We visited this place twice during our trip to Anchorage, and honestly — it’s the best spot in all of Alaska! The food is absolutely outstanding — the halibut is next-level delicious, perfectly cooked and fresh as it gets. The beer selection is on fire 🔥, and the crispy potatoes are simply amazing — the kind of side dish you actually remember! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is super friendly, and everything feels authentic Alaskan. It’s the kind of restaurant where you walk out smiling and already planning to come back. I give it my highest recommendation. If you’re in Anchorage, don’t miss this place — it’s a must-visit!

Based on a trolley tour guide recommendation, we stopped in for lunch. An awesome beer selection and a full bar were a nice surprise. We sat at the bar and Heather provided excellent service. She was so pleasant and helpful with menu selections. We started with the calamari (steaks not rings); I had grilled salmon and husband chose shrimp & grits. There were no disappointments with any of our selections.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ We had the opportunity to dine at Glacier Brewhouse while visiting downtown Anchorage, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was inviting, with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Seating was comfortable, and the layout of the restaurant gave it a cozy yet upscale feel. Service was excellent—our server was friendly, attentive, and timely with both orders and refills. The staff handled everything professionally, which added to the positive impression. As for the food, we ordered the fish and chips, which we had been craving throughout our trip. While the fish tasted good, the portion size was underwhelming, especially considering the price point. Coming from South Texas, where fresh seafood is abundant and generously served, we expected a more robust serving—especially this far north where one might assume we’re closer to the source. We understand every region has its standards, but the value didn’t quite align with our expectations, particularly for a dish as classic and simple as fish and chips. That said, Glacier Brewhouse is still worth visiting for the atmosphere and service alone. We might return to try other menu items, but next time, we’ll explore other options for seafood.

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and hoped the 20 minute wait would be worth it. Oh, was it ever! The service, food and atmosphere were excellent!! We started with the pretzel breadsticks fondue, which was so great! My husband got the King Salmon special. He said it was the best salmon he’s ever had and would eat it over having a steak any day! I had the shrimp and grits and I was in awe! They were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had them from Florida to New Orleans and now Alaska and these were amazing! The combination of flavors were incredible! I also added a side of asparagus to my meal. It was grilled and seasoned to perfection! Our server was very attentive and great with recommendations. We will be coming back very soon! I do recommend getting a reservation if you don’t have time to wait. Thankfully, we did and it was well worth it!

I have always loved Glacier Brewhouse, especially as a place to bring out of town guests for amazing Alaska seafood. Last night I had THE BEST king salmon I’ve had in my entire life. I’ve always received great service. Be warned, it gets loud in this lively restaurant, so it may not be the best place to have a quiet conversation (or, be warned if your dining partners are hard of hearing). But if you want an amazing meal in Alaska, this one is at the top of my list. I do recommend reservations if you’re trying for an evening, weekend meal. I also tried the pickle martini last night for a change up, and if you’re a pickle fan and you love dirty martinis, I’d recommend trying.

This place was a random stop on a very beautiful Sunday afternoon. The host, the waiter and even the chefs were super friendly here. I ordered a clam chowder and I can say that this was by far the best clam chowder I’ve eaten in my life. This place is a must visit when you’re in Anchorage, Alaska. Thank you guys for the amazing experience! Will be coming back.

Outstanding dinner spot. Lots of delicious seafood options and everything we ate was phenomenal. We both wanted to try the king crab so we got a 10oz add on which was perfect. The appetizer sampler was also a great pick to try a few different appetizer options- I couldn't pick my favorite from the trio. The brewhouse itself also has a great selection of different beers. My favorite was the raspberry wheat. Highly recommend giving this spot a try for a "nicer" dinner in Anchorage.

The security guard at the Museum of Natural History gave us a recommendation. So we arrived at your restaurant on the recommendation of Kelvin. From the time we were seated until the time we left the restaurant we were treated in nothing less than Grand fashion. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with offering recommendations on appetizers as well as entrees. Her recommendations were spot on. The calamari for an appetizer. The smoked Cherry single batch Bourbon drink as well as a blueberry mojito. They were mixed to perfection. The halibut cheeks as well as the black cod were cooked to perfection and definitely to our liking. The sides were absolutely delicious. Easily one of our better meals we had during our two-week stay in Alaska. We certainly appreciate the recommendation, we certainly appreciate the attentiveness of our server and the quality of the food served. We will definitely return when an Anchorage again

This was probably our best meal in Anchorage. We couldn’t get a reservation in the main room so we ate in the bar. It was a great option as we had a great view and a great server - Lacey! Don’t let the unpretentious front fool you. The Smoke&Bourbon drink was cool and delicious, and the beer and wine were great. The calamari was tasty albeit a bit heavy on the breading. Excellent crab stuffed halibut which was big enough to split! Really enjoyed the short walk to get here from downtown. This is not one to miss. VictorB

Amazing restaurant in Anchorage. If you can’t get a reservation, you can sit open seating in the bar which we did. A lot of seating in the bar, including overlooking the water. Get there early if you want those seats. Service in the bar area was excellent. The sourdough bread that came to the table was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful and the Caesar salad was very good. A lot of lemon in the Caesar dressing, but it really turned out well. Got the halibut cheeks and I’ve never had halibut this good. You could tell it was incredibly fresh and the texture was amazing as it was prepared perfectly.

Came here on a week day for early dinner, it was packed, so family and I had to take the Saloon area. While it was cozy, it was terribly noisy and busy. Food was ok, nothing special really, (the calamari was chewy), definitely overpriced. The drinks however were great, could’ve had more if the bar had more staff (again terribly busy), and our server was nice. Not worth the visit in my opinion, solid 3 stars.

Excellent place on the first floor of three-story office building. Weight staff and service was top-notch from the drink never running empty to the warm bread served before the meal.. beautiful views facing the harbor. There was four of us and we each ordered four different meals and the seafood was perfectly cooked.. I would highly recommend this place, but it is pricey.

I have visited several of the longstanding restaurants in downtown Anchorage, and this establishment distinguishes itself as a venue of genuine fine cuisine. The dishes were refined, flavorful, and thoughtfully composed, reflecting the expertise of a skilled chef. Service was exemplary, with our server, Andrew, providing attentive and professional care throughout the evening. The only shortcoming was the crème brûlée, which did not meet the same high standard as the rest of the meal. However, as it was graciously offered on a complimentary basis, this minor imperfection did not detract from the overall experience. The restaurant also offers a remarkable view, which enhanced the ambiance considerably. In sum, I was thoroughly pleased with the experience and would confidently recommend this restaurant as one of the premier dining options in downtown Anchorage!

6 of us were on a trip and looked online for a nice seafood restaurant. This place came promising, we tried booking. Not available for the same day. Still we went there for a dinner on a Wednesday. Place was full so we got our place near the bar. I will say I was not impressed as the online Google rating was. The table looked clean but needed a second touch. When ordering, they said we just ran out of that fish. Balance orders came. However, we had to ask and wait for the plates and cutlery. As to the calamari, it was more breadcrumbs and fried. On a positive note they helped us share food. All the issues maybe because of overwhelming busyness. Not a bad place to try.

Over the top food and drinks, artfully crafted to mimic an Upscale LA or NY experience. Very nice for special occasions. Modern food, incredibly attentive service with stellar recommendations. I’d term it posh but not pretentious in style, quite nice without feeling too fancy- well worth going at least once

amazing service and food! i went in for a solo dinner right when they opened and the staff was very sweet and attentive. i started with the tuna over crispy rice and it was very flavorful and a generous amount of tuna. the rice was the perfect texture, crispy but just soft enough to pair with the tuna. the steak frites was delicious. my steak cooked perfectly rare and the fries tasted very fresh. the banana foster cheesecake egg rolls were the perfect dessert. like actually insane once the server put them on my table it only took her like 3 minutes to take my cleared plate. i ordered them with vanilla ice cream which i highly suggest.

Great downtime-Anchorage dining experience with delicious, Asian-fusion food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. The restaurant offers many gluten-free and vegetarian options on the menu.

The dish I got was the scallop Mac and cheese and what a treat. Not nearly as overtly oily as it might suggest with the addition of peppers. My aunt got the green curry which she loved. Fair warning the hot sauce they make in house is HOT but so flavorful. Fantastic evening. Worth the money.

Love the vibe and Vietnam style dishes, especially the curry beef one. Although waited for quite long, but services were very nice and accommodating!

Ginger was exceptional from start to finish. The general tso’s fried chicken was the best meal! Hit every note and was plated beautifully. Definitely recommend Ginger!

This is a famous breakfast place in Anchorage. You can call in and get your name on the waiting list which is a great idea. Went there on a Sunday and it was really crowded. We literally waited almost 2 hours for a table.! Weather for breakfast, but really ate lunch. Went there for the crab Benedict and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely amazing. Huge portions, especially the hashbrowns. Dee was our server and she was amazing and incredibly cute. The hostess staff were incredibly patient, considering the stress of how crowded it was and how many people were waiting. They will call or text you when your name comes up if you leave your phone number.

I was recommended this place while in town. I have found the food in Anchorage to be hit or miss… This was a hit. I came in during a breakfast rush on a Friday. The wait was long, so I scoped out the counter area and when a couple people left, I grabbed a seat. The service was fast. They made me a delicious latte that was served quickly as I mulled over my breakfast choices. I chose the biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and a side of bacon. Even the orange they used as a garnish was delicious! The biscuits and gravy were a perfect texture and had a good amount of biscuit to gravy. The hashbrowns and bacon were both excellent. I had left leftovers and heated them up for lunch later in the day and the biscuits were still great!

Very popular at breakfast time. We did not have to wait for a table, but it got busy quick. The food was delicious. Service was great. The atmosphere was fun and quirky.

Such a fun vibe! The staff here is incredible and super friendly. The food is top notch! If you are in Anchorage and looking for a breakfast/brunch spot.....make time to come. Get on the wait list or definately have time....we were here a couple of times during our week in Anchorage and saw up to 45-ish min of wait and other times just sat right down. We had coffees from here a few times and breakfast that was fresh and so tasty. The stuffed French toast with berries...I nearly licked the plate...we also got the egg Benny with a bonus stack that was just yummy Yummy Yummy! Every bite was tasty!

Snow City Café absolutely lives up to its reputation as Anchorage’s #1 brunch spot! I stopped in for breakfast and quickly realized why the place was packed so reservations are definitely the way to go. I sat at the counter and had the pleasure of being served by Deenju, who was fantastic in helping with selections (though, let’s be honest, when it comes to sticky buns, how much encouragement does one really need?). I tried the half-and-half Benedict, one classic and one with smoked salmon, and while both were delicious, the smoked salmon Benedict was hands-down my favorite. The sticky bun was a must, rich and gooey, and worth every bite. The hardest part of the morning was simply deciding what to order, because the entire menu looked incredible. The energy inside was upbeat, the service top-notch, and the food outstanding. If you’re in Anchorage, this place is a can’t-miss. I’d say it was love at first bite and the start of a beautiful friendship.

Great food, great Mimosas, and great atmosphere. Mariah was our favorite! ALWAYS smiling and so friendly and professional. She's an employee every company would dream to have. Take care of her- she's a keeper! Be prepared to wait. What many people I think didn't realize is when the bar opens up you can sit there first come - first served. We were on the list to wait at least an hour but as soon as the bar opened up we sat right down. We also got their delicious coffee while we waited as they also have a coffee bar in the waiting area. So far, the best place we've found for breakfast in Anchorage. I'm told during the summer there's a line around the block to get in so we got lucky coming in late September!

Food is absolutely delicious. It’s a popular breakfast place in town, and very busy. Would not recommend if you are looking for quick service. Got the polar bear dish with French toast and Canadian maple bacon.

Excellent restaurant! So glad we were able to snag a reservation here. On clear evenings the 360 view is outstanding. The service was excellent, the wine menu was overwhelming in the best way, and the food was very tasty. My favorite dishes were the halibut and the cheese plate. Highly recommend both of those dishes!

Absolutely wonderful dinner experience. Dropped $600 including tip, but was so worth it. Local to the area but took a visiting family member to celebrate their birthday. Great service, prompt but not over bearing, never an empty water glass, dishes removed at appropriate times. 10/10 will go back and recommend to family and friends.

The Crow’s Nest will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and now in my 30s I can really appreciate how special it is. The food was incredible, the cocktails were delicious, the caviar was some of the best, and the view was absolutely stunning no matter how many times I’ve seen it. Everything feels elevated but still comfortable, like fine dining without the stuffiness.

My friends and I had a great experience here celebrating a birthday! The service was top notch and the views from our table were amazing. Each of us enjoyed our meal throughly. They even did something special for my friend’s birthday! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Anchorage!

The views here over the water at sunset and also downtown are simply spectacular. The food was excellent, featuring a blend of European dishes and preparations, combined with typical Alaskan meats (king crab, salmon, halibut, cod) and some they clearly had to go beyond Alaska to get (angus beef and foie gras). A good variety of side vegetables are available. They are apparently famous for flaming bananas, but we had some kind of chocolate caramel concoction. While it is an expensive restaurant, it is very much worth it. They also have an extensive wine list. Service is very professional and attentive.

Amazing restaurant in the Captain Cook Hotel, located on the top floor of the hotel with stunning views. The food and cocktails were superb, our server Jill was outstanding and the atmosphere is professional, yet warm and cozy if that makes sense.

service and atmosphere is great, i have never actually eaten here other than their mother's day and Easter buffet which is so worth it. i love the omlette bar but i do think some dishes lack in flavor. but i would come back for the brunch buffet for sure. the desserts were so beautiful kudos to the dessert chef

Like a dinner. The booths are really old. Your China is on the table. Our waiter was great. He just moved back to Anchorage and was very helpful. The meat quality was just ok. Over rated restaurant. The clams were cooked so long they had no flavor.

My husband and I didn't have reservations but we were lucky that there were seats available at the bar. We got that escargot, Halibut and New York strip (both were good but the Halibut was definitely our favorite!! ). It was nice and quiet in there which was nice.

My wife and I went to club Paris for a impromptu lunch date. Upon entering we were met with a line of people waiting. The restaurant was packed full on a Friday. Because we had plenty of time on our hands we decided we would go ahead and wait. It's lucky that we did because the weight was less than 15 minutes and we were sat and ready to order within minutes after that. I am one of the lunch specials a Alaska king crab melt with a side of fries. My wife had the lunch special of quiche Lorraine. It took a little while for the food to come out and our server was on top of the kitchen asking where was one of the items that she was missing for our meal. I think realizing their mistake the kitchen immediately dished up a plate of the quiche for my wife. My wife of course had some of my fries and some of my melt. Surprisingly she didn't offer me any of her quiche. I'm just now realizing this a day later that I got swindled. Anyways we both thoroughly enjoyed our food and enjoy the atmosphere. The service was outstanding the server was very attentive. My glass of water never got empty. She was always right on top of any of our needs. We were pleasantly surprised when the bill came out lunch was $32 and of course we added a tip. We were comparing it to a restaurant across the street, Sullivan's. The same meal at Sullivan's would have easily cost us over $100. And it would have been nowhere as tasty as what we had at club Paris. If you haven't been to club Paris I highly recommend it. We will definitely be going back for more impromptu lunch dates.

Our first Steak House in Anchorage. We tried all of the sides, the rib eye, filet mignon and crab legs. Here is our rating. Crab Legs - 10/10 - very good but very expensive. A pound of them set us back $170 Filet Mignon - 9/10- it was delicious and we had it stuffed with Blue Cheese. Cooked perfectly. Why a 9/10- because the filet just wasn’t a great cut. Most likely not prime beef. Rib Eye- 7/10 - Cooked a little heavy on one side- a lower quality rib eye- but still good. Steak Fries - 7/10 - good fries, nothing spectacular Rice Pilaf - 10/10 - AMAZING- enough said. Baked Potato- 9/10- gold potato-the toppings were good but cheese sauce was a little much Overall thus was a good place to eat. A little over priced, and a little slow due to them being extremely busy. The staff was AWESOME! Very good service and the waitress was hustling around the whole time. What could make this place better? IMO they need to either increase staff or reduce customers. The chefs and staff being overloaded took away from the quality of the meal. They need to use better quality meat (this might be something that is harder and more expensive to get in Alaska-my first time here so I only have the lower 48 steak houses to compare it to). Final thoughts- for a meal, with no alcohol drinks, that cost $365 before tax it was a little below average, and I would expect much more back home, even at a nice place in Lake Tahoe (overpriced). It was good food and amazing staff.

First thing I want to mention is reservations are HIGHLY recommended. We visited on a Wednesday evening without a reservation and got lucky with availability at the bar. Steve, bartender, was very attentive. Husband ordered the prime rib end cut and claimed it was incredible. I had the teriyaki chicken and found it delightful. Carrot cake was delicious. If you get the chance, please visit.

I am not from Alaska. I was just visiting. I decided to stop here with a couple of coworkers. This has been my favorite restaurant so far. Although it was a bit pricey, my steak was tender and amazing. I tried the filet mignon teriyaki steak tips. I also got to try the stuffed mushrooms which were also great. My steak fries also fantastic and they also have a sweet red wine which I loved because I often cannot drink wines at restaurants as they don't offer my favorite which is a sweet red. I am extremely impressed with the food Service was very quick with not a lot of waiting for your food. They also had bread which was also great. I had a really good experience here. I only spent just over 80 bucks for my food and a tip and two bottles of wine. The sweet red came in these little mini wine bottles.

They have lots if steaks to choose from but since i come from the Midwest I get steak all the time so instead I went with the scallops cerole.

Disappointed in the quality of the food. The king crab legs were good, but the couscous wasn’t edible. The grilled squash and zucchini were just okay. The grilled asparagus was very good. Service was very good. All in all, I would not go back. Even with a 20% discount due to buying gift cards at Costco, I don’t feel the meal was worth the money. The Bavarian Hefeweizen was the best part of the meal. My husband had the grilled ribeye. We both felt we make a better steak at home.

Walking into Orso, I immediately felt comfortable. The atmosphere is casual enough to keep things relaxed, but there’s an attention to detail in the décor and service that makes dinner here feel like a special occasion. I ordered the halibut, and honestly, it might be one of the freshest pieces of fish I’ve ever tasted. The flavor was so clean and bright that it almost didn’t need anything extra, though the light seasoning and perfectly cooked finish elevated it to something amazing. You could absolutely tell it hadn’t traveled far—anchored in Alaska’s seafood reputation, it tasted like the ocean in the best possible way. For dessert, I couldn’t resist the pistachio cake. I’m so glad I didn’t skip it because it was a showstopper. Moist, nutty, and subtly sweet, it had the kind of balance where every bite made me want to slow down just to make it last longer. It wasn’t overly heavy either, which made it the perfect end to the meal. The staff were warm and attentive without hovering. They seemed genuinely happy to guide first-time visitors like me through the menu, which added to the positive experience. Overall, Orso gave me exactly what I was hoping for in an Anchorage dinner: excellent local seafood, thoughtful touches, and a dessert I’ll be craving again soon. If you’re visiting, especially if you want to taste halibut at its freshest, this place is a must.

The food here was very good and we focused on seafood, namely, the king crab, and a halibut dish, both of which were fresh and delicious. A vegetarian colleague reported that the portobello mushroom parm was excellent. Service was quick and friendly and they have good dessert options too. The place gets very crowded and we reserved an early table to avoid the wait.

Best meal I’ve had in Anchorage. Crab-stuffed shrimp w/ pesto pasta was superb. Great service and great ambiance. Excellent wine by the glass selection, and wine glasses were high quality.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. The food was superb and the atmosphere very casual and comfortable. The service was acceptable if a little slow. I will definitely consider this as a dining option in the future.

This was recommended as the best place to get chicken parm in Anchorage. The chicken parm was good, although the pesto pasta had way too many vegetables, which I've never had with chicken parm. I'm used to Long Island Italian food. For that, 4 stars. Otherwise, food, service was good. I was surprised we had to pay for bread for the table though. We went September 11th.

You must, you MUST eat at Orso once in your life at least. This experience has certainly been a culinary climax and I will most definitely be back when I'm back in Anchorage. I had the Red Copper River Salmon with Rosemary Polenta and Grilled Asparagus. I was absolutely thrilled with my choice after one bite. The only complaint is that there was simply not ENOUGH grilled asparagus on the plate. My partner who hates asparagus raved about the boldness of the flavor. Speaking of boldness of flavor - the Rosemary Polenta was powerful and I savored every single course grain. Finally the salmon was executed with precision. You will absolutely be missing out if you miss out on this wonderfully decorated restaurant with unforgettable food. Cannot recommend enough!!

After living in Anchorage for over 10 years, I finally tried Spenard Roadhouse on 27 June. I am kicking myself in the @$$ for not trying it out sooner. The staff were great and the food was amazing. We had calamari and beet carpaccio for appetizers and halibut & fries, shrimp & grits, salmon burger, regular burger, and strawberry shortcake to top off the meal. Everyone loved their food and we all will be visiting again soon.

Family friendly, looks small on the outside, but seems much bigger inside. And there are several places to sit. We went for dinner and were able to sit at the bar without a wait. They had great drink specials and food was out of this world!! SOO DELICIOUS!! By far my favorite restaurant on our trip to AK. The menu had a little bit of everything. I wished we were staying another night to eat here again.

Absolutely wonderful service! I forgot the name of our server, but she came to every table in her section to ensure they had water. Very kind people and wonderful family friendly atmosphere as always! My sister and me had the Mac & Cheese and delicious Jambalaya bowl!

I cannot eat at an establishment that has restrooms which smell worse than any gas station or hardware store or truck stop I have ever visited. The men’s room smells of 5 year old urine. If your cleaner is incapable of sanitizing the restrooms I cannot fathom what the kitchen looks like. If you could smell this review it would stank like a mix of a combo of a Poop cruise/Concert Porta poty/poorly cared for Animal shelter. Do better Spenard Roadhouse what happened to sanitary standards? I read your response. Very unlikely you haven’t heard the restrooms are disgusting, as a matter of fact multiple women I was with said the ladies room was also very bad. So not sure how you’re missing the message. Maybe walk in there some time and check for yourself. I wish you the best, but cleanliness counts.

The fried chicken was phenomenal. It was fried to perfection for a southern guy. The seasoning was good also. I liked the smashed garlic potatoes.

Amazing service, Zoe was amazing. Food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, as were the wine options. Pork chop was phenomenal and my friends said the chicken was juicy and the lamb was the best he’s ever had. Highly recommend.

Delicious food, the roasted duck was cooked perfectly. Large array of drink options ranging from craft cocktails, a multitude of wines and homemade mocktails. The restaurant can get busy later in the evening, so wait times for food can be long. Food was presented well and tasted great. Reasonably priced for the quality of the dishes.

I always try to leave the review I wish others would write! First of all - this is by far the best restaurant we ate at in Anchorage and honestly one of the best we’ve had, and we are big foodies. That being said, we rated the service low because although our waitress was attentive and incredible it took 3 hours total from start to finish. Appetizers -*Oysters baked - oh my gosh probably the best ones we have had and we live on the coast! -Ravioli was creamy and delicious -Goddess salad was also very delicious Meals *-The salmon special was excellent. The flavors were incredible. One of the best salmon entrees we’ve ever had. It came on top of Parmesan risotto. There was a poached egg on top (which was delivered later kind of taking away from the overall presentation). Overall an amazing dish. -The prime rib entree was good but wouldn’t say it stood out when compared to the fish entree. Dessert They were out of baked Alaska so we got the crème brûlée and the chocolate graham cracker dessert. They were both delicious. Overall great experience. Only suggestion is that the restaurant could certainly benefit from some improved efficiency to decrease the length of stay for customers.

The place is nice and the staff too. Unfortunately there weren't many vegan options. There was a chance to make a couple of dishes vegetarian but no vegan option on the menu. Nevertheless the time I spent there was nice and even if they were very busy the staff was nice and helpful. The dishes looked tasty and elegantly plated some even artistic. They definitely have a proper Chef there. I'd hope in the future they'll have a couple of vegan options. for what I've seen the chef seems very capable to amaze us all.

We were recommended a visit to Crush by a local and looked forward to dining there during our one night in Anchorage last Thursday. While we were seated promptly and the drinks were great, our dinner took over an hour to arrive without communication from our server. When we finally asked for our salad first or crackers to tide over our hungry teen (after 55 minutes), we were denied both, told the kitchen was slammed and that they would get our meal out to us asap. Dishes trickled out over 20-25 minutes, meaning we couldn’t eat together. The food was delicious, but the service was disjointed and disappointing. Despite the server’s apology and mention of possibly comping items, nothing was removed from our bill. When we asked about it thinking she maybe forgot she had said that, first she came back with no, there’s nothing she can do. We told her how disappointing that was under the circumstances, and she said she understood. She then came back again and offered to comp a 3rd dessert - odd, since we didn’t need it and had already paid for two. It felt like a missed opportunity to turn a frustrating experience into a positive one. The bill was over $200 so choosing not to comp a glass of wine or a dessert that would have cost them $5 or 6 (if even) is just bad business. We had planned to buy a bottle of red to bring back to the hotel room. The tip was cut in half and the $20 they would have made on the wine sale forfeited...all for what exactly? Lost $, this bad review, and no future recommendation from us. In conclusion, we were confused and disappointed by the lack of hospitality. Would not recommend.

The food is delicious and the wine list is curated. Modern cuisine that take the best of every food culture. Fantastic vegan options. The staff is kind and prepared, particularly Rob, the owner, and Paula.

Went here while in town with family, what a great place. Several of the in-laws were questionable and turned out to be the best meals while in town. Grant gave great suggestions and changed my wife’s mind on the halibut. The horseradish crusted was delicious and I had the Hunters pie. I love me some shepherds pie and this took it to the next level. Several had the seared ahi and said it was the best ahi they have ever had. Thank you for ending out Alaska trip on a very high note. Visited Humpy’s and was not disappointed! The smoked salmon dip was hands down my favorite, however the halibut fish and chips were definitely another. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. I’ll be sure to visit again, whenever I plan to make my next trip to Anchorage:)

We were given this restaurant as a recommendation from our bus driver while driving to Anchorage. It turned out to be a great hit! We thought the food was great! We got the halibut and chips, the patty, the crab roll. Omg they were all delicious! Great food, great place to stop in for a bite to eat. Next time o go back to Alaska, will stop in.

First of all Fiona and Catherine were excellent servers at the bar where we sat. We watched them work so hard and be so pleasant. The food was excellent. We had the halibut tacos and the halibut burger and both were great. The place was very busy but had a great vibe. It’s a restaurant and sports bar. It’s not loud so you are able to talk. We were not there when there was live music. We went on a Wednesday night.

People referred me here as a “dive bar,” but I didn’t see anything “dive” about it. Great service and delicious food. I arrived too early for the dinner menu, but the halibut fish and chips were terrific. Highly recommended!

We had the Golden Crab, Crab Roll, Crab Patty Melt, and Caesar Salad — everything was outstanding! Fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. The place is super friendly and absolutely worth recommending!

Gonna start with this... TRY THE CALAMARI! Not sure what sort of crack they put in their seasoning but it was exceptional! On the outside - crunchy! On the inside succulent (only word I can think of!) Even the aioli was spiced perfectly! This was an absolute hit! Ordered the halibut tacos and they were good - maybe a tad underwhelming for me in that halibut is a heavy/fleshy fish and I felt like it could have been seasoned slightly better. It was supposed to be slightly blackened but I didn't taste that. The aioli was OK and the candied jalapenos didn't taste candied! Overall it worked and the portions were excellent! This dish came with multi coloured tortilla chips and salsa which I actually thought were devine! They had a nice saltiness to them that complimented the tacos! The sockeye salmon burger was good but perhaps a touch overcooked. The fries that came with it were good. Service - excellent! The staff that served us was excellent! Tried a beer on their rotational taps which was really good! This place is probably what it is hyped up to be in the evenings with the beer flowing and the food following! With live music - I can not imagine how this place would not be an instant Anchorage favourite!

They had menus ready for us to celebrate our anniversary with our names on it. Artichoke appetizer was amazing the bread was fresh and fluffy. Noodles were nice and cheesy. Scallops were a little on the spicy side but good

The Rustic Goat is a must-try! We ordered several dishes. Hummus – I Loved the rustic veggies that topped the hummus. The hummus had that perfect creamy texture. THE HEAT MISER Pizza – Total standout! The crust was soft and flavorful, and the reindeer sausage with caramelized onions made it next-level delicious. Alaskan Scallops – The curry sauce was sooo good—spicy with a nice kick, so be ready for some heat. Shrimp Scampi – Good, but I’d probably skip it next time and try something new. Overall, super tasty with fun flavor combos that make it worth the visit!

During a trip through Alaska, we stayed in Anchorage and decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was really fun and lively. We had to wait a bit before being seated, but only like 10min. There were 3 people in my party and we all got different dishes. They all looked and tasted so good that we all shared some of our food. We also tested multiple desserts and they were also amazing and tasted so fresh! The waitress was also really helped and gave us the run down of the menu. We found out that the chef actually makes changes to and updates the menu based on the season, and it really makes a difference in the quality of the food. Overall we had a really good time and impressed with the food.

Our dinners were great - drunken clams with reindeer sausage and pork sausage, and the pasta. Off the charts flavorful. We could not get a table reservation so we ate at the bar. The negatives - the pita bread was under done and had to be sent back and still was not cooked enough on the second try either. So bummed that All the beer taps were not operational so draft beer was a bust. The bartender/server, Adam, seemed nice but almost too busy vs attentive for our needs. So, it was a 5 on food and a 3 on some other things. VictorB

Rustic Goat is hands down the most comforting food and atmosphere in town. I’ve lived in Anchorage my whole life and can’t say enough how fortunate our neighborhood is to have Chef Frazer and his staff. They genuinely care about not only cooking good food, but caring for their customers and each other. A rare find of compassionate, relaxed and caring staff, and the most divine food. Our biggest stressor is deciding what to get: it’s all so good. If it’s your first time the clams and sausage are to die for, their wings are our favorite ever, the nachos are always perfect and you can never go wrong with the specials or a steak. Don’t miss out on desert either!

I went for my birthday since it was one of the few "fancy" places open on Tuesdays. They printed out personalized birthday menus which was so cute and it's half off of dessert for birthdays. I got the elk, thai lettuce wraps, and creme brulee and both were very good. My boyfriend got the Kalbi bowl. If I had one slight complaint, its that the creme brulee tasted kind of burnt, like they torched it a little too long. But everything else was good

I tried the chicken pizza and it was delicious, although there were only a few options to customize it. The Thai chili wings were very good as well. The only downside was the wait time. We were told it would be about twenty minutes but it ended up being closer to forty five. It was raining, so that might have caused some delays. Overall, the food was tasty and I would recommend visiting

I took my family here to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was our first time and we were very impressed. First, the service was friendly and professional. Our server went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Second, the food was amazing. From the appetizers to the desserts every dish was visually appealing but more importantly tasted better than we expected. This restaurant walks the fine line between Alaska casual and Fine Dining and does it well.

We arrived just as they opened for the evening and were seated immediately. Servers were professional, polite, and had good insight into menu options. We ordered the truffle fries which were a delicious appetizer, then a skirt steak and veal medallions for our dinners. Neither dish disappointed, and everything on the plates was delicious. The lingonberry sauce on the veal was particularly noteworthy and brought together the flavors in a way that I don't usually find in a fruit/meat dish. All in it was a very nice place to go have our anniversary dinner while so far from home, and we will most certainly be going back to try more menu items.

Roads were bad out to Girdwood for Double Musky, so we decided to eat out in town. I called Southside Bistro before we headed over to see if they did walk ins at all. They said they did. When we got there it took a bit to actually be greeted, we were asked by another worker if we had been helped yet before the hostess even acknowledged us. This was our 1st time here. We were told wait was about 40min for a table or could wait for the bar. After waiting about 10min a server at the bar asked us if we knew and wanted to sit at an open table in the bar area. We had no idea there was more than just the bar seats as an option. Calamari overall was great, clam chowder I wouldn't order again(flavor was not there), my rockfish with mushrooms on top was amazing(rice with it was meh though), the filet mignon was delicious (veggies and presentation was sad). For main dishes the sides seem as an after thought. Server was very nice, just slow and didn't refill drinks more than once. I had to ask for boxes and check. Dessert we did to go was just decent, sauce and whip cream were not matching for flavor. For how much we paid I expected better overall.

We like Southside bistro but my recent reservation didn’t go as expected. Booked a table for 6 and wanted to add two more people on the reservation for a friend’s birthday party. I was told I was already at max and they cannot accommodate two more people to my reservation. I asked for a separate table and was told that was not possible. I asked the person on the phone If I should just cancel my reservation and book somewhere else and she agreed with canceling my reservation. Difficult to understand why a restaurant rather loose money than make accommodation for additional people on a reservation. Good food and atmosphere just make sure not go to with 6 or more people.

This place is a Gem! Went here for Date night and got a wonderful horseshoe table on the side. Started with the flatbread and brie. The Brie was absolutely perfect. The wood fired pizza oven made an excellent flatbread. She ordered the Schnitzel and said it was authentic and very tasty. Lingonberry, and the Dill sauce were standout's. I had the pasta special. A very light and not spicy version of a Italian take on chipotle cream sauce with grilled chicken and rigatoni. It was packed full of flavo. You can tell the Head Chef has skills and training. And frankly for the price the food was excellent value. Presentation excellent. Probably one of the top 5 sit down restaurants in Anchorage. Will go again and try the Veal Tenderloin.

I ordered the blue cheese custard and the rack of lamb. My wife had the pasta special with prawns. Everything was excellent.

Lovely chef who came out to greet us and lovely waitstaff who were very attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. Thank you!

This was honestly the best meal I've had in a while. Our server was incredibly welcoming. Our meals were amazing. The Mama Mia! might be the winner. I appreciated the extensive kids menu. The Birds and the Trees was a great healthy option. Not sure how they cooked those carrots, but they were to die for!

Edit: changing my review. Previously had posted some frustration about showing up to a private dinner. However, we made it down the following weekend and were sat immediately. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I had the ribeye which was excellent. My daughter had the kids chicken, rice and broccoli dish and my wife had the bipimbop. Everything was great and all the food we saw coming out to other tables looked fantastic as well. Worth the 2nd attempt for sure and would love to come again. Prices were fair as well.

Great local spot. Ordered the halibut cheeks lettuce wraps🥰. Salmon bowl, and sausage pasta. Food was great, service was pretty slow, the gentleman next to us sent back his food and ordered something else and it took over 20 min to get his next dish.

Amazing dinner and great service from Ian! This gets crowded so enjoy a drink on the patio, or shop at the gift shop next door. When you get seated have the tagliatelle with Ragu and the Alaska burger! Both are excellent! The desert options are fantastic so leave room for one! VictorB

This by far was my favorite meal while in Anchorage. Perfectly cooked, fresh and creative. I was in a group and everyone loved their entrees and apps. The Mama Mia is best bolognese I’ve had anywhere and the salmon is just perfect.

i’m so glad I decided to look up restaurants on the way home from Seward instead of getting back to Amsterdam where everything was probably already closed. I called ahead to this restaurant because we were only gonna have 40 minutes before they close. They said come on in. Salmon was fantastic, also got yummy bimbap bowl and a cider on tap. Insanely beautiful views! Great customer service. Great music playlist for this “hip” millennial. 🤗

My friends and I arrived at Jack Spray after it was closed but the gentleman working allowed us in and let us order rose! It was such a nice gesture and created a fun memory for my friends as I as we were visiting Alaska on vacation! The rose was great and the atmosphere made it all the more magical. It was the perfect stop for a quick drink before exploring more of Girdwood. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Girdwood area!

Although the restaurant was extremely busy, they did their best to get us seated as soon as possible and once noticed we hadn’t gotten drinks yet, the gentleman seating people came and actually served us as well. Seems like a very supportive and helpful staff. The grilled salmon was very tender, perfectly seasoned, and fell apart off the fork. The fingerling potato’s weren’t crunchy, but cooked to perfection. The fettuccini primavera was cooked perfectly el dente, I got it without mushrooms which I highly recommend as I don’t feel like mushrooms would mix well. It was a very light delicious pasta. The deserts were incredible I wanted to try them all but we settled on the crème brûlée and the strawberry lemon tiramisu. The crème brûlée had a perfectly golden caramelized top and was perfectly vanilla and creamy. You could see the vanilla bean in the dish. The strawberry lemon tiramisui feel like is named inappropriately as it is not a tiramisu, have no coffee and the lady fingers aren’t moist but it was overall very good as a starberry lemon cake but I just think it’s marketed wrong. Would definitely come here again.

This is the place we found Baked Alaska, the famous Alaskan dish but hard to made. It didn't let us down. Really good Alaskan food for captain Cook.

Unfortunately disappointed. First dinner was the infamous Alaska Halibut F&C. The fries were good and crispy. The fish was without flavor except for the deep fried batter. Server was friendly, but for a not very busy time, it took 20 min for him to return to my table, at which point I'd given up on dessert. Second visit was to get that previously desired dessert - blueberry cobbler, which looked amazing on the menu. Ordered it to-go and host said about 5 minutes. Which while I realized 5 minutes was optimistic, I was greatly disappointed when it came out 30 minutes later. Rushing back to the room (on the other side of the hotel) to enjoy the cobbler while it was still hot & ice cream still cold, was greatly disappointed to be met with the fragrance of charcoal when I opened the box. The small pie shaped wedge of cobbler was burnt to a crisp - only the compote on top was edible. Needless to say, I will need to enact the 2 strikes you're out on this eatery. Which is disappointing for me as I've heard others had good experiences.

Excellent lunch and dinner options. Outstanding wine list, awesome cocktails and cool bartenders. Business brings me to Anchorage and Hotel Captain Cook. More often than not, I dine at Fletcher’s. From pizza to their delicious halibut, I have enjoyed just about everything on their menu. A favorite with locals and visitors. If you are arriving later in the evening, call ahead, and make a reservation.

Don’t spend $38.00 for the worst seared halibut dinner I’ve ever had anywhere. It took a good 20 minutes for the food to arrive and when it did the fish was cold, the broccoli was so hard and cold you couldn’t cut it and the tiny 4 potato slices were burnt but cold. The plate was sent back and my husband ate his 4 tiny halibut taco appetizers and I was still waiting another 15 minutes for the second try. When it arrived the fish was hotter but the broccoli and 4 tiny potato pieces were still cold and hard. Inedible. I told the waiter again and all he did was give an apology. No offer to remake but at that point I really didn’t want to try a third time. No offer to adjust the bill. I ate the fish and paid $38.00 for a piece of halibut which in my opinion was way overpriced for what you got. I would never go back nor recommend this establishment. What a ripoff and very disappointing for our first day in Alaska.

Ordered a salad that had fresh fruit and grilled chicken. The chicken was not cooked completely. I had to send it back to cook the chicken. The salad had very little fruit. Disappointing meal. Our other meal was also not the greatest. Nice waiter. Lacked a hostess. Disappointed that the restaurant did not compensate us for the undercooked chicken. That really could have gotten us sick and ruined our vacation. I don’t recommend this place.

Nice, Very Cold Alaskan Amber Beer🍺 & Food not too Lucky. There are few Halibut Fingers and many French Fries. Pictures talk by themselves!!!!!

Our tour guide was batting 1000 with his restaurant recs and this one was no different. Started with the duck fat fries and asked for them to be extra crispy!!!! Perfect and full of flavor!!! Main was their belgian waffle with chicken tenders and a scoop of pineapple-coconut ice cream!!! This is what heaven must be like!!! The ice cream paired beautifully with the chicken and waffle. Pure bliss!!! Service was excellent too despite the restaurant being crazy busy with all the tour groups!!

We did not have reservation but immediate seating. Order was taken quickly and food was served quickly. Not sure if the Pilsner was brewed there or not, but it was very good. Highly recommend. Cod was good/fresh and the batter was nice and thin. Lost a star because the fries had way too many ends & pieces. See pic.

Came with a party of four and we were able to be seated right away which was great considering this was on a holiday weekend. Ordered burgers and the short ribs with shrimp and grits. The two year old in our party said it was the best food she’d ever had. We enjoyed the anchorage style burgers with the jalapeño bacon. Short ribs were pretty good. Also had a hazy IPA which was good. Nothing mind-blowing food wise but overall we all agreed we would dine there again.

This was a very pleasant surprise. What seemed like just a mall restaurant turned out to be a nice, cozy place with a great menu and tap list. The tap list was all Alaska craft beer, a nice chance to try beer from breweries I didn't expect to be able to visit. I had a hazy from Black Spruce Brewing in Fairbanks that was excellent. If I had not been full from my excellent dinner, a spare rib poutine, I would have explored more. Service was good, but not top notch as the server did not really know the beers when my wife asked. But she was still fast and very pleasant, so it is understandable. I would return here.

This is my new favourite place in downtown anchorage. Good selection of beer. Decent price. Clean & modern bar. Bright. I didn’t order any food this time but it looks good. Will try some on my next visit for sure.

We did not eat here but really enjoyed the draft beers. Loved the IPAs and the heavy porter. Also, the story behind the name and location is quite interesting. That classic (ancient) cash register behind the bar is also very cool. The T-Shirts/swag is also cool so I bought one for ~$20 ! VictorB

Tent City Taphouse is quite the hidden gem! Stopped here on a whim for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. As a lover of sour beers, it was awesome to see the vast selection of sour beers available. The food was immaculate as well. We ordered the Chowder and Pelmeni to start, which were both amazing. For entrees we ordered the Halibut & Chips and Beef Tips, both of which were delicious! Our server, Kayli went above and beyond to make our experience great! Kayli even offered samples of two of the sour beers when I was torn between choices. Overall, if you’re considering a place with great food, great drinks, and quality service - definitely consider Tent City Taphouse!

Red King Crab Leg is excellent, especially when served together with the Sweet Prawn Bisque. We ordered one cocktail because we had to drive back to the hotel. It was so nice of them to split it into two glasses. The house made (free) bread was good too, especially with their special butter cream. One of the best dinner I’ve had in a while. Ohhh and don’t forget about the dessert Pear. It’s not too sweet (the cream, shortbread, and the wine-poached piece of pear), which makes it the perfect dessert for me.

Awesome service and food for our anniversary! Tried the Brussels sprouts and pork belly apps, coconut curry, seasonal gnocchi, scallops, wagyu steak, and I can’t remember what was ordered for dessert (chocolate mousse cake and bread pudding maybe). Had a great experience and will def be returning!

The food was good. There is still room for improvement. But overall experience is great. I highly recommend the bone marrow appetizer. The bread 🍞 is also on point.

Altura Bistro delivers a thoughtful, elevated dining experience that’s well worth a visit. While not every dish hit the mark, the highlights were memorable and the service was exceptional enough to make this a solid 5-star experience. We started with the Hamachi Collars, which were crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked within, fantastic opener. The Elk Tartare was another standout with its rich balance and refined texture. But the true surprise was the Sweet Prawn Bisque, which struck a superb harmony of flavor, fat, and mouthfeel, hands down a solid choice. The Poached Pear, gently done in white wine, had a lovely texture and made for a delicate interlude. We paired our meal with Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé, a crisp Burgundy white that complemented the seafood and game beautifully. As for entrees, the King Salmon and Alaskan Halibut fell a bit flat, the halibut was slightly overcooked with a soggy crust, and the salmon lacked the punch we were hoping for. The Panna Cotta was solid but nothing particularly memorable. That said, the attentive and welcoming service, along with the standout appetizers and wine pairing, more than made up for the mixed entrees. I’d happily return to explore more of the menu, Altura clearly has the talent and creativity to impress.

10/10 food and service, dine in or takeout. Love their lunch specials and burgers. Must try the bone marrow appetizer. Definitely the best food in Anchorage.

As a restaurant trying to keep that “fine dining” experience, they could work on the ambiance of the dining room. Could have a little more background noise/music. Diming lights might also help :) our meals were VERY flavorful. The texture of my curry in the scallops was perfect! Himachi collar was so good. Will be back! Also shout out to Rambo bringing some good energy to our dinner 🙂

The chicken sandwich to go is the best thing you’ll eat. I think it’s the Nashville chicken sandwich. Not too spicy, just perfect. It’s enough to share for two people. Flavorful, perfectly cooked, delightful breading and the bun was chef’s kiss. I cannot recommend it enough. 11/10.

I love the concept of this restaurant being located at the summit of a mountain. The views are stunning, the environment is romantic and the food is DELICIOUS. It's a great perk that the gondola ride to the top of the mountain is included in your reservation. We had an 8pm reservation and were seated at our table right away. What was disappointing is that our table was ignored for 30 minutes, while tables next to us kept receiving course after course. I'm not sure if something was lost in translation with who would be assigned to our table but no one came by with a menu or hello for a solid 30 minutes. We unfortunately had to say something to our very attentive water person. The team apologized and I do appreciate they comped a glass of prosecco on the house as a courtesy. So although our experience had a rough start, it only went up from there. The food and tasting menu were delicious! Compliments to the chef! My favorite course was the lobster bisque. It was like a flavor explosion! The coconut and mango dessert was also something very special - I loved how creative, delicious and even interactive it was. A very fun way to finish the meal. All in all, I think our experience with the service was a rare instance, the gondola rides were so fun, the food is outstanding and I definitely would recommend this spot for a special occasion or romantic night out.

Didn't care for the music. Portions were small for all the seven courses. I did enjoy the steak (quite small) and noodles (again, small). The salads were nothing to write home about. The carrot was delicious also, but that's me like a sidedish and not a meal. Too expensive for what you get. The Smores dessert was ridiculous (not much of anything on the plate as you can see in the photo). P.S. If you will have wine, just buy the bottle and save yourself $$$$

Food was tiny and hit-and-miss flavors, not worth the price. It took 2.5 hours to get the "full experience". The wait staff was polite and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful and the facility was nice, but overall we wouldn't come back. The highlight of our trip was the included tram ride..

This was our first time here and like everything else at the Alyeska Resort the establishment was first class, no expense spared. Unfortunately this leaves them with charging some ridiculous prices. The tram is free if you book a reservation but if not it is $45 per person.. absolutely absurd. They have a seven course prix fixe menu but only four of the courses were what I would call good. If you want the wine pairing that they have chosen it is at an additional cost. Overall it was a nice experience to have one time but I would never go back, it was way too overpriced for the quality of food and despite the excellent service and atmosphere I can't eat either one of those.

They offer a chef’s tasting menu and we dined here during the summer, so the menu was their summer offering. The amuse-bouche was a scallop ceviche, which we thought was great. There was a nice contrast of textures between the seaweed crisp and the sauce. The foraged greens were fresh and we enjoyed the vinaigrette. The lobster bisque was our favorite part of the menu. It was rich and delicious. The agnolotti was also delicious and came in as our third favorite, with the halibut being our second. The goat cheese in the agnolotti wasn’t overpowering, the flavor was just right to complement the pasta and sauce. Then came the steak, which was an Argentinian loin with a veal jus and asparagus espuma. It was extremely tender and the asparagus was also cooked perfectly. Between the two desserts, the blueberry & lemon was by far our favorite. The mango & coconut lacked flavor and also seemed disjointed with flavors and textures between the coconut granita, pina colada, and mango flambé. The reason I gave the food and overall review 4 stars instead of 5 and my only complaint would be we were really looking forward to the halibut and steak and although they were both very good and cooked perfectly, they were a little bland and could have benefited from some salt. The veal jus sauce that came with the steak tasted almost like a plain brown gravy as well. Overall, we would most definitely dine here again. The service was excellent and the views are incomparable.

Impressive that their menu can adjust to dietary restrictions. Views were great. Our table service was good. Bar was extremely slow. The best dish I had was the vegan chocolate dessert. The best dish my husband had was the seabass. I feel like there could be some improvements to the menu.

We had a great experience at Sullivan’s in Anchorage. The atmosphere was lively yet upscale, and the food didn’t disappoint—we enjoyed a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, all expertly prepared and full of flavor. I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at Sullivan’s was so exceptional that I had to take a moment to recognize it—especially because of our incredible server, Eugene. From the moment we were seated, Eugene made us feel welcome, comfortable, and genuinely taken care of. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our evening. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendations were spot-on. I ordered the lobster, and my date had the lamb—both were absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were rich, the presentation was beautiful, and everything was cooked to perfection. But what really elevated the experience was Eugene’s service. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, made great drink pairing suggestions, and brought such a warm, professional energy to the table that it honestly made our night. Only reason I gave food 4 was had to ask them to cook my filet longer, asked for med rare and came out rare. And there were still lobster shells in the Mac and cheese. Didn't expect something crunchy in Mac and cheese. Servers are very attentive and on the spot, very polite and helpful. Was apologizing for the meat. Otherwise food was full of flavor and alot of it. When it came out I thought... That's it. But then couldn't finish it. The lobster Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. Hubby had rib eye and loaded potato, seasoning was good and his was cooked just the way he likes it.

Our server, Michael, made the experience so much more enjoyable, he is obviously passionate about his craft. His wine knowledge is extraordinary, demonstrated in detail, with his recommended pairings, and entertaining us with the wine room details. Hunter also made an impression on us. He is personable, professional, and adept at "reading the room." His level of personality and joviality perfectly matched our table. Maria was also kind enough to take time to stop by our table to say hello and to check on us. She made sure we were enjoying our meal thoroughly, and that the service was up to her standards. She was equally enjoyable. We felt like the level of attentiveness was appropriate, all of the staff were helpful and friendly, and the food. My God, the FOOD! It was glorious. Every bite was thought-out, immaculately presented, and so delicious. The Executive Chef even came out to say hello. I didn't catch his name, but he was wearing the most festive bow! The pièce de ré·sis·tance was the dessert cocktail. It was presented in a glass smoking box, the smoke had the distinct smell of a campfire on a cold winter's evening. The presentation was a performance all on its own. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or simply looking for a memorable meal, this restaurant delivers on every front. It’s not just dining—it’s an experience worth repeating, and worth every penny.

I would give this restaurant and chef a Michelin star. The pairing and composition of flavors and textures in most of the dishes is nothing less than genius. The flavors are rich, complex but balanced to perfection. Every bite felt like heaven. The use of high quality fresh ingredients in all dishes is evident. For appetizers we ordered the Gorgonzola fondue, seafood fusion soup cauliflower crème soup and poached pear salad, for the main we ordered the Alaskan halibut and Alaskan black cod which was brilliant. All the portions are generous, the prices for the appetizers soups salads and deserts are surprisingly low vs their superb quality. The ambience and vibe in the restaurant are friendly and welcoming. Our waitress Kimberley was professional energetic and knowledgeable, accurately explaining every dish. Wonderful remarkable experience!

Service was phenomenal. I didn’t tell the server about my fish being watery/mushy, but that’s because it was at the end of the meal. Otherwise the food was great, homemade bread, and good drinks. Atmosphere was a little too fancy for what it is. More casual would of made it better.

The non descript front is deceptive to what’s inside. When we arrived we wondered if it was open as it didn’t look like much from the outside. However once through the two doors, the ambiance shifts to a cozy interior. Service was impeccable and professional. We started with the Cesar pear salads followed by the scallops and salmon.

Great food and service. I highly recommend the gumbo! Best in Alaska. My friends and I had our 1920s dinner party here and had a fabulous experience!

Kincaid Grill offers a refined dining experience with a menu that’s creative, well-executed in parts, and slightly uneven in others. We started with the Pork Belly Appetizer, which was a standout. The texture was spot-on. Crisp exterior, tender interior, and the combination of hot honey glaze, crispy polenta, frisée & fennel, and pickled red onion created a perfectly balanced bite. This dish set the tone for what we hoped would be an exceptional meal. The Seafood Fusion dish was bold and beautifully composed with king crab and lemongrass-infused coconut milk bringing vibrant, aromatic depth. The only out-of-place element was the shrimp-mushroom wonton, which felt like an odd fit with the rest of the flavors. The Roasted Alaskan Oysters, though technically from the Pacific Northwest, were large, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Another highlight was the Black Cod, glazed with miso and paired with sesame-ginger scallion. It was silky, rich, and expertly cooked, easily one of the top dishes of the evening. Unfortunately, not everything hit the mark. The Alaskan Halibut was underwhelming, bland and lacking acidity or punch, especially compared to the more dynamic dishes on the table. The Gumbo also failed to impress; it felt flat and one-note. On the dessert front, the Crème Brûlée was standard fare, nothing wrong with it, just nothing special. The Cookies & Cream Semifreddo, however, was a fun and satisfying end to the meal, with a creamy, nostalgic sweetness that elevated it above the typical dessert offerings. All in all, Kincaid Grill delivers a thoughtful menu with a few standout dishes that are well worth trying. While not every plate was a hit, the highs were truly memorable and show the kitchen’s potential when everything clicks.

Right away when The Marx Bro’s Cafe announced on social media they were retiring, I made a reservation for my husband and I’s anniversary. Over the past month I’ve heard of people unable to get reservations and a BIG wait list. Last night it was finally time for our reservation and it was an amazing experience and maybe not for the reasons you think. Sure, the food was delicious & yes the service/timing was impeccable as always, but the realization of the history and personal connections/impact is what stood out most to me. Our server was the same server who helped us last time we were in for my husband’s birthday. I sat there wondering what their employees would move on to next, if I could get a recipe book, where the art was going and who would take the building over next. I looked around and saw many friends and families enjoying their night laughing, smiling & reminiscing. I asked the gentleman making our Caesar salad what his plans were after the restaurant closed next week. “Be a farmer,” he said. He has never been a farmer before, but will be able to spend time with family he hasn’t seen in years. He will be driving the Alcan with family to Mexico. Alaska provided an opportunity for him to pay off his debts, work hard and create a life he only ever dreamed of. He came to AK to get away from CA, where he could no longer sell cars, due to living the fast life of too many speeding tickets. Our conversation was a lot longer, but you could tell Van, Jack and his other restaurant family has had a big impact on his life. I hope the best for him on his new journey. On the art, I noticed round pink garage sale stickers. I asked what they were for. They were pieces that had already been sold and a couple he pointed out the owners were keeping for themselves. There was only 4 left, not claimed yet. How cool for people to have a piece of history. Now, who would take the building over? I for sure thought another restaurant would swoop it up, but then there’s the risk of the new owners changing too much/ruining what’s been built up for 40+ years. A non profit that makes meals for the homeless will occupy the building, which I think is wonderful. We also discussed their chef who sadly passed years ago and the connections. I’m a 911 operator and vividly remember the day we got the call. Sounds like all who knew him were very lucky. I also overhead a guest conversation about someone not being present working last night. The reason was due to the abuse they’d been receiving for the past two weeks, with people unhappy they were unable to secure reservations. This makes me sad. This is not the Anchorage I want to be a part of, where we send beloved members of our community into retirement in a hateful way because we don’t get something we want. We can do better! Sure, easy for me to say since we did get a reservation, but I would feel the same way even if I didn’t get one. We should be celebrating, respecting, encouraging and thanking this fine establishment into retirement and remember how blessed we are for the legacy they’re leaving behind and ever even being a part of our community. P.S. the halibut cheeks, Caesar salad & scallops were my favorite from our meal. We didn’t have room for dessert unfortunately. I wanted one of everything, but my body said otherwise.

Definitely, a must visit when in Anchorage. Small menu, nice wine list, not huge, but solid selection. My friend who loves craft beers had a good selection and was happy to see what they had. All in all, great meal, our Server, Amanda was perfect! Go and treat yourself. Oh yeah, someone in our party had a dairy allergy and they were great at checking with the Chef and offering options. That doesn't always happen but Amanda made it easy for us.

Tried this place based on reviews seen. I give this place 4 stars. The negatives for me were waiting a long time for dinner after the appetizers, but it is also a small place as was quite busy at the time of our seating. Second negative, both dinners were not hot just warm. The dinners we tried were the Kodiak scallops and the halibut. The appetizer was halibut cheeks which were amazing, and were served hot. We tried tiramisu and carrot cake and both were great!! Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a place to try if you have not been here.

Delicious food especially on a cold Alaskan night. Marx Brothers has great service and very cosey atmosphere perfect for a double date. All (4) of us had the Ossu Bocco, which was incredibly delicious. We started with the Melitzano Salata, Alaskan Oysters, and Smoked Pork Belly. Everything was the perfect temperature, and tasted fantastic. Searched around a few places as we visited family here from Maryland, and were satisfied with the Marx Brothers. Hope to stop by on our next visit!

Phenomenal food in a cozy atmosphere with excellent, attentive staff. We had the duck, the shrimp and a rockfish special with the chocolate mousse, the cheesecake and the berry crisp. Every dish was delicious and the presentation was fantastic.

The best ceaser salad I ever ate. The steak was like cutting into butter. My snapper was deliciously delightful.Music was pleasing to my soul.Ambiance lovely. The staff very pleasant and inviting.

OMG, excellent dinner and service. Was greeted/seated by a very pleasant young lady and Mr. Van, himself! The appetizer of foie gras is literally 'melt in your mouth' buttery smooth, amazing. We enjoyed fresh baked bread with olive oil, entree of Salmon with an increditable red pepper sauce, entree of scallops, shrimp, housemade spinach noodles with roasted broccoli. All was prepared with perfection.

Cozy atmosphere, attentive workers, great music that fits the setting, tasty cocktails. Food as A1! This is what fresh seafood tastes like. My husband has surf and turf with crab. I have the smoked salmon pasta. We shared appetizers. So delicious, nothing disappointed. Thank you for a great experience!

This place sounds like it would be a fine dining experience by the name and the storefront; however, it is a surprisingly casual establishment. This worked in my favor because I had been hiking all day and still had my boots on. This place has close to fine dining prices though. We had the halibut and chips and the daily special which was blackened fresh halibut with rice and a strawberry salsa. The food was great overall though the daily special seemed somewhat lacking in flavor for the price of $50. The presentation was great as well as the textures, freshness, and portion size. I don’t think it was blackened enough maybe? The flavor was like strawberry scented air. The halibut and chips however was excellent. It’s hard to go wrong with fried food but the batter was on point. The service was also top notch. Our waitress was knowledgeable and timed her follow ups well. We did not wait an unreasonable amount of time on our food. The main downside is the layout. If you don’t have a reservation, they put you in a “walk in” table or the bar. They are right next to each other. I do not really ever want to wrap up my day in close proximity to drunk people. We had to share our walk in table with another couple who only stayed for drinks. They eventually started making out with each other at the table. The couple at the other walk in table across from me were so drunk they were spilling the menus on the floor. The walk in tables have six chairs each which don’t leave much elbow room, so it was an uncomfortable experience.

This is my new go-to date night restaurant! The atmosphere is warm with lights not too bright and clean. Good for fancy date nights or celebrations. I cant say enough about the food! Very delicious! We had oysters and bread for an appetizer and it was fresh and tasty! We also had ribeye, it was juicy and tender. For dessert we had melted chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Everything was worth our money! Give it a try you will not regret.

This is a must try if you are visiting Anchorage! My family and I decided to go here since it was on DDD and the food was incredible. The spicy chicken gnocchi and creole dip were our favorites. Our server was an absolute gem and was incredibly attentive and helpful, especially since we were unable to make reservations ahead of time (highly recommend getting a reservation though). The lemon drop cocktail is also delicious!

Was kind of in a rut restaurant wise so decided to shake things up and try Haute Quarter Grill. Man oh man was it good. My wife loved her mango mojito, and she never drinks. The crab spinach artichoke dip was insane. The halibut fish and chips was delicious. The batter was light yet flavorful. I had the special (filet with bernaise sauce and king crab meat) and I loved it. The peanut butter pie was the best I've had maybe ever. Server was attentive and friendly. I'll definitely frequent this place!

The food was absolutely delicious. The menu was the perfect length and mix of options. Our waitress was so very helpful and professional. We had four in our party and we had three apps: oysters (favorite ones were the strawberry), crab and artichoke dip, and ahi tuna. We all tried each and couldn't agree on our favorite because we loved them all. For dinner, two of us had the night's special, halibut catch of the day and they thought their meal was amazing. One of us had the filet shish kabob and I had the blackened prime rib. These meals were cooked by professionals who knew what they were doing. Our only complaint would be that they started putting chairs up before we were finished, which we thought was unprofessional when in an otherwise top knotch place.

Great time at Huate! Food was great and King crab was even better! It was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. This was our first time in Alaska and although we wanted to try more king crab, this definitely didn't disappoint. Our server Rome was also fantastic. Super energetic, funny, and on point.

The food was Okay. Nothing to be excited about. The calamari was amazing but everything else went downhill from there. The bread was cold and just sliced sandwich bread, nothing special. The salads were mediocre, flavors blended and not that great. I had the beet salad and my husband had the Cesar salad, his was way too vinegary not even sure it they even used anchovy sauce. The pasta was horrrrrrible not even cooked properly and the sauce was bland and not very favorable. I had the ribeye steak and it was totally fatty could barely eat. Seasoned Veggies were two pieces of zucchini and a ton of mashed potatoes. The chutney was cold and not great. So bummed heard so much about the restaurant and couldn’t wait to go, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Can’t believe it had such high reviews. It was my birthday tonight…. Booo Jen Roy

Jen's is one of Anchorage's best kept secrets. The food is high end. The service is great and the employees really care to provide a great experience. We had oysters and they were delicious. The filet I had was as a great cut and portion. The cherry-bacon compote on top was spectacular. The deserts really hit a home run for us. The key lime pie, flourless chocolate cake and carrot cake are 3 of my favorites and they were all amazing.

Loved this place. The staff were friendly and attentive. Katherine was great! I wish I hadn't aggressively eaten the charcuterie board before I could get a picture. It had so many flavor combinations to try. The the house salad with the strawberry vinaigrette was light and refreshing as it was a bit warm outside today. Our steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly. My filet fell apart in my mouth. The scalloped potatoes were a perfect contrast to the seasoned filet. We will see you again! Thanks 😁

Our first time in Alaska with friends. We found this place and what a gem! We had the halibut and rockfish. Appetizer was the calamari. Everything was awesome! They even accommodated my dietary restrictions. Highly recommended for a very nice night out.

This restaurant is on my list of top 5 restaurants to visit in Anchorage. If you have an opportunity to dine here enjoy it. The dining area is not large, so make sure to have reservations in advance.

Small, no-frills family operation that actually feels like family when you’re there. Open kitchen where you can watch everything happen. Owner caught the fish that morning and battered it right in front of me. Hand-cut fries, both fried to perfection. Great spot for people watching while you eat. Authentic and unpretentious.

What a great diner! Really good food in a traditional American diner setting. My wife had the chicken fried steak and the gravy was so good! I had the halibut sandwich - very solid. The fries are obviously had cut and were plentiful and perfect. If I lived in Anchorage, I’d eat here often.

I got the reindeer hash and my husband got the country fried steak. Both were huge portions and were delicious!! We went back another day for lunch and got the Halibut sandwich (I definitely recommend ).Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Anchorage!

EXCELLENT FOOD! Cooked fresh and very good. Had breakfast and the portions were right and solid. Very Busy so plan on an early stop or to wait a little bit. But it was worth the wait. Costs were no worse than any in the area. Alaska is high on food.

Man this place is your classic American hole in the wall, and the halibut sammich is guy fieri quality. The kind of thing where you agree to split one with the wife but then wish you hadn't. UMMMM SO GOOD!!!! These tacos were incredible. Absolutely get the halibut tacos street style - you will not regret it. My tip - You have to pay extra for salsa and probably don't need it. Only negative for this place is that the smoke from the smoker may blow directly at you while waiting for food and eating given where it's placed. Overall, HIGHLY recommend

We kind of happened upon this little gem by accident. We were hungry, pressed for time and saw the smoker outside and people happily waiting around. So glad we did!. We got the salad with chicken and a breakfast quesadilla with halibut and eggs. Everything was soooo fresh. The salsa that came with the quesadilla was sooooo delicious. Nice big portions and super friendly staff! If you happen to be in Anchorage... this place is a must eat while you are here!

Delicious tacos and burritos, both the standard street tacos we all know and love as well as some inventive twists. Halibut tacos were amazing! The smoke from the BBQ smelled soooo good too. Not a ton of seating and it's all outdoor.

Wow, very tasty Mexican food at a good price. I got the Mex plate with pork which was delicious. They have their own smoker just outside where they were smoking all their meat. After I ordered I saw them tending to the smoker, next time I'll try the brisket for sure!

Yummy tacos, burrito and other Mexican street food in a outdoor setting. Everything is self service from queuing up for ordering to collecting your meal and to clear your own table if you're having your meal at their outdoor tables.

Everything about this place is amazing! Just being available for summer only makes it a novelty experience. Everyone needs to visit Alaska at least once in their life and I’d say the same thing about El Green-Go’s

El Green Go's Mexican restaurant is one of the highlights of an afternoon of walking or biking in Anchorage. Don't be fooled by the size of the place. They serve big flavor in every dish. Tried the Street Tacos (Salmon and Halibut), Nachos with Brisket and the Burrito and all were fresh, flavorful and well prepared. And the portions will cure any appetite. They are very ample portions. The service was fast and friendly and our selections were accurate. The atmosphere was quaint with just a few tables but a great chance to eat in a community style and sit with folks you meet. But the restaurant is just steps from the waterfront where you can take your food and eat with a view. Parking can be challenging if you're there during the week. But on the weekend, street parking is free. The menu is good for adults and children.

Great place! This was our first visit. Our server, Morgan, did a great job and was super nice. The food was great. The halibut fish and chips were outstanding. We also ordered a crab 🦀 sandwich and house wine. Highly recommend this place. During busy times, all the tables and bar seats could be full so you may have to wait a while for a table. 🍷

The best bar food that I had in a while! The restaurant is always crowded, so you may need to wait and few minutes until a seat is available. Likely it is going to be a seat at one of the bars. Get one where you see chefs cooking, it is a great show to see. My favorite was the King Salmon salad special, the fish was very fresh and tasty. Deep fried halibut is also very good.

The place was very crowded when we came in and it took us a little while to get service, which is ok I totally understand they were busy and small staff. Seemed like there were only two cooks in the kitchen so our food took a very long time. The salmon spread had some cheese mixed in already and didn’t have much salmon flavor. Just was different than what we expected. The Caesar salad would have probably been a lot better with Caesar dressing but I got it with the red wine vinegarette, and they didn’t put any parm on it? I don’t know if that was because I got it with a different dressing or why. Their dressing options are just Caesar, blue cheese, or the red wine vinaigrette. The halibut sandwich could have used a little bit more salt but the fish was very tender and the fries were good. The French onion soup was a bit salty but good.

Crab sandwich was tasty, and the Alaskan halibut sandwich with fries was fresh and flavorful, though a touch more salt would have made it good. Friendly staff and a welcoming local bar vibe with great seafood options.

What a great time we had at F-street station in DT Anchorage! The food was great- portions FANTASTIC! And they cook in front of you! I was seated in under 60 seconds as well I had two beers -first the TWISTED CREEK IPA Great citrus IPA and has just the right amount of bite. I give an 8.2/10 overall -second beer was ALASKAN HAZY IPA Can’t recommend this beer enough. It’s very smooth and very hazy. I give it an 8.7/10 overall I had the NY Strip Sandwhich; it was an amazing sandwhich, cooked in front of me to temp and presented perfectly. See for yourself!

Stopped at this bar/grill the night before leaving on a cruise. Great food and drinks at a reasonable price. Tried the sourdough crab sandwich and it was really good. Would recommend, but it does get busy.

The place was packed!! You have to find a seat yourself and it's basically bar style. It was really busy so it took a while for the food to arrive, but I sat right in front of the cooks, and they were working hard. They were funny too, and interactive with the guest which was nice to watch. The food was amazing. I got the grilled halibut sandwich and soup of the day. My friend from Alaska recommended this place to me since I've from out of town. I would definitely go back again if I get a chance in the future.

If we are in Alaska, we are stopping by Double Musky for steaks. I always get the filet, my son always gets the French Pepper Steak. Finest steak around and the jalapeno cheddar rolls are delish! Prices have definitely gone up (as everywhere else). The only part that kinda took me aback this time was the limited (to 1) refill for soda - and the cups are not that large. Service is always great.

Wonderful Cajun restaurant located on the outskirts of Girdwood Alaska. Casual tire is completely fine as everyone here is locals. Superb steaks, and Cajun dining. All appetizers were absolutely amazing. A smell a Tara had charisma and talent was able to suggest a wine that paired well with everyone’s dishes absolutely fantastic service at the end of dinner. They bring out a tray with all of their desserts and it’s hard not to have one of everything Would highly recommend if you’re in Anchorage or anywhere near Girdwood Alaska!

I’ve visited 3 times already and I always leave happy and full! The atmosphere is unique with almost no wall or ceiling space left! Always something to look at :) The service has always been great every time even though it’s been packed! The food is delicious and the dessert is always yummy and big enough to share!

Fantastic restaurant with awesome decor. The French Pepper Steak and the Steak Tips were the star of the show, highly recommended! The jambalaya and the carrot cake were also great, while the strawberry lemonade was very refreshing!

Incredible food! Very busy and well worth the wait! Plan to arrive early before they open at 5 pm. This is hands down my favorite place to eat! You will not be disappointed.

Visited for first time this summer with high expectations after hearing good reviews. Would not recommend! Couldn't even peel the overcooked shrimp. Steak was disappointing. Don't take a day off work to be there at 4:00 only to stand in line and take home a doggie bag which cost nearly $200. Lesson learned. Don't have high expectations. Very disappointed.

The Fancy Moose Lounge has a nice atmosphere and decent service, but the food leaves much to be desired. The flavors were underwhelming and lacked character - I’d rate it a three at best. After breakfast, we had to find another place for a second meal because it just didn’t satisfy. While the setting is pleasant, the restaurant really needs to step up its game when it comes to the quality and taste of the food.

We spent three days at the lakefront Lodge. this bar restaurant it’s in the same building. We ate there two days in a row.Nice bar overlooking the lake. You can watch float planes, taking off and landing while you’re eating. They have a nice outdoor deck that wasn’t open when we got there in early May. Unfortunate .Typical bar room food we had the halibut with onion rings, club sandwich, actually two nights in a row and a reindeer sausage sandwich with onions and peppers that was outstanding. Huge side salad, friendly staff loaded with Big game mounts.

A great place to sit and eat, especially if the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Really enjoyed the food, and the service was good. What I enjoyed the most was the location, sat watching the float plane's take off and land. Ample parking, nothing to dislike here.

Located on a lake where many float planes land and take off. The atmosphere is nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The chowder on Friday night was delicious. The halibut was cooked to perfection. The spinach wrap with chickpeas and spinach was very good. Did not have to wait for a table. Reasonably priced food and drinks.

Nice views of the lake and airplanes flying in and out of the water. Poor service-as nobody assisted for at least 15 minutes and us sitting at the table without even menus. The food was mediocre too. I ordered The Local and got 3 inch dry sausage hidden in the huge bun covered with French fries.

I started with the fried brie, and it was fantastic. Took most home so I could eat my meal. 2nd, I had the beet salad, was unimpressed - the beets were to be roasted, they tasted canned; too much basil oil- would not get again. Lastly, I got the 1/2 order halibut cheeks over risotto. I highly recommend it! Full of flavor, took most of that home as well. If possible, the leftovers were even better the next day. My husband got the fish and chips, he said the halibut was great. Service was good. We called ahead for a table. They were busy.

The Calamari Steak was a true masterpiece—perfectly pan-seared and topped with a delightful tomato and herb Béarnaise sauce, which paired wonderfully with the garlic bread! The pan-seared Halibut cheeks, lightly dusted and served on a rich pancetta and pea risotto, were also extraordinary. Adding lemon brown butter, fragrant basil oil, and a zesty Balsamic reduction created an incredible flavor explosion with every bite! And let’s not forget the lemon cheesecake—it’s an absolute game-changer in desserts! What an incredible dining experience!

We chose Kinley's for our weekly date night and thoroughly enjoyed it starting with perfectly executed martini's (bartender pictured!)! I had the raw oysters which were deliciously briny and Blake had the Oysters Rockafeller which were decadently perfect. We both had the house salad and mine was topped with the best pan seared piece of halibut I've ever eaten. Blake had the duck with risotto and a medley of veggies and rice. Highly recommend this restaurant for quality and good value.

The food was phenomenal. Not sure what else to say. There is a genuine chef and we were served an amazing meal. I do love the food here and it is more than a worthwhile stop when you are in town. To caveat this, I am an Alaskan local. If halibut cheeks are on the menu, I highly recommend.

I like how creative the menu is at kinley's. And the bartenders make good cocktails. The staff is great. I've always had excellent service when going to this restaurant. I've been there with friends, with kids but not very often with kids. I have also headed there for an early dinner before heading home after work. I enjoy the atmosphere. I love their calamari. The halibut cheeks and risotto were delicious!! I also enjoyed the duck! I've never had their burgers but my friend's son got it and he ate the whole burger!! He said it was great! We finished dinner with the pecan torte!! OMG! It was so good. I love how beautiful it was on the plate. Food presentation is excellent at kinley's. If you like that kind of thing. I do. I love how food is displayed. Also I like their French onion soup. I forgot to take a picture of the French onion soup and the calamari.

Great meal, flavors were all spot on. The hummus with the fried pita was very well done. The French onion soup was solid, both the cheeks and almond encrusted halibut were on point. The red sauce really is what took the almond encrusted to the next level. Desert was the truffle cake. Darn good. Could use a little more of the raspberry sauce but really hit the spot with a little coffee.

I visited here twice during a week long stay in Anchorage. First I had a halibut sandwich with a huge unsweetened tea(😍 was thrilled to have fresh brewed unsweet tea) and on my 2nd visit I had a bacon burger. Both of the sandwiches were good. The burger was sizable, I finished the second half the next day. Service was faster than expected from the given times when ordering online. They were VERY busy, but the staff clearly functioned well. Getting in and out of the parking lot with a left turn (in or out) is dicey - beware. A bit loud inside during the brief time I was there. Maybe quieter at tables further from the entrance.

This place is a Landmark in Anchorage. We’ve been coming here for decades. The atmosphere represents a lot of what Alaska is all about. It’s always great to look around at all the many pictures and other neat things. The food is consistently great too with lots of choices.. A must visit place for local folks and visitors alike. It is in a convenient location and not far from the airport.

The guy at Pablo‘s bike shop recommended it we asked for a local place. This hit the vibe. Super chill order at the counter. Awesome burgers. I recommend the homemade onion pieces. Sits right on a small waterway. You can sit outside if you want or inside and still see the water going by you. Special shout out to the young lady that served us. My husband has celiac and she was very accommodating.

Great place to come as a family. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek! Also, be sure to try the blackberry shake! Be sure to bring cash, because no credit or debit cards are accepted.

If you are from Anchorage, odds are you have been here. If you are visiting, it is a perfect first stop. This classic Alaskan history heavy, burger stop has arguably the best burgers in town only to be rivaled by their milkshakes and atmosphere. The rustic interfering has more history than some museums and a beautiful creek view. If you are new and want the full experience I would highly recommend a burger, a milkshake and the house made onion petals. Just know this is an all cash establishment.

I absolutely adore Arctic Roadrunner—it’s classic Anchorage dining done right! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with cozy Alaska charm: wood-beamed walls, quirky local photos, and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. Joe and I both had the Arctic Cheeseburger with fries and their famous onion pieces—and wow. The burgers were juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor, and those onion pieces are completely addictive—crispy, savory, and unlike any onion ring I’ve ever had. The fries were hot, golden, and the perfect sidekick. I also love their self-serve condiment bar so you can make your burger exactly how you like it. Even without the fireplace on, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the friendly staff made the experience even better. If you’re looking for a classic Alaska burger joint with personality, history, and seriously good food—Arctic Roadrunner is it. We’ll definitely be back!

CASH ONLY. Rustic, "authentic" Alaska experience. Place is covered in pictures of longtime Alaskans who frequented the place... And of their exploits. CASH ONLY. Strange place, but charming. And not inexpensive. Two sandwiches, one drink, one fry, and two extra small milkshakes almost cost 50 bucks. Did I mention CASH ONLY?

From the moment we walked into Tequila 61, the ambiance set the tone for a relaxing dinner. The decor appear to be very well thought out and the flower bouquets are a very nice touch. The Latin music created a laid back vibe that made us feel instantly at home (we are visiting from Orlando). After an afternoon of hiking the Matanuska Glacier, our server Ana A started us with the berry soda and Popcorn Shrimp which was very flavorful. For our main entree, Ana A recommended the 14 oz Gaucho steak which was absolutely just what I needed. We also tried the Halibut and the Duck Confit Tacos as well as the Carne Asada Tacos. The Duck Confit was absolutely delicious!!!!! And for dessert, we wrapped things up with the Horchata Cornbread which was unexpectedly better than I thought it would be. Overall, I loved Tequila 61. If I get the chance to go again beforethe end of my trip, I'm going to try the Salmon.

I really enjoyed this spot. The decor was nice and the location was easy to find. It has a nice upscale feel to it but still comfortable for any occasion. We had the oysters, steak, and fish tacos. All the food was top notch and the cocktails were good too!

Cocktails were really good! We weren’t in the mood for margs, but their local versions of a penicillin and a sazerac were really strong and delicious! We were satisfied with the chips and guac. The entire place should have been cleaner (reason for docking one star). Staff was very friendly!!

Best food we've had in Alaska so far. Largest jalapenos I've ever seen in the stuffed jalapeno appetizers. They were delicious, with a smokey flavor in the cheese stuffing. Al Pastor chicken tacos were divine, very flavorful. Waitress knew I liked spicy food so she brought me extra salsa to try on them. Great food and service.

The Pork Chops Adobo is missing the rich, savory depth that true adobo seasoning brings to the dish. The flavors feel somewhat flat and unbalanced, lacking the vibrant punch of garlic, vinegar, and spices that typically define this classic recipe. Furthermore, the combination of refried beans served with rice feels mismatched in texture and flavor; I would much rather enjoy the hearty, zesty notes of Charro beans alongside my rice, as they complement each other beautifully and elevate the overall meal experience.

Food was SO great! Completely underrated! Stuff was awesome and drinks were superb!

Beautiful atmosphere. Loved the decor and holiday decorations. Excellent cocktails but wasn’t brave enough to try the $40 margarita, and I am a margarita connoisseur. The tacos were good-we had the duck confit, shrimp tacos. The guacamole and salsa were good, but I wouldn’t write home about it (my Mexican mom wouldn’t say it’s good but she’s a snob). Definitely great for a date night!

(Update) I ended up checking this place out solo and yeah... I had to go back and change my rating of this hidden gem. I'm back in Anchorage again and figured I would give this place one more try (original review still below). Sure glad I did! Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Best part was when I'm sitting here writing this review "alone" and in my own little world, and this cutie walks up and touches my leg. Nearly scared the pants right off me, her name was Noble lol ------------------Man oh man, how bizarre can you get... After a long day at work, my colleagues and I decided on sushi. I know how busy good restaurants can get here in Anchorage so I call ahead to make sure there's not too long of a wait. Called twice in fact, both times, no answer. I figured "hey, might as well see if we can get a table". We almost passed it up because the outside of the building looked nearly abandoned, but as we passed by I noticed the OPEN sign illuminated over the front door. So we proceeded to enter, at our own risk. Oh My Gosh, I was ecstatic to walk through the doors of this legit Japanese ambiance and I immediately started to get excited about the assumed amazing meal we were about to embark on. Only to discover the restaurant is entirely empty? Strange, but we continue to find a table as the older Japanese man walked over to us from the back. We confirm, "you are open right?" as the sign entails. But it was his response that was truly baffling. "Sorry, reservation only". My buddy sensed some sarcasm buried deep in the old man's response and says "ah, he's joking". Only for the old man to change his tone and confirms "reservation only". WOW, I have never gone from so stoked to try a new restaurant, to baffled in 0.3 seconds in my entire life lol. I'm sure his food is amazing, but as this was a business trip I guess I'll never get the luxury to try it.

This place is a surprise with genuine ambient of a Japanese eatery. First, don’t be mistaken by the outlook and it may even looked like closed down. There is no bright neon lights nor flashing signpost. We nearly passed thinking it wasn’t opened! Only an aged gentleman works inside, so please be patient as he is the only one working. We just wanted a quick meal so we ordered ramen and udon. We say the taste was quite authentic! However the meat in the ramen may not be the most freshly made as I think the business turn over is not that high. Cost could be considered a bit high but I guess it is Alaska….

Phenomenal food, excellent service and delightful atmosphere. I cannot recommend this place enough. Make sure to call ahead if you are either coming in close to close or have more than two people in your party. The restaurant was being run by one man while my wife and I visited, but don’t let that turn you off. The whole dining experience was worth more than just the food (which was exceptional) you have time while he prepares your meal to soak in your surroundings and enjoy the unique decorations of the dining room. The owner is clearly very passionate about his cooking and is very excited to share. I wish I were lucky enough to be a local, because I would definitely come back.

Never have I ever had a culinary experience like I had here. I was recommended to come here by a local and wow was I impressed with the overall experience. The location is small and located in the heart of Anchorage making it easily accessible. This is a one person shop as Sam is the host, server, order taker, chef, dish washer, cashier, and on top of it all he sings karaoke. Make sure to plan a good chunk of your evening. Plan to sit, enjoy the quaint little place, making new acquaintances, and eating authentic Japanese food that is not catered to the Americanized pallet. I will forever be grateful for experience I had here and I hope to return soon. I 100% recommend. Also, please call in advance if you are planning a party of 3 or more. You will be turned away as he will not be able to accommodate.

Being told “I don’t serve you” after 1.5 hours waiting. I had been sitting there from 6:30 for about an hour and a half, nothing, just waiting. Then I was kicked out when the chef/owner came to me and told me, “sashimi only with drinks, I cannot serve you.” I ordered a sashimi plate and some yakitori. I was completely confused and shocked. I thought ok maybe then I only get the yakitori. A few minutes later, he came to me and just repeated it again “I don’t serve you. My restaurant policy is only serving these dishes to people who drink.” and asked me “do you understand”. Nothing else — just told me to “go somewhere else”, that he wouldn’t serve me. I was too shocked to even say a word. I’ve never had this kind of experience at any restaurant in the world. It was a horrible situation. I chose this restaurant based on online reviews saying it was a cozy, cute, one-chef place, but instead I had this frustrating and even embarrassing and awkward experience. Really ruined my day. At the very least, there could have been some respect — if you don’t serve non-drinkers, tell the customer when they arrive or when they order. I had placed my order with a young lady who seemed to be a helper/waitress after an hour or so of pure waiting, and I never expected what happened afterwards. A one‑chef restaurant are great if they reflect personal style and have unique rules — but personal style should never cross into arrogance and disrespect. Guests deserve clarity and basic courtesy.

Tucked away in a cozy little spot, this restaurant instantly transported me to the backstreets of Japan, like stumbling upon your favorite hidden local gem. Sam, the owner, was a one-man show, effortlessly taking on the roles of host, chef, and entertainer. You can tell he’s got years of experience in the way he skillfully preps and cooks each dish, with an attention to detail and care in what he's going to present. Since seafood is their specialty, we went all in trying multiple types of sashimi and grilled fish. The sashimi was fresh and bursting with clean, delicate flavors, while the cooked dishes were delicious as well and seasoned to perfection. Sam’s personality made the whole experience even better. He made us feel like regulars. Between the atmosphere, the outstanding food, and Sam’s hospitality, this place easily earns a spot on our “must return” list.

RED FLAG! BE AWARE! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Terrible service from start to finish. I waited over an hour just for an appetizer, and my main dish never even arrived. I finally gave up and walked out. They make you wait forever—felt like three lifetimes for food to come. On top of that, anyone who walked in without a reservation was immediately turned away in a very rude manner. Overall, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Definitely not worth your time or money.

If you are looking for a nice place with lovely atmosphere stop looking you found it. We arrived with no reservation so we had to wait about 20 min. We eventually were seated at a booth. It took a minute for our server to arrive but once she did Anna was very attentive and provided us some suggestions. We ordered: halibut bites, bone marrow, stuffed mushrooms, chowder flight and waygu burger. Halibut bites were 10/10 so good. Flavorful but super light! The chowder flight was quite good. The base of each claim chowder is bacon based. Not sure if this matters. There are only 4 chowders on the menu and the flight consist of 3 😒 I think the flight should just be all 4 and price it either the same or up it to $10. I had never had bone marrow and always wanted to try it so yep ordered it. To be honest it was different than I expected. I was thinking it would be creamy but it was more gelatinous. It was flavorful but I feel it was steep price for what I received. Would not order again. My friend said the burger was perfection and wouldn’t change a thing and the mushrooms were a lovely flavorful delight to eat. Thoughts…to have “chowder” in the name of the establishment you would think you would have more than four chowders. Maybe the head chef can put a spin on the whole chowder and thing and maybe add a Caribbean Chowder (Caribbean spices throughout) or a specialty chowder of the month because again 4 chowders just doesn’t seem like enough choices. If you like pasta they have a lot on the menu. I would definitely say give them a try because again this review is based on my experience and food palate. My bill for the marrow (27), halibut (24), and flight (9) was $60

Excellent chowder.We got the flight of chowder which was excellent. A great start to the meal. We ordered halibut and fries, and fresh halibut with a pesto pasta. The halibut was excellent. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was good. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I will go again if in the area.

Man, my first meal in Anchorage was perfect! I had the Brisket Burger med rare and ended dumping the bun and just mashing the perfectly cooked patty. My wife had the Caesar salad and she said the dressing was the best she can remember having. Couple of beers, excellent chowder flight and now I’m ready for bed. HIGHLY recommend this place

Fantastic experience! We ordered the Halibut bites, Burrata bruschetta, Fried goat cheese & brie bites, and Chowder flight for starters. They were all incredible. Then we got the scallops carbonara and butter poached Halibut. Everything was incredible! Our server was attentive and had great recommendations. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I was delighted! Took the wife here for a date and I loved everything about this place! Clean, classy, and every person on staff is super friendly wanting to take care of you. Great job to all with hospitality given here! So the food! We had the flight board sampler of three different chowders. This is the way to go for a first time or when you can’t decide!! I was in love at first bite, actually at first sight of the flight board! What a beautiful sight! Then I had a fresh dinner salad, Bairdi crab, and grilled corn as main entree. I have not had crab in a while and I am so glad I got it here! Everything you need is included to get all the meat possible out of it! Wife had the halibut fish and chips. I tasted it too and no surprise it was also delicious. All food exceeded my expectations! Thank you!! I will return and tell others to go here!

My only gripe was no full bar. My wife and I did enjoy a nice bottle of wine though. Cynthia was our server and she was outstanding. The food, amazing. Probably the best fish and chips ever. Fries, double fried and perfect. We tried the chowder sampler, minus the Manhattan one. The three we tried were all so good. It was hard to pick a favorite. Can't go wrong here.

I am absolutely shocked at how many good reviews that are being left because our experience couldn’t be farther from a 4.5, we came in as a party of seven for my mom’s birthday on a Sunday night. Our server was slow, forgot two of our appetizers we ordered and had to remind her which they came out after our main course, and the food was blander then bland. We ordered 7 different entrees and they all had very little flavor or seasonings. Mind you the special was $60 and zero appeal to it visually, my mom didn’t even want to take a photo of it. Our waters were never refilled the entire service, I had to plead for sauce for my bowl due to the amount of dryness and was told after receiving it ten minutes later “sorry my kitchens a mess” upon arrival. We were checked on three times at most during the three hour dinner and it truly felt like we were not considered at all due to the automatic gratuity that was added to our party of 18 percent. For the high prices and terrible service we won’t consider dinning in again, trying to be fine dining but failing.

Food was fantastic. Some of the best crab legs I've ever had. The shrimp was a bit on the fishy side. They do not offer cocktail sauce. Server was very kind and attentive. Atmosphere and tables were very minimalist but again the food was really good.

Starting off Caitlin greeted us with waters and a smile, within the first few minutes of us being sat for our 7pm reservation this evening which went from 5 to 6 people which they accommodated with ease, there was no wait and we were seated as soon as we walked in at our expected reservation time. The service was impeccable from her from the start until the very end! Always making sure we had drinks filled, extra napkins and was there to answer any questions we had about the menu. Even though we were a little loud and rambunctious she did amazing and was one of the best dinning experiences I have had here in Alaska! Now down to the food! Everything was amazing and tasted so fresh! We started out with the loaded tots and wings combo and boy was it gone within minutes of it hitting the table! By far the best crab boil I’ve had in all 50 states! I ordered snow crab and king crab with potatoes corn and a side of garlic noodles that was to die for! But if you do go don’t forget to ask for Caitlin if you really want to experience the entirety of Inferno! So again thank you to Caitlin for really making the experience there possible!

The difference from other seafood boil is that there is no set combination such as that your order already comes with mussels, clams, shrimp, and sausage or other stuffs. We ordered the reindeer sausage and corn on the side, but when it came to our table the sausage and the corns were mixed with the boil. Still pretty good experience, just a bit pricey. It's like $20 per king crab legs. There were only four legs in the boil. Good thing we ordered the reindeer sausage and corn as additional in the boil.

We really wanted some crab legs while in Alaska. Inferno did not disappoint. They were out of king crab, so got a bag with snow crab, shrimp, potatoes, and smoked sausage. Very generous portions, especially on the shrimp. (Would recommend one person order the shrimp, its enough to feed 2 or 3 people). The crab was amazing. Was disappointed they didn't have cocktail sauce, maybe thats a Midwest thing. Would definitely recommend coming and getting the crab legs. Left stuffed!

We had a group of 8 & Mariah was our waitress! Somehow our reservation was lost, but Mariah got us a table and even with the additional wait time our food was excellent!! I think our party tried every variety of flavors and all the food was delicious. The spice level was hot enough for our preference. 10/10 will come back again! For sure get a reservation though, because the lines are long but the food is worth the wait!!

Extreeeemely delicious!! Everything we ordered was literally finger licking good , highly recommended! 15 out of 10 . Excellent customer service and friendly staff and atmosphere! Me and my wife were in town visiting and was glad to be served by our knowledgeable server (Mariah). Her inviting and friendly attitude is one of the main reasons we will definitely be stopping by again next time we’re in town ! The food and the friendly staff I can’t help but to praise as I consider myself to be a seafood boil connoisseur and if you are anything like me ; going here ; you will Never be disappointed!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Went there and the vibe was amazing. Friendly staff. Ordered the tobiko crab fried rice. I HIGHLY recommend that dish. Had the oyster. Main dish we order snow crab king crab muscles and shrimp with head on. Sauce on the side. Every dish we ordered was amazing. Highly recommend to have dinner there. Please make reservations ahead of time.

If I could give more stars, I would!! 🌟 The owners were very friendly! As well as those working. This has been the best meal of our trip so far! We had zero spice on our boil, so it was just Cajun seasoning. And the best homemade chocolate cake 😍 the cake was fluffy and the icing was smooth and rich. I would highly recommend eating here!!

I stumbled in here upon a friend's recommendation. It absolutely lived up to the reputation. I only had two available meal slots for my time in Anchorage and I spent both at Cajun Corner. :) Shannon and Jared were both SO friendly and did such an amazing job caring for me despite a steady stream of customers. I also loved both the patio seating and the indoor space. I was struck by how clean the restaurant is - particularly impressive given what they serve!! What the menu doesn't tell you is that they sell fresh cakes here! They live on the countertop under gorgeous glass bells and are available until they sell out. Given that I was here at 3 pm and 8 pm, I can definitely assure you they sell _out_! It gets busy in the evenings but service stays impeccably kind. I chose two separate seafood boils: corn/andouille for my afternoon snack, and king crab + potatoes and corn for my dinner. Both were tasty, extremely generous portions, and well worth the price. I also had an IPA on tap, which came in a perfectly frozen mug. Keep in mind that seafood boils take time to cook, so be prepared for a bit of a wait (it's a feature, not a bug!). Highly recommend this spot!

Fantastic place! It's a must stop in Anchorage. The first thing you notice is the aroma that wafts from the front door. Seafood, spices, friendly staff and just simple comfort is how to sum it up in a nutshell. IPA is offered, wines and sangria. Homemade desserts so don't forget to save room. Bonus was not hard on the wallet either 👍🏽 9/10 would highly recommend. Missing one because I'm not a huge fan of seafood but the rest of my party was.

Absolutely delicious Cajun food! This was actually better than the bucket I had in New Orleans and the staff was super friendly. I’ll definitely be back again next time. The red velvet cake was also to die for! 10/10!!!

Fantastic Creole food in downtown Anchorage. The lobster dip was ok but the bread that comes with it is next level. I loved my fried shrimp and my wife loved her fish.

I recently visited and had the opportunity to try several dishes from their menu, which features a variety of well-thought-out items. I ordered the filet steak, requesting it to be cooked medium, but it arrived closer to medium-well. Despite this, the steak was still quite flavorful, though the dish was overwhelmed by a heavy-handed amount of sauce. It drowned out the natural flavors of the meat, which was disappointing. I had also opted for the "Oscar Style" preparation, expecting fresh, succulent king crab lump meat. However, it was served with a mediocre crab cake on top, which fell short of the experience I was hoping for. The accompanying potato lacked seasoning, and with no salt or pepper on the table, it felt like the final touches were missing. My partner tried the Fig, Goat Cheese and caramelized onion pizza. While the flavors were intriguing, the sweetness of the fig dominated the dish, similar to the sauce issue with my steak. We found that the balance of flavors could have been improved to enhance the overall enjoyment. Unfortunately, service didn’t help redeem the meal. Our server didn’t check on us after delivering our dishes, nor did they come back to take another drink order. The inattentive service paired with the imbalance in flavors left us with an overall experience that was decent, but far from stellar. For those seeking a trendy spot to enjoy a meal and drinks, Corks and Hops has a nice ambiance, but the attention to detail—both in service and execution of the dishes—could use some improvement.

The wine selection really is delicious. I liked the pairings of food and wine. The price was a bit high for the quality I expected from the ambiance. The atmosphere was lovely. I expected more for the $17 shrimp add on. But, I also harvest my own shrimp in Alaska. That could have altered my experience, and I should have never cheated on my freezer 😁 full of collosal sized shrimps. 🦐

We had such an amazing experience at Corks and Hops in Eagle River! Our realtor, Vivian, was guest bartending for the night and invited us to stop by—so glad we did! The atmosphere is incredible: classy, modern chic, and with a touch of romantic vibes. It’s bright, spacious, and welcoming, with cozy seating that makes you want to stay awhile. We headed straight to the bar and grabbed a menu, and while we weren’t hungry (ate a late lunch), we couldn’t resist ordering drinks—and wow, their drink menu is impressive! It’s packed with variety and culture, offering something for every taste. Vivian was the best bartender—so friendly and fun! I tried a new glass of wine, and Joe went for a new beer. Both were so good that we ended up having two rounds each! We also decided to share the bacon mac and cheese, and let me just say—it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly indulgent! We’ll definitely be recommending Corks and Hops to everyone we know. I have been to corks and hops many times for dates and also for a nice a relaxing fun times with friends. This is a place that you want to go with you want to relax with your spouse or good friends, enjoy great food, deserts etc… The atmosphere here is the best in Eagle River in my opinion. The decor of how the bar and wine is displayed and the rustic feel is always a breathe of fresh air! I’ve had multiple entrees and deserts and all of them are great! If I had to suggest something it would be the Pizzia. I’m normally a beer guy and don’t get me wrong their beers are great but I love the pairings that you can make with the vast red wine menu! Deserts are great and I’d recommend this place of course for birthday’s. Cheers from me to you!

We went for the first time for our anniversary last night. Wasn't terribly busy but service was a tad slow, although the server was polite and friendly. Beer was great! Get the cream Porter! I loved my 45 day dry aged ribeye, but the veggies were cold. My wife loved her filet mignon but the bernaise sauce was overwhelming so get it on the side. The dessert and charcuterie board were good. Overall, a lil pricey but what isn't these days. I'll definitely eat here again.

Very disappointed! Had a great atmosphere and nice decor. I went in for Saturday breakfast and had the Sacks Skillet two eggs, sunny side up – served over sautéed kale, onion, garlic & tomato potatoes, warm lemon basil vinaigrette, feta. The potatoes were overcooked along with the eggs. The burnt potatoes gave the dish a very bitter taste. My waitress seemed to forget about me since it was just me and not once did she ask if my food was ok.

Lunch was not that good. Had the club with salad. Service was slow. When I finally got the food, both the salad and dressing was warm like it had been sitting under the warmer for a while. The sandwich was not that great. Worse of all the lettuce was soggy. The fresh orange juice was the only good thing. 2 stars.

A fantastic restaurant with incredible food, beautiful presentation, and an amazing atmosphere. I went here once and ordered coffee and a few small plates, then went back over a month later and the bartender remembered my order. If I could afford it I would gladly eat here for every meal. If you visit anchorage without dining at Sacks you are severely missing out.

We had dinner here one night during our 2 week stay in Alaska It was one of our favorite meals. The scallops with mashed potatoes and veggies were excellent. The only thing that was not as good as other places was the seafood chowder. It was thin and not as tasty but overall a great experience.

We arrived at 7:40 pm meeting a couple we were hosting from our company. HDR Engineering. We ordered as soon as our server came to our table. 9:10 pm our dinners finally arrived. We asked to have the couples dinners to go!!! They had their 2 year old daughter with them. We stayed and had some of our dinner. It wasn't even hot!!! We watched other tables get their food, and 3 tables that came in after us got their food before us. The service sucked!! The server should have been on top of this and she wasn't. We aren't sure who was to blame, kitchen or server. We bring clients and upper management here from different states and this has never happened. Not sure if we will return. Very disappointed in the service. Food was just ok, nothing to brag about.

Delicious food, fresh décor Our party of three diners was delighted to find Sacks Café in downtown Anchorage on June 18, 2015. We wanted to stay away from the large eateries geared to groups of tourists staying in downtown Anchorage hotels. Sacks Café was everything we wanted it to be - our entrees were inventive and delicious, the décor was attractive, service was excellent and the price of the meal was most reasonable considering the quality of the food. We started with a nice green salad and crab cakes as appetizers, both of which were very good. For entrees, two out of our party of three had the Alaska halibut ($35), the third diner had the Alaska Copper River Red Salmon ($28). Both were delicious, but all agreed that the salmon was superb, the best we ever had. We shared a lovely lemon tart dessert recommended by our waitress. It was both tart and sweet, with tart predominating. A perfect ending to a great meal!

Beautiful paintings, good food, excellent dessert. Also, their focaccia was a nice change after tasting the dry, bland bread over at the Brewhouse. Their Blackened Scallop and Shrimp salad was very good, however, the candied walnuts on it didn't make sense (their sweetness was unnecessary, and even unwelcome, due to the sweet/tangy dressing already on the salad). The chocolate creme brulee was to-die-for though!

Very convenient. They carry everything you might need. I was staying at Hotel Captain Cook which is literally across the street from the Last Frontier convenience store, and we did our last minute snack and drink shopping before our long Denali road trip. amazing variety of snacks, personal items, medicine, and drinks. They even have gifts and souvenirs. We will be back to shop more.

Great little shop with everything you need! Always clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with snacks, drinks, and essentials. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s the perfect quick stop when you’re on the go. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying the food is delicious and i love that they serve fresh fish! I was hoping for better quality fries but not bad. I ordered from the spenard carnival and got the salmon cakes and paid for an extra side of the spicy Mayo. After about 20 minutes, I was noticing people who ordered after me get their food. They yelled out a name close to mine, and I let them know I was still waiting. At 30 minutes I asked for an update and they said they mixed up the orders. I was a bit frustrated as I'm now running late past my lunch break, but mistakes happen so I recounted my order and she put it on the list. It took over 45 minutes to receive my order, it didn't seem expedited for the amount of time i was waiting as they were passing out orders that matched mine, and I still didn't receive the spicy sauce. They didn't apologize at first but they did give me a coupon for my next visit. The food is great but overall an okay experience for me.

I saw their menu, asked if the fish was local, she said her brother catches all the fish himself, and I said "One order of fish tacos please". I was vegetarian but no longer now. I missed local, fresh meats and they have good, local, fresh meats!

Needed more spices. Though good.
