Nestled in the vibrant heart of Hanoi, Binh Minh Jazz Club is a hidden treasure that beckons jazz lovers from all corners. Located just behind the iconic Hanoi Opera House and a short stroll from Hoan Kiem Lake, this intimate venue exudes an old-school charm that perfectly complements its live music offerings. Founded in 1998 by the esteemed saxophonist Quyen Van Minh, the club showcases an impressive lineup of local talents alongside international musicians on special occasions.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Binh Minh Jazz Club! Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff who kindly carved out a spot for us even though we arrived a bit late for the live jazz set.
The musicians were incredibly talented, bringing us on a captivating journey through both classic standards and more niche tunes.
The drinks were delightful, though slightly pricier than nearby bars. However, the cost was more than justified by the outstanding experience and the remarkable performances by the musicians, including the legendary Mr. Quyền Văn Minh himself.
Would highly recommend this extraordinary experience during your trip to Hanoi!

Very nice friendly low-key jazz club. Great atmosphere good music. I did not have anything to eat there. And I had to actually get up out of my chair and tap the waiter on the shoulder to get a drink while he was looking at his phone. But I had a great time there. In fairness to the staff, it was Saturday night and the place was packed and I got there late.
Tucked away on a quiet corner near the Opera House, Binh Minh Jazz Club holds the unique title of being Hanoi’s oldest jazz club, and it lives up to the legacy with warmth, authenticity, rhythm that lingers long after the music stops, and the atmosphere is electric—cozy, intimate, but also happening.
Thoroughly enjoyed soaking in the smooth jazz melodies this weekend evening. The vibe was perfectly relaxed, and the cozy atmosphere made it a truly immersive experience

I think anyone must spend an evening here when in Hanoi. The hospitality and artists are impeccable. I got to watch and listen to Dattie Do and her pianist and double bassist – I didn’t manage to catch the latter names but they were delightful. An utterly memorable experience. P.s. I didn’t order any food and stayed with a red all night. Here’s a poem I composed that night. It’s called “Glass of Wine”.

Great music and super great musicians! you will definitely enjoy a good Jazz music. Their performance starts at 21:00, reach earlier to get a good seat with a view as the place gets booked up quickly. It is a gem in Hanoi, small and cozy place with a great atmosphere, worth a visit!

Visited a few bars in Hanoi and I have to admit this place serves the best pho cocktail!! I came here with low expectations but the drink turns out to be better than expected. It was the closest to pho taste I've had by far... Great herb taste, subtle spiciness and it's just so refreshing!
I'm not the kinda person who loves a drink based on the funny shows but having a great show is a bonus. I only had one drink so... Not too sure about other cocktails.
Pho mojito costs VND125k and thank goodness they accept credit cards.

A nice cocktail bar. It lacks in ambience late afternoon and would benefit from some kind of happy hour on the cocktails to elevate the experience. Our cocktails were good but not as good as several cocktail bars we’ve visited during our time in Hanoi. Great choice of music- Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack! Passionate and professional staff. I’m sure the atmosphere arrives later in the evening, especially when the Alchemist opens. FYI you have to walk through this bar to get to the Alchemist.
Great cocktails and a cool vibe! Very happy to see a bourbon cocktail on the menu, all the drinks we got were perfectly balanced. We had manhattans (made perfectly), The Pho, and the Irishman in Hanoi - all were delicious.

Walking past this place to get to another but decided to stop for a craft beer and some food, we had the juicy peach and cheekie Blonde beers, for food we had the craft sausage combo and was so tasty! staff are helpful and attentive, great views of the lake with sunset. Couldn’t ask for more!

A really popular pub with cozy vibe. Balcony and front door seats offer nice views of the nearby lake. There was a DJ when we visited but barely anyone dancing, so really it was just for chilling with friends.

Amazing bar in west lake area, kinda hidden locations and truly speakeasy bar. It be like a hidden gem you must try in Hanoi. The drinks are good, the staff are very helpful with good knowledge about their signature and alcohol stuff. The cocktails were incredible, and Steve took such great care of us. He crafted some delicious, tailored Negronis using unique bitters and a variety of gins and vermouths. We also tried a few of their signature cocktails, which were just as impressive. Highly recommend stopping by if you love a well-made drink and great service!

Great restaurant. I tried their veggie burger and it was delicious. It comes with a side of fries that are amazing, perfect texture and taste (and pretty thick). The place has a cool, stylish, artsy vibe. Staff is quite cool as well, friendly and nice, speaking fluent English. Great place to go chat and chill. English menu available. Would go back for sure.

A great place for food and drinks! The atmosphere was excellent, we sat in comfy chairs with a low table and our server was very nice. We ordered the social club burger, the green bean salad, and tofu chips, and for dessert we had the chocolate orange cake and sticky date pudding. I wish I had taken a picture of our entrees because everything was so good, especially the salad, which I wish I could have again. I highly recommend!

Very cool place to hang out for a cocktail or two, which is what we did. The mulberry smoked rum cocktail was like sweet bbq while the “pho” was a gin based cocktail with lime and chilli and flavours of pho.
They had a cherry ripe dessert ( but were sold out ) and palova which looked great. They also have a lot of vegan choices, though we didn’t try any food.
The art works are really amazing - I keep seeing faces in the prints. The link to the local artist Nyugen is in the pics.

Such a cool spot with artworks on display upstairs that are pretty inspiring. Downstairs with a few sets of tables to chill at and it gets full quickly. I would definitely recommend the fresh pineapple with mint leaves, super refreshing and healthy ( ask them to leave out the sugar)

I ordered cocoa coconut cream and watermelon juice. Both are great and fresh. I did drink them all and forgot to take some pic of drinks since I ordered as take out since I ran out of time. The atmosphere there was amazing.
Quiet, artistic, and worth a visit! I really liked this place—it’s quiet, quaint, and beautifully simple. The art gallery is free to view, and the paintings were all thoughtfully curated. We grabbed a drink at the café too. A nice, calm break from the busy streets of Hanoi.

The place is a bit shabby (hot and rickety wood). Though probably to protect the artists, the no photographs signs makes the place feel a bit unwelcoming. That, on top of the staff ignoring me even though I planned to order a drink 🥲.

We had a very bad experience 😔. The food was really not good — maybe it was just an off day, but it was disappointing. We wouldn’t go there again.

Searched for rooftop bars, and this one did not disappoint. I was surprised at how good the food was. I had an exceptional meal...the best rice paper spring rolls I've ever had-they're called summer rolls on the menu. The dipping sauce alone was worth the price of admission. Fresh, full of flavors, and delicious! Mushroom soup next, very good, then the pork with noodles, which was fantastic. Some fried bananas for dessert after two Negronis? Tuck me into bed happy lol

The food here is quite good, especially their lunch sets. Staff are nice and pro. Decor with lots of plants (real and fake) so it looks cool and cozy. Sometimes they have small events here but it is often quiet during daytime
Some popular pop singers perform here. On nights like that the cafe will take additional fee (around $15) on top of the over-priced drinks. Not all seats offer nice view of the stage so book before hand. Sound system is average.
Really like it! Highly recommend. So chill when coming here for some cocktail (or something) while enjoying fabulous music, sometimes even has events with Vietnam popular singers.

Le Club Bar, located in the French Quarter of Hanoi, is a legendary cocktail lounge that overlooks a serene hotel garden courtyard. The bar holds historical significance as it was built on the former Metropole Hall, where the first gala meeting and movie screening in Indo-China took place in 1916. This classy establishment offers live jazz music every weekend from 8:00 PM to 11:45 PM.
We stayed in Sofitel Metropole Hanoi and Le Club is a perfect place for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner.
We tried the afternoon tea for 1 pax at VND 690k, and an egg coffee at VND 190k. Good variety of savoury and sweets, with a generous portion of fresh fruits too.
We were here for our dinner. There was a live band from 8-10.45pm, even though it’s a weekday. The jazz band was professional.
We ordered Vietnamese pho and the waiter was so nice to split our order into 2 small bowls after knowing that we were sharing the food. Good initiative 👍🏻
We had fresh oysters at VND 800 for 6 pieces, and tiramisu too.
A perfect ambience for a relaxing night. We are Accord member and to our surprise, our orders were given 50% discounts!!! Highly recommended to stay in Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, and also be an Accord member!!!

We stopped into the legendary Metropole bar before dinner. It is a beautiful hotel. After paying a ridiculous amount for two cocktails and absentee service, I wondered if my worship of Graham Greene was worth the outlay. It probably was.
The staffs were ok and location’s perfect but the drinks and cakes here r so terrible. Egg coffee was too sweet, croissant was plain and too soft, nothing’s up to French standard. Chocolate marmalade’s also too sweet, the french toast’s not special at all and also too spongy. This aint worth 5 star quality at all. Came here a few times and always very disappointed. Also the outside sofas r very dirty. I seriously didnt want to sit down. Chose this place just bcus my family insisted on going here for breakfast.
An amazing place to be. It's the best choice to have a couple of beers while listening to some live jazz music. The singer has a very powerful and angelic voice, accompanied by talented musicians. Let's not forget about the welcoming, professionalism, and politeness from the bar's stuff. The whole package made my night.
The Vietnamese pho ga (chicken rice noodles soup) and bun tom (vermicilli in prawn tomato broth) are both excellent. The environment here is beautiful to spend a lovely morning or afternoon.

Visited here twice during my stay in Hanoi and was mightily impressed by the Signature Drinks and Live Bands performing. Maple Band blew me away with some excellent covers and solos the first time while Hits Band blew me away with a great variety of selections from Skater Boy to Quando, Quando, Quando and a personal request that made my night (I'm Feeling Good, Michael Bublé Style -> Thank you Vũ <3) on the second night. Even the song / mix selection was excellent before and after the live music, it could have kept me moving all night!

A small but beautiful opera house built 🇫🇷 France. It is still famous as a place where performances are performed. It's not very expensive, so I recommend you to watch a performance if you have a chance.
As a site to view this is best described as faded glory. Something of a time capsule with a facade in need of repairs but charming for not having a huge restoration. No doubt they will renovate in time..
Such a beautiful historical landmark. It might be complained as a replica of Opera Garnier but still plays an important role throughout our history 🇻🇳.

This place stood out to me on Google maps when I was finding my location in the area. I was imagining it much differently in my mind as more spacious and larger but it’s definitely more compact and less seating area than I thought.
The inside is a bit cold with a/c on blast while outdoors it’s possible people smoke. You must take your shoes off on the upper floor and it has a room with some table and a couch and another balcony like seating area where you sit on the floor or a more spacious seat that was already occupied.
Def yummy goodies and drinks here and the inspiring display of books and dark wood combo. Overall smaller than expected and could not feel totally at ease. Outside space would be better if they didn’t allow smoking.

We were very lucky to find this hidden gem! We had a great night with live music. The local coverband consisted of very talented musicians (they could be a bit more interactive with the audience though). There were two singers who were on the other hand very interactive and also really good. I would definitely recommend going here.

It’s a hidden coffee shop with the view to the Hang Ma St. On sunny day, I understand why it called “Nắng” (sunny in Vietnamese) since the golden sunlight casts perfectly on the café.
After walk through a narrow path to the old houses, you climb up the stairs and find it. The interior is ordinary, quite nostalgic. The highlight of the café is definitely its balcony, but I only recommend to sit there in the evening or during autumn/winter/spring since there’re only few fans. The coconut coffee here feel authentic without any artificial ingredients since it’s not too sweet, like most coconut out there. I can even find some flesh unblended in the texture.
The place is very unique, located on the upper floor where you can see the busy intersection below. To enter the café, you have to go through a small alley beside the shops. The drinks are delicious — I really like the passion yogurt. The staff are so friendly and nice, definitely will come back again!

Great place for a drink and laughing gas, poor food, ok staff! Specifically catering towards the westerners...The menu is a mix of burgers, pizza and nacho/taco etc mixes, along with some Vietnamese meals. Prices are around 90-130 vnd each. I would strongly recommend against going there for the food...but, highly recommend going there if you want to be part of the partying tourist scene. There are some great lounges and seating areas outside to watch the busy street pass by.

The servers will also ignore you after you’ve ordered your first drink and place all their attention in bringing more people in. They also charge an additional 10% VAT plus a 5% service charge.
