Lake
Lake Waco, an artificial reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serves as a vital resource for flood control and water conservation in the Waco area. The lake offers various recreational activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, and hunting. Its scenic parks along the shoreline provide opportunities for sunbathing, picnicking, and paddling.
I have to say this is our family go to place on this Texas heat! We did not mind the drive. We love the feeling of the sand but it does get hot 🥵 beside that my fur babies and kids love this lake! We might even move to this area. Down side is people cannot clean after themselves especially at the bbq area.. smh. Someone always had to ruin this beautiful lake for everyone else. Some people don’t common courtesy.

It's close, about the only good I can say. none of the ramps are that great either unprotected from wind and waves or way too flat and shallow. The water is muddy and smells. The fishing is ok, but surrounding lakes are much better.

Nice lake, good size, there are several corps of engineers campgrounds on this lake. I recommend Speegleville park or Airport park campgrounds to get a campsite near the waters edge.

Lake Waco, fed primarily by the Bosque River and numerous smaller tributaries offers many recreational activities. There are a number of parks that provide plenty of public access. Waco Dam, completed in 1965 served to control flooding in the local area by impounding the water.

Had a great time. Boaters were very courteous to us since we were on kayaks.

Nestled in the heart of Waco, Crystal Clear Pools & Spas is a family-owned gem that has been crafting stunning custom gunite swimming pools for nearly two decades. With 18 years of experience under their belt, they have transformed countless backyards into personal paradises. Customers rave about their exceptional service and craftsmanship, often highlighting how their new pool—and even fire pits—have turned outdoor spaces into true oases of relaxation and enjoyment.
Crystal clear pools did an amazing job on our pool. We had it built in the fall of 2023 and it only took them a little over a month to complete. We built a salt water pool and have really enjoyed it every day. Even in the off season when we have company over they really like the environment around the pool that the waterfall brings. Crystal clear pools was so helpful in designing our pool for us and even tied in a fire pit that matched our home. Their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. There was no pressure to build with them even after the free estimate. They left no trash behind and they make sure the site is clean and to your liking before they leave. If you are looking for a great pool designer and family friendly business I highly recommend using Crystal clear pools. You won’t regret it!!

We had a pool installed in June 2023. I waited some time to complete this review so I could offer some longer term feedback. I liked that this company is family owned and operated by local folks who have been doing this a long time. We felt good that they were knowledgeable, experienced and attentive to our desires with local ties to the community. In the end we do love our pool, however it is not without some lessons learned. I had a lot of pre-construction anxiety because my sentiment is that I'm spending the equivalent of a high end luxury automobile but I don't have the option to sell it or trade it in if I get a lemon. We changed our plan several times during the design. Unfortunately, the design we ended up with changed on dig day because Adam said we could not build what was designed with a step down to the pool deck, even though he had been out to see the site elevations early in the process. We ended up with a geometric (rectangular) pool and really like that Adam was willing to custom dig any option we could imagine (benches, seats, tanning ledge, etc.). We had +/-2300 SF of decking and sidewalks installed and the crew did a good job. Be aware that the contract is an estimate. You will not necessarily pay for concrete area by the SF on plans. I was charged for the concrete volume delivered (cubic yards / 81 x cost PSF). This is not necessarily wrong but can, and did, result in a substantial increase in actual cost vs estimated cost because the concrete was thicker in some areas. We opted for a saltwater pool due to the expense of chlorine tablets and couldn't be happier about that decision. (Keep your salt cell clean!) Adam was mostly patient with me during the building process as I am a particular person when it comes to details. For example, my contract specs said rebar 5" OC (on center) but the field installation was 5" one direction and 10" the other. 5" OC means 5" in both directions Adam and Adam Jr. gave us a brief pool 101 after the pool was complete. Now the reason for 4 stars. My pool is SIGNIFICANTLY out of level. When one skimmer basket is half full, the other is barely under water. I'm estimating at least 1.5" difference from side to side across 17 feet. When I contacted them about it, they said there was nothing they could do about a pool that settled. In my opinion, with 2300SF of concrete decking tied into an existing 500SF patio, if a pool has settled approximately 1.5", I would expect to see major cracks and/or buckles in the pool or decking. Thankfully, no such issue has been seen. I believe Adam set the skimmers too low or they settled before the gunite was applied and the gunite contractor sprayed the grade beam to the appropriate cover. I watched the gunite process but assumed that the laser level they used was telling them the truth. I should have used a bubble level after they finished. So, I got a partial lemon with no possible resolution. In fairness, Crystal Clear offered to look into having an auto water filler installed to help regulate pool water levels but they have drawbacks and limitations as well. Neither I nor Crystal Clear followed up on the auto filler since it does not solve the problem, only only addresses managing water level.

Outstanding Experience with Crystal Clear Pools! We had the pleasure of working with Crystal Clear Pools this summer to build our new pool, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. Their team was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process—offering expert advice on placement and design that truly enhanced our outdoor space. What stood out most was their transparency and communication. They thoroughly explained each step of the build, making sure we understood what was happening and why. Since completion, their support has continued to impress us. They've encouraged us to reach out anytime with questions or concerns, and they've been just as responsive and helpful post-build as they were during construction. We couldn’t be happier with the final result and the service we received. If you're considering a pool project, I highly recommend Crystal Clear Pools. They deliver quality, professionalism, and genuine care for their customers. Thank you again to the entire team! —Stan Wilfong

We had the best experience using Crystal Clear Pools. They were recommended to us by a coworker who was very happy with his experience and they held up to that standard for us as well. We started construction in July and our kids were swimming first weekend in September. Very professional and down to earth people and we are able to call if we have any questions with maintaining our pool. Will always recommend as our pool company of choice!

We met with many local pool companies before we decided to move forward with Crystal Clear Pools. Lindsey and Adam were very easy to work with and professional. The entire process was very smooth and timely. They stayed true to the timeline which we appreciated. We love our new pool and can't wait to use it this summer!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding Experience with Crystal Clear Pools! From start to finish, working with Crystal Clear Pools was an absolute pleasure. The customer service was nothing short of exceptional—friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. I always felt informed and supported every step of the way. What really impressed me was how quick the entire process was. They didn’t waste any time, and yet the quality of work was top-notch. It’s rare to see a company that can move fast without cutting corners, but Crystal Clear Pools nailed it. Communication was another major highlight. I was never left wondering what the next step was or who to contact. Whether it was scheduling, updates, or follow-up questions after the job was done, their team was always just a call or message away. Even after the project was completed, they continued to check in and offer support, which really speaks to their commitment to customer satisfaction. If you’re looking for a company that’s professional, efficient, and truly cares about their clients, I can’t recommend Crystal Clear Pools highly enough!

We built a pool with Lindsay and Adam last summer 2024. I cannot begin to express what an amazing experience we had. We love our pool and have been so thankful for it with the Texas heat! After the build, I have appreciated Lindsay and Adam with all the help they have provided me all year with questions that come up that I have. They are extremely responsive and have gotten back with me if I have a quick question. Something I really appreciated with having guests over and needing help asap. In addition, they don’t stop contact after the build is done. They build relationships and truly care about their customers. They will be there to help with whatever needed. If you’re out there looking for a pool to build, go with Crystal Clear Pools and Spas! They have been beyond fabulous to work with. Molly

We had a wonderful experience working with Premier Pools and Spas! James and his team are incredibly knowledgable, responsive, and transparent. I can't recommend them enough and would 100% work with them again. We contacted James and his team at Premier Pools and Spas about a year ago. We were doing several renovations to our property and wanted to make sure preparation for a pool was factored into the overall plans. James met with our general contractor and electrician to make sure everything would be ready when it when we eventually got to the pool. During the design phase, James met with us several times to review all of our options. He was very knowledgeable about the construction, equipment, finishings, etc. During this phase we never felt pressured into upgrading to something we either didn't want or couldn't afford. He helped us land on a design that fit out budget while still making sure we kept the features that were important to us. They were even able to install turf around the pool instead of concrete. Something that we initially hadn't considered but absolutely love! When we moved into the construction phase, James and his team provided a full timeline of activities with dates. Their communication was amazing. They made sure we were clear on each step of the process and expected time. James was at the site every day to make sure work was progressing as expected and no issues arose. We were very impressed with how clean the job site was kept and how quickly the construction was completed. Even though the pool is now complete, James and his team have still been available to answer any questions we have. He has come back to our house to explain the pool equipment set up to us and how to clean the filter. He has also been available to answer questions about pool chemicals and maintenance. We couldn't be happier with our pool or our entire experience with Premier Pools and Spas. I highly recommend them if you are considering a pool and would 100% use them again.

James and Brittney worked through the planning and construction to design and build a pool that met our expectations. Having built multiple pools knew what we wanted and asked for their input to make it the best outcome. We were challenged with city inspection delays but that doesn’t impact the quality of the build and follow through to ensure we were satisfied.
Geoffrey C — Google review
James and Brittany are phenomenal. Our pool turned out so beautiful and they finished quickly. James will take you to pools they have completed so you can talk to the customer and see the pool. Brittany is great with design and color combinations. After getting quotes from six other companies we decided to go with Premier Pools and we are so happy we did. They are super personable, and great keeping you updated along the way.
Carlee W — Google review
We just completed our pool with Premier Pools and couldn’t be happier. James and Brittany were amazing to work with. We started at the showroom with a digital image of what our pool would look like, as well as being able to view and pick out materials. It was a smooth process every step of the way and communication was excellent. James and Brittany were at the job site for each step of the build. The crew of each phase were all very professional and polite. We had a schedule to follow so we knew when the next phase would take place. The completed project was a little later than originally scheduled, but that was only due to rain and inclement weather. Overall, we are extremely happy with the way it turned out.
Stephanie H — Google review
Premier Pools in Waco is top-notch! James and his All-Star team did an outstanding job from start to finish. Despite some hiccups with city fencing requirements, they stayed on top of everything and delivered a beautiful finished pool. Professional, reliable, and truly excellent work—highly recommend!

I cannot tell everyone who is willing to listen how wonderful the pool process is with Premier Pools and Spas Waco. James and Brittany are honest, communicate, and work hard to make your pool dreams come true.

Waco Mammoth National Monument is a significant paleontological site that showcases the in-situ fossils of a herd of Ice Age mammoths and other animals. This national monument, established in 2009 and covering 100 acres, offers guided tours through wooded parkland along the Brazos River to the dig shelter. Visitors can experience the terrain and life during the Ice Age while learning about the discovery of these fossils.
My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way down to Galveston and had a really great time. It only cost a few dollars to get in and we got to take the guided tour and learn all about how these mammoths and other fossils were discovered in this area. We headed to the gift shop and purchased the usual souvenirs (shot glass, magnet) as well as some matching T-shirts and some super cool minerals! Then after that, we hiked on one of the trails and the Rangers weren’t even mad when we came back late because we got lost. 😆 it was a great time, we would recommend for both kids and adult adults alike!
Gina M — Google review
Waco Mammoth National Monument was a really cool and unexpected find. It’s not every day you get to see actual mammoth fossils still in the ground where they were discovered! The covered dig site is the highlight—climate-controlled and well laid out, with elevated walkways so you get a great view of the fossils without disturbing anything. We took the guided tour, which I highly recommend. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the history feel very alive, explaining how the mammoths likely ended up there and what makes the site so special. There's also a short nature trail and a small visitor center with some interesting displays and a gift shop. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price. For a National Park Service site, it felt a little pricey, especially since the visit is on the shorter side—maybe an hour to 90 minutes total unless you linger. Still, it's a unique and educational stop that’s well worth it if you're in the Waco area. Great for families, history buffs, or anyone who just thinks mammoths are awesome (because they are!).
Jeffery R — Google review
We stopped in with only 45 minutes of time available and managed to get in the full tour. The tour guide (John Proctor) did an outstanding job- much better than I was expecting. He was informative while also being entertaining. I appreciated his passion. The walk to the dig site is paved and smooth, mildly hilly. The dig site itself is inside an air conditioned building and is comfortable. There are no restrooms except at the welcome center. They do have a national park passport stamp station and a reasonably priced gift shop. Parking is free and the tour is only $6 for adults. Absolutely worth the stop! No need to buy tickets in advance.
Belynda W — Google review
This was such a neat experience. Until I visited, I never knew some of the animals I discovered lived in Texas. Staff were extremely knowledgeable. The tour, itself, took about 30 minutes. There are other small trails in the area but we didn't get to experience them because it had just rained, so in total, we spent about an hour there. Tours run about every 30 minutes to this active (covered and with ac) dig and preservation site. The best part is that because it's an active site, when you go, it might look a little different than when I went. You learn a little bit about what paleontologists believe happened to the creatures buried for thousands of years and how those thoughts have changed over the years. Places like this are why having national parks and monuments are so important and should be supported, not dismantled.
Tammy M — Google review
Super cool spot in Waco! The mammoth fossils are still in the ground, which makes it way more interesting than just looking at bones in a museum. The place isn’t huge, but the tour guides keep it fun and you actually learn a lot. Trails are easy, kid-friendly, and the whole site feels peaceful. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Waco.
Jenny N — Google review
This place is very cool and one of a kind experience. You don't ever get to see an active dig site, so this was a very unique experience. The walk down is pleasent, the tour guides are very engaging, and the cost is very low to get in.
Shannon W — Google review
$6 for the tour. Really nice park. The female park ranger who gave the tour was amazing and I loved her little jokes. I'd love to come back in a couple years and see what more they have discovered. I loved that this was an active dig site and they have a full-time paleontologist.
Ruby — Google review
It was a neat place to go. They have a guide talk to you about what they have found and they let you ask questions through out it. I just wait it was a little bit bigger. My kids loved it.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Cameron Park Zoo is a sprawling 52-acre zoo located within Cameron Park along the Brazos River. It is home to over 1,700 animals from 300 different species. The zoo offers various attractions for visitors, including a clear slide through the river otter habitat and a 50,000-gallon aquarium. Children can enjoy activities at Grammy Nells playground area and witness live animal presentations.
Visited this zoo on a spontaneous Friday afternoon trip from Austin and it was very quiet (only saw a few other visitors) which made for a more enjoyable experience! Arrived at 3:30 and the park closes at 5 but still had enough time to see everything! Although some exhibits are under construction like the gibbon lake right when you walk in. Clean, walkable, lots of shade and places to sit, if neeeded. It’s a well-designed zoo with a wide arrange of animals. I especially liked the indoor exhibit with all the snakes, as well as the giraffes and penguins.
Sarah E — Google review
My husband and I have went to Austin Zoo and San Antonio Zoo, and although those 2 are good, the Waco zoo is BEST. The staff is nice, the atmosphere is great, clean and family friendly especially for kids. We saw animals we have never seen, and the bathrooms were clean and smelled great. We will definitely come back!
Paola S — Google review
Not sure if it’s because it’s the dead of summer or if it’s because places like this aren’t frequented like they used to be but I was a little sad seeing all the animals hiding from the heat with little fresh water to be seen. Some of the enclosures were cleaner and well kept than others. With that being said the grounds are clean and the facilities are well kept. Staff seemed friendly but didn’t see many people working and staff was very minimal. The zoo is a decent size and is under renovation in many areas. Maybe when these are all done and things reopen it will be a better experience.
Wil T — Google review
Éxcellent zoo experience! The zoo is a great size, we strolled the exhibits for about 3 hours with plenty of time to stop and look. Not too busy either on a Friday afternoon. The animals looked well kept and moderately active, the staff was kind and not invasive at all, and the layout has plenty of restrooms and indoor stops to take a break from the heat if the day. You can pay at the gate ($18/person) and bring your own food and drinks. I really don't have anything bad to say at all. Will be back again!
Nicholas I — Google review
My primary reason for going to the Cameron Park Zoo was for the Penguin Encounter. It was super cute and our guide, Candice, was awesome. The zoo had some wonderful animals on display 😍 including a 49-year-old elephant in addition to a 31-year-old penguin. Plenty of places to sit & a small hiking trail. You could easily spend a couple hours at this gem.
Angela E — Google review
Cameron Park Zoo is such a great place to visit! Super easy to walk through with tons of amazing animals and a wide variety of exhibits. It’s really toddler-friendly — smooth paths, shaded areas, and plenty to keep little ones entertained. We spent about 2–3 hours walking at a faster pace, and it was the perfect size — not huge, but big enough to wear out my 1.5-year-old! Easily one of my favorite zoos we’ve visited across the country.
Caitlin M — Google review
The workers were super nice and very helpful! The only animals that weren’t there were the otters, or atleast they weren’t out at that time. All the animals look taken care of and healthy! The gift shop was kinda expensive considering the tickets were only $18. A magnet was $15..
Kaylie J — Google review
With so many free options available in the area I didn't consider going to the zoo. But we went, and I loved it. I had never seen bald eagles or owls up close. There was a building for nocturnal animals local to Texas, a large enclosure for South American animals with scarlet ibises in the trees, a large herpetarium with so many different reptiles including big, venemous ones, and much more. There was zoo staff around to answer questions, and we got to see the elephant's snack time. Overall, the animals throughout the zoo were highly visible. We spent about 3 hours and saw everything. It was shady and also a nice way to enjoy Cameron Park.

Families can take advantage of various options including the Waco Summer Splash Pass, offering great value for multiple visits.
Bought season passes for the grandkids. They were here in Waco with me for a week. I knew this would keep them busy and satisfied for most of the day. We went on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. They had a great time! On Friday, I used 6 of the 10 free buddy passes. Two came with each bought. I also paid for cooler pass and saved money by taking in drinks. Love you can take your own food in as well. Be sure to watch online for specials. I also received emails on specials going on. It was a great vacation for the kids and stay- cation for me! 😃

The kids loved it!! Did have an issue with 1 of the guys at the water slide telling kids to take off their life jackets. That's a good way to drown a kid. No. Just no. Also, only 1 of the showers worked in the women's restroom. The whole place kinda looked ran down. Big chunks of concrete/plaster (?) missing on the pools/lazy river.

I took my son to celebrate his 19th birthday since we missed Champions Day this year. He absolutely loves it here! We always have a wonderful time and it's usually never too crowded.. My only issue was that the waves in the wave pool were never turned on while we were there this time.. Not sure why.. But we still had a great time! I absolutely love that they have events for special needs individuals of all ages and abilities, and plenty of activities and areas of the park that are accessible to all! I really appreciate that! 🤩 I called ahead one year when Champions Day fell on my son's birthday, and we arrived to see that they had made him a beautiful birthday sign with his name on it! 🤩 🥰 That brought me to tears, it was the sweetest thing!! For this visit, I inquired about any discounts they might offer for Waco Transit employees, and while I was told that they do not, they let me know that I could use my Groupon (for 4 tickets) for a 2nd visit, since it was just the two of us.. We love Hawaiian Falls! 🤩 🥰 🤗

My family and I went to Hawiian Falls for the first time recently. We had three adults and a two year old with us. There are many places for the two year old to play. There is a wading pool that we started out in so he could get used to the water. The next pool to the left gets a little deeper and has a small slide. He went on that a few times and was ready to try the bigger slide. By the end of the day he had no fear! We all had a lot of fun. We went on the lazy river when we needed to rest. There is a place to buy food, but you can bring food in. We rented a locker. It was big enough for three people to put their belongings in. We paid to rent a tube, but I don't think we needed to. There are plenty of free tubes. The crowd size was not bad. We are looking forward to going back!

I had such a great experience at Hawaiian Falls in Waco! The park was very clean, and I was impressed with how attentive the staff was—especially when it came to safety and making sure kids followed the rules. I went with my sister and her three kids (ages 8–13), and they all had an absolute blast. The whirlpool was so fun—we’ve never seen anything like that at a water park before! In my opinion, it’s much nicer than Splash Kingdom. If I lived closer, I’d be a frequent flyer for sure. The only thing I’d change is having more double tubes available for the slides—but that’s a small thing compared to how great everything else was. Highly recommend!

We have The most expensive season pass for Hawaiian fall and we get this one each and every year. We have noticed the study decline of the quality of service and product compared to the prices. There are several restrooms that are constantly out of order. The showers are nonfunctional. There are only two showers actually work that have shower curtains. If you are wanting to shower after enjoying a day at the waterpark, you are only able to use two of the 4 showers. The restrooms are not clean. We frequent the other water parks, and they constantly have a staff member attending to the restrooms, ensuring that they are clean and sanitize at all times for the pain customers. We have come daily over the past week and a half, and every time we attend the large pool is closed because they say you were unable to see then you have lifeguard just sitting on their bottoms, not working limiting the access to the amenities that we pay for with these passes.. The problem before was that the way Poole was never working and currently the lifeguards will not stand up so that we can enjoy the waves. They rather sit, then stand up and allow us to enjoy the waves for the amount of money that we spend at this part and considering how hard it is to earn money these days and the cost of living steady rising that we choose to spend our money so that we can enjoy fun quality time with our families and then we encounter such poor quality of service. I hope that y’all will correct and rectify this problem.
Mackenzie L — Google review
This water park offers a variety of attractions! Very family friendly atmosphere! The attentive lifeguards is top notch! I do feel they should have something in place as many times as they have had the pool and lazy river closed down because they are short staffed! Especially if that’s what patrons are going there for!

Silos at Magnolia in downtown Waco is a popular destination for fans of Chip & Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper. The market features various attractions like Magnolia Table, Magnolia Press, Silos Baking Co., and more. Visitors can enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere with friendly staff, photo opportunities, beautiful grounds with seating and activities like corn hole and wiffleball.
Lovely, just lovely. I've been wanting to go for quite some time and finally got the chance. It's like a little town with everything from a bakery, to stores, to boutiques, coffee shop, open game area, a garden, a mini baseball field, food trucks, a chapel, tours, and who knows what else I missed. I loved just walking around. If you get lucky, you might find parking on the street but otherwise there's parking areas within a block or two from the entrances. Yes, there are multiple entrances to start your walk through.

🌻 Magnolia at the Silos is a delightful gem that blends good taste with great vibes. From the moment you arrive, the air is buzzing with warmth and charm. 🥗 The food and drinks are a standout—delicious coffee with rich, comforting notes, refreshing lemonade that’s just the right mix of tart and sweet, and treats that hit every craving from sweet to savory. Everything feels thoughtfully crafted like the strawberry cupcake! 🛍️ The shopping experience is equally satisfying: stylish home goods, unique finds, and gifts at prices that won’t make your wallet sweat. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 And the atmosphere? Perfectly family-friendly. Whether you’re chasing little ones on the lawn, grabbing a bite at the food trucks, or lounging under string lights, it’s a relaxing and welcoming place to linger. Definitely worth the trip from Dallas. Most of the shopping is outside - so be prepared for hot weather in the summer!

The silos in Waco with the restaurants the coffee shops the stores the church you name it. Everything is curated to perfection. I'm not a big fan of the industrial farmhouse look which is all magnolia is but it's still a gorgeous place. I can't imagine coming on the weekends with the crowds. If you come I would come during the week either a Tuesday or Wednesday. I can only imagine how horrendous the crowds are on the weekend.

Visiting the Magnolia Silos in Waco, Texas was a fantastic experience! The space is beautifully designed and offers a wide variety of things to see and do. From unique boutique-style shops to charming outdoor spaces, there's truly something for everyone. One of the highlights was the family-friendly atmosphere — there's even a basketball court that adds a fun, active touch for kids and adults alike. The grounds are clean, inviting, and perfect for spending a few leisurely hours. The coffee from Magnolia Press was excellent — rich, smooth, and worth the short walk to the separate building where it’s served. I also tried the lemon lavender cupcake, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly balanced with just the right amount of floral flavor. Overall, this is a must-visit destination if you're in the Waco area. Whether you're a fan of the Gaines' style or just looking for a great place to relax with family, the Silos won’t disappoint!
Danielle L — Google review
The Silos were cool and being able to walk around in a beautiful area, play soccer, corn hole, baseball and other activities were fun. Seeing the church that Chip and Joanna Gaines remodeled was really neat. I could do without all the shops though. Not really anything to see or anything I would want to buy in them. That part was boring.
Rainbow K — Google review
Came out here for a car issue and looked up things to do. I am a fan of the atmosphere during the day. Being that it is Wednesday and early afternoon it was not very busy. The weekend vibe maybe totally different. Loads of quaint shops to visit and purchase.

Absolutely beautiful! Everything was perfectly curated. If you know exactly what you want within the stores then it can be a quick 2 hour trip but I recommend spending 4 or more hours to fully enjoy the experience.

The horseback riding service at Brazos Bluffs Ranch, LLC is a great way to enjoy the scenic trails and wild animals on the property. Both experienced and inexperienced riders can take part in the rides, which are easy to follow with minimal guidance from the tour guide. They also offer sunset rides with personal touches like ice cream floats to watch the sunset.
Great day for a ride! Very enjoyable horseback ride and 90 minutes is great but you'll wish it was longer. Definitely going to encourage some friends to come out and enjoy. Starts out in field, then down a path into the forest, down some hills, up some hills to a beautiful view over the Brazos. I had a nice tall horse named Chief he was calm and had a much quicker pace than the one in front so had to make him walk a slower pace. I encourage a ride out here, it is a good time and the guides/ranchers will instruct you on what to do and the horses know what they are doing. Nice people and nice horses. Maybe I'll see you out there when I am back. Have fun!

Highly recommend Brazos Ranch if you want to do any horse riding. We had such a wonderful time from start to finish. Maddie and Ruthie were very friendly and gave us a very warm welcome along with very clear instructions for riding. The horses were all very quiet and comfortable to ride along with feeling very safe the whole time. Beautiful trail with amazing views. Would definitely come back again the next time I am in Waco!

Absolutely loved riding here, and LOVED my horse, Lil Joe. He was a hoot! The most beautiful sunset, and we had the best wranglers in Texas showing us around. I very much appreciate their kindness, and I enjoyed my very first Dr Pepper float. Ruthie, Will, and Lemuel were the BEST!
Alicia N — Google review
Such a relaxing experience—90 minutes of nature, sun & much needed peace. Definitely will return for the Sunset option. All of the horses are very well cared for—beautiful coats & strong bodies. You can tell the owners aren’t just out to make money, but want to preserve their land & the animals. I had the pleasure of riding Chief. He was a big boy (over 16 hands, easy), stubborn but sweet at the same time. The trail/grounds were beautiful. Check in is simple with a small waiver. Instructors are thorough and friendly. Have the option to wear a helmet. The leads take photos as you ride. There’s a small merch shop on the grounds with hats, tees and other trinkets as well soft drinks and water.

what a great experience! our tour guides, Ruthie and Maddie, were amazing in prepping you for the ride and then helping guide you on the path along the way. they made us feel so comfortable on the horses. it is beautiful ranch—the sights, horses, land, and people. if you are in the Waco area i highly recommend checking out the Brazos Bluffs Ranch!

This was so much fun! We took our three grandchildren on a ride and they loved it! The guides, Mattie and Savanah, were exceptional! The scenery is absolutely beautiful as were the horses. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We are now looking at doing a sunset ride!

My Hips Still Hurt, But My Heart Is Healed — A Brazos Bluff Ranch Sunset Review If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to straddle a noble steed, gaze upon God’s favorite stretch of real estate, and experience both enlightenment and early-onset saddle sores in a single evening—then giddy-on-up to Brazos Bluff Ranch in Waco, Texas. I signed up for their 2.5-hour sunset ride, and let me tell you, partner, it delivered more drama, joy, and unexpected hip flexor engagement than a full season of Yellowstone. The moment my boots hit the stirrups, my rear end whispered, “We’re not built for this.” And after trotting those inclines, declines, pastures, and forest trails, my ass now walks like it’s narrating a Ken Burns documentary. But honey, it was worth every lopsided step. ⸻ 🌄 The Ride The first hour warms you up—both spiritually and in the inner-thighs-you-forgot-existed. You’ll trot through fields, duck under forest trees like you’re on the run from the law, and climb hills that make you question your life insurance situation. My horse handled it like a seasoned trail philosopher; meanwhile, I clung on like a barnacle with anxiety. ⸻ 🌅 The Bluff (AKA: Where Heaven Clocked In) Just when your tailbone is preparing its resignation letter, you emerge atop a bluff 25 feet above a winding river, looking out over the Texas countryside as the sky explodes into sherbet glory. That sunset didn’t just glow—it seduced. I’m talking “sun making passionate, slow-motion love to your eyeballs” levels of beauty. I briefly believed the reckoning had arrived, and I was totally fine with it. ⸻ 🥤 Dr Pepper Floats & Adirondack Salvation As if the view didn’t already slap me into bliss, the staff served Dr Pepper ice cream floats while we lounged in Adirondack chairs. I have never felt so Texan, so at peace, or so unwilling to move my lower half again. I was paralyzed by glory, dairy, and awe. For 30 whole minutes, nothing existed but that sky, that river, and my float. ⸻ 🤠 The Wranglers Top-tier humans. Friendly, funny, safety-minded, and skilled at pretending my horse and I both knew what we were doing. ⸻ ✅ VERDICT Would I return? Absolutely. I would crawl back if I had to. Was it worth temporarily walking like I auditioned for a spaghetti western? Also yes. Final Summary: Brazos Bluff Ranch will bruise your booty, steal your breath, and baptize your eyeballs in sunset glory. Go. Ride. Float. Repeat.

If you're looking for a refreshing swim in Waco, the Greater Waco YMCA offers a delightful experience with its temperature-regulated pool. For just $25 per person, you can enjoy swimming from 4 PM to 10 PM, making it an ideal evening activity. While the price may be on the higher side compared to other options in town, you'll appreciate the more tranquil atmosphere without large crowds.
We love the Y! Both my girls do gymnastics here and there has not been a single coach that isn’t FANTASTIC! We have also put them in swim here and again the coaches are outstanding!
Madalyn M — Google review
I only go to the Y for the gym and it is a solid gym. They have a great variety of equipment and staff is also very nice. There are some Cons. There is not enough benches by the dumbbell rack, especially during peak hour. If it is past 3, you will be waiting 5-10 for a bench. It doesn’t make it any better that there are people that take up the benches only to do standing dumbbell curls and are only using the benches to put their belongings on. That’s my only con really. It is a great gym, but during peak hours is tends to be way too over crowded and it is hard to get a workout in especially if you are on a time crunch.

This place scams for money. I signed my daughter up for female 5th to 6th grade soccer. We arrived first day of practice, she is the only 6th grade female, 1 6th grade male, and the rest of the team is 3rd graders (and not a whole team) Both I and the mother of the other 6th grader were not happy. Our kids have to lower their playing ability to make sure 3rd graders half their size are not hurt. The male 6th grader shot for the goal while practicing and hit my daughter hard in the chest, he asked if she was ok and all is good. You could hear how hard it hit her. But if that boy did the same kick and a little 3rd grader was there that would have busted them right in the face! Making older and younger feel bad. No one told us this is what they would do or we wouldn't have joined. Today was their first game. 3 ppl from the other team showed up, no coach and after the game was supposed to start, so they want to take our team player and give it to the other team. So now we don't have a full team and neither does the other side. They make 6th graders play on a kid field made for 3rd graders. And they really see no issue with it. But had me sign up for a certain grade and gender when we signed up. I don't mind my daughter playing with boys on her team, but they should be her age, so she can play at full potential not less so she doesn't hurt 3rd grader feelings. Def should get a new sports director, I was told since the one they had left, sports have been crap. Current guy thinks not telling everyone before hand that they wouldn't get what they signed up and paid for was ok. The other mom spoke with the directors too, she doesn't want to hold her son back that's not what we signed up for. Maybe think about that before saying the team and games will be one way and then not follow thru. I also paid for tournaments... Her coach was never told about tournaments and we both wonder how that would work with different grade levels. Not organized. The coach was the best thing about this experience! We offered to pay him for private lessons.

Well after joining the YMCA here recently , I see that they've made no way to make it easier for the disabled people of getting into the therapy pool ,since that's the only thing that I can do at the Y .I'm on a walker ,and it's very hard for me to go up and get to the pool.Since there's only one way in and one way out it's really hard for people with disabilities. They should make an extra special entrance for the disabled people like the ones that only use the pool and nothing else. The side door used to be open for us to go through the ones disabled but now they have it locked so they say you can't go in or out ,Its an extra door only used for emergencies.🙄so it's very annoyingwhen you can't even go to the Y and enjoy yourself and so wore out even before you even get to the water. Whoever designed that place wasn't even thinking about anybody that was disabled and trying so hard to get back to the pool area.Really sux!!!!

The only reason I have a pass here is because my son likes the basketball court… but the people at the front in the afternoon are the most unwelcoming group of people. If there was another gym that had the court space I’d take my kid there.

With a focus on quality craftsmanship and innovative designs, they transform backyards into luxurious retreats featuring custom pools, spas, and landscaping elements. Their commitment to customer satisfaction ensures that each project reflects the unique vision of their clients while enhancing the overall aesthetic of any property.
We would HIGHLY recommend Ultimate Poolscapes. They did a fabulous job. David is extremely professional and really knows his craft. His crew were all fantastic craftsmen as well. Everyone had an eye for detail and made sure everything was up to a very high standard. They went so far as to work on weekends to keep things on schedule. We interviewed several builders and David Duron / Ultimate Poolscapes stood above the rest. We would recommend him without reservation to anyone building or refurbishing a pool. The price was reasonable and they did not nickel and dime us like we felt some of the other builders were trying to do. David or his daughter Taylor (who works for him) were only a text or phone call away at every point in the process so we always knew exactly what was going on. My wife and I could not be more thrilled with our new pool and with the service we received from Ultimate Poolscapes.

David's crew resurfaced our pool, installed new equipment, and they did an amazing job. They discovered we had leaks in our SPA flex piping, and repaired it with minimum disruption to our existing concrete. His crew was very knowledable and friendly.

David and Taylor are amazing! They took the mess that the previous contractor left me with and turned my pool dream into a reality! They fixed and finished my pool project on time and made it look more beautiful than I imagined it could be. We enjoyed our first swim season this summer and it was wonderful! I would recommend this company to anyone looking for quality work and great customer service.

Ultimate Poolscapes did a great job resurfacing our pool. We had bad cracks and were losing water. Other companies in the area were not responsive or failed to give quotes but David and the team were very attentive to my concerns. They were able to repair the cracks, replace our tile and resurface the pool and it looks amazing! We also had other equipment replaced. All in all, the entire job was done in a reasonable amount of time and we are extremely happy with the results. I would definitely recommend Ultimate Poolscapes for all of your Pool construction and remodel work!

David, Jackie, and Taylor were all amazing to work with! They delivered on everything they promised. Very pleased with the quality of design/construction as well as their follow-up after the job was completed. We made some revisions late in the construction, including one at the recommendation of David. They were very accommodating and still finished our project in a very reasonable time frame! If you are looking for a pool contractor in Waco, look no further than Ultimate Poolscapes!!!
Brandon P — Google review
We couldn't be more pleased with Ultimate Poolscapes! After getting several quotes from other pool companies, we called David and Jackie and they immediately came over and met with us about building our dream pool. Our gut feeling coupled with countless friends who had nothing but great things to say about David and his family’s reputation made our decision to go with Ultimate Poolscapes a 'no brainer'. Even though they were not the cheapest, we knew we would be getting a beautiful pool along with the quality that would last for many years to come. During the process of construction, David and his crew were nothing less than fabulous...they were courteous and always professional and worked around the clock 7 days a week. We have an extremely protective German Shepherd (that does not like just anyone and she makes that very clear)...with that being said she did not have one singe problem or issue with any of his employees! She definitely scared a few of them, but she quickly made friends with all of them. She never once had a problem with any single crew member or worker...which says a lot about who he has working for him and representing his company! Originally, David said it would take 8 weeks to build our pool...33 days later, we were swimming! We are now completely done with construction and are loving our new pool. Not only is David and Jackie our new friends, they have become part of our family. We even had David over for dinner a couple times (since Jackie was out of town and we couldn't let him starve!) This experience turned into much more than building a pool, because David and Jackie along with each and every employee will forever be part of our family! Not to mention, I think we are adopting David Jr. as our new son! Thank you Ultimate Poolscapes for an amazing experience and expanding our family!
David K — Google review
We are thrilled with the work that David and his team did to replace our aged and damaged fiberglass pool with a larger gunite pool. Due to weather and gunite availability issues, the project ran a little longer than expected; however, David continued to keep us updated and controlled everything that he could to ensure we quickly got the quality pool that we will be proud of for years to come. The project was particularly tricky since the pool is in a built-up space bordered by a retaining wall that overlooks Lake Waco. The structural designs were good and the work quality was excellent. David also did a good job of expanding the decking and replacing/expanding a sidewalk. The property was left in very good shape. All of the people who built the pool were exceptional. Every person there was professional, hard-working, friendly, and very respectful of the property and all of us.

Robinson Lions Public Pool, located just outside of Waco, has been a popular summer destination for years. With an entry fee of $6 per person and the option to purchase passes for frequent visits, it offers great value. The pool features diving boards and slides, as well as sunny and shady areas. Despite hot temperatures, the water remains surprisingly cool. The facility is well-maintained with recent upgrades including a nice fence and more shaded tables.
Absolutely love our community pool. The managers are all about bringing the community together for a safe and enjoyable time for all ages. Happy that they are strict on safety. Our son enjoys spending his summer at the pool and we are happy we do not have to worry about his safety. Thank yall for all your hard work and dedication.

My daughter broke a rule by jumping into the water near the ladder twice in the 90 minutes I was there. I understand why rules like that are in place--for safety. I have no problem with her being put in a timeout for an infraction when warranted. I do have a problem with how it was addressed. Angrily gesturing for me to come over to the lifeguard stand then being told verbatim: "I am sick of telling YOUR daughter not to jump near the ladder. She needs to get out of the pool for ten minutes RIGHT NOW." I'm a grown man who spent a good part of my ninety minutes scooping tons of bugs out of your pool. I don't need that tone or attitude. I told her calmly that we will leave then and take our business elsewhere. I had my daughter exit the pool with me and we dried off then gathered our things. Being approached by the owner on our way out with "What's the problem?" isn't how I'd go about a service issue but it's their business to run. 8 dollars a person, even if you don't swim. No water fountains and two dollars for a bottled water from concessions. An insanely high cooler charge for bringing your own stuff in. Rude staff. Other reviews correctly stated that you cannot go out to your car and the music is often not kid appropriate. I won't be returning here.
Tom R — Google review
Soooooo many rules. I understand safety is very important but no seems to be the main theme here. You cannot even bring in outside food or drink. The bathrooms were gross and the price is high for all you aren't allowed to do. The plus side is their diving boards and slide. Thankful the kids had a great time but will probably not return.

I’ve been taking my kids here for years. Always have great experience. It’s local, inexpensive not too crowded and serves that summertime need for a family pool day. Staff is nice. Plenty of lifeguards who seem very attentive to everything going on in the water.

We thought this was a great place. The pool was clean, people were friendly and it wasn’t over crowded. With the volley ball net set up it was fun to watch the kids playing volley ball or jumping off one of the 3 diving boards. We will definitely make this a “go to” place.

Worst experience at a pool I have ever had. My 2 sons and grandchildren came to enjoy the day when right off was told no outside water but that we could purchase a $15.00 cooler) REALLY? My adult son did a flip off off the diving board (1st whistle) no flips. My granddaughter jumped off the board with her visor on (2nd whistle) no visors or hats on diving board. It was explained to staff they are burn prone and skin cancer runs on both sides. (3rd whistle) my son was sitting on the deep end with his feet in the water watching the kids. (4th whistle) granddaughter slid down slide with visor on. They only mentioned not on diving board. (5th whistle) time to get the hell out of here. The "owner" came out and talked to us like we were trash, put us on eggshells and and ruined the kids day all within 1 hrs. 15 min. For $8.00 a person at a pool who played trash music for kids, and basically stalked us the whole time, I would give them a -10 for there power trip and lack of visual rules. The owner could use a class or 4 in customer service!
