Cannery
Food products supplier
Nestled in the heart of Lisbon's Baixa district, Conserveira de Lisboa is a charming family-owned grocery store that has been delighting visitors since 1930. This iconic shop specializes in beautifully packaged canned seafood, particularly its renowned sardines and tuna. As you step inside, you'll be transported back to the delightful ambiance of the 1930s, with colorful tins lining every wall and whimsical stuffed sardines hanging from the ceiling—perfect for capturing children's imaginations.
A canned fish shop that opened in 1930 and has a wide variety of canned fish! If you don‘t know what to choose, you can ask the staff to introduce and recommend! Canned food is quite delicious! The store is small, so the stay time is very short. You can quickly line up in your itinerary, buy some cans or take some photos, which is a place you can skip.
Antony T — Google review
A great place to buy souvenirs and canned fish. The staff members were nice; they would introduce the products to customers. It’s pretty crowded as many people shop there.
Karen C — Google review
I must give it five even six stars! Absolutely the best canned product stores in Lisbon! Eleven years ago, I visited here and bought several types of cans including sardines, moules, cavala, etc. They use vintage, distinctive paper and carefully tied ropes to wrap gifts, making both giving and receiving a joyful experience. This September, I visited Lisbon again, and also visited the store. The store maintains a consistently vintage and minimalist atmosphere just like eleven years ago. The products, the packaging as always. I really really recommend every tourist come here and bring the most wonderful gifts for yourself and your friends when you come to Lisbon!
Chris K — Google review
The shopping experience was not exactly smooth because the shop provides zero product translations and when asked about the information of different fish cans the owner answered super briefly and you would feel pressured to find out on your own and decide as soon as possible.
Kero C — Google review
Go here if you want to bring back some tinned fish back home whether as a gift or for yourself. They have the best prices for the quality that you can get (2-5 euros each depending on the variety. They got sardines, tuna, cod, anchovies and more! Besides grocery stores, everywhere else has insane prices. The staff are friendly here and will explain to you the varieties. Be ready for a line up though!
Mark C — Google review
Haven't tried the fish yet, but I liked that it felt more authentic than others in the area. Nothing flashy inside the small shop. The men that worked there weren't particularly chatty, but I liked that it was a quick transaction.
Erica T — Google review
So glad we chanced upon this place. Bought a few cans of sardines. One could tell the two gentlemen in the store took pride in their shop and wrapped each order with care.
Jasmine — Google review
My husband loved visiting this store. You can tell they have been around for a long time and for a reason. They started canning seafood in Lisbon. Very affordable with cute packaging. They also pack well for transport. We saw it in a Somebody Feed Phil episode & since we Filipinos love sardines too, we needed take some home to enjoy in CH. The sardines are bigger than what we are used to but it’s canned fresh which is the most important part. A great thing to take home from Portugal if you have the weight allowance. The variety is phenomenal.

Sol e Pesca is a unique and trendy bar-cafe located in the heart of Lisbon's Cais do Sodre clubbing district. Once a fishermen's hardware store, it has been transformed into a popular spot by owner Henrique Vaz Pato. The decor still reflects the area's seafaring tradition with fishing equipment on display. The menu offers a variety of canned seafood, including tuna and sardines, which are praised for their taste and sold in colorful retro packaging.
Must-visit famous Lisbon spot. Fabulous hidden gem. Staff are wonderful and clearly love sharing their passion for the tinned fish they serve so beautifully and the lovely local drinks they have on offer. No wonder Bourdain loved it so much.
Sanford M — Google review
Super nice canned food shop, loved the concept. On the menu you can choose between a variety of canned fish (I.e. the classic sardine, the mackerel, the tuna and cod) which are served with some bread or other condiments. Strange place to find on the pink street as it seems a little bit more alternative. I also really liked their own beer. Service was not very attentive.
Andrea M — Google review
We came here following a recommendation and we do love the authenticity of the place, surrounded by a lot of fancy places. The food was really delicious, you can try all sorts of sardines and other specialties from their menu, but it is more a light meal than a proper dinner. The wine (vinho verde) was a lovely surprise.
Tiziana — Google review
Great spot for a variety of tinned seafood. Pink street is kind of a gross tourist trap w shitty restaurants and clubs, but this place is a gem. Good service, simple yet flavorful menu, and affordable. Anyone reviewing that they got food poisoning within 24 hours doesn’t understand how that works. The other negative reviews are from people that probably belong somewhere else on pink street.
A M — Google review
Very cute place on the Pink street. It was so cool to eat fish from the disposed cans and bring vale to buy the ones we liked to have them at home too. Highly recommend it! We also had an amazing performance from a Dragqueen! Loved it!
Martina B — Google review
The octopus 🦑 salad is great! Feels like a real salad and worth the price. I got a natural lemonade which you mix yourself with the bottled water and syrup they give you. It's affordable which is a plus. The pink street can be busy and loud but it's not bad. Prices are a lot more affordable then I'd expect based on the location and how touristy the stripe can be.
Duane B — Google review
This is a great place to sample classic Portuguese tinned fish. The Sardines with Port were our favorite! Don’t forget to get a few tins to go!
Lara G — Google review
Such a nice and authentic place. The fish was delicious, the service friendly and the atmosphere great. It’s a super old school fishing bar. I can absolutely recommend it.

Portuguese restaurant
Restaurant
Bacalhau, a Portuguese salt cod dish, is a national favorite and can be found in various forms across Lisbon. The fish is slowly cooked in olive oil to maintain its succulence and flavor. With over 80 different varieties of cod available off the coast, it can be prepared in numerous ways such as Bacalhau a Bras, Bacalhau a Gomes de Sa, Bacalhau com Natas, and pataniscas.
Nice service, positive faces. We went 2 times during our Lisbon trip. Delicious food, good wine and reasonable prices. Thanks and hello to my beautiful lady waitress (sorry I forgot her name)
Oznur G — Google review
Very friendly local environment, good food, reasonably priced, came here 3 times in 5 days just to try out all their famous dishes... highly recommended! My Recommendation: Bacalhau in cream sauce Portueguese steak Grilled octopus Grilled Bacalhau - it's a shame that they overcooked the cod 😭 4 star for food for this reason...
Ng V — Google review
Visit if you want Portuguese food :) I ordered [Alentejana Soup], which was very unique interesting soup with soaked bread and egg. [Piri-piri Chicken] tasted as expected and [Lagareiro Grilled Codfish] was my first grilled fish in Lisbon, which was a great success! All paired well with green wine :) super recommend
Hanna B — Google review
The food was good Good to try local food It’s usually a problem when the recipes are local for tourist to be sure what they order (menu with photos could help) since part of the personnel didn’t speak English We sat outside so the service was slower but ok

We found this Restaurant via Google and the food was really delicious 😍🤩also the Service was outstanding friendly and we also had a really nice bottle of vino verde 🥂the price is very fair! - all in all a 10/10 recommendation!

First meal in Lisboa and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Friendly service.
Cindy — Google review
Tucked away in the charming streets of Lisbon, Restaurante Bacalhau offered one of the most genuine and memorable meals we’ve had in Portugal. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with the tables full and a warm evening breeze adding to the charm of dining outdoors. We started with a comforting carrot soup, simple yet delicious, followed by warm slices of rustic bread that paired beautifully with the house olive oil. The chilled white wine was crisp, refreshing, and just perfect for a summer night in Lisbon. For mains, the star of the evening was of course the traditional Bacalhau à Brás – creamy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with a signature black olive, just the way locals love it. We also tried a hearty beef dish with egg and vegetables basically a steak in Portuguese 🇵🇹 style which was a little disappointment , the quality of beef was a beef fillet rather than a steak so it was kind of a wrong choice. Other than that all other food was good The waiter was incredibly friendly and helpful, patiently explaining each dish and ensuring we were comfortable throughout. The overall vibe was relaxed and buzzing, ideal for both food and drinks. If you’re looking for a spot that serves real Portuguese flavours in a laid-back and authentic setting, Restaurante Bacalhau is a must. We left with full hearts, happy taste buds, and a strong desire to come back.

Experience the delightful Caldo Verde, a traditional Portuguese soup, while enjoying a captivating fado evening. The dish offers a perfect balance of quality and affordability, making it an excellent choice for those seeking an authentic culinary experience.
Wonderful fado evening. Good food price & quality
Hugo M — Google review
I've been here a few times and the my last visit left a sour taste in my mouth. The food is mediocre at best and the wine list is overpriced. They up sell the wine and then bring you the same bottle as their house wine with a 10€ markup. Their food is large portions, but it doesn't make up for it being mediocre. The Fado music that they play lasts a few minutes every 20-30 minutes. It's annoying because you are there for an hour and they will perform for about 6-10 minutes within that hour. I would highly recommend staying away from this place. After living in Lisbon and experiencing other places, this is one I'll never go back.
Evan T — Google review
Do not go here. We were lured in off the street from a man outside who promised a free fado show. The food we ordered was terrible. Additionally when we saw the bill, we found that they had charged us a 10 euro performance fee because we had apparently not order enough food per person. On top of that fee, there was a 3 euro cover charge per person as well. The fado singers were lovely but it is absolutely not worth it to have to deal with this restaurant to hear them perform. Go somewhere else.
JP T — Google review
This place is a scam!! Don't waste your time or money. We got pulled off the street by an employee claiming there was a free fado show, and that we only had to pay for food. We weren't motivated enough to look for another place so we went inside. We ordered two bottles of wine for 4 people and then soups and some other appetizers. After we had received the wine, the server informed us that there was a 10 euro performance fee if you didn't order food, and that our soups and appetizers didn't count as food. We decided to just suck it up and pay the fee, but were disappointed that we had been caught in a tourist trap. Finally, the music started late and they only performed 3 songs before taking a long break. When the food arrived, it was mostly terrible. I received the wrong soup, and my friend's seafood soup was nothing more than broth and bones with absolutely no meat. They were out of the ham dish that another friend ordered, so he asked for cheese instead with our bread. The cheese did not come sliced, but in a large chunk with the sticker still on it. When we got the bill, they had double charged for a sparkling water (which we had to ask for twice), and on top of the 10 euro fee there was also a 3 euro cover charge for each of us. Overall, a total rip off.

Bad food, strange staff
Denisa S — Google review
(Translated by Google) Fado is beautiful here, the atmosphere truly engaging. The food is very good, especially the octopus. The only strange thing, but almost everywhere here in Lisbon, is that water costs a lot and they bring it to you in tiny 25cl bottles... You just need to know! (Original) Il Fado è bellissimo qui, l'atmosfera veramente coinvolgente. Si mangia molto bene, soprattutto il polipo. L'unica cosa strana, ma un po' ovunque qui a Lisbona, è che l'acqua costa tantissimo e te la portano in bottiglie minuscole da 25cl... Basta saperlo!

Nestled in the vibrant Mercado da Ribeira, Time Out Market is a haven for food enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable culinary experience. This unique market stands out as the first of its kind globally, where every dish has been meticulously curated to ensure only the finest flavors are showcased. Here, you can indulge in iconic Portuguese delights like codfish and delectable custard tarts while also exploring a diverse array of international cuisines—from mouthwatering burgers to savory pizzas and comforting soups.
Food was delicious! I enjoyed the jungle curry with prawns from Asian Lab and the flavours were rich and the colour so vibrant. The staff were very friendly for a quick service encounter and very accommodating when I returned to request take-out containers. My aunt ordered a margarita pizza that she really enjoyed (classic thin crust Italian style with minimal toppings, quality ingredients, and great flavor). My mom ordered the seafood platter from one of the vendors, but could not recall which one. We all loved the crisp sautéed veggies served with her fresh fish. We also enjoyed Gelato from the only gelato shop in the food haul. They gelato shop even offered samples, which we enthusiastically took advantage of before deciding on flavour choices. The atmosphere was lively and loud, which aligns with the expectations one might have for a food haul. Even if you prefer a quieter dining experience, I would still reccomend coming here and ordering food as take out and enjoy a picnic by the water. I thought this was a great option for my family since we all enjoy different cuisines and this allowed us each to enjoy our preferred meal while still dining together. A quick note for those hoping to dine on the terrace: all food must be in a takeout container, as plates/trays/real cutlery are not allowed outside. A security guard stopped me when I went to sit outside and advised that this was not allowed.

Time Out Market Lisbon , A Fun and Flavorful Experience What a great place to hang out! The Time Out Market Lisbon is full of energy and packed with food options perfect for anyone who loves to eat, drink, and explore new flavors. I loved how the market is divided between traditional Portuguese cuisine and international dishes, including some creative twists like a shrimp burger and even an octopus “hot dog” (yes, with tentacles instead of meat!). It’s a fun spot to taste a bit of everything from fine dining plates to casual bites all in one lively space. It’s also a great place to grab a beer or a glass of wine, sit at one of the cafeteria-style communal tables, and soak in the atmosphere. The market stays open late (around midnight), and on some nights, there’s even live music, which adds to the fun vibe. After a long flight, this was the perfect place to start my trip relaxed, delicious, and full of local flavor. Don’t miss the desserts, especially the pastel de nata nice and warm, creamy, and absolutely my favorite treat there. Overall, Time Out Market Lisbon is a must visit whether you’re looking for a casual meal, a late night drink, or just a place to experience Lisbon’s amazing food scene all under one roof.
NV — Google review
The food is generally good here, but nothing too spectacular. I'd say it's nice since if you're with a group, everyone can get something different from all of the stalls. Nothing really stood out among the food we got. However, I really enjoyed the tiramisu we got from one of the stalls. Service is fast and place is quite clean.
Maezel C — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Time Out Market - Great Vibe, Disappointing Execution Time Out Market in Lisbon is, without a doubt, a fantastic experience from an atmospheric standpoint. When you first walk in, the buzz is infectious. The high ceilings, the sprawling communal tables, and the sheer variety of stalls all contribute to a vibrant, energetic, and undeniably cool scene. It's perfectly located, the place is clean, and the concept of having so many famous Portuguese chefs and eateries under one roof is brilliant. You can easily spend an hour just soaking up the noise and energy, and for that alone, it earns two of its three stars. However, the moment the food hits your table, the experience takes a sharp dive. My main critique is that while the promise of world-class food is there, the reality is a rushed, indifferent execution. Every dish we ordered—from a famous shellfish vendor to a traditional prego sandwich—felt like it had been thrown together without any love or attention to detail. It seems the high volume of customers has turned what should be a culinary showcase into an impersonal assembly line. The fish was slightly dry and poorly seasoned, the plating was sloppy (garnish just dropped haphazardly), and the fries were lukewarm, tasting like they’d been sitting for ten minutes before being bagged up. There was a palpable sense of, "Get it out, move the line." This market feels like an exceptional idea that sacrifices quality at the altar of efficiency and tourist foot traffic. Lisbon is one of the world's great food cities, and you owe it to yourself to experience the real passion that Portuguese chefs put into their work. If you are looking for a quick beer and to enjoy the lively environment, this is fine, but if you’re searching for a memorable meal, skip the queues here. Just a few steps away, in the Alfama or Cais do Sodré neighbourhoods, you will find countless better, more authentic, and more lovingly prepared options at similar (or often better) prices. Save your appetite and your Euros for one of the genuinely excellent, smaller, family-run restaurants Lisbon has to offer. This is a tourist trap disguised as a foodie destination.

Time Out Market Lisbon – Lively, Vibrant, and Absolutely Unmissable The Time Out Market Lisbon was exactly what we expected — and perhaps even better. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a cheerful, bustling atmosphere: countless food stalls, every type of cuisine imaginable, endless choices of dishes, drinks, and tempting desserts. Finding a table can be challenging, but it is absolutely worth waiting for, because the energy of the place is unmatched. In the evenings, the mood becomes even more exciting, and there is often dancing, which makes the experience truly special. It’s no surprise that this is considered the world’s first and best communal dining market — you simply can’t visit Lisbon without stopping by. I loved every moment of it and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the vibrant, modern, and delicious side of the city.

Time Out Market is an absolute must-visit for any culinary enthusiast. This vibrant venue successfully brings together the best of Lisbon's dining scene under one stunning roof. It’s an energetic and bustling place that perfectly captures the city's lively spirit. We had the opportunity to try different food from several vendors, and every single dish we sampled was superb. The quality and innovation on display are truly world-class, whether you're craving fresh seafood, traditional Portuguese treats, or international cuisine. It’s a fantastic way to experience top-tier local chefs and diverse flavors without visiting multiple locations. The selection of food and drinks is massive, ensuring there is something to satisfy every palate. This market isn't just a place to eat; it's a dynamic, social, and delicious experience. The atmosphere is electric, and the food quality is consistently high.

Timeout is one of the must-see places in Lisbon, where you can taste some of the best dishes in the city. Make no mistake, I am talking everything from traditional to modern cuisine: seafood, fish, different types of meat, pastas, you name it. During peak hours and on weekends it gets extremely crowded, but it’s still absolutely worth it. Highly recommended to foodies!!
Kalyoner — Google review
I visited this place almost 4-5x during my 1 week stay in Lisbon! Sure it’s touristy, but it’s a great way to try out a good variety of quality food from the different stores for comparable prices VS visiting individual restaurants outside in my opinion. I also really enjoyed seeing the food samples displayed so I know what I’m getting especially since I’m not all that familiar with the local food I had so much fun challenging myself to try something new during each visit. Else, look around you and ask what others are having for some inspiration! I love the atmosphere and environment too - the tables are big and sturdy, the chairs are really comfortable, and there are cleaners readily available for a quicker turnaround too!

This popular pork fillet sandwich is known for its simple yet delicious taste, with the standout feature being the sauce in which the meat is marinated and sautéed. The restaurant, located just a short walk from Prado restaurant, serves some of the best pork sandwiches in town and is a favorite spot for those seeking authentic Portuguese snacks.
While researching I came across this place and it certainly did not disappoint. We weren’t extremely hungry so we just ordered one Bifana and one chocolate mousse. Around 5 pm was when we went and there was a very small line. I’d recommend going in between meal times to take advantage of the shorter wait times. It completely lived up to my expectations, and I would definitely return. The bifana itself had perfect chewy bread and with the meat it was heaven. The chocolate mousse was also delicious, and it was super light but not too sweet. I would definitely return!

Following the review from some of the YouTubers and we gave it a tried. For $3, I can say this can be one of the best, reasonable price for lunch. Nothing special about the pork meat but the bun and the sauce was 🤤 delicious. This is a place you should visit if you don't want to spend too much for lunch and have more time to explore the area around. Thank you

Great meal or snack mid day. They were super fast, kind with tourists and we enjoyed that we were able to have a good Portuguese food on the go. Took 10 minutes from entering the line to getting our bifanas (the line had about 15 people in it), as there’s a small courtyard you can sit in, although it can be busy

Cash only place The bifanas here are very tasty! They're more flavorful and you can really taste the wine and spices. The pork is less tender than other places but it's still very good. The bread can be a bit too floury. There can be a huge line-up so if you see a short line-up, goooo. The Patanisca de Bacalhau (fish fillet sandwich) is a cold fish fillet sandwich which is a bit odd, but the fish is tasty. I wouldn't say get that unless you really wanted to try it. This place also has Super Bock on tap! You can get a big or small size, and the small size is perfect for me for a lunch drink. Be sure to give this place a try if you're getting bifanas!

Small takeout place for a Portuguese specialty, the Bifansa (stewed pork sandwich). Only 3 euros for the regular sandwich or 5 with cheese. Great portion size and definitely fantastic value at this price point. Highly recommend for a quick bite to eat. You can also add some chili oil and mustard. The bun was nice and soft too. Would definitely get it again!

Long queue, goes quite quick though, €3 for a basic bufana that is quite filling and hot too. Ordered and served in about 2/3 minutes which was great. Definitely recommend adding on the mustard on the side, just takes it to another level, pork is tender and pairs well with the bread. Would gladly come back again and again.

It’s tasty and flavourful though I don’t think the spicy oil is spicy as all the other comments said🤣just €3 for a pork burger feel like nth else I could asked for haha! Would love to try their chocolate mousse if I am not that full!

Been meaning to try a Bifana in Lisbon and this exceeded all expectations. Bread was super soft and meat, tender and juicy! One of my favourite spots in the city. Wanted to have more. Be mindful as it's cash only!

Loja das Conservas Petiscos is a charming spot where you can indulge in an array of award-winning Conservas. The restaurant offers a delightful experience, serving your chosen conservas with bread, olives, salad, and wine. Visitors are encouraged to purchase cans to enjoy at home. Guests have praised the fresh and delicious fish dishes as well as the attentive service provided by the friendly staff.
This was the first place I ate at upon arriving in Portugal, and it absolutely set the bar sky high. The food was incredible, very fresh and flavorful. Every dish recommended to us was spot on. But what really made this experience stand out was the service. Bishu was AMAZING- so kind, and attentive. He went above and beyond in the little ways that matter, like bringing an extra chair just for our bags without us even asking (we were a table of 3). It’s small details like that that made us feel truly taken care of. If you’re in Portugal, do not miss this spot and ask for Bishu!

We went there for drinks and snack and we got Beers with a small bowl of Olives. The olives was nice and the Beer was the Imperial from Portugal, which is delicious. Staff are nice. Prices are also affordable. It may not be the best/fanciest option, but it’s nice to visit if you want to spare some time for drinks.

Great restaurant with great prices and great food! What more can you ask for? Nothing fancy here, just your regular traditional Portuguese restaurant. We had the omelette, grilled peppers and octopus salad and it was very tasty. The bread was warm and tender.

Such a wonderful little find as we were looking for ATM . The staff are so lovely and polite. The food was outstanding . The chargrilled chorizo cooked at your table and an added touch of decadence with the small squid … I have tasted squid in many places but it was so beautifully soft and tasty. The Sangria was plentiful and the cherry wine to finish the meal was perfect. Thank you for making our first night in Lisbon perfect Obligado Annie and Stu From Wales , UK

First time here in Lisbon and people say that you have to have some petiscos or you haven’t been to Portugal yet. And yup, here I came. Accidentally passing by the spot as the famous Timeout Market was crazily packed, so I couldn’t wait any longer for foods! Amazingly tasty Sardines and fresh made codfish croquettes. And I got to order the seafood rice from next door resto too! They brought it for me :-) everything was super delicious 🤤. And the service was very friendly, Asad was super!! The bathroom was very clean. And you get to enjoy a bit of view of people walking by going for the clubs near by :-) The place for Petiscos to be!!! 🌟

The service is very friendly and nice. The place is beautiful, you can sit protected from the sun in the shadows. The prices are very good as well. Bishu is a very very friendly and nice waiter! Thank you so much! :) We also liked the music very much.

Piri-Piri chicken is a popular grilled dish in Portugal, known for its distinctive chili glaze. It can be found in many restaurants and churrasqueiras, where you can choose between a whole or half chicken with or without the spicy sauce. The piri-piri pepper, which gives the dish its heat, originates from Portugal's former African colonies like Mozambique and Angola. There are specialized restaurants that offer dishes featuring this famous pepper.
Finally an authentic Portuguese restaurant in the center of town. The menu is in many languages, but the wait staff are local and the food is what you would expect a local to have at dinner. I had beef in port sauce served with homemade fries and white rice and bread to soak up the sauce. Delicious and for under 15€ including coffee.

After trying the viral/popular chicken places in Lisbon, I think this place tops them! The flavours were authentic, flavourful, tasty and packed a punch (if you choose to get spicy)! A lovely man served us! And you just know the food is going to be good when there’s a random customer sitting in a corner on his Acer laptop surfing the internet! 🤣

Oh my word!! The fish (we called them smelt in Canada) were AMAZING!! Light and delicately fried, but not at all over-cooked, so the meat just fell off the bones. Picture attached to prove. Just absolutely wonderful. Random place, at the end of a trolly ride. Perfect.

The food was authentic purtogese. The pri pri sauce was really good, spicy and hot. The staff was friendly and everything seems to be prepared when ordered which was nice. You may come here for a good local cusisne experience by the city center
Mahmood A — Google review
Terrible experience. Would not recommend to anyone. Let’s start with the food — it was just awful. The potatoes were undercooked. The sea bass we ordered was completely burnt — black, dry, and tasteless, like charcoal. The salad looked like someone hastily chopped it up at home — two sad tomato slices, some grated carrot, and a pile of bland leaves. No oil, no seasoning, no dressing whatsoever. We also ordered mussels — what they brought us was a joke. So tiny, they barely measured a centimeter. Honestly, we thought it was either a mistake or a bad joke. The service was downright unacceptable. The waiter looked annoyed from the moment we walked in, never smiled, and acted like he just wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. Food took around 40 minutes to arrive — with no apology or explanation. And the worst part? The bill. It included items we never ordered: bread, spreads, butter, and olives. We assumed it was a complimentary starter, as often happens in Portugal — but they charged us €1–3 for every single item. When we said we hadn’t ordered it, we were completely ignored and handed the final bill. Bottom line: poorly cooked food, rude service, and a sneaky attempt to overcharge us. Avoid at all costs.

Wanted to kick off my Lisbon food journey with piri-piri chicken. I went for the Chacoal grilled chicken while my friend ordered the famous Bacalhau com Natas (Codfish in Cream). The chicken was delicious, though I was secretly expecting it to be marinated in piri-piri sauce before grilling, blame the YouTube recipe videos I binged before coming. Instead, the piri-piri arrives on the side. Friendly warning: it’s not for the faint of heart. That sauce packs serious heat, so approach it like a dare. Portion-wise, the chicken seems to be on the small side. Tip for fellow meat lovers: don’t be shy, just order the whole bird, you’ll handle it, no problem. The codfish was also tasty, creamy, and comforting, so sharing bites felt like winning the dinner lottery. The service was genuinely friendly, and I liked that the room was buzzing with both locals and tourists. Always a good sign. One note: mains aren’t huge, so grabbing a starter is a smart move. Prices are fair compared to other Lisbon restaurants, so your wallet won’t cry. Overall, tasty food, cozy vibes, and spicy sauce that deserves its own warning label.

Chicken was ok but quite dry and not much meat on the bone. Some pieces were nearly all bone. Be careful of the plate of breads/cheeses they give after you order. They charge you for each piece you touched individually and also there was a service charge added on top. What seemed like reasonable prices from the menu came out to be much more with all the additional charges.

Floresta das Escadinhas is a charming Portuguese outpost located on the outskirts of Alfama in Lisbon. This popular seafood restaurant is known for its simple yet delicious grilled meats and seafood, with a specialty in fresh sardines. The menu offers a few select dishes, including their renowned sardines and calamari. Diners can enjoy indoor seating or opt for a charming outdoor experience on the landing of the stairs between two buildings.
Excellent, authentic Portuguese fish experience! We had the chorizo appetizer, mixed meat, mixed fish and grilled squid plates. The fish is definitely the star! Great service and ambiance. We got there right at opening to get in with no reservation. Place filled up quickly, so if you don’t go right at open recommend a reservation.

the best lunch place in Lisbon! everything was just great - the service was friendly and fast, even though we came just before closing; meat and sides were well made and well seasoned, fries looked homemade, salad was really fresh; then desserts - just incredible :)

Simple menu for seafood and meat. They got squid, cod, octopus, and sardines (their specialty). Sardines were well seasoned and the soup of the day was decent but wouldn’t get the soup again. Small place so reservations are recommended.

In an busy tourist area where half of the menus are exactly the same, this place stands out as an authenticate experience. We got here halfway through the lunch rush so some items were sold out but they were up front about it prior to seating. We had the squid and sardines and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Dennis W — Google review
I will start with a kudos to the waiter who was very attentive and kind! For the food. portions are really big: the fish platter was very rich and the sardine was one of the best that I've had. The meat platter was average, beef was a bit chewy. Potatoes were served as sides and salad can be ordered separately.
Next F — Google review
The food was excellent, especially the fish, but the service really let the experience down. We had to wait about 30 minutes at our table before anyone brought us even a glass of water, which came across as quite rude. Also, we sat at a table in the corner by the refrigerator & kitchen so had to move a few times to accomodate for staff moving things like baby strollers. This is the reason I subtracted 1-star from my review. This was our first Taste+ restaurant in Lisbon, and we ordered the mixed meat plate, mixed fish plate, a water, a beer, and a glass of green wine. The total came to around 45 €, which felt reasonable given how good the food was—if only the service had matched it.
Dr. D — Google review
The fish was very fresh and well prepared. I especially recommend the mixed fish platter — a nice variety and everything cooked just right. Service was good and the atmosphere pleasant.
Ellen D — Google review
We came to this restaurant directly after arriving in Lisbon because we had checked the great reviews and we were definitely not disappointed! We got some appetisers and also tried the squid and the octopus and both tasted amazing! We also had a bottle of green “vinho da casa” which was refreshing and exactly what we needed on a hot summer day. The pricing was also great, since we paid 40€ between the two of us for what was definitely fresh sea food. Special kudos to our waiter, Augusto, who took amazing care of us. He was extremely polite, friendly and attentive and took really good care of us, making the whole experience even more memorable. I’d definitely recommend this place!

Casa do Alentejo is a timeless restaurant that blends Moroccan and European influences to offer local cuisine and wine. Tucked away from the bustling crowds, this hidden gem is located in the indoor patio of the old Alverca Palace, providing a peaceful escape. The ornate decor reminiscent of Arabian nights creates a picturesque setting perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy moments. Originally built in the 1600s, this palatial residence has been transformed into a social club with a restaurant upstairs.
I don’t remember where I first saw it or why I marked it on my map, but this place is truly a hidden gem. I went there two evenings in a row, and both dishes—one fish, the other meat—were absolutely delicious. On the first evening, I tried the local plum dessert, and on the second, the creamy vegetable soup. The magnificent architecture, beauty, and historical texture of the place are simply incredible.

Beautiful place to enjoy an authentic Portuguese meal surrounded by azulejos (tiles). The location is in the heart of the tourist area - this restaurant is step above the standard tourist places just outside the door. The wine list is inexpensive and excellent with Alentejo wines the star. We enjoyed the seafood rice and lamb rice with our red wine. The desserts looked amazing but we were too full to attempt any on our visit. Highly recommend and we will bring guests visiting in the future to experience it all.

This place is tucked away, unless a local shares the details, you wouldn’t stumble across it. In a building, up a few flights of stairs and with guidance from the person inside, it’s difficult to find. Beautifully positioned in a couple of grand rooms. There are no fans nor air conditioning so be prepared to be very hot if it’s warm outside. The first waiter ignored us - I think it was because we weren’t sitting in his area. The second was quite friendly. We order meals and drinks that were all traditional Portuguese style and enjoyable. A nice experience.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and what a find! The decor was warm and inviting, with a cozy charm that made us feel instantly welcome. The menu was full of tempting options, but I went with the lamb with mushrooms—and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and beautifully plated. To top it off, the wine list was surprisingly generous. A full bottle cost less than two glasses, and there were plenty of great choices to pair with the meal. It’s rare to find a place that nails atmosphere, food, and value all at once—but this one absolutely did. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving something memorable.

A hidden gem that we stumbled into from the high street, buried deep in the building up a few sets of stairs is the restaurant with incredible decor. The staff here are fantastic, great with English and have great advice on approaching their menu. The food was authentic local cuisine with good wine options and desert. I would highly recommend this place for date nights and small groups.

The location of this restaurant is the best thing about it. It is located inside a beautiful baroque design house with a small terrace in the middle that does not match the same look. The food was good, not great not terrible and the drinks choice is limited. Staff is friendly and funny, does not speak English very well but overall everything was OK. From my opinion you can find better restaurants in Lisbon!

I am sorry but its probably my taste. The place has a lot of history and it’s truly remarkable as a building. The service its ok(ish), but the food its just not on my list. The portions are too much in my opinion, and everything feels so fat and oily. I don’t know if it’s just me, but Its the first time I didn’t manage to eat half of what I ordered. I can totally see that place as a jewel… but probably with a new menu and some investment in making the place look better, not just dusty old.

Lisbon Tu e Eu is a cozy and familiar restaurant that offers traditional Portuguese seafood at a fraction of the price compared to other places in the area. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere, food, sangria, and service all contribute to an incredible dining experience. The staff is friendly and provides quick service. Dishes like octopus, garlic shrimp, lemon meringue pie, and almond desserts come highly recommended for their freshness and delicious flavors.
Excellent local restaurant. We ordered the sausage, tempura shrimp, and sea bass. Their sea bass is grilled, but I asked them to sear it in garlic butter and they were very accommodating. Service time is very reasonable for what appears to be a family owned local restaurant. The sausage was a little hard to chew, but it tasted so good. The sea bass was fantastic, and the shrimp was by far the highlight of this visit. We also got sangria (they make it with sparkling wine) which was really good. Very happy with the experience and would definitely come again. Only downside is that they accept cash only! No credit cards 🙁

If you're looking to taste the best sardines in Lisbon, look no further. This small restaurant serves you with some of the most amazing authentic Portuguese food that could give many others a run for their money. Though i was lucky to try this first as my Airbnb was bang opposite this place; it caught my taste buds so much that I had the next two meals here as well. Grilled sardines and chocolate mousse is a must try, not to forget butter garlic prawns. Veggie cake with rice din't do bad either. Don't hesitate to sign off on the wall graffiti inside this tiny restaurant as a memory. P.S. Due to slant seating arrangement on cobbled street, it's good for groups of two. Despite a mezzanine seating, the staff is reluctant to offer indoor seating at most times.

Waited about 30 minutes in line, absolutely worth it. Their dishes cause an explosion of flavours in your mouth. The friendly service and cute (but wonky) furniture really added to the charm. Our waitress was as sweet as our desserts <3 she was kind enough to tell us what we shouldn’t order off the menu based on our religion prohibiting alcohol. This was a dinner to remember!

They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is on a slant due to the location and cobblestones. I enjoyed my squid with potatoes. It was a little oily for me, but had nice flavoring. The woman working was very nice and honest. She cautioned the table next to me that their orders came with sides ordering more might be too much food.

The seafood restaurant Mar ao Carmo serves fresh, wild-caught seafood from Portuguese waters. The interior is small and rustic, with a tank of live lobsters and crabs next to a display of the day's catch. You can choose your food from the counter or grill it yourself at your table. The servings are generous, and the prices reasonable.
Ended up here as we got lost in another country!!! It was one of the best adventurous ends... If you don't know, Portugal is extremely hilly! Coming back from shopping, my wife and I got so lost and ended up walking up and down many hills. I decided we would stop, find something to eat, and ask for directions. We ended up at Mar ao Camo. Oh, Boy... were we happy! I will say that this was one of the best meals we had during our time in Lisbon. We both had salmon, potatoes, and roasted veggies. The salmon was fresh and cooked to perfection! The entire dish was well seasoned and just good! The atmosphere was cozy, and the service above par. I definitely recommend the little gem.

Open late and very patient with tourists, but the price was very high for the poorly presented/seasoned food. My shrimp salad was drenched in a super sweet dressing while the octopus came with a single tentacle and overcooked/mushy spinach. Service and atmosphere were great and our drinks were fantastic. Mixed bag really.

It was a beautiful day on a Wednesday at noon, the restaurant outdoor seating just opened. The server was very attentive and showing me the lunch special. The location is very tourist but the 15 euro lunch special is solid. It included bread, main course, drink and coffee. I have order shrimp pasta and it was tasty. You will not be disappointed coming here for lunch!

The carpaccio was delicious. The seafood rice however was very average. The flavour was just okay and extremely peppery. The seafood was also overcooked with lots of empty shells. They should also provide an extra bowl for all the shells as our dinner plates were filled with shells making it difficult to eat.

Very good restaurant in Lisbon. Excellent food. The staff is super-kind. There has been a minor misunderstanding but the personnel was so kind that we could skip that little issue.
Eugene — Google review
Octopus carpaccio was good, nothing spectacular - the salad on top of the octopus is a random addition. It should be put to the side. The fish soup however was foul and leaves a foul tasting grease to your mouth. The service was okay and the atmosphere outside was good. This restaurant is too expensive for what it is. I paid 33 euro for octopus carpaccio, fish soup and their most basic vinho verde.

Very nice atmosphere, delicious food and service.

Best freshest seafood in Lisbon. Been to Lisbon several times, this place takes the prize. Highly recommended by my German conductor friend. The crab roe rice is unlike anything I’ve had. Female stone crab mixed with onion, miniature rice. With shrimp, clam, mussel, soaked in a fresh thyme garlic butter. Octopus marinated in olive oil was also rather great. Enough to break my carb free diet got 10 days. Tomatoes based seafood soup was also complex and delish.

Estaminé Art Food Drink is a small and cozy restaurant in Lisbon that offers traditional Portuguese cuisine. The owners, Joyce and Luis, are known for their warm hospitality and passion for what they do. The restaurant's decor showcases ceramics and photography, creating a welcoming atmosphere. With a small but impressive menu, the food is highly praised by visitors. Reservations are recommended as there are only two tables available, allowing for an intimate dining experience.
A must in Lisbon! This place is tiny and feels like a family kitchen. Joice and Luis make the food to order, and it's clear they enjoy having you visit. It's so nice to watch them cook and they are so open and easy and talk to. After a delicious meal we even gave them a hug and felt like we just stopped by at our favorite aunt's place. Do not miss this unique experience, it will leave you smiling.

Had the best meal during our 2 week trip to Spain and Portugal at this intimate restaurant! Luis and Joyce were amazing, so friendly, made us feel special, and the food was amazing. You must give this place a try!
John G — Google review
I would have never found this place had it not been recommended by someone who stumbled upon it and just happened to mention it to their mother who passed along the information to me. Yes, that was a round about way of saying this is a great kept secret but I don’t think it is going to stay that way for long. This restaurant is owned by a couple from Brazil who have lived in Portugal for over 10 years. The art studio is a passion of the husband and he sells his work right there. They only accept reservations from What’sApp. They are opened for lunch and dinner. They have a small menu with a rotating fish and meat option switching daily. On our visit we had the option of meatballs, fish curry, and zucchini roll ups. The fish curry was delicious with so much flavor. We also really enjoyed the meatballs too. The dishes are prepared ahead of time but fully cooked in the room where you are seated. It is an experience that I have never had before. I enjoyed talking to the owners as we waited for our food. It was also fun to get to know the other guests as there are only two tables in the establishment. We wrapped up our meal with their banana pie which is like a warm banana bread/pudding topped with vanilla ice cream. This was hands down the best restaurant experience we had during our week stay in the country. You would be lucky to get a reservation. Plus check out the view point at the top after eating there.
Kenzie W — Google review
Estaminés is a gem, not because of great food, great wine and art. But mostly because of the owners - Luis and Joice. A Brasilian couple who pour their heart and soul into their business and making your visit feel like you just arrived home. They are warm, welcoming, and fantastic hosts. We enjoyed our food, wine and desert tremendously, but we cherish how they made us feel with their stories, their service and how they even entertained our baby so we could eat. This is exactly why I love to travel - to connect with wonderful people and realize there is so much more that connects us all. If you want an experience like having a home meal. Make a reservation and go visit them, its a small place with only two tables but with a huge soul.
CAMILO D — Google review
One of our favorite meals in Portugal! Such a cool concept with just a few tables and the kitchen right next to you. The team there is SO sweet and the food was incredible. When we were there, it was just us and one other couple, so just four people total. I thought it might be a little awkward at first, but it wasn’t at all! We saw a lot of people walk by and try to come in, but they only serve the two tables per night, so definitely make a reservation if you want to go! We just messaged through WhatsApp and they were super nice and responsive!

Such an amazing experience! Great food and nice atmosphere. Great service and recommendations as well. Tonic-Portwine and Caipirinha as Aperitivo! Small but exclusive location. We're coming back, A. & R.

Estamine is a must go place! My friend and I happened to find this GEM and it completely made our trip to Lisbon. From the cozy and homely atmosphere, to the amazing conversation with owners Joice and Luis this place is a 10/10. Immediately after walking in, Joice and Luis made us feel right at home chatting and artfully explaining the menu. We talked as they made a gorgeous spread of local cheese and meats while enjoying a delicious verde wine. From their suggestions on places we have to visit during our trip to our goals and aspirations this was an unforgettable experience and you will be missing out if you don’t go!

In town for a wedding. Found this place while looking for good places to eat. We had 8 of us. It was an excellent experience from the minute we arrived until we left. The drinks are freshly made and delicious. Our tapas were cheeses, tomatoes, peanuts, etc. We also had fresh cheese puffs with at least 6 sauce different home made sauces. Dinner we had meatballs, zucchini rolls, and a cod casserole. So delicious!!! Treat yourself to this place, not overly pricey. I would absolutely eat here again. Contact them by email to make a reservation.

Alfama Grill is a popular seafood spot located in Lisbon's historic district. The restaurant is known for its delicious sardines, which may take some time to arrive but are well worth the wait. The traditional neighborhood setting adds to the charm, and diners can enjoy local fare such as sardines, lasagna, and fresh salad. The restaurant also offers whole sea bass and salmon with vegetables for a healthy dining experience.
An amazing experience. Music was magical food was delicious and service was first class

A small outdoor terrace, also with a fado restaurant. The food was excellent. There were plenty of prawns, and the meat was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and sufficiently proficient in languages. However, the delivery of dishes to the table didn't go quite smoothly. Both the prawns meant as starters and the meat skewer meant as the main course were brought to the table at the same time. In the cool spring breeze, both cooled down too much. Other operations resembled too much those of a typical tourist place. Apparently, the credit card reader didn't work, and there was no proper invoice for the dishes. Only a handwritten total amount, completely lacking in detail. Recommended for the food aspect. Otherwise, I do not recommend.

When we were first arriving, to check into our apartment, struggling with our luggage, uphill on cobblestone, the kind waiter offered to help me take it up the street to our apartment. We came back to have the most amazing early dinner 3 days later. I ordered the whole sea bass and my husband ordered the salmon with vegetables. It was probably the healthiest meal that we've had in a while. We've been traveling in Europe since April 19th. and are thrilled to have an amazing healthy Portuguese experience. The weather was perfect, we had the same waiter to take care of us that we met in the street 3 days earlier. This is an authentic Lisbon experience, in a medieval neighborhood. Thank you for your kindness, it means a lot to us. The owner invited us to the Favo show in her beautiful dining room. Hope to see it before we head out.

Really nice atmosphere and amazing Fado. The food was great, big portion to a good price and served very nicely. The Atmosphere was, well yes, cozy (like most Restaurants in the old district and Portugal generally, but come on you should know and expected that by now) but also very inviting and lively. The waiters where super nice and friendly and one even was so kind as to personally guide us to a place where we could take a taxi, which is not so easy I that part of the town. We had a really nice evening and I honestly don't understand all the negative reviews
Carola S — Google review
Pretty good! Great prices for a LOT of food. Come hungry because the portion sizes are huge. We got the sardines appetizer (more like a meal), octopus rice, and tuna black eyed peas salad. Most dishes come with a salad or with potatoes so prepare to be full. They had a nice outdoor patio to sit and enjoy the food. They also have live music every night at 6pm, it was I believe.

would leave 0 if we could. tourist trap! went around 9pm, they moved us to a different table mid-meal to squeeze more people in. slow service, overpriced poor menu. fado music was good but can find that anywhere in the area - tourist trap!

We had a fado show and a dinner, the show was good ,the dinner was some kind of sea food soup that it was ok ,and a dessert that I choose mango mousse and it was good

Don’t go if you’re a solo woman!!! creepy waiter refused to bring me my check, instead insisting on more wine despite my repeatedly asking for the check. Ended up making me pay inside, which no other table did :/ the fado music was nice but there are much better places to go nearby and throughout the city

Seafood restaurant
Último Porto, located within the historic Estacao Maritima da Rocha do Conde de Obidos, has gained recognition for its splendid view of the Tejo River and its offering of traditional Portuguese dishes and charcoal-grilled delicacies. This spot is known for mastering the art of charcoal-grilled fish and is a great place to enjoy sardines, which are not commonly found on every seafood restaurant's menu in Lisbon.
It is not an easy place to get to in the middle of the port, but definitely worth going if you feel like very fresh fish or seafood straight from the grill. It was fully booked on a Saturday lunch and packed with locals. And yes, the bridge was not operating, so we had to struggle a bit to get an Uber back to Lisbon.
Anastasiia S — Google review
Great food at very reasonable prices for the quality and freshness. The owner/manager was very polite and helpful and took on feedback about some of the translations on the menu. The service was good although the English was limited and a little slow when it came to paying and wanting to leave.

We love the grilled sardines fish so much. Grilled cuttlefish is also delicious. They got both indoor And outdoor dining area. Friendly staff speaks English frequently. First come first serve basis with no reservation is needed if you come around 12:30pm.

Good food and prices! However many mosquitos and flies around the food and place making the eating expirience disturbing. Also the manager is rude.
Alexandre M — Google review
Great food, slow service. The restaurant is located at the port of Lisbon, quite interesting. The views aren't that great as large cranes and containers block the river and 25 de Abril bridge. Plenty of free parking at the side of the restaurant, which is great. Service was really slow and kind of rude at times (not our main server though), entrees took like 1h and the rest of the food another one and the order was a bit mixed up with even one dish forgotten. But the food... We mostly ate fish and it was really good, worth the wait? Well, that's up for consideration but it was great. Well cooked, seemed quite fresh and it was well seasoned. I can recommend this restaurant only if you're not in a hurry and if temperatures outside are not that high.
Samuel V — Google review
Fresh fish and seafood in large portions and cheep prices. A bit hard to find. Google gave us the wrong directions... Felt a bit like a neighbourhood barbecue with high atmosphere and stressed waiters. Lots of locals in line for a table when we left. They had an eglish menu but did not speek much english.
Robert L — Google review
This restaurant is for locals rather than tourists. The staff are not particularly friendly. It's near the harbor, but the view from the restaurant isn't great. But the taste of grilled fish is amazing. Salads are great too. The price is also reasonable. The taste of grilled sardines is really impressive. Although the material is also great, the skill of the grill master is the best.
조피디의 애 — Google review
The location is amazing and it's a very popular spot with a nice atmosphere. However, considering its reputation for serving some of the best fish in town, I expected more than what you would find at a local seaside restaurant. Unfortunately, most of the clams were sandy, the cuttlefish was dry, and the fish was close to being burnt rather than perfectly grilled. Despite the restaurant's popularity and being always packed, hopefully, our experience was just an off day for the food and a result of miscommunication. Additionally, we received several extra items on our bill that we didn't order, which seemed like bad luck. It's a shame because we really wanted to like the place.

A Parreirinha do Paraíso, located just outside of Alfama in Lisbon, is a hidden gem that offers an authentic dining experience. The restaurant is popular among locals and serves great traditional Portuguese food. Visitors praise the perfectly grilled sardines served with boiled potatoes, salad, and fresh Portuguese rolls. The octopus is tender and both the grilled and fried sardines are excellent dishes made with fresh seafood. Guests also appreciate the friendly service provided by the staff.
I think the one of the best food in Lisbon. We tried lot of places but this one is a hidden jem. We ordered sardines, an octopus salad and seafood rice. The food is delicious. Also, the service is a top notch!

Superb food! Ordered both the octopus rice and grilled fish. It feels like grandma cooking. Very satisfying and comforting. This was one of my best meals in Lisbon. The octopus was soft, rice was flavourful and the fish, perfectly done! Truly a gem, small but shining bright! Will recommend to anyone ard the area or after the visit to the Museu Nacional do Azulejo!

This cantina was excellent. It was super clean and comfortable. The service was excellent and the waitress was very patient with us in explaining all the dishes. Everything we had was great. The octopus salad was delicious and very fresh, the grilled sardines and the grilled sea bream had a great flavor and were perfectly done. We tried the dessert and it was wonderful too. I highly recommend the creme brulee. They brulee it right before serving so it has a nice caramel smell and flavor. The prices were also great for the amount and quality of food you get.

I absolutely loved this place! It was such an amazing experience from start to finish. Lenore, our hostess, was incredible—she made the best sangria I’ve had in all of Portugal! The atmosphere was cozy, with a great vibe and nostalgic music that wasn’t too loud—just perfect. The codfish fajitas were delicious, the guacamole was fresh and flavorful, and the mushroom dish was also really good. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Excellent drinks bar with tapas. We tried Kiev Mule, Martini porno, strawberry and basil caipirinha, spicy Mezcal margarita, Hugo and a raspberry martini. All were nicely balanced and flavoursome. The batatas fritas, pimentos padron and other tapas we tried were also excellent. We enjoyed the ambiance of the place, which was dark, but not too dark, and the staff were friendly and helpful - a great experience!

We just wanted to drink one port wine to finish the evening and stayed way longer because we loved it so much! Very cozy atmosphere, nice music and the nicest service. It was great watching the barkeeper making cocktails, because he was so skilled and we had a great conversation with him, too. We did not eat anything but the food looked delicious! I'd assume that it's great, too. Thank you very much. Highly recommended!!

My mum wanted to eat tapas, so we trekked up the route of the yellow cable car and found the restaurant to our left. And I am so glad we did! The waiting staff was lovely and recommended cocktails to us and advised us on the amount of food. We did not order any main dishes but shared starters and really ate our fill. During the meal the foods were brought after a short while between which was great as it meant that you could enjoy everything before it went cold. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and return!

Small restaurant with a delicious menu. Run by two lovely ladies yet the services was efficient and they were very helpful walking my through the menu. I had the octopus Salad and have to say one of the best I’ve ever had for € 9.5 and the stir fried beef for about €10 however it was overcooked for my taste but the flavor was there. In a lively street yet very chill it was a beautiful experience.

Absolutely THE place in Lisbon! It is obvious that many things come from the Michelin Star restaurant (same addressand mood, different room) and it really works! Gentle and professional staff, exceptional food, attention to details (it was my birthday and they organize cake and candle without instruction). I am very glad, it is clear that the Chef Eneko Atxa knows how to do treat his customers. Can’t wait to come back to the Michelin Star and to his 3 Michelin Star near Bilbao!

Overall very good experience and good service, although they seem a bit short staffed at the moment so it was sometimes hard to flag down a waiter and wine glasses would remain empty. We went to Basque on a Romantic dinner the whole ambiance is incredible. I remember this venue from the 90’s and the owners have managed to keep the original look and feel. beautiful 😍 . Adding to that we loved the chef , the flavours, the mix & match of basque cuisine in a sophisticated taste and presentation. What an adventure through the most incredible dishes like beetroot pate, eel cakes, scallops 👏 I could go on and on. Those desserts 🍨 … Thank you the the wonderful staff that made our evening even more special , Ines, Ana Mestre, Larissa and Fraw. 👏👏👏

Some of the dishes are well executed, but the portions are tiny, especially the fried cod main - one single, tiny piece of fish for 20€. Paid 150€ for a meal for two including a bottle of wine and left hungry. The waiter serving us was obviously new and was struggling a lot with his English, but his colleague that was supposed to mentor him just let him struggle in front of customers. This place is more about the presentation and the show effect rather than the quality of ingredients or preparation.

Despite its name, Cervejaria Ramiro is renowned for its exceptional seafood offerings such as lobster, prawns, crab, clams cooked in olive oil and garlic, and more.
When we arrived, they almost seemed like they expecting us to they ushered us to the patio entrance while asking everyone else to go to the main door. The server told us our table would be ready in a few moments as the previous guests were just settling up. The wait took a little longer, so he offered to start us off with drinks while we waited. It was such nice and thoughtful service. That level of service was provided throughout the meal with every staff member. When we didn’t know how to eat the barnacles, they were so excited to show us how to take it out of the shell and eat it. I’m sure they’ve done it for so many tourists. It’s the attentiveness and friendly service that really made our visit so memorable. Of course the food was spectacular. The seafood with so fresh. And the shrimp with garlic was out of this world. 10/10 recommend

The seafood here is incredibly fresh. You can really taste the ocean in every bite. My absolute favorite was the scarlet prawns. The flavor just exploded in my mouth, and the tender, buttery texture was beyond amazing. It’s a true culinary experience and honestly, a food orgasm. 10/10 a must-try when you’re in town! 🦐🤤

Really delicious seafood. We’d recommend the shrimps with garlic, the razor clams, and the scarlet shrimp. The scarlet shrimp is expensive for what it is but might be worth while you’re here. (My fiance really likes that). Skip the crab, it’s cold (they did mention it) but all the rest of the food was warm and fresh, and the cold crab disrupts the flow. Food comes out fast but the service could be better. I’d recommend to reserve a table because it’s busy.
Christine T — Google review
Recommend you reserve as otherwise could be quite a wait. Absolute 5/5 from the food, to the atmosphere, to the staff. Every dish we tried was delicious, although my personal favourite was the razor clams in garlic oil. If you can imagine your ideal seafood experience, this would be it. Highly recommend you dip the bread into the sauces (like the garlic oil) - it pairs very well together. Staff was friendly and attentive. Empty dishes were cleared quickly. There was no upselling on food - we had eyes larger than our stomachs and the staff wisely advised that what we had was enough and we can order more if we wanted to - and the food spoke for itself as we were all very satisfied and happy at the end of our meal. Of all the restaurants I’ve tried thus far in Lisbon, this would be one I’d come back to over and over again.
Cindy H — Google review
I visited this restaurant on friends’ recommendations, it’s considered a must-visit seafood spot in Lisbon, so we decided to add it to our list. When we sat down, we noticed the table next to us was finishing their meal and being charged for buttered bread they hadn’t ordered. They were angry with that charge! Although the charge wasn’t expensive, I observed that every table was automatically served bread. We had the chance to speak with one of the employees, who explained that “customers have to be aware that anything placed on the table isn’t free.” I was quite surprised by this explanation. I didn’t argue, especially since the bread was tasty, but I do feel they should inform customers in advance that the bread is not complimentary. I believe most tourists wouldn’t mind a small charge — but expecting customers to simply know this on their own seems unreasonable. That said, the seafood was very fresh and delicious. I genuinely hope they improve this aspect of their service, because it’s a very popular restaurant in Lisbon and has so much potential.

I have been planning to visit Ramiro for a few years now, especially because of how everyone praises it so highly. Last Friday, I finally went, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. It is definitely the best "cervejaria" (seafood place) I have been to in Portugal. The seafood is fresh and delicious, and the service is exceptional—old school yet efficient. It may look hectic, but everything is on point: quick, friendly, and cheeky. I can't wait to return!
Daniel S — Google review
Excellent fresh seafood. Strongly recommend the cockles, and the scarlett prawns that got opened by the server in front of you. Best prawns I’ve had in my life. Tables are cramped and service is rather limited, but can’t complain much with the great efficiency and value.
Steven L — Google review
Top quality seafood with simple cooking, no gimmick, no fuss. For a place popular with visitors and has over 10000+ reviews, I was initially quite skeptical about it being a tourist trap. Gladly the food proved me wrong! The only small gripe is the queuing system but I guess given the numbers of reservation they get they're trying their best.

Zé da Mouraria is a popular restaurant located in the historic Mouraria quarter, known for its generous portions of traditional Portuguese dishes. The place is always bustling with patrons eager to savor their famous roasted cod, ribs with bean rice, garlic steak, and cuttlefish. Despite the narrow cobbled street where it's tucked away, this hidden gem attracts both locals and visitors seeking an authentic dining experience.
Amazing local Portuguese tasca! Delicious food. My absolute favourite steak with garlic. Huge portions! Come with family and friends. And great service!
Estela L — Google review
This place was recommended by Lonely Planet so I walked all the way just to try it. It’s big a fancy place but it is rightly what I wanted to experience as a tourist. The portion is huge - I took my time and was able to finish half a portion plus a dessert, but I didn’t need a dinner that day. I also tried out green wine, apparently unique to Portugal. I liked everything I had and if you are also travelling in Lisbon you may wanna give it a go of what I had.
Ivy W — Google review
Solid 3 star for the food. We ordered the cod for 2 and got kilos of chickpeas covering the cod which was maybe cooked? We were the first or 2nd after they opened so maybe they were not ready. The waiters had a great time talking super loudly with each other, enjoying their company and maybe planning the world order. Us on the other hand tried without luck to eat the cod in a sea of chickpeas. Credit to them the chickpeas were great just a few too many, maybe for 20 tables worth. Anyway go there but know what to expect. For a 2 star experience try the salad.
Matei B — Google review
Got recommended this off-the-beaten-path place by a local friend and food really did not disappoint! The cod with chickpeas and potatoes was yum!And the salad on the side was very refreshing. However, we weren’t greeted or served with much hospitality — which left us surprised since Portugal is known for its warmth. The waiter was visibly annoyed, even strict and inattentive. Of course, we all have our best and worst days, but it still affected our experience — from beginning to end.

Do not miss this place. Authentic Portuguese food, excellent green wine and overall great vibe. We had the cuttlefish and steak with garlic. Both exceptional.

Traditional Portuguese food. The cod was great. Flesh melts in your mouth, salad was fresh, light and tasty. Local cheese was amazing with bread and olives . Creme brulee was typical Portuguese (slightly salty 😊)
Suhail S — Google review
A downtown Tasca with a couple of small and tightly furnished indoor spaces in a traditional decor, a short menu of large servings and a limited wine list with informal young service. We were 2 for lunch that arrived early for a table and chose the couvert with a cheese, for mains shared the fried polvo & potatoes, a large arroz de pato (of which half got in a doggy bag), a cheesecake and a flan, with coffee and waters for €45/pax. All considering, maybe due to downtown location it feels +30% too much.
Jesper A — Google review
Seafood is super hard and chewy, 51 Euro for this dish plus bread and cheese they brought to our table without us asking for it makes me feel like I am back to the US… had outstanding squid /octopus dishes in Porto, just can not accept this quality with such high bill…

Restaurant
Pateo 13 is a charming restaurant nestled in the narrow streets of Alfama, offering a delightful selection of freshly grilled fish and meat. The picturesque courtyard and casual atmosphere provide an authentic Portuguese dining experience. Despite being challenging to locate, the effort is worthwhile as the simple yet delicious grilled dishes, accompanied by side salad and boiled potatoes, offer a true taste of home-cooked Portuguese cuisine. Visitors can enjoy live music while savoring their meals.
Stopped for lunch as we were walking through the area. The smells from the outdoor grill made us stop. Had grilled sardines, steak and fish. All the food was amazing. Prices were super reasonable. Service was friendly. Cash only but there’s an atm around the corner.
Sebastian D — Google review
Great spot in the heart of Alfama — definitely worth a visit if you love grilled food! Everything is cooked over coals right outside, so you get to watch (and smell) your meal being made, which adds to the charm. The smoky air and the outdoor seating under trees and umbrellas make for a really enjoyable atmosphere. The food itself is simple but super tasty — sometimes that's all you need. Only downside was the service, which felt a bit disorganized, and it's cash only, so be prepared. Also, I’d skip the bread and olives — not on the same level as the rest of the food. Overall, a strong 4.5 in my book. Would definitely go back for the grilled meats and that unique vibe.

Gorgeous food, fresh and tasty fish, all freshly made; friendly, professional and helpful staff, very good location as well. The only thing no card payment, but that’s not really an issue. Good prices compared to the size of the portion and general quality of food. Would go there again next time I’m in town.

Sardinha is a charming restaurant in Lisbon that offers an amazing dining experience. The grilled sardines are particularly noteworthy, reminiscent of the ones enjoyed in Algiers. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, with a mix of locals and tourists enjoying authentic Portuguese cuisine. The service is excellent, and the portions are generous for the price. While the owner may not speak English or Spanish, the warm hospitality shines through.
I have been trying to have the full on Portuguese experience that I have been living in Lisbon for over two years now. So I asked a Portuguese friend of mine to recommend a Tasca that’s value for money but has great food. Well my friend didn’t let me down! This place was great. No thrills but the local husband wife combo (service and chef) made my time here a great one. The photos of my food might look super basic but it’s one of my favorites under €10 meals I have had since I have been here.

Went for the mixed meat platter which was good. Declined bread ( which is extra )as would of been too much food. Service was friendly. However..... very disappointed with the bill when it had "pastel de bacalo" added to it ! Questioned this and was told it was service! An extra 7e for this, really not sure about that, so left a sour taste , be warned . This spolit what would of been a good lunch .

A true Portuguese gem! 🇵🇹✨ Here, you’ll taste the real Portugal. Fantastic traditional food in a small, cozy, family-run restaurant. The kind of place with real soul that’s hard to find these days. If you’re looking for authentic, home-style dishes made with love in a warm and welcoming atmosphere at an unbeatable price, this is the place to go. The sardines are simply the best I’ve ever had, and the feijoada is one of the finest in all of Portugal! Sr. Duarte and his wife, Dona Alda, run the restaurant entirely on their own, they’re truly wonderful people who make you feel like part of the family. And be understanding and patient if you have to wait for your food, the couple runs the restaurant by themselves and truly does their best. If you’re in Lisbon, don’t miss this genuine experience. Local spot run by an older couple. We dined during lunch at a busy time and were told there was no more fish, and only chicken on the menu. The chicken was just very okay and came with two scoops of rice. The gentleman gave us bread which we didn’t ask for and then charged us for the bread AND butter. Overall the experience is of a local one but the food and service are not great.

Heritage Avenida Liberdade Boutique Hotel, a Lisbon Heritage Collection, is an elegant hotel housed in an 18th-century building with vintage-chic quarters. Designed by architect Miguel Cancio Martins, the property seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern sophistication. The original features like cast-iron balconies and tile walls have been preserved while incorporating contemporary elements. The hotel offers an indoor pool, fitness center, and a stylish bar.
We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel. We were recommended this hotel from another one close-by after that hotel's AC stopped working. We called this hotel and they were able to accommodate us at such short notice at 6pm. We walked across the street and when we arrived, they upgraded us into one of their best rooms for the night. The room itself was beautiful and very spacious. It had a wonderful view that overlooked the Avenida with a small balcony and tall, beautiful windows. The bathroom was also well designed and looked amazing. Everything was immaculately clean and we were provided a nice bottle of port as well upon check-in. The staff was so accommodating and wonderful, and the morning breakfast was so delicious. This hotel is also central to many places we were hoping to visit while in our final night in Lisbon. Would recommend for anyone who is just staying one night in Lisbon.

For anyone travelling to Portugal, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The moment I walked in, I felt right at home. Andrea and Helio are both so friendly and welcoming, especially Helio. He helped escort me to my room when I checked in, and assisted me in putting my bags inside the car when I checked out. I came at around 11:30 AM, and my room was already ready by the time I came. The room was so spacious, and the beds were so comfortable. I was able to sleep fantastically.

Absolutely lovely hotel! We booked it as a treat for my 40th birthday trip to Lisbon and it did not disappoint. Every single staff member we encountered was an absolute delight - so friendly and welcoming - room was great (lovely powerful shower and comfy bed), and hotel is in a nice central location. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options and there was an unlimited supply of coffee, port and pastries in the restaurant area at all hours which was a lovely touch. I really can’t praise this hotel enough it was wonderful!

A lovely hotel, great vibes and decor. The bottle of port in the room is a lovely touch. Some staff lovely, some less so - brusque interactions with one of the ladies working on breakfast, and a brief exchange with the woman working reception in the morning who was really quite unhelpful (I requested late check out as there had been an issue with our booking, meaning we had to sleep in a different hotel to the other half of our group … I was hoping for flexibility given this issue, the receptionist was unyielding and honestly, a little rude, which was disappointing given the circumstances).

Definitely the best hotel I can expect in Lisbon! It’s a five star service for sure. Nearly a five star interior design. love the design and history behind the hotel itself. The boutique lounge / breakfast place is lovely. Unlimited snacks / pastal da nata / drinks are provided. Breakfast is rich with many options. Bottle of water (complimentary for first batch) is provided. The doorman and all the staff are super helpful. Staying here for four days make me feel at home already. Need not to say the location is terrific. Our room is very quiet and you can see the tram from the balcony. Room is very spacious. Bathroom is a bit small but acceptable. Cannot be better for a stay. Will definitely stay here again next time.

* It’s a relatively short (~10 min) walk to the shops & restaurants * Meager breakfast options * The first floor room was a bit odd being able to see passers-by at the street level. As such we had to keep all the curtains closed. * Overall, it was a nice stay with good service, but next time I would try another hotel for a better room

Varina da Madragoa is a traditional restaurant in the Madragoa neighborhood, known for serving the best bacalhau a bras in town. The shredded cod sautéed with eggs and chips is a must-try, and what's even better is that they'll prepare it on the spot, even if it's not on the daily specials. The restaurant offers an authentic and rustic atmosphere, with accommodating and kind staff who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Me and my boyfriend went here for diner. The service from waiter Rui was amazing. He told us about Portugal and the food traditions and made sure our glasses were never empty. The streets were really cute and this was an absolute “core memory”. Would really recommend!

We were there as a couple during the week and stumbled across the restaurant by chance. It's a lovely little place, just as you would hope it to be. Both the interior and the tables on the street are wonderful. The food is very reasonably priced, fresh, and very well prepared. The menu is also clear and well organized. I would also like to emphasize the service and hospitality. The waiter was very attentive, friendly, and courteous. You could really feel the passion for good food, good service, and culture here. My Airbnb was right across from Varina, and as soon as I stepped outside, I was warmly greeted by Rui, who was setting up the patio for dinner. From our first conversation, he was kind and welcoming — a true gentleman. He shared some of the restaurant’s history with us and even gave us a quick tour inside. Fun fact: President Carter once dined here! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the food felt like something you’d enjoy at home — true comfort cuisine. We ordered the goat cheese with jam, tempura, cod rice, and Portuguese ham, along with the orange sangria. Everything was delicious! Just a heads-up: the portions are generous, so it’s best to order lightly or come with a group to share. What truly made the evening unforgettable was our waiter, Rui. He was incredibly thoughtful, plating each dish for us and speaking about the food with such genuine passion. His kindness and attentiveness stood out — he’s a rare gem in the hospitality world. This experience will stay with us. Thank you, Varina team!

This restaurant was very close to our apartment and we went for dinner as it looked so inviting. I had the best dinner I’ve had so far in Lisbon, I had the grilled salmon and my husband had the deep fried octopus, both of which were delicious. The service given by Rui was excellent, he explained the menu, gave us some history of the restaurant and gave us a taster of the green bean starter as he wanted us to see how good it was. The appetisers of bread, cheese, ham and pate were wonderful as was the mango dessert recommended by Rui. I would highly recommend a visit to Varina de Madragoa and I cannot praise Rui’s service highly enough, definitely a 10/10.

It boasts a wide selection of regional cheeses, dry-cured meats, canned goods, salt cod, and fine wines. The best butchery shop in Lisboa!! I went to try the fabled Jamon Iberico porco 50% and the platter cost was reasonable and worth it at 20€ with Abadia Ginza Liqueur as theicing on top of the cake made it the perfect savoury platter!! One of the best foods ever in Europe 🇪🇺💯

Manteigaria Silva is “butter shop” by name, codfish and pig shrine by vibe. A very cute shop to sample the famous Iberian pigs. We stopped in for cheese, got a dissertation on Portugal’s national identity via dried fish and acorn-fed black pigs. Apparently, these pigs are royalty. People speak of their genetics like they’re auditioning for Mensa. I say let the meat lovers worship their salty flesh, I’m just here for the cheese.

I was on a wine tour when I learned about this place. It is one of the business with historical importance in the city of Lisboa, operating over 100years. How cool is that! Sooooo many lists of meat and cheese produce, i could just get lost in all the selections they had. Must try the meat&cheese platter here, with wine of course. It was phenomenal. This store also sells wine, and the price was actually pretty nice.

I was attracted to the shop by the great flavor of ham as passing by the street back to the hotel. Before my trip to Portugal, there’s this Queijo Serra da Estrela that I determined to bring home as this is rare in the state and it’s a DOP product. So glad this shop carries the cheese. On display, it was a bigger size, probably 1kg. The staff checked for me and turned out they carried a smaller portion on the day. Lucky me! They also sell lots of different Iberian ham, unfortunately I can’t bring them home due to restrictions. However I did pick up two cans of sardines.

This wonderful Lisbon produce shop has a dizzying array of locally sourced cured meat/ sausages, aged jamon, cheeses, wines and liqeuers. We normally travel with a half empty suitcase which we invariably fill with local foods as gifts for friends and family (and for our own consumption too of course). Manteigaria Silva offered itself as the perfect one stop shop to do just that. The service staff spoke decent English and were very helpful, offering different samples of aged jamon and judging from our responses, offered their thoughtful suggestions. There were a couple of standing tables outside the shop under the awning for customers to tuck into their recent purchases if they so wished. A better option would be to head down to the Time Out Market near the waterfront where MS has a shop. Serving sizes there were generous and perfect for sharing among a small group. Their platter included a fig jam, almonds and a couple of pineapple wedges that truly enhanced the taste of both the jamon and cheese!

Mercado de Alvalade Sul is a vibrant covered market that stands as a beloved hub for the local community. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in an inviting atmosphere filled with fresh produce, from colorful fruits and vegetables to glistening fish and succulent meats. One of the highlights is Cantinho da Teresa, where you can find expertly sourced fish from Peniche and Sines; don’t miss out on asking Teresa for her famous sardine preparation!
Friendly neighbour shopping. Recommended

Fine place with bio stuff, a little bit pricey but I guess it's worth it

(Translated by Google) Over the years, Senhora Lurdes and Senhor António have developed excellent work, bringing to the market an offer rich in diversity and quality! Olives, fruits, vegetables, and more! I recommend that you visit and buy at the stall on the left, facing the market. You will meet Senhora Lurdes' niece and her husband who are now continuing the work of the previous generation! Absolutely fantastic service and prices.

(Translated by Google) Excellent Market, very well located and calm. It has everything good. But Mr. Carlos, the owner of the Florist, is 10 stars and has everything that concerns floral arrangements, plants, flowers. He is a good friend who I have known for over 15 years and who has always helped in the best and most difficult situations in life (floral arrangements for wakes and funerals). In this Market there are vegetables, fruits, Regional products and much more. I recommend. 10 stars. 🌺💐🌵🍀. 🥰😍❤👍 (Original) Excelente Mercado, muito bem situado e calmo. Tem de tudo bom. (Translated by Google) At Mr Luís's stall, I bought fresh mushrooms which I saw were no longer fit to eat. I don't know how to contact those responsible for the bank, since I can't go there now. I find it unacceptable that they should sell mushrooms in these conditions. They should pay more attention to what they are selling... Restaurant
Nestled in the charming hilly neighborhood of Ajuda, Casa do Peixe offers a delightful dining experience that transports you to a world of rustic charm. Housed in a building reminiscent of an old warehouse, this traditional seafood restaurant boasts high ceilings adorned with lovely wooden beams and classic blue and white tiles that add to its authentic ambiance.
Food was simple yet delicious. Good value for money
Claritta S — Google review
Little expensive, it can be a few euro down. Fish was decent. Quality is normal Portugaese restaurant. I can come back here coz convenient for after you shop at the market. I’ll try something different next time, it might change my review. Waiters don’t speak English. Drink has no price, you have to ask. No card, only cash. 13:30 many fish is already gone so it’s better go there noon.
DAIAN J — Google review
A unique place serving uncommon boiled and grilled fish like pampo. Fish is always fresh. Decor is simple. Obvious downside is the high price - a simple lunch with a boiled fish, water and coffee will cost 20€. Still worths a visit.

Hostel
Nestled in the heart of Lisbon, Hostel do Castelo offers an inviting retreat for backpackers and travelers alike. Its prime location near the stunning Miradouro Castelo de Sao Jorge allows guests to soak in breathtaking views of the city while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere. The hostel features spacious 8-bed dorms equipped with individual lamps and multiple sockets, ensuring comfort during your stay. For those seeking a bit more privacy, the triple bedrooms come with their own bathrooms.
The staff was amazing! Our flight got cancelled, we sent the proof and they waived the cancellation fee. Very nice people.
Ştefania B — Google review
Sadly we only managed to last 24 hours in this hostel before having to book another place…I understand it is very very cheap so was not expecting much, but the room itself was smaller than expected, the walls specifically in both the bedroom and bathroom were filthy / mouldy - because of this we were put off using things like the pillows provided, and we also woke up to a puddle of random water on the floor in the morning. I’ll admit the location is great and the receptionist was very nice to us when we arrived and when we explained why we were leaving - but sadly for us this did not make up for the stay as a whole and sleepless night.
Anonymous — Google review
AVOID!! This dump is absolutely awful!! The sheets are clean but the pillow stinks like rancid sweat. You do get a clean towel, but you DO NOT get the advertised and paid for breakfast (“from 7:00-9:00”), not do you get any coffee or tea, desk, chair, hair dryer, TV, soap, shampoo or antibacterial (all promised). The room looked NOTHING like the photos. The sole employee wanted cash only and was seen only once again during the week-long stay. The rest of the time, the office is closed and locked.
Joe E — Google review
It's a cheap hostel located in a very beautiful part of Lisbon. I recommend staying in the triple bedroom so you will get a private bathroom. There's no air conditioning but at least there's a fan in the bedroom. There's a fridge and a microwave oven outside of the rooms that the guests can use. The receptionists are very kind.
Marta S — Google review
Not good at all.. the room is so poor we had a bedbugs.. not clean.. the shared bathroom is horible like you were in a kind of prison. Bad experince.😪😪😪😪 The service was good but the hostel is horibel.
Manar A — Google review
Simple and enough comfy for backpackers hostel. Great price! +++ Location is amazing! Quiet and near the beautiful Alfama. If you are unable to walk up on the hill there is an elevator in nearest Pingo Doce. ++ 8-bed dorm room is so big and has an amazing view! 3 sockets and 1 mini-lamp for each bed + The stuff is super-friendly and open-minded. - - - You need to ring a bell every time you want to get in from outside - - No mirrors in the rooms (I'm a girl 😁) - The lockers are not to convenient (hope they will change them to new one soon)
Ksenia B — Google review
Clean and nice room and had everything we needed, quiet place with lots of interesting streets around. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to nearby restaurants, public transportation. Free coffee and tea
Lia K — Google review
Everything about this place was amazing, from view to the staff and even the location. It’s built at the heart of Lisbon and is minutes away from major tourist attractions and for the price it’s a steal. Definitely bringing my family here again soon. 👍🏾

If you're wandering through the vibrant streets of Lisbon, make sure to stop by Bifana do Bairro for an unforgettable culinary experience. This charming spot specializes in bifanas, which are succulent slices of grilled pork marinated in a flavorful paprika stock and served in a soft bap with sweet mustard and chili. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a favorite among locals who return time after time for that perfect bite.
Great bifana spot in Lisbon! Super tasty, quick service, and surprisingly not crowded. I’m really curious why this place isn’t in the travel guides yet – it’s definitely a hidden surprise!
Maximilian G — Google review
Just opened. The best Bifana I have ever had. Amazing traditional place.
Aidan N — Google review
Before knowing this place I did not liked Bifana at all, after I tried this one I fell in love for it. It's a place I highly recommend anyone going, besides the Bifanas the shrimp rissole, it's amazing, with large shrimps inside. The decoration and the atmosphere of the place are well made, and the staff gives a great energy to the place.
Guilherme P — Google review
Delicious, juicy bifanas served just right – tender pork and fresh bread with classic Portuguese flavor. They also offer rissóis de camarão, pastéis de bacalhau, and croquetes – all crispy, homemade, and full of taste. Warm, welcoming staff and a super local, laid-back atmosphere. The kind of place people from the neighborhood come back to again and again.
Francisco B — Google review
