First of all, we had booked for 7 pm but we had run out of things to do so we asked the staff if they could move us to 6 pm and they did.
I had the cheese soufflé to start with. I thoroughly recommend it.
For main courses, we both had one of their pies. I had the venison one. The pastry was delicious and so was the inside of the pie.
Desserts were very nice too.
If we return to Lincoln, we will make sure we visit this place again.

We visited last week whilst seeing some friends in Lincoln and receiving the suggestion despite not being a huge pie fan we decided to give it a go. The pies were packed with flavour and the pastry was perfect. I had the steak and ale and my partner had the venison, both cooked beautifully and full of tender meat.
Service was brilliant. Ari looked after us throughout and was friendly, professional and attentive without being over the top. It really made the experience.

Ate here at lunchtime and it was mostly brilliant. I had the steak in ale pie and my partner had the pulled pork pie. I chose the triple cooked chips with my pie but i cant tell you what theyre like as theyre skin on and i hate potato skins, but the pie was amazing. It was packed with tender steak.
Then i had the sticky toffee pudding and my partner had the cheesecake. My only criticism was the pudding was served on a plate with quite a runny custard. It looked pretty but it was a challenge to eat the custard without tilting the plate.
The staff were extremely friendly. The service was quick (food arrived much quicker than we expected) but maybe it was partly because we were ahead of the lunchtime rush.
We also took home a couple of sausage rolls which we've just eaten and will definately be going back for more of. Fairly priced too given the amount of sausage in the roll.

It’s worth the walk up or down Steep Hill to visit this tea and coffee shop. Really large range of teas and coffees. I popped in for organic coffee which they didn’t have but I know that most Ethiopian coffees are organic. In the end I purchased some Jamaican Blue Mountain (real stuff unlike the one sold by Stokes). Although the jar was half full of beans, they may not have been as fresh as I’d hope. But I risked buying 125g of Blue Mountain beans and the helpful staff member ground the beans for a filter. I also brought some Pu’erh, one of my favourite teas. There’s an excellent range of matches, tea and coffee paraphernalia and lively Chinese and Japanese cups and mugs. Really nice independent shop with knowledgeable staff.

I've been to and bought from this shop twice when visiting family. Each time, the service from the shop keeper has been wonderful, friendly and joyful to nerd out over tea science.
My last visit was on Monday and the shop keeper helped me to recreate one of my favourite herbal Twinings Blends that I find difficult to source. He checked the ingredients and roughly worked out the combination that would be closest. He offered me a sample of the blend to try before I buy (licorice root, spearmint and lemon oil) but I felt confident that he'd worked it out and bought it there and then anyway.
Hope you get to read this because it was perfect and it makes me so happy!! I absolutely will be buying again next time we visit.

I ordered the gift set 7 for £24 on the 1st of January and received it on the 4th. The cheese is absolutely delicious I love it can't get enough, the website is easy to use. The packaging is very professional and sophisticated. There is an option to leave a message with the gift set but my message was just printed on a piece of paper with the confirmation information which was a bit disappointing, it would be nice on a small piece of card to make it feel more special apart from excellent service.

Waited over a week for dispatch. The so called 24-48 hour took over 4 days due to being dispatched so close to the weekend which isn’t ideal for food without any ice packs. The first order I made a few months prior had ice packs, why didn’t this one? When it arrived, the box was open with 2 cheese missing. I emailed them about what happened and that I had items missing from order, the reply I got was “we can see your order was delivered today, we hope you enjoy” I am a very patient person when it comes to Christmas orders and I understand it is busy period but the service I’ve received is shocking. If and that’s a very big if, this is resolved I will remove my review but if this review is still standing then rest assured I’ve not received the lost cheese. In all honesty, the whole thing should be replaced. Who knows who’s had their hands in the box and being in dispatch for over 4 days without any cooling is not up to any standard expected. Appalling and will be finding somewhere else in future! Close the online store if you can’t keep up with Christmas orders, don’t just take orders and provide a less than half satisfactory experience.

As with so many others I think this company is awful. My order placed on 12 Dec as christmas gifts was promised within 48 hours. It was delivered on 22 Dec after being dispatched 5 days earlier with no ice packs. All contents were binned as there was no way I was going to risk food poisoning! On challenging the company, when they did communicate it was rude, argumentative and aggressive. They disputed my concerns and sent me 4 different tracking numbers to "prove delivery made". None of the photographs within the tracking numbers were of my order or even anywhere close to my address. I had purchased through a third party (Yumbles) who have been absolutely brilliant and have refunded my money. I will definitely use Yumbles again, I just hope they consider their supplier list in 2025 as Mouse House may want to destroy their own business but not fair if others are affected. My wife and I were sent a parcel on approx. 15th December. Assuming it was a Christmas gift we put it under the Christmas Tree. A few days later I suggested it might be a hamper, and it may have chilled food items in it. We opened it to find a box inside from The Mouse House.

Now, here they were admitting they have made a mistake. And suggesting the cheese 'should' be fine to eat.
I replied to state that 'should' is not acceptable and now that they have admitted a mistake would they consider replacing the cheese.
They said no. They explained that the address label has 'Mouse House Cheese' on it. which is true. But, it is an address block about 1cm tall and 2 cm wide at best. You have to squint to read it.
Now I have read the other reviews, which are equally scathing. Avoid.

Had an bad experience with this Company,so much so i feel compelled to bring it to your attention. Had a few items from this place today. No prices listed so I kind of expected it to be expensive. A total of 9 small chocolates I ordered. 3 small chocolate truffles 3 small capachino truffles and 3 small coffee chocolates. Was shocked when this came to £9.60! The Chocolates no different in size to what you yet in a a standard Thornton's selection and the price being what it was I expected luxurious quality. Unfortunately these were tasteless and a total waste of money. A cheap thorntons box from the supermarket taste better than these and I'm not fond of them either. I know businesses have to make money and the rent in that location is probably high but to sell something so lacking for such a high price is what reflects this review. Its just not acceptable to charge that price unless the taste and quality backs it up

The parking has been made really difficult, my son was asleep and my partner needed to pop into Superdrug for afew bits, not a problem or so I thought as we used to do this regularly. I am a blue badge holder and often park up and pay then sit in the car whilst my family or partner go about their or our business. After leaving the space I had parked in and driving around the whole block to find the location ID I finally found it, on the payment machine in tiny writing right at the bottom of the signage next to the machine, every other sign was simply a warning to adhere to the rules. A very unhanded move by Excel Parking in my opinion to try and catch people out with ANPR and charge you for overstaying the specified time limit without paying. We will go to the city centre and use in my opinion, more straight forward options in future.

The store is a treasure trove of beautiful items, so much so my friends always want to go when they come to visit!
What also sets this place apart, though, is Josie and her team. They're not just friendly; they bring a level of enthusiasm and helpfulness that makes every visit a delight.
It's really is one of my favourite shops in the city, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for that special something – be it for a loved one or a treat for themselves. Just make sure you've had payday as trust me you'll want to spend money!

An eclectic mix of antiques from not so old books to furniture, china, beautiful jewelry including pocket watches, rings and earrings. Not only did they break their promise of a replacement, but they also showed a complete lack of professionalism, integrity, and basic customer care.
