Not too heavy, and you get that satisfying crack with every bite. This month’s special, the Coffee & Walnut Praline Swirl is defintiely for the coffee dessert lovers. It’s got layers of white coffee ganache crème pâtissière, walnut praline, a light mascarpone cream on top, dusted with cocoa powder and finished with candied walnuts and a chocolate-covered coffee bean. Textural, nutty, creamy and just super well thought out. They’ve got a pretty broad range of desserts and viennoiseries, and the quality across the board has always been excellent 🙂‍↕️

So happened so when we were there, it was after 3pm and they had the special of $3 per item then. The staff were rather friendly. Not soggy at all, has a solid and crisp structure without being dense or dry in the slightest since the inner parts of the pastry have a wonderful soft mouthfeel and butter flavour pervading all throughout. I think the filling is less impressive as some of the beef chunks are dry and could do with some more gravy. I do have high standards for meat pies though. 8/10 There seemed to be a ton of variety of things so I may be back in the future to try some more :3

It’s never on the rack, you have to ask for it from the counter as it seems to come from the fridge wrapped in cling wrap (I suspect to keep it from contaminants). It tastes as though it’s from a potato base so not too strong in the flavour which is how I like it so I can taste what I put on the bread. And not too sweet like a lot of the brands from the shelf can be!

The desserts and croissants looked amazing. When I finally was able to make it to the bakery the desserts looked beautiful but I was really disappointed at the croissants and pastries. They were stale and about the same quality as what you would get at bakers delight, maybe worse but better presented. The person who served me seemed disinterested and I felt like I was bothering him. All up a very disappointing experience. Go to Wild Cockatoo Bakery instead for croissants.

Whether it’s fresh baked bread, custard cake with fresh fruits, fresh croissants and amazing pastries. Today we walked down before driving back to Canberra. The first time i visited, the croissant i ordered was fresh, crisp, and delicious. My coffee was also quite decent. So i thought, well this is a safe place to return too.... little did i know, it was not :( I tried this bakery two more times, only to be disappointed each time. Both other times, my croissant was stale in a sense that it had no crispiness to it whatsoever. Both my coffees were made incorrectly. In the photo I attached, is a photo i took a few minutes after i received it because as i went to drink my supposed latte style drink, it was flat ( a flat white if you will). There was no foam, the drink was not filled, and my partners triple espresso came back to us as a double espresso. The baguette is crusty on the outside & soft inside & I couldnt help but to nibble on it straight after buying it - how French! The almond croissant had a lovely almond paste filling enclosed within a nice croissant. The fruit tarts look delectable & perfect for me as I don't like them too sweet. Flakey puff pastry base with a thin layer of custard and topped with seasonal fruits. I loved the tartness of the plum & apricot ones I chose. The quiches are also delicious - classic lorraine is cheesy & creamy tasting whilst the vegetarian option was sweeter with caramelised onions & roasted pumpkin as well as a pesto base topped with pinenuts. Would love to try the coconut & strawberry daiquoise & lemkn meringue next time. Very friendly service, not cheap & bakery has no seating but they also sell a small range of French cheeses & butter.
