Sandwich shop
Panini Toscani is a popular sandwich shop located near the Florence Cathedral, offering a unique experience of creating your own sandwiches with a variety of fillings such as fresh pecorino cheese, salame toscano, melanzane (eggplant), and peperoni sotto aceto (vinegar peppers). The shop is situated directly behind the Duomo and usually has short lines. Visitors can enjoy a tasting of the day's cured meats and cheeses before ordering their sandwiches.
WOW. EXCELLENT!!!! If there's a line, just get in it, as it goes very fast. Grab a menu as you're waiting. Staff is so good, giving you samples as you decide. In a line that moves so quickly you somehow don't feel rushed. The porchetta is to die for, both salami are excellent. All the breads are top notch. If I could've eaten more I would have!!!
Ben W — Google review
We were received with hospitality and asked to try first the ingredients before the sandwhich was made (type of bread, salami, prosciutto, cheese, sauces....) So you can choose the best ingredients for creating the perfect panini! It was delicious and the owner was super nice! Great experience.
Iulia S — Google review
Outstanding sandwiches- we went THREE times in a row! Best ones in town, despite “more hyped” shops. Fair priced, served HOT and good service. Lots of options for meat and veggie lovers; tons of bread, cooked veggies and cheese choices! Limited seating outside (with lots of pigeons) and a bit of a wait, but don’t let that get in the way- speak to the owner in Italian using google translate to ease communicate issues.
Shivani J — Google review
Great little sandwich shop right next to the Duomo. The owners and workers were all incredibly kind. They let us sample the meat and cheese beforehand which was great. My husband and I split a single sandwich but we should have listened to the owner and each got our own! Don’t miss this place when you’re in Florence!
Jenny H — Google review
Really cool experience and service. Definitely NOT the best sandwich in Florence though. Panini Toscani is known for letting visitors sample different meats before they build the sandwich and they have seating outside next to the Duomo. I think I didn't love their bread / how they toasted it. Other shops have better sandwich combos in my opinion. But hey it's all relative - you should still swing by for the experience and to try it out for yourself.
Zachary T — Google review
This is such a small little cafe, where you pick your bread and the meats that go in your paini. This was my favorite sandwich in all of Italy! I was enjoying eating it so much that i forgot to take a pic until it was half gone. So good! And they're have a few tables outside, so you can sit in the piazza by the Duomo.
Ramona B — Google review
Very good panini. Better than most popular places. The staff are also friendly & help in choosing. They provided meat & cheese samples to help us choose. I would give this a 5/5, but giving this a 4 as the older gentleman who collects the payment does not provide receipt for payment.
Gopalkrishna B — Google review
OMG absolutely fantastic. Loved how they give you samples of the 4 different meats, multiple cheeses and then you pick 3 toppings. The sandwiches were huge and amazing. Very cool to see the owner working and hanging out there too.

Trattoria Mario is a simple trattoria that has been serving Tuscan food since 1953. Located near the Mercato Centrale, it is known for its Tuscan soups, pastas, and meat dishes paired with regional wines. The menu changes daily and features classic dishes like ribollita vegetable soup and bollito misto. This family-run restaurant is only open for lunch and often has queues due to its no-reservation policy.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Without a doubt, the best meal of my entire trip through Europe. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere warm and full of life. At this restaurant, you can truly feel the essence of Italy, family, and tradition in every dish. I highly recommend it, a place you must visit to experience authentic and delicious Italian food. The amount of food is plentiful and the prices are very reasonable.
Sebastián L — Google review
Warning!!! Do not go here!! Very sad that I chose this as my first pasta meal I had in Italy. Came here due to all the good reviews and talks about how this is a very authentic place Was extremely pumped to try Ordered Florentine steak and marinara pasta ….soon greatly disappointed Two other people next to us also ordered the steak One of which we struck up a conversation with because he saw us picking at our steak and told us he was also very underwhelmed with the food The other group next to us didn’t even bother to finish Marinara Pasta 2/5 Nothing special, pasta noodles way too soft and very underwhelming. Definitely had way better pasta. We were recommended by the person sitting next to us to go to Trattoria Sabatino instead. Glad we went for dinner! Way better! Florentine steak 55euro/kg and minimum purchase of 600grams. Expensive compared to other places. Nothing else to say besides…. 🤢 bad. Might be rated at the top of one the worst steaks I have ever eaten. I had 1/3 of my steak and stopped wasting my stomach on bad food.

We made our reservations two solid months before we arrived in Florence and its a good thing that i did. In his confirmation reply, he suggested that I remind him a few days before and cautioned me not to be late or I would risk losing my spot. I reminded him 4 times. When we got there he pointed to the sign that said they were booked for the day and we were 10 minutes early! So I reminded him that I made reservations 2 moths ago. He stopped and said, "Are yiu Michael?" "Yes, I am!" He shook my hand and welcomed us in happily and sat us at a table. Bistecca alla Fiorentina is legendary and Trattoria Mario is the place to go for it. The hand cut and chop the bone to order. You can hear the ckeaver hitting that bone because the kitchen is semi open. You can see and hear and smell what is going on in there. You order, they bring out that raw porterhouse, 1 kg or 2.2 pounds, I approved it and 10 minutes later we were eating the best piece of beef that I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly rare! Delicious and definitely worth the 2 month reservation. We planned our activities in beautiful Florence around this perfect meal! Thank you, Mario and staff!
Mike S — Google review
Incredible hole-in-the-wall with authentic food and experience. We had the bolognese and Florentine steak. The pasta sauce was incredible - such a rich flavor. The steak was perfectly seasoned, if a bit on the rare side. We were lucky to get in for lunch without a reservation. It's not a big place, and the waiter said they are always full. We would definitely come back the next time we're here.
Jay W — Google review
The food is good but I had better fiorentina. Service is good and quick like they are ready to send you out for next customer. It’s not a place you sit down and enjoy meal. It’s more like you sit and have a quick meal in my opinion
Vivienne H — Google review
I'm a bit of a steak snob and stopped ordering it out as it's usually disappointing. The T-Bone here is amazing! Super soft inside, wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked which to me should be how every steak restaurant is. Came out rare. Very friendly and accommodating, managed to squeeze us in for an hour but would recommend pre booking a spot. Wish I'd come here earlier in our trip as I've only eaten the steak an hour ago and already want more. Various size steaks so if you want a bigger one ask for it, ours was 700g. Also had the meat pasta which was also delicious and the best one of our trip. Paid around 51 euros for the steak and pasta dish which I think is excellent value
Andrew R — Google review
Crowded, squeezy and small tables. Do order the steak with zucchini. We had a 1.3kg bone in for 4. At €70+, you have a heart serving of a very good steak. However, if you like your meat medium, this is not the place. The cut was around 1.5 inch thick. While it had a good char, much of the center was raw. I would much prefer it not so thick and I get an even amount of charred and raw meat.
Chuk Y — Google review
Truly amazing service by Mario’s familia! They were so sweet and friendly and the steak here was soft. Thought the steak would be too rare and tough but it tasted perfectly cooked and delicious. Had a nice hard sear and well seasoned. The tomato beans were also so comforting and tender. The place is quaint but bustling, felt like the real florentine deal!!

Da Garibardi is a charming Tuscan restaurant located near the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence. The warm and traditional space features exposed stone and wood beams, creating an authentic rustic atmosphere.
We loved this place so much that we went twice during our stay in Florence with the family. They offer an extensive gluten-free menu, with a dedicated kitchen and colour-coded plates to avoid any cross-contamination—perfect for those with dietary restrictions. The food was absolutely delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried. The service and atmosphere were equally excellent, and we felt genuinely welcomed by the entire staff. A special shoutout to Igor, the wonderful waiter who took great care of us during our first visit. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Florence!

Brilliant service. Our waiter was fantastic advising us on wine choice and the vegetarian options available. My son had the wild boar pasta dish which is his favourite of the holidays. I had a cheese board to start! Then a truffle pasta dish my wife had a ravioli dish with pear both were superb. 3 starters and 4 mains soft drinks for the kids and a bottle of red wine for 100€. Fantastico!

One of the nicest place to dine in so far for the Trip. First , both indoor and outdoor seatings are equally cool and nice. Food and wine was good too. Has the steak and paired very well with the wine. Service was good too.
JA A — Google review
Very good food and service, and very accommodating of gluten-free. We split the cheese platter and then I had the peposo alla fornacina con patate and everything was delicious. There was also gluten-free bread available for me, which was a nice touch.

We visited Florence in early August and, after enjoying the breathtaking sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo, we stopped at this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I had the seafood spaghetti (spaghetti allo scoglio), which was fresh and full of flavor. We finished with tiramisu and panna cotta—truly the best desserts in town! Highly recommend. 😊

Wonderful restaurant! My wife and I had our 33rd anniversary dinner here. We enjoyed it so much, it is now our favorite restaurant at the center. I'm sorry I don't have a pic of our waiter, Alex, but he is top notch.

We both ordered the pizza Diavalo - one regular, one gluten free (gf). Both were fresh and delicious. Also delighted by the quick service (at 3 pm)
Sharon J — Google review
We had dinner at this restaurant on the last day of our three-day Florence vacation. And I can honestly say it was the best meal we had during our entire Italy trip. Everything was just as it should be. The food, service, and atmosphere were wonderful. For an average of 20-30 euros per person, you can enjoy a wonderful dinner.

Ciro and Sons - Restaurant Pizzeria Firenze is a renowned trattoria in the heart of Florence, offering a wide range of traditional Italian dishes such as antipasti, pasta, and pizza. The restaurant is known for its delicious gluten-free options, including pizza that has received high praise from visitors. In addition to catering to those with gluten sensitivities, Ciro and Sons also offers vegan options.
We were recommended this place from friends that visited 20yrs ago, then they came again in June and said it was just as good. We were not disappointed! We started with the Il cuoppo, the street food basket. Then we had to try a Florentine Steak, which due to its size meant we only had the 1 main between 3, instead of being able to sample 3 dishes. Our youngest had the spaghetti with lobster, which my wife and I finished. We finished off with creme brulee, tiramisu and affogatos. Every single dish was delicious. Exceptional care was taken with gluten free meals for our coeliac son. Our waiter Roldan was very attentive, patient and funny. It was a very, very pleasant dining experience

A great family owned restaurant with great pasta and atmosphere. We went there at a packed night, the staff was really nice, but the service was a bit slow (not too terrible). We took ravioli and a pasta dish, both were really really great. We also took the burrata pizza, which was recommended by them. It was good, but not great. The menu has a picture of all of the staff members of the restaurant, which I found really cute and it made the place feel more authentic. I would highly recommend to go there.

We enjoyed a great lunch for the first time at Ciro & Son’s last year and were excited to return on our most recent trip to Florence this month. The margarita pizza is consistently delicious. Love the crust and the fresh flavors. We also love the refreshing insalata Italia (arugula salad was absolutely delicious with tomatoes, Parmesan and croutons). This year we paired our meal with the 2024 Bolgheri Bianco and last year we really enjoyed the Gavi. It was good to see Giuseppe again and a lot of familiar faces from this family owned restaurant. “Alex” Alessandro was a very kind and welcoming waiter. The ambiance is nice and lively. We look forward to our next visit!

I recommend this restaurant to everyone. The dishes are outstanding, and even those with food intolerances can safely enjoy them without any issues — plus, they taste amazing. Every member of the staff is very kind, funny, and efficient, and they are more than happy to accommodate any special dietary requests. The place is clean and beautifully maintained. Even when it’s fully booked, they make sure the guest always remains the focus. We were extremely satisfied with the service, the food, the restaurant, and the overall atmosphere. We left with a wonderful experience and will definitely return. Greetings from Hungary!

This is my favorite place in Florence. I felt like family because I could eat EVERYTHING gluten free. It was so special for me. The owner makes you feel like family as well as the servers. If you are gluten free (or not) this is a DO NOT MISS. It was a great experience. The inside of the restaurant my blends old world with modern seamlessly. The food is fantastic. EVERY MENU ITEM CAN BE MADE GLUTEN FREE. My GF truffle ravioli was perfect. Highly recommend me coming here
Michelle C — Google review
I have Celiac & my husband is dairy intolerant - I would highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Florence! They also are able to accommodate vegans and take great precautions for the allergies. The servers are very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. As is one of the owners; his happy positive energy makes this place even better and also engages with kids, making them laugh. The food is AMAZING!!!

The BEST ITALIAN GLUTEN FREE PIZZA RESTAURANT in the world, period! My fave? Why, the lobster pasta, of course. You just cannot go wrong with your selection. Their flour is what makes their dish! Gluten free and you won’t even know it. It’s that good! And you can grate your own cheese over your pasta! Oh and make sure to leave room for dessert. Friendly service - you can speak English and very accommodating!

The Best of Florence: Amazing Food, Incredible Value, and Genuine Kindness Do not come to Florence without eating here! This was the highlight of my trip. Amazing food, amazing people, and amazing prices. Yes, Florence is a city where some places will charge you 30€ for a plate of pasta or a single glass of wine. At Ciro & Sons, my incredible pizza (absolute perfection, from the dough to the tomatoes) and a half-bottle of wonderful Siena red wine (get the "Ama"!) was only 36€. It's not a tourist trap; it's just fantastic food at a truly fair price. But what makes this place a must-visit is the heart. I was traveling solo for my 44th birthday, and the staff, led by the owner Giuseppe, came out and sang "Happy Birthday" to me with the biggest, most genuine smiles. It's probably been 20 years since anyone sang to me, and their kindness was overwhelming. In a city that can feel touristy and expensive, Ciro & Sons is the real deal. I've never felt more welcome. Grazie mille!

Pino's Sandwiches is a family-run sandwich shop in Florence that serves up high-quality Tuscan food at an affordable price. It is perfect for those who want to enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner without breaking the bank. The indoor seating is comfortable and spacious, making it ideal for a quick bite when you're in the mood for some Italian cuisine.
We loved this place!! Came here twice in our 4 days in Florence and will be back next time. So much variety and delicious, quality ingredients. Also super affordable!! We checked out a few of the other similar shops and found they were more expensive and didn’t have as good a range of options! Spritz were only €5 too so a must! Both times we saw the Pino! Very nice guy and impressive to see him working there on the daily! He obviously really cares about the food they are serving. The line may take a little while but it is very worth it as you get your food only minutes after you order! Lots of space to sit inside as well. Definitely worth a visit.
Ella P — Google review
Trying out another sandwich shop. Again, there was a long line when we arrived. I ordered the roast beef. The breads are the same crunchy ones. I gave a 5-star because some sandwiches here come with more fresh ingredients. Other than that, I feel all the Italian sandwiches are very similar. There is no need to wait in a long line for a sandwich.
Jimmy L — Google review
We got so lucky we stumbled across this place after taking pictures at the Fotoautomatica. The foccaccia was surprisingly good. Crunchy and warm. They have more than one vegetarian option which is nice for a place in Italy.

Pino’s is a Florentine gem. The Jack and XO Special sandwiches were both outstanding — bold, balanced flavors, generous fillings, and perfectly toasted bread that stayed crisp without overpowering the ingredients. Service was warm and efficient, and the team made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The space is cozy with a small seating area, ideal for a relaxed lunch or a quick, satisfying stop while exploring the city. Highly recommended for anyone who loves sandwiches made with care and great ingredients.

I had already tried the most famous sandwich place in Florence elsewhere so I was dying to try something different. Pinot sandwiches is really highly rated inappropriately so. This is a family owned and run business and they are so happy to serve you. There’s a line going out the door, but it moved fairly quickly. As soon as you got the front, Pinot himself took your order and started on making your sandwich. They cut up the meat fresh in front of you and then top it off with the toppings and set it to heat. Then you wait for it to be done before paying. The sandwiches in Italy are such a big size that I have a hard time finishing them on my own, but they’re so good that I end up doing so anyways. It’s a great way to eat on the go or take a seat at one of the numerous tables he has inside. There’s also a pretty decent bathroom if you need that. All in all would recommend this over the other sandwich place since I love local family owned businesses.
K Z — Google review
Absolutely amazing sandwiches, unique combinations but prepared traditional Florentine style. And everything is prepared to order, not pre-made. I had the Bomba Ferrari. Delicious. Can’t wait to go back. And owners are super friendly.
James W — Google review
The shop was cozy and nice. The portions was big for each people. The quality of ingredients was excellent but personally i would prefer if a sandwich had a higher tomato-cheese ratio. It was mostly meat (not my cup of tea but some people would like).
Çağla T — Google review
Was good! I had the Turkey best.. can’t say it was AMAZING but it was a fresh and tasty sandwich. The bread was very crispy and waiting line went quickly. Pino is a cool guy. They also had a room of indoor seating which was nice. I paid a little less than 10 euro for a sandwich and water.

Gluten-free restaurant
Restaurant
Ristorante Quinoa, established in 2014, holds the distinction of being Florence's first gluten-free restaurant. The entire menu is gluten-free, and diners are treated to delicious fresh gluten-free bread at the start of their meal. The restaurant is situated in a former 16th Century cloister with a charming outdoor courtyard adorned with greenery and statues. Located near the Santa Maria Maggiore Cathedral, this eatery offers exclusively gluten-free cuisine.
This is definitely a hidden gem in Florence! If you like healthy gluten-free but super tasty, this is your place. Both me and my wife were so happy to find it! And the people were awesome!

Fantastic! It's not a chain. They literally have everything gluten free. Its amazing:) We ordered four different kinds of risotto and a tartar to share for the table and even the bread and the beer was gluten free and super tasty!!!

This place is a hidden gem and I am glad we paid a visit. They are 100% GF and so no worries Celiacs!! We started off with some Apertivo and then had the grilled octopus salad which was fantastic! We then got Fried Seafood(Large) and the Pad Thai. They were also very good!. The fried seafood is alot and probably could had half of it! Again we did not leave room for dessert but throughly enjoyed this place!!
Dyron P — Google review
We were excited to eat at a 100% GF restaurant since 3 of us have Celiac. Our food was great but when we got the dessert menu, my father pointed to the cheesecake and asked if it was GF to confirm, and the waiter said “no.” We then panicked a bit and wondered if the bread and our dinners were GF. I believe they were, and perhaps the waiter misunderstood the question. Still, it was worrisome. If not for the lack of clarity in the food being 100% GF, I would give 5 stars.

Amazing food with great service in a really cute restaurant. The staff were very receptive and understanding of allergies, and this is specifically advertised as a gluten free restaurant. I’m not gluten free, but my friend is. I would never have been able to tell that the food was gluten free! The flavor and texture was amazing. We shared some appetizers, I had the asparagus risotto, and a chocolate torte for dessert, and it was all superb.

How can I possibly describe this lovely restaurant? Quinoa is a beautiful space, both indoors and out, with a 100% gluten-free menu that is simply outstanding. Every dish looked delicious, but during our two visits we had the Medaglioni di quinoa e verdure, the seafood pasta, the Pad Thai with prawns, and a wonderful Sicilian white wine. Thanks to the kind and attentive staff—with a special thanks to Conti for the thoughtful explanations—we enjoyed two absolutely satisfying meals. If we ever return to Florence, this will be one of the first places we revisit.

Nice restaurant with a whole Gluten Free menu. Tasty fried chicken pieces loved by my son, soft Gnocchi are absolute gem with freshly cut herbs! And we also had Zucchini lasane tasty tasty! Everything great, we were seated outside in atrium which has Nice atmosphere. I got enough GF bread to have tasty apetizer until all the dishes came! Loved it!

Gorgeous courtyard seating area as well as inside space, completely gluten free and delicious vegan options. We tried the vegan burger and vegan pad thai which were both delicious, was honestly scared the burger wasn't vegan and checked with the waiter 🤞🏻Ended the night with the sedardita dessert. Lovely mocktails

Ristorante Trattoria da Burde is a traditional Tuscan tavern that has been serving authentic Tuscan cuisine since 1901. This rustic venue offers a variety of dishes, including Florentine steak and stuffed pastas, accompanied by an extensive selection of over 500 labels of Tuscan wines and champagnes. The restaurant is known for its family-owned ambiance and commitment to preserving the heritage of Tuscan food.
Traditional old trattoria we had some fresh pasta and cold cut to start. We also try the chicken liver. The food is simple and good. I recommend more this kind of place that the tourist trap in the center.

Trattoria da Burde is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the journey. Located in the outskirts of Florence, this place is where locals go for a hearty, traditional meal. The atmosphere is simple and warm – no frills, just good food and good people. I ordered the pappa al pomodoro and the bollito misto, a variety of boiled meats served with sauces. Everything was rustic and deeply satisfying. The ingredients were clearly top-notch, and the kitchen doesn’t cut corners. The staff were welcoming and happy to walk us through the menu. We felt like guests in someone’s home. Prices were fantastic – around €30 per person for a full meal with wine. It’s a great spot if you want to explore beyond the city center and experience a slower pace. There's a sense of culinary history here, and you can tell the recipes have been passed down through generations. If you love traditional food done right, this is a must-visit. Definitely one of the most memorable meals we had in Florence.

Amazing place in Florence! The food is delicious and gives you the feeling of being in a true Italian home. It’s a historic spot with a great atmosphere and very authentic products — you can really taste the quality. Definitely worth a visit if you want a real Italian experience.

Despite being located far away from the city centre, we were really happy to experience good local food at this lovely restaurant and it was worth it at the end of the day. Service is perfect, the team showed us great hospitality - and explained everything to us tourists. We got the chance to try out various different types of food, which were delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent lunch spot or perfect for a nice date night. Charmingly authentic little local spot! The Fiorentina Bistecca was wonderful. I and my friend had the Pici Pesto and Pici Aglione. So good. The bar is in front. Prompt and delightful service.

I’m definitely coming back. Delicious food, service was great. I didn’t feel rushed to order, eat or leave. The filetto was unbelievably tender. It does come with some fat and nerves, but honestly, you don’t want to overwork such high quality meat. Cold cuts and cheese were amazing. Wine by the glass was also insanely good. My only regret was not having someone to share a bistecca fiorentina with. I saw a few reviews complaining about the food or service. I’m not trying to make excuses or say they’re wrong, maybe it was just a busy day or something. My experience was excellent.
Dida B — Google review
Overall great. Original atmosphere. A place for locals. The Fiorentina was nicely done. House wine very drinkable. However, the service was unwelcoming and raw at first. The place was 2/3 empty for a very late lunch; we had a reservation, but got by far the worst table, half into a passage towards the kitchen, because the rest was obviously already prepared for the next day. The annoying Germans we can be 😎, we forced our way towards a better table. (Just insist!) In the end, our waiter even warmed up a bit, after we ordered one dessert after the other.

Our final dinner in Florence was at @trattoriadaburde for Bisteca Florentine. We were excited to try this Florentine dish as we are all steak lovers. My suggestion if you don’t like very rare or blue steaks is not to have this. Thankfully I like it like this but for others in our group it was borderline edible at this doneness. The food was good and the sides of potatoes and seasonal veg were very good. This restaurant is a bit further out and the English speaking ability is much less. We had a lot of trouble communicating. In the end Ryan spoke some Spanish which she understood a little of, and we used google translate. We managed to get everything delivered that we asked for. The restaurant is beautiful and very large which means service can be slow. If you are heading out here for dinner be warned that it’s very hard to get a taxi afterwards. We were on a tight time limit as we were departing Florence late that night, so I would definitely come and try this again with someone who speaks Italian and without any time constraints.

Fermento 1889 is a popular Neapolitan-style pizzeria located in the Oltarno district of Florence, Italy. The restaurant offers classic wood-fired pizzas with charred, chewy crusts and savory toppings. To secure a seat at this sought-after spot, guests are advised to call ahead as it accommodates customers by offering three seatings a night: 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9:30 p.m.
Of course, when you're in Italy, you want to try real Italian pizza or authentic Italian pasta. And there’s no shortage of options — on every corner, there’s a restaurant offering these traditional dishes. But it's always a real pleasure to find a place that not only uses high-quality ingredients and serves delicious food, but also offers something extra. Something you can't find just anywhere. And this restaurant is exactly that kind of place. What they serve here, you won’t find in most other restaurants. The pizza recipes are original and creative, the dough is exceptionally good, and the toppings are unique and well thought out. I highly recommend trying the pizza here — and you’ll understand what true pizza-making artistry tastes like.

The best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Shocked this place does not have more reviews. This was recommended to me by an Italian friend of mine for having the best pizza in Italy so I came in with high expectations and it did not disappoint. You can order the pizza in two styles round or rectangle. We ordered a traditional round margherita, and then two rectangles of gatta al lardo and carbonara. Each pizza on its own was incredible. The gatta al lardo was our favorite but I don’t think you could go wrong with any pizza here. The ingredients here seem to be very high quality. The dough is something extra special. We had a little leftover and it still tasted great the next day. The only sad part about eating here is that most other pizzas will become a disappointment and I eat a lot of pizza . 10/10 recommend. I will definitely be back!

Great pizza but we were the only table in the restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday and were told we only had the table for 1.5 hours. I think there may be more than one room to the restaurant but we were the only people in our area, we made a reservation and were told multiple times we only had the table for an hour and a half, this wasn't an issue but it just lacked atmosphere it's a shame because the pizza was delicious.

Gelateria Artigianale La Sorbettiera is a must-visit in the San Frediano neighborhood, offering incredibly creamy gelato and fresh fruit sorbets. The owner, Antonio, comes from a long line of gelato makers and is dedicated to blending tradition with innovation.
I visited this café and tried the Tiramisu and Hazelnut ice cream. The flavors were really good and tasty, but unfortunately, the experience was affected by the service. The staff, particularly one girl, was rude and unwilling to let me try the flavors before I decided what to order. This was disappointing, as good service is just as important as good food. Overall, while the ice cream was delicious, the customer service could definitely be improved.

Really nice gelato! The queue waiting times was not bad at all, they had a nice variety of flavours and the service was also good. My favorite thing about this place was the attention to detail in the flavour description, like the cacao percentage variations in chocolate gelato or the fact that they use Brontë pistachio (aka the best one in the work!) you certainly pay for quality ingredients

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a delightful gelato shop in Florence, and I can't recommend them enough! The gelato was absolutely delicious, with a rich and creamy texture that made every scoop a heavenly experience. The flavors were inventive and fresh, truly capturing the essence of Italian gelato. What really stood out was the wonderful staff. They were incredibly friendly and allowed us to sample different flavors before making our purchase. This was especially appreciated as it was lightly drizzling outside, and they kindly invited us to sit inside the shop to enjoy our treats away from the rain. Their hospitality made the experience all the more enjoyable! For anyone planning a trip to Florence, make sure to stop by this gelato shop. Although I noticed some conflicting information on Google about their hours, I can confirm that they were open during the first week of January when I visited. Don’t miss out on this gem when you're in the city!

Night time stop at yet another gelato place. This time I had their affogato (gelato with coffee) with cream on top. The gelato, of course, makes this Italian affogato better than what you would find in the US and yes definitely a must try is you are a coffee and a gelato lover.

One of the best ice cream shops in Florence. Fresh and artisanal ice creams from La Sorbettiera that has now other venues spread all over Florence. I really appreciate the fact that they have few flavours that change over the different seasons with just very few flavours always proposed, such as hazelnut and pistachio. I got a medium tub with hazelnut, pistachio and catrame (dark chocolate). Tasty and authentic flavours not overwhelming in terms of sweetness. Staff really nice and kind. I highly recommend this place. It is always a pleasure to visit this and the other venues.

Pizza was unique enough for Italy and very tasty. Desserts were also pretty good. I liked the pie (not pictured) more than the chocolate cake (pictured)but all of it was eaten happily. Stumbled across this place in Florence on a rainy day - best decision we have made all trip. The food was divine. The atmosphere electric. Best thing was the service and the genuine car from the owner/s and staff. We felt so welcome and it was super enjoyable. Could have stayed here all day.

Visited here without much expectation, but was surprised and very satisfied with the food, vibe, and hospitality. Easily a 5/5 experience 👍 - Food: Great array of pizza from simple to complex and a nice beer collection. If you’re a fan of having pizza with beer, then this is the place. I think it could easily be the best eatery in town, whether you want a quick bite, or even hang out with your partner/family, or even a group of friends. 5/5 - Service: All staff members from the owner and waiters are super helpful and kind. Food was out in a snap, which is not so expected in a bustling restaurant like here. 5/5 - Mood: It’s a bit loud but pleasant. Definitely more towards having a fun night out. 5/5 - Cleanliness: I didn’t see anything dirty, nor were the tables sticky. Clean enough for me. 5/5 - Price: I don’t think it was pricey at all. In fact I loved the food so much every penny felt well spent. 5/5 - Will I Revisit: Hell yeah. 5/5

Banki Ramen is a casual space in Florence that transforms into a perfect spot for lovers of Japanese culture and cuisine during dinner time. It offers classic ramen bowls, rice dishes, gyoza dumplings, and Japanese beer. The menu features various ramen variations such as Shoyu Ramen and Tsuke-Men. The restaurant started as a bar but expanded to serve wheat noodle soup accompanied by spicy miso, providing a treat for the palate.
A cosy, welcoming safe haven with affordable and delicious food! We came here wanting to escape the torrential rain and we were wowed with the hospitality and quality of the food. The wait-staff looked after us and even made an off the menu salad for me! The portions were generous and we genuinely felt like well cared for patrons rather than "just another tourist". If you're feeling a bit overwhelmed with the madness of the city centre, I'd recommend coming in here for good food and an authentic experience of Italian hospitality ❤️

It’s located at a corner of the street and we nearly missed it coz the name is at the other side of the corner. From the main road, we thought it was a bakery as there were lotsa baked goods (something not very likely in a 🇯🇵 restaurant). 😉 but the outcome of the ramen taste is quite authentic (maybe not fully same as in 🇯🇵) but very acceptable quality. The menu is lengthy and needs some digestion before we can order 🤪 quite well patronised as there are crowds drifting in and out constantly. Service staff is polite and friendly 👍🏻 they can understand English which makes comm easier. 👍🏻
Ken N — Google review
I went there and tried their Shoyu Chasyumen combo with Meat Fried Rice and Gyoza. While the Gyoza is decent and meat fried rice is okay, the ramen is a bit lacking in term of flavor and the noodle itself is very basic. Having said that, for a ramen place in Florence, this might be your best bet. So, if you are tired of all those tratorria, bistro, pasta and pizza, trying this place aint bad at all (price is super affordable too)

we're craving for Asian food and were looking for Asian food near our hotel and found this place with pretty good rating. ordered the miso ramen which was just mediocre. taste-wise, can't compare to what we can get in Asia but it's pretty decent. the miso in the soup is not strong and would be better if the egg is not hard boiled. the gyoza is slightly better although the skin is a bit thick. not bad if you're looking for Asian food.

Came here for Shoryu ramen and I got a version of it. I have eaten ramen all over the world and this one was good. Strong shoryu broth, char shu was good and plentiful if you order the larger size. Ramen was al dente. I would have preferred bamboo shoots rather than beansprouts. Service was fine and quick. Don't forget it's a bar that also serve coffees and Italian food. The chef is from Japan 4.5🌟

So I came here extremely hungry and ordered a cold ramen to cool down from the summer heat, and everything was great until I got a very small portion of unseasoned bowl of raw ingredents. I was at least expecting a bit of cold soup as it was called a miso soup ramen, but instead there was only a small amount of soup at the very bottom, that I could not drink because it was too constrated. The food did not taste bad but I still got a bit shocked. The egg was a nice touch but the rest was a bit underwhelming and the noodles where undercooked. There was no line and the food came after a short wait so that was good. I was still hungry after eating but didn't want to order another hot ramen. 5/10

Il Vegano - Firenze is a 100% vegan bistro located near the Duomo in Florence. It offers organic vegan cuisine that goes beyond the usual cliche of using only seitan or tofu. The restaurant has been committed to offering strictly organic food for several years and is situated close to Ponte Vecchio. Their menu features cruelty-free and zero km options, showcasing their dedication to sustainability.
I had the tagliatelle and tiramisu at Il Vegano, and both were absolutely delicious. The tagliatelle was fresh and full of flavour, but the real highlight for me was the tiramisu. It was the best one I had during my whole trip in Italy! The prices were also very reasonable. The staff were friendly and very helpful too. If you're looking for tasty and affordable vegan food in Florence, I definitely recommend this place!

During a blazing hot day a couple of months ago - it was nice to find a spot to get out of the sun. I should've ordered something else because the salad was underwhelming with the dressing option being only an apple vinaigrette. The croquettes were slightly bland but healthy which I appreciated. However, my husbands pasta was lovely! The service was friendly and the music was awesome - I love the 80's.
M C — Google review
Experience full of contrasts. On one hand, the food: excellent! Quality ingredients, right portions and let me say it: finally a restaurant that doesn't overdo it with oil and salt! Amazing lasagna and for dessert the best vegan tiramisu I've ever tasted. The place is small and informal with 80s and 90s music in the background that is very pleasant and relaxing. Unfortunately the service has some flaws: excessively slow, some small inaccuracies and managing to call the waiter every time is always a challenge. He should be the one to come to you and not the other way around. I think the problem could be easily solved by increasing the staff. Average prices.

Really good vegan food with clear ingredients listed and accommodating options for gluten-free diets. The Lasagne Vegan al ragù di Seitan was rich and very creamy — definitely enough to share. The Fusilli Freschi al Pesto di cavolo nero e zucchine was lighter and fresh, though not super filling on its own. However, do be aware that they charge a hidden service fee of €2 per person that isn’t mentioned upfront. You can’t opt out of it, which felt a bit sneaky. Otherwise, the place is friendly and transparent with the food itself.

Great Vegan food with many gluten free options. I had the seitan lasagne and my wife had melanzzane. We shared a big salad. Gluten free beer is also available.

Extremely happy with our meal here at Il Vegano. We always love variety and the blend of both traditional Italian and other styles of food was a refreshing change of pace. The black Venus rice was a pleasant surprise as it was absolutely bursting with flavour. Also recommend the Tagliatelle and Lasagna. The texture of the seitan was really lovely and the way the classic ragout stew flavours were developed was perfect. 10/10 Oh and definitely give the cheese cake a try. Rivals non-vegan alternatives in my view.
Sophie K — Google review
We came here on a Saturday night struggling to get in anywhere else, and glad we found this. The food is really good- simple cooking but in the best way, really comforting stuff. The seitan goulash was absolutely tremendous, and the eggplant Parm was really well salted (wasn't sure about the rice cake with it though..) The seating isn't comfortable at all and the place feels almost more takeaway than restaurant so if you're looking for somewhere with a nice ambience this isn't it, but the service was friendly and they had some cracking 80s tunes playing.
Sam H — Google review
It was fine. Definitely not bad, but also far from the best vegan dishes I’ve tried. The food felt more like a homemade cooking rather than restaurant dishes - quite simple and not bursting with flavors. Lasagna didn’t have enough seitan filling, tasted mostly like tomato and cheese. Tiramisu was very thick and not fluffy, and had zero coffee aroma. I’d be happy with it if it was called “cream cake”, but it wasn’t a good vegan representation of a classical tiramisu

Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio is an indoor marketplace that has been a part of Florence since 1873. It's a bustling hub for traditional vendors offering a variety of goods, from fruits and vegetables to specialty foods. The market is an integral part of the city's fabric, catering not only to tourists but also serving as the go-to spot for locals seeking fresh produce, meats, and seafood.
There are two markets in Florence, and this one is where the locals shop. Therefore, it is not overcrowded with tourists and has more local butchers, cheese mongers, and other stores. This is the place to visit if you want to experience local shopping options.
Stanley S — Google review
So many food options here for everyone! This is where I had the best truffle pasta of my life! Only this was the seating was limited, so can be hard to find a seat with the huge crowd. And also hold onto your handbags and phones, as it’s reported to be a high pick-pocketing area. Leather markets are just outside too, so plenty to choose from - just make sure you bargain them down!

Tiffany C — Google review
Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio is one of Florence’s most authentic and community-rooted markets. Unlike the more tourist-heavy Mercato Centrale, Sant’Ambrogio feels like a true local experience. The market is compact but vibrant, filled with fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and baked goods sourced from nearby farms and artisans. It’s where Florentines shop for their daily meals, and you can feel that rhythm in the way vendors interact—warm, direct, and proud of their offerings. The indoor section is especially rich with butchers and fishmongers, while the outdoor stalls overflow with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Beyond groceries, the market is surrounded by small eateries and cafes that reflect the same local spirit. Cibreo Caffè and Teatro del Sale are just steps away, offering meals that feel like an extension of the market’s ethos—simple, high-quality, and deeply Florentine. Whether you’re picking up ingredients or just soaking in the atmosphere, Sant’Ambrogio offers a grounded, flavorful slice of daily life in Florence. For its authenticity, charm, and community feel, I’d give it a solid 5 out of 5.
Jonathan P — Google review
Not the biggest or most popular market in Florence, but definitely worth a visit! My tip: look for the local grape pie – I’ve never had anything like it before. Incredibly delicious and truly unique! On Saturdays, the market expands with a huge variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, and cold cuts. You can also enjoy a meal inside. In short - there’s a lot to discover here!
Olga V — Google review
Opened in 1873 and designed by Giuseppe Mengoni, the market follows a similar concept to Florence’s Central Market but on a smaller, more local scale. Outside, stalls sell fruits, vegetables, and clothing, while the indoor section focuses on fresh food and everyday groceries, offering a lively glimpse of local life.

Pizzeria Giovanni Santarpia is a renowned Neapolitan pizza spot located in the heart of Florence. The pizzeria, a project by Pietro Baracco, Giuseppe Calabrese, Simone Fiesoli and Giovanni Santarpia, has gained popularity for its authentic Neapolitan pizzas. It received the prestigious Tre spicchi vote on the Pizzerie d'Italia 2016 guide.
We stopped by here during a trip to Florence from London. A friend had insisted that we make the journey out of the city to try this pizza. I was dubious as I have celiac and have to eat gluten free. Expectations were very high, but every single one of them was exceeded. The gluten free pizza was specially developed by the head chef, which the menu explained. The texture was incredible, the perfect balance of crispy and chewy. The simple ingredients topping it were of very high quality and perfectly complemented the dough. My husband had a regular pizza with gluten which he also spoke very highly of. Even the desserts were sensational - my gluten free tiramisu made for a beautiful end to the meal. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough; if you are gluten free and you come to Florence, you must make the journey to visit Giovanni Santarpia.

The classic montanarina…. wow. This review is dedicated to the most INCREDIBLE dish I ate during my entire trip touring Italy so far. An amazing starter that was a flavour bomb & beyond memorable! I ate 2 and honestly I wish I ordered 2 more instead of the pizza. (Nothing against the pizza it was also so good but this stole the spotlight) It was the star of the entire meal thats why I wont even be posting the pizza photos, people should come here just to try this fluffy fried dough heaven. It’s basically a savoury doughnut topped with the most perfect marinara sauce, basil pesto & salted ricotta cheese flakes. I will be dreaming of this when i’m back home truly. Highly HIGHLY recommended for anyone visiting Florence. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as it is a local favourite (and now I know why!)

This is my third time visiting this pizzeria in the past year, and I truly believe it’s probably the best pizzeria not only in Florence but also in the surrounding area. I don’t want to go into too much detail about the pizzas—you simply have to come and try them for yourself. The menu is minimal, without a hundred different dishes—they’re focused on pizza, and that’s it. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly. Reservations are a must.

Great service, authentic pizza they serve in their restaurant, nice ambience for family or for the any BD celebration gathering. They are very accommodative for any request. Pizza is fresh and ready to serve at your table. Food quality is great, many option for you to choose for. I would love to come back again. Highly recommend to all.

The place is so beautiful, we were sitting on the outdoor terrace. I highly recommend making a reservation as it gets very busy. The pizza was delicious and the service great. I would eat there again and again

Perfect pizza. Perfect atmosphere. Perfect staff. A quick and efficient restaurant. When I arrived, the inside of the restaurant was full. We ordered a Quattro Formaggi and the famous Margherita with yellow tomatoes. The pizzas arrived in just 8 minutes, and both of them were delicious. The craft beer was really special. Besides, I tried the pistachio tiramisu — it was truly delicious.

Best pizza i ever ordered. The people who work here are the nicest persons you will meet in Firenze. Not expensive and absolutely the best experience. Tip: try the rooftop bar but don’t forget to reservate a table. It’s worth it!

Everything tastes so fresh and full of flavor, and it’s the perfect spot to refuel after a day of exploring Florence’s art and history. Definitely a must-visit for health-conscious foodies!

We had our final meal in Florence here. It looks like a very hard working couple run the place. Their fresh ginger juice was really tasty and we enjoyed the deconstructed vegan burger. The place was packed when we arrived but lucky to score the only seat outside. Tucked away from the craziness of the center, this place was great escape to have a quiet meal.

Food paradise. The moment I stepped into this place, time stood still, like magnetism I had to sit down and try some food. I had an immunity shot (body very happy) and a nourishing bowl (soul even happier). This bowl was divine. Incredible taste combination and even though I expected a warm dish, only the perfectly cooked sweet potato was warm - I couldn’t have been happier with my choice. From the first bite it felt like entering food heaven. Highly commend this place if you’re after something healthy and divinely delicious in welcoming environment 🙏

This was my favorite place we ate in Florence. It might not be the typical Florence visitors cup of tea, but the food was fresh and delicious and did what food is supposed to do - provided me with energy for the rest of the day. I had the Vitamin juice drink and the Nourish bowl and I can't recommend either highly enough. They were both delicious. Like I told my friends, I watched the chef grab fresh vegetables from the cart, walk them over to the prep station and make the bowl. Plus, the restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming. I'd go there everyday for lunch if I lived there. If you're in town, I suggest you check it out.

I hesitated to leave a review, but to help the business and others, I decided to share my experience. This cozy restaurant focuses on organic and healthy food options. We arrived for a late lunch just before 4 PM. One issue was the attitude of one of the staff members. Not only were we not greeted when walked in, when we asked at the cashier if the lunch menu was still available, she was very unbothered. While we understood that some dishes might not be available, her attitude left a very negative impression. Additionally, although the food was tasty and high-quality (my cheese platter and Cleanse cold-pressed juice were wonderful), the waiting time was really long, as some customers have noted. The place also seemed disorganized, with a big box on the seat and menus scattered on the table when we walked in. Fortunately, the owner and the other staff were nice and sincere, which allowed us to enjoy our meal in the end.
Melissa — Google review
This is a great place to have tasty, natural, food. I had the avocado sandwich and my companions tried the chickpea burger. Both were delicious. I highly recommend it
Andrea O — Google review
I don’t have a lot to judge it from or compare it to as far as Italy since we just arrived but compared to similar places back home, I’d say the food was acceptable but not the tastiest or most flavorful. It was nice to have a salad as Italians seem to eat too much bread. 😂 I do love pasta but gosh I need my veggies! The chocolate cake didn’t taste like chocolate but maybe the one with coffee does? I don’t like coffee so I wasn’t interested in trying it out. Anyway, we had the fruity one which I didn’t love. The chocolate banana smoothies were better as far as chocolaty flavor is concerned (we love chocolate). The lady who served us was hospitable and friendly. She was most helpful in giving us the name of a couple of other vegan/vegetarian places to eat at which is helpful. Cute little place. The veggies are on display next to the seating area so the fruit flies were ridiculous: all up in and on our food. One fell and instantly died in my hot soup. I managed to scoop it out. I had the miso which wasn’t terribly salty. Overall, it’s nice to have an option to find fresh salads at and no meat to tarnish the food.

Base V Juicery is a popular vegetarian and vegan cafe with multiple locations in Florence and one in Milan. It's a go-to spot for health-conscious visitors, offering a variety of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, avocado toast, salads, wraps, soups, and plant-based meals. The menu also features delicious vegan and gluten-free treats like chocolate peanut butter cookies. Located near the Uffizi museum in Florence, it's an ideal place to recharge after exploring the city's attractions.
Pressed there daily! I had a sandwich that had too much sauce on it - while the sandwich was fresh and delicious too much oily sauce made feel a bit nauseous. The fresh green refreshing juice fixed it for me. They also have small vegan bites with no sugar, gluten, and refined sugar. Totally worthy spot if you’re trying to cut down on calories or just looking for something healthy and light.

So if you are visiting Florence - this venue has great Vegan and Gluten free Salads, Freshly squeezed juice infusions, coffee and cakes. Reasonable priced - and chilled and comfortable ambience. Visited twice it was that good. Staff are friendly and multi-Lingual. Tables and Restaurant is immaculately clean - with a window into the kitchen so you can see how everything is prepared. The toilets is also very clean with a Dyson hand dryer. American Express is also excepted

Nice place to work and snack healthily. They had a really tasty smoothie and tasty looking bowls. The lady on the teal was nice and helpful. Here's why 3 stars: The toilet had no lock and no water. See the photo of the meal I had. Though it was tasty it was very sad and fridge cold. It would do with some herbs on top or at least 1 cherry tomato cut in half to bring it up to life. The toast was cold and black. Like a charcoal one. Nothing I'd choose if I'm asked. The quinoa would do with some baking for texture and the tofu...pre-grilled would help with colour and taste. All in all it was nice to find a healthy choice with so many goodies. It is a bit of a shame that there's a lot of packaging even if eating in. Even though most of it is compostable the point is to reduce not create compostable waste that will take ages to biodegrade.

Really bad food, no flavour. I had a salad and a wrap. I found the stem of a zucchini in the salad and the wrap was all soggy and not fresh. This place really needs improvement.

Near the Uffizi, I found this charming, bright healthy option. I had the açaí bowl which is about 10-12 ounces with fresh fruit/nuts and seeds on top. It as fresh and wonderful. Then I ordered the hummus toast with cherry tomatoes and arugula on sourdough. It was so simple and delicious. There was a high quality olive oil drizzled on top. Base V offered many pre-made salads/bowls take-aways that looked incredible. The staff was so friendly and helpful. If you are gluten free or vegan/vegetarian you will have tons of options from juices, salads, bowls, or smoothies. It was nice to have a break from heavy pizza, pasta, Tuscan food. Don’t miss it if you want a relaxing, refreshing, health-conscious, and delicious meal. Also, it was affordable. **I believe you pay more to sit in the cafe than if you take it to go.** The friendly staff were good at understanding my broken Italian and many of them spoke English. I tried to order in Italian and they were kind enough to answer my questions in both Italian and English. Thank you Base V for giving this weary traveler an easy, delicious meal.

Rosalia Salad Gourmet is a healthy and delicious restaurant in Florence, Italy. The menu has a variety of salads, soups, and smoothies, but the main attraction is that you can create your own. The staff was overwhelmed when we arrived 10 minutes before closing, but apart from that the place was clean and the salads were amazing.
Service was good. Very unique menu. I got the rainbow latte, very good. We went here for drinks, but the food looked good!

We loved this place so much that despite all the available trattorias and restaurants we kept going back. Wrap bomb is delicious, fresh ingredients, big portions, homemade dressings, we got salads, juices and smoothies and everything was delicious. In addition my husband left backpack there and they returned it to us the following day which was great. If you want to take a break from pizzas, cheeses and wine go and nourish your body with some fresh goodness go and visit this place, your body will thank you. Staff is very friendly. We will be back.

A beautiful business with great variety of healthy options. Personally I found a yogurt bowl with cereal granola and some fruit for 6.50 euros too expensive. In fact, I have gone to another Rosalia, and that was not the price for a yogurt bowl with cereal granola. Sure it did not have the “some fruit,” but it was right under 5 euros. On the menu it said this yogurt bowl with some fruit was supposed to be 5.50 euros. So as a customer, I really appreciate accurate menus or updated menu just so that I know what the price is from the start. Thanks.

My daughter and I chose this place by chance because we felt like having cappuccino and babyccino (whipped milk for children) and we were just walking by. Wow! Amazing and kind staff, beautiful interior and friendly prices. I recommend it to everyone. :-)

Excellent fresh food. Salads are varied and served in large bowls. The avocado salad was packed with goodness. The only problem was the table was too small for the large bowls, teapots and cups! A perfect lunch spot.
Carol K — Google review
Good atmosphere. Cappuccino was ok. #1 Smoothie was TERRIBLE AND INSIPID. Was like water, no flavor, and the paper straw made it so much worse. I took it back and all they could tell me is that’s how they make it; no refund or remake offered. I left it with them. My husbands smoothie was the same but he elected to keep his.DO NOT get your smoothies here. There is another smoothie location around the Dione that uses real fruit ingredients and you get a real tasty smoothie for much less than this place.

Elegant, comfortable and luxury. Food was great. Staff were so respectful, efficient and friendly. The best meal in Florence. The place is a mixtures ow simplicity, elegance and fine dinning. Veal Milanese was one of the best I had. Really nice Brunello wine 🍷

it was truly a beautiful place worth visiting. the service impeccable. I had great expectations for the food. We booked for brunch, and ordered the club sandwich and a glass of rose sparkling wine. The sandwich looked nice but it was cold and you could smell the fried oil used for the egg and the bacon. The disaster was the fried potatoes on the side. You pay 30€ for a plate and they bring you pre-cooked fries?! Finally, the wine list was great!

Atmosphere is classy and elegant, with food to match. Every dish we tried was delicious, as were the cocktails. But the real standout was the service. Reburger, located on Via di Camaldoli, 2R in Florence, is a gem of a place to satisfy your burger cravings. The quality of the meat, buns, and quirky artistic interiors make it stand out. They offer delicious burgers and rosemary fries paired with the best local beer. What sets Reburger apart is their customizable options for burgers where you can choose everything from the meat to the toppings and sauce. The industrial design of the interior adds to its charm.
SOO good. We’ve been in Italy a month and were crazing something other than pasta and pizza. We showed up over a half hour before they even opened and the gentlemen working, Kasey, was beyond kind to us and our kids and allowed us to sit ~ even taking our order a bit early, as well as giving them crayons for entertainment. He was so kind and so was the new girl who started working there that day. The burgers were INCREDIBLE. The sauce - incredible. The fries - incredible. My husband said “I’ll be dreaming of this burger”. Many organic ingredients. 10/10 recommend if you enjoy burgers. They also have Vegan options.

Delicious food with a friendly atmosphere. I’m American and they made some of the best burgers I’ve had. I ordered the Red Evergreen (beet burger) which was delicious. They have nailed their sauces. Highly recommend the onion rings. And definitely check out their other restaurant Spinza for pizza 🍕

We were visiting Florence for the weekend and came twice because we loved it so much. Best burger we’ve ever had. Fries were delicious, home-cut and crispy and came with a yummy homemade tomato sauce. The bun was fresh (they were literally delivering the buns as we were sitting there), the secret sauce in the cheeseburger complimented it nicely, the patty was smashed and tender but had a crispy edge which I’ve never had before but it’s totally my thing. Pickles…epic! We met the owner who is a total legend. Love this business, wish it was our local. Unfortunately we live on the other side of the world. Thanks for having us :)

The Juicy Lucy was cheesy and delicious, and the Smash Burger had perfect crispy edges. Super flavorful, fast service, and great place. Definitely coming back!

Went in with hi hopes and got little disappointed. First they didn't have the Juicy Luicy, because they have to prepare the patties (aren't you supposed to do that before you open?). I had the classic and a make it you own. Both of them were OK, that's it. I'm a burgers freak and believe me you can find better burgers in Florence.
Pablo S — Google review
Went to Reburger today with my girlfriend and a friend during our trip around Italy, and it was great! The whole experience was really fun. They gave us a clearly laid-out sheet where we could choose all our own ingredients to build our own burgers, but there were also some tasty premade options to pick from. Our waiter, Mia, was lovely and really helpful, and the food was cooked perfectly by Chef Samo. All of our burgers came out exactly how we wanted — juicy, full of flavour, and super fresh. It's definitely worth checking out if you love a good burger and want something a bit more interactive than the usual menu. We all loved it and would definitely like to go back.

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was immaculate; trendy, upbeat, and welcoming. You instantly feel like you’ve stepped into a foodie paradise. Now let’s talk BURGERS. 🤤 These weren’t just burgers … they were masterpieces. Perfectly well-done, incredibly juicy, bursting with layers of flavour in every single bite. You can taste the quality and care that goes into each creation. Whether you’re a burger connoisseur or just hungry in Florence, this place will ruin all other burgers for you, in the best way possible 👏 The service? Flawless. Warm, friendly, attentive, and efficient – 10/10 across the board. They made us feel like VIPs. 🌙 And it’s 100% halal! For anyone looking for incredible halal food in Florence, this is the spot. 💸 Worth. Every. Penny. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. The cozy spot is known for its delicious pancakes, veggie burger, sweet potato fries and fried chicken & waffles. What a great place. Bobbie our server was so helpful and friendly. Everything was delicious with generous servings. Would definitely go back!

We had veggie omelette, chicken waffle, and avocado toast with smoked salmon. The food was great. They said they don’t use salt but it wasn’t a big problem. The staff lady who does the most work was so lovely and nice. We had a small conversation with her too. The other guy had a bad attitude and did not seem to be working much too. At the end of the meal we had a complimentary cheesecake from the chef which was also delicious. Overall very good experience.

I'm stunned - just truly mind blown. Really difficult to put these feelings into words, but here it goes: This is a place, that doesn't just offer you great customer service, but a whole customer experience. Everything begins with the warmest welcome I've ever experienced. The owner greets everyone in the queue, takes your name to call you when your table is ready, and the most amazing part: every member in the staff including the owner, remembers you and welcomes you back with open arms, even offers to carry your luggage in case you have any. The waitress is just the loveliest at her job, her smile and positivity is just so contagious that it feels like there's something magical there. Talk about magic, the owner also came to our table and showed us a fun little magic trick while pouring our drinks. The staff also played a happy birthday song from the speakers for a customer celebrating their birthday. The bartender even complimented my 'stache — never hurts to spread some love, so grazie mille, bella. Everything the staff does here, just makes you feel like you belong there — like you're part of one big happy family. The menu is very well put-together. On our first visit we had pancakes and some fresh juice; the second time we went for the french toast and the chicken cutlet burger with sweet potato fries — Mamma mia, buonissimo! 😮‍💨 To top it all off, they even have the dopest feel-good tunes on their music playlist which just perfectly completes the groovy and joyful vibe. Congratulazioni a Firenze e all’Italia, Rooster Cafe Firenze è un capolavoro. Un sentito grazie a tutto il personale. ❤️

Absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant! The balsamic steak was incredibly delicious — perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with rich, savory flavor complemented by a tangy-sweet balsamic glaze. I also had the strawberry wine, which was light, fruity, and refreshingly unique — a perfect pairing with the meal. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the service truly stood out. We heard about this from another group and they were right. Great food, atmosphere, and service. The blueberry sauce is good, can be a little sweet, but a wonderful steak. We went for the pasta sampler and if you do this you must come hungry! It was a lot of food. Reasonably priced too.
Vic H — Google review
A friend who comes from Florence recommended this place, and this has got to be the best recommendation I've ever recieved. Of course, I tried the blueberry steak. It's unique and the name sounds fun, but the flavour is also excellent. Not too sweet, and somehow they've made it so that the blueberry sauce compliments the steak perfectly. I also tried the gnudi - a typical Tuscan first course - and it was just as good. Plus, the house wine is a perfect compliment to both. The atmosphere is very nice. Went for lunch, and was one of only three tables present. So, I don't know if it gets crowded for dinner, but I also know that my tour guide didn't have this place on the list he shared, so it might be under-the-radar from most tourists. Also, there was a TV monitor with a view of the kitchen, which was pretty cool to see. You can tell that the staff (very courteous) take a lot of pride in the food they serve. I would **highly** recommend this place to anyone in Florence. They also have a location in Annapolis, Maryland, USA, so I plan to visit it one day!

Babe, it slays. The meat carpaccio? Paper-thin perfection — delicate, decadent, and dangerously addictive. The meat pasta? Rich and sinful, like it knows it’s the star. And the truffle pasta? Please. Pure, creamy drama on a plate. The whole vibe screams, “I’m in Italy, living my best life, and carbs don’t count.” In short: this isn’t dinner — it’s a serve. 💅🍝🔥

We visited on a recommendation from family and were not disappointed! We had a fantastic meal. My started with a pasta sampler that we shared (all dishes were amazing) and then my wife and I each had the steak sampler. It was hard to decide which steak tasted better, the blueberry or the balsamic ... both were perfect and you wouldn't be disappointed with either ... so get both!!! Unfortunately we ate the steaks before grabbing a picture!

TLDR Good food, mediocre service. Would give them another chance to redeem themselves. We came on the recommendation of a friend who studied abroad here. She highly recommended the blueberry steak. Reservations Easy to make. I was able to make a same-day reservation on a weekday for dinner through their website about an hour and a half before our desired reservation time. It took about 20 minutes to receive confirmation of my reservation via email. Please note you do need show the email confirmation when you show up. When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was just about to open and there were 2 other parties already waiting outside. We probably waited 5 minutes total. We did have to show the email confirmation of our reservation. Service Service was initially good. Then, we discovered mid-meal when the manager was was taking away one of our plates that our second order (my order) of blueberry steak was never placed. We had ordered everything together with our server. By the time we learned that our second order of blueberry steak hadn’t been ordered initially, my boyfriend was almost finished with his. We later saw the manager talk to our server, presumably about the error in our order. We decided to go ahead and order it anyway. When the manager brought it out, he mumbled an apology to us. To make matters worse, my fork had been taken away so I couldn’t even eat my steak while it was hot from the kitchen. It took another 5 minutes to flag down staff to get a new fork (it was busy and the staff seemed to have tunnel vision). Sadly, by the time I got a fork, my steak was a bit too cooked than I wanted—more medium than medium rare—and also cool. I was actually really looking forward to trying this dish, and unfortunately, this whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. Truth be told, I expected a covert and genuine apology or possibly a small token gesture from the establishment. However, that was not the case. Food Overall, the food was good. My boyfriend loved the food (and had a great experience). My impression of the food would have been better had I actually been able to enjoy it simultaneously with my boyfriend! In my honest opinion, the blueberry steak reminded me of the flavor profile of sweet and sour pork. In terms of drinks, the strawberry wine was very dangerous—it tasted like strawberry soda and I couldn’t taste the alcohol at all! Ambience Plates on the walls decorated by lots of celebrities with appropriate mood lighting.

This was the best meal I’ve had In Florence and maybe even ever. 10/10. The blueberry steak was unreal and cooked perfectly we couldn’t stop talking about it. The pasta sampler is a MUST and all five were so good we even ordered another plate of the ravioli that was stuffed with spinach and cheese topped with pomegranate and Avacado. The desert sampler was amazing too. Super cute inside and nice unique booths. Staff was so nice too!! Definitely recommend a reservation because sometimes they may be too busy for a walk in!!

We came here for the blueberry steak from a friend’s recommendation who studied in Florence. I’ve never experienced anything like it, very unique. Yes, it is great. Highly recommend. My wife had the tortelli gigantic con ricotta, spinaci, avocado and she said it was fantastic, very flavorful. Service was pretty good, our server enjoyed and was playful with our baby which is always welcoming as parents. Would appreciate a little more communication when ordering(we forgot to order drinks initially) and paying the bill/leaving. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and would go back. Very nice establishment.

L'Antica Cantina del Chianti is a charming spot located next to the Duomo in Florence. Visitors have praised the prompt and courteous service, as well as the accommodating menu that caters to dietary restrictions with delicious gluten-free and vegan options. The outdoor and indoor seating provides a great view of the cathedral and Brunelleschi's dome. Guests have enjoyed a variety of food options, including vegetarian lasagna, which was described as one of the best ever tasted.
Stopped here for lunch after our tour of The Academia and climb to Brunelleschi’s Dome . We specifically wanted paste with truffle sauce- it did not disappoint!! Atmosphere and service was delightful and servers spoke English (also menu in English). This is also a wine shop that offers wine tastings- we may try this out later! Highly recommend!

Great place! We just visited it for the drinks and we were very satisfied. The location is fantastic, it is possible to enjoy a pizza or a drink while admiring the Duomo. The happy hour for drinks was unbeatable. Highly recommended.

Great spot behind the cathedral Duomo, fantastic Papardelle w ragu from wild-boar. Skip wine di casa and try real Chianti. Very nice old waiter. Good place for lunch and relax. Money worth to spend. Autumn time mostly in shade. Grazie

Outstanding Service, Delicious Food, and Great Aperol Spritz at L'Antica Cantina del Chianti We had a wonderful experience at L'Antica Cantina del Chianti. The food was absolutely delicious – the seafood pasta was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor, and the gnocchi with meat sauce was simply outstanding, tender, and rich in taste. To complete the experience, we enjoyed refreshing Aperol Spritz cocktails, perfectly balanced and served cold, which made our lunch even more enjoyable under the Florentine sun. The atmosphere is cozy and the outdoor seating allows you to enjoy the charming streets of Florence while you dine. What truly made our visit exceptional was the service. Ana is by far the kindest, fastest, and most attentive waitress we met in Florence, Italy. She made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, was always smiling, and provided excellent recommendations. Thanks to her, our meal was even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious local food, great drinks, and outstanding service!

Trattoria Da Ruggero is a rustic Tuscan restaurant located just outside the city walls beyond Porta Romana in Florence. It's a bit of a walk from the Ponte Vecchio, but well worth it for an authentic dining experience. The handwritten menus offer classic Tuscan dishes such as liver pate, spicy tomato pasta, and slow-roasted pork loin with seasonal vegetables.
My husband and I loved this restaurant SO much when we were in Florence that we ended up going a second time. The best meal we had in Florence by far. The staff were lovely and very welcoming, and we felt right at home. Highly recommend!
Sarah K — Google review
We came to the restaurant based on our host’s recommendation, and we weren’t disappointed. The food was excellent—the pasta dishes were not the typical tourist options like Carbonara or Bolognese, and the service was also outstanding. What did spoil the experience a bit was the house white wine served by the glass—I strongly advise against ordering it. It’s a shame that such a detail slightly diminished an otherwise great impression.

A perfect lunch. Walked in as a party of one at 2PM and had the most charming & delicious lunch. Simple, well cooked food paired with warm and easy service.

Maximum old school cool. Now *this* is a proper trattoria. One waiter, one bartender. They cut bread with a fixed knife lever board and the prosciutto with a ham slicer. Food is home cooked, simple, and delicious. Get the vino santi dessert and an espresso to stumble home warm and smiling. Great for taking parents or a date.

Simple, rustic charm. Full of lots of local families, always a good sign. The tomato pasta was simply the best pasta dish we have ever tasted anywhere in Italy - looked and tasted too good that we forgot to photograph before tucking in! The food looks so simple but the quality and flavour is excellent. REALLY good value too - because it's a bit outside of the main area and on the South side of the river which is generally better quality and value anyway as it's less touristy. Must book in advance. Well worth the effort - 20 min stroll from river.
Clare W — Google review
A friend encouraged us to try this spot ~20 min walk from Ponte Vecchio - well worth the travel. Was my favorite meal I had in all of Italy. Fresh, hot, homemade - the staff kindly split the dishes into two portions for us: we shared the caprese salad 🤌🏻🤌🏻 molto bene freshest tomatoes and basil, ragu tortellini pasta (can’t stop thinking about this) and meatballs. Had cheesecake for dessert it was to die for. Highly highly recommend. Friendly servers, truly felt like an authentic home cooked meal. Affordable for so much food + bottle of wine. A must go while in Florence! Call to make a reservation because it gets busy! Great local spot.

If you find yourself in Florence, do yourself a favor and book a table here! This is genuine, friendly, simple but unbelievably good food. Not your typical tourist trap but a proper trattoria. Venezuelan restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Florence's historic center, Raices Latin Food is a culinary gem that brings authentic Mexican and Venezuelan flavors to life. This vibrant eatery offers a mouthwatering selection of dishes, including their standout tacos de birria and enchiladas, which are reminiscent of taquitos due to their firm tortillas. Guests rave about the thick chips paired with fresh guacamole, making for an irresistible appetizer.
I got the pork tacos and they were soooo gooooood! My daughter ordered the birria tacos and they were also good. The habareno sauce was spicy and went well with the tacos. My son got the burrito and said it was alright, and my husband ordered the chicken bowl and it was very good. I also ordered a margarita and it was too sweet with a few ice cubes but the tacos made up for it.
Cindy W — Google review
We waited until dinner to eat at Raices. When we popped in at lunch that day they were full with a 45 minute wait. The atmosphere is OK, but the music was a bit loud. Comfortable inside seating is available, however it seemed to us this was really focused on takeaway and delivery orders. At the counter, we ordered Mexican and were very disappointed, because we expected the style of Mexican food that we ate in California for over 40 years. Realizing the style was different, we kept an open mind. We felt the servings were very small for the price charged. A taco was made with dry carnitas that had some sort of brown sauce on them. There was a sprinkling of cilantro and were served on a very small (street-sized) corn tortilla. The tortilla was also dry. Some cheese would have been nice. We wish we had tried the Venezuelan food which we heard later was excellent. The menu has a nice variety of dishes and beverages, both Mexican and Venezuelan. Everything is served in takeaway containers and cutlery. Not much care was taken with the presentation. I really disliked the Styrofoam plate and plastic fork. Also, the beer was served in plastic cups. Because we were in Florence on business, chances are we won't return. Reservations for lunch are recommended.

I got the rib eye. It was good but didn't have the smoky grilled flavor of other bistecca"s. Cooked great though. My partner got bolognese which was excellent. The staff was attentive and courteous. Overall great vibe and service

Il Palagio is a luxurious dining destination located in the iconic Four Seasons hotel. The flagship Michelin-starred restaurant offers an elegant and sophisticated experience with its neoclassical decor. Executive Chef Paolo Lavezzini curates inventive Tuscan dishes using top-quality natural ingredients from small producers, adding a contemporary twist to regional cuisine. Guests can indulge in tasting menus served in the opulent hotel dining room or on a charming garden terrace.
It’s been a week since my visit to Il Palagio and Im still struggling to put the experience into words. Working in the restaurant industry, I was searching for something extraordinary and Il Palagio delivered beyond my expectations. The tasting menu we took was a masterclass in precision and storytelling, with flavours and presentation that stood out across my entire two week trip in Italy. Special thanks to Manuel, whose warm service elevated the evening even further along with his wonderful colleagues who made the entire experience for us unforgettable. If you are in Florence run to Il Palagio. It’s not just dinner, but a memory!! Extra points for the exceptional cocktails at the bar right next to the restaurant, but that’s a review for another time... Best regards, until next time!

My first time in Florence and this place added laurels to this city profoundly! Having been to so many Michelin rated restaurants I wasn't as keen after a long journey; still it exceeded my expectations. The service and the atmosphere are good as one would expect in a high end restaurant, not much to add here except I found them to be one of the politest in comparison to my experiences from Europe and the US. I picked the "Gherardesca" Tasting Menu mainly because I wanted to try risotto and pasta from the selections. Every single of the 12 (more additions besides the tasting menu) offerings were sensationally delivered. The Amuse-bouche was probably one of the best. Few dishes that stood out were the risotto (beautifully tangy), the cockerel agnolotti (with truffle and divine al dente pasta) and the Lamb (gorgeous sear on the meat) were exquisite. The desserts were good as well, though I feel adding too many raspberries adds excessive sourness to the dessert which isn't my favourite. I often noticed that most Michelin star places are somehow repetitive with almost identical (french) flavours, but not this one. It stayed true to it's Italian roots and flavours...and that is commendable! Definitely recommend for anyone hoping to get the best of Italian cuisine.

Dinner at il Palagio located at the Four Seasons Florence by Chef Paolo Lavezzini is a 1 star michelin.. left us so confused between brilliant taste with the amuse bouche, beetroot starter, dessert and unpalatable mains with the sea bass fish - sea bass Wellington!! Referred in the menu as crusted sea bass, we thought just crisp skin 😆😆, lamb, gnocchi.. overall 2/10 and wouldn’t recommend it.
Alya — Google review
We dined at Il Palagio, the Michelin one starred restaurant located within the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze, to experience their renowned tasting menu. Having been underwhelmed by other Michelin experiences in the past, I approached this meal with cautious optimism. However, Il Palagio exceeded all expectations. The ambiance was both elegant and inviting, reflecting the restaurant's setting in the historic Palazzo della Gherardesca. We also had breakfast at this restaurant while staying at the Four Seasons, which was fantastic, as well. I started with a gin martini with twist. So yummy. We chose the Gherardesca tasting menu, a culinary journey inspired by the hotel's private garden. I won't even begin to talk about how beautiful the garden is. :) The menu featured dishes that showcased the chef's ability to blend traditional Tuscan flavors with innovative techniques. Notably, an appetizer incorporated Kimchi, seamlessly integrating this element into the dish's flavor profile. As a Korean, I found this a nice touch, personally. It was a 6-course meal, but they offered multiple appetizers so it felt like a 9 or 10 course meal. Each course, from the amberjack fish to the lamb, was meticulously prepared and presented, highlighting the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Unlike previous Michelin experiences, every dish here was actually both delicious and satisfying. While we did not opt for the full wine pairing, the sommelier provided excellent recommendations that complemented our meal perfectly. The staff's attentiveness and knowledge further enhanced our dining experience. Il Palagio offered a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, making it a standout choice for those seeking a memorable dining experience in Florence. The service was so nice. Super attentive, friendly, and proactive. The manager later stopped by to talk to us and offered some chocolates. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in exceptional cuisine within a historic and refined setting.
Joon P — Google review
The presentation was refined and the venue stunning, also very good service, but the overall taste and execution of the dishes left us puzzled. Some ingredients, like the broad beans, seemed undercooked—possibly intentional, but it didn’t resonate with us.
ALBEE S — Google review
This was my first Michelin-starred restaurant, and it was a great experience. I tried the tasting menu called Le Spezie della Regina. The meal began with bread, homemade butters, and olive oil. They explained that each month highlights a new veggie and this month was radish. The radish was broken down and each part of seasoned differently. Then the tasting menu began. Each plate was beautifully presented, and I tried so many different things, like vegetable charcoal and cuttlefish. My favorite dish was the pasta - it had such a depth of flavor that it definitely stands out. There was also a small palate cleanser before the dessert which was a radish sorbet. That one small bite was incredible! It might have been my favorite bite of the whole night. The dish that felt like an oversight was the cheese course. While not every dish was my favorite or stands out, flavors were interesting and different and it was a fun food journey to go on. While I expected the service to be of a high standard, it went above and beyond. The staff was helpful and explained each dish and at the same time were not overbearing. The atmosphere in general was really lovely and it was nice that the restaurant was not overpacked.
