Bakery
Une Gaufrette Saperlipopette is a delightful bakery in Liege that offers traditional Liege waffles made with local ingredients. These waffles are known for their doughier texture and are filled with cinnamon and chunky caramelized sugar chunks, making them the perfect comfort food on a rainy day in Belgium. The bakery also offers other delicious treats such as croissants, Cannelles de Bordeaux, and speculoos.
Favorite Liege waffle during my visit to Lieige. I got the vanilla and it was warmed up for me. I loved our crispy and caramelized the sugar was. A small amount of outdoor seating was available. The staff spoke English and was nice/friendly with us. She also gave us a sample of brioche to try too. There are a lot of pastry options, which we didn't try but definitely recommend the vanilla Liege waffle. Note that they tend to sell out. When we visited the first time around 5 pm, they were sold out of Liege waffles. We came at around 9 am on the second visit and they were fully stocked.
Vivian A — Google review
Cute little bakery offering ice cream and a small selection of desserts. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We visited in the late afternoon and unfortunately couldn't find any waffles left. We tried the ice cream instead—it was fine, though not remarkable. The chocolate flavor wasn’t dark enough for my taste, and while the mint-strawberry combination sounded exciting, it didn’t quite live up to the expectation. The white bread was decent. A sweet spot overall, but nothing too memorable.
Nida Ö — Google review
It’s for sure a must go if you’re in Liege. There’s always a line there and it seems like all tourists also visit this place Bakery is extremely fresh and delicious, we were also offered for free some cookies which was extremely sweet. Coffee is good as well, we loved this place!
Dasha B — Google review
No wonder this is the "go-to" place for a waffle in Liége. Big line but surprisingly speedy service, incredible taste and great attitude from the staff. Offering some free samples was definitely what set it apart though, lovely gesture from a 10/10 bakery!!
Dimitrios K — Google review
It is a really nice place where to buy your breakfast or snack. You can see how much the employees care about the place just looking at how clean it is. Besides the service is amazing. When we arrived they offered us some extra fresh snack for free. Their coffee and croissants are really good and the price is also good for that amazing quality. They take care of every detail and that's what makes this place unique.

Very tasty and localnplace. I tried waffle and cookie. I like that and had ciffee also good. Stuff are very friendly to talk english. I bought a bread. And i will try this too.
Ben E — Google review
The shop has been recommended as one of the best shops to get Liege waffles and it's true. On the same street they have three little shops, one for the waffles and opposite you'll find one selling little cookies and biscuits. A bit further down they selling fries. I haven't tried the fries yet, but the waffles were heavenly. Chewy and buttery, it's a must to try. But even the biscuits did not disappoint. I am usually a bit wary of buying cookies, because I am not a fan of too sugary sweets, but those cookies were also made of good ingredients and lots of butter. I bought some for my friends too. There is always a bit of a queue, but the staff will come out with fresh cookies to try, which is a bonus point.
Baliana — Google review
Had the Liège waffle 🧇 which was warmed up. Not overly sweet, sticky caramel on the outside, warm and soft texture inside. Got coffee and a small chocolate loaf 🍞 yums! Oh and they gave us a lil’pastry treat which was good

Chophouse restaurant
Butcher shop deli
Nestled in the back of a butcher shop, Maison Leblanc offers a unique dining experience that may not scream romance at first glance, but it certainly delivers on flavor. This culinary gem specializes in an impressive selection of meats from around the globe, including Wagyu and Argentinian beef, paired with exquisite wines and delightful desserts. While meat lovers will be in heaven here, vegetarians are also catered for with thoughtfully crafted dishes.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The concept is so unique—you enter through the boucherie, and behind it is a cozy, hidden restaurant. Ivan, our waiter, was incredibly attentive and made the visit even more enjoyable. The dry-aged meat was exceptional—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor—and the bone marrow was a delicious and indulgent addition. A truly memorable experience with outstanding food, service, and atmosphere!
Nadine R — Google review
My partner and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maison Leblanc, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at ease in the delightful atmosphere. The dishes we tried were beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and exuded freshness in every bite. The staff, including our outstanding waiter, were incredibly attentive, polite, and ensured all our needs were met with a smile. Their dedication to creating a memorable dining experience was truly commendable. This restaurant is undoubtedly a perfect choice for a special celebration or simply for an evening of indulgence. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire team for their impeccable service and look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended for anyone in the area—it’s a must-visit!
Joaquim L — Google review
We've visited this restaurant several times for their exceptional selection of meats! It's always a pleasure to dine here; the staff is incredibly friendly. Definitely not the spot for vegans, but an absolute must-visit for meat lovers.
Thomas N — Google review
The meat was unquestionably delicious. A little bit pricey but you have a fine dining experience. I give 4 because the stuff were “too attentive” to an extent I can’t enjoy my food anymore
Omnia K — Google review
Best Beef Tartare ever, second only to what my Ma prepared for my Pa in the 70s/80s (raw eggs at the time were yet no issue)! I gave 5 stars for Atmosphere, also because of its ‚no prisoners‘ attitude towards fit-form-function (almost Bauhaus style) appearance dedicated to a Boucherie presenting „it’s meat“ uniquely - Need for meat !!!
Kurtarno — Google review
Excellent meat restaurant, hidden behind a butcher shop (where else). Amazing carpaccio and chops of choice. Smooth service, fast. Expensive, but worthwhile. Don't forget to make a reservation.
Sander H — Google review
Loved it. Service was excellent. Food was beautiful. An amuse Bouche was served however neither my wife or myself caught the description. Our best guess was mushroom soup along with mozzarella and cherry tomatoe. My wife declared her os a moelle the best thing she has ever eaten. I started with the foie gras terrine which was delicious. I followed that with a wagyu steak. It was perfectly cooked and succulent as expected. My wife had steak tartar which was elegantly cut lean beef, presumably bleu blanc belge. These mains were accompanied by proper Belgian chips cut in house and cooked in beef dripping and a lovely fresh mayonnaise. To end our night we had the curtius sorbet, inspired by a local beer, and a dame Blanche. I understand the deserts were not made in house but the ice cream was quite delicious. At the end of the day the food is not the most complicated, however the care with which it was prepared made for a very special evening.
Eoin K — Google review
Hidden behind the butcher you'll find this excellent little steak house. They have a one sheet food menu and a large book of wines. This is a good thing! French only, but even with entry level french knowledge you should be able recognise your bavettes and entrecotes in several sizes and levels of quality easily. Ofcourse I was unlucky and chose an unavailable wine but an very nice alternative was quickly advised. We did our best in french and the courteous staff did their best in english and together it was all very pleasant. We were told the chicken of was off the menu, which I must say... who cares? But thanks for the info. We came for the beef. All steaks are served with a royal helping of fries and a very tasty sweet and sour vegetable salad. The steak itself was indeed very good. I usually like my steak lean but knowing from a previous visit that this place really knows it steaks I went for the entrecote, it was fantastic. Grilled to perfection, no seasoning or sauces, very tender and very tasty. 350 grams of excellence. Then desert, which we had to Google as one of the items was simply called 'Colonel'. Great refreshing finisher to the heavy meal we just consumed. Citrus icecream, lime and a very generous helping of vodka. Just one thing, if you decide to visit and don't like winding little stairs be aware that a trip to the bathroom might be a bit challenging. p.s. it seems the downstairs cow has escaped as the little green grass area with skylight is now empty. I'm sure we had nothing to do with this :D

Pub
Restaurant
Brasserie
Café Lequet, located near the River Meuse, is a popular old-school pub known for serving the best meatballs in Liege. The hearty dish consists of two meatballs made from a mix of pork and beef, smothered in a thick dark rabbit sauce made mainly from apples, pears, onions, and vinegar. Despite its delicious food, the café has gained a reputation for not being very accommodating to non-French speakers.
Perfect food and atmosphere and very nice staff. We went with two small kids and were served super quickly which is always great!
Marianna B — Google review
Cappuccino was very good. Had only one vegetarian option with cheese. Since I’m not a big fan of cheese, I asked the waitress if I can get only fries, she said yes. After a while she came back and said I must order a dish and only then I’ll get fries - seemed to me a bit strange but I ordered the dish with cheese balls and fries. The cheese balls were okay but the fries had a strong oily smell and taste probably not suitable for my taste buds. I’d probably only go there for coffee but not for food
Pawan K — Google review
Best “Boulet Liégeois” in town! Hands down the best boulet sauce Liégeois in town! I’ve often tried to perfect typical Belgian recipes such as “vol-au-vent”, “carbonnades flamandes”, “American“… and also the boulet Liégeois but have never been able to match or perfect their recipe! The meat is cooked to perfection, the sauce is divine, the fries match well with the dish as they don’t become soggy in the sauce… The atmosphere is typical, the service is friendly and efficient. It’s not somewhere I would go to every day but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic experience!
Henri R — Google review
Café Lequet is a lively and popular spot, especially on weekends when it’s packed with regulars and new visitors alike. The constant flow of customers means tables turn over quickly; a good sign that the food is always fresh. The service is fast, polite, and efficient, though the high pace can sometimes affect quality. In my dish, roasted marrow bones, one piece was undercooked and still pink inside. Despite this, the overall vibe, tasty food, and energy of the place make it well worth a visit. Just be prepared for a busy atmosphere and the occasional slip in consistency.
Arash S — Google review
A cozy restaurant with good food, although our hostess was not so nice. We asked her if we can choose an other table, because the one she gave us was close the door and we were a group of 4. She refused and said she preferred to give it to a group of 5 people, and we were wondering the difference between a group of 4 and a group of 5. The service was so slow as well, we thought she was tired since she was the only one serving everybody that was there...
Y B — Google review
Great atmosphere, very kind people and quick service. On sundays they are busy but manage like pros. Combine it with the Sunday Market at 'la batte' and eat some 'boulette liégeoise' with artisan fries and a fresh Jupiler, you won't be disappointed...
Sven W — Google review
Authentic place , the people are friendly and food is really good I was really surprised by the fries and the croquette actually which were really good even compared to a Friterie , the meatballs and the tete de veau were special too

Get Your Mug has become a true institution in Liege over the past nine years, with three locations to choose from. Whether you're craving pancakes, French toast, bagels, banana bread, or buns, this place has got you covered. The extensive drink menu offers over fifty options including juices, smoothies and coffees. You can also enjoy fresh fruit juices and smoothies in a relaxed atmosphere. Don't miss out on their delicious cupcakes and cookies!
We really enjoyed our experience here. The staff were friendly and we received our items in a respectable time. The breakfast items we got were delish! I'm not a pancake fan personally (which asks why I ordered them, right?), but I cannot rave about them more. I barely touched the syrup as the fruit was more than enough to top them. Yum! The bagel was also great - but besides sharing one bite, I wasn't giving up my pancakes, lol. The interior is nicely done and there was a good amount of seating for customers. Besides regular dining table and chairs, there are some lounge chairs and coffee tables for a more leisure experience if wanted.

The staff were so friendly, I was pleasantly surprised!! The food was very good, the portions were also great. I would recommend! 🤗

Hot chocolate is pretty good, the cookie was so sweet I worried getting instant diabetes. The service is nice and quick, however the pictures on the wall look like from a nightmare of the book "1984" by George Orwell.
Jens-Jakob G — Google review
It seems this place doesn’t know how to make hot chocolate. Half of my glass was whipped cream with the hot chocolate underneath tasting of bitter powder, it was as if someone poured the milk and didn’t mix in the powder because it was all on the bottom of the glass and around the edges. By then it had also cooled down too much for me to mix it in myself. My partner said the Americano was quite tasty though and so was the cookie.
Alina C — Google review
With no regards maybe the best coffee shop in town! The place itself offers a comfy and cozy atmosphere, and utilities such as power plugs and Wi-Fi. The staff is just AMAZING, Kind, polite and ready to assist you. Last but not least, you can have quality food, including a wide range of beverages, bagels, pancakes 🥞 and much more! I simply loved my pancakes with syrup and fruits. Can’t wait to come back.
Giovanni R — Google review
Great coffee, delicious sweet and salty snacks and meals, very friendly staff, come in and have a lovely break!
Andrea G — Google review
We visited Get your mug for breakfast and it was a very good choice; the belgian bagle with avocado and egg was much tastier than I first imagined :) The staff was very nice and the service quite quick.
Anca T — Google review
Long story short: not the best coffee in town and not the best customer service either. Good bagels. But be ready to wait for 40 minutes for them and the owner telling you that it’s okay to wait and everybody knows it. So if you respect your time and can’t wait for one coffee out of three for 20 minutes and 3 bagels for 40 minutes, visit another place. If you’re here for a chill long 3-hour hanging out and you don’t care about the speed - then come over. + food, friendly people (although they did ignore us when we were calling them, but I give the benefit of the doubt and assume it was unintentional), coffee on the house because we complained about the waiting time; - no respect for the customer’s time, not the best coffee.

Takeout Restaurant
C si bon is a restaurant that focuses on serving healthy and organic food. Twice a month, they offer a brunch buffet with a wide variety of sweet and savory dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The menu features colorful and delicious vegetable and fruit salads, as well as pastries and succulent charcuterie. The setting is splendid with high ceilings, bright and modern decor, and spacious tables. The warm welcome from the manager adds to the inviting atmosphere of the place.
(Translated by Google) !! Very warm welcome and place, healthy and fresh meal!! At C Si Bon! v2.0, you are welcomed with a big smile and warm words. The manager, Aurore, really has a sense of contact. This fits particularly well with the setting: a grandiose entrance (marble staircase), 4 meter high ceilings, and a room as bright as it is warm. The tables are spaced apart (to my delight, I hate being squeezed in), and the decor is resolutely young and modern. The order is taken quickly. The menu mainly offers sandwiches that can be made into wraps or salads, as well as fresh soup, a suggestion that is not a sandwich, and desserts that are also homemade. Also note, the establishment offers fresh juices! In short, an excellent lunch. We will come back. Two Sundays a week, C Si Bon offers an all-you-can-eat brunch. Not tested yet, but it won't be long! (Original) !! Le Pot au Lait is a unique hang-out spot housed in a 19th-century building, offering an eclectic experience for visitors. The interior is adorned with glow-in-the-dark skeleton murals, stuffed boar heads, and psychedelic patterns, creating a surreal atmosphere reminiscent of a Tim Burton creation on acid. This pub attracts an alternative crowd and is popular among Erasmus students due to its affordability and late-night hours.
We came here for a reason, as it's a fun bar to hang out it. The style is Tim Burton, very funky. Fun to just wander around the various rooms. We came for some drinks in the afternoon, good prices. Definitely recommend for a unique place to stop.

A really hopping place, large inside and out (couldn't believe how many people were sitting outside in the courtyard in 3 degree weather). Fantastical decor, mixed crowd. Highly recommend for a fun drink.

If you are into weird unique decors and colorful lighting, this is the place. One of the unique fun bars I ever been to. It's a huge location with mostly outdoor seating with self service ordering of drinks from their extensive menu. It's trippy, it's vibrant and fun to be just there sipping your drink and lost on surroundings.

The music was so good as well.. if you’re ever in Liège, do yourself a favor and visit this bar! It’s such a cool experience

Le Pot au Lait in Liège feels like stepping into a bohemian jungle of murals, mismatched chairs, and easy laughter. Hidden just off the busy Carré, it’s a place where time slows and creativity hums — students sketch, friends debate music, someone reads with a beer in hand. The décor is delightfully chaotic, the atmosphere sincere, and the spirit pure Liège: open, artistic, and unpretentious.

Carrefour Market in Liege, Belgium is a one-stop shop for high-quality and affordable products. They offer a diverse range of items including fresh produce, organic meats, dairy products, pantry staples like grains and canned goods. The store's friendly staff and convenient location add to the pleasant shopping experience. While it may lack self-scan options and have limited parking space due to its popularity, the overall service is highly satisfactory. Additionally, customers can find good quality wines at competitive prices here.

I like these guys :) conveniently located Carrefours, friendly staff,... I love the small hints we notice around of their GB heritage like a GB branded jacket hanging over a chair - quite a pleasant nostalgia trip ^^ the downside of these oldschool vibes is that there are no selfscan options, making one miss out on potential promo's. But hey, you win some you lose some :) the parking is at time too small for its success, bit given its location there's not much they can do about it. Also, it's one of the brave few Carrefours that still offers the full -50% on about to expire perishables, encouraging a decrease in food waste. Hats off to that :-) Long story short: fun and personal Carrefour near you.

(Translated by Google) 🛑 Disappointed, I won't be going back!!! I tried two sandwiches: a meatball sandwich and a ham and cheese with crudités sandwich. Honestly, for the price, it's really exaggerated... it's around 5 euros +/- for the sandwich! The meatball sandwich was dry and sparsely garnished. The ham and cheese sandwich had a few slices of tomato, a little arugula, a slice of cheese, and that's it. (Carrot, ... no.) It's a far cry from a truly well-garnished sandwich. And to top it all off, the atmosphere there was cold, not at all welcoming. Honestly, it made me laugh... but only half-heartedly. Once, not twice.

(Translated by Google) Disappointed by the manager's attitude. The starter (cherry tomatoes) was good, but at €13, the price seemed clearly disproportionate to what was served. We calmly pointed this out to the waitress, in a completely respectful manner. When it came time to pay, the manager greeted us in a curt and defensive manner, detailing the price of her ingredients without really listening. She even said, "I'm not here to criticize your work," without knowing who we are or what we do. It's a shame, because we really like supporting small restaurants. But when a customer takes the time to provide honest and courteous feedback, a minimum of open-mindedness and respect is essential. A first and last time for us.

(Translated by Google) Lunch for two at this small bistro. The menu is very limited (1 starter, 1 main course, or 1 sandwich), but why not? Starter: Tomatoes, cherries, and raspberry vinegar. 13 euros. When the main course arrives, it consists of 1 1/2 tomatoes, 6 cherries, and raspberry vinegar. It's good. When they clear the table and ask the famous question, "Did you like it?" I point out to the waitress that the starter might be a bit too expensive. She reacts well and, with a smile, passes my message on to the kitchen. Things got worse when, as I was about to pay, the owner attacked me, trying to justify her price by referring to the quality of her salt, the quality of her high-end vinegar, the cost of electricity, etc. It escalated into saying, "You don't know anything about the life of a freelancer" (I'm self-employed, sic), and ending with, "I'm not coming to your place to criticize your cooking." In short, it's a shame. If you work with high-end products, you should state this on your menu; it could better justify the price charged from the start. Negative feedback is never easy to receive; it can only help you do better, or even kindly explain the reasons for things. Only 3% of people dare to give negative feedback; the other 97% leave and never come back. We won't go there again, not because of the food, not because of the waitressing, but because of the owner's disrespect.
