Ain Soph. Journey Shinjuku is a part of the Ain Soph vegan restaurant chain and offers a varied menu of plant-based and gluten-free options. Unlike its fast food counterpart, this branch provides an extensive selection of dishes including Gluten-Free Pasta Lunch and Heavenly Pancakes. The English menus with detailed ingredient and allergen information make it stand out in Japan. The cozy ambiance makes it a charming spot for a date while enjoying wholesome vegan cuisine.
The food was super fresh and absolutely delicious — you could really tell a lot of care went into every dish. The presentation was gorgeous, and everything looked just as good as it tasted. The service was fantastic — friendly, on point, and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. Definitely one of those meals that sticks with you.

Tucked away behind an unassuming door is this vegan restaurant serving an assortment of world and Japanese cuisine. The ambiance is very chic and inviting. They didn't have much in terms of alcohol, but I did enjoy the matcha beer. Noodles are made of rice and were very flavorful, and not spicy. My cutlets were crunchy and delightful. This is not a spot to experience Japanese food and a vegan, but more of a respite from the pork and bonito flake laden world out there!
Ashwin M — Google review
My wife and I ate so much here. They have multiple menus with so much to choose from. It’s always very overwhelming (in the best way) when you’re Vegan and can eat anything on the menu. We got the matcha beer and lemon beers. They were good! The lemons were grown locally in Hiroshima. We were debating getting one of the courses but decided to make our own. We got the vegetable tortilla rolls, cold tofu noodles in creamy mala sesame sauce, teriyaki deep-fried soy chicken on rice, and the heavenly pancakes! It was all great! Honestly, the heavenly pancakes are not lying. They really stole the show. We need to figure out how to make these at home now. They were so fluffy and perfect. All of the other dishes were phenomenal too. It’s the type of place with LOTS of options and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Get what you’re feeling! Share! Try a lot! We had such a great time.

Best gluten free & veg. meal I ate in Tokyo! Seriously delicious. I ate the parfait salad (best nutritarian option because it comes with the dressing on the side). Then I indulged in their Heavenly Pancake, which did not disappoint! The restaurant is located at street level, midway between the two street corners (halfway down the block from either corner). I HIGHLY recommend this spot — check my other Tokyo eating posts by clicking on my reviews — this place is the BEST for healthy gluten free options!

Small and cozy restaurant with several tables for larger groups. Vegan food was very accessible and fresh - not overly complicated. Food served with style and fair. We had the pancake meal with soup and salad. Very good!
Kathy H — Google review
This was phenomenal. We had been in the Isetan dept store in Shinjuku, salivating at the offerings in the food hall and lamenting there was nowhere to sit and eat. So we came here and had one of the treats of the trip. It’s in a cute venue with old timber floor boards and we first went down and up stairs to be seated. The food is vegan and was just great. We shared a deep fried soy ‘Chicken’ main with salad and a pancake desert with non- dairy ice cream. We aren’t vegan but venues like this will help the cause. Amazing.
Allen P — Google review
Disappointing, wayyyyyy overpriced, simply bad. We ordered two dishes and two drinks altogether. First came the tortilla rolls. They came after a while, and they were COLD FROM THE FRIDGE with plastic wrap(??). If they didn’t even bother to warm it up, why the long wait? Maybe that sad serving would have been forgiven if the taste was spectacular, but it tasted like it was bought from a supermarket. The ingredients inside weren’t something special or rare so don’t let them fool you. Mind you, MOST OF IT WAS LETTUCE, and we paid 2100(!) yen for that. Of course, it wasn’t even filling in any way. So to sum it, we could have bought it from the supermarket fridge at maybe 500 yen and save our time and money. Probably 15 minutes AFTER we got the sad tortilla, the teriyaki chicken on rice came. I want to talk about how inconsiderate it is to bring the second dish after that time period. We had to share the tortilla so it wouldn’t be that embarrassing to wait to eat together. Anyway, I couldn’t finish the dish. From here, it’s subjective- I think the flavors and the textures, plus the way they serve the whole dish in a bowl (in the menu, it looks like a plate), were bad choices all along. At first bite, the chicken with the mayo (not with the avocado, which had zero salt or seasoning) was ok. But then the flavors became too weird in my mouth, especially with the strong brown rice flavor. It just didn’t work. The drinks we ordered were, at most, ok. But the glass sizes were RIDICULOUS for the price and what the actual drinks were. I wish I could support this place, but the way they view customers is like laughing at your face in my opinion. I think the raving reviews from others is because vegan people are so used to pay double in restaurants for food that is just mediocre at best.

Brunch restaurant
Mercer Brunch Roppongi is a popular spot in Japan, especially for those who enjoy American brunch classics. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including French toast and eggs during the day and meat mains at night. With its outdoor seating and brioche French toast menu featuring ingredients like grilled salmon, sausages, and steak, it's an ideal place to kick off your day.
I’ve heard so much about MERCER BRUNCH—ever since they opened a branch in Taiwan—but I thought it was worth flying to Tokyo to try the original. As the first guests to be seated, the staff let us freely pick a spot, so we chose a bright window-side table. The dining room has a cozy fireplace in the center, flanked by two armchairs, while the windows are lined with two- and four-person tables. The décor feels like a modern European countryside style. When all the dishes came out, the table looked like a little garden—colorful and lively. The French toast, soaked through with custard yet seared to a dry, lightly crisp surface, came on a small plate of its own. A big bowl of salad was piled high with super fresh, crunchy vegetables. My white sausage was nicely browned and served on a Sicilian-style ratatouille of eggplant, tomato, bell peppers, and olives. The French toast really stole the show. My partner also makes this type of fluffy, crispy-edged toast at home, but never with slices this thick. Here, every bite was soaked in custard, pan-seared to a golden exterior, and the inside stayed soft and silky—almost like the filling of a egg tart. Absolutely delicious!

Our experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we felt a genuine effort to accommodate our needs as Muslims. Not only did they offer suitable options, but they also went the extra mile to adjust the menu to meet our dietary requirements—something we deeply appreciate. The waitress (yamazaki )was incredibly kind and made a great effort to assist us, translating the menu and ensuring clear communication. The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was on another level. I truly admire restaurants that respect and value their guests, making every effort to provide them with exactly what they need. Highly recommended!
Shaima S — Google review
We had brunch and ordered the French toast with buttermilk fried chicken and the French toast with steak. The proteins were really good. We were first served an extremely doughy French toast, and when we mentioned it, we were told, 'that's the way we do it', even though other guests received properly cooked portions. The response felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially considering the price. However, after asking again, they brought out a new one, which was much better. This clearly showed that the first one was undercooked. And if it's really the way they do it, they should declare it as 'soft-core' french toast, or similar. It's disappointing to be met with pushback instead of proper service, especially at this price point. For what you're paying, you’d expect consistency and a more professional attitude.

MERCER BRUNCH Roppongi is a stylish spot that’s great for a relaxed meal or simply passing the time before heading elsewhere. The café has a modern, comfortable atmosphere with a nice mix of casual and chic, making it an easy place to settle in. The menu offers a good selection of brunch favorites—well-presented and satisfying. Service was efficient, and the overall vibe makes it a pleasant stop if you’re in the area. For me, it was the perfect place to spend some time before attending mass nearby. A nice option in Roppongi when you want a cozy brunch experience in a convenient location.

We went here for brunch. Poor customer service. We order salmon grilled with eggs, grilled daisen chicken with eggs and staub pot tomato stew of minced meat and eggplant. This three set come with french toast. The egg is over cook. Daisen chicken got burnt taste and bitter. Then we complain and get a new set of Daisen chicken but it was tasteless. Better than the first one which is burnt and bitter taste. Lucky the salmon was grilled nicely and tatse not bad. The staub pot tomato stew of minced meat and eggplant cook well but the egg is over cook. The french toast taste nice. Price is on the high side.

We had a nice brunch for the birthday of a friend and the place was perfect for a brunch, the food was good and the decorations are elegant! We were able to order a shortcake for the birthday which was really convenient 😊
Kimberley J — Google review
Mercer Brunch exceeded our expectations from the moment we stepped in. My wife and I were greeted warmly and seated in the midst of a chic yet relaxed ambiance. As we perused the menu, we were intrigued by the fusion of New York-style brunch with West Coast influences. For starters, my wife opted for the Salmon Tartar, a dish bursting with freshness and flavor. The Avocado & Poached Egg with Dill Sauce she chose was a delightful combination of creamy avocado, perfectly poached egg, and subtle dill undertones. Each bite was a symphony of taste and texture. I, on the other hand, couldn't resist the allure of Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Eggs over easy. The chicken was expertly fried to golden perfection, with tender meat encased in a crispy coating. Paired with eggs cooked just right, it was a hearty and satisfying dish that left me craving more. To complement our brunch, we indulged in champagne, as suggested by the ambiance and the spirit of the occasion. The effervescence of the champagne elevated our meal, adding a touch of luxury to an already unforgettable experience. In summary, Mercer Brunch provides a delightful culinary experience that is both indulgent and comforting. Its innovative menu and elegant atmosphere make it a destination worth visiting.

I was worried about coming here after reading some reviews, but we had a great time. The environment is picturesque and clean. It was a great place to just sit and talk. The food was good but definitely nothing groundbreaking. I would say if you want somewhere to talk over a visually pleasing meal and some nice cocktails, then this place is definitely perfect for it.

Creperie

Sweet Box 2 is a popular spot in Harajuku, known for its delicious crepes that are worth the wait. Despite the potential line, orders are ready in just 3-5 minutes. The crepes come in a variety of flavors and can be customized with numerous toppings. They strike a balance between not being overly sweet or filling, making them just right to satisfy your hunger. While prices are reasonable for the quality, they may be slightly expensive due to the touristy location.
Sweet Box 原宿店 is a must-try spot for crepe lovers! The shop located opposite daiso. It offers a wide variety of crepes, and there’s almost always a queue—but it moves pretty quickly. We tried the custard banana chocolate with cream for ¥720, and it was delicious! Perfectly balanced and not too sweet. A great treat while exploring Harajuku!
Billy L — Google review
We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a queue of at least 20 people in front of us. It was probably one of the most prominent Crepes shops given that it is conveniently located on the approximately 100 m away from the main entrance of the street. Despite the queue we managed to place our orders in 10 minutes. They're on there was another queue for collection of our purchase.. and despite the many orders, we got our crepes within 5 minutes. What set this shop apart was as many options of crepes that included hot, cold & iced, >50 menu options. We got the cheesecake chocolate banana. The cream was really milky and probably the highlight of the crepe. The cheesecake was pretty disappointing given the quality of cheese tarts and cheesecake in Tokyo. Suggest to walk further down the street for the other options of crepes for further options, although you won't go too wrong ordering from this shop
Hong W — Google review
Easy to find from JR Harajuku Stetion. Serving is really huge (for 2 pax). Variety of flavors from sweet to savory crepes. Worth the visit!
Alexander J — Google review
Touristy? Yes, but almost a requirement when here. Granted we got shaved ice instead of a crepe. There is a large selection of crepes, including some odd savory ones like tuna pizza.
Nathan P — Google review
Super yum! Great to eat in the blazing humid heat! Totally worth purchasing, just sucks that there is no bins at the store to throw out your rubbish.
Rebecca G — Google review
Sweet Box in Harajuku is such a cute crepe place! Their selection is very large and we loved all of the flavors they had!
Adriana F — Google review
So many variants, fast service too. The place is in the corner of takshita street, in front of daiso. The taste was nice because the weather so hot
Rini R — Google review
The food at Sweet Box 2 was fantastic, and the service was impressively quick, even with a decent line of customers. They have a small seating area next to the store that can only accommodate 6–8 people, so there weren’t enough seats for everyone. We tried the sweet crepe with mixed fruits and ice cream, and it was absolutely delicious—definitely worth a try! Overall, it’s a great spot for a quick bite, but having more seating would really enhance the experience.

Micasadeco & Cafe Jingumae is a popular spot in Tokyo, especially for pancake enthusiasts. Known for its ultra-fluffy ricotta pancakes, it's a must-visit for those who appreciate this breakfast favorite. The cafe also offers regular pancakes and a diverse lunch and weekend brunch menu featuring salads, risottos, and omelettes. The interior of the small Harajuku joint beautifully blends modern style with traditional Japanese architecture.
⭐ Worth the Wait for Fluffy Pancakes & Great Coffee! We arrived about 25 minutes before Micasadeco & Cafe Jingumae opened, and a small line had already formed. We got in right at opening, but plan for a slight wait, as the food took around 20 minutes to arrive. However, the pancakes were absolutely delicious—super yummy and incredibly fluffy! The coffee was also delicious and the perfect pairing. Just be aware that the prices are definitely "European" (on the higher side). By the time we left, the queue was very long. Highly recommend if you are craving top-tier Japanese soufflé pancakes and a great brew!
Andrea C — Google review
We went on a Wednesday afternoon at around 1 pm and had to wait 30 ish minutes to get inside. Once we got inside, it takes another 30 minutes for them to make the fluffy pancakes - they make everything fresh. So don't come here hungry :) Once you get the pancakes though - WOW! So delicious! So fluffy and so light. The flavour is great. They even use maple syrup from Canada which is cool since that’s where we're from and we actually use the same one at home. This is a touristy place BUT so worth the wait! Prices are a bit high (about $18-20 CAD per fluffy pancake) but at least it’s yummy!
K S — Google review
It is a must try if you are visiting Japan. The pancakes are so fluffy that is really nice sensation in your mouth through every bite. The staff is very attentive and kind, the atmosphere is so calm and the music gives you that vibes to chill and enjoy the moment forgetting everything else around. The matcha latte is so tasty. Tip: Come with time, the fluffy pancakes take a considerable amount of time ti be ready so you need to order and patiently wait, I would come back again!
Ares H — Google review
Arrived on Friday morning 20min before they opened at 11am. I was the first in line but the line definitely grew after. Its best to arrive 15-20min early or you will wait an hour. The soufflé pancakes were amazing. I ordered the ricotta cheese, which was like a nice cream cheese filling within the pancakes. I have to say this us the best I have ever had! Paired with a villa ice cream it was perfect. And don’t forget a latte. This is one of the top lattes I’ve had around Tokyo and I make it a mission to seek out coffee shops everywhere I travel. I highly recommend coming here and then enjoying Cat Street right after- such great vibes and far less crowded.
T M — Google review
A must-do when in Tokyo — and these pancakes definitely lived up to the hype! We arrived around midday and joined a short queue, all patrons waiting in excited anticipation. To our delight, we were seated soon after. Orders were taken while we waited in line, so our mouth-watering pancakes arrived quickly once we sat down. Definitely worth the wait and a highlight of our trip.
Sanables — Google review
It took around 40 mins on the line to wait for the table and another 30 mins (approx) to make a pancake. I love the pancakes here, it’s so fluffy and soft texture. You can see from how they prepare the eggs and flour at the station that explains why it takes time to serve one portion. If you see the add-on syrup, no need to select it as it’s included. We did select it as unnecessary as it is the one they have enough. In my view, it’s worth waiting and trying it as it’s special.
Miki T — Google review
Traveled a bit far just to try this pancake place which was a little difficult to find as it's located off the Main Street. The pancakes were absolutely delicious & well plated however it took 35mins for it to be served I almost passed out, I have never waited this long for a pancake. Apparently they run out of batter so the chef had to make a fresh batch & the owner was very apologetic about it but still would've been nice to know what was happening. I suggest to give yourselves plenty of time when going to this place as you might end up waiting as long as I did. The pancakes were so beautifully plated and oh so fluffy that I'm willing to give this place another chance.
Jho B — Google review
It was a long wait to get in, and then had to wait 30 minutes for them to make the fluffy ricotta pancakes. Both waits were clearly advertised and totally worth it. I will go again, and get the same thing. lt would be cool if you could order ahead while in line. I feel they could really increase the turnover and serve more very happy customers.

Takeout Restaurant
Restaurant
Bricolage Bread & Co. is a relaxed cafe and bakery located near Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, offering artisanal French bread, international snacks, and coffee. The establishment consists of a take-out bread and pastry section, a coffee counter run by Fuglen, and a cozy cafe with outdoor seating under shady sakura trees. The collaboration between a chef, baker, and coffee roaster ensures high-quality ingredients sourced directly from farmers in various regions of Japan.
An old time favorite in Roppongi. This bakery café is great for a quick carb pick-me-up or a leisurely lunch. Bricolage is quite popular so the bakery items are variable depending on demand - it's recommended to go before lunch for the best selection. This latest visit was for lunch – everything is extremely fresh and I would highly recommend the salad, fried chicken and shredded carrots. I’ve also had the Wagyu cheeseburger in the past and it was scrumptious. For my fellow travelers – if you are planning to dine-in, go to the counter to the left of the column to order food and drinks. they will hand you an electronic beeper and then you go into the next room to pick up your food when ready. You also wait for your coffee drinks in front of the coffee bar. The register to the right of the column is for to-go bakery items.

We queued for about 50 minutes, so naturally, I was expecting the food to be mind-blowingly good—something truly worth the wait. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. The overall experience felt a bit average, like something you could easily get at other Western-style cafés. Their signature dishes were decent, but nothing particularly amazing or memorable. The chicken karaage, however, was a standout—crispy, juicy, and flavorful—definitely something the Japanese do exceptionally well. The cacao drink was a bit too sour for my taste, and the dark rum coffee had only a very mild coffee flavor, which was underwhelming. The pudding is also average, and the brown sugar tastes a bit bitter... In summary, it’s a nice café, but only if there’s little to no queue. Otherwise, it feels like a bit of a letdown and not really worth such a long wait.
Ian L — Google review
This place is a bit confusing. It's hard to order pastries and then sit down and eat them. The ordering counter for meals (burgers, sandwiches) is at a different place than the ordering counter for pastries, but we wanted to eat pastries in the restaurant. It feels like decisions need to be made very quickly and there's little explanation of how that should happen properly. It's almost just 2 shops in the same building, where the pastry counter has no menu and you just have to take pictures of what's available if you need time to think. I think we waited about a half hour to order (which was reasonable). The pastries were pretty good/okay. I don't think there's enough butter in all of Japan to actually rival French pastries, so that should not be your bar if you're going here. We tried several different pastries and the best were the financiers and the sausage dog imo. That said, the cafe latte and the brown sugar dessert option were freaking phenomenal. I would definitely go back for those, but not really anything else. The burger was juicy, but mostly drowned in ketchup and too sweet.

May 2025: Visiting from the United States and stayed at the Grand Hyatt nearby. Workers are very friendly. Found this bakery that had amazing coffee and baked goods nearby. Coffee was fabulous with wonderful tasting notes 🎶. I normally add oat milk instead of cream. The restaurant had oat milk as an upgradeable option.👍 My favorite baked goods were the bread 🍞 and the raisin roll. Also tried the avocado 🥑 toast. Stayed at the hotel for six nights and this place was my go-to for coffee and breakfast. Probably stopped by for coffee, pastries and/or bread six different times. On the last day of my vacation, I tried a "pain perdu" which was so delicious. Reminds me of a french toast... And I looked up the name and it's literally french toast 😀. Aside from the delicious bread, this is my new favorite! Will definitely come back again when I am in Tokyo again!

One of the most popular bakery shop in the area, lots of people were queuing pf a seat. For take out, no need to wait. I waited for 20mins for a seat, then ordered. This is my third time here, every menu was delicious, especially the bakery. Coffee is ok. Salad and bread are the best

Came on a Saturday morning around 11:00 am. There was already a line and the staff said it would be around a 20 minute wait for a party of 2. It ended up taking closer to 30. You order from the register and there’s separate ones for the bakery side and food. We ordered the jerk chicken bagel and the eggs Benedict toast. The toast was delicious, and the bagel was also solid. A little pricey but it’s a nice ambiance and good location if you’re around Roppongi hills. Also got a sourdough to go, which was delicious.

The service attitude is bad: the ordering flow was so strange, you have to walk against the flow to check the pastry section after taking the number in another entry. After waiting a while to get a table, I have to walk back to make the order AND the clerk asked me serval times if I have a seat to dine in. I showed her my number ticket and told her I already have one table, then she seemed not believing me and asked me to point out where exactly my seat was. I was traveling solo, how can I put my purse in the outside table and walk back inside to make the order?! Of course I have to carry my purse around, and that does not mean that I don’t have a seat, especially I already told her many times that I already have one seat! Back to the croissant: just average. Crispy but not airy. The dark rum latte is good.

Creperie
Ice cream shop
Marion Crepes, one of the pioneering Japanese crepe shops in Harajuku since 1976, has become a significant influence on the proliferation of crepe shops along Takeshita-dori and its vicinity. Originally a food truck, it settled into its current location on Harajuku's Takeshita-dori in 1977. The shop is renowned for its signature cute and popular crepes that are often seen in the hands of many shoppers in Harajuku.
I had a great experience at Marion Crêpes! The crêpe I ordered tasted delicious with a nice balance of flavors, but I did feel it could have been served a little warmer for that extra fresh, just-made feel. That said, it was still very enjoyable, and the texture was spot on—soft yet perfectly crisp where it needed to be. The staff made the experience even better. The woman who served me was incredibly kind and friendly, which added a personal touch to my visit. Excellent service goes a long way, and she definitely made me feel welcome. Overall, Marion Crêpes delivered a tasty treat and excellent service. If the crêpes were just a touch hotter, it would have been absolutely perfect, but I’m still giving it 5 stars because the quality and service were top-notch. I’ll definitely be back to try more flavors!

Craving a crepe and this hit the spot! The cheesecake was small but altogether with strawberry and whipped cream it tasted good. The staff were very friendly and the crepe was made fairly quick.

We ordered 3 crepes and were disappointed with the quantity given. The strawberry cheesecake ice cream was only solid one with decent quantity, but other two we ordered didn’t have much filling.

Staff was friendly, crepe was ok, flavours such as cheesecake were out. It is not the best but if you’re craving, can find better.

These crepes were so bloody good. Light, fluffy and decadent. It was JUST sweet enough to enjoy but not too sweet it makes you go into sugar overload. Inhaled within 2 minutes. Tried Harajuku crepes in actual Harajuku the day after and it was mighty inferior compared to these crepes. Would recommend/10

Tsukishima Monja Street is a food lover's paradise, offering a wide array of battered and griddled monjayaki pancakes with various toppings. This area is renowned as the birthplace of monjayaki, a beloved local dish in Tokyo. With over 70 restaurants to choose from, visitors can indulge in this unique dining experience where they can cook their own monjayaki on hot plates at their tables.

Japan has a lot of strange and interesting places along with interesting eats. This is one of the interesting eats and interesting places. There are approximately 80 restaurants along the street and they serve a sort of pancake type dish that's fried on the table in front of you or you fry it on the table in front of you. The first time I suggest you ask the restaurant staff to help you out but after that, once you know how to do it and what it's all about then have fun. A friend of mine told me to make sure I hit this street and try the dish/experience. Indeed, it was interesting. Personally, I would suggest you skip the Monja dish.....go to the slightly thicker dish that is very similar. The dishes are usually something like shredded cabbage with a protein and a batter that is fried on a cook surface on the table top. It's still an experience one way or the other and I'm not sure how to rate this. It is not Gourmet dining but as an experience, high four star seems appropriate but definitely try one of the restaurants on the street

Now, if you are stating in Ginza and have a craving for Monja - head here on the bus! Charming street filled with about 80 places to eat - the smells will lead you to the one that is right for you! Yes, you have to make your own dinner - but that's the fun of it, right? Careful - some shops have smoking permitted.

We made a stop here to try monjayaki for the first time before heading to kidzania. Chose to dine at Daruma Monjayaki shop just opposite the Monja street information center. You can always get a guide map from the information center as they have a list of all the shops along the street or make a reservation online before hand. We were short on time so we chose whichever was closest but it was nothing short on experience. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful with ordering. They’ll cook for you on the spot so you can just sit back and relax. Was surprised at the side of it and wondered how can my daughter and me finish it but we managed to finished every bit of it! Will be back again on our next trip to explore more!
Jasmine — Google review
It’s a unique and cool sight to see so many restaurants in close proximity, all competing with the exact same food. No guarantee you can get into any single one, but walk around and you’re sure to find a shop without too much of a wait where you can get some authentic monjayaki.
Jacob N — Google review
Too quiet as a tourist street. 20% of the shops are still closed (probably due to COVID). Very few people walking down and /or eating there. However just before I left, look whom I bumped into! I met the symbol of this island! What a luck!
Flying Q — Google review
Revisiting Tsukishima after five long years has been like flipping through the pages of a cherished photo album, where each memory is a savory delight. The process of cooking Monjayaki is almost ceremonial: you start by artistically arranging a circle of crisp cabbage and your choice of toppings on the hot griddle, a mosaic of colors and textures awaiting transformation. The 'Monja' mixture, a medley of flour, water, and dashi, is then ceremoniously poured into the heart of the cabbage ring. The trick to achieving that perfectly gooey consistency lies in the patience of letting it simmer and blend with the medley of ingredients, stirring with tender care until it reaches the desired thickness. For a nostalgic culinary journey, the ‘Ebi' (shrimp) Monjayaki is a must-try, with its succulent seafood melding into the savory batter, while the 'Cheese' Monjayaki offers a gooey, stretchy experience that pulls at both the heartstrings and chopsticks. And as for Okonomiyaki, the classic 'Buta' (pork) is a timeless choice, with layers of tender meat and batter topped with a dance of bonito flakes, a performance of flavors and textures that's as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. Eating at Tsukishima is not just a meal; it's a hands-on dive into the culinary arts, a place where every sizzle on the griddle marks the rhythm of a city that's alive with flavor and history. So here's a tip for the perfect Monjayaki: let the ingredients tell their story on the griddle, guiding them gently, and they will reward you with a taste of Tokyo's soul.

Located in Odaiba, Tokyo, 'bills Odaiba' is the third Japanese branch of the renowned all-day dining restaurant chain founded by Bill Granger. The restaurant offers an expansive breakfast menu featuring juicy wagyu burgers and the famous fluffy Ricotta pancake. Situated on the ground floor of Aqua City, it boasts spacious indoor and outdoor seating, although there is often a line. Despite this, the wait time is usually manageable.
Bills delivers a top-tier dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh, flavorful dishes that live up to the Australian brunch reputation. From fluffy pancakes to perfectly cooked mains, every bite was a treat. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to unwind. The decor is tranquil, tasteful, and totally on point—modern yet cozy, with a natural, airy feel that elevates the whole experience. If you're looking for a Western style breakfast, Bills in Odaiba is a solid choice. Highly recommend!

Really liked this place! Me and my family went here for breakfast and the sandwiches + the pancakes were divine! They have a vanilla milkshake that is natural vanilla made with authentic Japanese milk. And the food itself is also very authentic itself. Overall I rate everything 5 stars 💗
Fregg K — Google review
Five of the six in our party had the wagyu burger (the only kind of burger on the menu). The patty was thick and juicy, and satisfying to eat. I did, however, get a pretty bad burn when some of the juice/oil came out and dripped on my hand. Not really preventable by the restaurant, but not pleasant, so be careful when eating the burger, I guess. The fries were dry and not crispy at all. The fresh dill pickles were good, but a tad too sweet for my taste. Service was fairly half-hearted. The male waiter who greeted us and to whom we told we had 6 in our party, came to our table something like 10-15 minutes after we sat down to give us 5 sets of utensils. I had to ask for another set. Also, they didn’t give us any menus for awhile and we had to ask them for it. Any halfway decent server, especially at a restaurant in this price range, should give you a menu as they are seating you. The female server who gave us the menus started walking away before someone in our party could even ask a question. Surprisingly inattentive service, especially for Japan.

First time trying Bills, a shop with Australian flare. Coming from the US, honestly my taste is limited. Glad to try Bills and its delicious take on Australian foods plus possibly with subtle Japanese influence, maybe😋. Overall very yummy and relaxing experience. Totally casual. Service team is excellent. Will revisit. FYI, we mostly had desserts and salad since we ate too much during the day tour 🤣. Thanks for being here Bills 🤗

Went on a Thursday evening and there was no wait and we were seated immediately. The atmosphere was great with low lighting and low music, and the restaurant wasn’t full. We were seated in the back as the rest of the customers were with a view of the Rainbow Bridge. Service was 5/5, very kind and attentive whenever we asked to order more or needed other stuff. We ordered their parmesean crumbed chicken, wagyu burger, hot chocolate, dark chocolate cashew mousse, and immunity shots. I had never had a hot chocolate served this way before and it was so good. Make sure to drink it while it’s warm or else the chocolate will harden and separate into small bits. My mom loved the immunity shots and the chicken, but one bit of the chicken was way too firm to cut and she had to pass. The burger tasted great as well and came with herbed fries. Would highly recommend.

Amazing place! Tasty food and nice vibes. The views are amazing too. Service is super and this is a very family friendly place too. I would come here again next time I come to Japan 🇯🇵 ❤️

The restaurant has a very nice ambiance and a charm about it. The staff was nice attentive but the place was packed and our waiter was very bust. I feel like there should have been 1 more waiter on the floor to help since it was so busy. Food was good and the only reason I did not give food and service a 5 was because we waited so long for our food and it came out room temperature so it was obviously siting for a while. Plus the consistency of the cook on the bacon was off as one piece was still very chewy and noticeably under done compared to the other two. Pancakes were very good but again room temperature and could have been better hot. I did like the pork fennel sausage but it also was slightly undercooked. Overall I would recommend.

Sushi restaurant
Izakaya restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Sushizanmai Main Branch is situated in the bustling Tsukiji Market area and is considered the flagship location of this renowned chain. As it operates around the clock, there's a constant stream of patrons, particularly from 7 to 10 pm. Despite a brief wait for a table at 7:30 pm, the diverse clientele, comprising both locals and tourists, created an engaging atmosphere. The use of tablet devices for ordering streamlined the process with visual aids for each dish.
I had the sushi set meal at this restaurant and it was outstanding. Everything was incredibly fresh, from the buttery toro to the perfectly briny uni. The presentation was elegant, and the flavors were clean and well-balanced. A truly satisfying meal, I’ll definitely be returning!

This was not our first choice but ... We really enjoyed it (we were standing in line at another small place with limited chef's choice only menu until the kids revolted .. so we moved to this place with more variety). Fresh sushi, deep fried oysters, miso fried fish... All our favourite fish dishes in the one spot. And all done really well. We were sitting at the counter so it was interesting to watch all the sushi chefs working away. This place is well frequented by Japanese nationals and tourist.

I love coming here every time I visit Japan. The nigiri certainly isn’t what you’d receive at an omakase joint but it’s definitely satisfying in its own right. The vibe is super casual and one huge reason I go is the all night operation. If I have a long day exploring and don’t get back to town until late, zanmai perfectly fills my need for delicious sushi at hours nearly every other place is closed. The fatty tuna is excellent and the service is so welcoming, friendly, and polite. Ordering is a breeze with the tablet they provide to you so no worries if you can’t speak much Japanese. The beer is also cold and refreshing. Not many bells and whistles here but that’s exactly why I love it. Comfortable, cozy, and most importantly, kind people serving delicious sushi 🤗

Sushi Zanmai is a well-known spot located right in the heart of the fish market, always bustling with both locals and tourists. The atmosphere is lively and energetic — exactly what you’d expect from such a famous sushi chain in Japan. The fish is fresh and the quality is solid, especially for classic sushi selections. However, the portions felt a bit small for the price, and it’s definitely on the touristy side. Still, it’s a great place to enjoy well-prepared sushi and experience a bit of Tokyo’s seafood culture.
Quyen L — Google review
Found this place while I was taking the subway back to my hotel one evening. It is a pretty big restaurant with bar/counter seating and tables. The food was pretty good and the prices are not too bad. We ordered 2 sets that came with 2 big bowls of miso soup, a plate of fatty tuna, and some tempura. I have to say the tempura was not the best and the presentation is kind of sad. But the sushi/sashimi was fresh and there was a good variety. The fatty tuna melts in your mouth (as it should) 😋 It took a while for the food to come but it seemed like it was the same for everyone else. The bill was about $130CAD which is not bad, but I think they could do better with the food presentation.

Came here with my wife for an early breakfast at about 830am. Crowd slowly started streaming in after. There is an English menu and you can order through their tablet. I ordered their steamed clams, chawanmushi, salmon and seafood carpaccio and their premium tuna set which comes with different soups of your choice. Portions are amazing. It is very filling and relatively affordable for very very fresh seafood here. We spent about 7000yen for the entire meal. Service was fast, sitting at the bar counter we could observe the entire process done by the sushi masters, was truly a remarkable feat. Food came at a good pace, we had our meal here for about an hour, slowly enjoying and savouring every bite. Will definitely come back here again to try out their other menu options!

Food was amazing but maybe a bit steep! Service was great, the fish were amazing. If you are there, I would maybe skip the Maitake mushroom and the Wagyu as it’s a tourist trap. Don’t be fooled by the photo as it doesn’t match what you get. The sushi however please order away as it was exceptional

L’Effervescence is an extraordinary dining experience! This three-Michelin-starred restaurant masterfully blends Japanese precision with French elegance, creating dishes that are both innovative and deeply rooted in seasonal flavors. Every course is a testament to the chef’s artistry, showcasing beautifully composed plates with the finest farm-to-table ingredients. The flavors are delicate yet bold, with a perfect balance of tradition and modern creativity. The service is impeccable—gracious, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without being intrusive. From start to finish, L’Effervescence delivers a truly unforgettable culinary journey. A must-visit for anyone seeking world-class dining in Tokyo!

First time at a 3-star restaurant. The service and ambiance was top tier, as expected. The staff was beyond welcoming and kind, not just polite but making sure they could do anything to enhance our dinner experience. Restaurant was dark but there was a moderate spotlight at each table to ensure good visibility. The courses were all good, the duck and grouper were my favorites, as was the dessert, but all in all, a fantastic dining experience.
Ghazanfar A — Google review
We had a wonderful experience at L’Effervescence, the restaurant. Every bite was like a flavor explosion that took us to a whole new level. As we stepped into the restaurant, we were immediately enveloped in a sense of hushed elegance, where the lighting was soft and the minimalist design made the whole experience feel like a retreat from the chaos of the city. The chef’s passion and creativity shone through in every dish, and you could taste the love and care that went into each one. The outstanding dishes that stood out the most were: Salad > Chapter II: Harvest Journey This was truly a masterpiece. With 62 types of ingredients, each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures. The freshness and crispness of the ingredients shone through, and the way each component complemented the others was nothing short of divine. Fish > Chapter IV: Across the Ocean A masterpiece! The super-chilled, aged grouper was marinated to perfection and grilled to bring out its tender texture. The Japanese spiny lobster Américaine sauce added a rich, creamy element, while the parsnip purée, pickled celeriac, and chrysanthemum flowers added a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. The lemongrass oil brought everything together beautifully. What truly stood out was the freshness and oceanic flavor that came through in every bite. The fish had a tender yet satisfying texture that made each mouthful a delight — a truly outstanding dish that showcases the chef’s skill and creativity. Duck > Chapter V: Catching Fire The other standout dish was the wood-fired Kyoto duck breast, served with a rich red wine sauce and sautéed red onion in white wine sauce. The duck breast was cooked to perfection, tender, medium-rare, and melt-in-your-mouth. The skin was crispy yet delicate, without being too crunchy or soft. It was a masterclass in texture and flavor , simply wonderfully tender. Every element was individually distinct, yet harmonized beautifully, creating a truly unforgettable culinary experience.

Highlight of our Japan trip. From start to finish, in terms of food, it was phenomenal. Every course was so tasty in its own ways. Loved all of them, but my personal favorite was the 63 ingredient salad course and the grouper course. Service was friendly and fun, but yet professional and formal. The som helped us picked a great bottle of orange wine. The tea ceremony at the end of the meal was also very poetic. Definitely will come back again!!

Easily one of top 3 stars restaurant i've ever eaten ( i have been a fan of them since they was 1 star back then in 2019). The service, ambience, curated japanese local ingredients and food execution was on another level.

L’Effervescence is a Michelin 3-star French restaurant in Nishiazabu, Tokyo. Hidden quietly next to a temple, the restaurant looks like a modern mansion. The contemporary design of the dimly lit main dining room is serene and elegant. Servers are professional, attentive, and welcoming. Yuki-san and Takumi-kun are especially helpful and accommodating. Online reservation is straightforward. There is only one omakase menu for dinner (JPY 36,000/person), which is mainly composed of seafood, meat and produce from Japan. The evolutionary Japanese-French cuisine is delicious and full of surprises! The Kyoto Nanatani Duck Breast main dish and the Duck Thigh Ravioli simply rock your palate. Who would think of combining 56 kinds of Japanese vegetables and fruits to make a salad dish?! Mixing your own “Matcha Latte” in your mouth is the definition of evolutionary for sure! Even the final cup of drip coffee does not disappoint!

Everything was perfect. Nothing extravagant. No caviar, no foie gras. The chef used all Japanese (organic) ingredients, even their olive oil, cheese and wine. I can really feel the chef deeply respects Japanese farmers. Every dish is made from simple food combinations yet it tasted complex. Service was superb. The servers were friendly, one of them knew I went to volunteer at a japanese organic farm, and he recommended a farmer's market in Tokyo for me to visit. The restaurant work culture must be very nice too as they even showed me pictures of the restuarant staffs visiting farms to pick fruits, and holding kelp harvest workshops. They even publish a sustainability report for the restaurant. They even give out souvenirs for us to choose, which are all local produces the restaurant uses. The experience is very worth the price, I would def save money to dine again when I visit Tokyo
Melody F — Google review
The service was excellent, and the restaurant was very accommodating of my girlfriend’s vegan dietary needs, which we really appreciated. The first three courses were fantastic, with some dishes being finished or prepared right at the table, adding an interactive and enjoyable touch. However, the remaining courses were unfortunately underwhelming. While there are many things the restaurant does well—especially the attentive service and creativity in the opening courses—for a 3 Michelin star restaurant, we had hoped for a higher level of consistency throughout the entire meal.

I ate a croquette here. I find menchi katsu to be too meaty so just opted to eat a regular potato croquette. This is one of the BEST croquette I’ve eaten in Japan. Even better than the Hokkaido potato one I tried in Azabudai Hills market. It was soft and it wasn’t dry or overly oily. I would eat this any time.

It was a nice restaurant! We went at around 1600 and it wasn't too busy to sit inside and have our meal. After 1700 though, it got quite busy, so it's best to get there early. No English menu, and my Japanese isn't perfect, but I went with Japanese friends and had no issues. Croquettes were fresh and delicious, and so was everything else! Definitely worth the visit.

Curry Beef Croquettes (99Y) filled with spices, curry and potato. Beef Croquet (88Y) can taste more of the beef without the curry. Both are tasty. Noto Beef Dice (1990Y) has a nice texture to it, pretty good. Chicken Namban (1200Y) is nice too. Service is slow tonight. The Ameya alley is pretty touristy, this place seems local with good value.

A perfect place to grab a hot and steamy snack on a winter day! They offer various fried items that are ultra affordable. I had the beef and potato croquette, or the korroke and it was amazing. The beef and potato mixture was seasoned perfectly, not too overpowering. The outside crust was a panko crust and was so crispy and had a great crunch when you bit into it. It was freshly fried and was piping hot! They have a bar table near the counter so you can stand and eat, or you can get your snacks to go. A must visit!

Ordering is simple with a QR code menu that’s available in English and includes photos. Honestly, everything on the menu looked so appealing that it was hard to decide what to order! We tried the Hana-kanmuri French Toast, the Flower Parfait, and the Homemade Ginger Ale. Each dish was beautifully presented, perfectly matching the café’s floral aesthetic, and adorned with edible flowers. The Hana-kanmuri French Toast featured soft slices of bread topped with seasonal fruits, herbs, edible flowers, milk sauce, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream—a perfect balance of sweetness. The Flower Parfait combined rose jelly, cherry mousse, vanilla ice cream, mixed berries, granola, and delicate rose petals. I’ve never had a parfait like this before, and it was absolutely delicious! A truly unique and delightful café experience that’s as beautiful as it is flavorful.

Charming, quaint and beautiful. Very cheery place on a rainy day and a great spot to have some tea and a bite. Great selection of herbal or fruity tea. Served in a full pot for multiple glasses it really was perfect on a rainy April morning. The omelet rice was very good and presented beautifully. Nice bits to take away if you want as well. Packaged tea, candies, cookies and the like. And the actual flower shop next door is a nice visit as well.

My friend and I came here for the amazing French toast. This restaurant is amazing. It gives you a dining experience surrounded by flowers and plants. The concept of a greenhouse to create an outdoor ambience that is really unique. I highly recommend the seasonal French toast. It was pretty and definitely the most stunning French toast I've ever had. Don’t miss out the floral shop next door. It is very popular with a variety of flowers on the first floor, and there is a shopping section upstairs. The second floor has very good floral supplies and flower utensils for your garden and home decorating. I bought some souvenirs for family members and they loved them. I have not visited recently.

The cafe is beautiful. It is situated behind the Aoyama Flower Market and has a separate entrance. It’s not too far from Omotesando station but the wait time was quite long, truly boasting the cafe’s popularity. The interior is beautifully decorated with flowers and plants alike. The low, warm lighting and glass tables enhance the natural aesthetic and allow for the flora to shine. The cafe has an array of sweet dishes, teas and sodas to choose from. There is a QR code provided that directs you to the ordering site which as an English language option. The staff were friendly and helpful; I had made a mistake with one of the drinks and it was easily corrected by the staff. Good food and excellent atmosphere.

What a lovely place! I came here after Teamlabs Borderless and felt I was still immersed in flowers. Lovely staff. Immaculate presentation (and taste) of food and drink.

Cute concept - like being in a grandparents’ greenhouse. Mix and match chairs and the tables have fresh flowers and plants. We only had drinks but the food looked good. A nice break from the heat and rush outside!

Beautiful relaxing place full of greenery and flowers. Delicious "small" dishes and teas. When you enter in, you might accidentally enter the flower store, absolutely gorgeous. They seem to have a great variety for you to select from. The first door to the right is their store. Second door further down is the cafe. Third door down is their group workshop. The wait was roughly 15-20 minutes I went closer to sun down. It has a few seats outside and inside. When you are brought to your table, you will be scanning a QR code, and then ordering from their online menu. (You may get a unique code for order, please remember it or screenshot it.) I ordered a couple different teas and they all have their uniqueness that makes me wish I could taste them all. I highly recommend their French toast, you can't go wrong with any of them. As someone who travels with people that prefers something familiar and still somewhat open to trying new things, this is a nice place to try their mango French toast. Small bites and nice amount of flavor. If you love any of the teas, they have them sold in small batches on your way out. For price and value of the experience, this place will suit you better if you value more of the experience than affordability. Restroom: Yes Wheelchair accessible: Partially - can't confirm the restroom part. Photos are from Late May to Early June.

Eggcellent Roppongi Hills is a popular breakfast spot in Tokyo, known for its diverse egg-based menu. The restaurant has been a fixture at Roppongi Hills since 2018, offering classic dishes like Eggcellent Benedict and fluffy pancakes with various toppings. While it may not be the trendiest cafe in the city, it's a reliable choice for a satisfying breakfast. The menu features an array of egg preparations, from omelettes to scrambled eggs and more.
Great brunch! The egg tart was superb, the roll was great. Hindsight I think I should've gone with the eggs benedict rather than curry rice. Because it was actually very curry and ricy 😅

A bit small so can get crowded. Interior is a kind of like “US farmhouse”, not really my vibe but the western style breakfast dishes are delicious.

The best and (probably) only EARLY breakfast in Tokyo. Specializing in eggs Benedict it wouldn't be my first choice to start my morning, since I don't like soft yolks... But it was surprisingly tasty and not eggy at all! The price was a bit steep but the everything was perfectly cooked and tasty, including the organic juice and gluten free granola yogurt! Just wish the staff noticed faster when people are calling them....

**Review based on my visit in 2019 Was in Tokyo for business in and had to start early. Stepped out of the hotel in Rappongi and found this small restaurant. Warm welcome by the staff.. English menu!! And everything was with EGG!! Well it is called Eggcellent right?? We ordered fresh Orange Juice and Coffee and then the main course. Very good service and the food was very nice. Fried eggs with Bacon, Sausage, baked beans and toast.. well that was just day 1... was there for 2 weeks and we became regulars for that time. Tried almost everything in the menu and loved the food. From Egg tarts to egg with salads to poached eggs, etc.. very convenient place, open early and fantastic breakfast!!

Another brunch place I was really excited to try, but it was a bit underwhelming. The price to portion ratio was a bit high, and the food was mediocre, in my opinion. I ordered the eggcellent plate, and it filled me up, but left me a bit unsatisfied. Pancakes were so-so, nothing to make me want these specific pancakes. The eggs benedict was tasty, and the sides and salad were just normal. My partner ordered the eggcellent morning plate, and the soft boiled egg was cooked as it should. One feedback is that the butter was hard as rock, making it unspreadable without decimating the toast. Small complaint, but just something we noted. Our son seemed to enjoy the chunky monket pancakes. One thing we liked about this place was that it opens at 7am for breakfast, which is a relarive rarity in Tokyo.
Jonathan C — Google review
2 Stars for the Egg Benedict because it's very good but the pancake tastes very tasteless and not sweet. And the worst point was that the air conditioning spots were molding and the air conditioning at the tables were turned way to high so it was freezing cold. And our orange juice was full of ice as well. Not comfortable.
Riana H — Google review
Tl;dr nice place and menu, food was not exceptional but I would come back. The menu: nice variety, it's all focused on eggs, nice balance between protein, veggies and carbs. Basically you can go as healthy or as unhealthy as you want. It's in English and what I love the most: they serve breakfast food all day. The atmosphere: even though you probably will have to wait in line, the place doesn't feel like to have to eat fast and go. It feels cozy, bright and welcoming. The food: it was nice but nothing exceptional. I've had better eggs benedict in other places in Tokyo. The hollandaise was not particularly delicious and the quality of the bacon could be better. The quinoa with the fish was a nice twist. They serve fresh orange juice right in the orange which I loved. And the egg tart was delicious. Coffee was good as well. I would come back to try other items in the menu.

Café Kitsuné Aoyama is a trendy coffee shop in Tokyo that seamlessly blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern elements. The café, associated with a French fashion brand, offers a unique Japanese-French vibe and serves high-quality coffee and delicious pastries. The interior resembles a traditional Japanese house but exudes a modern and utilitarian atmosphere. Customers can enjoy well-balanced espresso and flavorful pastries while immersing themselves in the café's beautiful ambiance.
Came here on a Monday afternoon to treat myself and I’d definitely recommend. I lined up for 10 minutes and then got an espresso tonic and matcha espresso cake, both were delicious! I paid 1600 total, which is pricey but the espresso tonic is quite big and the cake very creamy. Very friendly service! Generic pop music in the background but not too loud to have a normal conversation. Don’t come here to work or study as they have a no laptop policy. It seems the cafe is more for socialising.
Marieke B — Google review
I had the seasonal sakura matcha latte with soy milk. The seasonal drink was already expensive, but the soy milk was an additional ¥150 which is crazy. The match latte itself did taste good. It was very rich in flavor and the consistency was thick. I did taste a hint of the sakura flavor. Is it worth the extra price from the standard matcha latte? no The atmosphere here is amazing though. I wouldn’t read a book here without anc headphones. Great music is playing. This is a good spot for a date or to hang out with friends. The service is really good as with most places. Also, water was brought to me which was a nice touch.

If you’re looking for a classic GOOD American coffee shop, this is Officially the best coffee I’ve ever had! (Oat milk iced latte) I decided to come here since it’s my favorite coffee shop in Paris, so I had to check it out in Japan and it did not disappoint!!

Spacious cafe located in a convenient shopping area. I came for the Iced Matcha Latte (¥900), but also spontaneously ordered the seasonal Kitsune Sesame Cake (¥750) because it looked good. The Iced Matcha Latte was okay—definitely on the grassier side and was a little grainy. However, the Kitsune Sesame Cake was delicious. I loved the crumbly bottom.

Café Kitsuné is super cute and located in a lovely place. The interior is decorated nicely and the environment is cool. They did quite a good job regarding their brand building though. You can be annoyed by the hype but I decided to love it. You have to admit - the shirt and the shopping bag with the logo are quite cute. You can definitely expect to bump into a lot of tourists here. Still, it’s a nice stop for a coffee but don’t expect to get a seat since it’s really small and they just have a bar with a few chairs. Their service was exceptional; and the staff were very friendly. The espresso they offered and the coffee and the cakes were all excellent.

A Happy Pancake Shibuya is a popular spot in Tokyo known for its fluffy and wobbly pancakes. These Japanese-style pancakes are light, airy, and not overly sweet. The cafe uses high-quality ingredients like Hokkaido butter and New Zealand Manuka honey to create their signature fluffy pancakes without using baking powder.
It’s worth the wait. The restaurant and is very beautiful and inviting. The staff is friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal which kept us full for hours. A happy pancake left us extremely happy.

The ambiance is light, airy, and intentionally cozy. We've heard the lines can get quite long but surprisingly we were able to walk right in and was seated to a table. Also heard it takes about 20mins for the food to come but it came within 10mins. I had their happy pancakes and it was so soft and melts in your mouth. My friend had the hot chocolate pancake with granola and he loved the chocolate sauce. Would recommend this place!
Araphe Y — Google review
My companion wasn’t feeling well so I went solo to Happy Pancake. Arrived when it opened and was able to get on the list and in the first seating. Inside is bright and simple, it felt like a nice college cafeteria. It seemed as if all of the guests were tourists like me. The menu is varied, but I ordered chocolate banana pancakes and a latte via QR code. Water is self-serve. They are clear that it takes about 20 minutes to make the pancakes which was true in my case, so the sooner you can order the better. The breakfast was delicious and a real treat. There was a long line of people winding down the stairs waiting to get in, so I left promptly after eating. It’s not a place to hang out leisurely as they try to move people through efficiently. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to try Japanese soufflé pancakes.
April W — Google review
Since I couldn’t get a reservation, I had to line up before opening. The place was mostly tourists. Pancakes were fluffy, but honestly, not very exciting... kind of bland and not sweet. Food took a while, so it wasn’t a great experience. Won’t be coming back..
Hyunjung J — Google review
The pancakes looked a little deflated when they came out, and the egg flavor was very prominent. I had the berry pancake and my friend got the tiramisu one, the toppings enhanced the flavors of the pancakes by a lot. The service wasn’t bad, it was mostly self service since you order online via QR code, and then the servers would come out and bring your order to your table. It took around 30 minutes for our food to come out. It was nice to try, but I wouldn’t necessarily come here again.
Ayana Y — Google review
A must try breakfast when you're in Japan. These pancakes are the richest and fluffiest ones I've ever had, whipped up using a unique technique and cooked at very low temperatures to achieve perfection in a way that only the Japanese are capable of. I tried their special menu which has fresh local peaches, peach jelly, and a wonderful fruit syrup to top it off. Go at least 5 min before 11am when they open if you want to avoid a lineup.
Jack ( — Google review
Good pancakes about a ten minutes walk from the Scramble Crossing in Shibuya, hidden on the third floor of a building. Opens late for a cafè that offers breakfast options, but in a way that makes it suitable for a good brunch. We had a bit of an annoying experience: arrived a few minutes after opening hour without a single table available, a couple was waiting to be seated, we wrote our name down on the waiting list and got called and sat down about five minutes later; while we were deciding what to order, we were asked to go back to the waiting area to allow the other couple to be seated, without being given the choice/asked to share the 4-seat table with the other couple. We then waited for another 30’ to be given another table. Once seated, the food arrived in a short while, which we appreciated as we’d grown hungry in the meantime. Scrambled eggs were quite well done, pancakes had good texture but unfortunately didn’t have that much flavour, and the “thick-sliced bacon” tasted well but was nowhere near the size that was advertised in the picture on the menu, so that was a bit disappointing. Ended up paying ¥4.510, around 25€ for two people, not excessively expensive considering we left the place quite full (though a bit let down…)

Takeout Restaurant
Santa Monica Crepes are a popular street food in Tokyo, especially in the bustling area of Harajuku's Takeshita dori. These Japanese crepes come in a variety of flavors, ranging from classic options like strawberries and cream to more unique combinations such as cream cheese and ham or potato salad and tuna. Unlike traditional French crepes, these treats are folded into a cone shape for easy on-the-go enjoyment.
Omg! This was delicious!! And surprisingly easy to eat. Strawberry crepe in a cone. Worth it!!!

I revisited this crepe stand after an amazing experience 7 years ago, however, this time it was not as good. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake crepe both times, however, the recent one was far less generous in terms of cheesecake. The stand is very cute and had quick service; the crepe was satisfactory but lacking.
Jessica — Google review
Tried Santa Monica Crepes in Harajuku — it was my first time trying crepes in Japan, so I don’t have a local benchmark to compare to (though it’s not my first trip here). I ordered the banana crepe with chocolate sauce and custard cream. Flavours were decent, but the crepe was cold and a bit soggy — I was expecting something warm and slightly crisp, so the texture was a bit of a letdown. That said, I didn’t go out of my way for it — just happened to be in the area — and it did make for a very Instagram-worthy shot 📸✨ Bonus points for the little things: they provide a trash bin for customers (a rare convenience in Japan!), and order numbers were called out in English, which was a nice touch for non-Japanese speakers. Cute spot and worth trying once if you're in the area, especially for the novelty, but I’m not sure I’d queue for it again.
Sylvia C — Google review
I would not order from here if I were you. You see something really cool with a bunch of toppings but in reality what you get is something totally different with tiny toppings. Not to mention the fact that the food is pretty mediocre. So basically no reason why you should order food here, pretty disappointing.

The crepes cost you aroud 500 yen The display is little bit bigger than the actual product. The menu is so many, about more than 40 menu u can pick. Sweet or savoury. The whip cream is good, not so sweet. The crepes is not fresh made so its not hot. The taste was balance. And 1 portion can be share to 2 person.

Classic looking crepe shop with such a long line up, it was hard to not stop and try it out. There's such a large variety of crepes. Prices are a little expensive for what you get, but the taste is great for the whole 4 mouthfuls of food you're served. The crepe itself is made fresh and the cream is really delicious. Artistic and fancy looking, just keep in mind the crepe is smaller than it shows in the window displays.

Ginza West Aoyama Garden is a must-visit spot for those craving Japanese-style pancakes, also known as hotcakes. These pancakes are not your typical thin American ones; they are thick, fluffy, and come in a variety of toppings. The restaurant's signature pancake dish is described as incredibly round and smooth, served with melted butter, sweet maple syrup, and fresh cream (or chocolate cream if preferred).

Today, Wednesday 18 September 2024, despite arriving just a few minutes after opening at 11:25 AM, there were already 20 people ahead of us, highlighting its popularity. 🙄 The wait was long, about 75 minutes, but the ambiance with classical music and elegant decor made it more bearable. I ordered the famous ham sandwich with lemon juice and a pancake. The sandwich was delicious and worth the price, while the pancake, though large was not as unique as those I’ve had elsewhere. The seating policy was a bit inconvenient, as they don’t allow merging tables for groups larger than five. 😕😕 Overall, I would recommend A W Garden more for their sandwiches than their pancakes. The high percentage of local customers also adds to the authentic experience. 😊 Don't forget to take a ticket at your arrival!

I have visited this place so many times (almost always ordering the cake+drink set) because I think everything about it is great: the service; the variety and taste of the cakes (although their sizes are not very large but not small either); the quality of the coffee drinks and free drink refills (which many other places do not offer—but I should add that the drink prices here are on the high side); the simple yet elegant cups, dishes, cutlery and table decorations (flowers); and—importantly for me—the classical music! The wait times can be quite long (as many others have said), but I personally think this is partly because they have not crammed too many tables into the space (there is enough space between the tables to make the place calm and comfortable but not too quiet) and that they do not rush the customers (I have not seen any seating time limit mentioned on the menu or tables or heard the staff mention it, but there might be some "unofficial" limit).

I recently visited this place for their famous pancakes, and they did not disappoint! The pancakes were enormous—so big that finishing them was a challenge. They tasted amazing, fluffy and perfectly sweet. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your meal. Service here is excellent, just as you’d expect in Japan. The staff are attentive and polite. I also tried some of their snacks, which were delicious but a bit on the pricey side. One thing to note is the queue. Every time I’ve come here, I’ve had to wait around 1-2 hours. You can collect a number at the restaurant and check the queue status online, which is convenient. Overall, a wonderful experience if you’re looking for a satisfying pancake treat and a pleasant dining environment.

The two of us were first to reach the restaurant more than an hour before opening time. Was it worth waiting in the windy cold (but very clear) weather? Yes!😋. The preparation of our omelette, soufflé and pancake was perfect. The flavours are light and refined. Very nice atmosphere and staff very helpful. I would wait more than an hour again the next time I am in Tokyo. (The 100 yen for an additional serving of maple syrup for the pancake is worth it too)

Absolutely loved this place. The classical music gave a very nice atmosphere. The staff were really attentive to our needs. The decor was beautiful. The seating was comfortable. We got the pancake and souffle and both were absolutely divine. Both were so soft and fluffy with the right amount of sweetness and richness. On top of this, the beverages were wonderful. I think the only thing I would have liked is for the pancakes to come with some sort of compote on the side just so that are more flavours and textures going on. This did not stopcmy enjoyment of the food though. Everything was perfect

The cafe got a very nice view towards the trees beside the main road, however for outdoor seatings the leaves will fall onto the tables and food. The vegan pasta is normal as the spices is not enough, while the salad is quite outstanding. The ginger ale is what surprised me that with additional mint and apple pieces, it enhanced the flavor and smooth the hotness of the ginger flavor.

Very nice place to enjoy and relax. The restaurant had a strawberry theme which was really cute. They had a little candle on the table which is very romantic and sweet. We wanted to have a seat at the terrace, but we couldn't resist sitting on a table with a candle on. There was a special menu with strawberry theme dishes. Kinda pricey, but the cake was very good. Also, there was an online shop were you can get cute strawberry theme items. The restaurant itself is located in a very nice location where you can enjoy the view of Aoyama street. Unfortunately, the second floor was opened only for dinner, and we only wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee with some sweets. In general, it was a very nice experience, totally worth a shot if you are in the area.

The wagashi look like little works of art, capturing the seasons and the breath of nature. The atmosphere is calm, almost meditative, which makes it easy to savor every flavor. I loved how tradition and modernity blend here so naturally and subtly. It’s more than just a confectionery—it’s a unique experience that stays with you.

Amazing! We wanted to find a true Japanese tea experience before our departure tomorrow. Fantastic choices of matcha (I'll add other pictures shortly), tasty small bites (the citrus and persimmon ones were my favrites). Service beyond anything we have been used to, extremely informative and detailed. Plus.. the reason why I'm posting pictures of the interior is that it's so incredibly beautiful. All those furniture pieces... jaw dropping. I'm normally not posting any bathroom pictures but also that private room... amazing. 10/10. A must go and must see.

A hidden gem among the bustling streets of Ginza. Higashiya Ginza is a meditative experience. I felt relaxed, welcomed, nurtured and energized through the sacred art of tea. The masterful execution is evident in the distinct flavor of matcha. It wasn't as bitter as the ceremonial quality I've tasted before. The matcha is grown in Kyoto and it was subtle, smooth and refreshing. The selection of sweets was divine, each bite of wagashi paired perfectly. Attentive staff were present and not rushed. It was an elegant experience that one can only appreciate in Japan. Sorry you hipster cities but execution in Japan is on another level, the service is unmatched. If you're in the Ginza area you definitely want to stop by. Reservations are encouraged but we were able to get a table as walk-ins. There's also a gift shop to purchase a selection of teas and sweets.

Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant
Tsumugi is a chic and modern cafe located in the information center for Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple. The cafe offers elaborate breakfasts, simple meals, and desserts with floor-to-ceiling views of the ancient temple. The 18-set special breakfast served between 8am and 11am includes tiny dishes featuring local specialties like Japanese sour plums, matcha jelly, peppery fried eggplant, and all-you-can-eat okayu porridge.
I saw this place while leaving Tsukiji Temple. Honestly, I had planned to visit another spot, but the aesthetic view from behind caught my eye, so we decided to give it a try. the calming music, soft lighting, and peaceful atmosphere felt like a good sign. Plus, it had great reviews. We ordered the afternoon tea set along with strawberry tea and beauty tea. Everything was delightful—it was truly a lovely experience.

Got table 18 for the 18 breakfast! We made a tourist mistake a rocked up at 10:30am with no reservation and guess what, it was sold out 🥲 But luckily they allow (at least when we were there) to make a reservation for the next day! It was amazing to see it within the temple grounds. Returned the next day and heaps of people were just waiting but with a reservation we just strolled in, sat and ordered our 18 set meal. Definitely an experience to have a range of Japanese breakfast items to taste in a cafe style but to me its a once and done as while well cooked and presented, wasn’t a fan of everyone of the 18 meals. More of a photo op experience with a focus on food variety.

Located on the temple grounds with the information center lies this restaurant that does an amazing 18 item breakfast that has daily queues. While each individual item is small, it's overall a filling breakfast once you get through it all. Every dish has its own flavour, though we felt some items were a bit too salty. Each set was 2000 yen which seemed fair for what we got and where it was.

Quaint small cafe with proper Japanese breakfast. Only 2 choices when we were there. Congee (savoury porridge) with 16 types of topping, or a piece of salmon with mixed grain rice (it looks like Korean mixed rice - purple coloured). We had the salmon and it was sublime. Be careful of the cut of the salmon as it may have a few bones.

If you’re looking for a place where the food is consistently delicious and on the healthier side, this spot has got you covered. They focus on offering fresh, nutritious options, with a special emphasis on a variety of teas. Their breakfast menu is especially notable—if you’re a fan of porridge, be sure to try the one that comes with 18 different side dishes. However, it’s a limited-time offering, so make sure to arrive early if you don’t want to miss out. This time, I had the Houjicha paired with a red snapper dashi soup chazuke, complete with shisai nori and shrimp. The delicate flavors of the soup were perfectly balanced with the savory nori and plump shrimp, making each bite comforting yet satisfying. The Houjicha was smooth, earthy, and complemented the dish wonderfully. Overall, this spot continues to impress with its delicious, healthy meals and carefully selected teas. Highly recommended!

We got a brunch menu. Food was great and reasonably priced for what they offer. Cute place with aesthetic, relaxing atmosphere. One thing to note is make a reservation beforehand or go early. Otherwise you might have to wait for a long time because even with a bunch of empty tables, they take guests with reservations first.
Subin — Google review
We came here during lunch time and had to wait for around 20 mins. They used a self-service machine to get the queue numbers. The foods were great and were beautifully plated. The ambience was nice and peaceful. This place was very close to the Tsukiji Market.

We came here on a Thursday morning and there was no line, we were able to get a table quickly without a reservation. The 18 course breakfast was good, it was nice sampling a variety of dishes, although I was not a fan of some of them. The standout dishes were: - yuba with salmon roe - sweet kombu tsukudani - matcha jelly - fried eggplant with seasonal ground soy meat - spicy cod roe & seaweed - roasted duck with sansho pepper - deep fried fish cake Overall, Tsumugi was a great option for breakfast and we had a good time trying the variety of dishes. I would recommend them if you're interested in trying the 18 course breakfast. follow @food.vince on instagram and tiktok for more travel eats!

Path is a charming French cafe located in the Shibuya district of Tokyo. It offers a delightful experience, serving delectable pastries and coffee in the mornings, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or brunch. The cafe's in-house pastry chefs craft mouthwatering croissants, which are made in small batches and are highly sought after by visitors. In addition to its morning offerings, Path transforms into a romantic dinner venue at night, providing a luxurious ambiance for business meetings or intimate dates.
We got here 15min before opening and we’re 4th in line through their electronic waitlist they prepared outside. There was a line up that accumulated after us shortly. Once they called us we got in and sat at the bar. We were aware that it takes about 30min for them to prepare the Dutch pancake but with everyone ordering it as expected, the wait time for us was more like 45/50min. We did watch the cook diligently work on it as quick as she can but there were definitely patrons after us that waited longer. Once we got the pancake it was pretty good, like a sweet and savoury soufflé-like pancake with prosciutto nestled inside. It was pretty sizeable also and was really good with the provided maple syrup. I can’t say it was worth the wait but it was definitely good and worth the experience. Would recommend coming early for this one.
Evan V — Google review
(BREAKFAST/BRUNCH menu): in Yoyogi Uehara is hugely popular for its weekend breakfast, especially the Dutch pancake. The café itself is cozy and the pancake was truly delicious, but be prepared: we joined the online queue at 8:30am and didn’t get seated until after noon. They do mention the pancake takes 30 minutes, but by 10am, new guests weren’t even allowed to line up. It’s a lovely and comforting meal, but with the long wait, high price, and pastries/other menu items selling out early, it might be best enjoyed once the hype dies down…or if you already have other plans in the area while the phone lets you informed about the queue.

🛎️ [Must-Try] Dutch Pancake with Parma Prosciutto & Burrata Cheese Visited many times, and this skillet pancake is always worth the 30-minute bake. Crisp on the outside and soft inside, almost like a puff pastry. The savory Parma prosciutto and creamy burrata in the center, finished with a drizzle of maple syrup, create the most perfect balance of flavors.
Clara J — Google review
Delightful little brunch spot that serves a delicious Dutch pancake with Parma and burrata; the syrup mixed with ham, melted cheese, and eggy texture of the bread is truly outstanding. And while that was impressive, I found myself LOVING the creamy salsiccia stew and radiccio, quinoa, grape salad. Both were so flavorful. In addition to the food, the ambience was so comfortably stylish—soft yellow lighting; a record player spinning out an eclectic mix of music; and modern rustic farmhouse decor.

Arrived at 12:30pm Managed to get in within 15 mins and food served at 12:50pm I came without reservation coz I saw long queue of posts on XHS if u come here 7-9am peak hours . So I decided to come by just by luck , but luckily they took us in as last table . ( that day was heavy rain) Last order is 1 pm . Order : Cream salsiccia with scone Financier Homemade ham & Camembert sandwich Fuglen black coffee The food really taste good But if you ask me to bear with the crazy queue I think I will give up Service is ok. Communication abit hard . I stood at cashier for 3 mins and the staffs didn’t even bother me 🥴 until I need to speak “ halo ???” Then only they notice my existence.

The Dutch pancake is amazing! The food here overall is 👍🏻 good. The only thing I think can be improved is the coffee? From little nap and fuglen, they’re a bit too light (I tried fuglen in the shop nearby). Highly recommended! But please do get up early and get a queue tag to dine in early!
Mengnibal C — Google review
It’s really good. And the ambiance is cool and chic. I didn’t wait in line luckily, as I went right around 1pm (lunch goes until 2pm). Some of the baked goods they were sold out of at that time, but they were still serving Dutch pancakes, which is what I wanted. It was delicious, and I’m writing this review with a watering mouth. The prosciutto and burrata cheese just complimented each other so well, then the sweetness of the maple syrup just took it over the top. I had a pour over coffee also, with beans from a local coffee shop, that completed the meal. For me, it’s something I’ll come back for again and again.

The restaurant offers a variety of choices, including meal pancakes with options like avocado and smoked salmon. With locations in several Tokyo neighborhoods, including Daikanyama, Flippers has gained fame for its souffle pancakes that jiggle on the plate when served. The secret to their fluffy texture lies in baking them without molds, resulting in soft edges.
Japanese Soufflé Pancake – Light as air, rich in flavor. Each pancake is made from a delicately whipped mixture using farm-fresh eggs delivered straight from the countryside. The result is a fluffy, cloud-like texture that melts in your mouth. Paired with a generous dollop of silky whipped cream that’s rich yet perfectly balanced in sweetness, this treat offers a delightful harmony of taste and texture that’s sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate.

My last meal to wrap up my solo trip to Japan and what a great meal to end it with! I got the Blueberry Lemon Pistachio pancakes and was not disappointed! I love the blueberry lemon combo! It was not overly sweet and being a texture person, the pancakes were very satisfying to eat. Just a heads up, it will take about 20 minutes for your food to be prepared because they make it to order. Definitely worth the wait though :)

The shop is small and intimate so given the hype, a lot of locals and mostly tourists want to try this place. Make sure to arrive early. My friend and I went there 30 minutes before they open so we were the first one in the line. The selection of pancakes is superb, from fruits to nuts and different syrups. They also serve other dishes and my favourite is what they called Aged Bacon and Salad with fluffy pancakes on the side.

I was really excited to try soufflé pancakes for the first time during our recent trip to Japan. They were good, but not mind-blowing. That said, the presentation was premium and visually impressive. The service was excellent, though the restaurant itself felt a bit cramped. The wait was reasonable for a morning visit. Overall, I still recommend the experience if you’re curious to try these famous fluffy pancakes.

The food here is amazing! Perfect location hidden in Shibuya with a great atmosphere that is cozy and congenial. The French toast was the best I’ve had in my life, it melts in your mouth. Super “French toast”! Nice atmosphere, fluffy -almost pudding texture inside, edge was crispy - home made bacon got nice rosemary hint - have it with maple syrup - our mouth were super happy with texture and sweet savory taste 😋 oh and don’t forget to try the An butter sandwich too! It’s extremely delicious! Expect to spend around ¥2,000–¥5,000 per person. A cozy gem where simplicity meets flavor.

Neatly tucked away down a side street. It’s small, quaint and very Japanese cool. Here you will find some delicious food, coffee and ambiance that is renowned in Japan. Got there early and were greeted by a lovely lady who sat our party of 6 no issues. I’d imagine if you get there later you’ll wait as there were people waiting outside. I double meal’d it. Went the French toast and a croque madam as the avo was sold out. The chef has a special touch, French toast is a winner with the cheese and maple syrup and bacon combo, the croquet madam was balanced and the bechamel super tasty. Both were sensational. Coffee was cold drip and the rest of the boys loved their meals too. Highly recommend!

This was my favorite breakfast in Tokyo! This bistro is in Shibuya, but it is tucked away. It had great vibes/music. The French toast was chef's kiss! I still think about the salmon bagel with tomato jam! Yum!

Came here for brunch with a couple friends. The place is small but very cozy and we very much enjoyed our meal, so much so that we came back the next morning for another breakfast. Highly recommend getting the French toast and bacon, it was SO good. If you sit at the bar you can also watch the workers prepare the food, which we enjoyed doing as well. Would be tough to have a group of more than 4 people, they can’t really accommodate large groups, so keep that in mind

Bistro Rojiura is a very cool little breakfast spot tucked away in a Shibuya back alley. The French toast is crispy on the outside, somewhat gooey on the inside, and absolutely delicious, even without syrup. The bagel with cream cheese, shredded salmon, and tomato jam is a savory treat, though there were a few too many sprouts for my liking. Both items make for a great breakfast treat, but I would argue that the options were a little too small for the price.

Best breakfast I had in Tokyo!! After having Japanese and Hotel breakfast’s for the first couple of days, it was good to have a “Western Style Breakfast” Small wait once we arrived, but well worth the 15 minutes. Breakfast was delicious, service was awesome. Really enjoyed

I went for breakfast with a few friends and very quickly got a seat. The staff were very friendly and also spoke English very well. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was cooked perfectly. The biscuit, ham, and hollandaise sauce perfectly complemented the meal. My friends ordered the lumberjack meal and they really enjoyed it as well. I plan to go back and try other menu items when I have the time. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good breakfast or brunch.

This is my third trip to Tokyo, and each time, I have to have Jade5 at least once (probably more than once) before I leave. This brunch spot puts most brunch spots in the states to shame. It's a tiny space and there is usually a wait, but it's all worth it once you sit down. Their small list of food options are executed perfectly, especially their blueberry pancakes which have been voted the best pancakes in the world (by me). Quit having mediocre fluffy pancakes around Tokyo, and stop by Jade5 for the real deal. True western style flapjacks that will bring you to tears.

The executive chef, Daniel Calvert, brings a blend of Parisian elegance and American approach to French cuisine, resulting in a polished and precise seasonal menu. With a comprehensive study of Japanese cuisine and culture, Calvert incorporates top-quality Japanese ingredients into his dishes using French cooking techniques.
Our visit to this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The culinary experience was truly outstanding – every dish was perfectly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable, with the staff showing genuine attentiveness and care throughout the evening. One of the highlights was the wine presentation by the sommelier, delivered with the utmost professionalism and expertise. Each pairing was thoughtfully explained, enhancing our appreciation for both the food and the wine. We booked a private dining room (additional €500), which offered a direct view into the kitchen – a unique touch that allowed us to witness the artistry behind each plate. To our delight, the head chef personally introduced himself at the start of the evening, making the experience feel even more special. We left with nothing but positive impressions and heartfelt admiration for the entire team. This is a place we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Went there May 2025 on another girls’ trip to Japan. Top notch service, and awesome food! Starting off with the cucumber flowers to enlighten your taste buds, very refreshing! My favourite is the eggplant dish, the presentation and taste were both exciting! Never had I seen eggplants giving out that much steam, and they also reminded me of Bomb Flowers from Zelda. Had one of the best seats in the house to watch the chefs work, was for sure a pleasure.

Reputation sets some expectations but our luncheon experience was full of surprises and delights- textures, flavors in distinct combinations. Outstanding food with professional and engaging staff who quietly made it a memorable occasion. Loved the nod to Japan with the unique bread recipe which added an extra crunch (à la rice crackers); and provided an invaluable accompaniment to the wonderful sauces.

Cost at the last photo- ¥40000+ surcharge forgot to take photo of wines. Top 10 restaurants in worldwide. I have to say the overall tasting is quite disappointing. Nothing really makes me to remember of the night. Except the 2 veg dishes…. Tomato and the eggplant, not really positive way. Especially the last course, 2 way to cook duck. Duck breast is good, but nothing special. The duck soup is really disgusting, it’s full of the flavor of duck skin (gamey). I believe all the chef aims to get rid of this bad taste of the duck. It just like you are having the raw duck butt….. Complaint this to the waiter, but no response from the kitchen. They had great service and the sommelier is very professional and friendly!

A Truly Memorable Dining Experience at SÉZANNE Dining at SÉZANNE was an unforgettable journey through the artistry of French cuisine, elevated by the finest Japanese ingredients. Nestled within the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Ginza, this Michelin-starred restaurant offers a dining experience that is both refined and deeply personal. My favorite dishes were the kinki fish, known for its delicate sweetness, was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin that added a delightful texture and Megumi Duck dish was a revelation. It was tender and succulent, its skin crisped to perfection. Overall expense, from the moment we entered, the service was impeccable. Each dish at SÉZANNE told a story, blending French culinary techniques with the purity of Japanese ingredients. It was a dining experience that not only satisfied the palate but also touched the heart.

Probably overall the best fine dining experience we’ve had in the past 3 months. The aged Comté cheese amuse-bouche started this summer journey with a bold, masculin taste. Among all (from the summer tasting menu on July 10 2025), the most impressive one would be the tomato basil tarte, which is visually artistic and technically very well made: each of the multi-layers of the tarte has its own taste however does not cause any conflicts. The pan-seared white fish was cooked to perfect, which could be the role model of any kinds of fish cuisine at a fining European restaurant: crispy on the skin while juicy and tender inside. The “deconstructed” and “reconstructed” mango topped with Chantilly cream was a really wow. It’s light, refreshing yet intense and fruity, with the topical mango taste. For a “mushiatsui” hot summer day, nothing would be more suitable than this for a after-lunch dessert! The only course confused us was the melon underneath the oyster, which is a little bit too sweet, but not sour enough. Any citrus fruits instead maybe? Overall a bravo!

I visited this cafe to check out their Halloween special afternoon tea and I must say I was surprised to find such a kawaii cafe near Omotesando hills. The cafe is on the ground floor while the other two floors have a store with quirky accessories and clothes - cute but quite pricey. We had pre-booked the afternoon tea set (2500yen) which include 4 sweets, bacon & spinach croissant and a corn pottage. I chose the halloween special bitter chocolate drink with my set that came at an extra cost of 200 yen. The cupcake and macaron were quite delicious and I quite enjoyed the savouries as well. However the drink was too bitter for my taste, it did look great but the taste was just okay , I should have rather gone for a simple cappuccino which might have paired better with the food. But overall it was a great experience and a perfect spot for those cutesy IG- worthy pictures.

Just okay. It is about a 10-minute walk from Harajuku Station (Takeshita Exit). Busy area near Omotesando. The entrance is located down a small alley. Reservations are recommended. But even when you make a reservation, you still have to wait in line….ok. Then what’s the point of making a reservation? The reservation said you have a 2 hour limit, but they were kicking people out at 1.5 hours, and they were not shy about making you leave, too. Multiple workers came to our table reminding us that we had to leave by a certain time.. We got the seasonal strawberry afternoon tea set complete with croissant sandwiches (barely chewable beef), mini soup cups, soggy macarons, a jelly cup of some sort, and some dry cupcake things. The strawberry latte was an extra charge, but cheaper if you buy the set. It was way too much sugar and I regretted it halfway through. Could not finish the drink. The decorations and atmosphere? Looks way better in photos on their website. It was gimmicky and not as polished as it seems on the website, but still, if you want to dress up and take some cute photos for social media, this is the place. Good photo ops. When you make a reservation, you can ask them to write a special message on the plate. :) Staff was kind enough to take pictures of us. They take card.

Could only stay for 20 minutes. Was cute. Very cherry based. Whatever I got was okay....too sweet for me. Lots of macaroon stuff.

Non-prompt afternoon service (1630 sitting) cashier would not respond to requests to split bill or handle goods purchase. Service staff was good, food cute and decent flavor. Sadly for the theme cafe, the one front cashier ruined my and my party's experience.

Tregion Port, also known as Banks Cafe, is renowned for its expertise in crafting souffle pancakes. These delectable treats are made using generous amounts of mascarpone cheese to achieve an incredibly light and smooth texture that has earned them a spot on the top three list. While all the pancakes on the menu are delightful, visitors should consider trying one of the seasonal offerings like banana-caramel, cre brulee, or tiramisu for an extra dose of satisfaction.
The fluffiest, most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had – absolutely amazing! The atmosphere and energy of the place are great, with lots of smiling people all around. Pancakes are truly first-class, and the coffee is really good too. There’s a bit of room for improvement when it comes to cleanliness, but honestly, it didn’t ruin the experience. Loved it!

Pancakes are great! Highly recommend if you’re feeling something sweet. The platter looks like a good selection and lists what region the ingredients come from. We tried the deep fried oyster, scone and pancakes which were all baller. Service was great and attentive

We happened to accidentally wander in during the end of a big party and I felt a little embarrassed but they were really kind and friendly and set a table for us anyways. We came here specifically for the souffle pancakes and they were so fluffy and delicate, these are the more airy kind of souffle pancake vs the more solid cake type. They were absolutely delicious and not too sweet. Even as we left, everyone was very nice, I felt very welcomed.
Mikayla L — Google review
One of the best pancakes I’ve had, but… they delayed one of our pancakes for more than an hour. It was their lunch rush, and they started serving locals while leaving us waiting. Everyone else got their food, even people who arrived after us, and only then did they decide to make our last pancake. They never mentioned the delay in advance—only that it would take 15–20 minutes. In the end, we received our pancakes 1 hour and 25 minutes after placing the order.

I’ve been searching for the fluffiest soufflé pancakes for weeks now, however I did not want to waste precious travel time waiting in long lines. This place was the best shot I had around the area and it did not disappoint. Super light, airy, fluffy, delicious pancakes. Best way to end our trip!

The café is in a very quiet area, but close enough to Shibuya Station. The location is great. I liked the style of the café, relaxing and cozy... even though it was pretty loud when I went. So far I tried the Mixed berries pancakes with roasted macadamia nuts on top and the Tiramisu pancakes. About ¥1300 for two pretty big pancakes. Not so cheap. The taste was good, they were not too sweet. But I found the texture pretty weird, they were basically raw inside, more like pudding-pancakes. They are yummy, but not the best fluffy pancakes I’ve had in Tokyo. The Rooibos and ginger tea was pricey but great!!!
Matilde M — Google review
Waiting time and service is the worst especially if you are a tourist competing with locals. We are a group of three, we arrived just after 10’ after they opened (11:40) and we were the second group to be seated. They told us we will be waiting for around 30’ for the pancakes. Soon the restaurant was packed with local people and in around 30’ we got the two portions out of 3 and still after 90 minutes!!!! from our order placement, the whole place had finisged their lunch and still we were waiting for the third pancake. They told us it is because of lunch time even though our order was put first before all others. TRAGIC!!! The worst part, the ‘pancakes’ are not that good and not even considered pancakes. We have had way better than these ones in Japan. Whipped cream with a bit of egg on a pan. I wouldnt recommend.

Located in the heart of Shibuya, RUBIA offers a unique modern Mexican brunch menu on weekends. The set meal includes a salad, soup, side dish, drink and a choice of main for a reasonable price. With many vegan options available, it's a fusion of Mexican and Japanese cuisine. The restaurant also serves sophisticated seasonal dishes like agedashi squid ink tamal. Despite its relaxed atmosphere and superb service, it's surprisingly not as crowded as expected.
Ok. As a Mexican from Michoacán, I am super picky with my Mexican food. This was absolutely delicious. I thought it was weird that they brought tortilla with the ceviche, but with the way he made the ceviche, the tortillas were perfect. I honestly have a difficult time in Japan every time we come when it comes to food. This is a must try!!

Top notch all around. We did the dinner tasting course and were blown away by how creative and delicious each dish was. The timing and presentations were impeccable and we had lots of fun trying to rank the dishes received. The pork tacos with charred eggplant ended up taking the top spot for me. One of the best tacos I've ever eaten

Had the lunch course here for ~¥3000. Overall good experience. The food was above average and in good portions. I’ve read reviews that the serving is small if you don’t get the course meal so I decided to listen. The best dishes have to be the appetizers: (a) the guacamole and chips and (b) the spicy tomato soup. I don’t mind coming back for the dinner course people have been raving about and try the bar above the restaurant.

My wife and I had been traveling in Japan for 5 days from Los Angeles, and as much as we love Japanese food, we were ready for something different. So we booked a table at Rubia for some Mexican…. And I can honestly say this place has some of the best Mexican food we’ve had (and LA has a lot of good Mexican food) The staff was super excited to have us, and overall this was a great experience. I think everyone should go here…

Went with the family the other night and we all the set dinner course. Everything think from the food to service was wonderful. This is not a Tex Mex type of place but instead focus on regional Mexican specialties using very premium ingredients The location is great because it is just off the busy streets in Shibuya but very close to the station by Parco. We will be back soon.

Dinner reservations at 6pm after visiting the 5pm mezcal and tequila bar upstairs, Rubia is truly the best Mexican restaurant, more than that, best fine dining tasting menu experience in Tokyo. Each dish was unbelievably flavorliscious, should be on the world's 50 Best Restaurants, of which I've been to a dozen or more. I was astounded the place was nearly empty on a Wednesday night, everyone was missing out! Can even order mezcal from upstairs to your table 🤠
Damon L — Google review
The place was great, it was quite quiet in a weekdays night. However, the ambience was really soothing. Furthermore, there are not a lot of menus on weekdays night. Around 6 or 7 menu in total. Not sure why. But among those 6-7, almlat half of it is vegan or they could make it vegan. Quite fancy, good for dinner date.

Pre-Booked for dinner month prior for my birthday trip to Tokyo and it was an unexpected treat! The location was easy to find because it is just off the busy streets in Shibuya; we actually passed it the day prior. We visited Tahona, the bar upstairs, while the staff prepared to open and had a great cocktails (Ready Fire Ain & Rubio) prepared by Antonio. Little did we know he’d help serve us all evening and provide the best recommendations. We chose the set dinner course (7 total) and appreciated their approach on Mexican specialties. This is a fine dining restaurant with true fusion of cultures but it was very approachable, affordable, and Delicious. My favorites were the kampachi fish empanada sprinkled with cojita and served with grasshopper mayo; Scallops and corn fritters in shrimp consumme; Mushroom quesadillas with celery sprouts and Japanese bean paste; Mushroom stuffed Squid with charred chile aho and special treat of Chocolate tamale with coconut ice cream. Also served Bean tamale; Mole milado with Shinto leaf eggplant marinaded pork and chili ashes; and dessert of Persimmon topped with cinnamon, coconut cream and yuzu garnish of edible flowers. We also enjoyed a generously poured mezcal flight and a sample of mezcal from Durango, Mexico.

Koffee Mameya Kakeru is a coffee shop in Tokyo's Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, known for its wide variety of beans and dedication to showcasing the multiple possibilities of the same coffee bean being interpreted into different kinds of drinks.
This was my favorite experience in Japan. I’m not much of a coffee drinker but my wife drinks it religiously. Thought it’d be fun to do a omakase tasting menu. I WAS RIGHT. The ambiance was amazing. Staff provided me insight to how each dish/drink was made and the thought process behind it. Made me really appreciate coffee! My wife got the seasonal tasting coffee menu, and I opted for the cocktail menu. Loved the setup and would recommend this omakase experience to anyone.
Ricky L — Google review
Reservation only. Been wanting to come here for awhile. Unfortunately, it rained on the day we went which made it difficult, but was well worth it. We got there early, but they didn’t seat us until our time. Waiting area has no seating. I would expect a place of this caliber to have something for you to do while you wait. Each reservation gets a dedicated server/barista so your mileage will vary. Ours was great. She made it so fun and enjoyable. Her English was good for us to enjoy the time together. A couple others joined in when we had something fun to share. They all wear lab coats that make it seem very polished and serious, but they are all friendly people. You can order individual cups of coffee of which they have a wide range of beans prepared as a pour over. Much like their other location in Ometesando. The highlight here though is their course menu. They have three. One seasonal coffee, one classic coffee, and one cocktail menu. We got their seasonal and it did not disappoint. It’s pricey, so if you’re looking for value, it’s not the place. If you’re looking for an experience, it’s a great way to spend a few hours. Awesome place to take a date who likes coffee. I love coffee, so I ordered their most expensive bean as an additional order and they were shocked. They don’t sell a lot of it because it’s about $40 a cup. Only one of the baristas were allowed to do the pour so it was fun going through the whole experience. The coffee was also great, though I probably wouldn’t be drinking it on the regular. Awesome time, and thankful for the wonderful staff who made it a great experience.

Absolutely unique and incredible way to experience coffee. Delicious. Our barista/scientist was knowledgeable and kind, and made the best cups of coffee I've ever had. The food pairings for the omakase were also unique and delicious.
Johnny A — Google review
This is not your normal coffee shop. They call it “experience store” and it is for good reason. This is basically a coffee tasting experience where they bring about 4-5 types of making the coffee, with a pairing of a small dish to go with it. They will also explain each process well in English, along the notes and the idea behind the companion dish. Reservations are definitely needed, as they have specific timeslots that need to be adhered to.
Kenny C — Google review
Great experience buying coffee. Please remember that you have to pay for the cup of coffee you get to try. Barrista wear lab coats and are quite professional. They do ask for your preferences and they help you narrow down the different types of coffee’s you should try. Get there early because there is always a line and they can only help three costumers at a time.
Ileana T — Google review
This coffee tasting/omakase experiences was one of our favorite activities! My wife and I are absolute coffee addic--lovers I mean, and getting to do a fancy coffee tasting as opposed to the normal alcohol ones was such a treat. They have several sets to choose from. The barista we had was super nice and knowledgeable, telling us about every type of bean he was preparing for us, as well as about the different styles of preparation. Each drink was paired with a specific bite of food that either enhanced the drink, or the drink enhanced the food. These are just tastings by the way, so don't come here hungry and ready for an entire meal. We bought several bags of coffee as souvenirs to brew at home, of which they tell you the ideal way to grind and brew it, with directions written down and a tiny sample bag of how coarse/fine the beans should be ground. Definitely recommended if you are a coffee aficionado like us!
Khoa N — Google review
This coffee experience was on another level! The coffee scientists have mastered every detail, from flavor to pairings. Definitely something I’d do again when I’m back in Japan. They also have dairy free tasting course!!
Isaac C — Google review
Make sure you reserve in advance. It’s a beautiful setting in a quiet neighbourhood. The baristas were lovely and talked us through each course of the tasting menu which was super interesting and fun, but I’d only do it if you actually like coffee (maybe that’s obvious sorry). Otherwise there is an à la carte menu to choose from. Very relaxing environment. Great for the coffee fans!

Located near Horidome Childrens Park, Parklet Bakery is a cozy and laid-back bakery offering a variety of naturally leavened breads, light bites, and coffee. Managed by the pastry duo Kate Jaksich from Tartine Bakery and Jerry Jaksich from Chez Panisse, this bakery prides itself on using quality ingredients to create diverse offerings such as cheese and black pepper scones and omelette sourdough sandwiches.
This is my fourth time back at one of my favorite brunch spots in Tokyo. The sourdough is probably one of the best I’ve ever had! If I lived in Tokyo, I’d definitely come here almost every morning to enjoy breakfast. My first time here was two years ago, and I’ve kept coming back every time I’ve been in Tokyo. Can sense that the owner here very have high passion to the shop, it would be amazing to be back there again.

PARKLET in Tokyo is an absolute gem. The service is warm and attentive, making you feel instantly welcome. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, perfectly complemented by their excellent coffee. Its location is convenient yet tucked away enough to feel like a hidden escape. The ambiance is calm, stylish, and inviting—ideal for both a relaxed breakfast or an afternoon break. A must-visit bakery in Tokyo. If you are in hotel near by, this is the perfect spot to start your day in Tokyo. I highly recommended.
Irenaldo — Google review
Of all the breakfast spots I have been to in the world, Parklet Bakery is - without exaggeration - the very best. We stayed in a hotel around the corner and went to Parklet every morning. There‘s a wide selection of dishes - both warm and cold - and many vegetarian and vegan choices. Parklet makes their own bread as well as pastries, many of which we tried. The pastries were all really delicious and truly creative, such as a Danish with blueberry cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake or lemon curd filling in the middle. Choices of pastries vary slightly from day to day, so there’s always something new to try when you go more than once. The breakfast menu stays the same every day and breakfast can be ordered in the afternoon, too. We especially enjoyed the smashed avocado bread with oil and dukkah, as well as the granola. However, we also went in the evening when they were open until 10 p.m. — there was a great selection of delicious natural wine from France. There was even an evening menu that had separate dishes than the breakfast menu. For the coffee drinks, Parklet works with local roaster Overview Coffee. We usually order Batch Brews with our breakfast and enjoyed the Ethiopia and Honduras very much. Espresso-based drinks very really well-made, too. The double-shot espresso macchiato was the perfect espresso-milk ratio and the temperature was just perfect, too. Very delicious, I highly recommend to ask for one. Being music lovers, especially Soul and Jazz, we really liked the old school vibes of the music at Parklet. They played all the Soul classics we love. In the evening, the music was different to match the vibe. Most of all I would like to highlight the outstanding level of hospitality and service at Parklet: Every employee is extremely friendly, attentive, works hard, fast and clean. With ten years of experience in hospitality / specialty coffee I can honestly say that any place in the world would be proud to call this team their own. There‘s also a merchandise shelf with some Parklet-branded products, plus coffee, beer, wine, apple juice and other products both local and imported. Parklet offers a variety of seating options such as at the bar, high tables and bar stools, as well as regular tables and comfy chairs. It‘s located on a very quiet street and the other side of the indoors is facing a children‘s playground - lots of fun to watch the kids at play. My wife and I are looking forward to visit you again the next time we‘re in Tokyo. Congrats!

The avocado toast with egg and chili was great. The dark chocolate cookie also very delicious and still gooey inside. The espresso was slightly sour to my taste buds but overall great experience.

I was looking for sourdough bread in Tokyo and this place came up in my search. It’s not easy to find so I was excited to try it. They have lots of bread and sandwich options, which all look good, but I just wanted the sourdough loaf. You can either get a small or a large loaf, and the small is actually quite big. They will slice it for you as well. And it is delicious. I got a warm loaf and had to try some of it immediately. It was fantastic. It’s also good the next day in a toaster. The staff told me that their loaf is a bit denser so it doesn’t keep as long, so to eat it in a day or two. The staff were friendly and the space is a cool place to sit and have a slice. I’ll certainly be back.
Alright R — Google review
If you want a table, you might have to queue for a while. But you can skip the queue outside if you are just getting takeaway. The (vegan) avocado toast is pretty decent, if a bit expensive for one slice, the bread is very nice and on the harder side, which I like. The avocado itself wasn’t the best tasting avocado, but that’s typical for Japan. The dukkah and olive oil do a pretty good job of hiding that though. I didn’t love the coffee (oatmilk latte). It felt like it was a little under-extracted? There is a nice park outside, great for kids.

Come during week day lunch to avoid being charge the 500 yen per person and requirement to buy a drink each person. RSVP with their website is also recommended instead of just walk in if you’re a foreigner. For 300 yen more they will add a salad and bread to your entree, during lunch time. We thought that was a good deal. We tried eel risotto, crab pasta and beef stew with wine sauce. Risotto rice was al dente. We thought the flavor profile of the pastas were ok. The beef stew dish was the best.
Mai T — Google review
We passed this restaurant while walking to our hotel and thought we’d come back and give it a try. Great decision. The food was excellent. My wife and I split the large Caesar salad (which was a little too big) and an order of bread with truffle butter. She had the Wagyu beef dish and I had the petit size Rossini filet. Both were delicious although I thought mine was better. The Rossini was medium rare with foie gras on top that was seared on the bottom and had a delicious peppercorn sauce. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes and the sauce was superb. The foie grad patty was amazingly delicious. The restaurant was busy even at 3 pm in a Sunday but we were able to sit at the upstairs bar and watch the chefs in action which was fun. They were winding down from the lunch rush and prepping for dinner so the sous chef was slicing a huge quantity of amazingly thin mushroom slices and prepping sauces for the dinner service. The pasta chef and the pizza chef were spinning out the last orders from late lunches. Few words were exchanged and it looked like a carefully choreographed ballet. The bill including the large salad, bread, mains, a glass of wine and a glass of beer and the service charge was about $73 US which by Los Angeles standards is remarkably low. I don’t think we could have gotten the main dishes alone for that in LA. The only annoying thing was the service charge of 500 yen per person which we haven’t seen anywhere else in Japan in our 2 weeks here so far. But I understand that it’s Ginza and rent is expensive. So that’s about a 10% service charge which is still below LA standards of 18-20%.

Restaurant is located on the second floor of building, can take building elevator or restaurant stairs to access 2nd floor of restaurant. We made reservation on Google but for some reason, restaurant staff said it was for a different restaurant when I showed them our email confirmation. Anyway after a few back and forth exchanges to confirm this is the restaurant we tried to book and want to dine in, we were seated (luckily there were still tables still available). We had the cheese plate, large caesar salad and king crab roll wrapped in avocado as starters to share amongst the four of us. All tasted good but not overwhelming. The server had mixed up our order and brought us carpaccio instead but once I told the staff the order was incorrect, the server who took our order came back and immediately apologized for the mix up and reconfirmed the appetizer that we had originally ordered which was the king crab roll. For mains, we ordered the blue crab tomato sauce pasta, eel risotto, foie gras steak, braised wagyu beef. For the steak with foie gras, the steak temperature was cooked perfectly but personally found it a little bit too salty so was a little bit disappointed since it was the star of the show. However the other mains tasted great. The pasta with crab had an enticing aroma of the sea, garlic, herbs . The texture of the pasta is perfectly cooked (note they do put the whole crab in including the shell so its not just crab meat). My teen devoured the whole plate of eel risotto before I could get a bite so I am assuming it was nothing less than great. 😉 The braised wagyu dish was lovely as the meat just melts in your mouth. For dessert we had the seasonal mont blanc (with purple potatoes) and the passion fruit/mango pudding. The mont blanc was built of ice cream surrounded by meringue pieces (?) and it had a slightly tartness to it which balances out well with the overall sweetness of the dessert. It was then topped with the purple potatoe puree at the table. This was shared amongst the 3 of us and it was the perfect ending to our meal.

I bought the blueberry shake espresso. In my opinion, it was just alright. The blueberry taste is very mild, and I thought they would pour a shot of espresso, but apparently, it's only a sprinkle of ground coffee. Either way, it is still refreshing but really nothing special. A plus side of this place is that if you want to chill or work during the weekend, it is a perfect spot. Sometimes it's hard to find a less crowded coffee shop in Tokyo during the weekend. Fret not, Allpress Toranomon is the perfect place for you to enjoy a cup of coffee in a spacious area with a large seating capacity. Overlooking the Toranomon Hills complex, the view from the cafe is astounding. People who come here dress really well, so the crowd is also nice. The music selection is good as well.

Great coffee, as always. Beautifully prepared flat white, interesting coffee-rum cocktail (too sweet for my taste, but has a nice warmth of spiciness in it). Love the variety of brunch menu. Different sandwiches on a nice sourdough bread and tasty mixed plates. There are some sweet options for your to your coffee (like banana bread etc.) and the air itself smells like baked goods ☺️ The cafe also has its own merchandise.

Best coffee in Toranomon! Upscale but relaxed branch of Allpress conveniently placed in 1st floor of Toranomon Hills Business Tower. There’s plenty of seats to enjoy coffee, breakfast or brunch options and some sweets. They also have nice counter to pop in with laptop and do some work. Service is top notch as all menu options are! My personal favorite is their flat white with peanut butter banana sandwich!

Very good coffee and plenty of seating in a modern building in Toranomon in Tokyo. Located amongst lots of offices, in a very modern and new building, Allpress is a welcoming spot. It's very well lit, nicely designed and feels welcoming. The coffee is very good. Served by a team if hard working and friendly crew. The food menu is limited but everything was top notch. Highly recommend it to anyone in the neighbourhood.

Great cafe in Toranomon Hills Business Tower. Elongated layout, stretching the length of the floor. Nice light decor, with plenty of individual and duo seating. Nice long table for bigger groups on one side. Hot chocolate was well made and tasty. Selection of cakes and cookies looked delicious too. Chill tunes playing overhead.

The oat milk latte was so good, my boyfriend and I came back 3 times for more! Highly recommend, staff is very sweet and attentive too. The avocado toast with soft boiled egg is delicious as well. We came from Los Angeles, and this is so much better than all the cafes in LA! We hope to come back a 4th time, lol.

Upon entering this charming establishment, you'll find a cozy dining area to your left and an enticing array of Japanese culinary treasures throughout the store.
Wonderful teishoku, reasonably priced and extremely fast service. It has many small shops around with related products which makes it a great place to visit for lunch and shopping.

Nice set meal Place in a bigger complex designed by Kengo Kuma . Since it is all self service and portions are small I the prices are a bit expensive ranging between 1580-2000 for a basic set. The food is good and especially the quality of rice (which is the brand’s main product). Second floor has a nice display of zakka (misc. goods). The atmosphere and space are worth the visit.

The rich texture of their espresso truly sets it apart, making each sip an experience to savor.
I had the best espresso here in Japan so far. It is easy to find decent coffee these days with a little bit of care but this coffee was perfect. It was fairly obvious that the kind barista girl cared about what she is doing and about the customers. Fantastic service, amazing coffee, too bad it's not a little bit bigger place, but it has its charm. I wish them good luck and many success, they deserve it.

Wagashi Kunpu is a unique Japanese sweet shop that offers an unconventional pairing of sake and traditional Japanese sweets. The store presents an array of original and unfamiliar Japanese confections, some even infused with cloudy sake. The owner's background in food development is evident in the innovative creations such as dorayaki filled with ingredients like apples, grapes, and rhubarb. Visitors are treated to a tasting experience where they can sample three types of Japanese sweets and three types of sake.
Authentic Japanese experience in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We had three Japanese confections paired with three types of sake. The owner/chef will greet you warmly and explain the menu which is based on seasonal ingredients. Each sweet is handmade, beautifully plated and memorable. Uncle Joe is a popular spot in Ameyoko offering classic Korean street foods, bubble tea, fresh smoothies, and juice. Visitors rave about the cheese tteokbokki and honey-filled hotteok on the menu. The potato rela is described as short French fries with cheese batter while the hattok resembles a chewy doughnut warmed in the microwave. Some recommendations include hotteok with honey cheese and crunchy pancakes with optional cheese topping.
Despite the crowds and noise outside, the restaurant offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is full of Korean favorites, from classic dishes like bibimbap and bulgogi to more unique options like seafood pancakes and kimchi fried rice. However, the standout dishes are undoubtedly the hot dog, mango juice, and yum yum chicken.

It's rare to find a store that sells street-style hot snacks like this one, and they offer pre-made, limp products, but this store was happy to offer freshly fried hot snacks. In terms of customer service, although the staff member is of Southeast Asian descent, she was cheerful and courteous and made me feel comfortable, although her Japanese was broken. This time, I ordered the ``Cheese Hat Tog'', which was freshly fried and served crispy, so I was able to enjoy it until the end. However, since it is located in one of the busiest areas in Tokyo and a tourist destination, it is a store that only has terrace seating, so you should ignore the fact that it lacks a sense of cleanliness. (Translated by Google) This shop, located next to the Yaesu Central ticket gate, opened on May 16, 2024. Visited on September 1, 2025. I was curious about Butter's Cousin, which I'd never seen before, so I stopped by. They also sell freshly baked curry bread and other items. Apparently, they started selling four varieties of Butter's Cousin individually starting today. I was looking for a souvenir to buy in a few days, so I first wanted to try the most popular milk flavor, so I bought one. Although unpackaged products were on display, I was given a packaged one. The expiration date was approximately 10 days from the date of manufacture, and the product I purchased expired on September 11. One piece had 132 kcal. It cost 378 yen. A pack of three cost 1,080 yen (tax included) (it seems to have gone up a little), so it was a bit pricey. They were presented in a very cute, cardboard-like, strong, collapsible package. They even had a sticker attached. Taste rating: I tried it right after I bought it, and the texture was chewy. Like a thin, wet rice cracker. This might be a matter of personal preference. It's similar to the Dutch specialty stroopwafel, but less dense. I prefer something chewier, like a chewy or crispy one. The filling has a creamy butter cake flavor. It has a subtle sweetness that would go well with black coffee. Overall, the packaging is cute and well thought out, but it was expensive and I didn't like the taste, so I ruled it out as a souvenir. The staff were friendly, and I'm glad I got to try it. There were many quality souvenirs, including an assortment of Japanese-style chocolates and souvenirs with Tokyo Tower designs. Is it for foreigners? I think even Japanese people would be happy if they received this. There was also chocolate that looked exactly like a golf ball. I think this would be great for Valentine's Day too. There was a large chocolate object at the entrance! Very eye-catching! (I was also drawn to it) It is a luxurious shop with a sophisticated interior. (Translated by Google) A shop where you can purchase colorful and beautiful chocolate work at reasonable prices. My sister-in-law loves Disney and chocolate, so I bought a dress-shaped chocolate as a gift. When I called to make a reservation, I was told that the colors were white and pink, and that there were three types of dresses, so I could choose one at the time of purchase. It was great to be able to see and choose the real thing on the day I received it, and also to see how wonderful the other chocolates were. However, the expiration date is surprisingly short, so I thought it would be a waste to break it up and eat it, even though it was beautiful. (Translated by Google) I was intrigued by the line that was forming at Shibuya Scramble Square and bought it. Being able to eat canelés from restaurants all over the country in one day was irresistible to canelé lovers! I actually wanted to eat them all, but this time I bought plain, Ouchiyama milk, and French canelé. Even though the canelé had the same plain taste as the texture and the aroma of the rum, it was completely different and very delicious. I've become even more fascinated by canelés, so if I find an event being held nearby, I'd like to go buy them again.
