This is a famous breakfast place in Anchorage. You can call in and get your name on the waiting list which is a great idea. Went there on a Sunday and it was really crowded. We literally waited almost 2 hours for a table.! Weather for breakfast, but really ate lunch. Went there for the crab Benedict and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely amazing. Huge portions, especially the hashbrowns. Dee was our server and she was amazing and incredibly cute. The hostess staff were incredibly patient, considering the stress of how crowded it was and how many people were waiting. They will call or text you when your name comes up if you leave your phone number.

I was recommended this place while in town. I have found the food in Anchorage to be hit or miss… This was a hit. I came in during a breakfast rush on a Friday. The wait was long, so I scoped out the counter area and when a couple people left, I grabbed a seat. The service was fast. They made me a delicious latte that was served quickly as I mulled over my breakfast choices. I chose the biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and a side of bacon. Even the orange they used as a garnish was delicious! The biscuits and gravy were a perfect texture and had a good amount of biscuit to gravy. The hashbrowns and bacon were both excellent. I had left leftovers and heated them up for lunch later in the day and the biscuits were still great!

Very popular at breakfast time. We did not have to wait for a table, but it got busy quick. The food was delicious. Service was great. The atmosphere was fun and quirky.

Such a fun vibe! The staff here is incredible and super friendly. The food is top notch! If you are in Anchorage and looking for a breakfast/brunch spot.....make time to come. Get on the wait list or definately have time....we were here a couple of times during our week in Anchorage and saw up to 45-ish min of wait and other times just sat right down. We had coffees from here a few times and breakfast that was fresh and so tasty. The stuffed French toast with berries...I nearly licked the plate...we also got the egg Benny with a bonus stack that was just yummy Yummy Yummy! Every bite was tasty!

Snow City Café absolutely lives up to its reputation as Anchorage’s #1 brunch spot! I stopped in for breakfast and quickly realized why the place was packed so reservations are definitely the way to go. I sat at the counter and had the pleasure of being served by Deenju, who was fantastic in helping with selections (though, let’s be honest, when it comes to sticky buns, how much encouragement does one really need?). I tried the half-and-half Benedict, one classic and one with smoked salmon, and while both were delicious, the smoked salmon Benedict was hands-down my favorite. The sticky bun was a must, rich and gooey, and worth every bite. The hardest part of the morning was simply deciding what to order, because the entire menu looked incredible. The energy inside was upbeat, the service top-notch, and the food outstanding. If you’re in Anchorage, this place is a can’t-miss. I’d say it was love at first bite and the start of a beautiful friendship.

Great food, great Mimosas, and great atmosphere. Mariah was our favorite! ALWAYS smiling and so friendly and professional. She's an employee every company would dream to have. Take care of her- she's a keeper! Be prepared to wait. What many people I think didn't realize is when the bar opens up you can sit there first come - first served. We were on the list to wait at least an hour but as soon as the bar opened up we sat right down. We also got their delicious coffee while we waited as they also have a coffee bar in the waiting area. So far, the best place we've found for breakfast in Anchorage. I'm told during the summer there's a line around the block to get in so we got lucky coming in late September!

Food is absolutely delicious. It’s a popular breakfast place in town, and very busy. Would not recommend if you are looking for quick service. Got the polar bear dish with French toast and Canadian maple bacon.

After living in Anchorage for over 10 years, I finally tried Spenard Roadhouse on 27 June. I am kicking myself in the @$$ for not trying it out sooner. The staff were great and the food was amazing. We had calamari and beet carpaccio for appetizers and halibut & fries, shrimp & grits, salmon burger, regular burger, and strawberry shortcake to top off the meal. Everyone loved their food and we all will be visiting again soon.

Family friendly, looks small on the outside, but seems much bigger inside. And there are several places to sit. We went for dinner and were able to sit at the bar without a wait. They had great drink specials and food was out of this world!! SOO DELICIOUS!! By far my favorite restaurant on our trip to AK. The menu had a little bit of everything. I wished we were staying another night to eat here again.

Absolutely wonderful service! I forgot the name of our server, but she came to every table in her section to ensure they had water. Very kind people and wonderful family friendly atmosphere as always! My sister and me had the Mac & Cheese and delicious Jambalaya bowl!

I cannot eat at an establishment that has restrooms which smell worse than any gas station or hardware store or truck stop I have ever visited. The men’s room smells of 5 year old urine. If your cleaner is incapable of sanitizing the restrooms I cannot fathom what the kitchen looks like. If you could smell this review it would stank like a mix of a combo of a Poop cruise/Concert Porta poty/poorly cared for Animal shelter. Do better Spenard Roadhouse what happened to sanitary standards? I read your response. Very unlikely you haven’t heard the restrooms are disgusting, as a matter of fact multiple women I was with said the ladies room was also very bad. So not sure how you’re missing the message. Maybe walk in there some time and check for yourself. I wish you the best, but cleanliness counts.

The fried chicken was phenomenal. It was fried to perfection for a southern guy. The seasoning was good also. I liked the smashed garlic potatoes.

Good food. Quick service. Good selection of non alcoholic drinks.

Middle Way Cafe is a modern restaurant in that you irder your food at the register and then seat yourself. We ate there foe breakfast and if you ordered drip coffee or water, you serve yourself. When you are finished with your meal, you clean your own table by clearing your dishes. We had a group of 9 and the average report for the food was a 4 out of 5. I got the western omelet and it came with home fries and toast and it was $19.95 prior to tax. Overall, I would recommend and eat there again.

MUST try their GF DF carrot cake cupcakes. Amazing. Wait time On food and coffee will Be unreasonably long usually. Sometimes the food is super amazing and sometimes you’ll have to ask them to remake it. We’ve been coming here for 18 years and still love it even when it can be bad sometimes. In anchorage this is my favorite cafe as they have amazing options and the best hot beverages. However: the gluten free cookies and cupcakes and other treats they have are absolutely the best in town. They have different GF treats whenever we go. I love their selection. If only other places had such amazing gf treats. Not sure about their food options. Their matcha latte and coffee are just bomb. Service is either amazing and lovely or some atitude depending on who you get. We usually the the lovely people!

I am sick to my stomach and really hate to write these kind of reviews. I got a breakfast burrito from here this morning and as i was eating it something just tasted REALLY off and spoiled. I looked inside the burrito and immediately realized why as I pulled out a bunch of extremely old & spoiled avocados from my burrito (that I paid almost $22 for) very sad as I am so grossed out, they had to of known they put these avocados in my food as they were making it.

So many gluten free options! There were lots of gluten free baked goods. I tried the gf banana bread which was super tasty. They also had gf chocolate chip cookies, carrot cake, cupcakes, lemon bars, and strawberry jam bar. I had the tofu stack for breakfast (gf and vegan) which was very good. Would definitely come back!

Omg this place is everything! I was traveling in Anchorage for two weeks and ended up coming here at least 4 or 5 times — that’s how good it is. We mostly came for breakfast and lunch, and it quickly became a staple for us during our stay. As a vegetarian, I was so happy with how many options there were — not only plenty of choices, but everything felt fresh, healthy, and made with care. The food was consistently delicious every single time. The vibe of the café is also just perfect: cozy, cute, and modern without being pretentious. It’s the kind of place where you feel good hanging out for a while. The staff was always welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. Honestly, I could not recommend Middle Way Café enough if you’re in Anchorage — whether you’re looking for a great meal, healthy options, or just a place to relax, this is the spot.

I ordered the wrong dish and didn't realize until it came that it was inedible for my diet. Daniel came to my table, showed me the ingredient list and helped me pick out a dish that worked for me. The Baja bowl hit the spot! Great service and food. Thank you!

Middle away Cafe is fantastic. In terms of quality and quantity, you get what you pay for and more! In my experience, the food has always been better in-house than to-go order. I can’t say enough about the quality of the food ingredients and the pleasant feeling it leaves on the stomach post gorge. Enjoy!

This place serves coffee and biscuit-centric food, see the name. They also have soda by the can and bottled water. Located on the vack lower level of a strip mall-ish city block, they can be a bit difficult to find from the main touristy area, but thankfully, there was. Small sign on the front of the building directing us around back. There is inside seating and picnic benches out under the overhang if you'd like some fresh air. Decent view of a pay parking lot and the water to the north. The food was hot and good, I recommend the biscuits and gravy.

The biscuits here were delicious. I had the La Bamba, which had green chiles and jalapenos, and was just the right level of spiciness balanced out with the sausage gravy. The location is a bit weird; it’s on the lower level of an old mall building and the interior stairways are blocked off, so you have to walk around to the loading dock area off of 3rd Street to find the main entrance. Seating is dispersed in the old mall hallways and on outdoor picnic tables by the loading dock. However it is well worth hunting down to enjoy the delicious biscuit meals! This place was very crowded and popular, but the staff were friendly and efficient, and I thought gave terrific service!

First time here and it's a hole in the wall kind of place. The address on Google says 4th, but signs tell you to walk outside down the stairs to backside where they take orders. But leaving went up elevator and door on the 4th Ave was open, so going in can use elevator, walk past the tables to where the café is set up. They've used old hallway space and set up tables. So that's the environment. I got Benny and the Jets, and hubby got heartbreaker. When they came it looked like... That's it. But we couldn't finish either one, they were very tasty and filling. So if you're hungry this is good comfort food

Oh my gosh, this little establishment was absolutely fantabulous. We were going to our car in a parking lot after doing a little shopping on Main Street. There was a small strip of buildings adjacent to the parking lot and all we could see was the word biscuit… we had been talking about getting a good biscuit as soon as we arrived to Anchorage well this place is A++. The service was excellent. The décor was so inviting friendly and colorful. The staff was soooooo sweet and accommodating!! We loved every part of this BISCUIT CLUB… and did I mention… the BISCUITS…. awesome !!!!! my only disappointment was I did not get a T-shirt because there were none left in my size.☹️ but that just let me know for sure this place is great!!!

Had the Loco motion (they're take on a Hawaiian locomoco) while it's definitely not the Hawaiian comfort dish it was absolutely delicious! I'll be back for more!!! No photos because it tastes far better than it looks 🤣

Biscuit Club is a total gem! The wait was long, but 100% worth it. The biscuit concoctions were so good — hot, fluffy perfection. Super cute little café with cozy vibes and fun energy. If you’re in Anchorage, don’t skip it… just be ready to wait (and drool while you do).

We finally made it to Bear Tooth Theatrepub for breakfast, and wow—what an experience! I had the lemon blueberry pancakes and they were absolutely AMAZING—fluffy, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tart. Joe went for the biscuits and gravy, and they were just as delicious—hearty, savory, and packed with flavor. We both ordered coffee, and the staff went above and beyond by adding caramel syrup and whipped cream on top—a little extra touch that made it feel special. The service was warm, friendly, and fast, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Highly recommend this spot for a great breakfast (or brunch!) in Anchorage. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

I was pleasantly surprised how great the food was here. I'm visiting from Seattle and I thought it might be a little bit difficult to find great food in Anchorage because the price of food would be high. I had the pork pozole, the kale Caesar and a coconut flan. They were all great! And the service from Andrea was fantastic. The price was very reasonable

This is a very popular spot in Anchorage. They told us it was a 45 min wait Sunday night, so we went back on Monday. Very good food! I highly recommend the Mango Habanero Chicken Bowl and Blueberry Serrano Wings. Service was good.

It’s pretty good. Highly recommend if your visiting or have somebody visiting. The better food is on the theatrepub side but the fancy food is on the grill side. Had a burger, it was pretty good. There has definitely been a change in the past few years, as the overall vibe feels very different. Overall, it feels more cookie cutter and less of the “Alaskan experience” it was before. I would say it’s less friendly to locals and more of a normal restaurant. Theater side is still pretty good though. I would give 3 1/2 stars if I could.

My fiance and I had the rosemary burger and the bahn mi burger, along with an appetizer, a dessert and two drinks each, for eighty dollars. I think that was very reasonable!! The quality was amazing and the staff was very friendly

Had to check it out since I visited Moose tooth. Sat right away at the bar. Server/bartender was kind and quick with service and giving great recommendations. The food was brought out in a timely fashion and the fries were amazing and the Monte Cristo was delicious. I recommend.

Really enjoyed our visit. Staff was attentive, food was good except for their tortillas that go stiff and cold within seconds. We enjoyed their fish tacos and asked for spicy salsa. They brought us a house made green and red salsa; both really good!

Atmosphere – 3 stars The bakeshop has a cozy, rustic vibe but feels a bit cramped, especially when it’s busy—which seems to be most of the time. There are a few tables available, but I found the seating uncomfortable and the cleanliness lacking. There were noticeable crumbs on both the floor and tables, which took away from the overall experience. Service – 3 stars It’s a walk-up counter style setup, and while the staff was polite and moved fairly efficiently, there wasn’t much in terms of personal engagement. I asked if they had white milk, and they looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. After a bit of confusion, they finally figured out what I meant and told me I could get milk from the nearby coffee stand. Not rude, just a little unpolished. Food – 4 stars I got a ham and cheese sandwich that was pretty good—the bread was especially fresh. I also tried a chocolate chip cookie, which was really good. I added a blueberry crème cupcake to the mix—it was tasty, but a little hard to eat since it was chilled and the frosting was firm, almost brittle, and broke apart. Overall, the quality of the baked goods was solid, but the pricing felt a bit steep for what you get. Not sure if I’d go out of my way to return.

Lovely place with very good baked goods. Very good bread, sandwiches, cupcakes, cakes, chowders, you name it. We enjoy everything, too bad we’re leaving town today…. The sausage and pepper focaccias are great, the breakfast sandwiches are incredible. The pecan and currant bread has a solid balance of sweet and nutty that works perfectly toasted with butter. Fire Island Bakery has a strong presence the moment you step inside. The space is clean, welcoming, and filled with the smell of fresh bread and pastries coming straight out of the ovens. One of the best parts is being able to see the bakers working in the background. Watching the process gives the place a sense of authenticity and you know the food is being made with care. On the sweeter side, the display case is filled with cupcakes and tarts. They are rich without being over the top and each one feels like it has been crafted with intention. Fire Island Bakery delivers consistency and quality across the board. Whether you want something quick with your morning coffee or you are stocking up on bread for the week, it is a spot that wont disappoint.

Great spot for breakfast, but the full breakfast menu is only available Wednesday through Sunday. On other days, they serve pastries and sandwiches. We tried the salmon sandwich, and it was delicious.

I had a lovely visit and everything I bought tasted amazing. Well made baked goods. There was a line, but it moved fast and employees asked for your order down the line to get you serviced faster by check out. Friendly and attentive staff. It’s also connected to a plant store called That Feeling Co. I had helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff to help me find what I needed.

Really AMAZING bakery and staff! I had heard about this place for so long, but never made it downtown! Really great discovery! Wonderful array of food, pastries, fresh baked breads, soups and sandwiches. Their cakes are amazing, but with this silly economy the larger sized ones are wayyyyy overpriced. Definitely recommend going during the week days! Weekends are swamped!!!

We came to this restaurant on a Sunday morning and it was packed! We ended up sitting at the bar. The food was delicious and very filling but it did take quite a while for it to come out which was a disappointing. The staff were super friendly and attentive. I would recommend making a reservation before coming here if you do not want a long wait!

Spot on as always🔥 I never would order a porkchop out until I had it here first. It changed my perspective and I will now order them out at resturants of this caliber. Its been wonderful every time. The mocktails are very well done as well.

Visiting my friend and popped in for breakfast. We went to the coffee first. We ordered a dirty chai and mocha. Because the coffee is freshly made expect a little wait time. The dirt chai was amazing. We then went over to dine. We were sat immediately. The server was very nice and accommodating. We ordered the death by bacon sandwich, Benedict with crab plus scallop cake and a single order of the sourdough pancake. The sourdough pancake was seriously unique. I loved that it was crepe like. You can taste a hint of sourdough. The death by bacon was extremely flavorful. The Benedict was amazing and the brioche bread it as served on was super soft. You won’t go wrong ordering any of these items.

Get on the Yelp waitlist before heading over to save time. The staff here are friendly and fast. We ordered the avocado toast with egg and bacon, plus the two eggs any style with a side of the pouch. For drinks, we tried the Kobuk Samovar tea and an espresso. The tea was a bit too heavy on cinnamon and sugar for my taste, but overall it was a good experience.

Stopped here for dessert, and it was scrumptious! There were some creative items on the menu, and our tea came in aesthetic little glass bulbs. Service was informative, professional, and extremely friendly. The whole restaurant is very cute--modern but cozy.

We had a delightful breakfast at South. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Our water came to the table often to make sure we had everything we needed. All the food we had was delicious, especially the Pavlova. It’s to die for.

My friend took me to South Restaurant + Coffeehouse for brunch for the first time, and I loved it! The place is super cute and modern, the service was friendly and fast, and the potatoes from my eggs benedict were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The omelets have one slice of salty American cheese and made with maybe two eggs so it's paper thin. The filings were sad and barely warm, toast was over toasted but kudos to not being over buttered. No idea how this place has more than 4 stars. The waitress seemed like she had better places to be

I ordered the chicken fried steak with toast and over easy eggs. I received a cut of bone dry chicken fried steak with NO GRAVY, over hard eggs, and missing toast. The steak was so tough to cut and to chew that I couldn’t eat more than a couple bites. Hashbrowns were seared on top but soggy everywhere else as well. The woman on the phone was nice though. However I have never received such poor quality food & for a price tag of almost $20…. I would seriously recommend they start some quality control.

Jackie's Place Restaurant offers a cozy ambiance with friendly and warm service from the waitress, as always. The menu boasts a good variety of options to choose from, catering to diverse tastes. While most of the food was enjoyable, the steak was a little bit of a letdown, being overcooked and overly seasoned, which overshadowed the natural flavors of the meat. However, the eggs were expertly prepared and the spam was a delightful savory treat that satisfied my palate. Overall, Jackie's Place Restaurant is a decent cafe with a bustling crowd. Despite some misses in the food department, it's worth a try if you're in the area and looking for a comfortable spot to dine.

In my trip to Anchorage, this was the first place of dining that I genuinely felt like I was home. The waitresses and back of house alike are super friendly and charismatic. Coming at the perfect time and asking the right questions. The atmosphere has a lot of personality and just the way they executed things was smart and made it feel more personable. Hell even bringing a whole loaf of toasted white bread all perfectly buttered for a table of 6 instead of all of us getting a slice or two on each plate was a pleasant surprise for me. The food was fantastic. We all got omelettes and just packed with toppings that were cooked with a love you only get from home. This will be my regular breakfast every time I'm back here.

The waitress was nice, but that's the only good thing about this place. Took 45 minutes to get our food, only to have cold undercooked hashbrowns, the biscuits were dry and the gravy bland. My pancake was good, but it's really hard to mess that up. I ended up just eating my eggs and pancake. Not good. As we left the busser apologized to us as we were walking out, we didn't even complain to anyone, meaning they over heard us and still didn't offer to replace anything.

As a diner, this is the place is the for breakfast. Went there for just that! What really stick out for me was the service! What an A+!!! My coffee cup for example, was always full or topped off! Rare to find such coffee service now a days but thank you Jackie’s place for staying true to old ways of service! The atmosphere has just been updated it seems and has an at home feel! Classy place! The food was what you would hope for breakfast. It was good! The menu selection for breakfast is IMPRESSIVE! It is very well done, easy to read, and neat. Came in to get a piece of dessert thinking it would help my migraine. Waitress was beyond rude. She first threw my piece of cake at the table where I was sitting, and then when I close my eyes because my head was excruciating and pounding, she yells as loud as she can, honey you have to stay awake so that the entire restaurant can hear

The security guard at the Museum of Natural History gave us a recommendation. So we arrived at your restaurant on the recommendation of Kelvin. From the time we were seated until the time we left the restaurant we were treated in nothing less than Grand fashion. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with offering recommendations on appetizers as well as entrees. Her recommendations were spot on. The calamari for an appetizer. The smoked Cherry single batch Bourbon drink as well as a blueberry mojito. They were mixed to perfection. The halibut cheeks as well as the black cod were cooked to perfection and definitely to our liking. The sides were absolutely delicious. Easily one of our better meals we had during our two-week stay in Alaska. We certainly appreciate the recommendation, we certainly appreciate the attentiveness of our server and the quality of the food served. We will definitely return when an Anchorage again

This was probably our best meal in Anchorage. We couldn’t get a reservation in the main room so we ate in the bar. It was a great option as we had a great view and a great server - Lacey! Don’t let the unpretentious front fool you. The Smoke&Bourbon drink was cool and delicious, and the beer and wine were great. The calamari was tasty albeit a bit heavy on the breading. Excellent crab stuffed halibut which was big enough to split! Really enjoyed the short walk to get here from downtown. This is not one to miss. VictorB

Amazing restaurant in Anchorage. If you can’t get a reservation, you can sit open seating in the bar which we did. A lot of seating in the bar, including overlooking the water. Get there early if you want those seats. Service in the bar area was excellent. The sourdough bread that came to the table was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful and the Caesar salad was very good. A lot of lemon in the Caesar dressing, but it really turned out well. Got the halibut cheeks and I’ve never had halibut this good. You could tell it was incredibly fresh and the texture was amazing as it was prepared perfectly.

Came here on a week day for early dinner, it was packed, so family and I had to take the Saloon area. While it was cozy, it was terribly noisy and busy. Food was ok, nothing special really, (the calamari was chewy), definitely overpriced. The drinks however were great, could’ve had more if the bar had more staff (again terribly busy), and our server was nice. Not worth the visit in my opinion, solid 3 stars.

Excellent place on the first floor of three-story office building. Weight staff and service was top-notch from the drink never running empty to the warm bread served before the meal.. beautiful views facing the harbor. There was four of us and we each ordered four different meals and the seafood was perfectly cooked.. I would highly recommend this place, but it is pricey.

I have visited several of the longstanding restaurants in downtown Anchorage, and this establishment distinguishes itself as a venue of genuine fine cuisine. The dishes were refined, flavorful, and thoughtfully composed, reflecting the expertise of a skilled chef. Service was exemplary, with our server, Andrew, providing attentive and professional care throughout the evening. The only shortcoming was the crème brûlée, which did not meet the same high standard as the rest of the meal. However, as it was graciously offered on a complimentary basis, this minor imperfection did not detract from the overall experience. The restaurant also offers a remarkable view, which enhanced the ambiance considerably. In sum, I was thoroughly pleased with the experience and would confidently recommend this restaurant as one of the premier dining options in downtown Anchorage!

6 of us were on a trip and looked online for a nice seafood restaurant. This place came promising, we tried booking. Not available for the same day. Still we went there for a dinner on a Wednesday. Place was full so we got our place near the bar. I will say I was not impressed as the online Google rating was. The table looked clean but needed a second touch. When ordering, they said we just ran out of that fish. Balance orders came. However, we had to ask and wait for the plates and cutlery. As to the calamari, it was more breadcrumbs and fried. On a positive note they helped us share food. All the issues maybe because of overwhelming busyness. Not a bad place to try.

Small, no-frills family operation that actually feels like family when you’re there. Open kitchen where you can watch everything happen. Owner caught the fish that morning and battered it right in front of me. Hand-cut fries, both fried to perfection. Great spot for people watching while you eat. Authentic and unpretentious.

What a great diner! Really good food in a traditional American diner setting. My wife had the chicken fried steak and the gravy was so good! I had the halibut sandwich - very solid. The fries are obviously had cut and were plentiful and perfect. If I lived in Anchorage, I’d eat here often.

I got the reindeer hash and my husband got the country fried steak. Both were huge portions and were delicious!! We went back another day for lunch and got the Halibut sandwich (I definitely recommend ).Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Anchorage!

EXCELLENT FOOD! Cooked fresh and very good. Had breakfast and the portions were right and solid. Very Busy so plan on an early stop or to wait a little bit. But it was worth the wait. Costs were no worse than any in the area. Alaska is high on food.

Awesome food! We had the halibut sandwich and halibut tacos w/ a cup of the reindeer soup. Everything was delicious! Large portions. Service was great too! Highly recommend.

This is a must visit in Anchorage. History, great food & nice people. Quick service. Absolutely love this place. If you can get the smoked salmon chowder it's your lucky day!

Man this place is your classic American hole in the wall, and the halibut sammich is guy fieri quality. The kind of thing where you agree to split one with the wife but then wish you hadn't. Location is great. It's right in the middle of downtown, so there's tons of stuff to do. The hotel itself is dated. Rooms are average. The big problem is it's RIGHT on the busiest street in Anchorage, so traffic noise is hell. Also they apparently already had the AC shut down for winter. My room was uncomfortably warm. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it below 75 degrees. Unless you MUST be downtown, I'd recommend looking elsewhere

My wife stayed here 20 years ago and recommended my father and I to stay while we were in Anchorage. From the time we arrived it was nothing but incredible and everyone was kind and helpful. The room was wonderful and we had a view of the ocean! If you are on the fence about whether to stay here or not, I can 100% vouch for them and will stay here anytime I am in Anchorage! A Stay Filled with Kindness and Grace. I recently stayed at this hotel with my dear friend of over thirty years, who is in the advanced stages of muscular dystrophy. This trip was meant to be a small but meaningful getaway — a chance for us to rest and share time together — and the staff made it truly special. From check-in to checkout, everyone was friendly and professional, but Ross, the Front Desk Manager, stood out in an extraordinary way. He arranged for fresh roses to be waiting in our room and extended a late checkout so my friend could rest comfortably before our departure. Those small gestures turned an ordinary hotel stay into something deeply memorable. I’ve stayed here several times over the years, but this visit touched me most. The compassion and quiet care shown reminded me that real hospitality is about seeing people and meeting them where they are. Heartfelt thanks to Ross and the entire team — you created a memory we will both treasure.

I didn't take pictures this time, unfortunately. Spacious,clean rooms amd bathrooms. Walking distance to just about everything Good elevators. Lots of history. Shopping and, bars and restaurants connected without having to go outside if weather bad. Staff cleanly dressed and very helpful with bags and questions.

Great hotel from a bygone era. It's very classy - with nice dark woods, and feels like you're stepping back in time, while at the same time not feeling old/stale. The gym is awesome - the men's sauna and steam room was a great place to recharge. The only downside is that there's no self-parking, but there are options nearby including a parking garage.

The check-in was smooth and easy. The desk clerks were super helpful and pleasant. The only odd thing we had happen was a maid trying to come into our room at 8AM while we're were all asleep. She said she was going to check the room. This was weird to us. It was so early for her to be trying to check rooms. Other than that, it was an awesome place to stay and decorated beautifully! Beds were SUPER comfortable and rooms were a great size with everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is older, but clean. We were on a cruise/land tour and this was our first night. Our room was clean and everything worked. The location is good, its right in the middle of everything so nothing is too far of a walk. Liquor store right across the street if you need to get something for a cruise carry on. Our only complaint is we asked for some more tea/coffee for our room and were told it would be there shortly, and it never showed up. There is a nice fitness area, pool and dry/wet sauna with lockers at the very bottom level that is included with your stay.

This was honestly the best meal I've had in a while. Our server was incredibly welcoming. Our meals were amazing. The Mama Mia! might be the winner. I appreciated the extensive kids menu. The Birds and the Trees was a great healthy option. Not sure how they cooked those carrots, but they were to die for!

Edit: changing my review. Previously had posted some frustration about showing up to a private dinner. However, we made it down the following weekend and were sat immediately. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I had the ribeye which was excellent. My daughter had the kids chicken, rice and broccoli dish and my wife had the bipimbop. Everything was great and all the food we saw coming out to other tables looked fantastic as well. Worth the 2nd attempt for sure and would love to come again. Prices were fair as well.

Great local spot. Ordered the halibut cheeks lettuce wraps🥰. Salmon bowl, and sausage pasta. Food was great, service was pretty slow, the gentleman next to us sent back his food and ordered something else and it took over 20 min to get his next dish.

Amazing dinner and great service from Ian! This gets crowded so enjoy a drink on the patio, or shop at the gift shop next door. When you get seated have the tagliatelle with Ragu and the Alaska burger! Both are excellent! The desert options are fantastic so leave room for one! VictorB

This by far was my favorite meal while in Anchorage. Perfectly cooked, fresh and creative. I was in a group and everyone loved their entrees and apps. The Mama Mia is best bolognese I’ve had anywhere and the salmon is just perfect.

i’m so glad I decided to look up restaurants on the way home from Seward instead of getting back to Amsterdam where everything was probably already closed. I called ahead to this restaurant because we were only gonna have 40 minutes before they close. They said come on in. Salmon was fantastic, also got yummy bimbap bowl and a cider on tap. Insanely beautiful views! Great customer service. Great music playlist for this “hip” millennial. 🤗

My friends and I arrived at Jack Spray after it was closed but the gentleman working allowed us in and let us order rose! It was such a nice gesture and created a fun memory for my friends as I as we were visiting Alaska on vacation! The rose was great and the atmosphere made it all the more magical. It was the perfect stop for a quick drink before exploring more of Girdwood. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Girdwood area!

The atmosphere of this diner is very warm and welcoming! The menu is very creative, mimics a newspaper, and has plenty of interesting nuggets of information to keep you entertained. However, I should warn you, the portion sizes are huge! Overall, the food was pretty good, though the omelet was slightly on the salty side. This diner is pretty top notch.

I feel as though the breakfast might be good but the meatloaf from the evening menu was lackluster at best. I didn't get sick but you know when you eat something and your body tells you that it was a mistake, well that's what I experienced here. Kriner's Diner is nothing special and can easily be skipped. I would rather eat at a chain diner like Denny's than Kriner's. Please skip this restaurant, save your money for something that at least tastes better if not makes you feel good.

July 15th, 2025 Used to enjoy eating here. Good time the meal was bland. Mashed potatoes and gravy had sausage in it, but that isn't mentioned on the menu. I don't eat pork. They made another Mashed potatoes and gravy for me but it tasted terrible. That's my last time eating there.

First meal in Alaska did not disappoint! Reindeer sausage, eggs, pancakes and bacon. Coffee was great too!

The place doesn't look like much from the outside, we almost didn't go in because it looked like it might not be open. However, we were very happy we did because the food inside was excellent. We ordered breakfast food for lunch and everything was very good and very large servings. The service was also very good and it looks much better inside. We have already told several people about what a great experience we had here. We will be back.

The food is good and it's pretty reasonably priced. The wait staff is nice also. I loved the little newspaper they give you. It's very entertaining and I wish I could've kept it.

This is probably the best breakfast deal in the entire state. Our skillet orders came with a side of toast or pancakes. We choose pancakes, expecting 1 pancake. When our order arrived there was a short stack of pancakes on the side. I asked if it was a mistake and/or, if this was meant to be shared between us. "Oh no," exclaimed our server, " you both get a short stack. Why do you think so many people keep coming back!? They are good pancakes!" She wasn't wrong. I'm a bit of a pancake snob and I have to say one bite from this short stack and I was instantly transported back to my childhood and flooded with memories of sitting at Mama's (my grandmother's) table with my siblings and cousins excited to spend a weekend morning in her presence and with one another. I will definitely come back to this spot!

Went to Kava with my family for breakfast. The reindeer sausage was flavorful and didn’t taste overly processed, which was a pleasant surprise. The waffle and French toast were a bit on the dry side, but the pancakes were a standout...fluffy and delicious. We also appreciated that they offered sugar-free syrup. Service was ok, not great, but not bad either. Overall, and ok spot for a family breakfast.

This place is amazeballs. This is my third trip visiting my friend and each time I come I come here. This time around I ordered the deluxe loco moco and my friend ordered the biscuits with gravy. Mine came with a side of pancakes. Let me just say…the deluxe loco moco was so freaking good. The portion size is incredible. My friend and I probably could have just ate that together. It’s very flavorful but simple dish. You will not go wrong ordering any of the loco mocos. The PANCAKES!! You get 3 pancakes!!! They were heavenly. I hate I couldn’t finish them all. My friends enjoyed her biscuits with gravy as well. Lastly I ordered the mango cake to go and OMG…don’t pass it up. Super light and refreshing. 10/10 would recommend again and again

Mahalo to Kava’s which has a Hawaiian twist to breakfast. The menu had a plentiful list of choices to choose from. I ordered the Reindeer Sausage Breakfast Platter. It was delectable. They fried the Hash the way I like it. Extra Crispy. The eggs complimented the flavors of the sausage quite perfectly. We had a party of 20 and they were able to accommodate quite effortlessly. They also serve lunch and dinner. So whether you’re an early bird or looking for a pleasant meal for lunch or dinner coast by Kava’s and enjoy an establishment with Hawaiian style meals that entertains your tastebuds.

If ever in Anchorage, AK, stop by Kava's Pancake house for breakfast. This place is Polynesian owned. The food and service was great. A variety of food to choose from and, more importantly, coffee ☕️. Don't forget the Beautiful view as you leave.

First and only time visiting this establishment. The food was ok. That is the best past. Now for the rest: coffee was bitter and undrinkable. The place is rundown and dirty. The bathroom is gross with a toilet that hardly flushed. The service, what service? Waited and waited for anyone to greet us after being seated. Finally brought us coffee, but forgot about the creamer until we asked for it again when the food finally came. The server never came to check on us and at the end we had to ask for a check after waiting for her to notice we had been done for quite some time. I would give this place zero stars. Check out Southside Grill for breakfast. Skip this place. PS my husband says if you show up in your military uniform you get better service.

This place was an easy win for us! Right off the main road, it has plenty of parking with a stunning view across the street of the Chugach Mountains! The prices seemed steep until we got our almost overflowing plates. Wow! I took home half my chorizo fried, the amount of which I would have had to pay $20 for anywhere else. The pancakes are a knock-out win. So buttery and delicious. Giving 4 stars for atmosphere because one employee was loudly airing out some personal issues and it was slightly distracting for us. But truly would eat here every day if I was a local!!

A must visit. Fox News is on. The bartender was the best. She made me feel welcome and was just a gem! Order breakfast- it is the way to go. All other guests were locals so their conversation was so fun to listen to. Highly recommend for a true old school Alaskan experience. I know they voted for the idiot in power and I still ate there- bringing the true diversity this place needed. The only way we can change is to talk. And that is what I did here. Great place!

I really really wanted to love this place. But ultimately it’s meh. Let’s start with pros. The menu does have a lot of options allowing picky eaters to find their groove. The staff was very kind and the decor was nice to look at especially while waiting. I did Ike that they had a nice sized waiting area especially with it being cold. The food was not bad and the coffeee was good!! No the cons… the building was not in the best shape some areas looked as though it was falling apart. The food was very bland with not much flavor at all. It was very very similar to ihop actually. The burger was the best thing we had.

What a breakfast! The cool Alaska theme with history throughout is really cool, and the people working there are impressively nice. Our server was on point and knew the menu cold. The food came out fast, and it was all very, VERY good. 5 people were no problem for her to seat, serve, and maintain. I really regret not coming here sooner.

Quick, friendly service. Food came out hot. I got the special with 2 eggs, bacon, and French toast. It was all really good. The atmosphere is great.

I ordered an omelet what I got was an overcooked plop of eggs dumped on a bunch of ham. The potatoes were flavorless. It's like they boiled them put them in a skillet for a minute with no seasoning. This was very disappointing.

Stopped in for breakfast and was immediately impressed with the entire experience. The decor, the staff, the food, the congeniality of the other patrons…all amazing. Our kids are already asking to stop back in on our way back to the airport!

Interesting little spot we visited where the breakfast is all day long and rated well! Spent lunch there and had the reindeer sausage breakfast and the lunch special - corned beef. The food was good, nothing to complain about and as you would expect. The service was good - knowledgeable staff that know a lot of the regulars! The atmosphere is extremely old school kind of like a western saloon/tavern. There is a dining area and a small bar area. Prices were reasonable. There is plenty of parking and public transit outside.

The rolls everyone raves about are delicious and massive, but they are not really cinnamon rolls. They resemble a Euro-style egg/yeast bread with some raisins scattered in. The icing is light, lemony even, but not thick or oozy. Even the menu board refers to a Sweet Roll or a bun with butter. We came in thinking we were getting cinnamon rolls, surprise! Nope. But worth trying with a hot beverage. The rest of the menu that we didn’t get to try looks really good, prices decent. Loud, boisterous, energetic place. Servers working hard.

Fantastic breakfast selection!! Most delicious sweet roll ever--like a cinnamon roll but with a few raisins, sliced almonds and a sweet glaze . Super ! And free drop coffee for life if you buy their ceramic mug. Definitely check out this place! I tried to update the hours. They are currently open 8-2 Wed thru Sun

Great spot for breakfast. Their cinnamon rolls are amazing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It does open at 7am on the weekend and 8am on the weekdays.

Place looks cute and has good rating but food was extremely sub par. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was the smallest driest sandwich I’ve ever had. 2 pieces of bacon, one egg, and one piece of cheese on a burnt piece of sourdough bread for 16 bucks. Would’ve rather ate gas station sushi for breakfast. Other options looked more appealing there but I wouldn’t recommend eating here

Probably one of the better veggie grilled cheeses ive had. Good coffee too. Recommend!

I love this place and will continue to support it but I want to point out a few disappointments that (when you have time) to address. #1 - every time I have ordered sourdough pancakes they've been absolutely the most unique ever. Not last Sunday -- they were not very sour tasting and not as fluffy and stretchy as I have always had since 1978 when Werner watched over everything. I made a point to tell a worker about it and a manager heard me and explained that sourdough is temperamental - sometimes stronger than other batches.(I have never found this before) but OK I'll accept that and just hope for a better batch next time. #2 We purchased a loaf of their bread and found that it seemed to have changed recipes or something. It was NOT as airy, yeasty, bubbly as I recall which has always set it apart from anything else locally produced. I do hope that you will read this review and take note. Basically what you would expect for a diner. Nice style clean quintessential diner feel. All day breakfast served until 10 at night and they have shakes and adult beverages as well. Our breakfast burrito was great, on par with many breakfast burritos I've had at Mexican restaurants. I was happily surprised. The sauce was ok and they had Tabasco and other hot sauces at the table. The burger was solid. Better than some of the other places I've tried in Anchorage already. I would get it again. My only gripe is that it is a little pricey especially the malts I found to be a little too expensive but it was certainly good. I would have preferred more shake and less whipped cream but hey. I would leave a 4 star but they were fast efficient and clean and food was cooked great so only issue is with price. Maybe they could consider a happy hour for the Malts and shakes.

Had a great time, the staff was very nice and the atmosphere is very groovy! The food was amazing and the best part is that it was actually very affordable too! Over all really good value, very delicious, and a good time!

My food is delicious. Started with a cup of clam chowder, house made. It really hit with the white pepper added. Monte Christo, my vote best in the state. Doubled with the house made jam made by the owner, a perfect blend of(you’ll just have to find out for yourself) made to perfection. Have not ate here in over decade but this place is good again. Better than good.

I'm a tourist visiting a local here & I can see it being the local favorite but a must-stop for anyone on the road. From the moment you pull up, the retro architecture is a nostalgic movie classic look. Literally right off the side of the road - for tight schedule. Expect quick fast & hardly options. Think classic diner staples done right, from fluffy pancakes to juicy burgers. And of course, no diner experience is complete w/o the sweet stuff. Their choices are classics as well... The malts & shakes are about as old fashioned as you can get; absolute perfection – thick & creamy (save room)!

A strategically place in Anchorage. We were looking for a quick place to eat before heading to the airport for a long trip back to Houston. Dood was good, recipes were great. A variety of american dishes. Place was well decorated like 70's dine in. People and staff very friendly deapite previous comments.

We got her about 7:30am. It was busy so we new there would be a wait. Once the food came out at 8:10am it was cold and the eggs were over done. I don't mind waiting but to wait and then it comes out overcooked and cold is not acceptable.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast this morning before we headed out on our road trip. It was our first time here. I was very pleased with everything!!! Our server, Samantha, was a hoot! She had a great sense of humor, quick on her toes, extremely helpful, and just an all around outstanding waitress. The food was ridiculously quick but so tasty. I highly recommend Sami's. This won't be our last time there. I don't have photos because I was too busy enjoying the food and service.

Egg-to-ham ratio is a bit off. Too much ham, too little eggs. Ordered an extra avocado add-on for $2.5 but didn’t get much (don’t remember any taste of avocado after finishing the breakfast).

I can not say anything but great things about Midnight Sun Cafe. We, like other visitors, had first tried a different popular breakfast spot but which had hour+ long wait time. And for us, we did not want to wait that long. So we popped into this cafe. Its no frills serving good food, and good coffee. Service was really attentive. And sometimes you make a new friend. We met a lady that was on her way to exercise the YMCA. She shared some stories with us about living in Anchorage.

Stopped in before a hike to grab a quick bite. It was very busy and there seemed to be some training with new staff. We ordered sausage and egg bagel sandwiches. We were asked to pick out our bagels. We ordered a drink as well. We asked for the items to-go and planned on eating in the truck before our hike. It took quite awhile to receive the sandwiches, I walked up to the counter to make sure our order didn't get looked over. About 5 minutes later we recieved our sandwiches, they were not wrapped to-go, not an issue, counter staff offered to wrap them. We did not receive the Bagels I picked out, wrong kind of cheese and the bagels were slightly burnt. About an hour into our hike we both had some tummy issues, assuming it was the sandwiches. We may wait until seasonal staff is trained and try to go earlier to avoid crowds.

The two ladies that were working were very nice. Answered any questions that I or the other people in my party had. I opted for the ham and Brie Panini which was really good. For your side you can opt for chips or carrot sticks or half and half. A nice little option when someone wouldn't prefer something besides chips. Would recommend.

A nice little Cafe in the city of Anchorage. The food was really good and the coffee was good to warm up with after riding in the 40° weather for an hour. If you want to park outside during the day, you may need to use a parking meter, but that is no fault of the Cafe. I'll come back some time.

I work in the downtown area and frequently eat out for breakfast and lunch. I have been a loyal patron to Midnight Sun for many years, today that officially ends. From poor management, inconsistent quality and service over years I think it is time for me to throw in the towel. At this point I truly don't believe they are even making an effort, they just cash in on the fact that they're one of the only 'grab and go' cafes downtown. Good luck getting anything you order with consistent quality, and heaven forbid you need it in a timely manner. What's even crazier is that it doesn't matter whether or not you order online or call it. It is absolutely appalling and I will not be giving them another dime of my money.

Service is big deal for me it was seat yourself, everyone was friendly and seemed happy to be here. That's nice to see. Only reason not 5 star for food was gravy needs little more flavor. Otherwise it was delicious Chicken fried steak was huge and I didn't even get close to half. It was made from scratch. Side biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was so light and fluffy, wish I knew how to make these. Hash browns are just the way I like crunchy on outside. Eggs were perfect Eggs Benedict were also delicious, seems like the muffin was homemade also nice and light. EVERY tray that came out was HUGE next time we will share a dish and no coffee first maybe we'll finish it.

There is a place on 76th and Old Seward, it’s Harley’s Old Thyme Cafe!! I love breakfast here! Been here several times and this time leaving a good review as needed!!! Quick, great, & friendly service! Comfortable seating and the area is well kept! Great job team! The food! Always outside of this world good!! Today I had fried steak fingers and my buddy had chicken fried steak. Both great portions and had us licking our lips!! They have several hot sauce options which I love! I am a Spanish guy!! Then the coffee mugs are a favorite. Large and in charge! They keep it full too. Good for a coffee addict like me! Come seek this place out and you will become a regular as well!

Quite an unexpectedly pleasant experience. Wasn't sure at first but the food spoke volumes. Absolutely delicious. Mom has claimed this her favorite place to eat steak. I've never had such a juicy well done steak! I prefer mine medium rare and mom always gets well done. The chef knows how to treat steak with love!

A little restraint doing big things... their food is amazing and their service is nothing to shake a stick at with a smaller footprint there is a more homey feel and warm atmosphere that you just can't replicate in larger locations.

Good spot for breakfast. I recommend going for the more flavorful and unique breakfast options rather than a traditional eggs, bacon and pancakes. They don't use real butter for the pancakes and the margarine is kinda bland. Bacon is okay - nothing special. My husband got the country fried pork, which was great. My daughter got the chorizo scrambled eggs and those were great-super flavorful. Just stay away from the more boring standard breakfasts.

I ordered the country bumpkin with fried pork loin and my wife ordered the sourdough pancakes -- and she asked if pecans could be added, which they were happy to do. I rarely order anything called "country fried..." anything because all too often they are bland. But these fried pork loins were excellent. The sourdough pancakes were delicious with the good hint of sourdough goodness without being overpowered. I was disappointed by how long it took our order to come out -- several tables around us received their food before us and the staff said it was because their orders were easier. This is probably true -- but still -- the wait was too excessive. I guess they didn't have the fryer hot yet or the cook accidentally skipped our order until reminded. Very nice and accommodating staff though, so they still get 4 stars on service.

Another great find in old fashion cooking, breakfast or lunch you can't go wrong with this place. Big servings of food for a great price the staff is friendly and very helpful on what to eat when you can't decide.

Came in on Father’s Day weekend the staff was very friendly and quick the cooks were fast and consistent our food was perfect. They stayed organized and were super friendly. Would visit again!

This place fills up fast. A no frills breakfast experience. Reindeer sausage is an option. The cinnamon rolls are as big as your face and so delicious. They aren't made on site but from a local bakery. We came here three times during our Alaska trip, and I know we will wake up when we get home and wish we could go to Judy's for breakfast. Also cash only. There is an ATM inside to allow you to pull out cash.

What wonderful way to start the day! Judy’s is the diner’s diner. It doesn’t look like much on the outside but from my experience it’s usually these places that have the best, most comforting food. The atmosphere is typical. It’s very homey, warm, and inviting. The restaurant is clean and smells of coffee, eggs, and sausage. It’s exactly what you want in a diner. The staff is above and beyond friendly and welcoming. I ate with a local who frequents Judy’s often and the interactions felt like they were old friends and I immediately had the same feeling. The menu is expansive and offers everything you’d expect from a diner but with local ingredients like reindeer sausage. Per the recommendation of our local friend we all got the special, a reindeer sausage, cheese, and mushroom omelette. Here’s a quick synopsis of specials. These are usually items that try to use excess ingredients in a way to got rid of them in a clever way.any times, they’re mediocre. Judy’s is not that. While that may be the case, it certainly didn’t seem like it. So let’s dig in to the special. These photos are very deceiving. Like many places the food doesn’t look very spiced but let me tell you all the flavor is there. The hashed browns were tender in the center with the perfect crunch. I judge food based on what I need to add to them and these hashed browns needed nothing. Anything you add is just to add the flavor to your liking. The same goes for the omelette. While there was a lack of pepper, that’s just personal preference. The egg alone tastes great and each individual ingredient enhanced the flavors of the others. The egg was fluffy but firm, the mushrooms were soft and didn’t water down the plate. This was my first experience with reindeer sausage and it was mouth watering. All in all, the meal came in a large portion that will leave you filled and satisfied. The sourdough toast was a good side that came well buttered. The coffee wasn’t typical diner coffee however. Judy’s puts effort into each of their cups. It’s great for those who love black coffee or who like creamer. The staff as mentioned before was super friendly and always checked in to make sure we had enough coffee. Were they TOO attentive? Perhaps. However they didn’t linger long enough for us to stop our conversation dead in its tracks. I’m giving Judy’s 4 stars because the next time I’m in Anchorage I will be visiting again to try out other menu items. If you’re in Anchorage for any amount of time this is a great place to start your day.

Everyone was so friendly and the service was very good! Our coffee cups and water cups were filled constantly, and the food came out very quickly, even with a smaller cooking staff from what I saw, I applaud their hard work! The food was decently priced. Do keep in mind that they only accept cash or check, but they have an ATM on-site.

I took my friend here who was visiting from Massachusetts. On our way in, we ran into a famous Alaskan artist who had just dined here with his wife. He made us laugh, and said that it was a great choice for my friend, as this is a true Alaskan spot for amazing breakfast or lunch. We entered and there was a little bit of a wait, maybe five minutes for a table, but there was immediate space at the counter. We chose to wait. She ordered the 2x2x2, which was two pancakes, two eggs, and two slices of bacon. I got the waffle with two eggs and two slices of bacon. Our coffee was strong and good. Our food was generously proportioned and yummy. We had a great conversation and really loved the vibe of the place and the service from a very nice waitress. We had a fantastic visit, loved the folks that frequent this local establishment. Can't wait to come on Sunday and try the eggs Benedict that is served only on Sundays. I also really want to try the biscuits and gravy.

Loved the food and service. I would definitely recommend chicken omelette and crispy chicken salad. Fries were little salty for my liking but overall very tasty food. Very friendly staff.

Boy did I want to like this place but their hot cocoa was atrocious! I've heard good things about their coffee, but I don't do that so the hot chocolate had to suffice at the grading scale. Barely any flavor and no creaminess. Luckily, the atmosphere and staff brought it up to an above average rating.

Loved it so much, came here 3 times while visiting Anchorage for the weekend! There special this month was the pistachio puff, so delicious! And the views were amazing!

This is a good spot to have a small meeting or spend time with a friend. Spacious enough with many tables and seating options. I was there for a meet and greet business meeting. The service was a little slow in my opinion and besides the cashier the baristas were grumpy. I am sure it was a long morning as it was noon when I was there. This kept me from giving the full 5 stars. The americano I ordered was good! Kaladi coffee drinks typically are and so is this location.

Oat milk hazelnut nut latte was the bomb! Such a nice vibe atmosphere place… I also did some reading to help pass the time.. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again, whenever I’m in Anchorage! Bravo !

The latte is very smooth! Really enjoyed it. The menu was not posted online so it took me a moment to scan the items in line before ordering. Also, the flavor list was posted after ordering. Prices were not posted for their water bottles either and I felt too rushed to ask about it. But overall, very happy with the coffee

It is a nice coffee shop with a great view of the mountains. Inside has the feeling of a nice coffee shop with some art on the walls and a coffee bar with bakery and food items located there as well. The cashier and cook didn't have the best of customer service mannerisms but they still did their job and got the coffee and burrito I had ordered out to me. Still I would recommend making a stop here and getting some coffee and enjoy the mountain views.

Came here for breakfast after reading the great reviews, and we were pleasantly surprised how well reality lived up to the hype. This is a seriously good breakfast. Our portions were generous, and the meals were delicious. The buttermilk pancakes are awesome! My corned beef skillet was one of the best hashes I've had in a long time, and we're from PA Dutch country. In fact, we're planning on stopping by again tomorrow morning before we leave Anchorage. A place so nice, you gotta go twice (or more, but we won't be here to keep coming back though we will be back if we ever return to Anchorage). Vegetarian options are available, and the service was quick and polite.

Finally made it to Heidi’s with some good friends. I was not disappointed whatsoever! Great place for breakfast!! The place is very clean, up to date, and very well kept! Bravo Heidi’s! I think I will frequent this place from now on! I know this is a challenge in Alaska. Service is very kind and helpful! Nothing like getting mini candy bars after the meal!! Sorry I don’t have pictures of the food, our conversation and excitement got the best of us and I forgot. I had the country fried steak skillet and it was delicious. My friend had an omelette and I can say this! The dish looks both great and tastes great. I actually like that it is not overly huge and ridiculous! It is the right amount!

Very delicious breakfast, clean and good environment! I was seated immediately and offered coffee right away. They work well as a team here. I’m only visiting, but if I wasn’t I sure would come here often! My server Alysha was awesome!

So happy we found this little gem. Stopped by with our family or 10, and they quickly put together a table for us to sit together. Food was great! I specifically enjoyed the very crispy hash browns and the buttery fluffy waffles. Service was A+. A great spot for comfort breakfast.

I was in town for work from Idaho. Decided to grab some breakfast. Did a Google search on breakfast places in Anchorage. Heidi’s came up in my search so I headed over. I had the Ultimate Breakfast and it was phenomenal. The service was great, the restaurant was clean, the coffee was good, and the food was delicious. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Great place! This was our first visit. Our server, Morgan, did a great job and was super nice. The food was great. The halibut fish and chips were outstanding. We also ordered a crab 🦀 sandwich and house wine. Highly recommend this place. During busy times, all the tables and bar seats could be full so you may have to wait a while for a table. 🍷

The best bar food that I had in a while! The restaurant is always crowded, so you may need to wait and few minutes until a seat is available. Likely it is going to be a seat at one of the bars. Get one where you see chefs cooking, it is a great show to see. My favorite was the King Salmon salad special, the fish was very fresh and tasty. Deep fried halibut is also very good.

The place was very crowded when we came in and it took us a little while to get service, which is ok I totally understand they were busy and small staff. Seemed like there were only two cooks in the kitchen so our food took a very long time. The salmon spread had some cheese mixed in already and didn’t have much salmon flavor. Just was different than what we expected. The Caesar salad would have probably been a lot better with Caesar dressing but I got it with the red wine vinegarette, and they didn’t put any parm on it? I don’t know if that was because I got it with a different dressing or why. Their dressing options are just Caesar, blue cheese, or the red wine vinaigrette. The halibut sandwich could have used a little bit more salt but the fish was very tender and the fries were good. The French onion soup was a bit salty but good.

Crab sandwich was tasty, and the Alaskan halibut sandwich with fries was fresh and flavorful, though a touch more salt would have made it good. Friendly staff and a welcoming local bar vibe with great seafood options.

What a great time we had at F-street station in DT Anchorage! The food was great- portions FANTASTIC! And they cook in front of you! I was seated in under 60 seconds as well I had two beers -first the TWISTED CREEK IPA Great citrus IPA and has just the right amount of bite. I give an 8.2/10 overall -second beer was ALASKAN HAZY IPA Can’t recommend this beer enough. It’s very smooth and very hazy. I give it an 8.7/10 overall I had the NY Strip Sandwhich; it was an amazing sandwhich, cooked in front of me to temp and presented perfectly. See for yourself!

Stopped at this bar/grill the night before leaving on a cruise. Great food and drinks at a reasonable price. Tried the sourdough crab sandwich and it was really good. Would recommend, but it does get busy.

The place was packed!! You have to find a seat yourself and it's basically bar style. It was really busy so it took a while for the food to arrive, but I sat right in front of the cooks, and they were working hard. They were funny too, and interactive with the guest which was nice to watch. The food was amazing. I got the grilled halibut sandwich and soup of the day. My friend from Alaska recommended this place to me since I've from out of town. I would definitely go back again if I get a chance in the future.

Went for one of their monthly dinners and wow! Great food, service, wine, atmosphere, company, etc the list really does go on. As a vegan, I was blown away by not only the taste of the food, but the presentation as well! It sounds kind of ridiculous as a vegan to suggest a place that is already well-known for seafood, but I have to admit that it was one of the best (certainly the nicest) vegan meals I’ve ever had. Wish I had taken pics of more than just the spongecake dessert! Also have to add the wine pairings were very thoughtful and excellent along with the service. The staff there feel like a real people who take pride in their craft and enjoy what they do. Cant recommend the experience enough!

Wow! Everything about this place was awesome! While we waited to be called in, my family and I were able to take a walk around and spot some salmon working their way up river. A short wait later we grabbed a seat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and views. We Ordered the King crab and Ribeye Steak, with a dozen oyster and seafood chowder, everything was so Good! We celebrated my daughter's 3rd Birthday and she was treated so well by waitress. Everyone was so pleasant and the service was superb. Highly recommend, we will for sure be back before we leave.

The best and freshest high quality sea food in Anchorage! The king salmon I ordered was cooked perfectly medium rare and seasoned just right. The salad bar offers nice options as well. You also can’t beat the view of everyone fishing right below the restaurant in Ship Creek.

I love this place for the view and the salad bar! The food is good, but the watermelon mint salad is my favorite. We enjoyed watching people fish while eating our dinner. I recommend going around sunset and asking for a window seat!

A woman came out today directing people to leave the lot. I wasn’t fishing, and I’m a local. I was checking something momentarily on a Sunday morning and not planning on staying. She was nasty, and arrogant. People like her just make you NOT want to do business there, and I won’t. Perhaps, she should gate the lot off and have the toilets moved. Zero people skills. .

The Fancy Moose Lounge has a nice atmosphere and decent service, but the food leaves much to be desired. The flavors were underwhelming and lacked character - I’d rate it a three at best. After breakfast, we had to find another place for a second meal because it just didn’t satisfy. While the setting is pleasant, the restaurant really needs to step up its game when it comes to the quality and taste of the food.

We spent three days at the lakefront Lodge. this bar restaurant it’s in the same building. We ate there two days in a row.Nice bar overlooking the lake. You can watch float planes, taking off and landing while you’re eating. They have a nice outdoor deck that wasn’t open when we got there in early May. Unfortunate .Typical bar room food we had the halibut with onion rings, club sandwich, actually two nights in a row and a reindeer sausage sandwich with onions and peppers that was outstanding. Huge side salad, friendly staff loaded with Big game mounts.

A great place to sit and eat, especially if the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Really enjoyed the food, and the service was good. What I enjoyed the most was the location, sat watching the float plane's take off and land. Ample parking, nothing to dislike here.

Located on a lake where many float planes land and take off. The atmosphere is nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The chowder on Friday night was delicious. The halibut was cooked to perfection. The spinach wrap with chickpeas and spinach was very good. Did not have to wait for a table. Reasonably priced food and drinks.

Nice views of the lake and airplanes flying in and out of the water. Poor service-as nobody assisted for at least 15 minutes and us sitting at the table without even menus. The food was mediocre too. I ordered The Local and got 3 inch dry sausage hidden in the huge bun covered with French fries.

Blackened halibut was tender yet had a burnt taste. Both portion sizes were medium to small. The shrimp pol boy was crispy. Bread was regular - nothing to write home about. The side salad was colorful and fresh. The fries were mid. Prices were high for the food.

The Sandwich Deck is unpretentious and a regular diner atmosphere but has good food and generous portions at reasonable prices. The owner is laconically friendly and helped us translate Kiwi into American prices.

I went here for a late breakfast and although full had no issues getting a seat and being served quickly. I opted for the reindeer omelette and they allowed me to get an English muffin as my bread option. You order from the counter and serve your own drinks. Food was brought out fresh,but it isn’t “fast food”. The staff is friendly and efficient. Good breakfast choice in downtown Anchorage.

This is my go to spot for breakfast & lunch in downtown. Love the chill vibes, always greeted with a smile. Classic - no fuss diner, kid friendly & gluten free friendly. Love the wrap around windows. Huge menu, outstanding service, affordable & great portions. 10/10 for us.

I love this place. It’s an aviation themed bar and lounge overlooking Lake Hood, in a hotel. Chairs and tables are comfy, lots of large TVs if you’re into sports, but, it’s not loud. The drinks are always good, plenty of beer options, and we’ve never had bad food. They do happy hour for apps everyday from 5-7, which is awesome. Pictured is salmon spread with tomatoes, capers, and onions on pita.

This is a diamond to find when you arrive at the small Coast Inn at the Anchorage airport. It’s a bar/restaurant and the drinks are good and the food is also solid. Nice servers and they were pretty attentive. Beef stroganoff was actually pretty good once you put some spices on top and the happy hour “sliders” were also good. Prices were reasonable! VictorB

I stayed at this hotel, the Coast Hotel for a convention and found this amazing diner inside. They have everything you could ever want. It was all so tasty and with a full bar you will leave happy. It is loaded with TVs with all sports playing, the staff was nice and friendly and the views of the lake in the summer would be very pretty to see. This aviation themed diner has existed for ages as they should. Stop in and grab a bite. Enjoy!

Huge amount of salmon on the salmon BLT. Giant portion of fried pickles and very crispy - not at all soggy for being big spears. Waitress was very attentive and friendly too 😊

Biscuit and gravy were terrible. Food came out cold. Eggs cold. Portion sizes are very large. Waitress was super nice though.

Loved the chips, fresh and crispy, the way I like chips. The burger was meaty and tasted like it was a blend of meats, beef and caribou. Either way, loved it. The drink was peachy and strong. Great flavor. The avocado ranch dipping sauce wasn't needed because the Mexican style "egg roll" was flavored very well. Spices and the creamy-Ness was spot on. Potato skins went into the ranch as well. Delicious.

Took my father (he has severe dementia). We went 3 days in a row and each of the staff that served us was very patient and kind to both of us. They did not rush us and was patient. I food was cooked very well and tasty. I would recommend Village Inn to anyone who would like a good meal with good service!

I've been here for years, and of course it'll change over time, never the same as it used to. Food is as decent as ever for a quick homestyle breakfast in the morning, or you can be laid bad and enjoy the coffee for longer. Service is always welcoming and friendly. Surprised to get the old fun yellow cup after so long. Great place to enjoy with family and friends.

It’s been a while since we visited Village Inn, so we decided to give it another try. We arrived on a busy Sunday, expecting a wait, but we were promptly seated. We had our orders ready and placed them right away. The waitress was friendly and brought us water and coffee. However, after that, we didn’t see her again. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, while others who arrived after us received their meals before us. No one acknowledged our presence or checked in on us. We were about to leave and go somewhere else when the waitress finally came with our food and apologized. The food was at least fresh and tasted good, but the poor service completely ruined the experience for us. We’ll be sticking to our usual small business breakfast spots in the future.

Where to start… You can tell management has been lacking for a long time here. When we arrived, party of 3. We were told there were no tables available. I counted 3 on the back wall and one on each side of the restaurant. It’s one thing to be short staffed but to have people wait 30 minutes to be seated at the same tables that sat empty. Wow. We ordered our food. My mother in law ordered the Chicken Fried steak skillet, that’s not what she got. My husband ordered a ham and sausage omelette with hashbrowns, he got a skillet. I ordered a Chicken Ranch sandwich, but you don’t actually have ranch on the sandwich. Ugh. I’m glad we don’t have to return as we were passing through. This place desperately needs some to organize them.

I used to love eating here but I will never be back again. My family was refused service and blatantly ignored by staff and servers. Tried several times to get their attention, waving at the servers just trying to get a menu at least. Waited 10-15 minutes and were refused service, just for being native, they had maybe 4 tables so it wasn't because they were busy. Watched as they served everyone else but looked at us and walked away not once twice three but FOUR times. If you are native, do not bother coming here, they do not want our business!! I'm really disappointed being discriminated against in an establishment we have gone to for breakfast for a long time.

Absolutely delicious coffee and food! Our highlight was the Quiche; normally restaurants manage to burn the outside but this one was perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. One of our pet peeves is finding a place that can make a good cortado (espresso shot with a tiny amount of milk & foam, not a latte as most places seem to think). This place made it perfectly, no special instructions required! Finally, try the rosemary brown sugar house made syrup! It’s delicious New all time favorite in Anchorage

Lovely little coffee shop, delicious latte and cappuccino which had a thick layer of foam! Quiche is large and delicious 😋 There is some seating inside and outside, and the specialty chocolate selection of Taza bars is incredible (and delicious). The staff are very friendly and you can see all of the care that goes into utilizing their small space!

Ordered the pancake bowl and a latte. The bowl was amazing. It had the perfect mix of oatmeal, berries and the pancake. Tasted perfect and I really enjoyed it. The latte was great as well. Great location and ambiance. The place can use a renovation but not critical. Service was excellent. Will come again.

Visited for a light lunch. I had a matcha latte and the soup of the day -potato and leek. The soup was delicious and the matcha was flavorful and not as heavy as the ones served at chain coffee shops. They had an assortment of pastries that looked great, so I'll have to come back and try those another day. Seating is a little tight inside, but they have reading materials and games available for patrons.

We randomly dropped by for a light breakfast and lattes mid morning and loved this place! Small and very cozy, it had such a nostalgic vibe with an excellent drink menu. Wonderfully crafted latte selection and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend for a quiet spot for breakfast!

I visited Dark Horse Coffee for the first time today while visiting Anchorage, AK. The cafe is located in the Downtown area which seems convenient. I ordered an iced latte with a bit of their sugar free blueberry syrup flavour shot, their award winning Vegan Pancake Bowl, and a chocolate covered coconut macaron. The iced latte wasn't the best to be honest, as to me it tasted too bitter and I only ended up having a few sips of the drink. The Pancake Bowl was truly delicious and something new that I hadn't tried before; I enjoyed it very much but wasn't a fan of the cashew yogurt on top, all else paired nicely. Lastly, the chocolate covered coconut macaron was tasty as well. In my opinion, the items were all fairly priced and the service was good. The atmosphere of the cafe could use some work in terms of ambience and updating. If I'm in the Downtown area again, I'd definitely visit again just for the Pancake Bowl once more.

Coffee is awesome. We tried the banana latte it is so good. The flavor blend so well together for a coffee. And you must try their pastry. Is another level ! Felt like a real French pastry house. At least the palmier is the best I ever had !!

Call in your order to go, it’ll be ready quick. We’ve tried the fish and chips and the carne asada nachos. We came back for the nachos, they’re worth the $18. Small spot downtown. They serve beer on tap and bottled. The staff are friendly enough. I’ve tried their salmon quesadilla at the Alaska State fair and it was delicious. We’re coming back to try the breakfast burritos and other items.

This was a great place to catch something good to eat while downtown Anchorage. Loved the out door seating. Had the salmon tacos and the carne asada crunch wrap. The honemade tortilla chips are the best!! They were both very good. More food than we could eat. Fun dining experience.

You know I truly enjoy eating at those one of a kind places. And AK Alchemist is one of a kind. They have a little bit of everything. Coffee and food. Just depends what u are in the mood for. I had their smoked salmon nachos 🤤. And smoked salmon taco's. Recommendation came from the owner of @Alaska Ice. Thank you. The food is tasty 😋 and the portion sizes are well,,, huge, as u can see in the photos. Would highly recommend.

I don't come here often despite living downtown, but this place is one of those rare gems in Anchorage! Love being able to take my dog, drink a beer and eat some chips and salsa in the open air bar. The food and coffee are amazing for the value too! If you've ever passed by and wondered if this place is any good, it's worth a stop. Great value, chill atmosphere and friendly staff. For sure one of my favorite spots downtown!

I live all the way in the valley but every time I’m in anchorage I have to stop by and get their breaded halibut and fries and it’s just as good with rockfish

Great coffee! Great service. The burrito was good except it was very Wonder bread, white boy burrito. No onions, no hot sauce, no cilantro, no flavor. I think a burrito by definition is Mexican food. Some fresh salsa or at least Cholula or tapatio would help a lot.

The place looked at little run down driving by it, but I finally got around to looking up their menu and once I did, I HAD to try it! I got the smoked salmon breakfast burrito, soooo good! I was going to try one of the smoothies, but they only had peach and barely enough of that. So I asked what their best coffee flavor was and I don't even remember it was peanut butter some kind of cookie and white chocolate, so I went with that one and it was so good! The right amount of sweetness and strength. I wish I went back again, because I'm incredibly interested and curious about the Reindeer Crunchwrap!

Great place like any IHOP. Here the staff is a bit different. Very friendly and warm. Prices are similar throughout all US states. I always order the same and it's the same taste and flavour. If you are wanting some pancakes this is the place.

First off, the staff all smelled like they just finished smoking up some drugs. Bacon was under cook, eggs undercooked, pancakes had unrecognizable green spots in it. And we didn't even silverware till 8 minutes after the food arrived. Never again at this location... gross

Did an EARLY park and pickup order ( Sleeping kids and early appointments for gram), Ordered online, they were QUICK! Food was hott and everything well cooked! It worked perfectly! It was extremely empty and you could tell staff was ready for more people ♡

Walking into the establishment, we were greeted with a very friendly welcome by a gentleman who showed us to our seat. The atmosphere was very comfortable and welcoming. I noticed how friendly and warm the staff were. It showed they have great management by the way each interacted. Food was great, too. Thank you for your great customer service!

The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. The food came out hot and delicious. What really stood out to me was that even after we paid, the staff still checked in to make sure we had enough coffee. That small gesture really showed they cared about the customer experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back!

I guess there's a reason it's been years since I last visited this place. We went to grab breakfast before stopping by Lowe's. It was Saturday late morning, and they were busy as expected. We waited just about three or four minutes for a table and were seated and given our menus. That was the last time we had any interaction with an employee. We had active tables surrounding us with multiple waitstaff servicing them. In particular, one waiter stopped by multiple times at three of the tables surrounding us, yet never acknowledged us, offered coffee or water. The same for a waitress serving the fourth table next to us. After sitting at the table for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement, we decided to leave and try another place for breakfast. Not surprisingly, there weren't even any "thank you for stopping by" from anyone working the hostess table on our way out. Seriously, spend the 2-3 minutes and drive to any of the other amazing and local breakfast places that are close by. You'll get better service and, believe it or not, you'll save some money too. The well known local place that's a few blocks away was $2-$3 cheaper per meal than IHOP. I'm not sure what IHOP is doing with the pricing nowadays but you are not getting what you pay for anymore.

Finally understand what IHOP really stands for ICKY HAIR ON POTATOES. When I called the server over, she said it could be one of my hairs. I pulled the hair out and told her to try and find a 12 inch hair anywhere on my body. She stood there looking stupid, so I just yelled at the top of my lungs that I found a really long hair in my food. The manager was at my table in 4.7 seconds. When I told him what the idiot server said, he sent her home for the day. He offered me anything I wanted and my wife and I would be comped. I said no thanks and we walked out, as did a number of other people.

A great place for breakfast! The food here is very good and perfectly prepared! A nice menu with a large selection to choose from. Large portions for the price. The service is fast and friendly. An absolute must try is the Crab Cakes Benedict! What a unique and fabulous breakfast!

Southside grill was a great start to our trip to Alaska. Mama treated us like family. The breakfast was delicious with large portions and amazing service. You need to come eat here. You will Not be disappointed.

Awesome brunch! Got a seat right away and super fast service, all surprising with how busy they were on a Sunday. Coffee tasted… weird, but everything else was delicious. Ordered chocolate chip pancakes from the kids menu, country fried steak, and monte christo sandwich. We will for sure be back!

Southside Grill is a charming family-owned restaurant that serves up a brunch experience unlike any other. I had the pleasure of trying their Country Fried Steak and their Philly and it was a flavor explosion in every bite. The dipping sauce paired perfectly with the Philly sandwich, and their fries added a lovely crunch. Not only is the food top-notch, but the service is also exceptional. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and ensure you have everything you need. Overall, my experience at Southside Grill was nothing short of fantastic. If you're looking for a brunch spot that offers great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere this is your place!

Great atmosphere and setting. Great service too. Food was good. I ordered a turkey sandwich & my husband ordered the pigs in blanket with a side of grits (sausages wrapped in pancakes). My food tasted good but my husband’s not so much. Grits were a little undercooked. Sausages used in the pancake were too tiny and pancakes were quite doughy. Other than that, not a bad place. Would come back!

I’ve been coming here since I was a child and it’s always been fantastic! I had the privilege of trying Tina’s signature hot sauce for the first time, and it may be the best I’ve ever had! Can’t say enough good things about Southside Grill. Truely one of a kind. Go down and say hi to Flutra and have an amazing meal. 🩷💜

Dined here twice. It's a little bit on the higher end for price, but I really think the large portion and higher food quality makes a worth it. I really enjoy the reindeer sausage breakfast, which comes with three eggs, hash browns, three large pieces of reindeer sausage, and a pancake or potatoes. I left happy twice.

I wasn't going to write a bad review at 1st but then I only received a handful of fries!! All I ordered was a side a Fries for pick up on a Saturday, they told me 10 minutes, I get there after the first 10 minutes and have to wait another 10 minutes in the lobby at that point I left and went n got gas and soda. The side of Fries is $7.25 and I tipped .75cents so $8 dollars for a handful of fries and an over 20 minute wait!!

I ordered the club sandwich. It was reasonably priced for a sit down meal. Bacon and fries were crispy. Pretty good overall, they could use more business as they serve so many items all day including breakfast. I added photo, not sure the photo did the sandwich justice, but I only ate half, it was very filling.

I have been wanting to stop here for years, unfortunately when we did they were no longer a bakery. The hollandaise sauce was flavorless. Hash browns were great even though I ordered home fries, we ordered half an order of biscuits and gravy but didn't get it until we were leaving. We git a full order which I'm sure I was charged for but don't know cause I didn't get an itemized receipt. Kinda disappointing

I’m a local and always enjoy the great food and service at Bobby’s Cafe. I would recommend the breakfast to anyone looking for a great home cooked meal. Alex is always a ray of sunshine and very attentive waitress. To everyone at Bobby’s Cafe keep up the great work! You are appreciated!

Start the day with a lovely breakfast. We've been here a few times and everything is good and keeps us full all day. It's quite big with 2 dining areas and you can see the open kitchen. We will be back. My fave breakfast burrito.

Crepes were great! We ordered a ham and Swiss and a Nutella and banana one. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was good, however, the Turkish coffee was a huge disappointment! They have the mechanism but did not blend it enough and at the end it was hot water with grainy coffee, nothing like what we have had in Istanbul, Turkey or Malta. I had ordered 2 because I was sure I would love it but definitely the young man making it needed further training

We were wandering and shopping and being generally boring tourists in downtown Anchorage when I spotted this spot from across the street. With all things here in Alaska I was hoping to find a fish with salmon and I wasn't disappointed. I got the Alaskan Smoked King Salmon crepe and the wife got the Alaskan Reindeer and we shared a brie, walnuts and honey for dessert. The venue is pretty chill, a little granola vibe. Service was quick and helpful. Docked a star after the wife's crepe missed one of the fillings, mine had multiple fish bones (though very tasty), and the sweet crepe had so little honey it tasted like a savory crepe. Overall solid experience but a few drawbacks. I'd give em a second try though.

I love this place. They have some cute little wicker chairs in the front. They have regular style tables and they have some comfy chairs around small tables in the center of the room. They offer free Wi-Fi for guests and they were so so friendly. They have their own specialty coffees and they offer both sweet and savory crêpes and it was super nice.

Nice place, not cozy, but several seating options. The crepes were good, by wife really enjoyed her Paris crepe. I had the Alaskan Reindeer, which as OK, the sausage was good but I think if the peppers had been roasted it would have had more flavor. Pricing was a little high, and the sandwich board outside did not match the pricing inside. Staff was very friendly.

Best crapes east of France! Really enjoyed the smoked king salmon crepe. So full of salmon, cheeses, capers and spinach that I could barely eat it all. Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to try desert crepes that looked so good. Perfect meal and comfortable environment.

Cute and cozy crepe restaurant with sweet and savory options. Ordered the Alaskan Reindeer (peppers, cheese, reindeer sausage) and the Mama Mia latte. Would recommend and would definitely like to come back to try more of their menu.

Staff is friendly and fast. The crepes are just okay. 3 stars because their coffee was too sweet and had too much syrup that you can barely taste the coffee. The matcha was one of the worst matchas I had.

First time to the Little Dipper Diner. I ordered the French dip, it was good, but there was no dip. I don't know if it didn't come with it, or they just forgot? My son had the philly cheese steak. A very small philly cheese steak. I guess we are used to east coast philly's. My daughter had the chicken sandwich. She said it was good.

Extremely busy and you will need to wait but omg it’s very with the food and top knock quality. You will need to have patience with the wait time. Everyone is extremely busy and performing multiple tasks at once. The atmosphere is very cool. It has on half of the restaurant in arcade connected to the restaurant so you can eat your food and let your kids play on these video games or you can be in the other side of the restaurant and be surrounded with all this vintage Coca-Cola signs and collectibles. The food is phenomenal

My Granddaughter and I came into Anchorage for an art class. We live in Palmer. We wanted a fun place to have breakfast. This place was fun plus. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The food came out fast and was delicious. Our waitress and staff were friendly and helpful. My granddaughter and I highly recommend this place.

Coolest diner in town! Old school game consoles, pin ball machines, little cartoon nook for the kiddos, bring your extra quarters. The food is well done, good portions with excellent flavor. Service, some of the nicest people we’ve met in town. Do yourself a favor and get over there.

Absolutely love this place will be returning as much as possible. The atmosphere is so homey and the food is some of the most delicious home style food I’ve had in a very long time. I’m so glad I came across this little gem. I’m definitely going to be telling everyone I know about it.

This place is very classic diner. The food is exactly what you expect when you eat out. It's safe to assume any of my friends would enjoy it if I needed to suggest somewhere. The staff are attentive in exactly the right way. They make sure you can get in and out if thats what you are wanting, but make sure you have everything you need if you are sticking around. I love the arcade games as you enter, its a fun addition. You dont have to sit near them, but it's neat if you do.

Always great service, home roasted beans by the owner and friendly locals that are great to talk to. Bring your dog (as long as they are dog and people friendly). I love this place-get The Bomber - a waffle with fresh bacon and egg on top ( I prefer sunny side) and grab some beans to grind fresh at home. I forgot! Free coffee with any order!

The food is delicious but the staff is really busy so it’s challenging to get a refill or anything you need.

This place has wonderful coffee, as well as lunch/breakfast type foods. It's a mile or so off of the main highway, but I have a lot of friends who come up to this "old highway" just to stop here. The prices are quite appropriate, the service is outstanding, and we almost always see friends there. No wonder - it's a great place!

My favorite cafe. Best service and most amazing food. Did I mention fresh coffee that's roasted on site. My go to is their biscuits and gravy and their cinnamon rolls. Now they have a drive through Mon-Friday for coffee and pastries. Amazing great spot to come in and experience local hospitality as it's finest. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice and will provide amazing service. My favorite spot locally.

Best place in the area for home cooked food. Trig and team welcome you with the best service, tasty food and a wonderful local atmosphere!. He roasts his own coffee on-site, you won't find a better cup anywhere in Alaska, take a bag of beans home with you!

An excellent experience! Food and service were terrific. The memorabilia was very cool, photos, vinyl records playing, nice atmosphere! Chicken fried steaks or anything on the menu is bound to tingle your tastebuds.

I stayed at the Anchorage Hilton in August 2025 and overall had a very good experience. Some other reviews note that the hotel is a bit outdated, and that’s fair but honestly, it’s only slightly so, and it doesn’t take away from the stay. The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but what they lack in size and modern flash is more than made up for by the staff. Housekeeping deserves special recognition—my room was immaculate throughout my stay, and Ana, who looked after my room, did an outstanding job keeping it tidy and the coffee bar well stocked. The breakfast buffet is hearty but very average, your typical hotel spread. The location, however, is superb. For that reason alone I’d recommend this property, not to mention the consistency and service you expect from Hilton accommodations. One note for travelers: as of my visit in August 2025, there was some construction in the lobby and painting underway on the exterior (so expect to see a few painters hanging around the building). All in all, a solid stay, I’d recommend it, especially if you value location and attentive staff service.

Honestly the room was okay. Nice view. The bed was comfortable but the room smelled like smoke. It was EXTREMELY outdated and grimey looking. By far the worst Hilton I've stayed in. Absolutely not worth the price they are charging. The staff however was very kind and accommodating. We were only staying one night and had a late check in, so no fuss. However, If you do plan to stay here, I highly recommend looking elsewhere for the price.

Unfortunately, this hotel was far below acceptable standards. The room and common areas were extremely unclean, which made the stay uncomfortable. The heating/AC was not functioning, and the elevators were so loud that they could be heard throughout the entire building, making it difficult to sleep. The overall appearance was very run-down, with dark and depressing paint colors and furnishings that made the rooms feel even less inviting. In my opinion, the property is in need of a major renovation. Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel until significant improvements are made.

I arrived early in the morning and checked into the hotel, but there’s no hot water, so I haven’t been able to take a shower yet. They said the main boiler was broken and tried to fix it during the day, but it’s still not working, and there’s no estimate for when we’ll have hot water again. Without the boiler, the room heating doesn’t work either. It’s 5°C outside. I tried to sleep in the room during the day, but I woke up with a severe sore throat. But first, I really need something done about the hotel conditions. This issue isn’t limited to my room — the entire hotel has no heating or hot water.

I would like to shout out Melissa G, the leader whom I discovered at the front end at the Hilton Anchorage downtown. I’ve been to many Hilton‘s, but never like this one because of Melissa G. She is delightful to talk to very bubbly happy and always willing to help those Who come to her for anything. I think you Hylton for just having her as an employee because It makes a difference to have someone who’s as determined and direct as an agent when the lobby is busy. Thank you for an incredible employee. Frances, our housekeeping lady is always as cheerful And brought me more coffee and new towels. Chavez and Ena We’re also fantastic. Thank you, Hilton.

I had such a wonderful stay at the Hilton! The front desk team truly made the experience stand out. I am currently staying at this hotel and the same problems are here that people the last couple of weeks have mentioned, so it is obvious to me that there is no motivation to fix the problems at this hotel. I will not base my review on the problems surrounding the hotel but it was still unfortunate hearing the loud trains and the many homeless people near the area. However, like all the others have said there are basic things this expensive hotel does not seem to care about providing. There was no air conditioning, no hot water (even after running for 15 minutes) I just had to take a shower in ice cold water, trash in the hallways, and limited ice machines working. The frustrating part is we were part of a cruise and had no choice but to stay here. It seems they don't care about fixing anything because they get their business from the cruise companies (which I will also be complaining to about this experience). I'm just grateful we only had to stay here one night. If I had to stay here for an extended time and pay the high prices directly, I would be even more disappointed. If they send me their copy/pasted response of how to contact them I will do so and update my review. I can honestly say this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. The lobby looks nice but once you get in further, it is obviously not a pleasant or even mediocre experience. I am really not a picky person but when basic things have not been fixed in many weeks and when you have no choice but to stay here and they get their money, it makes me wish I could give less than one star.

We spent a night in the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel as part of our cruise package. It is centrally located and within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. It is an older building, but we didn't mind because of the cleanliness and amenities. It is certainly up to date! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Lyn was amazing! She was witty and welcoming - made us feel at home. We will definitely return when and if we are ever back in this part of the country. Thank you!

This hotel is pretty average but could be better for the price. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and Lyn at the front desk was amazing. The hotel is within walking distance to the downtown area and you can find good places to eat,(The Biscuit Club), shopping, and sightseeing. All in all its okay, but not really up to the Sheraton name.

I got a phone call early in the morning, from my hotel room phone 9/20. It was a person saying they were from management downstairs(the name given to me was Marv)and the voice sounded familiar. He needed to verify my card number and zip code. This individual, read me my card number, and only asked for my zip code. Since he already read the card number to me, I assumed it was true and gave my zip code. I look at my account on 9/21 and had a slew of charges on my card. I went downstairs to inform the staff at about 1530, and they told me they would never call over the phone for my information and this has happened to a few guest at that hotel before. I gave this hotel a 1 star, because how is this happening where someone is calling the room phone number, and having customers information? Is this a data breach? Is this an inside job? There needs to be some accountability with this situation. I do not want others to be im the same boat as I am.

Decent for a short stay if you just need a place to sleep for a couple of nights. The hotel is extremely dated, similar to many others in the city, but I expected more from a Marriott property. Location is downtown and walking distance to some restaurants, but isn’t in the best area (safety wise).

Our stay at the Sheraton was wonderful. The only downside was the food. We ate at the bar our first night. One of the dishes we ordered was the pickled shrimp, beets, and microgreens. The shrimp was not pickled. They had no flavor, I think they were simply poached or steamed. The beets were rotten and fizzy tasting. The salad was mixed greens not microgreens. I absolutely love beets. Especially pickled beets so this was very disappointing. I pointed all this out to our server and they didn't discount the salad. We went to breakfast once. Our waitress Gina was rude and never refilled drinks. We had to regularly ask another waitress for drinks. I need cheese added to an omelet that arrived without cheese and I had to wait forever. I went to the buffet and ate my entire breakfast before Gina finely came back. I had to send the nice waitress (Cecilia) to go find her. Then Gina took my friends plate before she was done eating. That just was the icing on the cake this morning. Seeing the two waitresses together is like day and night. If we come back I will ask to sit in Cecilia's section.

Lyn from front desk is exceptional. Great customer service & big warm smile everytime I see her. Very friendly, she’s the type of person that you want to squeeze & give her a big hug like a bear. Great personality above all.

I only stayed 1 night and we got in late, but the bed was comfy and the water was hot! The restaurant had good food and the coffee place had good coffee! I'd recommend for those staying in Anchorage. Only 3 mins via taxi from the train station.

We stopped for lunch at Great Harvest Bread Company where the breads are outstanding and certainly among the best we have had around the world. We ordered two different turkey sandwiches. Unfortunately, they were incorrectly prepared as if half of each was added to the other. My wife got two loads of turkey without veggies, and I got two loads of veggies without turkey. We realized the mistake after we were well into the meal so we didn’t bother to see if they would fix it. We were full as the serving size is ample. We did try their cinnamon rolls, which were very good. So, on the one hand, the breads are excellent and the sandwiches are potentially a 5 out of 5 stars when correctly prepared. I would rate the cinnamon roll at 4 of 5 as I like Cinnabon icing but my wife would rate it a 5 because she’s not enamored of icing. The seating is comfortable and there is plenty of parking. If you enjoy fresh bread, this is a great place.

Everything is delicious and made fresh onsite. Staff are so nice. Free piece of bread. Wonderful breads, baked goods, and sandwiches. You can get your breakfast or lunch sandwich on any type of bread (with free cookie). Nice clean store with plenty of seating.

This place is amazing!! Do not miss out on trying this place. They have baked goods, salads and sandwiches. I have the July sandwich turkey Cobb and it was great. And this is the first time in a long time that I ate before I took the picture. 😔 10/10 recommend go in and order some fresh baked bread and sandwich. Oh and you can order online!!

I was excited to hear this very fond of bakery/sandwich shop was opening In wasilla so I came to Anchorage to try it out. Atmosphere was busy and cold. The service was minimum offering no specials no suggestions and did not listen to my order thus lead to making my sandwich incorrectly. While the bread tasted good the sandwich was literally a Home made sandwich cut in half and then I was charged $10 for it with no opportunity for a drink. Nothing special about this place. I am still hungry. My sandwich was wrong and now I have no desire to go to the new Wasilla location when it opens. I am tired of expensive Alaskan shops that provide minimum services and basic products for a high price.

Order cinnamon rolls, they were a little dry. The scones where just bread texture not a scone. While waiting for our order saw an employee working at making bread (putting dough in pans no gloves on) he looked at his phone put it back in his pocket and then continued to touch the dough. Not very sanitary.

Yuuuum! This place rocks with a huge variety of fresh breads and pastries. The service is fast and friendly and with your purchase they offer a free slice of one of a selection of goodies. We bought the cheese loaf and ate off it for three days and it was delicious to the last.

Delicious! My favorite breakfast sandwich is the Red Rooster on Rye- absolutely recommend. The bread selection is also wonderful. Some of their more popular loaves sell out earlier though so I’d recommend going earlier in the day if you want to grab a whole loaf. I like that they offer samples while you wait, which are also very decent in size btw! Coffee selection is limited, but still good for what you get and the staff are very friendly! Overall, definitely a place that you’ll go to more than once.

The food was good, the crowd wasn't too bad. I usually like chocolate fudge, which they didn't have, but eventually white fudge came out. The steak, ribs, and creamed sausage were amazing, but the cakes left alot to be desired. The service was lacking at first, but towards the end we got great family-friendly service.

I don't eat much at a buffet. Haha Don't like the feel of being stuffed Their liver with onions is a bit thin, but healthy for you. Nice to eat stuffing out of season. Haha

I really do enjoy this place. Never can go wrong with all you can eat! I miss the old prices as they have gone up this year. Understandable however! It was too good of a deal with inflation. The food is good depending what you get. Things like pizza and other questionable foods are gross. I am for sure getting pot roast, fried okra, fried shrimp, potatoes, ham and probably the steak or sliders if it’s lunch. Then banana pudding and ice cream. You don’t eat the rest of the day after the Corral! Place is typical Alaskan rundown but not terrible. Service is typically rough and bad to decent. Tip them anyway if it is busy.

Prices have changed for, dine in, for all age groups. It's gone up about $3 since most of the pictures were posted on Google maps. As of July 21,2025 I recently uploaded the current prices. I'm not sure why they aren't showing mine as newly posted but they are on there. Otherwise, this is still a great place to eat and bring family too. Great customer service as well.

The variety was good, no complaints there, but with the exception of the pork steak which was amazing it seemed like the only seasoning on anything was salt. I was sick for a couple of days after going there, and I suspect it was from the amount of salt in the food rather than something like ecoli. Would I go there again... Not without a really good reason. The staff were friendly and attentive, but with the amount of salt, it just wasn't for me. Might be better on a different day, but I personally won't be making a return trip next time I'm in the area.

Salad bar is always fresh. Good produce. Selection seems to have gone down a bit and they had a section they weren't even using this time. But if you'd spend $15 @ McDs or BK, I'd rather come here and get a whole meal with veggies, grilled meat and desserts too. Healthier and just better options. The people who work the dining area are always really nice and helpful so I don't mind tipping here! This time I got a box to take home for later. Adding: Get the carrot cake! You actually see carrot shreds in it and the cream cheese frosting is to die for! And their corn fritters are crisp on the outside, tender inside.. get the honey butter in the bread stand next to the desserts!

I'm sorry, the breakfast is terrible, and costs $100 (plus tip!) for four people. It is buffet style. We've had better prepared eggs, pancakes, granola and yogurt at the Hampton Inn -and it was free! There was a sign saying we could order custom omelettes, but the server said the sign was wrong. The orange juice was worse than from can. Look, you are not going to die if you eat the breakfast here, but if you remotely have a choice go somewhere else or get something from the Safeway close by and eat in your room and save $95. The view from the restaurant is lovely, makes up a bit for the poor service.

I'd say this place is hit or miss. The first note is it is extremely expensive for breakfast; meals for four people without drinks was over $70, and there was no custom made meals. Burritos, pancakes and eggs. The food isn't bad, the portion size is decent, but the price (to me) is a bit steep. Yes, I understand its Alaska, a resort, and distant from services. Tracking. But man, a burrito here is $16 and the tramway café its $8. You do the math which is more economically sound. Server was nice as well.
