Restaurant
Casino Nova Scotia, situated in downtown Halifax, is a lively destination offering over 500 slot machines and various table games like blackjack, roulette, and poker. The casino also features new dining options and free live entertainment to enhance the overall experience. It's conveniently located on the Halifax waterfront boardwalk, allowing visitors to enjoy stunning views of the harbor while indulging in local culinary delights and cultural experiences.
This is an awesome little Casino the food in a restaurant is very reasonably priced and very good the staff is phenomenal including the security guards
Glenn C — Google review
I haven’t been to the casino in a long time, and unfortunately, the service this time was really poor. The roulette dealers felt slow and under-trained, which made the game drag, and there was no table drink service at all, which really took away from the atmosphere. The bright spots of the night were the fun live band and enjoying May Garden’s food they definitely helped make the evening better. Overall, there’s potential here, but service and training need a serious upgrade to match the entertainment.

***Update August 24th 2025, your silence says it all!!!!**** ****Update July 30th 2025, after reading several reviews with the same problem & issues, you would think management would acknowledge the review with a response, especially when they especially directed torwards women**** I would love to rate but unfortunately my wife was deemed intoxicated LOL she had one Martini and the security guard refused her but the 3 girls right behind us half drunk ( please check your security cameras) I’m the guy that said your Punjabi security guard has zero tolerance for alcohol. Funny how an establishment that serves booze isn’t kinda stupid. Especially when half the people are gambling and drunk and let’s not forget stoned too. Anyways thank you for saving us money and rather give my hard earned cash to the reserves.

For those seeking great quality food for the reasonable buffet price think again. Good news - the buffet listed here is a mere $30 per person. Bad news - the buffet listed here is a mere $30 per person. I went in with both eyes wide open and a cynical mindset in lieu of the way too reasonable $30 all-you-can-eat charge, but Casino Nova Scotia still exceeded my disappointment by serving one of the WORST meals I've ever eaten. Meaning I've had a meal at the horrible Hometown Buffet down in the neighborhood of Van Nuys, CA that was dirty as dirt - Casino Nova Scotia makes that now closed hellhole look like Cafe Sierra at Citywalk in LA. (Which serves a glorious seafood buffet for $150 a person!) First off the sides are seriously lagging. Meaning there are two sides tables to this "buffet" - but both have the exact same sides which means very little selection. Some meager and odd salad options, (cold mac and cheese...as a salad?!) plain mashed potatoes, crappy barely sauced pasta, overdone fried pickles, dry cornbread and overcooked Salmon. (The ONLY minor edible was the Alfredo sauced chicken - my guest didn't dig the garlic flavor - but when cheap as dirt chicken is your TOP meat at a Prime Rib feast you got problems!) So get to the nitty gritty - the main feature in the prime rib dinner - the prime rib. The one that drew me to this experience on a Saturday evening. (I've included a pic of what was online so you can see what I was expecting - yeah right!) Was it good? Was it sliced with picturesque medium rare glistening goodness like in the promised photo? What in fact...was there? A new roast was brought out right in front of me and it took them 5 minutes to lift it from the metal serving tray to the so called carving space dead center as it was falling apart in dripping chunks. Wet, overcooked and stringy as a yarn ball, this was the absolute worst meat I've ever had in my life. I cannot in good conscience call it prime rib - think roast beef, overdone and almost inedible. (The pic attached shows no such string stuff in it's advertising!) Finally to the desserts which were overly sweet and the only saving grace being the cobbler with fresh cream - again my guest was not a fan of the blueberries filling - but even then found what looked to be a pastry bag plastic topper in the cream on my cobbler. (Put it aside and kept eating - was starving and didn't care at that point!) So the moral here - you get what you pay for. They are using the sub-par kitchen and chefs to create a grotesque meal in a sneaky effort to get you in...to play casino games. This is not Gordon Ramsey's adjoining restaurant to compliment the ambience - this is a food that he would spit out and then close the place down. But even at mere $30 (or lesser if you are a casino gambling member) a starving hobo would feel ripped off, unsatisfied and mighty mad. Splurge on something better and avoid the con - here endeth the lesson.
FlicksForFans — Google review
The interior to this casino is NOT inviting compared to the ones in Ontario. This one is in dire need a makeover with new lighting and a functional layout when compared to Shorelines Casinos that I visit in Ontario. Their machines are more forgiving when it comes to winning! While there for a conference, I sat at a bank of six machines with an increasing payout. I witness two payouts of $10+K within 2 days of each other. Something completely unheard of in Ontario.

Very fancy dining hall. We use this for an event. I'm sure it's also suitable for a wedding or another occasion. The food was pretty spot on, especially the dessert.

My husband and I visited while we the casino while we were staying in Halifax at the Lord Nelson. We liked the set up, and the staff. We had the fortunate chance of winning, and the lady who came to pay us out was so pleasant. Thank you a nice experience.

Ok, a bit dark with a somewhat run down feel. Dealer was very nice, but very new and slow. She should have had better training. Black Jack payout at 3 to 2 was good.

Indian restaurant
Halal restaurant
Vegetarian restaurant
Dhaba Express is a renowned family-owned restaurant in Halifax, NS that has been consistently voted as the best Indian restaurant in the area for seven years. They offer authentic traditional Indian cuisine from both northern and southern regions, with a focus on vegetarian options. The restaurant provides dine-in and takeaway services, allowing customers to enjoy their flavorful meals at their convenience. Customers have praised the Beef Vindaloo, Dal, and Thali dishes for their mouthwatering flavors and tender meats.
My first visit to the main restaurant in a fair old while, having been frequenting their offshoot in Bedford recently when the curry craving hits. It's larger than it was first time I visited, but still in the little strip mall off Chain Lake Drive. There are two rooms either side of the entrance, both cool, subtly lit and cozy. It was just after they opened on a summer's Thursday morning, so I was the first customer and quickly ordered the meat thali. This comes in six segments. Two meat curries which change from time to time (today it was beef and chicken). A very nice dhal, a good portion of rice, chickpea salad and a quartered plain naan. All very tasty and overall quite a sizeable portion. I was on the ravenous side of peckish when I arrived and left thoroughly stuffed, so you definitely get your value for the $23 with tip. It's not licensed, but has a nice line in cold drinks should you so desire. It's no surprise this place is consistently voted No.1 curry house in Halifax, though it has a lot more competition than it did when it first opened. Thoroughly recommended.

The worst food I have ever ordered ! The Nan and parotta were soaked in burnt oil. Dal makhni was completely stale, I could smell it even from across the room. Aloo gobhi and halwa all tasted sour and stale and it was completely inedible. You should be ashamed to serve such horrible food to people and putting their health at risk.
Kunal G — Google review
I’ve been a regular customer at Dhaba for several years and I love Dhaba’s butter chicken. A couple of years ago, I noticed they started reducing the amount of chicken in their butter chicken, but it was still acceptable. Today, I ordered a kid-sized butter chicken for my daughter and was shocked to find only three pieces of chicken. Extremely disappointed

Went for dinner and ordered chicken 65 and lamb curry.I have tried all the so called Indian restaurants but this place serves the world's best food They cook food and serve food with love you can tell that just after having first bite! Chicken 65 is the most famous and perfect dish for all nationalities The best thing is they costumiz according to your taste and is always perfect. The staff is extremely polite specifically Judi . Whenever we visit there she remembers all the customers and provides exceptional customer service, makes us feel special!

I came in today to order the food and the lady who serve me her name was Yudi she was really sweat and nice having a pretty smile on face, she was very good at service, 10/10 on service.☺️
AMRITJOT C — Google review
The buffet on Sunday afternoon costs $17.99 and they have decent # of options. I will say this place is indocanadian more so than Indian 🤔🤔 the food is neutral spice n flavor for an Indian. It will be good selection of items for someone who wants to try few things n good quantity and not spend close to a $100 then go for the buffet. We tried their menu items before and we were of course able to ask the spice level we want and those tasted good. Definitely more expensive than buffet.
Karthik P — Google review
The worst Indian meal we have ever had and we have eaten at many excellent Indian restaurants. This is definitely one of them. Where do we start - the “nan” is unlike any we have ever eaten it is more like a flat bread. The curry had loads of grease and hardly any chicken. The rice is not like regular saffron rice, which is much finer. The pics speak for themselves. It was expensive for sub-standard food and we won’t be returning.
Helen S — Google review
I've been here a couple of times. You wont be disappointed. Food is superb! Its infused with flavor it just overwhelms you. We had the butter chicken, which was so good. Didnt feel the chicken tikka masala as much The garlic and cilantro naan was tasty! We also had the paes gala. That was nice. The service couldn't have been any better. Phenomenal. Kudos to staff. 5 stars. Price. Was a bit up there. Dishes were $15 each. Overall I paid $50 some. Seating was really good and very clean. Delicious food. Will be back!

Japanese restaurant
This Japanese restaurant offers all-you-can-eat sushi and main courses such as Japanese curry and Thai green curry. The servers are attentive and the food is fresh and delicious. All of the dishes come with rice, soup or salad, so there's plenty to choose from. The portions are small so you can try a lot of different things, and it's also possible to order additional items if you want.
Mizu on Portland in Dartmouth is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving exceptional sushi and a truly delightful dining experience. Every visit reinforces why this charming spot has become a local favorite. From the moment you step inside, the customer service is incredibly welcoming and quaint. The staff consistently goes above and beyond, making you feel genuinely taken care of and ensuring you're completely satisfied with your meal. Their attentiveness truly enhances the entire dining experience. And then there's the food – simply delicious! The sushi is always incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or new to Japanese cuisine, you'll be impressed by the quality and taste. Beyond the superb sushi, everything on the menu offers fantastic value, making it an incredibly rewarding culinary experience that won't break the bank. Mizu on Portland consistently delivers on all fronts: delicious food, amazing value, incredibly fresh sushi, and customer service that makes you feel like family. We always leave feeling happy and thoroughly satisfied. Highly, highly recommend!

Food was good. It took a little longer than usual, but it was busy with large parties. Friendly staff. My daughter loves sushi and said the all you can eat was well worth it. Prices go up $34.99 at 2:30pm and is $1 more on Fridays, weekends and holidays.
Tammy N — Google review
such a nice place! every employee is extremely nice and will go out of the way for any needs you have, food is 10/10 with a wide variety of options. every person i've brought with me loved it. my go to restaurant at LEAST 3 times a week!!!

We had all you can eat buffet. Lovely, fresh, and we stuffed ! Went with 7 people and paid 36 .99 cad/ person on the weekend. Loved the desert! It was worth it.
Reem A — Google review
I had a great experience. They have great selection of food. So many different rolls to choose from. I liked that they had kimchi and dessert cakes on the AYCE menu. Most other places just give you ice cream at the end. One constructive criticism that I wish they would heed (and also for others to be aware when ordering): The rolls are humongous. See pic. Each piece is almost the size of a palm of a male adult. With such big pieces, I was unable to try many of their menu. Some come with 6 pieces per order, which is enough in its own to be a meal for some. Since the point of AYCE is to try variety of menu, I recommend you significantly reduce the size of your rolls. Or at least offer half serving sizes for table with small groups. You offer like 20 different variety of rolls, but I can only eat 3 due to their sizes. But overall, I like this restaurant, and will return to try ones I couldn't on the last visit.
Jimbo J — Google review
Everything from start to finish was absolutely fabulous. The food is always fast, fresh and delicious. The staff always friendly and outgoing and the restaurant is always clean. I recommend this restaurant to any sushi lover!
Melissa H — Google review
Only 4 stars but a lot of good things to say about Mizu. First. We came around supper time. The place is packed. But we only waited in line for no more than 15 minutes tops. We went with the all you can eat. Ordering through the tablet was very convenient. They didn't screw around like other sushi places and try to not bring out an item or two. Service was 5 Stars! Kudos Now the food. Personally I'm not really an appetizers person. I tried a couple and it's just not my thing. The rolls though! Dont miss the Philadelphia and moon roll. The volcano roll was RIDICULOUS! Deep fried California, was ok. Price. Compared to other sushi places. This is a couple of bucks more expensive. $26 per person I think. I'd pay that difference for the excellent service. Food comes to your table so fast you'd think you're in the ring with Mike Tyson trying to dodge hits. They're fast! Overall this is a top all you can eat place in Dartmouth. Will be back in the future. Thanks Mizu!

Beer store
Catering food and drink supplier
Waterfront Warehouse is a cozy restaurant with a rustic ambiance, serving an array of seafood delicacies and raw bar items alongside an impressive selection of beers and cocktails. One of its standout dishes is the lobster mac & cheese, perfectly balancing the richness of lobster with the indulgence of this classic comfort food. Situated near Salt Yard, a vibrant public space on Halifax's waterfront, Waterfront Warehouse offers visitors the chance to savor delicious meals while enjoying scenic views and sea air along the boardwalk.
We came here twice during our vacation. The restaurant has a nice fun atmosphere. The food here is excellent! We had the molasses brown bread, fried calamari, and bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers, and fish and chips and lobster rolls for dinner. Everything was so delicious and there was a lot of lobster in the rolls. Even the fries are super good and crunchy. We had the blueberry buckle for dessert. Our server Maggie was very nice and friendly and took good care of us. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
Patty G — Google review
We were craving fresh seafood and this place have the best selections. Open bar and wide variety of drinks. Service was fast and friendly. We had raw scallops, little neck and cherry clams. Very good. The fish and chips is also very good. Best of all the whole lobsters were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Must try when in this area.
M J — Google review
I can't say enough good things about this place! Stopped in for the first time on a whim during Buskers with my dog, as they offered a pet friendly patio. Great view for people watching and not crowded at all. I appreciated the dog rules posted so everyone knew what was expected of them. Ordered the lobster roll with a Caesar salad. BEST lobster roll I've had in ages!! Generous amount of lobster, fresh, cold, well seasoned mixed with mayo on a warm, soft bun. Caesar salad was the perfect size and tasty. Great service as well! I can't wait to go back again.
Megan C — Google review
We had a great time at Waterfront Warehouse on the Halifax waterfront during our Maritimes trip. The place has a fun and casual vibe, perfect for hanging out and sharing food with friends or family. We ordered the watermelon salad, which was super refreshing and light. The lobster fries were rich and full of flavour, and the lobster rolls were fresh and tasty. The scallops were the star of the meal—cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavour. We also tried the fried calamari, which was crispy and not greasy at all. Everything came in generous portions, which made it great for sharing. The service was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Sitting by the water added to the experience, and it was just a really enjoyable meal overall. If you’re visiting Halifax and want good seafood in a relaxed spot, this is a solid choice. I’d definitely come back.
Marcus L — Google review
I had the fish and chips and I couldn’t fault it. My wife chose the tuna poke and it was delicious and large enough to satisfy even the hungriest diner we also had a stood fresh clams which were fresh and in my opinion tastier than oysters. You must try the molasses bread with whipped maple butter. The beer selection was also great. Wow. Best meal in every way. Great servers.
Nadine P — Google review
We had such a great experience here! The servings were very generous, so it’s definitely worth the price. On top of that, the service was impressively fast and friendly, which made the whole dining experience even better. Plus, it’s just a short walking distance from the Broadwalk, making it super convenient to stop by. Highly recommend for anyone looking for tasty food, big portions, and quick service!
Nerie R — Google review
Waterfront Warehouse is a good option to go to if you’re looking to eat somewhere with a more laid back vibe. Their servers are friendly & do come around often. They also have a ton of seating so walk ins didn’t take long to get seated. They also have a good variety of options on their menu, but being on the east coast meant choosing all their seafood options. We of course had to get their oysters & the server was knowledgeable on the different oysters given. We also ordered the lobster poutine which was a 9/10. It was very good but not as much lobster in it as I thought. The fish & chips was a massive portion and the fish was so fresh! The batter was light & didn’t drown out the fish itself.
Sheena — Google review
Sophia our server and Krista the Manager are THE BEST!!! We were visiting Halifax for a conference and a group of us decided to head over for some dinner. There was a very small issue with one of our meals. Sophia was very helpful and apologetic. Krista was brought alerted and she came to our table immediately to tend to our friend. They were the BEST and I would highly recommend anyone to come the restaurant. - Cherrystone Clams - Lobster Roll - Whole Lobster Dinner - Lobster Poutine - Fish and Chips ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

Gio Restaurant is a stylish restaurant and lounge in downtown Halifax that offers a diverse, seasonal menu and sommelier-selected wines. It provides a quintessential dining experience with classic fine dining presented in an approachable manner. The extensive menu changes seasonally, featuring the finest ingredients from around the world as well as local produce.
Gio was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The appetizer, Toro, was elegant, fresh, and beautifully presented. The main course, Osso Buco, a braised veal dish was cooked to perfection: tender, rich, and full of flavor. The chef clearly has a remarkable grasp of seasoning and balance. The chocolate cake dessert was phenomenal, rich, decadent, and the perfect sweet finish to an unforgettable meal. Our server was fantastic, attentive, knowledgeable, and her wine recommendation paired perfectly with everything. Highly recommend.

Do yourself a favour and take a step inside. This place looks very unassuming from the outside, to the point that it’s nearly hidden, but it’s well worth your time. First off, the service was top notch. Everything was perfect. I mentioned in my reservation we were coming for a birthday and new job celebration, having asked for nothing more than a candle or something small like that. The staff went well beyond my expectations in many ways. Our server (Oliver?) was an absolute gem as was everyone else. The service was pleasant all around. The food was top notch as well! Phenomenal cocktails, I’ll definitely be coming back to have a taste of the rest of it :)

Exquisite! Gio is a pinnacle of fine dining in Halifax. If you are looking for a magical evening (where cuisine, service, and atmosphere come together in perfect harmony), this is THE place. Each plate, crafted by an exceptional chef, was presented with sophistication in terms of favour and artistry. The ambiance was enchanting, and the staff were gracious, warm and attentive — thanks Olivia :)

We choose Gio as our fancy/splurge restaurant for our 25th anniversary while traveling through Halifax, and it did not disappoint! Our server, Molly, was exceptional. She was friendly and fun without being overbearing and gave us wonderful feedback and recommendations on the menu. The ambiance was beautiful with the perfect lighting. We shared the asparagus appetizer - delicious! For entrees, I had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and stone fruit mustardo which was very good - I loved the sauce so much! My husband had the vegan dish of bulger and veggies which was surprisingly elevated, beautiful, and tasty. We shared two of the desserts, both of which were fabulous - they even wrote "Happy Anniversary" on the plates in chocolate. We would definitely return!

Oscar is one of the best and most professional waiters I’ve ever encountered. The atmosphere was lively without being too loud, and the food was excellent—especially the dessert. Overall, a fantastic experience
Nazia S — Google review
Recently visited here for my birthday, spoke to some folks before hand about accommodating our dietary restrictions (vegan and gluten free). They were lovely and thoughtful, the chef seemed more than happy to create some ideas off menu to ensure our needs were met. The food was delicious and service was attentive. Would definitely visit again. It is so hard to find upscale vegan dining in Nova Scotia, and that much harder for gluten free so this was really special. Would definitely recommend. ♥️
Randee S — Google review
My partner recently took me to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and let me just say.. they DID NOT disappoint. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the staff and our waiter, Oscar. Oscar was friendly and very professional. He did a phenomenal job explaining each item on the menu and making suggestions. It was clear that Oscar is a foodie and passionate about food and the pairings. He made it his mission to ensure we had an amazing dinner. He was meticulous in pairing our meals with the perfect wine and even took the time to explain why he recommended each dish or wine pairing. He asked the right questions to make the perfect recommendations and he was warm and welcoming the entire night. We were even wowed to find out that not only was he our waiter, but he also doubled as the bartender making the most amazing, delicious and refreshing cocktails. If I had a business of my own, Gios would be in a tough spot because I would hired Oscar in the spot lol. The food was amazing. Literally everything we had was 10/10. The appetizers were delicious.. to the point that some dishes like the snapper left us eager for more! We ordered almost a little of everything but my favorites were the parpadelle pasta, the wild boar and red fish. I absolutely loved the flavors in the pasta and the pesto was amazing. The boar was perfectly cooked and the portion was perfect and quite filling. The fish was well seasoned and absolutely delicious. I will absolutely be back to Gio because I have that burger on my mind and I’m yearning for more. Thank you for an amazing dinner & special thanks to Oscar for being the most amazing waiter I have ever experienced. It’s clear you are passionate, love food and take the time to learn and understand the menu in depth. The restaurant is absolutely lucky to have you on their team!!!

Wife and I ate dinner here last night and it was the best meal of our lives We started with oysters, mixed green salad with nuts and goat cheese and a beet medley. My main was the Cornish hen - it Was cooked a perfection with a sticky coding making the outer skin delicious sauce over top to dip was incredible. She had the strip loin with barley. The steak was charred to perfection cut in the centre and serve so you can see your choice of crookedness. It was accompanied with a short rib, croquette, and the barley was also delicious. Even the coffee was picture worthy this place is top shelf atmosphere was great. Service was great. Five star for sure.

Takeout Restaurant
Restaurant
The Great Wall Restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia is a casual Chinese eatery with a traditional ambiance. It offers a variety of Cantonese and Sichuan dishes, including dim sum. Customers praise the delicious food, particularly recommending the C2 combo and honey garlic ribs. The restaurant is known for its friendly and efficient service, with popular menu items like Seafood Double Happiness and Young Chow fried rice receiving high praise for their taste and freshness.
READ FIRST: If you want stir fried noodles order the Low-mein NOT the Chowmein. This is not a negative review and I quite enjoyed my meal (which I will get into later) but after reviewing nearly 40 different Chinese restaurants and always getting Chowmein at every single one, this is the first time that Chowmein did not have noodles. I ordered a vegtable Chowmein with only beansprouts as I did not want other vegetables with my noodles, however, upon getting back to my hotel with my order I realized I had a takeout container full of ONLY BEANSPROUTS. Now the customer service at The Great Wall was excellent as I immediately called the restaurant about my confusion (not having any noodles) and they told me that Chowmein does not have noodles, that is low-mein. They told me if I came back they would give me a plain low-mein (only has beansprouts). I picked up the pain low-mein and (after checking it had noodles) went back to the hotel. The "low-mein" was delicious with great flavor and portion size. I would recommend the "low-mein" to others looking to enjoy some stir-fried noodles. I also got a vegetable egg roll and that was also tasty. A subtle flavor with a crunchy crust and soft interior. Overall I really enjoyed my meal, but the whole experience did leave me confused after ordering Chowmein all my life to all of a sudden have it not include noodles? I would recommend this to others but would only recommend the low-mein, not the Chowmein. I included a photo of the beansprout Chowmein for reference as to the difference between their low-mein and Chowmein options.

Came here on our vacation because my brother was craving Chinese food. I got the Cantonese Chow Mein, which was fantastic! Definitely worth checking them out.

I would say this is a hidden gem in Halifax as this restaurant is quite away from the downtown core. Upon entering the place, you'd feel the ambiance has that authentic Chinese restaurant vibe and I was pleasantly surprised. Now the dishes did not disappoint either. The flavours were rich and the servings were generous for two people. Nevertheless, if one is looking for a good Chinese restaurant around -- whether dine in, pickup or delivery, I would definitely recommend this place.

This restaurant is now my go to for Chinese food in Halifax. A group of us walked into this restaurant and ordered A variety of dishes from the standard chicken balls. Fried rice, spicy noodles and the double seafood of happiness amongst the standard spring rolls and egg rolls. Having placed quite a large order, I was expecting a fair amount of time to have it delivered to the table. So you can imagine my surprise as dishes showed up quickly to our table from our server who was excellent. Most important of all is that not a single dish disappointed the group members who shared in an amazing meal. Will definitely visit or get take out again.

We came here for dinner. The vibe is very chinese. We love the interior and the music. You can really feel the authenticity of a Chinese restaurant. We ordered fried wonton (5☆) for appetizers. And yang chow fried rice, vegetable lo-mien and salt and pepper squid (5☆) for main course. It is so good and flavorful. 5☆s for the service, too.

Sometimes you start craving other foods like Chinese or other Asian foods while on vacation. If you are from the USA this is not it. The server was the best part. We ordered pot stickers, pork fried rice and chicken chow mein. The chow mein wasn’t fried more like low mein boiled and very liquid. The pot stickers were on the smaller side with no pot sticker sauce but a very spicy sauce. The BBQ pork fried rice wasn’t great but it was what I ended up eating because it was the best thing we ordered. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Usually end up being a satisfied customer, even after a few years of ordering here. Until tonight our order had a bloody bandaid in the ginger beef...

Food was adequate. Egg rolls weren't good! Chicken Balls were ok. Asked for Broccoli as a side dish. Charged the Price that was two dollars than if ordered the Beef & Broccoli Combo. (12.99) Broccoli alone 14.95 ...outrageous!!

Founded by chef Richard Wu and his wife Michelle Lin in 2011, the restaurant has garnered acclaim in The Coasts reader-selected Best of Halifax Awards. It offers budget-friendly options such as happy-hour pricing and a 10% discount on takeout orders.
Our first time going to this restaurant and the experience was wonderful. Delicious food. Amazing service. The place was pretty full of customers for lunch rush but our food still came pretty quick. We got 3 extra food items on the house which was so lovely, tasty and unexpected. We will be coming back here for sure! Thanks for the great service!

I've always walked by this restaurant, but it was my first time to eat inside. We ordered a set B for four. The food was served very fast. It was a lot, and the restaurant gave us 4 more rolls for free. We had a big meal. It tasted good, too. Thank you, chef. I just want the rice in the sushi to be small. I'll come again next time.

A top place! A combination of very friendly service, high value for price and delicious, freshly prepared food makes it my only choice to enjoy Japanese cuisine in Halifax. They’re generous and give you free rolls sometimes, I often end up taking a box with me home. And they’re not just about sushi. Take a look at their soup and chicken dinner. Loved every bite. Can’t recommend it enough. Note: it’s a relatively small place, can get full by 9 pm, so you’re advised to come early

Went there while exploring places in halifax and it is one of the best sushi I had so far and this is no exaggeration. We went during happy hours and the store also send in complimentary sushi, saying its on house. I would recommend everyone to try this place for dinner with friends or family. They have crab sushi with mango, it's so good
Jaswinder K — Google review
Went with my girlfriend for lunch the other day and was blown away with the quality and service. I got the chicken katsu don (portion size was very nice and the flavour was great) and the tamago which was also tasty, while my girlfriend got a few different varieties of sushi which she enjoyed. We were very happily surprised when the server bought us some complimentary sushi to the table, which I tried and was very impressed with. Next time I’m in that area I will definitely be back. This is one of those places I would recommend to try if you like Japanese food. I wish them all the best in the future.

I got food poisoning after eating this sushi. I went to the emergency room in the middle of the night with extreme stomach pain. The tuna tasted incredibly fishy and bloody. For two days I had terrible stomach pain, headaches, and fevers, and I could barely eat anything for two days. I can't eat sushi anymore. I will never come here again.

Probably the best sushi I’ve ever had! I’ve been coming here for over 15 years and the prices have stayed consistent as well as the quality of the food! They always give a few free rolls with any order! If you’re in Halifax definitely come here!! It is always my priority when I visit!

Harbourstone Pour House, situated within the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, offers a laid-back ambiance and delectable cuisine. The eatery boasts contemporary decor and serves globally inspired seafood dishes sourced from local ingredients. It is a popular choice for those looking to unwind after exploring Halifax, with a focus on local flavors and craft beers. Guests can enjoy well-seasoned and crispy fries along with tasty burgers while sipping on the signature Dragon Tail cocktail.
The entrance for the restaurant is by the front of the harbour. It is in the Marriot Hotel building. Google map just drops you at the hotel, which was a bit confusing for my case. I ordered vegan food summer harvest bowl and another ordered was aged PEI with chicken. Portions were decent size, atmosphere was calm as it was Sunday morning around noon. Overall good experience 😊 No parking, so park in casino parking

My husband and I stayed at the hotel and came for dinner one of the nights and it was wonderful. He had the cod and I had the risotto and both were really good. Our waitress was lovely as well and the atmosphere was comfortable and it was not very loud when we were there. Highly recommended!

My partner and I went to try their burger for Burger Bash. The other ones I wanted to go to were closed. It was a huge burger that I'm lucky was split in half. The homemade kettle chips were pretty good and the toragashi mayo was great. The burger is the Hali Menchi Katsu. It had tonkotsu sauce, tomatoes and purple cabbage. The bun has seaweed in it and smelled fishy but didn't taste too strong. I had their triple berry bulwark .4% cider and I was shocked that it was actually pretty good. I'm not much for alcoholic cider, so this might be something I would buy again.

Got the concierge club benefits. The food is absolutely inedible. I had a salad. No salt in anything except the olives. Off tasting almost fermented partially frozen green beans; Tasted as if a bag was left to slowly defrost 🤮Server was excellent. Menu options on the concierge club are very minimal. Husband had tacos that were” meh”

Always a great atmosphere! Staff is always great. I'd put their nachos against any in town! Loaded with caramelized onions and bacon !! Great spot for a business meeting but it's downtown Halifax, parking is going to be an issue if you're looking for street parking. Parkade next door will let you get there via the Pedway though.

Stopped in for a light meal. Opted for a large bowl of the bouillabaisse with GF bread. Hubs had the Untypical Clubhouse with turkey and bacon on rye and a small bowl of cream chowder. Both were excellent. Our server, Sharon W, made great suggestions and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. Will definitely eat here again!
Heather T — Google review
Slightly changing my impression from the other day. On my first visit (after about 8 years) I had a few disappointing burgers, but perhaps that can be chalked up to the Mondays. I spoke with Lauren (outlet manager) afterward from my room and she was genuinely amazing. I was invited back for a lunch which I didn’t think I’d be able to make, but with a flight delay took them up on last minute. The fried chicken sandwich the next day was amazing (and big enough for 2). Sometimes how the occasional bad experiences are handled make all the difference, and Lauren was impeccable. I’d certainly go back on my next trip.

Delicious Fish & Chips at Harbourstone in the Halifax Harbourfront Marriott. Fresh haddock in a light and crispy batter with amazing home cut fries. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Restaurant
Harbour City Bar and Grill is a stylish restaurant located in the Delta Halifax Hotel, offering a seasonal regional menu and a happy-hour selection. Despite some slow service on busier days, the portion sizes are good and the food is above average. The fried chicken burger could be improved with larger pieces of chicken, but the pasta and black bean burger are recommended for vegetarians. The steak and frites received high praise, while the fries were noted to be soft instead of crunchy.
I've been meaning to leave a review since eating here a few weeks ago -- the food was delicious, the service pleasant and attentive, and Chef Mohammed made my family and I feel very welcome by coming out to speak to us as we finished up our meal. I only regret that we couldn't come back to try some dishes he recommended, but we were in town for a hospital visit and our schedule didn't allow it. Highly recommended!

This place is difficult to find and hard to get to... The overall experience was fantastic great service, our server was super friendly! The ambiance is nice too-The food is okay. If you're downtown and need some afforsbale seafood maybe come here, otherwise it's okay to skip it out.

We went in after making a reservation on St. Patrick’s Day. Given it was a busier-than-usual day the service was a bit slow(understandable). The portion sizes were fine with the taste being above average. The fried chicken burger was fine although I wish it had one piece of fried chicken instead of few tiny ones as it would be easier to handle. The pasta and the black bean burger were a success and can be recommended for Vegetarian folks. Weirdly their fries were soft and not crunchy. The taste was fine though so not an issue. Highly recommend their Black Forest cake. The taste of Beep Brulee wasn’t something one of our friends expected but the staff was generous enough to replace her order for no extra charge. This was almost at their closing time(Appreciate this for sure). Their service is good and I’ll be sure to visit again someday to try rest of their menu.

Our service was fairly slow, even when they didn't look to be that busy. Really the only negative of an otherwise excellent dining experience. Everything tasted great!

I have enjoyed many meals here. Although the food is very good, especially the breakfast eggs Benedict, the service is why I enjoy going. They have some of the friendliest staff who take the time to get to know you. As a regular visitor, they already know my preferences and greet me like I’m visiting old friends.

This isn't your ordinary hotel restaurant! It's actually fire, the fish and chips were perfection, reasonably priced and a huge portion. Staff were super friendly and sweet. Would definitely come here to enjoy some seafood while staying in Halifax without the "tourist tax" like at the waterfront.

The atmosphere at this place is absolutely amazing, and the quality of the food exceeded all of our expectations. Every dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to excellence. Our experience was made even better by our waiter, Kuzz, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. He was exceptionally friendly, professional, and accommodating, which added a personal and welcoming touch to our visit. We were here to celebrate our friend’s birthday, and we couldn’t have chosen a better spot. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others.

We have been going to Cheelin for the past few years. It is the best Korean BBQ that I have found in Halifax. Great spot for All You Can Eat KBBQ! Ask for their recommendations, because that's what we did and had a stellar dinner. Good cuts, and very plentiful. Ask for their homemade chili powder. It's incredibly good. Photo was round #1!

Come here often. Last two times been disappointed, not with the food but with the service. Last time, several items were not available and were never told. Kept waiting and they never arrived. This time several items were marked as not available so didn’t order those but still didn’t receive all the food we requested. Also noticed staff (2) leave the premise and have their smoke right outside the door just below the no-smoking sign. This was a trial after last time and may wait awhile before going again to see if they increase the items available on their “new” menu and if service is any better. I should mention that we were the only ones in the restaurant so service should have been stellar!

Sushi Jet, located on Robie Street and Salter Street in Halifax, offers an extensive all-you-can-eat sushi menu for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant stands out with its vast selection of about four pages of options, including a variety of vegetarian choices and even fruit sushi. In addition to their sushi offerings, Sushi Jet also features Thai and Japanese menus with affordable lunch specials.
The sashimi was great. The fish was incredibly fresh and melted in my mouth. They have a good variety of rolls and other dishes. However, many of the rolls come in 8-piece servings, which can make it challenging to sample everything when dining at an all-you-can-eat restaurant, especially with smaller groups. The service was excellent.
Niousha N — Google review
I could tell, visiting the other most top-choice places with sushi in HRM, that these sushi rolls is one of the most delicious! The set I big enough - 8 pieces. We ordered 3 sets of sushi rolls and it was just great! If you want to try all other except sushi rolls - go with "all you can eat". Service is kind and careful. The interior and atmosphere is great, with just amazing mirror decor, dark mosaic tile wall panno, nice ambient lighting and cozy atmosphere. Enjoy! Highly recommended, up today - October, 2025

Come here for all you can eat in the weekend and it's only $27.99 before tax and it comes with weekend special items! Food was super delicious and fresh, the only thing I didn't love was how much rice was in the rolls and how much spicy mayo was on top. But just ask them to see if they can reduce that for you! My favourites were: shrimp tempura, takoyaki, chicken yakitori, the butterfish handroll, beef teriyaki, Miao soup and garden salad. The cat robot is super cool. Well worth the money, I didn't take a picture of everything but service was great! They also have a tiger tail ice cream for dessert which apparently is super rare to find.
Shabnam A — Google review
The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our orders arrived at different times, even though we were all seated together. The atmosphere was extremely loud, making it hard to hear each other and enjoy the experience.
Helia H — Google review
We were excited by the idea of all you can eat sushi, and self ordering, but I started having an allergic reaction and asked if there was MSG in the food. I was informed it is in everything. We did not enjoy the food that much, or the extremely dark, cold decor. The robot was cute. They are all doing their best and polite but there is no warmth, feeling or ceremony which is what sushi is supposed to be all about.

This is a great restaurant to come to eat or enjoy your time with your friends/family. I have been here countless times and have tried both the menu and the all-included options and I find the food to be very tasty and the price absolutely reasonable. There are a lot of options and cute cat robots serving food, and all the waiters were always friendly and nice. I’ve never left this place unsatisfied. My favourite things to order here is beef teriyaki and fried spicy California roll.

I really love the food here. I always enjoy and am excited to dine at this restaurant. The only problem I have is that it would be nice to mark the food that was sent so you know how many you have left. What truly stands out at Tawa Grill is the consistency in the quality of the food. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning customer, you can expect the same delicious flavors each time. Their Chicken Tandoori is by far the highlight of the menu. It’s a crowd favorite, and once you try it, you’ll understand why. Tender, perfectly spiced, and grilled to perfection, it captures the essence of traditional Indian cuisine. Along with this, the restaurant offers a wide array of dishes that showcase the richness of Indian flavors, but the Chicken Tandoori is a must-try for any first-timer. One of the greatest Indian restaurants in Halifax!! 1. Chicken is perfectly cooked, inside juicy and tender. 2. Curry also is great!! Nice flavor and good balance of seasoning. 3. Portion size is great so the price is very reasonable. There is a half size option for the majority of dishes. Half size is more than enough. 4. The vibe of this restaurant such as interior or light is not attractive but you will be satisfied with food. Thanks chef!

This is a hidden gem in Dartmouth. My goto place for sushi and they also have options available for Ramen. Packing for takeout is also amazing. I would highly recommend their Tom Yum soup , Ramen and maki Salmon combo !! Place is always too busy and crammed up, don’t expect great service especially during the weekends.

Used to be my favourite spot for sushi a couple of years ago, but unfortunately the quality of service has decreased. Perhaps they are understaffed, but it seemed difficult to get water refills and to have dishes cleared away from the table. However the quality of food still remains good for my taste buds! Definitely missing the lunchtime ayce price but am still willing to spend some more to eat quality food.

When I crave sushi in Dartmouth, this is the place to go! It’s a bit pricey, but worth every morsel. Everything is fresh, the portions are generous and the staff quick and kind. I get serious tuna fish cravings, and theirs is a good selection. The plating is as beautiful as the taste is satisfying. They do get busy on weekends though, so if you want to enjoy peace and quiet, hit them up weekdays. Nite that while the are is nice, parking is hit and miss- I usually park a few blocks away and walk.

My wife and I order (through Skip) from Jukai almost every week, so we know they offer good sushi for a good price. Unfortunately today, the sushi had a staple (piece of metal) in the salmon lover combo. Thankfully I was able to catch before eating it, I don’t know what could have happened if I had eaten it… I gave them a call and the manager was very kind and helpful, she instantly apologized for it. I am writing this review not to shame the restaurant, but so that doesn’t happen again to me or to someone else. I will take a break from ordering from them.

We stumbled upon this place with the family by accident. The staff, although very busy, were friendly and helped us choose our order. Everything was prepared super quickly. The sushi was delicious, and the prices were quite reasonable! Overall, we were very satisfied. It was a bit hot inside, but the tasty sushi made up for any minor issues. Parking was hard to find, but who expects easy parking downtown? \:D Definitely 5 stars!

We LOVE this spot. My fave sushi in HRM. Free and paid parking on the street. Sometimes a wait for service, but just remember to click a service request on the tablet ... they will get to you eventually. Weekends you can indulge in all you can eat buffet. Yum!

I've enjoyed the takeout from Jukai in the past, but I was really disappointed when my husband and I decided to dine in the other night. The table and dishes were not clean, and the wasabi and ginger had been left out. The service was friendly and quick, which might have made up for it, but I was horrified to find a drill bit/screwdriver head in my food when I opened my leftovers the next day. I reached out to Jukai through their website contact form, but they have not gotten back to me. I don't think I will be returning, or recommending it to anyone else

We have been there many times, and it’s DELICIOUS!!! Our favorite dishes are seafood miso soup, princess roll, ocean roll, deep fried mini kamikadze roll:) Also, their sashimi are always nice a fresh! But the best thing they have is all you can eat on Fri, Sat, and Sun😍 Please try their mango pudding, it’s awesome!

Daryâ is a new addition to the Halifax waterfront dining scene, offering a luxurious Middle Eastern dining experience. The restaurant's name, which means 'sea' in Persian, reflects its diverse cuisine from Turkey, Greece, Iran, and Lebanon. The interior is elegantly decorated in gold and teal tones, creating a cozy yet upscale ambiance.
Best Meal of the Trip – Quality Over Quantity Done Right Our brunch at Daryâ was hands-down the best meal of our trip so far. For $35, the brunch buffet is an absolute steal considering the quality of food and the overall experience. While the selection isn’t massive, everything they offer is executed flawlessly—and honestly, you don’t need 50 options when each dish is this good. The potato latkes were a standout—crispy, flavourful, and probably the best we’ve ever had. We also treated ourselves to the 12-for-$42 Mimosa Tree, and it was such a fun and tasty addition to the meal. The variety of flavours was impressive, with Cranberry Vanilla, Guava, and Pistachio Pear being the unexpected stars of the lineup. From the elegant atmosphere to the impeccable food and drinks, this place nails brunch. Highly recommend if you’re in Halifax and want something elevated without being stuffy.

What an absolutely fantabulous experience at Darya Restaurant! Located right on the Halifax waterfront, this place has amazing vibes — beautifully lit, stylish décor, and the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. Truly the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The food was nothing short of outstanding. We ordered the Wild Garlic Spanakopita (v)(nf), Babaganoush, Pita Bread, and Chicken Shawarma. Every dish was packed with authentic flavor — the chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned, the babaganoush was smoky and delicious, and the hummus was rich and full of sesame flavor, pairing beautifully with the warm pita bread. Every bite was pure satisfaction. What made the experience even more special was the service. The General Manager, Abby shared insights about their dishes, which made us appreciate the food even more. And our server, Kelly, was the cherry on top — warm, attentive, and full of genuine hospitality. His gestures and service elevated the whole evening. This restaurant deserves to be a landmark in Halifax. It’s not just dining; it’s an experience filled with great food, atmosphere, and people. Highly recommended — we absolutely loved it!

What a pleasant surprise. The food we had was very good. The service was lacking. I'm giving the restaurant a 5 star based on the food because I believe that it's hard for any of the waterfront restaurants to maintain knowledgeable servers. They're understaffed everywhere. Our server was really nice. They just hadn't learned the art of waiting tables(knowledge and speed). The Daryâ is very reasonably priced, considering its prime location on the Halifax waterfront. There are many gluten-free options. Normally, I can only find 1 or 2 shareable menu options that are attractive. I was able to choose 4. I was very surprised. I was really an amazing menu. Something for everyone who wants Mediterranean food. Will return! Highly recommend!

This was my first time dining at Darya, and unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning. To start with the positives, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Those aspects definitely contributed to me rating this 3 stars instead of lower. That said, I was really surprised by the portion sizes. We ordered three different protein dishes, each priced between $22–$24, and each came with just a single skewer with no sides included. At that price point, I expected more generous servings and a side. We had to order rice separately. One major disappointment was the beef skewer. As you can see in the photo, I left half of it uneaten, not because I was full, but because the meat was extremely tough and undercooked. It was difficult to chew and not enjoyable. The beet salad was another letdown. The cabbage was overwhelmingly bitter and there were only a couple of small beet pieces. The flavour balance was off, and it just didn’t work for me. Overall, while I appreciated the service and ambiance, the food missed the mark.

Came here for a dinner reservation with my friend after our conference. It was chilly outside so their patio wasn't open and we were seated inside. I didn't love our spot, we were at a table for 2 on the other side of a round high top booth, and felt squished. I asked for a different spot because I didn't get a view of the water, but they told us they didn't't have anything else which sucked (even though there was an empty 2 seater behind us that had a better water view). Aside from that, the FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE. 🤤 I read some of the negative reviews and we didn't experience any of that, I also came for dinner not brunch so only tried the following things which we loved: - house made bread $5 - get two of these!! - charcoal roasted eggplant dip - $11 - shrimp saganaki - $20 - shawarma spiced octopus - $36 This is what we ordered for 2 and after tax and tip it came out to $102 (since we didn't get any alcohol). Chef is apparently Romanian and the flavours are bursting with each bite. 😍 A must visit for these dishes. Tip: if you're like us and love the sauces/make sure you clean your plates let the server know you're still working on your plate so they don't come grab the dip/plate before you're done. That's how good the flavours were in these dishes - you almost wanted to lick the plate clean 😄

Hands down one of the best restaraunts in all of Halifax. Being able to sit directly on the water, enjoying this delicious food, you could not ask for much more. Everything was cooked to perfection, and not a single dish was a miss from the six that we enjoyed. If you enjoy Mediterranean food, I would highly recommend checking this restaurant out, you will not be dissapointed!
Connor P — Google review
The food was flavorful and the atmosphere was great. However, the main dishes didn’t come with any sides (no rice, no pita) which wasn’t mentioned on the menu nor mentioned by our server. When we wanted to order some, our server never checked back on us, making it difficult to ask for additions. The lack of attentiveness was disappointing, especially since the meal felt incomplete without sides to complement the mains.
Larry — Google review
I was really excited to go there for my birthday but honestly was rather disappointed. The menu was very small and there was not much to pick from. I’d say the accent was on the alcohol drinks. The food was genuinely mid. A cuisine where the brightness of spices and the hotness of food are so important, the food in Daryâ is nothing like it. To me, this place is not worth its price or popularity. My sister Daria (not Daryâ) was not really impressed either.

I ordered tikki chaat on sunday night and i got pebble in it. I thought i need to talk with them before giving any review. But the owner and a employee were rude . They don’t know how to talk with the customer. I find same review almost a year ago, someone gave them review about this but they don’t care and repeat that same thing. So I recommend to all of you please avoid their dishes that have pebbles( specifically chickpeas).

Exceptional Dining Experience at Passage to India, Halifax Rating: 5/5 Stars During my recent visit to Halifax from Alberta, I had the pleasure of dining at Passage to India, and it was a truly fantastic experience. As a Punjabi, I was pleasantly surprised to find authentic and delicious Indian cuisine, reminiscent of home. Our server, Chandan, was exceptional in her hospitality and service. She was polite, attentive, and ensured our needs were met with a warm smile. Her professionalism and dedication to providing excellent service deserve recognition, and I strongly recommend considering her for a promotion. The culinary team, led by the talented chef, deserves equal praise for crafting dishes that were both flavorful and authentic. The presentation, quality, and portion sizes were all impressive. Passage to India has earned a loyal customer in me, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving Indian cuisine in Halifax. The exceptional service, combined with the outstanding food, makes this establishment a must-visit. Well done, Passage to India, and keep up the fantastic work!

Naan’s are very very good. Veg biryani is not up to the mark. And the curry’s are also good. The staff are really polite and customer oriented. Noticed an issue that the bottles they provide to drink water are not hygienic. There is algae formed on the neck of the bottles.

Well, i always order the same meal so many time while dine in. it’s always absolutely perfect. But this was the third time i have ordered Chole bhature online. i dont know why they were keep sending puffed bread so thick. while dine in taste is fresh different and bread is good according to its portion. but the order i received yesterday OMG the bread was terrible it was so and so thick, like you can make four breads with that flour they have used yesterday while making my order. i was trying to click the picture of it but i couldn’t or wanted to come back to return this but later best decision to through that out. Never gonna order again. Thank you.

Not a regular complainer for food!! This is what I got ordering Schezwan Chicken Fried rice. 2 dollar size carrots and bouquet size cauli flowers with Basmati Rice mixed with some sea smelled curry. Not even sauted properly.Cauli flower was mid-stale. Called them. Told them this is what I got from ordered. They told me Schezwan fried rice is prepared 'different' and this is how it is!

The all you can hot pot restaurant in Spring Fine asian fusion cuisine is a great place to go for a fun day out with friends. The food is delicious and there are plenty of options to choose from. The view from the window is also really beautiful.
Good hot pot place that’s all you can eat. Good selection at a very reasonable price, and the soup was authentic. I got the spicy Mala & Mushroom soups. It was my boyfriend’s first time having hotpot, and he loved it too. We’ll certainly be back!

*** Updated review *** Went to wait for dining in at 11 am but spent 20 minutes at the door since restaurant was not open on time. There were staffs in side but no communication. So, i left with bad feeling. I had pork bone soup and spicy soup which is good combination on our dining table. Almost meats were frozen but those are kept in good quality and also good taste. The highlight is the variety of dipping sauce that rarely found from another hot pot restaurant like Happy Veal that they will charge you few dollars. But here is all-you-can-eat. Good job!!!

Very unique experience! My entire plate was filled with foods I had never tried before. Left feeling A TON better than the traditional greasy old Chinese buffet of North America. Super healthy seafoods and vegetables, and so different way of dining out buffet style! Young woman who served us was very kind and gave us great service.

This restaurant is great! We came from the valley to try hotpot and we weren’t disappointed. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, and kept us from spending more than we had to (we didn’t order enough meat to make getting the premium option worth it). The selection was good, and the vegetables were very fresh. I will definitely be back, I have no idea how this place isn’t way more popular!

My solo dining experience at In Spring Chinese Buffet in Halifax reached new heights with their unique hot pot offering. The interactive buffet allows patrons to cook their raw ingredients, and my choice of the tomyam broth added an extra layer of flavor excitement to the meal. The tomyam broth proved to be a stellar selection, infusing my hot pot with a zesty and aromatic kick. The array of raw ingredients provided a canvas for my culinary creativity, and the DIY hot pot concept added an engaging element to the dining experience. The staff's assistance and guidance in navigating the hot pot setup were commendable, ensuring even solo diners like myself could fully enjoy the process. The vibrant and bustling atmosphere, coupled with the personalized touch of cooking my own hot pot, made for a truly memorable evening. In Spring Chinese Buffet's hot pot experience is a must-try for those seeking a hands-on and flavorful adventure. The tomyam broth, in particular, elevated the meal to a delightful crescendo of taste. Whether you're a solo diner or with company, this hot pot extravaganza is a standout feature that sets In Spring apart in the culinary scene of Halifax.

We've been coming here for years and we've never been disappointed! Always clean and always great service! The spicy butter broth is so good if you can handle the heat and the ice jelly has been a favorite of mine and my girlfriend's. Definately can be a little overwhelming when you first eat here since it can be different from what a lot of local food is like but once you know what your doing it's super relaxing. Staff are super great at helping you figure it out too !

Wow Hot Pot is a newly opened restaurant located on Spring Garden Road, offering a unique dining experience where customers can cook their own meal in flavorful hot pot broth. The lunchtime all-you-can-eat deal provides an abundance of authentic Chinese hot pot ingredients for a single price. Upon arrival, diners are given a menu to select their desired items and quantities, which are then brought to the table by servers.
First time at a hot pot place. Our server explained everything well and the food was great! Will go back for sure. Pick a broth and then order some soup fillings to cook. It's a lot tastier than expected and the leek sauce was amazing. I love spicy foods and got the original spicy broth and it was a little too hot for me. Still enjoyed it but it was intense!
Rikki — Google review
They give you a menu on which you have to tick mark what you want with the quantity you want, and the server will bring it to your table about 10 mins later (depending on how busy it is). We went there for lunch on Sunday and there were about 2-4 tables of guests and 1 server. So the service was ok. But we prefer the hot pot buffets where we walk up to stations and serve our self because it was abit hard to get a hold of the serving staff in this big restaurant. Also they had individual pots on individual stoves so its great for a group who don't like the big communal pot for the whole table. Highly recommend the beef bone broth - such a rich marrow flavor - we liked it so much that we asked the waiter if we could take the left over broth home (just broth, nothing else lol). Loved the mango icecream too! It costed us $23.99 per head excl tax (unlimited pop included)
Jose G — Google review
The food is good for a buffet. It is and all you can eat restaurant and you have a lot of options there. You don't have choices on the drinks tho and the mood/decoration inside need a little revamp.
Alaa B — Google review
Went there last night for dinner and had very poor service. When we requested additional food it was ignored. We waited for 45minutes for the food refill and nothing. The Sichuan spicy broth was rather good, but the portion sizes were tiny, we were shorted spring rolls and dumplings.
Melted S — Google review
Its great. You pick a broth then you can order from two different menu. All you can eat but you only have 2 hours. It was a bit busy and they didnt get everything we needed for our broth. Like we wanted 4 eggs and they gave us 2. We were 4 at 1 table so we had to wait. A while before getting our orders.

Wow hot pot is a fantastic addition to the culinary options in Halifax. I love taking friends and family here! The food is fantastic. The young staff are fun, attentive and refreshing. The whole place gives me hope for this town. Here's to the delicious future of Halifax!!
Sharon T — Google review
The food was mildly disappointing, though not awful. The service was terrible. At one point we went for 30 minutes without seeing the server at all. The dishes all had streaks and spots and just didn't seem clean. It was also pretty expensive. I wouldn't have minded the cost if the food and service was good, but in this case it just wasn't worth it.
Jennifer L — Google review
Full disclosure that maybe I just don't like hot pot in general (so take my criticism with a grain of salt). Basically it's just boiled meat, bland vegetables, and some very mediocre/greasy dumplings + spring rolls. If that sounds like your cup of tea then by all means the staff were great and you should make up your own mind. However, the atmosphere needs some work and I'll second the other reviewer's warning about the staff and allergies, they're at best, mildly concerned with cross contamination.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Mcjolly Filipino Fast Food Chain! This hidden gem offers crispy, golden fried chicken and mouthwatering chicken burgers that come with sides like french fries, rice, and coleslaw—all at an affordable price. While some dishes may not live up to the hype, many patrons rave about the consistent quality of their fried chicken and friendly service.
This is single-handedly the BEST spicy fried chicken and fried chicken burger in all of Canada. I mean that with my heart and chest and i will rest on that hill forever. Much love doing gods work. Great price for the food and super student friendly price as well.
Waqar I — Google review
Decent fried chicken restaurant. Tried the spicy 2 piece (drum and thigh) with fries and gravy. The spicy seasoning was good, lightly coated without removing the crispy skin. The fries remind me of Costco fries, the gravy was on the lighter side, possibly a chicken gravy.
Jeff L — Google review
I had my first time trying Mcjolly and honestly I wasn't impressed. There service was friendly but the food was either mid or not bad. The spaghetti's flavour is really hard to describe but I didn't care for it. The rice was bland, plain, and unseasoned, and the chicken was well cooked but that's about all I can say that's positive. Otherwise it had no real flavour, no spice, no seasoning. The gravy also had a really strange flavour that's hard to describe. It was really mild and needed salt. But I don't think salting the gravy would have done much to help the flavour. Additionally when I went to use the washroom there was no toilet paper, meaning the staff hadn't gone to check the washrooms in a while for two full rolls of toilet paper to run out. And given how empty the place was when I visited I suspect it had been a long while. All in all, don't bother coming here. Go to literally any other fried chicken place you're likely to have a better experience.
Alex P — Google review
Such good food, the fried chicken was amazing and so crispy and we will definitely be back here again. The price is quite cheap for what you get, the portions are quite big.
Justin B — Google review
Just a heads up if you’re planning to get the unlimited seafood boil you’re not allowed to share it with anyone. They were very clear that if they catch you sharing, they’ll charge you extra. It felt a bit strict and unusual, so make sure you’re ready to finish it all by yourself. The rule kind of took away from the experience, so be careful!
Nabi Y — Google review
Went hearing all the good reviews . Fried chicken was ok , fries were super good and spagetti was mid at most. I'd say it's good but not sure of all the hype this gets. And didn't find any all you can eat fries or great student prices as mentioned in other reviews. Overall, it's a good place, bit unnoticeable from outside ,but didn't find anything extraordinary.

Our go to place for the best Filipino fried chicken. Quality is consistent and the service is warm and friendly. When we went there was only one man on duty. The Prince George Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia offers stylish rooms and upscale amenities including an on-site restaurant, meeting rooms, and a pool. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of other hotels in the area. One standout feature is the availability of two different buffet options at their restaurant. Additionally, the hotel is pet-friendly and provides amenities for four-legged guests, making it a welcoming choice for travelers with pets.
Granted the hotel was very busy when we went. However the rooms were very clean and spacious. The pool was warm, clean and lovely. The sauna was clean and nicely done. The hot tub well maintained. Location was excellent, and only a short walk to great local sites. The breakfast buffet was good value for the cost. The parking was easy. Staff was approachable and eager to help.

My husband, dog and I stayed here for our first time in Halifax. This hotel is absolutely wonderful. The staff are insanely professional and polite and the atmosphere is lovely. Patrick, who was phenomenal, checked us in and gave us a complimentary upgrade and a present for our dog (she was thrilled). Our room was clean and the view was great. We were also given two complimentary breakfast buffet cards—and that was delicious. We LOVED our stay and cannot wait to come back!

What truly sets it apart is the exceptional service and professionalism of the staff. Every team member is remarkably courteous, attentive, and communicates with genuine warmth and clarity. It’s evident that they go above and beyond to ensure every guest has a memorable and seamless stay. The rooms are immaculate, generously spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with all the modern amenities one could need. From start to finish, my stay was nothing short of outstanding.

My wife and I stayed at Prince George Hotel for 4 nights during our trip to Halifax and absolutely loved the hotel! The room we reserved looked exactly like the photos online. The hotel was extremely clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. I requested for a microwave because I needed to use hot compress on my eyelids daily to treat dry eyes, and they provided one without extra cost, which I really appreciated! We were especially impressed by the made-to-order cookies in their in-room food menu. We ordered some cookies, which were made from scratch and delivered to us still warm. The location of the hotel was extremely convenient as well, just steps away from the citadel and all the great restaurants. We will definitely be choosing Prince George Hotel when we visit Halifax again.

Excellent hotel. Great staff. Nice room, more like a suite. Maid service even left a written "thank you" for each daily tip. Shower was big enough for a small dance party. Jetted tub was huge, as well. Valet was quick and easy. Morning breakfast buffet, although repetitive, was very good.

My wife and I arrived at the hotel late evening following our flight from the U.K. and were warmly welcomed, and to our delight, upgraded to a suite with complementary breakfast for our two night stay. The hotel is well appointed and spotlessly clean and all the staff we encountered were polite, professional and friendly. There is secure parking beneath the hotel. The hotel is also ideally situated for easy walking to the waterfront bars and restaurants. Highly recommend. 👌🏻

This is a great hotel. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was attractive, well-equipped, and spotless. The hotel had two small but important features that distinguish caring hotels from indifferent ones: the bathroom had a nightlight, so you don't have to blind yourself when you get up in the night, and the room had plenty of conveniently placed USB outlets for charging devices. The hotel is in a great location in downtown Halifax. I'd certainly stay there again.
Phil C — Google review
I had an impressive stay at the Prince George Hotel. My executive suite was very spacious, relatively updated, had a great spa-like bathroom and was very clean. The suite views were also impressive, considering that I was only on the 4th floor. The hotel's front desk team were friendly, professional and attentive, Paige was particularly friendly and helpful with my stay. The hotel is quint yet charming, has all the conveniences that one would want with a great central location to everything within easy walking distance...so many great restaurants and amazing cafes nearby! Breakfast was also impressive, fresh and had a bountiful selection. Service was also excellent and attentive. The bar and outdoor terrace was also nice, great drinks and snacks (service was friendly yet pretty slow). Some of the lobby furniture needs updating, elevators were slow, pool and hallways really needs updating, as they were showing their age (room hallways — are badly dated and smelled musty). The hotel also really needs to add a doorman (especially during busy seasons), and key access to the room floors for guests privacy/security! The hotel also backs onto a very busy "party" street, so be sure to know that rooms facing that side of the hotel can get pretty loud with street / pedestrian noises late into the night. Otherwise, I had a terrific, pretty much flawless stay that exceeded my expectations.

We ordered Lamb Burgers (5 of them). They arrived relatively quickly but they were cold - all 5 of them. Looks like they were pre-cooked. Also, avoid the poutine, extremely salty.
Patricia L — Google review
Wow, I had a killer burger here. My friends and I randomly picked this place and were not disappointed. While eating we talked about our favourite desserts, which included milkshakes. Our waitress overheard and mentioned they had some for dessert, it really made our day. :)

Great restaurant that has a long track record of great food and service! Very extensive and great menu. Wonderful friendly staff. Has a real family vibe! I especially enjoy the variety of Eggs Benedict. Great breakfast specials and an all you can eat buffet for brunch on the weekend.
David M — Google review
Food is good. Portions are small for the price. The actual restaurant is quite large so there's never a worry about finding a place to sit and the service is always good!

At 902 Restaurant & Catering, culinary artistry meets the warmth of Mediterranean hospitality. This charming eatery invites you to embark on a delightful gastronomic journey, where locally sourced ingredients come together to create innovative dishes that celebrate authentic Middle Eastern flavors. The inviting atmosphere is filled with the enticing aroma of freshly baked bread and the joyful sounds of diners enjoying their meals. Located in downtown Halifax, 902 Restaurant & Catering is a haven for those seeking genuine Middle Eastern cuisine.
While I dined in at this restaurant, this seems like a popular take-out spot. They have a few food delivery services based on their door. The food and atmosphere were great. Also, the pricing on food and food portions was really good for a downtown restaurant - it is very close to Spring Garden Road. I will probably come back again soon.

When I entered the restaurant yesterday, I was greeted by the server with the biggest smile on her face. She recommended me lamb leg on rice and I just loved it. It was my first time trying Syrian food, and I found it extremely delectable. I’m visiting it again today and this time I have ordered Syrian kebab, just so yummy and I can guarantee that this place is one of the best ones in Halifax. Would be visiting it every time I come to Halifax.
Ali S — Google review
If you’re craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, 902 Restaurants & catering is a must-visit spot in Halifax downtown,I recently had the chance to try their Lamb Mandi, and to be honest, it was absolutely outstanding. The lamb was incredibly juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked — every bite melted in my mouth. The rice was fragrant, flavorful, and paired beautifully with the meat, capturing the true essence of traditional Middle Eastern flavors. It’s one of the most satisfying mandi dishes I’ve had in a long time. After the main course, I tried their sweet Kunafa, and I have to say — it was hands down the best Kunafa I’ve tasted in Nova Scotia so far. The balance of sweetness, creaminess, and that perfect crispy texture made it a delightful end to the meal. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. They were attentive and ensured everything was to our satisfaction throughout the meal. One small note: parking can be a bit tricky directly in front of the restaurant. However, there is a paid parking building just across the street, which makes it manageable if you’re driving. Overall, 902 Restaurants delivers an excellent culinary experience with authentic dishes, great service, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore true Middle Eastern flavors — especially the Lamb Mandi and Kunafa!

We were visiting Halifax and after walking around the citadel, we wanted a proper lunch, not just sandwiches or something fried. I found 902 on Google Maps, trusted the reviews, and didn't regret it! The food was very good (I ordered the Syrian Kebab and my wife ordered the Lamb Kofta Kebab), very fresh and super tasty. The portion sizes are very generous and we could hardly finish (what a sad problem, right?). Our host was friendly from start to finish, always concerned with serving us well. Definitely a 10/10.
Felipe G — Google review
Had shawarma platter and lamb shank mandi as takeout. I got the food to new Brunswick the packaging of the food was 10 on 10. The quality and quantity of the food is quite good. I have tried many restaurants in all atlantic provinces can tell this was by far the best one. Thank you 902 for serving good food.
Faizal P — Google review
The food was delicious. Prices were perfectly good. The guy there welcomed us with a smile

The roasted lamb shank dinner and lamb kofta kebab dinner were both so delicious 😋 The amount of food is very generous and the price is totally reasonable. Very friendly and great service!
Celina — Google review
The food was truly very very tasty and the Syrian shawarma and meze plate were a little too much food for my wife and I which was a good problem to have. My wife liked how everything was finger food sized. This is new favorite shawarma place.

Kiyoto Sushi All You Can Eat is a delightful destination for sushi lovers, offering an impressive array of dishes and desserts that set it apart from other establishments. My recent visit on a bustling Friday night revealed the restaurant's commitment to freshness; everything tasted light and delicious. Although parking can be tricky due to its busy location, the experience was worth it.
This is one of the best all you can eat sushi places. This was our first time trying on a Friday night. They cleaned our table and brought us an IPAD. They had the biggest selections of food and way more desserts than other places. You may have to park at the parking lot beside it because there’s no parking. Really busy area. Everything was fresh and didn’t taste too heavy. They forgot about us for 15 minutes at the end. We had our dishes stacked to the side but I understand it was busy and we weren’t in a rush.
Sarah — Google review
There are plenty of all-you-can-eat sushi spots in Halifax, and while I haven’t tried them all, this one is definitely a standout. The variety is impressive, and everything is made fresh to order. While the service was a little on the slow side, the quality more than made up for it. Definitely worth checking out for any sushi lover.
De M — Google review
According to the restaurant's policy, each adult pays $35 and can order as much as they want within a 2-hour time frame. I booked a table for 5 people so that my girlfriend could celebrate her birthday there with her friends. The reservation was for 5:30 pm. Two out of the five girls arrived on time, and they only started using the tablet to place orders after 6 pm. The other three arrived closer to 6:30 pm. Everyone paid the required $35, but at 7:45 pm, the waiter began asking them to leave, stating that they had been there for more than 2 hours and would need to pay another $35 per person if they wanted to continue dining. The girls were left hungry because they weren’t even allowed to order dessert! Such rules should be clearly communicated over the phone when a customer makes a reservation. The birthday mood was completely ruined. We will never visit this place again and would not recommend it to our friends!
VADYM — Google review
I’ve heard great things about Kiyoto and was excited to give it a try. I was really impressed, it’s definitely one of the top contenders for all you can eat sushi. Everything came out hot, fresh, and tasted amazing. My only note would be that sometimes the sushi rolls were a bit too big for my liking, which made them filling and difficult to eat. Overall, I’d definitely go back!
Haya H — Google review
I recently celebrated my birthday here and I'm so glad I did! We did the all you can eat menu. The food was on point and delicious! The service was so fast! Very impressed and would recommend to my friends and family. We will be back!

Exceptional quality all around. The sushi was fresh and well-balanced, with perfectly prepared rice and premium ingredients. The intimate, cozy setting made for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.
Eric B — Google review
The place is cozy. The food is very good. The price and quality is great too. My only complaint is that I was asked to sit whenever I wanted, but while eating I was asked to move to another table. The staff apologized and was very friendly though.
Andrés E — Google review
I’m no sushi connoisseur so take take with a grain of salt, but definitely a fun place to get all you can eat! Huge variety of items including lots of sushi but also lots of appetizers and desserts. If it’s busy it might take a while to get some items

Pizza Delight offers an extensive menu, making it difficult to decide what to eat. However, for only $10.99, you can enjoy their all-you-can-eat Lunch Buffet featuring a variety of options such as pizza, pasta, and salad. Customers often visit this place and have a great time due to the friendly staff and the opportunity to make their own bread in the oven. The buffet is highly praised for its delicious offerings while customers also appreciate the super-friendly staff.
I bring people here all the time and I've always had a good time. staff are nice and I like the make own bread oven.
Birdin S — Google review
I used to love eating here, but the disconnect between Pizza Delight and the actual franchises is quite frustrating. Twice after placing an order online the actual location that the order was placed never came. After calling for each time, they pretty much told us delivery was done for the night. No apology or anything, such a sad turn of events.
Austen B — Google review
If you're craving Pizza Delight please consider this before you call to request delivery as the "courier company" (On The Way Dispatch registered to one Andrea Pitre). Based on our experience today with this person, she is incredibly belligerent and ignorant and should not be working anywhere where she has to deal with the public (aka *the customer*). She went to the wrong address- Pizza Delight's mistake or hers, certainly not ours (as she demanded "DON'T YOU EVEN KNOW YOUR OWN ADDRESS???" in a most disrespectful and ignorant (yes ignorant, see a pattern here yet?) manner. The correct address was given when the order was placed... After she stood at the wrong door for a few minutes (either PD got the address wrong or she wasn't smart enough to figure out where she was supposed to deliver, either or)-- really who in customer service would make such an ignorant statement to a customer because they WENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS?) Class act this Andrea person... Ignorant all the way around. Way to go Pizza Delight, you expect a standard of competence and pleasant service from your staff yet you contract this substandard woman and her "company" to treat your customers like garbage- disgusting.
Dawna — Google review
Have a sign up for a $5 expired deal. My step son went in and asked for the $5 deal. They only told him once he asked about the crazy bill did they tell him that the deal had expired. Threatened to call the cops if he didn't pay full price.
Pascal P — Google review
Don't even bother ordering online. They will say your order is completed and its arrival time, but it will never come. I called and asked about it, they said they had shut down delivery for the night, and they didn't even call the number I left on the site to let me know. I found out about this because I called them an hour after my food was supposed to have arrived. DO NOT GET DELIVERY HERE.
