Arrived at this establishment for a retirement lunch with family about 2pm. We were greeted and seated promptly. The waitstaff to our drink orders and provided menus. About 15 minutes later the cook came out and greeted us and began to prepare our meal right before our eyes. He was neat, clean and very entertaining as worked to prepare our food. We enjoyed the other patrons at our table. It has been quite a long time since we last visited, but we return very soon.

June 5th, 2025 was my first dine in experience here. My flt. crew and I decided on hibachi and sushi for our overnight here in TYR as we all seem to have a love for Asian cuisine. I had a lil' hibachi style salmon some assortment of sushi and even tried a sushi bowl. I also indulged in the pretty drinks/ adult beverages they offered. Came here for a nice fun dinner and it was so amazing. From the atmosphere to the service, everything great. We ordered the steak hibachi meal and got it perfectly cooked. The chef was so funny and gave us a great show. Our server also was so attentive and gave us great recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. 11/10 highly recommend.

I love Shogun’s so much!! And today—JACOB was the GOAT 🐐! He always had our drinks perfect and kept the best vibe the whole time. 10/10 service every visit!

Good food but hope you do not get Chef Juan he did not talk to us the entire time and did not even acknowledge us. He also was very brutal with his communication skills because we had a gluten free guest with us and proceeded to cook the steak in a cross contact area.

The chef was great and kept all the guests entertained. Salad, soup, sushi, and main course were all good.

It was my grandsons birthday and it was super busy but the hostess was so kind and sat us so quick!! I didn’t get her name but she had blonde, red, and brown hair and she was so kind! We got sat immediately and service was good we had a female server with dark hair she was very attentive. Overall food was great and our grandson had a great time!

This is probably ONE of the better Sushi bars in Northeast Texas. The service was outstanding. The food is Great. LIKE ALWAYS. A shout out to Vivian. Thank you so much for the service you provided. Very professional.

Absolutely loved it here, I went with friends and I know it was like a hour or so before closing. Had a wonderful time. Waitress was absolutely great and on point in keeping our drinks filled. Food was delicious. I guess the manage come out to apologize bout a issue and offer us free food. It was my first time ever to each sushi. Always thought I would not like it but loved it, so tasty. Will absolutely go again.

Great little Japanese restaurant kind of hidden away! They have a nice bar and mixed drink/wine list. The sushi was very tasty, and the portions larger than expected! Worth coming back again!

We have eaten at Wasabi since it first opened. We've experienced the ups and downs over the years. The food has always been fairly consistent. We went last night and it was the first time we have ever left a portion of a roll or the remains of our meals. It was off and not by just a little. They obviously have staffing issues. There were a handful of tables last night, which is far fewer than normal for a Friday night at 1900. The restaurant needs a deep and thorough cleaning. Last night we came out with the smell heavy on our clothes, more than usual. My wife said the women's bathroom was filthy and disgusting. Regrettably, we will not be back until ownership/management addresses these issues and gets this establishment back on track with what we have enjoyed in the past. I would welcome communication from ownership to discuss issues and specifics in detail.

My husband and I dine here frequently and love it. We've always had great service and the sushi is the best in town. My go to is the cucumber wrap, and my husband loves the wasabi roll. As an appetizer we always get the tuna tower. The atmosphere is spacious and relaxing.

Absolute amazing service. They were quick, patient and very helpful! We were here for the first time and they talked us thru everything and explained things we didn’t know! Food was amazing and fresh and the service was fast and efficient! Very calm vibes and a great place to meet friends or have a nice date! They offer a HUGE variety of different sushi’s and other delicious foods! Highly recommended!!!

Wow! Wasabi brought it; the sushi, the service, and the vibe! We accidentally walked into one of the coolest restaurants in Tyler. The music was an indie fan's dream and Robert was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu and top picks. We literally have already planned our new trip to Wasabi and what we want to try next. The portions are HUGE and SO fresh. The sauces that were paired with our sushi were perfection! #GoogleGal

Honestly, it was fun, enjoyable, very considerate of allergies!!!! I have a seafood allergy and they were very accommodating! The cook was so funny, he interacted with everyone. Honestly made the experience even more fun!!!

This is how I received my salad. Literally just plain lettuce. Absolutely no ginger dressing, which i actually ordered 2 of. No carrots or cabbage, this is just embarrassing. My shrimp was pretty overcooked too. But hey at least my soup was decent 🙄

Two in our party and joined 4 others for hibachi grill. Wife and I shared shrimp tempura roll. For lunch we had steak and shrimp with fried rice and vegetables. They offered a $2 upgrade to filet Mignon over strip steak and I highly suggest this option. Steak had a wonderful flavor and was ultimately tender and delicious. It was my wife’s birthday and they surprised her with a pineapple boat desert. Chef was great hibachi cooking and was entertaining.

Overall, it was a great experience. We came from another hibachi place here in Tyler to Yamato, and I’m glad we did. The restaurant was clean, the service was excellent, and they even have a koi pond out front — though it’s goldfish for now instead of koi. Still, I wasn’t there for the pond. Our server was attentive, and the chef was fantastic — he kept my daughter and the two little boys at the table entertained with jokes and fire tricks. The food was great, especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly. The real standout, though, was the noodles — I don’t know what seasoning or sauce they used, but they were easily the best part of the meal. Overall, a great place for lunch. Hopefully, in the future, they’ll clean out the pond and add some real koi to match the rest of the atmosphere.

Good service and the place was clean and tidy. Lunch specials come with soup and salad. The salmon set was delicious with decent slices of salmon. The atmosphere was dark and gloomy and was somewhat warm inside while eating my meal.

This is our place as my husband and myself call it. We come here on Valentines and our Anniversary. We have never been disappointed. Always pleased with everything . We always get the Hibachi. Last night Sept 29th 2025 we came for our Anniversary and had the best experience. Thank you all for making our Anniversary so wonderful.

We have always enjoyed Yamato!! Great food and always fresh fish. Pretty cool there was an artist in the house. This is definitely one of our go to spots in Tyler!! Service is always on point and resturant is always clean!! Price is comparable to other places in the area.

First time here. The food was absolutely amazing. Got here late on a Friday during the storms. Paul was a great server, cool, and all-around good person. Meals were cooked to perfection. Just have to say we were near some parties that were extremely loud. I got stuck on a corner next to the entryway adjacent to the other party. The lady sitting next to me knocked over her soup, which spilled all over my pants and new shoes. The lady didn't even care to apologize. Lastly, what is up with the slippery floors??? From the moment we walked into the back tables, the floors were super slippery and so greasy!

Sat at the sushi bar and had a fantastic evening speaking to the chefs, who prepared equally incredible food for us. All the staff and servers we interacted with were very helpful, informative, and friendly, and the restaurant’s interior was quite beautiful. There’s a full bar, and we were also graced with live music from a local performer. Prices are fair as well, especially for the quality. We plan to make this a regular stop, and look forward to coming back soon. Will definitely have to give the hibachi grill a try sometime, but it looked fantastic from a distance, and everyone seemed to be having an excellent time.

The experience was phenomenal. The food was amazing. I had never eaten at a hibachi lounge that such amazing food! I will definitely be going back and very soon best hibachi experience I've had.

Kawa Sushi in Tyler is one of our go-to spots for great sushi! We had a party of eight on a Saturday, so the service was a bit slower than usual, and it was louder than normal, but that’s to be expected with a busy night. The sushi, as always, was fresh and delicious with a wide variety to choose from—everything from classic rolls to creative pairings that surprisingly work. Easily the best sushi we’ve found in Tyler!

What a wonderful place! First visit last Wednesday at noon. Great noon special. Quiet, nice atmosphere. Waitress was very pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I can't stop talking about this place! LOVE!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Came for lunch. Rolls were fantastic and decent price! Got Lo Mein for main dish it was good as well. They serve big portions, which is great!!Inside was very relaxing with plenty of space for any size group of people. Employees were great! Our waitress was the bartender and she was fantastic and very helpful. I’ll be back to try out the hibachi!

Had an excellent lunch here. The number of items that come with the lunch specials is impressive, as is their quality. The steak and scallop fried rice was quite tasty. Highly recommend!

My kids and I had a good experience eating here. The food was delicious! Lots of seafood options, chicken, fried foods. Some vegetable options as well, although I wish there were more vegetable dishes available. The sushi was very, very good! And my kids loved that there is ice cream for dessert. The restaurant appeared clean, and the staff was very nice.

Pretty good food for a buffet. The vegetables were super fresh and crispy. As a safety measure they have you use gloves when serving up your food which is a smart idea. 4 different hand scooped ice cream options was a nice finish to the meal!

Not as good as it usually is. Some of the foods were barely warm. Some too spicy hot no warning. Chicken wings needed to be cooked longer didn't look like it wasn't cooked inside. Stir fry needed to be cooked a little bit longer too. Some of the veggies were still to hard and crunchy. Chicken on the stick was a bit dry it's always been moist . Will maybe try again in the future

My first visit to a Chinese Buffett in Tyler. Food was great they didn't have Beef & Broccoli which is a favorite. Environment was laid back & dim.

So we came here for lunch to celebrate my honey’s birthday. We love a good Chinese restaurant. With that being said as you can see in the picture my daughter didn’t even touch her food and he didn’t eat either. So no we are not impressed. This was our first time here and we will not be coming again.

Clean restroom. Food very tasty. Sushi out of this world. Small selections, but the quality is top rated. All you can eat buffet. So worth the 2 hours drive.

I recommend the Poke Bowl. You can choose many different varieties. I ordered 1/2 white rice, 1/2 brown rice, chose Red Snapper, spicy ponzu sauce, crab meat, masago, carrots, & pickled cabbage on mine. Ordered delivery a couple of times. Went inside once. Very busy and it's very small & crowded so the food is great but the atmosphere not so much.

I decided to try this place for lunch after seeing all the good reviews. Overall, the food is okay. We ordered three different kinds of rolls: the Hello Kitty, a vegetable roll, and a shrimp tempura roll. I personally found the Hello Kitty roll to be too heavy on the cream cheese, but that's just my opinion. I liked their take on the vegetable roll; it has seasoned tofu alongside several veggies. The rolls are quite large in diameter and I had to cut up some of the pieces to eat them. Again, the food was alright. The free miso soup was a nice touch. Where GoFish needs to focus is the cleanliness of their building. It has a worn look on the inside that had me questioning the cleanliness of the kitchen. Granted, I realize it is a very small, high-volume restaurant, however, the interior doors are covered in greasy fingerprints where you push them open, there is chipping paint on the wall, the floors look like they could use a good scrubbing, and frankly, the woman's bathroom was pretty abysmal. I don't know how the vent fan was still running with all the dust that was on it and the mirror has started to desilver. Also, the front counter area is very compact and small but it is quite cluttered and the equipment needs a good wipe down. One of the signs in front misspelled "Japanese". The handheld menus were sticky and the table numbers are falling apart. While these are all small things, together they do make me question how clean the kitchen is. After reading the lower rated reviews, it seems as though this has been an issue for quite some time. As a new customer to the owners, I would encourage you to have a deep clean/touch up day. It's obvious by the size of the lunch crowd that you are very popular and there's no reason to lose customers over cleanliness or maintenance issues. Edited to say: I appreciate the owner's quick response. This could easily be a five-star restaurant once the maintenance issues have been addressed.

I am from out of state, but everytime I have the opportunity to go to Tyler, this is the only place I eat at. The staff was able to help me remember the last item I had on my visit from months ago and it tastes even better than before. For anyone that loves a blend of flavors... I recommend the "Out Of Control."

Went a couple weeks ago and it was great. Decided to go again today and go through the drive-thru this time and wow I am disappointed. The difference is insane, I guess make sure you eat inside if you want to get the left pic and not the right

Really good Japanese style food. Nice start with complimentary miso soup. Seaweed salad good. Spicy Edamame really flavorful and warm. XOXO sushi roll nice. Touch of sweet with lots of flavor and crunch on top.

Wow my daughter's and I LOVE this place! The Sushi is fantastic and it's reasonably priced. Very creative menu with a huge selection of rolls. We will definitely continue going here to eat.

Me and my coworkers order here every Friday, and it’s honestly the highlight of our week. The sushi is always fresh, perfectly made, and consistently delicious. The rolls come out quick, the presentation is always clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed—perfect for unwinding after a long week. We’ve tried just about everything on the menu, and it’s all been great (especially the Krispy Crunch Roll). If you’re looking for a sushi place that never disappoints, this is it. Highly recommend!

The BEST spicy tonkotsu ramen, all the ingredients are delicious and fresh-tasting; the broth especially! After recently moving, I just want to say I keep trying to find a ramen place that holds a candle to Mikoto; no such luck. 10/10 will come again!

Best ramen I’ve had in TX! Stopped in on our overnight in Tyler driving home to Austin. Service was friendly and fast, nice ambiance. I had the spicy curry ramen and loved it - great subtle curry flavor and the pulled pork in it was tasty and unique. Boyfriend had the spicy Tonkatsu, excellent broth. Ample toppings on both. We both would have liked both dishes a little spicier but they do have an option to make it spicier. If I’m ever back in Tyler we’d certainly come back

This was my first time to visit Mikoto's. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent! The experience and atmosphere was very modern. A modern twist to Japanese style. I will go back soon!

Ramen so good I ate the same thing two days in a row.

The food was AMAZING! Me, my husband and our two kids had an amazing time! Must try: Miso Tonkotsu, Shaggy Dog Roll, Volcano Roll,Tiger Roll, Spicy Chicken Ramen. Our waiter was AWESOME! Tarik P, he recommended some good Ramen! Will definitely be back.

It’s a small and affordable sushi and ramen bar. We were seated quickly and had great service. But there was some confusion and delay. It’s a tight atmosphere, but clean and cozy.
