They have a large variety of flavors but I stuck with the classics like chocolate and my favorite pistachio. The ice cream was rich and creamy and full of flavor. There's a few places to sit but it's pretty crowded inside so it's best to take your order to go.

Simply the best gelato I had in Florence. While most gelato places here are excellent, this one stands out and feels like a must-try. I had the Cheesecake alla Fragola (incredible), Crema Buontalenti, and Fior di Latte…all smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. My wife tried Passionfruit, Fig with Ricotta (delicious), and the star of the night: Caramel Neri, a dulce de leche-style flavor that was absolutely unforgettable. Gelateria dei Neri is an absolute must-visit for any gelato lover in Florence (the birthplace of gelato!). Their quality is top-tier, and the flavors are incredibly rich. The pistachio here is one of the very best I have tried. My only regret was choosing After-Eight (mint with chocolate) as my second scoop instead of another nut or chocolate flavor, which seems to be where they truly excel. Next time, I am absolutely trying one of their chocolate flavors! As an added bonus, they offer comfortable indoor, air- conditioned seating where you can enjoy gelato comfortably, especially under the sweltering heat of summer. And there's also a clean restroom (WC). Really worth the stop and one of my favorites after my 18-day gelato journey throughout Italy. ❤️

Popped in for a quick gelato after dinner on a Thursday night around 10pm. The line was short, the service was friendly and the gelato was absolutely delicious. Hard to find back gelato in Italy, but my husband really loved their hazelnut and pistachio gelato flavors.

I’ve been to Florence multiple times and this gelato is hands down the best there is in Italy. I can’t find any that’s better. Getting some late at night and hanging out on the bridge is a great experience. The price is unbeatable too.

One of the best gelato in Florence—and that's saying a lot. Being the birthplace of gelato, Florence has a lot of venerable gelateria and La Carraia is definitely one of them. The gelato had just the right level of creaminess, sweetness, and texture. What surprised me the most is the generous serving! My only regret was that I chose only two flavors, I should have gotten three or four. 😋

It’s been 15 years since I ate here and boy has it become more popular with tourists. This was a locals spot but has expanded its speed and efficiency . The chocolate mousse gelato was incredible. I let others try my cafe flavored one’s and they thought it was outstanding. Highly recommended. Don’t go to the tourist traps. Go to where the locals go.

Found this gelateria by the canal offering some vegan flavours (but no vegan cones). The quantity of Gelato they serve for the price (compared to similar places in the area) is absolutely worth it! The dark chocolate was rich and indulgent! The texture if their Gelato was also very enjoyable! Highly recommend!

visited Vivoli and really enjoyed the dessert—the presentation was beautiful, topped with plenty of pistachios, and the flavor was rich and delicious. The atmosphere felt authentic and the staff were friendly. We were able to find a table. However, the prices were on the expensive side, so it may not be the best option if you're looking for something budget-friendly. Still, it's a nice place to try a traditional treat in Florence.

Vivoli is an amazing gelato spot! The gelato is incredibly creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The flavors are classic but perfectly executed, and every bite is a delight. The shop is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect stop for a sweet treat. Definitely one of the best gelato experiences I’ve had.

YUP! This one's good. I dont normally give 5 star reviews because places need to wow me, but the affogato here really wowed me. I don't normally drink coffee, I dont even really like espresso but I will eat desserts with coffee in it. The creamy Gelato mixed with the espresso was such a nice combination. My avid coffee drinking friend did say it was on the sweeter side and she likes it less sweet, a note for those who like it less sweet. The Gelato here was good too!

After being disappointed by a viral sandwich shop the day before, we were a little hesitant about trying Vivoli, but it totally lived up to the hype. We decided to go right when they opened at 8am thinking a) there won't be a line and b) affogato counts as breakfast because there is coffee in it. Well joke was on us because there was already a line formed when we arrived on Friday morning at 8:05am. Once they opened the doors the line moved quickly and we were elbow deep in caffeine and gelato by 8:20am. There is a small seating area in the back but that filled up pretty much right away so we enjoyed our affogato while standing outside. Both flavors were good but the pistachio is an absolute must in my opinion.

We loved the pistachio affogato! Classic was good too but preferred the salty nutty flavour with the sweet vanilla gelato. Great location across from a Ukrainian Catholic Church which was playing some lovely music. We enjoyed a coffee sitting on the curb on the street with everyone else. Was a pleasant atmosphere.

Vivoli Gelato absolutely lives up to its reputation. Their affogato is on another level rich, smooth espresso poured over incredibly creamy gelato. The balance of flavors is perfect, and you can tell everything is made with real Italian quality. It’s a simple dessert, but here it tastes unforgettable.

Shopkeeper recommended Rice and Almond Biscotti for 2 Distri (4 Euros), which was very delicious. Subtle flavour and not too strong. Rice is slightly chewy as there's rice inside. Just the right sweetness for a refreshing afternoon snack.

The first thing I do when I start researching our vacation spots is look for the best gelato/ice cream shops. My husband is obsessed with gelato so I like to find the best spots for him to test out. We ate a lot of delicious gelato when we were in Florence and have been to plenty of outstanding shops all over the world. My husband said this was hands down the best gelato he has ever had. His go to flavors are hazelnut and pistachio and they were both incredibly creamy with a depth of flavor that was truly remarkable. The chocolate cherry gelato was also a personal favorite. Cannot recommend this spot enough!

This was our favorite gelato stop in all of Florence! The staff is super friendly and allowed us to sample one flavor per person as we were making our decisions. We loved how the flavors change on the daily and they incorporate local seasonal ingredients to create the best gelato. Some of our favorite flavors were pumpkin, pear, pistachio, and banana with orange and nutmeg. The texture of the gelato is just right as it is so creamy but doesn’t melt all over your hand right away. When visiting this place, you can expect to wait in line. We went twice and one time we waited 20+ minutes and the other time was only about 5 minutes. The wait will be totally worth your time, as the gelato is delicious!

Ice cream is quite good and nice choices, very hygienic and clean. Service friendliness is average and asking for money ahead of ordering is a bit alienating. Was ok once, but not worth to come back.

We got the ricotta strawberry and the persimmon. They were both good but I regret not getting the chestnut one since there were soft candied chestnuts in the chestnut one You could tell they use real ingredients here. The persimmon one felt like I was just eating a persimmon that's been frozen and sorbeted

Glad to have happened on this place. Big and interesting selection of flavours, professional service and a timeless interior. Three of us ordered entirely different flavours and everyone ended up raving about their own selection, which shows that the standards are very high. I can’t speak to what everyone else got, but whenever the subject of gelato comes up for at least the next six months, you can guarantee I will be fan-boying about the yogurt and candied ginger (yogurt allo zenzero). This place is really good! They have a great range of the usual and unusual flavors. Their prices are very low compared to some other famous gelateria in florence.

Delicious gelato, really good price, good portions, we had gelato every single day during our stay in Florence, meaning 9 nights in a row and tried all flavors, a medium cone with 3 flavors cost €2.80 the only down side is the ladies at the counter are not that Patience and not really nice, on the other side the guys are very professional, patience and kind.

I was recommended to try Perche No by a book I read before visiting Florence, advising against showy gelaterias and suggesting trying artisanal businesses with fresher ingredients and more inventive flavours than you would find in supermarkets. I think I went to Perche No three times in all, very handy location between the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. Yes, small selection but probably fresher than other places! I was intrigued by flavours such as "rice" (?!) and "florentine cake" and sorbets such as "fig". One of the biggest surprises was the price - I tried 2 flavours each time and in a 3 Euro cup that was still only 3 Euros! If you want a huge cone, you can probably have that too, I just stuck to the cups and trying unusual flavours! Friendly helpful staff.

Excellent gelato. They had a sesame honey crunch that was amazing. They added honey and a crunchy sesame topping before serving. I haven't had anything like it.

Queue to lick in 12 minutes 5pm Sunday. Pistachio and Thai papaya. Not only the highest rated, highest award, most decorated, but authentic and cheap gelato (cheapest I found and short queue) I used the wooden stool after. Tiny place. WiFi too I cracked a couple of jokes in Italian which have worked elsewhere and spoke Italian to place my order but she didn't laugh, eek! Genuine gelato shouldn't make you thirsty after... It didn't (perhaps unlike mango gelato I had in Siena!)

Night time stop at yet another gelato place. This time I had their affogato (gelato with coffee) with cream on top. The gelato, of course, makes this Italian affogato better than what you would find in the US and yes definitely a must try is you are a coffee and a gelato lover.

One of the best ice cream shops in Florence. Fresh and artisanal ice creams from La Sorbettiera that has now other venues spread all over Florence. I really appreciate the fact that they have few flavours that change over the different seasons with just very few flavours always proposed, such as hazelnut and pistachio. I got a medium tub with hazelnut, pistachio and catrame (dark chocolate). Tasty and authentic flavours not overwhelming in terms of sweetness. Staff really nice and kind. I highly recommend this place. It is always a pleasure to visit this and the other venues.

Delicious Gelato!!! I was looking for a sweet treat but wanted to find a place that had the gelato covered in containers and not all fluffed on display! This was the place and there are many vegan options including CHOCOLATE gelato!!

The gelato here is fairly priced, but the quality is unremarkable. If you’re simply craving something cold and sweet, it gets the job done, but don’t expect anything extraordinary or memorable.

I would say Il Procopio is really one or the best ice-cream parlour you can find in Florence! I went there several times and was never disappointed with the taste and quality of their flavours and cone, neither was I with the staff’s professional kindness. :))

The best gelato I had in Italy by tenfold! The pistachio is salty, sweet, nutty (of course), and so utterly creamy. I went back every day I was in Florence and I’m still dreaming of it. Such an amazing array of flavours. The croissants were average - nothing amazing. Reduced a star as the server did a sloppy job with my cone order (it was falling off the cone). Surely my favourite and best gelateria and pasticceria along the Via Dei Mille, just 2 minutes walk from Artemio Franchi, Fiorentina Stadium. From a chilling breakfast with wide selections of pastry (my favourite is Budino di Riso) and well made cappucino to artigianale lunch, try some menus and you will understand why I said artigianale - Anyway I attached many pictures of what I have tried in Badiani. Do not miss the legendary gelato with my favourite taste are buontalenti, dolce vita, and cremino pistachio. Clean and nice place is another plus point. I recommend this place as a MUST visit gelateria pasticceria when you are in Florence. The comprehensive good quality of taste cleanliness and services deserve 5 stars rating from me. Another plus point is the hospitality, especially from the owner Filippo, who always very friendly and warm welcome every customer with smile.

Oh this gelato was divine. Very affordable price for such good quality gelato. I ordered a small cone and was allowed to have 2 scoops (they were very generous in their scoops too) for around €3. I loved the stracciatella - every mouthful was full of chocolate bits, and the strawberry sorbet - not too sweet, not too tangy, refreshing all around. 11/10 would recommend and I would love to go back for more!!

Flavors on 1,000 and so creamy. They must have a Flavor Wizard on staff because not one of the other gelaterias I tried could match their intensity. PLEASE do yourself a favor and go here. Had gelato here, really liked the flavours. The place is close the to cathedral, the ordering system is Preet straightforward, that is you just pay for the cone and you get whatever flavours you want for your gelato. We had pistachio + hazelnut and strawberry and chocolate, they were very very tasty but since it was 35 degrees, it started melting in no time and we had to finish it quickly instead of enjoying it slowly. So I recommend getting a cup if you’re going in summers. There’s no seating, that was a bit disappointing, so we had to sit on the road eating this and making a mess of ourselves in this heat. But overall a great place!

Very good gelato, but expensive. I came to Florence from Kaunas (Lithuania) and now after having gelato in some of the legendary spots I can say with pride and relief that it’s not too different from what we have in Kaunas (to locals, I’m talking about Angolo Italiano of course). Anyway I had pistachio gelato, it was rich and smooth and creamy, very very good. Grom was the best gelato I had in Florence.

The gelato itself was really delicious but the gentleman working there was so rude, I couldn’t fully enjoy the flavors. He wasn’t just passively rude, or just a little unfriendly. He was actively in a very bad mood and clearly taking it out on us. I know that working in that area might become exhausting with tourists that don’t understand the local manners, and with language barriers. Maybe he was just having a bad day… but it seems like there are several other reviews commenting on his attitude. It’s a very cute small shop but the service is very quick. Highly recommended for the dessert lovers. You cannot get over of this place.

Love the quality of their gelato! I ordered their seasonal pumpkin with chocolate chip- it’s sweet and a bit savory + mango. So good!! The servers were patient and kind and spoke good English. Best gelato in Florence! Creamy and delicious, the ingredients are clearly of the highest quality (I also love to know that everything is organic!) I read a couple of reviews about the price, but the extra euro or two compared to nearby shops is worth it for the organic ingredients and the quality of the gelato. I was able to try two flavors before ordering. The salted pistacchio isn’t too salty and it’s delicious. The dark chocolate is creamy and not too sweet, and the nocciola and cannella are classic delicious flavors.

The classic crepe was amazing. Filled with dark chocolate and hazelnuts. The batter was perfectly cooked and didn’t break even with the hot chocolate being added to it. The chocolate chip gelato was amazing and so was the cone that came with it.

This is the first time I’ve had the cannoli prepared in front of me. It was of course the best one I’ve ever had, being from Ohio, but still travel often. The gelato was my wife’s favorite (pistachio), but I’m sure they’re all fantastic. I’m guessing we’ll get it once more before leaving.

Best place to have granita to remind you of Sicilian flavours and summers. My favourites are the almond, cafè, gelsomino. If you want an authentic granita in Florence this is the place, the others are imitation and there is in art in making granita. Key is quality ingredients, temperature and made with passion.

Of all the gelaterie in Firenze, Sbrino is an absolute must. Authentic gelato is stored in traditional pozzetti (covered tins), with a perfectly balanced sweetness that allows the natural flavors to shine. It’s dense, smooth, and creamy, exactly as gelato should be. The pistacchio is a standout: rich, nutty, and unforgettable.

This is the best dairy product I have had in my whole life. The flavors are extremely fresh -- it's clear that they hand make everything on site because of the metal containers they have the gelato in. You can see the small bits of fresh mint and taste the crunch of raspberries each flavor, even the unconventional ones like egg cream, was perfectly balanced. There is no parallel.. The price is very reasonable as well (€3/small cup).

Sadly I got a tiny ice cream for an absurd amount of 3,30€ whilst my Italian friend got an ice cream pretty much double the size for 20 cents more. Don’t really understand why we were treated so differently… the ice itself was good though, hence 2 instead of 1 star…

Excellent gelato! Beautiful texture. Flavours are nice and many experimental. Melon was nice (wish it was fraction sweeter), lime/mint/ginger was great and goes nicely with the sweet cioccolato. Mordilatte was neutral, I think maybe it is overpowered by most flavours so I couldn't really taste it. There are some alcohol flavours, so do ask before, and the server will assist. Local place so it's not large, but has cute outdoor seating for community. Locals are lucky to have a taste gelato place!

They have so much chocolate here! There's no sitting area here, so take note that it's more of a grab and go location, whether packed chocolates or their hot chocolate in a cup. Unlike the more commercial Venchi or Stratti, this feels a little more nonna-style, more local. The location probably also gave it away that they're not as centrally located. Price points are reasonable, like everyone else. That said, it's one of those spots that in my humble opinion, is worth while dropping by if you're in the area, but not something that I'd intentionally go out of the way for.

This is a chocolate shop that sell chocolate bar, praline, gelato and hot chocolate too. I tried their pistachio, cioccolato fondente all’arancia(dark chocolate with orange), and cioccolato fondente gelato 🍨 My favourite is cioccolato fondente all’arancia 🍫🍊🫶🏻. I also bought their praline too (they have a lot of unique chocolate praline variants)that taste good 🤤

Judging by the other adjacent businesses that we loved (restaurant and cafe) we thought this would also be good to try. All I can say is the portions were small and the price was high. I thought the short-haired lady really was stingy on the portions for what I paid, and it really made me so mad I didn’t really care if it was good or not. The best place I have found in Italy/France for the best price/portion ratio and decent quality is Amorino, which is a chain. The locally owned shops are stingy especially around the tourist areas.

This is the real deal!!! Everything tasted so fresh and pure and sweet and creamy and amazing. I was so sad to just get a small. Loved that the cannoli shells were not stuffed. That is the sign of a good bakery. They have to be filled to order so the shell stays crispy.

Great gelato, with strong flavours. We got one scoop of Lemon, Dark Chocolate and Pistachio each, and they all had very distinct tastes. I think the Lemon flavour will taste exceptional during the hot summer weather.

I found this place while going to see Michelangelo’s David, and I’m so glad I did. Their gelato is so good, and they have great customer service. The first time I got their clementine & orange and mixed berries, which I hadn’t seen offered in other gelato places. Both were delicious! Their clementine & orange is my favorite gelato flavor I tried on my whole trip. So much so that when I went back to check out the Medici Chapel, I made sure to stop by and try clementine & orange again, but this time with strawberry and lemon. Again, delicious!

Amazing affogato. We had four different flavors and they all tied for 1st place! Quaint location and friendly service. Just three minute walk from the more famous Florence gelateria, there was no wait and the best ice cream in the trip. Would go here again every time!

As we had just got here from San Gimignano, we wanted to compare gelatos. This place, in our opinion, was much better. As the lines were smaller and the service much more personalized, this helped us to try a few flavours and make more of an ‘unrushed’ choice. Visited this place based on online recommendations, but I’d suggest skipping it. Surprisingly, there was no queue — which probably should’ve been a sign. The staff was rude. I tried the arancini ball: it was cold, tasted just okay, and cost €3.90. Definitely not worth the price or the stop.

I ordered 1 spinach filled and a classic arancini which I was told was filled with eggplant. The spinach was by far my favorite and while they were still slightly warm, it would have been perfect had they come freshly made or toasted in the over for maximum crispiness. The second to my surprise, was filled with a type of fish, not eggplant. It was still tasty but not what I was expecting. Service was okay, but it was near the end of the day and their eagerness to welcome customers or address their questions felt lacking. Overall, I was happy that I stopped by and would recommend visiting this little shop.

The squid ink arancino was beautifully flavoured if somewhat high on salt. The cake too was delicious but a bit high on sugar. The pistachio and ricotta ice cream was simply excellent.

Vowed to have a gelato in florence, it feels like one should. Randomly picked this place. Had choc mint and cheesecake ice cream in a tub. Does not sound like would go but was divine. Bellisimo. Omg thought would eat a bit and chuck because too many calories. Ate whole tub. Thick like a New York cheesecake with strong, juicy cherries and big bits of chocolate in the mint choc. My head is now turned to gelato despite the damage to the waistline. If you want gelato no question. This is the place to go on a mission to find. Think around 6 euros but could be wrong cannot quite tell from payments in app.

A good selection of ice creams made by the shop. I was disappointed that they didn't have caramel which is my personal favourite. However there was still a good variety to chose from. I would however say that scoops were not as generous this time than they have been in the past. This was commented on by a number of people!

The first salesman didn't wanted to serve us because we are no native speakers. His colleague spoke english with us. Cool place for self serve gelato (soft serve type) in a fun place. Colorful Leon candies drew us in to the store and we bought crazy amount of candies as gifts. They gave us tasting of lavender color candies and it was delicious! Self serve gelato was sold by weight and looked delicious. It was nice to escape from heat since the place was air conditioned. I was just walking on the street trying to find some healthy gelato in a calm environment and just found this amazing spot. I had a few minutes before our tour left the city and stepped in her randomly. This place was recommended to us by my daughter. 12-15 minute walk from The Duoma and with the streets more open there was a very pleasant breeze. The food was delicious . I was told that this is traditional Sicilian food so went for those dishes.

She spoke Spanish and English with me because my italian was not so good. Meri brought us delicious antipastos and her service was attentive.
