I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes for a mini wedding celebration and they were such a hit! They are so cute and every flavour was delicious. I had accidentally entered the wrong date on my order but they whipped it together really quick for me and were so kind about the mistake, really great service. I would absolutely recommend! The crowd favourite was a feature, Banana cream pie, the best cupcake I’ve ever had ☺️.

Phenomenol cupcakes! I had ordered the salted caramel, oreo, and I believe a cinnamonish cupcake? They were so delicious! The salted caramel was my favourite (and I'm someone who's not the biggest fan of caramel). The frosting was so light and fluffy and the cupcake base was so moist. I need to come back again and grab more flavours to try!

Layers is the perfect place to get a sweet treat! Their cupcakes are perfectly created - fluffy, not too sweet and the perfect ratio of cake to frosting. They also always have new creative flavours to try! The staff is super friendly and helpful. If you’re going for a specific flavour, I recommend going early as they sell out quickly!

My long distance friends got a box of THE most delicious cupcakes sent to my place for my birthday last year. Ever since then I’ve been trying to get invited to a birthday party so I can share the joy of these delicious treats. Put in a phone order for delivery the same day, driver was running late but then I was surprised with an extra half dozen cupcakes!! Incredible service and incredible cupcakes!

These cupcakes are by far, THE MOST DELECTABLE cupcakes we have ever tasted...and The Chocolate Chocolate Cake was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I can't express enough just how scrumptious their recipes really are! This batter recipe Layers uses is not too sweet, but just perfectly sweet enough when combined with the smoothest, dreamiest icing that I have ever tasted! The people in this company are not only cheerful, friendly and kind, but they are true professionals who know their stuff! These people really know how to welcome you and make you want to return again and again for their special product and genuine kindness! We decided last minute to get a wedding cake and cupcakes for our wedding. Layers was super helpful with deciding what to order and fulfilling our order perfectly we only a few weeks notice. We ended up ordering a small wedding cake and mini cupcakes for our guests which worked out perfect. I would definitely recommend doing mini cupcakes instead of the full size cupcakes as they are much more approachable especially after a large dinner. Layers doesn’t do custom wedding cakes but that wasn’t important to us so it worked out well.

My husband and I eloped in Germany in the fall, so for our little wedding celebration with friends and family this past weekend my mom ordered a bunch of pretzels to give to everyone. They reminded us so much of our trip! So yummy and beautiful! We ordered cookies too and they were absolutely beautiful, everything was delicious ! Awesome customer service too, we would definitely order from them and will have to pop in for a pretzel! 🥨

Today is my friend’s birthday and I planned to get a pumpkin pie for her. Only it has to be from Gingerbread Haus. Six years ago, my first autumn in Canada, I randomly walked into Gingerbread Haus. Didn’t know what to pick, I chose to try the seasonal special, the pumpkin pie with whipped cream. It was amazing, so unforgettable. The next time I walked in the shop. Sorry, the pumpkin pie was SOLD OUT. Just like this, year after year, when it was in season, they sold out quickly; when it was not in season, no pumpkin pies. Maybe you can give it a try on Easter. I was told so. I tried. No Easter pumpkin pies. The bakeries were so good and business went so well that making pumpkin pies on Easter was not possible. Luckily I stayed all these years in the same neighborhood and still have friends living nearby. After another random but magic afternoon walk, I pulled open the shop door and found the pumpkin pies available again. Yes, this year we have the luck to enjoy another Gingerbread Haus pumpkin pie. Tastes like the best part of life.

Outstanding! I had been disappointed by several “bakeries” along the Cabot Trail. They left me wanting baked goods when we got back in Halifax. And the Gingerbread Haus delivered! What an amazing selection they had. After our first visit, we immediately returned for more. I had the almond ring on our walk through the Point Pleasant park and it held up the whole way. See the pics for prices and products. Service was pleasant. Staff behind the counter could describe each item in detail. The only downside was that they aren’t open until 9am. Well worth the wait. You must visit this bakery if you are in the area!

In last few years store became worse and worse... I did love that store, and I remember when you guys got open, and my family always was customers for cakes there, even few times we had coffee in, not to go. But last few times I got not fresh slice of cake, and not fresh full cake. With memories, that mistakes could happened and everyone deserve second chance, I start to visit not that often. But last time on Thursday July 10th I came to buy Rum bowls for a family gathering, first for so little desert price jump high from last time I bought it. and when I bought 5 of them, each cost $4.05, with tax I spend more than $23. and cashier did put them in small brown bag! when you selling desert for $4+ and its few of them, you serving it like piece of garbage or leftovers in brown bag. No, I'm not coming back. To sell old deserts, and after treat customers like a garbage after giving you another chance... this place not for me!

A simple bakery with delicious baked goods. Service was friendly, helpful and patient. Selection was excellent even when I came near the end of their day, and everything was amazing. Got Almond Wheels, Mozart's, Gingerbread People, Nougat Wheel, and Lemon Shortbread. All were fantastic! Will be back!

Lovely little bakery serving wonderful European bakes. The gingerbread was perfectly spiced with just the right balance of flavours and the texture was spot on. A great range of bakes at very reasonable prices.

I barely consume sweet goods, almost never, because my senses of taste and smell are too strong and sugar bothers me but when I first got to know of the Gingerbread Haus nearby I realized they are Erupoean-style professionals. By far different from what I've experienced in the North America. Their products are not saturated with sugar. The sour dough breads, the cream on the cakes and the ratio of the ingridients are phenomenal. I have promised myself not to buy any cakes unless I purchase them here. Their products are indeed pricy when compared to the mass production items in the chainstores but you enjoy and live longer :) They close soon, plan and pre-order so you won't have to choose the low quality sweets for your events.

Nice little bakery, tucked in and out of the way. Good selection of baked goods. Mainly breads, muffins and specialty muffins and desserts. Fairly priced, we had muffins and cinnamon buns. Tasted good. Reasonably priced, bread and english muffins are pricy and small portions. Really liked their muffins. Staff is friendly and serve you really quickly.

I recently returned from a trip to Nova Scotia and brought back five different kinds of cakes from the coast. Sharing them with friends, some former East coasters, 24 Carrot oatcakes were the clear fan favorite, more than holding their own against the finest oat cakes from Cape Breton. They are cross between the more austere CB style and some of the thicker, decadent mainland versions. A perfect balance it appears. They were so well loved by a friend’s Colombian girlfriend that she took the balance of his chocolate dipped oak cakes back to Bogota. Thanks to the staff at the bakery for setting me up for success! Ps. I also purchased chocolate macaroons which proved to be a perfect energy boost during the long drive back to Upper Canada.

What did you change in your oatcakes? They used to be crispy and tasty; now they're SOGGY and BLAND. I'm never buying them again and they were my favourite. I'll bet you cheaped out on the butter.....

My first experience was great fresh and looked great display was full and service was awesome. But today June 22 .2.10 my child and I felt rushed my daughter 5 years old was excited and didn't know what she really wanted to try she then decided on two cupcakes. After the person served it she said anything else I said yes I would like to have a date square. Again (anything else I said yes my girlfriend wants something as well..she pick and then and anything else. I asked about the pies and the person walked aways from me as I was talking to her ..I could not even hear what she was saying. I asked again and it seemed like she got upset because she had to repeat herself. Not returning to this place again ..

Ordered vanilla birthday cake for my toddler’s birthday.it was so delicious and looked amazing too. Service is good. They would answer all your questions instantly. The cake was ready on time as promised.

Very cute little cafe with few seating upstairs. The menu selection is small with pastries made fresh daily and different items on different days of the week. The croissant is very good and is layers upon layers of crispy flakiness. Much more dense than I've ever had elsewhere, where most of it is air. Would recommend.

This little place is great. Good cappuccino and the croissants super flaky and nice. Been a long time since I had a croissant that deserved the name. The canélé are awesome too.

Wonderful little find near the Convention Centre. Real French feel…great coffees and eats. The canelé came warmed and had a beautiful soft centre. Macaroons are well priced and made in the Parisian style - delicious. Croissant delicious. Good value..

Stumbled into this little place by accident but immediately fell in love. Very quaint space, beautiful & delicious desserts! Pain au chocolat was perfect - not too much and not too sweet. Croissant dough is buttery light and flaky! I did enjoy my London Fog but my husband said his coffee wasn't very good. I will absolutely return to try more sweets!

This is such a cute little cafe. I had a latte and mocha which were both really good. I also had a vanilla and chocolate caneles which were not that good, didn’t taste like it was made fresh. The barista was really nice and the seating area was colourful.

To be honest, one of my favorite places to go, location is very good in the heart of the city, the old building added value where I felt the history when I was there. The patisseries are unique, French and delicious. Even you can't find them anywhere. I like the girl work over there she is welcoming, smiley face and friendly (I thought she is the owner). Layout, I like the layout and decorations. Prices are ($$), but worth it.p Working hours, I found they close very early, sometime we like to have coffee after 5pm, specially the business in the heart of the city Conclusion, really you should visit, and test macarons, they are frech. Today I visited Creamy Rainbow Café and tried their pistachio croissant—and wow, it was incredible. It looked beautiful, with a chocolate-nut topping, and inside… the pistachio filling was so generous and absolutely delicious. I am a big fan of anything pistachio, and this one totally hit the mark. I also had a cappuccino, which paired perfectly with the pastry. Smooth, well-balanced, and just strong enough—simple to describe, but very well done. Both the croissant and coffee were honestly 10 out of 10. Highly recommend if you’re a pistachio lover or just want a quality café moment.

The place is quite expensive while some desserts are really cute. Me personally, I thought that more authentic Asian food would be available. This experience reminded me of watching a YouTube video because of the hyped title and finding that the content itself is not worth it. If you have no high expectations and just need a good place to have a dessert with coffee - it is totally fine.

This place was adorable! I had their iced strawberry latte with an almond croissant & my partner had a caramel iced latte & bun. They were both delicious & I can’t wait to come back! The staff ate very friendly

One star because their matcha doesn’t taste good at all. Matcha powder doesn’t have flavour, lacks colour and it is very milky. In the picture the color looks fine but once stirred it’s very light green. Although their macaroons are very delicious !!

Pistachio croissants are amazing!💚 very intrigued by that pistachio cake, maybe next time I’ll try it, if no croissants are left 😂 Other desserts are looking so cute and delicious.

It’s my Korean bestie’s and I one of our favorite places ever. I guarantee you that anything you get will be a 100% delicious. They always have a great selection of creamy desserts that are frequently updated and the drinks are supreme. My to go drinks are iced strawberry matcha and yuzu drink. Anyway, if you want a nice place with delicious desserts and drinks and reasonable prices- you won’t be disappointed with this one

They catered our wedding just last weekend and we were taken care of so well by them. The food was superb (the prime roast rib of beef was incredible). And their service was amazing. Made sure every need we had was seen to. If I’m ever entertaining a party in the future, I will definitely be looking to them for catering.

Scanway Catering supplied our wedding dessert bar with various types of mini bites, such as cupcakes, fruit tarts, macarons, etc. Their catering menu is extensive with many good options. Melisa, the Event Catering Manager, was very helpful when organising all of this over email. Guests commented on how delicious the dessert was!

Had such a great experience getting my birthday cake from Scanway. Ray was super helpful and guided me through everything. She was very responsive and friendly.

Recently orders from there and the taste was 10 on 10 . I would highly recommend this place ….. and I will be surely ordering from there again. The only thing missing is they do not deliver and it’s in downtown so that is sometimes a hassle as weather is a challenge here. But otherwise than that in terms of quality and taste this place is absolutely amazing.

I’m satisfied with the birthday cake. Nowadays fancy bakery birthday cakes can easily go over 100 dollars plus tax just for the decorations. No tax for the birthday cake here. Simple and delicious. Great ingredients.

Holy mother of delicious donuts!! The cinnamon sugar donut was INCREDIBLE!! The rooftop patio is fabulous!! Tables and chairs. Umbrellas. Propane heaters. Looks like it becomes a bar (beer & alcohol) around noon. Super friendly staff!! I asked for a grilled chicken sandwich a very specific way and they did their best to accommodate me. My slightly picky (yes, that's sarcasm) girlfriend requested a totally plain pizza (dough, cheese, & sauce -- no basil, no grated cheese) and they made it. We ate breakfast on the rooftop patio. It was really nice! We were the only ones up there at that time. Very quiet. Very relaxing. Nice view. We returned later for lunch and ate inside. If we had spent more time in Nova Scotia I think I would have returned several more times. A perfect spot for a lite bite!! :-)

I ordered a Scanway two-person picnic to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. From the presentation, packed beautifully in a big white box, to all the courses and garnishes, it was perfect. We had the version with the poached salmon. The portions were very generous and every bite was delicious. We were blessed with a beautiful day and found a picnic table with a stunning view. I was very happy with my choice. They will even pack the meal in a real picnic basket if you don't need to use a cooler during transportation. We heartily recommend a Scanway picnic as a way to give someone a special treat.

Nice small cafe. The staff was really nice and welcoming. The cake was amazing! I ordered the Triple Chocolate Cake and London Fog Latte and both were great! The other cakes they have looks good too. I love the interior decoration of this cafe, cute and honey.

We ordered a cake from here last minute for our elopement, and it was made for us within a few hours, with beautiful personalised details. The cake tasted delicious and lasted well despite travelling all the way up to Cape Breton! We also found the bakery to be very reasonably priced, and would highly recommend.

The prettiest cakes and very talented decorating. The cakes seem very light which I enjoy. Not a place to get something rich tasting. But the way they do their cakes is so gorgeous who cares what it tastes like?! I always go to this place for the most epically decored custom cakes.

Came in based on the high rating. Ordered the red velvet cheese cake. The cake was dry and stale including the cheese cake part itself. It had no flavour. For over $8 + tax, it was not worth it. There was no service to even comment on.

On July 1st, I urgently needed a birthday cake for a friend around 4–4:30 PM. After calling several bakeries with no luck—most didn’t have any ready-made cakes left at the end of the day—I reached out to Piece of Cake. To my surprise, someone kindly offered to try and make a cake within 30 minutes and asked for a bit of time to confirm with their delivery person. They followed up shortly after to confirm that delivery would be possible. The entire experience—from the prompt and clear text communication to the on-time delivery—was absolutely seamless. The cake itself was delicious and beautifully made. It truly saved the day, especially since I live in Calgary and couldn’t be there in person. I really appreciate their incredible customer service and willingness to go above and beyond. Highly recommend!

The best cheesecake I ever had.The cheesecake at Piece of Cake is simply divine! It's creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor. The crust adds the perfect touch of crunch, and each bite is pure bliss. I only take one star away as I used to brag about their quality for price. You used to get this great quality for cheaper than people were selling their cupcakes at all the markets all over HRM and even the moncton markets I frequent. Now their price hike has them at the same prices ( I realize prices go up but didn't expect the large leap as izzys bagels did it a few cents at a time for fairness to their customers). I will keep going for their flavors and icing being superior and the friendly lady usually at cash. If I could give it a 4.5 I would.

We went today for a dessert, had never been before. My daughter picked a cookie and she wasn’t able to eat it. She is 4, she eats anything with sugar on it. I tried it and it was terrible, pretty sure it is quite old and has been on display for a while. Very expensive for what they offer.

Lovely bakery and customer service, found the birthday cake ordered way too sweet, gave them a second chance and asked if the sweetness can be reduced a bit, but I was told they don't change recipes. The second cake, different flavor, was also overwhelmingly too sweet, masking any flavour cake might have. Have since found another bakery that have cakes with normal sugar levels and won't be back unfortunately

Love Susie’s. I’m a baker but when I’m in a time crunch it’s my go to. Everyone loves their cupcakes. The person that left a review complaining about too much sugar? Seriously….its literally called shortbreads which are made with butter and sugar. That’s like going to the liquor store and complaining they have too much alcohol!! Most ridiculous comment ever. This is a wonderful bakery.

A sea perch I bought was spoiled. Next day I came for a refund and got it no problem. I actually cooked that perch because I didn’t want to believe it was spoiled just because of the smell lol but then I tried it once cooked and my dinner was ruined it wasn’t cool at all:(

Slow service, long lines, and high prices. Rarely are there more than 2 checkouts open, causing long lines, items in the store frequently mislabeled leading to delays during checkout often. Definitely one of the slower, and less appealing Sobeys locations in Halifax.

Every visit to this place is the same frustrating nightmare. The shelves are empty, the “big eight” products are always out of stock, and the employees? They’re not working they’re loitering in clusters, gossiping, staring at walls, doing everything except their jobs. With this many staff on site, how is it possible that no one can be bothered to stock the shelves or help a customer? The self-checkout area is no better staff sit around like it’s a social club while you wait 10+ minutes for help. And here’s the kicker: the Canadian products I actually want are constantly missing, while overpriced American alternatives are everywhere. It’s hard not to feel like this isn’t just laziness it’s actively anti-Canadian. Every week, over and over, the same thing happens, making it impossible to support local products without being forced to settle for whatever overpriced imports are left. I tried to buy Canadian, but apparently the employees can’t be bothered. Instead of Diet bug 8 Coke, which everyone clearly wants, I walked out with lemonade and orange pop. This level of negligence and disregard isn’t just incompetence it borders on deliberate disrespect for Canadian Products and your Canadian Shoppers.

Staff in the deli department are complacent, full of attitude and extremely complacent! I brought my mother into the store this evening for some chicken and onion rings as she likes them, yet upon ordering, a girl approached us and asked what we would like and since they didn’t have any onion rings. When I asked if some fresh ones could be prepared she responded that she would check. After waiting a mere 7 minutes, another girl in her place came and asked us if we needed any help. My mom told her we were waiting for the other girl to return- she then said- there are no onion rings left. Weird! She sucked her teeth after my mom asked her why the other lady didn’t come back to serve us- Do better with your hiring of staff who subject nice customers to this kind of poor service and scrutiny. It’s utterly ridiculous

The last week I have had two unhappy visits out of two. First just an unhappy employee sharing her dislike of her job. Oh well we all have bad days. Then Friday I try to make a purchase from the bakery. Pakg says 4.95$ nothing unusual he charges me twice the price plus tax bringing it to over ten dollars I polite say that can't be right as the price is only 495$. He the turns his screen around and starts explaining to me like I am a stupid child that 495 times two is etc ... I try to explain that if u had a box of cookies u wouldn't charge 12x the price. He does not listen. But keeps trying to tell there are two it's in the container so it is double. l say so a box of donuts would be 12x the price listed on the box This doesn't make sense does it? Again he trys to tell me it is two items like l am stupid. I leave and call and speak to management who then trys to say he is right and imply l am some how responsible for two items being put in the container and it should be 2x the price. Again I explain i have bought from the deli bakery etc many times and this has never been the case Two sandwiches in a package are the price printed on the label and only that price. A dozen donuts are the price on the outside of the box not 12x. Well at least I can not totaly blame him for his confusion. In times of shrinking market shares and rising cost you would think loyal customers we be considered quite valuable. I may be only buying one item today but I shopped at sobey most weeks two or three times, some weeks every day Plus I shopped at Lawton 7 days a week and got my prescription filled there. So a change to shoppers drug is my future.

Great store but often does not carry items that can be found in other Sobey’s locations. Example is Italian Volcano lemon juice (I have to go to the Mumford Road or Tantallon stores to get.

Excellent place for grocery's and pharmacy. The variety of food is immense and you get to choose from different options available. Sobeys Pharmacy & Liquor store both are located in single campus. Parking is huge with no problems at any time of the week or weekend.

Pane e Circo is such a beautiful spot to enjoy a coffee! With an Italian touch, they serve illy coffee and offer a wide variety of pastries, sandwiches, croissants or paninis, salads, and even gelato. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Highly recommended!

I made this my first stop to start my first day in Halifax, and I loved it. Beautiful place with a great atmosphere. I picked up a few sweets, and it was a nice touch that they deliver your coffee right to the table. It’s always those small details that make the experience better. Absolutely superb customer service—and then, just a short walk away, you’re ready to start your day.

Great variety of food and beverages, both high quality and delicious. Service is also outstanding. I took the mushroom panini and I was impressed with the flavor and freshness of it. Plus, the bread was really good. And the matcha latte was just perfect in terms of temperature, sweetness, flavor, everything!

Great place to enjoy coffee and chat with friends in Dt! Here has a great selection of coffee, drinks, baking, and brunch options, and the staff are all friendly and professional. Tried the Pistachio Chocolate Croissant, which was the best pistachio chocolate croissant I've had in Halifax! 😆It was very crowded, so if it's rush hour, you'll have to wait for a table.

Went there with a friend, had two almond croissants with hot coffee latte and cold ice latte. Loved the snacks and enjoyed the environmental buzz filled with family, friends, and old ladies and gents. Loved the cozy wibe. It was a lovely day, people sitting in patio and many inside in much colder place.

This is a lovely place with great drinks and the staff is super helpful and kind! I’ve come here a couple of times now and never really ordered a whole lot of the food items (although they look delicious) but the drinks I have tried are amazing! The fruity drinks taste fresh and you can tell they are made with good quality ingredients rather than a whole bunch of artificial flavours, and the ones I’ve tried haven’t been overly sweet either. It was a great place to sit in on a hot day as the drinks were refreshing and the AC was very much appreciated haha. A little busy but aside from that the place is nice and service/drinks are great! (They also have the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen which is automatically a 10/10 for me)

Excellent coffee and pastries. I had a cortado, breakfast sandwich and almond croissant. Great coffee and the croissant was so delicious. I saved half for later and it was still very yummy. My friend had a cinnamon bun and also loved it. The place was nice and the fresh tulips in each table gave it a special touch.

Went for breakfast and the pastry was cold. The staffs seemed just busy that they didn’t make little effort of heating up a cold egg puff. Also had a cupcake which was dry and stale. Though I like their loaf, it is overpriced pastry and overrated place.

Visited their new location in Brewery Market recently. The decor was funky and relaxed and although the selection was small, the pastries were unbelievable! Service was friendly too. Looking forward to going again soon.

As I walked to work everyday, I slowly watched as this place became an empty husk of a venue to the brilliant bakery it is today. I've never had a dessert there I didn't like (even some that I was reluctant to try). The staff was always friendly. Their burger week special was an excellent out-of-the-box idea and was worth its price.

Went here for some breakfast food and coffee and found that everything was way overpriced. I didn't think the food was amazing - it was ok, but definitely not worth what they're charging. Also if you're average male height or above make sure to duck under the lighting fixture they have in the washroom.

Pleasant service. Amazing baked goods. Would recommend the donuts if you want to try something unique and amazing. They also sell travel mugs, ceramic coffee filters, and locally made tea and coffee. Can occasionally get crowded by popular demand. But that is no fault of the store, other than being so good.

While set in a dated decor, the old apothecary offers an amazing Cinnamon Bun. A bit undercooked for my taste but still very much decadent. Perfect to finish your week with your favorite cup of coffee

First saw this bakery on the Food network show; Baking Sisters (I think it's called). So while in Halifax, I had to check it out. The aroma of their bread is intoxicating! If it wasn't for us staying in a hotel (and doing no meals in room) I would have tried their breads. It was hard not to buy! We were too late for croissants or cinnamon buns. I'm betting they sell out fast. But the lemon tart we had was wonderful! Also, (not pictured) we tried a mini orange cake with mascarpone icing, which was also yummy. My next visit to Halifax, will include another stop here. And next time I'm coming for bread!

I had high expectations from this bakery considering it has been long running. Customer service was okay. I was only able to try two different sandwiches, and two different desserts and they were all just okay. I had better breakfast sandwich at Reno's. I had better sausage roll at European Pantry. I had better hot sandwich at Pete's. I love their coffee. I do like their house-made dessert.

I really like this bakery. Is a bakery a dying breed? It was a challenge to find a place to get a fancy birthday cake. It's not everyday I buy a fancy birthday cake and $37 is nothing to sneeze at, they look the part and you can order something special if you like but I wanted to buy something off the shelf.Great helpful friendly instructive staff and that means a lot. I love the stools and the counters by the windows. A great place to hangout. I hope to come back and try some of the tasty bits for lunch soups and pizzas and chilis. I've been on a diet as of late so I was really looking forward to tasting this chocolate cake but I have to admit I was a little let down. It was a little too heavy and dense for my taste, maybe heated up with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and it would have been perfect. Maybe it was perfect and I just don't like chocolate cake as much as I thought I did :-) I did try a cupcake sized ‘birthday cake’ (sadly I can’t recall the name) which was a white pound cake and white icing which I found delicious. Great coffee as well.

Good coffee, though it is self serve and there are no free refills. I enjoyed the baked goods we sampled. The tables are awkward, wobbly and oddly placed. When they chose the metal backed chairs I'm guessing they didn't take into account the amount of glare from the sun. It was pretty uncomfortable but would be fine on an overcast day or in the morning when the sun isn't coming right through the front window, bouncing off the chairs and burning my retinas. Free wifi and reasonable prices though. I would go again but not on a sunny afternoon.

I was really excited when I moved to Halifax from Montreal and found this little bakery near where I live. I thought it would be the perfect place to pick up breakfast before work and order cakes for birthdays. Unfortunately, I must agree with some of the other reviewers, the customer service is awful. Last time I was helped by a cutesy hipstery girl named Sarah (sp?) who looked a lot like a brunette version of Taylor Swift. She messed up my order at least three times and still over charged me! I wouldn't be writing a review had this been my only negative experience, but, sadly, there have been many. I have also found hair in my food several times. Is it that difficult to get competent staff?

New review: If I had to pick somewhere to go for breakfast that wasn't The Ardmore Tea Room, it would be Smith's Bakery. Everything here is nothing short of phenomenal. They offer breakfast and lunches, corfee, a huge assortment of baked goods, drinks from a cooler, etc. Prices are extremely reasonable given the quality, everything feels very homey and cozy. $5 for fresh bread, $3 for yesterday's fresh bread IF they have any left. I heartily recommend the breakfast sandwich, it'll set you up for a late lunch. Original review: The food is so good I don't have any pictures of it.

I was 6 when my Mom would go every day to buy something from there I'm now 58 it was friendly, the bakery was amazing! Today it's all about the money and I agree with others, the product is getting smaller and the price went up.

She was very flexible with our needs (due to Covid-19, we weren't sure if the wedding would be able to go ahead as planned or not....), and all the guests remarked on how delicious the cake tasted. I tried the mango cheesecake and ice coffee. Staff members are friendly and explained to me they are made in stores. Cheesecake cafe and people games for them. They are not too sweet, just right, the mango and raspberry sauces are great. Anyone who does not want to have too sweet cheesecake is a good choice.

That was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had in over a decade. I had the London fog cheesecake. Sadly I don’t live in Halifax so not sure when I’ll have it again :(. Staff was also really helpful and kind. My boyfriend had the brownie and also loved it. Ambience was great!

I think this may be the best. Geese ale I have ever had! Boston Cream pie made with their homemade Venetian cream. Absolutely divine!

This cheesecake was one of the best I've ever had! It was so good that I wish the slices were bigger. I got the marble one. I loved how you could actually taste the cream cheese and it was not overpowering. The staff was super friendly!

First of all, the decor in this place is so pretty! I met up with a friend to try the new cheesecake flights. The flavours were strawberry shortcake, London fog, Kit Kat, Crispy Crunch, raspberry lemon and Wunderbar. They were all absolutely delicious, my favourite being the Wunderbar. Perfectly chocolatey and peanut butter-y without being overly sweet or rich. I can't wait to come back and try more flavours in the future! All of the staff were so friendly as well! 😊

I dread having to go get anything on Quinpool. The traffic is a nightmare and the parking is scarce. However, if there ever was a reason to brave those fears it's Sweet Hereafter. Absolutely amazing cheesecake! Nice cozy atmosphere. If you haven't gone, do yourself a favor and go have a slice.

I usually carry my own ceramic or glass tumbler because I care about the environment and my health. When I ordered, I said I wanted my bread to go, but my coffee and tea to stay. However, the same male staff member with tied dark-blond hair who both took my order and made the drinks had already poured my drinks into disposable paper cups. At first, I thought those drinks weren’t mine, but they turned out to be. When I asked for mugs, he transferred the drinks from the paper cups into them. By that time, the paper cups had already become waste, and my hot coffee and tea had already been sitting in those paper cups long enough for chemicals to leach out. I normally carry a ceramic or glass tumbler and request “to stay” to avoid disposable waste and exposure to harmful substances, so this situation was utterly absurd and frustrating. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy like latte art. I just wanted to start my morning pleasantly with good coffee, but this experience left me really disappointed. If you visit this café, I recommend getting service from the other male staff member, the one with short(he is always kind), dark hair or women, not the one with tied dark blond hair.

An amazing spot, make incredible by its PHENOMENAL food. Truly the BEST sourdough and BEST croissant I’ve ever had. The only downside is the irregular hours: it seems like they close early often, because I’ve shown up twice before during “regular” hours and the shop was closed. But this makes it even more exciting when you can get here because it’s that much more special. Recommend ten times over!

Nice place to have breakfast. We tried the almond croissant and the ham and cheese croissant. The almond croissant was a little overbaked. Other than that, everything else was good.

Oh LF, I love you so. Please come to Dartmouth. Fresh bread, good coffee, huge rotating selection of treats. You need a home in Dartmouth. This place is Loud, but I think you have to be cognizant that this is a working bakery. Please help us. They’re not usually open on Mondays and they usually take a week off around Christmas and summer, which is well deserved. I’ve never had the sandwiches, but looking at the display case for 10-12 bucks look unreal. Lots of marginalized people in the area, usually try buy something extra to give somebody on the way out. Kindness counts.

Nice little bakery cafe. The bakery seems very busy! We got a loaf of white bread, which was fresh and had great texture, but was missing something (maybe salt?). We also had coffees and treats while we were there. Excellent Americano and a very good croissant. Will go back to try more baked goods.

The cardamom iced latte was good but the blueberry tart was underwhelming & the vanilla custard wasn’t flaky it was soggy and the custard had an egg taste that we didn’t enjoy.

Easily one of the best bakeries in Atlantic Canada. Definitely top three, I haven't been everywhere so I can't rule out some dark horse from some random corner, but these guys are top notch. Croissant is good as you'll get in Paris, and I've been there and done that! Get up early and get down there for when they open at 7:30 and the smell of fresh baked baguettes and other deliciousness will transport you to heaven!

I visited this place because of its high rating but left a bit underwhelmed. The seating inside felt cramped, and the chairs were uncomfortable and some were even broken. I ordered the egg Sammy, loved the challah bread, but it was awkward to eat. The bagel sandwich wasn’t very fresh, and the coffee was pretty basic. For the prices, it felt like just another overhyped breakfast and coffee spot. The bakery items (spicy walnut scone and peach cake) on the other hand, which I believe are outsourced, were actually quite good!!

We loved our breakfast bagels and coffees from Dilly Dally! I ordered the Veggie Bagel, and was overly thrilled with how delicious it was! The atmosphere was so cozy and charming, it felt very welcoming, like you could hang out all day. It was super busy when we were there, but the service was still very friendly and quick! I would highly recommend visiting Dilly Dally if you find yourself in the area!

Small coffee shop with options for quick grab and go items or more traditional served to table breakfast sandwiches. The shop has close quarters, so during peak hours you may have to use the outdoor seating (which is still quite nice!) Limited parking (two spots adjacent to the shop.)

Great coffee shop that seems to always be very busy, but we lucked out in getting a table and didn't have a wait. The Canadiano (bonus points for not calling it Americano) was excellent. I had the bacon and egg croissant, which was delicious. Bacon was thick and a bit chewy, but not overpowering. The wife had a butternut squash soup which had a really nice curry kick, and was served with some delicious soft bread. The lemon babke was great too. Definitely recommend, but be prepared to wait a bit because it was very busy!

Love the vibe of this place. Eclectic feel, little Dino 🦕 figurines hidden everywhere, excellent vegan options. Had the BLT and made it vegan. They added seitan bacon and avocado. Every ingredient was thoughtfully seasoned. Plenty of plant milk options available. Highly recommend.

Today I had fish and chips for the first time in about 8 years, and it was delicious. My husband, a happy gluten eater had it as well, and agreed it was some of the best fish and chips he's ever had, gluten free or not.

On the advice of a friend we stopped in here and we were not disappointed. The location is tiny and super busy, the staff are friendly and really helpful. As this is a gluten free spot they gave us tips on some of the products and reheating the items we were taking home. We were a bit late to try the cinnamon rolls (which was what brought us in)so we’ll be back for those. The pizza crust, cookies and danish we bought were great.

A very cool concept for a cafe. Certainly highlights the importance for inclusiveness in such restricted diets. They have a large selection of baked goods to choose from which was really great to see. They were all helpfully labelled to indicate if they were dairy free or gluten free. I would recommend this cafe for anyone who has the dietary needs. My only gripe is that there is a lack of pricing on each item. Overall the staff were friendly and service was 👍

Today is my first time here and I'm super impressed! I've only been eating gluten free for a few weeks and this was an absolute treat! I got a chicken burger and onion rings. They were better than any fast food place I've been before finding out I'm celiac! I can't wait to come back and try more things!

As someone who has been gluten-free for years, I understand the feeling of going to a restaurant and searching for what you can eat instead of what you want to eat. Odell's is a safe space for the gluten-free community where you don't need to worry about cross-contamination. There bakery items are unique and worth the cost. Their restaurant items are fairly priced provide diverse menu options. The staff is excellent and is always willing to answer any questions and provide outstanding service. 10/10 recommend you visit!

Their savory danishes are my top choice! They have limited cafe drink options, but have the staples. And that's OK cus the pastries and lunch combos are the stars of the show. I have always found seating for at least 2 people between 10 and 12, and 2 and 4pm without issue. So a great meeting place for catching up with friends, colleagues, or clients. May you be blessed with the timing of visiting them while they are baking chocolate cakes. That aroma!

I got a Vanilla Strawberry cake from The Bread Lounge for Mother’s Day, and it was a total hit! All the moms absolutely loved it—the flavor was light, fresh, and just the right amount of sweet. Everyone kept asking where the cake was from! It looked beautiful too, perfect for the occasion. Definitely going back to The Bread Lounge for our next celebration.

I recently had the pleasure of having the Vanilla Strawberry cake. The icing on the cake was a smooth, whipped vanilla buttercream. Had a fabulous experience at Marble Slab. This outlet is at Lacewood Drive plaza. Hence loads of parking space. If you're craving for some ice creams imagining any flavor this is a go to stop. You will have numerous flavors to choose for your ice cream and they'll mix it well with your toppings be it fruits, cookies, chocolate, sprinkles, gummies. The ambiance inside is joyful with several seats, you can have your ice cream there or come out with it. You get an option to choose the cone, or cup for your Icecream. The price is reasonable. The staff is extremely supportive and approachable. I would highly recommend this place to have ice cream with friends and family or can even eat alone.

It was our favourite ice cream for a long time. The variety of toppings is great, the price is fair but the last time we went Sept 2021 the ice cream was kept cold enough. It was like a frozen soup right from the start. Look closely at my photos and its like that even in the fridges.

Update: the owner let me know that the cake i received was not correctly made and we got another filled with double Mixin's! Yay. Everything about service and ordering was great. But i got a peanut butter cup ice-cream cake and I'm SO bummed. There is nothing in the cake???? If youre ordering an ice-cream cake be prepared to get JUST an ice cream cake. Solid chocolate ice-cream. Theres nothing in it. Really disappointed for $40. Ive had lots of marble slab in store and its awesome so i was really shocked to find nothing in there.

When my husband went to pick it up, they didn’t have the order- I had forgotten to send the order in 🫣. The staff madly worked to build my mom her favourite birthday cake for her birthday dinner. That's was good but not much. It's totally not worth 7$ a cone of ice cream. Also, because they mixed everything in a plate...everything is melted so annoying. It was cool to try but don't recommend it.

We had our Christmas dinner from Jane’s. It was so good. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and generous portions. We even had leftovers for Boxing Day. It was nice to not have spent 2 days in the kitchen!

These sandwiches used to be made fresh daily, but that doesnt seem to be the case anymore. The "fresh artisan bread" was most definitely stale. The lettuce, wilted and soft. The amount and quality of the meat was questionable and even a bit sour? I took two bites and stopped eating cause it was so bad. Definitely not worth $10+ dollars.

Jane's recently catered a birthday party for 30 people with beautifully presented platters. Ordering through the website was incredibly easy, they were extremely professional and attentive to an allergy. They delivered the food to our location and it could not have been more straightforward. Hot and cold dishes were delicious and all guests raved about the food. I would definitely have them cater future events.

Jane's provided a catered dinner and dessert for us for my mother's birthday party this year! Jovaria was lovely to work with and the kitchen was extremely accommodating with our dietary restrictions. The serving sizes were huge and there were rave reviews from the party guests! We will definitely order from Jane's again!

Food was very tasty and interaction with staff was great! Very friendly and personable. The only reason I give 4/5 is because the portion sizes are a bit smaller than I expected. We ordered the family bundle and felt it was moreso suited for a couple. Also… probably an oversight on my part and no effect on the rating… the website has a section called “Jane’s frozen” so I figured the bundles listed above were not frozen but they are 😅 . Wasn’t a big deal but just an fyi in case anyone else has mom brain! Food definitely super tasty!! Just wish there was more of it!

We recently ordered birthday dinner for 10 from 'jane's'. The food was good (especially the Black Tiger Shrimps + farfalle). The staff were friendly and helpful. We were unfortunately surprised by a very large bug in one of the meals. The owner was impolite and unpleasant - as was the beef stir fry which included the large bug. An unfortunate end to a heretofore pleasant experience. Staff = 5 stars. Meal = 4 stars. Owner + bug = 0 stars.

Jane's soba noodle bowls are the highlight of my weekly lunches. One of the best healthy yummy and filling dishes. Plus all their sweets cater to all dietary needs without compromising taste or texture. Definitely recommend stopping by Jane's when you need a quick treat or great lunch.

My friend and I went to Ori Foods yesterday for a nice brunch and found the food was beyond expectations. My friend ordered the octopus on the special menu and I got a lamb flatbread. Both of us enjoyed the food from the first bite. The flatbread tasted crunchy and juicy; the green onions and the sour cream on top added to the richness of the sauce, which I used a piece of croissant to save and savor. And the croissant was wonderful too!

We finally checked out Ori Foods this weekend and it’s a very cute spot. Super small but done nice and the server we had ,(a recent hire), was very nice. My girl and I were super hungry and when I looked online I felt like this place wasn’t too expensive and would be a good choice for a quick and delicious lunch. Unfortunately the portions here are very small. I noticed they had Lemon Tarts that looked amazing so we promptly ordered two of those and a couple sandwiches to share. The Lemon Tarts came first so we started with dessert and they are one of the best lemon tarts I’ve had. Basically a perfect 5/5 on those even though they are kinda small for $7; the size is made up for by the flavour and fresh strawberries on top! We shared the breakfast sandwich and the Brisket on Rye, so half of each for my girl and I, and we left hungry. The breakfast sandwich was kinda bland with a really nice bun and the Brisket on Rye was tasty but super thin and I felt it was difficult to get a good bite without all the meat coming out at once. I don’t feel I got a great value for the >$50 I spent on lunch but I did enjoy the tart and might return for dessert and coffee. I also don’t really like paying/tipping before I get my food/experience a place. Sides with the sandwiches and bigger portions for slightly more cost would be nice and maybe all-day breakfast on weekends since they close at 4pm and breakfast is 9am-11am. 5/5 for dessert, 5/5 on ambiance, 5/5 customer service, 2/5 on each sandwiches, 2/5 value. Overall a 3.5/5 but google doesn’t allow partial stars so I’m giving a 3/5 based on how hungry I was after lunch and feeling rather disappointed about it.

A great creative dish and a great service. Unexpected to have such a high quality food at a little cafe. Only 4 tables are available inside and some customers are not mindful about other customers waiting at the door and take their time to enjoy lingering. Unagi (eels) crepe was a fantastic dish and very affordable for what it is. Definitely go back. Wish it was on the other side of the bay;).

Tart and Soul is an incredible cafe run by two of the best people you could know. Their business is a blueprint of what all businesses should strive for. They are community builders and have endless support for other local businesses, employees and patrons. They have set the standard of how to run a business. It also helps that everything they produce is absolutely incredible. The butter tarts are divine, the famous cinnamon buns are to die for, and their breakfast snacks are *chefs kiss*.

The best crust I've had is on the T&S butter tart. And I've had a lot of crusts in my 35 years in case there is question about my comparison set. Have tried nearly all their desserts and have always been very happy. Coffee is hot and lots. Friendly staff, all 3 I have met. Even morsel of any edible item that I’ve consumed has been absolutely delicious. T&S Hungry Ma’am and Gobbler pies are on the top of our favourites list. Ohhhh and the specialty birthday cakes are like nothing you can imagine until you experience. Everyday treats and great coffee in the cafe are always delicious and served with a smile. Do yourself a favour and visit Tart & Soul, you and your tastebuds will not be disappointed. IYKYK

The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Setting is nice to work in and grab a sandwich and a latte to fuel your needs. Happy tummy items: soup of the day, cookies, sandwich cookies (oh my God these babies are unbelievable, bagel sammies) Not so happy tummy items: pecan pie (too many pecans compared to the pie filling), butter tarts, cinnamon bun (not as moist as expected) All in all worth a visit :)

This is a wonderful little hidden gem. We loved the teas, coffees, and pastries. Lots of fresh made products, and no matter what you select, you won't be disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff.

Nice bakery!! 1. Pastries are amazing. Texture and the balance of taste seem to be the top level in Halifax. However, coffee is just ok which means it is little bit better than Tim Hortons. 2. The vibes of this bakery is pretty good. I recommend the patio. 3. The price is reasonable. I highly recommend here. This bakery must be better than other competitors.

Wonderful place - delicious pastry - warm atmosphere! I usually don't write reviews, but I am a regular customer here, so couldn't miss a chance to leave my review. Atmosphere is absolutely filled with warmness and cheerfulness - wonderful for bold morning coffee as well as cup of tea during the rainy day. Although the service might not be the most personalized, however only because it is partially patisserie shop and cafe, I am truly fascinated with the speed and accuracy of the staff taking great care of such high flow of customers. Not to forget their variety of pastry and bread products - you can always find something for your special moment. Thanks!

Great coffee, huge cafe au lait, tasty croissants, and unique cinnamon buns. The croissant sandwich was tasty but a little expensive at $6.95. The cinnamon bun dough felt similar to the croissant which I found very interesting. Friendly staff, and a very cozy, warm cafe.

Amazing Americano (my wife says the best!) Wonderful desserts and food! Latte tastes great, but needs to be hotter. You can always ask for "extra hot" if you are concerned about that. Love this place and everything about it!!!

My favorite bakery and café! Delicious pastries and great coffee. We pick-up a box of different pastries every now and then and they are so good. Lovely atmosphere inside as well. The workers are fast and efficient - they work very hard. Definitely will be going back. Hopefully they expand in the future as they seem very popular!

This is my new favourite place. I’ve never had a bad thing from here. The pastries are amazing. The sourdough is fantastic. Had the Easter box and it was delicious. Tonight we had the lemon pistachio cake for Mother’s Day dessert and it was a huge hit. The owner is always so nice and the staff are super. I’m gushing but I mean it. This place is always packed and I’m so happy to see their success. I hope that means they’re around for a long time!!!

This bakery/cafe is absolutely incredible. The owner/staff are friendly and professional, even when the place is lined up out the door. The food here is always fantastic, which is why I'm a customer. I'm a consistent tipper when I dine in, as I believe in rewarding good service. That said, I was taken aback when picking up a takeout order to find a strong expectation for a tip. I've always understood tipping to be optional, primarily for table service. “Having it addressed at checkout felt inappropriate. “ I still love your food but wanted to share this feedback on the takeout process.

3 times a week here at least, love my ice latte and sandwich here. This place is busy and popular for good reasons, is very interesting to see how people just giving bad reviews of Sold out of sandwichs, the owner and staff are awesome. Is easy for giving a 1 star review cause Few seconds on keyboard But actually bringing in a good business for the community is hard in this economic with high inflation food cost etc. Keep the good work up small business owners

It’s very busy on Sat. Pastries are good but cake are too North American like…quite sweet and heavy. Wish they had light whipping cream + custard with fruits, healthy choices. Good atmosphere. Average price - $7-8. $5 for a plain croissant.

This little cafe on Almon street is wonderful! They lured me in with the scent of delicious cinnamon baked goods. They offer a range of beverages and they bake all of their pastries in house so they are very fresh. The egg sandwich is hearty and yummy! If you’re looking for a local cafe to support please put this one on your list. You won’t be disappointed!

Ordered a matcha white chocolate cookie and an iced matcha latte with oat milk. The cafe was very cozy, they played great music, and the staff were nice! The iced matcha latte was a pretty average, I felt as though I tasted more milk than the matcha. The cookie was great though! Not too sweet.

Everything was perfect in this small café! Definitely recommended! Food and beverages are outstanding, plus the service is top notch. We ordered coffee and matcha latte. Both were prepared with care and tasted amazing. Probably the best matcha latte I've tried in a long time. And the cinnamon roll? Just perfect too!

my favourite cafe in the entire city. the staff are so beyond lovely and welcoming!! food is absolutely fantastic, the baked goods are just phenomenal, and the coffee is increeedible. if you’re in the north end, this is a must visit. highly recommend an espresso tonic w/lemon juice :) they also offer a free drink w/beans purchase!

Suda Table is an absolute gem! We tried the salmon roll and the brie/apple sandwich — both were incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The service was fantastic; super friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Their baked goods were also a highlight — everything looked amazing, and what we tried was delicious. Paired with a great latte, it made for the perfect lunch stop. Highly recommend!

Easily on the list of best desserts in Canada so far. I'm afraid to say specifically which one because it'll likely be tried more often and It'll make it harder for me to find, but it's easily one of the best things in Halifax. Coffee, people are fantastic. A beautiful addition to the cafe surge scene, especially alongside creative cup where you can get amazing sandwich too.

I could get a cake in a cheaper price elsewhere but ordering it from Delectable Desserts was another level!! It was absolutely delicious and a cake you would want to keep having for multiple days after a birthday. I got the layered Darkside chocolate mousse, and it was perfectly layered and the frosting tasted amazing.

Delectable desserts is heavenly!! we've gotten 1 birthday white chocolate/raspberry cake & 1 birthday chocolate cheesecake and presentation and flavor always exceed our expectations. Beautifully done! And if you go pick up your order in person, get ready to leave wishing you had bought more desserts!!

My new favourite spot for dessert! I have ordered from Delectable Desserts twice, and they have significantly exceeded my expectations each time. The cupcakes and mini cheesecakes are excellent. The GF/DF and vegan options are perfect. Huge shout out to the customer service here - On one occasion, I accidentally placed my order for the wrong day, and the team were able to kindly provide me an alternative dessert option and an easy refund.

We ordered cupcakes from this bakeshop for a gender reveal at work, and I have to say—the cupcakes themselves were fantastic! They were the perfect balance of flavor: not overly sweet, moist, and topped with a lovely buttercream frosting that many people complimented. The quality was definitely there, and you can tell care went into the baking. HOWEVER, I was REALLY disappointed with the delivery experience. The whole point of this order was to keep the gender a surprise, but unfortunately, that moment was taken away. The delivery person handed the box to a coworker while I was busy and left the receipt attached, which highlighted and clearly stated the color of the buttercream and spoiled the reveal. It would’ve made a huge difference if the delivery person had confirmed who placed the order and left the receipt out of sight. That small oversight ruined what was supposed to be a special and memorable moment. Great cupcakes—but PLEASE be more mindful in the future when handling time-sensitive or surprise-related orders.

We recently ordered cupcakes with Delectable Desserts for a very special occasion. They were absolutely perfect! Right after opening up the box, we were totally impressed with the beautiful presentation. These cupcakes were just incredibly decorated. Each one of them was like a small piece of art. We had a sampling of a number of flavors, all of which were successes. The cakes were incredibly moist and light, sweet but not too sweet. The frosting was very smooth and creamy, full of flavor, not too sweet, and complemented the cake. Delectable Desserts really made our occasion special. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality really showed in every single bite. The service was great. The hospitality of the staff, warm and accommodating, showed in their passion for the job. They made sure everything was perfect with our ordered dish and delivered it on time, hence making the experience seamless and a joyful one. In short, we could not be more pleased with our Delectable Desserts cupcakes. They were truly the star dessert of the show at our special party, and our friends and family just loved them. We would enthusiastically recommend Delectable Desserts to any event a client wants to add a touch of sweet and classy to. Five stars all the way!

AMAZING!! We ordered the mini cake sampler and the mini cheesecake sampler as a treat for my Grandmother’s birthday. We emailed with Melissa a few times to arrange a delivery time and to have a note printed inside the box, as we are out of province and couldn’t be there to gift the cakes ourselves. We feel they went above and beyond with this service and it really was the metaphorical icing on the cake.. they even added a pretty little ribbon! My Grandmother LOVED this sweet treat and has been ranting about them ever since. Looks like we’ll be back next year! Highly recommended!!

They always make my most beautiful dark chocolate espresso cake every year for my birthday. I would never go anywhere else. They use real ingredients like butter, cream and real dark chocolate. No fake fillers. Absolutely top drawer. I know of no other bakery that could even come close and if so then please share!!

Everything I've tried here is a 10/10. So delicious and worth the money. Sad that they aren't closer to me. The 7 macarons and 3 chocolate fish were only $19! Update: Everything is still delicious 😋 Had the sorbet today and it was to die for!!! So yummy and the nest way to end a day at the beach. Another update: I have yet to try something that I didn't like. This place is a gem and the owner is too. If you like delicious ice cream, sorbet and sweets (too many to name) then come here!!!

Saw Gourmandises Avenue on Taste of Nova Scotia and had to go try... And to say we are in love is an understatement. We got some macarons and an opera cake. They are all AMAZING! I will be recommending this spot to everyone - a must try!

The ice cream was AMAZING! I tried pistachio and praline and they were so great. This shop is full of amazing treats! We sat outside at some picnic tables and had a lovely time, definitely worth visiting!

I'm very disappointed with the pies I've bought the last couple of times. For thanksgiving I got a pumpkin and apple crumble pie, and while the apple was good the pumpkin was severely underwhelming, barely any filling and overheard one of my guests refer to it as new york style. I got another apple crumble pie for another event and while it looked good opening the box, topped up to the crust with toppings, a cross section shows it should just be called crumble pie. Again barely any filling. For $16 a pie I was expecting something a little more gourmet, not something I could have gotten out of the freezer bunker at gateway for 1/4 the price.

The best little hometown bakery and deli/cafe! Excellent selection of hand picked European goods, pastries and coffee. Delicious sandwiches and catering! We go at least once a week as a family for a treat or lunch. Thanks for bringing such a wonderful spot to our little community!

Really lovely coffee shop and desserterie. It is nicely decorated, staff is very lovely as well. The chaï latte, with an add of pumpkin spice syrup for the fall lovers like me (even in spring), was delicious. Same for the lemon turnover, it was amazing. Would be even greater if it had a bike stand since it is nearby a trail, but still a really nice stop ! :)

Honey cake is fine, but it isn't the taste of childhood. May be a great choice for those who doesn't eat super sweet cakes, it is light, not too sweet. Strong flavor of honey and no nuts. The bakery itself looks pretty empty and has no place to sit and eat in.
