Delicious pastries! The tiny gelato sandwich and delizia pistachio cake were so tasty. And the cannolicchio was perfect! Great coffee too.

After trying many cannolis in Palermo, I can confidently say this was by far the best. In addition to their amazing cannolis, we sampled a variety of mignons and an iris — and everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was wonderful too, filled with local workers grabbing a quick bite and kids returning from school, which made it feel genuinely authentic. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. We had food elsewhere in Palermo that was half as good for twice the price. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting — I honestly wish I could eat here every day.

Amazing. Pastries as beautiful as they are delicious. Good coffee, lovely chocolate. Friendly, decent prices, and they deliver to a lot of restaurants too, like the excellent Osteria Alivàru. If I lived near to this place I'd either be huge or I'd have vitamin deficiency. Not a lot of veg here.

While the cakes themselves were nice, the man who served us was rude. Obnoxious clearly into his phone more than serving us and being somewhat stuck up with my friend's best attempt to speak Italian seemingly consistently misunderstanding which cake she wanted, one or two pieces of. He then proceeded to play with his phone as he was half wrapping our package and generally seemed just annoyed at our existence. The taste of cakes was definitely not worth the attitude that we were given in this place

Great place for a coffee and something to nibble. Amazing croissants with pistachios and the best arancini in the city. I highly recommend arancini with carne (beef).

Pasticceria Cappello is truly the best sweet shop in Palermo. The quality of their baked goods is outstanding, and I absolutely love it. Every time I stay in Palermo, this place makes me fall in love with the city even more. I ended up going there every day to enjoy their delicious cakes and pastries. Highly recommended!

Local cafe/pastry shop. Came here to check if it’s actually the best cannoli in Palermo. Maybe in Palermo it may be the best but i’ve had better. Everyone may like their cannolis in many ways. Their cannoli was different. Did taste authentic. Coffee was good. Service was good, staff were friendly. The best part is this shop is local so the prices are not that expensive. 1 cannoli & a coffee for 2.5 euro! They have alot of variety I would visit again! Highly recommend.

We ate there breakfast around 9 am and it was the delicious and cheep. Staff speaks english and the service was nice. Food was amazing and fresh, perfect for a quick breakfast near the city centre

We stopped off for a coffee lovely atmosphere, staff are super friendly especially the lady. We had a couple of limoncello spritz here and they kindly gave us some snacks with it. The bread was amazing and fresh. Prices wore very reasonable. Really recommend

We were staying in an apartment down the road from this place and had breakfast here every day. Their cappuccino was great and also their pastries and paninis. The lady working here was also very nice. I can recommend this place for your daily Colazione.

Without exaggerating, this is the best pistachio granita I ever had!! It did not taste artificial at all, but actually had tiny pieces of pistachio in there and was so wholesome in flavor! This made my day!

Great coffee and granita place in the city center. We had coffee granita and iced coffee, both really good - not too sweet, not too watery, the flavor was just right and refreshing. It is also nice to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the streets of Palermo. The service was a bit slow, but there were a lot of people, so it is understandable. Sadly I cannot agree with the many good reviews. As a coffee professional myself, I ve to say pretty much everything was off on a sensory level. The interior is nice though.

We did not have an appointment for a tour of this coffee museum, but Mr Morettino himself was so very kind to take time out of his day to spontaneously and personally show us around. He took us on a detailed journey through the history and origins of Morettino Coffee (the brand of coffee we personally enjoyed the most in Sicily, hence our visit to the roastery). The coffee museum contains a beautifully curated collection of all things coffee-related and also gives you full insight into Morettino's current production site. The whole tour reflected Mr Morettinos endless passion for his craft. It was a wonderful experience to learn about the step by step process from coffee bean origins to your great cup of Italian espresso. I can fully recommend a visit to the Morettino production site in Palermo, which houses the above mentioned coffee museum and school of coffee. They also offer barista courses and general educational courses on the history of coffee. Mr Morettino and his staff were very hospitable and accomodating despite our spontaneous show-up, but I strongly advice to make an appointment beforehand if you plan to visit.

Loved the place. The atmosphere is amazing. I ordered desserts and some cookies to go. It was nice. During Christmas holidays it was quite busy and the staff was handling it with a nice smile on their face. You can stay there and enjoy ur time while eating some amazing dessert and drinks.

The panini and coffee were good, and the waiter was friendly and attentive despite a language barrier. Some details could be improved, such as cleaner cutlery and serving water in a proper glass instead of a plastic cup. Overall, a relaxed café that feels more like 3.5 stars, but I’ll round it up to 4

Spinnato dal 1860, an old-school cafe in Palermo on a beautiful tree-lined pedestrian street, is the perfect place for an afternoon drink, a snack, or an aperitivo before dinner. - as well as great people watching! They also have a more modern cafe on the Piazza Castelnuovo, right across the street from the Politeama Theatre.

Great quality and delicious treats, quick and excellent service, affordable prices. A lovely cafe located in a beautiful area. Would definitely recommend this place!

The arancini’s were okay, the coffee was good, the devils food cake was dry and too sweet. The waiter was a bit rude, got our order wrong and still tried to charge us for the extra thing we didn’t order. I wouldn’t recommend, nor would I return.

This cafe has been in operation since 1860. Inside, you have a candy store, full cakes, pastries, ice creams, and dessert sections. Outside, there is a large covered patio. We were served by different servers, which caused a long delay when asking for the bill. Coffee was OK and the desserts freshly made and a bit too sweet.

Really good service and very tasty! Vicenzo was very helpful and recommended us what to try as it was our first time in Sicily. Will definitely come back next time!

Love this place. Tourism can be so simple. Perfect place to watch people in the immaculate backdrop of the cathedral. Quality is fine, prices more than fair, location considered (Spritz with complementary crisps 6 Euro, water 2 Euro). Service quick and helpful.

The canoli and bread with chocolate chips tasted so good! The creme in canoli was so fresh with citron or orange based scent. Although the bar was quite busy in the morning, it seemed like it was connected to some accomodation nearby, so groups of people visited which led to queues.

Cioccolateria Lorenzo is a fantastic spot for chocolate and coffee lovers in Palermo. We were searching for a good café and ended up in a place that truly delivers on indulgence. Their chocolate cakes were absolutely delicious, and both the cappuccino and the chocolate drink were excellent. Just a heads-up—the hot chocolate is so rich and dense, it’s practically a full meal. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great stop for anyone with a sweet tooth. We didn’t try the pralines, but they looked top-quality. If you’re craving a coffee break with a serious chocolate upgrade, this place is definitely worth a visit.

A sadly disappointing experience. The mud cake was dry and lacking in flavour. The point of a mud cake is to be more wet (like mud), the opposite of dry, so that was a shame. The double chocolate mousse was weird; you would expect 'double chocolate' to be 'a lot of chocolate', but it tasted mostly like raspberry. It was, in that sense, slightly interesting and unique, which I can appreciate, but a different name would have been better. The carrot cake's flavour was fine enough, but it was dry and felt like it had been in the fridge for a few days, it didn't taste fresh. The white chocolate milk was too sweet; the first moment of tasting it, it tasted nice, but then the sweetness overwhelmed any flavour. The dark chocolate - well, look at the picture, it looks like milk chocolate. I asked to add chili to it (to enrich the flavour of the dark chocolate), but there were just some supermarket chili flakes on the top. We liked the creaminess/thickness of the chocolate milk, but in general it felt and tasted more like a molten chocolate bar than professional chocolate milk. All in all, I would be completely fine with this in a random restaurant, but I expect better in a cioccolateria. The place is also very chaotic; loud, cramped, hot (inside), waiters don't really pay attention to you out of their own initiative... The first time we came inside, lacking any menu, greeting, or anything, we eventually decided to ask a waiter, who distractedly said it was better to come back another time, so then we just left - but when we came back the next day in the morning, it still felt the same. Our cakes were eventually delivered at the same time, but after that it took about ten more minutes to receive our hot chocolate milk - and mine was already cold when it was delivered... Not how a cioccolateria should feel.

This is a lovely cafe located right next to the church of La Martorana. There are several outdoor tables surrounded by shrubs with each table having a real plant which is nice. We popped in for a light breakfast of a croissant and Danish style pastry. It has an extremely varied menu of coffees of which I chose Pistachio which was fantastic. 😋 There is also some choices of teas too. There is, of course, a large selection of food to accompany the coffees, though not all were available on our visit. Service is fine.

Great for a hearty protein filled breakfast with for somebody who has gluten free requests. My breakfast was salmon , eggs, veggies and cheese and was a perfect day to start a busy day of biking and walking. Many other places only have pastries so I was happy to find this place! And they open early.

I recently visited a charming café in Palermo, and I must say it was a delightful experience . The coffee was absolutely excellent, rich and perfectly brewed . I tried the pistachio-filled croissant, which was simply wonderful, and the iris with ricotta was equally delicious . The café itself is very beautiful , offering plenty of seating and a cozy , inviting atmosphere . Its location is also very convenient, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a treat . Considering this is 200m away from one of the busiest streets in Palermo, this spot it SO quiet. We stayed in a small apartment around the corner and this became our regular coffee/croissant spot. I can HIGHLY recommend the coffee and pistachio croissants - and if you’re lucky you may bag a table in the street under the lemon trees 🍋

This place was recommended by our apartment hosts, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It’s clearly very popular and busy at all times of day. Very small inside but there are a few tables outside. I was delighted to see a good selection of non-dairy milks, including Oatly, which made the coffees fantastic. The pastries were absolutely top-notch – the croissants wouldn’t be out of place in a Paris patisserie. The flaky ricotta "croissant" was fantastic, and the donut freshly filled with cream for us was a real treat. A wonderful spot, very much recommended!

These were easily the best arancini we had during our entire Sicily trip! 👌❤️ Loved the vibes here, it was busy both times we came, but we still managed to get a table. FAVORITE SPOT IN PALERMO. My boyfriend and I went back every day on our trip. We loved it so much. The arancini is OUT OF THIS WORLD. It’s made fresh and packed with flavour. I can only say the best about this place. Coffee in Sicily is always great, but this one was exceptionally good. The cannolo filled with fresh ricotta and the lemon granita were out of this world, absolutely delicious 🤤. If I were in Palermo again, I’d gladly wait in the queue for this experience.

I visited Vago Rizzuto Specialty Coffee and tried both an espresso and a doppio. I asked for 100% Arabica in both, but unfortunately only the espresso was, while the doppio turned out to be a blend that I didn’t enjoy as much. On the other hand, I also had a cannoli, a sandwich, and a chocolate croissant that wasn’t available in the display but they kindly offered to prepare it fresh on the spot. All of them were very good and fresh. Overall, it’s a place worth recommending: high-quality products, passionate people, and a genuine love for coffee. Mistakes happen, but the experience was still positive.

The VAGO specialty coffee shop, located to the side of the San Domenico Church, is one of the hidden gems of Palermo, Giuseppe, the owner, continues his family’s tradition of Sicilian gastronomy yet solely focused on the breakfast experience. VAGO is the only place in a sea of tourist traps that one should start their day at. He has all the plant based milk options, even potato milk! This place is a must! Enjoy!!!!

We arrived to the place thanks to Google reviews, and we are very disappointed. We asked for a cappuccino, a croissant, one espresso and a sandwich. They gave me the croissant right away, but the cappuccino 15 minutes later. Both, the cappuccino and the coffee were dirty water, I absolutely don't recommend it. Finally, in the photo you can see half of the sandwich, which was very tiny. For me, it is a trap for tourists, and there are plenty of better places in Italy.

Yum! We ate here twice in three days it was so good. Staff was very kind and helpful with us ordering despite our language deficiency. We tried two kinds of arancini, one with meat and one with prosciutto and cheese. We also had gelato, which was probably the best I have ever had. The quality of the food is good, and the variety ensures something for everyone. Everything from savory entrees to street food to sweets to fancy cakes. Nice drinks as well. Both dine in and take away available. The staff was very helpful with food allergies.

We visited on a Saturday morning and, despite the café not being busy, the service was slow and disorganized. We waited nearly 20 minutes for a cold cappuccino and had to change our pastry order due to limited availability. The food, especially the pistachio croissant, was good, but in general the portions of food were small given the price. Most disappointing of all was the staff: they were inattentive, unprofessional, and at times rude. While the location is new and the space comfortable, the overall experience left much to be desired. We had a most enjoyable lunch on Saturday 16 December. Our Travel tour guide grew up in this area of Palermo and was familiar with this restaurant. We had 2 Aranchinis, one with meat and ragu. The other with mushrooms. Both were Delicious! Also had Pasta e fagioli and salmon pasta. Serving sizes were enormous! Their pastries were yummy! All of the staff were very nice! Wish we could dine here all the time.

It was my go-to cafe when I stayed in Palermo. It can be tricky when you're a foreigner, as not always you feel welcome, but the staff here is lovely. Never waited too long for a coffee and they have nice selection of pastries! The inside decor is also interesting - like a retro coffee spot - I found it very cosy. Most staff don't speak english so I do recommend to learn a few words to make ordering easier.

What a little gem of a cafe! The staff there is excellent, coffee is a good size (which for tourists like us is often a problem unless you go to a chain) so I'm happy to say we were recommended a flat white and it's delicious. The restaurant was very quiet (mid November). I enjoyed the pasta with sardines - nicely presented and very tasty, The house wine was palatable too. The swordfish involtini I found to be somewhat bland, but on the whole it was a nice mal.

I'd give this a 4.5. Food was excellent. Amazing pizza and traditional baked sicilian pasta. Staff was attentive and very accommodating. It was a bit warm inside which was the only issue. Fine for me but not for everyone. Would highly recommend!

Stopped in for a couple appetizers and some pasta. It was less than 1 hour before closing but they were nice enough to seat us and didn’t rush us at all. The staff were very friendly and patient. We had the mussels, the eggplant, and the pasta with meat sauce. The eggplant was a little on the cold side and it came out pretty quickly so I can only assume it was prepared in advance and just not heated up enough. I felt the mussels were a little firm and perhaps overcooked a little. The pasta with meat sauce was quite nice. A good portion size and pasta was cooked just right. The presentation was good and the ambiance was nice.

The best place to try authentic Sicilian cuisine.. The decor of the restaurant is unique, staff friendly and helpful and of course the dishes are exquisite 👌🏼 we have tried the varieties of fish plates and I particularly recommend pasta with prawns and pistachio- I loved it! Total must if you want to try real local food.

Balata is a slightly upscale bistrot, offering a variety of Sicilian dishes with many seafood options. We really enjoyed our starters (i fritelli and la bruschetta) but were less enthused with our mains (norma gratin and shellfish spaghetti). The restaurant is lovely inside- very modern and stylish. It was clean and facilities were available for public use. I would reccomend a visit if you are in the area and fancy a calmer, indoor meal.

Situated opposite the Teatro Massimo, Ruvolo is a reasonable place to have breakfast. Two cappuccini and two croissants came to 10 euros - which is about the average price for breakfast in most places in Palermo. The setting is what makes it a pleasant place to eat.

The food was really delicious — the calzone, croissant, and coffee were all amazing. Prices are not expensive overall. However, when it came time to pay, the waiter just told us a price without showing a receipt. I found that a bit suspicious and asked for one — it turned out to be €6 less than what he first said. So just a HEADS-UP!!! : double-check the bill and ask for one!! Otherwise, great taste and good atmosphere!

Cafe and snack bar with a beautiful view of the Massimo Theater. The food is delicious, I recommend croissants and ham, cheese and salsa toast. I do not recommend cold coffee, you will get espresso in crushed ice, obviously the problem is in the cultural difference. So the food is to be commended, however the whole facility is served by only one waiter who is kind but can’t get everything by himself and the service is late. Too bad, I think employers should work on that if they want to maintain a good reputation. Also a little bit expensive place to be served like that.

A very nice discovery. I've often strolled along here and today I wanted to give it a try. There is more than bread, the name suggests a limitation here. My Greek salad was ok, the sheep's cheese in it was very good. If there had been a real menu to touch, I would probably have ordered and tried one or two other things. Having to select dishes using a QV code: absolutely inelegant and counterproductive. I have quite a few friends who avoid such restaurants as a matter of principle. I can understand that very well. I feel the same way: I want to savour what's on offer, not scroll through it on my smartphone! There are, important plus point: several open wines! Unfortunately, the water comes in plastic bottles (so more dead than alive), but at least the water glass is made of glass (a rarity in Palermo, where people drink from plastic pee cups all the time). As beautiful as this city is, as friendly and welcoming as the people are, the mass preference for plastic (and its disposal on the pavements and in every flowerpot) is so disdainful and polluting.

The place is a bit small (not sure if there is a second floor because I sat in the ground floor), so it may get a little crowded in some seasons. Overall, it’s a very nice place for an evening coffee with friends. Recommended!

The best, warmest service!!! The sandwiches were very good, the buns were perfect texture! I would recommend getting the ice latte without the caramel syrup however, given that it is too high density and doesn't properly blend into the coffee.

As a digital nomad, it is important for me to find a cafe I work out of. Palermo doesn't have a lot of laptop-friendly cafes. This is one of them. It had great wifi, wonderful food selections (their salads are amazing), and enough sitting space. You can sit inside or outside. Also it's close to a lot of sights. So you can easily stop here while sightseeing.

Lovely cafe! Kind staff, lovely surroundings. Food was perfect - I loved the fresh chocolate muffin that was served warm. Good for getting some work done on the Laptop too. Highly recommend this warm, hospitable place :)

They say cappuccino kills the taste of coffee. Nevertheless, this was the most delicious cappuccino of my life. The café was founded in 1950 by the father of the current owner. It’s amazing. There are no tables inside, only an old antique counter — and nothing more is needed. We took our coffee and sat in the shade on the opposite side on a parapet. By 12 pm, there was no pastry left except for two classic brioches, so if you want something to snack on, come earlier. The owner speaks very little English, and the place is full of locals He washes the cups very thoroughly, but without soap. That was a bit surprising. But I understand him — he makes coffee and washes cups all day long.

This was the best coffee I’ve had in Palermo. You can truly feel how much care and attention they put into every cup — from the aroma to the presentation, everything was flawless. Both the cappuccino and the espresso were exceptional, and the prices were very fair for the quality.

Really bad experience! The head waiter wouldn’t let me eat a gelato in the veranda while my dining companion was having his meal. We even offered to order two portions of food just so I could have my brioche with gelato, but he still refused. I understand that during lunchtime the veranda is probably more profitable for the company if used for bigger meals, but I found it very disappointing that I had to sit there with nothing while the other person ate, and then eat my brioche outside in a corner afterwards. Very disappointing and unfriendly service.

The ice cream was delicious. The coffee was good. I didn’t try the savory items, as they didn’t open my appetite. The place was busy. I was walking around Mondello Beach looking for a good cassata and checked out several places, but none of them looked quite right. When I passed by this shop, though, I instantly had a good feeling — and I was right! The cassata was absolutely delicious — not too sweet, with a perfect balance between the cake and the cream. The vibe inside is cozy and a little old-fashioned, which I really liked. The only thing I’d love to see improved is the service — just a bit more attention would make it perfect. Still, I’m so glad I came here. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Mondello and craving a real cassata! 🍰🇮🇹

This place is quite old school and a bit sad. The main reason for the two stars is that they throw everything on the floor outside - plastic cups, serviettes, straws, etc. It is disgusting as it is right next to the sea and the wind blow everything into it. So sad and a lack of respect for nature.

Historic bar with amazing salty food! For my point of view the best arancina that I tried in Palermo. If you go in the morning you can find many salty foods! I suggest to try the calzone fritto! Writing bad reviews Is not something I do often (everyone cam have a worse day...) But what I saw when visiting local toilets? One of the worst experience ever - broken door, no soap, no toilet paper, dirty and dusty walls, leaking water tap. I always follow the rule - the same way they take care about the toilets they also run the kitchen. So thank you, I would not eat there.

Excellent bar at Piazza Indipendenza. Everything was great! Go there for the real Palermo, most of the custumers are locals who live nearby. It’s a Palazzo Normanni quarter who serves breakfast, snacks, lunch, patisserie and anything else you can think of. We went there for breakfast, the fresh orange juice is delicious. Try the cornetti, because they are to die for. Of course you can also go there at any other time of the day.

Came here for dessert and coffee after having Arancina across the road. We had cassatina, biscotti and macchiati. The place is an absolute vibe — men serving behind the counter and bar in suits and bow ties, pokies and lottery in the corner. We sat and marvelled at the place while we ate our delicious little sweets. A true little gem.

In Ruvolo Cafe I indulged in something that was basically a brioche bun with two scoops of ice cream - dark chocolate and pistachio in my case. Service was decent and there was indoor seating.

Stopped here one evening for a quick bite to eat with my kids and a glass of wine for mom. The kids wanted some gelato after, so my 2 daughters went in, got a taste and ordered a cone. My 10 year old son then went in and asked for a taste and they would not give him one. I assumed that they just wanted a parents ok, so went back in with him. They refused to let me get a taste too! I had to stand there and argue with the guy for 5 minuets! Who doesn’t give a kid one taste before you buy ice cream?? My son was almost in tears. I have spent a lot of time in Italy and have never been treated so rudely.... the gelato was not too great either.

Cassata was ok but the cannoli and cappuccino had no flavor. There are only two tiny tables inside and the rest is outside in the rush of tourist traffic.

I asked how much per scoop in English and see if we can try the “Sicilian flavour”. Though she still gave us a try, we ended up didn’t like that and ready to buy the “Tiramisu flavour”. She then slam the gelato cabinet door and shout some Italian word to her colleagues. I am a human being too, I can immediately sensed some intensity and the embarrassment on her colleagues’ face. My family and I had just arrived in Palermo and decided to try breakfast at Grace Café Corner based on the good reviews. I don't speak Italian, I ordered in English. We ordered pancakes and coffee with milk. The pancakes were good. The coffee came wrong. They only sent me milk. I believe it was a misunderstanding between English and Italian. Which is understanding. But when I went to order coffee and explain the mistake, the two girls, one at the register and the other who was making the hot drinks, were very rude. She added the coffee to the milk I had received earlier, but it wasn't good. We didn't have a good experience, so I won't be returning or recommending this place.

My experience with the arancini at Donnafrancalab was simply fantastic. You can really tell these are crafted with care. The golden crust was beautifully crisp and dry, a sign of true quality. The filling was abundant, rich, and perfectly seasoned, making every single bite a delight. It's clear they take pride in their "laboratorio artigianale." Don't miss out on these if you're in Palermo!

Turist trap! Worst cake I ever ate in my life. I don't recommend this cake shop. I took two pistachio cakes and they were really bad. One was supposed to be a pistachio mousse and the other one pistachio mousse and chocolate mousse. There was no mouse inside and no pistachio taste. I tasted white chocolate and a lot of sugar for the first one and some chocolate for the second one. By far the worst cake I had in my life. Price is 8e per piece. If there were high quality ingredients, I would understand the price but price quality is a joke here.

I visited Donnafranca in Palermo with my husband on May 21st, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The arancini and cannoli were hands down the best we've ever had—absolutely delicious! The Aperol Spritz was also perfect, refreshing and well balanced. The service was wonderful—the waiter was especially friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Palermo!

Amazing Arancini, never seen such big variety at one place in Rome, Amalfi or other places in Italy. There were 2 choices for vegetarian- I tried Norma, huge size & it tasted delicious. Even their desserts were looking very inviting & were equally scrumptious.

Lovely, slightly larger cafè and restaurant on a very pleasant commercial street, an extension of Via Emmanuelle towards the bay. Wonderful coffees and pastries, and a nice looking but simple menu with a little something for everyone, including salads. I went back to try their Caesar Salad and it was terrific; lots of most chicken, crispy lettuce and the right amount of tasty dressing. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. They take care of you with good service and good food!

We stopped at this bakery, and I'm so happy we did! Their cannoli is out of this world. I've been eating cannoli all over Palermo for the past few days, and this was honestly the best one I've had. A lovely place for breakfast in Palermo. It is very afordable and offers a variet of different pastries and coffee. I loved the pistacho muffin! That was absolutely amazing. I also tried pistachio canoli and tarte (yes, a lot of pistachio) and the tarte with the canolo were a bit too sweet for my liking. The pistachio was mixed mostly with white chocolate and the utter sweetness made it a bit hard to finish.

The place is really close to the train station, looks cute and all of the food/drinks are delicious. Prices are very affordable. The lady who served us was a bit rude for no reason. It was the end of her shift I guess.

Ordered one hamburger with peppers and they brought me 2 hamburgers which was a lovely surprise and a treat cos I was starving. Our server was very polite and accommodating, wonderful attitude and energy. The food was delicious, I would definitely go back next time I’m in Palermo.

We have entered the shop a couple of times for a coffee or a biscuit for the kids (last time was last Friday, for me the very last time), but we've never ever had a smile or a nice word. They don't consider small children and would not talk to them for any reason, if the kids ask questions, they look at us annoyed. They make us wait for a long time before they even ask what we would like to have, even if they're not doing anything. As nice as the place looks, people make company and their staff is one of the most unprofessional and impolite in the whole city. Even if you have a very strong desire to have a coffee, just walk two more minutes and stop at Martino or Cappello: they will treat you like a human being.

We visited this place as we disembarked from our cruise ship and it was the first cafe across the street from the entrance of the docks. My daughter bought some coffee but ended up with ground coffee instead of coffee beans. When my spouse went to explain what had happened and wished for a refund, the cashier became so rude and hostile in the whole transaction, the woman had the audacity to throw money back at my spouse. Of course, a barrage of English insults were hurled back at the cashier and other people working in the premise. If this is how tourists are treated coming to your country for the first time... It will definitely be the last time. We will spend our time and money elsewhere. I would not patronize nor recommend this place to anyone unless you speak Italian.

I ordered a special Piadina with prosciutto, mozzarella lettuce and apple - unfortunately it was tasteless and the wrap was way too thick, dry. Put off by the reviews that state people were overcharged we only had two small cream pastries for takeaway ( total €4). They were still fresh and tasty when we enjoyed them for breakfast next day.
