Glacier Brewhouse is a lively restaurant with a strong emphasis on wood decor, offering a menu featuring local seafood and wood-grilled meats alongside their own house-brewed beer. The oatmeal stout, served on nitro, presents deep and velvety flavors with subtle notes of coffee and roasted flavors. For an enhanced experience, the oak-aged version aged in Jim Beam barrels offers increased depth of flavor with hints of whiskey and cherry-like fruitiness.
Must do restaurant. Went after Princess Cruise, we beat the crowd but it gets busy. Saturday so had the seafood scramble and it was outstanding! Cheesy grits was my side and also great. Co diner said seafood salad was excellent. Burger and pizza was also good. Didn't try any beers but all hose made. Try it!

We visited this place twice during our trip to Anchorage, and honestly — it’s the best spot in all of Alaska! The food is absolutely outstanding — the halibut is next-level delicious, perfectly cooked and fresh as it gets. The beer selection is on fire 🔥, and the crispy potatoes are simply amazing — the kind of side dish you actually remember! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is super friendly, and everything feels authentic Alaskan. It’s the kind of restaurant where you walk out smiling and already planning to come back. I give it my highest recommendation. If you’re in Anchorage, don’t miss this place — it’s a must-visit!

Based on a trolley tour guide recommendation, we stopped in for lunch. An awesome beer selection and a full bar were a nice surprise. We sat at the bar and Heather provided excellent service. She was so pleasant and helpful with menu selections. We started with the calamari (steaks not rings); I had grilled salmon and husband chose shrimp & grits. There were no disappointments with any of our selections.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ We had the opportunity to dine at Glacier Brewhouse while visiting downtown Anchorage, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was inviting, with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Seating was comfortable, and the layout of the restaurant gave it a cozy yet upscale feel. Service was excellent—our server was friendly, attentive, and timely with both orders and refills. The staff handled everything professionally, which added to the positive impression. As for the food, we ordered the fish and chips, which we had been craving throughout our trip. While the fish tasted good, the portion size was underwhelming, especially considering the price point. Coming from South Texas, where fresh seafood is abundant and generously served, we expected a more robust serving—especially this far north where one might assume we’re closer to the source. We understand every region has its standards, but the value didn’t quite align with our expectations, particularly for a dish as classic and simple as fish and chips. That said, Glacier Brewhouse is still worth visiting for the atmosphere and service alone. We might return to try other menu items, but next time, we’ll explore other options for seafood.

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and hoped the 20 minute wait would be worth it. Oh, was it ever! The service, food and atmosphere were excellent!! We started with the pretzel breadsticks fondue, which was so great! My husband got the King Salmon special. He said it was the best salmon he’s ever had and would eat it over having a steak any day! I had the shrimp and grits and I was in awe! They were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had them from Florida to New Orleans and now Alaska and these were amazing! The combination of flavors were incredible! I also added a side of asparagus to my meal. It was grilled and seasoned to perfection! Our server was very attentive and great with recommendations. We will be coming back very soon! I do recommend getting a reservation if you don’t have time to wait. Thankfully, we did and it was well worth it!

I have always loved Glacier Brewhouse, especially as a place to bring out of town guests for amazing Alaska seafood. Last night I had THE BEST king salmon I’ve had in my entire life. I’ve always received great service. Be warned, it gets loud in this lively restaurant, so it may not be the best place to have a quiet conversation (or, be warned if your dining partners are hard of hearing). But if you want an amazing meal in Alaska, this one is at the top of my list. I do recommend reservations if you’re trying for an evening, weekend meal. I also tried the pickle martini last night for a change up, and if you’re a pickle fan and you love dirty martinis, I’d recommend trying.

This place was a random stop on a very beautiful Sunday afternoon. The host, the waiter and even the chefs were super friendly here. I ordered a clam chowder and I can say that this was by far the best clam chowder I’ve eaten in my life. This place is a must visit when you’re in Anchorage, Alaska. Thank you guys for the amazing experience! Will be coming back.

Outstanding dinner spot. Lots of delicious seafood options and everything we ate was phenomenal. We both wanted to try the king crab so we got a 10oz add on which was perfect. The appetizer sampler was also a great pick to try a few different appetizer options- I couldn't pick my favorite from the trio. The brewhouse itself also has a great selection of different beers. My favorite was the raspberry wheat. Highly recommend giving this spot a try for a "nicer" dinner in Anchorage.

Simon & Seafort's Saloon & Grill, affectionately known as Simons, is a renowned restaurant in downtown Anchorage offering breathtaking views of the Alaska Range and Cook Inlet. Since its opening in 1978, it has become a local favorite with a loyal following. The menu features delectable aged steaks and fresh seafood, including signature dishes like Asiago-almond crusted scallops and Norton Sound Alaskan red king crab legs.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Memorable Dining Experience with a Touch of Nostalgia Simon & Seafort’s Saloon & Grill truly delivered a memorable dining experience. From the moment our party of five walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly, which set the tone for a great evening. The ambiance is something special — it carries a nostalgic 70s vibe with a touch of elegance that makes the space feel both classic and fancy. It’s the kind of place that transports you back in time, in the best way possible. I ordered the 16oz ribeye, and I have to say — it was cooked to absolute perfection. Juicy, flavorful, and expertly prepared. While the smashed potatoes didn’t quite hit the mark for me due to an unusual taste I couldn’t quite place, it didn’t take away from the overall meal. The rest of our group had a fantastic experience with dishes ranging from the fish and chips to some of the best hamburgers we’ve had in a while. One of the standout features of our evening was the window seating overlooking the water — it added a peaceful and scenic backdrop to our meal. Simon & Seafort’s is definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a unique and satisfying dining experience in Anchorage.

The security guard at the Museum of Natural History gave us a recommendation. So we arrived at your restaurant on the recommendation of Kelvin. From the time we were seated until the time we left the restaurant we were treated in nothing less than Grand fashion. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with offering recommendations on appetizers as well as entrees. Her recommendations were spot on. The calamari for an appetizer. The smoked Cherry single batch Bourbon drink as well as a blueberry mojito. They were mixed to perfection. The halibut cheeks as well as the black cod were cooked to perfection and definitely to our liking. The sides were absolutely delicious. Easily one of our better meals we had during our two-week stay in Alaska. We certainly appreciate the recommendation, we certainly appreciate the attentiveness of our server and the quality of the food served. We will definitely return when an Anchorage again

This was probably our best meal in Anchorage. We couldn’t get a reservation in the main room so we ate in the bar. It was a great option as we had a great view and a great server - Lacey! Don’t let the unpretentious front fool you. The Smoke&Bourbon drink was cool and delicious, and the beer and wine were great. The calamari was tasty albeit a bit heavy on the breading. Excellent crab stuffed halibut which was big enough to split! Really enjoyed the short walk to get here from downtown. This is not one to miss. VictorB

Amazing restaurant in Anchorage. If you can’t get a reservation, you can sit open seating in the bar which we did. A lot of seating in the bar, including overlooking the water. Get there early if you want those seats. Service in the bar area was excellent. The sourdough bread that came to the table was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful and the Caesar salad was very good. A lot of lemon in the Caesar dressing, but it really turned out well. Got the halibut cheeks and I’ve never had halibut this good. You could tell it was incredibly fresh and the texture was amazing as it was prepared perfectly.
Tom K — Google review
Came here on a week day for early dinner, it was packed, so family and I had to take the Saloon area. While it was cozy, it was terribly noisy and busy. Food was ok, nothing special really, (the calamari was chewy), definitely overpriced. The drinks however were great, could’ve had more if the bar had more staff (again terribly busy), and our server was nice. Not worth the visit in my opinion, solid 3 stars.
Denver G — Google review
Excellent place on the first floor of three-story office building. Weight staff and service was top-notch from the drink never running empty to the warm bread served before the meal.. beautiful views facing the harbor. There was four of us and we each ordered four different meals and the seafood was perfectly cooked.. I would highly recommend this place, but it is pricey.
Robert H — Google review
I have visited several of the longstanding restaurants in downtown Anchorage, and this establishment distinguishes itself as a venue of genuine fine cuisine. The dishes were refined, flavorful, and thoughtfully composed, reflecting the expertise of a skilled chef. Service was exemplary, with our server, Andrew, providing attentive and professional care throughout the evening. The only shortcoming was the crème brûlée, which did not meet the same high standard as the rest of the meal. However, as it was graciously offered on a complimentary basis, this minor imperfection did not detract from the overall experience. The restaurant also offers a remarkable view, which enhanced the ambiance considerably. In sum, I was thoroughly pleased with the experience and would confidently recommend this restaurant as one of the premier dining options in downtown Anchorage!
Dr. T — Google review
6 of us were on a trip and looked online for a nice seafood restaurant. This place came promising, we tried booking. Not available for the same day. Still we went there for a dinner on a Wednesday. Place was full so we got our place near the bar. I will say I was not impressed as the online Google rating was. The table looked clean but needed a second touch. When ordering, they said we just ran out of that fish. Balance orders came. However, we had to ask and wait for the plates and cutlery. As to the calamari, it was more breadcrumbs and fried. On a positive note they helped us share food. All the issues maybe because of overwhelming busyness. Not a bad place to try.

Jack Sprat is a popular restaurant in Girdwood, Alaska, known for its creative dishes and vegan options. The airy, wood-dominated space offers stunning views of the mountains through floor-to-ceiling windows. The warm golden glow from within adds to the welcoming ambiance. The restaurant caters to both vegetarians and carnivores with a variety of meat and vegetable options on the menu. Additionally, there are plenty of vegan choices available.
This is a great spot to eat for quality food, vibes, etc. I kinda wish they had more to their menu but they still offer great food. Their burger is one of their best options (I’m sure their salmon is better I just haven’t tried it). What really makes them great is they have a high quality dessert! I feel I can never find a good dessert at a restaurant because it’s always some dry crusty cookie/cake with corn syrupy ice cream. Jack Sprat has a great chocolate olive oil cake with mascarpone! It’s perfect and would definitely get again.
Kate S — Google review
This was honestly the best meal I've had in a while. Our server was incredibly welcoming. Our meals were amazing. The Mama Mia! might be the winner. I appreciated the extensive kids menu. The Birds and the Trees was a great healthy option. Not sure how they cooked those carrots, but they were to die for!
Nicole W — Google review
Edit: changing my review. Previously had posted some frustration about showing up to a private dinner. However, we made it down the following weekend and were sat immediately. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I had the ribeye which was excellent. My daughter had the kids chicken, rice and broccoli dish and my wife had the bipimbop. Everything was great and all the food we saw coming out to other tables looked fantastic as well. Worth the 2nd attempt for sure and would love to come again. Prices were fair as well.

Great local spot. Ordered the halibut cheeks lettuce wraps🥰. Salmon bowl, and sausage pasta. Food was great, service was pretty slow, the gentleman next to us sent back his food and ordered something else and it took over 20 min to get his next dish.

Amazing dinner and great service from Ian! This gets crowded so enjoy a drink on the patio, or shop at the gift shop next door. When you get seated have the tagliatelle with Ragu and the Alaska burger! Both are excellent! The desert options are fantastic so leave room for one! VictorB

This by far was my favorite meal while in Anchorage. Perfectly cooked, fresh and creative. I was in a group and everyone loved their entrees and apps. The Mama Mia is best bolognese I’ve had anywhere and the salmon is just perfect.

i’m so glad I decided to look up restaurants on the way home from Seward instead of getting back to Amsterdam where everything was probably already closed. I called ahead to this restaurant because we were only gonna have 40 minutes before they close. They said come on in. Salmon was fantastic, also got yummy bimbap bowl and a cider on tap. Insanely beautiful views! Great customer service. Great music playlist for this “hip” millennial. 🤗

My friends and I arrived at Jack Spray after it was closed but the gentleman working allowed us in and let us order rose! It was such a nice gesture and created a fun memory for my friends as I as we were visiting Alaska on vacation! The rose was great and the atmosphere made it all the more magical. It was the perfect stop for a quick drink before exploring more of Girdwood. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Girdwood area!

Amazing banana foster egg roll. Duck was good but not enough fried rice to accompany it. My friends scallop mac and cheese was great too but the scallops were kind of small. Overall delicious, and amazing service.

Over the top food and drinks, artfully crafted to mimic an Upscale LA or NY experience. Very nice for special occasions. Modern food, incredibly attentive service with stellar recommendations. I’d term it posh but not pretentious in style, quite nice without feeling too fancy- well worth going at least once

amazing service and food! i went in for a solo dinner right when they opened and the staff was very sweet and attentive. i started with the tuna over crispy rice and it was very flavorful and a generous amount of tuna. the rice was the perfect texture, crispy but just soft enough to pair with the tuna. the steak frites was delicious. my steak cooked perfectly rare and the fries tasted very fresh. the banana foster cheesecake egg rolls were the perfect dessert. like actually insane once the server put them on my table it only took her like 3 minutes to take my cleared plate. i ordered them with vanilla ice cream which i highly suggest.

Great downtime-Anchorage dining experience with delicious, Asian-fusion food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. The restaurant offers many gluten-free and vegetarian options on the menu.

The dish I got was the scallop Mac and cheese and what a treat. Not nearly as overtly oily as it might suggest with the addition of peppers. My aunt got the green curry which she loved. Fair warning the hot sauce they make in house is HOT but so flavorful. Fantastic evening. Worth the money.

Perched atop the Captain Cook Hotel in downtown Anchorage, Crow's Nest is a high-end restaurant known for its French and New American cuisine, extensive wine list, and breathtaking views. Named as an homage to the top of the tallest mast of ships from the late 18th century, this establishment offers a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere with a business casual dress code.
The Crow’s Nest offers a truly spectacular view of Anchorage—an unforgettable backdrop for our grand finale after a wonderful Alaskan cruise and scenic train ride to Denali. From start to finish, the service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and professional. The food was absolutely outstanding, with every course—from the salad to the dessert—prepared and presented beautifully. The salmon and steak were outstanding. I would highly recommend dining here if you're looking for a memorable culinary experience in Anchorage. Don’t hesitate—you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent restaurant! So glad we were able to snag a reservation here. On clear evenings the 360 view is outstanding. The service was excellent, the wine menu was overwhelming in the best way, and the food was very tasty. My favorite dishes were the halibut and the cheese plate. Highly recommend both of those dishes!
Bailey J — Google review
Absolutely wonderful dinner experience. Dropped $600 including tip, but was so worth it. Local to the area but took a visiting family member to celebrate their birthday. Great service, prompt but not over bearing, never an empty water glass, dishes removed at appropriate times. 10/10 will go back and recommend to family and friends.

The Crow’s Nest will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and now in my 30s I can really appreciate how special it is. The food was incredible, the cocktails were delicious, the caviar was some of the best, and the view was absolutely stunning no matter how many times I’ve seen it. Everything feels elevated but still comfortable, like fine dining without the stuffiness.
Celsea N — Google review
My friends and I had a great experience here celebrating a birthday! The service was top notch and the views from our table were amazing. Each of us enjoyed our meal throughly. They even did something special for my friend’s birthday! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Anchorage!
Kayla F — Google review
The views here over the water at sunset and also downtown are simply spectacular. The food was excellent, featuring a blend of European dishes and preparations, combined with typical Alaskan meats (king crab, salmon, halibut, cod) and some they clearly had to go beyond Alaska to get (angus beef and foie gras). A good variety of side vegetables are available. They are apparently famous for flaming bananas, but we had some kind of chocolate caramel concoction. While it is an expensive restaurant, it is very much worth it. They also have an extensive wine list. Service is very professional and attentive.
C Z — Google review
Amazing restaurant in the Captain Cook Hotel, located on the top floor of the hotel with stunning views. The food and cocktails were superb, our server Jill was outstanding and the atmosphere is professional, yet warm and cozy if that makes sense.

Recently, they collaborated with 49th State Brewing for a special dinner event featuring beer pairings.
The Hunters Pie was very good, highly recommended. My wife had the Cod Tacos and my son had the Blackened Salmon with rice. All the food was delicious. Service was great even though they were busy. It has a very nice outdoor area too.

Went here while in town with family, what a great place. Several of the in-laws were questionable and turned out to be the best meals while in town. Grant gave great suggestions and changed my wife’s mind on the halibut. The horseradish crusted was delicious and I had the Hunters pie. I love me some shepherds pie and this took it to the next level. Several had the seared ahi and said it was the best ahi they have ever had. Thank you for ending out Alaska trip on a very high note. Cheers!

Visited Humpy’s and was not disappointed! The smoked salmon dip was hands down my favorite, however the halibut fish and chips were definitely another. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. I’ll be sure to visit again, whenever I plan to make my next trip to Anchorage:)

We were given this restaurant as a recommendation from our bus driver while driving to Anchorage. It turned out to be a great hit! We thought the food was great! We got the halibut and chips, the patty, the crab roll. Omg they were all delicious! Great food, great place to stop in for a bite to eat. Next time o go back to Alaska, will stop in.

We had the halibut tacos and the halibut burger and both were great. The place was very busy but had a great vibe. It’s a restaurant and sports bar. It’s not loud so you are able to talk. We were not there when there was live music. We went on a Wednesday night.

People referred me here as a “dive bar,” but I didn’t see anything “dive” about it. Great service and delicious food. I arrived too early for the dinner menu, but the halibut fish and chips were terrific. Highly recommended!

We had the Golden Crab, Crab Roll, Crab Patty Melt, and Caesar Salad — everything was outstanding! Fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. The place is super friendly and absolutely worth recommending!
Maty T — Google review
Gonna start with this... TRY THE CALAMARI! Not sure what sort of crack they put in their seasoning but it was exceptional! On the outside - crunchy! On the inside succulent (only word I can think of!) Even the aioli was spiced perfectly! This was an absolute hit! Ordered the halibut tacos and they were good - maybe a tad underwhelming for me in that halibut is a heavy/fleshy fish and I felt like it could have been seasoned slightly better. It was supposed to be slightly blackened but I didn't taste that. The aioli was OK and the candied jalapenos didn't taste candied! Overall it worked and the portions were excellent! This dish came with multi coloured tortilla chips and salsa which I actually thought were devine! They had a nice saltiness to them that complimented the tacos! The sockeye salmon burger was good but perhaps a touch overcooked. The fries that came with it were good. Service - excellent! The staff that served us was excellent! Tried a beer on their rotational taps which was really good! This place is probably what it is hyped up to be in the evenings with the beer flowing and the food following! With live music - I can not imagine how this place would not be an instant Anchorage favourite!

Spenard Roadhouse is a vibrant and casual eatery that offers a diverse menu featuring dishes like Thai curry, burgers, and pizza. The bar at Spenard Roadhouse boasts an impressive selection of small-batch bourbons and cocktails, including house-infused spirits.
We loved the atmosphere here. The playlist was good. It got louder when more people came in, but it was the buzz of everyone talking normally, not people hollering to be heard over the din. The staff was very nice. The drinks were delicious. I got the Rhubarbara Streisand and my wife got the Orange Sunryse with gin instead of whiskey. My wife got the Reindeer Scramble with tots. She said it was delicious. The eggs were seasoned. It was spicy, but not too spicy. She made a point to note how incredibly fresh all the produce is. I got the Veggie Benedict with a side of mac n cheese. Usually when they say pesto is an ingredient, you can barely taste it. Not this time!! And the mac n cheese.... omg chef's kiss!!! The sauce was creamy, the crumb on top was flavorful but without being too salty, the noodles were just right. I eat a lot of bennies and a LOT of mac n cheese. This was by far the BEST benny and the BEST mac n cheese I've ever had out. 1000/10 most highly recommend

After living in Anchorage for over 10 years, I finally tried Spenard Roadhouse on 27 June. I am kicking myself in the @$$ for not trying it out sooner. The staff were great and the food was amazing. We had calamari and beet carpaccio for appetizers and halibut & fries, shrimp & grits, salmon burger, regular burger, and strawberry shortcake to top off the meal. Everyone loved their food and we all will be visiting again soon.

Family friendly, looks small on the outside, but seems much bigger inside. And there are several places to sit. We went for dinner and were able to sit at the bar without a wait. They had great drink specials and food was out of this world!! SOO DELICIOUS!! By far my favorite restaurant on our trip to AK. The menu had a little bit of everything. I wished we were staying another night to eat here again.

Absolutely wonderful service! I forgot the name of our server, but she came to every table in her section to ensure they had water. Very kind people and wonderful family friendly atmosphere as always! My sister and me had the Mac & Cheese and delicious Jambalaya bowl!

I cannot eat at an establishment that has restrooms which smell worse than any gas station or hardware store or truck stop I have ever visited. The men’s room smells of 5 year old urine. If your cleaner is incapable of sanitizing the restrooms I cannot fathom what the kitchen looks like. If you could smell this review it would stank like a mix of a combo of a Poop cruise/Concert Porta poty/poorly cared for Animal shelter. Do better Spenard Roadhouse what happened to sanitary standards? I read your response. Very unlikely you haven’t heard the restrooms are disgusting, as a matter of fact multiple women I was with said the ladies room was also very bad. So not sure how you’re missing the message. Maybe walk in there some time and check for yourself. I wish you the best, but cleanliness counts.

Bakery
The Bake Shop is a popular seasonal bakery known for its artistic flair and delicious offerings. For over 40 years, it has been a go-to spot for fresh bread, mouthwatering cinnamon rolls, and various breakfast options such as sourdough pancakes made with historic Alaskan sourdough from the Gold Rush Era.
We went a week ago on our way to Homer. We heard the bakery was good so we decided to try it. It is about 10 minutes off the highway. Head up the road past the mercantile shop on the left ( it is about 3-5 minutes after you see the mercantile- head straight). Where the road tees take a left then a right. The place is an order at the counter and they bring it out. There was a line but it moved quick. Even though it was raining we easily got a seat. We split the egg sandwich. My wife does not like sourdough but she raved about this sandwich. On our way back from Seward today after our Homer stop, 4 days later we went for lunch. We both got a cup of soup and sandwich. We thought half sandwich and cup of soup. But it is cup and whole sandwich. Food was great but we could have split it. Service great. Organization great. Clean and relaxing. Would highly recommend if in the area. The picture is of my wife’s cup and sandwich. Navy bean and pastrami. I got pastrami and mushroom. All good.

The rolls everyone raves about are delicious and massive, but they are not really cinnamon rolls. They resemble a Euro-style egg/yeast bread with some raisins scattered in. The icing is light, lemony even, but not thick or oozy. Even the menu board refers to a Sweet Roll or a bun with butter. We came in thinking we were getting cinnamon rolls, surprise! Nope. But worth trying with a hot beverage. The rest of the menu that we didn’t get to try looks really good, prices decent. Loud, boisterous, energetic place. Servers working hard.

Fantastic breakfast selection!! Most delicious sweet roll ever--like a cinnamon roll but with a few raisins, sliced almonds and a sweet glaze . Super ! And free drop coffee for life if you buy their ceramic mug. Definitely check out this place! I tried to update the hours. They are currently open 8-2 Wed thru Sun

Place looks cute and has good rating but food was extremely sub par. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was the smallest driest sandwich I’ve ever had. 2 pieces of bacon, one egg, and one piece of cheese on a burnt piece of sourdough bread for 16 bucks. Would’ve rather ate gas station sushi for breakfast. Other options looked more appealing there but I wouldn’t recommend eating here

Probably one of the better veggie grilled cheeses ive had. Good coffee too. Recommend!

I love this place and will continue to support it but I want to point out a few disappointments that (when you have time) to address. #1 - every time I have ordered sourdough pancakes they've been absolutely the most unique ever. Not last Sunday -- they were not very sour tasting and not as fluffy and stretchy as I have always had since 1978 when Werner watched over everything. I made a point to tell a worker about it and a manager heard me and explained that sourdough is temperamental - sometimes stronger than other batches.(I have never found this before) but OK I'll accept that and just hope for a better batch next time. #2 We purchased a loaf of their bread and found that it seemed to have changed recipes or something. It was NOT as airy, yeasty, bubbly as I recall which has always set it apart from anything else locally produced. I do hope that you will read this review and take note. That's it from me. thanks, Pete

Kincaid Grill is a hidden culinary gem located in west Anchorage, offering a fine dining experience with fresh seafood and expert preparations. The restaurant's menu changes with the seasons to ensure the freshest ingredients are used. In addition to seafood, Kincaid Grill also offers delicious steaks and burgers for non-seafood lovers. The white tablecloth setting and excellent service make it an ideal place for special occasions or simply enjoying a bottle of wine.
If you’re looking for something, a little bit more personal and intimate? Look No-further this place is the spot! 🙌 A heartfelt thank you to Kincaid Grill for an exceptional dining experience! From start to finish, everything was seamless, making for the perfect night out. Making reservations was a breeze, thanks to Julie, who ensured everything was taken care of with her excellent communication and follow-ups. Our server, Aaron, was outstanding—attentive, professional, and thoughtful, making sure our every need was met. The extraordinary dishes were a true testament to the restaurant’s dedication to fine dining. You made my husband’s birthday celebration truly special, and we are so grateful. We can’t wait to return!

I would give this restaurant and chef a Michelin star. The pairing and composition of flavors and textures in most of the dishes is nothing less than genius. The flavors are rich, complex but balanced to perfection. Every bite felt like heaven. The use of high quality fresh ingredients in all dishes is evident. For appetizers we ordered the Gorgonzola fondue, seafood fusion soup cauliflower crème soup and poached pear salad, for the main we ordered the Alaskan halibut and Alaskan black cod which was brilliant. All the portions are generous, the prices for the appetizers soups salads and deserts are surprisingly low vs their superb quality. The ambience and vibe in the restaurant are friendly and welcoming. Our waitress Kimberley was professional energetic and knowledgeable, accurately explaining every dish. Wonderful remarkable experience!

Service was phenomenal. I didn’t tell the server about my fish being watery/mushy, but that’s because it was at the end of the meal. Otherwise the food was great, homemade bread, and good drinks. Atmosphere was a little too fancy for what it is. More casual would of made it better.

slight confusion with dish but customer service was so good- we didn’t care at all. crazy how all of these unsuspecting buildings have some fantastic food once you get in to door. we had salmon special and halibut.

The non descript front is deceptive to what’s inside. When we arrived we wondered if it was open as it didn’t look like much from the outside. However once through the two doors, the ambiance shifts to a cozy interior. Service was impeccable and professional. We started with the Cesar pear salads followed by the scallops and salmon.

Great food and service. I highly recommend the gumbo! Best in Alaska. My friends and I had our 1920s dinner party here and had a fabulous experience!

Kincaid Grill offers a refined dining experience with a menu that’s creative, well-executed in parts, and slightly uneven in others. We started with the Pork Belly Appetizer, which was a standout. The texture was spot-on. Crisp exterior, tender interior, and the combination of hot honey glaze, crispy polenta, frisée & fennel, and pickled red onion created a perfectly balanced bite. This dish set the tone for what we hoped would be an exceptional meal. The Seafood Fusion dish was bold and beautifully composed with king crab and lemongrass-infused coconut milk bringing vibrant, aromatic depth. The only out-of-place element was the shrimp-mushroom wonton, which felt like an odd fit with the rest of the flavors. The Roasted Alaskan Oysters, though technically from the Pacific Northwest, were large, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Another highlight was the Black Cod, glazed with miso and paired with sesame-ginger scallion. It was silky, rich, and expertly cooked, easily one of the top dishes of the evening. Unfortunately, not everything hit the mark. The Alaskan Halibut was underwhelming, bland and lacking acidity or punch, especially compared to the more dynamic dishes on the table. The Gumbo also failed to impress; it felt flat and one-note. On the dessert front, the Crème Brûlée was standard fare, nothing wrong with it, just nothing special. The Cookies & Cream Semifreddo, however, was a fun and satisfying end to the meal, with a creamy, nostalgic sweetness that elevated it above the typical dessert offerings. All in all, Kincaid Grill delivers a thoughtful menu with a few standout dishes that are well worth trying. While not every plate was a hit, the highs were truly memorable and show the kitchen’s potential when everything clicks.

Family restaurant
Located in the heart of Anchorage, Alaska, Thai Orchid is a family-run restaurant that offers an extensive range of authentic Thai dishes. The owner and chef, Somboon Saraphanh, brings her traditional techniques and flavors from Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand to create a wide selection of Thai noodles, curries, and stir-fries. The informal eatery is known for its friendly and accommodating service as well as its delicious food.
We were greeted and were sat down almost immediately. Our waitress was friendly and was very attentive. I ordered the fresh spring rolls and yellow beef curry (mild). The fresh rolls tasted fresh, light and crunchy — i would have loved if they had chili oil on the tables to mix in the with the sauce thats brought out. The curry flavors were wonderful, potatoes were soft and meat was cooked well! I thought the portions were fulfilling and will definitely be back!

Another Thai joint spotted in Anchorage! On this rainy day, I was craving something hot and spicy—so I headed straight here. The sweet lady greeted me with a glass of ice water and a little bonus bowl of instant noodle soup. Love that energy! My go-to dish at every Thai restaurant? Som Tum, Thai papaya salad! Today I went for the Lao-style version with that ultra-fermented fish sauce. Sooo funky, sooo flavorful, sooo GOOD. I ordered it at spice level 4 out of 5, and honestly? Not quite spicy enough. Next time I’m going full throttle, level 5. For my main, I had Yen Ta Fo noodle soup. The broth instantly sent me back to the streets of Bangkok. Thick, chewy rice noodles and all the right toppings, total comfort food. Will I be back? 100%. If you’re in Anchorage and craving Thai food, add this spot to your list. From one Thai to another—i highly recommend!

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Apparently, they now have new owners. The meal I've ordered for years is not the same. Quite frankly it is terrible! Portion is way smaller, sauce not the same, and quality of the pork belly is awful. Such a shame, as it was one of our go to places. *Update (1/3/2025): My wife got me to try the dish again (Order: S1007), and I did appreciate the reply from the owner. The taste is better than my last experience, but the portion size is extremely small for costing over $21.00. (see third picture) As you can tell from picture 1 vs. picture 3, the pork is cooked better than the last time, but the skin is not popped like the previous owners used to do. Based on the portion size, price, & unpopped pork skin, I will keep my 1-star ratings and seek out other restaurants!
Michael T — Google review
The food tasted fine, but our three meals all came out at different enough times that each of us could have finished eating before the next person got their meal. Must have been understaffed. My kiddo also got sick from his meal. Overall, my experience just didn’t match the ratings this place has.

This was the most authentic Thai we’ve had in quite some time. Properly prepared. I ordered the basil beef “Thai hot”and it had a good amount of heat. Sauces were good and ingredients were fresh. Wife was very pleased with the panang curry and fried spring rolls with the pik nam pla sauce.

Panang curry was very flavorful. Big portions and heaping amounts of protein. Easily 2 meals from an entree, which eases the price point for me. 👍🏻

Inferno Seafood Boil is a dream come true for its owner, who persevered through pandemic delays to bring this seafood boil restaurant to life. The friendly and attentive staff, including Mariah and Brooke, provide excellent service and knowledge of the menu. The food is highly recommended, with generous portions perfect for sharing with friends. Guests praise the delicious seafood offerings and recommend trying the reindeer sausage for a unique flavor experience.
This place is incredible. Our server was Mariah and she is awesome! This was my first time at a seafood boil. She definitely helped explain how to order and what to order. We got the snow crab and shrimp boil. There was so much food that we couldn’t eat it all. For the money that we spent, it was reasonably priced. I think this is one of my new favorite spots in Anchorage. If you haven’t been here, then you are missing out!

Food was fantastic. Some of the best crab legs I've ever had. The shrimp was a bit on the fishy side. They do not offer cocktail sauce. Server was very kind and attentive. Atmosphere and tables were very minimalist but again the food was really good.

Starting off Caitlin greeted us with waters and a smile, within the first few minutes of us being sat for our 7pm reservation this evening which went from 5 to 6 people which they accommodated with ease, there was no wait and we were seated as soon as we walked in at our expected reservation time. The service was impeccable from her from the start until the very end! Always making sure we had drinks filled, extra napkins and was there to answer any questions we had about the menu. Even though we were a little loud and rambunctious she did amazing and was one of the best dinning experiences I have had here in Alaska! Now down to the food! Everything was amazing and tasted so fresh! We started out with the loaded tots and wings combo and boy was it gone within minutes of it hitting the table! By far the best crab boil I’ve had in all 50 states! I ordered snow crab and king crab with potatoes corn and a side of garlic noodles that was to die for! But if you do go don’t forget to ask for Caitlin if you really want to experience the entirety of Inferno! So again thank you to Caitlin for really making the experience there possible!
Billie W — Google review
The difference from other seafood boil is that there is no set combination such as that your order already comes with mussels, clams, shrimp, and sausage or other stuffs. We ordered the reindeer sausage and corn on the side, but when it came to our table the sausage and the corns were mixed with the boil. Still pretty good experience, just a bit pricey. It's like $20 per king crab legs. There were only four legs in the boil. Good thing we ordered the reindeer sausage and corn as additional in the boil.
Gi C — Google review
We really wanted some crab legs while in Alaska. Inferno did not disappoint. They were out of king crab, so got a bag with snow crab, shrimp, potatoes, and smoked sausage. Very generous portions, especially on the shrimp. (Would recommend one person order the shrimp, its enough to feed 2 or 3 people). The crab was amazing. Was disappointed they didn't have cocktail sauce, maybe thats a Midwest thing. Would definitely recommend coming and getting the crab legs. Left stuffed!

We had a group of 8 & Mariah was our waitress! Somehow our reservation was lost, but Mariah got us a table and even with the additional wait time our food was excellent!! I think our party tried every variety of flavors and all the food was delicious. The spice level was hot enough for our preference. 10/10 will come back again! For sure get a reservation though, because the lines are long but the food is worth the wait!!

Extreeeemely delicious!! Everything we ordered was literally finger licking good , highly recommended! 15 out of 10 . Excellent customer service and friendly staff and atmosphere! We absolutely loved our visit to Alaska Sausage & Seafood—what a cool place! We ended up spending over $200 because everything looked (and tasted) amazing. After we checked out, we had a great chat with Ben, who was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. He made us feel right at home. We tried the Moosetard (smoked mustard) 🤣 and a sweet applesauce-style jam that was absolutely delicious. We bought everything to make a fun Father’s Day package for Joe’s dad—including sausages, jams, snacks, and more. They even offer gift baskets online, which are perfect for sending a little taste of Alaska to your friends and family. This place is a must-visit if you're in Anchorage. This was the 2nd butcher/sausage maker we went to in Anchorage and OMG how is this place not nationwide! We went on their birthday and won a free t-shirt and sticker and then we got to sample many of the items and they were all out of this world amazing and we were plum full from stuffing our faces just prior and we still spent well over $100 on reindeer sausage and smoked salmon and yet here I am back in Texas wishing I had bought $1,000 worth and just paid for the overweight baggage on the airline. You have to try the kippered salmon and twice cold smoked salmon strips and of course any of the reindeer sausage and summer sausage every which way they make it is absolutely delicious! Oh and the lemon pepper smoked salmon is amazing too!!!

I am very disappointed. When we came to the store, we asked if the fish was checked, as we had recently had an unpleasant situation. In one of the local restaurants we ordered salmon that had worms and we would not like to deal with infected fish again. A nice girl at the store assured us that the fish was clean. It was such a disappointment to come home, start eating the fish and see worms again. But if worms are not a problem for you, their fish is really tasty.

If you're on the hunt for a delicious sandwich experience, look no further than Jersey Mike's Subs! This New Jersey-based chain has made its way to Alaska, specifically The Kenai, where it serves up an impressive selection of jumbo subs packed with fresh cold cuts and toppings. One standout item is the 'bossio,' a classic that locals rave about. The ingredients are always fresh—meats and cheeses are sliced right in front of you, while the bread is baked daily for that perfect bite.
My six year old tells his friends “jersey mikes makes the best sandwiches, you got to try them”! Staff is friendly. Online orders are always ready very quickly, despite the fact this location always has a line.
Levi T — Google review
I've been to many Jersey Mike's locations while traveling and always enjoyed my food there. So, the low review scores here didn't bother me and I assumed the food would be good as usual. I never got the chance to try a sub here. I waited in line for 5 minutes, watching all the employees stare at me and nobody helped me, let alone acknowledge I was there. A simple, "thanks for your patience, we'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. Once helped, I ordered a Giant sub and that's when my jaw dropped. The submaker pulled a sub roll out and it was half the size of a normal Giant sub roll I'm accustomed to. Keep in mind, a Giant sub here is nearly $19, so at that point, I decided to pass and left to eat at a sit down restaurant instead and get A LOT more for my money AND better service too! Good luck and I hope your experience is better than mine!
John D — Google review
Unless you personally watch them make your sandwich, there is about a 50% chance they will mess it up, and a 20% chance you will get someone else's sandwich. On the rare occasion that they don't mess it up, they are pretty good sandwiches. You just can't trust the employees to not completely botch every single online order you put through in at least some way. This time, I got two entirely different sandwiches from what was ordered. What a waste. It's not particularly fun driving back and having to watch them so that you're not playing sandwich roulette. Thanks for all the wasted time. Perhaps consider teaching the employees how to read, or pay them more to draw in those who can already read. For any potential customers: never order from them online unless you want to play sandwich roulette.
Robin B — Google review
This place needs better communication for sure. They started our sandwich and then walked away so the next person thought it was done and it wasn’t. And they started arguing about whose fault it was. I won’t be back in to order, if I want it bad enough I’ll order online maybe.

Great Sannys! Order ahead online, really saves time on pickup. And... The Regular size is larger than a Subway 6", maybe 7"+. A Giant is just that - huge! Photo is of a (day later, leftover half from a Giant) Portobello Chicken Cheese Steak, add jalapeños... Moose's Tooth Root Beer for size reference! Yum!

Well I down loaded the app to order my food, big mistake, I wanted everything on my sub plus extra lettuce, what I got was nothing but lettuce, tomato ,oil, and I don't think it was 12 inches long, more like 10, what I call a standard Sub, I bought the regular but it looked like the haft, the next size up is the giant for about $20 dollars. I won't be using the app again. I was not impressed. I gave 1 Star for service because I didn't get what I paid for.

Have been to other Jersey Mikes in other states and was excited to hear we were getting one in Anchorage. Stopped by today & got 3 different sandwiches (2 cold & 1 hot). Was told we needed to wait ~30 mins for the hot one since they were extremely backed up due to online orders. Was happy to wait since we were given the cold sandwiches to munch on and they were delicious as always! However, only knocked one star because the hot sandwich came out with a bunch of burnt vegetables that made the entire sandwich inedible. I’d suggest sticking to their cold sandwiches until they’re a little less busy so they don’t make the same error for others. Otherwise, definitely a solid addition to Anchorage!

Brewpub
Seafood restaurant
The Snow Goose Restaurant and Sleeping Lady Brewery is a lively bi-level brewpub that offers scenic views of the port, Sleeping Lady, and Cook Inlet. The restaurant features an open deck where guests can enjoy burgers, pizza, seafood, and their own brewed beer while taking in the picturesque surroundings. Visitors can also look forward to live music events and special nights like Firkin Friday with freshly brewed beer and live performances.
This place has great beer and great views of Sleeping Lady across the bay. They also have an amazing menu of fresh caught seafood that rivals nearly every place in Anchorage. I usually only went here for special functions like birthdays and anniversaries. It never disappoints. The crab cakes appetizer is quite simply sublime! What really sets this place apart from the other great restaurants in anchorage is the great views coupled with a large open floor plan with massive windows looking out over the mud flats below and the bay out to the west. Also has some amazing views during sunset.

Nice place - a little expensive but it's downtown, so that's the norm. Deck is a great place to sit in the summer. Watch the hours in Winter, they are closed a lot with no notice except a sign on the door announcing the latest hours. One cool feature, you can substitute a salad for fries - and it is a great salad. Not some little side thing. Food is generally pretty good. Views upstairs are also pretty nice. Definitely worth going to.

Food (salmon) was great. Nice view from the dining room. I enjoyed the beer flight. Given that I was traveling alone for work, my server went above and beyond to take care of me. He provided good guidance on both food and drink. He even sat down with me for a few minutes when I asked him to help me map out the rest of my visit. Excellent service, great food, good beer. I'd definitely go back.

Great views. Had a hamburger, was definitely good. Beer selection seems good, although their competitor has a little edge with their "barrel aged brews", but SG had a good selection of Trappist ales that kept me happy.

Beer's amazing, food is also great, had the blackened cod sandwich and the cherry grand cru. Their signature gold rush is great. And really good service. Would go here all the time if I lived in anchorage.

I would rate this place a shaky 2... the service wasn't great; waiter didn't know much about the menu, food is very over priced, asked for our goose burger "well done" received burnt, my cocktail was extremely watered down, noodles in my linguini werent thoroughly cooked andddd our salmon cakes were COLD; as if the werent even cooked. I wouldn't recommend an enemy here. only reason I rate my experience a 2 is because my sea food in my linguini was delicious. one of the crappiest places in anchorage. sorry to say.

I've only eaten there once so far so my rating may change. The food was good and there was a nice choice of beers. The place just didnt excite me that much. Nice view from the top deck tho!

The atmosphere on the lower level reminded me of a food court in a country mall, no one came to take our order or even bring us water. We decided to move upstairs, it had low lighting, a central bar and was busier. We choose a table and sat. It had food particles on it. We decided to sit as close to the fire place as possible @ a clean table. The waiter was entertaining, and seemed to know it was going to be a bumpy night for us. He was a bit preoccupied. We placed our appetizer order...cheese curds and spinach artichoke dip. The Cheese curds were not golden brown, the actual curd melted and leaked out of the dough. It tasted more like mozzarella then a cheese curd. The dip was a dip, it was served with stale pita chips. I order the special which was a brined game hen served over a bed of vegetable stuffing. The garnish was fresh, the hen was salty, plastic in texture, cold upon touching my lips and pink when I pulled it apart. I literally could not eat it. I had to send it back. Unfortunately I ate the small wing, it makes me want to cry. Who wants to eat hardly cooked poultry that has been sitting in it's juices? My poor stomach. In place of the hen I ordered the smoked salmon soup which was thick, pink and lacked elements like corn. My friends meal consisted of fried sole and fries with cole slaw. The slaw wasn't sweet or tangy and had a weird taste, the sole wasn't golden, the fries were good. For our beverages we got the signature martini which was served in a beer glass but had a great garnish and good flavor, the beer we orders was the "cream" (can't remember the exact name) had a very bitter after taste. Won't be going back. I will save up and go somewhere inspiring next time. Lesson learned.

Farmers' market
If you find yourself in the area on a weekend, make sure to check out the Sunday Fresh Market O'Malley. This vibrant market features an array of fantastic vendors offering delicious treats like hot dogs, brats, reindeer sausage, and more from their stalls along 4th Avenue. It's a lively atmosphere perfect for enjoying local flavors and connecting with the community. I had the pleasure of meeting the coordinator for this delightful summer event—what a wonderful experience!
Met the Coordinator for this weekly summer event. Thank you!
