We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and what a lovely absolute treat! Loved every moment and mouthful and you must try it at least once. We had a 6.15pm booking but we arrived earlier than we anticipated and were seated upon arrival about 25mins early. There is a small bar you could sit if needed though. While seated, we were initially offered the smaller menu as our waitress thought that's what we booked, but after we explained we were early she returned to confirm we were there for the full menu. Between us we had the 3 course menu and 6 cocktails which valued @ $600-650, but again it was well worth it for the occasion and the experience. The food was delicious! The staff were fantastic! The ambience and views, stunning! We had pea/asparagus and pork belly entree. Brisket and beef with 2x sides as part of the meal for mains. Mango and pav for dessert. Complimentary warm sourdough served before entree. Nothing more I can add, except that you need to give it a go if you haven't already.

We toured the Opera House & then per chance we looked up & noticed the ‘Aria’ restaurant with its glass facade overlooking the harbour & the iconic Harbour Bridge. The staff were simply a joy & made our lunch experience memorable We chose two courses each, the ‘aged duck’ & the ‘Chris Bolton wild caught fish’ with a side of royal blue mashed potato. For dessert we had ‘matcha coconut & citrus’ & ‘milk chocolate, honey & hazelnut.’ This truly delighted my taste buds. We paired the meal with a delicious Pino Gri. I can truly say that we haven’t tasted food this good for a very long time. So many tantalising flavours, I mean food that really had flavour, the fish actually had taste !…not drowned in sauce that hide the true taste was such a joy. Will we return ?…. We were welcomed with complimentary sparkling wine for the occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch, and chose the signature banquet menu. I came in expecting an average experience and was blown away by the complexity of the flavours and the uniqueness of the ingredients. Every dish felt like a celebration in itself. We came here as the steak was rated one of the best in the world but had the degustation menu instead (which sadly didn’t feature the steak) so we could try different dishes. We were taken on a delightful gastronomical journey with lots to love throughout the courses. The standouts were the opening cured tuna appetiser, the hand stretched grilled halloumi and of course the cod murray with crackling-like crispy skin. Some dishes, though interesting, I didn’t enjoy as much as others. The eggplant puree-like dish felt quite gluggy and the course immediately after of labneh with dipping leaves was too sharp. Clearly the two courses were thoughtfully positioned for contrast but the juxtaposition was too steep for my liking. Also, the portion size for the main felt too small for the price tag. Overall, a very enjoyable and unique experience worth checking out.

True to fine dining form, the staff were warm and attentive, and the setting was spotless — not a napkin out of place. It made our special family gathering feel that extra bit more special. I had no idea what to expect, and right from the first course, a consume, I was left with my mind blown. The entire meal serves as a testament to the power of fish, with each course progressively introducing you to a different part of the fish, culminating in the main courses finally serving you the regular cut of fish in all its glory. What stands this above other fine dining restaurants is it not only redefines conventional dishes, but it does so by redefining how fish can be used. We were so lucky to have been greeted by DANUTE, who basically saved not just our hotel experience from going wrong, but our whole holiday. Tucked away in the quiet streets of Paddington with phenomenal decor and service, we felt truly taken care of by the staff. The famous Morton bag bug pasta was a lot richer than expected but had me gobbling up the sauce regardless. Not pictured but the Paris mash was phenomenal and the beef cheeks reminded me of my childhood. We almost skipped on dessert but I’m so glad we didn’t because the dumplings were something else! Not an authentic Cantonese restaurant but something modified to cater for Non-Chinese eaters. The layout is more of a bistro with the bars used as dinning tables when seats are fully booked. It took us a bit of effort to find this restaurant on Bridge Lane. The lane is a one way alley way for automobiles other than pedestrians. There is even NO SIGN on the front door to indicate this is the place we are looking for (by Google Map). Me and my father was led by a waiter to the bar on the basement level, when I said to him it was hard to find it, I was surprised by his reply "Are you sure you are looking for Mr. Wong?" He and a few of his co-workers tended to judge us by our appearance, I am just on a T-shirt and a cargo short, no fancy dress code. I am a Chinese living in NZ and AU for more than 10 years, I would not recommend it to my Chinese friends, as the Hong Kong Style Beef Noodle (干炒牛河) was not only salty but so sweet!!! Very easy to take the ferry from Circle Quay. The pictures are a mishmash from different meals, hence labeled tasting menu portion or main portion size. When ordered as a main, the portions are nearly twice the size. I recommend that the table does the tasting menu; the menu is so diverse and it really is the best way to try a “little of everything”. The oysters with lime ceviche were bright and fresh. The chef really does blend tastes and textures well; buttery potatoes with a bright onion jam on the Beef Tenderloin for example. The Prawn Toast with sesame has the creamy shrimp that tastes like a little fritter, somehow rolled in sesame to give a great crunch, and topped with buttery, slightly briny caviar. My favorite of the entrees. A prior visit had the caviar atop a churro and the prawn toast is much preferred. The eel cream is amazing, I thought the shrimp slightly overcooked but I believe they may be poached and then held cold, but the eel makes up for it. My husband raved about his duck and ordered it the next visit as well. It is dry-aged and prepared perfectly. Very well done. Yes, the food is not particularly fast to come from the kitchen. BUT it is good food and it is ok to slow down and enjoy a meal. I appreciate that I don’t feel like the staff is trying to rush people to turn the tables quickly. The venue can be very noisy as people get boisterous when they are happy. I have to laugh at the two reviews stating that they got food poisoning. If you ever get food poisoning, call the health department and they will track back your prior 24-36 hours. It’s way more likely you got it from an ice machine at your casual lunch or your coffee bar breakfast touching the communal creamer containers than from a fine dining restaurant. The wine menu is also exceptional. They have sommeliers that are very friendly/approachable and are happy to “talk wine” without yammering on while your food gets cold. Good recommendations and a variety of price points. The bar also makes quality cocktails. Will definitely when we are back next year.

It is poorly named; only one clam item was on the menu (and a pasta, at that!) and not a chowder to be seen! It has extremely expensive prices, but the fantastic service to match. The only "bar" vibe about it though was its extremely loud background noise, it sounded like a cafeteria. I had the petit seafood tower, I was still hungry after but the mussels were to DIE for. The place does a great job with its sauces (it's only standout feature). My friend had the 500g lamb special, which only ended up having 200g of meat on it. Not only that, but it was burned on the outside, and the texture wasn't that great, nor was the gristle for an $85 piece (with no accompaniments, anything else is extra!). The food there is excellent and you leave satisfied, despite a high per person price. Half of our party cancelled last minute but the team were very good at understanding. Despite this, we had a fabulous lunch. For starters I had the prawn cocktail and tbh this was served so awkwardly - three big prawns on a bed of ice in a bowl. Was quite hard to eat but prawns were fresh and yum, sauce was ok. For mains I had the Denver steak (as did my colleague) which our server recommended. However it was verrrrry fatty and having a whole portion was too intense. As I live overseas it’s a must to dine at CB whenever my wife and I are in town. The team offer a wonderfully engaging experience; I’ve never seen the bottom of my glass nor had any question on the specials or wine complements not met swiftly and with exceptional attention to detail. They usually have several off-menu specials such as flathead and steaks in addition to their regular items such as the seafood tower which offers brilliantly fresh items. We had the burger wich is not on the menu. For the burger we had whole cooked and in beef fat deep fried potato’s, there were amazing. We had also Kingfish as a entree, the taste was beautiful, but a bit salty. The star of the dinner was the burger, honestly the reason why we went there. The meat was perfectly medium rare cooked and fell apart while eating. They have onion relish with the burger and that’s a thing I love on a proper burger. Just get the burger! The New York-style decor is classy and cool — it sets the tone as soon as you walk in. Service was great from start to finish — friendly, attentive, and on the ball without being overbearing. We ordered quite a few dishes to share: oysters metropole, crudo (a nice variety of fresh raw fish), hot collars (kingfish), spaghetti and clams, rib eye with anchovy butter, beef fat potatoes, and the spatchcock. Their chocolate cake was the best dessert- it had a brownie like base with chocolate fudge layer on-top; I found the mango sorbet interesting, not particularly a fan of the spicy/salty/sour sprinkles.

For $140 a head, I’d expect better than messing up orders, not providing plates and not fulfilling simple table requests. As someone that eats out regularly, I can easily say this has been the worst dining experience in Sydney. You would get better at a pub.

Chris welcomed us and took us up to our room. Our bed was huge and the white linen was thick and cool and fresh. The pillows were thick and fluffy and so was the doona. The toilet paper was 3 ply and the shampoo and conditioner actually was good for my hair! There were bathrobes and free snacks and drinks in the mini bar. We got a chefs taster as a welcome snack - just the beginning of the most delicately and deliciously constructed food we were to enjoy at the chefs table that night and for breakfast the next morning. We checked in with the wonderful Chris who was impeccable in his checking in procedure and welcoming us to the Hotel and the most beautifully appointed room. Our experience was good with a nice table overlooking Darling Harbor we found everything more than acceptable. We decided to select a number of dishes to share from the menu which we believed turned out to be a good decision. The food was of a high standard with the prawn toast, calamari and sashimi the outstanding dishes. Very nice service provided by Lara finished off an enjoyable lunchtime experience for us.

The set menu was ideal, simple, no decision making required, & perfectly timed for an evening out for a show at the Lyric Theatre. We were seated at a lovely table with a beautiful view of Crown Tower rising over the Barangaroo waterfront. A special mention goes to Chloe, who was warm, efficient, & genuinely delightful.
