Such a unique place - as a tourist you HAVE to go. Buzzing place at night but particularly I recommend going during the day. You get to see how great this place is and everything it has. Day drinking in a ruin bar will easily become the highlight.

I don’t go to bars, so I haven’t experienced Szimpla Kert at night, but visiting during the Sunday market was really nice! From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., local producers offer a wide range of fresh and artisanal products, including breads, cheeses, honey, jams, yogurts, pasta, and traditional Hungarian sweets. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and entry is free—perfect for anyone wanting to explore the local culture in an authentic way.

Hands down one of the highlights of my trip to Budapest. Beautiful randomness. Multiple rooms and vibes. Great music. Great drinks. Amazing ambiance. What more could you ask for?

Such a cool and new experience for me! I went both day and night, and they both had two very different vibes. I would recommend getting a coffee in the morning to explore the flea market as well and at night visiting around 7-8pm to avoid the queue (weekend) and grabbing a cherry ale. The cherry ale was lovely and the interior blew my mind. Strongly recommend to visit!

We visited early evening around 6pm and it was busy but very very touristy. And the service is very poor, plus the drinks are so expensive - we would not go back here as it’s not a “local” experience. So many other places around here with much more atmosphere and authenticity. It’s a series of rooms spread over two floors and centered around a large open courtyard. Saying that, I’m glad we went to see what the hype was all about. But I believe that if you’re in your 20’s then this place is where it all happens and it starts to come into its own after 11pm and into the early hours of the morning!

Free entry, long and wide space with multiple rooms and floors and music. Combination of both inside/outside bars and dance floors. Opened late but started to pick up just after midnight. The atmosphere was wild, it was busy music was ok drinks were expensive.

It's a interesting place Different rooms and different environments around also you will find different musics playing. It's a shame that I went earlier and I couldn't stay until late night to see the full house but I can image how fun it is. Imagine you get in a labyrinth that everywhere you explore you would find something fun

Absolutely loved this place! 17 different bars and lots of different rooms and areas to drink/eat and dance. Reasonable prices and an amazing atmosphere - quite a young crowd (we are older but didn’t feel out of place ) excellent lively place - didn’t eat but the food looked good.

You can’t get bored in this place!😻😻 it has so many things to see and such a great atmosphere! Though it does need more chairs in the ground floor. A bit confusing about the bars though, we asked if we could have one mojito in one of the bars that had the big board with cocktails but the guy told us we had to pese it somewhere else because he couldn’t make it, not sure why they have the board there then. Prices are alright, I feel like the water should be cheaper tho. A lot of things to see and really worth going for a good party! Different genres in every room and really just good vibes!

Instant Fogas is a must-visit in Budapest! Huge ruin club with multiple dance floors, bars, and different music styles for every taste. The vibe is electric, the crowd lively, and the atmosphere truly unique. Perfect place to party all night and experience Budapest’s famous nightlife!

Great party place, lots of tourists. You have variety of parties for everyone. From house to rave/techno music. Drinks are very much affordable, one of the security guards who was on the first floor was extremely rude and not accommodating, by not allowing people to pick up their own jackets from inside area because he thinks there are too many people inside that area…

We booked the VIP booth next to the DJ on Saturday and had an awesome time, the Dj really good and energetic, the security did a great job in making it feel exclusive, I would also like to give a special mention to our server Emma, she was very helpful and attentive to our needs at all time. What an incredible experience! My friends and I were visiting Budapest for a stag do and Otkert was at the top of the list of venues we wanted to visit. We can now say it was a great decision and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The VIP service was truly exceptional on both nights we attended. On Friday, we enjoyed the Gold Area, and the service was top-notch. Then, on Saturday, we had pre-booked the Diamond Area right next to the DJ booth, and it was even better! A massive shoutout to Emma, who was our main waitress both nights. She was absolutely brilliant – attentive, friendly, and made our experience unforgettable. We'll definitely repeat if we return to Budapest!!!

Overall, we had a good time – the music and atmosphere were really nice. However, there was one very unpleasant moment: a security guard grabbed my friend roughly by the hand, insisting she show him her bag, even though she didn’t even have a bag with her. After realizing that, he still pulled her strongly just to “check” and then called her an idiot. It didn’t completely ruin our night, but it was a very disrespectful gesture that shouldn’t happen in such a place.

Didn’t like place, didn’t like food- tried Langos but it was served almost cold, not tasty and sausage on it was not good. One langos no drink 15€. Would not come there ever and don’t recommend to even stop by. Overpriced food drinks. There are many much much better places around that area.

...the location is spot on in the city of Budapest. As other reviews told, rather very young audience. I have been there with my wife and we both have risen the avarage age dramatically. Starting with a lot of girls, early but later only young boys hanging around on the dance floor. The music was,..., at least dance-able, but truly got repeated after three hours. So overall funny experience for us, mostlikely we were not the targeted audience. Bar crew was kind and quick, loos were kept clean.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, amazing service though I didn’t realise that I was charge for extra things that I was told came as part of my meal and my husbands meal an extra €4 each plus they charged for ketchup and mayonnaise in a restaurant. They also charge 15% automatic service charge on anything you purchase which is off putting to add to your bill plus when you go to pay they still ask if you want to leave a tip on top of it like what can I not just go out and eat and enjoy my meal without worrying about service charge and additional tip? Hmmm the food was good but not that good to leave 15% tip on top of 15% service charge, plus the food was not cheap for Budapest. This is not good at all as now I wouldn’t recommend my friends or family to visit and face these extra fees at the end of a meal. Lovely service food was good but too many no no nos for me.

A spacious bar with a lovely atmosphere that’s genuinely enjoyable to spend time in. The young waitress who served us was very polite and attentive. She helped us choose our drinks, especially with the fröccs, and we tried several cocktails — most of which we really liked. The only downside was the slow service, but it was clear that the number of staff wasn’t enough for how busy the place was, so I don’t blame the employees for that. The management definitely needs to address this.

The place an unique atmosphear. You can come here alone to enjoy a moment of reflection holding a drink, with friends -which would be the most fun option- , or to work in case you are a bit of a nomad, like me. This is one of my favorites places in this part of the city. It is close to Calvin Ter and Astoria. You cannot miss visiting this place!

Extremely quirky bar / cafe / muso joint. Highly eclectic decor in a beautiful old function room. Great beer. Not too strong so good for easy drinking. And yes we found the loos first try.

This café/ruin bar has an incredible atmosphere—eclectic, vintage décor and a welcoming vibe that make it a memorable spot. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the charm. That said, the drinks can be hit-or-miss when it comes to taste, which can take away from an otherwise fantastic experience. Worth visiting for the ambiance alone.

We stayed there for an hour or so to have gin tonic and whiskey shot which cost us around 4500 HUF. The staff are so friendly and respectful can speak English. The place is cosy pub with lots of small things to watch. We satisfied from the service and like the place.

A ruin bar we actually enjoyed! We are middle aged now and found the ones down in the Jewish quarter a little rowdy for our liking. We stumbled on this place just before going home and finally understood the charm of the ruin bars. Can highly recommend a visit here.

A whimsical, eccentric, gloriously mismatched portal where the furniture tells stories and nostalgia hums through the air like a half-remembered dream. Right now, I’m lounging in what can only be described as the most regal bathtub this side of the Danube — sliced neatly in half and reimagined into the perfectly strange chair. Sturdy, sleek ceramic — the kind your grandparents might’ve scrubbed up in, now reborn as an artistic throne for sipping sparkling water and contemplating life. A lamp glows nearby, filled — yes, filled — with cassette tapes. Not ironic. Not fake. Actual magnetic tape relics that would confuse half the clientele in the best way. It's not décor, it's a shrine to the analog gods. And then, like a blessing from above, Elton John comes on. “Crocodile Rock.” Followed by “Rocket Man.” Not the Shatner version, but let's be clear: The William Shatner version of Rocket Man deserves praise. He didn’t perform it — he transcended it. Shatner transformed that song into something operatic, haunting, and wildly, gloriously unhinged. It’s not just performance — it’s cosmic performance art. If Csendes had a shrine in the back dedicated to that version alone, I’d light a candle. And speaking of praise — shoutout to the staff here. I ordered a sparkling water and nobody blinked. No judgment, no weird looks — just patient, genuinely friendly service that made me feel welcome, hydrated, and very much not alone in my sober curiosity. Csendes is where you go when you want a drink — not necessarily an alcoholic one — and a vibe so rich in soul and strangeness it feels like sitting in a David Lynch dream scored by Elton John. Come for the bathtub. Stay for the playlist. And always, always honor the Shatne

This is a very cool performance venue showcasing musicians and programs almost every evening. There is a bistro onboard serving breakfast and all day menu until evening hours. There are stages on the bow and roof terrace so there can be more than one performance per evening. Stop by if you see a music genre to your liking!

Well.. The Bistro was fantastic..the food..the service.. Then the bars where awesome and nightclub on the top floor was epic.. Fun..good music and friendly people.. Its a must when in Budapest

I had a great evening at Tetőterasz even though the weather wasn't super generous! Great house music on a Thursday afternoon into the sunset. Love this venue great to back after 13 years.

Fantastic food and great people. Bit of a walk from the city center, however it’s well worth the walk, and after eating the food, walking back will definitely help you burn off a bit of what you just enjoyed. I was there for restaurant week and the offerings didn’t disappoint. The food looked and tasted too good for me to take pictures, but the main course of braised pork cheeks and roasted potatoes were a must try if they are on the menu when you go. The pickled radishes were unexpectedly delicious and will be adding that to my recipes when I get home. Try it out for yourself

I had two very negative experiences at this club. First, the band I came to see was 2 hours late – something I only found out after I had already entered. I wanted to step outside for some food and a walk along the river, but they told me if I left, I wouldn’t be allowed back in. After waiting two hours, I received a token without any explanation. When I ordered a drink, I was told I had to pay extra. Later I realized the token was probably for a smoker’s cup, but no one explained this to me. I asked for my money back, but instead I was given an extra cup. The bartender upstairs (the shorter woman with black hair) refused to help, and I was left with two cups I didn’t want. Staff speak very poor English and are not friendly toward foreigners. Overall, if you are not Hungarian, better go somewhere else.

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this club. During the event, some foreign men were behaving inappropriately and insulting young women on the dance floor. What made the situation worse was that there was no security staff present downstairs where everything was happening. I had to go upstairs to find someone to report the problem to, which is unacceptable in a place that hosts crowded night events. A club should make sure guests feel safe and respected at all times. I hope management takes this seriously and improves the security presence and crowd control, so no one has to go through a similar experience again.

Dürer Kert is one of the music venues and night club for rock, indie and electronic music in Budapest especially live performances. It has a big hall and big scene and also second hall. There are really famous local groups performing. Since 2021 their new place is huge and There is a bar, you can buy ticket online and on the premises. Only not-well-planned part is cloak room, at winter, there is a long queue to give and take away your belongings. It has a spacious garden looking at Danube with hammocks, to play table ball, petanque and to grill or cook in cauldron (to cook gulyas leves : ) and required material even fuel is provided by Durer Kert personnel) It has a huge car park with Wheelchair-accessible car park. Wheelchair-accessible entrance, toilet and seating is available. You can go there by bus as well, 133 is the closest one. The venue is a little far to the city center and not easy to reach. But by car, they have a huge car park as I said. You can buy ticket online from their website or queue before the concert, but recommend to go there in advance and chill at the place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly great spot for live music and laid-back summer evenings! We went to a small weekday concert by the Platon Karataev Duo, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The garden is beautifully lit after dark, creating a very pleasant vibe. There were four open drink stations, so no long lines, and the prices were fair. Another big plus: Dürer Kert is right by the Danube, just walk down the steps and you’re at the water. All in all, highly recommended; we’ll gladly come back!

Sound was good, cool venue with a good line-up and massive outdoor space. I wish the weather was better when I was there, so we could enjoy the Danube shore, but anyway. The crowd is also, you know, young people, so it’s a pretty friendly and welcoming place.

Cool place for both indoor and outdoor events, music ranges from acoustic cover bands to psytrance, there's something for everyone. Prices are okay too, plenty of places to sit and the dancefloor is big too. Security guys can be off-putting sometimes, also it's on the Buda side of town so some atrocities are par for the course

Great venue for metal shows. I saw Thrown and Crystal Lake here. The sound was amazing!!! Good bar service also.

There is no doubt this is the best gig venue in Budapest. The acts they book truly show that they know music, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Mogwai, God is an Astronaut etc. The place is cool, great location and reasonable prices

We went here on a saturday evening, arrived at around 11 PM and there were some people but not as many as we expected. There are many options for cocktails and they're good but we had a hard time ordering. There were 8 of us and we ordered one by one and wanted to pay seperately which took a bit more time because the 2 ladies which were working on our orders got a bit confused. I ended up paying around 2700 HUF (7 EUR) by card for a mojito but the menu said the price was 2200 HUF (5.64 EUR). On the bright side, we got free shots because one lady gave us coupons in front of the entrance. I didn't really like the DJ's choice of music. There were some good songs at the beginning but later, right when people started to dance, he ended up playing some slower/sadder songs which went on for too long so it killed the mood on the dance floor. The decor is amazing, and the lighting is beautiful. I think it's busier in August or July (we went there in the middle of September).

The worst experience I’ve ever had in a nightclub. We were a group of 12 people, all of legal age to enter, and one of the guys was unfairly accused by the security staff of having drugs on him, which was completely false! To make things worse, they made up an absurd story that he had already tried to enter earlier wearing different clothes — which was impossible, and we even showed photo evidence with timestamps proving it. From that moment, the security guards became extremely aggressive, threatened us with physical violence and pepper spray, and refused to listen to any explanation. I asked to speak with the manager and requested the complaint book, which took them over 30 minutes to bring. Even after I wrote the complaint, they kept threatening us, which is absolutely unacceptable. The situation escalated so badly that I had to call the police. They came to the location, took down the names of the security guards involved, and confirmed that was all they could do. A night completely ruined by an aggressive, arrogant, and totally unprofessional security team. I do not recommend Doboz to anyone. If you value respect and safety, stay away from this place.

The security guys are so arrogant and racist. I was inside and I left my airpods inside and wanted to go back to take them. It was an event before the party. Even tho I spoke with the guy in Hungarian he didn't let me in and his response was like your face is not good with a smirk on his face. I mean how arrogant and pathetic you can be. You work as a security for a club. Get a life dude.

Worst place ever. I had the worst experience with security and management in my life. When arriving to the door to go in, security just told me that I could not go in, without a reason. When I asked to speak to a manager, they threatened me with pepper gas and I had to call the police. Besides security team, I’ve been there in some parties before, and the workers at the bar are also very rude. The music is like a 2 or 3 out of 5. This was surely the last time I went there.

One of Budapest's most famous Ruin Bars. It has cleaner and more spacious areas compared to other bars. I think the staff are polite and more professional compared to similar bars. They could make better choices in terms of music.

Was looking for alternatives to Szimpla, saw this joint. Dragged all my mates here, dead empty at 10. At some point, 100 people rocked up and left 15 minutes later. Apparently, they buy 5 star reviews with shots of juice. Idk just go to a real bar and don't let your friends down like I did.

All the classic characteristics of the many ruin style bars around Budapest. Lots to look at and explore while enjoying a reasonably priced drink. Took a star off for although we were early for their busy party time but still after 9.00pm the music was playing very low and definitely would have created a better vibe had it been louder.

Booked for drinks on roof top terrace. As soon as you walk into this restaurant you are presented with stunning surroundings. Theres a piano and someone singing. Next time will definitely be booking for dinner. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Drinks were really good. Definitely worth a trip but would make a reservation.

One of my highlights in my Budapest solo trip. Went here for sunset Oct 9th. The rooftop, ambiance, service are amazing. The hostess that seated me was so kind and also my female server ✨. I was visiting the Basilica and stumbled on this gem 🥹❤️ Appreciate your warm hospitality!!! I had an unfortunate mishap at the train station arriving from Vienna (lost my wallet, cash, cards), but coming here made my day and appreciate I am safe, I am lucky to be here in Budapest. Aria hotel had the best views and centrally located. The lobby was aesthetically beautiful with piano keys and someone was playing the grand piano. Beautiful venue, indoor and outdoor seating on top of a very nice hotel. Our experience for the food and service was very poor for the price. There was one server for almost all of the tables on a very busy weekend and asking for something took forever. I ordered the duck with side salad and waited almost 45 minutes for dressing while my duck went cold. Someone came to apologize and offer drinks for the issue and then we were charged for everything. I would only recommend coming here for a drink and the beautiful views.

Probably the best place to be if you’re looking for bad service. There was one sweet and sympathetic girl, but aside from her, the manager and the men in suits were arrogant and dismissive. The drinks are overpriced, with both the quantity and quality far below what you pay for. When I complained about this, the manager shrugged and said: “That’s what we do here. If you don’t like it, we cannot do anything.” Yes, the view is nice, and everything looks clean, but strangely there were more staff members walking around than actual guests sitting at tables. That should already tell you something. When I tried to pay with American Express, I was told “nobody in Budapest accepts AMEX.” That’s ridiculous—we had used AMEX everywhere else in the city, from small restaurants cafe kor, New York Cafe, or four seasons, or to buying the Budapest Card on the streets. If you’re going to lie, at least know your facts. On top of that, when we left, they even argued with us, saying “people who spend €400 here don’t complain.” Well, we didn’t complain at Hotel New York either—because there the service, food, and quality actually matched the price. This place? Probably the very last spot in Budapest you’d want to waste your money on.

This was by far the best way to round out my day in Budapest. I was instantly greeted by friendly and genuine smiles from EVERY worker and their cocktails are just mind blowing. Don’t shy away from their recommendations! They’re so flavorful and unique and paired so perfectly with the view from the roof. Worth a visit and every penny! Thank you for the great service!

Great place to meet up with friends as it is centrally located. Nice music playing that's not too loud so you can still have conversations. It's💲pricey for drinks 🍷 , I would suggest beer as the cheapest option. There are plenty of bars within a ten minute walk where I am sure you can get better deals on drinks.

Can't say anything about the food, since I was there for a concert. It was a post hardcore show and the venu was not that cool about it tbh. They didn't let people stagedive even though the band was all for it, and I mean it is a hardcore gig so of course there will be some heavier moshing/stage diving and if they don't want it then they shouldn't have such bands. Beer was good though

We went there during the evening for some drinks. They had a happy hour till 7 PM! The cocktails were very well made and very reasonable. Ended up going there again the next day too! Right in the city center with a huge open space. Would definitely recommend!

The most enjoyable football viewing experience on the several big screens. Each person is charged 10,000 ft for entrance, but for this amount you are given a voucher for their entire menu and bar.

A brilliant and truly unique venue. I arrived after the boat party around Budapest, and the journey from the boat to the venue was smooth and easy. The atmosphere didn’t miss a beat – lively, memorable, and well worth the visit. Drinks were on the pricier side unless you caught a deal, but the setting more than made up for it. Food was also available. Not rated 5* due to cost of drinks.

The bartenders are incredibly arrogant. As an Erasmus student with an elb card I have a discount. They'll see your wristband themselves, and you have to explicitly say so, otherwise they'll charge the highest price. Every time I mention I should get a discount, they make a fuss and roll their eyes. I've been here several times and the bartenders have always given me the same service. The music is good and the place is nice, but the staff is terrible.

DONT GO!!! My friend got drugged and no staff members cared nor called ambulance. That night multiple others were completely nocked out. (We saw some laying in a corner or a girl being carried out by men) but we could not do anything about it. The women at the Garderobe even laught at me when I told her, the bar man just shrug his shoulders. The drink must have been spiked either by the bar man or by someone passing by because we watched the drinks carefully.

Beware of this scam! If you are in a group, be aware that they will force you to pay the same price for all members of the group: unlimited drinks (€30 even if you don't drink alcohol...). If you refuse, you will be denied entry, so split up before entering if your drinking preferences differ or if someone in your group doesn't drink alcohol. Cherry in the top you can only choose limited types of drinks even if you paid unlimited

Really nice place to gewallte party. The Karaoke room is amazing and it is really quick that they play your songs. The mics are premium as well. It was an amazing experience

Pontoon has an amazing location with both upstairs and downstairs outdoor seating—perfect for soaking in the Budapest vibes. It might feel a bit like a tourist trap at first glance, but honestly, it’s well worth a visit. I had a tequila soda with lime—simple but really well made. You do have to give a deposit for the cup, but that’s pretty standard in the area and didn’t bother me. Chilled atmosphere, good drinks, and a killer view. Great for a relaxed drink by the water!

The atmosphere is unique, especially with the live music from Fran Palermo, which was simply incredible. 🎶 The staff is very friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome right away. Prices are absolutely fine for Budapest, especially considering the amazing view and ambiance. A real highlight was the Chain Bridge, lit up in the Hungarian colors, absolutely breathtaking! 🇭🇺✨ A must-visit in Budapest, I can only highly recommend it!

Went during sunset by chance walking around. Amazing views from the top patio deck beside the Danube. There was live music playing. The artist was free styling her lyrics & the band was really great 👍.....set the vibe! The bartender spoke good English & was really nice. The price I found to be quite good & even refunds $500 forints if using their plastic cups. I'll definitely check them out again.

Pontoon is a local bar perfectly located on the Pest Side of the Chain Bridge in Budapest. Is your urban hideaway for all summer long and guarantees to show something new each day of the week, during the day and also night. Open from 12 to 12

Pontoon is one of those places you visit as much for the atmosphere as for the drinks. Located right next to the Chain Bridge, with a perfect view of the iconic lions and the Danube, it offers one of the most scenic hangouts in the city. Live concerts are a regular feature and bring a vibrant energy to the place, especially in the evenings. That said, it’s often packed, so finding a seat can be tricky. Drinks are average in both quality and price — standard for Budapest — but it’s really the location and vibe that make Pontoon worth a visit. Bonus: tourist buses often stop nearby, as there’s a parking lot close to the entrance — it’s not uncommon to see surprised visitors stepping off and wondering where they’ve just arrived.

Due to festivities and some issues before, having everything with fences right next to the river and around the place is a bit disappointing, but it’s understandable knowing the background for it as it was not their intention. Live music on the day was pretty good and the vibe was nice, everyone had a nice time and you could see how everyone enjoyed the time. Great spot to sit right next to the Chain Bridge! Phenomenal view of the castle and the Danube. But you're paying for the location – food and drinks are average, overpriced, and it's self-service.

Cool and intimate club with excellent visuals and clean sound. The basement room has a great atmosphere. It is all about the music here. If you prefer open spaces, it might feel a bit small, but the energy makes up for it ✨

Great little techno club with good sound and lights. When we went there it was straight forward techno with not much of bling bling around it... Some folks in there but no too crowded, so enough space to dance. Everyone respected others space, no gorillas around either. 5/5 recommend 🙂

Really nice techno club in a Budapest cellar. Very nice ambiente, really dark with good lightshow and great acts. Personal and bar was very nice. But please stop photographing in the club, i even dislike a filming crowd but when the organisers themselves start photographing everyone with big flash light it really kills the vibe

The Techno Club is hidden Downstairs. Good Music but the crowd have me mixed feelings. Some women got harassed by men and the security on the floor and outside didnt do something about it. The lightshow and music is incredible 👌🏼

Great techno club! We really enjoyed it last Saturday. To go to the techno part (which is down stairs), you should choose a different queue from entering the other part of the club 😊

We had heard great things and Mazel Tov did not disappoint 😋 No booking but we got there early and shown quickly to a table. Our kind of menu 😋 The mixed starters were great, especially the olives and smoked aubergines. Beer menu is impressive 🍻 Not a cocktail day for us, but a good list there too. Mains were tasty and filling. Recommended

Best food and service of our week in Budapest, our server was attentive and friendly and the building is absolutely beautiful. We’ve ordered the olives, the whipped feta, the chicken sous vide and the shawarma - all of which were generous portions and cooked beautifully. My only slight grumble was that our table was right next to the toilets so we had the constant flapping of the saloon doors, handrier noise and frequent views of the inside of the male toilet stalls - which I would have minded less if we had been squeezed in but we booked a good few days in advance. All in all though I would recommend anyone go to Mazel Tov, it was a real highlight of our trip.

The whole experience going to Mazel Tov was beyond amazing. The atmosphere is comforting and inviting to stay for a while! Everything is green, urban and the music is awesome. We were very lucky to have Mr. Bálint hosting us, he was communicative, smart and a very kind person! The food was delicious and we are very happy to come back! 10/10 points for the whole experience!

Everyone we spoke to suggested this restaurant, which we were lucky to walk into. There was a line for walk ins and I'd highly suggest that you get a reservation, especially if you're a bigger group. The food itself was very good, I would say that the fattoush salad was maybe too "modern" of a take. Yuzu vinaigrette instead of the traditional pomegranate molasses dressing. That being said it was still very good. If you're a Hollywood fan, I noticed they shot episode 7 of Terminal List: Dark Wolf in the courtyard of the restaurant. Look for timestamp 31:30 for the beginning of the scene.

Atmosphere, service and dinner menu was amazing. Dessert could have been improved with such high expectations following the main course. However, service (especially Szandra) and main course was amazing. Would definitely recommend and would come back here. I would recommend making a reservation as there was a queue out the door when we came on a Tuesday evening

Really cool modern place with a ruin bar vibe. Live music, amazing décor, and a great atmosphere. The food was pretty good too. We had falafel, hummus, shakshukas, and two beers for around €60. Worth a visit!

Extremely Disappointing Experience I went to Mazel Tov expecting a delightful Middle Eastern culinary experience, but what I got was a masterclass in style over substance. Let’s start with the portions. They are laughably small. You could easily finish a plate in two bites and still be hungry. For the prices they charge, I half expected the dishes to arrive on golden plates with diamond-studded cutlery, but alas, no such luck. Speaking of taste, the food is a pale shadow of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Spices are almost nonexistent, the flavors are bland, and everything feels strangely homogenized. Even their so-called “signature” pastrami, advertised as smoked and aged, tasted like it had been boiled and forgotten in the back of a fridge. There’s absolutely no depth of flavor. No smokiness, no seasoning, no passion. It’s a serious insult to anyone who appreciates proper Middle Eastern food. Now, to give credit where it’s due, the presentation is impressive. The food looks beautiful on the plate, Instagram-worthy without a doubt. Too bad that’s where the magic ends. It’s all eye candy. The actual experience is a letdown. You leave feeling like you’ve been part of some elaborate culinary scam, where the main ingredient is disappointment. Honestly, I am baffled by all the positive reviews Mazel Tov has accumulated. Either people are here for the photos, not the food, or there’s some collective amnesia about what authentic Middle Eastern cuisine actually tastes like. Overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing, Mazel Tov is a cautionary tale. Never judge a restaurant by its décor alone. The vibe is quite nice, but naaaa, it’s just not enough to save the experience. It’s so bad that I didn’t even want to leave the place before I made sure everyone knew just how terrible it is. Save your appetite and your money and go somewhere that actually knows how to cook.

A reservation is required, so it is better to make it instead of just showing up. My request was to sit outside and it was really nice eating and enjoying the beautiful views. The food was delicious, the waiter/waitress was nice and friendly. The only issue we had was that when asked to pay in cash (Euro), and then we overheard the waitress telling another customer that she didn't recommend paying cash in Euro because you will end up spending more than usual but she never mentioned it to us.Not recommend to pay in Euro. Overall very nice and beautiful. Recommend to visit it.

The food was pretty decent. But the portion sizes were astronomical for Budapest. Our waiter was top notch and attentive. The drinks were okay but were crazy expensive for what was provided. I think you are paying more for the name and location rather than the food and drinks provided. The price just does not match up. The brownie was good. Rich for sure.

A nice place to take in the views of Budapest! We made a reservation via Opentable for the afternoon and the tables were full but not overcrowded. We enjoyed some non-alcoholic beverages and a few appetizers while enjoying the bright sun and perfect location. The tartare was not something I would order again, but the hummus was outstanding.

We visited Leo from Florida on our very first day in Budapest, and it was the perfect introduction to this beautiful city. The view was absolutely stunning, the atmosphere was relaxed yet classy, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to our server Theo, for his kindness and outstanding service, he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We’d also like to give special thanks to the lovely curly black haired lady who hosted us and managed to fit us in even in rush hours without reservations. Their professionalism and warm hospitality really stood out and made our evening even more enjoyable. Budapest has completely captured our hearts, and this rooftop was the highlight of our first night. We’ll definitely be visiting again before we leave, highly recommended! :)

In general, a very nice rooftop bar/restaurant. The food was very nice however the portions were very small. We ordered the fillet mignon and the mini cheeseburgers. To be fair, you rarely find these prices for this type of food in other places but Budapest is in general relatively cheap. The cheesecake was extremely good and the cocktails are also very good. However, we had some problems with the table we were seated at, since we were in a far corner and couldn’t really see the view which ruined the mood a bit and makes it feel like it’s not really worth it. However at the end of our dinner we were moved to a better spot which sort of made up for that. So make sure to book in advance and ask for a good table since space is limited. In general, a very nice place for dinner and drinks but again, portions are a bit small.

If you are looking for a place with a nice view then this is your place. Nice ambience, music and comfortable seating. Nice service. If you are a claustrophobic person you might find the elevator a little bit challenging since it’s very small and with no air conditioning.

So the bar upstairs was nice with ok cocktails and good service but then I went downstairs where Diego and he’s helper made some creative and great cocktails and that’s way I’m willing to give 5 stars for this place my recommendation go straight down and try the experimental menus

The cocktails were nice. The prices were more high end. The staff were nice, but it did feel like the humor was more at our expense. The water was free and refilled with is a huge plus!

Friendly staff, cool ambience, really good drinks! We visited this bar twice on our 3 day stay. While the drinks weren’t overly showy or wildly creative, they were very good. We liked that they served local spirits and the popcorn was a cute touch!

My experience here was simply stellar. The bar has this cozy, speakeasy vibe, and the bartenders were truly impressive. Each cocktail felt like a crafted work of art. They use creative ingredients with theatrical presentation and unique glassware. Service was warm and attentive, and that little bag of salted popcorn was the perfect companion to our drinks. Definitely one of the best cocktail bars I've ever visited.

Absolutely amazing experience. Cozy bar with great music. Bartenders are very qualified and handsome. They came to us to talk about the drinks option if you don't want anything from menu they will craft you something based on your likes. That's how I got one of the best drinks in my life. From entering till the end we felt amazing. Hopefully in the future we will come back not as a students with tight budget so we can stay for more drinks. Totally amazing in Poland we have never found experience like this. Thank you for that!

Amazing place. The environment was so atmospheric and cozy, the music sent the best vibes, the service extremely friendly, the bartenders pure delight to the eyes and the drinks were beyond the promising performance of the bartenders. They served me a custom made drink that was far beyond my expectations. Amazing job!!

Brewery vibe, tried 2 different IPAs but nothing really beats exceptional. Bench-style seats not very comfortable if you planning an evening drinking. Staff were ok. Food was good.

Bit of a find although have been here in a previous life! It’s a beer gastropub as well as serving smoked meats. You sit in a covered yard and you have a couple of bars and food counters dotted around you. Can be a bit pricey for what it is but on the whole food is okay, you pay for mayonnaise, no sauces no mustard no ketchup. They did bring the food to the table and it was quite quick service but then again it wasn’t that busy. Can you imagine this being a really nice place when there’s a busy crowd here?

Great find. I wasn't sure what I signed up for walking through a more residential area and then you turn into the corridor and can't help but smile. It's perfect! They have 2 bars, we were shown our reserved table (highly recommend) and went up to order the beers. Nice guys, switched to English with ease. Food was from a different counter and delicious. We had a great evening at this brewery.

Always great variety of beers on tap, bottled alcohol free beer available too. Food options are not many but the food is delicious and served quickly. It gets a bit hot inside in winter and it is good to book table if you come Friday-Saturday evenings.

Excellent spot that separates the bars to reduce waiting time. The craft beer bar has a varied selection with voodoo being my particular favourite. The spirits bar opposite mixed up a superb G&T. The place was packed with people imbibing and laughing. I like the minimalist style too.

Lovely cocktail bar with tasty and original drinks — each one felt thoughtfully crafted. The bartenders were kind, attentive, and very professional. They even made a custom drink for my friend that wasn’t on the menu. The atmosphere was great and lively, definitely a spot worth visiting. It can get quite crowded though, so be prepared for a bit of a queue.

What a stunning little bar, slightly hidden, but definitely worth finding. All the staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. Table service was impecable and the cocktails were divine. Such amazing creativity and the theme of famous building blueprints was cool. Wardour and W 54th was my favourite, but they all were really great drinks.

Our server was very sweet, he kept refilling our water and very attentive to our request! They serve the best cocktails in town with intimate ambience. They also had such a creative menu book which is such a treat if you’re an architecture geek. All and all, loved everything about this bar!!

The place is super nice and the atmosphere super cool, the hot water in the natural terms is super pleasant. Security, on the other hand, was abysmal and unfriendly. Once the sparty was over we were changing and security came to the entrance of the cabins to hurry us up, while just afterwards there was a huge queue to get out of the sparty just long enough to get the badge and bracelet for the cabins. The price of drinks is also appallingly expensive: 17€ for a coktail, 9€ for a beer and 4€ for a shooter. On top of that, none of the coktails were well-served with alcohol, and at 80€ for the price of admission, I expect a little more quality of service than what I've seen.

It’s decadent, chaotic, and completely unforgettable. Critique: Drinks are expensive (pre-drink), lockers get packed fast, and it’s sensory overload if you expect a chill soak. But if you go in ready to surrender to the madness, it’s the essential Budapest experience. Pro tip: Arrive by 9:30 PM, stash valuables early, grab a beer or two, and head straight for the main pool when the lights drop - that’s when it transforms from spa to spectacle. Verdict: 11/10 - history meets hedonism. You don’t just party here; you witness a centuries-old bathhouse reinvent itself as the world’s most surreal dance floor.

Beautifull setting. Very nice party. Good ambiance. Just at the end of the party they chase you away as if you were cattle. In particular one employee (female) was very rude for no apparent reason.

We had a bad start by not preparing well and had to pin a lot of cash (with huge bank fees) before entering. Dressing rooms and lockers were ok. Only one bath of the whole spa is used for this event witch is a shame. The water is nice and warm but you will freeze if you get out to get a drink. 8 euros for a beer is ridiculous. Nevertheless, the party was good. Show, music and lights were cool and we enjoyed ourselves! But not worth 120euro per person for a night out..

Good performance overall! The security guards did an excellent job—very strict, but in a way that made sure everyone stayed safe and avoided injuries. The DJ was good, though there’s still some room for improvement with the music selection. Adding more commercial tracks would make the experience even better. For tickets, it’s best to go with the basic entrance fee and buy drinks separately. The premium ticket includes 3 coupons, which you can use for beer or a limited list of cocktails, but not for long drinks like gin & tonic, rum & coke, or whisky. Since those cost around €17 each, it’s usually better value to just pay separately if u don't like sweet cocktails. You need cash!

Interesting experience! I saw this all over social media so I was initially sceptical but I would recommend coming here as I don’t think it’s really a tourist trap. The interior concept with the paper notes is very cool and I was not expecting the huge plate of peanuts that every table gets! You throw the peels on the hay cover floor 😂 the food wasn’t mind blowing but it was good. I came for the goulash (which I would recommend!) but also tried the Gipsy pork plate. The staff were friendly.

Our waiter Andy was one of THE BEST waiters we have EVER met! I don’t eat gluten so he was extremely understanding and helpful with that. His recommendations were excellent for food and drink and we also had some of the best plum Pálinka we have ever tried! The music was fab, the vibes were amazing, the décor was SO unique and FUN! It was a great night out that we are always going to talk about!

We came to this pub because we saw good reviews on TikTok. The drinks were amazing and true to their culture. The bartender and wait staff were lovely especially, the bartender Christian. He was very conversational, kind and recommended some lovely drinks to us. For Sale Pub is an absolute must-see in Budapest, primarily for its incredible atmosphere! This pub is famous for the thousands of handwritten notes and papers covering every inch of the walls and ceiling, making it a unique tourist attraction. While the food is perhaps the weakest point, the overall ambiance completely saves the experience. The energy is special, and the waiters were extremely friendly, ensuring our visit was comfortable and welcoming. The massive portions of peanuts and the cozy, chaotic decor make this place an unforgettable spot you simply have to visit while in the city.

We came to this pub due to all the positive reviews and people suggesting it online. We tryed to come also the night before but the line was too long so we came back the day after and we sat upstairs to eat and drink. The place is so special and unique, the walls are covered in notes left by people and the atmosphere is so nice. We got draft beer and a mixture of starters to share. Everytbing was so good and the waiters were extremely friendly! This pub 100% deserves its hype and i think everyone who is in Budapest should come here at least once!

When you see the cue outside of a place… that’s the place where to it! We just saw a long cue(30 minutes) and we diceded to give this place a try… and we were right! Food is amazing, inside is amazing and service is fast and kind! AAA - free peanuts for all! Highly recommended! 😉

At SkyBar we were amazed by the “Twisted Classics” – classic cocktails with a creative twist by the bartenders. 🍸 Out of all the ones we tried, the Hungary Pornstar Martini was by far the best. 😍 We also enjoyed a delicious chocolate-orange dessert. The bar has an elegant and very pleasant atmosphere, the service is top-notch, and everything is perfectly organized. Highly recommended!🏅

Fantastic place for cocktails and a view. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the dirty fries with black truffle and parmesan. They were delicious. Making a reservation is a must. Possibly a bit touristy but sure when you are on holiday do something nice.

Nice view and lighting. However, this place for almost empty. It might be good if you want peace and go with your partner. The big drawback are prices which are huge. This skybar is heavily overpriced so keep that in mind. Staff was polite.

What a fantastic experience! Great location, amazing views of Budapest, the venue is chic and trendy, the food is fresh and tasty, but you will come back for the cocktails!! The drinks are worth the visit, with a special mention for our mixologist Laszlo! He is very friendly and super knowledgeable about cocktails (he customized one for me), but also the wines from St. Andrea winery. We will go back and hopefully Laszlo will be on duty that day!

The view is definitely nice, but the windows were not clean, and there were spiders and webs everywhere, which was quite unpleasant. The place clearly needs better cleaning. However, I recommend making a reservation, as it seems to be a popular spot.

Visited this Skybar once and honestly, it was just a one-time experience. I ordered a mojito, it was small, packed with ice, and tasted more like a watered-down spritz than an actual cocktail. And The service was okay but nothing special.

We have booked a wine tasting and left fully satisfied. The atmosphere was great, the wine was fantastic and our Sommelier Bence has an extensive knowledge of wine and wine regions as well. In addition, his knowledge about whisky is also impressive. Very service minded, great view, amazing wine & cocktail & whisky selection.

Long day of sightseeing in Budapest and on way back to hotel decided to have a pit stop for a quick drink. Was mid afternoon and relatively quiet. Positive was really near Chain Bridge and air conditioning was wonderful, eventhough was was relatively open onto the street. Good choice of drinks and prices what you would expect near centre of Budapest and near attractions. Didn't rate food as its a bar/pub. Music was great! Found myself moving along to to the beats, to the dismay of my wife :)

We got recommendation to go there. It’s typical bar focused on tourists, but that was ok. Our experience was good until until a waiter came and asked how we would like to pay just out of the blue. He wasn’t able to properly answer my question why. Because we didn’t order enough of drinks? Because we weren’t girls in their twenties? I just don’t know, but this is beyond any “unwritten rules” of a good customer service. Just don’t go there. There are ton of places in Budapest that actually value their customers. This isn’t worth it.

Local extremely unfriendly and racist place with a funny mix of world music old hits and Hungarian pop. Expensive for what it offers. I was obliged for the aggressive security guard of the place, to leave, after I moved my table and all our cocktails accidentally fell to the floor. This is a NONO place to go for Americans

They forget to pour alcohol to cocktails 😁 we ordered pina colada and it was WITHOUT rum, just juice and ice. I asked the girl who mixed if it was alcoholic cocktail and she said “yes” ahhaha

Budapest Park is a fantastic venue—I mostly go there for concerts. The sound system and lighting are top-notch, and service is fast. It’s worth arriving early, though: the mixing booth island partially blocks the view of the stage. If you end up behind it, you’ll have to watch the performance on the screens. For the trip back to Boráros tér, I recommend taking the buses—they’re usually almost empty, while tram 2 is always packed and runs less frequently.

The venue offers outdoor shows and concerts with a party of a wide variety of choices after the shows. Easy access by public transport, the sound is good and the entrance is secure (it is advisable to arrive with an ID). However, in all the cases where I was there, the place was very busy and it seemed that too many people were allowed in, there is no way you can dance or stand and people will simply bump into you just to move on. The bar is relatively expensive (beer costs 1890 forints + 500 for a reusable glass). Recommended but needs improvement

Budapest Park is absolutely crazy — more like a full-on festival than a concert venue 🎶🔥. Huge outdoor space, epic lights, food trucks, bars, and non-stop party vibes. The staff are great, the crowd is wild, and every show feels like an unforgettable night out. Drinks aren’t cheap, but the energy makes it 100% worth it. A must-visit if you want to experience Budapest nightlife at its biggest and boldest!

First time there and I had a really good time. There was enough bathrooms to prevent long queues and quite neat. I loved the atmosphere and the fact that I could enjoy myself and be free.

Never knew the place had restaurants and plenty of bars otherwise we'd have turned up early for the gig we went to! What a place. Don't make the same mistake I did though, and go to the Budapest city park, thinking it's Budapest park 🤦🏼‍♂️

Unique place worth visiting! Aurora was great (as always). VIP entries are not worth buying, because the view and capacity on balconies is worse than on the ground.

The first place I visited during my stay in Budapest served a very delicious meal (I don’t remember the name—if you know it, let me know!). Unfortunately, I lost my earmuffs there, and when I went back they were gone, which made my first experience a bit sad. Regardless of that incident, I kept going back and even celebrated my birthday there. I love the atmosphere and the variety of activities you can enjoy while you’re there.

Yesterday I went to this bar to “have a good time,” but thanks to the staff, my experience was terrible. We tried to play the games they have there, but they wouldn’t accept a “torn” bill to buy the tokens for the machines. The bill wasn’t even broke. When we finally got some tokens, the machines didn’t even work… I went to tell them, and the girl said, “There was a sign saying it didn’t work.” I told her there wasn’t, and she replied, “Well, I didn’t take it down,” and refused to help me at all. I spoke to the other bartenders, and they had already passed the word around not to do anything about it. I’m sure another staff member would have been more human and actually helped. But this girl wasn’t helpful at all. The place was empty, the drinks were awful, and nothing worked. I don’t recommend it — there are plenty of nearby bars with much better service.

Great place! Dancefloors are usually mostly empty, but the atmosphere is great, you can really meet other people, and the drinks are good.

A night that should’ve been special — but turned into a lesson in humiliation. I don’t usually write reviews, but what happened last Saturday at Füge Udvar deserves to be told — mostly so no one else goes through the same thing. It was my birthday. My partner had booked a table for around 20 people by email. When we arrived, we showed the confirmation to two staff members sitting by the bar. They told us to “go to the back and ask again.” After a confusing few minutes, another bartender finally said our tables were “the two in the middle, at the back.” Both were already taken — one by a big group of men. The bartender casually told us we could just ask them to leave. How ironic. We politely asked him to go there himself and explain that the tables were reserved. After a long wait, the groups eventually moved — and my friends began to arrive. Later, I ordered my third gin and tonic from a kind waitress. Except… it wasn’t gin and tonic. It didn’t taste remotely like one. I went back to the bar, apologized, and kindly explained something was wrong. She handed my drink to a visibly irritated man at the register. He stirred it with a straw, took a sip, and said, “Yes, it’s gin and tonic.” I even apologized again, thinking maybe I hadn’t mixed it properly. But I tasted it once more — still nothing like gin and tonic. I asked a friend to try it, and she agreed: it was undrinkable. When I returned again to the bar, the same man told me he hated gin but was sure it was there. Then he violently snatched the glass from my hand, raised the gin bottle above his head, and poured it straight into my drink — in front of the entire queue — before shoving it back at me. My friends were shocked. Knowing I struggle with depression and social anxiety since moving to Hungary, they tried to calm me down — because, honestly, that moment almost ruined my birthday. Later, another friend tasted the drink and realized they had used sparkling water instead of tonic. That’s why it tasted so wrong. I went back, gently explained the mix-up, and asked him to remake it properly. He made another drink, angrily throwing things around, and handed it to me again with zero respect. I told him to next time don't humiliate the client for their mistake. When leaving, I saw a fight breaking out between men in front of the club involving secitiries. It summed up the whole atmosphere. If you’re looking for a friendly, safe, or celebratory place in Budapest — do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Actually, if you ever consider moving to Hungary… maybe think twice. You'll be treated bad mostly everywhere.

The location is really great and this is where I had the most fun among the ruin pubs I visited in Budapest. You can play billiards, table tennis and more games and it's not too crowded during the weekend (unlike other clubs/pubs) in the city.

Really fun place to go to play air hockey, pool, table tennis, but not much choice in snacks, no hot drinks and a small collection of standard soft drinks only, the tables were all available as it was a weekday, it is much more busy from Thursday to Sunday, but on weekdays no reservation needed. The staff is helpful.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Security denies a bunch of people entry on the basis on nonexistent rules that aren’t specified anywhere. Bunch of other reviews say this as well. Once we got to the entrance they said my friend couldn’t enter because she had sandals on. Mind you, we looked into the club and saw multiple girls with flip flops. We offered to go home to have her shoes changed so we could come back but they said they wouldn’t let us in even if she changed her shoes. I asked, “on the basis of what” and then they said I could not come in either (I had a ticket already and I was appropriately dressed). They were so rude and my friend began to cry. Manager was no help either. Other places I recommend to go to instead of this nightmare: Heaven, Otkert, the Blue Bird Karaoke Club (my favorite). Cant stress this enough: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. and we never got our money back :(

Next thing i know they are letting other girls in with worse quality sandals in. They didn’t even let me go change into sneakers. Don’t come here there are way nicer clubs all around the city.

I was very excited to attend this club as part of my few day stopover in Budapest. Unfortunately- this venue the service was distasteful and offensive. My group and I were waiting in line for over 30 minutes to see the bouncer allow over 20 people in front of us bypass the line. My friend inquired as to the reason and they would not give us a straight answer. They enforced facial recognition at the door and turn people of colour away. When asked for a reason no reason is provided and no manager ever came out to address the issue. The message was clear people of colour are not welcomed. Truly disappointed in this establishment and wish I didn’t waste my night in Budapest with them after visiting the country for the first time in 18 years.

I want in at the staff entrance by accident and wanted to use the bathroom . Instead of directing me to the right entrance and offering a seat, one of the members of staff literally kicked me out. Nobody thinks maybe a woman is pregnant and needs the bathroom. No courtesy, no helpfulness, typical Hungarian attitude. Shocking. I'll take my money elsewhere

Absolutely hated the music, we were promised phunk and house but instead it was the same beat shuffled a bit differently for at least 2 hours, the only good music we heard was the hungarain national anthem they played at midnight into the new year. The people are tourists/creeps that circle around like vultures trying to catch someone's eye, and you wont see any alt ppl that you were expecting off of pictures.

The service is excellent here the drinks are good the music is perfect i would suggest it for everyone

The Hungarian State Opera House is located on the famous Andrássy Avenue in the center of Budapest. Its building is massive and magnificent, in neo-Renaissance style. From the information I obtained from the internet, it was built in 1884 and has the status of a World Heritage Site. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to visit it inside, I hope I have the chance to do it next time.

This one may be smaller than the Vienna State opera House, but it may be more beautiful. Just amazing architecture and breathtaking beauty every direction you look. Take the tour, it is with the money.

Amazing place. Magnificent both inside and outside. Really liked sound here. Enjoyed the best opera in my life. Unfortunately that was terribly hot on the top balconies, but that’s what you have to face while visiting such a historic place. I wish the prices in the bar where lower, but nobody forbids you bringing your own water.

We visited Symphony no. 8 and it was great, so many talented people in one show!!! The Opera itself also worth visiting, looks gorgeous and so royal, not like Vienna’s Opera. This one looks very well maintained and renovated, every sitting place is equipped with subtitles monitor. We had a great evening as family at this place.

One hour tour. First 30 minutes sitting inside the Opera house listening to its history and architecture. Almost fall into sleep. The rest touring the house is good and end with a short wonderful opera performance.

Gorgeous & a must-visit for tourists. Check for timing on English tours & buy tickets in advance. Our tour was fantastically informative & the photo-ops were breathtaking. Best of all - our tour concluded with a LIVE OPERA PERFORMANCE on the grand staircase by a duo of artists from the opera company!!! FANTASTIC!!!

Don’t let the exterior of this building fool you, it may look like just “another historical landmark “ , because the moment you step inside you will be wow-ed by the ornate decor, the opulent designs and most importantly the high profile notes and echos through the hallway

What a lovely wine bar with a vast selection of wines. I can highly recommend this one (photo) if you like a dry crisp white wine. The bar tender is extremely knowledgeable and you can have small tastes of any of the wines on offer. Very chilled out vibe. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

I’ve visited Doblo Wine Bar twice and both times had a great experience. Although I haven’t tried the food yet, I can highly recommend the wine selection – it’s extensive, thoughtfully curated, and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and they helped me choose the right wine based on my preferences. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a charming, slightly rustic interior that adds to the overall vibe. On both visits, there was live music, which created a relaxed and enjoyable ambiance without being too loud or intrusive. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just looking for a cozy place to unwind in the evening, Doblo is definitely worth a visit. I’ll gladly return!

Fab little wine bar - just what we were looking for - arrived when there was live music just starting so we settled in with a really good bottle of red - very tempted to order a second!

Wonderful waiter who gave us personalised recommendations on what wine to order. There is quite a vast selection of wine so I'm sure there is something for everyone. Unfortunately the prices are quite high and we ended up paying €50 for 4 glasses of wine + their service charge which was automatically included. At this price-point I would think they could let the customer decide what tip is appropriate but alas.

We ordered a bottle of wine from the menu (2021), but the staff brought us a 2024 bottle instead. When we politely pointed out the mistake, instead of acknowledging it or offering to correct it, they sent three different waiters to insist that “it’s the same, just more fresh.” Anyone who actually cares about wine knows that vintage matters ; that’s the whole point of having the year listed on the menu. The cheese platter was mediocre and didn’t complement the wine at all, especially given the price. To make matters worse, a couple of my friends ended up with food poisoning afterwards. Overall, this place is overpriced, pretentious, and lacking in basic customer respect. There are plenty of other bars with better wine, better service, and more honesty — I’d strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Server brought out wine we didn’t order that was twice the price we ordered. Had no idea until we got the cheque at the end of the meal. Gratuity was included in the bill, but was also asked for on the card machine. The place was very nice otherwise.

Definitely my favourite bar in Budapest. The vibes were immaculate. Me and my partner went bar hopping and ended up here by chance. Best place ever. The playlist is incredible and very fitting for the vibe and the cocktails are the best I ever had that night. Will go back if I ever had the chance. Also, how cute are these menus? 😍

Second time in Budapest, second time in amazing Jardin bar. We were welcomed with a huge smile from Yabi, the most delicious welcome drinks (pictures will be uploaded) and drank three cocktails, each better than the previous one. Must see bar!!!! 1) we waited for 10-15 minutes for a table. The waitress brought us complementary shots while waiting. 2) the waitress serving us was super nice and friendly. She also helped by recommending drinks. 3) we were there for 2 hours minimum. Every single song is a banger for 2 hours straight. 4) i chose the tropic from france which was one of the best cocktails i ever had. 5) i ordered the cookie monster cocktail which I didn’t like. When the waitress found out, she immediately gave me a complimentary cocktail of my choice. 6) the menu is super creative and very informative for you to make your selection.

Vibinggggg! 💗 I love that!!!! All IPA are quite too sweet. But Flower one is quite hoppie. Nelson is okay if you like IPA. Sweet as well. Not recommend for cherry if you like the hop hop beer. It’s weird. But if you like cherry it’s very fine and good. Thank you for all services. The crew were so nice and apologised for making the chair drop behind the staff today. I hope he not hurt.

Delicious Goulash and Amazing Dessert! I was really impressed with the food here! For dessert, I tried Golden dumplings with vanilla and sour cherry beer custard and it was beautifully presented. I also have a few drinks like: Strongbow, Aperol Spritz The staff were friendly and attentive, and on top of that, the music was really pleasant and created such a good atmosphere.🎶

This place is completely amazing. We didn’t know if we should try it, as it’s kind of American themed and we love taking in the local culture when traveling. But their twist on burgers is unreal. Amazing food, beer and cocktails. The staff was everything! So kind, helpful and they play good music. We stayed for hours, even skipping some cultural sights, as the place was just so cool. Our server was Attila and we loved him. He was super knowledgeable and came with great recommendations. We’re from Los Angeles and let me just say they do burgers better than most American restaurants and if you’re into craft beer this is the spot. Do not hesitate. So many thanks to this staff. Funky bar with a good selection of craft beer and good burgers. Location is just off a street but still close to the vibrant area. I opted for their own Voodoo and Hippie, both0.4l which was a good size for me personally.

I was just passing by this amazing brewery and I stepped in! The ambience is amazing, the choice of draft beer is huge and the quality is superb! They also will let you stick your own banknote or their wall behind the bar! The bartender lady was kind and helpful! For sure a place to be back again 😉

Great wine bar situated next to the Basilica. Staff could comfortably recommend Hungarian Wines in English depending on what regular grape you would normally enjoy. Didnt notice any food which would have been nice. Actually came here 9 years ago so nice to see it still active.

Nice wine bar near St Istvan's Cthedral Adam - nice guy! We tried 5 different types of wine! Snack cream from avocado and snack from gorgonzola were great!

Mon 24 July 2023. Visiting Budapest for 8 nights and staying in Jokai Ter. Nice little social pub with friendly patrons and a relaxed atmosphere. Nice sitting outside at night. The owners are friendly and laid back and bring along their two adorable dogs. Unfortunately the bar staff were aloof and unwelcoming. One in particular thought very highly of himself. The bottled beer was also not cold. Stars for atmosphere and happy dogs! ☺️

This was a great find. I only wish I would of find this little heaven of a spot earlier during my trip. I would of turn into a regular here. The food was beyond my expectations. I thought it will be just your normal cafe food, nothing special. Boy, was I wrong. It was tasty and price nicely. I had the chicken breast, see the picture. The chicken was so juicy. It lays in a bed of nicely cooked fries. The fries was just how I like it. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect. The salad on the side made it amazing. It was lightly dress, so good. There is also two nicely cooked cheese patties. The best!

Short tempered staff and poor service - DO NOT RECOMMEND We arrived at 5pm in perfect to source some local Hungarian wine. Despite there only being five people in the entire venue the staff told us we had one hour to drink and then leave because they were “fully booked”. Our bottle of wine (good selection available but not guidance provided) was delivered to us and then we were promptly ignored. The staff placed other walk-ins at the unreserved bar area (no time restriction). In the end, we were handed the bill and FORCED to pay a 15% service charge for the privilege of being there.

Ok Bernadette is the star of the bar. A wine suggestion just made me to be more haooy and more interested to the the wines athag are rare and unique. Couldn’t be more happy for the suggestion that she made. I can’t wait for be back. Keep on going girl 🔥🔥🔥

I went there with my girlfriend to try some Hungarian wines. The price had increased recently but the price/quality ratio and the food were still quite good compared to other local places in Budapest. We decided to come back again the next day and it was even better. One of the server (probably the owner), was very knowledgeable, generous and eager to make us try and discover local wines. He adapted his recommendations too our tastes and envies, along the dinner. We will miss this place and its passionate server!

I've been visiting Kadarka with both local and foreign friends and always had a vedy positive experience. The staff is really friendly and ready to provode advice on the extensive wine list should someone have only a basic knowledge of wines or only a faint idea of what to taste. The atmoshpere fits that of a wine bar: a bit exquisite but not extravagant, somewhat more than a bar, but you will not feel uneasy. We also tasted their cuisine a couple of times and found it really tasty - optionally coupled with fine Hungarian wines. I warmly recommend both for a quick tasting or a night-long immersion into something Hungarian.

This is by far my favorite wine bar in Budapest. They serve top quality Hungarian wines from small producers, the stuff you’ll never find in supermarkets. They have on the magnitude of a hundred different wines available by the glass and they have super knowledgeable staff to help you pick. Much of their wait staff has been there for years. Their food selection is basic but it’s enough and you’re there for the wine, anyway.

Fröccsterasz in the city center has a great vibe and lively atmosphere, making it a popular spot for tourists. However, the food is overpriced with small portions. Additionally, there's a fee to use the restroom, even for customers.They allow you to use the restroom fee as credit for another drink, but this forces you to buy more than you might want. While the setting is enjoyable, these policies may affect your overall experience.

One of the worst burgers I’ve ever had! My burger was burnt, but I had already waited 20 minutes. I was tipsy and very hungry

The bartender charged 1500 forints more for drinks. After asking why, she said that 1000 is a refundable deposit for a plastic cups. But she couldn't explain the extra 500 forints. When buying another thing, the price was already normal. Even though we were clients we have to pay 500 forints per person for the toilet, thats crazy. Be careful I think it is a tourist trap. Apart from that the cocktails were tasty…

For some reason I got charged 5,150 forint for a 700 forint glass of wine and 2950 forint pint of beer. Ridiculously expensive for drinks in plastic cups, that is served by someone that doesn’t even speak to you, in a place that stinks of cigarettes. I hope no one else gets scammed.

We ordered some beers, we wanted to return the cups. They told us they gave us "coins" to return the cups when they didnt so we just lost money. When you order beer add 500 to the price

Actually I am living here - but all the restaurants here are friendly, with great service. Food is from average to good. The square itself ... I am looking forward to what it will look like after the reconstruction (though i am not sure why it was needed... Interested to see.)

I was there on Monday early evening — it was calm and not too crowded. The interior is truly impressive, and the bartenders were relaxed and friendly. I had a cider and spent some quiet time in the corner of one room. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely come back again.

Unfortunately, we were there during the day and not in the evening, because it's apparently an incredibly cool party location in the evening. We'll make up for that next time. During the day, it's a market where you can buy many typically Hungarian things, including fresh fruit and vegetables, and there are local artisans selling their wares, which is very interesting because it apparently isn't too overrun with tourists yet. We treated ourselves to a beer at a small bar, which was freshly tapped and very tasty. Definitely an unusual place! And something different for a change. See photos

Well, the place is not for my age anymore, but I was walking in the city and stopping by for a coffee, and cappuccino was great, full of younger people and I believe a good vibe for the locals at night.

Very friendly and warm service! Everyone treats you like family! A good place to enjoy a wide variety of local musicians, djs, and other various artists any day of the week! Pretty much all local musical artists perform here so its a good place to get a taste of Budapest’s talented underground music community any day of the week for the price of a drink!

The atmosphere is cool, a bunch of diverse cool people chitchatting…. Also a great gin tonic m, yet average rose wine. The girl at the bar knew our order again only after the 1st one, even though it was crowded… Worth of visiting… :)

I got a recommendation this place for working because they have WiFi and outlets and I saw some people working but it's kinda loud and it smells bad somehow and it doesn't look pretty clean. The bagel was good. The chai latte was not good and not hot.

Cannot rate food since I didn't have any, but I went there for a couple of beers while I was working on my laptop and I felt a good atmosphere! I will be back!

This area is beautiful, it's definitely a fully days event may even be 2 days depending on everything available to see. If you plan on going into the castle then plan 2 days, there is so much to see and enjoy, lots of great restaurants and cafés all over, so many historical buildings, statues and sites. My suggestion is to use the castle area bus to get around and do a round trip to plan what you want to see, then get off at the stops you are interested in. This is a must see in Budapest so please don't miss it.

We arrived late in the evening at the end of our day. There were surprisingly many tourists around. It was beautiful, well-kept, and I felt genuinely proud that so many foreign visitors get to admire these stunning buildings of ours.

The Buda Castle complex is definitely worth a visit. The castle stands out with its impressive exterior, and nearby Matthias Church catches the eye with its colorful roof and Gothic style. Fisherman’s Bastion is one of the highlights: you can climb it for a small fee, and the view of the city is amazing, with the Danube and Chain Bridge in front. The Schulek Staircase completes the walk, with its statues and historic details. Going up there really lets you see the city from above.

The Castle District is an absolute must-see when visiting Budapest! ​The entire area is historic, charming, and offers a truly wonderful atmosphere. While there are certainly a lot of people, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't feel as overcrowded or intensely busy as some other major European tourist spots (like Prague, for example). The space handles the crowds well. ​The main highlight is, without a doubt, the incredible view over the city. The panorama of Pest, the Parliament building, and the Danube is breathtaking and provides fantastic photo opportunities, especially from the Fisherman's Bastion. ​Highly recommended for its beauty, history, and the unmatched sightlines of Budapest!

A beautiful are that is one of the 'must visit while in Budapest' locations. So much to see and do and such a lovely area to relax and wander.

Coming here means climbing a few stairs and walking uphill, but it is definitely worth it. The view is amazing and the architecture of the buildings is truly mesmerizing. There are plenty of places to grab a drink, eat, and enjoy some dessert. It is definitely worth the visit.

Great area to visit. Lots to see and do. Make sure you take in the views during the day and night time with the city lights in the evening. Hospital in rocks well worth a visit.

Good music and place but no vibe, kills the energy, I attach a quick video to show you, on a Saturday night. Avoid if you like dancing and enjoying the moment. We left the club at 00.50.

drinks were good, but the atmosphere was meh :/ music was awesome though!!! (+ you can get a free drink voucher for a review). the only downside imo were men who tried to ruin your fun time with girls… i recommend taking one of your guy friends along to be safe from that bs lol. (but i guess that happens at every club)… overall nice, but very crowded at 12 already ☠️

We were hoping to have a fun night out with good music and lots of dancing but were quite disappointed. We went on a Saturday around midnight and had purchased tickets for 3200 HUF which isn’t bad but we expected more. In my opinion, they played the most mainstream music and played each song for way too long that it got boring after 2-3 refrains. Also just one dance floor ☹️ We left a little before 2am

Tried to get in around 3:30am but I was told no entry allowed anymore. I am from Berlin so it was little bit weird for me, but maybe that’s how clubs work here in Budapest. I recommend to arrive earlier.

It was super hot and super crowded. I thought there would be AC or at least ventilation, but I didn't see anything. It was boiling hot. Couldn't even dance. The music and beverages were cool, but the hotness was the biggest minus.

The club is cool, but small. Unfortunately, when we were leaving peacefully with the boys, they sprayed pepper spray in our eyes and mouths and when we asked why they did it, they laughed in our faces. Gorillas are big but their brains are the size of a walnut.

had multiple men grope me and inappropriately touch me while security just watched. have never felt more uncomfortable in a club. do not go here if you are a small woman or you will be taken advantage of.

Fantastic venue catering more tasteful popular cultural events (mostly music concerts, but dance events too sometimes). Their folk dance ball every other Thursday is a hit. Sadly enough, open only April- Oct.

The place to go in the summer season! Especially if you are into folk music.

You visit this place for the incredible atmosphere and authentic live music. There’s a different theme every night. However if you are looking for quality food and a nice quiet evening then this isn’t the place for you.

🌟 Kobuci – Great vibes, but keep your cup game strong! 🌟 Kobuci is one of those places that makes you feel like you just stumbled into a secret garden party — cozy lights, chill atmosphere, and music that makes your drink taste better. 10/10 for vibes and friendliness! BUT… let’s talk about The Cup Situation. 🥲 You buy a drink, and with it, you buy a 300 HUF relationship with a plastic cup. Not just any cup — this is a cup that demands loyalty. You return it, but instead of money, you get a token. A mysterious little coin that now holds the value of your trust. If you’re a regular, you probably have 7 of these tokens in every coat pocket. If you’re like me — a casual visitor — well… the odds of remembering that token next time? Somewhere between “slim” and “lol no.” Lose it? Forget it at home? Drop it in your bag of shame? That’s another 300 HUF. At this rate, I might just start collecting them and build a necklace. Would I go back? Definitely. Would I remember my token? Absolutely not. 🙃

Great place, great prices and the best vibes. Usually onky true fans visit the concert so you can expect the best vibes in all of budapest.

We went in on a Saturday night, it was quiet and we bought a lot of drinks, local customers were racist straight away, they seemed to know the staff well. One of the staff that were playing music made racist comments to one of our group in the toilets. Another customer made racist comments to us at the bar and were behaving aggressive towards us and told us “We are not welcome here and we need to leave” and swearing about the different countries they thought we were from and trying to barge us, in front of the bar staff. Despite this we stayed and finished our drinks. I would never recommend anyone go here not worth the rudeness and aggressive behaviour.

It's called Kazimir now. It's one of the best pubs in the VII district with the real Budapest vibe and atmosphere. Ask for Pinky...

ELLÁTÓház is a great bar. The decoration is urban added with lot of plants and flowers hanging. Prices are not too expensive but be careful, to date, cash only is accepted (a bit silly considering how paypass is practical in a bar). At ELLÁTÓház concerts are regularly planned for an entrance fee under 10€. Lot of time it is gonna be some cover band (Beatles, radiohead , queen...) which makes up to a great crowd of enthusiastic customers. The age is generally above the average in this part of the city during the concert mainly due to the style of music played. Also during concert the crowd is mostly locals. When concert is over it goes back to a more classical bar with music and the young party crowd.

A great place for all folks with basically any taste in music. There are great events happening every night you can surely find your jam here. There is a nice mix of tourists and locals you can find plenty of interesting people at the club. Prices are reasonable even though the place is in the centre. This place will make you want to return time and time again.
