The Tao Terraces seemed a little interesting, first its Pan Asian, and second it was close by and they had a wonderful weekday lunch buffet priced reasonably. We booked our table and walked straight through to the restaurant. The decor was authentic pan Asian, with a traditional big bright red door welcoming us inside the restaurant, you get to see some interesting lanterns, pagodas, meditating Buddha's and other Asian artefacts We were one of the first customers to walk in just about before 1 PM, and after the customary welcome, we got seated and told our hostess our choices from the Buffet Menu. The interesting thing about the buffet here at The Tao Terraces is that they don't have the spread already laid out. All the mains were served with a hearty portion of Exotic Vegetable Fried Rice and Soya Garlic Chilli Noodles. I did stuff myself with the wonderful spread of the wide menu, and the Slow cooked Mongolian chicken and the Ginger Fish came out as clear winners. These two along with the Malaysian Peanang Curry, took the decent fried rice and noodles to indecent levels of deliciousness. After a heavy lunch, we did not want to move forward to desserts, however a quick bite portion of a variety of desserts tempted us in a platter. The date roll, darsan and the brownie were lovely, and the ice cream though was little icy, but equally delicious. The fresh fruits helped us bring closure to our wonderful buffet Quick Summary - Truly Asian decor, slightly slow but prompt service, decent food and an even decent price, overall an excellent buffet with a few delightful surprises, if you are in CBD and up for a quick asian lunch The Tao Terraces is your place of choice.
