Amusement park
Warner Bros. Movie World is a film-themed amusement park that offers an exhilarating experience for visitors of all ages. The park features thrilling rides, including the DC Rivals HyperCoaster, as well as live stunt shows such as the Hollywood Stunt Driver show. Families can meet their favorite characters from movies and cartoons, with opportunities to interact with superheroes and stars during daily parades.
Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast is a place that instantly brings out your inner child. From the nostalgic charm of classics like The Wizard of Oz to the thrill of seeing DC superheroes come to life, it’s an adventure that blends excitement, fun, and imagination all in one. The park is full of energy, with plenty to explore, and every corner feels like stepping into a scene from a movie. The roller coasters are the highlight for thrill-seekers. Some of the rides feature heart-stopping vertical drops, high-speed twists, and spins that leave you breathless and exhilarated. The Joker’s coaster, in particular, is an unforgettable adrenaline rush — easily one of the best rides if you love pure thrills. It’s the kind of ride that makes you want to go back just for another round. Beyond the rides, the park has plenty of charm and souvenirs worth taking home. My wife picked up a beautiful charm bracelet featuring beloved characters, and it’s one of those keepsakes that captures the magic of the visit perfectly. For those planning a trip, the 5-day pass is highly recommended. It gives access to other attractions like Sea World and Wet’n’Wild, allowing you to take your time and enjoy multiple adventures. Overall, the experience is simply magical — a perfect mix of childhood nostalgia and high-octane fun. 🎢✨

It’s Movie World, what more can I say. Well… for those wishing to read on… it’s a brilliant place. To get my only major ‘knock’ out of the way, it’s the lines. They’re a pain in the …., especially when you have young kids waiting. But hey, it’s Movie World. Several rides were closed which was a shame so helpful tip - download the App before attending and it’ll tell you which rides are offline and what each rides wait time is. Very handy. We took our own food to save some $$$ however from what we saw it was reasonably priced. Sincehaving attending in previous years, the overall place does seem to have lost a little of its vibe. Not as many people / characters dressed up, some shops and displays closed, and the usually fantastic street parade was a little lacklustre compared to other times we’ve seen it. With that all said, overall, awesome day out!
Corrie B — Google review
We had a fantastic day at Movie World! The rides were exciting and so much fun absolutely loved DC roller coaster 🎢 . The Hollywood Stunt Driver show was an absolute highlight, full of energy and impressive action. The character parade added a nice touch to the experience too. The only downside was the limited vegan and vegetarian food options, which made it a bit hard to find suitable meals during the day. Hopefully, they’ll add more variety in the future. Overall, it’s a great day out filled with fun rides, shows, and entertainment!
Sanjula — Google review
Must visit if you are in Gold Coast. There are rides for every age. Driving school is my kids favourite. We were there during non-school holidays. Even that, the waiting times for the popular rides were averagely around 30mins. Can't imagine how it would be during the school holidays. Maybe it's worth getting the fast track pass at $121 to speed things up. But be aware, you can only use it ONCE per ride. At least you get to decide which ride you wanna spend time queueing up again for a second round. I don't think you can possibly finish trying all the rides in a day without the fast pass. It can get really sunny during the queueing up. If you don't wanna get sunburn or tanned, prepare some UV protection - UV parka etc. Wild West Falls Adventure Ride should be improved to have shelves for riders to keep their bulky belonging prior to the ride. We were required to carry everything along. I was so worried that my belongings would fly out from my handbag! The most thrilling ride is the DC Rivals. Seriously the best rollercoaster ride I've ever had! Green lantern is awesome too. We had a blast! Thanks for the fun!
Amber M — Google review
There’s something surreal about walking down a street and suddenly crossing paths with Superman, Marilyn Monroe, or Joker. It’s like stepping right into the movies, and it adds so much energy to the day. The characters aren’t just for kids—they make the whole park feel alive, and I’ll admit I couldn’t resist stopping for photos. Of course, the rides are every bit as unforgettable. The DC Rivals HyperCoaster is the crown jewel—tall, fast, and absolutely relentless. The first drop had my stomach in my throat, but by the time I got off I was grinning ear to ear. The Superman Escape and other thrill rides keep the adrenaline going, so you’ve always got something to look forward to between character encounters. Movie World is the rare kind of theme park that balances high-energy thrills with Hollywood magic. For me, it was the perfect mix—racing down roller coasters one minute, then running into Superman the next. If you’re after big rides and a bit of movie magic, this place delivers both in spades.
Rita M — Google review
This location offers an excellent visitor experience, featuring impressive production sets and exhilarating rides. The motor stunts are a particular highlight, providing an authentic portrayal of a scripted stunt narrative. While the overall experience was positive, it did not surpass Universal Studios Singapore.
Shubham N — Google review
Fantastic day out. Facilities and assistance for people with disabilities is excellent. Make sure to go to guest services for all the information. The parade was a bit disappointing. Needs more glitz, glamor and more excitement. It was very short. Overall, our family had a wonderful time.

Nice park, not too big, but definitely has some great rides like the Joker one. Unfortunately, almost half of the park was closed when we were there and the ticket was still full price. Anyway, great little park, and the new rides and theme is very nice!

Dinner theater
Australian Outback Spectacular is a captivating bush-themed dinner show set in a high-tech arena that offers an immersive experience into the heartland of Australia. The show follows the story of struggling farmers Reg and Marge, showcasing the challenges and resilience of outback life. Guests are treated to a three-course meal supporting local farmers while being entertained by horseback riding, cattle mustering, music, and impressive special effects.
The dinner performance was wonderful! Our family of eight thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Before the show started, there was live music and drinks available for purchase. Once the show began, we were served a three-course meal—the highlight for me was the warm apple pie, absolutely delicious! We also appreciated the free refills of wine and soft drinks throughout the night. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient, making the experience even better. We even got to keep the souvenir hat, which was a lovely touch!

We had the most wonderful time at the Outback Spectacular! The atmosphere is just amazing. The meal was incredible, and catering for gluten free I was still looked after and didn’t have to miss out. The performance was incredible. Everything is so well put together and I love that the show changes over time. Having been before many years ago, this was a completely different show. I highly recommend doing this!

What a fantastic evening we had!!! The delivery of meals was brilliant as was the food and the show was awesome!! Such great imagery and storyline. All the animals were really well trained and in good condition. We will definitely go again.

Buying ticket is advance is highly recommended as you get to pick your preferred seat. The dinner was so spectacular. Beyond my expectations especially the apple pie 🥧 😋. The show? It was fantastic. Would really love to see the Aboriginal community showcase in real life instead of on the huge screen. I get to learn outback Aussie communities and their lives as a farmer. My mother was a farmer back in my island. The struggle resonated with me in many ways. I wish a better life for our community globally

TLDR: Food was above average, show was decently entertaining, and service was excellent Food: Overall 8/10 The food had an entree, main, and dessert. The entree was a feta tart with chutney, which was paired well together. 8/10 The main had an option of steak and chicken and pumpkin green beans and mashed potatoes for sides. We chose steak. the steak was cooked medium well and tasted great. However it was relatively smaller than expected. 8/10 The dessert was an apple pie with some cream on the side, the apple pie was warm and paired well with the cream when put on top. The crust was a tad bit thick though. 8/10 There was free tea and coffee the end near the finale of the show. TOP RAIL PREMIUM->The was a 3-5 drink opportunity where a staff member would come buy asking what drink we would like, with many options ranging from ice chocolate in a popper to the iconic XXXX beer Experience/Show: Overall 6.7/10 (SPOILER WARNING) When you first enter you got to wear a hat with a read band for VIP and a blue for normal tickets. Before the show there many side attractions like dog photos horse photos and live country singing. The dog photos was great having your hand under a dogs hand when taking your photo with the dog being extremely well trained and friendly. The horse photos was similar with it being completely harmless and well trained. The singing was great with many Australian/country songs playing in the background. The show started of good introducing everyone and had amazing visuals with excellent animal appearances of dogs and horses. However it got slightly boring with some parts being unrelated to the story such as the race. Near the end it had informational themes about the droughts in Australia and had a beautiful conclusion. Service: The was excellent with easy entry just scanning our tickets with not very long lines for everything (Max 10 min) The staff was extremely kind and understanding not charging us for accidentally breaking a wine glass and speaking nicely throughout the whole experience. Overall/Additional tips: I would recommend coming to this place at least once for the authentic Australian experience and going for VIP is not necessary for is optional. However things can be bit pricy with photos and gift shops so being at least 150 additional dollars. Feel free to leave a reply! (Can’t promise I’ll reply though😅) Disclaimer For personal and Australian Outbacks reasons I will not be showing the dog photos and horse photos, and other parts of the experience. As some may be against their Terms and conditions as well as my own privacy.

We bought the top rail premium tickets. The package included a 3 course meal, photos, and beer spirits and wine. For entree we had a vegetable and feta quiche. The options for the main was chicken or steak. We all had steak which was absolutely devine. It was served with mash potatoes, roast pumpkin and steamed beans. The meal was lovely. The dessert was apple pie served with cream. The drinks service was really good offering more drinks a number of times. The show was really good. The sound clear and very loud. Young children would benefit from ear muffs. The lights were incredible! They lit up the arena during the play. The story line was really good. The acts and performance was really fun and they get the audience involved and even had a game! The car park was big with enough space for everyone. It was very easy to get a park near the outback spectacular. My son (6mo) was given a hat even though he didn't have a ticket (as he was under 2). There was a line for the toilets but it did move fast and people could move around as there was two openings between the toilets and hand basins. This is a fantastic activity for families of any age and ability !!!

Brilliant show! Surprisingly good food. The show was amazing, very talented people and animals, beautiful singing and showmanship! Also had true blue Australian humour 😂 so that was a massive positive! The food was better than expected and the free refills on show drinks was also a great plus! Also, got a hat to take home! Great night out and couldn’t recommend more!
Lillianna B — Google review
Make sure to book ahead of time. Get there early, as it will give you time to have a couple of drinks before the show. The line on entry moves quickly. First stop is the token souvenir photo and the cowboy / cowgirl hat. Then out to the shop to grab a souvenir or two to remember your evening. Onto the bar. Grab a drink and enjoy the music, even have a dance should you wish. Also you can grab a pic with a show horse and or dog. This is the perfect time to go to the toilet before the show starts. Then out into the arena. Entree is all ready when you get to your seats. Vegetable tart with pineapple chutney. Main is either eye fillet or chicken breast with veges. And dessert is an apple pie with cream. The eye fillet we found was the best part of the meal. The apple pie was a bit dry. Beer , wine and lemonade are served during the show. The wait staff are busy, in and out throughout the show. And a little distracting at times. The show was great. Lots of lights, colour and effects. The helicopter was awesome. The animals do an amazing job. A love story with a real understanding of the hardships the outback face. I’m sure you will enjoy it

Sea World is an oceanographic theme park that offers a variety of attractions for visitors of all ages. Guests can watch polar bears at Polar Bear Shores, observe tropical fish and sharks in the world's largest man-made shark lagoon, and even touch rays at Ray Reef. The park also features entertaining seal presentations and live dolphin shows.
This location seems to be an excellent choice for families, providing a range of attractions such as rides, seal and dolphin shows, stingray encounters, and numerous complimentary activities. Although certain experiences necessitate payment, the admission cost allows for an enjoyable visit even with the free offerings. For families, bringing your own beverages and snacks could potentially lead to significant savings. You need to go early for the car park It is highly recommended.

I had an amazing time with the kids, watching their faces light up as they saw dolphins perform for the first time. My kids were full of excitement exploring the penguin exhibit and learning about marine life in a fun, hands-on way. The kids were thrilled to interact so closely with the animals. The rides and shows kept everyone engaged, creating a perfect mix of adventure and education. It was a joyful and memorable day, filled with laughter, learning, and shared moments of wonder by the sea.

We had a really good time at Sea World! The park is clean, well maintained, and easy to get around. The seal and dolphin shows were definitely the highlight entertaining, informative, and beautifully done. It was lovely to see how well the animals are cared for. The only downside was the food options there were very limited vegan and vegetarian choices, which made it a bit tricky to find something suitable for lunch. Hopefully, they can expand their plant-based menu in the future. Overall, a great experience for families and anyone who enjoys marine life and fun shows!
Sanjula — Google review
Spent the day at SeaWorld recently, and enjoyed it. Liked all the shows, especially the dolphin one! Was grateful that they had a proper sit-down restaurant that served health food. My husband and I both had the bowl each. which was as delicious as it was nutritious 😋 We were disappointed with the water ski show though. Gone were the impressive multi-acrobatic moves. All we saw this time was a show between two rival gangs and some boring stunts. We also did the helicopter ride. The 10 minute deal is the best in my opinion. The pilot was very informative; he doubled up as the tour guide Overall SeaWorld was a great experience 😃

Had the best time at Sea World! Every ride was so much fun and well worth the wait. Loved the dolphin shows they were amazing! The place was clean, well-organized, and perfect for all ages. Truly one of the best theme parks I’ve been to. Highly recommend visiting if you’re on the Gold Coast!

Sea World is truly one of our favourite family destinations on the Gold Coast! We had an unforgettable day filled with fun, learning, and amazing marine life encounters. The dolphin and seal presentations were absolutely incredible, such talented animals and dedicated trainers! The park is beautifully maintained, clean, and easy to get around. There’s a great mix of attractions for both kids and adults — from the exciting rides to the relaxing lagoon areas. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone felt welcome and safe. It’s the perfect place to create lasting memories with the family. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

Love it there. So many things to try although some places are not open. Like Atlantis ride and Donatello ride. I have to say, baby Penguins are the cutest around haha. When you get to lunch watch out for Seagulls. Yes!.. theyll snatch your food in a instant There are sharks too, they did a wonderful job in conservation as well. Hate to say it but I got on Bikini bottom rides - Patrick the starfish, School bus because to me that is the safest ride. Have a peak at your theme park pass app they will tell you exactly the time for each performance. It does make you trip there memorable.

Broadwater Parklands is a sprawling park located just a short drive north of Surfers Paradise. It spans three kilometers along the Southport foreshore and offers various attractions for visitors of all ages. The marine-themed water play area is a highlight, featuring fountains, water jets, and artificial waterfalls that provide entertainment for toddlers as well as older children. Additionally, the park boasts picnic areas with BBQ grills, walking paths, and even a beach across the Gold Coast Seaway.
Beautiful place to be! Lovely beach with shallow waters perfect for wading. Always the Gold Coast Marathon weekend event area annually, and always a lovely area to bring the family. Really accessible by tram (Southport station), bus, and even ferry just on the jetty here! The Aquatic Centre is here too. Love the picturesque Broadwater Parklands!

Nice and quiet good place for the whole family. Plenty of things to do and see. Wheelchair friendly paths, and they have a liberty swing here as well. Well maintained area. Toilets are close by. Wonderful beaches as well. Plenty of parking space but it's paid parking. Nice and easy paths to walk on. Highly recommend going to have a look at 😊😊.

This is our family’s favourite park on the Gold Coast! Our kids absolutely love it! there’s always a great variety of activities to enjoy. The park is beautifully maintained, clean, and perfect for families, kids, or anyone looking to relax or stay active outdoors. I also love that my favourite cafe, Barrel Espresso, is right there, it makes every visit even better! Kudos to the Gold Coast Council for doing such an amazing job keeping the park safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.
Elaine B — Google review
Good place to take the kids, with plenty of parks, walking tracks, outdoor water splash areas and picnic areas. There's a range of other activities too, including the aqua park, rockpools and a few restaurants nearby. Some pleasant sea views all along the walk too, and a great place to stop. Parking can be very limited during peak times, however, so plan accordingly!
Kerbray — Google review
This park is definitely a paradise for kids who love playgrounds because you can literally name all kinds of playground equipments here including the rare ones I’ve never seen before. Moreover, there’s even a water park called Aqua Park but you need to buy a ticket for that, which isn’t free. Or you can just build sandcastles and play with water on the river beach. On the other hand, I saw a bunch of people having great picnics on the BBQ areas and simply on the grass. There are tiny lodges with benches where you can lay down and relax as if you’re in a sauna, and a large pier that has long benches with the most magnificent views and it’s also a ferry stop and great fishing spot. It has a decent number of pubic toilets in the park and if you are hungry, there’s a seafood restaurant and an espresso shop. The welcome sign near the front gate which is made of grass and flowers looks amazing and memorable. If you are taking the light rail, I suggest you disembark at Southport instead of Broadwater Parklands because there are much more shops and restaurants near Southport station. To top it off, the park is much bigger and more versatile than I imagined. It’s absolutely an excellent place for both adults and children to visit.

A lovely park with picnic tables, & children's playground areas with water features, handy to Australia Fair Shopping Centre in Southport, SE QLD. Public transport is nearby also. Beautiful family of black swans enjoying the park too! 😊

Broadwater Parklands is such a great place to spend the day. Super open, peaceful, and right by the water. There’s always space to walk, have a picnic, or just chill under the trees. It’s also perfect for kids — there’s a big playground area where they can run around and have fun. The views of the Broadwater are beautiful, especially in the late afternoon. Families, runners, kids on scooters — it’s got a little bit of everything. Clean, safe, and just a really nice vibe overall.

Shopping mall
Australia Fair Shopping Centre is a sprawling complex located in Southport, offering a wide range of familiar retailers, a cinema, professional services, and numerous dining options. The shopping center overlooks the picturesque Southport Broadwater and spans over 59,540 square meters across two levels. With over 200 specialty stores and supermarkets, visitors can enjoy air-conditioned comfort while exploring the latest trends in shopping and indulging in diverse dining experiences within the Food Court and various restaurants.
The parking lots are sufficient and even free up to 2 hours on Monday to Saturday and 5 hours on Sundays. This shopping centre has a long history but has been renovated and there are Kmart, Coles, Woolworths, JB Hi-Fi, pharmacies, opticians, and clothing stores etc. The food court isn’t too big but the eateries there are mostly at affordable prices and nice views out there. Furthermore, there are also some takeaways and cafes in the building.

The first problem after parking in parking area & leaving my family at Bouncing Pillow, was no sighnage for Entrance to Shopping Centre. As a Tourist I had to find a stranger to ask & told to enter the Centre via the Underground Parking. The Shopping Centre itself is excellent and well presented inside. My first visit & I did not see any signage for Lifts or wheelchair accessibility. I still believe it's worth the trouble to find the Shopping experience you need.

Parking is convenient, with free parking available for up to 2 hours from Monday to Saturday and up to 5 hours on Sundays. Although the shopping centre has been around for a long time, it has been modernised and now features popular retailers like Kmart, Coles, Woolworths, JB Hi-Fi, along with several pharmacies, eyewear shops, fashion outlets, and more. The food court is modest in size, but most of the dining options are reasonably priced and offer pleasant views. In addition, there are several takeaway spots and cozy cafes throughout the premises.

Australia Fair is such a convenient shopping centre! You can find everything here, from groceries to fashion and daily essentials. One of the highlights for me is definitely Daiso ✨ It’s so handy to pick up everyday items or Japanese goods, and I end up visiting almost every three days. There’s also K-mart, which is a favourite among locals. It offers affordable daily necessities, home goods, and even small furniture, making it an essential spot for everyday life. With its great location, Australia Fair truly makes daily living easier.

No wonder why nobody likes your shopping centre. This escalator has been down for months. Such a simple thing but so inconvenient. It’s turning into a slum more and more each day. Soon it will be a ghost town and it should be.
Josh D — Google review
It wasn’t a very big shopping centre like Pacific Fair, but variety of shops there. There are also plenty of choices at Food court. Personally I love the beverage of the Taiwanese tea house - Hechalou. They have plenty of options for the tea jelly, not just bubble/pearls. My favourite is Matcha jelly. You can also select the amount of ices and the degree of sugar sweetness.
Jessie C — Google review
I was quite disappointed with my experience at the shopping center, as it did not meet the standards typically expected from such venues. Unlike most shopping centers that feature a variety of popular stores and a well-maintained food court, this one fell short. The surrounding cafes offered subpar quality, and I encountered three instances of poor customer service, along with food that seemed hastily prepared. Additionally, the lack of proper amenities, such as adequate napkins, further detracted from the overall experience. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this shopping center. 🕊️🙌🕊️

Glass Dining & Lounge Bar, located in Main Beach's Marina Mirage precinct, offers a sophisticated and elegant dining experience with some of the Gold Coast's best waterfront views. The contemporary venue serves top-notch modern Australian cuisine, including fresh seafood, and boasts an extensive wine and cocktail list. With stunning marina views, a world-class fit-out, and award-winning cuisine, it epitomizes elegance and sophistication. The menu is adapted with the change of seasons by internationally renowned Executive Chefs.
Visited Glass Dining with my husband and infant son to celebrate our anniversary over the weekend and CANNOT rate it highly enough. Food and drinks were exceptional, the view was outstanding and the staff were absolutely amazing. They even surprised us with sparklers to congratulate us on our anniversary. Also extra points for having an alternate vegan/ vegetarian menu to accommodate the dietary requirements. We will certainly be looking for any excuse to come back.

The most impeccable customer service I’ve ever experienced. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Amazing chefs. This stunning restaurant was busy all night and it’s not surprising. We had a fabulous time. You have all got customer service, incredible food and an inviting place down to a fine art. Thank you!

My partner and i dined here last night and everything was amazing, the ambiance was gorgeous sitting on the deck, we even had a dolphin swim past! The food was incredible and the wait staff were fantastic and accommodated changes to our meals. We couldn't believe that we almost had the place to ourselves but will definitely return when we visit Gold Coast again! The phots don't do it justice.. Well, we made a booking to go back and despite making an outdoor booking online, when we arrive, we were told that there were no availabilities outside. This was incredibly disappointing after such a great experience initially… It's unlikely we will ever return there as this experience has ruined it for us..

I was celebrating my 10 year wedding anniversary with my husband and this place was perfect spot by the water and evening was clear, we were served by Sara Nerea, she took care of us and even suggested a perfect sweet cocktail for me, we had the bread and warm olives to start and then for mains we had to give the seafood tower a try, while we did our best to finish it we just couldn’t do it, we ended up getting the rest take away. While everything was 5 star rating, the seating option was a little disappointing as we were inside the restaurant we had a pole in the way of the water and boat views. I hope to come back soon to try some more of the menu and desserts.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. Our waiter Nerea was courteous and efficient, she made sure we were comfortable when the cool breeze came in, offered blankets or the heater. Was on time with menus and delivery of meals. Even asked if we would like to wait from our entrees to mains. The chefs menu is sensational, we had 3 starters two mains and desert, it was all perfect I’ve been to much more “extravagant” places and walked away underwhelmed. This place is definitely one of our Favourite places from Sydney to the GC. Thank you Glass For an amazing evening

Got to be one of the greatest restaurants in the Marina Mirage precinct. Fabulous food great atmosphere and really good wait staff. The steaks are legendary. I had the aged rib eye fillet. Yum.

We had a great time at Glass Dining & Lounge Bar last night. The food, service and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. We love coming here for special occasions and have never been disappointed.
Sue S — Google review
Food was pretty good and prices were reasonable. I booked an outdoor seaside table, but the shade stayed down the whole time, completely blocking the view. When I asked if they could pull it up, the staff just said no with no explanation. It wasn’t even raining and the restaurant next door had theirs open, which was a bit disappointing.

Restaurant
Il Barocco Restaurant, located within the Palazzo Versace Hotel, is a luxurious dining spot known for its opulent decor and international fine dining. The restaurant offers set menus and is particularly famous for its lavish seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. Guests can indulge in a wide array of fresh seafood including Moreton Bay bugs, crab claws, oysters, and sashimi while enjoying the picturesque poolside view.
A nice seafood buffet, and the desert bar is very impressive. The desert bar and seafood such as oyster, scallops, bugs and crab legs are always be refilled. if they could add more hot dishes, that would be perfect!

Christmas In July Great Food Grinchy Service ! We were warmly greeted by the doorman and shown to the restaurant by the friendly concierge. We were seated at a nicely presented table , the set menu was a pre-booked Christmas in July lunch. Our smiling Waitress introduced herself and said she would be looking after us, unfortunately this was where the good service ended! So I can only award 1 Star for Service prior to seating. We had to wait quite a while for our drinks and order to be placed, our assigned waitress seemed more interested in clearing empty tables and was oblivious even though the restaurant was not busy! We finally placed our orders with another waitress , who apologised but still it was a wait until the Champagne arrived. The entree soup was served from a jug by a younger waitress who seemed completely disengaged-no greeting-no smile and then she spilled some soup it was just a few drops on the tablecloth , but no apology or effort to rectify. Anyway I decided to let it go and just enjoy our lunch here. The main course was thankfully served by another waitress. The food itself was a highlight. Delicious, generous potions of sliced Wagyu beef, perfect crispy Yorkshire puddings, accompanied by flavoursome vegetables. Dessert was equally enjoyable. However the service continued to disappoint. We still couldn’t get the attention of our waitress, so we decided to leave and go and settle our bill. Another staff member unsmiling and no communication , in fact quite abrupt mannerisms, but ok maybe these staff are just all having a bad day. To top it the lady at the cash point handed us someone else’s bill. When I flagged it up as I appreciate it can happen though bearing in mind the restaurant was certainly not busy at this time, her reaction was to say nothing just print off the correct bill. So in summary, while the food was very good, the customer service was very disappointing. Our experience was appalling and left a lasting negative impression. Sadly despite the lovely surroundings and the beautiful music played by the pianist. It’s not a dining experience I would like to repeat. The lack of hospitality in this restaurant was lacking.

My husband and I chose to have dinner at the Coastal Carvery & Catch Buffet as we were staying at the Imperial Hotel plus the description of the buffet sounded very nice. However, unfortunately, we came away feeling quite disappointed. The seafood choices were very underwhelming. The sand crab was very dry and tasteless, seemed like it had been over cooked, frozen and thawed. Whilst the prawns looked nice, they too were tasteless. The oysters were very nice except they were not replenished once they were gone which was very early on in the evening. Fortunately, we did find some oysters Kilpatric which were also very tasty. The salad bar was average, not a lot of choice and the carvery nothing special. The cheese selection by 7:30 was also very limited as it too, was not being replenished. The dessert bar was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the service was very, very slow as was the service in the main lobby lounge where we had pre dinner drinks. Would we go back to Il Barocco? No, sorry. We have had prawn trawlers and fishing charter boats in the past, so we have a fair idea about quality when it comes to seafood. For the money, we felt that the value and the quality was not there. The variation in seafood options was very limited but maybe by the time we arrived, which was 7pm, most had been eaten and not replenished?

We dined here for the Melbourne Cup Function. The food was amazing, the service was excellent but unfortunately we all felt the ambience was a little not quite there. Most of the other hotel venues have table set up for groups but it seemed that most of the tables were for couples or 4 people - no real mixing and there as no best dressed or mc to bring the event together. At the end when they did the raffle it was hard to hear what they were saying because their microphone would only work one way and not to both sides of the restaurant area. I think next year maybe look at a function in one of the ballrooms and have entertainment or an MC - fashions etc and lucky door prizes etc. But on a brighter note we will be back for the buffet in the future - it was amazing and we all agreed

Melbourne Cup 2025 signature seafood buffet and beverage package. Great atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and polite. Service was wonderful, staff were always one step ahead with drinks and never had to ask for anything. The food was fantastic. Also had breakfast there which was fantastic. Such a wide range of foods. Something to suit everyone

Use to be one of the best place around. Buffet standards have dropped Significantly to an unacceptable level especially for a 5 start hotel. Barely any seafood range for their seafood buffet. They ran out of roast meat by 7pm. Salad selection was terrible. I have to cancel my work Christmas party that was organised for Il Barocco and finds an alternate resturant that is up to standard. I have has almost every Christmas party there. Very disappointing.

Service was below average. We were seated next to a noisy raffle draw, and asked to be seated somewhere quite. There were plenty of empty tables, and couldn't understand why they squeezed us next to the noisy raffle draw. We had to constantly ask for our drinks to be toped up, and the wine was not chilled. The food was good. We've had great service there before but on this occasion they completey messed it up.

What a lovely experience we have had the last few nights at this establishment. We have stayed in the hotel the last 3 nights and dinned in every night at the restaurant. Every meal has been perfect. From the Skirt steak to the raspberry dessert! The staff are so well trained and friendly. We meet the manager Holly on our last night and she was a pleasure. The very tall gentleman that served us the other nights was really lovely as well. Apologies as I have forgot his name. This place is well worth a visit even if you aren't staying in the hotel.

The market also serves hefty portions of hot chips. Known for its cult following among locals, Peters Fish Market prides itself on offering the freshest seafood available.
Always will be one of the best places to come for lunch whenever myself and the family come to the beach! Their food is a little pricey but well worth the money! They never disappoint and we will be back very soon. Staff are always really nice and friendly which tops of the service in the place. YUM!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a treat at Peter’s Fish Market! The fish bites were perfectly golden and crispy, while the fish pita was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Definitely having a refreshing Chinotto was the cherry on the cake, though my kids would’ve loved an Aranciata Rosa as well! And some pineapple fritters would’ve been a perfect finish ! Overall was an amazing experience! We will be back!😊

Love the place! It was a long wait on the grand final weekend, a lot of fish types you can choose and the Fish and chips are divine! Juicy and tender’ highly recommend! Tartare sauce has this light lemony flavor, so fresh so light!

Amazing sunset tonight behind Peter’s Fish Market. The fish & chips were delicious. No line-up inside the store & the staff were all friendly. There are public toilets & FREE parking onsite, with NO parking meters. Lots of tables & chairs to sit & eat, chat & take in the view of the water.

Come here very often and usually have such a good experience, but today something or someone was definitely off their game. Got the garlic butter scallops and they were so over cooked the shells were starting to blacken, so chewy didn’t even finish them. The sea peach was cooked beautifully but having about 6/8 bones in abit much. The lobster was abit half the size they usually are for $39. The gravy was cold and so glugy. Safe to say the best part about today’s food was the chips. Hope this isn’t a reflection on how further meals will go. Photo shown is some of the bones and how over done with scallops where, my partner ate them as we spent $113 and didn’t want to waste it.

Choose your own fresh fish to crumb or batter delicious, decent sized fillets, very popular place, worth every cent, didn't wait long, Calamari rings, crunchy and tender, sea scallops fat and juicy battered, hot chips are the best tasted crunchy and soft oil cooked in, very clean, small serve was pretty generous, everything was fresh and right in front of your eyes no frozen stuff in here, just loved it, I didn't wait very long 10 mins Max although it was very busy. Staff friendly and helpful, I found them very knowledgeable about all their items in store👍

Long line on a Sunday! Had the oysters and grilled fish + chips. Also bought some King shrimps too. Shrimps were the best among what we’ve ordered.
Elaine C — Google review
The food was awesome . The oysters were so fresh and I am regretting that I only had 6. I also had their fish and chips , how can the fish be so delicious , crispy but not oily. Just right. I am so thankful for the option of a smaller size. It was easier for me to try more things as a solo traveller. Friendly staff . By the way the view there was nice too, people visiting keep the place clean and enjoyable. This will be one of the reasons that I will return to Gold Coast again.
