Imano Tokyo Ginza Hostel is a laid-back accommodation offering simple dorms and private rooms. It features a hip cafe and a shared kitchen, making it an ideal choice for city-centric enthusiasts. Nestled near the bustling Tsukiji Market, the hostel provides comfortable beds with good privacy and spaciousness. The staff are known for being helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Additionally, there's a large socializing space with a bar on the second floor.
Loved the beds in this hostel the most out of all of the ones I stayed in while in Japan. Fully blocks out light and feels really private. Location is very central. I left something in the hostel and Haruka was SO helpful in getting it back for me. Seriously thankful for her!

The people who work here are extremely careless, unprofessional and have poor communication. If you are planning a trip and are looking for a place to stay, I would advise staying somewhere else rather than attempting to book with their highly irregular and unreliable website. Even if you call, it's probably best to not trust the information that you have been given. I have been waiting to make a reservation at this hostel for months as their calendar is highly irregular. We called in December or November to ask when would the calendar open for April and they didn't give us a specific date, but told us that once 2025 came, we should keep checking the calendar. I waited until Jan and the calendar didn't open for April so I emailed them and my email was ignored. We kept waiting as they opened the calendar for March but not April or later......then we called again this week to ask what was going on. Finally they said that they would be closed for the month of April. If you were going to be closed for April, why were we told four months ago to wait until January to make a reservation for April. You were given the specific dates and number of people that we were trying to make a reservation, yet we were still given incorrect information.

Cool, modern, and chill vibe with attentive staff who speak English well. I stayed in a private room on one of the floors, and it included basic amenities. Otherwise, most amenities, including towels, are rented or paid if renting a dorm. Personally, staying in a hostel wasn't for me due to some factors explained below: - Close proximity in terms of spaces and rooms: Even in a private room, there was some mild to moderate amount of noise from a next-door neighbour as well as the shared washroom right ahead of the private rooms -the room size was a small squared tatami floor room as well as the washroom was compact (not much room for opening multiple luggages at a time and even room for walking when futons were out open. Minimal storage space) -The sink inside the room was super tiny... I had to wash my face in sections to avoid splashing everywhere - Expect to be comfortable with how others use their space in the common area... mostly repectable fellows, but some weren't responsible for cleaning up or taking out their clothes from the shared washer/dryer after hours of being finished You'd just have to be comfortable with some noise and be around people of different habits and backgrounds. Good, polite, friendly, and attentive service. Security was good as they had key pads on each private room as well as the hostel entrance door. The location of the hostel was in a quiet neighborhood, which was nice. Close to Tokyo metro.

No employees will smile at you. They don't care if u go or come. No hospitality no greetings. I know this is not a 5 star hotel but still customer service matters. The manager and few employees that we encountered were never friendly. The room was tiny w no space to put anything which was ok but man this place is not worth the money. Location is ok but don't expect anything from them. Filthy kitchen the dryer is a scam that needs to be run twice to dry never going back
D P — Google review
One of the worst hostel I've ever stayed at. The front desk guy on the night shift rudely asked if I was drunk, in a very disrespectful manner in front of his staff. Unfortunately, he's not the only rude employee at this hostel. Additionally, they charge $2 for each towel, which is absurd. The quality of the shampoo and body soap provided is also terrible. The only positive aspect was that I could leave my bag and come back later after check-in, but that hardly makes up for the overall terrible experience. Beware and avoid this place at all costs.
Chris V — Google review
The hostel was incredible value for money. Clean and comfortable, with great policies in place for making sure everyone respects one another. The blackout curtains let no light through. The bunk beds were spacious enough to fit a duffel bag at my feet with room to spare (5’10”). Above everything else was the staff. I had the very stressful experience of losing my wallet on the first day, and Chloe went above and beyond to help me. Her kindness and generosity saved me so much time and stress. Even when my wallet was found and I no longer needed help, Chloe and the rest of the staff always greeted me with a smile and were very helpful. Given the impeccable cleanliness, location, thoughtful policies, and incredibly kindness, this is definitely a 10/10 stay!
Danielle P — Google review
Great hostel, clean and modern and in a good location with access to metro not too far away. I stayed in the private room for two and a shared six bed dorm and both were really good. Beds are comfortable and they offer breakfast downstairs for an extra fee too.
Tom P — Google review
Never go to this place. I registered for 3 nights but escape on the first day. Room smells so bad that I feel like throw up. And you have to pay for towels, slippers, basically everything. You can tell that No one take care of this place. it is filthy and unfunctional Please go to other options such as Apa hotel or Sotetsu fresa hotel. They offers clean room and price point is not much different from here

Imano Tokyo Hostel/Cafe&Bar Shinjuku is a laid-back accommodation option located within 10 minutes from Shinjuku Station. It caters to backpackers and offers various activities such as theme parties and happy hour, making it an ideal choice for young travelers looking to socialize. The hostel provides dormitories with curtains, bed lights, and plug outlets, as well as private rooms suitable for families or groups of friends.
Staff are super nice, they all speak fluent English. The check-in, check-out process is easy. I was worrying about the luggage problem because the review before saying that the hostel don't have the luggage storing service, but during my visit this time they do allow you to put your luggage at first floor temporarily before check-in or after check-out. So there's no need to concern about it. They offer shampoo, conditioner and body wash in shower room, but you need to prepare your own towel and toothbrush. (You can also buy it at the front desk) The room is simple and clean. I saw some people would think the soundproofing was bad, but I think it depends on the roommates and the other people you shared the same floor. During my four nights stay there, I was lucky enough to have a quite time at nights. The only inconvenience I found is the size of the room. The aisle is pretty narrow, and you won't be able to fully open your luggage. You have to pack your thing in the public space outside of the room or on your own bad. But other things are just really good. The location is great. (At least 3 convenient store within 100 meters) and it's really close to Shinjuku station. The price is also really good. Totally foreigner friendly. Definitely recommend.

If you don't know what to expect from a hostel, this is probably not going to be your first choice. However, if you are traveling on a budget and don't mind sharing a room with up to 5 other people, then this is a fairly nice place. Very friendly staff, beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, and amenities are decent. Community area on each floor, Cafe on main floor, separate floors for men and women. Not alot of spots if you need to charge multiple items, but there are areas. We didn't stay overnight as 2 in our group of 5 didn't like not being able to stay together. But from what I did see and experience, it's a good place to stay, especially if you are on a budget.
Audria G — Google review
A good breakfast. The beds were exceptional for a Japanese hostel. (Vertical instead of horizontal was the only complaint , but it was an important one for me). The beds were very soft. The hostel was very good about security, but the lock changed the layout of the numbers after every use, which was very annoying) The common room on each floor was great. They were very opposed to sexual hanky panky, which surprised me. I saw a couple get chewed out for showering together which amused me. The laundry facilities were very good and cheap.
Steven D — Google review
Four of us were supposed to stay for three nights, we checked in at 7 pm and we checked right back out around 9 pm. I’ve stayed at hostels before but was not expecting this. The staff was friendly but the pictures online make the room appear bigger than they are. The room is so narrow the only ideal luggage to bring is a backpack or a small carry on. The room was warm and it didn’t smell good. Told the staff we would not be returning and they were friendly about it - no questions were asked. They told me no refund which was expected but for not staying being out $500+ sucks especially since we paid that amount when we arrived which was only two hours of staying there. We found another sleeping accommodation elsewhere.
Vinida O — Google review
The staff may know more english than many if the other places but that just means you can understand them being blunt and rude. The rooms don't smell nice, The shoe 'locker' doesn't have locks. There is no secure luggage storage unless you pay extra for a small box that wouldn't fit my gear (I am travelling light). The AC clicked constantly making it impossible to concentrate, Someone was snoring loudly I my dorm, The beds were not made, and on the top bunks that is difficult to deal with. I paid for the breakfast service and was given a redeemable card but it was not honoured because I was a minute late getting to the cafe. The place is a hole. I had a reservation for 2 nights but I booked another hotel after realising the state of the place. If you are on a budget and desperately need a place for the night keep your belongings close, but general advice would be pick a different hostel
Kol T — Google review
Shittiest hostel ever stayed in. They dont even give you a made up bed. You have to make your own bed. They even charge for towels. Rude staff & 0 consideration. Overcharge for everything. Paid around 6000 yen per night. Absolutely not worth it
Bhavesh K — Google review
I stayed in the hostel for a week as a solo traveler. pros - great location near Shinjuku station, showers were pretty convenient, curtains in the dorms, reception. cons - no much room for luggage great value for money, I would recommend my friends to stay there.
Yuval S — Google review
I used to stay in a dormitory hostel, but this time, I somehow regret my decision to stay here. I was wondering how they could get an 8+ review on Agoda. I stayed on the 4th floor. When I checked in, they gave me a piece of paper covered with plastic that had the code to enter the building and my room. I was very uncomfortable with my room. The moment I entered, it smelled like a wet market, used shoes, and was very messy. They have one air conditioner in my room and one exhaust fan. My room was suffocating with very poor air circulation. I couldn't sleep because if I closed my curtains, it was too hot, but if I opened them, I couldn't stand the smell. They should provide a shoe rack outside the room so that the room doesn't become so cluttered.

UNPLAN Shinjuku is a trendy hostel located in the vibrant neighborhood of Shinjuku. The hostel offers streamlined and clean accommodations with a self-service concept, making it convenient for introverted travelers. It's situated close to Shinjuku and other nearby stations, providing easy access to transportation. The social atmosphere at the hostel makes it perfect for solo travelers looking to meet new people and enjoy daily events organized by the friendly staff.
Super social, awesome hostel. Never had a night with no one to hang out with. Some nights the bar is quiet, others it picks up. Good amenities, solid sleeping quarters. Never had to wait for a shower. Will absolutely come back
Mythmaker — Google review
Very cool place. Check-in is simple and user friendly, the staff help if needed. Theres laundry and a common room attached to a kitchen with a fridge. Breakfast is generic and lovely. Our experience of the rooms how ever weren’t as advertised. If you happen to get 5A be prepared to only have room to turn around. For the price we paid if we would have known this was our room we would have looked elsewhere.
Danica S — Google review
I made it a point to stay here because I wanted to meet people. I read a review that said “you will meet your people” here and it was totally true! I made some amazing friends and after traveling solo it was just what I needed. A free drink ticket for happy hour is included in your stay, and I feel like this was the only “social” aspect of the hostel. Keep in mind it is HUGE, about 5-6 floors with tons of people of all ages traveling through. One thing I would have really liked is some sort of organized activity other than drinking. Showers were hot, and rooms surprisingly quiet given the number of beds. I enjoyed hanging out on the rooftop as well. Conveniently located right across from a 7/11 where you can get all your kombini favs.
La P — Google review
I stayed for one night at the double private room at the 5th floor. I trully cannot recommend this option because you might end in the same hole as we were. It has enormous pipes running through the room, which several people have already mentioned in their reviews. I couldn't even take a picture because I was so shocked (I could not even stand up properly to take a picture even). Even though It is a double room, there's hardlt only room for one person on the floor. Besines, it was November when we stayed there and the room was freezing cold. The air conditioning is on heating mode, as if it were working, but it wasn't (they might as well have used a toy remote, since the function was practically the same). I went downstairs to ask the staff for help, and they came up to check it. They told us to just turn it off and on again, and that was it. The air conditioning still didn't work; it was full of dust -in fact the piloto informing that the filter needed to be cleaned was ON - so I guess It has not worked for a while. I was colder that night than on the Peruvian Andes in the middle of the mountains in winter. I think the staff is just dragging their feet on the problem until they find someone who knows what's wrong, if anyone even exists. Previously, I stayed in a female dormitory, which was much better, except that they can look at you from the beds above because there's a gap between them; imagine how good it would be to sleep as a woman if you were in a mixed dormitory.
ElenaA M — Google review
Great place! Really enjoyed my stay here and I was there for over 2 weeks. I think the upstairs is a bit under developed, they could make it a cooler hanging spot and the breakfast is a bit meh, but those are my only 2 caveats. All staff members were super friendly, specially Nicolas, such a cool dude; really made me and many others feel welcomed at the place.
Nicolas H — Google review
This is a fantastic social hostel! The rooms can feel a bit packed, which might be slightly uncomfortable if you're not used to communal living, but overall, everything was spotless, and the staff was incredibly warm and helpful. A massive shoutout to Nicolas—he's brilliant at keeping a great vibe going with all the guests and genuinely makes you feel like you're staying with a friend!
Elias P — Google review
Very central location in Shinjuku, just an 8-minute walk from the metro. You can easily explore Shinjuku on foot from here. The hostel was well-designed and functional, with plenty of common spaces. The beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms and toilets were separate and always clean. There were also designated areas for doing makeup and self-care, with hair styling tools available. Breakfast was buffet-style and quite filling. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the common area, which made it difficult for remote work. The workspace setup wasn’t ideal for digital nomads. Also, the rooms didn’t have enough space to store backpacks or luggage properly.
Beste A — Google review
Good quality price value, we generally liked our stay, breakfast was very nice. We were 3 staying in the dormitory, they gave us a little room separate with a curtain from the main dormitory. We liked it. The rooms had a lot of people inside and were very tiny.

Hostel DEN is a casual accommodation option in Tokyo, offering simple dorms and modern rooms. It's known as one of the best affordable hostel choices for those who prefer not to stay right in the city center. The hostel provides gender-segregated dorms and two types of private rooms. Additionally, it features a rooftop terrace and a lounge, going beyond the typical bar vibe. The staff, consisting of young Japanese and foreigners on working vacation visas, are friendly and accommodating.
Great location to nearby stations, great service and had some some good amenities (washer/dryer available, drinks to buy or you can make your own teas / coffee) they also provided 1 free drink a day during 'happy hour'. The toilet and showering facilities were shared spaces but were kept clean and tidy and in good use. We had no issues whilst we stayed there and was a good central location to many areas of Tokyo. Highly recommend.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The location is great, right in between two metro stations and outside of the hostel it is very quiet at night. The rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff and people were the highlight for me. The common room is pretty small, this together with the happy hour makes for a great social atmosphere where its very easy to meet people. People would flock to the happy hour, would usually make plans to go out from there and split of into little groups for the night. I've met so many amazing people here. The staff are all amazing and are really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back!

Akasaka Sacas is an entertainment complex located near Akasaka Station, featuring a variety of shops, global restaurants, and a theater hosting concerts, musicals, and kabuki performances. Recently, parts of the complex were transformed into the world of Harry Potter to celebrate the Asia debut of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
If you like Harry Potter, then you definitely have to do by here! They transformed the station and nearby buildings to all be Harry Potter themed. Music is always playing, there's a decorated cafe with themed foods, a theatre and a souvenir shop as well!

In the Harry Potter world NOW! As soon as you get off the subway, you can enter the world of Harry Potter. Please get off at Akasaka Station on the Chiyoda Line and exit 3b. Climbing the “red carpet” you can see in front of you, you can see the space where Harry Potter's music is played. If you go up to the ground, there is a Harry Potter theater, a shop, and a cafe. There is also that owl with a letter, so please look for it. You need to make a reservation at the cafe and the theater! I recommend it because you can go to the Harry Potter world anytime!

Quite a small and quiet place for Tokyo. An added bonus is the location of the subway station a large number of restaurants from local cheap eateries to traditional good restaurants. Proximity to the TBS TV station allows you to attend events.

Perched high above the bustling streets of Ginza, Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier offers stunning city views from its chic and stylish rooms located above the 16th floor. The hotel's central location, just a 5-minute walk from Shimbashi station, makes it a convenient choice for travelers. Guests can enjoy breathtaking evening views of Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Bay from this high-rise hotel.
Fabulous easy to access Hotel in the heart of Tokyo. A very good Japanese friend who lives in Tokyo recommended this hotel. I was pleased by the hotel’s high quality and exceptional service. From room cleanliness, to the morning breakfast, to even the small courtesy of providing an umbrella on a rainy day - this hotel was accommodating. My arrival flight was delayed, and when I notified the hotel of the delayed check in timing, the staff was polite, and sought to assist in making my delayed check in a pleasure. Thank you to the staff and hotel management for this pleasant experience.

I decided on this hotel after researching various options to fully enjoy Ginza after a long time. It had good reviews on many websites, so I chose to stay here. However, my impression was that it was more like a higher-end business hotel. I found out at checkout that I could drink the beverages in the fridge for free, with little explanation from the staff. It was quite disappointing. The bathtub in the bathroom, where you can see Tokyo Tower, was surprisingly small—I've never seen one so tiny. In terms of location, it's perfect for shopping and dining.

Overall, it was an okay stay, but the room size wasn't ideal for two people. The Good: The hotel has a great location, just a short walk from the Ginza shopping area, with a convenience store nearby and easy access to train stations. The service was excellent, the lobby had a nice view, and the staff were friendly. The Not So Good: The room was very small, which is common in Tokyo. We booked a queen room for two, but the bed felt more like a larger single bed, leaving little space to move around. It's better suited for a solo trip. I recommend checking the room options when booking and choosing a larger room if you're traveling with more than one person.

We had a lovely stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier. The rooms are modern and the size is perfect. I don’t know why people keep complaining about the room size in the reviews? What are they expecting, a studio apartment? The bathroom is lovely and the shower is really nice. The shower gel in the bathroom smells lovely. There is a bath tub in there too. The staff are friendly, polite and keep everything clean. Towels and slippers are replaced daily. The bed sheets are changed daily too and the beds are really comfortable. The staff also leave two small bottles of water in the fridge every day, tea and coffee making things in your room which is nice. The breakfast is lovely. There is chicken, pork dimsums, pancakes, sushi, fruit, salad, pastries, pancakes, yogurt, a range of juices and teas etc. It would be nice to have some tempura dishes but other than that I really enjoyed it. The hotel is a 6-minute walk from Shimbashi Station (where we mostly travelled from for days out), 12-minute walk from Ginza Station and 20-minute walk from Tokyo Station. The views are amazing from the hotel! :)

The Tokyo Tower view, the elegant lobby, and the quiet surroundings were all great. The room was smaller compared to other Mitsui Garden Hotels nearby, but the breakfast was quite good. However, the Chromecast in my room didn’t work at all. I called the front desk and even spoke to them in person the next day, but was only told, “It might be because too many people are using it, please wait.” No matter how long I waited—10 or even 15 minutes—the screen just wouldn’t load. I even asked them to have the technical team check, but no follow-up was made, and in the end I couldn’t use it during my entire stay. For frequent business travelers like myself, this was disappointing. The service felt below the level of the otherwise impressive atmosphere. I hope the hotel reviews its procedures so that future guests won’t have the same experience.
C C — Google review
My overall experience was pleasant, with great service and comfortable accommodation. However, the Wi-Fi in my room was extremely slow and kept dropping out. When I raised the issue, the staff explained it was due to heavy usage by other guests, which feels disappointing for a 5-star hotel. Still, aside from the unstable internet, I enjoyed my stay.
Sepideh A — Google review
Good location but… Carpet of the room worn out. Rooms are much smaller than on pictures. As couple with 2 luggage you cannot let them opened, let alone putting your clothes on any pantry or drawer. Bathroom is old style. Even the toilets are old.

Nui Hostel & Bar Lounge is a trendy accommodation housed in a former toy warehouse, now transformed into an open and comfortable space for international travelers and locals. The interior features handmade wooden furniture and specialty coffee, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Located in the Kuramae area alongside the Sumida River, this highly-rated hostel offers not only cozy lodging but also a popular cafe on its first floor.
Stayed at Nui as a home base for exploring Tokyo for 10 days! Super close to Kuramae train station/Asakusa line and a grocery store, super clean and comfy rooms, and a really kind and helpful staff! The cafe in the lobby is also quite good, and serves up tasty coffee and food as well as cocktails at night. Recommend the espresso tonic and the bar master makes a brilliant old fashioned. My time at Nui was lovely, and it was the perfect place to call home in between excursions to Shimokita and other neighborhoods!

It being a hostel attached to a cafe/bar would make you think it's got some makeshift setup, but it is anything but. It's weird to use luxury to describe a hostel but Nui definitely is more luxurious than any hostel I've seen. It also appears to be very good for socializing, since the bar was always filled with people (though I didn't personally hang out there much).

I am honestly sooooooo happy with this place!!! It might be my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm which was spacious enough for everyone’s luggage. There are lockers in the room, you get a free towel and padlock. Everyone in the room was incredibly quiet and respectful. The female only bathrooms were soooo good and well thought out !!! Immaculately clean, loads of room in the shower cubicles for clothes and hanging things. Theres some free cotton pads in there too. They even had a small bath which was incredible after a long day of walking. The common room was so cozy and completely stocked with everything you’d need to cook. Such a nice vibe. Downstairs there’s a cafe/bar which has such a nice atmosphere too. The staff are all so wonderful, friendly, cool and helpful. The only downside is that you have to make your own bed which is a bit of a pain after a long travel day lol. I honestly would live in this hostel. 10/10.

Stayed at Nui. Hostel and Bar Lounge for one night. The hostel is conveniently located near Kuramae Station and surrounded 7-11, family mart, and small restaurants. The vibes inside are woodsy asethetic and the bar and vibes at night were welcoming and lively. Our private room on the third floor was TINY but worked for us, as we only had our backpacks. Towel, toothbrush/toothpaste provided. Co-ed bathroom and showers were clean and well maintained. Breakfast made to order took a bit of time but was excellent! Ginger brulee latte was amazing! Also guests were primarily an "older crowd" which was awesome for us, as a bunch of 30+ oursleves. Overall awesome stay! Would absolutely recommend!

Nui is probably one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. In terms of service, cleanliness and quietness for a hostel. The bar/cafe downstairs was warm and welcoming with friendly staff. The rooms and bathrooms were always serviced and clean. I would highly reccomend this stay.

Great option if you are looking for a nice and clean hostel in Tokyo. Cozy vibe and great breakfast option with a variety of different coffee options (if you’re into coffee). Bathroom and common areas are kept very clean and tidy. I stayed at a few different hostels traveling around Japan. This was one of my favorites!

Tamachi Station is a medium-scale JR station in Tokyo, situated between Shinagawa and Hamamatsucho. It's known for its convenient access to the Keihintohoku and Yamanote JR Lines, making it easy to explore Tokyo. The area around the station offers a mix of office buildings and residential areas, with supermarkets and essential services nearby. Despite being crowded during peak hours, the station provides frequent train services on both sides.

Good station. Just next station to Shinagawa, huge station. You can have a good access to go around Tokyo from here! You can find good cafes and book store. Of course there are some restaurants and convenience store so no problem if you leave some daily stuffs. The staffs are very kind so you can use comfortably!

Don’t stop here if you’re a foreigner lol. We got a little confused about the trains and we couldn’t get past the gate. I went to the counter for help with my issue typed out in Japanese on my translator. The guy at the counter just glanced at my phone, got mad and just said “NAI NAI NAI NAI!”. He didn’t let us through essentially trapping us on the platforms. I get it, I live in a tourist-heavy place too but there’s no need to be RUDE and just straight up not do his job. He didn’t even attempt to help us, meanwhile other station workers have been patient and use the provided device they have to communicate through translator. A nice older worker on the other side of the station helped us out.

New Otani Inn Tokyo is a relaxed hotel offering a range of rooms and suites, from functional to vibrant. The location scores 8.5 out of 10 according to visitor reviews, making it a convenient place to stay. Guests appreciate the clean accommodations, good service, and buffet breakfast. The hotel offers in-room amenities such as water filtered with American cypress and larger beds with good pillows.
The location was great and all shops and restaurants I needed were nearby. I had 2 rooms; the room on the lower floor was a bit dark but the layout was good and the room on the higher floor was more spacious and bright but looked a bit outdated. Overall, I loved the convenience of this hotel and I would like to stay again.

So far worst hotel I had in Tokio, rooms very old, temperature in room can't be set, wifi does not even reach 1 MBit, breakfast not included and too expensive for the quality offered. Bedsheets are weird, some three loose layers of something falling completely apart at night. Was happy about the microwave and washers on floor 4. The location is also great and view was OK. Service was as everywhere in jp great and helpful
Jürgen K — Google review
The location is good and convenient. There’s Lawson there’s a supermarket and bunch of restaurants in Ohsaki Gate City that’s right below the hotel. However the hotel rooms were not clean at all. I found chips on the carpet and hair over the bed sheets. They also provide the worst possible quality on the blankets, it is literally sandwiched (in the middle of 2 thin layered bed sheets. The amenities are nice but it’s just the cleaning that’s bad.
Aiden L — Google review
The hotel is conveniently placed, with a grocery store nearby, as well as, quick, easy access to Osaki Station, however the room itself is in need of DESPERATE renovating. The room itself is large as we booked it for 3 adults, but everything is extremely out of date. The design is an eye sore and the wall plugs are placed in very unconventional spots. The fan barely works in the washroom and the ac control unit looks like it's from the 80s. They put an additional ac unit in the room which works well but is quite loud. The Wi-Fi is also extremely slow to not working. This is the second last hotel in our 2 week stay in Japan and so far, its been the LEAST impressive to say the least.

The location for this hotel is very convenient, just steps away from the JR station, and has a convenience store downstairs along with several large restaurant complexes within walking distance. I did not like the hotel itself. The beds are extremely hard and difficult to sleep in. Certain front desk staff were also surprisingly rude. The overall psychological atmosphere is fairly cold.

Historical landmark
The Former Site of the House of Kaishu Katsu is a fascinating historical landmark located just a short walk from Akasaka Station. This site marks the residence where Katsu Kaishu, a prominent shogunate retainer, lived during the tumultuous end of the Edo period until 1872. Notably, it was here that he played a crucial role in negotiating the peaceful surrender of Edo Castle alongside Saigo Takamori, averting potential conflict.

(Translated by Google) It seems that the family moved three times in the Akasaka area, and this is the site of the mansion where Katsu Kaishu lived from the end of the Edo period until 1872. During this time, he was active as a shogunate retainer during the chaotic period at the end of the Edo period. Sakamoto Ryoma also came to this area to assassinate Katsu Kaishu, and from here he traveled to negotiate with Saigo Takamori for the bloodless surrender of Edo Castle. When they returned to Tokyo after the Meiji period, they moved to the site of Hikawa Elementary School, which is further ahead. This is not the site of Katsu Kaishu's residence, but rather the site of Katsu Yasuyoshi's residence, which was renamed after the Meiji Restoration. When I read the plaque that read "Records of the Site of Katsu Kaishu's Residence," I was impressed by how amazing it was. According to the sign, this is the former residence of Kaishu Katsu, a retainer of the shogunate, who lived here from 1859 to 1868. Kaishu Katsu's greatest achievement is probably the bloodless surrender of Edo Castle. A meeting with Takamori Saigo, a general of the government army, at Ikegami Honmonji prevented the war in Edo. Kaishu Katsu apparently liked the scenery of Senzokuike Pond, which he stopped at on the way, so he built a villa and, according to his will, also has a burial place for his wife. You know a neighbourhood’s arrived when even its name gets its own light show. This sign glows like a neon peacock after three espressos: bold, unapologetic & just begging for a selfie. Each letter is lit in a different color, as if Tokyo wanted to remind you it’s both a business hub & a party. By day, it’s just a clever sculpture. By night, it’s the city’s way of saying, “Yeah, we know we look good.” Tip: Visit after dark, grab a photo, and pretend you’re in a high-budget K-pop video. Bonus points if you can get through all six letters without someone photobombing.

Been always curious about staying at one of these places and finally got to stay in one o this longer trip to Japan for two days. This one is very clean and only serves the male population. In addition to getting a capsule the amenities include, a small onsen with a pool that can easily accommodate 10-12 people. Of course that comes with shower onsen style that’s located in the second floor. The lounge it an open bar of about 30 alcoholic drinks is always there. Plus you get to choose about another 30 non alcoholic drinks plus hot and cold coffee. In the lounge they have 3 very nice massage chairs (tome limit 15 mins per session) and also has free breakfast and all the manga comic books you might want to read. Floor 4 - 7 are where all the capsules are. There’s a place to store your big luggages securely at the ground floor and 2nd floor, plus a locker to store your small bags like a backpack and other valuables. You will only want to carry what you need to sleep in your capsule. The capsule if self is quite spacious and I can seat upright inside no issues and I’m 170cm tall. Inside the capsule is your own TV, charging outlets and a fan. Would I do this again? Yes if I’m traveling light.

This capsule hotel turned out to be much better than expected. Despite the compact layout, the facilities are impressively complete. There’s a free breakfast coffee area, a free lounge for resting, and even a full hot-spring/sauna floor—all included at no extra cost. The capsule space itself feels more spacious than typical capsule hotels, almost like a minimalist camping setup but cleaner, quieter, and far more comfortable. With the upgraded sound-absorbing capsules and higher ceilings, it’s surprisingly peaceful, even late at night. What really stands out is how well this place supports solo travelers: • Free coffee and soft drinks • Free lounge and rest area • Free artificial hot springs & sauna • Clean showers and amenities • Quiet capsule floors with good privacy It’s perfect for anyone traveling alone, passing through Tokyo late at night, or simply needing a quiet and efficient place to reset.

Amazing place and deal. Absolutely loved the hot baths and massage chairs and free food after a long day of exploring Tokyo. Perfect way to end the nights! Felt so refreshed every morning ready for the next day. The capsules were also very clean and comfortable.

It’s just really solid. Its a capsule hotel, which I myself enjoy, but also very comfortable for westerners who might want to experience this style, but also a bit more comfort. No mid day check out like some, free bar after 5, its own Sento, and the pods are nice and thick walls, easy to sleep. I am not a big Shinjuku fan, but I stayed here as It’s literally right next to train station and you can just wake up and immediately transit somewhere. Made life very easier, 24 hour place too
Jamie C — Google review
Location was good. Bed was moderately comfortable. You store all your luggage and things in the first floor, which makes bringing them to your 4th floor and above capsule rooms annoying. Once you insert your key and enter the capsule hall though, you get this really musky smell that is unpleasant. Also, if you choose an upper "superior" capsule room, you have to do some acrobatics to get in and out of your room. Those rooms also are not equipped with tv screens as well. They fit so many capsules in the room that you're bound to have someone snoring loudly. I'm impressed by the free alcoholic drinks they serve since they pair that with a free soda machine and you can make your own drinks how you like. Their free curry and ramen were not worth it though since if you're going to be on vacation here, you'd want to save your stomach for something tastier.

I spent my last two nights here to try a capsule bed, since I thought I couldn’t stay in a room without a window.. but I realized I actually can. The bed wasn’t as small as I expected, and it was comfortable. I also love that it’s right in the heart of Shinjuku, with everything easily accessible and direct buses to both Haneda and Narita nearby. If I come back to Tokyo, I’ll definitely stay here again.

The Ginza Grand Hotel in Tokyo offers streamlined rooms with free Wi-Fi and casual dining options. The property features a swimming pool, a beauty parlor, and is conveniently located near an underground station. Despite the spacious rooms equipped with air conditioning, some areas of the hotel could use refurbishment. However, it's still a great choice for its central location in the vibrant neighborhood of Ginza known for high-end shopping and dining.
I expected a quiet old, dilapidated room from reading the review, but it didn’t turned out to be that way, thankfully. We did get a 3 person room so it is bigger than usual. Spacious enough to fit all of our luggage too. The bed is comfortable, the sofa was not. Bathroom is also quite old but it was sufficient enough. Location was wonderful though. Right at Ginza but there is a lot of bars around the area. So a lot of hostess roaming around. But the Family Mart right at the ground floor was amazing. They also have lounge that you can access with your keycard. It is right next to the check in counter. Free drinks from the vending machine. Don’t bother with breakfast though. Not that worth it. (Least the Japanese section, we didn’t get to try the Western side). But for dinner, the shabu-shabu restaurant is good. They specialised in pork shabu-shabu and the soup is very good. If you want to get sauce, get the ponzu sauce. Much suited for the dish compared to the sesame.

Let's start with the good parts. The location is great. The staff is absolutely wonderful! Super friendly and helpful. The food is tasty. There is a convenience store and ATM on site and it is open 24 hours. The lounge is a great place to relax with free drinks! The bad? The beds are super uncomfortable. Imagine sleeping on a picnic table, and you've got a good idea. Everything else is amazing.
Davin A — Google review
First the awesome: the location is really good, a fun and pleasantly vibrant (maybe gritty) corner of Ginza, with Shimbashi station very nearby and just around the corner from all the shops and sights of the district. There is a convenience store downstairs and, unusually, a stock of bathroom amenities in the reception so you can just help yourself. The staff were really helpful, professional and discreet. As for the rooms, bathrooms and the condition of the building, they’re fine - not the most luxurious or up-to-date, but our rate was set accordingly so we knew what to expect. If you’re after a decent and comfortable but not swanky hotel in a perfect area to explore Tokyo, and not too bothered by having a smart TV or a modern bathroom, this is a good option.
Rich D — Google review
Hotel is in such a great spot that is so close to the Shimbashi Metro Train Station, literally 1-2 minute walk away. If anyone did the research, the Shimbashi/Ginza station is the BEST station to connect directly to Hibiya Line, M line, JE JRline(Disneyland) which will bring you to all the main must do tourist attraction area such as Shinjuku, Shibuya, Asakusa, Tsukiji, Ueno, Akihabara, Toyosu. Rooms were smaller but I definitely think the perk is on an easier ride wherever I go. There is a FamilyMart & Seven11 convenience store just right downstairs and opposite of the hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Would recommend as I think for this price range, most rooms in all the hotel are still around the same size. (The only downside is that if you are vigilant enough to pay attention to your surroundings, only have to beware of the nightlife solicitations around the area as they have Pim* standing around at intersections at traffic lights to guard. To the hotel, you have to take care of your Level 1 Lobby as those ladies do walk into the hotel lobby which I think it’s not a great image for the hotel.)
Sylvia A — Google review
Recommend! Stayed here for a single night but it was my second time staying here. Good location for traveling and shopping. Room is a bit small but if you travel alone or as a couple, it will not be a problem. For 🇰🇷, some people at reception can speak 🇰🇷 well.

One of the worse Hotel during our trip to Japan, this is no doubt a 2 stars Hotel, but we pay at a 4 stars price, room photos are misleading, room and bathroom are old and dated. Carpet is so old and linens are not clean, the room light are dark, for good reason. Beside the good location, close to shop etc. Please avoid at all cost

Staffs are more friendly. Rooms and rates are acceptable. Be a member to enjoy some privileges. Nearby got a lot of amenities, shopping centre, train station etc etc

The best thing about the hotel is the location. The room is relatively small and the bathroom is prefabricated and tiny. We had to wait to check-in as both counter staff were on the phone for quite a while.

Train station
Yotsuya Station is a bustling transportation hub located in the heart of the city. It features multiple gates both around and across the station, which can be a bit confusing at first, but visitors will eventually get the hang of it. The station tends to get crowded due to its central location, but it's worth exploring for its variety of shops and restaurants. One unique feature is the presence of station booths for quick office work, as well as English signage for easy navigation.
The iconic frames from Your Name (Kimi no Nawa) are at the far right (station sign, currently under construction as of 2024) when you exit from Akasaka Exit 1, and the immediate left down the bridge from that same exit.
Jasper — Google review
To go to the subway stations from the JR station, you must take the Akasaka exit. If you are changing trains here be careful about that.
Taufika A — Google review
This is a train station that serves trains and subways, well-known to be depicted in an anime film called Kimi no Na wa. This place is well-maintained and clean. As usual, a lot of stairs are found here, so don't forget to mind your steps.
ALG87 — Google review
The JR Office at this station told my group we needed to book our Shinkansen tickets at the Tokyo station. My experience has been very good with all of the trains and metro and other JR offices, but this one decided they couldn't be bothered to show us they had machines we could easily book our reserve seats at and simply told us to go to Tokyo station.
J B — Google review
Yotsuya holds its breath between hills and history — stone walls guard stories of samurai and scholars, while university bells drift above the tracks. Beneath cherry blossoms, time folds into itself; the Marunouchi Line pauses here as if to listen to the city remembering. Tourist Tip: Stop for a peaceful walk in Sotobori Park or the Sophia University area, especially in cherry blossom season.
Stray L — Google review
Yotsuya station has different gates around the station and also across it, on the other side of the road. So in this sense, yes, it can get confusing, especially if you don’t know which side of the station you are in since the train is long and if you happen to be on the “wrong” end compared to where you should be, then you might just get lost by exiting at the wrong gate. Eventually you will figure it out though. Hopefully easily XD

This station is a nice station right in the heart of the city. It does get crowded because of it’s location. Have a few hours to walk around in this area will be great just to look around for little shops and restaurants. Frequently go to this station. I do like the restaurant and bakery located on the main floor.

The Pullman Tokyo Tamachi offers elegant accommodations in a stylish setting, complete with a restaurant, rooftop bar, and exclusive lounge access. For those interested in exploring Tokyo's drinking scene, 'Drinking Japan: A Guide to Japan's Best Drinks and Drinking Establishments' is a recommended read. The hotel's location provides easy access to Kanagawa prefecture, allowing guests to explore coastal towns like Yokohama with its vibrant Chinatown and beaches near Kamakura.
My partner & I stayed at Pullman Tokyo Tamachi for 2 nights. We travelled from Kyoto on the Shinkansen & were easily able to change trains at Tokyo station for the JR train to Tamachi Station. The hotel is right next to the station so even with luggage, it was a breeze. We were warmly welcomed an shown to our room. We found the room spacious, & well appointed. It had super comfortable sofa for just relaxing, & the bed was great. The executive lounge was small, but very well stocked, with very friendly & helpful staff. A special mention Youngah Kim who really helped make our stay memorable. Breakfast both mornings was excellent. Great coffee too which we both really appreciated. We had such great dinner at KASA on our first night, we ate there again. Food & service were both sensational. We did the 'Signature Menu' & thoroughly enjoyed every course. (I think I had the venison dish of my life!) We'd definitely recommend booking in for this during your stay. We both loved this hotel & hope we will stay again soon.

Currently in 314 and finishing up my 8 night stay tomorrow. Location is fantastic, further out from the main areas but only a few stops away via train. Hotel is technically connected to an easy to navigate train station. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Housekeeping has been fantastic. A special shoutout to Kim in the Executive lounge who is incredibly personable and has made our daughters stay memorable. Breakfast is far from great, and service is slow with a smaller variety of what's expected from a 5 star hotel at this cost. That's the only downside. Aside from that if you want comfort, ease of location, quick eats nearby then this is the hotel.
Dennis M — Google review
If it were any other hotel I'd probably rate it 5 star but Pullman sets a high bar with the brand name, and a bit more critical. As others have said, the vehicle arrival is a little surprising how dark and unwelcoming it was, and I was surprised there was no staff down there to assist with bags. However, I did arrive an hour early for my booking unannounced and this may have affected it. Room was large, really nice amenities, and generally very clean. Downside was a previous guest had popped a bottle of champagne and the ceiling had a very clear spray pattern. Very generous late checkout. Only other critique was weather protection at the entrance. There's a gap between other buildings' undercover areas. I would expect a pergola to be put up, or helpful staff within striking distance with umbrellas. Otherwise, really great stay, nice location that's well connected but away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were all really friendly and professional, most appeared multilingual. I would stay here again!
L. T — Google review
Overall, great hotel. I chose this one mainly because I wanted to remain within the All Accor group and Pullman is a known good hotel chain. My king size bed suite was very spacious and comfortable, and I especially enjoyed the bathtub and shower. The bed was also huge and comfortable, and bonus, the shades work very well, your room gets very dark when they’re closed so big thumbs up as I’m very sensitive to light and hate when hotels’ windows don’t block sunlight correctly. The breakfast buffet was ok but I’ve seen much better, honestly. But you could order eggs, there was fruit and vegetables, so it was possible to eat healthy. The staff was also very polite and professional. Two things though: the hotel is near a train station, Tamachi, but I found that for most of the tourist attractions and excursions I wanted to visit or participate in the hotel was actually kind of far. It wasn’t much of an issue as I had plenty of free time, but if you’re tight on schedule, maybe consider getting an hotel closer to the Tokyo Station for example. Also, whilst they have a gym, it’s very small and not very well equipped, and one of the two running machines was broken for a few days. One last thing: impossible to order breakfast to your room early in the morning (you have to go grab a breakfast box; I just bought some yogurts and fruits to eat when I had to leave early for an excursion) and I also found the in-room dining offer very poor (no soups, so fruit, no complete healthy dishes…), so I didn’t order anything from them. So, a nice hotel, for sure, but these few things could be improved (gym, breakfast, in-room dining). And the location, it’s up to you.
André M — Google review
Surrounded by many other buildings of office like, and proximity to subway stations, this hotel is definitely 5-star worthy! You walk a bit (6-10mins), find yourself immersed into traditional Japanese izakaya style restaurants. It’s about 25 mins walk to Tokyo Tower. It’s also only about 15-20 mins ride to Shibuya Station as well. Because it’s not in dead center of downtown, it’s rather more quiet and rooms are spacious. Staff are welcoming, speaks native English, on point with nearby restaurant recommendations.
KS — Google review
The staff at check-in clearly explained all our benefits as Accor Platinum and Accor+ Explore members, which was extremely helpful throughout our stay. This trip was to celebrate my best friend’s 50th birthday, and she was pleasantly surprised with a small birthday cake while we were relaxing in the lounge waiting for our room to be ready. Not to mention the lovely surprise amenity waiting in the room! The hotel is connected to JR Tamachi Station and about an 8-minute walk from Mita Metro Station, making it highly convenient for transportation. Haneda Airport is only around 30 minutes away by Sky Access, while Narita Airport takes about 80 minutes. We truly enjoyed the quiet and tidy Executive Lounge, where alcoholic drinks are available throughout its opening hours (LOL). A special thanks to Lounge Manager Ms. Kim for her warm and thoughtful service, which made our stay even more delightful. Dinner at KASA Restaurant was also wonderful, and as Accor+ Explore members we enjoyed a 30% discount. Last but not least, there’s a 24-hour drugstore just across the street from the hotel, perfect for late-night or last-minute shopping. My friend and I will definitely come back to Pullman Tokyo Tamachi again!

Stayed here for a week and honestly was really impressed - The rooms were a really good size and the staff were very polite and friendly. The breakfast was very good with lots of different options to suit every taste and overall the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Yūrakuchō Station is located in a bustling area known as Ginza Corridor Street, which stretches for about 400 meters under the elevated train tracks between JR Shimbashi Station and Yurakucho Station. This popular spot is filled with a variety of international restaurants and bars, offering everything from fresh oysters to generous portions of meat dishes paired with beer. Additionally, visitors can explore the market at the Tokyo International Forum, just a short walk from Yurakucho Station.

Yurakucho Station, nestled in the heart of Tokyo, is a gateway to both tradition and modernity. Serving as a vital transportation hub, it connects commuters to various parts of the city and beyond. What sets Yurakucho apart is its unique fusion of old and new, with traditional izakayas and modern skyscrapers coexisting side by side. The station's bustling corridors and lively atmosphere reflect the vibrant energy of Tokyo, making it a fascinating destination to explore and experience the dynamic spirit of the city.

Yurakucho Station (JR Station) – JR Pass Ticket Printing Experience If you’ve already reserved your JR Pass tickets online and have your main JR Pass QR code, Yurakucho Station is a convenient place to print your reservation tickets—though it takes a bit of effort to find the right machine. Unlike Narita Airport, there’s no staffed JR counter here to help you print directly. You’ll need to go to the office and ask for directions to the machine, which is somewhat hidden at the back of the office center. Look for a special machine with a yellow screen that says “Collect Tickets”. Once there, simply scan your main JR Pass QR code and the machine will print out all your reserved tickets. I was able to successfully print tickets for Tokyo to Fukui, Fukui to Tokyo, and Tokyo to Narita—all in one go. Overall, it’s a smooth process once you locate the machine, but be prepared to ask for help if it’s your first time at Yurakucho.

This review is not solely aimed at the station itself, but the entire area around Yūrakuchō Station, which has become one of my favorite places in Tokyo since first visiting back in 2017. Like little hidden gems, there are restaurants and Izakayas all along the railway bridge. This place is very lively all throughout the day, but in the evening has a special charm when office workers come here for a post-work dinner with their colleagues and wind down. It was really interesting to watch the mix of people, some very well dressed, some dressed leisurely, but all of them seemed to be in a good mood. As an unexpected added bonus, I watched a group of saxophone players on my way home right in front of the Yūrakuchō Station. The group name is “Lady Honkerz” if anyone is wondering. They were playing swing jazz, while dancing in synch and had so much energy. Side Note: I included some of my favorite photos of the Yūrakuchō Station area from summer 2019, when I was living in Japan. Hence the photos are not up to date and might not be fully representative.
Aleya — Google review
Yurakucho is all about warm lights under the tracks—grills sizzling, laughter bouncing off bricks. Office workers loosen ties, shoppers drift over from Ginza, and film buffs aim for the arthouse theater. It’s relaxed but grown-up, the kind of place where a quick stop turns into “just one more round.” Tourist Tip: For budget eats near fancy Ginza, walk under the tracks (Gahdo-shita). Hibiya/Ginza areas are 5–10 minutes on foot.

Do-C Ebisu is a modern hotel in Tokyo's upscale Ebisu area, offering cozy capsules for both men and women. The hotel boasts a beautiful European wooden interior and a large Finnish-style sauna for guests to enjoy. Located just a 15-minute walk from Shibuya, it provides easy access to nearby clubs and bars while avoiding the noise of other popular nightlife districts. The hotel's collaboration with Schemata Architects has resulted in updated interior colors and the addition of the sauna with Finnish design elements.
Do-c Ebisu Capsule Hotel in Tokyo offers a modern and minimalist take on the traditional capsule hotel experience. Located in the vibrant Ebisu district, it’s just a 5-minute walk from Ebisu Station, providing easy access to Shibuya and other major areas.

The plastic walls of the capsule allow the noise to bounce directly to your ears. You cannot sleep here! Fan broken, pillow made of plastic balls, have to check out by 1100 and check back in at 1500 if you are staying more than one night. Cannot leave bags in hotel during that time! Not worth the money saved. I got maybe 1hr of sleep. Every cough, sneeze, person walking in, someone going to bathroom, drunk guys coming in late, someone rustling in their capsule, someone accidentally hitting the wall of their capsule, will wake you! The sauna was rather impressive, very hot, with option for something like a cold plunge and good showers.
John A — Google review
Let me tell you why I give this place 1 star. First, you think the wood design is cool... it is a shanty inside. Just boards everywhere strapped together. The sauna is the only bonus this place has to offer. Absolutely zero early check in, even for extra money offered when the space was available. At finally 2:55... after 14 hours travel and 30 hours up... I'm sorry...5 more minutes. Then, the icing... which is why I give it 1 star... they make everyone (EVERYONE!) check out in the middle of your stay. Excuse me... what was that? Yes... Never in my years have I EVER seen a place in a hostel or cube design that makes every reservation check out and pack their belongings by 11am (no sleeping in on vacation for you), and re-check in after 3pm again. Oh yes, they can hold your bag... at the front desk... after you've packed. There is no relax time here. I spent 20 minutes in the sauna and gave it a 2 on location for that. You're right next to one station, but so are a thousand other hotels. Guests are found sleeping in the main lobby because they have no where to go for 4 hours. Do not stay here. I'm leaving early because of this check out nightmare and we'll see if they even credit me for the time I refuse to stay here. What a joke. Find another cubicle Hotel.

The capsule is small. It is about the length of a 182cm person. There is a vent fan. I got bit by bugs while sleeping. Couldn't help but feel creepy crawlies every night. Probably dust mites. The temperature was good. Location is prime with transport around the corner and a 7/11 across the street. Slightly inconvenient with luggage and cannot go to your room at certain times of the day. What other options are there if you don't want to stay in a love hotel or pay $300 USD a night? Not many....
Mike — Google review
This is absolutely the worst hostel I have ever stayed at. As I have stayed in the Narita airport hotel prior, I imagined that this would be similar. While similar in concept, the execution was drastically worse. To begin, you must take a very narrow set of stairs to get to the entrance of the hostel. This, in itself, isn’t terrible - while it is pretty annoying to bring suitcases in, it could certainly be worse. However, once in the building, you have no choice but to take the elevator. You cannot take the stairs up and down between floors. This is unlike anything I’ve seen before. Especially during times where there is a lot of traffic, you may have to wait a good while just to go to your locker/bed. Everything about this place screams cramped. The locker rooms are horribly small, and the lockers themselves aren’t great either. While at the 9h Narita hotel, you get full length lockers, you do not get these at this hostel. This is incredibly inconvenient given the forced 11AM checkout, when multiple visitors are trying to grab things all at once. The sauna is OK. That’s the best thing I have to say about this hostel. The floors immediately outside of the sauna are incredibly slippery, with only a few textured stickers to get some grounding on. The showers are small with hardly any room to change clothes, and this is also the case in the sleeping quarters - there is no actual change room. The 11AM-3PM checkout policy is ridiculous, as with 4 hours of “in depth cleaning,” it looks like not much was done besides beds being made. Speaking of beds, I have never had a more uncomfortable night of sleep. The fan in the capsule did not work, so it was perpetually boiling hot. Additionally, the pods seem much smaller than Narita’s location. I could not fully lay out without my feet cramming into the wall. Calling what you get a “pillow” is a disservice - you essentially get a bag full of plastic balls. It is beyond uncomfortable. Yes, the location is good as it is right beside the station. That’s it. Sauna and good location. Everything else about Do-C Ebisu is terrible. Do not waste your money and time coming here. I find it interesting that 9h group is the only type of hostel where refunds cannot be given under any circumstance. It’s almost like they know how terrible their own product is. (Also - the wooden interior is gross and dingy)
Senad K — Google review
This place has 8 floors, no stairs, and only one elevator that only fits 3 or 4 people. I'm leaving my review solely because of that because it's made leaving in the morning at checkout time feel impossible. I was ready to go at 10:55, and now I'm typing this at 11:08, still waiting to go down. The elevator has only come to my floor twice in that time, and both times it was too full for me and my luggage. The second time it came, I just put my bag in there and asked them to take it down for me, something I wasn't entirely comfortable with but I need to go now and it felt like the only way to get my bags down there, and I'm hoping I can squeeze into the next one. Just a terrible design. The third elevator just came and there was not enough room for me at all. The fact that there's no stairs is idiotic. If the elevator can't pick me up one more time I might just use the emergency stairs.
Jack V — Google review
The capsule room's are clean, the reception situated at second floor, there is waiting room while waiting check in or check out or just relax. The capsule for man and woman is separate. There is also sauna ,locker facilities. This is one of the great capsule hotel with affordable price. Shower room and sauna for man at third floor and for woman at sixth floor. Situated at Shibuya Ebisu, 3 minutes walk from Shibuya Ebisu station then take west exit. Their staff's very responsive and helpful. I would recommend this capsule hotel for backpackers or budget traveler.

CITAN is a trendy hostel with functional dorms and rooms, featuring a cafe, bar, and guest kitchen. It is managed by the same team behind Toco and Nui guesthouses, known for their excellence in the Tokyo guesthouse scene. CITAN offers affordability, comfort, meticulous design, and great dining options all in one place. The standout features include a stylish cafe and co-working areas that transform into a restaurant-bar at night.
It’s near the station and has a Lawson convenience near it. The common areas and bathrooms are clean. There is a washing area for only ¥300. It’s a good place for solo travelers. Thankfully, I had very respectful roommates who observed silence and cleanliness. I stayed in an all-girl room.

The staff were always very helpful, and they provided just about everything I needed for a comfortable stay. They also have good food available whenever I didn't want to go searching for it. Additionally, the location was ideal, it is right in the middle of Tokyo and is near to a subway station and currency exchange. I felt relieved that I could come back after each exhausting day, assured that I would have a shower and some privacy.
Bryce K — Google review
Private room is honestly perfect. An affordable option for those who appreciate being around other travellers but still want privacy. Good coffe and friendly staff. Only downside is the washing machine is old and a bit stinky. Also they didn’t change our sheets, we stayed for 8 nights (probably would’ve done it if we asked).

Loved my stay at CITAN Hostel. The atmosphere was modern yet cozy, with a great social vibe downstairs at the café and bar. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The location near Ningyocho Station made getting around super convenient. Only small downside was some loud roommates, but overall a great experience — would definitely stay again.

One of the best hostels I ve ever been to, definitely going there again. Great staff, great social activities, very clean and well air conditioned. Bathrooms are very nice as well, even shampoo and soap provided. They have all the facilities you might need. Just great! Only thing is it's a bit far away from the "party area" in Tokyo but with a bike it's like 20 minutes

Many trains station around!, Great food! The beers made it there are insane! The staff is really great! Have enough space to cook your on meals and hang out with others. I’d recommend you (if you like IPA BEER), drink the 7 heaven ;)
Esteban F — Google review
this hostel is amazing the rooms are clean and tidy the lockers are easy too use and the staff are incredibly friendly. the location is great but after the last train at midnight it can be difficult to get back without spending money on a taxi however before midnight it’s great 20mins from shinjuku and 30 from shibuya
Tarrin M — Google review
I loved the place but in my opinion they can invest a bit more in making it a bit more comfortable. If you get the bunk bed with like air vents on top you’re screwed because I’m 157 cm and it was uncomfortable. So imagine a tall guy European or American trying to stand up on the bed or sit impossible. The place is good they have a bar down but def super hard to have a social vibe which is mostly Japan. If you’re doing your plan go in and out great. Use Hostelworld chat to make friends but don’t stay there to hang out is like jot the best place. But affordable and you pay the price for what you get

Japanese-style business hotel
Hotel
Inn
Sotetsu Fresa Inn Tokyo Tamachi is a straightforward hotel in Central Tokyo, just a few minutes away from Oki Electric Industry and close to Tamachi Railway Station. The area is surrounded by local bars and restaurants, with English-friendly stores nearby. The hotel offers relaxed rooms with minifridges and complimentary Wi-Fi. It's conveniently located within a 5-minute walk from the train station, and there are convenience stores nearby. The property also features a coin laundry on site.
I chose this hotel because of the very attractive price. The hotel is clean, offers nice toiletries, and has everything you might need — even a humidifier (though there is no air conditioning). The staff were friendly and helpful. On the downside, the room is quite small (about 10 m²), but I knew this when booking and found the price-to-size ratio perfectly acceptable. It can be a bit noisy outside — when a bus or truck passed by, it sometimes felt like it was driving through the room! However, the windows are very well sealed, so it wasn’t too bothersome when they were closed. Overall, I’m satisfied with my stay. For a short visit, this hotel is a great option, but for a longer stay, the room size might be a bit challenging.
Bartosz — Google review
First impression: the staffs were really friendly. They helped me keep my luggage when I came before the check in time and instructed me all I need to know for the stay. Really never need to ask them twice because of how detailed the instructions were. I was alone so the room though small was just enough. You get used to the space and find that everything you need is within reach. The tab for the sink and the shower was shared, I never experienced that before but it was a brilliant design. They also have free commodities at the ground floor, and face masks were included - arguably the best feature and my favorite feature of all! Absolutely love it. The hotel was quite close to the Tamachi station too, about a 7-minute walk. It is also close to all 3 of the major convenience stores: Family Mart, 7/11, and Lawson - perfect to choose and explore. Since this is also a business district, the streets were relatively quiet and safe at nighttime, while the station will be more crowded from 5-7pm on weekdays. An amazing stay.
HanaYuki M — Google review
Overall an okay stay, but with some pros and cons. The hotel’s location is convenient: about a 10-minute walk from Tamachi Station (Yamanote Line), which makes getting around Tokyo pretty easy. Just keep in mind Mita Station is a bit far if you want the Mita or Asakusa Line. There’s a small supermarket right downstairs open until 11 pm, and a few 24-hour convenience stores (Lawson, 7-Eleven, FamilyMart) within walking distance. The room was clean and the bed comfy with two types of pillows (soft and firm). But honestly, the room is tiny and not very bright; the window faces another building so you’ll need the lights on all day. The TV takes up the whole desk (it should really be on the wall), and the chair just makes the space tighter. The AC is a bit noisy, and while the humidifier is a nice touch, it feels bulky for such a small room. The staff were very kind and smiley; they don’t speak much English but Google Translate works fine. The breakfast wasn’t really worth it for me. It’s very Asian-style (rice, chicken, etc.) and lacks Western options. If you prefer something lighter, you’ll probably just end up with coffee, juice, and a small croissant. For the same price, you can easily grab something better from a convenience store nearby.
Samaï — Google review
An amazing place to stay at in Tokyo! The location is its greatest quality. Quiet and clean, yet lively neighborhood. The hotel was well kept and clean. The only negative thing I can think of is how small the room was, but I could ignore it since we didn't really spend time in it apart from eating breakfast and spending the night there. The washer-dryer combo/coin laundry was very nice too.
József M — Google review
Honestly, I don't know what not to like about this hotel. The staff were so nice and they were responsive towards my inquiry on Agoda. I asked them about Takyubin service to other city and yes they can help with that. If you have a plan to travel to other city beside Tokyo and don't want to carry lots of things with you, I think Takyubin service will be really helpful. The room was small, but I guess it's a standard hotel room size in Tokyo. Amenities were also provided on the lobby.
Vanessa T — Google review
Checked in today and went up to unpack. I reserved 2 rooms for my family of 2 adults & 2 children. First thing i noticed in both rooms was worn and dirty carpet. The rooms were small, but i expected it based on the description. The small fridge does not have a freezer section and barely fits into the cabinet it’s housed in. The bathroom is extremely small which says a lot since I am a petite woman. The controls used to turn on the sink are the same ones used to turn on the shower. I realize this design is supposed to save space, but it’s inconvenient if one person wants to brush their teeth while their partner is showering. What bothered me most was how unclean the toilets were. There was a huge black stain on the toilet even though I had just checked in. There was also a stain in the second room i booked, but it wasn’t as big as in my bathroom. They were going to move me to another room, but the new room’s toilet was equally stained. It was so gross to have to see this while on vacation. We stayed at other Sotetsu hotels before and they’re usually good and clean. Had I known how bad this location was I wouldn’t have booked 5 days and 4 nights here. On top of all the above, the washing machine, microwave & ice machine are all located on 8th floor but when the elevator door opened, there was strong smoke stench. Not a good idea to locate public amenities where nonsmokers have to endure smoke. There were only 2 washers & 2 dryers for guests to use. I usually post positive reviews for businesses. Staff was fine--I felt bad for the receptionist who tried to help me as it wasn’t his fault that many of their toilets are dirty. However, I cannot recommend this hotel due to uncleanliness, smoke laden air to access public amenities. In this case, I hope management will make improvements so they don’t loose future customers.
Vy H — Google review
It was a pleasant stay for us. Room space is decent, still with space to move around comfortably even if you open the luggages on the floor. Location is good it was pretty convenient and accessible to the city center and shops. Convenience store are available and nearby and its near Yamanote Line Tamachi Station which is a great point to consider. I recommend this place. The staff also helped us sending the luggages via Ta-Q-Bin which is a big help.
Jan A — Google review
I stayed for 3 nights for business. The room is functioned well with everything I needed. The amenities are available at the lobby. Breakfast is served from 6:30-10 am. Room making/cleaning will be every 3 day. The vending machine and coin laundry are at the 8th floor.

Located in the bustling heart of Central Tokyo, &AND HOSTEL AKIHABARA offers straightforward rooms and dorms with a minimalist tech-focused design. The hostel is conveniently situated within walking distance of popular tourist attractions and Akihabara station. While some guests appreciate the clean bathrooms and convenient location, others have noted downsides such as late check-in times and additional charges for amenities like towels and slippers.
I've stayed at &AND HOSTEL AKIHABARA three or four times now, and it's always been a great experience. The staff are incredibly friendly, the location is central and convenient, and the other guests have consistently been kind and respectful. The private rooms are surprisingly spacious — especially for Tokyo — and feel roomier than similarly priced business hotels like APA, though you do share the bathroom facilities. Even the lobby is a nice place to relax, which isn’t something you can say about every hostel. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay in Tokyo.
Rory C — Google review
The staff was very friendly, they even helped me ship my suitcase to the next hotel after their work hours. The room was nice, I had a private room, can't say anything about the dorms. The common area is very chill and it was easy to meet new people there. Location is near the station, a few minutes walk and you can catch a train or subway.

Lovely stay, staff were so welcoming, special mention to kira and kana (I think that was the name-sorry I couldn't remember) but you were both so helpful and kind! My mum wasn't well and they were so both so helpful with trying to find a pharmacy and so helpful with booking taxis, thank you for your kindness! The hotel itself was great and good value for money, there is a nice sitting area and facilities for cooking etc, good location and near the metro and also lots to see and do in that area within walking distance.

Great 2-day stay here! Perfect place for a short visit — excellent value for money and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Arigatou gozaimasu! Mata ne! Nico, Italy

The hostel is right outside of akihabara so the connection to the major lines is very good, while the hostel itself is located in a quiet area. The interior is very clean and modern and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They assisted me in booking a bus ticket. I had lots of nice conversations even late into the night sometimes and I made some friends along the way, so I'd say it's a perfect place for solo travelers but also very nice for groups. Would defenetly stay there again or just come by to say hi :)
Jakob W — Google review
It is a cheap hostel and it feels like that, there is no AC in the room so it is very hot sleeping, the bathroom and toilet also don't feel clean as well... The only good thing is the location

I had a great stay at this hostel! The place was very clean, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The rooms were well-maintained, and all the facilities were in good condition. Shawn, one of the staff members, was particularly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always ready to offer recommendations and assistance. His hospitality made a big difference, and I really appreciated it. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly place to stay!

Sakura Hostel Asakusa is an informal hostel in Tokyo, centrally located just a step from Kaminarimon and the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Centre. The hostel offers simple dorms and private rooms with a dining area, TV lounge, and kitchenette. With air-conditioned guestrooms equipped with amenities like hairdryers and complimentary Wi-Fi, the service-minded staff is always available to assist guests.
This hostel is very lively when we arrived, customers were dining in the kitchen area. It’s located close to Sensō-ji Temple(a nice view of the temple), the night market, the walking street, Donki, Uniqlo, many restaurants and the subway station. It’s very convenient to walk around the area. I booked a family room for 6 people (a private room with 3 bunk beds). The bedroom is clean, and the toilets are separated for men and women. The staff provide great service, so it’s no surprise they have many customers. There are also two parking spots in front of the hostel. If you arrive before check-in time or want to leave your luggage, they have a storage room available in the basement. 😍👍🏻
Miewty — Google review
The hostel was fine. Bare bones. The rooms are the only place with AC. The bathrooms are boiling. The curtains on all the beds are loud enough to wake you up in the night if someone opens their bed. The lockers are too small for any kind of luggage besides a tiny backpack. They had multiple “room checks” while we were there, requiring us to have all our stuff packed up for multiple days. The location is decent although a 10 min walk to most subways. The concierge was nice
Leila T — Google review
Very social place, the staff is great and it is amazingly located. I personally like to use my hostel to just « crash » at the end of the day, and as a social place, and everything was clean, comfortable enough and fun. If looking for a super bougie experience, it might not be your cup of tea but it was certainly mine.
Mia R — Google review
Although I share the idea that rooms could be improved, in general I feel this hostel is a very nice place. I have been twice already, and I always feel like at home. Although my Japanese knowledge is very basic yet, it was pretty fun to chitchat with the employees both in Japanese and English (and now even in Spanish!). The treatment by the employees is excellent, and people are usually kind when resting in the lobby, so it is always possible to meet nice people there too. The place is also nice, being only a few minutes away from Sensoji. I really recommend the place.
Eduardo B — Google review
I read the reviews, positive and negative, prior to my stay here and to be honest, I was quite worried with my decision of booking Sakura Hostel. But I was glad that I just had positive experiences during my stay. The receptionist upon check in is warm and friendly. They speak english well so foreigners don’t need to worry. I was given a bed sheet and pillow case. There are no bath towel, slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste provision so either you bring your own or rent/buy from the hostel. I was assigned to the room near the restroom. Total of 8 bunk beds was there and I got to have a lower bunk. Aircon is cold, wifi is strong, matress is thick and soft, room is spacious enough and clean, there is 1 cabinet for each guests at the room but it’s small and has no lock. If you have a luggage, you can place it below your bed instead. The bed has an individual light and just one socket. It was quiet and although I can sometimes hear sounds frok outside, it isn’t much of a big deal as it’s not loud. I was able to sleep well. Restroom is clean. I am usually alone in the bathroom. It was never cramped. There are shampoo and body wash available. There’s also hair dryer. Only downside is it’s warm inside. Receptionists change from time to time and they were all friendly. Breakfast is okay. There were toasts, spreads, soup, coffee and tea everyday. All in all I would say staying here is bang for the buck. Great location too. Just a few mins away from Sensoji, Donki, Uniqlo, Nakamise Street, etc.

Stayed here for a month. Very helpful staff though they seem understaffed and overwhelmed at times. Any inquiries I had about things to do in town they were more than happy to help me out. Especially for night activities. The rooms are nice and clean. Will come again!!

Book and Bed Tokyo Shinjuku is a unique hostel in the Kabukicho area that has gained popularity among both foreign tourists and locals. The modern concept of this accommodation revolves around the idea of staying in a bookstore, surrounded by thousands of books categorized into various genres. The chic industrial design features concrete, exposed pipework, and wooden elements, with a central wall of bookcases housing 'bookshelf beds' for individual guests.
Great hotel - much better than expected actually - we are a family of 4 with 2 kids 10 and 12 and they absolutely wanted to try it - we all had our own capsule - Staff was very friendly and English speaking, the capsules are quiet and bigger than we thought, with room at the bottom to store your luggage (including our big luggage). The books and capsules create a very soft and quiet environment, where we all slept well through the night - it was not noisy at all (even if your capsule door is a double curtain) - Everyone seems to respect the "be quiet" rule. The beds are simple but comfy enough, no one complained the day after 🤪They have a little cafe for drinks and food, but the best part of it is that you are right in the middle of the action - in the very vibrant Shinjuku with all restaurants, neons, bars etc Absolutely 10 / 10 for location and surprisingly 10 / 10 for quietness, located on the 8th floor of a 10 storeys building. All in all a very unique and fun experience.
Dimitri K — Google review
Not bad at all! Comfy enough and super clean during my visit. It was a bit stuffy on the top bunk, unfortunately, and my mate on the bottom was kept awake by whispering — the wood is quite thin, so you can hear everything. That said, if you can come on a weekday and get a good deal, I’d recommend it. I wouldn’t pay too much, though. Have to make own bed on top bunk in small space but managed to get it done although I bashed my head in the process.
Joe W — Google review
This place has a really cute theme, and the book decor is well done. The location is excellent, and the staff were pretty friendly, but the whole place is incredibly dirty. The capsules are filled with debris and dust. The sheets provided are clean, but the sleeping pad (no mattress, just thin pad) was stained. The bathrooms are covered in grime and mold; the showers looked like they had never been cleaned, and the toilets were disgusting. One of the dirtiest hostels I have stayed at which was a huge surprise both for Japan and for the cost given a hotel across the way would have been the same price for two people. If you really like books, maybe visit for a coffee during the day but I strongly suggest sleeping elsewhere.
Jillian G — Google review
Staff: Very young, clearly underpaid, and fully disengaged. Hospitality isn’t part of the business model here. Sleep: Think sauna meets storage unit—hot, dusty, no mattress, and zero ventilation. Bathroom: Couple dirty toilets. That’s the whole sentence. Weekends: The “hostel” transforms into a public café packed with couples on dates. Try showering or getting into your capsule while strangers sip lattes one meter away in their aesthetic dates. If you want to study discomfort in its purest and most immersive point, this is the place.
Nico K — Google review
The space is super cool and I loved all the books. Some great cafe seating and I enjoyed journaling in the lounge area. The bathrooms need some maintenance, and the A/C was not great especially in the middle of the night. The service felt pretty impersonal. Some might really like that.
Ericscout — Google review
I booked based on the online photos, but the real experience didn’t match the images. When my itinerary changed, I contacted the property multiple times via Agoda and email, but received no reply. Communication was difficult. The location is very convenient with plenty of dining options, but because it’s in a busy area, nights are noticeably noisy and the surroundings feel a bit chaotic. Facilities are minimal. Aside from toilets and showers, I didn’t see typical hostel amenities (e.g., a water dispenser, coffee machine, or laundry). The capsule sleeping space is very small and not friendly for luggage or anyone who needs extra room. Overall, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. Tips for Travelers Good for a quick overnight if you only need a central location. If you value quiet and shared facilities, consider other options.
Felisa S — Google review
This was my first ever capsule hotel experience. Staff: I think they are very young and maybe underpaid, that is why they dont care about hotel guests. So dont except too much hospitality. Sleep : Not great. Too hot inside and dusty. Noise: As there is no one to enforce the rules, there are noise always. Bathroom: Totolet doesnt work :( Only thing I like were those comfy pyjamas...
Gizem E — Google review
Tl;dr: just a fancy shit, not recommended, 0/5 I can’t understand why ppl here can rate 3/4 stars when they think something is totally unacceptable. If you don't want to pay high and travel with risk, please find another hotel (maybe chain hotel nearby, at least you can enjoy OSEN when you pay more!) - Hostel for bagpackers, but priced like chain hotels - Dusty, the air quality is particularly worrisome, not friendly for ppl with allergic rhinitis - Only a fancy vinyl backdrop for pictures (feels cool at first),but not much common space can use, quite hard to pack your suitcase/ bag pack when crowd - No real rooms, everyone is living in a barrack with woods and curtains - The partition is quite thin between you and others, can hear ppl whispering or snoring, you have to move carefully - Cleaning issue, no comments The worst part is the hostel staff, the night shift guy is super nice is ok, but day shift is another story. The guy doesn’t want to work and doesn’t like to talk to foreign tourists. No senior staff, no manager, no one you can talk to if the only staff don't give you a damn (they act like bus ticket inspectors in EU, rude and annoying), very Tokyo style!

Japanese-style business hotel
The Millennials Shibuya is a trendy capsule hotel located in the heart of Tokyo's bustling shopping district, Shibuya. The modern dorms offer a unique experience with iPod room keys that control lighting, bed settings, and alarm clocks. Some floors feature pod walls designed by local artists, adding to the funky atmosphere. The hotel provides affordable capsule-style sleeping arrangements with comfortable beds and storage areas. Its central location allows guests to easily explore the city's attractions while enjoying complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi.
I highly recommend this place as a luxury hostel option. I spent a week here, and it was so good. It is definitely quite pricey compared to the other hostel options, but totally worth it. The beds are super comfortable, and private. Showers and toilets are clean. And the location is amazing! The free beer hour every night is great for meeting people, and makes it very easy to find plans for the evening! Thanks for having me!

This is hands-down the best place to stay around Shibuya at the ~70 €/night mark. Considering the location, the amenities, and all the items provided free of charge 24/7, nothing really beats it. If you’re a foreigner staying less than a week and want to explore the surrounding area, this is the place to book—100%. You can tell it was built with real enthusiasm and great attention to detail, from hygiene to practicality. They clean and disinfect daily, and an air filter runs constantly, so the air quality is exceptional. Showers are spotless and modern, and the toilets are the most advanced I’ve seen in Japan: self-opening, flushing, cleaning with soap, plus all the usual high-tech features. Everything works, and supplies are always restocked. A small tip: don’t bring too much luggage. The capsules have surprisingly high capacity, but it can feel cramped if you try to manage too many items. I’m a very skeptical and critical person, but everything I checked in this hotel made me think: “Hmm, that makes sense. This is really well done.” Ignore the 1-star reviews. They’re either from people who didn’t use common sense or who skipped the 2-minute intro video. For this price—especially in an area where rent soars above 2,000 €/month and hotels often start at 150 €/night—this place is an absolute steal.

The Millennials Shibuya is one of the most stylish and innovative places to stay in Tokyo. The concept of smart “pod” rooms is amazing—each capsule is clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious. You can control the lighting, bed position, and even the alarm with an iPod, which makes the stay both fun and convenient. The location is perfect, just a short walk from Shibuya Station and all the famous spots like Shibuya Crossing and Center Gai. The common area is beautifully designed, offering a relaxing space to work, read, or meet other travelers. Free beer during happy hour is a nice touch too! The staff are friendly, professional, and speak great English. Everything feels safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. It’s the perfect mix of style, comfort, and technology—definitely one of the best capsule hotel experiences in Tokyo!

I really like the design concept of this place: modern, convenience, but you still get the privacy. The bed is very comfortable, the temperature was ok. There is a small vent on the ceiling but I'd prefer is to be a bit cooler. I noticed that people mentioned that they were waken up at night due to noise, but I slept likea baby!!! They do provide earplugs if needed right when you walk out of the elevator. The common area where you can meet people. There is also a working space. I had to take a call during my vacation and the working space was great. It's definitely on the pricier side but it worth it.

Any one who is travelling solo and love meeting new people then this place is a good to place, Everyone i met was soo cool. I made few friends for lifetime. im soo glad I chose this place. I usually never write the reviews. But this place and the people made me feel good about me. Breakfast was OK but I would still rate them 5 star

Really cool capsule hotel. Very organized and clean. Staff were friendly and engaging. Would stay again. Showers and bathroom were spotless. Mixed gender and single gender floors available. Breakfast was tasty and had both fruit, pastries, eggs and sausages. I really liked the availability of hot drinks like matcha coffee were included in my stay in their 24 hr lounge area. Free luggage storage for the next day was very helpful as well.

Really modern and stylish capsule hotel right in the heart of Shibuya. The staff are very friendly and helpful, everything is spotless, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The atmosphere is very international and great for meeting new people. The breakfast is also very good and can be booked separately.
Leonardo — Google review
The place is very nice to stay as international guest. Good community options. But, minus some stars for the arbitrary pricing of the rooms between different websites and also different hours of the same day on the same website. Sometimes you cannot book a capsule without breakfast, sometimes you are able to choose. Be sure to monitor the pricing in advance to get a bit of a feeling for it. I was getting offered price differences of up to 40% on the same website (booking.com) on the same day for a planned stay of 5 nights including one Friday to Saturday. I booked on very short notice, so that might have contributed.

UNPLAN Kagurazaka is a contemporary hostel with an industrial-chic cafe/bar and a shared kitchenette. Conveniently located in the center of Tokyo, it offers easy access to various attractions in the city. The accommodation options range from female-only dorms to private suites, catering to different guest preferences. The stylish interior creates a sophisticated ambiance, and the hostel provides amenities such as bicycle rental, free Wi-Fi, luggage storage, a terrace, and a lift.
Without a doubt, this is where you should stay in Tokyo!! It’s charming, has great staff, and wonderful rooms!! - Location: one of the highlights is the location. It’s in Kagurazaka which is a charming, and low-key part of Tokyo. Tons of amazing food and shopping. Plus Kagurazaka station is a 2 minute walk away. Pharmacies, and ATMs/convenience stores are also right down the street. It’s the perfect location. Rooms: this was one of the largest rooms I had while in Japan. I booked the private room with balcony. It had plenty of storage, and the balcony had a view of the sky tree. The bed was extremely comfortable! Bathroom was a bit small (no tub), but still very nice. Amenities: the toiletries line used by Unplan are lovely! There is a coin laundry facility (very cheap) on the second floor. There’s a cafe in the lobby, they also sell beer and some other beverages at the lobby. Staff: the staff at Unplan Kagurazaka is incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming! They’re very helpful. Shoutout to Manisha, she was super friendly!! Overall I loved Unplan Kagurazaka and if I ever come back to Tokyo it would be where I stay.

Short stay in women’s dorm It was a comfortable stay. One of the better and cleaner hostels I’ve been in. The bed and pillow were comfy and I like the capsule because you can put stuff along the sides which you don’t always get with bunk beds. It was very hot one night so I think temperature control may be an issue. My light in my capsule was not working the best and even after the fix it would take some time to turn it on (had to click it repeatedly). They also do not turn off the room lights but I don’t mind because the capsule is dark enough to sleep. Though it is a lot of beds in one room I never had to wait for the shower and there were two toilets that a separate from the dorm. It is close to Kagurazaka station and with a checked luggage it was not the worst walk though it is on a bit of a slope. There are many amazing cafes and crepe places nearby and the neighborhood feels a lot quieter and local. I preferred this as it is my second visit to Tokyo and I stayed in Ginza the first time. Commute wise if you are traveling to other popular neighborhoods it will be 20-40 min. The cafe is also popular and serves good food and you can get a discount on the sauna if you want to use it.

I’m writing about the cafe, not the hotel. I have been coming here for about 5 years and really liked it. But unfortunately I don’t think I’ll come here so often anymore. They changed the system so the app is no longer in use, so I lost all the points and benefits I’d acquired. They also changed the menu (it was much better before. I didn’t enjoy the new salad) and the price (got more expensive, and lunch set doesn’t include drink anymore. And the amount of food decreased). I was a regular here (almost every week) but probably won’t come very often now. I feel quite let down as a regular customer. Perhaps their target now is tourists rather than regular customers. Its disappointing. The staff are nice.
James O — Google review
We booked the private double room at this hostel as there are no many options for hotels in Kagurazaka and we were quite keen to stay in the neighborhood. They marketed their private rooms at a comparable price to a double room in a hotel, but offer none of the services or amenities of a hotel. The room is spacious, but the bathroom is tiny, really tiny. The sound insulation is also quite poor and the curtains didn't block the light, making it not very good for sleeping. My biggest complaint with the room is that the doorstop is not placed near the wall as it should, but in the middle of entrance area and if you don't pay attention, you can trip over it when going to hang your coat. The receptionist was friendly but also kind of clueless: she sent us to the incorrect floor and invited us to join a free walking trip happening on Saturday even if we were leaving on Friday, but didn't explain basic things like how to find the wifi password. The breakfast was quite basic, and the coffee was just outright bad, which I wasn't expecting as there is an onsite cafe that seemed quite decent. They can't receive your luggage if you want to delivery it from your previous accommodation. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again.
Seila T — Google review
Great hostel in general with a great cafe, but only a 3 star and my least favorite hostel this far in Tokyo due to having pretty much no functional locker. At most it fits an ipad and a wallet, not even a laptop. The capsules have enough space to install a larger locker box, so I think it would be a good investment. Would be 5 stars with a bigger locker box If it wasn't for my own locks I brought, I would have felt very uncomfortable leaving my things behind.

I am writing this review for the café, not the hotel. I placed a takeout order and briefly stepped away, only to be chased down by the cashier, who raised their voice at me in front of everyone, making it appear as though I had stolen something. They told me I had taken the wrong order—even though they were the ones who handed it to me. I immediately went back inside and offered to pay for the incorrect item (a tea that wasn’t part of my order), but they told me it wasn’t necessary. However, when I arrived home, I discovered that my entire order was incorrect. This experience was embarrassing and frustrating, and I hope the café improves its customer service and order accuracy.

The dorm was clean and the bathrooms were pretty spotless! Didn’t have much interaction with the receptionists because I didn’t need to. Close to the station and there’s a 7/11 close by.

A wonderful little hostel in the quiet suburb of kagurazaka, very centred to young travellers. a lot of things about this place were wonderful. The staff who went above and beyond for us from: • taking our brekkie orders early to allow us to catch the bus to our next location • sharing a japan-wide vegan restaurant list to us (which we have used our entire trip), • Helping us figure out the rental bikes • shipping us our lost items to our new hostel. The hostel itself which included: • An electronically locked women's only room • A common room with necessities (stove, pan, rice cooker, microwave, fridge, coffee, tea, oil) • 🌱vegan/vegetarian brekkie meal options- Unlimited continental brekkie (yoghurt, coffee, orange juice) • Free hostel group tours and events which included food • A solo sauna They offer lots of free amenitites- unlimited shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cream, cotton pads, one free towel, bike hire until 7pm, free candy downstairs. The location was a quiet neighbourhood but public transport such as the 61 bus and Kagurazaka station were close by, so we could reach the tourist spots we needed to explore. A special thanks to Julija, who gave us the vegan menu which saved us throughout the whole trip; and Sho, who helped us patiently with our bike rental and shipped my lost items to Osaka for me! Check in and check out was easy and food everyday was delicious. Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable stay

HOTEL GRAPHY 渋谷 is a unique hotel that combines spatial design and graphic art to offer an immersive experience in the vibrant Shibuya neighborhood. The newly opened hotel features clean and friendly staff, with dormitory rooms equipped with refrigerators for convenience. While the rooms are compact, the hotel's prime location allows easy access to Shibuya and Ebisu. Guests can also enjoy free drinks at the bar and appreciate the attention to cleanliness throughout the property.
So incredibly happy I found this hotel. The location is awesome. The staff are Japanese and English speaking and are some of the nicest people you’ll meet. Everybody was so kind and friendly. Originally we booked a shared bathroom for four nights and on our last night, we moved into a room with its own bathroom. Was it worth the extra hundred dollars? Yes! That being said we were OK not having it before. Through room with its own bathroom is considerably bigger. In both rooms, the beds were comfortable. The amenities were good. Bottles of water, toothbrushes, ear plugs, eye masks. There is an inexpensive and very convenient laundromat next-door. They offer free coffee on the seventh floor. Every day from 5 to 6 there is free beer in the lobby. They also give you one free, complementary drink upon arrival. I will definitely be staying here in the future. Thank you everybody who works here who made this visit that much more incredible!

The hotel was really nice. Please do note that the rooms can accommodate only two people at the time so if you are a group of three, you need to take two different rooms and the best is to get the prices directly from the reception don’t go from booking.com. That is bit expensive. The rooms are really good and the cleaning team is good to the reception. They are really good. They could speak good English as well. The really good thing about that. It’s not too far from the station. It’s like almost 10 minutes by walk you could do that and then it’s a real center to all those famous places to walk the crossing you could go there

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect — right between the lively and the quieter areas, so you get the best of both worlds. It’s close to two train stations, which makes it easy to get anywhere, and you can also explore a lot just by walking. Our room was very comfortable and surprisingly spacious. On the top floor, there’s a billiard table, free beer, and free coffee — a great place to relax, especially when the sun is out. We loved our time here and would definitely come back.
Alexandra L — Google review
Location was perfect! We really loved the front desk and restaurant staff - they were amazing! So friendly, welcoming, and always went above and beyond to help us. The main reason for my rating is due to the overall cleanliness of the rooms, hallways, bathrooms, and shared showers. After spending two weeks in Japan and experiencing the exceptional cleanliness and care at other hotels, this property fell a bit short in comparison. It didn’t quite have the same sense of pride in maintaining public spaces or the attention to detail we experienced elsewhere. There was also an unfortunate musty odor in our room and a foot-like odor in the hallway. That said, we truly appreciated the amenities, the warm hospitality of the staff, and the tasty food. Their kindness really made a difference in our stay.
Alexis P — Google review
The location is fantastic, just a 10-minute walk from Shibuya station. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly, and the entire place was spotless. We had a room with a private bath—it was definitely small (the bathroom felt like it belonged in an RV!), but we barely spent any time there. A pro tip: absolutely get the breakfast; I looked forward to it every single morning. After an unexpected night at an APA hotel in Kyoto, I can 1000% confirm Hotel Graphy is the superior choice.
Camille G — Google review
Great value stay in the heart of Shibuya! Stayed 2 nights at Hotel Graphy Shibuya and it was the perfect base for exploring the area. Super close to Shibuya Crossing and the station—everything was walkable. The room was clean, cozy, and way better than expected for the price. Loved chilling in the lounge and grabbing breakfast + coffee at the 1st-floor cafe every morning. Fresh pastries and good brews made the start of the day easy. Only downside: bathroom and shower are separate, which felt a bit inconvenient at times. Still, didn’t ruin the vibe. Would definitely come back next time I’m in Tokyo. Solid pick for budget-conscious travelers who want style and location.
RivailsLogan — Google review
Unfortunately it’s at a minimum 10min walking distance from main stations even though Shibuya is my favorite area it felt a bit outside. Regards the open bar from 5/6 pm I think this has been amazing to socialize and we used the rooftop floor as well to have fun before heading out. Overall very positive review and friendly staff. Really suited for young people and I would definitely keep it in mind when coming back🙏🏼☺️
Mnl A — Google review
The main redeeming factor was the café and bar but the room and especially bathroom were at ibis budget level but for double the typical ibis price. I know it’s Tokyo and Shibuya but the price for this type of basic accommodation is too high. There is no lobby area and the café area was closed to guests the following morning. They almost charge as much as the Shibuya Stream when the difference is night and day. As well as that, the check out is 11am when 12pm is the typical check out time in other hotels in Tokyo. The staff in café and bar were amazing though.

The hostel has an industrial aesthetic with wooden capsule-style dormitories and is perfect for anyone looking to stay in Tokyo's vibrant Shibuya district.

It was great, i stayed one week in this location and i do not have any complaints. Check in was quick and easy, my bed was clean and the restrooms are in very good conditions, i had my bed on the fifth floor, the staff is very friendly and they have food and drinks promos every day, It seems they have parties once a while and that makes the place even better, when i go back to Tokyo i will definitely stay there again.

The service here made my trip! My flight arrived late and I missed check in. The front desk reached out to me by email to help find a solution. Thanks to their kindness, I did not have to sleep on the street! I truly felt so cared for staying here. Though the space is very cramped in the rooms, the hostel does as much as it can to keep things organized. Showers, bathrooms, and grooming areas complete with sinks and blow dryers are all separate. I never had to fight for a place to get ready. Staff acknowledge everyone whether coming or going with a smile. I utilized their storage area for the day and had no problems, and even stayed for a delicious lemon sour at their bar. I would 100% come back here just for the vibes.

Hostel recommended by a couple bloggers which is how we landed here. Based on reviews I did not expect a friendly atmosphere, but wow there sure is not. The staff are not welcoming at all. We arrived 30 minutes before move in, they made every single person wait to check in at 4, likely the rooms ready. Really didn’t bother us, but something to know. No lockers or storage room - your bags sit by the elevator if you leave them with them if you arrive early. Not the safest space with a back door access close by. We stayed in a private twin room, it was comfortable and clean. Had our own tiny sink and mirror. Really comfortable comforters, bed was decent. Small locker with key inside the bed. Another one night stay for us so it suited our over night in Shibuya. It’s about a 15 min walk from the train station / bus station once you know the lay of the land it’s pretty easy. Recommend for those who are not caring for a hostel atmosphere or friendly serviced stay. No info about things to do, tours or anything hostel typical.
Shannon M — Google review
Excellent hostel! It is comveniently located about 15 min walking from the very busy Shibuya, so perfect to have a good night of sleep and be close to the centre with all the transportation methods. The staff is very helpful. There is a small common area where you can get drinks. I stayed in the 30 pax dorm and it was amazing; the beds are well separated, it was very quiet at all times, comfortable bedding and a box with key to keep your valuables. There were 3 bathrooms on my floor but I never had to wait to use them. The shower was hot and the stream was good, there's soap, shampoo and even conditioner. Overall I'd give it a 10/10 and would highly recommend if you're looking for a budget accomodation in Tokyo!

The hostel is great, the reception is open 24*7 thats really nice. Nestled conveniently within walking distance from Shimbashi Station, Rembrandt Cabin & Spa Shimbashi offers a unique capsule experience in the heart of Tokyo. Spanning levels 2 to 9, guests can enjoy clean and comfortable sleeping capsules while accessing public bathrooms and a sauna on lower floors. The reception is located on level 4, where lockers are available for daily items, while larger luggage can be securely stored at level 1.
I stayed for three nights and the service was amazing. The staff was friendly and really made me feel welcomed. This was my first experience staying in a capsule hotel and it didn't disappoint. The capsules themselves were spacious, clean facilities, and common space with loads of manga to read and chill out. Would stay here again and would recommend.

walking distance from shimbashi station. sleeping area is up at lvl 6 to 9. public bathroom and sauna at lvl 3 and 2 respectively. locker at level 4 where reception is. you store your big luggage at level 1 after the gantry. check in is strictly from 3pm to midnight. if you book consecutive days, you need to vacate the building between 10am to 2pm for their cleaning, but you will go back to your original bed. good experience sleeping in capsules/cabin type. price is okay. good for solo travellers especially. morning breakfast and coffee were free but while it last. everyone minding their own business, so it's cool. you have hairdryer, huge vanity mirror and hair products to share. all clean, all good. there is also working floor at lvl 5 for reading, working, eating, etc.

Staying at Rembrandt Cabin & Spa in Shimbashi was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The facilities are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, creating the perfect balance between comfort and convenience. The cabins are cozy, well-equipped, and offer excellent privacy while still maintaining the charm of a capsule-style stay. The spa and bathing areas were a highlight – beautifully maintained, peaceful, and ideal for unwinding after a busy day of exploring the city. Everything felt spotless and carefully managed, making it easy to fully relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally kind, professional, and attentive, always ready to help with a warm smile. The location is also very convenient, close to transport and attractions, making it a great base for travelers.

I have been to several capsule/cabin hotels. This one is by far the worse. Staff: some people at the front desk are just lost. Some are doing their best. Policies: overall some of the policies of the place are not smart, they should see what other places do and get inspiration. « Guests should not have tattoos » I understand the rule, yet there were lots of guests with tattoos in the changing rooms. « Guests should not be inebriated » well there are several guests drinking in the lounge and acting drunk in the changing rooms. What’s the point of rules if you don’t enforce them? Some guests were very ill-mannered. Last thing, the elevator is the dumbest I have seen in Japan.
Adrien H — Google review
I have stayed in capsule hotels before, and am a fan. This place just does not make sense. You have essentially to check out and leave the hotel every day of your stay from 10-12 (or 10-15 - the rules were not clear). If you are jetlagged or just tired, it is really annoying to get a knock at 9am telling you to get out within the hour. Beyond that, the onsen makes the whole place incredibly warm, and there is only one elevator (and no stairs). It took me 20 minutes to leave one day as the elevator stopped at every floor, was too full when it came the first time, then repeated the whole process of going 1st to 9th floor, stopping at almost each level, then back down. Cannot recommend.
Jonathan K — Google review
I really enjoyed my stay at Rembrandt, keeping in mind that it's a capsule hostel with spa facilities rather than a full-service hotel. The capsules are clean and comfortable, with fresh sheets provided every day. Each resident is provided with a locker for daily items, while larger luggage must be stored in a luggage room downstairs (which doesn't seem to be an issue - although the room isn’t staffed, it does have a security camera). The spa area is excellent, featuring hot pools, a sauna, and a steam room. There are also user-friendly washing machines available. Additionally, the lounge area is great for those working remotely. The only minor drawback is that all residents must vacate the hotel between 10 am and noon for cleaning. However, there are plenty of nearby Starbucks cafes for those needing a place to work during that time.

I put my wallet in locker and I checked it on check out time on the front desk but unfortunately there is no money there. I try to complain to the staff but they said locker can open with your key only.very bad experience 👎👎👎they are stealing the money please be careful

Why are people slamming this place so bad in the reviews?! It’s one of the best capsule hotels I’ve stayed in. Let me begin with the SPA: 2 saunas, one of it is 110 degrees temperature (super hot) and the other one about 90 so you got options. There are also 2 cooling pools; 7 degrees & 18 degrees, huge relaxing area, hot pools Onsen style… simply amazing. You get to unwind and relax for hours and for this price? Amazing. The capsule itself is spacious, clean & comfortable and it’s the first time it’s actually quiet. There are locker rooms where you can comfortably fit your backpack so again, no idea what people are complaining about here… Additionally the WiFi is super fast.

Great Location by Ueno Station. We stayed here back in 2023 for our first family vacation, nothing was wrong then & it was awesome, we wanted to come back in the future & stay here again. This time we went in April of this year, but only stayed for 1 night since the place was booked out. Horrible experience this year. Found a pair of socks from the past guest hidden in my sheets & ended up getting bed bug bites all over my legs, feet and stomach. Traumatizing. After leaving my room to complain to reception, I found the housekeeping staff sitting in the hallway texting & playing on their phones. My bed was the only one not professionally cleaned, compared to the other 3 beds in the room. Reported both the housekeeping staff & the bites. They took pictures of my bitten feet & reimbursed me for the night. I’m glad they took my bites serious but I hope they train that housekeeping staff better. Will be forever traumatized & never staying at this hotel ever again.

Great little hotel / hostel, a stone's throw from Ueno (station / park / you name it), which in itself is single train trip on the skyliner. Tight but efficiently spaced rooms, some with direct views of the ueon train tracks - which the kids will LOVE. Great little bar in the foyer to enjoy an drink while waiting for check in / before or after a night on the town. Rooms have heaps of charging points for all your gadgets. Friendly staff who allowed us to check in an hour early to get hot and tired kids up into a nice cool room!

Have stayed at Grids Ueno twice now. I find the service good, the staff are friendly and helpful. The overall setup is basic but very functional, and the location in Ueno is ideal if you want to be reasonably central for travel but away from the crowds a bit. Bunk rooms are comfortable for what they are, and 4 to a room means a bit more privacy and less noise than a larger occupancy setup. Will happily stay at Grids Ueno again on my next trip!

This hostel gets great public relations, but it’s a terrible place to stay. There are no stairs. The elevator is super slow. You can’t open any windows. The rooms are small and smells like fit. The people at their reception were rude and very non-Japanese behavior. I paid for three nights, but left after the first night because I couldn’t sleep there mainly because of the smell. When I told the receptionist about it, there was zero empathy from his side. Needless to say that I was not offered any compensation.

Overrated, room smelled like feet, dirt under mattress. Staff was kind enough for the most part. Good location, lots to see in the area. Kombini and restaurants a plenty. No smoking area, no vending machines. Towels aren’t included and are extra which is a bit ridiculous. Rooms have an awkward layout for the bunks and mattresses are thin and firm (I love me a shikibuton but these were pushing it a bit). You can find cheaper places to stay with more amenities that are far cleaner and more comfortable in Tokyo though so I wouldn’t recommend nor will I be returning. No bed bugs this stay thank the lord.

My bedsheets weren’t clean upon arrival, see picture . However, I am really positive about everything else. The cabins are super private with the curtains and they stop all light from coming in. The bathrooms were also clean. They offer free water and even sanitary item, soaps are also provided in the showers. A station is nearby with lines to reach everywhere in Tokyo. I’d really recommend this place and would come back!

The location is really convenient. It’s near Ueno station and if you looking for convenient store, there is a family mart nearby.

Cocts Akihabara is a minimalist hostel located just a short walk from Akihabara Station. The hostel offers streamlined dorms and rooms, some featuring permanent tents for a unique stay. The sleek wooden interior creates a tranquil atmosphere in the midst of the bustling city. Private rooms with tatami mats provide a traditional accommodation option, while groups can book the Complex Room for an indoor glamping experience with tents, sleeping bags, and entertainment amenities.
Nice budget hotel. You can rent one bed for 2 people. Not much space but it gets the job done. Communal showers are a little small, so the humidity can make drying off difficult. All in all a good place to spend the night for travelers.

Its not a clean hostel. I found so many black long hairs in my bed its really disgusting. They say you can get a free donut for breakfast every day from 8:30 till 10:00. First I think its starts really late, but even if you are there at like 9 or 9:30 they are already gone. Don’t say breakfast included if its like this. Really dissapointed. I stayed in a lot of hotels/hostels in Japan that were amazing. But this one is really dirty, loud en the service is just not it. I was excited and had really good expectations, but I’m really dissapointed

I had a very disappointing experience with this hostel. My flight was delayed, so I arrived shortly after midnight. At that point, the reception was closed and I was unable to check in. Since there was no clear communication beforehand that late check-in would not be possible, I ended up having to spend the night outside. When I contacted the hostel afterwards, they refused to offer any kind of refund or solution, claiming I had no proof. This lack of flexibility and customer care was extremely frustrating. For travelers relying on flights and potential delays, I cannot recommend this hostel. Clearer communication and better support for guests in such situations are absolutely necessary.

Was a bit disappointed with this place overall. Room was not as shown in photos online - two bunks very close together and basically no space for suitcases to be opened. No shelves in bunks etc. When we arrived staff not present at check in desk and had to wait quite a while. Once checked in we realised that the staff had not really given us much info - regarding towel hires, bathroom location, public spaces etc. Public spaces in this hostel are minimal - only a cafe which is open to public during the day and a rooftop for smokers which is hard to access. However, there were also loads of positives. Location was excellent for our needs - really quick to get to airport and Tokyo station as Akihabara station is only a short walk. Facilities were also very clean and modern - showers and toilets were lovely! If you are fine with being quite close to your neighbours and having to stay mostly in your bunk, this place is actually fine for most travellers.

Istg I love staying here!! Glad my friend and I found this hotel :') Spacious room for us, clean, friendly and english speaker staffs, they even put recommendation near places to visit, they have lounge and a cafe as well ☺ I think I got a really good price when I stayed 🤭 Walking distance to Akihabara station and Asakusabashi Station. I totally recommend this hotel 👏 Thank you!!

A great place to lay your head, with the bed capsules being deceptively large, but could use double mattress and slightly more in terms of pillows, or bring your own Would absolutely go back though.

Absolutely loved my stay here! Ive been to plenty of hostels, but this was by far my favorite one I have stayed at. Every single staff member was accommodating and friendly. I was in a 12 bed shared dorm and the lockers fit my carry-on luggage. It also came with their own key that they give you at check in! There is also a small privacy screen for each bed, as well as a personal light and outlet for charging your devices. Everything was kept extremely clean, and the beds were comfy too! If I come back to Tokyo in the future, I plan on staying here again. Thank you to everyone who made my stay amazing, hopefully those Trader Joes bags will be put to good use! 😁👍

Serviced accommodation
Obi Hostel is a modern and stylish accommodation located in the charming Nihonbashi area of Tokyo. It offers utilitarian dorms, a casual cafe/bar, and a communal kitchen for guests to use. The hostel's design blends historical surroundings with contemporary lifestyle, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that appeals to young travelers and families. Conveniently situated near stations and with a konbini next door, it provides easy access to Tokyo's bustling city center.
This location is centered around 3 commonly used train lines where one of it is a direct line to the airport. There are so many Lawson and 7/11 and family mart within walking distance. What even is more amazing is the staff. They are quite chill and speaks English very fluently. This is the first place that is okay with me taking a shower after I check out and after i stored my luggage there as my flight is at night. Shower rooms is too little imo, 2 for males and 2 for females I think. I also noticed that this place has so many foreigners from all over places. If you want to make friends, this place makes it more accessible for you. Disadvantage is there is no longue to hang out other than the sofa table area behind the reception
Froghead F — Google review
The one thing I expect from a guesthouse besides sleep is to feel welcome and obi hostel failed at that. The cheap price and presence of a gym help justify the military comfort and complete absence of space for the guests to relax, but not the hostility of the staff. Plus: Great location next to akihabara Gym is really good and cheap, I definitely appreciated my morning gym there. It has everything you need. Beds are quite low comfort but for the price I'm not complaining. Bad: Don't expect to stay during the day unless you stay in your bed because you have to evacuate all the tables for the restaurant's guests. The ambiance turns somewhat hostile approaching noon. Lockers sometimes get jammed or something so you have to ask for them to unlock it. It happened to several people during my one night stay so it is probably something with the lockers. Worst part: Telling me that it's my fault the locker got jammed and that I got the numbers wrong and leaving without a word while I'm still talking was straight up disrespectful. I talked for 10 seconds, your patience can handle it. When you're used to travelling in guesthouses you don't just forget the 4 digits pin you just set literally 5 minutes ago on the locker containing all your valuables, twice in a row in less than half an hour..... I'd be aware if it was the kind of thing I do.

In respect to the price its a great place. I was able to get two nights of stay including breakfast and the gym usage for 48 Euros which is not bad. The gym is decent and you can use it 24/7 !!!!!!!!. It does get full though at around 7 pm. The location is perfect with a close subway station to the city. The breakfast was very healthy and tasty. The only critique is perhaps the sleeping area itself. If you are willing so sacrifice a little bit of comfort than this is a perfect place to stay. Otherwise really good. There is convenient store nearby and the ground floor has a good siting area to get any planning or working done.

Staff were lovely, just the hostel feels like a afterthought. The dorm was very cramped. No room really to organise things. There seems to be permanent people also living in the dorm. It can be noisy as it’s one long room right next to the bathroom. The person next to me in the bunk was playing audio from the phone all night so that didn’t help with my sleep. The bathrooms felt small, only a few toilets and sinks. There’s no really common area at all. They say you can use one of the tables in the restaurant below but it was always taken. So you can seem to only chill in the bed really. Location was ok, it’s a quiet business area but close to the trains so you can go anywhere really. Maybe good for one night if you know what to expect but just don’t expect the same facilities that you get at other hostels.
Caleb V — Google review
I stayed at Obi Hostel with my sister for four days and can honestly say it was the worst place I’ve stayed in Japan — and this was my fourth trip, so I’ve been to plenty of hostels and hotels. To start with the few positives: the gym was open 24/7 and surprisingly well-equipped for its size. I used it every day. The location is also decent — about a 20-minute walk to Akihabara and close to a subway station. Unfortunately, that’s where the good part ends. There’s no real lounge area for guests, since the ground floor is basically a café for outside visitors until 11 p.m. That means there’s nowhere to relax or talk quietly — everyone ends up stuck in their bunks, which makes the dorms noisy and uncomfortable for anyone trying to sleep. The beds creak with every little movement, you can hear people using the toilets, and the bunks get unbearably hot with no airflow at all. During my entire stay, I never once saw the showers or bathrooms cleaned. Sheets and towels weren’t replaced, and no slippers were provided, unlike every other hostel I stayed at in Japan. The beds and pillows were also extremely uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the receptionist (Miyabi) was needlessly rude — when I politely asked where the nearest smoking area was, she just gave me a disgusted look and said, “I don’t smoke.” Not exactly helpful. Overall, it felt like a rip-off. Unless you desperately need access to a 24-hour gym and can’t find anywhere else, avoid this place. You’re better off booking any other hostel and getting a day pass at a nearby gym — you’ll sleep better, stay cleaner, and have a much nicer experience.

This was my first hostel experience and it was fantastic Very quiet, has a gym, free towel service, affordable washing machines, included soaps in the showers, and the host and hostess downstairs are both very well mannered and amicable to helping you find things nearby. It's in a less touristy location so you get to experience more of the non vacation Tokyo which is exactly what I was looking for.

Everyone at obi hostel was inviting, caring and friendly, I had a lot of fun at obi. Thank you all for making my trip great! I willbe back !

The room was very crammed and it felt like someone was permanently living in the dorm as it had a closed curtain area. The balcony you couldnt access and it didnt feel very safe as the door would constantly be left open. The room also didnt have carpet or tiles it was just concrete. Stayed in March 2025.

Budget Japanese inn
Ace Inn Shinjuku is a no-frills hostel located in the lively neighborhood of Tokyo. It's popular among budget travelers and backpackers due to its affordability and convenient location near shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The hostel offers shared kitchenettes, a dining area, and a TV lounge along with free Wi-Fi. Guests have praised the cleanliness and safety of the female-only bunk bed floor as well as the accommodating staff.
Great capsule hotel in Tokyo! Can be loud in the rooms, but it’s a lot better than other options around shinjuku! it’s important to note that the mattresses are extremely thin, so it is close to sleeping on the ground. But the location and service makes up for it in my opinion. The aircon in the rooms are both good in the winter and the summer, so don’t be afraid for cold/hot nights!
Mads R — Google review
Worst hostel I've seen, smell is awful on all floors, bathrooms are so dirty I would rather walk 30 minutes before using these. And that's not mentioning the broken showers, clogged drains that flood, broken chairs in the common area, nasty kitchen with other people's dishes, not cleaned capsule (not even sure if the sheets were changed), loud and obnoxious people on the same floor, no room for storing bags, horrible elevator that closes on you so fast. Don't get tricked into putting a payment in advance, I stayed at way nicer places for the same price in other parts of Japan.
Andrew J — Google review
I stayed at this hostel for a little over 2 weeks. In that time, I can safely say I've gotten an in-depth look at what this hostel has to offer. I pre-booked my hostel stay and I don't think the price was all too bad. Location-wise, Ace Inn is in a great spot, right next to Akebonobashi station and being close enough to Shinjuku for a not-so unpleasant walk. Getting elsewhere in Tokyo takes very little time, or money, to do. Cleanliness is where this place takes a bit of a nosedive, thanks in no small part to what seems like negligence from the owner/landlord, seemingly not wanting to invest the money to repair broken down laundry machines, doors, and even toilets on the various floors. The staff are all fantastic, and are the heart of Ace Inn. Willing to bend over backwards to solve issues that guests alert them to, they clearly love their job and/or the clientele. They deserve more support from upper management. The facilities have a lot to offer, multiple lobbies (ground and 9th floor), a laundry room in the basement, multiple appliances in either lobby to cook food with, a luggage storage area, and more. All in all, this hostel was a pleasant stay, and all the major negative points were generally tied to troublemakers and drunks who damaged property or did not pick up after themselves. Also, they could really use a TV on the ground floor for those who want to relax there.
Olivier P — Google review
Definitely wouldn’t recommend for women travellers, male worker entered the female only dorm multiple times whilst we were changing without knocking. Also had to walk past the front desk and lobby in towel after every shower booooo. Also ants everywhere and pretty poor conditions for the price. Also cockroaches.

Check in is not 24 hours. We were never sent the door code to self check in and no one answered the 24/7 help line. We never saw the beds or rooms but what we did see was basic and dirty. I would only recommend if you’re looking for a cheap place to stay for a short time.
Arielle G — Google review
The worst hostel in Japan, without a doubt. It smells awful, everything is neglected and dirty. The atmosphere feels like it’s stuck 100 years in the past. I don’t recommend anyone to stay here. Better to pay two dollars more and get a decent hostel.
Tal C — Google review
Really bad experience, I booked 4 nights and didn’t moove because they demand payed up front. I wonder why. The sheets were cleaned but the amount of dust and garbage around the matress was gross. It’s impossible, they don’t clean for more than months for the amnount of dust on it. Toilets igual, some out of order. Other there was a spilled basket with garbage on the female toilet that was there like that for more than 24 hours, a proof they don’t clean. The toilets don’t have light, you pray before you go there. The smell in the rooms is really bad. It’s the worst capsule hotel I have haver been in Japan and I was in many places before. Even the public areas aren’t cleaned enough. The showers have mold in every corner. The tapestries are old and full of dust, never seen water in their life. Forget the location and find another place, this doesn’t meet the basic cleanless standards.

one night stay max or not at all..the location is very good 2 minute walk from station and staff is super kind. paying for a cheap place to stay i didn’t expect much. however with that being said i genuinely think the owner needs to up this place or it needs to get reinspected to meet health and safety conditions. stayed for 4 night and not once was the washroom cleaned. there were clogged toilets feminine products and toilet paper on the ground in the washroom. on top of that it’s REAKS!!! it’s so smelly i gagged the whole time i was in there and had to cover my face genuinely smells so bad. there were flies both dead and alive in the stalls on the mirrors and in the sink. what looked like someone spit tooth paste on the mirror which was there when i arrived and still there when i left. i genuinely think it probably gets cleaned once a month if that. staff even came into the room to change sheets and nothing else was cleaned. i loved the bed set up as it was capsule style but the mattress itself was brutal. woke up with hip, back, neck, and shoulder pain. one night i couldn’t even sleep from the pulsing in my back from how hard the beds were, kinda felt like they weren’t even there and i was sleeping on the wood. i could deal with the washroom maybe for one night again if the beds were fixed however i would not recommend anyone to stay here unless it was a quick one night stay. keep in mind however it is cheap and you do get what you paid for. but the cleanliness is definitely not up to standards for any place you are paying to stay at.

Commun Shibuya is a male-only capsule hotel located in the heart of Shibuya ward, close to the famous Hachiko Statue. It's an excellent choice for solo male or business travelers who want to be within walking distance of the vibrant nightlife that Shibuya offers. The air-conditioned capsules come with televisions for entertainment, and the hotel is well-organized and super clean.
Place is pretty good only if you’re going to sleep. The location is up a decent hill so beware of this if you have luggage. Would also recommend only coming here with light luggage. While the cleanliness was just okay I really liked staying here because I usually just come to Tokyo to party for a weekend and they let me sleep in and no one bothered me. Would stay here again for the same purpose.

Cannot in good faith recommend this place. We checked in and immediately checked out not even 2 hours after. My two brothers and I are traveling around Japan and we decided to do a capsule hotel for our last leg of the trip in Tokyo. We had heard that capsule hotels were a cheap and convenient option so we decided to give it a try. We got to the hotel to check in, the lady at the lobby spoke very good English, so far so good. We get up to the 3rd floor where our beds are at, and I'm immediately hit by the smell. The vents are dirty, the floor has marks on it, it's clear that the actual hotel and the pictures online do not match up. The bathrooms and shower areas look actually disgusting. (This is coming from 3 boys who have been staying in close quarters together for over a week now). We thought we might be able to power through it, that was until we got to the lockers to try and store our luggage. The lockers are only medium sized, and each of us had multiple large suitcases. The lady at the lobby said we would just need to leave them in the storage area or at the front desk. If we had left the luggage with her, we effectively would have had to run up and down the stairs anytime we need to change or get something out of our bags. Did I mention that the bathroom is closed 5 hours a day and smells from the smoking area were leaking into the bed areas? We had to pay the cancellation fee (the cost of one night) which we swallowed because we're in Japan, but if this were anywhere else I would've fought very hard for a full refund. We feel scammed, the pictures didn't match the actual place, and there are better options not even 15 minutes away for only 40 dollars more per person. ONLY stay here if you are traveling extremely light, won't be in the hotel except to sleep, and enjoy the smell of feet.
L L — Google review
The staff was kind, wifi worked well, and it's a short walk to Shibuya station. The bed and space were clean, and the facilities were all maintained. That said, there is poor ventilation, so the rooms get very warm and smell heavily of cigarette smoke. They also make the spaces look MUCH larger than what they actually are. Even in the premium spaces, you're sleeping in a small area. Finally, if you're a young male looking to party all night, then this seems to be the spot. There was zero quiet through the night. I MIGHT have got 3 hours in from 9pm to 9am. If you want to get some actual rest or be able to breathe, go somewhere else.

Good place to try out if you need a place to stay for one day while travelling, it has virtually anything you need. That being said , the capsules in reality are a lot different, compared to what's advertised.

Check-in 22 Sep 26: 1. Rooms, toilet, storage is fine. Up to standard for a dormitory style accommodation. Affordable. I like the free amenities and robe. 2. Service - the person handled my check-in is a bit unfriendly (-1), no elevator, hence, carrying my 20kg luggage to 3F (-1), he dont allow me to leave my 20kg luggage at 1F, although i mentioned I dont need the luggage during 1 night stay (-1). Minus 3 stars. 3. Location - it is just fine, but just because shibuya is under renovation and the south gate, i found it quite troublesome to carry my 20kg luggage from the station to this accommodation. So minus 1. Overall ok, decent. Can be considered for next trip.
Shukri S — Google review
The location was quite close to Shibuya center, but takes easily a 10 to 15 minutes walk to reach Shibuya crossing. About the rooms, I wanted to try capsule hotel as a new experience but not for more than 2 or 3 days (in this hotel). I was on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. The staff seem to be nice but the service is so low. Very disappointing, they almost don't speak English. They didn't clean my room plus they refused to store my luggage on checkout day for only 2 hours pretending it is full of luggage which was not true. So very horrible service. And good luck if you don't speak Japanese.

For sleeping it would be just enough. No common room to hang out. The shower room are old and dirty. Toilet not bad. The upside is you could get fresh towel everyday for free compared to other hostels that usually charge ¥100 per towel

A little walk room the station up a couple of hills and over a road bridge which did have a lift if needed. They were very helpful and held my luggage 🧳 as arrived early because of leaving the other accommodation in morning 10am check out as checking is 3pm. Close to shops and scramble all walking distance. Wi-fi was good, the photos are deceptive as the common room and exercise rooms were both closed to clients so no where to sit and eat or mingle and chat with other people. I was on the 2nd floor one sink was out of order but the other five were working. Wanted boiling water 💧 asked reception but either did not understand i can only assume,as they had machines on each floor. But our floors was not working. Had to hand your keys 🔑 everytime you went out not a problem for me. Showers 🚿 hot and clean, capsule room clean quiet and small as expected. Was travelling on my own so wanted to try a capsule. Lockers were for a medium size case mine just fitted. But there was a storage room that you could lock your case up in if you had brought like a bike lock. Overal pleased with the accommodation saved 3 nights after being in Ueno.

The staff is known for their friendliness and helpfulness, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. While the rooms are small, they provide traditional Japanese-style accommodations that add to the cultural experience.
I was here for 5 days. Checking in we simple, easy and fast. Adequate amount of restrooms and showers. The location is only about 10-8 minutes from Shinagawa such is very good. The staff was very kind, friendly, and spoke good English. Prefect for solo travelers or anyone who is looking for hotel alternatives/ affordable stay.

Lovely Staff memebers, you feel home in a breeze. We were in a cozy little room (for 3p) + bathrom on the floor but suuper clean and, in pefect japan kindnest style, a sign that apologize for the noisy flush of water of the toilet! Perfect for a budget visit, restaurants on the same street and a good bakery in french style near there.

Compare to price and facilities, it is quite expensive hotel. I stayed in a single room in the basement, shared toilet and shower, no TV or any serving in the room. I made my bad, the quilt cover was brown color, I think they don't wash them very often. They give two sheets, one for matrass, one for quilt. It costed 6600 yen. I stayed in another hotel before with a lot of facilities was 8500 yen per night, breakfast included. But it was quiet, there were few guests and used shower without problem or waiting. I was staying in another hotel, but it was very far away to airport. This hotel is closer to airport

The most comfortable dorm room I’ve ever slept in. After months of private rooms in India and SE Asia, I was nervous to go back to dorm life, but this place made the transition smooth. Very comfortable bed and a curtain that made things quite private. The staff are incredible! And the central location is great to get anywhere in Tokyo fairly quickly.

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was brilliant. 1) Good location to explore Tokyo 2) Good location for local dining, hanging out, etc. 3) Hostel is very clean and hygienic - lots of cleaning going on, bathrooms and toilets were great. 4) The capsules to sleep in were awesome, comfortable, good privacy and lots of room. 5) There are staff on hand 24/7 if there are any problems. To explore Tokyo on a budget, you start from this Hostel absolutely 100%> Thank you.

Very clean and comfortable beds with full privacy and power/usb outlet by the bed. All staff spoke English which was helpful and all very kind lovely people. Everything is cleaned daily and they provide soap/shampoo/conditioner. Well priced. Luggage area is a bit small but other guests had ski gear, it should be fine in summer. Excellent location in a more quiet and wealthy area of Tokyo, with decent food options and train access to major attractions.

Good location, clean amenities and wonderful staff. The bed were bigger than i expected and comfortable. The nearest metro station (Tameike-sannō Staation) is just 300m away. So well connected and lots of restaurants and cafes around.

It was very clean, organized and had a bunch of friendly tourists from what seemed to be every edge of the world. It was a cozy and nice place to call a night after being out and about all day sometimes stopping for a nap mid-day. Highly recommend if on a budget for atmosphere and location is sooooo good! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

10 “Great Value for Money” If you've been meaning to find a home base as you explore Tokyo, I'd definitely recommend Akasaka Guesthouse. Pros: (i) It's a short walk away from the Tokyo Subway (Ginza Line) making most, if not all, of Tokyo accessible. (ii) They have great WiFi! If you need to upload your vlogs at the end of the day, they have you covered. (iii) They have a laundry unit and a drier unit. Once you run out of stuff to wear, you have the option to do laundry. (iv) Safe! Equipped with cameras, locks, and safety boxes for your personal belongings (v) they have a place to leave your luggage before and after your stay. Cons (i) it's first come, first served at the laundry. But the staff will point you to the nearest one if the queue is full (ii) No elevator! It'll honestly be tough to carry your luggage up the stairs. But if you've packed lightly, you should be fine. 9/10 would recommend!

No frills, clean place, and very convenient to travel to various areas around Tokyo. Recommended if you're looking for an affordable place to stay and don't mind a shared space with fellow travellers.

This is a great little place fairly close to the CBD and everything else like, stations, 711, and restaurants. Capsules, rooms and common area were very clean and organised. AC was cold and the fridge, microwave, Free WIFI and smart TV all worked as they should. They even include a luggage area in each room and a valuables locker for each capsule. The only downside would be the stairs.

Akasaka no Sato is a women-only hostel offering homey dorms with bunk beds and shower-only bathrooms. Guests have found the 4-bed rooms with big windows, toilets, and shower cabins to be an unbeatable value. The staff, led by Satoshi San, are friendly and helpful, ensuring a safe and comfortable stay. Toiletries, combs, and towels are provided daily in this clean guesthouse located in a calm neighborhood near Akasaka Mitsuke station.
I stayed at a 3 bunk bed room with my friends for 4 nights. Uncle (in charge of the place) was accommodating and thoughtful, even offering to drive us to our next accommodation in Ginza :) Toiletries, combs and towels were also provided daily. The guesthouse was close to many delicious food places and convenience stores. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed this place, our room was upstairs and was nice. If there's no one at reception then ring the door bell. Make sure you tell them in advance what time you're arriving.

Good location , there are two metro stations within walking distance serving 3 lines in total. I stayed in the private room for one person, not sure why the hotel placed a bunk bed in the room.. I couldn't sit upright on the bed without hitting my head. Everything else was great, the shower has good water pressure and temperature control. I hope the hostel can consider changing to single bed for this room.

This is also a place that caters to men. The place that was for women was one floor. Is was quiet and we liked the neighborhood but the bunk bed was terribly squeaky which made it hard to sleep. It's clean and affordable. I'd still stay again but I'd take earplugs. Don't go in expecting the Ritz because this is more like staying in the spare room of an aunt's place but it did the trick. We had a little fridge and there is a kettle. Good cheap food everywhere in the neighborhood. Apart from checking in we didn't see staff. It's down a tiny alley. You turn at the cute french pastry shop. The door is on the right. There are two signs on it. I think it's orange but you'll immediately see the mint green paint in the adds.

A dorm room with window and girls only - that’s an unbeatable value to stay at Sato’s. I stayed at a 4-bed room with a big window, toilet and shower cabin for three nights. Rooms and public space were generally clean and quiet. Really a bargain with the location in Akasaka. Satoshi San And his staff were friendly, polite and helpful. I felt safe staying here and could really get good sleep. Thank you Satoshi San.

Clean place however with poor sound proofing. For similar price per person you can find better rooms in this area. Quite a distance walk from the train stations.

(Translated by Google) It's cheap and close to the city center. It's incredibly cheap. However, in exchange for that, you have to give up on cleanliness. They'll probably clean the place, but there might be squashed moths on the walls, and the only loungewear they provide might be pants with the elastic exposed, so you should think of it as staying at a slightly sloppy friend's house. Also, if you leave something here, you have to go and pick it up. They can't send it by mail. Electronics might be one thing, but even clothes have to be picked up locally. Overall, I don't recommend it. I arrive at Haneda Airport at 10:30 pm. After completing all formalities I reached here at 12 o'clock midnight. Thanks to that beautiful lady for open the door at that time and accept me as a guest. I was able to sleep better than I expected. The shower room and toilet were very clean. There was a shared kitchen with all necessary equipment. I cooked there some times. The room also had a locker for personal use. I stayed there for 6 nights. I hope to visit this guest house again and again.

It's a great hostel for females. The rooms and bathrooms are separated by gender. The service was good but the place was too dark. There's something that bothered me which was the humidity. The whole place was extremely humid and I asked them many times to have the windows open for ventilation but they refused:/. Also, the hostel is just right under a train/subway station so expect passing trains all the time but between 12 midnight and 5 am. The beds were ok not too rigid but not so comfy.

Tokyo Summary Court is a place where you can handle claims for non-payment and conduct mediation procedures or court proceedings on your own. The staff are known for being very polite, making the process easy to navigate. It's a facility that operates with savings in mind, which can be seen throughout the building. However, some visitors have noted areas that could benefit from more funding, such as improving the air conditioning and using higher quality paper for documents.

They did not read the preliminary document at all, accepted the defendant's defense without evidence at face value, and proceeded with the story based on the contents of the defendant's written rebuttal. The judicial committee member seems to be a lawyer, but he is also a real estate agent, and I was surprised to see that he only listened to what the defendant had to say, perhaps because he was targeting ordinary consumers who requested security deposits. The judicial committee members have a biased way of thinking and ignore the law. It is impossible to deal with each other in a straightforward manner in a summary court. In particular, small claims cases cannot be appealed, so there is a possibility of a disappointing outcome. The judge didn't even look at the preliminary documents. I was also told that it would be impossible to go to the district court anyway. That shouldn't happen, and if you're suing the person in person, they'll assume you don't have the knowledge and take a dismissive attitude. So, don't expect too much from a summary trial. Nestled in a prime location, Akasaka The Hostel offers a modern and clean environment that travelers will appreciate. Since enhancing security measures in May 2013, guests can enjoy peace of mind with restricted access between 11 PM and 6 AM. The spacious bathrooms are well-maintained, and the convenience of having sinks near the sleeping pods adds to the overall experience. While some noise may occur depending on fellow guests, using earbuds can help ensure a restful stay.
This place has great reviews on the booking sites but for some reason not on Google. I decided to take a chance and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything is super clean, the beds, toilets and showers. They have a microwave and free coffee. The only negative thing I could say is that depending on who's staying, it can get noisy at night.

Pretty good hostel overall! + : good location, clean, modern hostel, good wifi connection, self check-in. - : no cooking stove, small common space, bathroom not separated from the bedroom (so you can hear other people brushing their teeth in the morning), small blanket.

0 separation between beds, toilets, entrance and lounge - absolutely too noisy.
Rex — Google review
I've visited more than 20 cities in Japan and this place is the worst excuse for a hostel. They cramped 20 people into a room and everyone looked miserable because there was no space and privacy to interact for fear of waking others up. The sinks were next to the beds and you could hear people showering brushing washing and drying their hair from the bed all day and night. I booked a studio on Agoda but they refused to honour the booking. They said they only had a capsule for me. Furthermore, the lady tried to extort 3000yen per night more for their linen room with one bed, which was essentially a storage room for their bedsheets. Plenty of dust mites too because my allergies acted up during the nights. They should be shut down for the poor condition.
Zhiyang — Google review
Great location but everything was in the same room (beds, showers, hairdryers…) so it gets crowded and loud in the evening Not very pleasant if you wanna get a good night’s rest

There’s no staff from check in to checkout. The bedrooms are separate and visitors can keep their privacy. The information they sent me before check in was partly wrong but I could manage it. The bathrooms and showers are clean. I have nothing to say about the price.

Great location, clean and modern hostel!!! Not sure what it is about the hot water with other people in sure they just couldn’t figure out how it works lol the bathrooms were spacious and clean. And yes sink is right in front of the pods and yes you can hear people come in and out (all depends on the person if they’re being loud) but everything being within the same area to include the shower rooms along with a very good air conditioning made it very convenient for me. Use earbuds!! The place is modern and the location again, unbeatable specially for the price. Recommend!

Hands down the best accommodation I stayed at during my trip to Tokyo, and possibly the coolest accommodation I’ve ever stayed at! Disclaimer: this place is not for everyone – if you are expecting boring, grey, cookie-cutter box apartment/hotel room, then this place is not for you… However, if you are a creative and fun-loving person looking for a unique, playful, colourful, aesthetic place to stay, then I highly recommend this place! Great location in a peaceful neighbourhood in Shinagawa City – about a 7-min walk to Osaki Station, 2-min walk to the nearest 7-11, and plenty of dining options around as well (just ask Li, the host/owner, for local food recommendations!) Li was an awesome host – she was very responsive to my messages, gave clear directions on how to get to the place, and showed us around the accommodation and all of the cool things it had to offer when we arrived including a vinyl DJ mixer, overhead projector, a retro TV, board games, and cool magazines. The space is clearly an expression of her bubbly, energetic personality and perfectly matches her vibe! Will be staying here again next time I visit Tokyo for sure!

Since it had DJ equipment, my DJ friends and I spent almost every day playing music and sharing our recent vinyl purchases. The host, Ajie, was incredibly helpful and even helped us organize an event on October 10th, where we learned from local Japanese DJs. This B&B is incredibly friendly and a tranquil escape from the bustling city. While not as luxurious as a high-end hotel, it offers all the amenities and, more importantly, a personal touch that I believe no other hotel can match! If you're comfortable sharing a room and a shared bathroom, I highly recommend gathering four friends and booking a room together. It's a truly wonderful experience. I'll definitely visit Ajie again next time I'm here. The apartment is spacious enough to accommodate up to five guests, featuring a kitchenette, living area, and comfortable sleeping arrangements.
Really good place for family and friends to stay in. Location is very good because its super near the train station. The unit owners are so nice and the place is very clean. Well recommended!

I would not recomend if you want to sleep untill 9:00 or need dark room to sleep well. We stayed here only 1 night. We slept ok. But the bed squeeks and there are street lights next to the windows without blackout curtains (we tried to bloc street lamp light). When light started shining it woke us too early along with noise from the street.

If you are going to book this DONT, even for $50 this place is horrendous i booked this for me and my family and spent 30 minutes knocking on the building in-front of it because no pictures show what this place looks like. Once in I realized you have to walk up 4 flights of stairs with your luggage because there is no elevator I was completely over it. The room isn’t nice enough for all that trouble. To save yourself time PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

Quite a small place but big enough for 1 or 2 at a squeeze. No handbasin and "kitchen " very cramped. But comfortable enough for my purpose.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The neighbourhood around the apartment is wonderful - shops for food, convenience stores and pharmacy. The apartment is 2 - 3 mins walk from the Nishi-Oi station (w escalators & lift, yes!). Apartment is spacious enough for 5 pax with a kitchenette, living space, TV area & beds. Very comfortable living space w good sized toilet & bathing areas. There's also a washing machine but it needs heater (in bathroom) to dry the clothes. Downsides - no lift which is problematic if the apartment is on 3rd floor. The soundproofing is not that great. On 2nd floor, we can hear footsteps & dragging of furniture from units above. Not for those who are sensitive to such sounds. Overall, the vibe of the neighborhood is great, there's a direct train to Narita & close proximity to the station are reasons for me to stay again.

We picked this instagrammable Airbnb in Tokyo because it looked cute in pictures. The entrance to this apartment was in the back lane, not the main road, which was a bit tricky to find at night. The good things: - The place is nicely decorated with 2D wall painting - They give you things basic necessities, like toothbrushes, hair dryer etc - It's close to Family Mart, 7-11, a grocery store (Maruetsu Petit), and McDonald's. - Nishi-Oi station is within walking distance, just one stop away from Shinagawa on the Yamanote line. - They reply quickly to emails. The not-so-good things: - It's a bit crowded for three people, especially when you pull out the lower bunk bed, there’s no space to walk. - The shower water was only lukewarm although I have set it to the highest temperature, not warm enough for winter. - Noise travels easily between units because they're only separated by partitions, not concrete. - The unit we stayed in is on the 1st floor, the staircase is narrow, you have to be careful manoeuvring big luggages. - The unit doesn’t have a clothes dryer, so you have to air-dry your clothes. However, to hang your clothes, you need to move the bunkbed away from the wall. This is a not an easy feat moving the bed because it’s heavy. On top of that, once the bunkbed is moved, the lower bunkbed can't be pulled out due to space constraints. There are extra charges for early check-in/late check-out, and they have a long list of house rules you need to follow. Despite that, we had some noise issues during our stay.

Good place, close to the train station

(Translated by Google) My first hotel upon arriving in Japan, the apartment is well equipped, it's clean. I received help from an employee who was very kind. Booked via Booking, the manager is responsive on this messaging service. The hotel has no reception staff (check-in and check-out to be done independently), but they are responsive by phone and messaging if you have any questions or needs.
