Diner
Breakfast restaurant
Ardmore Tea Room is a classic diner that has been serving traditional comfort dishes, teas, and coffee since 1958. Despite its name, it offers more than just tea and sandwiches. The menu features hefty breakfast items like the Lumberjack Plate and shareable options such as the vegetable and egg breakfast burrito. With multiple locations in Halifax, it's known for its all-day breakfast options, hot turkey sandwiches, burgers, and nightly specials.
A cozy little restaurant with great meals and decent prices. The service was super friendly. We ordered the lumberjack and burrito breakfast. The coffee refills were generous.

Love this place! Family friendly, Small little hole in the wall type place. A diner style type of breakfast. Usually a small lineup to get in, very centrally located, foods yummy and the price is great, and portions are decent. Definitely isn't anything fancy, but has been a staple in the neighbourhood for years and is well known to locals and many of the staff have been there for as long as I can remember. Inside definitely is a bit rundown and prob could use some updates, but that's part of its charm and also prob how they can afford to keep prices low. I do find their Vanilla milkshake has a great consistency, but lacks flavour/ is a bit bland. My son loved the Steak and eggs and I thoroughly enjoyed the Jack'd Breakfast poutine. I have also previously had their French Toast and Eggs Benedict which I also enjoy.
Lisa T — Google review
First time at Ardmore and it was exactly as advertised! Wonderful diner-style breakfast & brunch! Our server Kelly was excellent, very friendly, and efficient! Our food was great, and the milkshake was phenomenal! The wait was a bit long to get a table, but I was glad I tried it! Would definitely return
Adam D — Google review
Cute spot! Prices are incredible. I had the veggie poutine and it was ok. The hollandaise was bland and my poached soft eggs were way under done for my liking but that could be a personal preference. Others had the the blueberry pancakes and loved them. Was a line up but didn’t take long. Service is pleasant and efficient. Would go back to try something else.
P C — Google review
I have been here several times now and every time never disappoints. I had the lumberjack breakfast and my daughter had the breakfast poutine. Both were very delicious. I'm picky with my eggs and they made them actually how I wanted them. Very pleasant server and the coffee is the best. You cannot beat the prices. I will definitely be back.
Nadia P — Google review
The waffles are SO GOOD!!! HIGHLY recommend! Service is super friendly, and the prices are great! There can be a bit of a line on Sundays, but that’s to be expected given the size of the diner.
K W — Google review
The Ardmore Tea Room is a must for anyone in Halifax with tastebuds! The atmosphere has its own unique charm, the food is fresh, fast and delicious, and the price will make you feel like they forget something on your bill. I started coming here in the early 80’s (yes I’m that old) and I will always make it a must stop when visiting Halifax. It’s well worth the wait for a table, and never leave without enjoying a piece of their coconut cream pie!!
Robert A — Google review
Came here to see what the hype was about because every time I drive by there’s a huge line lining the block. Me and my friend got there bright and early and was not yet a line, got seated very quickly. Lots of menu options for both breakfast and lunch. We got served very quickly. The food was a very generous portion and the prices were great. I ended up getting two large pieces of French toast, bacon, hash browns, and a large glass of orange juice for 15$. Definitely worth the hype, I will be going back and would like to try out there lunch menu

Nestled in the vibrant North End of Halifax, Almonak is a delightful spot that elevates traditional breakfast and lunch favorites. This charming venue features a relaxed atmosphere with an inviting patio, perfect for enjoying their extensive brunch menu. From the iconic eggs Benedict to indulgent fried chicken French toast, every dish is crafted from scratch using top-notch ingredients.
A lively spot for brunch. They were very accommodating in seating us as a walk-in, despite being very busy at the time. Food was delicious, and there were specials on offer as well. The only slight disappointment was that the $6 add-on of roasted potatoes was dry and bland.
Tri C — Google review
We were looking for a spot with a dog-friendly patio for brunch, and we’re so glad we picked this place! The food and coffee were both great — I just wish the portions were a bit bigger.
Amir S — Google review
Found the Almonak as we were going to be in Halifax for the day. Greeted by the coolest “linebacker” ever! Then proceeded with the most fun waiter ever! The meal was spectacular. I don’t say that lightly either. We’ve been on the road for two months (across the US, toured Newfoundland for a month, and just now heading back home to California) and have stopped for breakfast/brunch countless times and this was easily #1. I ordered the Gouda, Bacon, Caramelized Onion Eggs Benedict that came with roasted potatoes and a green salad - YUM! I can’t say enough about this contemporary and innovative cafe, so good. My only tiny issue is that they need some noise dampening medium/fabric to quiet it a bit. I’d return in a heartbeat though if it were closer to California!
BBT T — Google review
Nice place to grab some brunch. The staff were helpful in choosing dishes to suit a few allergies amongst our party. The food was served hot and portions were decent
Brent M — Google review
My wife and I are here for the first time today and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and vibrant! I got the classic breakfast which was perfect & my wife got the GF classic egg’s Benedict! Both meals came out incredibly fast and was really warm and delicious! They have so many dietary options and is a must-try in the HRM!

Great food! We went at 10:30am on a Sunday and luckily we had a reservation because this is a popular spot! We will be back!
Amir N — Google review
I came here to work one morning and it was such a lovely spot. The service was great, the food was good, and the coffee was absolutely delicious! A wonderful place to relax or get a bit of work done.
Sonia D — Google review
Good food and great coffee, a lil pricey. We were a big table and they waited until after we ordered a second cup of coffee to tell us that we need to leave since we exceeded the 75 min on the table. I've been to some resturaunts where its dine and go vibes from how popular and busy they are. But they wait until youre done eating and their service is super fast so you get the hint. I just felt annoyed that they waited until after the 2nd cup of coffee was ordered and served to tell us that we need to leave. My sister had no time to drink it, it was super awkward. Then we had to reach out to staff for a to go cup, I wasnt sure if they expected she would chug it or just leave it untouched. But besides that hiccup in service. The food and coffee were great thats why we asked for seconds.

Steve-O-Reno's Cappuccino is a popular coffeehouse located in Halifax, known for its delicious coffee and breakfast/brunch options. The cafe offers a variety of house-baked pastries, sandwiches, and customizable breakfast plates. It's a small and vibrant spot with a cheery atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a cappuccino or frothy beverage along with baked goods.
We stopped in for breakfast. Man, what a place! A quaint, little, community spot where they know your name. We walked in and people sitting, having breakfast smiled at us. They had a simple menu beautifully drawn on a blackboard; fantastic and very healthy options where no one could go wrong. While we were ordering two of the best cappuccinos we ever had, someone accidentally dropped their coffee and the whole place turned to look at what happened. The owners put the man at ease by name and everybody got the sense that they really meant when they said that it was, “OK, not to worry.“ Great location, great ownership, great food, and great atmosphere. Highly recommend. ando
Ando D — Google review
The food is not bad but it's not worth the experience. The service was poor, we arrived at the place and we were totally ignored, we had to chase a waitress to ask if we had to be seated or we could take a table ourselves (the two people at the bar looked directly at us and completely ignored us). It seems to me the people at the kitchen had to do everything (from cooking and serving to cleaning up) while the people behind the bar just take orders (they won't do anything beyond that) It's really disappointing because we found that people in Halifax are very friendly and helpful. My suggestion: walk around the corner (not even 2 minutes!) and go to an Italian cafe nearby (we had the best Devil's Chocolate cake there).
Mario P — Google review
My wife and I visited Halifax from Toronto and Steve-O-Reno is hands-down our favourite coffee shop for breakfast. We came here for breakfast 3 out of the 5 days we were in Halifax. Their pour-over single origin coffee was incredibly well-brewed and their latte was also fantastic. The barista definitely knew what he was doing. All the pastries and bread were fresh and delicious. My wife bought 3 different scones and all of them were big and tasty, so were the bagels and muffins that I had. The coffee shop had a great atmosphere overall as well. Truly a gem in the city!
James Z — Google review
The smoked salmon and avocado benny was perfectly done and the cappuccino had a great medium roast flavour. Service was very good. A lot of character in this restaurant. I only wish it were open until later as it closes at 2pm.
Danny Y — Google review
Steve-O-Reno's seedy oatcake is quite possibly the best oatcake in Halifax (in NS?... the world?). It was so good and a pretty hefty size so you are getting a good deal for your money. The cappuccino was great too and beautiful to look at. They have a sweet patio where you can tuck away in peace and quiet with a book for a little while. Though they close a little earlier than most places (2 pm on saturdays), they were pretty relaxed and did not boot anyone out right at 2 pm on the dot. Great background playlist too. Thank you Steve-O-Reno's people!
Claire M — Google review
Had a lovely salmon bagel here, it’s a lovely little spot for brunch or lunch. A limited menu of bagels and sandwiches but what they do they seem to do well.
James M — Google review
Just a stone's throw away from where we were staying at Prince George Hotel, this is quite the busy spot according to my wife. My eggs Benedict was absolutely FABULOUS. Her choice equally GOOD, along with our respective coffees.

A Halifax gem! Great coffee, friendly staff, and a cozy Halifax vibe. The breakfast avocado toast is amazing and the espresso is always perfect. One of my go-to spots in the city!

This small cafe off Quinpool Road in Halifax is loved for its locally sourced food and drinks, as well as the friendly atmosphere. It's popular with locals and tourists alike, and gets busy at all hours of the day.
Really good! This café is a bit of a dying breed in that it’s very maximalist: the atmosphere, menu and service are all ambitious but the team does a great job of delivering on that ambition. The classic breakfast sandwich was voted best in Halifax and it’s easy to see why! The coffee was pretty good too! A must-try in Halifax for sure.
Firmino G — Google review
I visited this place because of its high rating but left a bit underwhelmed. The seating inside felt cramped, and the chairs were uncomfortable and some were even broken. I ordered the egg Sammy, loved the challah bread, but it was awkward to eat. The bagel sandwich wasn’t very fresh, and the coffee was pretty basic. For the prices, it felt like just another overhyped breakfast and coffee spot. The bakery items (spicy walnut scone and peach cake) on the other hand, which I believe are outsourced, were actually quite good!!
A P — Google review
We loved our breakfast bagels and coffees from Dilly Dally! I ordered the Veggie Bagel, and was overly thrilled with how delicious it was! The atmosphere was so cozy and charming, it felt very welcoming, like you could hang out all day. It was super busy when we were there, but the service was still very friendly and quick! I would highly recommend visiting Dilly Dally if you find yourself in the area!
Nicole I — Google review
Small coffee shop with options for quick grab and go items or more traditional served to table breakfast sandwiches. The shop has close quarters, so during peak hours you may have to use the outdoor seating (which is still quite nice!) Limited parking (two spots adjacent to the shop.)
Trevor W — Google review
Great coffee shop that seems to always be very busy, but we lucked out in getting a table and didn't have a wait. The Canadiano (bonus points for not calling it Americano) was excellent. I had the bacon and egg croissant, which was delicious. Bacon was thick and a bit chewy, but not overpowering. The wife had a butternut squash soup which had a really nice curry kick, and was served with some delicious soft bread. The lemon babke was great too. Definitely recommend, but be prepared to wait a bit because it was very busy!
Shawn C — Google review
What a special little spot! So much on the menu and the cafe was beautiful. It was so good, we barely had room to sit down. Loved it!
Kylie A — Google review
Love the vibe of this place. Eclectic feel, little Dino 🦕 figurines hidden everywhere, excellent vegan options. Had the BLT and made it vegan. They added seitan bacon and avocado. Every ingredient was thoughtfully seasoned. Plenty of plant milk options available. Highly recommend.

Poached egg salmon sandwich was good. Chai latte was fantastic. Matcha was great. You need a key for the washroom.

Cabin Coffee is a charming cafe located in downtown Halifax, offering a cozy cabin-like atmosphere that provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The family-run establishment serves up a delightful menu featuring beloved recipes such as seedy breakfast bars and famous Halifamous Cinnamon buns. The rustic Canadiana kitsch decor adds to the inviting ambiance, with leather armchairs for guests to relax in.
I had the pleasure of discovering Cabin Coffee during my time in Halifax, and it was always a treat to visit. The moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a warm, cabin-like atmosphere that feels like a retreat from the city. The rustic decor, complete with a fireplace and comfy seating, makes it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the service is always prompt and welcoming. Their coffee, sourced from local roasters, is consistently delicious, and their baked goods are a treat. The cinnamon rolls are a must-try! What truly sets Cabin Coffee apart is its cozy vibe and excellent service. Whether you're grabbing a quick breakfast or settling in for a study session, the atmosphere ensures a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming spot to enjoy a great cup of coffee in a unique setting.
Urvish B — Google review
Amazing spot! The coffee selection is fantastic and the taste is top-notch. The food is incredibly fresh, just like something your mom would bake at home. I tried the cinnamon roll and it was absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be back whenever I'm in Halifax. For those staying at the Sheraton, it's directly across from the main entrance—super convenient! Highly recommend, AAA+++.
Chris M — Google review
This coffee house has a great location and a pleasant atmosphere. The service was also good. However, their breakfast options are limited, so we only had bagels, which weren’t very impressive. Overall, it’s a great place to have a coffee in downtown, but they could improve their breakfast menu by adding some bakery options.
Shaily M — Google review
What a beautiful place!! On a girls trip, my friend demanded to eat here. She’s been coming for 15 years. The service was great and the staff friendly. The food perfect. So good that my picture is from the end of the meal. Fresh breakfast, fresh baking. Have the cinnamon buns and chocolate chip cookies(heated!).

Was looking for a place for coffee while visiting the Halifax Waterfront, as the vendors there all had long lines. Not only is Cabin Coffee a stones throw from the Waterfront it is also a fantastic little gem to stop in warm up and escape the crowd. I loved the rustic atmosphere and how cozy it felt! We got Lavender London Fogs and they were fantastic and definitely helped keep us warm as we perused the Waterfront further. Would return in a heartbeat!
Olivia A — Google review
Good location with beautiful light. In need of a deep clean and drastically improved daily cleaning. Cleanliness issues are hard to get past. There are crumbs, dust and sticky all over. I ordered an extra hot latte, it came lukewarm and had to be microwaved. The latte was very watery and disappointing. Curious if the manager will respond with tangible action. Supporting local is earned not by default.

We happened on this sweet spot just when we needed a rest and some food. We had a delicious bowl of soup in a cozy, comfortable, relaxed space. Great service, great selections and great decor! Wish there were cafes like this in my town.

Elle's Bistro is a cozy and unpretentious eatery located on Gottingen Street. It's known for its hearty breakfast and lunch options, as well as a variety of coffee drinks. The bistro takes pride in offering Eggs Benedict in fifteen different ways, including unique substitutions like jalapeno shredded potato latkes. In addition to their breakfast specialties, Elle's Bistro also serves delicious burgers, sandwiches, and entrees at great prices.
My first visit here and I can't wait to return! Everything was delicious and so much more I want to try. The burger and onion rings were perfectly done!
Kelly H — Google review
Elle's bistro has always been a Halifax special in my book. From the perfect downtown location to the amazing breakfast food in the past, it was a no-brainer. However, my last trip wasn't up to the mark. We went in for a late lunch, but apart from the burger, everything else was bang average. This genuinely made me sad, but I hope the next time is a good one. Can recommend for breakfast, but I'm not sure about the lunch menu.
Chetanpreet S — Google review
We had egg benedict with meat, pancakes ( half order) and French toasts, and two shakes. It was my sons birthday. Wonderful experience. Very large pancakes and toasts. Costed up to 60 cad. It's not bad for 4 people for brunch.
Reem A — Google review
Came in for a simple breakfast but we were treated with a really exciting menu, at fair prices. I wanted to try everything but I stuck with the classic breakfast with sour dough and sausage...... It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Don't pass this place, stop in for a surprise.
Pat C — Google review
I’ve been to Elles bistro previously when I lived in Halifax and loved it, but when I came back to visit today I was very disappointed. The service was very slow, I believe only one waitress was working, but beyond that we waited over an hour for our food. I ordered a tea and the pot it came in was leaking and spilled boiling hot water all over my hands. I had ordered the Nutella banana and strawberry French toast, and found almost no Nutella on it (picture provided), and the French toast had no flavour. I had wanted to switch and order something else but the waitress never came back. Eventually I just decided to leave and get food somewhere else, after eating hardly any of my food. After mentioning how disappointed I was with the meal and service, I was still charged for the uneaten meal. Very disappointed and will not be returning.
Emily B — Google review
It was our first time here, and we did have a good time! The servers were super nice and patient, especially we were there with a baby. They set up the baby chair for us and made sure we were comfortable. The food we got were egg Benedicts, steak and eggs, French toasts and some sides. The steak and eggs I got was super tasty, and they had the onions and mushrooms on the top of the steak, which was definitely a plus. I also love their home fries and eggs, just felt the steak was a bit too small. My friends all enjoyed their meals, but it would be nice if there’s some seasoning for the home fries. Other than that, good atmosphere, good service, decent prices, and so many options! We do love this restaurant!
Carrie G — Google review
Today was our first visit and we will definitely be back. I got the chicken burger and my husband the clubhouse sandwich, which he allowed me a bite of and next time I will definitely be getting that! Service was friendly and prompt. The only complaint I have is the stairwell up to the bathrooms is very dark. I have a mobility issues with my leg and I found it challenging and hard to see going up and do own. Definitely need more lighting. Other than that was very pleased.
Callie F — Google review
The breakfast was hot and tasty but you can get the same fare anywhere. Our waitress was ill-equipped so we waited far too long for menus and coffee without any acknowledgment. I really wanted to like this place and it seems many people do but the best decor, the best music, even the best food falls flat when accompanied with poor or substandard service. It's not how it tasted but how they made you feel;  that is what people will remember. Update: We've been back a few times and the service has improved.

Amazing place. Accommodating. Annie - the owner has a very warm personality. Lots of regulars. Homemade food.

This is a cute little breakfast place. The prices are pretty decent. I got the eggs Benny on special. - the portion size was on the smaller side which is understandable for the price! - the bread was homemade but unfortunately a little bit hard and lacking flavour - the hollandaise sauce was actually the worst I have had in a restaurant. It tasted and looked more like melted butter than anything. Thin and flavourless. - the eggs were done nicely! - blueberry jam was good. Overall I wouldn't go back but it was nice to try.

This place makes me so happy, it's such a real, authentic, local little vibe. Way better than 90% of the bougie downtown spots. Annie is a real sweetheart, and the little diner aesthetic is so perfect. Great stuff going on here 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Bodhi A — Google review
Annie is super nice. She is trying. I wish it were better, but it missed on lots of levels. It didn’t take long for the breakfast to unwind when the first cup of coffee was delivered, a whole carton of cream dropped onto the table and then taken back when the waiter said the coffee was messed up as there would be copious grounds on the bottom of the cup. The omelette was a veggie omelette unlike anything I have ever experienced. It was a salad in an omelette. Like cucumber, cabbage…. In an omelette? I was game. It was not good. The other order was two eggs over medium and one egg yolk was over hard with broken yolk. If you break the yolk start over? I don’t know. Orders the pancakes as a third dish and they were uninspired and flat with thickness like a crepe. The best part was the store bought syrup sadly. The homemade bread was as hard as a rock. Gosh I wish this review were different and if you read my reviews you will know I try to be both entertaining and accurate. This review doesn’t have a lot of platitudes for a reason. The place is super small and it seems that two of their tables are broken because people showed up and turned away because there was no room and only four tables being used at the time. The reviews were so favorable. I love local finds and one of a kind spots. But sadly to say, I have no clue where those reviews came from. This place is one to unfortunately pass up.

What an fantastic, but different experience we had going for breakfast at Annie's! The environment is unique, and we loved it. Experiencing Annie and her small team directly was very interesting, and the outcome of the breakfast food was outstanding! Worth a visit for all for sure!

We came here because of the positive reviews and liked that it’s small biz not big chains. But this place is just not good. Ordered a large latte, got a large mug alright but only filled to 1/2. Asked for water multiple times and when finally came, four of us were asked to share two glasses. My daughter was asked how she’d like her eggs for the Benny, she got excited for a bit and said soft, except when it came, one was at best medium and the other was well done and yolk broken. My oatmeal with fruit that cost 8 CAD came with literally tasteless oats with a few sorry blueberries, and nothing else. The bill came to be 80 CAD before tips. The food was prepared bare hand with no gloves, reeks of grease from the kitchen. Don’t get fooled by the reviews, avoid this place.

We love Annie’s Place. Haven’t been in a few years as we’re from Kingston but the place hasn’t changed. Annie remembered my name when we walked in. Can you believe it?! Breakfast was delicious and coffee great. Thanks Annie! We’ll see you soon

The Canteen on Portland is a sophisticated and well-lit restaurant in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It started as a gourmet sandwich shop before evolving into a full-blown restaurant. The menu features creative seasonal comfort fare, including soups, sandwiches, salads for lunch, and more formal dishes like Grilled Radicchio with seared halloumi and Mushroom Fettuccine for dinner.
I’m a bit mad at myself for not coming here sooner. The food was absolutely spot on, spectacular. Local ingredients, beautiful scallops, and the bun on the Crobster roll was as memorable as the filling. Our server Eva was awesome! Great to be around, so nice. We felt totally spoiled. If you want great NS seafood, creative classic dishes, and an all-round impressive experience, you gotta come! Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing experience! Food was delicious, I left super full. The drinks were really good, mine was a little small for the price. The server was funny. We had a spot in the sun on the patio. Had to park way down the road, that’s the worst part. It was a great evening. This spot was recommended to me. I would definitely go back.
Ava A — Google review
We had the Snow Crab Dip and Lobster Pasta, and both dishes were amazingly delicious! The service was top-notch, and the lady who served us was so kind and friendly — she greeted us with a smile every time and truly made my day better. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she made our visit extra special. It was a superb experience overall, and we’ll definitely be coming back! 🦀🍝💙

Great place with friendly staff and outstanding seafood dishes. I had the seared haddock with hodge podge, and the mussels with fries — both were simply amazing. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout my visit. I was tempted to try their “Crobster Roll,” but decided not to, as it’s a mix of lobster and crab sold at the same price as a traditional lobster roll — which felt a bit misleading to me. Also, note that their menu changes depending on the time of day, so some of the signature dinner dishes aren’t available during brunch. Despite those minor issues, I had a really nice experience overall and would definitely recommend this place!
S. R — Google review
This place was recommended to us by friends in Halifax and wow are we glad we went. Our waiter Sheldon obviously enjoyed working there and gave excellent service and recommended other places in the area as well. The other waitresses and bus staff helped each other out with ease and without being asked, and also seemed to enjoy working there. Food came out of the kitchen quicker than I expected after ordering and was hot and arguably the best restaurant food I’ve had. I am always a fry dipper in ketchup but these fries were ruined by the ketchup, they are so good on their own. My burger was large and fresh and obviously real meat with such a delicious pairing of sauces and flavours. My husband’s steak was cooked to perfection and tasted so fresh and beefy, and the roasted broccoli had the most perfect crispy florets and seasoning. The atmosphere on the patio was quietly lively and felt private at our table at the same time. If you are in Dartmouth/Halifax this place is a must.

This spot was recommended to me by a friend and it definitely did not disappoint! A spot for great NS seafood. The crobster roll was loaded with NS snow crab and lobster! I loved the canteen chowder and it was full of seafood and haddock. Such a fun and delicious spot in Dartmouth!
Annie N — Google review
Enjoyed the famous crobster roll and it was delicious. The crab and lobster go very well together especially with the truffle aioli, grainy mustard and dill which packs a lot of flavour. I savoured every bite but ate it so fast I almost forgot how good it was. Would love to go back again.
Rick G — Google review
Went there today with 5 friends. We ordered Haddock burgers with fries and 2 friends had the special which was an open face beef sandwich with mushrooms and cheese. We all enjoyed our meal and agreed that the bun didn’t really work with the haddock. It was a bit soggy at the end. The fish was excellent and I ate mine without the bun. For dessert I ordered the Pavlova since it’s my favourite and I’ve never seen it on a menu. Delicious. Did not disappoint. Another lady ordered the carrot cake as it’s her favourite. (Not the first time here for her). When I visit Dartmouth again, I will definitely stop in again.

Cora is a popular breakfast and brunch spot known for its generous portions and affordable prices. The restaurant offers a variety of food options, including customizable dishes for vegetarians. Customers have praised the cleanliness of the place, impeccable service, and the freshness of the food. While some have found certain items to be slightly underwhelming in terms of taste or portion size, overall, Cora is recommended for its delicious and fresh offerings. The staff is attentive and friendly, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.
Amazingly cozy family restaurant serving Breakfast and Lunch. Beautiful fruit arrangements, delicious waffles and crepe dishes and many other healthy and hearty options. The service is spot on and the dishes consistently come out looking exactly like the menu pics. Bring your whole family, you won't be disappointed.

We'd been to several Cora's before and had some great food. So color us shocked when we received these potatoes and the slob they called Hollandaise. The potatoes were okay but drastically different from what we've ever had at Cora's. But that Hollandaise... no, just no. The whole place was dirty and clearly understaffed. The poor waitress was visibly stressed, but still friendly.

We found our perfect "breakfast" place. Very comfortable, nice place. Good prices, good service, delicious food, a menu with photos so you don't need to guess "would it be tasty or not?!".

🥞🥓🍳My favorite breakfast & brunch restaurant🤤. I come alone or with a friend/family member often. Like 2-3× a month! Highly recommend the 1990s Harvest for those who want their breakfast and sweet tooth satisfied in the same meal. 👌 The staff are friendly, fast and accommodating. Gluten-free options are available here! Updated review: not much has changed. STILL the perfect breakfast/brunch restaurant, in my opinion. Today's brunch was "Paul wants it all" eggs toast lots of bacon, potatoe wedges, toast and half a waffle smothered in a cream sauce topped with fruit and I added syrup too. Mmmmm. Hitting the gym later this afternoon to work it all off haha
Melody — Google review
Delicious brunch! French toast was thick and fluffy, and the "crepomelet" was a great combination of a Western omelet with ham, cheddar, bell peppers and onions, wrapped inside a savory crepe, topped with hollandaise sauce. Wonderful! Fast service, warm wood floors and furniture, lots of light streaming in the window. The fruit side dish was great -- even the grapes were cut in half! Nice touches everywhere.

We found this restaurant in Ottawa and we loved it, then we knew it was also here in Hali and we got totally disappointed 👎🏻 The waiting for food is unbelievable The gave our order by mistake to other table before us, we asked for pancakes before our plate and we got the same eggs first 🤦🏻‍♀️ also with hair on the potato’s… we wait for like an hour before get our food and our waitress, bad as well, didn’t pay attention at all The food is good but service sucks 👎🏻 also they need to be careful with hygiene Bad experience 😪
Natalia P — Google review
Good place for breakfast/brunch. The server was sweet and hospitable. We ordered the egg skillet and sausage & eggs. The food was overall good but they can make the toast and potatoes better. The toast was partially raw bread because it was not uniformly toasted. The potatoes had zero flavour. Lastly, I request you to use good quality fresh fruits as all the fruits were sour or stale.
Arjoon V — Google review
On vacation, don't normally eat breakfast but decided to today. The place was clean, the service was impeccable and the food was fresh, hot and cooked to perfection. One thing that amazed me was it is one of the cheapest breakfast in the city for the size of the proportions. I could dead name a few other spots that are way over hyped and way over priced with smaller portions. My meal in this picture was 15 bucks and I left a 5 buck tip. Recommend and will be back.

The Arms, nestled within the Lord Nelson Hotel in downtown Halifax, is a charming English-style pub offering a cozy and unpretentious atmosphere. The dimly-lit interior with dark furnishings exudes character, making it an inviting spot to enjoy traditional English comfort food and international-influenced cuisine. Whether savoring classic fish and chips or indulging in buttermilk fried chicken for brunch, The Arms promises a delightful dining experience.
Friends visiting Halifax host a dinner in this place. We had a wonderful night, in a very nice place, with very good food and amazing service. As my friend used to say the atmosphere was not bad for being in a hotel restaurant. From the beginning, everything was fantastic. The waitress from Brazil was so nice and delivered extraordinary service. My expectations before the dinner were so low, first because restaurants in a hotel are not always the best place to be, and secondly, some of the reviews were so bad. But in the end, nothing of these were true. Thanks for the service and the food. We had a great time in your place.

My first time to the Arms and we are frequent guests of the Lord Nelson where it's located. We were not disappointed. Went for the Dine around Halifax menu. Soup was amazing, tuna done to perfection. Atmosphere was a 10 and the service was amazing. Will be returning to try the regular menu! We booked our table as it was Valentine's Day. Unsure if reservations are normally necessary.
Dawn W — Google review
The Arms was one of the last places we visited for brunch during our trip to Halifax, and it didn’t disappoint. Located right inside The Lord Nelson Hotel (where we stayed), the ambience strikes a nice balance between English elegance and a cozy pub. The Seafood Chowder was rich yet light, letting the freshness of the seafood really shine. I had the English Style Fish and Chips, and it was delicious! The fries were soft inside with a crispy crunch on the outside, while the cod was nicely battered and fried—crispy but not heavy at all. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and seasoned just right. Our server, Ethan (if I remember correctly!), was calm, professional, and friendly. They were quick and attentive when taking our orders, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a brunch spot with great food and warm service in Halifax, The Arms is definitely worth a visit :-) I’m hoping to grab dinner here next time we visit!

Really great experience. Good customer service and good food. We had the fish n chips and tortelli, both were delicious. The browned butter and molasses bread starter was also quite tasty.
Luke C — Google review
The seafood chowder is amazing. It was buttery and creamy with lobster, scallops, and shrimps. It was so filling that my wife and I ended up sharing a main dish. The main dish was equally tasty; it consisted of scallops with potatoes and broccolini on top of a spicy siracco sauce. The ambiance was old Irish / Scotland feeling. Spacious with generous room for privacy. On top of all this is great cocktails served, I had a negroni with the wife having aperol spritz
Frank R — Google review
Absolutely loved this place. Fantastic service from our delightful server Emma. We met Mikey Styles from the bar, longstanding bartender at the restaurant. My husband had a manhattan and an old fashioned and I had the Mikey styles margarita and drinks were delicious. My husband had the Angus Burger and fries and I had the halibut with asparagus and beans. Both of our meals were absolutely phenomenal. Very impressed with the flavor of the burger and fish and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Delicious fries too. Really pleased and we will be back!

The gluten-free pancakes at Smitty's Family Restaurant are the best I've ever had. The staff is generally attentive and friendly, although there may be some room for improvement in training the hostess. When I asked for a gluten-free menu, the hostess initially seemed unaware of how to handle my request, but the server quickly stepped in and retrieved the menu from the hostess station.
My first experience at Smitty's Family Restaurant in Dartmouth was absolutely delightful. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out for its excellence. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. The quality of the food was equally impressive. The pasta, accompanied by incredibly well-prepared meatballs, was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The classic fish and chips were also outstanding, with the fish cooked to perfection and the chips crispy and delicious. It’s clear that great care goes into the preparation of each dish, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to providing a memorable dining experience. Additionally, the ambiance of Smitty's is another highlight. The space is well-organized, clean, and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a meal. The décor is simple yet functional, contributing to a comfortable and relaxed vibe. Overall, my experience at Smitty's Family Restaurant was excellent, thanks to the outstanding service, delicious food, and inviting environment. It’s definitely a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a tasty meal in a cozy setting. I’m already looking forward to returning and trying more items from their menu!
Gisely D — Google review
Smitty’s in Dartmouth remains a dependable spot for classic comfort food and a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. The menu covers all the bases—from big breakfasts to hearty dinners—and the portions are generous. It’s a great place for a relaxed meal, especially with kids or larger groups. That said, the service isn’t quite what it used to be. While still generally good, it’s noticeably slower and less attentive than in past years. Prices have also crept up a bit, and while the food is enjoyable, it doesn’t always feel like the best value. Still, it’s a familiar and reliable choice when you’re in the mood for a classic diner-style experience. A solid four stars.

The BEST pancakes! If you're looking for breakfast, lunch or supper, Smitty's "Dartmouth" never disappoints. We live over an hour away and whenever we're in the city, my family and I like to eat here as it has something for everyone. The service is always on point and the seating area is clean. The restaurant itself is a bit dated but that does not affect the quality and taste of the food 🥰 Would highly recommend!

This Smitty's delivers a truly peak experience in every way. The service here is INCREDIBLE. They are beyond friendly, responsive, and hilarious (especially Monique!!!) The food is reliably delicious whether you want a simple bacon and eggs or something a little fancier. Highly recommend the santa fe skillet and the cinnamon swirl pancakes. I'm obsessed with this Smitty's!!!

Was a huge fan of Smitty’s for years! Unfortunately this time I came with my partner it was unfortunately not the best. He had ordered the meat lovers skillet, the eggs were so rubbery and everything else was very tasteless. I had ordered French toast and it was pretty much floating in strawberry sauce, which I thought it was going to be fresh strawberries. Along with that they put probably a cup of whip cream on top of it all.. which I appreciate if they thought it was going to be tasteful but at the end I couldn’t even taste the French toast :(

This is the best breakfast/lunch place on the board walk. They are very affordable and very nice customer service. I had the club sandwich combo and it was honestly one of the best sandwich’s I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend to stop by the summit cafe if you’re ever on the board walk!!!

Finally went here on a weekday morning to try out the breakfast. While the food/atmosphere isn't too notch, I literally don't think there is currently a cheaper diner breakfast in Halifax. Like, I think this is the cheapest. 7 bucks for eggs, meat, toast, hash browns... MWAH 🤌🏼 Give this place a try, the vibe is nothin fancy, the food gets the job done, and to be honest I quite liked it. (Maybe just be more generous with the hash browns next time )
Bodhi A — Google review
It's the best value meal on the Halifax Harbourfront. Nothing spectacular about the food, but it won't hurt your wallet. Clubhouse sandwich uses real turkey, albeit a bit dry. Has an outside patio that looks out at the waterfront and the overpriced $30+ lobster roll shack, the opposite of this place. Or take out and sit at one of several tables on the waterfront. Weekdays only.
KM — Google review
I wanted to eat lunch on the wharf. I have passed the Summit Cafe many times and wanted to try it. I had the club house sandwich and it tasted good. The turkey is real not deli sliced which is a huge positive. There is spinach instead of lettuce. Great value for its location to the wharf. The prices on the menu all looked reasonable. I look forward to trying breakfast sometime.

Very basic but charming and relaxed little breakfast place. Food was SUPER good and got to our table surprisingly fast - I typically associate long wait times with breakfast restaurants but I was proven wrong here. Service was equally excellent. If you're nearby for the Buskers festival, this place is a phenomenal way to start your day.

This place is all about comfort food at comforting prices. I stopped in for a quick hot breakfast and it was delicious. The patio might be the best on the whole waterfront. I wonder if this place is a secret to anybody who doesn't work in the building. There's just a small subtle sign by the stairs on the boardwalk. Definitely a spot worth seeking out

I stopped in for a quick breakfast and unfortunately left quite disappointed. I ordered the French toast, which appeared to be little more than plain bread given a brief dip in egg. The dish was undercooked, lacked any real flavor, and overall felt rushed. For something so simple, I had expected much better.

In addition to serving classic espresso drinks, this cafe also provides brunch options and signature cocktails. The menu features an array of delectable treats such as handpies, bomboloni, tarts, and scones that are both visually appealing and delicious.
I’ve visited this café a few times, and each time has been a great experience. The service is friendly, and the food is unique. Their lattes are excellent! While the menu isn’t large, it offers a nice selection that accommodates both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. It can get busy, but I’ve never had to wait long for a seat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. One small improvement could be maintaining cleaner floors, though this might have been due to peak hours during my visit. Arrived early enough to get in without a reservation (which is recommended as this place is always busy). Heard great things and was not disappointed. The Breakfast Tacos were delicious, the refried beans ( we got them on the side) were spicy and delicious. Green sauce was a nice touch. The potatoes were my favorite part, absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. Great service. Great coffee and lots of amazing pastries also.

What a pleasant surprise! We didn’t expect much when we stopped by, but the food was honestly 10/10 — absolutely delicious. A gem in Halifax! Wonderful, beautiful, and delicious café. I was here for a business trip, and came every day just because it was that amazing! Service was attentive and friendly. The chicken sandwich with the potatoes was succulent. Best I have had in a while. *chef’s kiss* The passionfruit parfait was also delicious and refreshing. I tried their tomato and garlic focaccia as well as their blueberry lemon scone, and again, didn’t disappoint. 100% recommended and hope to return in the future.

The food and the service were simply amazing! I ordered the strawberry shortcake waffles and they didn’t disappoint at all. The matcha strawberry was good, but it just could’ve been a little better as I feel they might’ve just added strawberry syrup. Other than that, I highly recommend this place, it wasn’t too loud and the decor was super cute too!

Bliss Caffeine Bar was my favourite spot to visit during our trip to Halifax. I went back twice because the first time wasn’t enough. First time, we got brunch. Getting seated was fast and our server (whose name I unfortunately can’t remember) was really friendly and professional. They were timely with getting our orders and we really appreciated their warm hospitality. I got the Bliss Brekkie, and hands down the best breakfast/brunch dish I’ve had. Perfect portion, seasoned very well, and everything was balanced. I absolutely loved the breakfast sausage and roasted potatoes—I’m drooling just thinking about it! I also got their chocolate chip cookie as a sweet treat, and it was the perfect ending to a great brunch. The second time I went was to snag their donuts and more of the cookies before they were all sold out. I loved the strawberry cheesecake donut—the filling was sooo dreamy. The s’mores-inspired one was also great and I liked how the sweet meringue balanced the chocolate pastry cream. Just a cute spot with really good food and treats. I’ll definitely be coming back if I visit again!

Nestled in Dartmouth, Mic Mac Bar and Grill has gained a strong reputation as the best restaurant in the area, earning the title for four consecutive years. This family-owned tavern offers a diverse menu featuring hearty burgers, steaks, and all-day brunch options. It's no surprise that locals consider it an institution and go out of their way to experience its down-to-earth ambiance and fully stocked pub fare.
We went here for Easter supper. I gave 5 stars across the board even though we did have a 45 min wait for our table and 35 min wait for food - that's to be expected during a Holiday. I had the bbq chicken Burger and everyone else had the hot turkey. I thought the burger was excellent. Very juicy and flavorful. I got hot sauce on the side to dip. Aside from the wait times, service was excellent. Our server was super friendly and checked in often.

Amazing food that’s reasonable priced. We went with another couple and loved their steak dinners and absolutely loved our fried scallops, the Thai Curry Mussels I was skeptical but was made a true believer. Strongly suggest you make reservations as this a true local hidden gem! Our waitress was amazing! Fresh food and clean restaurant!

Had dinner tonight. It was very busy but was worth the wait. We had the steak and lobster dinner with pork ribs ends and a Cesar salad. Great value and quality for the price. We would definitely return. It was our last dinner for our trip to Halifax and it was the best for last. The steak came with a side. I chose the rice pilaf and mashed vegetables. Very tasty. Salad was very refreshing.

I'm sorry to say that the lobster was way overcooked....you can tell when there is tons of the white stuff (the lobsters blood), it was not sweet, probably because it was overcooked. I would have preferred plain or salted butter to their seasoned version. The spicey potato skins were not spicy but very salty and they're not skins as you expect on most menus, but shavings from potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender but way too salty. The coleslaw slaw was good, but could have been much better if it werent so watery. Rock, my server was patient and excellent.

Seafood restaurant
The Bluenose II Restaurant offers a relaxed dining experience with a wood-accented setting and a menu featuring seafood, steaks, and classic dishes. With over 50 years of history, this restaurant is known for its great food and inviting atmosphere. It's a popular spot for hot turkey sandwiches, diner specials, seafood options, and even lobster dinners. The restaurant also offers delectable desserts at affordable prices.
I had such a lovely experience at this place recently! The lobster roll was absolutely fantastic, and the home fries were perfectly cooked. Everyone in my group raved about their breakfast as well, making it a truly memorable meal. The service was also incredibly friendly and efficient, adding to the positive atmosphere. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable dining experience.

Seafood diner serving up some great seafood at reasonable prices. The Bluenose II restaurant is a hotdog bun lobster roll place. Which I have absolutely no problem with. Other establishments will serve a top-split bun. Fancy vs simple. I am there for the filling, and the bun second. The lobster roll was very good. Not the best I have had, but worth a try. We had pan fried haddock as well, with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Great as well. Service is very good, quick and efficient. The dining room is very simple, clean and creates a nice diner feel. Location is steps from the waterfront, so a nice stroll along the boardwalk after diner is a nice option.

This restaurant is located at a busy intersection so it catches your eye after walking by a few times. Get the whole lobster instead of the lobster roll, it tastes fresher and better with butter; plus the clam chowder is tasty. Lobster roll was pretty disappointing with the bread being too hard and given the tiniest scoop of lobster. Lobster dinner was $49 and lobster roll $26 (before taxes + tip) Reservations not needed, coming on a Friday night they were maybe 2/3 full.

Fantastic experience at Bluenose II! Noticed it while on the way to visit the citadel and decided to return there after unsuccessfully finding somewhere for lunch. What a lucky coincidence - it was an amazing experience all around and should've been our top choice. I had the cheeseburger and it was 5 stars. So tasty!! Lobster roll was equally good. I could eat that burger every day.

Recommended by a local to try out this restaurant for some sea food. We decided to try the clam chowder, fish and chips, and a lobster roll. The fish and chips featured two large pieces of haddock white fish which was fresh, no fishy flavour. Came with a nice tartar sauce. I asked for extra lemon and it was even better. Clam chowder was excellent and wasn't too salty as some reviews mentioned. The lobster roll was good as well. I squeezed some extra lemon on that and it was even tastier. The only thing lacking is that no one came to refill our water glasses. She came to check on us after we finished. Good thing we brought our own bottled water.

Wide menu with good value for the portions. Classic diner-style spot — casual and a bit outdated but cozy. We tried the lobster roll, fish and chips, and clam chowder. The fish and chips were the standout, great flavor and crispy fries. The chowder was rich and creamy but a bit cold, and the lobster roll was good but not amazing. Overall, a solid place for a casual meal, though not sure it’s the best representation of Halifax seafood.

This spot is a hidden gem for good food! The vibe is pleasant and casual, making it perfect for a relaxed meal. While prices might be a tad high for the portion sizes, the location justifies the cost compared to other local restaurants. Thanks to our local friend for the recommendation – we weren't disappointed! We'll definitely be back during our trip

I typically don't give less than 5 star reviews but me and my family were incredibly disappointed by this restaurant. We ordered the spaghetti and lobster meal, in terms of service the waiter forgot to give us our salad and then forgot to give us the dessert, and blamed it on the chef forgetting when it was clearly their responsibility. The lobster didn't taste very fresh and although the size looked fine, there was not much meat and was mostly empty inside. The spaghetti's sauce was watery on the bottom but solid on the top, and the noodles tasted cheap. Once we brought to their attention that they forgot to also bring pudding, they gave it to us as take out (for benefit of doubt, they also did say they were waiting for us to finish to bring out the pudding, but we were also waiting quite a bit before we decided to just go) the pudding they gave was not even halfway full in the already small container (although again, that could be how small their portions usually are). If you (like us) have been recommended to eat there, we strongly advise against it.

Event venue
The Lower Deck, situated by the picturesque Halifax harbor, is a popular spot known for its lively atmosphere and live music. Since 1974, this pub has been entertaining locals and visitors with nightly performances ranging from classic rock to traditional Celtic tunes. During summer, it becomes a vibrant outdoor venue hosting courtyard parties with diverse musical acts. The historic Privateer's Warehouse houses this charming establishment where patrons can enjoy pub grub on the main floor or savor more refined dishes at the Beer Market upstairs.
I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. We literally had the most fun night of our 20 year married life. Oh wait, sorry 2nd most fun. Phew almost blew that one. The service was remarkable, I've never given a 30% tip in my life but the staff deserved it. The band was really great and really fun, and the sound was outstanding, we could still talk but it was loud! I dunno what they're doing there but the Lower Deck figured it out. Unfair that I live on the other side of the country. Seriously bummed out now.

Great spot I found randomly on a Wednesday night! Live music was great, service was great, food was delicious! I’d definitely come back the next time I visit Halifax!
Christina V — Google review
The beer was absolutely delicious, one of the best mild sour IPA. I am vegetarian, but couldn’t not trying fish at Halifax. Fish and chips was good too. The service wasn’t bad. But I had to pay extra -9 dollars each- for the additional live music, which was too load -even the genre was my favorite. We decided to stay out. Then they changed their spot and continued their music outside, but we were cold and get back inside. I didn’t enjoy any moment of the music.

Charming establishment. Lots of character. Service and food were excellent. Was there for a private wedding. The only thing that was less than ideal was the lack of air conditioning. Overall a great spot. I couldn't help but notice how hard some of the employees worked. Lovely spot, well done !

Black Mould and Surley Staff! Not a great mix when you are running a bar. Went in knowing full well that is was going to be a bit dirty and damp because it is the basement of historic building on the harbour in Halifax. BUT..this place was filthy. Could not get a drink for almost 10 minutes because the bartender had wandered off. The staff behind the bar told us they could not serve us; then a few minutes later they are pouring beer. My draft was so sweet it was undrinkable; that is a good sign they do not clean the draft lines.

This is the place to be for live music. It gets packed but somehow the amazing wait staff are able to serve through the crowds. Great mix of age ranges. We got here at about 10pm and we're still able to find a place to sit. Thre is lots of standing room. Every time I visit Halifax I have to check out the lower deck.

Great location. We went on an October Monday. They were slightly understaffed (they were caught off guard by the volume of customers unseasonably amazing weather), but our servers did their best.
Jenny D — Google review
Had an awesome time here with a small group of friends. Live bands were off the hook! It was super busy so the service was a tiny bit on the slower side and structured differently than I'm used to (separate servers for food and drinks) but I can't really hate on them. They were busting their butts. Also, onion rings were THE BOMB!

Restaurant
Gahan House Nova Centre, located at the corner of Sackville and Argyle Streets, is a bustling downtown brewpub that has been serving up craft brews and pub food since its opening in July 2019. The impressive interior features high ceilings, glass walls, and a central bar where customers can watch the brewing process through glass windows. With floor-to-ceiling windows facing Argyle Street, it's an ideal spot for people-watching.
Gahan House in Halifax was an instant hit for my wife and me—an easy 5/5 across the board. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively without feeling too loud or crowded. Service was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable—especially when it came to the beer. We started with a couple of flights to sample the house brews, and they did not disappoint. Our favourites were the Vic Park, Beacon Blonde, Blueberry Ale, and Honey Wheat—all incredibly well-crafted, fresh, and flavourful. As for the food, it was fantastic. I had the Chorizo and Chicken Penne—perfectly cooked pasta tossed in a rich Cajun cream sauce that really stole the show. The spice level was spot on, and both the chorizo and chicken were tender and packed with flavour. My wife went with the Lobster Mac and Cheese, and it was equally impressive. The lobster was fresh and flaky, and the mac itself was creamy, cheesy, and just the right level of indulgent. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you’re in Halifax and want great food paired with top-notch local brews, Gahan House should be high on your list.
Mike J — Google review
Stopped by mid afternoon on a Sunday, it was quiet, but not empty. Sat in a really comfy booth, and ordered a flight with some apps to share. I recommend the lobster dip (it was a "lobster season" special, not sure if it's available regularly) and the chicken bites that are to die for!!! The beers were also good, with standouts being the Beach Chair Lager and the Raspberry Sour! I would love to come back sometime, maybe during a Saturday sports night to experience the crowd.
Andrew A — Google review
The food was really great, I dont know if I would recommend the tuna tartar since its half tuna and half avocado and cucumber and the chips make it hard to eat as well. The taste was still good though. The House burger on the other hand is delicious. If you like juicy and saucy burgers this one is the one.

Amazing experience today at Gahan House. This is my first brunch experience here and will definitely be back! After being rudely turned away from a neighbouring restaurant that wasn't open yet (we were checking the time on the door, 15 mins to go), we popped into Gahan House and were warmly welcomed by Jacob! He was able to seat our party of 4 in a cozy booth. He was also our main server, brought water right away, answered questions about the menu items and got all our coffee preferences right! We all enjoyed our delicious meals, especially the Eggs Benny option made with candied bacon and the Fried chicken and Waffles, with the crispy coated waffles in traditional Belgian style. We noted that Jacob also tended bar as other staff and visitors arrived and we marveled at how he still managed all his tables and stayed upbeat and friendly. When complimented on his service and the food, he praised the whole team for working hard and said he would share our compliments to the kitchen staff. Highly recommend you visit here when downtown and looking for good food, drinks and service. Thank you to Jacob and the whole staff who made our morning.

Lively atmosphere. All the food was very good with the exception of the mussels. They lacked flavor and I would have expected better from a Maritime Pub. Fish tacos, rice, and nachos and were great.

Your Father's Moustache is a family-owned establishment that has been a staple in Halifax since 1989. It boasts a renowned rooftop patio, known for its all-day sun access and cozy atmosphere with infrared heaters and fire pits. The pub offers an array of local craft beers, spirits, and a diverse pub menu including vegetarian and vegan options. Their traditional poutine is highly recommended, often served with tasty additions like pulled pork.
Always refreshing to see a place put energy and intention behind pub food without making it some sort of elevated other thing. The fries and the sweet hot mess burger were the best I've had in some time. Clubhouse gas too.

Your Father’s Moustache was such a fun and memorable stop during our Halifax trip. It’s got that classic English pub feel—but with a quirky moustache-themed twist that gives it extra charm and personality. They’ve got a great selection of craft beers and cocktails—I went with the Purple Haze and really enjoyed it. Refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. For food, I ordered the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich, and wow—it was incredible. Super flavourful, perfectly cooked, and impressively held together even with the runny (and delicious) egg on top. My wife went with the New Orleans pasta, and we were really impressed by how accommodating the kitchen was with her dietary restrictions. They happily swapped out the chicken and ham for shrimp, and the dish still came out beautifully done. You can tell the chef really loves what they do—it absolutely shows in the quality and care of the food. It’s easy to see why this place is a local favourite. Great vibe, great service, and fantastic food and drinks. Highly recommend!

Your Father's Moustache is not the same anymore! Wings night doesn’t exist… costs $1.56 per wing on a Thursday .. you have to purchase a drink + $1 a wing. Not worth it! Sat in the patio no one came to take our order. We switched to downstairs and Kendyl served us. She was great. Prices on the website are less than in restaurant. Probably our last time here

Food is nothing exceptional. Smash burger was ok. Could have had more browning and maybe a bit more salt and pepper, meat wasn’t super flavourful. Bun was nice and fluffy how I like it. One of our burgers had some frits that were a bit burnt which negatively influenced the flavour. Nachos are also ok, ingredients for toppings didn’t seem super fresh, but was ok. Fries were crispy, but hollow Service was good, came out quick. Atmosphere is nice, it’s right in the heart of spring garden so great location. Ok place to go before going somewhere else. Probably would choose somewhere else next time, but wouldn’t be that upset to come back.

Two If By Sea Cafe is a cozy downtown Dartmouth spot known for its delicious coffee and tea drinks paired with sweet and savory baked goods. The cafe's buttery croissants are a must-try, available in various iterations such as the delectable pain au chocolat filled with quality chocolate or served as a savory breakfast sandwich. They also offer unique croissant specials like the roasted red pepper and goat cheese, along with creative spins like a croissant-based sandwich inspired by a Big Mac.
I was recommended to visit Two If By Sea Cafe when visiting Halifax for the week. We ordered two croissants to share, a matcha latte and coffee. Service was great and the food was awesome. It is a very busy spot, the vibe is great!
Ryan B — Google review
I stopped by Two if By Sea cafe, and while it was a hip spot, I left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. The cafe itself is trendy, but seating is limited, so be prepared to grab-and-go. I ordered an iced matcha latte, but unfortunately, it didn't blow me away. The flavor was just average, and I've had better matcha lattes elsewhere. On the bright side, the croissants were a highlight! They're huge and flaky, and the almond croissant was perfect for me since it wasn't too sweet. However, I have to say that the plain croissant didn't impress me as much - I've had better ones from Costco (and you can't beat the value there!). The Nutella and raspberry danish were just okay - nothing special. Overall, I'd say Two if By Sea cafe is a solid choice if you're in the area, but it's not necessarily a destination worth seeking out.
Raia S — Google review
A really nice cafe, got there just when they were bringing out their fresh batch of pastries and man they are huge. The provolone croissant was bigger than my hand and the chocolate croissant was also very large. Loved the outside seating and their food and ambience.

We really enjoyed the coffee and the numerous varieties of pastries. We had the pain au chocolat and a everything croissant, and it was delicious. The vibe was also very nice, we sat upstairs with all the paper plates with art on them, we had a good time looking at the drawings! The americano is great, will go again!
Arielle R — Google review
Not really sure what the hype is about. The croissants are too dense, the flavor is good but croissants are supposed to be light and flaky. These were far from it. We have tried the prosciutto cheese one and almond croissant. Wouldn't purchase again but their coffee was good and people nice. Also, there is pizza place upstairs - definitely recommend it
Jana K — Google review
You will not find better croissants. The problem is choosing which one. The pain au chocolat is deliciously and generously filled with milk chocolate. The Everything Bagel flavored croissant is amazing as well, filled with cream cheese. This time around I had the special, which was a pumpkin cheesecake croissant. A bit sweet, but oh so good. The seating isn't super comfortable, but if you can snag a table by the open window it's nice. Very busy spot.

This place is so good, it's actually ridiculous. Portions are HUGE! Highly recommend the seafood chowder, scallops, clams, fish and chips. My daughter got the omelette and it was STUFFED with vegetables and cheese! Can't wait for our next trip to Nova Scotia so we can go back again (and again)!

The Pleasant Street Diner was fantastic! While visiting Halifax, we were on the hunt for the best fish and chips—not from a Michelin-starred chef or a hotel restaurant trying to fake the seafood vibe, but the real deal locals actually love. Pleasant Street Diner delivered. You can taste the love in the food. The fish was light, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Our meals arrived in under 15 minutes. This spot is fast, friendly, and full of flavour. I highly recommend it—you honestly can’t go wrong. And whatever you do, save room for dessert. Or don’t… and order it anyway. We were full and still tried the dessert, and it was absolutely worth it—made fresh daily. I’m still looking for the six-star button.

Other than pad Thai, everything is good. Regarding the pad thai, i srsly think they need to change the recipe because: 1/ this ain’t pad Thai: this is just a noodle dish that has curry sauce in it. 2/ The curry sauce is tasteless. Atmosphere is amazing! Service is super good!

Visited this place for a co-worker's farewell lunch. As expected, all the seafood dishes I tried were amazing. The calamari was my favorite out of all of them. Perfectly seasoned with a generous amount served. I was absolutely not ready for the sticky toffee pudding cake. My eyes glazed over after the first bite. Other restaurants and pubs nearby serve the same dessert, but their version is more intentional (not just the presentation) and the difference in quality shows. Solid lunch overall!!!

I went here some time ago for breakfast with my friends. It was around Christmas time and they had a specials menu, and I picked Mac n Cheese. The thing is I was then new to North America and was not aware what Mac n Cheese really meant, I thought it would be some nice pasta with different sauces, spices and cheese. I was horrified when I saw what I got: the big bowl of cheap macaroni with just plain cheese. Now I understand it probably was the 1$ Kraft Mac n cheese. But for 25$??? Hello?? Some restaurants just got so comfortable with selling frozen / microwaved / kraft foods as “high quality restaurant meals”. It’s getting out of hand and if you wanna be safe I’d say go to an Asian restaurant, not North American style

One of the worst experiences I've had. Order (2 grab and go's plus bagel with cream cheese ) was taking long and asked for the coffees (15min) waited.. Another 20 min went by and I asked about my order.. Kitchen is open and I notice the obviously did not start it as the cook instantly threw the order on the grill.... Server came back with the bagel after a few min and said they were just finishing the order.. (no ownership..) Finally got the order after 60min.. Took it to my room and realized no Cream cheese on the begal and they put bacon on one sandwich I asked for no bacon.. Went back to get the cream cheese and noted about the bacon, but nothing other then a brief sorry.. No real ownership of the unhinged experience.

This place is not properly staffed. We came in - the only ones in line and the place wasn't even half full - and we were told they would seat us in a minute. 10 minutes go by, we flag someone down. The waitress says she can seat us but won't be able to come to our table for another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, there are 10 plates full of food in the kitchen waiting to be delivered to their tables, that had been there before we got there. To the owner of this location: get more staff! Especially during your breakfast window. Your waitresses are clearly overwhelmed and it's not fair to them.

My partner and I went to try their burger for Burger Bash. The other ones I wanted to go to were closed. It was a huge burger that I'm lucky was split in half. The homemade kettle chips were pretty good and the toragashi mayo was great. The burger is the Hali Menchi Katsu. It had tonkotsu sauce, tomatoes and purple cabbage. The bun has seaweed in it and smelled fishy but didn't taste too strong. I had their triple berry bulwark .4% cider and I was shocked that it was actually pretty good. I'm not much for alcoholic cider, so this might be something I would buy again.

Always a great atmosphere! Staff is always great. I'd put their nachos against any in town! Loaded with caramelized onions and bacon !! Great spot for a business meeting but it's downtown Halifax, parking is going to be an issue if you're looking for street parking. Parkade next door will let you get there via the Pedway though.

Stopped in for a light meal. Opted for a large bowl of the bouillabaisse with GF bread. Hubs had the Untypical Clubhouse with turkey and bacon on rye and a small bowl of cream chowder. Both were excellent. Our server, Sharon W, made great suggestions and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. Will definitely eat here again!

Slightly changing my impression from the other day. On my first visit (after about 8 years) I had a few disappointing burgers, but perhaps that can be chalked up to the Mondays. I spoke with Lauren (outlet manager) afterward from my room and she was genuinely amazing. I was invited back for a lunch which I didn’t think I’d be able to make, but with a flight delay took them up on last minute. The fried chicken sandwich the next day was amazing (and big enough for 2). Sometimes how the occasional bad experiences are handled make all the difference, and Lauren was impeccable. I’d certainly go back on my next trip.

Delicious Fish & Chips at Harbourstone in the Halifax Harbourfront Marriott. Fresh haddock in a light and crispy batter with amazing home cut fries. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Comfortable, relaxing atmosphere and friendly service. Also recommend the Seafood Pappardelle; great flavour and full of fresh seafood.

Redwood Grill in Halifax offers a simple concept of using the freshest ingredients to prepare carefully crafted meals. The restaurant prides itself on its great staff who prioritize guest satisfaction, creating an exceptional yet affordable dining experience in a warm and contemporary atmosphere. The kitchen is open to making meal modifications, allowing guests to customize their orders according to their preferences. The well-managed restaurant provides friendly service and delicious food, with options like truffle-infused dishes and mouthwatering beef paired with mashed potatoes.
We enjoyed our dinner at Redwood Grill. We went on a friday which is 50% off cocktails, they were pretty tasty. I ordered the Dave Matthew’s and my partner ordered the Paloma. They were both nice, but I wish my glass wasn’t so small. We ordered the beet and goat cheese salad to share, and it was fresh and delicious. I ordered the blackened salmon, and I really enjoyed it. The salmon was definitely the star of the plate, it was cooked beautifully. I liked the brown butter sauce and the cajun pickle on top but I would have liked a little bit more. The rice and veggies were good but as I would expect they were plain so I would have liked a little bit more sauce or flavour to add an extra oomph to the dish. I appreciated the lemon to squeeze. But yes, I did really enjoy it. My partner ordered the Haddock BLT and mash. It was great, I tried some and I thought it was really tasty. The service was good, we didn’t wait too long and the staff were nice. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, it started to pick up as we were leaving I think. It was clean and fairly quiet. I would definitely like to go back, I want to try some other things on the menu and enjoy more 50% off cocktails. I seen they had decent specials on other nights of the week as well. This restaurant isn’t far from where I live so I will likely be back. Overall we enjoyed our dinner at Redwood Grill.

I met up with a couple of friends here to give it a try. The food was decent. The service and atmosphere were both good. I had the Mushroom Truffle Chicken which tasted okay but it was quite dry, but I still ate it because I was hungry. My daughter had the seafood linguine which I tried and thought it was good. My wife had the Cajun chicken burger and didn't really care for it. The carrot cake was decent, but I have had a lot better. Overall, it was slightly better than mediocre experience when taking everything into account including cost. For the price of what you get I doubt I would return back if it was my choice. I can get a better value and quality of food for the same or less elsewhere.

We went for mussel Monday at about 6:30pm. Service was so slow the restaurant was not even half full. We got the crab dip to share three ways for $20 and this TINY little ramequin comes out… never in my life have I received any kind of spinach dip this small. Three of us had 1 serving of mussels (which was delicious) but then they said “sorry we’re out of all you can eat mussels”….. I expected some kind of discount to the all you can eat price to which they said no. They offered us another appetizer half price lol. Sorry no I’m not spending A CENT more. Eventually the server did do us a favour for a real discount but other wise it was a really disappointing experience from start to finish. We ended up going somewhere else for dinner afterwards.

This is our third time ordering takeout from this establishment. Once again, we were totally disappointed. The seafood fettuccine had two shrimp, three scallops and a small half claw of lobster. The same meal at the Bicycle Thief or Il Mercato is additional 3 dollars and loaded with seafood. For the fish and chip order…..the haddock was dry and there were less than a dozen French fries with Minimal condiments. Upon bringing our concerns to the attention of the establishment, we were advised there wasn’t anyone with authority or management experience to address our issues. Not worth the financial cost of the sub par food and poor customer service. Word of advice……walk across the street to Swiss Chalet or drive to Bayers lake where there is a plethora of wonderful eating establishments.

The eggs benedict and coffee were good as well as the service. One suggestion is to butter the english muffin so it’s not so dry. It didn’t seem like it was toasted either which was a bit different for me. The home fries were a little overcooked but they weren’t terrible. I probably won’t return for breakfast here but saw a couple of items on the dinner menu that I may try sometime.

Staff was great. Head a plate of the lobster salad, NY steak dinner, seafood chowder. The chowder was great, the person with steak enjoyed theirs and of course the lobster is always enjoyed. It came with potato salad which was just not for us. Everything else was good. I ordered too much as the chowder was an appetizer, and it was a big bowl! So they discounted my food sunset I barely touched it. Only charged me for the seafood pieces I ate. I didn't even ask so I'm very appreciative of the staff to offer that. Thank you so much.

First time there. I want to tell you that I'm in my late 50s .I had the maple burger. Best burger and garlic mashed potatoes I've had in my life. If there were more stars I would absolutely give it 10 out of 10. And my waitress Rachel was spot on. Definitely going back!

We have been here plenty of times for breakfast and supper and the food is great. But today they were busy and we waited for over 20 mins without even being given water or any indication we would be served. Extremely disappointed. We ended up leaving without breakfast.

Harbour City Bar and Grill is a stylish restaurant located in the Delta Halifax Hotel, offering a seasonal regional menu and a happy-hour selection. Despite some slow service on busier days, the portion sizes are good and the food is above average. The fried chicken burger could be improved with larger pieces of chicken, but the pasta and black bean burger are recommended for vegetarians. The steak and frites received high praise, while the fries were noted to be soft instead of crunchy.
I've been meaning to leave a review since eating here a few weeks ago -- the food was delicious, the service pleasant and attentive, and Chef Mohammed made my family and I feel very welcome by coming out to speak to us as we finished up our meal. I only regret that we couldn't come back to try some dishes he recommended, but we were in town for a hospital visit and our schedule didn't allow it. Highly recommended!

We went in after making a reservation on St. Patrick’s Day. Given it was a busier-than-usual day the service was a bit slow(understandable). The portion sizes were fine with the taste being above average. The fried chicken burger was fine although I wish it had one piece of fried chicken instead of few tiny ones as it would be easier to handle. The pasta and the black bean burger were a success and can be recommended for Vegetarian folks. Weirdly their fries were soft and not crunchy. The taste was fine though so not an issue. Highly recommend their Black Forest cake. The taste of Beep Brulee wasn’t something one of our friends expected but the staff was generous enough to replace her order for no extra charge. This was almost at their closing time(Appreciate this for sure). Their service is good and I’ll be sure to visit again someday to try rest of their menu.

Our service was fairly slow, even when they didn't look to be that busy. Really the only negative of an otherwise excellent dining experience. Everything tasted great!

I have enjoyed many meals here. Although the food is very good, especially the breakfast eggs Benedict, the service is why I enjoy going. They have some of the friendliest staff who take the time to get to know you. As a regular visitor, they already know my preferences and greet me like I’m visiting old friends.

This isn't your ordinary hotel restaurant! It's actually fire, the fish and chips were perfection, reasonably priced and a huge portion. Staff were super friendly and sweet. Would definitely come here to enjoy some seafood while staying in Halifax without the "tourist tax" like at the waterfront.

Kempers is a casual Canadian restaurant that offers breakfast-to-dinner dishes, as well as a bar and old-fashioned milkshakes. The food was delicious, with deep fried pickles, onion rings and mozzasticks on the burger I tried, along with some lettuce and tomato. Overall, the service was great - particularly from server Elizabeth - and I'll be back!
I tried their Black and Blue burger. I’m a big fan of ‘stinky’ blue cheese and felt this burger had just the right amount to taste it but not be overwhelming. I chose a baked potato but other options were there too. Service is always quick and friendly. I’ve been to this place multiple times and most of the time I’m shocked at how quickly the food comes out of the kitchen. Decor is pretty plain but the place is clean and spacious. It’s a family restaurant sort of feel, not fancy. Expect to pay about 15-20$ per plate. Lots of variety on the menu, boiled dinner, all day breakfast, liver and onions and of course regular pub fare too.
Alana D — Google review
Our experience wasn't very pleasant. While the service was okay, the quality of the food did not meet our expectations. As a family, we ordered the BBQ brisket Benedict, French toast, pancakes for both kids and adults, and a kids’ burger. Surprisingly, the fries and home fries were just frozen packages that were deep-fried and lacked seasoning. The brisket seemed to be from a Costco package, and the burger was also frozen. On a positive note, the pancakes were nice, and the adult portion size was substantial. The sausages and baked goods were just okay.

Just remember: it's a diner. You're getting Sysco meals. Don't have high expectations. There's salt and pepper on the tables for a reason: the food is cooked and minimally seasoned. Staff are pros. There is no atmosphere. There is no vibe. But you'll a get reasonably priced burger or sandwich.

I have been going here for many years now, still an amazing spot. Only thing I don't like is the fact they don't do milkshakes anymore under the new owners. So if your looking for a milkshake with your food, go elsewhere since they don't have them anymore. Other than that everything was great!

Pavia Gallery - Espresso Bar & Café in Herring Cove is a charming spot that offers a blend of art, coffee, and Italian-inspired cuisine. The gallery showcases works by local and international artists, while the café serves up top-notch coffee and house-made sweets. With its romantic Italian vibe, this establishment also functions as a restaurant, cafe, gallery, and grocery store. Visitors can indulge in fresh Italian-style dishes made from locally sourced ingredients or enjoy an impressive selection of savory deli items.
Pavia Gallery ~ Espresso Bar & Café at 995 Herring Cove Rd is a true gem in Herring Cove! This cozy spot offers amazing Italian espresso and incredible baked goods. I especially recommend the rosemary scones – they’re my absolute favorite, and I specifically come here for them. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing break or catching up with friends. Additionally, it’s also an art gallery featuring local artists, which adds a unique charm to the place. On the second floor, you’ll find the Herring Cove Counselling Centre, offering professional mental health support, as well as Kristen Scott Makeup, providing expert makeup services for any occasion. This place perfectly blends art, community care, and high-quality service. If you’re looking for great coffee, delicious pastries, and a cultural experience, definitely make sure to visit Pavia!

The staff member was lovely and the panini was well made with high-quality ingredients. Lots of good vegetarian options. The only downside is that portions are small considering the price - I enjoyed everything but was hungry again soon after. It would be great to include a small salad, soup, or even plain chips/fries to make it better value.

Very cute, charming cafe mostly specializing in coffee and small sandwiches. They've also got some scented items for sale along with a little art. Very clean coffee shop, great tea and clean bathrooms. Great for a quick stop.

Cute place up the road to grab coffee , tea, or a quick snack! They have a variety of goodies to choose from. You can also purchase breads, sauces and other eatables from this cafe. The owner is an artist, so you will see beautiful paintings hung in the cafe. I hear there is an art studio on the top floor. Lovely when covered in snow and awesome in summers with a beautiful view.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great café experience with a creative vibe. Will definitely be coming back!

My first time visiting this lovely cafe. I can’t say enough good things about it. The sandwiches were delicious and the baked goods were excellent but I have to say the best part of this shop was the COFFEE! By far the best brewed cup of coffee made to order that I have had in years. A lovely spot to unwind and we can’t wait to go back again!

A touch of class and comfort. This little cafe is something you would expect to see in an urban setting, but it a hidden gem on the Herring Cove Road. It is such a treat to stop here when you are going for a Sunday drive or visiting the area. My husband loves the ambiance and the food and coffees here. Service is usually good, and you can feel the community atmosphere in the cafe. Neighbours know their neighbours. A bit on the pricey side for a coffee shop though. The food they serve is the usual fare of cookies, sweets, and they do serve soups and sandwiches. The soups are very good and worth it I think, and the sandwiches are good, on the gourmet side, not your average sub-shop sandwich.

The Wired Monk, situated on Morris Street in Halifax, offers its own range of organic and fair trade coffee and espresso. The cafe's name is inspired by the legend of a monk who discovered coffee beans after his sheep ingested them, becoming lively as a result. The cafe has an old-fashioned ambiance that makes it a great place to relax and enjoy dessert. Visitors can also enjoy soft background music, free wifi, and exceptionally clean washrooms.
Definitely stop by this little gem while in Halifax! The coffee is delicious, iced chai was spit on and the almond croissant was devine! As a reviewer of almond croissants, there aren’t many places I’ll give 5 starts for this one particular item. However, in my opinion, this croissant is a winner! It isn’t too sweet, has the right amount of filling. The outside is flaky but not dry, and a good softness. 👌 Come early to get this item as it sells out fast!

The best coffee shop in Halifax! The coffee (and pastries) were spectacular. The staff is friendly and helpful - they went above and beyond to help out with a travel issue. The place is inviting, with a lot of locals - and not too close to the cruise ship terminal, so not a big line of tourists. We were ‘locals’ for the week, and plan to come back.

Breakfast sandwich is awful. Had the Chipotle version, the egg is like a soggy sponge, and yet the sandwich was dry. Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of South End, Mappatura Bistro is a charming little eatery that has become a beloved staple since its opening in 2016. Founded by Chef Terry Vassallo, who previously made waves at Lunenburg's Trattoria Della Nonna, and his wife Simone Mombourquette, this bistro offers an inviting atmosphere with a focus on Italian-inspired cuisine. The menu shines with hand-made pasta dishes that are always a hit among diners.
Amazing experience, food was fantastic, service was attentive and helpful - explaining dishes and providing suggestions. We felt very taken care of. Walking into this restaurant hearing many great things, it’s impressive to have high expectations exceeded, and that’s exactly what happened.
Molly N — Google review
I can’t believe I haven’t heard about this place sooner. I absolutely love Mappatura. The service, atmosphere, and food are all top notch. This is easily the best Italian I’ve had in the city, and even if it wasn't, the staff are so lovely I’d be happy to return any time. We had the perfectly crusty on the outside soft on the inside bread (which is from LF bakery), the perfect Caesar salad, the wildly delicious calamari (must try), and the equally delicious tagliatelle and carbonara for our mains. Also finished with the lemon tart, which has for me the perfect little crust that’s just enough. It’s hard to find a place like Mappatura which has such a great reputation that can both meet and exceed the expectations. I’ve found a new favourite and can’t wait to come back and continue exploring the menu. Extra shout out to the sincerely lovely staff there - it was such a genuinely warm, and welcoming atmosphere. Kudos on the exceptionally friendly and attentive service - it’s so rare these days and so greatly appreciated on a night out. We’ll be back soon.

Amazing! First, the service was so good. We went for a small girls night and our waiter understood everything we needed. She had a lot of knowledge about all the options on the menu. I had the lemon drop martini all night at her recommendation! The food was awesome. The calamari was my one of my favourites in Halifax. It stands out because it is saucy! The pasta (Tortelloni) was super creamy and packed with flavour! I’m still obsessed with vodka sauce so I love having it any chance I get. All the dessert were amazing! We all got a different one to be able to try. The lemon tart was my definitely my favourite! I would highly recommend!

The atmosphere was so nice in the food was absolutely incredible. It’s one of the best Italian restaurants at Halifax downtown. This is the closest thing that you will get. I ordered the Vongole little neck clam. The clams were so juicy and the coming out of it was sub-lime. My dad ordered the chicken and it was also so juicy the crispy bread on top was cooked to perfection. Nonalcoholic options and their Italian soda, which they make the syrup themselves is also so unique every single time. Overall for any occasion, whether you’re with your family friends are on a date night.
KAI Q — Google review
Cozy and bright little space. Went there as the sun was setting. Gorgeous natural light and they light candles as it darkens. The staff were very courteous and attentive. Best calamari I've ever had. The mocktails are delicious as well. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend took me out to a surprise dinner at Mappatura. We were given a wonderful greeting as we entered, offered a couple of tables to pick from and asked if we wanted our coats hanged. We were promptly asked if we wanted a drink, given the spritz special and meal of the day. We had the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and Caesar salad as an appetizer, which were both delicious. Then we were explained the wine by the glass and ordered our mains. The timing on everything service related was impeccable. We took the gnocchi and pasta a la vodka, both were absolutely gourmand. The service is some of the best in town, the food was stunning and the atmosphere perfect for a romantic date. I would recommend to anyone!!!

We just finished an incredible dinner at Mappatura. We were looking for some delicious Italian, off the beaten path and we found it! Menu was thoughtful and well put together. The space is cute, trendy and cozy but not stuffy at all. Our server Maggie was fantastic, attentive and helpful with not too much hovering, with some great suggestions when asked. The price isn’t cheap, but is standard for good food these days, and about what I expected based on the amount of food/drink we ordered. 10/10 would come again.

An excellent meal to finish our trip ! We were staying at The Muir and had been looking at Drift during our stay. On the final night, we decided to have a nice meal and wine to finish of our trip - and great hotel stay. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent, helping us to settle in and understand the menu. With some many recommendations, we decided to try a handful of options from the menu - from appetizers to mains. Everything was fresh, delicious and beautifully served - an elegant fine-dining feel while remaining very comfort and relaxed. The salmon on the bed of grains had to be my favourite, delicious ! Overall we enjoyed all of the dishes that we tried, can’t wait to go back and try more !

Decided to give this place a try for brunch, but didn't have reservations. Fortunately we were able to get in. Our table was right at the entrance, so the occasional blast of cold air when the door was opened, but not too bad overall. We were informed the food would take 30 min, but it came faster than that. Service was good, except they came to check on the first few bites before I had the chance to try it and I had to ask for a bill when we were clearly finished for some time. I had the burger which was delicious, but be prepared, it's not a light meal and with all that cheese it was quite greasy. Ended up using a knife and fork. Spiced fries were really good. My wife had the hipster toast, which she really liked. A sharper or serrated knife would be a good idea to bring with that meal, however as it was also challenging to eat . Very nice decor, with a view of the harbor from most tables.

We had breakfast at Drift. The ambiance and food was top notch. The salmon eggs Benedict completely blew our mind. The flavours were very rich and complex. We also ordered the Monte Cristo breakfast, which is a combined French toast and ham sandwich. The cappuccino also had a very rich flavour and it reminded me of a hot chocolate with extra dark chocolate! This also tastes very good. Everything from the presentation of the food, the ambiance, and the service was top notch.

Drift was easily one of the most memorable dinner spots during our time in Halifax and for good reason! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with a sleek modern/chic interior and a beautiful outdoor patio. We were lucky to be helped by the hostess (I forgot to get a name!), who was so kind and helpful in getting us the perfect outdoor seating. I kicked things off with the Purple Mist mocktail. The lavender x lemon flavour came through nicely and was refreshing. We were also kindly given a complimentary appetizer to start. I can’t remember exactly what it was, but it was a unique burst of flavours and textures. A bit sweet and salty, a touch of acidity (maybe umami?), and a hint of earthiness. A really fun way to start! The Maritime Oysters and Atlantic Salmon Tartare appetizers were beautifully plated, tasty, and fresh. For my main, I had the Nova Scotian Hodge Podge, and I absolutely loved it. Rich, comforting, and well seasoned—I nearly licked the bowl clean! The Pecan Butter Tart Sundae was the cherry on top. It was cold, nutty, buttery, fruity, and just the perfect sweet ending. Our server, Piper, was also seriously amazing. They were attentive, friendly, and professional, making the whole dining experience feel special from start to finish. If you’re looking for a refined dining spot in Halifax with great east coast food and top-tier service, Drift is a must-visit.

At 4:45 immediately greeted with a “We don’t serve food until 5:00pm”. Off to a bad impression from the start. I had the burger with the fries. The fries were good. The burger was very bland with no taste. I would recommend skipping that. Not sure what the gravy was…some kind of paste perhaps?!?! My wife had the wings. They were very dry. I tried one and the taste was something I’ve never tasted in chicken before. The ice water was warm…not sure how that happens. The Pepsi and the ketchup were the best part of the night.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere and decor are amazing. Very nice looking restaurant and very pleasant to eat there. And not noisy like some other popular restaurants around. The food was very good. The only reason I didn’t give full stars is because we felt that perhaps there could be a few more choices for entrées. Otherwise, great food, and we will be back.

Amazing service, ambiance and food! The lobster and shrimp cake is a must and you can’t sleep on their Maryann’s brown bread. The pork belly and scallops were also incredible and if you love a good cocktail you need to grab a drink. The margarita was perfect!

It was date night for my wife and I last week so we decided to try Drift and they didn’t disappoint. Beautiful location on the waterfront. The service was first rate and they offered us a free sample from their oyster menu once we sat down. I had the scallops and pork belly and my wife had their take on the jigs dinner. Both were absolutely delicious! We will definitely return on our next trip to Hali!

Bakery
LF Bakery is a delightful spot that offers a wide array of freshly baked pastries, loaves, and baguettes. Known for serving some of the best croissants in the city, this local gem was awarded as Halifax's Best Bakery. The menu features an assortment of delectable treats such as beignets, milk buns, tartelettes, and various croissants.
LF Bakery is a cozy gem! We had amazing coffee and some of the best croissants we’ve ever tasted. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, perfect spot for a relaxing treat.

I usually carry my own ceramic or glass tumbler because I care about the environment and my health. When I ordered, I said I wanted my bread to go, but my coffee and tea to stay. However, the same male staff member with tied dark-blond hair who both took my order and made the drinks had already poured my drinks into disposable paper cups. At first, I thought those drinks weren’t mine, but they turned out to be. When I asked for mugs, he transferred the drinks from the paper cups into them. By that time, the paper cups had already become waste, and my hot coffee and tea had already been sitting in those paper cups long enough for chemicals to leach out. I normally carry a ceramic or glass tumbler and request “to stay” to avoid disposable waste and exposure to harmful substances, so this situation was utterly absurd and frustrating. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy like latte art. I just wanted to start my morning pleasantly with good coffee, but this experience left me really disappointed. If you visit this café, I recommend getting service from the other male staff member, the one with short(he is always kind), dark hair or women, not the one with tied dark blond hair.

An amazing spot, make incredible by its PHENOMENAL food. Truly the BEST sourdough and BEST croissant I’ve ever had. The only downside is the irregular hours: it seems like they close early often, because I’ve shown up twice before during “regular” hours and the shop was closed. But this makes it even more exciting when you can get here because it’s that much more special. Recommend ten times over!

Nice place to have breakfast. We tried the almond croissant and the ham and cheese croissant. The almond croissant was a little overbaked. Other than that, everything else was good.

Oh LF, I love you so. Please come to Dartmouth. Fresh bread, good coffee, huge rotating selection of treats. You need a home in Dartmouth. This place is Loud, but I think you have to be cognizant that this is a working bakery. Please help us. They’re not usually open on Mondays and they usually take a week off around Christmas and summer, which is well deserved. I’ve never had the sandwiches, but looking at the display case for 10-12 bucks look unreal. Lots of marginalized people in the area, usually try buy something extra to give somebody on the way out. Kindness counts.

Nice little bakery cafe. The bakery seems very busy! We got a loaf of white bread, which was fresh and had great texture, but was missing something (maybe salt?). We also had coffees and treats while we were there. Excellent Americano and a very good croissant. Will go back to try more baked goods.
Shawn C — Google review
The cardamom iced latte was good but the blueberry tart was underwhelming & the vanilla custard wasn’t flaky it was soggy and the custard had an egg taste that we didn’t enjoy.

Easily one of the best bakeries in Atlantic Canada. Definitely top three, I haven't been everywhere so I can't rule out some dark horse from some random corner, but these guys are top notch. Croissant is good as you'll get in Paris, and I've been there and done that! Get up early and get down there for when they open at 7:30 and the smell of fresh baked baguettes and other deliciousness will transport you to heaven!

Uncommon Grounds is a trendy coffee bar with a cool atmosphere that offers small-batch roasted coffee, light fare, and house-baked goods. It's part of the Uncommon Group, which focuses on selling local products at affordable prices. The establishment has outdoor patios at its locations on South Park Street and in the Public Gardens, providing a great setting to enjoy their offerings.
Uncommon Grounds is one of my favorite coffee spots in Halifax. The coffee is always fresh and flavorful, and they have a great selection of baked goods to go with it. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it a perfect place to sit down or grab something to go. Consistently excellent every time I visit.

This place has become my go to place to come and read or work on my laptop, lots of table space good wifi and they play good music too. The food and drinks are really great too- although sometimes the hot drinks are a little too hot. The service is really great too, super friendly people.

An interesting space for gathering and eating. Lots of space and fairly well lit given its partially subterranean location. Staff were very friendly and there was a large assortment of food and drinks. Didn’t get a chance to try anything to eat but looked interesting.

This place is a little slice of heaven. The espresso is bold without being bitter, and the baristas genuinely love what they do — you can taste it in every cup. I could spend hours here reading or just people-watching. Highly recommend the lavender latte!

Restaurant
Café Lunette, a charming new addition to Halifax's culinary scene, is making waves as one of Nova Scotia's top brunch spots. This Parisian-inspired eatery seamlessly transitions from a cozy café during the day to an elegant bistro by night. Guests can indulge in a delightful array of classic French dishes, such as hearty boeuf bourguignon and flavorful seafood bouillabaisse.
If you appreciate french cuisine, and a pretty aesthetic, don’t miss an opportunity to savour an experience here - either outside on their patio with salty air and views of the sea, or inside their cozy space. Their brunch menu is divine - and espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos etc) are excellent. In the afternoons- catch their Happy hr before 6 pm, which has excellent deals (like a glass of bubbly with frites for $10-) and their main menu is excellent- French onion soup, salads, beef bourguignon on pommes alicot, etc. And with the best crème brûlée ever? Say no more…
Sue H — Google review
Café Lunette was a lovely dinner spot during our time in Halifax. The interior itself was stunning, elegant, and chic. Overall, a beautiful place to enjoy a meal. We started with the Steak Tartare and French Onion Soup, both of which were delicious. The portion sizes were also just right and everything was seasoned nicely. For my main, I went with the French Onion Burger. I liked the concept and was excited to see how they’d bring their signature soup flavour into a burger format. The meal was pretty solid, but it didn’t really capture the same magic as the soup we had. The fries were a touch salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. We were served by David throughout, who was friendly and professional. We definitely felt taken care of from start to finish! Overall, Café Lunette is a pretty spot near the harbourfont with great service and nice French-inspired dishes.

I came with my family for brunch. The place is beautiful, the service was ok, and the food was nice. The four breakfasts were delicious. I have only two complaints, first I asked for a Mimosa and the amount of prosecco is very small, I corroborated it when I saw how it was prepared for another table. Second, the waiter tried a few times to avoid our table. I am not a brunch person, but the experience was nice.
Juan M — Google review
Beautiful place! The food was great, ordered the 2 course for $41 French onion soup and steak frites. The fries were delicious as they are fried in duck fat and the dip was so good too. I was only disappointed with the baguette…. It was too small. Sliced fresh baguette would be better than these hard mini ones that you can barely butter. And the star of the show is the butter for the baguette in my view! Would love to come back. Also my friend got the Cherry Sour cocktail and that was beautiful and delicious also. Well done. Too full to try dessert. We came for a birthday and the server was kind enough to spilt the bills for us to pay for our guest. They even gifted our friend macarons for her birthday at the end! We loved our experience here. Thank you.
Marie-Claire T — Google review
Wow!! What a wonderful place. We enjoyed their happy hour food: beef tartare, oysters, French onion fries and cocktails. Delicious 😋 The decor is amazing. The place feels fresh and cozy. Service was A+. Will be back for sure on our next visit to Halifax.
Joanne H — Google review
This was the best experience my husband and I have had for breakfast, and possibly ever. We were just visiting for the afternoon and wanted something simple and to have a nice seat. This cafe did not disappoint. The environment was absolutely adorable!! Everything meshed so perfect down to the baristas striped shirts. My husband experienced the best roast beef sandwich of his life and almost a week later, has told over five people. Unfortunately, we will likely never be back due to only being there traveling but I can not recommend enough. We will remember forever.
Andrea G — Google review
Went here for evening desserts, here’s what we ordered: - crème brûlée - was pretty good - golden chai latte - had too much spices my sister couldn’t drink it - mezcal sunrise mocktail - was good but I guess mezcal is just not my cup of tea - dacquoise - pretty mid - banana eclair - pretty good. Overall, it’s a beautiful spot for pickmes like my sister Mariia and I, but the desserts and drinks were quite mid. I feel like for this price & kind of spot I would expect something more tender and sophisticated than this. So it felt quite pretentious like 90% of restaurants on the waterfront I feel like Pane e Circo is a good example of a nice chic cafe that is not pretending to be what it’s not, and the food& drinks are actually supreme. Anyways, it was ok, but we wouldn’t come back
Daria H — Google review
Visited this restaurant with my family and my dear sister Daria. It’s pretty, however, lights are kinda dark so you most likely won’t get any pretty pictures from it. The desserts were okay, I especially liked the cream brûlée, but for its price of 12 CAD there was objectively very little of dessert. The drinks are a different story. I ordered a golden chai latte, and although I was well aware it is a spicy drink with a lot of cinnamon and other spices, I could not drink it. There were too many spices that I got the impression that they stupidly put two tablespoons of cinnamon and a bunch of other spices. It was too much and I drank water for the rest of the evening instead of the drink I ordered. The waiters were not very nice, it almost felt like they didn’t really care about the customers and didn’t even try to hide it. Overall, this place is quite overpriced and isn’t worth it. Although, if you want to check your date for stinginess, please, go for it.

Amazing sandwich and such a friendly environment. Also, I wanted to buy some coffee grounds, but the machine wasn’t quite ready to go (I arrived early), and they gave me a free little bag of coffee grounds to tie-me-over until it was ready. Incredibly kind.

It's alright. It would be great to have more breakfast options but in all honesty it is not specifically a breakfast place. The coffee is good, they also serve beer, the ambiance is nice and the prices are quite reasonable. Located inside the Theater Lofts.

Bar Sofia is a vibrant gem nestled in the heart of the Queens Marque District, where classic elegance meets lively Latin flair. The atmosphere evokes a bohemian neighborhood filled with art galleries and late-night bars, making it an ideal spot for those seeking both culinary delights and visual inspiration.
The vibes and decor are 10/10. The good news: the food is also 10/10. We had the Brussel sprouts and cod tacos. The guacamole and chips were unbelievable. The churros were my least favorite but still pretty good. Service was great. The place was full but we didn't have long wait times. Overall a great experience and would go back again.

came here by myself on a Saturday night and was able to make a last minute reservation. Every single staff member is kind and attentive to service. I felt incredibly well taken care of. I ordered a noche de tia, with the elotes and the mushroom birria tacos. 💯 food was served very quickly. My sole “complaint” is that I think glassware should be a little cleaner, but it didn’t alter my overall experience.
Eleanor B — Google review
Everything we ordered tasted very fresh and made with care. Not one of those places that just deep fries or microwaves the best that Sysco can sell. Service was quick and our guac came within a couple minutes of being ordered. We tried a couple different tacos and they were all fantastic but if you’re very hungry you will have to order a bunch of different plates ($$$) or go hit up cows for some dessert ($$) to feel full. The drinks from the bar are very quick (which we loved) but a warning that the music is kept at a very…energetic…volume and it might be hard to hear your dining companion(s).

If you love, like or want a margarita get your bottom over here! Bar sofia has one of the best margaritas Halifax has to offer, they nailed the spicy to fun ratio. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant pays homage to different latin cultures beautifully with their fusion of foods such as the bravas Brussel sprouts. We had a hard time deciding what to order as everything sounded spectacular! We only tried appies for food, they were yummy, however the toppings for most the appies we got are around the same. The atmosphere is fun and colourful, right at the heart of the new waterfront. This restaurant is in the waterfront so there is parking nearby in the big lots. You might just have to walk a little bit. Plenty of sitting inside and in their patio!

The food was all DELICIOUS. The guacamole was the freshest we’ve ever had. The service was amazing, everyone who waited on us was beyond fantastic. The place is amazingly decorated and nice music as well, however I got a really long hair in my food. And the waitress was salty about it . When I showed it to the waitress she seems more annoyed than apologetic. She first asked me if it was there before? (For context I have a buzz cut so basically no hair, specifically not long and I was wearing a hat. ) Then she asked me- “so do you want a dessert or something?” I was like- eeeh no thanks, I’m grossed out at this point, I would like the check please.

The Bread Lounge Bakery is a vegan-friendly cafe and bakery offering a variety of plant-based options, including sandwiches, croissants, cupcakes, and cakes. While they have limited vegan baked goods, their veggie pesto bocconcini and vegan hummus sandwiches come highly recommended for those seeking savory plant-based meals. In addition to their delicious baked goods, the bakery also serves vegan soft serve during the summer months.
This gorgeous gem of a business is tucked away off Robie. Their food is excellent, and I was struck by the breadth of their menu, which included coffee drinks, sandwiches, pastries, and desserts. The cherry on top were their sandwich deals: I paid $14 (before tip!) for a pastry, latte, and sandwich. I can’t recommend them enough, my partner and I had a lovely time.

Their savory danishes are my top choice! They have limited cafe drink options, but have the staples. And that's OK cus the pastries and lunch combos are the stars of the show. I have always found seating for at least 2 people between 10 and 12, and 2 and 4pm without issue. So a great meeting place for catching up with friends, colleagues, or clients. May you be blessed with the timing of visiting them while they are baking chocolate cakes. That aroma!

I got a Vanilla Strawberry cake from The Bread Lounge for Mother’s Day, and it was a total hit! All the moms absolutely loved it—the flavor was light, fresh, and just the right amount of sweet. Everyone kept asking where the cake was from! It looked beautiful too, perfect for the occasion. Definitely going back to The Bread Lounge for our next celebration.

I recently had the pleasure of having the Vanilla Strawberry cake. The icing on the cake was a smooth, whipped vanilla buttercream. The cake itself was light and fluffy, with a classic vanilla flavor and not overly sweet. The cake contained a generous filling of strawberry compote - bright, slightly tart, and bursting with real fruit flavor. Visually, it was just as appealing, with a soft pink tone. This made it a perfect centerpiece for our Mother's Day celebration. Overall, this Vanilla Strawberry cake was a wonderful blend of simplicity and elegance.

Excellent bakery we love going there as a family treat! Stepping into this bakery feels like walking into a warm, sunlit haven, where the aroma of freshly baked pastries wraps around you like a cozy blanket. The gleaming displays present each croissant, tart, and bun like treasures, making it impossible to choose just one. Every bite is a revelation—the croissant is delicately crisp with buttery layers, and the medjool-date butterscotch bun is pure indulgence. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between charm and elegance, encouraging you to linger over coffee and conversation. Staff greet you with genuine warmth and knowledge, making you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a customer. From the food to the ambiance to the service, this bakery delivers an experience that stays with you long after the last crumb.

I ordered a cake for my birthday, and it turned out even better than I imagined. The bakery followed all of my requests so carefully, and the result was exactly what I wanted – both in taste and design. It was not only stunning to look at but also incredibly delicious. Thank you so much – I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending you to everyone I know!🩷🩷🩷🩷

Great place to go for a delicious sandwich. I normally take my lunch to work but today was an exception. I had a simple chicken salad on lovely multigrain bread. It cost a little more than the (outdated, perhaps?) menu online. With the cost of food these days, I thought it was great quality and value for around $7.75 before tax. Staff aren’t in a hurry - that’s not a bad thing. If you are going for take out allow yourself a few extra minutes to get through the line and have your item prepared. Yum!

This is my go-to spot when I head into the office. I usually stop by first thing in the morning for a coffee and a muffin. They don’t open until 8, and I do wish they opened a bit earlier (around 7:30), but otherwise it’s a cute spot with limited seating. The coffee, muffins, and sandwiches are all great, and the staff are always so friendly.

I would call this place an example of a small cozy café with pleasant unobtrusive music that suits the place, and with tasty coffee menu. We ordered Americano Misto & Cafe Au Lait. Two different muffins(berry) & two cookies(chocolate, caramel-ginger). Cookies were normal but I really liked muffins more. Much more, they were very tasty and soft. And I really liked their coffee, I tried both. In addition, in the second menu there are many different options to eat, we did not order fool food here, but when the cook was preparing something, I smelled a very pleasant smell, something between cheese and caramel. Although I prefer to constantly find new places, I will definitely return here from time to time. And I advise you to do the same.

Wendy's is a popular fast-food burger chain known for its sides like chili and baked potatoes. The dine-in experience offers a spicy chicken meal with a crispy and sleek burger patty, though some may not prefer the potato peel on the fries. The refillable fountain drinks provide seven options, and the seating arrangement is spacious, although cleanliness in the washroom could be improved.
I have visited this fast food chain several times in different places and have never been disappointed. Especially with their cool machine with refilling drinks.

Focusing on their service, I really like the senior man who I usually met when I ordered on weekends. His service is above average I could give 5 stars, but the other staffs'services who I met during weekdays evening were below average. They didn't say simple words to the customers when we come and leave or during taking the orders. I would't go there during the week if my kids don't ask for it since I don't enjoy the services and atmosphere.

No photos, but the older gentleman with a white beard " doing cash" at your Quinpool road store, did a great job serving me! He was professional, bright, friendly and had just the right amount of warmth and caring in his voice. I just ordered a Dave Burger and it came in a short amount of time. It was hot, tasted good and I was impressed with that too! FYI the other staff were very friendly, and the restaurant was clean!!!

Ordered a bacon egg and cheese biscuit (yes that is the name of the item and also a comprehensive list of the ingredients) and not only did it take forever but I was given a bacon egg and cheese English muffin. That’s not a problem because it’s an easy fix however when I politely told the employee that it was meant to be a biscuit (I ordered through the app so there was proof) she looked at me like I had two heads. I had to tell the employee the difference between an English muffin and biscuit and then when given the new sandwich it was missing the bacon (the first ingredient in the name). After I had sat back down, I was then given a dish with three pieces of cold bacon and assembled the sandwich myself. Last time I checked Wendy’s pays the employees to make the sandwich not the customers. Wish they would’ve given me my money back or even a coupon, but now I feel entitled to a paycheck. #unpaidchef

One of the best sandwiches in town. Serve as order as they promise. Always need to wait up minutes for your sandwiches and fires. But they definately worth the wait. One thing quite confusing is people here ask for sandwiches as single.

Decent Wendy's. The staff are always great and the food is what I expect from Wendy's. I did have to rate only 3 stars for the dining area since everytime I have gone, it is always messy, the tables are not clean, the garbages are full. I will say though, it is always so busy when I have gone but they should have someone do a quick walkthrough, cleanliness is important in the food industry!

The Prince George Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia offers stylish rooms and upscale amenities including an on-site restaurant, meeting rooms, and a pool. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of other hotels in the area. One standout feature is the availability of two different buffet options at their restaurant. Additionally, the hotel is pet-friendly and provides amenities for four-legged guests, making it a welcoming choice for travelers with pets.
Granted the hotel was very busy when we went. However the rooms were very clean and spacious. The pool was warm, clean and lovely. The sauna was clean and nicely done. The hot tub well maintained. Location was excellent, and only a short walk to great local sites. The breakfast buffet was good value for the cost. The parking was easy. Staff was approachable and eager to help.

My husband, dog and I stayed here for our first time in Halifax. This hotel is absolutely wonderful. The staff are insanely professional and polite and the atmosphere is lovely. Patrick, who was phenomenal, checked us in and gave us a complimentary upgrade and a present for our dog (she was thrilled). Our room was clean and the view was great. We were also given two complimentary breakfast buffet cards—and that was delicious. We LOVED our stay and cannot wait to come back!

I’ve had the privilege of staying in some of the world’s most luxurious and high-end hotels, yet Prince George Hotel stands out as one of the finest experiences I've ever had. What truly sets it apart is the exceptional service and professionalism of the staff. Every team member is remarkably courteous, attentive, and communicates with genuine warmth and clarity. It’s evident that they go above and beyond to ensure every guest has a memorable and seamless stay. The rooms are immaculate, generously spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with all the modern amenities one could need. From start to finish, my stay was nothing short of outstanding.

My wife and I stayed at Prince George Hotel for 4 nights during our trip to Halifax and absolutely loved the hotel! The room we reserved looked exactly like the photos online. The hotel was extremely clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. I requested for a microwave because I needed to use hot compress on my eyelids daily to treat dry eyes, and they provided one without extra cost, which I really appreciated! We were especially impressed by the made-to-order cookies in their in-room food menu. We ordered some cookies, which were made from scratch and delivered to us still warm. The location of the hotel was extremely convenient as well, just steps away from the citadel and all the great restaurants. We will definitely be choosing Prince George Hotel when we visit Halifax again.

Excellent hotel. Great staff. Nice room, more like a suite. Maid service even left a written "thank you" for each daily tip. Shower was big enough for a small dance party. Jetted tub was huge, as well. Valet was quick and easy. Morning breakfast buffet, although repetitive, was very good.

My wife and I arrived at the hotel late evening following our flight from the U.K. and were warmly welcomed, and to our delight, upgraded to a suite with complementary breakfast for our two night stay. The hotel is well appointed and spotlessly clean and all the staff we encountered were polite, professional and friendly. There is secure parking beneath the hotel. The hotel is also ideally situated for easy walking to the waterfront bars and restaurants. Highly recommend. 👌🏻

This is a great hotel. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was attractive, well-equipped, and spotless. The hotel had two small but important features that distinguish caring hotels from indifferent ones: the bathroom had a nightlight, so you don't have to blind yourself when you get up in the night, and the room had plenty of conveniently placed USB outlets for charging devices. The hotel is in a great location in downtown Halifax. I'd certainly stay there again.
Phil C — Google review
I had an impressive stay at the Prince George Hotel. My executive suite was very spacious, relatively updated, had a great spa-like bathroom and was very clean. The suite views were also impressive, considering that I was only on the 4th floor. The hotel's front desk team were friendly, professional and attentive, Paige was particularly friendly and helpful with my stay. The hotel is quint yet charming, has all the conveniences that one would want with a great central location to everything within easy walking distance...so many great restaurants and amazing cafes nearby! Breakfast was also impressive, fresh and had a bountiful selection. Service was also excellent and attentive. The bar and outdoor terrace was also nice, great drinks and snacks (service was friendly yet pretty slow). Some of the lobby furniture needs updating, elevators were slow, pool and hallways really needs updating, as they were showing their age (room hallways — are badly dated and smelled musty). The hotel also really needs to add a doorman (especially during busy seasons), and key access to the room floors for guests privacy/security! The hotel also backs onto a very busy "party" street, so be sure to know that rooms facing that side of the hotel can get pretty loud with street / pedestrian noises late into the night. Otherwise, I had a terrific, pretty much flawless stay that exceeded my expectations.

Pür & Simple is a popular brunch spot that can get quite busy and noisy, but the food and service make it worth the visit. The portions are generous and visually appealing. Customers praise the delicious food, excellent service, and pleasant atmosphere. Some recommend trying their specialty lattes. Despite being busy, the staff remains patient and kind even during hectic times. While it can get loud at times, it doesn't take away from the overall dining experience.
My wife and I live not far away. We had a first visit and we're really pleased with all aspects of our time there at about 11am. I had the "Smash Burger", my wife an omelet. All food was hot, tasty, exceedingly well presented and good value. My wife also had a huge, excellent cup of latte. Service from Tina was delightful. When my wife's latte was finished Tina offered her a coffee top up. What a thoughtful touch! We were also impressed that all food was served on nicely warmed plates without being asked. Washrooms were immaculate. We will return. Great job, Pur and Simple.

Had such a great breakfast at Pure and Simple with my gals ! I ordered Riri’s Coconut Crunch and wow !! it did not disappoint. Super crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, with bananas, blueberries, and the perfect hint of coconut. So good! The vibe was chill, the service was lovely, and we left full and happy. Can’t wait to come back!

I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible service we received this morning from Amanda. She truly went above and beyond, and I feel she deserves the highest praise. When we were first seated, no one had approached our table for about 25 minutes. Amanda, who was not even assigned to our table, noticed this, immediately came over, apologized sincerely, and took ownership of our experience on top of managing her own busy section. From that moment on, she turned what could have been a frustrating visit into a genuinely positive one. Amanda rushed our food to make up for the delay, made sure we had everything we needed, and when part of our order was missing (our eggs and toast), she quickly and proactively resolved the issue without hesitation. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and proactive approach were remarkable. Beyond her efficiency, Amanda impressed us with her warm, charismatic attitude and unwaveringly positive demeanor. She handled the situation with such grace and work ethic that it completely shifted our experience for the better. Please extend our deepest appreciation to Amanda. She is a true asset to your team, and her efforts absolutely deserve recognition. Employees like her are the reason guests remember and return.

My first time at the restaurant. My cousin and I had a great experience. For breakfast i got the explosion, it was delicious. I'm very picky with my eggs and french toast and when I asked them for both to be well done they did exactly that. It was a huge portion and I put a major dent in it. It was presented beautifully and our server Carly was phenomenal. She was very pleasant and friendly. Coffee was great too.

So good! I had the (already) gluten free crepe and fruits And the keto breakfast 10/10 The crepe was huge and full of fruit. Blueberries, strawberries, bananas, pineapples, grapes, kiwis!!! Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. Cindy was an awesome server :) Pricey but I definitely feel like we got our money’s worth! If I lived in the area I’d be a regular. Potatoes are made in a shared fryer so I didn’t get to try those.

First time visit for us. 2 adults, one toddler, $97.00. The food is really good, they have a kitchen that knows whats they're doing. Wait time is low and quality, attention to detai is good. Order was accurate. The atmosphere is very open, bright and loud. The music made me feel like I was in a domician buffet, I enjoyed it but it felt odd for the time of day and where we were. Where this place fell off was the service. Bare minimum, get you in and get you out. We had a few different types of drinks, smoothies, coffee, teas, side dishes etc.. multiple buss employees walked by empty handed and looked at out table piling with dishes, as did the server(s). It was annoying because if youre going to charge what they do for breakfast I believe there is a level of service that should follow. We were not asked about anything else between receiving food and paying for it. Our boy had the rainbow pancakes. Maybe our fault for not asking, but they put a lot of food dye in each pancake for color. He cant eat that stuff, we kindly mentioned that to the server once she came with the bill. (We were hoping to address it eariler but we never had the chance). The server shrugged it off and asked if we wanted a take out container. Not the resolution I was expecting but nothing was said further. Like I said, bare minimum service, get you in and get you out. Expensive, food is good. This would of been a five star review if they relaxed the music, mentioned the food dye on the childerns menu and if service was more attentive. I would come back and try it again, and will update the review if we do.

This is a wonderful breakfast place. Delicious good. The Chicago eggs Benedict is amazing and the hash potatoes are incredibly addictive! Pancakes are huge and delicious. Hobson Lake Cafe is a charming family-owned eatery known for its emphasis on serving wholesome and delectable breakfast fare. The cafe prides itself on using fresh ingredients to create a nourishing and flavorsome dining experience. Visitors rave about the incredible quality of food, reasonable prices, and warm atmosphere that makes them feel right at home. Despite being a bit off the beaten path, this hidden gem offers an excellent all-day breakfast with options like gluten-free toast and even provides EV charging facilities.
My roommate and I stopped in here on a whim, and it was incredible. Good prices, incredible quality food, and just an overall wonderful experience. I got the breakfast plate, and everything was delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. I ended up getting some of the daily special, Mac and cheese, to go. The one serving us told us that she doesn't serve anything that she wouldn't serve her own children. A bit out of the way for public transit, but absolutely worth stopping in. I plan to return the next time I'm in the area.

My wife and I enjoyed a late lunch, she having chicken shish kabob with Greek potatoes and salad ($20.99) while I had liver, bacon and onions with mashed potatoes, vegetables and gravy ($15.99). Our experiences in this dinner have always been first rate, hence we are regulars.

There is many restaurants in Halifax and my mom decided to go with this one and she definitely picked a good choice, as soon as I walked in the server said I looked like Angus Young from AC/DC which was quite a good laugh. 😂 The food was excellent and I don't have one complaint. The Chicken Parm, Spaghetti and Garlic Bread were on point. I will definitely be visiting again next time I come into Halifax!

Standard breakfast fare, in a typical breakfast joint. Server was great, quick, friendly and efficient. The place was clean, a bit dated but in good repair. It's a good size the main dining areas wasn't busy, but they had a party of 12 in the back room... The food was hit and miss. Home fries, eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles were all good. Breakfast andwich was substandard, ordered with bacon, came with ham, for $7 it should have real cheese, not a Craft single, and the English muffin was held near the toaster on its way to the microwave (gross), soggy. Side order of baked beans were not baked, or fully cooked in any way, also served cold (removed from the bill, at our request). Not the worst breakfast ever, but I doubt I'll go back. I guess there's only one place to eat....
Colin C — Google review
If you’re looking for a hearty dinner with a combination of pastas and seafood selections this is a great spot. It’s that old family restaurant type feel. Unfortunately when we walked in no one was there to greet us. The women at the counter remained on the phone and kept her head down. I asked if we should seat ourselves or stand and look around. The feeling of being an inconvenience in someone’s day. Luckily the waitress whom came to our table after we seated ourselves saved our impression with a kind smile. The menu has a number of selections depending on your appetite or what you fancy. We ordered a few different things off the menu each to meet our taste buds. The food was alright the saying, “you get what you paid for.” would come to mind. The clams were a hit in the way they were prepared and definitely what we were looking for. The fish and chips were more oil and batter, having to play hide and seek to find the fish within the batter. The end result was it was filling, and a hit and miss. Sadly the smell of oil as you leave stays on your clothes and you are reminder of your dinner. Not being from then area i guess one could say it was a free souvenir.

We come to this location a lot. It’s close. Most of the time the place is fine. So why the mediocre review? For whatever reason, for years, they have not had reliably hot coffee. Sometimes it’s perfectly fine, but other times it’s lukewarm at best. We’ll just ask for a new coffee and staff are always fine with this. We have been told this is a machine issue but this is going on years now. Have never seen this at any other Starbucks location and hopefully they can get this fixed.

I’ve been going there for long time but for the past year, I always ended up disappointed after every visit. Unfortunately, the quality of the food keeps dropping and dropping. There is no taste at all and their potatoes are cold and not fully cooked . Even the presentation of the food makes me lose appetite 😅 Their customer service is still good but it’s pointless when they serve you low quality food.

We wanted breakfast but their was limited restaurants for choosing. We selected Cora based on pics and reviews. It turns out we should Never believe pictures or reviews. We ordered ham Benedict and Theo skillet. The English muffin on the Benedict was so deflated and chewy. It didn’t have a crispiness that you typically expect. It just wasn’t good. The skillet was just store fried veggies underneath some scrambled eggs. The skillet was just bad. My wife ended up eating just the eggs abs left the rest. I would not recommend breakfast here.

The server was a lovely lady but she was the only person working in a very busy morning at the restaurant which caused delays in service. I live right next door to Trident. I pop over for coffee every once and a while and enjoy taking my laptop over to get some work done. I’ve always had a great experience and love their coffee. I’ve bought their coffee grounds too and they’re great! The reason I wanted to leave a review tonight, is to thank the gentleman who was working the evening shift today. I unfortunately had some car issues and broke down directly in front of the cafe. After having some rather unpleasant interactions with some bikers who voiced their frustration regarding the inconvenience my car breaking down caused them, I was really upset. The person working came out to check on me and make sure I was okay. He offered me some coffee or water and told me to come inside if I needed anything at all. I really appreciated this kindness and compassion during a stressful time. Not only is their coffee fantastic, but the human decency and willingness to help me was truly appreciated. I will certainly be directing all of my coffee business to Trident. Thank you for your kind and very awesome staff!

Sometimes even the most wonderful place can be overshadowed by the way the staff interact with guests. That’s why it’s important for me to share my point of view in the hope of making a positive change. The coffee and pastries are exquisite, the atmosphere is 10/10. However, today my husband touched the bottom of a cup resting on the coffee machine, after which he was scolded and shamed by a staff member. I completely understand the importance of hygiene rules, but I believe such matters can be communicated to guests in a more respectful manner. This would help preserve the lovely atmosphere that makes this place so special. We look forward to coming back and hope our next visit will be as perfect as your coffee.

A supremely cozy spot to study or work. It's a quieter cafe for sure, with lots of books to read while you're there. Modest selection of drinks and baked goods but quite yummy. Trident's atmosphere is really what's 10/10, and worth making the trip for if you're not downtown. Also, god bless that they are open till 9pm, we desperately need some more night time coffee shops, and these hours are greatly appreciated!!

The Daily Grind Cafe & Bar, located in Bishops Landing on Lower Water Street in Halifax, is a unique hybrid of a bar, bistro, and cafe. Established in 2017 by Scott Maclean and David Flemming, it serves as a space to showcase local artists' work and also hosts events such as business meetings and parties. During the day, visitors can enjoy delicious espresso drinks made with local ingredients while savoring homemade food.
Despite its fast-paced name, THE DAILY GRIND offers a surprisingly calm and cozy atmosphere—quite the opposite of what you’d expect. I originally thought it would be a quick in-and-out spot like in New York, but it turned out to be a relaxing retreat where you can truly enjoy you the view, your food, coffee, and good company. Espresso Experience: Their basic espresso is a double shot —— a rare treat compared to most cafés that default to a single shot. It’s bold, rich, and perfect for coffee lovers. Wholesome Snacks: The oatmeal balls are a must-try! Healthy, delicious, and satisfying. Variety of Meals: They serve an impressive selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic Croissandwich, a Chipotle Chicken Wrap, or something sweet with your coffee, you’ll find it here. Ambience: The Daily Grind has a homey character and the pet-friendly patio by the waterfront makes it a great place to unwind. Overall: A gem in Halifax for those seeking comfort, flavor, and good vibes offering great service. #TheDailyGrindHalifax #HalifaxEats #NovaScotiaCafes #HalifaxCoffeeCulture #LocalEatsNS #EspressoLovers #HalifaxFoodie #CoffeeAndVibes #HalifaxViews #PetFriendlyPatio #ArtInHalifax #BreakfastAllDay #CaféCultureNS #SupportLocalHalifax #FoodieFindsCanada

This place is really nice and the staff were very friendly. The decor makes it feel cozy and well air conditioned. Though the clubhouse wasn’t really worth it for the wait especially for a to go order; other people who ordered a while after us seemed to get priority. I understand when a kitchen is short staffed however it just wasn’t a new favourite.

Extremely happy with this spot. I'm a crew member from one of the ships that docks in Halifax and having somewhere this nice just to chill and have a brunch it's just amazing. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Very good price, plus the service is very fast and the place is really cozy 😍🍁

This coffee shop is really cute. I love the decoration and ambiance of this place. I ordered a burrito breakfast (eggs and veggies with chipotle sauce), it was really good. I had a matcha latte, but honestly, I didn’t like it. If you are really into matcha I would suggest the iced Chai latte, that one was 10/10, so delicious. I also had a scrumptious berry muffin and energy ball (PB and oat.

A great little cafe in Bishops Landing complex. Great patio to relax for a few minutes and is a few steps removed from the busier part of the Halifax waterfront. Bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus in a high traffic/touristy area. I suspect it gets busy when there are cruise ships in but it was calm early in the morning for our visit. Outdoor patio has propane heaters for the chilly days but is also enclosed somewhat from the weather to help keep you dry.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were also so accommodating, my daughter loves Nutella sandwiches, and even though it wasn’t on the menu, they made one for her on sourdough bread and it was delicious. I had a double espresso, rich and smooth. The outdoor seating area is lovely, and indoors the atmosphere not too loud. Many people were working, and there are outlets available for charging laptops. I didnt try their food menu, so my stars are based only on what I had, but overall, an excellent spot.
H O — Google review
I used to really like this place, but lately the coffee’s been all over the place. Some days it’s great—beautifully made with care. Other days, like today, it feels like they’ve just given up. I said I was staying in, but they still poured the coffee into a paper cup, no latte art, no effort. When I asked about it, they just said, “Do you want me to pour it in a cup?” It felt… off. If I could see their staff schedule, I’d honestly just come when the good barista is working. Today’s experience was a 1-star, but I’m giving it a 3 because I’ve had genuinely good coffee here before. What’s disappointing is this used to be one of the few spots on the waterfront that didn’t feel like a tourist trap. Now it feels like they’re getting too comfortable—like they know tourists will come anyway, so it doesn’t matter if the quality slips. That part kind of stings.

A&W Canada is a fast-food chain known for its root beer, burgers, chicken, and fries. Customers have praised the food quality and service at various locations. The breakfast menu offers options like the All Canadian Breakfast with sides like sandwiches and coffee. Some customers found the lunch prices to be high but appreciated the affordable breakfast choices. Overall, visitors enjoyed fresh and hot meals served with friendly and efficient service.
A full breakfast for $12, large coffee in, and from drive thru. Their lunch prices have gotten out of hand but this is a decent breakfast option. Eggs over easy. Tasty tomatoes. Ask for pepper of course on those. Tasty. Fresh. I enjoyed it. Coffee was good too.

First time here in years. Delicious burger and fries. Love the burger spice! The gentleman at the front cash was great. Super chill dude. The place was not clean though… The bathrooms were NOT good.
Devin W — Google review
My recent visit to this A&W location left me somewhat disappointed. While I'm typically a fan of A&W's food, the cleanliness of this particular restaurant was a major letdown. The dining area was quite dirty, with uncleaned tables, and the floor could have used a good sweep. The food, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations either. The burger was not as hot as it should have been, and it appeared to have been prepared hastily. The service at the counter was average, but I expected better from a reputable fast-food chain like A&W. I understand that fast-food restaurants can get busy, but maintaining cleanliness is essential for customer satisfaction. I hope they pay more attention to this aspect in the future, as it significantly impacts the dining experience. In summary, my experience at this A&W Canada location was subpar due to cleanliness issues. The food and service were just okay. I'd be willing to give it another chance in the hope that things have improved, but for now, I can only give it a 2-star rating.
Jose N — Google review
The food tastes good! I usually order a buddy burger or other burgers. But... The personal should work wearing a gloves 🫣 while cooking and packing burgers and other meals!! That's weird, when we were going through covid and there stuff before, and they did learn nothing about aseptic and hygienic rules about the hands and food, at fast food especially... Sorry, but that's not acceptable!
Vik Y — Google review
Breakfast menu items are great but both times I've gone they haven't had any of their iced coffee menu items available.
Lucy S — Google review
The customer service is terrible at this location. During the morning shift hours there was this extremely aggressive and rude African Canadian woman at the counter. She later stuck her finger inside my drink and served it to me. This has been a truly disgusting experience. I really hope the management sees this and trains their staff properly on customer service because the standards here are terrible.
Zahin — Google review
There's a uniqueness to Canada A&W. Their menu is healthy compared to other fast food franchise restaurants, they serve chilled root beer, they source their coffee and meat from ethical and environmental friendly source.Very friendly staff and quick service. I love their coffee. I am looking forward to taste their entire menu.

Used the drive thru, ordered ok, fries came with NO seasoning salt at all, very bland. On the burger, they put a whole slove of onion with all layers. Too much. A few rings maybe but it was an unseparated slice of about 8 rings. Small things but after pulling away from the drive thru and finding these two small things, it doesn't make me confident in going back, to that location anyway. Cafe Taiyaki 52, located in downtown Halifax, is a charming Japanese dessert cafe that specializes in traditional Taiyakis. These delightful treats resemble a fish-shaped waffle or pancake and come with various fillings such as red bean, vanilla custard, and hazelnut chocolate.
Hidden Gem! The Bulgogi Sandwich was really good—I’ve never had a sandwich like that before. Super tasty and packed with flavour. I had it with an iced mocha coffee, and the combo worked perfectly. The coffee was smooth and refreshing. A great little find!

Happened upon this charming place by complete accident while walking around town sightseeing. Staff was so lovely. Had the chocolate Cruffle. OMG. Was probably the most delicious thing I've had in a long time. Made a plan to come back the next day for lunch where they didn't disappoint. The Sweet&Spicy pulled chicken was fantastic. Just the right amount of spice for my white-gurl-palate to admire. In town till Sunday, I might have to make it a three-peat! So yummy!
Shannon A — Google review
SO good!! Best matcha ice cream I’ve had and the tiny taiyakis had such a delightful crisp while maintaining a soft interior texture! Absolutely delish and the atmosphere was really cute too!
Fairy T — Google review
Cafe Taiyaki 52 has perhaps the BEST taiyaki I've ever had in Canada. While it is a bit overpriced (I had a matcha custard taiyaki with a milk iced coffee (T52 coffee) for almost 10 dollars), it was worth it, and I want to come back before leaving Halifax. The house coffee, T52, was very tasty. The shopkeeper introduced it to me as the "special double double," but I'd say it's the usual Korean milk coffee. It was creamy, pleasantly sweet, but not too sweet like the actual double-double. The matcha custard taiyaki was the star of all of these - the outer layer was super crispy (it even had some pieces fall off as the "chips," which I could use to dip the whipped cream and chocolate sauce on the plate). The taiyaki cake itself was just perfect. It was crispy on the outside but super soft and creamy inside, and very fresh and hot. The custard was sweet, comforting and delicious, which was perfectly paired with the outer buttery skin. I don't think anything else could beat this combo as the perfect breakfast. The shop was super clean, well-organized and comfortable. The service was excellent. I love this cafe. 4.5 stars because it's a bit pricy.
Firmament — Google review
I visited this place with my sister Daria and genuinely I have mixed feelings about it. First, I want to state that it’s a nice place to sit at. Good music, pretty plants and decorations, very clean. Second, the food is kinda mid and overpriced. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it tasted very strange- it was sweet and salty at the same time, and the chicken itself had a weird taste and structure of it. The fishes (vanilla and mochi fillings) tasted okay but nothing special. The drinks were okay too, but as I said, not worth the price. Third, the customer service wasn’t good. I had to stand up and go back to the table because they didn’t give me any sugar or napkins. The girl at the counter wasn’t really friendly and it felt awkward to order / choose food. Overall, this place is okay in general, but for such price I’d consider going to better places such as Pane e Circo where the food and drinks are worth its price.

I can only speak to the dessert menu items as that is all I have eaten here, but they're really good. I have tried a broad range of flavours, and none of them have disappointed. The atmosphere inside is really cozy.

McDonald's is a well-established fast-food restaurant famous for its burgers and fries. While some people prefer to limit their consumption there, others enjoy specific menu items like the egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches on English muffins or the sausage. The renovated atmosphere has been praised for its modern look, contributing to an overall satisfactory experience at McDonald's.
Here’s a small McDonald’s location in the suburbs of Halifax surrounded by a number of shopping plazas and groceries. The spot itself is quite congested both in terms of tables and people. They seemed to prioritize the speed with which to get the orders out due to the crowding. Our apple slices were mixed with fries in our Happy Meal electronic order.

I bought three Mc double meals. I received three drinks Two burgers and two fries In the drive-through As always, I check my bag of food to make sure because I'm on a long drive home I noticed I was missing a burger and fries Went in to fix this mistake(We are all human) And they told me that in fact, I was wrong and that they put it all in the bag. I'm super disappointed In that service seeing how it was a seven dollar meal and now I'm out that money. Three people at that McDonald's Bayers Lake denied me what I paid for I've tried to call, but no one answers I don't normally give bad reviews, but thought this is important in a time like now

See pictures below (1&2) for my "large" fries. I went through the drive-thru and as I was leaving the parking lot, I reached in and felt my lukewarm fries. Already disappointed that I didn't get fresh fries, I then realized the container was only half full. Seems like the employees were trying to unload their old disgusting fries on drive thru customers because they can't come back to complain. I was able to return to the store and the staff were happy to replace my fries with fresh, HOT fries (pic 3 - how the container SHOULD be) - but it shouldn't have to be like that. I was lucky to realize how terrible the fries were before I was too far away to get it fixed. Really disappointed in the decline of McDonald's quality. There were so many people in the store and in the drive thru, I'm not ever sure how the restaurant didn't have fresh fries.
Amanda C — Google review
To the Attention of the Branch Manager, I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent experience at your restaurant. After placing an order and sitting down to eat, I realized that my fries were missing from the order. I returned to the counter and politely informed the cashier. The young blonde cashier looked at me in a strange way and said she would give me the fries “only this time.” I found her tone and choice of words dismissive and somewhat insulting, as if I was trying to deceive the staff, which I find unacceptable. I kindly ask that you speak to the employee involved and ensure that customers are treated with respect and courtesy. Mistakes happen, but how they are handled matters a great deal. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, A tourist visiting the lovely country of Canada for the first time.

I've been to many MacDonald's and this by far was the dirtiest. We had to clean our own table because everyone was dirty ( I would understand if they were crazy busy but it wasn't). Bathrooms were gross and the drink was just as bad! The server might as well have told me to go shove it with the look I got.

Skip this place, the food was stale, falling apart when i got it, it was made quick but if the food isnt up to the standard then its not worth the speed. Disappointing Relativly clean but i can see why nobody was here...

Probably the worse in HRM, I had a large Fries and they only gave me half bag of fries. Ordered a double burger with extra lettuce and tomatoes but they didn’t give me lettuce at all and only 1 piece of tomato.

Terrible service. Staff seemed uninterested and more focused on chatting with each other than helping customers. Definitely not the welcoming atmosphere you’d expect from a fast-food chain.

East Coast Bakery is a nut-free, dairy-free, and kosher parve certified bakery known for its specialty in bagels and breads. The bakery also offers generously-sized sweets that have left customers impressed. Visitors have raved about the amazing fresh bagels that rival those from popular spots in other cities, as well as perfectly baked cookies with a crispy exterior and gooey texture inside. Customers have praised the great customer service and expressed their intention to return for more of the delicious offerings.
Super high quality breads, fluid and quick service. You know the luxury restaurants that charges 50$+ for a lobster roll? They have better bread than them but you gotta order in advance.

This bakery has been around for quite a while. I always enjoy getting cookies and bagels from here. Keep in mind that its main business is from cookies and bagels. Don't expect much else. It's awesome to have a popular kosher bakery around Halifax.

The best bagel we have ever had, they are a great example of local bakery. The smell and taste of their bagel is amazing when you bite them you feel the crunchy texture on the outside and fresh steamy inside🥰 You must try them out if you’re here for a visit

Not only does East Coast Bakery have some of the best challah in town, they are also staffed with the sweetest humans around. I was 10min late to pick up some items I hadn’t even paid for yet; not only did they call and ask if I was still coming, they stayed open until I got there! Truly so wonderful. Highly highly recommend

The bagels are absolutely delicious... baked Montreal style. I would love to bring you all back home to Ontario. You could teach them a thing or two. Yum 😋

Visited for the first time and chose 6 bagels: the cinnamon and sugar, the everything, 3 plain, and 1 sesame seed. They were excellent! We ate them straight out of the bag. Not dry and very tasty! 5/5
Julia K — Google review
Bagels are delicious and staff are friendly, but it is frustrating that bagels and buns are only sold by half dozen or dozen. For university students with little freezer and refrigeration space, it makes the offer a lot less appealing.
