Not sure what it'd be like for a group but for two people the vibe was good. Great soundtrack throughout the night. The tapas are well portioned. We had the fish fingers which were excellent; grilled cos, charred corn and manchego which was very nice; the entrana was not bad, pretty tasty (I wouldn't order again though); and they were gracious enough to give us one ricotta dumpling to try instead of a full serve - which we loved. The basque cheesecake was a great way to finish the night. We enjoyed how our waitstaff recommended wines to us rather than choosing from a list. There are some good non-alcoholic options too. As it was our honeymoon, she also gifted us a glass of yuzushu which was so kind, and the yuzushu was incredible.

Dishes were quite simple and generally cooked well. The Pork Belly had a nice crisp to it, different to many other western restaurants which usually have thicker sticky skin. This one though was slightly more fatty as well. The Patatas Bravas were soft, but would have been better if it was more crispy. Flavour wise, it was on point. The highly was the cheese and guava filled Empanadas. Nice sweetness and texture. Better than the chicken and beef. On the other end, the fried potatoes with iberico and mash, was a bit off (the mash felt like it was overmashed - weird texture)and the olives were too salty. Service was also a bit off. We wanted to order a dessert, but the menu never came. It was also difficult to get someone to assist us, after we did our initial order. The table I was placed on, the corner window frames were quite dusty as well (needed a good wipe). However, overall a nice and relaxing vibe and the manager was friendly. Gave it 4 stars more because of the effort. Hope to see more improvements in the future.

It wasn’t overly busy, which made the noise level perfect, lively but not overwhelming. The overall atmosphere was just fantastic. The space itself is beautiful, and the bar area is such a nice place to start the night. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar before heading to our table, and I really appreciated that we never felt rushed. We ended up staying for quite a long time because we tried several of their drinks, including a beautiful Riesling, a couple of cocktails, and some of their Spanish rums. For starters, we ordered the croquettes and the House Mató Cheese with wild honey. Both were genuinely excellent. The croquettes were so delicious that I actually wished we’d ordered more, small serving but packed with flavour. The Mató cheese was lovely too; I really enjoyed the honeycomb pairing, which added sweetness without overpowering it. For our main, we ordered the paella, and unfortunately this was the only disappointment of the night. The flavour and texture really missed the mark, and we ended up eating very little of it, despite how great it looks in the photo I took. It was a shame considering how great everything else had been. That said, the service throughout the whole evening was wonderful, attentive, friendly, and helpful. We actually stayed right until closing because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Overall, it’s a beautiful restaurant with fantastic ambience, great drinks, and amazing starters. Then we found out it was Mexican and decided to stay. The staff was friendly and attentive. We found the menu to be quite large with a decent amount of options, although we were surprised to see no soft shell taco available. The drinks were average but flavourful, I was hoping for better presentation with the cocktails. The food came quickly and looked amazing. The food was flavourful however the portions for one serving was just barely enough despite the fact it was a tapas. The tacos we got also didn't really match both in texture and flavour. Soft, chewy and crunchy don't really go together for fresh fish taco. The avocado took away from the kingfish flavour. Very disappointing. Atmosphere is nice. Probably wouldn't recommend simply because the price doesn't match the quantity or quality.

Tap beer is popular and has an amazing light lingering taste. Service is top notch, overall flavour and experience is amazing and flavour style is light. Three people meal portion and vibe of restaurant is great. Food comes quickly and music is great. Recommend all dishes above. If wanting another main dish, suggest either beef and pork meatballs or PX braised beef. Dessert recommendation would definitely be the chocolate terrine. There are so many other sections we did not get to try, if you really want to try a dish, go with your gut feeling! They don’t have a bad tasting dish! We came on a Monday so we hope that would help with the skewer and fish of the day selection. There were some very unique wines on the list which I didn't recognise but they have a little description underneath them on the menu that really helps in understanding what you are drinking. They have a white Pedro Ximenez (not sweet or fortified) by the glass, and it was so funky and unique we ended up ordering a bottle to take up to our hotel room.

The menu maintains it's spanish flavours but also has an asian infusion twist. There was many dishes ordered but my favourites were definitely the Ribs, Eggs Benny (both salmon and soft shell crab), Crispy Pork Belly and the Creme Prawn Carbonara! Besides the mains, Mojo's also offer a Tapas menu, filled with great snacks to share for the whole table. There's so much variety on the menu, there's something for everyone here at Mojo's! I have a huge sweet tooth so I can't fault any of the desserts. I must say the French Toast was a highlight for me, the flavours were amazing. The bread was soft yet still crunchy on the outside and it wasn't too sweet. The Fairy Flossom tree is an amazing dessert to take photos off. All dishes were beautifully presented and I will definitely be back not only for the food but the amazing service from Theresa and her team.

We started with two entrees – the gildas and the cod croquetas. The croquetas were a bit fishy and, worse, had fish bones in them – clearly not processed properly. The pippis were a bit too fishy for my liking and there wasn’t any nice flavours that stood out otherwise! The chorizo and steak were nice and had very tangy and the steak has a nice sauce. The popcorn dessert was nice, light and not too heavy but the popcorn was a bit stale.

All the dishes were sensational and had to pick a fav, but I have to give a special mention to the jamon and churro, I've never experienced a churro like that before! The octopus was gorgeous and the quail schnitzel (!!) was a true delight. Every dish was bursting with flavour and the portion sizes were enjoyable - we literally ate for the entire 2-hour seating and left feeling satisfied. Fab martini to start the night as well. It's an intimate restaurant good for date nights and gal pal nights, simply oozes charm and tucked away in a lovely section of Surry Hills with easy parking.

We did a little research and found a dinner menu at an amazing price at Bodega 1094, in the Tramsheds facility in Glebe. Tramsheds is a large dining facility in an industrial building, the former Rozelle tram building. One of the numerous restaurants is Bodega, 1904. This restaurant and wine store has been brought to us by the team at Porteno and Bodega. For $65, we received a glass of bubbly and 5 courses including dessert. For an extra $50 we could do the matching wines. The menu is predominately Latin American and Spanish inspired tapas and the menu arranged for New Years was pretty much everything we love to eat. Food is made using fresh produce from local suppliers and prepared in tapas style dishes. On New Year’s Eve, you were aslo able to do Ala Carte. We received a glass of NV Cruzat Premier Extra Brut champagne on arrival. The staff were kind enough to top us up with another as the previous dining timeslot was still being served. We appreciated this. The first dish were 2 Sydney rock oysters each with a Yuzu mignonette as well as a Crudo of scallop and finger lime. This went perfectly with the champagne. We very much enjoyed the butterflied wood grilled king prawn and smoky capsicum butter, served with NV Alma Negra Sparkling wine. We then tried a super soft steamed bun, with soft pork belly and a super crispy crackling, served with a tasty flavour of roasted sesame, wombok and salted peanut, served with the 2017 Amalaya Torrontes Riesling. The standout of the dinner was the incredibly delicious. It was the ricotta gnocchi, with zucchini flowers, chervil and a buttery sauce. We could have had a few dishes of this. This dish was paired with 2016 Alpamanta ‘Estate’ Chardonnay. The final main meal was a lovely Hanger steak with kohlrabi, xo. This meat was like a brisket and nice and smokey. Accompanied with a 2015 Tikal ‘Natural’ Malbec Syrah. To end of the meal was a refreshing strawberry granita atop a coconut sorbet. This was lovely. This came with the NV Cumbres Andinas Moscato, a very sweet drink to end on. We very much enjoyed all the food here and look forward to returning, especially for that gnocchi! We sat at the bar, just beside the little wine store for our dinner, but the restaurant does fit larger groups. The wine menu is predominately Spanish based and the Sommelier can assist you to match your dishes. You can also purchase a bottle or two to take home. Bodega 1904 also does a great lunch menu and brunch on the weekend. We thoroughly recommend a visit.

However there was nothing that indicated you were eating at a Basque Spanish restaurant. I grew up in Spain were Fideuá is a tradionatial dish, and I was excited to see it in the menu. The fideuá as I know it is a seafood dish which is similar to paella, but with really thin noodles instead of rice. When the fideuá came out my jaw dropped, it tasted like instant noodles with some truffle oil and no seafood (picture below). I still can't believe I paid 35$ for this dish.

A hidden gem that is definitely worth trying. We came here for a family celebration shortly after it opened and was very impressed. The venue itself is great for both family occasions or a romantic night out. We had the sharing plates and every piece food was excellent. The cauliflower dish, the zuchinni flowers, the pork with caramlized apple... incredible!! The staff were welcoming and the chef Michael was helpful in recommending some dishes. Michael puts so much thought and love into his dishes and the menu changes on a daily basis - more of a reason to go back! Just had a large group there, and everything was fantastic. We got a whole floor of the restaurant, the food was so good (but more on that) and the wait staff were impeccable. As a large group (8+) we were required to have the 3 course set for $65. I have done similar things at other places and rarely have they worked (mostly too little food), Ortiz however seems to be all over the requirements of a large hungry party. First the 5 starters (prosciutto, bread and goats cheese/fried Mussels/asparagus/parmesan churros and anchovy toasts) served to share was a massive hit, there was plenty of foodand everyone got enough to be highly excited for dinner and dessert. Oh and did I mention every starter was amazing - the prosciutto delicious salty ribbons on top of creamy goats cheese, miniature croquettes filled with smoky Mussels and the most heavenly asparagus topped with breadcrumbs and fried caperberries I'm salivating just thinking about those asparagus. Oh and the vegeterians of the table got a plate of Cacio E Pepe, butterery and peppery perfection. Next every member of the party got to choose their own main meal, I personally had the lamb served as both medium rare cutlets and slow cooked shoulder - I was floored by how succulent and exquisite everything on my plate was and all my neighbouring faces said the same thing. Now this is possibly the only thing that would make me drop them a half mark, there were no side vegetables/salads served with the main. As we were on a set menu sides weren't something mentioned, but would have been a nice touch - but then again possibly aren't fully necessary, but I would gladly pay another $5 per person for some dressed vegetables. But I digress. We finished with our choice of dessert. I had my personal favourite Creme Carmel, which has often times let me down (burnt or flavourless) but not here. The Ortiz Creme Carmel is a standout, silky and soft with just the right amount of firmness and the syrup doing all the best things. Again all the faces I saw we just as joyful as mine. Sadly the bill came, but we were happy and full and in the throes of planning another visit, so until then.
