Barbecue restaurant
Turnagain Arm Pit BBQ is a must-visit destination for barbecue lovers in Anchorage, Alaska. This contemporary smokehouse specializes in authentic Southern-style BBQ, adhering to the traditional low-and-slow cooking methods that define this beloved cuisine. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering options, from succulent pulled pork sandwiches to hearty Pitmaster Plates featuring brisket and chicken. Complementing the main dishes are delightful sides like collard greens, smoked beans, and creamy mac n cheese that perfectly enhance your meal.
We had fantastic service from our waitress for an early dinner. The pulled pork was perfectly moist and delicious, and the side dishes appeared to be freshly made as they were great too. Also enjoyed the chili and the fried pickles. The interior is very clean and has a perfect theme. They offer a 10% military discount. But even before that was applied, I was surprised that the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. Every table has four different kinds of delicious BBQ sauce. Good variety on the menu, and they have a special Mexican menu on Tuesdays. This is a fantastic place.

We dropped in here randomly on a Friday afternoon and were warmly greeted, seated and served very quickly. Chili, corn bread, and crispy ribs were phenomenal. The pulled pork sandwich (forget the name right now) was good too. Really nice selection of four homemade bbq sauces to choose from. Highly recommend!
Bonnie K — Google review
Love this place! Brisket was delicious and I definitely recommend the pulled pork with bacon bark. The sauce variety is pretty stellar too. I like the beans and mac & cheese for sides. Then wash it down with iced tea or a beer.
Adam B — Google review
We ordered for take out. I've been wanting to check this place out and finally got to try it. My order was The Barnyard #1 which is supposed to be 1/4 rack rib, 2 chicken thigh, hot link and curly fries ... but my order is missing a chicken thigh and instead of curly fries, it is just a normal fries. 😒 the food is okay, I just wish they follow through with what's on their menu.
Amalia L — Google review
The brisket was a very tough and difficult to cut with a knife what they called fries tasted of old grease. The beef brisket is okay but unlike True BBQ the sauce is not mixed in with the beef you have to add it. There barbecue sauce is lack originality and they have no Smoky flavor and they are too thin the appear watery. Service is very good price is high for the amount of food that you get

Who would think that you could find some of the best barbecue in North America in Anchorage (or Indian, Ak) ? But you can. We've sampled barbecue all over the Lower 48 and both the Turnagain Arm locations are among our top 5 favorites. Brisket, chicken, or ribs.... all great! Whether the Anchorage or Indian Location... this place rocks!
Greg K — Google review
I’m a fan of brisket it was the best brisket I have ever eaten in Anchorage but portion wasn’t enough for me.
Can A — Google review
Great beef chili with biscuit. It's insane how much beef they put in it. The next time I want a shredded beef steak with chili sauce added in, I'm definitely going back to the Turnagain Arm Pit BBQ!

Soul food restaurant
Nestled in Anchorage, Roscoe's Catfish and Barbeque has been a beloved destination for over three decades, offering a delightful taste of southern soul food. This charming eatery specializes in mouthwatering BBQ dishes and is particularly renowned for its catfish plates, crafted from cherished family recipes. Guests rave about the generous portions and flavorful offerings, including perfectly fried catfish strips that rival those found in the Deep South.
If you haven’t tried this place- you need to. We ordered the brisket, catfish, oxtail, Mac & cheese, collard greens, yams, empanadas and the food did not disappoint. Generous portion sizes, food has lots of flavor and the atmosphere is warm and upbeat. HIGHLY recommend.
Laurel S — Google review
If you want some home bbq cooking, this is the spot. The customer service was top notch and even Roscoe came around to say hi to people which was very nice. I’ve never had catfish before and this was my first time trying it and it wasn’t too bad. You get a good size of fish and I had a combo with it with some ribs and those were yummy. Mac n cheese was cold which was weird to me but my kid ate it up and enjoyed it. The cornbread was a bit dry, I love cornbread so I was disappointed. We got just their free water to drink, the water tasted great and not weird like other places with tap. Clean establishment!
Exploring G — Google review
When we got there we were welcomed in and the gentleman behind the counter gave us the descriptions of the dishes he had available. When contemplating which sides I should order, a nice lady looked over and with a smile said, 'they're all really good," she wasn't wrong. I ordered the braised pork shoulder, Caribbean chicken over jasmine rice, a chicken empanada, red beans, and a cornbread muffin. The other plate was Caribbean beef with bbq spicy chicken. All the dishes were super flavorful with good sized portions and we wound up needing to go containers to enjoy later. We will be back again for the delicious food and enjoyable atmosphere.
Rob M — Google review
If you ever find yourself in Anchorage do yourself a favor and eat here. They have the absolute best soul food outside of the south. I had the the fried pork chops with red beans & rice and collard greens. It tasted like I was in South Carolina. The sweet tea was excellent. I got some jambalaya and sweet potatoes pie to go. Nice, quite and the people were friendly. The walls are lined with famous people who have eaten here. This place is awesome.
Richard G — Google review
I need to work through more of the menu, but my first meal at Roscoe's was extremely promising. These might be the best fried catfish strips I've ever had; better than some well-known places in the Deep South. The fried okra was perfect, well-seasoned, and crispy with no interior slime. Great sweet tea and decent mac and cheese also, but I'm going to be dreaming about that catfish.
Mike S — Google review
Favorite restaurant in Alaska. At first I didn't believe there was soul food in Alaska but Roscoe's proved me wrong. Don't get me started on the catfish hahaha it makes right in your mouth and the ribs are tender to the T. The Philly cheese is a must have as well and the fries are phenomenal. If I would've known about this spot since 2014 I definitely would be broke and fat, but it'd be worth it. I love Roscoe's yes I do, I hope y'all love Roscoe's as much as I do!!!!
David I — Google review
We were never greeted but others walking in were. They charged us for brisket then said they had none amd offered something else that was cheaper than what we already paid, food warmers get turned off at 3 but the food stays sitting there, so weird, my 2 sides and husband's 2 sides we cold and sad. The cat fish was the only decent item. The tartar sauce was straight mayonnaise, no flavor at all and the corn bread was dry and no flavor, it needed salt or butter or honey and it had nothing. The register lady gave my baby a bowl of mashed Potatoes for free, that was the only good thing abt this experience. The other men workers walking around and kept staring, it was weird vibes. Do not recommend at all. They favored an older couple over my family amd left us waiting longer, very upsetting. Gave our left overs to the homeless sitting outside the doors. Also the ribs were dry amd chewy
Bridgette A — Google review
Saw the sign for this place from the window of the Anchorage Museum. Walked over just to see. I was warmly greeted by two ladies. I told them I don't eat fish, so I was having trouble deciding what to get. They talked up the fish and how good it was. Well, they talked me into trying the AK seafood gumbo. And now I guess I eat fish. It was delicious. One of the waitresses even got me a strip of catfish to try since I told her I'd never eaten it on account of always feeling like fish was gross. The catfish was really tasty! Good food and really friendly staff the day I went in. Roscoe even came out to say hi to me. I'd recommend this place.

Delivery Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Eagle River, just a stone's throw from Anchorage, Pete's Barbecue is a delightful spot for barbecue lovers. With a straightforward menu that highlights an array of sandwiches, diners can indulge in classic barbecue pork and beef options alongside fried chicken and fish sandwiches. Specialty burgers also make an appearance, ensuring there's something for everyone. Regular patrons rave about the mouthwatering ribs and fresh salads that keep them coming back every couple of weeks.
Can't. Get. Enough! 100/10 food, quick delivery, amazing people. There is a 3 dollar gas fee, and a 15 dollar minimum for delivery, if you get a burger with an extra patty you can get the minimum, and a delicious meal for 19 bucks with out a drink. 😋.

Good food, straight forward plates with good selection on the menu, fast friendly service. Carry out only. Convenient location. I'll be returning to try more.

Best hole in the wall burgers in Eagle River, House Burger, ordered with a fried egg is my go to. Price is fair, delivery is always fast. Get a brew at tips and eat in is there only option for "dine in" but if ordering delivery, generally less than 15 minute wait delivered.
Nicho M — Google review
Ordered here... received a pink burger... tried to call them about it they still haven't answered... I can't believe they made me pay for a pink burger let alone there prices are high and they refuse to answer the phone to be addressed about this... im really upset
M.L. S — Google review
Look I'm not trying to be harsh but cooking chicken with 4 bottles of Sweet Baby Ray's in a pot is NOT BBQ. For the price, it's alright. But if you're LOOKING for BBQ specifically, this place ain't it. I wouldn't even call it BBQ. Quick service though...
Antonio R — Google review
Great burgers, fast delivery. Best hole in the wall burger location for the Eagle River area. Their "House Burger" is tip top.
Nicho M — Google review
The quality of the food has gone down hill. I ordered the rib dinner last night and the barbeque sauce was incredibly salty. Furthermore, they gave sample size worth of sides, namely the coleslaw and baked beans. In the past they used to be generous. It's a shame the $20 meal used to be good.
Gabriela G — Google review
We order from here at LEAST once every two weeks. Pretty much always the ribs and salad. We have been doing this for years. Food is great, but you would think after being a very regular customer, that the service would be better. For example- say hello by name when you realize it's the SAME couple making their regular order to the same house. Maybe offer a free dessert or soda? I am big on customer service and although the ribs are great, the service needs to be more friendly.

Barbecue restaurant
Smokehouse BBQ is a popular quick-service restaurant in Anchorage, offering delicious barbecue food in two unique ways. The Shack, designed like a permanent food truck, provides curbside service with picnic tables for patrons to enjoy their meals. Additionally, the Smokehouse BBQ food truck can be scheduled to cater special events. The menu features mouthwatering options such as smoked brisket, pulled pork sandwiches, smoked chicken, pineapple coleslaw, and cowboy fries.
Delicious! Ordered the Cowboy Fries which was a yummy combo of cheese, meat & fries! It was a great amount of food to share. Got a side of potato salad and yummy chili too! You can taste the love in this food! I always try to support small local food joints and wasn’t disappointed by this wonderful little drive thru. It is charmingly decorated and makes you feel like you’re out west while still in the frozen north.
Joanne G — Google review
Nope. $50 sandwich with delivery not close to worth it. Brisket was poorly seasoned and cooked. Both orders of fries were small and mostly burnt ends.
John S — Google review
Holy cow! (Pun not intended but it fits🤩) smoked brisket ✔️ smoked bbq pulled pork sandwich ✔️ smoked chicken ✔️ pineapple coleslaw ✔️ cowboy fries...what?!? Yes! ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ they even have potato salad etc if you are itching for that too.... So I wanted to try a variety of things and sizes to see what they offer and boy howdy do they deliver! Their portion size is by weight and it is huge for the price no skimping on portions here! They even sell their house bbq sauce by the pint so if you want some fresh smoky sweet extra as a gift (that's why I bought one) or just for yourself later I highly recommend getting some! They even tossed in a generous side of smoked meat for my pup who wouldn't stop talking to them as my window rolled down! Thank you so much for his experience and we will be back soon!
Nichole S — Google review
We stopped by and ate at the picnic tables. I had a 1/2 rack of ribs, and my family had Cowboy Fries, Cowgirl Fries and reg fries. All were really good and had enough for a 2nd meal/snack. The ribs had a lot of meat attached above the ribs and were enough for 2+ meals for me. The BBQ sauce is great. Tangy but not too spicy.
DJ C — Google review
Absolutely exceptional. It's a very unassuming drive through hut off the road, but it was incredible. I got a brisket sandwich, side of potato salad and baked beans, and the cowgirl fries and I'm not sure which one tasted better, it was all very good. I will for sure be back. It is a little spendy.
Dan P — Google review
I spent a lot of money on 3 dinner plates and plus the tip. I wasn't to happy with not getting what I ordered. I asked the young boy who was working if their phones work they said it's having problems which they answered the following day. I called to let them know the exact amount I spent and the tip I have for not getting the correct order and missing items. She then got very gruff with me on the phone and started raising her voice. She had me repeat myself 4x. Then she said what do you want me to do about it? I said well refund me or give me the rest of my order. She said. Well why are you calling a day later. I said well I do live north side of town and I just worked a long 9 hour day. I'm not going to drive all the way across town for his mistakes when the phones aren't working. That's why I'm calling today. She then got mad and said well come by for another plate that you've ordered. I even have pictures of the food we got.
Shawnda S — Google review
Looks, Smells, Tastes GREAT. Update: Got to my destination and started partaking. If you like moist brisket, you will love what is being dispensed. If you prefer lean sliced brisket, will be disappointed. Potato Salad is Great.
Mitch M — Google review
I got the Cowboy Fries with extra sauce. It is expensive but a large serving with great flavor. It's definitely worth it. I also got the pineapple coleslaw, which was okay. Poor photo as I devoured most of it prior to taking photo.

Glacier Brewhouse is a lively restaurant with a strong emphasis on wood decor, offering a menu featuring local seafood and wood-grilled meats alongside their own house-brewed beer. The oatmeal stout, served on nitro, presents deep and velvety flavors with subtle notes of coffee and roasted flavors. For an enhanced experience, the oak-aged version aged in Jim Beam barrels offers increased depth of flavor with hints of whiskey and cherry-like fruitiness.
Must do restaurant. Went after Princess Cruise, we beat the crowd but it gets busy. Saturday so had the seafood scramble and it was outstanding! Cheesy grits was my side and also great. Co diner said seafood salad was excellent. Burger and pizza was also good. Didn't try any beers but all hose made. Try it!

We visited this place twice during our trip to Anchorage, and honestly — it’s the best spot in all of Alaska! The food is absolutely outstanding — the halibut is next-level delicious, perfectly cooked and fresh as it gets. The beer selection is on fire 🔥, and the crispy potatoes are simply amazing — the kind of side dish you actually remember! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is super friendly, and everything feels authentic Alaskan. It’s the kind of restaurant where you walk out smiling and already planning to come back. I give it my highest recommendation. If you’re in Anchorage, don’t miss this place — it’s a must-visit!
Сергей Л — Google review
Based on a trolley tour guide recommendation, we stopped in for lunch. An awesome beer selection and a full bar were a nice surprise. We sat at the bar and Heather provided excellent service. She was so pleasant and helpful with menu selections. We started with the calamari (steaks not rings); I had grilled salmon and husband chose shrimp & grits. There were no disappointments with any of our selections.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ We had the opportunity to dine at Glacier Brewhouse while visiting downtown Anchorage, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was inviting, with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Seating was comfortable, and the layout of the restaurant gave it a cozy yet upscale feel. Service was excellent—our server was friendly, attentive, and timely with both orders and refills. The staff handled everything professionally, which added to the positive impression. As for the food, we ordered the fish and chips, which we had been craving throughout our trip. While the fish tasted good, the portion size was underwhelming, especially considering the price point. Coming from South Texas, where fresh seafood is abundant and generously served, we expected a more robust serving—especially this far north where one might assume we’re closer to the source. We understand every region has its standards, but the value didn’t quite align with our expectations, particularly for a dish as classic and simple as fish and chips. That said, Glacier Brewhouse is still worth visiting for the atmosphere and service alone. We might return to try other menu items, but next time, we’ll explore other options for seafood.

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and hoped the 20 minute wait would be worth it. Oh, was it ever! The service, food and atmosphere were excellent!! We started with the pretzel breadsticks fondue, which was so great! My husband got the King Salmon special. He said it was the best salmon he’s ever had and would eat it over having a steak any day! I had the shrimp and grits and I was in awe! They were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had them from Florida to New Orleans and now Alaska and these were amazing! The combination of flavors were incredible! I also added a side of asparagus to my meal. It was grilled and seasoned to perfection! Our server was very attentive and great with recommendations. We will be coming back very soon! I do recommend getting a reservation if you don’t have time to wait. Thankfully, we did and it was well worth it!
Alicia J — Google review
I have always loved Glacier Brewhouse, especially as a place to bring out of town guests for amazing Alaska seafood. Last night I had THE BEST king salmon I’ve had in my entire life. I’ve always received great service. Be warned, it gets loud in this lively restaurant, so it may not be the best place to have a quiet conversation (or, be warned if your dining partners are hard of hearing). But if you want an amazing meal in Alaska, this one is at the top of my list. I do recommend reservations if you’re trying for an evening, weekend meal. I also tried the pickle martini last night for a change up, and if you’re a pickle fan and you love dirty martinis, I’d recommend trying.
Brittany S — Google review
This place was a random stop on a very beautiful Sunday afternoon. The host, the waiter and even the chefs were super friendly here. I ordered a clam chowder and I can say that this was by far the best clam chowder I’ve eaten in my life. This place is a must visit when you’re in Anchorage, Alaska. Thank you guys for the amazing experience! Will be coming back.

Outstanding dinner spot. Lots of delicious seafood options and everything we ate was phenomenal. We both wanted to try the king crab so we got a 10oz add on which was perfect. The appetizer sampler was also a great pick to try a few different appetizer options- I couldn't pick my favorite from the trio. The brewhouse itself also has a great selection of different beers. My favorite was the raspberry wheat. Highly recommend giving this spot a try for a "nicer" dinner in Anchorage.

Rustic Goat is a popular restaurant in Anchorage, known for its warm and industrial-chic ambiance. The menu features a unique twist on American comfort food and craft brews, including pizza, salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, Roasted Game Hen, Dry Aged Rib Eye and more. The restaurant takes pride in its city culture and offers friendly hospitality. It's housed in a building constructed from reclaimed wood from a historic local cannery.
An awesome decor and a great place to eat and have some drinks. Ordered artichoke dip with pita bread. Serving size was generous and it was outstanding. Chicken wings were delicious. The berry salad was a treat. Apple and prosciutto pizza was good with awesome crust. Service was friendly
James Q — Google review
They had menus ready for us to celebrate our anniversary with our names on it. Artichoke appetizer was amazing the bread was fresh and fluffy. Noodles were nice and cheesy. Scallops were a little on the spicy side but good

The Rustic Goat is a must-try! We ordered several dishes. Hummus – I Loved the rustic veggies that topped the hummus. The hummus had that perfect creamy texture. THE HEAT MISER Pizza – Total standout! The crust was soft and flavorful, and the reindeer sausage with caramelized onions made it next-level delicious. Alaskan Scallops – The curry sauce was sooo good—spicy with a nice kick, so be ready for some heat. Shrimp Scampi – Good, but I’d probably skip it next time and try something new. Overall, super tasty with fun flavor combos that make it worth the visit!

During a trip through Alaska, we stayed in Anchorage and decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was really fun and lively. We had to wait a bit before being seated, but only like 10min. There were 3 people in my party and we all got different dishes. They all looked and tasted so good that we all shared some of our food. We also tested multiple desserts and they were also amazing and tasted so fresh! The waitress was also really helped and gave us the run down of the menu. We found out that the chef actually makes changes to and updates the menu based on the season, and it really makes a difference in the quality of the food. Overall we had a really good time and impressed with the food.
Christian S — Google review
Our dinners were great - drunken clams with reindeer sausage and pork sausage, and the pasta. Off the charts flavorful. We could not get a table reservation so we ate at the bar. The negatives - the pita bread was under done and had to be sent back and still was not cooked enough on the second try either. So bummed that All the beer taps were not operational so draft beer was a bust. The bartender/server, Adam, seemed nice but almost too busy vs attentive for our needs. So, it was a 5 on food and a 3 on some other things. VictorB

Rustic Goat is hands down the most comforting food and atmosphere in town. I’ve lived in Anchorage my whole life and can’t say enough how fortunate our neighborhood is to have Chef Frazer and his staff. They genuinely care about not only cooking good food, but caring for their customers and each other. A rare find of compassionate, relaxed and caring staff, and the most divine food. Our biggest stressor is deciding what to get: it’s all so good. If it’s your first time the clams and sausage are to die for, their wings are our favorite ever, the nachos are always perfect and you can never go wrong with the specials or a steak. Don’t miss out on desert either!

I went for my birthday since it was one of the few "fancy" places open on Tuesdays. They printed out personalized birthday menus which was so cute and it's half off of dessert for birthdays. I got the elk, thai lettuce wraps, and creme brulee and both were very good. My boyfriend got the Kalbi bowl. If I had one slight complaint, its that the creme brulee tasted kind of burnt, like they torched it a little too long. But everything else was good
Chris B — Google review
I tried the chicken pizza and it was delicious, although there were only a few options to customize it. The Thai chili wings were very good as well. The only downside was the wait time. We were told it would be about twenty minutes but it ended up being closer to forty five. It was raining, so that might have caused some delays. Overall, the food was tasty and I would recommend visiting

Bombay Deluxe Indian Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem nestled in Anchorage, Alaska, serving up an array of authentic Indian dishes since 2005. With its cozy wood-paneled dining room, guests can indulge in flavorful curries, tandoori specialties, and aromatic biryani. The restaurant offers a tempting lunch buffet that showcases the best of Indian cuisine.
One of the best Indian food restaurants in all of Anchorage, food was excellent, we had grill platter and non veggie thali, masala tea and a dessert. Our server Sai was wonderful, very courteous.

I’m not usually someone who writes reviews, but I thought this might help others looking for good food in the area. We ordered the Taal Tadkha and Garlic Shrimp, and really enjoyed both dishes. The shrimp was cooked just the way I expected, with a spice level between mild and hot. It tasted even better when paired with Rice. You can try Veg pakora too with chat masala on side. I’d definitely recommend this place to any South Indians visiting the area who are craving authentic and flavorful Indian food
Ranadeep D — Google review
I ordered the vegetable momo because I am a vegetarian (I have Crohn's Disease) and they sent me chicken momo, when I called I was told they were closed and would have to wait until tomorrow. Very upsetting that I have to skip dinner as my body cannot handle meat. I have been a customer for years and we love the cuisine as there are plenty of vegetarian options with little to no spice that are easy on my intestines. I am quite upset with the answer I got, I understand it is late but I feel there could have been a better resolution. This is for the Southside location.

The food was good! Small but cozy, with good servers, average price and generous portions of meals.

Tried a couple of their VCC dishes, the Chickpea Salad & the Stuffed Mushrooms. I love that they are participating in this challenge, I'll definitely be back to try some of their main dishes

Indian Delight in the Heart of Alaska! We dined here during our summer trip, and the experience was excellent. The owner was friendly and welcoming, service was prompt, and the food was flavorful and authentic. Portions were on the smaller side, but that’s understandable given the remote location and the limited availability of Indian ingredients in the area. Overall, a must-visit if you’re craving Indian food in Alaska!

Went here right after landing in Anchorage. I am from Bombay and was surprised to see this restaurant in Anchorage. They had a buffet and good food overall. I would highly recommend going here if you are looking for Indian food in Anchorage.

It is a great Indian food restaurant that is conveniently located in midtown. I love the Bhindi Masala. Full of flavor and brought out quickly. The service there is amazing. They're happy to work with dietary restrictions. I am a plant-based eater who doesn't eat garlic or onion. Comfortable booths and a nice atmosphere. Thank you 🙏🏽

Barbecue restaurant
Turnagain Arm Pit BBQ is a must-visit spot along the highway from Seward to Anchorage, AK. The atmosphere is fantastic, and you'll have the chance to meet some friendly locals who clearly love their community. The all-meat chili and pulled pork sandwich are highly recommended, as well as the house-made banana pudding with fresh-cut bananas. The smell of delicious barbecue hits you as soon as you walk in, and the views of the water are stunning.
What a day for a drive. Never been here before. I had the all meat Chilli and my friend hard the pulled pork sandwich. I also had some house made banana pudding with fresh cut bananas cut on it to order.. Just a great atmosphere. Got to meet some neat people. Could tell the locals there love if to. Go have a good time and enjoy some amazing bbq... don't forget to pick up a pair of thete sunglasses or grab a shirt.

Had dinner at turnagain armpit Anchorage Alaska. Nice place, clean, service was a bit slow but the food was great. Will definitely come again before I leave Alaska. Had the curly fries with the BBQ ribs off of the appetizers section of the menu. Little price for just three ribs but most things in Alaska go for a bit more than they should most days. They were cooked well, seasoned and the presentation was nice. Server/waiter was a nice guy, just slow also assumed our entire table of 8 was on one bill. We straightened it out just took a little extra time. Experience started off great and ended with being just good. The place wasn't busy at all, seating wasn't an issue and neither was ambiance. Nice large flat screen in the dining and bar areas. Ambiance music the entire time wasn't too loud or obnoxious. I do recommend this place.
J. S — Google review
Stopped by to pick up some sides for dinner at Turnagain Arm Pit tonight, fried pickles and okra, some slaw, cornbread and Mac & cheese. The food here has always been great, if you like barbecue you’ll love what they have to offer. Their sweet tea makes your teeth hurt in the best way. They are offering pick up (either call ahead or drop in ordering) and they also have a handful of tables set up on their deck. The view of the Arm is spectacular from there, so if you are lucky enough to get a table it will be a great treat. I had a nice chat with Jennifer while I was waiting, she’s worked at the restaurant for nearly 7 years now. Covid has been hard on our restaurants, especially those that are a bit out of the way and generally catering to tourists as well as locals. Consider making a drive down to help support them, even if you don’t get a table...one thing the Seward Highway is not short on are perfect spots to picnic!
Robin D — Google review
A great place to stop off and grab lunch or to go drink. The place smells absolutely heavenly when you walk in. Stop in when I left Seward on my way back to Anchorage, AK. They have beautiful views of the water. Wish I had more time to sample all the things on the menu. Right off the main highway

Had the brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Both were very good but the roll actually lessens the overall taste and experience. The roll makes the meat seem dry, but it isn't. It is very tasty, especially with the selection of BBQ sauces they offer at the table. Service was great, professional and wonderfully courteous.
Bill M — Google review
Good BBQ for Alaska. Juicy and flavorful pulled pork, moist cornbread, decent Mac and cheese. The ribs had good flavor but were a little dry, as was the brisket. I recommend trying everything with the mustard BBQ sauce. If you are around for brunch, the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The biscuits and gravy was tasty, but wasn’t served with enough gravy.

Fantastic service and food. Great view of Turnagain Arm from outdoor deck. Great place to stop on your way to or from Seward, Kenai or Whittier. Good selection of beer. Everyone one in our group and of 4 enjoyed their meal

Ding How Mongolian BBQ is a delightful culinary destination that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This Anchorage gem specializes in tantalizing Mongolian cuisine, offering a unique blend of all-you-can-eat buffet options alongside a grill where you can customize your meal to perfection. Diners rave about the freshness and quality of the food, ensuring that no one leaves feeling hungry! The atmosphere is casual and inviting, making it perfect for both solo diners and groups looking to enjoy hearty meals together.
10/24/23- I went for lunch. My buddy was intimidated by the sign, so she did not eat comfortable. She felt a lot of pressure that she would not finish her food. As for me I didn't mind. I enjoyed the food they have out. It was all fresh. The Mongolian is nice but the cook didn't season it as well or it was missing an ingredient. I like my food spicy and it wasn't. It's a good back up to the line. The service is great! Nice ladies at the front. They keep your drink filled and I enjoyed them.
Ya S — Google review
Stopped in for lunch with my family at my daughter’s request, and we were pleasantly surprised. This all-you-can-eat buffet offers great value for the price. The variety of Chinese dishes and Mongolian BBQ ingredients was impressive, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Perfect spot for a casual, satisfying meal.

I came in there and was 2nd customer of the day. I’m a construction worker and I came in in my sweats and rain boots. I felt judged and then I sat and ate. I felt like the service was fine but I felt like they thought I wasn’t going to pay. After drinking my Soda I found multiple flies in my Soda. I was disgusted and couldn’t eat anymore. I had a friend that was coming to join me I called him off. I told them and they didn’t give me any money off and charged me like greedy restaurant people would. I will never be back. Don’t go eat here they aren’t clean. Go to Twin Dragon.

This was the first place I visited to have a meal on my first trip to Anchorage. My first impression was of the care and comfortable feeling of the place. I was welcomed, grabbed a bowl and began making a pile of ingredients I liked. The cook took time to ask how I liked my sauces and gave his kind approval. I was seated and took in the ambiance of the place while my food was cooked on the flat iron. I noticed locals coming in and realized I missed some protocol, get seated first and then go up! I also noticed folks excitement and eagerness to be there. People asking for their favorite booth, couples excited for their date nights. The meal was perfectly cooked, I'd go back a thousand times just to have the same thing again. If I went back a second time however, I'd try the hot side buffet. They ask that folks only take what they can eat, so I dutifully returned an empty bowl. See photos for how Ding How greets travelers in Anchorage. Personally I couldn't have asked for a better introduction. Thank you Ding How!

DING HOW! Mongolian BBQ. Whew! You never leave this place hungry whatsoever! In fact I am full the rest of the day after this place! It is good!! Mongolian BBQ and a buffet next to it as well. I mean it is genius! Best of my two favorite worlds!! All you can eat buffet and Mongolian grill! Wow!!! There is also a salad bar but why bother with such! There is too much other real food!! Check out my photos and get a feel for the two sides of all you can eat wonder!! If you can handle some spice then do so!! Price is not terrible you just are satisfied all around. There is fresh fruit and ice cream which I applaud them in having. My kids love that part and I did too. The people that run it are friendly! Oh and don’t be intimidated by their signage on the table. Just actually eat your food! Eat what you dish up!

I moved from the Abbott area to Muldoon about 4 years ago. Every time I drive pass this place, I mention to my wife that we should try it. She always says no. She's not big on, all you can eat restaurants. Today I was running errands with my son, and asked him if he'd like to go to Ding How. So we did. Everyone we interacted with was great. Yes there is a sign on every table, to not waste food. I agree with the owners. If the Royal Fork had signs like this, they might still be in business. Ding How was clean and the food was good! The two of us were pleasantly surprised!
Dedrick P — Google review
Sometimes we are greeted when we walk in. We always get to a table fast. Food is hot and delish, very small selection but my fave or the mushroom and the fried chicken. My kids love the sesame chicken. If you dont eat everything you get you pay 7.00 extra its the wasteful food fee. We come here alot ever since they have new cook. Come and give it a try.
Heidi S — Google review
Used to go here periodically when I lived in Anchorage. Prices have gone up substantially in 15-years! Food was still pretty decent, but the building, booths, tables, etc. are pretty worn out. They need some upgrades! Service was good. It's a quick fix for Asian food.

Tito's Gyros and Roscoe's Catfish and Barbeque is a delightful culinary gem that brings the heart of southern comfort food to Anchorage. This cozy spot offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, from classic fried chicken and ribs to delectable gyros, burgers, and hot dogs. The menu also features beloved sides like homemade macaroni & cheese, collard greens, and sweet potato pie—perfect for those craving a taste of the South.
Small place that has both Gyros and BBQ... So I didn't anticipate it being this good. The food was great! Service was excellent. Gumbo was expensive but worth it! Best I ever had. My friend had ribs and they were spectacular.
Ty B — Google review
My mom originally wanted a gyro so I suggested Tito's Gyros which is also called Roscoe's, same location. We came in and we can smell BBQ which smelt amazing! We both got a pulled pork sandwich and it was excellent, it's served with coleslaw on top. The meat is smoked which makes it even better! I 10/10 recommend this place!!
Katherine P — Google review
They are not fast took 10 min to order. The gyro is an absolute abomination. The meat is a lamb beef hybrid that i failed to understand. The taste was not right either. French fries were ho hum. Not worth it and certainly not authentic. Will only return for the catfish.
Ash K — Google review
Inside a larger soul food restaurant, this hole in the wall has friendly staff, a great owner, and really solid food. Just coming in the smell was fantastic. Service was a bit slow, but the quality of the gyro makes me want to come back soon.
Matthew B — Google review
Disappointed...Titos Gyros is close to my office so when I forgot a lunch I though I'd give them a try. $8.00 for a hamburger A La Carte isn't the best price but it wasn't the worst either. I put in my order paid, tipped and sat down to wait. I wasn't offered water or anything, but I wasn't upset and didn't ask. No big deal. I sat for about 25 minutes before politely asking about my burger. After another couple minutes I saw my server ask about it and find out it wasn't made. She didn't tell me this I overheard. She quickly tired to tell the cook to make it, but at this point my lunch was over and I asked for it to be canceled because I didn't have time to wait. She gave me my money back, short of the tip which I asked for because I didn't actually get anything. The cook apologized very nicely and let me know the order wasn't put in. The server also apologized. Probably not going to try the place again.
Chelsy P — Google review
We ordered 2 gyros to go, paid and husband sat for over an hour waiting. When the waitress came back (an hour later) she asked what he was still doing there.??? He said i still haven't received my food and she replied oh I forgot to put your order in. But she didn't forget to take our money! while we had 3 children waiting this whole time outside in the car, as I came in and said just give us our money back the owner came up and told me to relax because the waitress made only a mistake they acted like they didn't see my husband sitting there waiting for our food but when I demanded my money they finally noticed us !!! I do not recommend this place to anyone and we are never again going back there!
UWISH — Google review
AKA: Roscoe's has the best Philly cheese steak sandwich! I cannot even describe how perfectly the bread was toasted, it had the perfect toasted crunch! The homemade fries were amazing! My wife had a plate from the sides menu, homemade macaroni & cheese, collard greens, fried okra, cornbread and butter, with a sweet tea. Our son had a lamb and beef gyro with a superb thick tsziki sauce with onion rings! My wife is going back for a gyro tomorrow.
J D — Google review
If you love comfort food, especially southern comfort food, then this is your place. They have all the southern staples including fried chicken, ribs, biscuits and cornbread, as well as sweet ice tea. They also have bbq, peach cobbler, and sweet potato pie. In addition, they have gyros, burgers, and dawgs. All are reasonably priced and the only drawback is that the restaurant is really small with limited seating. We had good service and the food was deliscious. I would highly recommend it.

If you're a fan of budget-friendly dining, the Costco Food Court is a must-visit! Known for its unbeatable prices and delicious offerings, this spot serves up everything from mouthwatering hot dogs to some of the best chain pizza around. The friendly staff are always ready to assist, making your experience even more enjoyable. While most meals hit the mark with great quality, there can be occasional hiccups—like frozen salads—but their hassle-free return policy ensures you leave satisfied.
Joseph was very kind, genuine and eagerly helpful with our unusual pizza order. Hope to see more Alaskan kindness back at home in California.

Gotta love costco pizza, can't say the organization process is very great but I suppose the price and food make up for it

I normally love the food here its cheap and usually great! Today though my salad was frozen and the chicken in it tasted gross they gave me the choice of different food or my money back with no problems and that makes all the difference. I recommend this place for quick cheap food.

I love going to Costco! Prices there are excellent and we have options of buying whole or not. Love the hot dogs. Employees are always helpful and courteous! Love the employees in their lil spots, letting ys have taste tests. Love the prices of good quality clothing, coats, jackets, shoes n socks, etc.

I went back to the food court and this is the second negative experience I have had recently. I ordered a Acai berry cup after reading the sign that mentioned the fact almonds were in the granola. It did not mention the fact there are banana chips in the granola as well. I am allergic to banana and I had an allergic reaction I am luck this time that my Aunt lives so close to the store. The only thing they did to respond to my allergic response was to refund me the money I spent on the Acai cup and advise me to order it without granola next time. I was greatly disappointed with the general lack of concern.
