Mama Florence Cooking School offers an exceptional culinary experience in Florence. The tour of the Central Market and Tuscan cooking class is led by Chef Filippo, who is not only a great chef but also a wonderful host. The small group size allows for personalized attention and plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The interactive and informative nature of the class makes it suitable for all generations, and participants get to enjoy a delicious meal with guests from around the world.
Fantastic Cooking Class for a Large Group! We brought 40 teenagers and 5 adult counselors, and the Mama Florence team handled it flawlessly. The class was fun, well-organized, and engaging for everyone. After cooking, we enjoyed a small “party” downstairs with appetizers and drinks while our food cooked. This was a great time for photo ops in our aprons! Food came out delicious. They also handled allergies and gluten free really well. Everyone had a great time. Highly recommend!

We booked a cooking class and a wine tour. I was highly disappointed in our experience. It was incredibly expensive for a class of that size. The room was absolutely packed inclusive of many children. It was mostly demonstration with the only thing we actually made ourselves was the ravioli. We signed up for a regular class but when we arrived it was a gluten free class which took away from the experience immensely. The wine tour we booked was not actually hosted by mama Florence we just had a driver pick us up and drop us off at the school. The driver was very confused and really didn’t add anything to the experience. We could have just as easily booked a far less expensive wine tour independently. I was very excited for my Italian cooking class and was left extremely disappointed and felt that it was far from what I expected. They didn’t even have the right recipes to share with us to back what we had made/ watched them make in the class. Unfortunately I would not recommend the school.

My wife and I had an amazing time learning to cook pasta and gnocchi with Emanuel. He was a fantastic teacher with a really cool story. We booked for a group class and ended up just being us where we were able to goof around, make great food and the three of us had great conversations. Emanuel you were amazing!
Lucas D — Google review
I had an incredible experience at the Mama Florence cooking class! Luisa was our instructor, and she was absolutely amazing—so passionate and knowledgeable about the food of Florence. Her deep understanding of the cuisine and its history made the class both educational and enjoyable. I had a wonderful time learning about traditional Florentine dishes and the stories behind them. This class is a must-do for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the culinary culture of Florence!
Ray-el G — Google review
We had the greatest experience at this cooking class! The chef was delightful, and his staff was incredibly helpful. We were fortunate to have a good group of people to share this experience with as well. Our food was delicious and the wine choices were paired perfectly. We will definitely Schedule another appointment with them when we return to Italy! Thank you for making our experience so good :-)
Carolynn Y — Google review
A fun morning learning to cook a 4 course gluten-free meal. Making our own pasta and eating everything at the end. The chef explained everything and included volunteers to help with the cooking. The kitchen was clean and with the meal being fully gluten-free, the risk of cross contamination well managed limited.
Julie C — Google review
Our private cooking class with Chef Emanuel in Florence was truly one of the highlights of our trip! He was so kind, patient, and supportive throughout the entire experience, making us feel comfortable and excited to learn. We loved every moment—from making fresh pasta to learning authentic techniques—and we were thrilled to bring what we learned back home. In fact, we’ve already made homemade pasta since returning, and it brought us right back to Florence! This class was fun, memorable, and such a special way to immerse ourselves in Italian culture. We highly recommend Chef Emanuel to anyone visiting Florence—you won’t regret it!

This was our first time doing a food tour and we had the best time!!! Valeria, our guide was top notch. She is sweet, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. We loved the shared experience and getting to know others from the group. Food was excellent and so were all the drinks. Valeria was kind to accommodate us since we’re vegetarian. She is an outstanding guide and I highly recommend her. We have another food tour booked in Rome and I’m already excited! Grazie.

Francesco was a wonderful guide through the good and wine of Italy. He had a tremendous knowledge of the food and history we were sampling. That, combined with his superb personality made for a very enjoyable experience of Florence’s food market. The vendors were also very friendly and informative about what we were tasting. I would highly recommend this tour of Eating Europe Florence.

We went on the Sunset Food and Wine Tour in with Giovanna and it was a wonderful experience. She was knowledgeable and patient with our group. The places we went we would not have found on our own and everything was absolutely delicious. I particularly liked meeting the “King of Cheese” in this mom and pop run cheese shop and sampling the best pecorino Romano I have ever tried. I highly recommend this tour and Giovanna in particular. Five stars!

Sara P. was an absolutely wonderful guide. She was personable and knowledgeable, connecting with everyone on the tour. We brought our 10 month old daughter and she was so accommodating. The food was amazing, the drinks were great, and the locations were special. We went off the beaten path away from most of the crowds. We loved it!

We had a fantastic tour with Sara D! She was knowledgeable, fun, and had a passion for her neighborhood that was quite obvious. The tour itself was informative and yummy, with all of the treats of Florence right in front of you. The different proprietors were grateful to have us and we’ve returned to the shops to further our experience! Thank you, Sara D!

So much more than I ever expected! Our guide, Alice in Wonderland was an absolute delight! Her effervescent personality enchanted our group from the start. The flow of tour was smooth and engaging. The wine and the food was terrific. Alice in Wonderland was knowledgeable and generous with her love of Florence. She provided historical anecdotes that were fun and engaging. She is a treasure!

Our food tour with Alice was outstanding! Very informative and helpful. Pace was great and didn’t feel rushed. Food choices were excellent and enjoyable. Would highly recommend this tour. Felt like a local Florentine tonight. Thank you

We had a wonderful experience on the Evening Food and Wine Tour with Eating Europe in Florence. From the moment we met our guide, everything felt welcoming and well organized. We enjoyed welcome drinks and we were all given the chance to introduce ourselves. The tour took us through some hidden gems and authentic spots that we probably would not have found on our own. Each stop had its own unique atmosphere, and we got to taste a variety of specialties from cheeses and cold cuts to pasta and gelato. The wine tasting was also great and it had different varieties including a stop at a wine window. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and passionate about Florentine food culture. She shared some local insights that added so much more depth to what we were experiencing. I unfortunately can’t remember her name but she is in some of these photos. A special thank you to her for making this night so fun and memorable. The pace was perfect, relaxed and the small group size made it easy to chat, enjoy, and ask questions. We felt like we’d just had dinner with new friends while learning a lot about Florence especially the culinary traditions and some history. I highly recommend this tour. It was a delicious, memorable evening from start to finish!

Florence Food Studio offers an Italian cooking class where you can learn to prepare four homemade dishes, including the best homemade pasta, while enjoying some wine. It's a perfect activity for vacationers in Florence who want to master regional cuisine. The experience includes a visit to a cheese shop and hands-on preparation of two pasta dishes, an appetizer, and a dessert. Giorgio, the host, is engaging and knowledgeable.
Unforgettable Pasta Masterclass Experience! We had the most amazing time at this pasta masterclass! We learned how to make pasta, ravioli, and dessert — and everything turned out incredibly delicious. The highlight for me was the pear and ricotta ravioli – such a unique and flavorful recipe! The tiramisu was absolutely divine; honestly, I can’t enjoy the one in restaurants anymore after tasting this one. The chef was fantastic — he shared so many secrets and special tips about authentic Italian cuisine. Making pasta from scratch was surprisingly easy and so much fun. I’ll never go back to store-bought pasta again! The pesto sauce we made was also bursting with flavor. This experience was unforgettable, and we’re definitely coming back for another class! Highly recommended!

What a wonderful experience. First time making pasta by hand but certainly not the last. Thank you to the engaging staff and easy pasta lessons. We will be making this for family Christmas dinner this year

One of the best cooking classes I’ve done! Alessia was lively and engaging. Time flew by and it was wonderful to sit and eat our hard work. Highly recommend you add this on your to do list in Firenze/Florence!
Jessica S — Google review
An Authentic and Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Florence Food Studio Our evening began with Chef Giorgio, and from the very first moment, it was clear we were in for something special. This wasn’t just a cooking class — it was a deep dive into authentic Florentine cuisine, thoughtfully led by a passionate and knowledgeable chef. We started by visiting local markets and traditional bottegas to select our ingredients. Chef Giorgio shared his knowledge of what was in season and helped us understand the quality and purpose behind each item we chose — a beautiful introduction to the regional flavors of Tuscany. Back at the Florence Food Studio, the experience truly came to life. In a well-equipped and welcoming commercial kitchen, we prepared a full meal together: homemade pasta (which Giorgio made feel effortless), a tender chicken dish with a rich carbonara sauce, fresh bruschetta, and a mascarpone dessert topped with the sweetest strawberries of the season. Giorgio’s approach was patient, professional, and personal. He tailored the class to our level of experience — and since we come from a family of home cooks, we appreciated how he elevated the meal beyond typical tourist fare. The setting felt intimate and relaxed, as if we were cooking with friends in a beautiful home kitchen. There was no rush, just genuine joy in the process — and the meal we enjoyed at the end was one of the best we had during our entire time in Italy. Grazie mille, Giorgio! We left not only full and happy, but inspired to bring a bit of Florence home with us. We couldn’t recommend Florence Food Studio more highly for anyone seeking an unforgettable, authentic culinary experience.

Chef Vary offers a top-notch Tuscan cooking class in Florence, providing an immersive experience in the Tuscan countryside through delicious flavors and dishes. Participants learn to make fresh pasta from scratch and gain valuable insights into the art of pasta making. Chef Vary is praised for being personable, entertaining, and a wonderful teacher, ensuring that participants not only enjoy the class but also leave with practical knowledge. The experience includes hands-on learning, wine tasting, and engaging conversations with Chef Vary's family.
We had such a great time learning in her fully dedicated gluten-free kitchen. Chef Vary runs two separate kitchens — one for regular and one for gluten-free — and we really appreciated the care and attention she put into keeping everything celiac-safe. The class was hands-on and super informative. We made fresh gnocchi, ravioli, tagliatelle, and pizza dough from scratch, and everything turned out delicious. The pizza dough was especially incredible — easily the best gluten-free version I’ve had. What stood out most was how thoughtful Chef Vary was with every detail. The recipes weren’t just gluten-free versions of typical dishes — they were fully customized, down to the types of vegetables used in the fillings and sauces, to make sure the flavors and textures really worked. Highly recommend for anyone gluten-free looking to learn traditional Italian cooking in a safe, welcoming environment!
Tristen M — Google review
Wonderful experience. Taking time from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing. Turned out to be a private lesson with Giulio and didn’t disappoint. Very patient and thorough in the cooking process. All three pastas tasted delicious and we can’t wait to buy the kitchen aid mixer adaptor for the pasta. Thank you!
Ernie A — Google review
Fantastic small cooking class. Chef Vary customised the menu to suit our taste preferences, and the gluten free cooking class was coeliac safe (dedicated pasta machines ect). Great teaching, excellent food and wine, highly recommend.
Eloise K — Google review
We booked a gluten free pasta cooking class to with my mother who has celiac in our group of three and it was the highlight of our time in Florence! We made three different types of pasta (gnudi, ravioli, and tagliatelle) and it was the best pasta we’ve had in a while (and the best my mother has had ever!). Chef Vary was extremely helpful and thoughtful and explained everything behind the importance of techniques and ingredients in a beautiful 100% gluten free kitchen. We also had unfortunate travel planes and she was extremely flexible to accomodate the changes so we could still enjoy the class.
Andrew K — Google review
We had the most amazing time today with Chef Vary’s private cooking class in Florence It was a fun, hands-on experience from start to finish. We were blown away by how much we learned—and how much we laughed along the way. Chef Vary tailored the entire class to be completely gluten-free, which was such a gift for me as someone with celiac disease. Even better—the kitchen we cooked in is a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, so I felt completely safe the whole time. We made pizza, ravioli, gnocchi, and tagliatelle—all from scratch and all gluten-free! I never thought I’d be able to roll, fill, and shape my own pasta like a pro, but with Chef Vary’s guidance, it felt easy and empowering. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Florence. If you’re looking for an authentic, fun, and safe culinary experience (especially if you have dietary needs), don’t miss this!
Jennifer C — Google review
We had the pleasure of enjoying Chef Vary’s gluten free class. It was the most incredible experience! She was so knowledgeable about celiac and gluten free cooking, and she had so much enthusiasm for cooking. Her and her husband were so hospitable and kind, and to be honest they were both adorable. The food was so good, I can’t believe we made it from scratch. We cannot wait to make these dishes at home. Thank you for the wonderful experience and new recipes! 5/5 stars, book the class!

The Cooking Lab offers an immersive cooking experience with Chef Luca Polverini in his home, where participants can learn to make classic Italian dishes from scratch. The cooking space is well-equipped and tidy, providing a comfortable environment for learning. Luca's teaching style is both educational and lighthearted, creating a delightful experience for all participants. Additionally, he accommodates special dietary needs and ensures that everyone feels welcome in his home.
This experience was amazing! Luca finished most of the dinner before we arrived except for the pasta so we could learn and try it ourselves. All the food was amazing, what you would find in a traditional Italian home but my favorites were the cannolis. We had this experience as a surprise for my mom’s birthday and she really enjoyed it, we all had the best time getting to know more about Italian food and Luca was a great host!!
Dulce G — Google review
Having Sunday lunch at Luca’s place was a one of a kind experience, it felt like dining with a friend. Luca was accommodating with our children, and we learned quite a bit from his demo. Absolutely recommended, a quintessential experience when visiting Florence.
Anthony — Google review
Amazing experience!! Luca was the perfect guide. Extremely accommodating, flexible, and knowledgeable. Very easy going as well. This was the first planned activity of our holiday in Italy and it was the perfect, “welcome to Italy” experience. The kitchen we cooked in was inside Luca’s own home so it felt extremely authentic. It was large enough to fit 6 of us and could likely accommodate more. The view out the back patio was exactly what you imagine when you think of Florence. When we finished, we all sat around the dining room and shared stories. 10/10 - would recommend!!! Thank you !!!
Matthew M — Google review
We did the lunch cooking class with Luca and it was great! We had our two children with us and he involved them in every step. Homemade fettuccine, ravioli and tiramisu! Everything was delicious and the home environment was very warm and welcoming for our family! (P.S. fellow Americans - he has ice! lol )
Zach S — Google review
We had the most wonderful cooking class with Luca while we were in Florence. He was so welcoming and open to all our questions! His instructions were easy to understand and his knowledge very impressive. The traditional dishes were delicious and we found his tiramisu recipe was even more delightful than the one we ordered at Paszkowski’s!!
Doug S — Google review
We had the most incredible cooking class with Luca in Florence! In his beautiful kitchen, my family of six learned how to make ravioli, fettuccine, and tiramisu completely from scratch. Luca was patient, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel fun, relaxed, and personal. After cooking, we sat down in his cozy dining room and enjoyed the delicious meal we had just created. It felt like sharing dinner with a friend—one of the most authentic and enjoyable experiences of our trip. If you’re looking for a hands-on, unforgettable culinary experience in Florence, The Cooking Lab with Luca is a must-do!
Kelly C — Google review
Luca was a tremendous host. We started by going to the local market to buy our produce. This gave us a great feel for how the local people of Florence go about preparing meals for their families. Once we got the produce we went back to Luca’s home and started cooking our three course meal. Luca was very good at showing us how to prepare the food as well as explain why the food needed to be prepared in certain ways. After the meal was cooked we had a lunch with Luca and his wonderful family. After the meal we sat around the table in typical Italian fashion and had great conversation about arts, sciences, and difference/similarities between Italy and America. Overall excellent experience and highly recommend to anyone looking for a personal cooking class. Appetizer: prosciutto wrapped and stuffed fried pizza dough balls Meal: potato gnocchi with fresh cherry tomatoes and burrata Dessert: tiramisu

L'Antica Cantina del Chianti is a charming spot located next to the Duomo in Florence. Visitors have praised the prompt and courteous service, as well as the accommodating menu that caters to dietary restrictions with delicious gluten-free and vegan options. The outdoor and indoor seating provides a great view of the cathedral and Brunelleschi's dome. Guests have enjoyed a variety of food options, including vegetarian lasagna, which was described as one of the best ever tasted.
Stopped here for lunch after our tour of The Academia and climb to Brunelleschi’s Dome . We specifically wanted paste with truffle sauce- it did not disappoint!! Atmosphere and service was delightful and servers spoke English (also menu in English). This is also a wine shop that offers wine tastings- we may try this out later! Highly recommend!

Great place! We just visited it for the drinks and we were very satisfied. The location is fantastic, it is possible to enjoy a pizza or a drink while admiring the Duomo. The happy hour for drinks was unbeatable. Highly recommended.

Great spot behind the cathedral Duomo, fantastic Papardelle w ragu from wild-boar. Skip wine di casa and try real Chianti. Very nice old waiter. Good place for lunch and relax. Money worth to spend. Autumn time mostly in shade. Grazie

Outstanding Service, Delicious Food, and Great Aperol Spritz at L'Antica Cantina del Chianti We had a wonderful experience at L'Antica Cantina del Chianti. The food was absolutely delicious – the seafood pasta was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor, and the gnocchi with meat sauce was simply outstanding, tender, and rich in taste. To complete the experience, we enjoyed refreshing Aperol Spritz cocktails, perfectly balanced and served cold, which made our lunch even more enjoyable under the Florentine sun. The atmosphere is cozy and the outdoor seating allows you to enjoy the charming streets of Florence while you dine. What truly made our visit exceptional was the service. Ana is by far the kindest, fastest, and most attentive waitress we met in Florence, Italy. She made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, was always smiling, and provided excellent recommendations. Thanks to her, our meal was even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious local food, great drinks, and outstanding service!

Very accommodating staff. Chef made us very good gluten free pasta which we enjoyed with Chianti in the square by the Duomo! Very nice evening!

The best food we have had in Florence. Simple perfection and Anna is the best! The best food is not in the shiny spots but in the little hole in the wall spots. Everything we had for two nights was amazing.

Florence, Italy is surrounded by charming old-world towns like Siena, Pisa, Lucca, and the lesser-known gem of Pienza. Pienza is famous for its pecorino cheese and offers a glimpse into everyday Tuscan life. Visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture by taking cooking classes in Florence. One such experience involved shopping at the San Lorenzo market for fresh ingredients before learning to prepare pasta, meat ragu, and tiramisu.
Amazing. Simply amazing. I wasn’t sure what we were letting ourselves in for - but can we just talk about how amazing, generous, kind and passionate our chef Alice was? Her knowledge, humour and love of food made this such a great experience for me and my family. I cannot recommend this enough. The next time I’m back in Florence - and I will be back - I’m signing up for another class. Thank you so very, very much. The lunch we cooked was the best I’ve eaten and I’m proud of my family and Alice for making it happen.

Absolutely fantastic experience with Chef Lisa! She is a fantastic chef, educator and hilarious throughput the process of making your own pizza and gelato. Most people can follow recipes online but there are many tips and tricks that she taught us and go a long way on our pizza journey. The staff was attentive, cleaned up fast and had everything laid down for us at the station. Of course there's unlimited wine, but I'm glad that it didn't come until the food arrived, otherwise we would not be making any pizzas. If you're looking to learn something new and got 3 hours to spare, give this experience a chance and you won't regret it!

I had such an amazing time at the Towns of Italy cooking class with Federico!!! From start to finish, the instructor made the entire experience fun, welcoming, and easy to follow. I really appreciated how attentive they were, anytime I started to fall a little behind, they noticed right away and made sure I caught up while also checking that I was doing each step correctly. That extra attention made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the class. The atmosphere was lively and hands-on, and I loved how the instructors mixed in useful cooking tips with fun stories and explanations. I learned so much about making authentic Italian pizza and gelato, and it never felt rushed or overwhelming. They provided six delicious toppings for the pizzas, and it was so fun to get creative with different combinations. On top of that, there was unlimited wine and soft drinks, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and social. By the end, not only did I get to enjoy the amazing food we made together, but I also walked away with new skills I know I’ll use at home. This class was truly one of the highlights of my trip, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Italy who wants a memorable, interactive experience full of food, fun, and learning!!!

Phenomenal cooking class. We really enjoyed learning how to make Ragu pasta, ravioli, and tiramisu. We also got to check out the local market which was great to learn about truffle based ingredients Great job to our chef teachers Tommaso, Alice, and Jon. The food and wine were delicious - thank you!

What an amazing experience! We took this cooking class in Florence today and had a blast making fresh ravioli, tagliatelle, tomato and pesto sauces, and vanilla gelato with our kids. The class was so much fun, very informative, and led by two entertaining and skilled chefs. The small group (14 people) meant great personalized attention, and the kitchen was spotless. Ending the class by eating our homemade pasta was the perfect finish! Our kids absolutely loved it. A must-do for families in Florence!

We really enjoyed our market tour and cooking class, Alice and the other staff were friendly & professional and made it a fun, easy going environment. Our group as split into three groups of 4-6 people which was just right - felt intimate and we had great conversation (especially after a couple complimentary glasses of wine). The 5 hour class was perfect to enjoy a tasting a the market and the cooking class at a comfortable pace, and still wrapped up early enough that we had time to explore in the afternoon. Ingredients were obviously super fresh, meats were fresh from the market, and the food was delicious. Alice gave a lot of great tips on preparation but the dishes were not too complicated for beginners, strongly recommend!

Chefs Roberta and Nicco were fabulous! The class felt very informative, engaging, authentic, and fun! They jumped in to save any of us that were struggling with techniques to ensure we stayed on schedule and had food to enjoy at the end of class. This is an absolute must do for first-time tourists!

Fantastic evening making pizza and discovering how gelato is made. Then eating the proceeds! A huge thank you to Alicia & Frederico for sharing their skills with us. We will enjoy taking the recipes and making both pizza with new confidence and gelato for the first time at home.

At Chefactory Cooking Academy Florence, you can immerse yourself in the authentic Italian culinary experience that goes beyond the typical pasta dishes often found in Western cuisine. Forget about spaghetti bolognese; here, you'll learn how Italians truly enjoy their pasta through hands-on cooking classes. Participants rave about crafting a delightful four-course meal while receiving invaluable tips from skilled chefs. The atmosphere is vibrant and social, with travelers from various places like California and Canada coming together to savor delicious food paired with exquisite wines.
Traveling to Italy was a dream, but adding a cooking class to my itinerary in Florence took it to a whole new level. One of my bucket list goals had always been to learn the art of Italian pasta-making in the heart of Italy. So, during our trip, we booked a cooking class at the Chefactory Cooking Academy in Florence through Viator. This was no ordinary cooking experience—it was an immersion into Italian culture, flavors, and culinary techniques, guided by passionate and knowledgeable chefs who made us feel like we were crafting something truly special. Nestled in the vibrant city of Florence, Chefactory provided the perfect atmosphere. The kitchen was spacious yet cozy, with a rustic Italian charm that immediately made me feel at home. One of the best things about the class was its intimate size; there were only about 6-7 students at each station. This setup allowed us to get plenty of hands-on experience, which made all the difference. It felt like we were all part of a small culinary family, learning, laughing, and tasting our way through the session. The chef instructors were a highlight in themselves. They had a wealth of knowledge and experience, and it was clear they had a deep love for sharing Italian cuisine with visitors from all over the world. They were friendly, supportive, and eager to answer any question we threw at them. What struck me the most was how interactive the class was; instead of simply watching a demonstration, each of us was given the opportunity to participate fully. From kneading dough to carefully shaping ravioli, we were involved in every step, which made the experience feel even more personal and rewarding. Under the chefs’ guidance, we prepared four classic Italian dishes: panna cotta, ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach, gnocchi, and ragu Bolognese. After a few hours of chopping, mixing, and kneading, we finally got to taste the fruits of our labor. What was genuinely surprising, though, was that the pasta we made in class was among the best we’d had during our entire trip. There was something so gratifying about enjoying a meal we’d crafted from start to finish, especially knowing it was made with fresh ingredients and a lot of heart. If you’re ever in Florence and have a love for food (or even a hint of curiosity about Italian cooking), I highly recommend a cooking class at Chefactory. It was fun, educational, and deeply rewarding—a perfect blend of travel, culture, and culinary adventure.

We booked the 4 course deluxe meal and pasta in Florence. It was so fun and learned many professional chef cooking tips as well. It was very hands on but not overwhelming. Chef Francesco was so entertaining and knowledgeable! We made an eggplant/tomato/mozzarella appetizer, ragu fettuccini, chicken Marsala, and tiramisu. We then relaxed with a glass of wine eating the foods we had prepared. Perfect in every respect. Highly recommend.

My wife and I enjoyed the cooking class very much. Our teacher was excellent, kind and helpful. And the meal once prepared was outstanding. We would without hesitation participate again.

We travelled to Italy for my daughter’s sweet 16 so I wanted to do something fun and special as a family (4). We booked this cooking class during our stay in Florence. Let me tell you…the experience was phenomenal!!! Francesco was great! Personality and energy was amazing. He was like family…:-) From the simple every day cooking tips to the meal itself 10/10. The best meal we ate during our 2 week Italy trip and we prepared it! Lol It’s been about 2 weeks since we’ve returned home (Toronto, Canada) and I just purchased the Atlas 150 pasta maker so I can follow Francesco’s recipes. No going back to store bought pasta! Thank you Francesco (and Romina) for such a great experience and wonderful memories!!!

We did the market tour and Tuscany cooking class in Florence. The cooking class was fantastic and we learned how to make traditional pasta, tiramisu, bruschetta along with preparation of the basic ingredients. The kitchen was really nice, air conditioned, good equipment, and super friendly staff. Great way to make friends with other travelers. Only issue is the initial meeting point is not streamlined, no indication as to who to go to. Luckily the various tour guides walked us over to our chef.

"Pasta Class" is a popular activity in Italy, especially in cities like Florence and Rome. Osteria Palazza offers a unique experience with its tagliatelle made in a Grana Padano cheese wheel with fresh truffle. While it may be pricier than other options, the homemade pasta is said to be worth it. Visitors have also enjoyed learning to make fresh pasta, where they get to make three types of pasta and enjoy their creations afterward.
Took this class with instructor Milena and had the best time!! It was so much fun to learn how to make 2 different types of pastas. It felt like a very authentic experience and we were able to sit and enjoy the food we prepared paired with delicious wine and surprises Milena gave us. Overall highly recommend this experience for everyone!!

It was our first time Florence and we couldn’t think of a better experience then learning to make fresh pasta! The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. A brief history on how the business started, introduction with your chef/instructor and then you get to make three types of pasta. And the best thing of all, at the end you get to eat all your hard work. Would definitely recommend and great value for money.

Awesome experience learning to make lasagna and spaghetti with Hilena as our guide. She is an excellent instructor and chef. We enjoyed the pasta, wine, and dessert. We all prepared the pasta and lasagna from scratch with her instruction. She took care of the cooking and cleaning! After the class, the recipes are provided.

A Must Do Cooking Experience in Florence The Dolce Vita Experience is what it is because of Ileana (the Owner). She embodies everything you want in someone teaching you to make pasta and learn new recipes. The tour of the oldest market in Florence was fantastic. She has learned the language and speaks with the vendors to know: what is in season and good, what they recommend using based on what she is cooking and where they are sourcing their products if not from their farm. She explained all of this to us and the different types of produce and meats. She told us why she uses certain vendors. And shared which stands also have stands where they prepare food such as La Botteghina di Luca Menoni (amazing hamburgers). She asks what sounds good to you and determines what to make based on what is in season and what you like. After the tour you walk a short distance to her apartment where she walks you through what you are cooking and has you help prepare it. This means chopping, cutting, and preparing the ingredients which later are used to fill pasta or make sauces. You then move to learning to make pasta. We chose tagliatelle and ravioli. She made the process very easy to follow and explained why each step was important. Although we are no experts our pasta turned out and tasted fantastic. I must not forget that we started by making Tiramisu so that it would be ready after our meal (it was delicious). And while we were preparing and cooking she had aperitivos and charcuterie for us. We then enjoyed a lovely, cooked by us meal with her at her dining table. A wonderful conversation was had while we enjoyed our meal and wine. We would be amiss if we didn't mentioned that we are impressed by her story and her adventurous spirit to start a new life and career in a foreign country (we understand what that takes having done it ourselves). But even more so by her tenacity to do and learn what is needed to make her business successful. We love her ability to bring a recipe to life by using seasonal ingredients and her knowledge. She completely changed the flavor profile of a dish by adding lemon zest. It was a fantastic experience and we recommend it to all.
