Jazz bar in the busy touristy centre of the city. Some cool people, good lighting and great real candles. Buzzing atmosphere and talented musicians. So much more unique than anything else so central.

World class and one of a kind beer experience. He is very picky about who he allows to taste the collection and you have to get his attention from the door as the doorbell doesn't work. He doesn't like seeing groups of people at his door, and only accepts cash. You have the chance to taste some really great, aged beers if you can put up with the initial questioning.

I want to advocate the place a little bit. Yes it's a special place, you need to know the passport and have some cash prepared. Yes it somehow depends on the owners mood, if you would enter or not. But all this vibe together with a selection of vintages, that's all makes this place special. I was lucky to get it in. But if not I wouldn't be crying...if you are not ready, just don't go there.

It's an experience for sure. The owners take their beer very seriously but they seem to genuinely enjoy sharing it with others. We had a barleywine that's older than I am, as well as some great lambics. The cozy atmosphere invites conversation with the other patrons. Overall a very worthwhile stop in Antwerp.

A very special experience in Atwerp. The older couple who run this have their unique way of ensuring only respectful and appreciative people get to sample their amazing range of beers. Some very rare and interesting beers to taste; several vintages of Pannepot and Westvleteren, and some authentic lambics on draught. So grateful for De Kulminator!

So, the old couple who run this place have been doing so for 51 years which is kind of amazing! A bit of a hoarder’s delight with memorabilia dating back decades, including some beers! The beer I tried was bottled in 2009, 16 years ago! I can’t say it tasted great, but this place is special for its uniqueness and the cute need for a PW to get in. I took the trouble to learn “Good morning, we would like to try some beer” in Flemish and it did the trick.

I came here in 2018 with my husband, after being recommended it by a waitress at another bar. We walked straight in with no issues, and had a fantastic couple of hours sampling different beers and chatting with locals in the garden. Based on this experience, when I returned to Antwerp with friends this last weekend, this was one of the first places I attempted to show them. Upon arrival, we found the door was locked, but the owner spotted us through the glass and opened up, asking us what we wanted. We were a little stunned by the strangeness of this, and politely asked if the place was open. Rather patronisingly, he pointed to the open sign (not really applicable if you keep the door locked!), so we asked if we could come in for a beer. He told us they don’t serve beer there and then shut the door in our faces. I felt embarrassed at having spoken so highly of it, only to then put my friends through that ordeal. I wish I had looked at more recent reviews before arriving, because then I wouldn’t have bothered. This place used to be great, but it seems the owner’s cognitive decline and bigoted attitude isn’t doing it any favours. Avoid!

I have been coming here for years and have recommended it repeatedly to friends and family. On our visit today the locked door was opened by the owner who refused us entry after asking why we were there. “To drink beer” was not, apparently, the correct answer and we were refused entry, something that hasn’t happened to me in 40 years of drinking. Was it because I was accompanied by someone of colour? I couldn’t say, but with so many other choices in Antwerp why would you go here? This place gets a single star only because no stars is not an option.

Superb place to hangout. Order a drink with fries and make long conversations. Pleasant place to get indulge into thoughts. Amazing food with wide range of beers served your weekend time. Never miss to be amazed.

Food was good. Beer tasting was good. A table of locals hit us up with a friendly conversation and recs of local beers that made the experience worth it for us. But it was just too busy and understaffed- albeit, the staff doing their best to provide the best service they could.

Really interesting place, interesting food with nice selection of draft beers. But service was slow even there was not so much people inside. Food is good. Beed stew is OK, rabbit is very good.

Very nice and unique place. Friendly staff. Good food at normal prices. Very large Belgian beer menu which makes it ideal to discover some unknown treasures. The brick walls make the place rather loud and noisy which makes it less suitable for high sensitive people. If you have earplugs, bring them with you in case it is needed.

I accidentally walked in this place and this one is very cozy and welcoming place, I was alone myself and they treated me like old friend - super friendly stuff who loves beer - you ask questions they try hard to answer in English. And their meat ball is amazing. Full of pork flavor, matched with home made fresh tomato source (you can tell it’s not canned tomato source!) super recommend tho place to kick out for solo or with group of friend.

Great place for locals and tourists. I can confirm the stoofvlees (Flemish stew) is as it should be. Good fries as well. Large choice of Belgian beers. Cosy atmosphere. Recently renovated. They kept the authentic elements and added a contemporary touch. There is a separate space if you only want to have drinks. Good for families as well.

This place is exceptional. An underground resto pub with a very unique ambiance is a must-go in Antwerp. Two thumbs up!

The service was helpful and friendly made good Gin&Tonics along with a wide variety of beers. The bar itself is small and cozy with walls full of paraphernalia, we came in to avid the rain and stayed for hours. There is an outside seating if the sun comes out.

This is my favorite of the bars in this area as its a bit smaller/more intimate than the nearby tourist traps.. and has a great range of beers on tap including a dark strong. Importantly, all beers are served in good condition so their flavour is top notch.

Here around lunchtime, minimal menu for food and limited on how much they can provide in one go due to the size of their kitchen. Recommend the omelette Paters Vaetje, comes in a fry pan have posted image. Great selection of beers and friendly staff, serving eight friendly people. We were happy where we were sitting. Recommend a visit, will go back when the opportunity arises.

Went for a couple of beers early evening. Sat down on the terrace. Waited, waited and after 20 minutes still no service. I was thirsty! Walked in and both members of staff on their phones. I requested two 'Bollekes'. Another 10 minutes before they appeared. There were about 6 other people on the terrace, all with drinks and 4 people inside. The laziest service I've ever experienced. Beer selection okay, setting is beautiful, just under the cathedral. Left after one drink after paying at the bar, not my table.

In the heart of the city, this place would normally be a tourist trap but it's not at all. A really nice and cosy beer bar with a wide selection of beers. The bartender was very helpful with choosing the next beer.

Great drinks, friendly service, and stunning views! Stopped by for a coffee and some beers — everything was really good! The atmosphere was relaxed and the service friendly. At first, the waitress didn’t understand I wanted a dark beer, so I got a different one, but honestly, it turned out to be delicious anyway. Beautiful bar on the corner of the Old Market Square of Antwerp overlooking the centre with it's stunning buildings and architecture. Service was top class; speedy, attentive and very friendly. A reasonable selection of draught beers with mostly regular large brewers. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Lucky enough we discovered this gem around a year ago, on our first ever visit to Antwerp. Since then we have returned to Antwerp many times, and we *always* ensure we come to Den Engel each time. Lola and Benjamin and the entire team are so friendly, so hard working and so welcoming. We love the décor in the bar, we love sitting outside in the warmer months, and inside during the colder months. There's a superb DJ who plays a whole mix of music through the decades on the weekends, and a very friendly and efficient toilet attendant during the busier weekends. The location can't be beaten, the team working here are superb, and one of the reasons we have returned to Antwerp so many times over the past year is because of the super friendly welcome Lola and Benjamin give us, as well as being so genuinely nice and hard working team members. We shall keep returning here from London time after time, for as long as they are both working here - they truly make our trips to Antwerp so memorable and something we very much look forward to. We have bought flowers for Lola to show our appreciation, she truly is amazing and is worthy of some flowers, it's the least we can give her. Should I be lucky enough to ever have my own bar, I would want her and Benjamin to be the managers - their personalities and warmth and welcome is priceless, thank you both.

Terrible experience. The waiter was very disrespectful, and we ended up leaving without staying. Maybe he was having a bad day, but that doesn’t justify treating customers this way. We came hoping for a nice evening, but instead it ruined our night. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Old Brown pub with it's own pub cat. Friendly service - mostly locals there but staff look after everyone with typical Dutch friendliness. Main IPA is very cheap and there is a range of stronger beers on the beer menu.

This bar is a true hidden gem tucked away in a harbor area, set inside a stunning old hangar with an industrial charm. You can sit both indoors and outdoors, enjoying views over the water surrounded by lush greenery and a vibrant atmosphere. The place has a relaxed, artsy vibe with mismatched furniture, warm lights, and plenty of space to hang out with friends or meet new people. Prices are very reasonable. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend hours, sipping drinks in the sunset. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something special away from the usual tourist spots.

If you are heading up to see the Zaha Hadid building, don't bother. Instead, take yourself to this fabulous bar. The architecture is authentic, charming, and vernacular. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and with the patina of life. You can sit inside, outside, upstairs, all with lovely views of the docks. Oh, and there's nice beer, cheese, and good music, too!

It was my first time in this place. I went to order, just follow where people was standing to order. There was nothing written where yo stand and to order. I was standing there long enough and it was not normal. A few people came to order. They stand where they give drinks ( order) then a woman behind the registration called for the next order ( costumer) and someone came infront while i was there standing long before other peopl who i saw came before me. And i told to the worker. I was standing there long and was waiting to be called? Why you serve her/him? Instead of l give me my order. She just told me. You have to be in this lane? Not there? I answer her, how in the world would i know???? Theres nothing written " ORDER HERE"??!! what an experience!!!! A lousy workers and lousy management. Will never gonna go there! I left right away and went to the other stablishment. And was direct served!

Great energy, staff, and prices at this place. Lots to do for groups, or if you want to just kick back and enjoy the view. One of the best places in the area to view the sunset. Great music and knowledgeable staff about the city and beers. Good selection as well. Fun games and plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. Fireplace indoors was a great touch.

It's a nice old bar but if there's not a live performance it isn't worth it. Service is rather basic and their offerings are even more mediocre. For some unexplained reason the stop offering hot drinks after 10pm.

Sat on the terrace for over 30 minutes, no server came to take our drinks order. When finally got up and flagged down a waitress to order, she acknowledged that we wanted to order, then disappeared to go clear other tables. Left without ever being able to place an order. Would not recommend, terrible service.

The owner is very kind and sociale. But the staff was absolutely not. We waited very long to he served and were ignored each time we made a sign we wanted to order. The staff was just very rude when we ordered. Looked like she hated her job. She even asked us very rudely to clean up our table when she brought the second round of drinks after she forgot to take away the previous drinks. Looked like she was put of patience. I will not be coming back here.

Great place, but the cocktails can be a bit dubious. We paid €28,00 for two Bloody Mary cocktails, and having worked in a bar, they weren’t good… Far too sour and not the right choice on our side. However we did finish them, so drinkable at least.

1 star dor the worthless service. After waiting for 15 minutes, I went inside to order at the bar. Two girls working there are totally not qualified for this job. They were hanging out with their friends at the tables instead of working. The cafe across the street "Patine" is much better with excellent service and very friendly people. Sadly there is not always place to sit there while Hopper is almost empty, I guess that explains why.

Loved this place! We were here all weekend for Desertfest, and couldn't fault anything. Great sound quality across all three stages, plenty of space, decent beer (Bolleke, Cristal, Duvel) at sensible prices, good separate spaces for merch stalls and food vans (beer garden out back). Best of all, they had loads of staff on, so there was always someone on hand to help with anything, and hardly any queues at the bar.

First time I had been to this venue but it’s now hands down my fave venue to see artists. Super intimate with a large enough stage and good acoustics. 10/10 would recommend

Great place for concerts. I don't like that they are still under the "muntje" system (buy coins in exchange for drinks or food). Food in the garden is overpriced. Beers are kind of OK (lower than Belgian standard) Still, this place is great to see a band from any place. Update October 2025: No more coin system, just pay with your card (finally! yes!). Food now is just typical fried snacks and fries (frozen) but it is OK (6€ for fries with sauce). And beers, well I just went with Bolleke and it was fine.

There are no barriers and it’s allowed to stagedive. Someone jumped right on me hitting my head/ear with the leg. It wasn’t expected, I didn’t even see who was it as I fell on the floor and as soon as I got up there was no one around. Concert experience was 1/10, staff was great though, they gave me ice and made sure I stopped crying and was ok. Thank you guys!

I strongly advise against buying a Meet & Greet ticket at this venue. I paid €177 for a Banks Meet & Greet, but they sent me the wrong email with the regular entry time, not the VIP information. Because of that, I arrived late and completely missed the Meet & Greet. When I got there, security even tried to put me in the regular ticket line, even though I had paid for VIP access. Other fans who managed to attend said the Meet & Greet was extremely rushed — just a quick hello and a photo with your own phone. I contacted them afterwards, but they refused to refund me despite their mistake. Honestly, it felt like a scam. I’ve had better Meet & Greet experiences elsewhere (like Tinashe in Barcelona for only €60). I will never buy a Meet & Greet at Trix again.

A Disappointing Experience This cafe is a typical example of Belgian nonsense—cheap alcohol sold at inflated prices. The bartender seems disinterested, unfriendly, and frankly, neurotic, as if he’s tired of his job and the visitors altogether. The atmosphere inside is far from inviting; there’s an unpleasant smell reminiscent of urine, giving the impression that hygiene isn’t a priority here. It feels as though the customers might even be drinking and relieving themselves in the corners. If you’re just stopping by for a quick cup of coffee, it might be tolerable, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend bringing anyone along. The only redeeming quality is its convenient location, easily accessible by public transport with Tram 4 stopping right next to it. Overall, I wouldn’t suggest visiting unless you’re desperate for a quick stop.

It was very fun and cozy there. It’s amazing you can just write and draw on the walls. There are multiple spaces you can go. So if one gets too busy, you can move some place else. The people working there are super friendly. Definitely recommend going there.

Great to see a Decap Organ in a cafe, but the bar staff were not friendly, in fact most unwelcoming. Considering the organ is the unusual feature of the cafe, on the night we visited they didn’t want us to play it, and made it very clear. However the local customers were nice, and and made the atmosphere ok

A popular locals bar down by the River Schedt. 1 euro coin slot gets to start the mechanical oompah band music for a short duration. Dated hardware, bar area is quite small, and the barmaid wasn't the most cheerful that particular evening.

Traditional Belgian Organ

Café Beveren is a pub you have to drop by when in Antwerp. They play oldies music there and it's very busy during the weekends, the Dutch love this pub too. It has a lovely warm welcome feeling, no fancy decor but very friendly staff.

Good Belgian beer and something else. Their colorful and rare Decap organ—a mechanical jukebox from Art Deco times that blasts classic schlager tunes—and an equally colorful bunch of locals guarantee a memorable evening on the town.

Total disregard for the neighbours who live in this normally quiet area of town. Loud music playing until absurdly late, it is completely unacceptable.

The party was great, but the venue was not equipped to handle a party like this. Glass bottles and glass cups crushed everywhere and several people had cuts from accidents, and twice an ambulance had to come to the venue. Lockers were expensive to rent and even to use the toilet cost money. And that's after paying a premium ticket price and buying overpriced drinks.

Every month's first sunday there is a bit latino party and all dancers come over to dance salsa bachata and Kizomba... Drinks are starting from 3 euro and to be able to pay you need to buy a card from their cafe and only by that card to make payments. Garde-robe is also paid (1euro). Overall it's a nice location and big halls for dance events.

Beautiful place but bad management. It got hired for a shoot, they payed about 1800 euro in advance to rent it for the day but the management kept moving the date until they finally chose one, a week before the shoot they asked an additional 1800 euro for, i don't know what for.. the modelagency and others are looking into this but very shady management.

This place is p2p (pay 2 pee) but it's very easy to just walk past when it's busy enough.

This place has an excellent choice of Belgian beers and typical Belgian food with amusing names for each dish inspired by the bible as it is located next to the Antwerp Cathedral. The decoration inside is bountiful but with nice weather I would recommend sitting outside on the terrace.

It's nice cozy spot to visit after a long day walking around Antwerp in the rain. The food is pretty decent and you get a large portion. Although you do pay slightly more. There is tons of seating inside (top and ground floor) and outside. The blonde waitress that served us, was amazing!

Fish stew is good. Cheesus is unbelievably HORRIBLE. Incredibly sweet and then incredibly salty. Can be the NO.1 terrible food on the list of my life. (NO.2 is the blueberry dumplings in Poland. And NO.3 is None.) 50 Euro for me alone and still hungry when go out.

Classically quirky bar and restaurant, covered in all manner of religious trinkets. Great beer on draught, and unexpectedly excellent food too. We had the fish stew and meatballs, and both were delicious. We got in for lunch about 12:30, when it was pretty quiet. By 13:00 it was full and people were having to wait for a table, so definitely worth popping in early!

We stopped by for ribs and found them a bit on the oversauced side, almost as if they had been left too long in the marinade. The side potatoes were quite oily and seemed to have been cooked earlier in the day. On the positive side, the music was pleasant and the atmosphere cosy, which made the visit enjoyable overall. The place itself is quite narrow, so don’t be surprised if people brush past your table as they move around.

All the staff were friendly and helpful from start to finish, responding promptly as soon as I checked in. I realised that I had never seen anywhere else with such a sacred and bigoted concept, yet with such a cosy atmosphere. The beer and its varieties were excellent, and the dishes were tasty and fresh, but rather expensive. The evening live piano bar-style music was very pleasant.

Grand Horta Cafe in Antwerpen is a must-try for breakfast lovers! We went on a Saturday at 11 am, just in time for their grand breakfast, which runs until 11:30. The service was excellent, and the staff was very attentive. It's definitely a popular spot, so I'd recommend reserving a table in advance to avoid disappointment. The cafe has ample seating, creating a comfortable and spacious atmosphere. After breakfast, we also tried their Bao Buns, which were delicious and only available after the breakfast service. Overall, a great experience. Will experience their dinner next time 🙂

Attend a meal here, was absolutely exceptional staff very attentive, and made to feel very welcome despite the large number of attendees, the food was delicious and very well presented, and all topped off in an amazing building. Highly recommend, Perfect location in Antwerp.

I attended the Gala Dinner at Horta during the European Aviation Conference 2024 and was thoroughly impressed by the architecture, having delved into the history of the place. The interiors are equally captivating. The meals were elegant and delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. Next time, I look forward to trying dishes from the menu.

It’s our 3rd time trying this restaurant while we’re in town. The service staff are very kind and the food is usually really good but avoid carbonara pasta at all cost. ( it tasted like ready pasta :( !

This place nice with a beautiful bar, but the food was just mediocre unfortunately. Given the high ratings on Google, I expected more. I was especially disappointed by the paella that was very soggy and the prawns were dry and didn’t seem fresh. The fajitas were not bad, but nothing to rave about. Overall, I’m sure you can find better elsewhere, especially at the prices they are charging.

I went here 2 years ago with some friends and had a very bad experience (raw chicken tapas, unfriendly personnel and rather disgusting food overall). Nevertheless, seeing as they swear at their customers in turkish with words like “siktr git”, I think they in fact do deserve their bad review EDIT: To reply to their reply: Are you simple or just rude? Maybe I did a walk-in 2 years ago, or you don’t accept walk-ins? Maybe I didn’t give you a negative review 2 years ago, because I think it’s bad for business & I don’t like to ruin others’ business. Nevertheless, I was looking for a nice tapas-place yesterday and thought I would give Negen Vaten a second chance (as your location and interior is in fact a 10/10 imo). 1 bad experience doesn’t necessarily mean that your place is bad. And although I still don’t know whether your place is just bad, or I just had an unlucky day, I do know that you guys are insanely rude. I don’t even know the person you were swearing at, I just think it’s utter disgusting to disrespect customers like that. I won’t mind telling you all this in your face either

Starting off by the server having no idea what the menu items were or how to even pronounce them, I knew It was going to be a rough one. The only compliment I can find is the chorizo with the bread cubes was fine. Other than that, wow. The spareribs were dry, literally tasted like a day old, reheated food. The albondigas tasted like frozen cafeteria food. Tomatoe sauce at least had a decent flavor but it missed the regular amount of celery they usually added. The scampi was tasteless, very sad. The breaded jalapen̈os with cheddar "croquettes" were a joke. You could tell is also frozen. The pin̈a colada was a disgrace of a cocktail. The sangria had like 3 pieces of fruit in there. Come on 🤦🏾‍♂️. Either this place changed ownership or nobody cares anymore. That was a disgraceful service. Edit : we have added pictures as proof of our meal with you this past weekend. Please give us a way to contact you so we can send you a copy of our invoice, since you said you would pay us back if we gave proof.

I was amused by this restaurant. It had a nice window display with all the glassesa ND neon lighting. But as we entered they had a bar that was calling my name. As I was ordering the waiter was soo nice and kind took my order and got me a limoncello spirits. And if I tell you this was soo refreshing but soo nice with the home made lemoncelo. As we finished our drink to go to our table at the back. We heard Spanish guitar and music vocals offcours this was all live. And I was all the way in Spain again. Hahaha the food was delicious the vibe was great. Definitely coming back again. And thnk me later

Lovely dining venue that offers a warm welcome, beautiful decor, and amazing tapas selection. I dined in with my Belgian friend who filled me in on its colourful history of being a centre for live music and dance.

To loud, because off the live gitares players. 2 locals play at every table multiple times. It's good fore a few songs but to much is to much. The food was not really good, tapas made just for the money, there was no love or time spent on the dishes. The price is on the high side. For example, 5 pieces of baguette and a very small cup of aioli for 4,5€. I mean that would normally be a side dish on the house.

I spent the afternoon enjoying drinks and food in the sunshine. Lovely atmosphere and to add to the vibe a good djay for the sunset .However, I cannot understand how you pay so much over the bar and some Vile down and out gets away with trying to charge you money to use the rest room. Cash only in a cashless city. The staff were so lovely I don't understand how this horrible vile thing gets away with it .

Didn’t get the best weather when I went so that was a bit of a shame because the atmosphere must be so nice when it’s sunny! The QR code on the table for us to order wasn’t working and the servers weren’t really paying much attention to us so that was a bit of frustrating, but the drinks are quite delicious and strong, although the cocktail was quite small for its price!

I've only gone for the salsa events. It's fun, good floor, good music and nice people but my God. It is always way too crowded and the acoustics aren't great. I think the boxes are too small for the area they wanna use

Lovely beach-style bar and restaurant just by the river in Antwerp. On sunny days you can amazing views of the river. There is a BBQ facility. The staffs speak English. Food is tasty. Drinks menu is limited, not much choices. There is a big parking place nearby, where one pays only 3.80euro for 24hrs of parking which is cheap by any standard. Heard the place also organizes DJs in the evenings.

There aren't really any words to describe this place so I'll just say it's an awesome place to spend your evening(s). Fairly (competitively) priced drinks and snacks like 'tapa's', Belgian Fries, Pizza etc to go with your drinks. Wonderful place to be with a magnificent view.

I fell in love to this pub. It's very comfortable with live music and later a very funny karaoke time. You have dards you have billar you have a lot of delicious beers to choose and a lot of funny and kindness people. Very special pub.

Very rude and obnoxious staff. Ordered bacon fries which turned out just to be a small packet of crisps, so politely asked them to be returned and have it taken off the bill (unopened). Server refused and made a problem about it refusing to take them back and off the bill. Eventually agreed to but made us leave after this (which was fine, we were had no plans to spend any more money at this awful establishment after this treatment) Awful customer service.

Location: Witzli-Poetzli is located in a super central aerea, next to the cathedral! It’s cozy, informal, out of time I would say :) not so many tables available, but it’s still fine! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! I'm giving the second star because the place itself is beautiful. We just had our wedding. There were some issues down the line and the attitude of the people working there is awful. If you have any problems or they make a mistake they became defensive and refuse to find a working solution. The place is also very expensive for what it is. They also add the btw at the end of their offer, so it's difficult to do a good estimation of the prices. They charge 100 euros for "drukwerk" which is 10 small pieces of paper with your menu on it. 200 euros for flowers which is maybe a small bouquet worth. Their open bar is limited unless you love beer - in which case, they have 14 kinds or so. Very limited types of sodas or other drinks. Examples of what we have experienced - Mistakes in their offer -Forgot that we are going to attend a tasting: we were only informed that they forgot we are coming once we arrived at the venue -Missing items from our menu (They made up some excuse/fake explanation afterwards) -Lack of experience with timing and anticipation -Our cake was not provided by the venue itself, but through another well known bakery (tip: starts with a M, has at least 3 locations). We ordered a cake for 67 people and had 58 guests (ourselves included) and somehow the Serre managed to only cut 40 slices (as per the event manager). The slices were huge but they state that this is "standard" size. -We asked if vegetarian dishes would be an option and they said no problem, however after the food meeting, there was a lot of issues and back-and-forth. They could have just asked to clarify the point that were unclear to them. -We were intrested to have a drinks paid as per consumption instead of paying for an open bar. They confirmed that this was an option, however when we requested the price of the drinks we were told that " it's like the prices in a caffe". We insisted to provide the list with the prices per drink type and got 3 examples. I can go on and on about some smaller things as well. We are usually very patient people and understand that mistakes can be made, but this case we left with a very bitter feeling. I do not recomment this place. Save yourself the headache and do not hire them to organize your party.

Hidden lunch spot behind the botanical garden. Great food with fresh products. Amazing interior and great terrace outside. The look and feel of the terrace appears a little cheap compared to the luxurious interior.

Bit out of the way of the center of town but walkable. Taproom inside plus a large outdoor courtyard for nice days. The flight of beer is 5 pours at 15cL each, preselected for you. They have some special beers available only on tap that are worth trying that you won't find in stores.

Great ambiance and refreshingly local vibe, tucked just outside the tourist-heavy zones. Ordering was a bit confusing—no English menu at the bar, and we only found the QR code at the table after choosing one (which you’ll need for food delivery). The server seemed drained despite the early hour, which didn’t help the mood. I always enjoy a beer flight to explore a brewery’s range, but here it’s preselected and lacked variety—mostly similar styles, served a bit too warm and flat. Could be a keg or line issue. Still, worth a visit if you’re nearby and want a taste of Antwerp without the crowds.

The staff was very friendly, but there must be something wrong with the management of this place. We had to wait 1,5h for our food, although we reserved our order & tables quite a few days in advance. The food was mediocre: fries were lukewarm and stew was quite dry and definitely reheated a few times. Portions are also not really filling.

Came here yesterday for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the cozy terrace in the back of the brewery. There are even barbecues which you can use for your own meat! They forgot my friend’s reservation for 20 people though, but they solved that well by giving everyone a free taster. The beers are delicious as well the beer cocktails! Highly recommended!

Industrial look. Taproom practically ín the brewery. Roomy but cozy. Great beers, especially the IPA and the Nonkel Pater (dark strong beer) are worth tasting. Also tasty snacks available. Great for groups. A bit outside the city center.

One of the best cafes to enjoy beers. Very competitively priced. When they realized we didn't know what we were doing, they asked if we wanted the best beer, we said yes and they suggested Westmalle triple and Rochefort Triple. As someone who had never had Belgian beer before, it was literally the best beer I had in my life. I went to a grocery shop afterwards and took a pack of it back.

So charming and memorable ❤️ Welcoming to locals and visitors alike. The bar tenders are so kind, and the local regulars are very welcoming, even to foreign tourists. By the end of my week in Antwerp I felt like a neighborhood local thanks to this charming cafe !

The staff was very friendly! We showed up late and missed our reservation block but they were very accommodating and squeezed us in a little later on. And of course the cats are the star of the show and it was nice to visit with them.

Beautiful building! “When visiting the ground floor, be sure to take a look at the walls above the negotiation rooms: these are covered with large maps of the world, in oil on canvas. These unique paintings were painted in situ, between 1879 and 1884, by Captain at sea Ghesquière, who also signed and dated them all separately. The maps depict, in great detail, the different parts of the world with which Antwerp was trading at the time. They also show the then trade routes, over land and sea. Ghesquière's work was not only accurate but also quite innovative: on some maps, he added a kind of 'pop-up', which helps the viewer to zoom in on specific areas. Spectacular building. And if you're staying at the Sapphire House Hotel, it's right next door. It's free to wander around but only open on the weekends for the public. Well worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.

Stunning, magnificent, jaw dropping architecture. This building is full of history. It was where trade first took place. If you enjoy architecture, design and history, this is a must destination. It’s very near the city and so easily accessible. There are chairs at the centre and a tiny (mini bar) for drinks which you can purchase. Google will give a comprehensive history and relevance of this building for better appreciation. I was happy I was able to step into this building, admire and be a part of the space even if it’s just for a few minutes.

The server drop a good portion of my food "on the floor" while serving. That's okay! Everyone makes mistakes. But he never showed up on my table again to make it right! Another server cleaned the floor. She also took no attempt to make it right. 🙂

Amazing event venue with spectacular architecture and deep history.

A very good experience to watch movie here but the speakers weren't working well by the end of the movie and seemed distorted. Curved screen was a bonus to have over here in Europe.

Easy to book the tickets on line, well equipped shop and very helpful and nice staff. The screen, sound and all the effects from 4DX are amazing, so much fun and perfect visual experience. Even though the seats are a bit tired and in general a little bit refreshment could be done I would definitely go back there. Easy to het there by the tram and parking availabke for car users.

Mainstream cinema complex. With popular events or movies it can get a bit crowded near the entrance. Easily accessible with public transportation.

I enjoyed the ambiance of the location. It offers a pleasant view, and there's a cafe where you can enjoy your time while waiting to enter the hall for your movie. Ample parking is available, and if you're fortunate, you can easily access it. The interior of the cinema is engaging, featuring activities for both kids and adults. I had a delightful time with a cup of coffee at D.E café, where the staff spoke English, facilitating communication for non-Dutch speakers. However, it was disheartening to witness some visitors littering from the restroom to the hall and beyond. I hope the staff takes measures to address this issue. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed the film and commend the efforts of Kinepolis Antwerp

Best place for the movies around Antwerp. IMAX is amazing. Good movie experience. You won't get parking easily in the evenings. But there are options nearby.

Waagnatie is a beautiful venue by the river, perfect for events. We visited for the SuperNova event and enjoyed the spacious and well-organized setup. Parking can be limited, so it’s wise to arrive early. Fortunately, electric charging was available, which was a big plus! Overall, a great location for events with a scenic view.

I have been to many Waagnatie events and exhibitions before and every single one of them were great! The old hangars has offer huge spacious halls and make all events special. Last event I have been to was the Van Gogh exhibition, Waagnatie was the perfect setting for this!

Lots of people in a nice and good accessible area. Really enjoyed it the last time I was there. The only downside is that there are no barriers near the river which is very close which is quite dangerous especially at night.

Went here because it was one of the most reviewed bars and I absolutely understand why! Firstly the staff were the most polite and sweet people we’ve met in Antwerp and the drinks options were absolutely great! I really recommend the “One night in Bangkok”!! We will be coming back for sure!

We went here twice in one day Stopped in because it looked interesting inside. Sat at the bar where Nathan made us his version of a negroni that he will use in the finals of the compari bartender competition. One of 10 to compete for best in Belgium. It was delicious. Seriously, my new favorite drink. We had a great time talking with him and Stefano. Meeting people like them is why we travel. Definitely recommend. Will return.

As Mexican in Europe, what a Bloody Mary!! What a mezcal cocktail and the atmosphere, nice music, great waiters , yup a bit pricey but I think are European prices tbh , worth every penny.

Amazing place to try some authentic Belgian beers in Antwerp - they have a wide range in the menu. I tried two of them on the recommendation of the bar owner - Zinnebir and Lupulus Blonde. Both of them were really good! The vibe is pretty nice and the staff is super friendly!

A fantastic craft beer bar in Antwerp. The staff are very knowledgeable about the range of beers available (12 taps and plenty of bottle and cans in fridges) and there are tasty food choices available too.

I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon, it was very laid back. The staff was cool, and the atmosphere was nice. They have a really great selection of beer here. I think 10ish beers on tap and then many, many more bottles. I'm not all that into sours, but they appeared to have a really wide array if you're hunting some of the ones that are harder to find outside of the EU. Fun place to have a few beers!

Cracking Belgium beer bar! I'm a long time lover of Belgium's many brews, and this place didn't disappoint! A great selection of bottles and draught beers, and a nice selection of nibbles that perfectly accompany the beverages on offer. The barman Manu was very knowledgeable and passionate about the beers, and recommended some beers that were right up my street. If your in Antwerp it's definitely worth a visit 👍🏻

I went there on a thursaday and i I really enjoyed the location! The music is okay aswell but the drinks are quite expensive... But at one point the security guard with brown/blonde hair and a beard started to dance with my friend very closely! She didn't wanted him to do that and i think it's absolutely inappropriate to dance with women that close as a security guard! Their job is to protect women from men doing this and not to do that themselves!

I visited Red & Blue in Antwerp on a Thursday and the environment was quite lively and vibrant. The music and atmosphere were enjoyable, creating a good vibe for those looking to unwind. However, I was a bit surprised to find that even though they advertise free entrance, some people are still charged to get in. It feels a bit misleading and could be more transparent. Overall, it's a fun spot, but just be prepared for the possibility of unexpected charges.

20€ the ticket, 2€ the locker and funny thing what you will only see when you go upstairs the freaking toilet costs 0,50€ and of course you can only pay by cash. The worst club where i ever was. The drinks was low quality, the music was horrible, and there was literally nobody, but if you want to waste your money this is a perfect place for you! I would give zero star if this would be possible!

The cocktails were tasty—nothing mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable. What I loved most was the outdoor seating in the little garden area, with trees and very comfortable spots to sit. It’s a perfect place for socializing. The lady working there was welcoming, and the whole atmosphere felt inviting. I’d go back, both for the vibe and to try more of their drinks.

What a hidden gem ! It's a very beautiful place to have a drink and very chill as well. Beautifully designed and the server was super kind and nice! I find that it is very rare to have this kind of hospitality, not needing to ask for water (very nice when you're drinking alcohol!). Highly recommended for a good time and a good drink! 🫶🏼

My client organizes an event yearly in this venue. We are always well received and the staff is very accomodating. Our guests are always very happy with this venue. Parking availabilty could be improved slightly.

The club doesn’t look that good at all, the sound system has really low quality, it’s too small and general atmosphere and lights are not good at all. It’s more like a bar than a dance club.

This place used to be nice, but has become overcrowded steadily since the last months/years..making it less comfortable and often too hot/unpleasant in there. Prices have gone up and are really expensive, too much people most of the times and thus less attractive/interesting to visit. Good thing is you don't have to worry about pickpocket or stealing, really nice people there and a safe environment. Security is present and is really friendly but also really helpful.

Worst bar I have ever experienced. Really expensive bar compared to poor drinks. Unpleasant bouncer who claimed to be owner did not want to let some people in for no reason. Choose another student bar. There is a lot of them in the town.

Worst student bar in town. Expect to wait upwards from 30 mins to order drinks even when the bar is empty. The toilets are terrible if you are a woman or need to do a number 2 you are better of doing it in the street. Bar is also often frequented by elderly men trying to get with young students or borderline harassing them. Also the most expensive student bar in town They have fun parties sometimes, that is the only redeeming factor but if you have a choice go somewhere else.

Very nice club. But they don’t have a good airco. Really warm. They should also increase the capacity for female toilets. Because they wait way longer than men. And finally they need to put anti slip on the stairs because people fall down.

Best club of Antwerp with the best names throughout the year for sure. The club is based inside a bridge under the train rails. This really gives you a bunker underground feeling which perfectly matches with some techno beats. Overall there is a lot of house and techno names, but from time to time there are hiphop and RnB nights. The entrance usually is around 15 euros which is ok, bit expensive but payable. Though, the thing that really bothers me that they really need to charge for going to the toilet.. Please Ampere, be a bit human and get rid of the toilet fee, because everyone dislikes it. The lockers are a good idea but always a hassle to exchange my change to a 2 euro coin. Would be good if there was a coin changer. Fix this and it’ll get more five stars. 😊

A great club and a great mood ! The music selection is quite original for Belgium and the sound system is amazing ! A must !

The sound system only works well if you're close to the DJ. If you are in the corners, you miss it a lot. Also, they don't care at all with people smoking on the dancefloor. If you are a non-smoker like me, that's a no-go. Felt horrible being forced to take all that bad smoke, despite being against the law. Not excited to return.

Went back to Ampere for the first time in 3 years. Last time I went it was for Pan Pot, music was amazing but there were a lot of shortcomings. Just went back for dettman/faki and it was so good. First of all the line up was insane, it was a great cohesive story. Then honestly the rest of the facilities are top. Bathrooms are clean throughout the night (no idea how they manage that) the locker space upstairs was so clean even at the end of the night it’s not a problem to completely change. Will be back. Hopefully they have more minimal techno djs on the planning

I went here to celebrate "5 years of Ampere" With dj "Laurent Garnier ",it was so good,the music,the people,the atmosphere,everything came together this night,and I had such a good night because,my favorite,dj also signed my shirt,so many thanks to every body for this night🙏🤍

I need to start from mentioning that club itself is small, so if you don’t like small crowded spaces.. anyways music was not to hard which was great for our liking, toilets are paid, nothing special for a club these days, but if you paying already for the entrance? also at least in that price you could of give a tap water for free, you know what kind of club you running and that people need to drink more 😵‍💫 great idea with the Photo Booth, also overpriced but at least we have something back we don’t think that we will come back

Excellent vibe, chill mix crowd. The only negative thing is the locker payment system. Since there is barely any signal inside we were trying arrange online payment of lockers many many times, we made it, but it was frustrating start. Still and all would do it again

Totally love the screens and staff, very friendly and cool. The only thing is the sound system. It sounds like it has some sort of limiter. The buildups are very loud en the when the drop hits, the volume goes down. This was fixed around 2 months ago. But now it's even worse than before. Edit: they apparently fixed the problem, so gave it a star back. Great place 🫶🏻

Let's start with the wardrobe, paying via QR code in a club where the signal is bad, charged for two lockers, the code never arrived... The door staff didn't care about my complaint. A bit expensive, but that's not a problem. The problem is that they sell medicated alcohol instead of gin, I had severe stomach pain for 2 days from their 'Beefeater' which has never happened to me. The atmosphere is totally ok, the music is not too loud and the vibe is totally cool. So introduce wifi (20€ was entrance) and stop poisoning people with cheap alcohol selling as branded.

Entrance crazy expensive, souless techno and psyrance music.

Amazing, small club in the basement of the building, very underground feeling. Most of the time techno, sometimes also playing R&B. (Check calendar at their website) Downside is that the entrance is usually 10 euros, even if you come at 5 for the afterparty. Drinks are rather expensive, but not more expensive than other clubs.

Small club but had the best experience there. Friendly staff whom are very helpful. Bathrooms are neat and organized. The smoking room is very small. The club isn’t that dark but have cool lights :)

Fantastic bar. Cocktails are out of this world. Wouter and partner are doing this for the love of cocktails. Super friendly service, vibe and ambiance! We live in Miami, FL and this bar would be the hottest place in Miami! Cheers!

They know how to make a good cocktail, but so does all the other bars at 't Zuid. Here I'm missing personal contact with the bartender, it's always fun to learn the story behind the cocktail. But hey... Still a good place you've to check out!

The most amazing cocktails in town...and super expensive. Well..but that can do because this is the unique experience and cocktails you will drink there you will probably never ever have. To be back.

We came here and were waved off because it was raining and they decided to close early. Owners wouldn’t come out to say when they would be open, or just have the courtesy to acknowledge the inconvenience. Waste of my time. Thanks a bunch.

Ahhh, we are so happy to enjoy the fabulous Sip's cocktails! - so so tasty! Lovely (refreshed) environment - both inside the bar, including the fun music as a background, as well as outside! Your drinks will be accompanied by a glass of naturally flavoured water, and should you use the bathroom - your hands will be left with a nice smell...those little things that make an experience even more special :) The new park across the terrace of the bar is another reason why to sit down and have a drink: your eyes can sink into greenery and into the people walking around. If you have kids along - even easier, they can play across at the playgrounds while you take care of your adult's needs ;)

Great selection of cocktails and hard liquor. Menu is quite extensive so you will need some time to go through the menu. It is just a small bar, so I would advice to make reservations for a group of 4 to 6 people. However a place for two can be (sometimes) found. Signature cocktails are highly recommended!

Join the real “Antwerpenaars” for a drink on the Place de l’Apero » in Coyote Cafe. Bordering the red light district, next to St. Paul’s Church. Unpretentious and sympathetic cafe. Great terrace for when the sun is out.

I'm glad we found this place. A bit more outside of the busy city center, calm and cozy, fancy interior, good music. Cocktails were delicious, huge variety. Definitely recommended!

An interesting spot in a very pretty part of the city. The cocktails are on the pricier side starting at more or less €13. The quality of the drinks, however, is great. We enjoyed our Lazy Red Cheeks and Ipanema Swizzle. Both drinks had a balanced flavor. Overall, their menu is quite rich so there's a lot to choose from. Aside from cocktails, they also have mocktails, wines and champagnes, as well as a very limited choice of bites. I think it's a shame they don't offer more bar bites, as this would make the whole experience complete. We got seated outside which was quite enjoyable as we could enjoy the views but our original plan was to sit inside since the interior looked cozy and thus very inviting. Nevertheless, it was not possible for us to be seated inside on that day for some reason. I assume it was because the staff couldn't attend people both inside and outside. In general, it was a positive experience and I would definitely visit this place again to try more of their creations.

Very quaint bottle shop with a few beers on tap (and growlers!) as well. We love coming here and stocking up on beers. Very nice selection, all beers can be found in their website as well. There is very limited seating as they are primarily a bottle shop, but if you're lucky you might score a seat. Would recommend coming here even for the atmosphere alone!

Good cocktails but we had to wait 15 min for waiter to take order and next 10 min for receiving it. It wouldnt be bad if not the extremely loud music! For a place where no-one dances this was ridiculous. We were sitting in 4 and couldn't hear a word. Not coming back.

Great location with an amazing view. We were looking for a place to enjoy the sun until sunset, this place absolutely delivered. The vibe is super chill, the staff is friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. There’s even a chef grilling on an Ofyr. Easy ordering via QR or the staff. Def worth a stop when you’re in Antwerp!

Unfortunately we didn't get to drink here, asked 3 waiters if we could order all of whom apparently didn't take orders but would send someone over. No one ever actually came, we got up and left in the end. Plenty of other lovely bars in the area.

I made a reservation to have a dinner table for 4 people and have a nice stay there and when we arrived all the tables were reserved they told us we could sit in places without a table anything when we went especially to eat, the employee who was the hostess said that the reservation did not matter Because according to their concept it was to sit where it was empty and they had taken all the tables for their friends for the opening, does that mean that the reservation is not important? I never understood it, very bad service. I would never return and I do not recommend it

Service was very slow. We had to wait about half an hour before we could order every time. Some waiters were more interested in talking to girls than serving people.

The tiniest venue ever, which is perfect for someone like me who gets overwhelmed by big crowds. I was concerned that the stage is so low, but it was actually quite perfect. The place was ideal for the gig I attended because of how easy it was for the bands to interact with their fans. The sound system was well adjusted to the size of the place, so it was nice and loud, but not deafening. The staff were very polite and helpful. I was there in November and the temperature inside was perfect. Clean toilets. There are small lockers to store your stuff (for 2 euro), which is MUCH better than cloakrooms most venues offer, where they are usually closed, you have to line up for ages, and they lose your stuff. One star off because it was not clear where to line up for the gig, which was a bit upsetting since I'd waited outside in the rain (you are supposed to go into the building and line up there, not wait outside).

This is a very nice venue for small scale concerts or parties. The location is perfect being virtually in the city centre and next to a big underground car park. The bar has reasonable prices, but there's nothing to eat. Be aware that the cloak room is unguarded so don't take any valuable possessions with you, which you don't want to keep on you all night. Free WiFi is available.

I just saw Orla Gartland here and while everything else about the show and the general atmosphere of the venue was great, the inside was like a sauna. Even Orla herself said she was melting. This was during only slightly above average outside temperatures for an evening in April (17°C-ish). Opening the door to the garden and even bringing a fan on stage in the middle of the show barely helped. I came early to have a good spot but ended up having to move all the way to the back; I’m surprised nobody fainted (that I know of). Having what seems like no air conditioning of any sort in this sort of venue is downright irresponsible, and especially in times of covid proper ventilation should probably be looked into?

First time at Woom (NTO), great club Music quality is fine (some changes were made apparently after complaints initially), the visuals are insane, and toilets / bar / lockers are convenient. Downside : not crowded at all, which is not the same vibe as a packed club - so i hope they gain some more popularity, and music stops at 4am

The best co-working spot in the city! We really love our office there! The community managers are always there to help, always happy to see us, always planning some community event! It is never boring at Dunden!! The community itself is great! All like-minded people, always open for a chat or help out when needed. If you visit Dunden, you will never forget. Also go out for a relaxing walk in our own "private" garden, the Botanical garden!
