The facilities were good, the environment is good also, the people dancing were.... meh but the music wasn't that good, lots of confetti and smokes but the music wasn't of my taste, even some of the songs were more boring than other thing. Another bad point are the prices, which are over the moon, the cheapest thing is a soda for 5€ my God.

Great vibes and energy at Escape! The music was on point, and the crowd was lively without being overwhelming. The location at Rembrandtplein is perfect, and the club has a cool layout with good lighting and sound. Drinks were a bit pricey, but that's normal for Amsterdam clubs. Overall, it was a fun night out — definitely worth checking out!

Dear Escape Club Management, I’m writing as a tourist who recently tried to visit your club. Unfortunately, my group was denied entry twice without any clear explanation. We were polite, dressed appropriately, and simply wanted to enjoy a night out in Amsterdam. The staff at the door were unhelpful and dismissive, which left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. We chose Escape because of its great reputation, but this experience did not reflect that standard. I hope you take this feedback seriously and ensure all guests—especially visitors from abroad—are treated with fairness and respect.

Incredible experience. One of the most beautiful nighclubs that I have been: excelent music and DJs and nice people. I went alone as a tourist and I had so much fun. I have bought ticket online, as I usually do and always recommend to do that.

The ambiance and music were very appreciable, allowing us to relax and enjoy the vibe. Unfortunately, we didn’t try the food.

I had a great time at the club. Dj was awesome. However I need to lower my rate because I did not like the fact that you charge additonally for using the toilet. I've never seen anything like that. Come on guys: you charge 20 euros for entrace so at least you can do is to let your guests use the bathroom. It just greed.

Paradiso is always a good visit. Whether it’s for a concert or a party, its always well organized and safe for everyone. I’m a big fan of concerts here especially for the seating areas on the first and second floor— they’re a good alternative if you don’t want to stand the whole concert. The bathrooms are mostly always clean and they have short queues. Whilst the bar area might not be the cheapest it is also not highly expensive in comparison to other venues. I would recommend going here for any event.

Visited the concert of Public Service Broadcasting.. Blown away, the cosiness, the sound. The place is iconic. The right place for this band. One of the best concerts I have ever seen.

Cute historical theatre. Because of the history it's bound to be small. I do love the lockers and various seating arrangements. Clean bathrooms too. Though for the super sonic Jazz festival, it was really frustrating to have to migrate from different rooms every hour for different acts,,, especially since upstairs and downstairs (the basement) are so much smaller. The security had to close the doors too bc they went over capacity even before the acts would come on. Just do it all in the main room so we can all fit xx

This is the best and most magical venue i’ve ever been! I saw djo and it was a blast. The staff was amazing and they were so kind.

Great venue for live music. Sound and view are world class. Toilet situation could be a bit better, but in general all very well organized. Easy to come to this place by public transport. I've been here a few times now, always a pleasure to spend time here!

Saw Mari Froes there and it was awesome! The venue is small, extremely intimate, so it is a good space to dance and feel more connected to the artist. There was no security check for bags though, and that made me feel somewhat unsafe.

My daughter and I went for Techno Tuesday. The security staff were polite and professional. The club was clean and spacious. The unisex toilets were clean. Lovely ladies outside the toilets selling lollipops. The club was advertised to open at 23:30, but only opened its doors just before midnight.

Zakaria was a curly haired legend! If you’re looking for sickkk drum and bass, Monday night at Melkweg is the place to be All the staff were so friendly also! I can’t remember most of their names but they were so welcoming and funny as! Thanks for a cracker of a night mates <3

I went to the Melkweg in Amsterdam for my first concert and it was amazing! Even though I arrived a bit late, there was no waiting line and everything went super smoothly. The sound and lights were incredible and the atmosphere inside was full of good energy. The staff were friendly and the drinks weren’t that expensive compared to other venues. I really liked how organized everything was from the entry to the bar service. It felt cozy but still had that exciting concert vibe. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience and I’d definitely come back for another show. Highly recommend this place if you love live music!

I’ve been to 2 concerts (alll good then) and a Macumba party(which I think it was a bit crowded and you couldn’t dance properly with all the people always asking to pass by) locker system works good! And the bathrooms nothing to complain about!

Great venue with a great sound system and lighting effects but they seriously need to add more than one exit point because the crowd crushing at the end of the concert is brutal

Great place to meet friends and have drinks and dinners. Plenty of restaurants and pubs around.

Rembrandtplein – Lively, Photogenic, and Worth a Stroll I had bookmarked Rembrandtplein as one of the neighborhoods to explore in Amsterdam—not because of glowing reviewer hype, but because it’s highly rated and I was curious to see what the fuss was about. It turned out to be quite lively, especially in the evening, with people gathering in the central square as if it were an open-air living room. The two statues—Rembrandt and his bronze entourage—are striking and very Instagrammable (yes, I took far too many pictures). Surrounding the square is a ring of cafés, bars, and eateries that hint at a vibrant nightlife. While I wouldn’t call it the city’s cultural heartbeat, it’s certainly a pleasant, energetic stop on any Amsterdam wander.

The best chill place

A very lively place.

Absolutely loved the vibe. Its a restaurant/bar on a rooftop of a hotel. We went for dinner (that by the way was really tasty) and then drinks on the terrace. We tried to make a reservation but it was full, we decided to give it a try anyway and had no problem getting a table as soon as we got there, even though it was a Saturday evening. Great views, great place, great music. The only thing why I don’t give 5 starts is because the service was really slow (but the staff were kind).

Great rooftop bar, the view is amazing from here. They have beer pitcher, cocktails and even tho I didn't try the main dishes they looked good. We spent the afternoon with a great sunset and chill music. They have DJ on Saturdays from 20:00

Hidden spot, love the food and terrace. Terrace is first come-first serve, no booking available. I liked that place so much, that I spent my birthday there, they let me bring balloons, which is a very nice gesture :) staff is friendly.

I love this place, especially in summer or whenever you can sit outside. It’s such a beautiful spot with an amazing view of the whole city of Amsterdam. PS: we got the coolest dj in town

The restaurant has improved quite much since the past 6 months. The food is quite varied and savory, the service is attentive, and the cocktails are quite creative and are some of the best ones I’ve had in Amsterdam. Additionally, the place has a great view of the south and east part of the city, which makes for a beautiful atmosphere. As for recommendations here is what I would encourage you to try: 1. The Japanese Gin Fizz is out of this world and my all time favorite. 2. The bitterballen are delicious and are made with good quality ingredients. 3. The roast beef bread was so fresh and the flavor combination adds so much to the dish, however I do have to say that I prefer the bread to be warm. 5. The roasted pumpkin salad is quite refreshing, nevertheless I do think that it tastes better if some salt is added and it would perhaps be more savory with some balsamic or honey as dressing. 6. The white chocolate cheesecake is the only way to properly finish off the meal as it is creamy and savory. As a final note, I do have to mention that the service attention decreases as lunch hours are ending so I would recommend you to consider going before 15:30 for attentive and quick service. Nevertheless, there is always personnel around that can help you with anything you need.

Chef is really good, the serving staff got the drinks over wrong 3 times, and it was only su, mineral su and a wine ! Then they cleared plated before we had all finished. Food really healthy and good value for the location.

Lunch til 4 and dinner starts at 5. Indoor and outdoor dining with views from almost anywhere you sit. We have had bitterballen from 3 different places the past 2 days and this was our favorite so far. I recommend the bread with veal, smoked ham Mayo, and dried capers. The cheese soufflés and chili sauce were better than expected. And of course, the cocktails were great.

I’m not sure why I’m seeing any bad reviews on here at all. Staff was so nice and welcoming. Drinks weren’t too expensive given the area. The music was so so good and most importantly it was a inclusive environment where neither my partner or I experienced any kind of hate or harassment. As of August 2025 this is a wonderful place to be that is worth your money!

As a gay man travelling alone, I have experienced so much fun in NYX. 3 floors with different kinds of music and people from different nationalities. The spaces are not so large but its not a problem at all (sometimes its indeed the solution Lol). There were live shows as well a nice DJ. Definitely recommed it

Had a great night with a friend of mine, overall great vibe, amazing music and a good variety of music with three floors to choose from. We went on a Wednesday so we didn’t have to pay entrance and got a stamp to go out for a smoke if need be. Now for the downsides drinks where outrageous with 12 euros for 2 shots and the last half an hour the music got repetitive and some guys started getting a little handsy when we didnt ask for that

Let me start with the premise that I absolutely love your club, it is my favorite in Amsterdam and I travelled an hour just to get there last night. However, unfortunately it was a horrible experience as the bouncer denied my friends entry ruining our whole night that we had been planning for weeks. I was with a group of 10, consisting of 5 Dutch people and 5 internationals. We had been at a Halloween party prior to getting to Nyx, and so some of us had costumes on. The bouncer let in all 5 of the Dutch people and they were wearing full deer and devil makeup, meanwhile they denied my 2 friends because they had "I💙London" T shirts saying that they can't come in with a costume. Now, I don't wanna accuse someone of racism or xenophobia but I cannot think of any other explanation as to how that makes sense. How is full devil/deer makeup allowed but a normal T-shirt isn't? Additionally there were 3 girls behind us wearing normal outfits and the 2 internationals were again denied entry for absolutely no reason by the same bouncer (Short brown haired girl) while the 3rd girl who was Dutch was asked if she wanted to leave her friends and get inside. Our night was ruined as none of us got to go inside for no reason after we planned it for weeks to go to your club. We tried to have a conversation with the bouncer but she wouldn't let us speak and then kicked us out of the line again for "talking over her". I love your club but I found this absolutely ridiculous and thought that you should be aware of this since it's really dwindling your clientelle as I've spoken to other people and they told me they've had the same bad experiences not being let in for ridiculous reasons.

The bouncers on the door behave like they own the club and would deny you entry if they feel like it and give you shitty reasons and won't be open to even talk or explain. They are rude and racist and even swear at you. For a place that's supposed to be inclusive, this is literally the opposite. You buy the tickets online and get denied entry and you can't even get the refund because if you ask for it, they'll tell you "not my problem". Never go to this club, not recommended at all.

It's a very interesting 3 floor venue with different stages of music. The kind of music depends on the day, but normally it's a combination of pop, latin music, 90s hits, techno, disco etc. Check their instagram to see what djs are going to play that day because the music is a hit or miss sometimes. I highly recommend getting early to the venue because they give you a stamp in your wrist to go outside and in anytime you want. This way you can hop to the other bars and explore what they have to offer too. Mostly Gen-Z / late millenial oriented. Queer oriented but also a lot of nice and chill straight people. There are lockers to leave your belongings, but you need a 2€ coin for that. There is also an entrance fee of (by the time of this review) 16€.

When you look at the website, it gives a good impression, even a great one. In fact appeared to be a non-ventilated place full of school-kids, paid toilet, rude security and dj just playing one popular song after another.

This nightclub is a con they made me buy a €19 ticket made me stand in line for more than 45 mins and then told me I’m not allowed because the first time I didn’t buy an online ticket even though I had spent my hard earned money that they wanted me to spend. I couldn’t believe a club could literally con the people, when asked for refund they said good luck trying to get it! Consider it as a charity to the club

I see reviews about people complaining about the cost. It’s pretty standard prices, but horrible atmosphere. Incredibly trashy vibes and DJs were not reading the room. I will never be coming back.

Most guetto place in Amsterdam. You pay 30 bucks to get in only to be treated like crap by the toilet lady even after you pay her the 1eu for toilet (for 30 bucks entry you would imagine this is free). Thrashy crowd, trashy place. Bad music. Don’t go there.

one of the worst clubs I’ve ever been to, it is definitely not safe for women and the staff is extremely rude. one of the security guys started SCREAMING at us and wasn’t helpful at all after we told him that a guy had started bothering us and threw a cup in my friend’s face. stay away from this place pls

Quite strange place. As a night club I absolutely didn't like it: music, rude staff, uncozy atmosphere. They also give a fitness classes here, but it looks like just collecting some money instead of providing a proper fitness class. Moreover, dirty and sticky floor, no fitness props, using nightclub furniture as steps/ holders, unprofessional set of exercises, 2 ladies on 1 fitness mat?!?!... all these tell everything by itself.

So I saw some negative reviews about rude staff and paying for toilets. I think they changed that! I was there yesterday and the place was really good. Free (and a lot of) toilets, friendly staff, really nice vibe. Yeah...the lockers are a bit expensive. But it's about the same price at the festivals in The Netherlands. Please bring your earplugs! The music in the main room is really loud (if we turn it down a couple of db's, I would have given the place 5 stars).

Went there for the first time last weekend for a night party. E 7,5 for a bottle of water is a bit much. Also I didn't like the soundsystem at all. Only right in front of the DJ booth the sound was good. In the rest of the area the sound was very muddy with huge lack of mids and high.

Good but overpriced (pay extra for everything, including lockers and the bathrooms) night club with amazing music selection and several bars in an industrial setting. We went to the Goldfish concert and that was fantastic. The sound system was set quite loud though.

You need an id to enter and nowhere on the event is mentioned. We spent 40 minutes in line in the rain only to not get accepted because of the id.

Emersive experience worth going on make sure u don't exit a black door too early as you can shorten the experience.

Have been in WE twice, recently during ADE on Exhale and it freaking rocks! Great sound, great visuals, lockers and friendly stuff. Also it did not get hot at all - perfect temperature for raving 👽 Cu soon! Update 7th March 2020: Have been here a few more times - I will praise the A/C in the main room 🖤 tip: you should wear your earplugs esp on the main room! Music is so so loud 🖤

No one should ever set foot in this place. It is managed by deeply unprofessional and frankly unhinged individuals. Guests are at risk of being randomly attacked — yes, attacked — by the bathroom attendant, who seems to be completely out of control. And instead of stepping in or offering any explanation, the security staff chooses to escort people out like criminals, without a single word of apology or reason. This is not hospitality. This is madness. Places like this should not be operating. They don’t deserve your money, your time, or your trust. There are plenty of places that know how to treat human beings with basic respect — this is not one of them. A complete disgrace. Avoid at all costs.

I understand that liquids are not allowed in. But I had my spray medicine with me & the door staff refused to at least let me leave it at the door for me to pick up later - he wanted to take it away from me & once it was in his hand, he acted like he will not give it back. In other clubs it’s not a problem - you leave problematic stuff at the door to pick it up later. Only this particular doorkeeper wants to throw out your medicine. Since when it should be a problem to take meds into a club? This was just bullying, not any meaningful rules. Thankfully he returned it, but I left & won’t come again. Terrible attitude. This is not security - this is bullying.

actually insane, i’ve read so much about the security being mean or kicking you out, the staff not being professional,.. well i can guarantee you that it’s a lie lmaoo i felt so safe in there!! the music was so good, the people were soooo nice, everyone was really friendly and it was so good! mind you i went on halloween night and everything went perfectly fine only thing are the prices but hey its a club after all, they gotta make money lol

One of the better clubs in Amsterdam with something different every weekend. I prefer some other clubs a bit more as Radion is very large compared to some and I prefer a smaller club, but to each their own

We were there for lunch, it's a very limited choice of dishes for lunch. They only have a few kinds of panini's and a few pies. It took the panini's really long to be served, and they couldn't serve us all at the same time so some people had to eat their food before others even got served. The Apple pie was warmed up using the microwave, but was still ice cold in the middle. Overall, it's a basic lunch. It's not good, but not uneatable either. Also, you can only order in English here.

Had an amazing time at Radion for the first "Creatures of the Night" techno party! DJ Francois x absolutely killed it with an energetic 8-hour set that flawlessly blended different styles of techno. The crowd was phenomenal - respectful yet super into the music, making it impossible to stay off the dance floor! came early and had zero wait time, but as was leaving, a huge line was forming outside, so arrive early for popular events! This is a must-visit for techno lovers in Amsterdam. The bouncers were friendly, drink prices were reasonable with their token system, and there was a big rest area when you needed a break. Lockers were available too! The club itself is easy to find, but keep in mind there might be limited transportation options late at night, so plan ahead.

One of the best parts of our holiday. The beer is delicious - we had a tasting flight and genuinely there was not one option I wouldn’t order again. Would also recommend doing the weekend tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable and it was interesting to learn about the history of Amsterdam’s largest craft brewery.

Great beers and brewery in a windmill. We had the tasting 17.5 € pp, and it was good to taste their different beers. It was a bit windy being outside but there were no tables inside. The food selection somewhat limited and the friendliness of the staff working at the food counter could be improved.

Easy to get to and the wait time is short. Lots of options for drinks to choose from. Plenty of seating for couples and groups. The location looks amazing too. We sat outside by the river and had a beer each. No complaints! A great place to visit.

The service here needs improving. They’re always busy so it seems they can get away without treating customers well or adhering to food standards. The beer was ok but the food was terrible. Poorly put together and served by a guy who kept licking his fingers in between cutting up sausage, cheese and squeezing out mustard and other sauces from a bag - DISGRACEFUL! Being a typical Brit, I didn’t complain, but I couldn’t eat it after seeing that.

We tried a flight at Brouwerij 't IJ—decent beers, but mostly their basic range. None of the more unique or special brews were included, which made it a bit underwhelming if you're hoping to taste the brewery’s full potential. At €17.50, it felt overpriced, especially with cold service and a tip prompt. Still, the windmill setting is charming and it’s a pleasant enough stop, though it leans touristy.

One of the best breweries I've been to! There were a lot of different beer choices and a ton of little snacks/bites to choose from which was unique. I highly recommend stopping by! This was worth the trip from the main area of Amsterdam.

Love the stained glass windows! even the name. music, the crowd and visuals are all chill. lockers are available for convenience, theres a cute photo booth when you first enter before you take the stairs down to the main areas :) don't forget to capture some memories! <3

Last Saturday very nice concert of the Hungarian band Kispál és a Borz! They rock every place in Hungary and now even in the fine hall of Bitterzoet in Amsterdam! Very cosy setting and wonderful kind people behind the bars! 🤘🏽

Really cool vibes in this place. The stained glass windows and superb in-show lighting adds to immeasurably to the feel of this place. It’s a standing room venue that keeps you close to the stage and immersed in the moment. It sounds great and is very accessible from Amsterdam’s city center. Definitely a great choice for a night out!!

Fine place, was too small for the event but it's on the organizers. Toilets were relatively clean. Did not chech out the bar.

Quite a nice club, cozy, easy to reach via metro. Great sound and atmosphere. I saw The Waeve (with Blur's Graham Coxon), and loved everything

We thought we would be able to see our friends band after pre-purchasing tickets. We didn't realize that you need to wait in line for an hour to ensure that you can see the band. We ended up sitting upstairs on the couch drinking and listening to our childhood friends band from Fargo, ND. The concert sounded great! Just couldn't see s#*t. The bar tender was really friendly, and told us that the venue could hold up to 500 people and that currently only 300 tickets were sold. It was shoulder to shoulder, people standing on stairs, balcony, wherever they could catch a glimpse. The saddest thing I saw all night was a couple holding each other at the bottom of the stairwell to the lockers/bathrooms, swaying in their seated position, eyes closed, trying to enjoy the music. I wanted to tell them that if they pushed through the horde, there was standing space on the balcony. As the show concluded, we waited around to say hi to our friends in the band and just after the line died down to sign autographs everyone was quickly being escorted outside. Apparently 'Im with the band!' doesn't even work for the band. After rendezvousing with them afterward at nearby bar Louis (awesome place, tasty food) they were peeved since the club had oversold the 350 cap. They sold 485 tickets. This would be an amazing venue at 250-300 person limit. The Bitterzoet has been bittersweet.

Stayed here with my brother in May 2016 and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, with a friendly, international crowd. The location is close to the city center, prices were very reasonable, and it felt welcoming and safe. Would definitely recommend it.

The place is in an amazing location. Staff is very friendly and the common areas and toilets are super clean. Downside is that it can get very very noisy if you’re in rooms 1 or 2 because the window is facing the area of the cafe. The rooms are super small which for me is okay but you can literally just walk straight to your bed. They do have lockers for everyone in the rooms :) Breakfast included but options were only a ham and cheese sandwich or 3 plain pancakes or yogurt. Usually free breakfast hostels have a range of options you can pick yourself. Would come back again :)

Lovely quiet hostel in the Red Light district. Breakfast is included, you can have either a hot meal or cereal and fruit. The rooms are kinda small, but nicely decorated. Toilets and showers are cleaned throughout the day. You can rent a towel for €2 and when you return it they will give you €1 back. The staff is very friendly and this place was super welcoming. I highly recommend staying at this hostel!

Found the staff to be friendly, I love the environment i feel as if everyone is really interactive and I love the bible meetings that are held. I think in regards to rooms it's pretty tight, I think I was in a dorm with 16 girls and it was really tight. I could hardly store my 20kg bag (only go here if you're travelling light is my suggestion). The showers and small, same with the bathrooms. They do serve food and free breakfast however which is nice. The halls and cafe are relatively nice areas. I think the people made the experience much better. in terms of location its located pretty centrally you can basically walk to the city centre in 5 minutes which I found to be nice, so you can easily access food any time you want.

Friendly staff, but one must say the place is not so clean and adorable like photos! Yet the prices are so reasonable, regarding the included breakfast (it was great by the way)... If it's your first time in Amsterdam, take care that the great location at city centre, means being in the heart of the red-light district of the city, so Google the things up before going, to get an idea about the place, and not get shocked when you arrive!

We booked our accommodations online and when we arrived, they had booked 2 female rooms instead of what we asked for, 1 male and 1 female. This was a larger issue as they do not let men and woman in the same room unless they are married. Breakfast was included and that morning was Hot Breakfast. It was cooked eggs on 2 pieces of uncooked bread and cheese thrown on top not melted. It felt like breakfast was started but not finished. They have a patio and an inside but no matter where we sat, we couldn't get away from smokers. The staff was very pleasant and helpful which was appreciated.

Very good value for money, friendly staff, and really tasty breakfast. The Christianity is not so in-your-face which is nice, but you do notice it. I have seen cleaner hostel bathrooms, but I have also seen far worse, so don't expect wonders. Not really enough sockets per room to charge electrical items but you can do this at reception. Atmosphere is a little muted due to the 'alcohol free' nature of the building. However, conveniently located. Would consider staying again, but far from my favourite hostel experiences.

DON'T GO TO THIS CLUB!!!!! If you want to have a bad evening then you can visit this club. Security will mock you and be rude. Drinks will become more expensive and personal things will be stolen. You will be beaten even if you are not 18. And if you feel bad then you will not be helped. The most terrible club of all that I have visited. Terrible Experience – Disrespectful to Artists and Customers I had the worst experience at Air Last Saturday. Not only was the service awful, but the way they treated the performing artist was absolutely unacceptable. The venue had promoted the event as a major performance, yet they completely disrespected the artist—cutting their set short by completely cut her off without any communication messing up their entire vibes. The staff was rude, unorganized, and seemed like they had no clue how to handle an event. It’s one thing to have a bad club atmosphere, but treating talent with such disrespect is a whole new low. If you actually care about music and supporting artists, avoid this place at all costs. They clearly don’t.

Security is very unprofessional here. Queue of people with tickets is managed really badly as doormen too busy joking with friends and queue skipping girls they like. Price of drinks is very expensive. Vibe in the club is not entirely comfortable due to lack of authority from security allowing too many idiots in. Positives are the sound system is very good and DJ was also good.

Security is super unprofessional. They didn’t do anything when a girl had a seizure, but threw me out when I spilled some water and threw a guy out, he was doing nothing but just jumping and enjoying the concert like everyone else did.

We attended a throw back night, the music was great, bottles weren’t to unreasonably priced. We however were given a bit of a bad table for location and asked to move to one of the many empty tables on arrival and were denied it which was frustrating as we spent most of the night away from our table on dance floor and as the night went onto 3/4am the throwback music turned to dance music. But all in all not a bad place to go

This place is borderline scam. Entrance fee is crazy, drinks even crazier and then they have the audacity charge 2 euros for bathroom. Yet staff is acting like they are something better than you. The owner either lost their marbles, or is relying on tourist traffic that never has to come back.

Very expensive, asked was there anywhere to sit and told I had to pay to book a table meaning you are left holding your drink which means drinking more, had to pay to use toilet, music was average, serving staff served attractive girls first. Drinks were approx 4.50 for half a pint. Not worth the money on top of 20 euro entry.

we visited as we are not so much into mainstream - for ' machine cult' and what can I say: extremely nice staff, good electronic music, good vibes ... we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

I have been coming here for the past decade and have never been disappointed about anything. In fact, each year they get better at the quality of the artists, best sound quality by far, best lighting effects and top notch visuals. And what I personally love the most, staff aren’t just friendly to people like myself. They became like a family and really good bunch of people who will always keep everyone safe and one can barely notice any problems even if they occasionally occur. I’m always happy when I come from that place because it’s not just a party that I visit but with the right ambient and mindset it becomes a spiritual and scientific experience created by excellent team work of lights and VJ team. Sound and lights together will take you to a higher dimension than you have ever been able to achieve on your own. I love OT301!

Not accessible for people with disabilities. This is very very very upsetting. Many of the chairs are broken and in need of repair. The door locks so only the person with the key can access. Everyone else has to call to be let in after the fact. Not my performance or practice place of choice. The art here and performance is great but not at the expense of people with disabilities.

This location in the center of Amsterdam breathes underground! OT301 has an old soul and you can feel this inside. We love the crowd who are attracted to this place. Wicked venue with some pretty sound staff. Would defo come back for future events. Even if you do have to leave in silence 🤣😝 (due to neighbours)

This is a charming, intimate bar in a quaint little alley. It is quite small, so seating is limited, but to our delight, they had some tables available when we arrived. I had a couple of different gin tonics here, and they were very good! The bartender was very friendly and helpful. I would love to visit this bar again if we return to Amsterdam.

I chose 5 stars for “food” because there isn’t an option for drinks. Such a wonderfully interesting, tiny (14 seats) place. Henny (sp?) is the owner (mid 70s). Very nice fellow, gracious and fast. In addition to the beer try the Amsterdam gin and tonic. Agree with Henny to allow him to add some bits of chopped ginger. Try to estimate the depth of dust on the bird cage and chandeliers. Just a lovely place.

The coolest space that I've seen in a while. This pub/bar is the definition of cozy and is well decorated with so many small trinkets on shelves and walls. The drinks are good, the menu is well designed and the owners/bartenders are very friendly.

We were lured in based on how cozy and welcoming the bar looked and only then realised it's a typical/cultural brown bar. The bar tender/owner made everyone feel welcome and tended to! Would recommend for great bears and ambience.

This place just feels old. Some of it is the super dusty birdcage and such that’s. But mostly it has a vibe like it’s been in Amsterdam forever. It’s a bit cramped so is easily full. But a bar seat has been available on my visits if you feel up for squeezing in. Some tables out on the street too. The people running it are friendly and helpful but also suitably clear and firm when someone starts asking odd questions.

Phenomenal craft beer spot in historic Amsterdam specialized in Dutch offerings. Nicely curated selection, offering around 50 draft beer rotating options. They cover a great gamut of styles, contemporary and classic pours, with special releases in a nicely maintained set up. They also have some selected bottles and cans, and a few designated offerings that can be taken to go. Snack food in the form of charcuterie and cheese boards offer plenty of Netherlands options. Portions are generous and tasty. The venue´s decor has a classic copper and wood feel with some breweriana. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating by the canal. Staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and affable. They offer courteous sample pours to explore some options, and do know the craft and hospitality business very well. I saw bartenders being exemplary, courteous, and very professional managing with dexterity and elegance the rare potentially difficult patron. The pub is part of a group that has other venues associated around town with a more international range of ales. The specialization of this one into the Dutch craft beer scene is very notable, offering a very enjoyable insight into their brews. It's a compulsory stop for the Amsterdam visit.

Wonderful selection of Dutch beers and amazing cheese platter for snacking. If you have time there is 3 additional bars that collaborate in a one day challenge of tasting a beer all 4 bars for a free shirt. It was a fun way to try the local bars and take back a souvenir from our trip.

From the moment you step inside, you can feel the amazing ambiance. The wide selection of high-quality beers can be perfectly paired with delicious appetizers. Prices are quite reasonable for Amsterdam. The bartenders are polite, friendly, and always helpful. I’m sure I’ll be coming back on every visit and I’ve already started recommending this place to my friends.

As a decades long global beer hunter, Arendsnest is one of the world's best. While other beer bars tend to focus solely on their own brews or feature a menu of global beers longer than War and Peace, Ardensnest focuses on Dutch beers. There's a few guest taps for contrast, but the innovation and quality of Dutch brewers, in a Dutch only atmosphere, is the primary delivery. Ardensnest is primarily a neighborhood bar, in a relatively quiet part of Amsterdam, where locals and a few fortunate beer tourists gather to enjoy the close, friendly space and a few incredible beers.

One of the best pubs I’ve been to in Amsterdam. The tap list is great and the food options are also very nice. Prices are regular. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is also the first stop of the MoreBeer beer tour of Amsterdam. Definitely worth a shot!

This place is 5 star awesome, no question. Every beer is Dutch. They clearly look after the beers as they are all in great condition. The staff are knowledgeable, multi lingual and super helpful. And if you need it, there are some great sausages and cheeses for snacks. Wish I lived here, it's that good

A great beer bar with a TON of choice. Staff is friendly and know their beers. It's not a cheap place, but I definitely recommend it if you're a beer lover. We had fun and tasted some special brews. Definitely coming back.

I’ve been here a few times, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always vibrant and welcoming to everyone, with excellent service from the charming staff. The vibe is hip yet relaxed — I just stopped in for a coffee and an incredibly tasty chicken sandwich. A real hidden gem right next to Oosterpark.

O stumbled upon this place because it was in the neighborhood where I was staying. I wanted a quick breakfast and it was a very pleasant surprise. I got a green shake with kale, apple, and a banana, with lots of pulp. Very refreshing! For the main course, I had a coconut yogurt and a fresh fruit bowl. It was the perfect amount , very fresh, and flavorful. Very fast service. I'm very pleased and would definitely come back to see what they have in store for dinner.

Great place to grab a drink and some snacks! The outdoor area is perfect for bigger groups—we had around 12–14 people and it worked out great. Even though it was busy, the service was solid and everything ran smoothly.

Good bar. A wide selection of drinks, ordered the Negroni which was nice. The bar is located next to a busy street so the outside area can be a bit loud sometimes, better sit inside.

At the time there were 2 female waitresses whose behaviour made the atmosphere uncomfortable, lack of courtesy, they seem jealous to see a well dressed women. Avoid this place please. I hope management addresses this, as it negatively affected the entire experience.

Good food, price is okay. Nice indoor or outdoor seating. A bit busy when we were there but the staff are nice and attentive. If you're wondering how to get there from Amsterdam Central Station, there's a free ferry that goes back and forth at the back of the station.

I enjoyed the beautiful summer view and the pleasant breeze. However, the samosa didn’t quite meet my expectations, possibly because I’m used to Indian samosas. Despite this, the atmosphere was great and enjoyable, with an amazing view.

The service is consistently outstanding , friendly, attentive, and relaxed, adding to the overall great vibe. It's ideal for both families and groups of friends.

A grungy spot in NDSM Amsterdam, with an industrial look made from old containers, plus a sandy riverside beach with picnic tables, sun loungers, and quirky DIY-style furniture. The vibe is creative but a bit messy, and overall it didn’t give me the comfort or relaxation I’d expect for enjoying a coffee, a beer and chat with friends. Honestly, a bit overrated. The friendliness of the staff is definitely the main strength of this place.

Pllek is one of the most unique spots in Amsterdam. The location on the NDSM wharf is stunning — you can sit on the man-made beach, watch the water, and soak up the laid-back vibe. The atmosphere is creative and relaxed, with a great mix of locals, families, and travelers. The menu leans mostly vegetarian/vegan and feels fresh and light. Some dishes are absolutely delicious, others a bit underwhelming, and the portions can be on the smaller side. Prices are on the higher end, but you’re really paying for the view and vibe. Service was friendly but a little slow when busy. Still, this is a perfect place to spend an afternoon in the sun or enjoy drinks in the evening. Worth the ferry ride over as long as you're doing other things like the STRAAT Museum!

Superb spot! Great location with cool vibes. Perfect for sundowners. Book if you want a table but there’s also plenty of outside seating which is first come first served.

Small and intimate speakeasy bar. Once you find the door you ring the bell to be let in! Staff very friendly and talked us through the menu. A wide range of speciality cocktails available. I do prefer to see the glasses on the menu as it’s very hard to tell sometimes whether you are getting a long or short cocktail. I am not a fan of long drinks full of ice. Great to try new cocktails and we had a couple each. Seating and tables in the booths could do with a revamp and when I went to the toilet my shoes were sticking to the floor! Nice experience though.

Hidden away without a sign, Door 74 feels like a genuine secret in Amsterdam. The cosy, dimly lit atmosphere is really inviting. The bartenders are true professionals and the menu features unique, carefully made cocktails. I’d recommend the Manila Mirage—it’s superb. Perfect spot if you’re after something a bit different.

Came here after researching bars in Amsterdam, dropped by alone on a Thursday evening. Giulia opened the door and told me it's full, to come in 30-60 min back, she might have a seat. Came back, seat was empty and I had an amazing drink accompanied by the best staff (Thanks again Giulia!). Decided to drop by the next day to have another 2 drinks. That day, Tim was also there who was super nice. Him and Giulia made my nights in Amsterdam! Make sure to have a reservation, otherwise you might need to wait in queue.

I can’t recommend this cocktail bar, there are definitely better bars in the area. What I liked about the place: lighting (starts projection on the ceiling) and page in the menu where all drinks were placed on the chart based on their sweetness and strength level. Why 3 stars: cocktails are not good, they all seem to be watery with poor flavour. You can get drunk from them but you cant enjoy the taste. Also, the atmosphere is not very cozy

Lovely place, they serve amazing cocktails. The manager is a great guy who told me more about his passion: cocktails. It’s amazing that they have a new menu every month. Love the Bond theme as that was the reason for me to go visit the first time.

LuminAir Sky Bar is truly special! This is an experience you simply have to check off your list. The view from the terrace is breathtaking — you can see the entire city and enjoy a stunning sunset. The staff are friendly and always smiling. I highly recommend the Porn Star Martini — it’s absolutely divine! Without a doubt, this place deserves the top spot on your Amsterdam to-do list.

This was my first time here and I LOVED everything about it. The food was delicious, especially the snow crab and lobster brioche and the oysters! Our waiter, Marcelo, was the absolute best!!! He was so attentive and gave great descriptions of menu items we asked about. He gave great suggestions too. He was always available and attentive to our table, despite have quite a few other tables as it was a busy Saturday night. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to return.

My first time in LuminAir. I came with three of my friends from London. Now, as this is a fancy place, we weren't quite dressed for the occasion, wearing tracksuits and sports clothes. Back in the UK, bouncers would turn us away in a hot minute. But the staff were friendly and didn't think anything about what we wore; we were treated like everyone else. LuminAir has lovely views of the city, and the venue itself is stunning. I gave four stars because the drinks are a little expensive, but the experience you get from LuminAir is what you pay for. LuminAir is a great start for a night out for drinks or even dinner. Thank you, guys.

Fun little spot with decent food and games on the second floor. Very friendly service. The selection of arcade games is a little sparse, some of which were out of order. Nice option during the summer time with outdoor space. Not a place I would intentionally travel to but would consider popping in if you happen to be in the area.

Normally come here for Pac-Man and air hockey, but the food is actually very good as well. Super nice spot and spacious terrace outside. Enjoyed the dishes, there are many vegetarian options available. Only the negative point were the fries, they were tucked in a cup, what made them soggy / looose their crisp.

Recently we had our company outing here. It was an amazing experience! The vibe and atmosphere of this place is great! It’s cozy and we love the variety of different (arcade) games they have here. The food and drinks are tasty and delicious. The crew is friendly, welcoming and proactive. Definitely highly recommended to spend some quality time here, either by yourself, with friends/family or with your entire company! Just make sure to call them and make a reservation well in advance if there are a lot of people coming!

The food is below average unfortunately and not tasty so I would say just come for drinks if you want to come. The arcades are fun but some of them are broken and not working correctly. The restaurant is located on the first floor, has an industrial decor and dim lighting. They have a variety of starters and a mix of Asian dishes and Dutch snacks. The upstairs floor has a variety of arcades with a good atmosphere. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Friendly and close service, although with little experience.

Go Go for the food on the terrasse !Small dishes, very tasty and fresh with a very delicate decoration. Dont come inside if you want a peaceful place, its noisy and avoid the coco cocktail, it was not good and what we can considerate a real cocktail, i couldnt drink it . The total concept is cool ! Thoses few arcades you pay a bit expensively with coins, where some are hard to get or a bit boring, let you have a nice time for a first time.Place which deserve a try ✨🤘🏻

I visited this bar on a recommendation by a friend. In an evening, all by myself, as I sauntered into this bar, on my last night in Europe, I wasn't imagining a lot with my mind. This bar and the bartender, Artiom, turned out to be the perfect companion on my last evening. The cocktails are potent and I was pretty buzzed even after my first one. But I dared to take a second and I was as happy as I have ever been walking out of a bar. It's a place to go to unwind at the end of the day. A must visit and a change in experience in Amsterdam

Hiding in Plain Sight cocktail bar in Amsterdam was an incredible experience! We visited before dinner and were immediately impressed by the semi-hidden location—it’s tucked away without bright lights or a large sign, making it feel like a true hidden gem. Upon arrival, we were greeted with glasses of water and a thoughtfully designed cocktail menu that included their philosophy, which was a nice touch. The cocktails themselves were stellar—beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and full of unique flavors. At €17-20 per cocktail, we found the pricing reasonable, especially compared to similar bars in major U.S. cities. The service was excellent, with a knowledgeable and friendly staff who clearly had a passion for their craft. It was a memorable experience, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch cocktails in a cozy, intimate setting.

Amazing atmosphere with good vibes and nice views, it can be difficult to find a place to sit, but it's possible to split a table with someone if they're okay with it. There are a lot of beer options and also jars, which makes it easier to share. They also have vegan options, and we tried the Vegan Bitterballen and it was simply amazing! I can just recommend it.

This place is really a cool spot, good cold beer, good food and if you come by boat you can pull up to the dock, scan the QR code and the servers will bring your food and drinks right to your boat! It got a little crowded after we were there for a while, but all the locals were very friendly and welcoming, I was sorry we didn't make it back there.

Beautiful view. Fast service. The French onion soup was great. The nachos for me personally, I would not order again. But they are just like nachos every where here. Drinks were nice and cold. We will be back. We had a chicken sandwich which was good as well. Loved this place.

Absolutely idyllic! Great for an outdoor pint in a non-touristy atmosphere, with some shade under the trees, this place is tucked away between houseboat gardens, but mere minutes walk away from the Science Museum and city centre & perfect if you want a little oasis away from the bustle. They offer a solid beer selection, small plates and desserts, but it's all about the dreamy atmosphere. You can even dock your boat and order drinks there via QR code! Extra mention goes to the tables - every single one is a unique piece of art! Cannot recommend the place enough

The atmosphere was great, and the weather enhanced it. You can even go for a swim but I didn't. Foodwise. The snacks were good and flavorful, especially the Bitterballen and Nacho's. However, the main food (burger) was of poor quality and lacked flavor. Fries were great though. If they improve on the quality of the main dishes, I can definitely recommend this place. If you only go for drinks and snacks, also great!

A very inviting spot for drinks and snacks with friends or coworkers, especially on those rare, warm sunny days in Amsterdam. The prices feel fair for a place that offers such a relaxing view over the river. Bonus: you can even park your boat here and order drinks, making it a unique and charming experience.

Perfect location is being wasted by the incompetent management! I have been here a couple of times already in the last years but my final visit made me to review eventually. Prices are high for what you get as a food/service. We ordered 4 cheeseburgers and 3 of them had cartilage pieces in them. How low is the meat quality. You order Cola and it tastes worse than the machine ones in McDonald's. Plus, the food and drink are served with paper/plastic cup and board. I am not visiting here soon. There are already better places by the water in south. The management team needs a fact check.

Can’t remember the name of the musicians we saw but thank you for making our weekend! High quality musicians who played their own riff on the likes of Bobby Caldwell, Bill Withers, with a Latin influence and great rapper. My mum is now a hip hop head. 8 euros to see fantastic musicians play all night long. Thanks we had a ball!

This was great. We were lucky enough to arrive early so got a seat. The music was at just the right volume - no need to shout to he heard and there was a good selection of beers. Laid back and cool.

Great place with live music and drinks, place gets nicely backed with people, but thankfully bar staff works their way around and you can order a drink where you are. The band was also really good, so definitely worth the visit.

One of my favourite places in Amsterdam. Went there in two different trips, and both times I had such a blast... The musicians were insanely good, the ambient is great, people appreciate the music, the vibes all around are amazing. Plus the entrance fee is only 8 euros. 10/10 will go again every time I visit.

Live music was really good. The band was amazing. Well spent time to listen to some jazz and blues music. We paid €7.5 per person for the entrance at the door- without drinks. Overall experience is great and we’ll visit again.

We were having such a good time for more than 1,5 hours (at least) then we were kicked out for having a good time while wearing sunglasses. Never again, paid so much for nothing. They were so mean to us and said nothing when we went in wearing sunglasses.

Security are racist and racially profiling, my friends and I had been standing in Maine waiting for our id’s to be checked and after they had checked my friends id they had asked for mine. I gave my id to security and she had asked me how old I was and I told her that I am 20 years old then she proceeds to tell me I’m lying while my id clearly states that I am in fact the agar that I am so then she tells me to step aside because the event was now apparently “21+” mind your his was not stated anywhere. My friends had a disagreement with each other in the line and security had but in on their conversation claiming that they were being rude to them and denied them entry too. Later on it’s cleared up that the event was in fact 18 plus and they had proceeded to gaslight me and try to claim that I couldn’t have “gone in the entire time” when I was literally denied access. I had been civil and did not cause any trouble but yet I was denied access with no valid reason and so were many others too. Highly do not recommend

This club is pretty much like stepping on a Lego while jamming your little toe into furniture. Honestly. Music from 2010, pretentious, really bad barkeepers, and a nice 2eur for toilet usage. I hope you sleep well at night.

It's ok the show was fine and entertaining, the food is ok. As someone that goes to cabarets often, I would say it's average. The menu was mostly Asian with a western influence, can't call it authentic but the taste and portion are ok. We especially like their desserts, very creative and tasty in a wonderful presentation. The staff gave a good amount of attention to customers. What we dislike is that they had very short shows with very long breaks. While the shows were entertaining but the breaks stopped the emotions to build up. My partner went there before and it wasn't arranged in this way, it was with a more diverse group of performers and shows were longer and breaks were shorter. If you're going, it would be nice to bring a light jacket because the air conditioner was very strong there and you would have goosebumps with short sleeves. Overall we won't repeat the visit if they continue to have short shows and very long breaks, unless only to have a dessert.

We had such a great time on a Saturday night. Thanks to Kim for letting me know that we could come in before 10pm for some drinks at the bar and then head on over to the club later. The music was the best we have heard in a long time with the greatest rnb and hip hop tunes. There was 12 of us and our waiter did a fantastic job of keeping up with our orders. We didn't catch his name (young guy, wore a white open collar shirt working near the 1st bar) thank you to him. The music was so good we didn't want to leave. A great evening if you're after a dance and drinks. Also we didnt have any dinner but did order some biting snacks and we wished we had booked dinner because they were so so tasty! One of the best cocktail bars in Amsterdam. The staff knows their craft and takes the time to understand what you like. Service was fast, professional, and warm. Atmosphere is cozy but energetic—perfect for a night out. Every drink we tried was balanced and creative. Highly recommended.

We made a reservation, and it was a busy saturday night, so I recommend making a reservation. We were welcomed very friendly, and our table was ready for us. The bartender was very considered of my friends citrus allergy, and made a surprise cocktail for me since I didn't know what to get. It was absolutely delicious, and we were seated right at the bar, so we could see all the bartenders working their magic. Every single bartender had a little chit chat with us, which felt so welcoming and friendly! I also had a mocktail, and that one was just as delicious as their alcoholic drink! We had a fun evening! 100% recommend going here!

An absolutely charming, little bar. Make sure you reserve in advance as they are small and extremely popular, a must-visit bar should you ever venture into Amsterdam. I'd rank this bar to the likes of Satan's Whiskers in London for the uniqueness along with the amazing bartenders (plenty of humour especially if you get seated in the bar area), they conjure up amazing drinks beyond the quirky menu and classic cocktails.

Really fun and cool speakeasy style bar, on top of a restaurant. Amazing drinks with a super cool and unique menu of the evolution of cocktails. Also loved the flavor mapping of all their cocktails. The drinks were very good. I really liked the atmosphere and vibe. You should probably call ahead as the place is very tight with a bar section, 4 tables and 2 couches. We were lucky that there was space. You can get everything from affordable drinks to drinks that cost $500+ The flying Dutchman drink was a good choice. Starts sour and ends crisp.

Spectacular. The Flying Dutchman is a fantastic spot for cocktails in a unique, historic atmosphere. I particularly love the intimate interior and the welcoming staff—so much so that I found it hard to leave three nights in a row. I highly recommend for a one of a kind, world class cocktail experience.

Unfortunately, this club didn’t live up to the hype. I was really looking forward to checking it out, but left pretty disappointed. The sound system was average, and while the music was decent, it wasn’t the hard techno I expected from a place that calls itself a “techno bunker.” The crowd was mostly guys, and a few were openly trying to sell stuff on the dance floor, which killed the vibe for me. Drinks were on the cheaper side (€26 for 2 beers and 2 G&Ts), but the quality was just bad — the worst tequila I’ve ever had, definitely some budget brand. The club itself has potential — dark interior, cool lighting on the stage — but nothing that really stood out. I was hoping to rave until the early morning, but ended up leaving by 2am feeling bored and let down.

Where to begin. Went here for the first time to see Armand Van Helden. I was excited, but also aware it was sold out. The biggest issue with this club is it’s flow. It filters people through small corridors resulting in very tight and uncomfortable feelings. You come to dance, but you can barely move or breathe. You have so many people smashed next to you due to pour layout of the facility. The heat in the club was unbearable. So hot, and it was October. I have been to countless clubs and there is a certain level of acceptance for heat, but this was criminal. If you wanted to get fresh air, you can head back upstairs to a tiny area filled with no room to move. Just getting back to the top took a solid 5 minutes, once again due to the terrible design of this club. I honestly can’t image if there were a fire in the club, getting out is almost impossible. Men’s urinals we’re a joke. A tiny door that fit 8 people with piss everywhere. Staff was very nice but security guards in the clubs were a bit agressive. I would never return unless it was an amazing dj. The vibe of this club is trash for cash. Pack the people in like cattle and take their money.

Good club. The music was not my type but it was a nice tecno the crowd was really friendly I made a few friends. The interior space is dark which is good for an EDM club. The toilets were being cleaned regularly which is a big plus for a night club. The only downside was the lack of lasers.

Got invitation from one of the friend, I was visited this club with my group of friends, 12 people, very nice place. A lot bad comments about security and staff, seems like is fake reviews , a lot of them so friendly and very cool people, nice talk with them. Also had a talk with female security she was nice, no rude at all. I think is the best techno club in Amsterdam! Highly recommended! For sure will back again!

One bartender gives out water opened and without a lid "because it’s policy". Interestingly he’s the only bartender there who does that and will not let you see him open the bottles either. Drink at your own risk.

Shelter gives you a great experience of authentic Techno in a very safe and joyful atmosphere. These guys take music and safety of human beings very serious. Queer friendly, thank you guys, I had a great night with you 💓

Nice club underground. went for Halloween and had a good experience, chill vibes and people dancing everywhere. More on the expensive side but would return. Pros:lots of seating available, multiple music rooms, lockers and friendly staff Cons: hot inside, poor layout, the bar staff rip the lides of the water bottles

Gave us free snacks upon arrival, a bit strange flavours but definitely tasted homemade and enjoyed. Cocktails are €14-€20 ish. All very unique. The 3 servers were all very lovely and the bartender was working hard. Great dark and cozy atmosphere however quite close to other tables. Gave us water without asking and yummy free sweets with the bill. All in all lovely.

I had an incredible time here! The service was truly exceptional from the moment we walked in. Our server, (nice shirt guy), was super knowledgeable and made a fantastic recommendation for a drink based on what I usually like. The atmosphere was lively, great music, loved the music choices. We had a short day in Amsterdam on what may have been the busiest the city has ever been- during sail 2025, which had not happened for 10 years. It was chaotic and crowded, but this cafe was a welcome bit of solice. Nice little outdoor tables, good beer selection, and the sausage with bread and kraut was the tasty snack I didn't know I needed. This cafe was absolutely the highlight of our day in Amsterdam.

Great experience! Bartender and service we're out of this world, even when busy. Would suggest this bar for the real feel of an Amsterdam brown bar experience, did I mention the food? Everydish we tried was really good, especially the smoked sausage with the pickanaise sauce. I would give it ten stars if I could. Got a handshake and a thank you for coming in.

It’s located on one of the most beautiful corners in Amsterdam. The place gets busy quickly, so it can be hard to find a seat. It’s quite small inside with limited seating. Service was okay.

Incredible brown cafe with great espresso and a great selection of good local beers on rotation. Bike rack nearby and the best service in the city, Stefan was tending bar and went very out of his way to be welcoming and helpful.

This place is like a small time capsule. Everything about this bar is looked after, and the vibes are super cozy for an evening drink, both inside and outside in the terras. It’s definitely one of the better and certainly one of the coziest bars in jordaan

We visited on Saturday so it was very busy and couldn’t sit outside which was ok. It can be very loud inside but again, nothing we can complain about when people are having a good time! We stopped for a drink and some Bitterballen. A few drinks on the menu were no longer available so we had to ask for alternatives which we were told were not on the menu but the staff were great with letting us know the options. Only criticism is that is isn’t clear which toilets are male or female or if they are mixed so we took our chances.

Despite looking packed from the street, there's usually seating inside. Outdoor tables offer better Amsterdam views if that's your priority. Staff moved efficiently despite the crowds. We tried the vegetarian bitterballen - freshly fried, crispy, and served within 10 minutes. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout. Perfect for a quick, authentic Dutch snack without the tourist trap experience.

Just stopped in for a beer on the way home as it's right down the street from our VRBO. It was hopping outside, but we were able to get a seat inside and the vibe was awesome. Will probably be back during our stay

Very historic vibes in this place. We stopped in for drinks. Staff did not like us moving chairs around so we had our kids sit at one and we took another. The patio was great for people watching and we saw it was bumping the next day when we walked by again.

My husband and I had a couple of amazing nights at Hoppe! The Bitterballen is absolutely incredible (tip: break it open first and let it cool down a bit before eating). We were told to try the meatballs but we didn't have time. We were having so much fun with the staff and the locals that by the time we realized we were hungry, the kitchen had already been closed for a long time, haha! Serves us right. We will be back when we return to Amsterdam and we will be trying the meatballs, and will of course be getting the Bitterballen again. Thank you to everyone we met on our vacation, you truly made it so much fun for us both!

Service is not quite good for tourists. You buy something the coffee there and a cake from another place and the workers front to all others visitors prohibit to eat your food. That’s totally insane. You must to be loyal to all customers. I think you should revisit your policy about that. 1/5

Two weeks ago, my partner and I visited your bar with high expectations, hoping for a refined cocktail experience in what we had heard was one of Amsterdam’s top-rated spots. We were initially pleased to be seated at a lovely table by the window — unfortunately, everything positive ended there. We found the cocktail menu disappointingly limited, with a noticeable lack of variety. The majority of the drinks featured Bacardi-based spirits, which felt more like a branding push than a curated selection for discerning guests. At €20 per cocktail, we expected a sophisticated and balanced drink — instead, they were underwhelming and noticeably lacking in alcohol content. To make matters worse, the attitude of the staff left much to be desired. The bartenders and servers came across as cocky and self-satisfied, seemingly more interested in projecting an image than delivering genuine hospitality. For a bar that markets itself as high-end, the service felt amateur and inattentive, far from the five-star experience one would expect. All in all, it was a disappointing evening that did not justify the price or the reputation. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as it reflects a gap between your brand image and the actual guest experience.

Beautiful space. Excellent team running the place. Posh, elegant atmosphere. Great music. Highly recommended. I did not enjoy the Italian red wine by the glass. The nose and taste were both odd. The other wines by the glass were great.

The service is great. The signature cocktails, which are apparently in partnership with a "fragrance house" from the US (so much so that you can not ask for changes to them) are hit and miss. The two people I was with had decent coktails but my two sognature cocktails felt both very very underpowered. They both tasted like mocktails, the spirits in them were not detectable at all. I was hoping for more at a price of around 20 euro per cocktail. In the end what both me and my company enjoyed more was the bar's interpretation of classic cokctails (not on the menu) rather than their signature ones. I had a great old fashioned and a friend a very good negroni, both tasting different and better then the what we were used to.

We were so glad the Concierge was able to accomodate our two tables of 4 reservation and place us at a larger table. The drink menu and their particular take on cocktails was ideal. Always a good problem when there are four or five cocktails you juat cant decide on which.

Quick queue and easy way to enter the festival. There is 3 différents stages and it was enaugh room for everyone to dance and enjoy. The atmosphere was excellent, we had a very good day and night. Everything is well organize, the toilets were clean and accessible without queuing long which is the best when you are in festival. We will be back for sure 🪩 Also, the subway station is only 15min walk away.

Went for Summer Of Love Festival and had a great time. Three different stages, numerous waterholes, not to much queuing for the rather clean lavatories. Food stall with decent options & prices.

Enclosed venue with covered stages and one open-air stage. The area is covered with beach sand, giving it a very summery and beachy vibe. The decoration is excellent, and there is always some kind of show while the DJs play. I have been there three times, and the last time there was a fire show. They always bring out large light-up balloons at the end. In addition to drinks, they also offer food and fruit.

Easy access by public transport. Love Thuishaven!! Super cute location!

We went here for DnB festival Liquicity. Easy to navigate area, lot’s of places to get a drink or some good. Not a lot of grass or sand, so also fine when it is raining.

It's a very cool venue in Amsterdam. 4 stages, good music. The beer is cheaper than water, which is not okay, but I could recommend it anyway.

Went there for ADE 2025, my friends and I had the worst party of our life. The staff, including the manger, was very unpolite and arrogant. They monetize anything they can and when the music was over they let us out in the pouring rain stuck in between what they call stages. We had to wait outside, packed together like sheep, just to get to the lockers and grab our jackets. Of course, we got soaked — and it was only 11:30 p.m and the night ruïnes. On a side note, during ADE everyone in the city try to profit from you, from the taxis to the venues. It is just not worth it!

Wish we found this place on day one of our trip and not our last day. The people working there are a riot. Probably because they’ve had more to drink than you. Love that they let you try different flavors. Everything we had was delicious: apple, ginger, chocolate, and the monastique!

A gem in Amsterdam. Every time I’ve been here there’s been lots of people. There’s not a lot of place inside but they have a row of tables in the alley outside so weather permitting it’s no problem finding a spot. The staff is always super helpful especially with picking a good jenever. They also have a respectable beer selection both on tap and bottle.

Be early and be patient and you will enjoy a centuries old Amsterdam drinking experience. They now have a few tables across from the entrance but plan on doing what everyone else does, stand for a few moments and enjoy a fabulous brandewijn, jenever, and/or draught beer. Later in the day and on weekends this place can be very crowded, but your patience and courtesy with others will be rewarded with a great experience.

I’ve been to Wynand Fockink several times — probably five by now — and I’ve always loved their unique atmosphere and incredible liqueurs. They’re truly one of a kind, and every visit used to be a highlight for me. However, during my last visit with colleagues who had never been there before, the experience was less pleasant. When they asked the staff for a recommendation — something special to try — the reply was rather rude: “Everything here is special, have you seen where you are?” It felt unnecessary and left a bad impression. It’s such a wonderful and historic place, and the drinks are still absolutely amazing, but I really hope the staff could be a bit more welcoming — especially to first-time visitors who come with genuine curiosity and respect for this iconic spot.

a handsome Dutch man took me here on a date once and although we no longer see one another, I can’t thank him enough for introducing me to this place. So fun, such an experience… and obviously have been back several times since that date!

Soulful, fun, and full of good vibes I went to Bret Bar during a 2-day event, and it was absolutely amazing. The energy was perfect — great music to dance your soul out, but also space to chill outside, grab food, and just enjoy the vibe. The whole setup felt thoughtful and welcoming. The Awareness team was around the whole time, super friendly and supportive, which really added to the safe and relaxed atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

We were at Bret during ADE. It's a really cool venue, the staff was friendly, and the music was good. BUT the place was way too crowded for our event; you couldn't dance at all. This created an aggressive atmosphere among the guests. As I later saw on Instagram, it was the same at other parties. I know making money is the priority, but next time, let in 50 fewer people.

This comment is forthwith night club, it was over sold crowded long queue for toilet not enough space to dance because many people inside for a small space, same amount outside. The music is not good bad quality speakers and it felt so not intimate.

Cool place curiously furnished especially the wrecked car outside. The inside is quite small, giving a nice vibe with red lights, rustic tables and some green here and there. The food menu's not translated but we managed to order two tasty Hamburgers and for the beers we relied on the staff which was very open and friendly. We spent roughly 45 Euros in total, which is ok.

Got kicked and harassed for my “gay dances,” and instead of protecting me, security and management sided with the aggressor. The manager told me if I “don’t fit the vibe,” I should dance somewhere else. Unsafe and absolutely not queer-friendly.

worst money I‘ve ever spent. they let us wait 20 minutes for a 6m queue in the rain, although we had tickets. and although the tickets were expensive (30€!), inside was completely packed to the point where you could not move. apparently, the 30€ also weren’t enough to pay for bathroom usage, so peeing once cost another 1,5€. the miniscule locker was also insanely overpriced with 8,5€. incredibly greedy, which kills the mood as soon as you get there. people were also vaping and smoking weed inside, although this was officially not allowed nobody did anything to stop it. the music was mediocre at best. if you go upstairs to avoid getting crushed by the crowd, the sound is horrible. if the police is reading this, they also didn’t check ID.

Very bad experience. I went there with some colleagues. I made an order for 2 persons, but they did not charge the right amount, they charged the double. When I realized after I have paid, I asked for a refund. They refused it. They just proposed to bring food or an other drink. I find this practice terrible, this is not customer friendly and not honnest at all. I would not recommend this place

I came all the way from Belgium for the Stephan Bodzin gig and overall it was a nice 1st time experience visiting 'The Marktkantine'. This is a well managed club, there was strict Covid Pass control at the entrance (which I highly support) and a strip-search. The atmosphere in the club felt very safe due to all the applied safety measures. I especially liked the different levels in the venue so you can either enjoy a gig closely from the pit or have a more relaxed stand on the balcony. Impressive soundsystem and sparse but efficiently used light gear. The only downside of the Stephan Bodzin gig was the overwhelming amount of decibels produced and noticeable distortion at times. i would surely not recommend standing in the pit or even further back without ear protection. Aside from this small negative, a highly recommendable club (see short impression video Stephan Bodzin gig).

I have visited this club for the first time 2 years ago. Now it has become a routine of ours. Whenever in Amsterdam, we go to de marktkantine. Music is so good you could stay there forever.

Amazing rave spot with great energy and freedom Lofi Amsterdam is one of the best places for a proper rave experience. The crowd is always a nice mix of all ages, and the staff are super friendly, which really adds to the welcoming vibe. The venue is huge, so you’ve got the freedom to hang back and chill or get up close to the stages and fully dive into the music. They consistently book great DJs, and the vibe is always on point. Can’t recommend it enough for a solid night out!

It’s a very cool and laid back venue. It’s not massive and somewhere cozy. I would have liked to have the stage a mid more in the center as it feels it’s more placed on the right side of the venue. Lofi has good lines up too!

The place which our friend and colleague recommended to visit. But this place became the biggest disappointment in whole Amsterdam. If you are looking for nice atmosphere and good music, with positive vibe - it is not about that place. We have checked list of dj for the one week in advance and bought tickets in advance. After staying in the line - we didn’t pass face control, and the reason was - we were not able to name all dj by the names, also you should be prepared and know their biographies, names of their children, and dogs. The most stupid question which we received - how do we treat each other inside? Sorry, this is the most stupid and dump question which you can give to two nice intelligent girls. I think the real reason were - we didn’t speak dutch and it was understandable from the far that we arrived from another country, and were looked differently from all informal people around. I think the guardian didn’t like my sister from the far distance, as her jacket was to much elegant and too much expensive, and he was just so uncomfortable and unconfined that decided to act like a moron. So all drugged and pumped with alcohol people were able to entered but two simple girls without tattoos and piercings- no!!! The really honest advice - never go to this place, it is not for intelligent and nice people. In Amsterdam - there are bunch of places with good music and better attitude. When I tried to put one star - than program blocked me, so apparently you are not able to express honest opinion about this place and it should be only high mark, this is the way how they get 4.5 stars

Im sorry guys but the club is awful. I talked to them really nice but the security person at the entrance, the bald one, called me an idiot and a moron for absolutley no reason at all…. I cannot belive my eyes .. He told me to get the f.. out even tho I was alredy outside, in rain so that is also a verbal assault.To be clear I just went to him to ask a really simple question : If there is any chance to buy another ticket, thats all I asked nicely.. Amsterdam is awesome but Dutch people are very very rude for no reason . Also the boss there a girl name Sarah I think, asked me for 500 Euro to let me in … so you can tell from this how is that club

Amazing place, but that was a lot because of the party and the people that actually work for Lofi. I think the place lacks a soul, so could just as easily attract a less nice crowd. The security guards show that, some of them of course nice as always, but some real &@&# that just completely destroy the vibe. Impatient, rude and sometimes downright abusive. As any club, security is part of the experience, if you're not critical when picking them, you don't care about the experience and you're simply not a great club.

Got to see Major Lazer live, great experience, fast que at entrance. Maybe a bit too hot and humid inside, but perhaps that's just my personal trouble.
