A lovely local café managed by a group of women who really know what they’re doing! They offer a huge variety of sweets—everything from traditional pastries to unique desserts—and all of them are high quality and super tasty. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and the atmosphere feels warm and personal. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The only thing to keep in mind is that the place is small, so there aren’t many seats. But if you’re lucky enough to find a spot, it’s the perfect place to relax with a coffee and something sweet. Definitely recommended!
PegiTa ( — Google review
Delicious pastries and lovely coffee and so cheap at around €1.40 each. Family run and has been around a long time so well worth a visit before jetting off on your travels!
Jason W — Google review
Everything here is absolutely delicious! 😍 All the pastries we tried were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made — it’s hard to pick a favorite because we loved everything. We would definitely come back here on our next trip to Florence!

Super tasty experience, you feel the taste of real Italian patisserie. Location is a little bit too small, but you need to enjoy in the Italian way….standing up and drinking also a coffee….

Caffè Scudieri Firenze is an elegant cafe that has been serving patrons since 1939. It offers a delightful experience with its pastries, coffee, and lunch dishes, all while providing stunning views of the Duomo from its terrace. The cafe is renowned for its cappuccino and the famous budino di riso, a delectable rice pudding tart that is a specialty in Tuscany and specifically Florence.
Had a very nice sit down breakfast here and then took some pastries to go. This has the best selection I've seen in Florence and the breakfast was great. My favorite breakfast we had all 2 weeks in Italy.
Jeremy L — Google review
At Cafe Scudieri in Florence, breakfast is a delightful experience that tantalizes the senses. The aroma of freshly baked pastries fills the air, while their flaky croissants melt in your mouth, perfectly complemented by a rich, velvety cappuccino. With its creamy foam art and a sprinkle of cocoa on top, each sip offers a comforting warmth that pairs beautifully with the delicious morning fare. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it the perfect spot to savor the simple joys of breakfast in this enchanting city overlooking the duomo.
Rex M — Google review
Nice views of duomo while you eat. Food was good but wait staff was very disappointing. Took forever to get order in and when asked questions felt we were inconveniencing them. My friend can not eat pork so she ordered a turkey sandwich. When it came it was ham. We tried to explain but they insisted it was turkey so she just took the meat off and ate it without. Cafe latte was good too.
Ashley C — Google review
Breakfast here has a good mix of locals and tourists. Pay first, then order, the system is not that efficient, you may wait a bit. The interior takes you back half a century or more, attention to detail in the display of pastries and plates a cups. Conviniently located in front of the Doumo and I was pleasantly surprised with the bill being much less than expected!
Theo K — Google review
We stopped here for a breakfast and had 2 espressos and 2 croissants, which cost us near 18 euros. While the bar has a beautiful view and the staff were very polite, the prices were surprisingly high—even compared to other tourist cities similar items usually cost in Pisa around 5 euros or Milan around 10 euros, A lovely spot, but be prepared to pay a premium for the location.
Homa H — Google review
A café with a great location and view, right across from the Duomo. The food options were decent, though not outstanding. However, we were very disappointed to be charged nearly double the listed prices simply because we chose to sit at a table. No one warned us about this price difference — not the staff, nor any visible signage. While I’ve encountered this kind of pricing in Italy before, there was always a clear notice or someone informing customers. Here, the extra charge was applied without any warning, which left a bad impression.
Ali E — Google review
Nice place I stayed there for coffee, sweets, and ice cream. The service was good and good help from the waiter. The location is very good. The quality of food wasnot bad at all.

Chocolate shop

Chocolate artisan
Rivoire is an elegant cafe located in Florence, overlooking the Palazzo Vecchio. Established in 1872 by Enrico Rivoire, the official chocolate supplier to the royal family, it quickly gained fame for its exquisite chocolates and traditional Italian cuisine. The cafe has maintained its artisanal production methods over the years, offering a range of delectable treats such as cremini, gianduiotti, and chocolate cream.
This chocolate haven is nestled in a lovely location, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The chocolate coffee mokkacino is a delightful treat, offering a perfect balance of flavors. The chocolate cake is surprisingly not too sweet, served cold and incredibly addictive. The pistachio croissant is a delightful pastry, and the filling is not overly sweet either. The matcha is okay, but must admit, prefer the chocolate offerings here. The decoration looks like it was in Europe during the olden days. Service could be a bit hectic, it’s a busy place at some times.
M * — Google review
I ate here standing up in the beautiful bar area, and if you do that it’s barely more expensive than any other bar in the city. I went for breakfast and liked it so much I returned for a light lunch! Eat the Italian way: small items, beautifully presented. Capuccino with a silver spoon, tramezzini on soft white bread. Fresh orange juice. A Coca Cola in a thick cut glass tumbler served over ice. The attention to detail was wonderful. Breakfast of a cappuccino, a honey croissant and a fresh juice was €8.10!
Lara H — Google review
We have found this place on our first day in Florence, and kept returning on other days too, it was ideal to take a break😅 the pastries are delicious, and eating them inside, standing near a table are around 3€, eating them outside at the terace doubles the price. The coffee was also good☕️ With ordering drinks, beer and nonalcoholic cocktail, they served us free snacks.
Timea G — Google review
Honestly no idea why this place only has 3.5 starts the tiramisu is delicious, staff patient and helpful, interior beautiful coffee amazing strawberry tart lovely americano portion generous. Cannot say a single bad word. If you don’t feel like a sweet treat you can have a huge portion of fruits which is super sweet. I really like it
Aleksandra D — Google review
When you sit down outside in the Plaza items are expensive. Go inside and the prices are just like everywhere in Florence for coffee and pastries. I enjoyed my overpriced Limoncello spritz and free nibbles taking in the beautiful plaza. Went inside and had the best cannoli in my life. Not too rich, not too sour. The casing was perfect. The rumpope tasting eclair was phenomenal as well. I want to go back before on the way to the train station to have it again. Quick polite service.
Challenja D — Google review
Stylish Stop for a Drink with a View We stopped by for drinks rather than food and grabbed a spot in the very comfortable outdoor seating area overlooking the stunning Palazzo Vecchio. It was raining and the place was understandably in high demand, the staff were doing their absolute best to accommodate everyone with patience and professionalism. I had an espresso martini (€16) and a beer (€9.50)—a little steep, and sadly expected for the location. Service was great, and while we didn’t stay long, it was a lovely spot to pause, sip, and soak up the atmosphere of the square.
Jonathan N — Google review
Great place to have breakfast and aperitivo as well!!! The service was extraordinary, the coffee by David was by far one of the best cappuccinos I’ve had my entire life and the pastries and cocktails were exquisite. Totally recommend this a beautiful spot in the center of Florence.
Alexandra L — Google review
Poor service. Stale bread. Poor communication. We order a sandwich and we pay for that. When we asked for a table, they told us this price is not for a sitting table. How do I know?! You should ask you want to sit or not!!! It was rude. I don't care spending money. Of course, I came here to have nice time and spending money. When you serving people you should NOT just consider how much money you can earn per person! It's better to consider what kind of experience your customers will have!!

Pasticceria Dolci e Dolcezze is a renowned pastry shop in Florence, known for its exquisite treats and unique flavors. Isabella Devetta of Rosa di Magliano cultivates 400 rose plants to create the delectable rose jam, adding a touch of fairy tale magic to the confections. The owner's dedication to using high-quality ingredients like Corman butter from Belgium and Valhrona chocolate ensures that every pastry is a delight.
A super cute cafe for tarts and cakes, the tarts here are absolutely delicious. The creamy custard is not too sweet and the perfect texture, it pairs very well with fruit and the seating outside is very nice. I would defiantly recommend.
Kristy C — Google review
Very typical Old Style Italian coffee shop with pastries. The atmosphere is classic and the owner as typical Italian as you can get. Mainly locals here so worth a try!
Ken S — Google review
Found this place whilst looking through some recommendations and HAD to visit immediately. The cafe is beautifully decorated with this stunning green and gold interior; its a little hole in the wall for you to get lost in. The desserts and pastries itself were also amazing. The raspberry pastry I tried was super flaky, and the chocolate dessert (with dates? i’m not sure) was super addicting. Will definitely be going back!

I walked here every day and was always so curious. One day I stopped and got a few desserts. I have to say this place is very good and not packed with tourist like other spots. I would definitely come back for more pastries.

Caffè Gilli is a historic café in Florence, founded in 1733 and located near the stunning Piazza del Duomo. The café's Art Nouveau style, frescoed ceilings, wood paneling, arches, and majestic counter create a charming ambiance for visitors. During Carnevale season from January to early March, Caffè Gilli offers fritelle di riso, which are considered some of the best Carnevale treats in Italy.
My mom and I visited Caffè Gilli, and we were truly impressed by both the service and the quality. Our server, Ilaria, was incredibly helpful and professional. We were in a hurry but really wanted to try this place, so after we mentioned that, she did everything she could to make sure our orders were prepared quickly and I could literally see her trying her best!🥹 We ordered Affogato al Caffè, Tiramisù, and Caffè del Padre. While we were ordering, Ilaria kindly informed us that they didn’t have chili pepper that day for the Caffè del Padre. We still wanted to try it, and she immediately offered an alternative by using cocoa powder instead, such a thoughtful and professional solution! All the items were absolutely delicious. The tiramisù was soft, rich, and perfectly balanced, the affogato had the ideal mix of espresso bitterness and creamy sweetness, and the Caffè del Padre was unique and full of flavor even with the cocoa twist. We honestly loved every single bite and sip. We were so glad we came!😊❤️ Even though we only spoke English, Ilaria communicated with us so kindly and warmly. We’d like to give special thanks to Ilaria, and we highly recommend Caffè Gilli to everyone visiting Florence! 🌸

There’s a cover fee of €3 per person, and the caffe is on the pricier side. We were a party of 2. The breakfast was good. My pancakes came covered with melted cheese, which I found to be very different, but I enjoyed them. My husband enjoyed his Eggs Benedict as well. The ambience was great. Tommaso was our waiter and he was good.
Debra M — Google review
I rarely visit the same place twice when travelling — yet in just 2.5 days, we found ourselves at Gilli not once, not twice, but five times! That says it all. We first stopped in for breakfast at the bar and were served by Antonio, who delivered not only delicious coffee but truly outstanding service. Despite the rush of a busy morning, he took the time to chat with us, introduced us to “El Padre,” and even surprised us with a little chocolate treat. His warmth and professionalism made us feel right at home, so we returned that very afternoon for more coffee — and once again, Antonio was just as attentive and friendly. An absolute star! Later that night, we came back for cocktails. Juan Carlos greeted us with the same level of hospitality — engaging conversation, fantastic drink recommendations, and what was genuinely the best Espresso Martini I’ve ever had. Of course, we couldn’t resist returning the next day for breakfast, pastries, and a final coffee before leaving Florence — we kept finding excuses to come back! I cannot recommend Gilli highly enough. Delicious food, fantastic coffee, excellent cocktails — but above all, the exceptional service from the team truly made our experience unforgettable. We will absolutely return the next time we’re in Florence! ✨🍸☕️

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We were a party of two and everything from start to finish was excellent. The food was delicious, the place was spotless and the service was top-notch. A special shout-out to Noa and Carmelo, who were especially kind and attentive throughout our visit. To top it all off, we were surprised with free sweets at the end, which was a lovely touch. Highly recommended!

Caffe Gilli was on my list before my arrival. I wanted a place with nice view and a bit of Parisian chic and it's the closest to that. I arrived by 9 AM and enjoyed their breakfast. They have good options from eggs to pastry and really good coffee. It was not too crowded and I was lucky to sit near the piazza, it got lore crowded afterwards. The service was nice and pleasant.
Mariam K — Google review
Perfect place to stop by. Recommend sitting next to window, so you can feel the atmosphere of piazza and enjoy food and coffee at the same time. Server Alessio welcomed and made us comfortable during stay. He was such a nice person.

This place welcome me like it I was home! Everything about this place was great. The servers, food, wine, coffee, atmosphere and the location make it the perfect place to sit down, relax, take in the view of the Plaza and get lost in the sounds of the city. I met a few great staff that made me feel like family. Santi and tomas were some of them. Very friendly, joyous, fun and kind. I'm here for two weeks and this is definitely a place I will always remember and if I ever get the chance to come back I will for sure return to see my new friends! Thank you Santi, Tomas and the rest of the staff there!

We had an unforgettable experience at Gilli Firenze dal 1733. The atmosphere is classic and full of Florentine charm, and every dish, from the fresh pastries to the beautifully plated mains, was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. S.forno is a historic bakery in Oltrarno, with over 150 years of activity, now transformed into a modern venue by the creators of Il Santo Bevitore and Il Santino. The bakery offers a wide variety of delicious bread, including special types like Verna wheat, rye and turmeric, and multigrain. The cozy atmosphere is filled with wicker baskets displaying fresh bread, wooden furniture housing jars of preserves and homemade pasta.
Tasted the passion in these amazing pastries and pizzas 😍 very enthusiastic and efficient service at the counter (he might be the owner?), patiently clarified what the flavours are in English and happily warmed up my pizza slices in a cute little oven. Nice pricing system by weight, so you don't have to force yourself to buy excessive portions, and you can try a bit of everything. Absolutely loved the rich flavours of the cheese/tomato pizza and the buttery pistachio cake. Very unassuming storefront but definitely pop in for some takeaway snacks you won't regret buying 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My favourite place to go in Florence. Atmosphere, music, staff, food all 5 star. A delicious assortment of cabinet food each day. Super super good.

Disappointed is the only word that comes to mind. Look at the pumpkin cake, dry no flavour just left it, and the cafe latte was worse. The trend with these "aesthetic" shops continues with sub par service and products at premium pricing

Such a cozy place to have breakfast. We were staying in a hotel right next to it and the host advised us to try and we didn’t regret. We loved the croissants, they were so buttery and flaky. Just note that there’s little room to sit so you may have to take away at peak hours.

Antico Forno Giglio is a beloved neighborhood bakery known for its fresh rustic breads, including slow-risen Tuscan bread and salty oily flatbread schiacciata. They also offer a variety of sweet treats like moist chocolate cakes with hazelnut cream and perfectly buttered cookies. The bakery's mini savory pastries and square tomato pizzas are highly recommended. It's a must-visit spot for those looking to enjoy authentic Tuscan specialties.
Incredible pizza, pan di ramerino, biscotti, breads etc. Fantastic friendly staff too. If you’re in the area, make a stop it’s definitely worth the short wait !

We thought this was a great forno, but we were so disappointed. Bought 5 rosetta, uncooked and a loaf of segale also uncooked. We threw the bread to wild boars in the fields. At least we didn’t throw away the food. People really lower the standards….

Grab a number at the entrance, it's worth the wait. The schiaccata rosmarino is epic, so is the carcioffino bread. Pizza is really good. The cake with apple and almonds was honestly the best cake I've ever tasted. The other savoury choices were fine but not amazing like the rest. Needless to say, I'll be back many times.

And the croissants were lovely, I can recommend the apricot one. The staff were super friendly and helpful and took the time to explain what things were to me in English.

Serving Florence since 1968 Antico Forno Giglio is a neighborhood Bakery known for Tomato Pizzas and a variety of Breads, the family owned space from Emilio and Naida Nuti sparse on square meters but bountiful in terms of options from 07h00 Monday through Saturday. Less celebrated for sweets than Rye, Schiacciata or other seasonal options guests seeking Breakfast will find a variety of Cookies plus Pasticerria while items such as Cornetti and Tortine are pillowy soft in comparison to filled Sfogliatelle that shatter to yield creamy Fillings.

Walked past this place and saw a queue of old ladies stood outside of it and figured it was a good sign. Grabbed my ticket, ordered a slice of pizza, and some cakes (I forget which ones), but the pizza was a different league. Almost NY style with the crispy base but the charred outer crust was so good too. You'll be tempted by the cakes, but grab a slice as well. Friendly service as well even when busy, and helped meet me halfway on my butchered Italian Duolingo phrases.

Pasticceria Giorgio is a bustling café and breakfast spot known for its wide selection of sweet and savory pastries, as well as seafood lunches. Located in the Soffiano suburb, it's highly regarded for its savory sandwiches featuring roasted meat of suckling pig or Colonnata lard with onions from Tropea and alici. The schiacciata alla fiorentina, cream puffs, and millefeuille pastry are among the standout sweet offerings.
We live in Firenze and for us,this is the very best bar and pasticceria in the city. A must visit if you are in the area. Lots of seating outside and a good place for people watching. Unbelievable selection of the highest quality home made pastries, cakes and panini.

My Italian partner praised so much this place for their schiachiata fiorentina, he said the place is authentic. Well i never tried any so when he took it home for me the schiachiatta tastes good. The next time we decided to have dessert in the cafe. It was very busy, very lack of service and confusing. We got the tiramisu cake looks very tempting but tastes honestly i make better tiramisu’s taste than this..

Read some reviews of Florence recommended dish; some of them said that we need to try "schiacciata fiorentina" Here -- kind of Orange sponge cake, although i usually don't prefer orange sponge cake, i think i have to try. Sadly, there didn't make it because of not the period of time (maybe because not the best time to make this dish according to the harvest time?) So i ask what is their best seller. One of the customer directly said: cremino. And the staff also agree. Kind of pastry filled with custard? IT WAS SOOOO GOOD Highly recommend, u have to try. With a cup of cappuccino, they paired perfectly. Restroom available friendly staff Ambience: 👍👍👍👍👍

Nestled just outside the bustling heart of Florence, Caffè Lietta is a delightful gem that pays homage to its artistic roots, named after the iconic fashion figure Lietta Cavalli. Spanning 150 square meters and featuring 45 cozy seats, this charming café boasts an inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating—perfect for soaking in the vibrant street life.
A nice place that locals like to come ; price is reasonable, pastry is just fine . good amount of seats inside and outside. But be careful with the pigeons outdoor if you leave the food alone, coz they will peck your food immediately. Overall , recommended it to check out .

Forno Sartoni is a charming bakery located in Florence, offering a variety of traditional cookies, pastries, and savory items like pizza and focaccia sandwiches. It's praised for its delicious pastries, reasonably priced coffee, and friendly service. Despite being close to the tourist center, it maintains a local clientele and provides a quiet place to relax. Visitors highly recommend trying their homemade baked goods while exploring the city.
This place is fantastic. They are located in a parallel street of the main walking street. It is still touristy - but what isn’t? You are in Florence. However, this place still carries the authentic charms of an Italian bakery. We stopped after visiting the Uffizi. The sandwiches here are huge and pretty cheap. One sandwich is enough for two or even three people. Best thing (apart from the lovely staff): they serve free wine!!!
Christian B — Google review
Perfect spot near the Duomo for a quick and delicious lunch! We stopped by after our first lunch option had a long line. They have free focaccia bread and wine available outside, which is what originally enticed us. We ordered 2 prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, and mixed greens sandwiches and a turkey, cheese, tomato, and mixed greens sandwich. The focaccia sandwiches are huge! I thought mine was delicious, honestly just as good as the Pinos sandwich I had the day before (probably due to their fresh baked focaccia)! They have a few indoor seats and more outdoor seating, though no tables, along both sides of the road.

This place is amazing! Super friendly staff, massive portions and amazing value. Visited in August 2025 and 3 Pizzas and a MASSIVE sandwich was 15 Euro. The sandwich in the picture was one sandwich cut in half! They didn’t have a sandwich I liked, but quickly made one for me - no bother at all. A must visit!

I rarely post negativ reviews but this bakery Forno Pintucci is (at least for tourists) a total tourist trap. We asked a piece of cheesecake for 2 Euro. The lady with black hair who was behind the counter there was no greeting, no asking, or no asking about the weight (here in Florence many places sell the cakes by weight) charged us double for 4 Euro. Unfortunately there is no minus stars for service. The cake was not great either. NOT recommendable. My first negativ review in years.

I recently visited this establishment in Florence and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Upon arrival, I asked the owner if there was a bathroom available, to which he replied yes. We ordered a pizza and a sandwich, both of which were subpar. When we later asked to use the restroom, we were told there wasn’t one and that I must have misunderstood. I speak Spanish, French, and English, and I understand Italian, so communication was not the issue. Additionally, I noticed kitchen staff handling food without gloves and not adhering to proper hygiene standards, which is concerning. This place did not meet the expected Italian standards of food safety and service. I would not recommend dining here.

SandwiChic is a compact counter-serve sandwich shop that offers a variety of sandwiches with different meats and veggies. The shop emphasizes the quality of its ingredients and the careful flavor combinations in their sandwiches.
Simply, a great place for having a great bite and nicely prepared fresh sandwich, many of them as much as your imagination can drive your taste. This shop offers numerous selections and am sure one or more will meet your satisfaction and comply with your liking. I like to thank the attendant person who’s taking care of the customers’ selection and to the person behind the counter who is making those great sandwiches ready to enjoy. Our thanks to the team and the owner. Keep up the good sandwiching business.

Surprisingly a much better sandwich than I thought. After trying many of them, I think this is the most balanced sandwich in term of flavor profiles (maybe because I’m Asian). I don’t like too salty so I think SandwiChic hit a spot. The team are super nice. I came at 11am with no lines but apparently if you come later, there will be a bit of a line. Cantinetta dei Verrazzano is a charming spot in Florence, located behind the tourist area. It offers a delightful experience with marble-topped tables and a selection of wines from the Verrazzano family's estate in Greve in Chianti. The menu features traditional Italian fare such as focaccia, cecina, and mixed salami platters including the must-try sbriciolona.
Excellent cakes and pastries with something for everyone - all tasty and very reasonably priced! The interiors are classic and it feels like a special but relaxed place to sit, staff are all very friendly.

Visited in March 2013 - On Via dei Tavolini, Cantinetta dei Verrazzano combines bakery, wine bar, and café. One entrance greets you with a glass counter stacked with fresh focacce, pastries, and breads, baked on-site in the forno at the back. A second room offers marble-topped tables beside a charcuterie kitchen and shelves of Castello di Verrazzano wines. At lunchtime, Florentines streamed in for takeaway while I waited for a table. The crostini selezione mixed cured meats with thoughtful garnishes (7.5/10), while a salumi di cinghiale plate showed firmer, gamier flavours (7/10). Dessert was the standout - a pear and dark chocolate tart with pistachio: perfectly judged and unforgettable (10/10). Espresso from the vintage machine closed the meal on a bold, well-balanced note. A polished showcase of the Greve estate in the city centre.

One of my favourite cafes in Florence. Typically Italian. You can either have a coffee on the go, like the Italians, or sit down and linger a little longer. They also do some savoury items (for breakfast or a light lunch) and lots of sweets! I had the fig tartelette.

We been here twice already. Once for a quick coffee and another time for lunch and a wine tasing from the Verrazano Winery. First, the staff is so friendly, and second, the food and drink is meticulously prepared and served. We had the focaccia sandwiches, a small salad, and tasted several excellent wines. We took home some bread for later. We will be in Florence several more weeks and we shall return here. Bravo!

Came here on based on our Italian's friend recommendation, and we absolutely loved it. We came for lunch and the servers were so nice to us. The ambiance is quite sophisticated and boujee, especially inside, but the prices were fairly reasonable. As you can see, we ordered a lot of crostini (probably a bit overkill). Our favorite was the sandwich and the pecorino and honey with orange zest. Would visit again and try the wines next time we're in Florence.

Great food, great coffee, friendly staff. They even have gluten free bread as an option. Loved that they had the option to purchase half of the sandwich I chose (for half the price) as I usually struggle to finish the portions at most places. Did have to wait 10 minutes for a table but it was worth it. Not much more to say other than I would happily return.

Nice place to come - the coffees were super interesting. I had a passion fruit coffee, which I've never heard of before. I'd definitely recommend trying their more interesting coffees. Their food was also really good - perfectly cooked pancakes! A good amount of choice, although €19 for a sandwich seemed a little excessive. I had to knock it down a star because, when we went to pay, we asked to split the bill and the waiter rounded up to make it easier for himself. This was really odd and meant we were paying more than we should.

Visited Ditta Artigianale, a well-known café in Florence located on Via dei Neri. We chose it for breakfast since it opens quite early, at 07:30, which was perfect before starting our activities. At the time, we had to wait a little and were put on the waiting list, but it was worth it. We ordered a cappuccino and a flat white. The flat white turned out to be one of the best we’ve ever had, while the cappuccino was also excellent. To go along with it, we tried their pastries: a Danish strawberry pastry and a Pistachio croffin. Both were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delightful. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely a place we’d recommend if you’re looking for high quality coffee and pastries in Florence.

Very cute place and atmosphere, excellent almond cappuccino as well. The croissant was ok, a bit average to be honest- staff were excellent! They don’t allow laptops just in case you want to work there for an hour or two - just FYI

Coffe and pastries are good, but don’t order the Benedict eggs. They are horrible! Hard boiled eggs that are overpriced, very disappointing, plus no sides just the eggs. Caffe Concerto Paszkowski is a historic and ornately decorated café located in Florence, Italy. Originally opened as Caffe Centrale in 1846, it was later acquired by Paszkowski & C. in 1903 and transformed into a cafe-concert. The café has been known for enlivening evenings with live music and signature drinks while preserving its old-time charm.
Paszkowski Café (pronounced Pash-KOFF-skee) - A Polish Central European oasis in scorching heat of beautiful Florence ! We visited Paszkowski on a blistering Sunday afternoon with our family during la pausa, and this place truly saved our day. Tucked into Piazza della Repubblica, the terrace is cooled by what looked like fine “misting sprinklers” — a blessing under the Tuscan sun. Inside, the interiors are a striking mix of Polish‑Austrian / Central European elegance: wood‑panelled walls, crystal chandeliers, mosaic floors - think the grand cafés of Vienna, Cracow, Warsaw or Prague, transported into Florence. Service was warm and polished. The manager greeted us with humor, interest in our origins, and genuine care throughout our stay. Highlights from the PSK signature menu? Their bubble‑tea twist felt refreshingly light, and the signature cake—a billowy, Central‑European‑style delight—was perfect. The coffee, too, carried that rich Polish‑Austrian sensibility: full‑bodied, smooth, slightly sweet, and utterly comforting. But what really makes Paszkowski iconic is its history and atmosphere. Founded in 1846 as Caffè Centrale, it became Polish‑run in 1903 when Karol (Carlo) Paszkowski - an enterprising Polish brewer and, later, Honorary Polish Consul in Florence - took over. He transformed it into a Viennese‑style brewery and concert café. Since then, Paszkowski has been a beloved meeting place for Florentine intellectuals and European literati - from Italian greats like Giovanni Papini, Ardengo Soffici, Gabriele D’Annunzio, Władysław Reymont, Stefan Żeromski, Eugenio Montale, Umberto Saba, Vasco Pratolini and Leopold Staff are often mentioned as part of that broader Central‑European café milieu, which Paszkowski beautifully embodies. It’s a place where Polishness quietly but proudly lives within the interior architecture, coffee and convivial conversational style - part of an esteemed Central European café tradition of intellectual gatherings, mid‑afternoon coffees and layered cakes. Today, Paszkowski stands alongside Café Florian in Venice or Cafe Greco in Rome — equally steeped in art, politics, literature and music. It’s not just a beautiful stop for a break - it’s a living, breathing cultural institution. Highly recommend for anyone looking for history, good taste, and that slightly refined, unforced Central‑European charm.

Great experience for a lunch. Pizza and salads are unique, fresh, and you must try their homemade ice tea! Waiters Ardit and Gigi were very hospitable and fun to have while we stayed. Would come back again and again. The view was great in the square

I was recommended this cafe by The Tour Guide channel. Overall I found it to be average. The coffee was fine, nothing special. I enjoyed the small snacks provided upon sitting. The biggest problem was the service which was a total mess. Inside we tried to order drinks and cakes and were told to go outside. Outside we waited for a seat and nobody came. Eventually we sat and tried to wave down a waiter and multiple times we were told that the waiter would serve us eventually. Finally they came and took the order and to almost no surprise; they brought us the wrong drinks. This was just a case of poor service and we felt like we were passed from person to person.

Pleasant experience with live music during dinner time, opens till late. The food was ok, beautifully prepared and presented. Gnocchi’s highly recommended, the baked salmon’s also quite tasty. Dessert’s not too impressive but ok.

By far the best croissants/cornetto in Florence! The chocolate cream was rich and generous. The skin of the croissants were flaky and the inside soft and buttery. Go to caffe Gilli beside for cappuccino though - tried the coffee here twice and while it’s decent, it lacks the crema so desired in a cuppa.

We had a wonderful experience at Caffè Paszkowski. The atmosphere blends historic charm with a touch of elegance, perfect for relaxing in the heart of Florence. The coffee and pastries were good, especially the tiramisu. Service was attentive. It’s clear why locals and visitors alike come here. A great spot for people-watching, sipping something delicious, and enjoying the Florentine.

Last year, I had the best cornettoes in Italy and an incredible cup of espresso here in a heritage worthy cafe that was 100+ years old. This year they didn't even open early, it had a completely different, more touristy, glitz and glam kind of vibe. Looks more like a fancy brunch kind of place and they ran out of cornertoes. Disappointed.

Great Bakery in Florence – Worth Coming Back This was our first stop in Florence, and it didn’t disappoint. We had pistachio croissants and cappuccinos for breakfast – both fresh and delicious. The pistachio cream was like heaven! We liked it so much that we came back later for a dessert and coffee. I accidentally spilled my espresso, but the staff was super kind and quickly brought me a new one without any fuss. Great service, great coffee – definitely a spot worth revisiting.

Bottega di Pasticceria is a café with beautiful interior and lovely pastries. In addition to a selection of bite-sized pastries, the store sells croissants with a variety of fillings, such as Nutella-filled croissants. The shop is located across the Arno River in a shady area, and it also offers coffee.
I recently visited this charming spot for breakfast, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The breakfast spread was fantastic, offering a perfect balance of sweet and savory options. Whether you’re craving something light and sugary or a heartier, savory start to your day, they have you covered. The pastries were fresh and indulgent, and the salty options, like the cheeses and cured meats, were top-notch. What really stood out to me was their impressive collection of Prosecco and wines. Even though I didn’t stay for lunch, I noticed their menu offers a variety of options, and based on the quality of the breakfast, I can only imagine how delicious lunch must be.

I wish I could have coffee & pastry here every day. This is a dream. The guys at Bottega di Pasticceria are true masters of their craft. It may be a few minutes walk out of town, but it’s well worth it if you’re in for a treat.

Vecchio Forno is a hidden gem in Florence, located near the Mercato Centrale. It offers a wide variety of both sweet and savory pastries, making it an ideal stop for those who enjoy both types of treats. The bakery is known for its French-style pastries on the upper level, crafted by pastry chef David Bedu, who incorporates local flours and ancient grain flours into his creations.
We discovered this traditional little bakery by chance while walking back from the Duomo, and what a lovely surprise it was! The pizza was absolutely delicious — thin and crusty with light, generous toppings. Super fresh and full of flavor. The best part? The prices were incredibly reasonable, especially compared to the more famous tourist spots in Florence. The lady at the counter was so kind. Even though she didn’t speak much English, she patiently tried to understand us and made us feel very welcome. If you're in Florence and craving an authentic, budget-friendly bite — don’t miss this place!
Arpita G — Google review
We tried a few items from this local bakery before visiting Galleria dell'Accademia. Everything is baked fresh on-site. You can see the entire baking operation through a side door on the street. Prices are clearly displayed and everything we tried was delicious. The standout was the sfoglia which was incredibly light, airy, and flakey with a sweet real apple topping. The lady at the counter had limited English but was friendly.
M L — Google review
Absolutely delicious pastries and pizza and quite affordable considering it’s at the heart of Florence city. The lady at the counter was a delight, absolutely love her! She patiently explained us without being frustrated as we needed some help translating the food options to English. It looked like it’s definitely a popular spot amongst locals, and we were pleasantly surprised how patient she was with us. Food; although I’m not an Italian food critic I can definitely say it’s delicious 10/10. We had two variants of pizzas and sweet pastries, so flavourful! Everything looked fresh out of the oven. Highly recommend this spot for anyone who is around Florence.

Stumbled upon this bakery by chance just to pack some snacks for the bus ride. Little did I know I would end up having one of my favourite Florence sandwiches here! The pistachio croissant was amazing as well (made from brioche!). Comparable prices to some of those famous must-visit sandwich shops but I liked this sandwich better. I tried the zucchini and cheese one and the bread was SO fluffy and light. Sweet staff as well, though they don't speak English, they were patient with me and my questions.

Great coffee and nice little pastries. Well done aperitivo/apericena... although the Spritz is pricey for its size! 10€ for drink/aperitivo. 7€ for your second Spritz. Beware most of the food is ice cold even if it’s supposed to be a dish served hot. But... it was winter when I visited. Fairly friendly (uncharacteristic) service. A good place for a snack in the via Gioberti zone!

This was a lovely cafe near our hotel which we frequented daily. The coffees were good and they had a great selection of patisserie which were delicious both savory and sweet. It was always crowded and seems to be frequented mainly by locals. The prices were very reasonable and indeed cheap for cappuccino

Nice, quality and classy place. We were there around 1:30, Friday, they were quite busy, place is noisy and patrons seemed mostly locals, not tourists. Great selection of food, superb classic espresso. Food is a bit pricey (3 items you see on pics came at 22 euro) but tastes great and well made. Waiter was attentive and friendly but cashiers were not. For that and for absence of clear pricing on display I took minus one star. But I recommend this place and would go again. This place serves a lot of locals and it is a never ending rotating door of patrons coming in. The theme/style is a 50s canteen bakery. We love the 'kitchen' seating at the back. A cappuccino is €1.5, large size is €1.6, pistachio cream croissant is €2, the custard nuts pastry is €1.5, cappuccino with ginseng is €1.8. The staff is super efficient and courteous. Overall, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Highly recommend this place!

This place is just crazy. This is the pie I've always dreamed of! It's an apple pie fantasy. The chocolate tart and cheese tart are both so deliciously balanced. It's on a whole other level than the crazy sweet desserts! I want to buy a pie here every day and read a book while drinking coffee. I'm planning on coming here every day while I'm in Florence! In the end, I went there for all three days I was in Florence, and the best was the one that looked like a sponge cake. They say good things come in small packages and, in the case of this little store, they are not kidding! Room enough for maybe 3 people to be inside perusing, but they move quickly so don't worry if you have to wait in line. My husband developed a deep love for the butter cookies with apricot jam, so much so that we went back twice during our time in Florence! We also tried their small tarts- the one with almonds is incredible. Not overly sweet, and light but with some real structure in the crust to hold it all together. One of the best bakeries we have found anywhere (including Paris!). Fantastic!

we're looking for a more balanced breakfast and this is the place. the food was hearty, service is warm and the place is cozy. we had nduja chili eggs which is great! the sourness from the yoghurt combined with a bit of spices is really nice. egg was cooked nicely too, not overcooked. and the cinammon roll was one of the best we had. not overly sweet, warm, and soft in texture with a bit of crunch externally. really enjoyed our breakfast here!

Melaleluca was on my list before my arrival in Florence. I managed to have breakfast on my last day and would definitely have chosen if I stayed longer. I tried poached eggs on toast, cinnamon roll (one of the best) and cappuccino. They has good variety of pastry, also pumpkin spiced rolls. The service was very lovely and food was served really fast. Very nice place to enjoy your breakfast near Arno river.

We had breakfast here and it was absolutely magnificent. The staff was fantastic, and the service was super super quick. We had the BLT with a fried egg and it was out of this world, slightly spicy cooked at the right temperature on a fantastic warm bagel. My family had the avocado toast, and it was also very good. The bacon was super crispy. The place is very calm close to the center of Florence but right by the river without a lot of pedestrian traffic. The flat white with almond milk was excellent and vanilla latte with oat was also very good. They also offer watermelon juice and coconut water, which are served fresh and cold. Very few places offer this in Florence. Prices where good for the quality and freshness of the product This is a great healthy option to have brunch our breakfast in Florence. We would definitely come back to try the pastries as well.

Such a lovely cafe. Came for brunch each morning we stayed in Florence. Wait time was less than 5 minutes - you may have to wait longer in a bigger group, but the QR code makes queuing up easy! Coffee, matcha, food and service was excellent. Will definitely be back!

Incredible service! Wonderful food. Best Matcha I’ve ever had (got it with their vanilla syrup). Our server cared about mine and my husband‘s allergies and made sure we were comfortable with what we ordered.

The hype is real! This is some of the most delicious food we’ve had on our trip. The meals feel familiar, but the flavors are distinctly unique. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu but I highly recommend the strawberry pancakes and the hasbrowns! Also the scrambled eggs are seasoned (which doesn’t seem like a huge deal, but for us it is). On top of that, the staff is really kind and inviting. We will be back for sure to try more of the menu.

We found this restaurant from a YouTube vlog on Florence. The restaurant is small but they make the space work. Of our 4 mornings in Florence, we ate here twice even though our hotel had a full breakfast included. The servers are friendly and organized even though the place is always busy! The food is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend but be prepared to wait a bit for a table. Get the fried avocado tacos!

We’ve been in Italy for a week and finally found a proper breakfast place with eggs, bacon, etc. Very tasty brunch. Probably the best cinnamon roll we’ve had. Mimosas were refreshing. Service is fantastic. Highly recommend, would definitely go back.

Nestled in the heart of Florence, Sugar & Spice Bakery is a delightful gem brought to life by Masha Innocenti, a New Yorker with a passion for American baking traditions. This charming bakery offers an array of sweet treats that are sure to satisfy any craving. During the festive season, their cake designs come alive with whimsical sugar paste decorations that capture the spirit of Christmas beautifully.
Stopped here randomly, for a sweet treat, and let me just tell you: i fell in love! Their cupcakes are the absolute best I’ve had, with the right amount of sweetness, and a mousse which is so incredibly soft, it melts on your tongue. Besides these, they have plenty of other options to choose from, starting from brownies to made-to-order cakes! The lady inside was super kind and patient, and helped us make the right choice. Prices are a bit higher than the norm, but definitely worth it. Must-try if you’re around!
Teodora F — Google review
We ordered a birthday cake for a friend's 40th birthday. Masha made the ordering process so easy and seamlessly took care of delivery (even though it wasn't easy since we were delivering to a home rental without a lot of detail and were working via email across time zones and borders). The cake was absolutely delicious - the whole group couldn't stop raving about how yummy it was - and the custom decorations were so well done. This could have been a really stressful situation trying to arrange a cake across country borders with a very high risk of failure if it didn't arrive for the celebration. Thank you Masha and team for helping to make the birthday weekend a success!
Sarah D — Google review
They did an amazing job. We ordered a two tiered cake, one tier chocolate with chocolate mousse, and the other vanilla with Chantilly and it was amazing. They even delivered. Thank you for a fabulous job.

Last June, Masha and Saskia made our wedding cake and a unicorn birthday cake for our daughter. Both cakes were delicious and absolutely stunning!
Naomi N — Google review
Wow, Masha and her daughter are fantastic. I reached out over email to order a cake based off a picture my wife sent me. They recreated it perfectly, to be honest better than the original. The flavor and texture of the cake was just as great. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a custom cake or just a tasty treat.

Absolutely delicious cake! The four stars are because the service was kind of strange; the lady wasn't particularly friendly and disappeared in the back room as soon as we paid. However, the chocolate fudge cake and cheesecake were amazing.

This is a large pastry shop which always seems to be busy, especially on Sundays. The coffee is great and the pastries are varied and tempting.
One too many caffè corretti here and you’d think you’d been transported to the Sun King’s hall of mirrors! Even with all the tricky reflections, it actually is a rather large pastry shop. It’s always packed, especially on Sunday mornings. The service is fast and polite. The coffee is great and in generously-sized cups and there are lots of great pastries to choose from.

Good pastries, I have specially appreciated the brioche 's dough made with coffee and the traditional sweet 'Schiacciata Fiorentina' filled with chantilly cream. 5-stars review - because they have a small but good selection of gluten-free products!

I liked the fluffyness of the croissant and the coffee was awesome as everywhere in Italy (as a German I can truly say that). I did not like the style so much. The glass and the mirrors gave me a nineties vibe. If you do not speak italian you have to use sign language as in pointing to what you want.

Amazing pastries, delicious and very well and attractively presented. A young lady served us with very good manners, but the old lady at the till was quite patronising and the barista looked very sad and did not really answered to any of our smiles and thank you. This is something I keep noticing in these Florentine businesses..the more established they are, the worst customer service they offer. Won't go back.

Nestled in an authentic Florentine neighborhood, Coffee Mantra is a beloved spot for locals and tourists seeking the best coffee in Florence. The cafe's strategic location near Sant'Ambrogio Market allows visitors to enjoy people-watching while sipping on a wide selection of expertly brewed coffees. Led by passionate owner/barista Giovanni, the friendly staff offers various brewing methods such as V60 pour-over, AeroPress, French press, filter coffee, and cold brew.
I ordered my first espresso after landing in Italy here and it has become a great memory. The service was excellent, we shared a pleasant conversation with the barista and he offered great advise and tips for our visit in Florence.

For my 2 weeks trip in Italy, this coffee place was definitely one of the best. Their coffee was comforting with great flavors. The server communicates in English well. Their prices were crystal clear, didn’t ripped off tourists. The cookies were yummy. The only thing was I wish they had more pastries choices.

Very cool coffee point. I was looking for specialty coffee place and fortunately bumped into Coffee Mantra. The cold brew was very refreshing and the staff guy was very friendly. Highly recommended spot for specialty coffee junkies ☕️

Really arrogant guy. Would not even let me sit down while he was dialing in his espresso. I thought maybe the attitude was because he was The Coffee Guy. But after waiting with the attitude the coffee was terrible. He said blend of Brazil and Uganda. I am sure it was Brazil Cirado and Ugandan Robusta. Horrible swirl and his attitude was just silly.

Very good coffee and pleasant service. The overall vibe was also very nice. He was making fresh batch brew when we arrived so he asked if we wanted fruity colombian coffee or some infused coffee. We went for the Colombian, and it was delicious! Lots of fruity aroma and bright acidity. The way he was describing was passionate and joyful 😁

I visited Panificio Palatresi, a charming bakery, on my way to dinner. The pastries caught my eye with their incredible appearance. The proprietor was exceptionally amiable and not only allowed us to sample the treats but also gifted my daughter a complimentary mini pizza. Unfortunately, she dropped it immediately, but he kindly offered her another one free of charge. Their cookies were delectable and surprisingly there are no reviews yet!
Nice little bakery with fresh breads. Their fisherman cookie (almonds, raisins scone) is awesome. Also tried their simple olive oil focaccia and it was also very good. Everything looked yummy wish we found them on our first day in Florence as I would have liked to go back everyday to try something different. Not to boot but his prices are very good..

A cozy bakery with friendly owners and a great selection of fresh, traditional treats. Their Schiacciata Fiorentina with raisins and rosemary is a must try soft, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. A true taste of Florence! Both of these were for 3.5€

What a sandwich! One of the best in the world. Check that, the absolute best! I was here over a year ago but sometimes I still wake up thinking about the crunchy bread and soft filling inside. If you’re ever in Florence make sure you buy a hotel room without the breakfast option and instead get all your breakfasts at this place. And if it’s a rainy Florence morning while you’re waiting to pick up your rental car from Sicily by Car, take the opportunity to sample 2 slices of heaven at Panifico Palatresi. God bless the baker, the coffee was also acceptable.

This is a great place for a quick stop with a nice view and good coffee but I would not recommend going there for breakfast, the portion was an absolute joke and the price was very high for such quality and quantity. Staff are very friendly and speak perfect English. Yet this place is only good for a pastry or some coffee and nothing more. Also the place is a bit crowded, yet nothing that bothered me but it is overlooking Dante's house so you will find a lot of tourist groups and maybe listen to some nice stories

After battling our way through Florence’s endless parade of “authentic” Italian cafés, we finally struck gold with Ben Caffè. Here, artisan coffee culture isn’t just on the menu—it practically winks at you. The pastries? Divine enough to make you forget you already had three gelatos that day. The staff even managed something rarer than a Renaissance masterpiece: a genuine smile for tourists. Not smack in the middle of the tourist traps, but close enough to rescue weary explorers. The flat white was smoother than Michelangelo’s marble, the chai latte could convert even the most loyal espresso lover, and now we’re plotting our return like caffeine-fueled strategists. Love the clean outside seating; come as early as 7:30 am and enjoy it while other tourists are still yawning in bed!

Ben Caffè is a cozy specialty café in Florence and one of the best spots we found near where we stayed. The cinnamon rolls were fresh and delicious, and while I don’t drink coffee, my family loved their Americano, batch brew, and cold brew. The café was busy but the service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere is quaint with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect stop whether you’re starting your day or taking a break while exploring. My first time here was awesome and I went at a perfect time because there were only a few people inside. The guy who took my order gave good service and the food came pretty fast. And the cappuccino?! To die for 🤍 I literally had to stop what I was doing because it tasted like an angel made it and saw that the older lady was the one who made it. 🥰 Only thing I would say is that the music is kind of loud so if you have sensitive hearing or problems like me then bring earplugs.

(Translated by Google) I wanted to try this Boulangerie on the first floor of the Central Market of San Lorenzo, intrigued by photos and reviews. The counter appears very inviting, full of both sweet and savory baked goods, and there is also a window dedicated to the Pâtisserie. Among the various proposals I decided to buy Viennoseries such as Pain au Chocolat, Bicolour Croissant and Chocolate Tenderness; I didn't miss the savory option, taking the Croissant with Cooked Ham, Cheese and Rocket. Expectations were quite high but at the first bite they waned disastrously: the dough was totally tasteless, tough to chew and difficult to swallow; rather difficult to swallow without drinking something and the Chocolate Spread, also present on the Tenderness, certainly doesn't help, making everything even more "stringy". It makes you wonder if they forgot to add the butter to the dough; Honestly, from a bakery that calls itself "Bulangeria" I expected a completely different quality. Prices in line with those of the other Boulangeries present in Florence but among the lowest quality/price ratio.

Tuesday 25/05/20 at 4.10pm The old gent behind the counter was rude and unfriendly to us as his customers. He talked hostile and ordered us to go and seat while he would bring us the pasties and our coffees!! He could explain himself gently and nicely if he saw that we didn’t understand what he meant. After all he had a difficult Italian accent and it was difficult to understand what he was saying when he talked English…! Very disappointed of the experience we encountered in this cafeteria!! We should have left the place instead :( On the other hand young dark haired man with moustache ( sorry didn’t get his name) who also served us was very polite and friendly. We paid €30 for two people altogether, pastries, two coffees and two glass of beers.

This place is extremely bad. One of the most awful custard cookies I ever had. Iced latte was well below any par. Very bad customer service. I was the only one who ate but they charged service fee for people who sat with me as well. The surcharge was for per person 1 euro and calculated as total of 3 euros. Mind you, they don’t bring food to table still they charged. Their response to comment does not match their action at the restaurant. Maybe their idea is to cheat tourists. Beware of these people!

Fast food restaurant
ITIT Il Sandwich Cafè in Florence is a cozy spot perfect for a quick break from the rain. The cafe offers comfortable seating, custom juices, water, and delicious chai lattes. Prices are reasonable and there's free wifi available with your receipt. The ambiance is great for studying with beautiful lighting and friendly staff. They also offer a good selection of whole grain croissants.
I’ll start with its one downfall which is having a different price to stay and to go (to stay being more expensive). However, this is the only cafe I’ve found in Italy that allows people to stay and do their work instead of kicking you out. Also provides iced beverages so if you’re a study abroad student such as myself missing your iced coffee (or chai in my case and yes! they have american coffee) then this place fills the hugely gaping void within yourself.
Rosalie S — Google review
Perfect for the occasion. We needed a 30 minute break from the rain and to rehydrate and found 2 comfy chairs here with a custom juice, water and most delicious chai latte. I've had many chai lattes but this one was hands down the best to date! Prices were mediocre but still cheaper than Starbucks. Also, on the receipt you can get the wifi code and browse for free while chilling. They also have some good looking pastries which I didn't have room for. Also available were restrooms in the back.

Sort of cafe you can work in which you can find all over cities such as London or NYC. Nice layout, relaxed feel, beautiful ceiling, friendly service, good food and drinks. Only problem is the acoustics. The chatter from groups is amplified and echoed around the cafe.
Tim O — Google review
I come here quite often to study because the lighting is beautiful and atmosphere very nice. The staff is always very kind. The customers are quiet which makes for a productive work space. I quite prefer whole grain croissants and I find a good selection of them here. My only complaint are the drinks... my cappuccinos almost taste like a dry mix?? I see them use the espresso machine but I do not taste it? I’ve also had bad experiences with the chai and matcha. Maybe I’m just too picky. It is a very nice place otherwise ☺️

Not that impressed with this place. Decided to stop by due to great reviews on Trip advisor, but the coffee is so-so, the food items are very basic and nothing special, and they have two sets of prices: to-go vs. to-stay. To-stay is ~30% more. It's almost better to order to-go, then just sit down. They also over-advertise Trip Advisor all around the restaurant, asking for 5 star reviews. Not impressed and will not be visiting again. 5-stars for being a tourist trap coffee shop.
Steven M — Google review
Expansive coffee menu and a central location. If you're looking for a Starbucks vibe, this is your place. Coffee is served from to-go cups and the prices are closer to what you'll find in America (aka higher). Good wifi and plenty of outlets though.
Michael C — Google review
The food is a little pricey (€2,5 for only one half of a sandwich!) but there is an interesting selection of coffee (lots of different shots with flavours ranging from ginseng to nocciola). Ambience-wise, it's a quiet place to work; comfortable couches, lots of outlets, and right in the city center.
Grace H — Google review
I come here to upload youtube videos =) So, the internet definitely works very well. Coffee is good! It is like a Starbucks actually (food and atmoshphere). People sit there working on papers, laptops, and so on... Cool atmosphere for sure. A bit expensive coffee for Italy though... Anyways, if you want to work on sth this is the place =)

Coffee shop
Fancy Pasticceria & Caffetteria, established in 1939, is a renowned gelateria and pastry shop in Florence. It offers a wide array of gelato flavors, including vegan options. The family-run establishment is popular among locals and tourists alike. The pastries reflect a Parisian style and are consistently well-made, while the coffee service is top-notch with a third-wave style.
Incredible! The croissant and pain au chocolat are to die for! Very similar to the french ones. Buttery, flakey and so soft! Definitely worth the price I also tried the cakes and they are heavenly! I would recommended to try everything!

Very delicious foods! And the staffs are very very nice. They help us to call the taxi. And they help us to keep my lost bag until I come back to get it.

Wow. I should have come here from the beginning instead of overspending at the mediocre places in the main tourist spots. This place is top notch; every item is a treat made with care and love. That's how we ate them too: with care and love. I would have left disappointed in Florence and the general poor quality of food we encountered in the main areas but this place, and Mancuso's gelato, give me hope that the famed Italian cuisine and excellence does exist. It's just not where the tourists go or are lured to go.
Irina D — Google review
Nice place to spend some time, delicious coffee, qr code with wi-fi on the table, finally nice music (not a usual modern s**t!!!). There are also different desserts. From the pastries I tried the tiramisu and it's a little bit not what I expected. This is not a classic tiramisu, but something else. The cream is very sweet, and inside is some kind of disc of incomprehensible flavor. Why can't they just make classic good tiramisu? That's the only thing I didn't like. But all in all, I'd come here again :)

The best coffee and pastry place in Florence. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Everything is perfect.

Fancy is quite a brilliant little pastry shop. I got a pain au choc and a cappuccino and that was a 10/10. Everything ticked every boxes. The couple who run it are very friendly and they seem to know very well what they are doing.

This place really knows what it’s doing! I’ve tried a good portion of their pastry offerings over several visits and everything is great. In fact, I tried a couple items just for a change of pace thinking they’d be good but not expecting anything special since they’re out of my normal taste preferences: a ham and cheese pastry and later a bacon egg pastry. Both were exceptional! Their coffee is also really good.

The bakery, Le Botteghe De Il Fornaio, offers excellent cuisine and patrons have the option to dine at the bar stools. The proprietor of this establishment is extremely pleasant and possesses a proficient command of the English language. The delectable dishes served are paired with exceptional service, making it highly recommended.

I stopped in here to get a slice (or two) of pizza once I checked out the reviews and was not disappointed. Nice selection of pizzas, baked goods, main dishes and side dishes ready for you to point to and have them package it to-go. Stop in here well before they close for the day or your selections will be very limited. Buon appetito!

Amazing focaccia, staying in the area and bought some from her and S. Forgot. Personally I found these wacky better and overall a more down to eath place to buy bread for dinner.

Absolutely best meatballs and sauce! Homemade gnocchi made fresh ready for takeout. Highly recommend the pastry as well.

Walking past and saw the arancini in the window. Had it and a custard filled donut. Both were fantastic. Arancini was large and filled with meat and cheese. Donut was generously filling with custard. Regular locals coming in and out to buy bread and food. Worth a visit. We will be back.

Located off the beaten path, this bakery is a local establishment that doesn't cater strictly to tourists. The roast beef and pomodoro on fresh focaccia was delicious! And the aragostini were fabulous! I had both the pistachio and the chocolate. I will stop in again. I apologize for the deplorable picture, but the sandwich was delicious.

Bakery
Forno La Pagnotta is a charming bakery located near the Sant'Ambrogio food market in Florence. It's renowned for its seasonal specialty, schiacciata all'uva, which is only available during the grape harvest months of September and October. In addition to traditional Tuscan favorites like pane toscano, brioche, budino di riso, and pizza, the bakery also offers gluten-free bread and baked goods.
I’ll be honest - I don’t have anything to compare this schiacciata con l’uva to, since this is the only one I’ve ever eaten. All I know is that it’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted in my life. The two ladies running the bakery were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and very patient with us as we made our selection. The grape schiacciata was absolutely out of this world. We also got a piece of their regular schiacciata with olive oil, which was a lovely treat. All in all definitely worth going a little out of the way for - it’s a great (less touristy) corner of Florence and just really fantastic food. From now on I will plan all my Florence trips for September 👌
Antonia L — Google review
If you have never had Schiacciata con L’uva (grapes) you have not lived. And if you haven’t had it here, you really haven’t lived. Hopefully you get to visit on a day where it’s available, sadly on our return visit there was none available, so we had to try the biscotti, which were to die for. The team are great with tourists and the owner loves to help you learn Italian. :). Highly recommend.

Bakery
Panificio Chicco di Grano is situated in the front right corner of the delightful SantAmbrogio Market. It functions as both a bakery and tavola calda, offering an assortment of delectable pastas, freshly made for takeaway or ready-to-eat as a quick lunch. In addition to their pasta selection, they also specialize in baked breads and goods, fried snacks such as polenta, and an array of tempting cakes and pastries.
This is the best place in the sant ambrosio market. They have a huge choice of different dishes to take away. From vegetarian dishes to meat dishes and even fruit salads. The staff are wonderful and I always feel welcomed and that they are generally pleased to see me. The prices are very affordable for the amount of food you get and they are all working hard to make sure everyone is served as efficiently as possible. This is my go to for lunches and can only recommend them time and time again. GRAZIE ❤️

Visitors are treated to exceptional culinary experiences thanks to Mrs. Rosa's expert cooking tips and her delicious stuffed chickens and rabbits.
He was so kind! We passed the shop on the way back to our hotel. We wanted to get some ham and cheese to make sandwiches at hotel. If you're wandering through the enchanting streets of Florence and find yourself in need of a quick yet delightful meal, look no further than Il Forno S.r.l. Nestled conveniently between the iconic Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio on via Santa Elisabetta, this charming bakery offers an array of delicious options including sandwiches, pizza, and filled waffles—perfect for a fast lunch without sacrificing quality.
Stopped here for a light lunch after visiting the Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizzi galleries. The staff were so friendly, and though every table was full we didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food. We sat out the front and it was lovely and shaded and very relaxed, despite being just off the main streets.
