Seafood restaurant
Glacier Brewhouse is a lively restaurant with a strong emphasis on wood decor, offering a menu featuring local seafood and wood-grilled meats alongside their own house-brewed beer. The oatmeal stout, served on nitro, presents deep and velvety flavors with subtle notes of coffee and roasted flavors. For an enhanced experience, the oak-aged version aged in Jim Beam barrels offers increased depth of flavor with hints of whiskey and cherry-like fruitiness.
Must do restaurant. Went after Princess Cruise, we beat the crowd but it gets busy. Saturday so had the seafood scramble and it was outstanding! Cheesy grits was my side and also great. Co diner said seafood salad was excellent. Burger and pizza was also good. Didn't try any beers but all hose made. Try it!

We visited this place twice during our trip to Anchorage, and honestly — it’s the best spot in all of Alaska! The food is absolutely outstanding — the halibut is next-level delicious, perfectly cooked and fresh as it gets. The beer selection is on fire 🔥, and the crispy potatoes are simply amazing — the kind of side dish you actually remember! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is super friendly, and everything feels authentic Alaskan. It’s the kind of restaurant where you walk out smiling and already planning to come back. I give it my highest recommendation. If you’re in Anchorage, don’t miss this place — it’s a must-visit!

Based on a trolley tour guide recommendation, we stopped in for lunch. An awesome beer selection and a full bar were a nice surprise. We sat at the bar and Heather provided excellent service. She was so pleasant and helpful with menu selections. We started with the calamari (steaks not rings); I had grilled salmon and husband chose shrimp & grits. There were no disappointments with any of our selections.

The Brew House has some absolutely delicious food! The service was quick and friendly, our waitress was fantastic and made sure everything was perfect. I loved their root beer, and the special steak with shrimp was cooked just right. My favorite dish, though, has to be the hearty seafood chowder, so rich and flavorful! Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and excellent service.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ We had the opportunity to dine at Glacier Brewhouse while visiting downtown Anchorage, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was inviting, with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Seating was comfortable, and the layout of the restaurant gave it a cozy yet upscale feel. Service was excellent—our server was friendly, attentive, and timely with both orders and refills. The staff handled everything professionally, which added to the positive impression. As for the food, we ordered the fish and chips, which we had been craving throughout our trip. While the fish tasted good, the portion size was underwhelming, especially considering the price point. Coming from South Texas, where fresh seafood is abundant and generously served, we expected a more robust serving—especially this far north where one might assume we’re closer to the source. We understand every region has its standards, but the value didn’t quite align with our expectations, particularly for a dish as classic and simple as fish and chips. That said, Glacier Brewhouse is still worth visiting for the atmosphere and service alone. We might return to try other menu items, but next time, we’ll explore other options for seafood.
Robert C — Google review
We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and hoped the 20 minute wait would be worth it. Oh, was it ever! The service, food and atmosphere were excellent!! We started with the pretzel breadsticks fondue, which was so great! My husband got the King Salmon special. He said it was the best salmon he’s ever had and would eat it over having a steak any day! I had the shrimp and grits and I was in awe! They were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had them from Florida to New Orleans and now Alaska and these were amazing! The combination of flavors were incredible! I also added a side of asparagus to my meal. It was grilled and seasoned to perfection! Our server was very attentive and great with recommendations. We will be coming back very soon! I do recommend getting a reservation if you don’t have time to wait. Thankfully, we did and it was well worth it!

This place was a random stop on a very beautiful Sunday afternoon. The host, the waiter and even the chefs were super friendly here. I ordered a clam chowder and I can say that this was by far the best clam chowder I’ve eaten in my life. This place is a must visit when you’re in Anchorage, Alaska. Thank you guys for the amazing experience! Will be coming back.

Outstanding dinner spot. Lots of delicious seafood options and everything we ate was phenomenal. We both wanted to try the king crab so we got a 10oz add on which was perfect. The appetizer sampler was also a great pick to try a few different appetizer options- I couldn't pick my favorite from the trio. The brewhouse itself also has a great selection of different beers. My favorite was the raspberry wheat. Highly recommend giving this spot a try for a "nicer" dinner in Anchorage.

Mooses Tooth Pub & Pizzeria is a vibrant and bustling hangout in Alaska, offering inventive pizzas and house-brewed beer. The menu features a variety of gourmet stone-baked pizzas with an array of toppings, from classic to funky. Locally sourced ingredients are used to create each pie from scratch, ensuring top-notch quality. The pub's own brewery, Broken Tooth Brewing, produces popular ales like the Fairweather IPA that pair perfectly with their flavorful pizzas.
Super busy pizza spot, and for good reason! The beer and pizza is delicious. We got half of the special (Herakles) and half was brewhouse pizza. Both sides were packed full of toppings and cooked perfectly. The bread sticks were also amazing. We left perfectly satisfied.

Amazing!!! Recommended by 2 Uber drivers. Pizza is amazing. Love the creative flavor profiles and the classic pepperoni. The desserts were a delight. Rachel took care of us. Loved the whole experience. Yum! 10/10 recommend.
MKB — Google review
Pizza was excellent, and their rotational cocktail (strawberry based during our visit) was a pleasant surprise. The Hungarian mushroom was also really good. We were a group of 16, and the staff managed to accommodate us within 10 minutes of waiting — very impressive service! Highly recommend for both food and hospitality.

When we told friends and family we were traveling to Alaska, there was a common theme: go to Moose's Tooth! We had to cut our trip here short for an emergency, but had a few hours in Anchorage. We decided to have a lunch here and we're not disappointed! While the food and beer are definitely off the charts, the people are what makes this place so amazing. Julia was our server and really brightened our day in a way we can't even describe. Her energy boosted our spirits while the amazing food nourished our souls. I wish we could take this place back with us to Texas. It will forever be on our hearts.
Drew C — Google review
A very busy place! Was told it would be a 40 minute wait. Love that you can grab a drink and wait on the patio around the fire pit while you wait. The wait ended up only being 20 minutes. Our waitress was very friendly. Loved that they do 1/2 &1/2 pizzas. We tried the carnivore, the classic, call of the wild and chicken bacon ranch. The pizza crust is very good! The chicken bacon ranch was our least favorite. The root beer is crisp and delicious! Tried the pineapple upside cheesecake was disappointed that it lacked pineapple flavor. Overall would recommend and come back!
Lindsey — Google review
Loved the pizzas here. Was skeptical about spicy thai pizza but it tasted delicious and winner would be solstice pizza best of three items we had. We had best dinner after a long day ❤️ Definitely worth visiting!
Manasa D — Google review
Dinner on a weeknight, seated after a very short wait. I had heard about Moose’s Tooth before even arriving in Alaska so I knew I had to try them! I was not disappointed! Ordered a pizza for the table to enjoy and it met expectations. The crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. Our server was friendly and attentive. Already planning a return visit before departing Alaska! I highly recommend Moose’s Tooth!!
Brian B — Google review
We must had picked the right time because there was no wait. According to previous reviews this place gets super packed! Perhaps it’s because we went on a weekday, either way it was so good! I was full off the Diablo breadsticks which I highly recommend. The pizza was also good but I found it to be better as leftovers (do not regret taking it back to the hotel) I’m glad I was able to try different pizzas. I also ordered a flight and that was really good, all in all I will return when I come back to Anchorage!

Bear Tooth Theatrepub in Anchorage, Alaska offers a unique experience by combining a full-service restaurant with a movie theater. The rustic and inviting ambiance sets the stage for an enjoyable night out or a dinner-and-movie date. The menu features delectable dishes, with hand-crafted pizzas being their specialty, made with fresh locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
Great and friendly service. Very attentive staff and knowledgeable of the menu. The food quality was fantastic! We got the chicken wings and southwest eggrolls for apps and the Salmon Poke bowl. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sauces were addicting. I’m just bummed I live so far away from moose’s tooth. Definitely would go again when I come back to AK
M A — Google review
We finally made it to Bear Tooth Theatrepub for breakfast, and wow—what an experience! I had the lemon blueberry pancakes and they were absolutely AMAZING—fluffy, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tart. Joe went for the biscuits and gravy, and they were just as delicious—hearty, savory, and packed with flavor. We both ordered coffee, and the staff went above and beyond by adding caramel syrup and whipped cream on top—a little extra touch that made it feel special. The service was warm, friendly, and fast, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Highly recommend this spot for a great breakfast (or brunch!) in Anchorage. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!
Mandy R — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised how great the food was here. I'm visiting from Seattle and I thought it might be a little bit difficult to find great food in Anchorage because the price of food would be high. I had the pork pozole, the kale Caesar and a coconut flan. They were all great! And the service from Andrea was fantastic. The price was very reasonable
Mark M — Google review
This is a very popular spot in Anchorage. They told us it was a 45 min wait Sunday night, so we went back on Monday. Very good food! I highly recommend the Mango Habanero Chicken Bowl and Blueberry Serrano Wings. Service was good.
Joey R — Google review
It’s pretty good. Highly recommend if your visiting or have somebody visiting. The better food is on the theatrepub side but the fancy food is on the grill side. Had a burger, it was pretty good. There has definitely been a change in the past few years, as the overall vibe feels very different. Overall, it feels more cookie cutter and less of the “Alaskan experience” it was before. I would say it’s less friendly to locals and more of a normal restaurant. Theater side is still pretty good though. I would give 3 1/2 stars if I could.
Rohn A — Google review
My fiance and I had the rosemary burger and the bahn mi burger, along with an appetizer, a dessert and two drinks each, for eighty dollars. I think that was very reasonable!! The quality was amazing and the staff was very friendly
Aurora S — Google review
Had to check it out since I visited Moose tooth. Sat right away at the bar. Server/bartender was kind and quick with service and giving great recommendations. The food was brought out in a timely fashion and the fries were amazing and the Monte Cristo was delicious. I recommend.
Carlos R — Google review
Really enjoyed our visit. Staff was attentive, food was good except for their tortillas that go stiff and cold within seconds. We enjoyed their fish tacos and asked for spicy salsa. They brought us a house made green and red salsa; both really good!

Spenard Roadhouse is a vibrant and casual eatery that offers a diverse menu featuring dishes like Thai curry, burgers, and pizza. The bar at Spenard Roadhouse boasts an impressive selection of small-batch bourbons and cocktails, including house-infused spirits.
We loved the atmosphere here. The playlist was good. It got louder when more people came in, but it was the buzz of everyone talking normally, not people hollering to be heard over the din. The staff was very nice. The drinks were delicious. I got the Rhubarbara Streisand and my wife got the Orange Sunryse with gin instead of whiskey. My wife got the Reindeer Scramble with tots. She said it was delicious. The eggs were seasoned. It was spicy, but not too spicy. She made a point to note how incredibly fresh all the produce is. I got the Veggie Benedict with a side of mac n cheese. Usually when they say pesto is an ingredient, you can barely taste it. Not this time!! And the mac n cheese.... omg chef's kiss!!! The sauce was creamy, the crumb on top was flavorful but without being too salty, the noodles were just right. I eat a lot of bennies and a LOT of mac n cheese. This was by far the BEST benny and the BEST mac n cheese I've ever had out. 1000/10 most highly recommend
Kealey M — Google review
After living in Anchorage for over 10 years, I finally tried Spenard Roadhouse on 27 June. I am kicking myself in the @$$ for not trying it out sooner. The staff were great and the food was amazing. We had calamari and beet carpaccio for appetizers and halibut & fries, shrimp & grits, salmon burger, regular burger, and strawberry shortcake to top off the meal. Everyone loved their food and we all will be visiting again soon.
David C — Google review
Family friendly, looks small on the outside, but seems much bigger inside. And there are several places to sit. We went for dinner and were able to sit at the bar without a wait. They had great drink specials and food was out of this world!! SOO DELICIOUS!! By far my favorite restaurant on our trip to AK. The menu had a little bit of everything. I wished we were staying another night to eat here again.
Cheri B — Google review
Absolutely wonderful service! I forgot the name of our server, but she came to every table in her section to ensure they had water. Very kind people and wonderful family friendly atmosphere as always! My sister and me had the Mac & Cheese and delicious Jambalaya bowl!

Great place with good food. Recommend their fried chicken sandwich and the fish n chips
Darshil D — Google review
I cannot eat at an establishment that has restrooms which smell worse than any gas station or hardware store or truck stop I have ever visited. The men’s room smells of 5 year old urine. If your cleaner is incapable of sanitizing the restrooms I cannot fathom what the kitchen looks like. If you could smell this review it would stank like a mix of a combo of a Poop cruise/Concert Porta poty/poorly cared for Animal shelter. Do better Spenard Roadhouse what happened to sanitary standards? I read your response. Very unlikely you haven’t heard the restrooms are disgusting, as a matter of fact multiple women I was with said the ladies room was also very bad. So not sure how you’re missing the message. Maybe walk in there some time and check for yourself. I wish you the best, but cleanliness counts.

The fried chicken was phenomenal. It was fried to perfection for a southern guy. The seasoning was good also. I liked the smashed garlic potatoes.

Rustic Goat is a popular restaurant in Anchorage, known for its warm and industrial-chic ambiance. The menu features a unique twist on American comfort food and craft brews, including pizza, salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, Roasted Game Hen, Dry Aged Rib Eye and more. The restaurant takes pride in its city culture and offers friendly hospitality. It's housed in a building constructed from reclaimed wood from a historic local cannery.
An awesome decor and a great place to eat and have some drinks. Ordered artichoke dip with pita bread. Serving size was generous and it was outstanding. Chicken wings were delicious. The berry salad was a treat. Apple and prosciutto pizza was good with awesome crust. Service was friendly
James Q — Google review
They had menus ready for us to celebrate our anniversary with our names on it. Artichoke appetizer was amazing the bread was fresh and fluffy. Noodles were nice and cheesy. Scallops were a little on the spicy side but good
Jess W — Google review
The Rustic Goat is a must-try! We ordered several dishes. Hummus – I Loved the rustic veggies that topped the hummus. The hummus had that perfect creamy texture. THE HEAT MISER Pizza – Total standout! The crust was soft and flavorful, and the reindeer sausage with caramelized onions made it next-level delicious. Alaskan Scallops – The curry sauce was sooo good—spicy with a nice kick, so be ready for some heat. Shrimp Scampi – Good, but I’d probably skip it next time and try something new. Overall, super tasty with fun flavor combos that make it worth the visit!

During a trip through Alaska, we stayed in Anchorage and decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was really fun and lively. We had to wait a bit before being seated, but only like 10min. There were 3 people in my party and we all got different dishes. They all looked and tasted so good that we all shared some of our food. We also tested multiple desserts and they were also amazing and tasted so fresh! The waitress was also really helped and gave us the run down of the menu. We found out that the chef actually makes changes to and updates the menu based on the season, and it really makes a difference in the quality of the food. Overall we had a really good time and impressed with the food.
Christian S — Google review
Our dinners were great - drunken clams with reindeer sausage and pork sausage, and the pasta. Off the charts flavorful. We could not get a table reservation so we ate at the bar. The negatives - the pita bread was under done and had to be sent back and still was not cooked enough on the second try either. So bummed that All the beer taps were not operational so draft beer was a bust. The bartender/server, Adam, seemed nice but almost too busy vs attentive for our needs. So, it was a 5 on food and a 3 on some other things. VictorB

Rustic Goat is hands down the most comforting food and atmosphere in town. I’ve lived in Anchorage my whole life and can’t say enough how fortunate our neighborhood is to have Chef Frazer and his staff. They genuinely care about not only cooking good food, but caring for their customers and each other. A rare find of compassionate, relaxed and caring staff, and the most divine food. Our biggest stressor is deciding what to get: it’s all so good. If it’s your first time the clams and sausage are to die for, their wings are our favorite ever, the nachos are always perfect and you can never go wrong with the specials or a steak. Don’t miss out on desert either!
Josie H — Google review
I went for my birthday since it was one of the few "fancy" places open on Tuesdays. They printed out personalized birthday menus which was so cute and it's half off of dessert for birthdays. I got the elk, thai lettuce wraps, and creme brulee and both were very good. My boyfriend got the Kalbi bowl. If I had one slight complaint, its that the creme brulee tasted kind of burnt, like they torched it a little too long. But everything else was good
Chris B — Google review
I tried the chicken pizza and it was delicious, although there were only a few options to customize it. The Thai chili wings were very good as well. The only downside was the wait time. We were told it would be about twenty minutes but it ended up being closer to forty five. It was raining, so that might have caused some delays. Overall, the food was tasty and I would recommend visiting

Simon & Seafort's Saloon & Grill, affectionately known as Simons, is a renowned restaurant in downtown Anchorage offering breathtaking views of the Alaska Range and Cook Inlet. Since its opening in 1978, it has become a local favorite with a loyal following. The menu features delectable aged steaks and fresh seafood, including signature dishes like Asiago-almond crusted scallops and Norton Sound Alaskan red king crab legs.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Memorable Dining Experience with a Touch of Nostalgia Simon & Seafort’s Saloon & Grill truly delivered a memorable dining experience. From the moment our party of five walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly, which set the tone for a great evening. The ambiance is something special — it carries a nostalgic 70s vibe with a touch of elegance that makes the space feel both classic and fancy. It’s the kind of place that transports you back in time, in the best way possible. I ordered the 16oz ribeye, and I have to say — it was cooked to absolute perfection. Juicy, flavorful, and expertly prepared. While the smashed potatoes didn’t quite hit the mark for me due to an unusual taste I couldn’t quite place, it didn’t take away from the overall meal. The rest of our group had a fantastic experience with dishes ranging from the fish and chips to some of the best hamburgers we’ve had in a while. One of the standout features of our evening was the window seating overlooking the water — it added a peaceful and scenic backdrop to our meal. Simon & Seafort’s is definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a unique and satisfying dining experience in Anchorage.

The security guard at the Museum of Natural History gave us a recommendation. So we arrived at your restaurant on the recommendation of Kelvin. From the time we were seated until the time we left the restaurant we were treated in nothing less than Grand fashion. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with offering recommendations on appetizers as well as entrees. Her recommendations were spot on. The calamari for an appetizer. The smoked Cherry single batch Bourbon drink as well as a blueberry mojito. They were mixed to perfection. The halibut cheeks as well as the black cod were cooked to perfection and definitely to our liking. The sides were absolutely delicious. Easily one of our better meals we had during our two-week stay in Alaska. We certainly appreciate the recommendation, we certainly appreciate the attentiveness of our server and the quality of the food served. We will definitely return when an Anchorage again

This was probably our best meal in Anchorage. We couldn’t get a reservation in the main room so we ate in the bar. It was a great option as we had a great view and a great server - Lacey! Don’t let the unpretentious front fool you. The Smoke&Bourbon drink was cool and delicious, and the beer and wine were great. The calamari was tasty albeit a bit heavy on the breading. Excellent crab stuffed halibut which was big enough to split! Really enjoyed the short walk to get here from downtown. This is not one to miss. VictorB

Amazing restaurant in Anchorage. If you can’t get a reservation, you can sit open seating in the bar which we did. A lot of seating in the bar, including overlooking the water. Get there early if you want those seats. Service in the bar area was excellent. The sourdough bread that came to the table was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful and the Caesar salad was very good. A lot of lemon in the Caesar dressing, but it really turned out well. Got the halibut cheeks and I’ve never had halibut this good. You could tell it was incredibly fresh and the texture was amazing as it was prepared perfectly.

Came here on a week day for early dinner, it was packed, so family and I had to take the Saloon area. While it was cozy, it was terribly noisy and busy. Food was ok, nothing special really, (the calamari was chewy), definitely overpriced. The drinks however were great, could’ve had more if the bar had more staff (again terribly busy), and our server was nice. Not worth the visit in my opinion, solid 3 stars.

I came here yesterday with my husband and my friend. The food was great. The place was super busy. The wait for a table was 90 minutes but they have a bar zone where you can just sit at any available table. If you come in during busy hours like us, all the tables are likely to be occupied. You gotta keep an eye out for a group that almost finish and quickly take the table when they’re done. That’s how we ended up waiting around 30 minutes. Anyhow, I highly recommend making a reservation. And probably due to how packed the place was, we waited another hour for the food.

6 of us were on a trip and looked online for a nice seafood restaurant. This place came promising, we tried booking. Not available for the same day. Still we went there for a dinner on a Wednesday. Place was full so we got our place near the bar. I will say I was not impressed as the online Google rating was. The table looked clean but needed a second touch. When ordering, they said we just ran out of that fish. Balance orders came. However, we had to ask and wait for the plates and cutlery. As to the calamari, it was more breadcrumbs and fried. On a positive note they helped us share food. All the issues maybe because of overwhelming busyness. Not a bad place to try.

Best meal we have had in anchorage and our waitress was great. The cod cheeks and clam chowder were to die for! The complimentary creme brûlée for our anniversary was delicious and so appreciated. Our only qualm was it was so hot in the dining room due to the open kitchen. At least a 15° difference between the check in area and the dining area. But overall a fantastic experience and definitely would dine again!

Jack Sprat is a popular restaurant in Girdwood, Alaska, known for its creative dishes and vegan options. The restaurant caters to both vegetarians and carnivores with a variety of meat and vegetable options on the menu. Additionally, there are plenty of vegan choices available.
This was honestly the best meal I've had in a while. Our server was incredibly welcoming. Our meals were amazing. The Mama Mia! might be the winner. I appreciated the extensive kids menu. The Birds and the Trees was a great healthy option. Not sure how they cooked those carrots, but they were to die for!

Edit: changing my review. Previously had posted some frustration about showing up to a private dinner. However, we made it down the following weekend and were sat immediately. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I had the ribeye which was excellent. My daughter had the kids chicken, rice and broccoli dish and my wife had the bipimbop. Everything was great and all the food we saw coming out to other tables looked fantastic as well. Worth the 2nd attempt for sure and would love to come again. Prices were fair as well.

Great local spot. Ordered the halibut cheeks lettuce wraps🥰. Salmon bowl, and sausage pasta. Food was great, service was pretty slow, the gentleman next to us sent back his food and ordered something else and it took over 20 min to get his next dish.

Amazing dinner and great service from Ian! This gets crowded so enjoy a drink on the patio, or shop at the gift shop next door. When you get seated have the tagliatelle with Ragu and the Alaska burger! Both are excellent! The desert options are fantastic so leave room for one! VictorB

This by far was my favorite meal while in Anchorage. Perfectly cooked, fresh and creative. I was in a group and everyone loved their entrees and apps. The Mama Mia is best bolognese I’ve had anywhere and the salmon is just perfect.

i’m so glad I decided to look up restaurants on the way home from Seward instead of getting back to Amsterdam where everything was probably already closed. I called ahead to this restaurant because we were only gonna have 40 minutes before they close. They said come on in. Salmon was fantastic, also got yummy bimbap bowl and a cider on tap. Insanely beautiful views! Great customer service. Great music playlist for this “hip” millennial. 🤗

My friends and I arrived at Jack Spray after it was closed but the gentleman working allowed us in and let us order rose! It was such a nice gesture and created a fun memory for my friends as I as we were visiting Alaska on vacation! The rose was great and the atmosphere made it all the more magical. It was the perfect stop for a quick drink before exploring more of Girdwood. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Girdwood area!

Absolutely the best service and food in Alaska. 7 glaciers and the double musky have a lot of catching up to do. The atmosphere is relaxed with low lit dining experience and people are welcomed casual. Chef Ryan is literally the best in the state. Thank you for bringing this type of experience to the 907.

Recently, they collaborated with 49th State Brewing for a special dinner event featuring beer pairings.
The Hunters Pie was very good, highly recommended. My wife had the Cod Tacos and my son had the Blackened Salmon with rice. All the food was delicious. Service was great even though they were busy. It has a very nice outdoor area too.

Went here while in town with family, what a great place. Several of the in-laws were questionable and turned out to be the best meals while in town. Grant gave great suggestions and changed my wife’s mind on the halibut. The horseradish crusted was delicious and I had the Hunters pie. I love me some shepherds pie and this took it to the next level. Several had the seared ahi and said it was the best ahi they have ever had. Thank you for ending out Alaska trip on a very high note. Cheers!

Visited Humpy’s and was not disappointed! The smoked salmon dip was hands down my favorite, however the halibut fish and chips were definitely another. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. I’ll be sure to visit again, whenever I plan to make my next trip to Anchorage:)

We were given this restaurant as a recommendation from our bus driver while driving to Anchorage. It turned out to be a great hit! We thought the food was great! We got the halibut and chips, the patty, the crab roll. Omg they were all delicious! Great food, great place to stop in for a bite to eat. Next time o go back to Alaska, will stop in.

First of all Fiona and Catherine were excellent servers at the bar where we sat. We watched them work so hard and be so pleasant. The food was excellent. We had the halibut tacos and the halibut burger and both were great. The place was very busy but had a great vibe. It’s a restaurant and sports bar. It’s not loud so you are able to talk. We were not there when there was live music. We went on a Wednesday night.
Terri G — Google review
People referred me here as a “dive bar,” but I didn’t see anything “dive” about it. Great service and delicious food. I arrived too early for the dinner menu, but the halibut fish and chips were terrific. Highly recommended!

We had the Golden Crab, Crab Roll, Crab Patty Melt, and Caesar Salad — everything was outstanding! Fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. The place is super friendly and absolutely worth recommending!
Maty T — Google review
Gonna start with this... TRY THE CALAMARI! Not sure what sort of crack they put in their seasoning but it was exceptional! On the outside - crunchy! On the inside succulent (only word I can think of!) Even the aioli was spiced perfectly! This was an absolute hit! Ordered the halibut tacos and they were good - maybe a tad underwhelming for me in that halibut is a heavy/fleshy fish and I felt like it could have been seasoned slightly better. It was supposed to be slightly blackened but I didn't taste that. The aioli was OK and the candied jalapenos didn't taste candied! Overall it worked and the portions were excellent! This dish came with multi coloured tortilla chips and salsa which I actually thought were devine! They had a nice saltiness to them that complimented the tacos! The sockeye salmon burger was good but perhaps a touch overcooked. The fries that came with it were good. Service - excellent! The staff that served us was excellent! Tried a beer on their rotational taps which was really good! This place is probably what it is hyped up to be in the evenings with the beer flowing and the food following! With live music - I can not imagine how this place would not be an instant Anchorage favourite!

We are in town visiting from WA and wanted a breakfast place and Gwennies was suggested several times. The food was so good! I had the crab Benedict and it was the best I have rated with big chunks of crab. Our server was amazing and the food came quickly.

A must visit. Fox News is on. The bartender was the best. She made me feel welcome and was just a gem! Order breakfast- it is the way to go. All other guests were locals so their conversation was so fun to listen to. Highly recommend for a true old school Alaskan experience. I know they voted for the idiot in power and I still ate there- bringing the true diversity this place needed. The only way we can change is to talk. And that is what I did here. Great place!

I really really wanted to love this place. But ultimately it’s meh. Let’s start with pros. The menu does have a lot of options allowing picky eaters to find their groove. The staff was very kind and the decor was nice to look at especially while waiting. I did Ike that they had a nice sized waiting area especially with it being cold. The food was not bad and the coffeee was good!! No the cons… the building was not in the best shape some areas looked as though it was falling apart. The food was very bland with not much flavor at all. It was very very similar to ihop actually. The burger was the best thing we had.

What a breakfast! The cool Alaska theme with history throughout is really cool, and the people working there are impressively nice. Our server was on point and knew the menu cold. The food came out fast, and it was all very, VERY good. 5 people were no problem for her to seat, serve, and maintain. I really regret not coming here sooner.

Interesting little spot we visited where the breakfast is all day long and rated well! Spent lunch there and had the reindeer sausage breakfast and the lunch special - corned beef. The food was good, nothing to complain about and as you would expect. The service was good - knowledgeable staff that know a lot of the regulars! The atmosphere is extremely old school kind of like a western saloon/tavern. There is a dining area and a small bar area. Prices were reasonable. There is plenty of parking and public transit outside.

Anchorage Cider House | Fat Ptarmigan is a stylish bistro located in downtown Anchorage, offering a locally focused menu featuring gourmet wood-fired pizzas and a selection of craft beer and wine. The restaurant boasts a tastefully chic ambiance with its wood and brick interior. It is one of the newest dining establishments in Anchorage, spearheaded by renowned chef Guy Conley.
I tried all of the ciders on tap, and although I typically lean to the sweeter side, every single one was tasty. I also didn't get that odd, hard to describe flavor that I often notice with ciders. I love the feel of the place. Open and airy. Beautiful tables and I love that they display the work of local artists. I didn't eat there but the pizza smelled divine. The lady working was very friendly and welcoming too. If you're in town I highly recommend stopping in.

My husband and I went with our daughter for the first time and it was a nice experience! Our server was super nice and welcoming especially with our toddler! The food and drinks were delicious I even saved half to eat at home :D We we’re expecting more options for the drinks though, but other than that it was great 🙌🏼 The environment was also very nice with the art they have of small paintings from artists along with the cool merch they have for sale. The food also came out fast so did drinks! We definitely had a great time!

BBQ wings. Beer cheese pizza on the left. Build your own pesto, blackened chicken, feta cheese, tomato, garlic and spinach on the right. If you like wood fired, you'll love this place. Probably shouldn't have paused to create the review. My only fixation at every pizza place like this, push the toppings closer to the edge. The crust here has excellent flavor, but I don't need that much of it without toppings. Probably is more difficult that it looks, considering I don't hand-make pizza. Next trip to Anchorage, this is on my destination to return.
Jerred W — Google review
Great pizza, great cider, with friendly and attentive staff! All their pizzas look good, including pizza chefs who still toss dough. Ordered the beer cheese pizza, which was very delicious, although not quite the unique experience I had envisioned (basically, reindeer sausage, especially when in a larger dish, doesn't taste all that different from any other sausage...not bad at all, just worth keeping in mind). Ciders were also quite good with a diverse selection. Would be worth returning to explore the menu in the future.
Michael P — Google review
The first time I had a pizza from here, it was very disappointing quality. Couldn't taste the toppings through the layers of carbon, yes it was very burnt. My pecan pie did not come with utensils; the gelato melted. Ordered via 907 delivery. A couple days later, I ordered a new pizza and it was actually really good. A consistent wood fired flavor without the excessive carbon coating. I've included the before and after photos. Good news: Management is very nice and is all about QC. I don't know if their ovens are too hot or if their cooks are too preoccupied on a Tuesday night-- but, they did offer to make it right. I would try this place again.
KD — Google review
The build your own pesto with blackened chicken, roasted garlic, tomato, spinach and feta pizza was a gourmet delight. Order the beer cheese pizza to taste the reindeer. The BBQ Wings are enough to make you fly. I'll never forget the forget me hopped cider and the grapefruit/lavender cider was a delicious blend. The service was friendly and very kind and on top of service even when it got busier. I highly recommend if you want delicious wood fired food, creative cider and friendly service.
Ashley E — Google review
I ordered the lamb gyro and it was really awful. First, in a practically empty restaurant, it took 23 minutes for it to come out. It comes with pasta which was flavorless and was literally soaked/dripping in some kind of oil. The lamb in the gyro was very minimal and it was also bland. I'd ordered a side of tzatziki sauce and it was, again, bland and very watery. I only ate half of the gyro and hardly any of the pasta. So, I pretty much wasted $15. Maybe they have other items that are good but my experience was terrible and I don't recommend this restaurant.
Agnes A — Google review
Fat Ptarmigan has consistently been one of the best places in town to get pizza… Especially with their wood fired oven and crust recipe. Even though the founding chef has moved on, much of the appeal from his original recipes remains. And with the addition of the space-within-a-space Anchorage Cider House, there are more ways to enjoy this tasty spot downtown.

The Bake Shop is a popular seasonal bakery known for its artistic flair and delicious offerings. For over 40 years, it has been a go-to spot for fresh bread, mouthwatering cinnamon rolls, and various breakfast options such as sourdough pancakes made with historic Alaskan sourdough from the Gold Rush Era.
We went a week ago on our way to Homer. We heard the bakery was good so we decided to try it. It is about 10 minutes off the highway. Head up the road past the mercantile shop on the left ( it is about 3-5 minutes after you see the mercantile- head straight). Where the road tees take a left then a right. The place is an order at the counter and they bring it out. There was a line but it moved quick. Even though it was raining we easily got a seat. We split the egg sandwich. My wife does not like sourdough but she raved about this sandwich. On our way back from Seward today after our Homer stop, 4 days later we went for lunch. We both got a cup of soup and sandwich. We thought half sandwich and cup of soup. But it is cup and whole sandwich. Food was great but we could have split it. Service great. Organization great. Clean and relaxing. Would highly recommend if in the area. The picture is of my wife’s cup and sandwich. Navy bean and pastrami. I got pastrami and mushroom. All good.
Mike W — Google review
The rolls everyone raves about are delicious and massive, but they are not really cinnamon rolls. They resemble a Euro-style egg/yeast bread with some raisins scattered in. The icing is light, lemony even, but not thick or oozy. Even the menu board refers to a Sweet Roll or a bun with butter. We came in thinking we were getting cinnamon rolls, surprise! Nope. But worth trying with a hot beverage. The rest of the menu that we didn’t get to try looks really good, prices decent. Loud, boisterous, energetic place. Servers working hard.

Fantastic breakfast selection!! Most delicious sweet roll ever--like a cinnamon roll but with a few raisins, sliced almonds and a sweet glaze . Super ! And free drop coffee for life if you buy their ceramic mug. Definitely check out this place! I tried to update the hours. They are currently open 8-2 Wed thru Sun

Place looks cute and has good rating but food was extremely sub par. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was the smallest driest sandwich I’ve ever had. 2 pieces of bacon, one egg, and one piece of cheese on a burnt piece of sourdough bread for 16 bucks. Would’ve rather ate gas station sushi for breakfast. Other options looked more appealing there but I wouldn’t recommend eating here
Zach K — Google review
I love this place and will continue to support it but I want to point out a few disappointments that (when you have time) to address. #1 - every time I have ordered sourdough pancakes they've been absolutely the most unique ever. Not last Sunday -- they were not very sour tasting and not as fluffy and stretchy as I have always had since 1978 when Werner watched over everything. I made a point to tell a worker about it and a manager heard me and explained that sourdough is temperamental - sometimes stronger than other batches.(I have never found this before) but OK I'll accept that and just hope for a better batch next time. #2 We purchased a loaf of their bread and found that it seemed to have changed recipes or something. It was NOT as airy, yeasty, bubbly as I recall which has always set it apart from anything else locally produced. I do hope that you will read this review and take note. That's it from me. thanks, Pete
Pete — Google review
You ever been to a place that feels like people who are growing up in the town work there? It's hard to describe the energy but it's pleasantly relaxing, even when crowded. I'd suggest getting there early-is as we entered into a line and walked past a line on the way out. It's THAT popular. There's a reason for that: the food is consistent. Everyone's toast came out perfectly, the bacon was cooked fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and the drinks were good. Recommendation: Cinnamon bun. Oh. My. Gosh. Not too sweet, crunchy on the top and so delicately light and soft inside. That was the highlight of breakfast, aside from peripherally observing the kitchen staff jamming out to 90s/2000s punk/skater rock and curse at a few fringe toasts. Sure, if you're a person of color you may get some side glances but it won't be from staff. The food is worth it.

Nestled within the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage, Fletcher's is a delightful pub-style restaurant that offers an eclectic menu featuring gourmet pizzas, fresh pasta, and seafood specialties. The cozy ambiance, highlighted by a stunning wooden bar, makes it an inviting spot for solo travelers or anyone looking to unwind after a day of exploration.
The waiter showed us to our table and served us water. The burger and fries were yummy. You can swap the fries for salad and soups for additional $2 more which looks good too.

Although the restaurant was extremely busy, they did their best to get us seated as soon as possible and once noticed we hadn’t gotten drinks yet, the gentleman seating people came and actually served us as well. Seems like a very supportive and helpful staff. The grilled salmon was very tender, perfectly seasoned, and fell apart off the fork. The fingerling potato’s weren’t crunchy, but cooked to perfection. The fettuccini primavera was cooked perfectly el dente, I got it without mushrooms which I highly recommend as I don’t feel like mushrooms would mix well. It was a very light delicious pasta. The deserts were incredible I wanted to try them all but we settled on the crème brûlée and the strawberry lemon tiramisu. The crème brûlée had a perfectly golden caramelized top and was perfectly vanilla and creamy. You could see the vanilla bean in the dish. The strawberry lemon tiramisui feel like is named inappropriately as it is not a tiramisu, have no coffee and the lady fingers aren’t moist but it was overall very good as a starberry lemon cake but I just think it’s marketed wrong. Would definitely come here again.

This is the place we found Baked Alaska, the famous Alaskan dish but hard to made. It didn't let us down. Really good Alaskan food for captain Cook.

Unfortunately disappointed. First dinner was the infamous Alaska Halibut F&C. The fries were good and crispy. The fish was without flavor except for the deep fried batter. Server was friendly, but for a not very busy time, it took 20 min for him to return to my table, at which point I'd given up on dessert. Second visit was to get that previously desired dessert - blueberry cobbler, which looked amazing on the menu. Ordered it to-go and host said about 5 minutes. Which while I realized 5 minutes was optimistic, I was greatly disappointed when it came out 30 minutes later. Rushing back to the room (on the other side of the hotel) to enjoy the cobbler while it was still hot & ice cream still cold, was greatly disappointed to be met with the fragrance of charcoal when I opened the box. The small pie shaped wedge of cobbler was burnt to a crisp - only the compote on top was edible. Needless to say, I will need to enact the 2 strikes you're out on this eatery. Which is disappointing for me as I've heard others had good experiences.

My wife had the reindeer skillet and thought it was very good and more than enough for her. I had the sourdough pancakes very disappointed they were flat and heavy. I would not order them again. The atmosphere was nice better than most restaurants not great but nice. You know it is inside a nice hotel.

We wanted to extend the last night of our Alaskan vacation a bit so after dinner we headed to Fletcher's a restaurant/bar inside the Captain Cook hotel for a famous "Baked Alaska" and a drink. The place (like most of the lobby areas of the Captain Cook" feels like Anchorage history. It's upscale old-school...you really feel like you're somewhere. I'm a fan of locally distilled spirits and, unlike another corporately owned hotel chain bar nearby, they had a locally distilled bourbon on hand. I tried it - 50 Fathoms Bourbon from Hanes Alaska...a neat shot and it was great. My wife and I shared the baked Alaska, dessert, because we didn't feel it would be appropriate for us to leave the state without ever having tried one. It came out quick and gave us the impression that it had already been prepared, whereas we heard tales of baked Alaska at other restaurants that are prepared to order and were made with ice cream as their base. This one had a moose as its base and it was OK. I like the chocolate layer, my wife didn't love it, and I wish that our one example of a baked Alaska had been a little more special and somewhere else. There are a few vegetarian options on the menu if you want to eat here and that's your diet, including a summer berry salad and some pizzas, but not much else to offer without having to modify existing items. Our server was very attentive and very friendly. We definitely come back and have a drink here again.

My recent dining experience at Fletcher Restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska, was really pleasant. From start to finish, every dish surpassed expectations, showcasing the best of Alaskan seafood cuisine. The seafood chowder was a highlight, bursting with flavors and packed with fresh ingredients. Each spoonful was a delight, offering a smooth and flavorful experience that left me craving for more. The smeared Alaskan halibut was a true masterpiece. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning, it showcased the natural freshness and sweetness of the seafood. A testament to the chef's skill and dedication to quality ingredients. And let's not forget the fresh oysters, a true delight for any oyster lover. Served with their secret sauce, they were incredibly fresh, sweet, and absolutely irresistible. I could have easily indulged in more of these exquisite starters. The attentive service staff added to the overall dining experience. Despite a full house, they managed to serve our food promptly. However, the only downside is, the waiter is overly attentive, giving us the vibes that he is trying to chase us away. Overall, Fletcher Restaurant is not a bad place for dinning. If the waiter hasn't been so "pushy", it will be a pretty awesome dinner experience.

The menu, curated by renowned chef Jack Amon, features experimental contemporary cuisine using high-quality ingredients that are changed daily to keep things fresh. I think I've been to the Marx Bros Cafe when I was little, but I don't remember that visit. I just went recently to celebrate my dating anniversary with my fiancé. It was very nice! Over the past month I’ve heard of people unable to get reservations and a BIG wait list. Last night it was finally time for our reservation and it was an amazing experience and maybe not for the reasons you think. Sure, the food was delicious & yes the service/timing was impeccable as always, but the realization of the history and personal connections/impact is what stood out most to me. Our server was the same server who helped us last time we were in for my husband’s birthday. I sat there wondering what their employees would move on to next, if I could get a recipe book, where the art was going and who would take the building over next. I looked around and saw many friends and families enjoying their night laughing, smiling & reminiscing. I asked the gentleman making our Caesar salad what his plans were after the restaurant closed next week. “Be a farmer,” he said. He has never been a farmer before, but will be able to spend time with family he hasn’t seen in years. He will be driving the Alcan with family to Mexico. Alaska provided an opportunity for him to pay off his debts, work hard and create a life he only ever dreamed of. He came to AK to get away from CA, where he could no longer sell cars, due to living the fast life of too many speeding tickets. Our conversation was a lot longer, but you could tell Van, Jack and his other restaurant family has had a big impact on his life. I hope the best for him on his new journey. On the art, I noticed round pink garage sale stickers. I asked what they were for. They were pieces that had already been sold and a couple he pointed out the owners were keeping for themselves. There was only 4 left, not claimed yet. How cool for people to have a piece of history. Now, who would take the building over? I for sure thought another restaurant would swoop it up, but then there’s the risk of the new owners changing too much/ruining what’s been built up for 40+ years. A non profit that makes meals for the homeless will occupy the building, which I think is wonderful. We also discussed their chef who sadly passed years ago and the connections. I’m a 911 operator and vividly remember the day we got the call. Sounds like all who knew him were very lucky. I also overhead a guest conversation about someone not being present working last night. The reason was due to the abuse they’d been receiving for the past two weeks, with people unhappy they were unable to secure reservations. This makes me sad. This is not the Anchorage I want to be a part of, where we send beloved members of our community into retirement in a hateful way because we don’t get something we want. We can do better! Sure, easy for me to say since we did get a reservation, but I would feel the same way even if I didn’t get one. We should be celebrating, respecting, encouraging and thanking this fine establishment into retirement and remember how blessed we are for the legacy they’re leaving behind and ever even being a part of our community. P.S. the halibut cheeks, Caesar salad & scallops were my favorite from our meal. We didn’t have room for dessert unfortunately. I wanted one of everything, but my body said otherwise.

Definitely, a must visit when in Anchorage. Small menu, nice wine list, not huge, but solid selection. My friend who loves craft beers had a good selection and was happy to see what they had. All in all, great meal, our Server, Amanda was perfect! Go and treat yourself. Oh yeah, someone in our party had a dairy allergy and they were great at checking with the Chef and offering options. That doesn't always happen but Amanda made it easy for us.

Tried this place based on reviews seen. I give this place 4 stars. The negatives for me were waiting a long time for dinner after the appetizers, but it is also a small place as was quite busy at the time of our seating. Second negative, both dinners were not hot just warm. The dinners we tried were the Kodiak scallops and the halibut. The appetizer was halibut cheeks which were amazing, and were served hot. We tried tiramisu and carrot cake and both were great!! Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a place to try if you have not been here.

Delicious food especially on a cold Alaskan night. Marx Brothers has great service and very cosey atmosphere perfect for a double date. All (4) of us had the Ossu Bocco, which was incredibly delicious. We started with the Melitzano Salata, Alaskan Oysters, and Smoked Pork Belly. Everything was the perfect temperature, and tasted fantastic. Searched around a few places as we visited family here from Maryland, and were satisfied with the Marx Brothers. Hope to stop by on our next visit!

Phenomenal food in a cozy atmosphere with excellent, attentive staff. We had the duck, the shrimp and a rockfish special with the chocolate mousse, the cheesecake and the berry crisp. Every dish was delicious and the presentation was fantastic.

OMG, excellent dinner and service. Was greeted/seated by a very pleasant young lady and Mr. Van, himself! The appetizer of foie gras is literally 'melt in your mouth' buttery smooth, amazing. We enjoyed fresh baked bread with olive oil, entree of Salmon with an increditable red pepper sauce, entree of scallops, shrimp, housemade spinach noodles with roasted broccoli. All was prepared with perfection.

Crush Wine Bistro & Cellar is a popular spot in Anchorage that offers a wide selection of wines by the glass or bottle, along with shareable plates, all in an unpretentious setting. The bistro has been a welcome addition to the town since its opening in 2010, providing access to a variety of wines beyond the typical California selections.
It's easily the best restaurant I've been to in Alaska. Everything from the service to the food was on point. The Halibut with the miso cream was the perfect dish. The fish had an amazing sear with a tender interior, elevated by this beautiful miso cream sauce. A must try and I will 100% return!

Amazing service, Zoe was amazing. Food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, as were the wine options. Pork chop was phenomenal and my friends said the chicken was juicy and the lamb was the best he’s ever had. Highly recommend.

Delicious food, the roasted duck was cooked perfectly. Large array of drink options ranging from craft cocktails, a multitude of wines and homemade mocktails. The restaurant can get busy later in the evening, so wait times for food can be long. Food was presented well and tasted great. Reasonably priced for the quality of the dishes.

I always try to leave the review I wish others would write! First of all - this is by far the best restaurant we ate at in Anchorage and honestly one of the best we’ve had, and we are big foodies. That being said, we rated the service low because although our waitress was attentive and incredible it took 3 hours total from start to finish. Appetizers -*Oysters baked - oh my gosh probably the best ones we have had and we live on the coast! -Ravioli was creamy and delicious -Goddess salad was also very delicious Meals *-The salmon special was excellent. The flavors were incredible. One of the best salmon entrees we’ve ever had. It came on top of Parmesan risotto. There was a poached egg on top (which was delivered later kind of taking away from the overall presentation). Overall an amazing dish. -The prime rib entree was good but wouldn’t say it stood out when compared to the fish entree. Dessert They were out of baked Alaska so we got the crème brûlée and the chocolate graham cracker dessert. They were both delicious. Overall great experience. Only suggestion is that the restaurant could certainly benefit from some improved efficiency to decrease the length of stay for customers.

The place is nice and the staff too. Unfortunately there weren't many vegan options. There was a chance to make a couple of dishes vegetarian but no vegan option on the menu. Nevertheless the time I spent there was nice and even if they were very busy the staff was nice and helpful. The dishes looked tasty and elegantly plated some even artistic. They definitely have a proper Chef there. I'd hope in the future they'll have a couple of vegan options. for what I've seen the chef seems very capable to amaze us all.

We were recommended a visit to Crush by a local and looked forward to dining there during our one night in Anchorage last Thursday. While we were seated promptly and the drinks were great, our dinner took over an hour to arrive without communication from our server. When we finally asked for our salad first or crackers to tide over our hungry teen (after 55 minutes), we were denied both, told the kitchen was slammed and that they would get our meal out to us asap. Dishes trickled out over 20-25 minutes, meaning we couldn’t eat together. The food was delicious, but the service was disjointed and disappointing. Despite the server’s apology and mention of possibly comping items, nothing was removed from our bill. When we asked about it thinking she maybe forgot she had said that, first she came back with no, there’s nothing she can do. We told her how disappointing that was under the circumstances, and she said she understood. She then came back again and offered to comp a 3rd dessert - odd, since we didn’t need it and had already paid for two. It felt like a missed opportunity to turn a frustrating experience into a positive one. The bill was over $200 so choosing not to comp a glass of wine or a dessert that would have cost them $5 or 6 (if even) is just bad business. We had planned to buy a bottle of red to bring back to the hotel room. The tip was cut in half and the $20 they would have made on the wine sale forfeited...all for what exactly? Lost $, this bad review, and no future recommendation from us. In conclusion, we were confused and disappointed by the lack of hospitality. Would not recommend.

Love the atmosphere at Crush. The wine selection is fabulous and it’s a creative menu. I wish they had one or two more vegetarian options with real protein. Not many vegan options to speak of. I had the vegetarian wellington. It has a puff pastry, roasted vegetables, and then it is plated with a pesto and a blue cheese cream. It was awesome.

The White Spot Cafe, a classic diner in Anchorage, has been serving American favorites and Alaskan specialties since 1946. One of its most revered dishes is the halibut sandwich, which is a must-try for visitors. The sandwich features fresh fish battered and fried to perfection, served on a soft white bread bun with iceberg lettuce, American cheese, and tartar sauce.
Great little local spot with good food. The reindeer chili was super tasty. The halibut sandwich was a but bland but still good. The halibut melt had more flavor. The coleslaw was amazing. It was very creamy and sweet but wow, it was delicious. Great service.

Small, no-frills family operation that actually feels like family when you’re there. Open kitchen where you can watch everything happen. Owner caught the fish that morning and battered it right in front of me. Hand-cut fries, both fried to perfection. Great spot for people watching while you eat. Authentic and unpretentious.

What a great diner! Really good food in a traditional American diner setting. My wife had the chicken fried steak and the gravy was so good! I had the halibut sandwich - very solid. The fries are obviously had cut and were plentiful and perfect. If I lived in Anchorage, I’d eat here often.

South Restaurant + Coffeehouse is an urban-chic establishment in Anchorage, Alaska, offering a mix of New American dining, a bar, and a coffee cafe. It stands out for its more than 25 gin varietals, rotating local beer selection, and high-end cuisine. The restaurant's clean and modern atmosphere makes it an ideal stop at any time of day.
Picture it: peak tourist season, July in Alaska. It's a Saturday night and we need a reservation for 10 and no one is taking reservations. And then South came through! We had a great table in a private area. The service was on point - helpful, prompt, and professional. Let's get to the food -- the star of this experience. I'm a sucker to try French onion soup whenever possible but I'll also judge your establishment based on the quality of this dish and the French onion here is OUTSTANDING. The crab cakes with the poblano sauce were also unbelievably good. In fact, our table of 10 didn't have a dish that wasn't excellent. I'll be back if I'm back in town again.

We came to this restaurant on a Sunday morning and it was packed! We ended up sitting at the bar. The food was delicious and very filling but it did take quite a while for it to come out which was a disappointing. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Spot on as always🔥 I never would order a porkchop out until I had it here first. It changed my perspective and I will now order them out at resturants of this caliber. Its been wonderful every time. The mocktails are very well done as well.

Visiting my friend and popped in for breakfast. We went to the coffee first. We ordered a dirty chai and mocha. Because the coffee is freshly made expect a little wait time. The dirt chai was amazing. We then went over to dine. We were sat immediately. The server was very nice and accommodating. We ordered the death by bacon sandwich, Benedict with crab plus scallop cake and a single order of the sourdough pancake. The sourdough pancake was seriously unique. I loved that it was crepe like. You can taste a hint of sourdough. The death by bacon was extremely flavorful. The Benedict was amazing and the brioche bread it as served on was super soft. You won’t go wrong ordering any of these items.

Get on the Yelp waitlist before heading over to save time. The staff here are friendly and fast. We ordered the avocado toast with egg and bacon, plus the two eggs any style with a side of the pouch. For drinks, we tried the Kobuk Samovar tea and an espresso. The tea was a bit too heavy on cinnamon and sugar for my taste, but overall it was a good experience.

Amazing brunch with lots of options, comparable food to any famous brunch spot in Vancouver where I'm from. Very beautiful and clean decor with cute details, staff were very professional and nice. I got the croque madame which was excellent, the salad has a nice dressing. My husband got the death by bacon sandwich which was excellent, the garlic aoli on it is bomb!! We also got a biscuit with jam on the side which I highly recommend, the jam is all natural made in Seattle which was a nice touch. They had local paintings on the wall for sale which looked very good. We sat near a birthday party in the next room, looked like a nice private long table for parties that I'd recommend. Definitely going back for brunch soon.

Southside Bistro is a vibrant eatery and wine bar located in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. The restaurant offers an elevated New American menu as well as a casual bistro menu, complemented by an extensive wine collection. The cozy and intimate atmosphere makes it perfect for a date night or a relaxing dinner with friends. Their delicious offerings include red wine filet mignon, Patagonia pink prawn, sea scallops, and other delectable options that pair perfectly with their wines.
This place has a really nice atmosphere. One side is bar seating and the other side is the restaurant. The staff was great, friendly and very knowledgeable. The wine list was phenomenal!!! I believe they only serve beer and wine. I'm sure they would be fine bringing kids. I highly recommend that they're very well behaved kids. Everyone there that night were just small intimate parties of two to three people. I could definitely hear the bar side but I feel like it just helped the atmosphere. 😊 It was a very pleasant experience. We ordered appetizers entrees and desserts. I also ordered the Chevre salad. The lamb was great and the duck was amazing. I like that you can see the cooks and the chef preparing the dishes. We ordered quite a few desserts which you can see in the pics! There was just two of us... But I'll splurge on a good dessert!! And every dessert we had was absolutely wonderful!!

I took my family here to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was our first time and we were very impressed. First, the service was friendly and professional. Our server went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Second, the food was amazing. From the appetizers to the desserts every dish was visually appealing but more importantly tasted better than we expected. This restaurant walks the fine line between Alaska casual and Fine Dining and does it well.

We arrived just as they opened for the evening and were seated immediately. Servers were professional, polite, and had good insight into menu options. We ordered the truffle fries which were a delicious appetizer, then a skirt steak and veal medallions for our dinners. Neither dish disappointed, and everything on the plates was delicious. The lingonberry sauce on the veal was particularly noteworthy and brought together the flavors in a way that I don't usually find in a fruit/meat dish. All in it was a very nice place to go have our anniversary dinner while so far from home, and we will most certainly be going back to try more menu items.

Roads were bad out to Girdwood for Double Musky, so we decided to eat out in town. I called Southside Bistro before we headed over to see if they did walk ins at all. They said they did. When we got there it took a bit to actually be greeted, we were asked by another worker if we had been helped yet before the hostess even acknowledged us. This was our 1st time here. We were told wait was about 40min for a table or could wait for the bar. After waiting about 10min a server at the bar asked us if we knew and wanted to sit at an open table in the bar area. We had no idea there was more than just the bar seats as an option. Calamari overall was great, clam chowder I wouldn't order again(flavor was not there), my rockfish with mushrooms on top was amazing(rice with it was meh though), the filet mignon was delicious (veggies and presentation was sad). For main dishes the sides seem as an after thought. Server was very nice, just slow and didn't refill drinks more than once. I had to ask for boxes and check. Dessert we did to go was just decent, sauce and whip cream were not matching for flavor. For how much we paid I expected better overall.
Aubrey V — Google review
We like Southside bistro but my recent reservation didn’t go as expected. Booked a table for 6 and wanted to add two more people on the reservation for a friend’s birthday party. I was told I was already at max and they cannot accommodate two more people to my reservation. I asked for a separate table and was told that was not possible. I asked the person on the phone If I should just cancel my reservation and book somewhere else and she agreed with canceling my reservation. Difficult to understand why a restaurant rather loose money than make accommodation for additional people on a reservation. Good food and atmosphere just make sure not go to with 6 or more people.

This place is a Gem! Went here for Date night and got a wonderful horseshoe table on the side. Started with the flatbread and brie. The Brie was absolutely perfect. The wood fired pizza oven made an excellent flatbread. She ordered the Schnitzel and said it was authentic and very tasty. Lingonberry, and the Dill sauce were standout's. I had the pasta special. A very light and not spicy version of a Italian take on chipotle cream sauce with grilled chicken and rigatoni. It was packed full of flavo. You can tell the Head Chef has skills and training. And frankly for the price the food was excellent value. Presentation excellent. Probably one of the top 5 sit down restaurants in Anchorage. Will go again and try the Veal Tenderloin.

Let’s just say, I’m extremely impressed! Our server was amazing! She managed the table amazing, treated us so well! She had great recommendations! Probably the best service I have received in a long time at a restaurant! Now the food. Equally as amazing. The filet was perfectly cooked to medium rare. So flavorful and delicious. The mash potatoes and veggies were both cooked great! Absolutely finished the entire plate. The cobbler was so good and paired amazing with the ice cream! We also got the pasta and it was super super delicious, just a smaller portion than expected, but I would still order it again! I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for semi fine dining!

Tequila 61 is a rustic-chic restaurant in downtown Anchorage that offers contemporary Latin cuisine, featuring local seafood and an impressive selection of tequila and mezcal. The restaurant combines traditional Mexican flavors with classic Alaskan ingredients to create innovative dishes. The fusion gastropub reflects its dual heritage, with a name that nods to its location at the 61st latitude in Anchorage.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tequila 61 is a must-visit in Anchorage! We had an incredible meal here — hands down one of our best dining experiences on the trip. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious (don’t miss the tortilla soup or the salmon dinner — both were outstanding!). The drinks were just as amazing, and the vibe was perfect. This should’ve been our first stop in Anchorage and should be everyone’s #1 go-to spot. Can’t wait to come back!

From the moment we walked into Tequila 61, the ambiance set the tone for a relaxing dinner. The decor appear to be very well thought out and the flower bouquets are a very nice touch. The Latin music created a laid back vibe that made us feel instantly at home (we are visiting from Orlando). After an afternoon of hiking the Matanuska Glacier, our server Ana A started us with the berry soda and Popcorn Shrimp which was very flavorful. For our main entree, Ana A recommended the 14 oz Gaucho steak which was absolutely just what I needed. We also tried the Halibut and the Duck Confit Tacos as well as the Carne Asada Tacos. The Duck Confit was absolutely delicious!!!!! And for dessert, we wrapped things up with the Horchata Cornbread which was unexpectedly better than I thought it would be. Overall, I loved Tequila 61. If I get the chance to go again beforethe end of my trip, I'm going to try the Salmon.

Cocktails were really good! We weren’t in the mood for margs, but their local versions of a penicillin and a sazerac were really strong and delicious! We were satisfied with the chips and guac. The entire place should have been cleaner (reason for docking one star). Staff was very friendly!!

Best food we've had in Alaska so far. Largest jalapenos I've ever seen in the stuffed jalapeno appetizers. They were delicious, with a smokey flavor in the cheese stuffing. Al Pastor chicken tacos were divine, very flavorful. Waitress knew I liked spicy food so she brought me extra salsa to try on them. Great food and service.

The Pork Chops Adobo is missing the rich, savory depth that true adobo seasoning brings to the dish. The flavors feel somewhat flat and unbalanced, lacking the vibrant punch of garlic, vinegar, and spices that typically define this classic recipe. Furthermore, the combination of refried beans served with rice feels mismatched in texture and flavor; I would much rather enjoy the hearty, zesty notes of Charro beans alongside my rice, as they complement each other beautifully and elevate the overall meal experience.

Beautiful atmosphere. Loved the decor and holiday decorations. Excellent cocktails but wasn’t brave enough to try the $40 margarita, and I am a margarita connoisseur. The tacos were good-we had the duck confit, shrimp tacos. The guacamole and salsa were good, but I wouldn’t write home about it (my Mexican mom wouldn’t say it’s good but she’s a snob). Definitely great for a date night!

Located in the heart of Anchorage, Alaska, Thai Orchid is a family-run restaurant that offers an extensive range of authentic Thai dishes. The owner and chef, Somboon Saraphanh, brings her traditional techniques and flavors from Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand to create a wide selection of Thai noodles, curries, and stir-fries. The informal eatery is known for its friendly and accommodating service as well as its delicious food.
We were greeted and were sat down almost immediately. Our waitress was friendly and was very attentive. I ordered the fresh spring rolls and yellow beef curry (mild). The fresh rolls tasted fresh, light and crunchy — i would have loved if they had chili oil on the tables to mix in the with the sauce thats brought out. The curry flavors were wonderful, potatoes were soft and meat was cooked well! I thought the portions were fulfilling and will definitely be back!

Another Thai joint spotted in Anchorage! On this rainy day, I was craving something hot and spicy—so I headed straight here. The sweet lady greeted me with a glass of ice water and a little bonus bowl of instant noodle soup. Love that energy! My go-to dish at every Thai restaurant? Som Tum, Thai papaya salad! Today I went for the Lao-style version with that ultra-fermented fish sauce. Sooo funky, sooo flavorful, sooo GOOD. I ordered it at spice level 4 out of 5, and honestly? Not quite spicy enough. Next time I’m going full throttle, level 5. For my main, I had Yen Ta Fo noodle soup. The broth instantly sent me back to the streets of Bangkok. Thick, chewy rice noodles and all the right toppings, total comfort food. Will I be back? 100%. If you’re in Anchorage and craving Thai food, add this spot to your list. From one Thai to another—i highly recommend!

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Apparently, they now have new owners. The meal I've ordered for years is not the same. Quite frankly it is terrible! Portion is way smaller, sauce not the same, and quality of the pork belly is awful. Such a shame, as it was one of our go to places. *Update (1/3/2025): My wife got me to try the dish again (Order: S1007), and I did appreciate the reply from the owner. The taste is better than my last experience, but the portion size is extremely small for costing over $21.00. (see third picture) As you can tell from picture 1 vs. picture 3, the pork is cooked better than the last time, but the skin is not popped like the previous owners used to do. Based on the portion size, price, & unpopped pork skin, I will keep my 1-star ratings and seek out other restaurants!
Michael T — Google review
The food tasted fine, but our three meals all came out at different enough times that each of us could have finished eating before the next person got their meal. Must have been understaffed. My kiddo also got sick from his meal. Overall, my experience just didn’t match the ratings this place has.

Restaurant
Xalos Mexican Grill, located on the outskirts of downtown Anchorage, is a fast-casual restaurant known for its generous portions. Their nachos are served on a pizza pan and their burritos are large enough to serve as both lunch and dinner. The shrimp cocktail and tacos, voted some of the best in Anchorage, are particularly popular. The homemade corn tortillas used for the tacos are so delicious that you'll want extra to dip in their array of homemade salsas.
The tortas felt like a small slice of home ! Very delicious fresh ingrediants. The flavor packed inside these sandwiches are a must try .

I NEVER take the time to write reviews—I'm not that kind of person. But this time I decided to do it to see if things can be improved. It used to be my favorite place in the past. I remember they were more attentive about two years ago. There were some young guys working there who were very polite—one of them, I think, was the manager because besides cooking, he also talked to the customers. I remember he was from Mexico (I spoke with him once). I haven’t seen him lately. In a way, it's been a long time since I last came. This time I went, and the meat was hot in some parts and cold in others. I had a super burrito. I know some ingredients come from the cold bar, but the MEAT was completely cold. Also — and forgive me if I’m exaggerating — after I realized the meat in my burrito was cold, I went to the soda fountain and the soda I wanted wasn’t even available! Honestly, I didn’t even say anything because it was clear they were really busy, and I’m not the kind of person to make a fuss. I used to come here a lot back then, and when the other manager was around, I never had a bad meal—and I came very frequently. He and another young guy created a fun and welcoming environment, Hats off to those two!! regards.

All around great dining experience. We’re visiting from out of town and needed a quick bite to eat before heading to Seward. The service was beyond friendly and the food was incredibly flavorful and brought out quickly. We went back to ask for extra chips and they didn’t even charge us! Salsas were free and they have a variety to choose from, though the avocado salsa was my personal favorite. Could not recommend enough!

I consider this fast food but fresh prepared and they deliver it to uour table. Had the steak soft taco, great flavor, quick and reasonably priced. Nice and clean inside, plenty of seating. Lokking for quick Mexican food, dont pass it up.

Wow. If I could give 6 stars, I would because birria is one of my favorite things. And how delightful to find good birria, of all things, way up in Alaska! The quesabirria tacos are generous! The meat is amazing. The asadero cheese is perfect. The consume is so good. And it's a cherry on top to get a roasted jalapeno and delicious salsa. I'd rate it among the best birria I've ever had. I'm so happy to find such a place in Anchorage. It helps break up the monotony of the usual places I go to.

My girlfriend from mexico said this was the best most authentic mexican food she has had since being here and belive me we have tried everywhere. She absolutley loved the food and was so happy to have a taste of home. Portions were huge! The tres leches flan cake was insane!

Wow! Fast and good! Love the atmosphere. Beautiful place and good service.

Please don’t waste your money on the tres leches cake or choco flan. Not even close to being authentic.. not moist or pillowy. Just outrageously sweet and dense. Food is fire though!

Nestled in Anchorage, Hacienda Mexican Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that captures the essence of authentic Mexican cuisine. Families will find it particularly welcoming, with friendly and attentive service that makes you feel right at home. One standout staff member, Ramona, has dedicated 25 years to this establishment and her passion shines through in every interaction. The menu features a variety of dishes that are sure to please any palate.
I loved it, and the fried ice cream dessert was a delightful treat. The pricing is a little high, but the quantity and quality of the food balance it right out. It is definitely worth it. And they sometimes do a coupon that helps stretch the value even farther (thank you for doing that).
Sarah G — Google review
We started out at Poncho Villa restaurant. The service was poor and the facility was dirty. After 10 minutes of no drinks, no guacamole, nor order being taken, we left for Hacienda. The service was premier. The food was outstanding. The restaurant was clean. The music was peaceful. Omg, what night and day between the two places. Our stomachs were filled and attitudes revived. So, go here not there. The other place ranks as top 5 worst food experience.

Food and drinks were delicious! Recommend for pre-party drinks and a snacks to eat before heading out with friends.

This is the BEST Mexican restaurant in town! Such a cute little hole in the wall place, walk in and it's decorated so nicely and we're always warmly welcomed by the staff. They make BOMB margaritas and I'm not being dramatic when I say they have the BEST Carne asada tacos I've ever had! We will be back again and again!

Unfortunately, I can only give five stars but if there were a rating higher, I'd have given it a 6. Incredible series, amazing food, and a phenomenal atmosphere. Thank y'all for a great experience. Sorry it was just from another Texan but we always appreciate the amazing hospitality!!

Food and service was excellent! It was really interesting to see how all of the waitresses helped service the customers. I'm not really sure who are specific waitress was. I know that anytime a drink became empty, if someone passed by they filled it. It was a great experience.

Good as usual. But for the first time ever, we sent our drinks back to the bar. They didn't taste good. But the bar tender quickly fixed them. And we were pleased with the results 😀

The service is horrible.. I ordered a fried ice cream and a flan. The flan was horrible, and bad. The fried ice cream at the beginning was fine, but eating towards the end the ice cream was covered in honey. The honey was also horrible, it didn’t taste right. I called the restaurant to let them know why it didn’t taste good, and I talked to the manager, he told me I was lying and that it wasn’t possible what I was saying.. instead of giving me a solution, he kept telling me I was lying and in the wrong.

Tent City Taphouse is a modern gastropub that pays tribute to the hardworking individuals who contributed to the establishment of the Alaska Railroad and Anchorage's early days as a tent city along Ship Creek. This family-owned gem not only offers cozy indoor seating but also expands into an inviting outdoor cafe-style area during the summer months, located on the south side of 5th Avenue Mall.
We had an excellent meal here while on a pre-cruise tour. My salmon burger was outstanding. Tasty and fresh. It was just perfect. But even better were the garlic cilantro fries! I shared them with the couple sitting next to us and Ive made two lifelong friends! Thanks, Tent City! Worth a trip to Anchorage just for those! My cousin’s halibut was excellent. Tender and so juicy. Perfectly cooked and not greasy. Oh yea, the beers were great, too! Excellent, friendly service.

Our tour guide was batting 1000 with his restaurant recs and this one was no different. Started with the duck fat fries and asked for them to be extra crispy!!!! Perfect and full of flavor!!! Main was their belgian waffle with chicken tenders and a scoop of pineapple-coconut ice cream!!! This is what heaven must be like!!! The ice cream paired beautifully with the chicken and waffle. Pure bliss!!! Service was excellent too despite the restaurant being crazy busy with all the tour groups!!

We did not have reservation but immediate seating. Order was taken quickly and food was served quickly. Not sure if the Pilsner was brewed there or not, but it was very good. Highly recommend. Cod was good/fresh and the batter was nice and thin. Lost a star because the fries had way too many ends & pieces. See pic.

Came with a party of four and we were able to be seated right away which was great considering this was on a holiday weekend. Ordered burgers and the short ribs with shrimp and grits. The two year old in our party said it was the best food she’d ever had. We enjoyed the anchorage style burgers with the jalapeño bacon. Short ribs were pretty good. Also had a hazy IPA which was good. Nothing mind-blowing food wise but overall we all agreed we would dine there again.
Nikki H — Google review
This was a very pleasant surprise. What seemed like just a mall restaurant turned out to be a nice, cozy place with a great menu and tap list. The tap list was all Alaska craft beer, a nice chance to try beer from breweries I didn't expect to be able to visit. I had a hazy from Black Spruce Brewing in Fairbanks that was excellent. If I had not been full from my excellent dinner, a spare rib poutine, I would have explored more. Service was good, but not top notch as the server did not really know the beers when my wife asked. But she was still fast and very pleasant, so it is understandable. I would return here.

This is my new favourite place in downtown anchorage. Good selection of beer. Decent price. Clean & modern bar. Bright. I didn’t order any food this time but it looks good. Will try some on my next visit for sure.

We did not eat here but really enjoyed the draft beers. Loved the IPAs and the heavy porter. Also, the story behind the name and location is quite interesting. That classic (ancient) cash register behind the bar is also very cool. The T-Shirts/swag is also cool so I bought one for ~$20 ! VictorB

Tent City Taphouse is quite the hidden gem! Stopped here on a whim for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. As a lover of sour beers, it was awesome to see the vast selection of sour beers available. The food was immaculate as well. We ordered the Chowder and Pelmeni to start, which were both amazing. For entrees we ordered the Halibut & Chips and Beef Tips, both of which were delicious! Our server, Kayli went above and beyond to make our experience great! Kayli even offered samples of two of the sour beers when I was torn between choices. Overall, if you’re considering a place with great food, great drinks, and quality service - definitely consider Tent City Taphouse!

This is the first place we ate at in Anchorage. I see why it has high ratings. The service is fast, the food is delicious, and the area is clean and pretty. I ordered the halibut street tacos and my husband ordered one chicken and one brisket street tacos.
Michele — Google review
UMMMM SO GOOD!!!! These tacos were incredible. Absolutely get the halibut tacos street style - you will not regret it. My tip - You have to pay extra for salsa and probably don't need it. Only negative for this place is that the smoke from the smoker may blow directly at you while waiting for food and eating given where it's placed. Overall, HIGHLY recommend
Lava — Google review
We kind of happened upon this little gem by accident. We were hungry, pressed for time and saw the smoker outside and people happily waiting around. So glad we did!. We got the salad with chicken and a breakfast quesadilla with halibut and eggs. Everything was soooo fresh. The salsa that came with the quesadilla was sooooo delicious. Nice big portions and super friendly staff! If you happen to be in Anchorage... this place is a must eat while you are here!
Jolinda — Google review
Delicious tacos and burritos, both the standard street tacos we all know and love as well as some inventive twists. Halibut tacos were amazing! The smoke from the BBQ smelled soooo good too. Not a ton of seating and it's all outdoor.
Amy T — Google review
Wow, very tasty Mexican food at a good price. I got the Mex plate with pork which was delicious. They have their own smoker just outside where they were smoking all their meat. After I ordered I saw them tending to the smoker, next time I'll try the brisket for sure!

Everything about this place is amazing! Just being available for summer only makes it a novelty experience. Everyone needs to visit Alaska at least once in their life and I’d say the same thing about El Green-Go’s

Some of the best Mexican food I have ever tasted is in Anchorage AK. There is a little poster in the window of the trailer noting a local award for the best Mexican food in Alaska. We have all seen such things and know that there can be a level of local-boosterism involved. This one is simply real. Everything is right. Superb guacamole fresh from perfect avocados. The crowning touch is the fresh Alaskan seafood integrated into the recipes. Turn left out of the Capton Cook onto 4th St and follow the smoke 3 blocks to the end of 4th and a lunch or dinner that you will remember. It is also one of the less expensive places to eat in downtown Anchorage.

Altura Bistro is a new American restaurant in Anchorage that serves both Mediterranean and American dishes. The restaurant has an elegant, rustic interior with beautiful wooden floors and walls, and great service. The food is absolutely amazing, with a variety of dishes that will leave you feeling satisfied. Whether you're planning a graduation dinner, a birthday party, or just want to treat yourself, Altura Bistro is definitely worth checking out!
The food is absolutely top notch. The service is friendly, fast and professional. The restaurant ambiance isn’t fancy, but it’s relaxed. The sound levels are moderate and would work well for a date or business dinner. Our group didn’t try any of the beef dishes, but the scallops, black cod and halibut were perfectly cooked with rich and tasty sauces that matched a nice white wine perfectly. We had the gnocchi with an aged Parmesan sauce as an appetizer I could have happily stuffed myself with as a main course. The only dish that didn’t wow me was an orange fennel salad. That said, they served absolutely superb coffee made with a French press at the table.
Will F — Google review
Red King Crab Leg is excellent, especially when served together with the Sweet Prawn Bisque. We ordered one cocktail because we had to drive back to the hotel. It was so nice of them to split it into two glasses. The house made (free) bread was good too, especially with their special butter cream. One of the best dinner I’ve had in a while. Ohhh and don’t forget about the dessert Pear. It’s not too sweet (the cream, shortbread, and the wine-poached piece of pear), which makes it the perfect dessert for me.
Yiwen Z — Google review
Awesome service and food for our anniversary! Tried the Brussels sprouts and pork belly apps, coconut curry, seasonal gnocchi, scallops, wagyu steak, and I can’t remember what was ordered for dessert (chocolate mousse cake and bread pudding maybe). Had a great experience and will def be returning!

The food was good. There is still room for improvement. But overall experience is great. I highly recommend the bone marrow appetizer. The bread 🍞 is also on point.

Altura Bistro delivers a thoughtful, elevated dining experience that’s well worth a visit. While not every dish hit the mark, the highlights were memorable and the service was exceptional enough to make this a solid 5-star experience. We started with the Hamachi Collars, which were crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked within, fantastic opener. The Elk Tartare was another standout with its rich balance and refined texture. But the true surprise was the Sweet Prawn Bisque, which struck a superb harmony of flavor, fat, and mouthfeel, hands down a solid choice. The Poached Pear, gently done in white wine, had a lovely texture and made for a delicate interlude. We paired our meal with Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé, a crisp Burgundy white that complemented the seafood and game beautifully. As for entrees, the King Salmon and Alaskan Halibut fell a bit flat, the halibut was slightly overcooked with a soggy crust, and the salmon lacked the punch we were hoping for. The Panna Cotta was solid but nothing particularly memorable. That said, the attentive and welcoming service, along with the standout appetizers and wine pairing, more than made up for the mixed entrees. I’d happily return to explore more of the menu, Altura clearly has the talent and creativity to impress.
Saeed D — Google review
As a restaurant trying to keep that “fine dining” experience, they could work on the ambiance of the dining room. Could have a little more background noise/music. Diming lights might also help :) our meals were VERY flavorful. The texture of my curry in the scallops was perfect! Himachi collar was so good. Will be back! Also shout out to Rambo bringing some good energy to our dinner 🙂
Angelique S — Google review
Prepare for price shock the first time you go in, but then taste how good the food is and realize its worth it. We each tried the filet mignon and it was decadently good. We would definitely recommend as a place for a nice dinner date for occasions or even just to spoil yourself a bit. While we didn't indulge ourselves, they also have a robust wine list and some fairly impressive spirts on offer.
Aaron D — Google review
The chicken sandwich to go is the best thing you’ll eat. I think it’s the Nashville chicken sandwich. Not too spicy, just perfect. It’s enough to share for two people. Flavorful, perfectly cooked, delightful breading and the bun was chef’s kiss. I cannot recommend it enough. 11/10.

GREAT SERVICE AND BEAUTIFUL VIEWS. The Anchorage airport has incredible views and this restaurant is privy to them. The food was very good but the service was excellent. Helpful with advice on the menu and explained the many different rolls. Had the OMG roll and the monster roll. Both were made in front of me and were very good. This is a great place for a quick bite between flights.

Had a few minutes to spare before catching a flight to Fairbanks and I'm glad this was the spot next to my gate! Had Salmon, Yellowtail, and Scallop Nigiri and was amazed. Great quality and absolutely delicious! The sushi chef served a spicy mixed Poke as well that I'm going to be wishing I could find closer to home. Trust this airport Sushi without a second doubt!

I really enjoy sushi on the fly. The options at the Anchorage airport are limited. But sushi on the fly is my favorite spot. Their sushi is very good and better than airport sushi I have had in NYC, their sesame chicken is excellent, and their service is very good. They also offer discounts for airline staff. If you are in ANC before they close, don’t skip this spot.
Daniel R — Google review
A great little place for sushi, they made me a really good dragon roll and really paid attention to the details and it was quite tasty, albeit on the Sweet side, but I suppose that people like that on average. Very friendly and quick service and almost reasonably priced for airport food.

Better than typical airport sushi. We had the veggie roll (ok), salmon poke (good, but note not wild salmon), orange chicken (good), and stir fry seafood rice (good, but more Chinese than Japanese 🙂). The food was served pretty fast. They have several large tvs with sports games on, so you have some distraction. Staff is pretty friendly, and polite. All in all a pretty good place to grab some good Japanese food before you hop on to your outbound flight.

I dont understand what all these other reviews are talking about with the automatically added gratuity. I just paid my bill and there was no auto gratuity. Service was good and the food was delicious! This was the first time I had sashimi, and it was fantastic! The sushi chef did great!

This place was recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed. We had the fajitas with halibut, shrimp, chicken, and steak. Different tequila I hadn't tried. Good margaritas on the rocks. The refried beans were awesome as well. I'm definitely eating here again. The owner clearly cares about what he does.

I wanted to go back the moment I left! Chips and salsa on the table were great, we had to get more. He got the Burrito de Asada burrito and I got the Chile Verde. Everything was freshly made and hot when it was served. The rice and beans were flavorful and a bit runny, so if you like a thicker bean this may not be for you. The meat was sooo tender and juicy, it fell apart in my mouth and it was like eating butter. Which I was impressed with considering we had steak and pork. The burrito was my favorite and I'm still going to go back and get my own. I will DEFINITELY be going back here. Mike was my wonderful server, and he helped me make a decision on what to get and gave good recommendations. He was attentive and checked on us to make sure we had everything set needed. The booths were clean and the atmosphere was very friendly. They also offer Sunday football! *21+* I had a tequila sunrise and it was more tequila than sunrise but I'm also a lightweight, but it was definitely well made! Next time will try a blended Margarita.

Spinz Pollo a la Brasa is a well-known restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska, offering mouthwatering Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken. The chickens are brined for 12 hours and slow-cooked over charcoal at 185 degrees, resulting in incredibly flavorful dishes. Despite some negative reviews, many customers praise the welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. The cozy establishment is highly recommended for those looking to savor delicious wood charcoal-grilled chicken with specialty sides that are worth trying.
First time going and it was delicious--we had both the white and dark meat options with corn fritters, arroz congri, cilantro mojo chicken, and green and red sauces. It's a lot of food and it came quick. Everything is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The chicken was delicious and moist, even the breast, and my favorite were the fritters. I preferred the red sauce because it had a tiny bit of spice. I hope they're popular and grow enough to eventually have a dining in option, because that's the only down side--it's strictly take out. We'll be back.

We had gone to Grow North Farms for their market. We had a wonderful time. Enjoyed some Egyptian sweets. But there was no food truck. We found Spinz, a Peruvian cookery. Ohhhhhhh...the chicken was warm and tender and juicy and flavorful. We got the yucca fries which were crisp on the outside and tender inside. Our only other experience with yucca fries was PANGEA. We got coleslaw and got the arroz chaufa which was spicy and tasty. This was a memorable meal.

Saw them from the McDonald's line and decided it was a lot less waste on my wallet and health. BEST decision I made that day! The chicken is incredibly juicy while the skin was crispy! The flavors were good, and the sides were pretty delicious, they gave me a few sampler cups to try the other stuff and I appreciated it! I would pick this over KFC, Chicken Shack, or Raising Cane's. If you haven't tried them out yet, you are missing out! The picture of the corn was their display but looked delicious.

We were so excited to come Try Spinz! We also like to rate a place based on the Service and the quality of the food. The food was excellent and delish! It’s upsetting that some folks that come here to compare the fusion style Peru Food to The authenticity of the dish. It’s in the name It’s a tasty fun Twist of Peru Food! We enjoyed it the service was outstanding, all smiles , as a veteran I love supporting locally owned and veteran owned business. You can’t compare a dish in the states that’s a fusion of a countries food to the home land food in that country , that’s nonsense . The food is delish and I will be back!

Great spot in Eagle River. Food is very tasty!! Got the bruschetta, French onion soup, and steak pizza. I wouldn’t recommend getting those three things together because they all have garlic and onion so it ended up being very salty. That being said I would get those three things again but just pair them with different appetizers/entrees.

I ordered the filet steak, requesting it to be cooked medium, but it arrived closer to medium-well. Despite this, the steak was still quite flavorful, though the dish was overwhelmed by a heavy-handed amount of sauce. It drowned out the natural flavors of the meat, which was disappointing. I had also opted for the "Oscar Style" preparation, expecting fresh, succulent king crab lump meat. However, it was served with a mediocre crab cake on top, which fell short of the experience I was hoping for. The accompanying potato lacked seasoning, and with no salt or pepper on the table, it felt like the final touches were missing. My partner tried the Fig, Goat Cheese and caramelized onion pizza. While the flavors were intriguing, the sweetness of the fig dominated the dish, similar to the sauce issue with my steak. We found that the balance of flavors could have been improved to enhance the overall enjoyment. Unfortunately, service didn’t help redeem the meal. Our server didn’t check on us after delivering our dishes, nor did they come back to take another drink order. The inattentive service paired with the imbalance in flavors left us with an overall experience that was decent, but far from stellar. For those seeking a trendy spot to enjoy a meal and drinks, Corks and Hops has a nice ambiance, but the attention to detail—both in service and execution of the dishes—could use some improvement.

The wine selection really is delicious. I liked the pairings of food and wine. The price was a bit high for the quality I expected from the ambiance. The atmosphere was lovely. I expected more for the $17 shrimp add on. But, I also harvest my own shrimp in Alaska. That could have altered my experience, and I should have never cheated on my freezer 😁 full of collosal sized shrimps. 🦐

Two people, we chose the specials. The steak was good , but the halibut plate needed seasoning. This would have been a good meal if the price point was less. Beer selection was lacking and wine selection was pricier than preferred.

Came the first time as soon as they opened for lunch with my husband. We had the French onion soup and tomato soup- delicious! The burgers had us wanting more and came back a few weeks later with our four kids as we know they love burgers. It all looked the same but tasted completely different, dry to the point we couldn’t take another bite. Very disappointed as we came all the way from Palmer to have a meal. They didn’t make us pay, good customer service. Will not come back due to not knowing what we will get.

I have been to corks and hops many times for dates and also for a nice a relaxing fun times with friends. This is a place that you want to go with you want to relax with your spouse or good friends, enjoy great food, deserts etc… The atmosphere here is the best in Eagle River in my opinion. The decor of how the bar and wine is displayed and the rustic feel is always a breathe of fresh air! I’ve had multiple entrees and deserts and all of them are great! If I had to suggest something it would be the Pizzia. I’m normally a beer guy and don’t get me wrong their beers are great but I love the pairings that you can make with the vast red wine menu! Deserts are great and I’d recommend this place of course for birthday’s. Cheers from me to you!

This place was very nice with decor. It was very fancy for a restaurant. I tried the special steak and the first bite was amazing. It was soft and chewy and felt a burst of flavor. It was expensive for $55 and the menu has $20 and more but it was definitely worth it. Would come again if I had the money.
Shannon T — Google review
Update to my 5 star review: if I could give more stars I would. Corks and hops is amazing. They continue to impress every time they update their amazing menu. The only time I’ve ever been disappointed was when I wanted 2 different entrees but couldn’t eat both. My wife and I regularly eat here and are always happy to see Ashley and Shelby specifically. They are always kind and friendly, are knowledgeable about the food and drink menus, and make fantastic conversation. Ignore any haters, or better yet, read their reviews and laugh at their wild inaccuracy and petty nonsense. Anyone that says it’s pricey is just angry that one generally pays for quality. Everything about this place is awesome. Their crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms are a must have. Their steaks are to die for, and their lunch menu reigns supreme!

Lei's Poke Stop is a must-visit spot for those craving authentic Hawaiian flavors in the northern reaches of Alaska. The friendly and helpful staff offer a nice variety of freshly made poke choices with vibrant and filling flavors at reasonable prices. Their Hawaiian ice is also highly recommended, especially for sharing with family and friends. Additionally, they offer a great assortment of snacks and treats from Hawaii, providing excellent value for the cost.
I cannot believe nobody told me about this place before now, it's excellent. Easily the best poke I've had in Alaska. The shaved ice is excellent, but for my taste next time I'm going to ask them to make it a little less sweet (if possible). They also have a great assortment of snacks and treats sent over from Hawaii (coconut balls FTW). Lots of flavors and choices to choose from, and excellent value for the cost. I'll be back many times to eat my way through the menu.

The only reason there is color besides the tuna and 3 edamame in this photo is because I put soy sauce on the rice. no flavor at all. Literally tastes like chopped up tuna and rice. No seasoning or anything! It’s definitely edible and it won’t break the bank. just Meh. Honestly $16 at BK is better spent. Won’t be back. To the owner I say good luck and god speed.

Great and I mean Great Poke. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Nice variety of Poke choices to choose from and freshly made. Flavors were vibrant and filling. Prices were reasonable and portions sizes exactly as advertised. Also their Hawaiian ice was just as on point. Nice large serving is great for sharing with family and friends. If you want to find a little slice of Hawaii in the up north of Alaska, this is the spot. Highly recommend in the area and looking for a nice eatery in the area.

Came acoss this little poke and shaved ice shop while driving around the area. I ordered da Spicy Furikake Bowl and da Californian and both was so fresh and onolicious. The service was fast and filled with Aloha. I will definitely be stopping here whenever I am in Anchorage to visit my daughter!

It ain't Foodlands but it's pretty darn good poke. Props for actively giving discounts to military folks.

The musubi was really good. The poke was okay. Will come back to try it out again.

Seared ahi was phenomenal!! The California poke was good a little creamy but the rice and portions are great! Super refreshing!

Absolutely incredible. Solid portions, plenty of poke in the poke bowl, delicious musubi kept warm, lovely and super nice people running it. Could not recommend enough. 10/10 worth it, definitely going back.

Mexican restaurant
Serrano’s Mexican Grill takes pride in serving authentic family recipes and classic dishes made from scratch, along with daily specials featuring local, seasonal ingredients. The restaurant is known for its popular carne asada and tamale special. Customers have praised the friendly staff, clean environment, and fresh salads with house-made dressings. The menu offers a variety of options including vegetarian-friendly choices and new twists on traditional favorites.
Serrano’s Downtown is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in Anchorage! Located in the heart of downtown, right across from the Anchorage Visitor’s Center, it’s within walking distance of many local attractions. It’s the perfect spot to grab a bite while exploring the city. Their food is next-level. Everything is made from scratch—fresh salsa, chips made to order, and margaritas with limes squeezed daily by hand. They use real ribeye for their meats and carve it in-house, which makes such a difference in quality. The restaurant itself is stunning. From the locally handmade décor, like the sconces and woven artwork, to the private banquet room next door that seats over 100 people, every detail has been thoughtfully crafted. The service is exceptional, too. Pablo always greets you with a warm smile, and they have some of the best and friendliest bartenders in town. Plus, they have live music on the weekends, which makes it the perfect spot to unwind. I also love how much Serrano’s gives back to the community—they sponsor youth soccer teams and truly care about their customers. Every restaurant makes mistakes, but Serrano’s always goes above and beyond to make things right, which is so important. Whether you’re a local or visiting, I highly recommend Serrano’s Downtown for a fantastic meal, great service, and an unbeatable atmosphere.

Not a bad little spot in Anchorage. In general, tex-mex is not great anywhere in Alaska but this place did a solid job of making a neat atmosphere for dining in and had decent tacos. The primary complaints are amount of cheese creating tons of oil all over the tortilla, I'd ask to hold that next time. Have to pay for chips and salsa...a complaint amongst familiar with real tex mex in the lower 48. The staff were nice. Seating isn't comfortable in the high top table area, get the bench seating. 3 tacos, chips and salsa, water was $36.
Cason R — Google review
This place was ok. We order the El Gober and brisket tacos and were pretty underwhelmed by both entrees. We did try the Churro Cheesecake for dessert and that was very good. It is nice place with a good vibe, but I wouldn't be interested in returning for anything but drinks and dessert.
Mr. W — Google review
The vibe was so cute! The food was great, I got chicken tacos but the real star was the asada fries. The cocktail with the charcoal was also incredible. My only negative was that it wasn’t crowded so it was pretty quiet, which was surprising given how good it was.
Ty O — Google review
While the decor, food presentation, and service are good, the food leaves MUCH to desired. First off, Serrano's reeked of some kind of chemical cleaner, to the point it triggered a minor headache. The staff were friendly, quickly took my order and brought it to me. The plating was pretty; however, flavor was non-existent, almost tasted off. I ordered the enchiladas suzias and asada fries with queso. The queso on the fries was a sort of tasty, but everything else lacked seasoning, spices, or anything to make it enjoyable. It almost had a chemical taste. The enchiladas suzia had no poblano sauce I could taste and was covered in what tasted like melted mozzarella. When I received my bill, the server had added $5 for the queso on the fries; the menu did not state there was an additional cost and another staff member did remove it promptly when I brought it to her attention. The restaurant charges a surcharge for using a credit card, which I believe is not listed on the menu and, frankly, in poor taste (as it feels like the owners are nickel and diming their guests). They do not offer chips and salsa as a complimentary option (not expected, just common in most Mexican restaurants). I personally will not visit again and don't recommend Serrano's.

We rented serranos space next door and it was amazing, Monica was the sweetest to work with! She did amazing and was so attentive the server yovani was attentive kind and truly over the top! We will be doing more events here soon. Decor by Mesme.events
Alondra M — Google review
The chicharon ribeye was PHENOMENAL. Everything was mid, from the salsa to the servers to the margarita. Would return but only got that one meal. Nachos were too costly and the salsas all had too much heat and not enough flavor.
Joao P — Google review
An absolute slice of heaven. The food is delicious and the drinks are on point. Even during the day on a random week day this place is absolutely awesome. I walked in just looking for a place to hang out for an hour or so, and this place made my day. The quesabirria tacos were perfectly crispy and flavorful, exactly how they should be. The drinks were delicious and the wait staff was super encouraging on trying their cocktails - this place will not disappoint!

When you're traveling to or from Alaska, especially with a film crew in tow, finding the right place to unwind is essential. Enter Upper One Lounge, a cozy spot that serves as a perfect retreat after navigating the airport hustle. Located conveniently outside of TSA near Delta check-in, it offers fantastic views for plane enthusiasts eager to catch sight of runways 7 and 25.
It’s open! Google said it was closed. Outside if TSA by the Delta checkin. Great viewing for Plane spotting runways 7 and 25 Left and Right. Food good too. Burgers chicken pizza rice Bowles, desserts. For plane spotting after TSA take the stairs to the second level. There is a little museum about Anchorage, aircraft seating loungers and view of both runways. Very quiet too.
Christopher C — Google review
Food was great. Service was good. The bar area reeked of spilled beer, but the dining area offered a great view of the runway, not much for decor. Reasonably priced and a delicious chili Dog!
Grant H — Google review
Food was delicious. Not a fancy place and service took awhile but we were hungry. Prices are reasonable for an airport. Excellent nachos and burgers.
Lara O — Google review
I almost had everything on the menu. And just remember this is airport Food. It’s not the best but it’s not the worst food at the airport. Service is always good. If you are hungry and don’t want to get out of the airport, this is you best option.

Ordered 2 small glasses of cabernet which were $10 each on the menu, and got charged $16 each. Double check what you're being served and also what you get billed for. Not cool.

Great spot after you pick up your bags. Just had to stop after my flight to grab an Alaskan Amber and some reindeer chili (I got the rice bowl). I was delighted to find extra veggies in the chili in addition to the reindeer sausage! So yummy!

We arrived at 11:15am and we were told the kitchen wasn't open yet but would be open in 40ish minutes. We said fine, we would have a cocktail and wait as we had time to kill. The server/bartender sat in his chair for roughly 5 minutes before bothering to get our drink order. Got us a drink then went and sat back down and played on his phone. Roughly 45 mins later he asks us if we want another drink and tells a table next to us the kitchen is still about 10 mins out. Fine, so be it. He then forgets our drinks and it takes him another 10-15 mins for those to arrive. Husband goes to restroom and he is around corner outside restroom on his phone. Startled, he heads back into the restaurant. We then start seeing others get food that arrived long after us. He finally takes our order which was just a cheeseburger to split. Mind you it isn't busy at all...2 tables of 1,.a table of 3 having a beer and a 2 top. The other tables had all finished eating and 45 mins after we ordered we still hadn't gotten food. He claimed the ticket got lost which was obviously a lie as the whopping other 4 people that were eating were finished. We left 2 hours later...still hungry and no cheeseburger in sight, we said forget it This is an airport, people are on a time crunch.

Alaska Doghaus, located in the B concourse of Anchorage Airport, offers a variety of meal options for travelers. Despite some negative reviews about their hot dogs, others have enjoyed their salmon burger and chili at reasonable prices. The only downside is that there's often only one employee managing both Alaska Doghaus and the adjacent Cinnabon, which can lead to longer wait times.
I enjoyed this place! I got a salmon burger and chili. You order at the counter and wait for your food. It took about 10 minutes because the salmon burger was freshly cooked. The food was very good considering it's airport food, and at reasonable prices. The only small complaint is that the employee often is the only employee at both the this food establishment and the conjoining Cinnabon at the same time, so the wait can be a little longer. I'm not sure how often she's working alone for both places though!

I just received the worst customer service ever in my entire life the girl working tonight 6/14/24 was absolutely disgusting did not change gloves or was hands hair was down and fell on some ones food. I for one will never return to this place and I advise anyone else to stay away!

Eric from Alaska Doghaus in the B concourse of Anchorage Airport is by far the nicest employee in that airport. After a miserable experience with virtually everyone in the airport, Eric served us with the upmost courtesy and really made us feel warm and welcome. Give this man a raise today!!!

Patrick was by himself and I stood in line and watched him for 15 minutes while I waited to order then waited for my food and he was amazing. Never getting annoyed or overwhelmed, just clearly a hard working guy doing his best. Haven’t even tried the food but the service was amazing
