1Old Knik River Iron Bridge

Historical landmark
Old Knik River Bridge is a popular spot for outdoor activities and sightseeing. The area around the bridge offers a man-made swimming hole, ATV and 4x4 trails that lead to Kinik Valley, and the base of Kinik Glacier. Visitors can enjoy walking along the flat bridge over the rushing river and may even find geocaches. The location is ideal for taking pictures in the summer, but parking may be limited in winter.
Easy drive from Anchorage to get far enough away from its light dome to do Aurora photography. The bridge has a pull off on either end to park and walk the bridge.
Zach H — Google review
Grand old bridge amongst stunning mountains. If you drive here to see this then I recommend also going to the public use area down on the river.
Teejay A — Google review
A neat bridge to walk. There's a bit of art on the bridge to keep it interesting.
Iceman — Google review
Fun off the beaten path place for good river and mountain views. Easy access on either side of the river.
Matthew ( — Google review
Beautiful little walk. There are trails at the end of the bridge. I was just visiting. So, I didn't venture further.
L D — Google review
Loved it, can be a bit chilly, bring a sweater, the wind blows along the river. But it's definitely nice to stop and walk through If you are just driving between palmer/wasilla and Anchorage. I've done that drive so many times and never went here, wish I had gone before.
David — Google review
Views worth the trip!
Darrin L — Google review
I can't really say much about the bridge other than, yup it's an old bridge. How ever what happens under the bridge and around it is a blast. With man-made swimming hole just a mile up river on the river road. And the endless atv and 4x4 trails that literally start right under this old bridge. And they go all the way to the head of kinik valley and stop at the bottom of kinik glaser

Mental health clinic
Family practice physician
Psychiatrist

While specializing in outpatient treatment, the facility ensures that individuals requiring additional care such as medically assisted detox or inpatient treatment are promptly referred to qualified nearby facilities. I've been a client for several years. I have great respect for the staff & my therapist. They are accommodating and the waiting room is spread out & roomy so you're not bunched together like a can of sardines. I enjoy the extras they add, like the gorgeous plants, calming diffusers, light music...I love this place. I look forward to my appointments.
A E — Google review
Buyer beware. Clinic requires two visits that are starting at at least $450 each prior to deductible being met. They are not very good at returning calls or reaching out to you for scheduling. I had previous history of medication, but it was disregarded
Jesse E — Google review
This Kaylen Kelley is one of the folks you'll get if you go here. These photos are a good example of how she treats people. So go here at your own risk. I certainly wouldn't want to pay someone to treat me this way.
J. A — Google review
I have been receiving therapy at this facility for a year now, and I am pleased with the progress that my therapist and I have made in improving my mental health. My therapist takes the time to explain difficult mental health concepts to me and assigns me homework to help me cope better with my anxiety. The staff and faculty at Bridges are exceptional, and the front desk is always willing to assist me whenever I need help.
Konikkiwa — Google review
I called in distress..and everything I received was repeated in every aspect in regards to the help I received from the psychiatrist and regards to administrative aspects and the doctor just don't expect anything.. I had an anxiety, depression,PTSD,ect. Had an amazing Dr. and therapist they left and really don't feel like this is a good place not based off of those doctors but seriously my best friend said she was going to end her life and they said call 911 and hung up. Really? Wow make her an appointment and give her a starting point that doesn't start with what is your insurance this is why people lose everything including their life she called for help sorry it inconveniences your facility.
Amber D — Google review
My experience is not like the bad reviews I have read. I filled out the information on the online form and received a call the next day. Our intake appointment was in 2 weeks. We were matched in 5 days with a therapist. I was able to schedule both the med management and therapy the following day when I called. I was able to schedule weekly appointments for the following 3 months after the initial evaluation.
Claudia L — Google review
I’ve been coming here for a few years now and used to say I loved this place. However, what I really loved are the providers I found here both of which have left this agency now for different reasons for each but both reasons are basically related to administration incompetence. I think that the poor administration & billing staff has caused them to lose great providers and I am now just fed up with the issues here and very upset with how I have been treated since my last provider for medication management left just last fall 2022. I was once billed incorrectly and had to call back several different times and talk to several different people to get it resolved. I also was told very suddenly on the day on my appointment that my insurance would not cover me for seeing 2 different providers at the same office in one day (I was seeing both my therapist and a psychiatrist for medication management). I had been here for years and was never told that before and I feel like this would be important information to tell clients when scheduling. These were both minor issues I overlooked when I had 2 providers I loved here but now that my therapist is relocating and with the issues I’ve had with the new psychiatrist here, I will never be returning here! When my last psychiatrist left Bridges it was very suddenly where I was only notified the day before my appointment and then had to schedule with a new provider at the office. The new provider has been a bit rude in the first visit and then again in the second visit where she refused to re-prescribe me depression medication I was previously on until I got some labs done for her (even though I have had labs many many times that never show any kind of problem they are always “normal”) She requested I do the labs during our visit in early December and before I was to see her again in January. Well being someone with Depression and ADD, I struggle with staying on top of tasks and even leaving my house some days and especially have trouble during the holidays. So I procrastinated on the labs knowing that I want to go look for a new provider outside of Bridges anyways, up until I realized I am about to run out of medication. So I make a follow up appointment to just refill my current meds to hold me over and she outright refused to see me or write me a refill prescription because I didn’t do the labs requested (however the labs were not even requested in order to continue current meds? they were requested to be done before being given new meds). I have seen several providers in the past where issues like this has happened (I forgot to get the labs requested or even forgot to make an appointment) and I have always been able to get a refill on current medications to prevent the dangerous health reactions that can occur when suddenly stopping mental health medication. I am shocked by the level of callousness that I am being treated with by this new provider and the front desk staff in not caring about protecting my mental health. Not sure what I am going to do to get my necessary medications probably have to visit an emergent care but I know one thing for sure I will never be returning here!
Cassy L — Google review
Nice people, but I did their paperwork 3 times. Online, before my appointment and during my appointment. I told the provider that I did the paperwork already but he said he wants to hear it himself, so I could have saved myself about an hour total but no, I had to do the paperwork 3 times. When I called saying I needed refills because my provider said he would refill them, they said he couldn't refill the prescriptions because he didn't prescribe them. That and my "30 minute appointments" are always 2 1/2 hours"

4Alaska Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing

State government office
The Alaska Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing website is user-friendly and has received positive feedback for its helpful customer service. Despite some lower reviews, many users have not thought to rate the division, assuming others with positive experiences may have done the same. Overall, it seems that the division is doing a great job in assisting its users.
The website for SOA Corporations is easy to use, and everyone I've talked with every time I've needed help has been amazing, so I was pretty amazed to see the lower reviews. It never occurred to me to "rate" the Corporations division, and I'm guessing that's how everyone else who has had a good experience has thought (or not thought) as well. I'd say, Keep up the great work! Thanks!
Trish M — Google review
Very rude and unprofessional office staff. All they care about if sending you off to someone else. It’s a shame that this state is so great but manages to hire awful workers for a department that requires the ability to help and guide people looking to get licensed.
Andrea B — Google review
Very rude lady at the front of the office with such sarcasm towards me as being a contractor will be sending off a complaint and hoping it will be dealt with as seeing other reviews with the same person. She was blaming me that they can not get their jobs done to check the status of my contractor license as been 32 days was told 10-20 days. Just uancceptable behavior from her she would not give me her name as the other person in office.
Ricky D — Google review
Probably one of the worst boards of nursing I have dealt with. NO follow-up--under the guise of the COVID-19 crisis. Months to process nursing application. Antiquated and inefficient nursing application process. If you make the slightest error--including forgetting to sign or date a form prepare for MONTHS of delay.
James E — Google review
Very long hold times, and on several occasions after holding for a while it sounds like someone picks up the phone without saying anything and hangs it up.. I've had to call multiple times for issues on processing a business license and have been given incorrect information on what to put on the form every time, I've had to pay a $25 fee to correct the information.
Tonya B — Google review
I have been trying to get a hold of them for a month now and no one will return my calls or emails. Very frustrating. I'm just wanting my license to go through already so I can contribute to YOUR state!
Natalie B — Google review
Completely ridiculous customer service. No attention to detail. Complete joke of a state entity. It is very apparent that they just want your money, there is no professionalism, no follow through. Only headaches.
Se W — Google review
Man on the phone Kerry was curious and help full tried to go in and get a lic woman at counter was unhelpful an un interested in doing her job just making up reasons to not give a lic.

Hiking area
Hidden Lake is a stunning destination for those seeking an adventurous hike in Anchorage. Spanning approximately 9.4 miles roundtrip, this trail offers a moderate challenge as it weaves through rugged terrain and features an elevation gain of about 1,000 feet. Starting from the Glen Alps Trailhead, hikers will follow the Powerline Pass Trail for the first 2.5 miles before descending into a picturesque valley where they’ll cross a charming bridge.
A beautiful walk/hike to a lovely alpine lake! Easy to follow trail.
Jared R — Google review
Lots of fun. We went to the lake and saw 6 mountain goats. 10mi round trip. Took approximately 5 hrs
Denis M — Google review
Fantastic trail back to alpine lake. Approach on power line is a bit long if you hike but 15-30 minutes if you run
Clay J — Google review
A truly wonderful hike and great place for a picnic!
Getter D — Google review
Great views, incredible flora, good place to camp for a night. Trails on map not super accurate.
Lynette W — Google review
Nice hike. The lake is definitely hidden. If you have a bike I would recommend bringing it. There is a long flat rod that is a couple miles long you can ride until bridge when you start really going uphill.
Ryan F — Google review
The last mile is a steady climb up to the alpine lake. The Ramp trail climbs in parallel and then branches off just before the lake. I’m not sure there are many camping spots at the lake and is fairly rocky.
Ethan P — Google review
