pakistani armor was largely American-made; it consisted mainly of Patton M-47 and M-48 tanks, but also included many M4 Sherman tanks, some M24 Chaffee light tanks and M36 Jackson tank destroyers, equipped with 90 mm guns. Indian Army destroyed as many as 300 Patton tanks. As per Indian Defense News, the Pakistanis would abandon a tank soon after it was hit, fearing that it would catch fire and they would be charred in flames—not the best way to die for a Muslim. This M46 Patton Tank was captured during 1965 Indo Pak War in the battle of Asaluttar Punjab. It was restored and reinstalled during 50th Anniversary. Inaugurated by Shri Vijay Dev, IAS , Advisor to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh on 31st August 2015. It is installed at the parking lot opposite the Chandigarh Government Museum.
