Hotel
Serviced accommodation
Dear Lisbon - Gallery House is a stylish and artistic guesthouse offering elegant quarters with balconies or terraces. The collection of town houses provides an atmosphere of comfort and historical charm, such as the Bordalo house in Rafae. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly, providing excellent customer service including a warm welcome even for late check-ins. Although there is no lift yet, plans are in place to install one soon.
This is such a lovely hotel !! At my check in, the receptionist sat down with me and gave me loads of amazing recommendations. I was in Lisbon for my birthday and the team made it so special and even brought a little cake out for me at breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Lots of a great quality food. The room was perfect, super nice location, lots of restaurants in the area and public transport was also easily accessible from the hotel. 10/10 would recommend Dear Lisbon Gallery House ! :)
Hannah S — Google review
I loved our stay at Dear Lisbon! The service was really great. The staff is very attentive, helpful, and bilingual (Portuguese & English). We arrived early and were able to relax in the lounge area with our cappuccinos (c/o of the concierge), and leave our bags to explore. When we returned, our bags were in our room, which was very clean, comfortable, modern, and spacious with a great view and amenities. The cherry on top was the delightful breakfast in the courtyard! Nearby, within walking distance, are a handful of restaurants/cafes (we tried Folks on the corner and it did not disappoint), a laundromat, and more! A perfect centralized place to stay in Lisbon.
Brittney R — Google review
Fabulous hotel with lots of quirky and arty features. Brilliant location to get about the city either by tram, bus or walking. Lots of bars and restaurants around the area. The staff pride themselves on their high standard of service. There are many options for breakfast and the team work extra hard to make sure everyone is happy. It makes for a good atmosphere and a good start to your day and is a chance to share experiences and make friends. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
Phil B — Google review
Dear Lisbon - Gallery House is an amazing hotel! The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. The location couldn’t have been better — the iconic Tram 28 passes right in front of the hotel, making it super easy to explore the city. The staff were warm and welcoming! A special shoutout goes to the manager, Tessa, who went above and beyond with her kindness and helpful recommendations. We would absolutely stay here again!
AA N — Google review
My stay at Dear Lisbon Gallery House was nothing short of perfect. The service here truly sets it apart from any other hotel I’ve stayed in. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for, particularly Januka. Every interaction felt genuine — they were warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was offering great recommendations for local restaurants, helping me navigate Lisbon, or just checking in to make sure I had everything I needed, their hospitality made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and beautifully designed, but it’s the team here that makes the experience unforgettable. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and take pride in creating a wonderful stay. I would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend Dear Lisbon Gallery House to anyone visiting the city — especially if you value exceptional, heartfelt service.
Farah N — Google review
fantastic hotel and extremely friendly staff that is willing to go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one! a special thank you goes to Samuel for his loving and caring approach! the hotel is located perfectly just at one of the cable car stops of number 28. the hotel is surrounded by pretty cafes, restaurants and a grocery shop.
RS — Google review
Nice little boutique hotel with a great location just outside the most turisty area, and right next to tram 28e stop (the famous tram line). Perfect place to stay if you want a stay in middle of the old town, but not in the middle of the worst war zone.
Stefan L — Google review
Super nice hotel, breakfast was amazing and the room was comfortable. The location is a little further from the touristy stuff but that made it nice. The staff there is so amazing and make you feel comfortable at all times.

Chalet d'Ávila Guest House is a stylish retreat nestled in the heart of Lisbon, offering 54 chic rooms that feature elegant parquet flooring and shared bathroom facilities. This charming guesthouse is conveniently located near a vibrant shopping district and just a short drive from popular attractions like the Lisbon Zoo and Oceanario de Lisboa. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property, as well as a delightful continental breakfast to start their day off right.
Loved our stay here! Wonderful, friendly staff. Came in from an overnight flight and was able to check in early to freshen up. Staff also encouraged us to have breakfast, which we appreciated. Room was clean and beautiful, also had a nice balcony! We had a shared bathroom but it never felt like it since it was always kept so clean. Place felt nice and homey! Breakfast was super delicious. Would stay here again!!
Anne M — Google review
First time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience! The place is super clean and the staff are really friendly. It’s right beside the metro, which made it super easy to get around — and it’s even on the same line as the airport, which was super convenient. Breakfast was okay, not a huge variety but honestly better than nothing. Our room was really spacious and even had a balcony, which was a nice surprise. We were a bit skeptical about the shared bathrooms at first, but they were always very clean and well-maintained by the staff. Overall, we were really happy with our stay. Compared to hotel prices, this place is an absolute bargain. Would definitely stay here again!
Neil ( — Google review
I stayed for 2 nights in two different rooms. Both were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The housekeeping was consistent and of good quality. The reception staff were very welcoming, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile, which made the stay even more pleasant. Overall, I had a very good experience and would recommend this hotel. I realized I had missed writing this feedback on Booking.com earlier.
Elchin A — Google review
Best hotel for travelers! The location made the whole city easily accessible by Metro, and was an easy trip to and from the airport as well. The breakfast was great, reception super helpful, and accommodations were simple but perfect for a lower-maintenance traveler. I was traveling with another young woman, and we both felt completely safe in the hotel. The shared bathrooms still allow for complete privacy.

Nightmare. WARNING to anyone considering this hotel this: Just book a hostel for half the price and significantly less noise. This was the worst place I've ever stayed in my life, you will not sleep. The good: the staff is very friendly, the location is close to subway stops, easy to get around, free breakfast and coffee, the rooms are clean. The horrible: there is NO noise control whatsoever in this building. I don't know if I had a particularly bad room due to its specific location since I'm not a light sleeper, yet throughout the night I am woken up constantly, not by people talking, but by very loud bangs, CRASHES, etc. The staff do not put ANY effort into enforcing their so called "quiet hours between 11:00pm to 7:00am". The staff don't seem to care that guests are LITERALLY SCREAMING. They let children run around the floors (feels like children should not be allowed in what is essentially a hostel). Ear plugs do nothing. It confounds me as to why nothing has been done about these very blatantly, obvious issues? I don't get it, the employees must know how noisy it is. The entire purpose of booking somewhere is to have somewhere to sleep. I basically did not sleep. I probably slept 4 hours a night MAX on average. Not a single good sleep.
A S — Google review
Very good, spacious room. The shared bathrooms were impeccably clean all the time. The breakfast was very good. The location can’t be better - it’s just one step away from Sladannha metro station. If you have a mobility problem, ask for a lower floor. The stair can be challenging.
Ihor Z — Google review
My stay at Chalet d’Avila – Lisbon We had a very pleasant stay at Chalet d’Avila, a charming place located not far from the center of Lisbon. I was immediately drawn to its typical architectural style — both simple and elegant — as well as its neat and welcoming interior decoration. Despite being close to a busy street, the nights were quiet. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, with everything needed to start the day off right. The bathrooms are shared, but that wasn’t a problem at all: they are cleaned several times a day and remained spotless throughout our stay. The overall atmosphere of the place is friendly, and you can tell that the staff is committed to offering a warm welcome to travelers. A simple, well-kept place where you quickly feel at ease. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys small-scale accommodations with real character.
Noel ( — Google review
The staff is very welcoming and friendly, my room was very beautiful and with a really good bed. The breakfast kept me going for hours and there was also free coffee and cookies and fruit offered 24/7. The bathrooms are shared but I never had to wait to use one. They’re also sparklingly clean, as is the whole guesthouse. The soundproofing is a bit non-existent so if you’re a light sleeper, you better bring a pair of earplugs, and there is a night club next door that goes until 5!!! The guesthouse is very easy to reach from the airport. Only 20 mins by metro.

Casa do Barão is an elegant guesthouse located in an 18th-century rowhouse in the heart of Lisbon. This tranquil oasis offers a blend of antique and modern decor across its 12 uniquely designed rooms. Guests can enjoy a relaxing stay with amenities such as a garden where breakfast is served, a swimming pool for lazy afternoons, and welcoming common areas including a living room and library.
This is an amazing magical space in Lisbon. It’s a great location, close to many attractions, and the people and service here is superb. Their homemade breakfast is delicious and they leave cakes and snacks out all day. They have an “honestly bar” -you can grab a glass of champagne and drink it by their cute pool whenever you want. The view from my room is amazing and it’s nice to sit on the little balcony with a cup of espresso and watch Lisbon go by. Definitely recommend!
Zanny_rose — Google review
An amazing hotel with exceptional hospitality! Joana and the rest of the team were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location is convenient and on a quiet street. The room was wonderful and the breakfast is delicious. Every day they have freshly baked items and in the afternoon/evening you can also enjoy baked items such as an apple tart and cakes. The breakfast area and small pool are lovely. I sat by the pool at night a few times and it was so peaceful and pretty. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!
Amanda D — Google review
We LOVED Casa do Barao! The hosts were so personable, friendly, helpful and caring. We couldn’t say enough good things about them. They were great from the time they greeted us and everyday through checkout. The breakfast spread and treats available throughout the day and evening ( including the Port wine after dinner) were EXCELLENT. The property is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. It is also in a perfect location for seeing all the tourist areas. If you’re going to Lisbon, I’d recommend you check out Casa do Barao.
B B — Google review
I love this place! And I almost reluctantly tell you about this perfect spot to stay in Lisbon. Madalena is warm, hospitable, and sincere. The rooms are lovely with fine cotton sheets, and a peaceful vibe. A delicious breakfast, and homemade cakes in the afternoon, make it feel like you are visiting your favourite cool cousin or aunt. The location is very central, and I could see the ocean from my balcony. Only thing to note is it can be a bit noisy in the street on hot summer weekend nights, but the tranquil garden, and relaxing vibe make it a minor matter. Highly recommend, I better book again now… enjoy!
Daphne R — Google review
Casa do Barao is a fantastic hotel. Great location on a quiet street, nicely furnished and comfortable room with a great sitting area overlooking the beautiful, tropical garden. Wonderful breakfast. Jasmin, the receptionist, was kind, efficient and very helpful with restaurant suggestions and transportation arrangements. Thanks for a wonderful stay in Lisboa. We'll be back!
Adam S — Google review
This is definitely a five star stay for me. The hotel is a converted town house with all the charm and character of an old house. Including many of the original features, furniture, art and books. There's a small lush garden with a delightful pool, which is shady and cool. The breakfast is a feast with plenty of choice. In the afternoons tea and cakes are left out for guests to enjoy, which is a lovely touch.
Nuni R — Google review
Had an amazing stay in Casa do Barao. It was such a unique place that it felt like I was staying in a home away from home. The rooms are beautifully furnished, to reflect the “old style” building. Loved the complimentary port and continental breakfast. Quiet and lush garden with the pool was incredibly peaceful in such a busy part of town. Great location as well - connected to everything really, and amazing restaurants close by. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.
Ben W — Google review
So much to like about Casa do Barao. The location is both on a quiet street but also right next to the action. The rooms are extremely comfortable with great AC and shower pressure. Our room had a nice French style balcony. Love the continental breakfast and all the pastries available throughout the day. The plunge pool with the garden in the back is a welcome oasis. A hidden gem and top of our list when we return to Lisbon!

Nestled in the heart of Lisbon, Castilho House is a charming bed and breakfast that offers an inviting atmosphere for travelers seeking comfort without breaking the bank. Located just a short stroll from the bustling shopping district and key attractions like Praca do Comercio, this smoke-free haven features eight spacious rooms adorned with lovely wooden floors. Guests can enjoy a delightful continental breakfast served until 11 AM, perfect for those leisurely mornings.
A great place to stay while visiting Lisbon. Less than 5 min walk from metro..15/20 min walk from city centre. Staff is really nice..clean rooms and comfortable beds
John Y — Google review
This is only a renovated apartment, with as many rooms as they could fit in. The rooms are stylish, but very badly isolated. So very noisy. Staff was not very helpful, and breakfast very basic.
Robrecht V — Google review
We had a very pleasant stay for a small Budget. We rented a superior room, it was big enough to fit two full grown ups without the need for more space. Breakfast is served till 11 and perfectly fits for lazy people Like me :d. The host serves traditional Continental breakfast but you do not miss anything. One Note: in our superior room the bathroom is not completely seperated from your bedroom so you are not fully on your own. Room 4/5 (because of the bathroom) Service 5/5 Location 5/5 (marques the pombal) We are surely coming back
Marcel G — Google review
This place is a little gem. It's really a super bed & breakfast but the service and facilities are identical to a hotel. The breakfast itself is basic continental style, I loved the fresh bread. The rooms are probably larger than an average hotel one. There were wooden floors throughout which is so much better than carpet. Finally the staff were fantastic and very helpful. All this is just a short walk from the metro station so connecions to both rail, bus and airport are simple.
Colin B — Google review
Modern, 20 min walk from the town and super clean! Staff were very attentive and always on hand. You can check in with a code you get given so it’s helpful if you arrive late ( reception closes at 9pm). Fab breakfast (if you like pastries you’re in for a treat). Only downside is the bathroom that isn’t separated from the room so any noises and smells become evident quite quickly. Overall we had a great stay.
Private — Google review
Perfect for a short stay in Lisbon. Good location close to stores, restaurants, squares... Very, very cheap!!! Four nights with breakfast €140 for two. Awesome!!! Of course you will find yourself lacking many commodities like a private bathroom, new daily towels, proper doors, blinds, cleaning services... Fantastic stay after all. If you're on a tight budget it will give you room to experience the unbelievable food of the city, jazz clubs, life fados, upscale wines and all the fabulous things this city has to offer. What a memorable holiday!
Carol E — Google review
No service or so ever. Rooms where not clean, found bugs in the bed and floor. They didn’t clean the rooms for the nights that we stayed. We had to wait 2 hours for checking in the day of our arrival. Not recommended at all, there are better places to stay in Lisbon.

Family and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms were clean and cozy, the shower was hot and strong, and the balcony was a great plus. I typically avoid concierge suggestions but all of Pedro’s recommendations were perfect and greatly added to our Lisbon experience. Breakfast was light but had enough variety and heartiness to get us through long mornings of walking. 100% recommend.

We had the BEST experience at Casa do Mercado! The rooms were so beautifully styled and well kept, but the highlight was the service! The entire team was so welcoming and accommodating. We cannot recommend staying here enough!

Literally felt like a literal queen staying here, it was so nice, lush and it smelt amazing!!! From all the staff to the delicious breakfast everything was 10/10!! I can wait to go back, so if your lucky enough to stay and they have the availability take this as your sign and book rn!! Its in such a prime location so you wont miss a thing! There’s a gym and co-working space near by as well as a train station and huge market so go for it and I can assure you you’ll be glad you did!!
Hailey D — Google review
I personally feel bad about giving this hotel a one-star review. The hotel was in a great location, the owner was friendly, and the breakfast - even if a little limited in variety was of good quality. The rooms were nicely laid out, but mine smelt a little of damp and smoke (or perhaps stale). Please note that on the 1st and 2nd rooms, you would be unable to access if you have mobility problems due to steep stairs Unless you sleep like a brick AVOID this hotel. The walls and ceilings are paper thin, and you will hear everything. This includes hearing suitcases drag across the floor at 7am, hearing a couple argue for 2 hours at 1 - 3 am, and when you get back to sleep, hearing water gushing from every pipe when people shower.
Max W — Google review
The people who work there are kind and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The location is great and makes wandering the city easy.
RGB — Google review
An excellent, clean and beautiful hotel. They checked in even earlier than the official time, even though I had just asked to leave our suitcases. Very friendly owners - they explained everything and sent us lots of recommendations. The only major downside is the noise from the street. It’s very loud until about 3 am and then trams start running around 7–8 am. If you close the windows and turn on the air conditioning, you can’t hear the street, but I personally don’t like sleeping with the windows fully closed. Other than that, everything was great. The location is very convenient - just a five-minute walk to the main square, with lots of nice cafes and public transport nearby. At breakfast, they serve delicious homemade pastéis
Anna V — Google review
We’ve spent 2 nights here and absolutely loved it! The rooms are so cute and decorated with love, the staff is super friendly and the breakfast was amazing! Location is 10/10, you can walk everywhere pretty fast because it’s so central. Absolutely would recommend! :)
Fiona L — Google review
Fabulous find! Great rooms, air con, massive hot showers and a good breakfast. Staff super friendly and helpful, particularly if you like Fado music. If you arrive after hours the accommodation door isn’t obvious so check the photos. Also, don’t worry that you can’t bolt the door from the inside. You can’t open from the outside without a key. Good access to the trains, Metro or walk to many great eating drinking and sightseeing spots. Enjoy.

Nestled on the third floor of a charming 18th-century building, Azulejos Cais Sodré B&B offers stunning city views and an unbeatable location in central Lisbon. Just steps away from the river and vibrant nightlife, this cozy retreat is situated in one of the city's trendiest neighborhoods. Guests can easily explore nearby attractions like Time Out Market and Carmo Archaeological Museum, all within walking distance.
Clean, great value and a good location. Catarina is very welcoming and helpful. Will be sure to return again.

It was definitely not clean. The towels they gave were torn. The heating was very inadequate. The hair dryer was so dirty that I felt disgusted when I used it. Although I stayed in the back room, it was a noisy night because it was located on Pink Street. I can't guess the front rooms. But very good location, authentic building, nice and helpfull staff.

The room we booked was super basic. The room door does not close because the regular door latch is broken and only way to close it, is to use the deadlock. No counter top tables or any where you can place or hang your stuff. The bathroom is private but separate from the room and it has sewer smell. Breakfast is basic toast, bread, jam, cheap mortadella, sweetened yogurt and coffee. Very expensive for what you pay.
AGPM — Google review
Location is the only plus, room was clean but in the morning very loud because of the breakfast in the kitchen and in the evening you can’t open the window coz it’s extremely loud on the streets. Bathroom was clean but with extremely small shower! Description of the place “superior-suite, bathroom, city view (external)” didn’t make me think that the bathroom is outside of the room, located between two other rooms so basically you have no privacy! During whole 4 nights stay, I was contacted twice by the owner about payment - find it a bit unprofessional as I have paid everything when I have reserved the place. If you are coming to Lisbon to party that might be the place for you, if however you want to rest……there are much better options.

2 Stars may be generous given that the only thing in it's favour is the location. We were excited to arrive in our taxi at the end of Pink Street and a block away from the Time Out Market, so right in the heart of the vibrant night life area. The self check-in instructions came through on WhatsApp, which were clear and straight forward. The stairs to the third floor weren't a problem for us, but may be for some, so should have been highlighted. We had booked what was described as a Superior Suite with a picture showing a large room with double bed. However, our room was small with minimal furniture and what looked like 2 camp beds. A suite it was not, and if it was superior, I struggle to imagine what it was being compared to. I have stayed in better rooms in hostels. The beds were really uncomfortable and one was bent in the middle, we both ached in the mornings. There was a chair, but it was broken. Storage was a flimsy rail with camping type shelves hanging from it. The shower was tiny and smelled. Breakfast was set out each morning to help yourself and was pleasant enough. It would have been naive to expect a superior suite for what we paid, but this was hostel standard at best.
Steve Q — Google review
We were drawn to this B&B by it's incorrect pictures of a reception desk for what we were told was a hotel suite with breakfast. This is actually an "AirBnB type" self-service, short term room rental. What we found when we arrived was a cramped room with minimal furniture one would expect at a hostel. The bathroom was foul smelling of backed up sewage. We waited an hour outside in the rain, trying to reach the proprietor for entry instructions. There was no person there to meet us or let us in. Then we were informed the next morning that they expected us to leave balance in cash with no written receipt, after giving them our credit card information when we booked. We were told this was a possible scam by the tourist police and should not ever pay a hotel bill balance by cash without a signed receipt. The balance was paid by our credit card through the original booking agency. We would have paid this twice with no written proof. Beware.

Nestled in the vibrant Principe Real area of Lisbon, Flores Guest House offers a chic and comfortable retreat for travelers seeking an authentic experience. This stylish guesthouse features well-appointed quarters, some equipped with kitchenettes, ensuring guests have all they need for a delightful stay. With complimentary Wi-Fi available throughout the property, staying connected is effortless.
Flores is very close to main tourist attractions and Rato metro station, the room is cleaned every day (unless you hang the "don't disturb" notice), staff is very helpful and friendly. The room size is OK but the bathroom was quite small indeed. Perhaps it's because it's located in the historic building, also the staircase is steep and narrow (fyi, no lift). Our room faced Praça das Flores, which is surrounded by bars and tapas places, and it can be loud until late hours during the weekend. Other than that, everything was OK and the area felt very safe🌻

I am staying here for 4 nights with my husband and baby and we were greeted warmly and were offered a complimentary bottle of water. We were shown to our room, which was across the street from the reception building - the receptionist helped us with our luggage there and even carried one of them up. The stairs to go to the rooms are steep and uneven so extra caution is required when carrying things up and down - I do not recommend this guesthouse to anyone with mobility issues for this reason. It is also a challenge if you have a lot of things to carry. We booked the Classic Queen Studio and the room is spacious enough for the 3 of us as we are able to set up our pack n play for our baby. It is also clean and the bed is comfortable. It has a small kitchen that includes a fridge, microwave, sink and basic dishes. There’s also a coffee maker and kettle. The bathroom is very small and the shower gel in the shower is very watery and not useable - luckily we travel with our own toiletries so this isn’t a problem for us. The reason I took stars away is because of the shower. It is COLD. It got colder as I showered and I actually had to stop after a couple minutes because it felt like an ice bath. I had my husband call the 2 receptionist numbers that they provide in the room but no one answered. So my husband walked to the receptionist building and told them about the cold shower. The receptionist said every room has it’s own boiler and it should be warm - he said he would let maintenance know but it could not be checked until tomorrow because of the time (it was 930 pm). What was bothersome was that he did not even bother to come to the room to check it out or offer any other remedy (ie. new room or compensation). So I had to finish my shower in the very cold water. Another reason for the lower rating is the NOISE. If there is a room above you, you can hear every step - especially if they are wearing shoes. We awoke to loud walking and construction from next door (they started hammering pretty early in the morning). We also were the first unit at the top of the stairs so we could hear everyone coming in and out - the door slams when it’s closed. This is not a 4 star hotel - I’m not sure why it is labelled as that on Google. I’ve stayed at 5 star resorts and hotels around the world. This is a 2-3 star guesthouse/apartment. Update: My husband took a shower the next morning and the water was warm. The water temp was up and down though, which makes for an uncomfortable shower. They also did reach out to us the next day via Whatsapp and apologized. They moved us to a room 1 floor up that was less noisy and had a warm shower. It was also slightly larger. You can still hear the construction but it’s not as obvious. It was a bit of a nuisance to have to move rooms because of all the luggage we had but we’re glad they accommodated our needs. For this reason, I would rate their service 5 stars.

The location of Flores is superb, near (just a 2 minute walk) a small park with a jumping nightlife, great restaurants and bars. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the bedroom and bathroom were spotless and the bed was very, very comfortable. Also, a great deal for what is provided.

Liked · Super nice staff, lovely location, comfy and clean room :) Disliked · Its not a bad thing, just something to keep in mind - its not accessible by metro, and only bus. its also in the hilly part of town, so be prepared to walk some hills. There is a little bit of wear and tear, but for me this was not a big deal.

A straight 10 for this property. Evrything was exceptional. I was sceptical when I booked because the prices were relatively cheap than other options but for my surprise it was the best stay i have ever been lately. I highly recommend this property to all who are visiting Lisbon.

I spent one night at this beautiful guest house. I literally felt like Emily in Portugal specially because of the room’s view from the balcony. When I arrived, the woman at the hotel reception welcomed me so nicely! She helped me bring my luggage to the room and guided me. She even gave me a map and shared about famous spots near the guest house. The room was clean and equipped with fridge, a small coffee machine, kettle, an air conditioner and a cable tv ( although I don’t care about tv , it’s probably nice to have for someone who enjoys it) . They even have a mini garden in the 1st floor where you can chill out or have breakfast and talking about breakfast they also provide it but I didn’t choose the breakfast option. One night costed me around 113.4 euros ( as of May 2025) On the day of check out, I delayed the checked out by 30 minutes but the guest house was kind enough to let it slide.

Great location and great value. I had a room in the building in the park. Even though it gets very lively at night, my room was still nice and quiet. I enjoyed my stay.

Casa do Príncipe is a high-end bed-and-breakfast that offers a blend of 19th-century charm and modern amenities. Located less than 7 minutes away from popular areas like Bairro Alto, Chiado, and Liberty Avenue, this royalty-inspired accommodation boasts well-appointed rooms with balconies and free Wi-Fi. Guests can expect spacious rooms with three different styles to choose from.
We had a wonderful one night stay here! The room decor is wonderful, the check-in staff are so personable, meeting us at the street to help us with the luggage and showing us the features of the room. I love that it also had a little history story with it, a very charming touch. The breakfast had a good selection for the European style continental breakfast and was being restocked. The little quirks and minor imperfections were equally made up for in style and service - this is Europe after all! I’m thankful they had an elevator, despite it being small. Location can’t be beat! We would definitely stay here again.

Looks nothing like the “hotel” on the images. Instead of a large/ spacious beautifully decorated room, our room was tiny, with a sticky smell and a retrospectively build bathroom (showering there means it’s getting hot in the actual room). They charge an unannounced 20euro “late check in fee” the … for what? That we use the room less than we pay for? Room in not great condition either with mold in the bathroom (see images). Breakfast very basic (with orange juice (fresh) being the highlight). Bed was comfy enough for one night sleep but room not well isolated, with noise from the street to be heard inside

Casa do Príncipe is a bed & breakfast option. Well situated in a great neighborhood. The park in front is a great spot with a permanent bar that allows to relax. A few walks east and you are in a great tourist area with amazing views. The "hotel" again is not a hotel and don't have high expectations for it. It is a building that a floor became bed & breakfast. Great water pressure, great service and clean. Room in back is quiet. I assume from facing front is noisy due to park and street traffic. Breakfast: decent but nothing amazing. Single with great strong coffee, fresh orange juice (best I have had), boiled eggs, a choice of fruits, yogurt, cereal, breads (2 to 3 choices), cheese and ham (1 choice of each). It was absolutely delightful to wake up and high such breakfast available. Stairs: it is a menace but carefully walking up and down is possible. Elevator is old style. Overall: I recommend this place for affordable stay.

Booked the hotel based on the beautifully staged photos of clean and classic room. Apparently the rooms don’t look like on the photos online, they are old and and stinky, the bathrooms are a joke. There is mold in the shower and the rest looks very old an dusty. Biggest issue, we arrived late at night, the hotel called us the same morning, asking for our our time of arrival and then said that we would ha e to pay 20€ late check-in fee, which was not mentioned at all on the website, booking terms or through the platform we booked (Hotel 2night). We told them that we will arrive at around 12pm, they called us 5x times and texted us between 11pm and 12:15 to ask when we arrive, really unprofessional. And the upon arrival, they even added a city tax to the late night fee which was actually included in the booking price. Also the breakfast is a curation of disgusting ham and cheese, bad bread and sugary convenience goods. Never going to stay again at this hotel, can really not recommend it to anyone.

JUST AWFUL - STAY AWAY Location was THE ONLY good part about this place. THE ONLY The first room was dingy. It was scary to think that management/owner thinks this is acceptable on any level. The other room we got was no better. Maybe a tiny tad. Embarrassing to even let people stay in rooms like this. They promote is as "historical rooms" when in fact it's has more of a neglected hostel vibe. Fake vent in an uncomfortably put in bathroom, leaking shower, 2 hangers for two people! Broken elevator for 3 days, so we had to drag our luggage downstairs from 3 flights of stairs ourselves. No one to help. No good accommodations as far as breakfast. Stale baked goods and cold coffee. Internet was off EVERY NIGHT and it was impossible to have anyone explain why and fix it. Towels are old and not soft at all. At the price we paid for this room, we could have had a true 5 star hotel in the USA.

Mold all over the bathroom. Toilet doesn't flush if the room above us is showering. Doors don't seal the sound well, we can hear inside the rooms as we walk by. Lobby and enterance smell of urine. Would not stay here again. We ended up getting a different hotel for a few nights to avoid staying in this one.

I want to start with the good which was that the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. I had to make a call and my phone was giving me problems so on of the staff members let me use their cellphone. The room was very nice and spacious and I found the beds to be very comfortable. Plus our room had air conditioning which was a big plus. Now for the not so great. I guess for the price and considering it was listed as a 4 star hotel I expected shampoo and conditioner in the shower, good WiFi (it was good at times but got down to less than 5 mbps for uploads and downloads for several hours each day), and a better breakfast (there was only one fruit option and the only egg option was hard boiled eggs). The other drawback is that staff are only there from 8am to 9pm so if you need something when they aren’t there you are out of luck. From what I can tell there is no dedicated after hours number. Overall, I wouldn’t hate staying there again but I definitely would try to find other accommodations first.

2-star AirBnB, not a 4 star hotel. We had a royal suite, which did look similar to the pictures, but a MUCH more run down. The rest of our experience unfortunately was sub par. Despite being billed as a 4 star hotel/bed and breakfast, the experience was much more similar to an AirBnB situated in an old home. There is a very simple small bathroom with a single shower, ours did not include a bathtub. There are none of the classic extras included with a hotel such as extra toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc. The bed is very firm and pillows very thin. My wife developed neck pain after sleeping in the bed for one night. The rooms have very poor noise isolation, and between the loud construction next door and the noise of other occupants, particularly during breakfast, it was a noisy stay and difficult to sleep in. We paid for a room with a balcony...the balcony is about 1 foot wide, and overlooks an ugly street, dumpsters, and active construction. Better to just keep the windows closed. The breakfast is also pretty poor. There is a small amount of fruit salad (only had melon for our stay) and some cold deli meat slices (bologne and cheese). There is a carafe of coffee, hot water, and milk. At least the orange juice tastes freshly squeezed. Really this place is a bare minimum stay with no amenties worth mentioning. For example, they have only two clothing irons and only one ironing board. We discovered this when my wife asked to use the iron...she was given an iron, but told that another guest has the ironing board, so she was instructed to just iron her clothes on the bed. One benefit is the location, which is nearby several restaurants and bus stops, as well as a botanical garden. The building itself does not have much direction as to where to go to sign in, so we had to wander a bit to make sure it was the correct location. Overall it was a very disappointing stay, especially because we expected a four star hotel. If your main goal is to stay in a royal appearing room, then I suppose it suffices. But if you have any expectations other than that, you will likely be disappointed.

Casa Amora is a stylish and culturally themed B&B located in a leafy, central neighborhood of Lisbon. The guesthouse offers chic rooms and suites, some with kitchens, providing self-contained living spaces. The homely and inviting guestrooms feature cozy linens and heritage-style furnishings, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Guests can enjoy the pretty courtyard garden for a relaxed setting to savor home-cooked weekend brunches.
Loved staying at Casa Amora. The location is great, really close to the metro and far enough away from the main centre so you get some peace, really felt like I was more of a local than a tourist. Supermarket is really close by and the little park is a perfect spot to enjoy. The studio was really well decorated and I loved having the mezzanine to separate the bedroom in the space. Very clean. I was grateful that I could opt out of the breakfast option as I prefer that. The team were super responsive to any questions. I can’t wait to stay here again.

We stayed at Casa Amora Studios in October 2024 and stayed again in June 2025 on another trip to Lisbon because the service, location, and studios are all so wonderful. First, Paulo, who runs the hotel, is extremely friendly, responsive, and puts in a lot of effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He provides fantastic recommendations for things to see and do in and around Lisbon. He’s just fantastic to work with. Second, the location is really wonderful. Right next to a beautiful park, steps away from a grocery store and metro station, and within a 15 minute walk to major attractions. There are also restaurants and cafes around. Finally, each studio is uniquely and individually decorated, and has its own personality. They are very homey and comfortable, and equipped with dishes, a coffee machine, and mini fridges. Overall, we very highly recommend Casa Amora Studios to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming stay in a wonderful location in Lisbon.

Wonderful, quiet, and central! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A cozy, practical little place that feels very homely with its nice decor and a bed bigger than average in Portugal. The location is perfect: a charming square at the doorstep, restaurants around the corner, and just 100m from the center – yet still peaceful. Communication was great, and we’d definitely return. The kitchen is a bit small for serious cooking, but with Lisbon’s amazing food, you won’t miss it!

Great little apartment with everything we needed. Lovely breakfast and always delivered at the time requested. Nice quiet area near a park and kiosk (for coffee, drinks, and snacks). Nice little local bar just steps from the apartment (not noisy). Garbage in the area seems to be picked up fairly late at night and can be a bit noisy, but only lasts a couple of minutes; not a problem.

We loved our stay here. The location is just out of the way enough to be quiet and special yet walking distance to the main districts. The service is awesome. Very attentive. Hand delivered breakfast each morning. Comfy and nice studio apartments. This is the place and area where you can relax. After seeing the other districts we wouldn’t stay anywhere else but here :)

This is one of the best stay experiences I’ve had in my life. First, the location. Absolutely centrally locates, close to Edward park and public transit. And right next to a beautiful park with benches and a cafe. Second, the room: fantastic loft setup, delicately decorated, and with just the most homey vibe. Third, and most importantly, the service and care shown by Paulo and team. Paulo was waiting for us at 1 am (since our flight was delayed) to show us the room and talk about things to see in Lisboa. He is incredibly responsive on WhatsApp and his team is fantastic. Plus, a hand delivered, sumptuous breakfast - who could ask for more? Obrigado, Paulo and team - we loved our stay and hope to visit again very soon!

There are so many things to like about Casa Amora Studios. First, the location is a short walking distance to exceptional restaurants and local attractions. A local supermarket is about a one minute walk, so you can stock on on water, wine and snacks. A Metro stop is a mere two minutes away. Second, the Breakfasts delivered to our room were phenomenal. Third, the accommodations are very nice. Fourth, I saved the BEST for last, the customer service from Paulo, Manager, and Abishek, Housekeeper, was world-class customer service. This was our first visit to Portugal. Paulo and Abishek were the perfect Ambassadors and Portuguese tour guides. Before we went anywhere, we consulted with Paulo to plan our journey. Paulo was always responsive and he pleasantly answered all of our questions with a big smile. He was invaluable.

We had a fantastic time. We had an apartment all to ourselves, comprising a kitchen/living area, a large bathroom, and a mezzanine bedroom. All very spacious. I found the bed comfortable - it didn't have that overly-used, saggy mattress feel that you often find in B&Bs or even hotels. We had full autonomy to come and go as we pleased. Every morning, fresh breakfast was delivered based on our order from the previous day. Coffee, tea, and water were always available. The breakfast was incredibly delicious and fresh, with both sweet and savoury options on offer. The room was cleaned and tidied daily. Moreover, the apartment is strategically located: well-connected by public transport and very close to the nightlife area (within walking distance). This makes it perfect for those looking to avoid excessive noise but still have easy access to the vibrant Bairro neighbourhood. A large supermarket is nearby for any necessities. Our host Paulo was wonderfully kind, ready to offer advice or assist with anything we needed. Highly recommended.

Lisbon Garden Guest House is a charming boutique bed & breakfast located just 1.9 km from Rossio Square. The property offers a hostel-like vibe with shared bathrooms and a kitchen, but at a higher quality and reasonable price. Guests appreciate the super clean bathrooms and common spaces, as well as the friendly staff and awesome terrace for relaxing evenings. The location is convenient, with cultural venues nearby and easy access to transportation.
It has more of a hostel vibe with the shared bathrooms and available kitchen but at a higher quality and reasonable price compared to everything I saw online. Super clean bathrooms and common spaces. Friendly staff. And awesome terrace!! We spent the evening there with our own food and drinks and had a really lovely time, I’m surprised it wasn’t so used! A bit of a walk into the center but it’s not something to complain about, you can easily see the location when booking!! Bolts are super cheap in Lisbon so very easy to get home at night with one. Obrigada!!

Very nice and clean place. The decoration is also beautiful like in the pictures. What I didn’t like : - our room was next to the street and the restaurant next door is really loud until midnight. - the room was close to the reception and when someone rings to enter the guest house, you can hear it really loud. The sound was loud and annoying. Do something about it, it’s really stupid to have such a bad experience when the place is so nice !

Staff is amazing, very clean, very well decorated. Kitchen has everything you need. Good supermarket 100m away and good restaurants in the area. Location is perfect. But if your room is on the street side it’s very loud. We could barely understand each other when the window was open.

Overall a nice experience. Quite straightforward in terms of procedure. Location is brilliant and staff were friendly. Breakfast provided was also good. Minor inconvenience is the bathroom, we did hope for a shower, but got a bath (this is fine), however the water went everywhere on the floor and it made unsafe due to it being a slip hazard.

Unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. The building was under repairs, with loud noise from early morning until evening, and the room had no sound insulation. It also couldn’t cope with Lisbon’s summer heat, making it very uncomfortable. Service was lacking throughout—staff were unresponsive and failed to inform guests about interruptions in water supply. Overall, it felt like paying boutique hotel prices but receiving the conditions of a cheap hostel.

Great location, nice room. Staff gave nice recommendations for the area. Tip: if you are coming here by metro, be sure to go to Rato, not Avenida. I think Avenida is closer but you gave to walk up very steep hills which us hard work. Rato so much easier.

Had a very nice stay from last Wednesday to Sunday in room 24! We arrived outside the opening hours of the reception, but through a clear explanation and a video we could easily pick up the key and enter our room. The radio was on there and there was a small mood light. It is a decent building, but really has the Portuguese charm. The breakfast is also very cozy but certainly has enough choice. The location is well located just outside the hustle and bustle, but everything is within walking distance. We would definitely recommend this to friends and acquaintances. Who knows until next time.

An awful experience ! I forgot items worth €450 in this hotel: the hotel confirmed that they have found them and after some days informed me they have lost them ! After more than four months of waiting and countless reminders, they have only refunded a paltry sum, far less than the actual value. A complete lack of honesty, customer consideration, and transparency. In additional, lack of professionally, they gave us the wrong room than the one that was initially planned for us and there was a lack of cleaning, we drink one glass of whiskey in the common shared room it stayed there for the whole weekend as nobody cleaned it! Do not recommend at all!

They’re warm, friendly, and always happy to help with anything you need, whether it’s recommendations or just a friendly chat. The rooms are beautifully designed, super clean, and incredibly comfortable, making it such a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. And I have to mention the free breakfast; it’s hands down the best I’ve had in Europe! Fresh, delicious, and with so many great options to start the day right. One thing to keep in mind is that the guesthouse is kinda far from the city center, so unless you’re up for taking public transportation or Ubers (which are very affordable), just be prepared for some extra travel time.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Garam Lisboa! From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff stood out. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always eager to help with anything we needed—from local recommendations to small personal requests. Their knowledge of the area made exploring Lisbon even more enjoyable and stress-free. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. The team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy at all times. The rooms were spotless, with fresh, clean towels and bedding provided regularly, adding to the relaxing and homely atmosphere. Breakfast each morning was a delight—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, with a variety of options to suit all tastes. It was the perfect start to each day. We can’t recommend Garam Lisboa enough. It’s a charming place with exceptional service and staff who truly care about making your stay memorable. We will definitely be returning!

Garam Lisboa has some great points: the staff is friendly and helpful, the property is charming, the bed is super comfortable, the shower works perfectly, and breakfast is tasty. I also loved the 24-hour coffee machine, fresh apples for guests, and the location is pretty good. On the downside, for $240 USD per night, the room and bathroom felt small. The TV was tiny and mounted too high, the shower curtain smelled, and the hallway carpet looked worn. Major concern: opened single-serving jelly jars were reused at breakfast, mixed with new ones. This is a serious hygiene issue that the hotel needs to fix immediately.

Unique, rustic, but absolutely lovely interior design. The staff were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them to do. About 25 min walk to city centre, good to get a feel for the city. Great city with a strong history. Much of the old city beautifully maintained. Well worth the visit.

We had a nice stay here. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Location wise is good, you’re close by to bus and tram stops to go to touristic places. Breakfast was included and it is prepared by the staff in the morning. Since it’s a guest house you can connect with the other guests and is a nice vibe. A little bit pricey for the size of the rooms & location, but definitely aesthetic pleasing.

A great boutique hotel. Very charming and located in a quiet local neighborhood. I liked that is was among the locals so you feel tucked away from the noise of the city yet walking distance to cafes. Clean and professional. Would recommend.

Beautifully decorated space. The room is beautiful, giving it 4 stars because of the strong mold smell in the in-suite bathroom. The staff is lovely and very helpful especially the gentleman who is there in the afternoon and evening.
Oussama I — Google review
There was mold in our room and it smelled terrible. We reported this to reception, where the employee acted very surprised and gave us scented candles and a room spray. However, the smell was unbearable, so we wanted to change rooms, but this would only have been possible from the following night. (Or, if we had had to change rooms that same night, we would have been given a room in a lower category and would have had to stay there for the rest of our stay without any refund.) But we didn't want to spend a night in this moldy room or don‘t get the right category so we‘ve changed the hotel. Fortunately, they refunded our money (which is why it's a 2-star rating instead of 1), but I think it's outrageous to sell a room with mold. We found a lot of reviews about this on booking.com afterwards, but the hotel owners don't seem to care and are still selling it. Dear Garam-Team, please consider the health of your guests and discontinue selling this room until the mold has been addressed.

Casa dell'Arte Club House is a luxurious boutique hotel located in the historic Graca neighborhood. The guesthouse offers refined suites adorned with chandeliers and 19th-century tiles, providing stunning views of the nearby church. With only three exclusive guest rooms, the hotel exudes an air of elegance and exclusivity. Guests can enjoy a vibrant and art-forward atmosphere both inside and outside the hotel, featuring exquisite tile work and a rotating collection of Turkish and international art.
We loved our time at this Hotel and would highly recommend it. The decor, the art, the sheets and the bathroom amenities were all excellent. The staff were all lovely and the breakfast each morning was amazing. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at the restaurant, Listanbul, too. The only thing missing from our room was an iron and ironing board and also note there is no car parking nearby on a Saturday due to the large flea market.

Our stay at Casa Dell’Arte was nothing short of magical. In the heart of Lisbon, this hidden gem blends art, elegance, and comfort in the most enchanting way. Each morning began with a beautifully served breakfast in the garden, with a level of care that felt almost poetic. The setting, the presentation, and the quiet charm made it one of the highlights of our trip. The young lady who prepared it noticed the smallest details and curated the experience with quiet grace and intention. The hotel’s restaurant is also a delight; intimate, refined, and full of flavor. The young gentleman that served me was outstanding; His warmth and professionalism added a memorable touch that elevated the evening. The service was impeccable, every staff member radiated warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care. Their dedication truly elevated our stay. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable closet and serene ambiance. The common areas are a masterpiece in themselves every corner curated with taste, creativity, and soul. Casa Dell’Arte is more than a place to stay, it’s a place to feel inspired, cared for, and at peace. I can’t wait to return.

Casa dell'Arte Club was a beautiful Hotel in a great location. Unfortunately, our room was incredibly noisy late into the night and early into the morning. When staying in a city hotel, I always anticipate noise but this exceeded what I would consider to be the norm. Upon checking, the owner said something along the lines of "don't worry above the family above" and I wasn't sure what she meant until it was 2am and the noise kept us awake. I will mention that the owners did work with us after bringing it to their attention. I don't know if other rooms would be quieter but it is worth considering which room you're booking. I hate to share anything negative but I depend on reviews heavily to make sure I'm booking a hotel that meets my needs. I was so excited to stay at Casa dell'Arte Club based on the reviews and was shocked no one mentioned the level of noise.

Words are inefficient to describe our experience in Casa Dell’Arte. Very friendly Turkish family and unbelievable service and food. We went there for breakfast and I was surprised by the quality and size of the portion of this amazing Turkish breakfast. I can’t stop thinking about being there again. I was living in Turkey for many years and I tried many Turkish breakfasts but not with quality. The place is fascinating. I felt like I’m having breakfast in an art gallery or a traditional king house. You can see beauty and art in every corner of the house. I think photos are more informative than words. I’m just speechless. You should go and try it.

I am still overwhelmed by the beauty of this hotel and Gallery. I don’t know how we’ve got so lucky as to spend a night here. It is the experience dreams are made of and our lovely host made everything even better. I wasn’t able to stay for the beautiful breakfast that was prepared and the woman who prepared it was so sweet to offer me things for the road. We could not have been more welcomed. Should we ever return to Lisbon this is where we will stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in Lisbon and Aylin and Leah and the rest of the staff here were so warm, welcoming and helpful throughout. The building is beautiful and is situated close to the Panteao and within a short walk to Alfama. Casa do Pátio by Shiadu is a charming guesthouse located in a tranquil neighborhood of Lisbon. The property offers spacious and stylish rooms with modern amenities such as air-conditioning and wooden floors. Guests can savor a delightful homemade breakfast at the relaxing patio while taking in stunning views. Additionally, the guesthouse provides complimentary Wi-Fi and organizes free walking tours to explore the beautiful attractions of Lisbon.
I stayed at Casa do Patio by Shiadu during a solo trip to Lisbon, and it had my approval from day one. The location in Santa Catarina is perfect, close to everything, yet peacefully located away from the noisy tourist crowds and overpriced, bland food. The atmosphere feels more like a home than a hotel. My room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom equally so, and the leafy patio was a beautiful, quiet space to relax. Breakfast was fresh and well-balanced, and complimentary water, coffee, and tea throughout the day was a nice touch. The staff truly made the experience—warm, helpful, and easy to talk to. As a solo traveler, that hospitality meant a lot. I noticed most of the other guests were couples, but I always felt completely welcome and comfortable. In fact, I loved it so much that after visiting another city, I came back and booked again on my way out of Portugal. That’s how good it was. Big note for future guests: if you’re traveling with large or multiple suitcases, be prepared. The hotel is in a pedestrian-only neighborhood, and the charming cobblestone streets—while beautiful—can make pulling heavy luggage a bit of a challenge. Still, if you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic, and heartfelt Lisbon stay, Casa do Patio is 100% worth it.

Casa Balthazar is an elegant adults-only bed and breakfast located in the charming streets of Chiado. The 17 rooms offer stunning views of the city, including the castle on the skyline. This family-owned B&B, which opened in 2012, exudes a homely atmosphere with its antique decor and fresh flowers. Guests can enjoy modern rooms, suites, and apartments with private jacuzzi terraces and kitchenettes.
This hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay in Lisbon. It felt like a calm oasis right in the middle of the city. It’s close to everything, extremely comfortable, and has excellent amenities. We will come back!

Casa Balthazar is truly a hidden gem in the middle of Chiado. Tucked away on a narrow street, it’s like a little oasis in the city with beautiful views of Lisbon, very cozy and spacious rooms, a spa, a pool, and the most incredible breakfast included in your stay! It’s a 5-star hotel experience! Best of all is the staff hospitality at casa Balthazar. It’s a small bed & breakfast with only about 20 rooms, and they take the time to make each guest feel like they’re at home. We had about half of the rooms booked and they allowed us to host a small pre-wedding event (Haldi ceremony) by the pool and provided catering. Ruth, Yuran, Maria and the rest of the staff went above and beyond and created a beautiful experience for us. We are so incredibly grateful! They also did an amazing job helping take care of our elderly parents, helping us identify the best rooms in advance (no stairs) and getting them whatever they needed during our stay. Also, pro tip - casa Balthazar will coordinate private transportation for you, which is especially helpful to and from the airport, as the drivers will bring you directly to the entrance (while Ubers will only take you to the end of the street, intersection at Calçada do Carmo). Casa Balthazar went so far above our expectations, and we can’t wait to visit again and again!

we arrived quite late at night, possibly past midnight, due to the delay of our flight and the host welcomed with kind and friendly attitude making us feel well treated. The hotel is overall antique in its atmosphere both with the building and decorations, but well equipped modern convenience in its facilities. Our room was under the roof and the view looking over Lisbon from it was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious with custard tart and orange juice as my personal favorite. Guests are offered chilled water, and other refreshments in the common area all day long, and can enjoy private spa too. Overall an excellent place to stay and feeling a little bit like a local as it is located between local residents. You can even greet your neighbors through the window if you want, as it is quite close and upfront when you happen to meet one on their balcony ;)

3 nights at Casa Balthazar were most enjoyable. An oasis in the middle of the attractions there was nothing like a swim and spa after a day in heat walking Lisbon then a short walk to many restaurants and bars. Our room was large, modern and comfortable with exceptional housekeeping. Service is also excellent. We had to make some travel arrangements and Ruth in reception was incredibly helpful with arrangements that went off seamlessly. Highly recommend -Truly lives up to the small luxury hotel status.

We had our honeymoon in Portugal and stayed 3 nights in Jacuzzi I at Casa Balthazar. We were there extremely early from our flight and everyone worked hard to get our room ready as fast as possible. Ruth took amazing care of us and planned our trip by making recommendations and scheduling tours while we waited. She showed us things we had to do. We felt like we were the only ones there yet we knew the place was booked. We loved the breakfast every morning. The staff took great care of us!!! Our room was great! We loved having wine on our balcony every night because it just felt like the best view of the city! It felt intimate, yet we were in such a great location. It was a perfect mix of city life, and relaxation! On our last day, our transfer (that we booked) did not show… we were so worried we would be late to our plane or miss it. Ruth (again!) went out of her way to make sure we made our flight. Truly saved our trip. She managed to give us a list of recommendations to do in Madeira and called our next hotel to make sure they knew it was our honeymoon. Exceptional service and we will never forget it!!

Very nice hotel. Really liked having a code for the room and not a key. Felt safe as you could only access the main door with a code in the later hours of the night. The location was good, not right in the middle of any action but close enough, and it wasn’t loud at night.
Alexandra R — Google review
I’m giving this a one star review because me and my wife got food poisoning from the hotel breakfast. I suspect they were reusing cold cuts that had been out all morning the following day. Believe the reviews talking about shower size, there is not even room for you to soap yourself. Location was great, rooms are otherwise well maintained. However the bare minimum I require is not being poisoned by my hotel so the 1 star remains.
Ronen B — Google review
Pro’s: The room is spacious and Lara was so helpful. You can see the scenic river from the balcony. Cons: Shower cubicle is small as others have mentioned, breakfast options are very limited but the scrambled eggs are filling and prepared on request, housekeeping isn’t very friendly to even smile and an apparently clean towel was stained when towels were replenished. The place opposite my room was so loud all throughout the night as were fellow guests staying in nearby rooms casually chatting outside the rooms. The TV also stopped working the day after due to signal issues. Overall, the room was very spacious but issues persisted with everything else.

Room #1 large but located literally two steps to Reception desk. People speaking can be heard inside the room. Dimly lit. Bathroom lights not sufficient especially for shower area. Located in the vibrant Avenida da Republica, República Bed & Breakfast & Arts offers a unique blend of hospitality and artistic inspiration. It is conveniently situated for shopping and transportation, providing direct access to Sintra via nearby train stations. The fourth-floor space provides panoramic views of the bullring and showcases local artists' works throughout its expansive rooms and communal areas.
A delightful oasis in Lisbon! Central, with metro very close by. Bathroom/showers are shared, but there are 2, and are spotless and large. It was so clean & comfy, had a great breakfast, and wonderful owner/staff. Manuel went over and above to assist us with plans to explore his lovely city. He let us check in a bit early, and then keep our bags there without charge (so we could go to a late night concert) until 2 am when we left for the airport! Such kindness!! Thank you Republica, may we see you again :-)

Don't hesitate, just book it! I had myself and my two young daughters and the accommodation was perfect. The hosts are amazing and so helpful. Rooms are very clean and loaded with dressers and closet space. Close to the train and buses. Excellent value. Very classy.

Nice spot. Clean. Quiet. An hour walk to old town. Buses and trains across the street. Only suggestion is that the lighting can be improved. All hallway lights are on motion activated switches, and turn off very quickly, so by the time you get to the end of the hall and turnaround the lights are off again. I suppose it’s saving electricity, but does make the B&B seem unnecessarily dark. Same with the room lights. Our light flickered at a high pitch the whole time and it was not fixed as requested despite staying a few days. Good place - just weird with lighting.
Craig — Google review
A bit noisy in the room — it was even hard to talk on the balcony. That’s the downside of a central location. The metro station is right next to the building, offering easy access to the city center. There are 3 bathrooms for 7 rooms, but that wasn’t a problem — one was always available. There’s no parking nearby, and it can be hard to find a free spot in the area. However, the paid parking zone only applies until 7 p.m., so parking is possible after that. If you decide to use the Telpark parking lot (about a 10-minute walk), it’s worth having the app (you’ll get a 50% discount). The hostess was wonderful and gave me lots of helpful advice. Breakfast was included, though not spectacular, but it was fresh. Unlimited filtered coffee. The room was spacious and very clean. Good value for money.
Grzegorz K — Google review
Bed is good, breakfast as well. Communication with the owner very efficient. The place has a cosy common room with large table, couch, tv and balcony. It is clearly stated that bathrooms are shared, which was absolutely no problem. All very clean as well. Some nice small restaurants close by. Also close to the metro. Only minus is that you hear the other guests quite well.

I stayed at República Bed & Breakfast during a short work trip to Lisbon, and it served its purpose well. I was looking for something affordable and close to the office, and this place fit the bill perfectly. Located in a typical Lisbon building, it has a fresh and inviting look, clearly benefiting from recent renovations. The space is big and cozy, offering a comfortable bed, shared bathroom, and basic amenities. What stood out was the balance between privacy and security, which made the stay pleasant. The breakfast, while simple, was enough to start the day with energy. Overall, if you're looking for a convenient and budget-friendly option in Lisbon, this is a solid choice.

Manuel, Ruth and Ana were wonderful. Cute BnB close to the airport. Quiet unit. The communal living room and eating area were great, we met other guests who were very friendly. Room was barebones but functional and minimalist (mostly IKEA furniture). No complaints overall, we felt very welcomed here. The breakfast was good.

We (two adults and an infant) arrived here exhausted after an overnight flight. We were greeted with the most kindness and generosity. Our host went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and was so sweet with our child. The room was perfect - just what we needed to land into Lisbon. We were able to walk downtown but there was also a subway stop just opposite the hotel in case we needed. There was also ample parking nearby since we had rented a car. Specifically, Ana is the kindest host ever. She was so welcoming and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. We cannot recommend this place enough.

The hotel is praised for its authentic atmosphere, attention to detail, and well-trained staff. Guests are encouraged to indulge in specialty coffee and delightful food at The Folks coffee shop nearby.
The hotel has very beautiful interiors and a truly historic atmosphere. You have breakfast accompanied by live music, although the breakfast selection is rather limited. The rooms are pleasant but very small, and there are no tissues in the bathrooms. Overall, it’s a good hotel and worth the money.

What a lovely stay! I did a lot of research before landing on a hotel in Lisbon & ultimately picked this one for the unique decor, history, breakfast and spa. I made a great choice! The food was incredible for breakfast and the live music was a very nice touch. It seemed that everywhere we looked, there was a new surprise to be found. The spa was very very nice and the Roman bath was a treat (book ahead for both!) the staff and bartenders were always super polite and welcoming. The location of the hotel was great and within walking distance of a lot of things we did. The room was very nice and quiet, despite being an old building, we had no problem with hearing any of the nightlife down the street. There’s a welcome drink and cheese plate in the basement (I think on the day you arrive) starting at 4pm to 8pm, with self service wine from the barrels which was a fun inclusion. We also booked a driver for the airport through the hotel since we had an early flight (5:40am) and he actually parked, walked us and our bags to the right counter for check-in which was so nice and unexpected. That airport looked really confusing so that saved us some stress before we returned home . We would return again in a heartbeat, highly recommend!

The most incredible hotel. Rooms are beautiful, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is good too! The pianist at breakfast was the highlight. Also recommend using their spa if you've got time. You do have to book but it's very worth it.

This hotel is just amazing. You wake up in the morning with live music played on the piano, and a warm welcome. The staff are kind and helpful. The location is in the middle of the centre so you can do a lot in walking distance, the tram stops in front. And the food they serve for breakfast is really good as well. Only remark we have is that the room does not get completely dark in the night, the curtains are not sufficient enough. The decorations and the classy style of this hotel makes you feel like you are back in time. When in Lisbon, I would only stay at this hotel.

They made sure to offer me options for excursions and programs with the hotel. Had a great fado night in a wonderful setting at the hotel. I’d particularly like to mention Willian, Maria, Victoria, Iridy, and Ana Clara - everyone I spoke to was welcoming and helpful. Most of all, everyone is so happy and it’s wonderful to see such friendly relationships at the hotel. A very fun time. Don’t think twice about booking.

It was an overall nice place to stay. Nice breakfast with several nice features like a spa and chauffeur for an antique vehicle. Good location. The downside was the amount of perfume in the hotel, it was really excessive and the baggage stored in the check-in area looked like a backpackers hostel. Rectifying these two aspects would elevate this hotel significantly.

Excellent location and beautiful design The palace has an exceptional design and is very well maintained despite its age. Breakfast was lovely — great setup, live piano music, and delicious food. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. We stayed in two rooms; however, the one on the first floor was quite noisy as it was right next to the restaurant. Service could be improved — few staff members speak English, and flexibility is limited. We had requested an extra bed for our daughter, which was provided in the first room. When we moved to another room, it took significant effort to convince them to bring it again. Initially, we were told there was no space and no solution was offered. When they finally agreed (around 8 p.m.), they said it would only be possible the next day because no one was available to assist at that time.

We booked this hotel after we saw the hype on tiktok However, this hotel is magical, the staff were friendly location was amazing! Everything felt different Smell is weird tho! No swimming pool our mistake we didn’t check Breakfast lower than the average but vibes in the morning felt something else 🎶 Other than that it’s a highly recommended experience! Thank you.

Relaxed quarters, some with kitchenettes & living areas, in a no-nonsense hotel offering Wi-Fi.
Unlike some reviews below we had no problem with water pressure or temperature in the shower. The room was bright and a good size. Sharing a bathroom was no problem at all. Liked that pod coffee was available at reception. Good internet signal. Fantastic location for eating out if you want to try something not Portuguese. Reception staff all helpful and cheerful.

I stayed here with my friends for one night because it was close to the airport (about 15 minutes away). The staff were kind and helpful. There’s a code to enter the building and a key card needed to access the floors, which made us feel safe. However, the room and bathroom were quite small and not very clean. There were stains on the curtains and bedding, and we found hairs on the bed, which made us feel uncomfortable sleeping there. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a concern during our stay.
Michelle — Google review
The hotel was awesome!Very clean room and public areas with very kind staff willing to help you. Also, the room was constantly cleaned after we left. Finally, it is located in a very convenient location just 5 minutes from the metro station. It is highly recommended and we will definitely prefer it on any of our future visits in Lisbon!
Panos L — Google review
The location was not the best, but not a problem as we are walking a lot. The price we got was fine, but we expected more things from the property. First thing that felt really OFF… they had a REFILLABLE bottle of water in the room, which they stated is charged 2,50€, and we can refill for free. I mean… you’re trying to charge me for the refillable bottle? It’s not about the 2 euros, but it felt really not-welcoming and abusive. They also had tea and sugar, which were also chargeable. I have never seen that, nowhere in Europe or even the US. The towels were small and could be cleaner. Rather than that the room was okay, not great not terrible. Leaving our luggage for the day we checked out was very convenient as well
Markos K — Google review
Compare to the price. I believe this is one of the best option. The location is great, walkable from the subway station (Vm line from the airport) and there are many good restaurant nearby. The reception opens 24 hrs. We arrived at 00.30 and the staff was there to welcome us. They charged 1.5€ for refillable bottle of water. Which I was OK as it was not that expensive. The room was nice. I chose twin bed room with soundproof which was OK. No noise but thud/bang was still heard. The bed was comfortable. There are hairdyer and soap.
Air — Google review
very good location, next to the station that connects the green and the red metro lines. the staff was very nice and fluent in spanish and english. however, we got a double bed instead of the two twin beds and bigger room we had booked 8 months ago. also, considering they do not provide individual shampoo or shower gel, it would have been nice if the shared gel was not absolutely deluted in water. rooms had a nice balcony and AC
Silvia G — Google review
Rooms were nice and clean. Llocated in the centre and in the vicinity of metro, so you can reach any part of town easily. Around are various restaurant to eat and drink coffe.
Karla V — Google review
I advise against families staying at this hotel. The service was very unhelpful. The towels in the room were tiny, and when I asked for another, they wouldn't let us. I just fear that it might bring up inconveniences to families especially those with kids. They were not very willing to help... Location was not the greatest area, but okay. Not really near anything (town centers, beaches, notable restaurants) but all is a close Uber ride away.

Nestled in the lively Arroios neighborhood of Lisbon, Vila Garden Guesthouse is a charming retreat housed in a beautifully renovated 19th-century building. Guests can enjoy tastefully decorated rooms that are both spacious and well-lit, complete with modern private bathrooms. The guesthouse features a delightful garden, providing an oasis of tranquility amidst the city's hustle and bustle.
Very friendly front desk and crew. They made accommodations for our room to be checked in a bit earlier. It was very nice of them as one of our party members had a sprained ankle. The crew surprised us with a welcoming gesture with Coffee and Pastel de Nata. This place is walking distance to good local stores to visit, and a bolt away from some of the major touristic attractions. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality stay, with good water pressure and clean rooms.

Nice location. Close to two metro stations. You can clearly hear the metro in the room, but it's not too loud and stops at night. Very nice rooms to the price. And very clean. Housekeeping every day. Very good service in the reception. Many and small stairs. Kitchen you can use. Worth the money.

Perfect place to stay. Great location with metro 2 min walk, and lots of very good restaurants and cafes super close. The room was spacious and sound proof, with air con. Really helpful staff on the front desk. Lovely shady garden area. Super clean, with daily housekeeping if wanted. There are a couple of small flights of stairs. Overall 1 of the best places we have stayed.

Overall a good stay, the hotel looks nice and is very clean, with a comfortable bed and friendly staff. The street can be quite busy even at night, but for us, the noise wasn’t an issue. 😴
Viorela N — Google review
One of the best hotels we ever used. So clean, excellent location just beside the metro stations, the people are so generous and kind and very welcoming. They welcomed us with lemon water and in the rooms they wrote a personalized letter to us with pastel de nata, they gave us a map and explained everything! They allowed us to use the kitchen for utensils and fridge…The only thing is that there is no elevator so carrying the bags up or even walking up after touring Lisbon wasn’t the most pleasant thing but doable. The garden is awesome, don’t miss it!

This hotel is a gem in Lisbon! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is great with everything you need close by! A great place to stay when visiting Lisbon and surroundings. What makes the place so special, is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Miguel has been particularly a star, making us our coffee every morning and providing loads of advice and recommendations. The room was very comfortable and kept tidy every day. Great location on top of everything else.

Such a wonderful stay at AA! Everyone on the staff was amazing, so friendly and accommodating and helpful with recommendations and info. My room was compact but lovely, facing the street there was some noise at night but once I closed the windows it was silent for sleeping. Great air conditioning, comfortable bed. Location was awesome, on a quieter street but still very close to all the action. Housekeeping was excellent. I would definitely stay here again, the perfect accommodation for my first trip to Lisbon! Obrigado!

Exceptional service, great location, very clean and safe! We stayed here for the first part of our trip to Portugal, immediately all the staff was so nice and polite, and we had a gorgeous room with a double balcony looking out into the street. We would leave early in the day to explore the city and the counter would greet us with coffee and ask us about our day plans, they were incredibly helpful and added local insight into our plans for the day with great suggestions on what to see (and what to skip!). After a long day exploring the area, we would come back to a clean and freshened up room. Recommend this place 100%!

It’s a small but very clean hotel with excellent service. The staff are all lovely and gave us great recommendations for places to visit. We even found a delicious and reasonably priced Portuguese restaurant thanks to their suggestion. Our room was cleaned and tidied up perfectly every day during our stay. Overall, we really liked and were very impressed with this hotel — we’d definitely come back again if we have the chance.

Approx 150mts to the 22 B bus-stand which takes you to Cais do Sodre (where you get busses and Trains to other location The Staff is very friendly and always eager to help. Will aways suggest this place for stay in Lisbon Note - this is a very old building and does not have lifts (the owner is very kind and details the same in the confirmation email)

I am so happy I found this gem of a property, in a fantastic location in my price range. It was easy to find from the metro, a 5 min level walk from Marquês de Pombal station, close to multiple bus stops and less than 15 min by taxi, to the airport when I left. The hop on/off buses also start from 5 mins away. There are many supermarkets, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions close by, a 20 min pleasant walk down to Rossio station. The area is clean and safe, the property also is safe and quiet. This was very important to me being a solo female traveler. The property staff are lovely and helpful. They are available 8am until 10pm and you get a door code and key to access the property. I stayed in Alameda suite for 5 nights and it was super comfortable and clean, I slept like a baby and always had hot water and lots of towels when I took a shower, great water pressure too. The room has everything I needed even though it was a small room; fridge, desk, kettle, ability to open the door and get fresh air and an air conditioning/heating unit. My bed was comfy and lots of fresh linens and pillows. I didn't use the kitchen or lounge but they looked really nice. The view from the terrace by the kitchen is stunning, it was a shame there was no outdoor furniture to enjoy it a little more. I will definitely stay at Casa Belmonte when I come back to Lisbon. Thank you!

Have just returned from the best stay in Lisbon. Room was clean, great pressure in shower, has AC in the room and lots of towels. Fridge, coffee pod machine, TV. I am female and staying solo and felt more than safe and comfortable. There are staff available until 10pm. The area around the guesthouse has supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Few minutes walk to metro really easy to get around. Will definitely stay here again when I return.

Quaint, vintage style, boutique hotel in the heart of the city. Encompassing the old city vibe and flare. Conveniently located and walking distance to many Lisboa authentic restaurants, shops, markets and key interest points. The metro is also within walking distance connecting visitors to many areas and highlights. This quaint little place gives you an authentic Lisboa experience including the very welcoming and attentive staff. A wonderful Lisboa experience.

Great location close to pombal square, train station 3 minutes walk, 2 grocery stores 3 minutes walk. Safe and quiet area. Room quiet, bed comfortable. Air-condition and hot water no problem. No in room safe. Good view from terrace. In room coffee machine. Friendly, helpful staff. But room we had was very small, ard difficult for two persons to walk around with luggage. One can probably find bigger room for the same price. All old town attractions are about 30 minutes walk. Train station near by will help.

A Casa das Janelas Com Vista is a charming hotel located in the hilly medieval district of Lisbon, beneath the walls of Sao Jorge Castle. The former basket shop has been transformed into a stylish accommodation where natural light floods through French windows into high-ceilinged rooms furnished with vintage details and modern simplicity.
As a professional in the travel industry & used to luxury stays, I have really high standards when it comes to hotels! As a designer, I fell in love with the interior decor! My experience was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! The staff facilitated my 11pm arrival with an online check in&clear instructions and had prepped my room in a way that felt really welcoming! As this was a very last minute booking, only the entry level category was available, the room&bathroom were beautiful, but I feel for two people you may wish to opt for a larger room! For one, it was perfect and I liked having a juliet balcony! Bed was comfy, decor was tasteful and not overloaded! The bathroom was small but the walk in shower was a good size itself! The only note I have is that the hot water tap made a bit of a loud whistling noise when it was on (possibly due to the building being old, but Ill take the trade off for the lovely character, tall ceilings and period features) but the water pressure&temp were excellent! The staff in the am were very polite and breakfast is served in a friendly relaxed manner that makes guests feel like they are guests at a friends house. They also stored my luggage in an individual locker (with only my stuff in it) whilst I enjoyed my last day in the city! Ive only given the room 4 stars for the size/shower-bit of corridor noise, but Id like to state that overall this was a great stay considering the price point as well (which is very fair), its fair to say that my stay was comparative to a 4/5* hotel with the price of a 2*. Don’ t change a thing! Looking forward to future stays!

Lovely room and fantastic service. The room is spacious and has a large bathroom with an incredibly comfortable bed. Easy to find off a quiet street very close to the main busy streets, 10min walk to the centre. The lobby is very well designed with a lovely breakfast and a self service bar. The staff helped with a very last minute surprise for a proposal with free champagne and flowers in the room, so friendly and accommodating, really went above and beyond to make it a special experience for us. I will definitely return here and definitely recommend.

My wife writes: The staff of this establishment greeted us throughout the day and evening with generous hospitality, attentiveness, and care. The morning breakfast was beautifully presented and full to the brim with healthy and vibrant options. The environment of the community room is cozy and also conducive to peaceful rest and rejuvenation between outings. Being able to make tea throughout the day was another great boost. Casa Janelas Com Vista is wonderfully situated in a great district. There was considerable noise from people in the street at night, but thanks to solid windows and earplugs, we managed to get decent sleep and rest.
Arnie K — Google review
We had a lovely 5-night stay at Casa das Janelas. Our room on the 3rd floor was comfortable, quiet and had all the amenities needed. There is no elevator but that was OK with us. We loved the lounge, breakfast, reception area - tastefully furnished and a great place to relax after a busy day exploring Lisbon. We appreciated the complimentary teas, coffee, water and snacks as well as the honest bar selections of wines and port. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and available in the lounge area until late at night. Casa das Janelas is located on a quiet street in the Barrio Alto about a 10-15 minute walk from the Baixa-Chiado metro station. It was nice to be away from the busy areas of town but still within walkable distance from shops and restaurants.

We had a wonderful stay here. Rooms are very clean and smell divine thanks to local diffusers. We had a stunning view over the city. Breakfast was perfect, a huge selection of fruit, salad, nuts, yoghurt, pastries, home made cake, cheese and ham, with eggs cooked to order if desired. Breakfast is in a communal space which is open 24/7, with quirky decoration. Home made lemonade, coffee and cake are always available. Staff made us feel very welcome and at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a lovely time at Casa das Janelas Com Vista. It’s a very charming guesthouse with a warm, homely feel — more like a boutique B&B than a traditional hotel. The staff were welcoming, the interiors beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. It’s a perfect spot for exploring Lisbon while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. The only small downside is that it would be helpful to have a fridge in the room, especially during the hotter months. It would make it easier to keep drinks or snacks cool. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

Very beautiful hotel! The staff were very polite and friendly, the room we stayed in was comfortable and lovely, and the breakfast was very good! There was such a warm and relaxing atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The breakfast area is wonderful — you can sit there at any time of the day, enjoy a coffee, and unwind.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. In a superior room facing the city and the river you have a splendid view of Lisboa both from the room and the bathroom. I liked the interior design, the service, the high quality of sheets and towels but most of all I liked the breakfast and the way it is presented. Many places say that they aim to be a home away from home, but Casa Janela is one of the few places that actually succeed in creating that feeling. I will recommend this to everybody who likes small scale hotels with a twist and who is willing to a little extra for high quality.

Superb! I am so glad I found this place and highly recommend it. It is stylish yet feels like a home. There’s a communal kitchen, quiet reading corners, a beautiful and lush garden. The location is perfect, tucked away in a vibrant neighbourhood, between the most touristic places and more authentic areas (check campo do ourique). The service is professional and friendly. The overall atmosphere is very pleasant. Do not miss the breakfast that offers a fantastic selection of fresh products including Portuguese cheese, pao de queijo, bread, a delicious buttery brioche, homemade yogurts etc. I will certainly stay here again if I come back to Lisbon.

I absolutely loved staying here. It’s such a unique, friendly place I’m so glad exists. Some highlights: The people working there are super friendly and helpful, the breakfast is amazing, the gardens are lovely (I had jasmine growing along my window to the garden that made my room smell lovely). I only tried one of the ports at the honesty bar but it was really good and I loved the idea of the honesty bar in general. Oh, and Polette, the golden retriever who is sometimes there, is the sweetest cutie pie. Probably one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. 10/10 would stay here again.

Palacio Ramalhete is an elegant 18th-century palace in Lisbon that offers a genuine experience of the city's rich history and culture. The palace features beautifully preserved stucco ceilings, hand-painted azulejos, and even a mysterious secret passage. Each room is unique, some opening onto courtyards while others are nestled within internal corridors. The hotel seamlessly combines modern comforts with authentic historical details, offering guests a truly immersive experience.
Beautiful property. Slightly out from the center area but that’s exactly why I loved it. Quiet, stylish and you can feel the rich history. Very nice breakfast. Will be back.

Wonderful staff, interiors and location. Perfect for a romantic weekend. Situated in a quiet area just a 5 minute walk to the bohemian bars and cafes lining Rua de Santos O Velho (visiting these is a must, we recommend nearby Yallah and Bloom). Hotel interiors are gorgeous, exactly what we wanted in a former 17th century palacio; marble, masonry and tiles tastefully restored. Candles line the stairs at night. The weather wasn’t quite right to test the pool but its courtyard looked lush for a warm summer’s day. Our superior room was well sized and decorated, the bed was comfy though the bathroom was dated and the towels / dressing gowns were also tired which let the room down; given the overall experience is luxe, I’d have expected higher quality. There was just one mirror in the bathroom which made getting ready more difficult when there’s two of you. Would have been nice to have one near the vanity area. The service was impeccable; staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. You felt like a guest in a b&b which we preferred over staying in an anonymous hotel. Breakfast is served in a lovely room with a small but considered and balanced menu. Very happy.

We called the day before asking about parking and were told there was a place 2 minutes away. On the day we arrived, we got sent a location 15 minutes away, so we had to carry our luggage across town. When we arrived, the door was locked and no one was answering the door, phone, or WhatsApp.After waiting for 15 minutes, we got an SMS with a code to the door but arrived to an empty reception.Another 5 minutes passed before a guy appeared to check us in.The next day we asked for a late check-out to compensate for the issues and were told they wanted 20 euros per hour of late check-out. We were shocked but accepted before going out into the city.At the time the original check-out was supposed to happen, we got a message that we needed to check out at the expected time because someone needed the room, and we had to rush back to the hotel to get our stuff. One of the most unprofessional staff experiences we've had

Surprisingly good! Very clean (worth noting — no mold in the bathroom, which is rare in Lisbon, both in hotels and apartments). Good breakfast, excellent location. A place definitely worth recommending and remembering.

Great location. Nice room. Great staff. Good breakfast. Excellent WiFi and A/C. Only point of criticism is the very narrow shower cabin.

Nestled in a historic 19th-century warehouse, Emporium Lisbon Suites offers a unique blend of modern comfort and classic charm. With nine stylish suites, some boasting stunning views of the Tagus River, this hotel is perfectly situated near key attractions like Terreiro do Paço and the vibrant neighborhoods of Chiado and Alfama. Each suite is designed with bright interiors featuring cozy seating areas, sofas, and flat-screen satellite TVs for your entertainment.
Spacious suite, very clean and equipped with all you need located in a great building! Offers a great sea view and it is in a very good area to visit Lisbon and eat all day! Nearby metro and bus station! Excellent communication with the girls, always available in case you want something! For us as a family it was really one of the best places we have stayed in Europe! Absolutely recommended!!

Centrally located to many of the tourist attractions very large apartment space, well over 350 Sq ft. (30 m2). Quiet, quiet, quiet. We couldn't hear anything inside. Wonderful bathroom, very large, very comfortable bed, available pull-out sofa. The kitchenette was equipped with stove, range, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator.. Very secure facility, outdoor has a key code lock, along with the room having a key code access as well. Elevator available.
Todd F — Google review
The Emporium Suites is located in such a great area, walking distance to everything we wanted to see... or within walking distance to tram/bus stops for Belem and areas a bit further away. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room we had was large, stylish and very clean. We loved it. There was air-conditioning, a kitchen and large bathroom. What's more, the room was really quiet despite being so close to restaurants, public transport etc. On our next trip to Lisbon, we'll definitely stay here again.

Overall my impression of this hotel is negative. While there are a few positives such as the central location, easy self check in, nice views of the square and the water, and a comfortable bed, the problems far outweigh them. The most serious issue is safety. Both elevators have not been serviced in seven years and their inspection certificates expired in 2020. When I asked management about this, they told me that inspections are only required every five years. That is not true. Portuguese law requires inspections every two years for hotels, and even if it were every five, the elevators would still be long overdue. This shows very poor management and trying to mislead guests about something as critical as safety is dishonest and dangerous. I would strongly advise anyone staying here to avoid using the elevators. Other problems included very slow WiFi, a dirty bathroom fan, a shower that smelled of sewage, a clogged sink, a toilet flush that did not work properly, and a fridge that was very loud at night, making earplugs necessary. During our stay there was also a large concert right outside in the square, with music and vibrations shaking the room until midnight. We were not warned in advance (only a few days before), and if we had known, we would not have booked this place. This hotel may look appealing from the outside, but the lack of proper maintenance of the bathrooms, expired elevator certifications, and the dishonest response from management make it a place I cannot recommend.

Our superior suite was spacious and clean, with a view towards the sea. Location was fantastic - close to a metro, the main shopping street and also the Alfama. Given the location, the amount of space was a key selling point for us! Unfortunately, we didn't really enjoy using the bathroom - we had issues with the shower head (wouldn't stay up) and the shower curtain couldn't keep the water in (so the floor would often be wet). The toilet flush didn't work perfectly too (sometimes water ran continuously). I give this feedback in person too; hopefully it would be taken into consideration. Staff were lovely.:) We were just a bit concerned about security - we suggest locking the office if no one was there and making the less easy to guess.
TWM — Google review
We had booked Emporium Lisbon Suites for a 3-night stay as part of our family vacation to Portugal. Unfortunately due to an airline strike, we were unable to use our prepaid room, and a request for a refund was declined. While we understood that a refund would only be considered 5 days in advance of check-in, we found it unreasonable given the circumstances that were outside of our control. The refund request was made 24 hours in advance of check-in. I would think that at least one day should have been refunded.

If you're looking for a nice home base while visiting Lisbon, this is the place to be. The office staff we spoke with were incredibly friendly and helpful in making our stay enjoyable, and they even gave excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Lisbon, as it was within walking distance to most nearby attractions. Definitely stay in this comfy, modern, and centrally-located gem. They're fantastic.

I had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Emporium Lisbon Suites. I actually wish I stayed here during my entire trip, so now I know better! I liked the self check in process, as it was very easy. As others have mentioned, the location is supreme. I was on the second floor with a water view which I really enjoyed. These units are huge and I really appreciated the space as compared to the smaller boutique hotels in Lisbon which I've stayed at. I will mention, I stayed on the second floor, although it was great, I could hear the people above me. These suites are meant for families, so there can be 4-5 people in one suite. One particular morning I heard lots of noise from the upstairs unit. I live in a single family home in the U.S. and not used to sharing walls, so I'm more sensitive to noise. But if you're used to it, it probably won't bother you. Regardless of the noisy upstairs neighbors, I would stay here again! Enjoy Portugal and everything is has to offer. Lisbon is a special city in my book! :-)

Wow, we are so glad we stayed at LR Guesthouse when we visited Lisbon!! AMAZING location. We took the Metro and it was less than a 5 minute walk to LR Guesthouse from the Metro stop. It is a quiet oasis in the city. The location is in walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Lisbon and then we took the Metro to a soccer game!⚽️ The staff went above and beyond! We’re so grateful for Antonio, Melina, and David (hopefully we’re remembering their names right!), they all go above and beyond for the guests and are so kind and friendly. The breakfast is quite a treat! The fresh eggs and fresh orange juice they make are delicious and wonderful way to start the day in Lisbon. We loved our extremely clean room and bathroom. We chose a room with a private external bathroom which worked out great! We loved walking around in the slippers and robe they provide. Cannot recommend this place enough!! We will stay again when we visit Lisbon.

We were very impressed by the LR Guesthouse team. The house was clean, historical, yet modernized. Diogo was very friendly and full of local recommendations. The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of foods throughout the day. David was an excellent breakfast host, cooking meals to order. If we’re in Lisbon again we will definitely rebook!

Second time staying here and I reiterate the feeling of "home away from home". The location is as central as it gets; you have everything you need around you in terms of places to eat, drink and visit. About they home-y feeling, Antonio, Diogo, David, and Cristina are warm, they make sure your needs are taken care of. They're always available for recommendations. You'll feel right at home and you'll become friends. Oh I nearly forgot to mention the Portuguese breakfast is delicious!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a cold beer in the winter garden – a perfect start. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast was great. But above all, it was the hospitality that truly stood out. Their service is on another level. Antonio and the team making you feel at home. Highly recommend

Absolutely the best guest house I’ve stayed at in Lisbon – and I’ve been to the city many, many times! I’ll definitely be coming back here every time I visit. The location is perfect – right in the heart of the city – and the service is outstanding. The staff are incredibly kind, respectful, and always ready to help without ever being intrusive. The breakfast is generous, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to Diogo, Cristina, and Antonio for making my stay so special. Can’t wait to come back – see you next time!

Highly Recommend. Great location - centrally located. Nice Rooms - tastefully decorated. Breakfast is fantastic. Diogo and his team do a great job. They will go above and beyond for guests. - Breakfast is also fun - Kitchen has large table where you can meet your fellow guests. - I stayed there in two different times. Short walk to tourist type stuff. Super friendly staff. Besides obviously Portuguese, they speak great English, Spanish and a few other languages. You will love it

This might have been the best hospitality I have ever experienced. It’s true luxury and comfort, and simply makes you feel good. Everyone we met on the team—Christina, Diogo, and David—made us feel at home with their kindness and warmth. We stayed in two different rooms, both beautiful and comfortable. The service, from drinks at the bar on the patio to the afternoon snacks in the kitchen and the amazing breakfast, makes LR Guest House one of the best places I have ever stayed.

Such a wonderful guest house in the heart of Lisbon. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Every need a traveller may have, they had carefully thought about, amazing cooked breakfast with fresh bread, pastries, home made cake, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, the list goes on. Fabulous bedroom, great welcoming outdoor space with honesty bar and each day travel tips and restaurant recommendations depending on where you were going. Can honestly say one of the best places to stay.

We just left from an amazing stay at Casas de São Bento. Wonderful hospitality and spacious apartment with AC unit in the bedroom (and a fan)! We were greeted with complimentary port and pastel de nata which was a wonderful welcome to Lisbon. Management provided recommendations and communicated well via text. Our friends stayed here previously and recommended for our trip and now we get to do the same :) would absolutely return in the future!

We had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights during our trip! The room was well decorated with comfortable beds and the bathroom was spacious. The pastel de Nata when we arrived was a generous touch and we appreciated the complimentary nespresso machine! Location is close to so many restaurants and shops but quiet at night for uninterrupted sleep! Our hosts were very welcoming, sending us recommendations for the area. I would recommend this stay!

I stayed here recently and it was exactly what I was looking for. A historic building with all the charm, but modernised with all the amenities. The staff we spoke to were very attentive and happy to provide tips. I would definitely stay here again.
Dave H — Google review
The room was ok. However, they are repairing the rooms above the one I booked. The whole building was shaking during ALL DAYLIGHT HOURS of my stay. Imagine someone is drilling the floor above you for 10 hours or more per day. The staff refused to move me of offer any compensation besides a "discount on future stays" It was unlivable and I had to spend the entire days outside of the room. I was tired from let lag and would have loved to nap in the room I payed for. There unwillingness to work with me was very professional and I would advise against staying here. I believe this repair will last some time and this review is from a stay in May 2025.

Absolutely incredible!! I could not recommend a better place. Beautiful and spacious rooms with all possible needs met. Now let's talk about the shower 😍... The rain shower head and water pressure were a dream. Wonderful, convenient and quiet location. Close to metro and many great restaurants/cafes and a well stocked convenience store across the street. The courtyard is adorable and kitchen is well equipped. Extremely secure property, building and rooms. Easy access system, set up remotely to ensure flexible check-in and out We intend to detour here on our next trip in the fall just to enjoy a night and hopefully meet Helen in person. Helen is a dream: kind, accommodating and supportive with great recommendations in the area including a fine dining experience at Tico Tico just down the street. Right in the middle of the embassy quarters in Lisbon, this hotel is in the perfect location, far enough from the hustle of the city, yet close enough to walk everywhere. The hotel is small، but has a very cosy feel about it, it feels like you are staying with a very cool relative. The staff have been outstanding, and their recommendations are spot on. If I'm back in Lisbon, I don't think I would want to stay anywhere else

Absolutely immaculate! Everything & I mean everything is top notch. Super clean.... Luxury... Best Location! The tour we had from the owner was so professional. Explained everything and spent time showing you all the needed things. Provided a garage for the car, assisted with all luggage, and more. The room is perfect! And it wasnt even the highest tier. High end furniture. Bed was so comfortable. Sheets were as soft as a cloud. Soaking tub in the room was a bonus. From the ceiling to the floor flawless. Wallpaper, lamps, couch, tables to the flooring screams perfect. They know what there doing. Everyone they didn't forget a thing! High end bathroom fixtures on the sink and shower. Bathing makes you feel like your sitting under a waterfall. The heavy water pressure was a free massage. And the HOTTEST water constant. This is very important. Being in Construction for 30 years, they didn't forget about the main ingredients. Boiler, hot water heater, and the super cold A/C. The security of the place also makes you feel 100% safe. From the front entrance to your room. And the area you don't need any of it. For the area is perfect without it :) All I have to say is, " don't google or look no more. Book it! You will thank me and Felix 10". Vincent

I can't say enough about how wonderful this B&B is! The rooms, the people, the location - all perfect! We stayed there for 8 nights, and the owner, Luis, and his staff went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We stayed in the Amber room which is large, with a separate living area, very bright, and great feng shui. The bed was super comfortable, the shower was strong and the windows overlooked the beautiful green patio of the property. The breakfast was very nice, though we ended up eating out mostly just to try different eateries in the area. The small gym looked very sufficient as well. The rooftop is wonderful, and the neighborhood is perfect if you like a quieter, more residential area to stay in, but still easy walking to Barrio Alto, Principe Royale, the Center.

Very good place to stay in Lisbon - close to the center and metro. Clean and peacefull hotel. I recomend! PS. Very solid building to stary during earthquake😅
Nowakoszka — Google review
Overall not the greatest experience. First off the keys used to get in to the apartment are a nightmare! It is not easy by any means and you have two difficult doors to get through. When Gaspar was demonstrating how to use the keys he made a comment “don’t struggle like the Japanese did” which I thought was very racist. There is no lights in the staircase so don’t even attempt trying those at night! The rooms are very close together and you can hear everything.. people coming in, talking, closing their doors. The breakfast is nothing to rave about, cereal and bread. The bed is stiff and pillows weren’t very comfortable. I ended up getting ill at the end of my stay and Gaspar was worried I was contagious and did not want me sitting at the breakfast table yet did not offer to bring anything to the room. The entire time my mom and I felt as though we had to tip toe around the place. We were told to be quiet after 10pm so never went out past that time for this reason and due to the place being so poor lit at night. Gaspar was very informative about how to get around. But ultimately I wouldn’t recommend.
Aryn R — Google review
Gaspar was an outstanding host who went above and beyond to make sure his guests had a welcome stay. Room was large and beautiful, and the breakfast was fantastic with all-organic ingredients and much of it being homemade. Gaspar himself is fluent in many languages, had a plethora of recommendations and is overall an incredibly sweet person. Excellent rooms, the hospitality and friendliness of the owner is unpayable! The decently elegant flat is located on the 5th floor of a civil house in beautiful condition, next to the metro, railway and bus station. After ascending with an old-style but perfect lift we entered a very stylish, classy, brand new looking flat where the owner surprised us with his warm, friendly, homely greetings. Mr. Gaspar is the BEST host ever!! Besides his hospitality he knows everything about his town and country and offers the best quality places to visit, to have lunch, dinner or to shop. We couldn't ask anything he couldn't answer the best way. His passion about Lisbon, history and the whole country is exceptional and moves you, too! The rooms and bathrooms are stylish, perfectly clean, look like brand new and cleaned up every day. The bed is so comfy that it's hard to get up even if you know that Gaspar's wonderful Portuguese breakfast is waiting for you. :) Home-made, warm, served by himself and spiced up with his entertaining personality. The whole stay is unforgettable, lovely and unique! We come back, dearest Gaspar!

The couches and chairs are really comfortable. - The kitchen is spotless and well stocked. There’s sparkling water, tea and nespresso coffee. You can buy groceries from the supermarket across the street and keep it in the fridge. NEIGHBORHOOD Quiet, residential and safe. There’s a park downstairs with several benches you can sit on to people watch or read a book. There are also a few restaurants and cafes nearby.

Nestled in the charming hills of Lisbon, Vila Rodrigues is a delightful retreat that perfectly blends comfort and convenience. This inviting property features air-conditioned rooms equipped with free WiFi, ensuring you stay connected while enjoying your getaway. With express check-in/out and a serene garden, it offers an oasis of tranquility amidst the vibrant city life.
Vila Rodrigues is a stunning space with thoughtful hosts that made our stay seamless. The apartments are tucked away on a quieter street off the beaten path. If you're looking to feel like a local and don't mind a bit of a walk to the heart of the city, this is the place for you. I highly recommend trying out the local gems recommended in the host's guidebook. We will be back!

Vila Rodrigues is a beautiful vila, with very thought out touches. I liked the gate in the front for security, and the beautiful garden to all the rooms. I do need to warn people however that the location is less desired. Its 10-15 minute walk from the centre, however the walk down isnt very pleasant as its very run down with tons of men down one big street which made me feel a little uneasy as a woman with a young baby. Our car also got broken into on the street infront of the vila, luckily we loss only minor items. Anyways, overall its a great place to stay, just be cautious if walking (especially at night).

There were many ants in room everywhere, the upstairs hallway, bathroom and downstairs kitchen as well. Even though I saw them on the kitchen counter! The presence of ants made it difficult for us to relax and we found it comfortable to have to constantly check and clean the area around our children. I sent message to this Villa however they said this season is not possible to avoid this problem…… No way! We never use sugar in the kitchen. They are laying. So disappointed their response.

This was our first stop in Portugal and set the standards for Portuguese hospitality. The area is near the airport, easily assessable with Uber or a cab, and would suggest doing that as it is situated on a hill (as most buildings in Lisbon are). It also made us feel really safe as it is a gated property. The rooms were super clean, and there was a free to use coffee machine which is always a lovely option to have in an accommodation. Bed was really comfortable and it was so peaceful at night. The skylights in the room helped us adjust our sleep cycle to the point we did not have jet lag despite traveling 20 hours all the way from Singapore. Many food options around and easily accessible to the main busy city area though it will take quite a bit of uphill and downhill to get there (but then again in Lisbon, it’s hilly terrain almost everywhere). Wouldn’t suggest driving as the lanes are tiny and mostly parking is parallel parking on a steep incline.

I stayed here from July 26 to July 30. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with how the owner has been misrepresenting us as “problematic guests” by spreading false information. First of all, we never made any discriminatory or offensive remarks toward anyone. We also did not arrive at 3 PM as the owner claimed—we actually arrived at 5 PM. The fact that the owner is trying to rewrite what happened with things that simply did not occur is very frustrating. Check-in time is stated as starting from 3 PM, which means that regardless of when guests arrive after that time, the property should be prepared to welcome them. However, when we arrived at 5 PM, we were told to wait outside in 33°C heat for 15 minutes, simply because we had mentioned earlier that we “might arrive around 5:30.” The cleaning staff themselves even told us they were only asked to come at 5:30. This is not reasonable hospitality. To show future guests that I am not making false claims, I am attaching screenshots of the actual message exchange we had with the host. You will see that our tone was polite and respectful throughout, as we were worried about being treated unfairly during our travels. We never made any racist or insulting comments. I am sharing this review so that other travelers can be aware of what actually happened.

Horrific refund policy! I tried to stay here in December of 2023, booked via third party, for early Dec. We were asked to do an early check-in without seeing the place, the cab driver warned me that a nearby area was unsafe and since We would be walking a lot, we were hesitant at first but then after seeing an early morning deal go done as we were discussing the location, we immediately left. Was charged for a full week, almost $900, due to their location and activities amid it. felt like a 1-night charge would have better a better option, very poor customer service. Never slept there but paid heavily not to do so. Therefore, no need to comment on the room

Beautiful stay. I was looking for a quiet and safe place to travel on my own. Vila Rodriguez and the apartment I stayed in felt like a second home. I had exceptional sleeps as the bed is super comfy and could cook some nice meals as the kitchen is perfectly equipped. I couldn’t wish for more. I will definitely come back. Thank you again as well to the staff who is caring and helpful at any time.

Very stylishly designed and ideally situated for experiencing everything Lisbon has to offer. Great concept – boutique scale but with enough space/separation that you're not constantly falling over other guests. We were v glad to avoid unpleasant AirBnB surprises and soulless chain hotels. Superb value for money too. Highly recommend.

Boutique
Torel Palace Lisbon is a refined hotel located on one of Lisbon's central hillsides, formed from two early 20th-century mansions joined by a courtyard. The boutique hotel offers city views, a restaurant, and an outdoor pool on a red-rooftop terrace overlooking the river. Each room is named after Portuguese royalty and features regal details such as chandeliers and view-framing balconies.
My friends and I selected Torel Palace as our hotel for our 50th birthday group vacation in Lisbon. From the time of booking, the hotel was in touch to make sure all our needs were met and this high level of service continued throughout our stay. We felt very well taken care of from the moment of our arrival; even though it was early and our rooms weren't ready, they offered us complimentary access to the breakfast buffet and hotel amenities. On the day of our very early checkout, they provided us all with take away breakfast bags too! The rooms are all unique and have immense character (as well as great AC, necessary in a Lisbon heat wave!). Clean, roomy, comfortable. The two pools were perfect for relaxing after a day trekking up and down Lisbon's hills, and poolside drink and food service was offered. All of the staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome. The hotel cat did, too. The views from the hotel terrace are fantastic.

Sonja and the entire staff at Torel Palace — you were truly exceptional. We had our welcome cocktail, wedding party get ready at Torel and shared our first look there, and Sonja went above and beyond every single step of the way. She graciously allowed our entire crew to use the hotel for photos, the makeup team, bridal portraits — literally everything we needed. You even saved the day by making sure the vows were delivered to the bride. We honestly cannot express enough how grateful we are to the entire staff at Torel Palace. Sonja, you hit an absolute home run. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. April + Andy

From the time we booked through check out, our experience was amazing! There are so many components to Torel Palace that are just amazing. The view from the top of the tower, their spa experience, their pools, restaurants, etc. they even did some laundry for us! The staff was so kind and fast throughout our stay. We also loved it because it was a bit separated out from the rest of the boutique or major hotels in Lisbon. You really are “center” to everything… everything is a 15-18 minute walk. That said, to get to Torel, you have to walk up a big hill/stairs. I believe typically there is a funicular that takes you up the big hill, but they were shutdown during our stay. Had it been active, it would have been a breeze. All in all, this was an amazing way to start our honeymoon with some of the best views in Lisbon. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone!

Short version: Incredibly overpriced for what it is. Plenty of nearby luxury hotels offer better rooms, locations, and service. Pros: The view is fantastic — breakfast overlooking the city is beautiful. That’s about it. Cons: We stayed six nights in the “Royal Suite with View” (~€600/night) for our anniversary. We’ve stayed in many luxury hotels, and this one fell far short. Service: They lost our luggage after check-in and couldn’t locate it for an hour. Staff communication was poor, and the front desk initially lied about comping a night before offering massages instead. Laundry pickup and delivery were repeatedly delayed or forgotten. Room: Large but badly designed — bathroom far from the bedroom with steps in between, low slanted ceilings, slippery marble shower, no comfortable TV setup, and connected bedside lamps that can’t be turned off individually. Breakfast: Watery eggs, small portions, and a weak buffet — more budget than boutique. Amenities: Pool looks nice but is freezing and unused. Spa smells like sewage at the entrance. “Gym” is tiny — barely fits one person. Location: Perched atop a very steep hill. The nearby funicular has been closed for ages, leaving few transit options and requiring constant uphill walks or Ubers. Bottom line: We left deeply disappointed. Torel Palace looks good on paper but fails in service, comfort, and convenience. Many better options nearby at similar or lower prices. Avoid.

Very beautiful hotel with quality interiors, high ceilings, and stunning views. Room doors are a bit thin and you can hear noises from the corridors. The service is excellent, special thanks to Nicholas, Filipe, and Antonio at the bar. Would love to come back one day!

What an excellent hotel!! The entire staff was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, helpful in making reservations or planning things out. As a solo traveler they made me feel welcomed. Lovely guests too - the sunset cruise was a great way to connect with others. Great location, most things are within walking distance. I would HIGHLY recommend!

Late Birds is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Lisbon. This exclusive men-only hotel offers an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The personalized service is simply outstanding—every member of the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, seen, and completely at ease. The poolside atmosphere is relaxed and social, with fantastic cocktails served throughout the day. One-day visitor passes are a great addition, encouraging a vibrant mix of guests and locals. We especially loved the curated gay tours and the magical gay sailing sunset experience, which offered the perfect opportunity to bond with other guests in a truly special setting. Nestled right in Bairro Alto, Late Birds is within walking distance of the city’s buzzing gay nightlife, yet it feels like a peaceful oasis away from the chaos. It’s rare to find a place that combines comfort, style, community, and impeccable service so effortlessly. We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended to any gay traveler looking for a warm, welcoming, and luxurious stay in Lisbon.

Everything about my stay at The Late Birds Lisbon was amazing. I really appreciated how the staff reached out before my visit to answer questions and even help with bookings—it made arrival stress-free. Ryan’s warm welcome set the tone, and Ricardo along with the rest of the team made me feel both safe and completely at home. Samuel keeps the bar lively and inviting, which was perfect as a solo traveler—it gave me the chance to meet new friends, learn more about Lisbon from fellow guests, and even find dining companions. I also loved that visitor passes allow locals to enjoy the pool and bar, creating a truly social and welcoming atmosphere. If you’re staying here, I also highly recommend booking the sunset sail—it was an unforgettable highlight of my trip. Overall, I’d highly, highly recommend The Late Birds to anyone visiting Lisbon.

The breakfast buffet was fabulous. I wish I stayed longer! I flew to Lisbon from California for a wedding and I was not looking forward to the long flights. Solar dos Mouros Lisboa is a charming boutique hotel tucked away in the winding streets of Alfama. The modern decor and colorful artwork create a cozy atmosphere, but the real highlight is the stunning views from each light-filled room, overlooking the castle or the river. Guests praise the spacious rooms with thoughtful amenities like fresh fruit, water, and coffee makers. The attentive staff goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay, offering early breakfast arrangements and exceptional service.
We had a lovely stay at Solar Dos Mouros when in Lisbon. The hotel is located in Alfama near the castle, close enough to walk to most sights in Lisbon but also far enough removed from the busier tourist areas (that have more of a Times Square vibe) that it’s quiet and feels very authentic. The viewsfrom the terrace and rooms are spectacular. The rooms are comfortable, modern and clean. The biggest selling point, aside from the beautiful view, is the service. Not only is Rio and Francois at the front desk attentive and kind, so is the waitstaff at the terrace. During our stay we felt well taken care of, like we had been long time guests of the hotel. We recommend Solar Dos Mouros highly for these reasons and would stay again our next time in Lisbon!

This hotel was the best place of our stay in Portugal. The view, the location, the room, the breakfast on the terrace. There was always a carafe with Porto wine in our room alongside with water bottles and bowl of fresh fruits. Every day. What a nice touch that made us feel welcomed.

Excellent hotel near the centre of Lisbon. The first impression was amazing. Very helpful staff who were keen to explain the main points of interest in Lisbon. The reception staff even marked all places on a map to take away. The welcome drink was great after the journey. A perfect location to experience Lisbon. Highly recommended hotel. Roof terrace restaurant was fantastic for ambience and views. We all agreed that the staff at this hotel gave the best customer service we have ever seen. Rio, Bruno and everyone were outstanding in helping us throughout our stay. Best ever hotel!

Yes! Lisbon Hostel is a trendy accommodation option that offers a vibrant atmosphere and excellent amenities. The hostel features bright and cozy rooms with blonde wooden floors, French windows, and cheerful decor. Guests can enjoy a guest kitchen, free walking tours, evening drinks, book exchange, board games, and even a Playstation for entertainment. Additionally, the hostel provides complimentary goodies such as milkshakes and pancake breakfasts.
First time solo travelling and I have to say this hostel exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a party hostel and to meet new people I’d definitely recommend. Something important to me was the cleanliness and I can attest to that being the case here. For the majority of time I ate out but the night I didn’t I enjoyed a lovely dinner with unlimited sangria. The location is great most of the places I wanted to go to were a pretty short walk away. All the staff are friendly and accommodating and whether it’s their games nights, bar crawls or walking tours, they’ll be there to talk to ensuring that you get the best out of Lisbon.

I had an amazing experience staying in this hostel. I felt very welcome, safe and comfortable as a solo traveller. I stayed on the women’s only floor and it was clean and not noisy at all. The staff were all incredibly friendly and kind. It is a great place to stay if you are solo and looking to meet people as they have lots of events and a shared common area in the lobby. I went on 2 walking tours with Wendel and Paola, which were both great! I also went on a day tour of Sintra which I also really really enjoyed and thought was a super great price. If you are solo traveling this is an amazing place to stay!

I was recommended this hostel from another traveler while staying at a hostel in Barcelona. He said they were very warm and welcoming and he loved that they did regular family dinners there. I checked it out while I was in Lisbon and was not disappointed. The staff and guests were all very friendly and super helpful. I jumped in to one of their pub crawls (led by Tiago who was just awesome!!) and felt right at home. People looked out for each other and we had a really fun adventure together. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Lisbon.

Great hostel experience at Yes! Fantastic location 2 min walk from Baixa metro and 5 min walk to Pink Street/Time out market along with other bars etc. Room clean and cool with air con Lovely staff too who arranged for me to swap beds on my second night (as the bottom was empty and I find it easier at the bottom) and everything wasn’t any hassle for them. It’s a shame I had a football match to attend otherwise I would have tried the pub crawls and other activities, obrigado Yes! team

What a wonderful experience this was. One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Perfect location (right by the central square), amazing daily dinners (mouthwatering piri piri chicken), and daily evening activities with unreal pub crawls (shout out to Tiago R)! There was a small error with my room booking upon arrival but Thulio was so kind and patient and worked with me to figure out a happy compromise - I am very thankful. The hostel is very clean with fantastic sound insulation despite the lively main floor events. I couldn’t hear any of it from my dorm. For the ladies, they have an entirely female dedicated floor - no men allowed. The security is excellent. I’ve made some amazing friends here and the loveliest forever memories. Overall, I can’t recommend this location enough. Book it!

It offers 22 comfortable and luxurious suites in a renovated 19th-century palace, although it does not have mini-bars or room service. The property features a lounge, two rooftop restaurant/bars, and a free breakfast buffet. The Decadente restaurant has undergone changes to include a new raw bar and an impressive selection of wines by the glass.
Enjoying my stay here. the place is very clean and the people have been friendly. Lourdes in the breakfast room was a highlight and brightened our mornings!!there is only one remote for the ac in the whole place so we weren't able to control it over night which led to a very hot room. other than that this place has been fantastic for a quick stay in Lisbon. very good location, its close to everything.
Rubi K — Google review
Great place to stay! The hotel (separate from the hostel) is well-located if you enjoy a good nightlife, which is only a minute or two away. It's located across the street from a nice park with a beautiful viewpoint (nice place to watch the sunrise over castle walls!) and there was a cute market while we were there. Our room was a couple of floors up from street level and it was quiet allowing us to get a good night's sleep but earplugs were provided just in case. The bathroom was basic but neat, bring your own hairdryer as I didn't see one in the room. The included breakfast provided variety and was nice to enjoy in a quiet courtyard setting. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the metro (with luggage!) and easily accessible by bus, Uber, etc. The front desk staff were kind and helpful with our questions. If there had been availability during the rest of our stay in Lisbon, we would have booked to stay here again!
Nikki G — Google review
Staff at the front desk and the kitchen were very friendly and very competent. The common areas are nice and the facility is clean. It's very loud at night on the street and sometimes within the other dorms too. After 11 or midnight, staff should request quiet hours and ask people loudly socializing in the rooms to keep it down. Curtains are a must at hostels but this hostel does not have any. I highly recommend it for privacy and also to keep bright lights out. Overall okay but would not stay here again.
Aria E — Google review
The view from the park across the street is the best part of this location. “Mama” provides a warm and inviting greeting for breakfast in the morning. Front desk staff seemed put out every time and there were a number of problems. Hallway lighting was non existent at times. No shampoo or lotion or tissues or shelves in shower to put own. WiFi was nonexistent or intermittent in each of the 3 different rooms we had. They supply earplugs in every room which is indicative of the noise levels coming from the street, the alley, the on-property restaurant and rooftop bar. Noise from rooftop bar patrons coming down stairs until 2am made sleep difficult. AC quit working second of 5 nights and they moved us to “a smaller room” where the AC worked, but never an apology or “sorry you have to change rooms” or any compensation offered. Asked for compensation for moving to what staff described as “a smaller room” and manager blamed us for breaking the AC and occupying 2 rooms while they tried and failed to fix the AC. We stayed at 4 other hotels in a variety of locations during 2 weeks in Portugal and all were so much better than this hotel.

We stayed at Independente Príncipe Real and I loved it. It’s not a luxury hotel, but an authentic, charming, antique property in a great location. The staff were very responsive, and while the breakfast didn’t have much variety, everything was light and high quality.

Cozy little hotel well placed near Bairro Alto. The staff were lovely and the breakfast buffet was neat. The room was a bit too humid but it's expected with the age of the building and size of the rooms.
Tobias L — Google review
Idk who they are paying to give them positive reviews because there's no way I stayed in the same building. There's legit black mould telling you where the water pipes are behind the walls. I get that it's a hostel, but there's a limit to which you can curb your expectations for basic stuff such as cleanliness and safety. At least, the included breakfast was ok and its staff much better than the front desk's.

FYI :The bunkbeds were 3 high lol. Nice hostel with a huge well stocked kitchen. The hostel is located at the top of a steep hill off the main st. It's a hike up or you can take the tram ( fyi save your ticket as it's good for roundtrip !). Walking distance to bus/train station. LISBON is swarming with tourists :(

Lisbon Cheese & Wine Suites is a boutique hotel located in the trendy Santos neighborhood of Lisbon. It offers a unique concept that combines homey hospitality with luxurious B&B accommodation in a contemporary setting. The hotel provides an incredible selection of local cheeses and fine wines upon arrival, making it an ideal choice for food enthusiasts. Guests can enjoy contemporary rooms and suites, along with a terrace and delicious breakfast.
Lisbon Cheese and Wine Suites is a unique and wonderful hotel in the heart of Lisbon. It’s in a quiet area but very close to attractions as well as shops and restaurants. The welcome glass of wine with cheese upon our arrival was such a nice touch. The breakfast each morning was fantastic. Our room was lovely and spacious, although it was a bit dark as it faced an inner courtyard. We would request a different room next time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to a return visit.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed! The room was spacious, clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower was excellent and everything was spotless. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast, it may not have a huge selection, but it had everything you need and was quite satisfying. The five stars go to the attentive and professional reception staff and the very polite breakfast team, who made my stay even better. I also loved the thoughtful evening complimentary treats, which added a nice touch to my stay. The location is perfect, quiet and safe, yet still easy to access everything. To make the experience even better, I would suggest adding fridges in the rooms and improving the corridor flooring, as I could hear footsteps quite clearly sometimes. However, aside from that, everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

Located close to the city centre and transit stops. Alot of great restaurants and bars within walking distance. Currently there is ongoing construction around the hotel but there is no noise at night. Our room was clean and big enough for 2 people. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We were on the ground floor and heard guests walking upstairs and closing the main door. The walls are thin and some times heard the guests in the room beside us cough/sneeze/and walking around at night. Service was amazing, we received free cheese and glasses of wine at check in. Daily breakfast was included and fresh with many food options. They also store your luggage if needed. It would be better if there was a locked room/closet for luggage storage and not just in the back of the dining room.

With more change at the dishes served for breaktfast and an earlier house keeping (at my room between 3-6pm) it will be 5 stars for sure.

At first I was honestly afraid I was going to have to leave a bad review on this property based on the room I was booked into stay in for the bed and breakfast but everything turned around for the best thanks to two individuals with the reception staff. Helena and Rafaela were so great in trying to get me moved from the ground floor to the first floor based on noise and also needing WiFi that worked during the time. They were so great! Can’t speak highly enough of them in checking in on me to make my stay was going well and answering any questions I had in regards to the city or transportation. If you are wanting a quieter atmosphere def you want to ask to be off the ground floor as it can be quite loud as breakfast starts early in the morning. The actual site to the location is great walking distance to pharmacy, metro station, and local restaurants/ shops. There is some construction going down the street at the time so just bear that in mind. There is also a cute little bar called “culture” next door I would recommend for an evening drink. The housing keeping staff were very efficient and also the bath towels were very large which is always nice. I will say there a lot of other European families vacationing and bringing their kids here so it can be quite loud during breakfast time especially with children running around. So if you are specifically looking for an adults only place this is not it. Would stay here again based on interactions I had with the reception staff and accommodations.

I would have given it a 5, and it will be after the construction is co.pleted and dust is removed. The breakfast was a highlight and my newly renovated room was spacious and comfortable with a full kitchen. The staff are so.e of the best I've experienced during my travels. Joel is a standout. From a sweet bite delivered to your room nightly, to a personally scribed farewell note and travel cookies to take on your journey, C&W team goes above and beyond.

Room space and location itself were amazing. That being said, the wifi and hot water didn’t work for two days. The sink in our bathroom was dripping. There is ongoing construction on the street outside cheese & wine suites, but the hotel itself is also being renovated. The lobby had a very strong smell of paint for our entire stay and there was constant noise during the day. Staff made some mistakes with the billing, but ultimately refunded me for the extra charge. Breakfast was OK. Staff was loudly yelling at each other. My recommendation is to look for another place in Lisbon.

⸻ If you have the chance, don’t take it. This place is misleading, it’s actually a hostel, even though they advertised it as an Airbnb. We were tricked by false advertising. I left a bracelet in the bathroom because another girl walked in, so I waited outside. When she left, my bracelet was gone. I went to reception, and they told me they couldn’t do anything about it because they don’t even trust their own staff. I couldn’t believe they said that about their own employees. It’s extremely noisy you can literally hear everything because the floors creak. If you’re a light sleeper, this is not for you. If you don’t want your things stolen and don’t want to melt from the heat (since there’s no air conditioning), then don’t stay here. They’ll rob you and honestly, it shows they’re experienced at it.

Had a great 2 night stay here! Staff was very friendly and helpful. They were accommodating to getting us 3 single beds for our stay. Breakfast was simple but great for included in price! Good location with easy walking distance to good restaurants, bars, museums, and shopping. Would stay again!

We stayed here for eight days, but the room was smaller than I had anticipated. Our rooms view wasn’t nice. The breakfast was sufficient, though it was consistently served cold. The room cleaning was acceptable, and the location was convenient with easy access to transportation.

Pretty central location, good and comfortable hotel, staff are AMAZING and lovely. Rooms are a tiny bit small and you can hear your neighbours but this is not a huge issue at all. Wonderful, accommodating staff. Would recommend you stay here!

We had an awesome stay! The hotel was great, staff was amazing 🥰 Marta, Joao, Pedro, Claudia, and Sonia made our experience in Lisbon great. They were more than accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed and wanted. We so enjoyed the breakfast, patio and the comfort of our rooms. Thank you soooo much.

Fantastic location, easy walk to metro and great access to the rest of Lisbon. The staff was so helpful, accommodating, and went above and beyond to get us checked in early after a long flight. The rooms are small, but the breakfast, staff, and location more than make up for it.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, front desk staff were so welcoming and helpful with recommendations for dinner, sights and more! Rooms did the job and were clean, we had a small standard room that we didn’t spend much time in. Good breakfast spread and nice location if you’re open to walking, which we were. Plenty of restaurants nearby!

Great location, amazing breakfast, everything was perfect except the late night check in. We arrived after midnight and have troubles to reach the front desk. But eventually our problem was solved. The staff were very nice and they helped with everything we asked.

Pensão Estação Central is a 2-star hotel in Lisbon, conveniently located just 550 meters from Rossio Square. The property offers 40 rooms with comfortable beds and functional amenities. Despite its central location, the rooms provide a quiet retreat when the windows are closed. Guests appreciate the budget-friendly rates and the helpfulness of the 24-hour reception staff.
Great location that allows you to walk to many places, also with a subway located at just 3 min distance. 24 hours reception which is really good. There was a problem with the hot water but when I asked they said they are gonna fix it, which they did. The room needs some improvements and the cleaning can be better in my opinion but in rest everything was okay. So let's say that for the money you pay, it's acceptable for 2/3 days.
ISeeCølørs — Google review
Pensão Estação Central When a professional photographer takes pictures of a structure, he tries to highlight all the positive features. In fact, when you look at the photos of this guesthouse, first on Booking, then on Google Maps, you don't realize the discomfort you're going to face. I've never written a review of this kind. Reviews can be positive or negative, of course, but I've never come across a review that is two-faced: advertising on one side; reality on the other. The photographs on the internet don't give a good idea of the discomfort you'll have to face once you're inside this guesthouse. I don't want to be offensive, but photographic reality is one thing and real reality is another. The administration should keep the guesthouse the same as it advertises. The reception in the photographs seemed clean and tidy. In reality, when you arrive, it's like a warehouse with mountains of stuff. You immediately feel like you've arrived in a place forgotten by God. The rooms. The rooms are dirty. We were a group and had two rooms. Both were dirty. From the photographs, you can see that all the rooms were full of hair. The hair wasn't ours. You can see it clearly from the photos. The closets were full of black sand whose origin we don't know, see the photos attached here. The floors are laminate. Laminate is a type of cardboard that absorbs sewage and swells. But then it stinks. You can see in the photos both the burst laminate and the compressed cardboard skirting board. All materials that absorb mold. So for cleanliness it's worth only one star, and not two. The curtains had knobs covered in sticky material: maybe they hadn't been cleaned for years. I didn't dare touch the sticky surfaces of the windows either. The chair cushion was full of stains and I never sat on that chair. But now let's describe the real gem of this guesthouse: the bathroom. The floor of our bathroom had hair and so I assume the cleaning staff didn't come by. You can see clearly from the photos how small the bathroom is. It was 60 cm by two and a half meters. You can see the size of the bathroom from the photos. The toilet seat wouldn't stay open, so when I was sitting I was always on my back. Also, the toilet seat was smaller than the toilet seat itself. So it felt like I was sitting on old plastic. But that's not all! The bathroom was so narrow that my knees couldn't be in front of me, I had to sit on my side, and I'm 1.70 cm tall, normal, I'm a normal person! But that's not all, the real gem in this bathroom is the shower. Most likely there used to be a tub here, the tub was removed, a wall was built, and the tub faucet remained there, useful for saving money. The tub faucet is at hip height, so to take a shower you have to hold the shower head in your hand. There's no simple hook high up on the wall to hold the shower head to the wall, the shower head had to be kept on the floor or you had to keep one hand busy. And that's not all. Since the faucet is at arm height, and since the shower is very small, I often found myself bumping into the lever and PUFF!! I turned on the boiling water! Or zacchete! And I turned on the freezing water! In short, a shocking delirium. A ruined vacation for having chosen this guesthouse. And then without a bidet! The bidet makes people clean!! It should be installed everywhere!!! There is no air conditioning and no heating!!

I got a worst experience in my whole life. For starters I have to wait for my room for two hours and when i finally had one I found that room I got wasn’t the one I paid for. I saw a blonde lady before me say : thanks for switching that room is nicer, it’s clear as water that the receptionist gave my room ( I specifically requested a quiet one on the upper floor ) to another guest. I politely asked for another room according to my previous request but receptionist refused in very rude manner, he treat me like a dirt. The person at the reception was very aggressive and intimidating towards me .it was my first time in Lisbon and it was a awful experience. The hotels like that shouldn’t be allowed it’s was a real nightmare.
Angelique — Google review
The place is basic but the location is fantastic, right behind Rossio's train station. They could renovate a little and make it more pleasant, especially the corridors and reception area. But the room was clean and the mattress wasn't bad. Quite ok for a weekend. Our room had one double bed, one single and private bathroom. Convenient for a small family! We thought it was weird that we had to leave the key at reception every time we left but we understand it might be for security reasons considering the location. In any case, the owner was always there so we never had to wait.
Sofia P — Google review
The WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. 59€ per night is ROBBERY! The receptionist is an elder man that is ARROGANT and IMPOLITE. The worst receptionist that I have ever met. Room is SMELLY (humidity and oldness) and is pathetically small. Virtually no space apart from the bed. Everything is OLD. Bathroom is a disaster. Tiny and not clean. Towels are placed on the top of shower curtain!!! There's even no holder for the showerhead. See picture.
Jiqing S — Google review
Horrible experience. Bed bugs alert, don’t come. One of our roommates got bitten. Grumpy staff, dirty and smelly room and shower. No a/c. The view was broken windows. Dirty bed sheets. No elevators in a hotel. One of my worst experiences at a hotel. It is not even worth the cheap price. Only the location is good.
김상영 — Google review
bed was quite hard, room was boiling (no AC, just one fan, stale smell mentioned in other comments was also there. Bathroom showers have nothing to hold the shower head. On the other hand, the service was good and location was excellent. Manageable for 1 or 2 nights max! This was in the regular double room.
M — Google review
It's a very nice tourist centered location around many restaurants and food markets. There were two large windows to let the fresh air in the room. The staffing personnel were nice with good customer service!! Daily room maintenance was a must. But I prefer no room service until I check out, and they dont have that option. But the bathroom was the TINIEST I've seen. It's so small that you could use the toilet (you had to sit on it sideways, bc there's no room to sit on it correctly) and wash your face in the sink at the same time. The shower was tiny. You go inside and have no room to move. There's No fridge in the room, AND the towel was an insult!! The towel was so starchy-like, it was so dry, you could grate veggies with it literally. I only use it to dry my shower shoes, though. I always bring my own towel when staying outside my house anyway. On the plus side, there was a regular full bathroom near across the hallway, and anyone could use it.

Casa do Jasmim Boutique Guesthouse is a cozy and affordable accommodation option located in the Principe Real neighborhood of Lisbon. The staff is friendly and eager to offer local tips for exploring the area.
You cannot beat the location and the service is really great- the entire team is very warm and welcoming. My husband and I had an early flight on our day of check out so we were going to miss breakfast, the team went out of their way to drop us a care package the night before to take with us the next morning! It was extremely kind and a prime example of the extra mile the team goes here! Highly recommend

The room I stayed in was not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, which made for a relaxing retreat. The bed was a dream to sleep in, but the true highlight of my stay was the complimentary breakfast. It featured farm-fresh eggs along with an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables that were just bursting with flavor. It was a perfect start to the day! I highly recommend Hotel Casa do Jasmim by Shiadu to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The attention to detail and the warm hospitality provided by the staff are sure to make your visit memorable!

Casa do Jasmim is a gem in the heart of the city. First impressions leave you wondering if you made the correct choice in booking, but only due to the hotels availability to blend into the surroundings, adding to the quaintness of the community. The real magic happens when they open the door to your well appointed, and spaceous, room. The quality of this hotel continues to reveal itself in it's provided breakfast made from ingredients they have grown on their own farm. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. When returning to Lisbon, this will be my first choice in lodging. Highly recommended

We had the most wonderful stay at Casa do Jasmim! The room we had fit our needs perfectly with clean facilities, plenty of space, functioning A/C, and an incredible view overlooking the city. Also, the location could not have been better at the top of Bairro Alto, no more than a 15-20 min walk to most things. We look forward to coming back on our next visit to Lisbon. THANK YOU! -Lucas & Devynn

I very much enjoyed my stay at this charming bed and breakfast. The location is beautiful and convenient, with lovely surroundings that make it easy to relax and explore. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and I loved the great view from the window. Breakfast was a real highlight — a nice selection served in a peaceful courtyard that’s perfect for starting the day slowly. The staff were consistently helpful and friendly, making the stay even more pleasant. A quick note about the layout: there are stairs in the property. They weren’t an issue for me, but if you prefer to minimize stairs, mention that when you make your reservation and request a first-floor room. Overall, a delightful place I’d happily return to.

We paid approximately €218 for a two-night stay in late October. Unfortunately, there was no hot water during one of the nights, just before our long-haul flight. I was traveling with an elderly lady who cannot take a cold shower, so she went without one until we returned to our country after a 20-hour journey. When we checked out, the property owner assured us that we would receive a refund for the night without hot water. However, we spent a month to sort out the refund. To be fair, the property agreed to the refund but had issues processing the payment. Meanwhile, the booking platform (booking.com) confirmed their agreement but kept stating that the property needed to recharge their account to process the refund. Ultimately, the platform decided to refund me on the property’s behalf to avoid further delays. I’m still unsure why this process was so complicated. What’s disappointing is the feeling of false promises, which only makes everything worse. I want to ensure other visitors are aware of a few things: - The building is old, and facilities may break down; it seems the hot water tank malfunctions occasionally, so hot water may not be guaranteed. - The room was well-furnished, with no unpleasant smells upon check-in, and the air conditioning was already turned on.

Our flight arrival has changed and that’s why we could not reach the property within the usual check in time. The personal was unhelpful and would not help us to solve this situation. We even asked to pay extra to get later check in but they would not help us to solve this unfortunate situation. In the end we had to book another accommodation and have not gotten any money back for this room. Very poor service, would not recommend.

Worst experience I ever had in a hotel. No privacy, no curtains, no sleep. In short: When I arrived the room seemed nice. But it was very bright and had no curtains. The room has mirrors on the walls. Sun rises close to 6. Other hotel/rooms can look into your fully mirrored curtainless room. The reception was supposed to open 6 but did not pick up the phone. When I walked to the reception (06:40) there was no one. At 7 there was a receptionist, she told me the curtains where arriving today and that they were fully booked and no one else had complained. I luckily just stayed here for one night. Never coming back and absolutely do not recommend. I could have named some things that I did like, but the minimal base of what an hotel should give (a place to sleep) was missing.

first off: the location of the hotel itself is amazing! it has a bunch of nice cafes and restaurants around it. however, the hotel isn't well maintained. The bathroom sink kept floosing because of the clogged pipes; toilet didnt really flush well. furthermore there was an incredible stench in the room we couldn't get out no matter how much we kept the windows open. the bathroom and shower are seperated but have glass "walls" so whomever you're sharing your room with, will see you doing your business in there. The bedding had various stains on it and we didnt get any fresh towels during our 4 day stay. no shampoo or other toiletries are offered besides soap. the nights are incredibly loud from the street and the hotel itself so if you're looking for restful nights, i can't recommend this hotel. The wifi didnt work at all even though the property advertised with highspeed wifi.

Great apartment in good location. Has separate living room with limited kitchen. Coffee machine, kettle, fridge, cups and glasses. No silverwear, plates or bowls but all can be bought from a small supermarket behind the theatre. No cooker, microwave or kitchen sink. Bedroom and bathroom good, superhot water, once its warmed up.
Paul S — Google review
The bed is comfy and the location is decent. That’s the only good thing I’ve got to say about this place. We were in Room 15, on the first floor and it stays loud till past 1am as it’s above 3 restaurants with music. The bathroom door doesn't "close" as there's a giant hole where the doorknob would be. It gives you and your partner a great little peek at each other while you're in the toilet. 😂 The wash basin is located separate from it. The shower has mould in the lining. Normally, l'd ignore it all but the attitude from some staff regarding our air-conditioning leaking through our entire visit is what irritated me. They told us a technician would come fix it. No technician ever arrived over the 3 days we stayed there. We had to ask for a spare towel every single day, sometimes thrice, just to have them say on the final day, "No clean towels available." I'd let my husband deal with them the whole time, but that was my final straw. No clean towels in your whole hotel? And then when I had to go down, and pull a Karen-level fit, suddenly there was a clean towel available as well as a new room for us to sleep in. Incredibly disappointed that you do not help people when they are nice. We needed to be awful for an actual response?! Just be honest with your customers, instead of lying or not communicating at all! TLDR; If you booked this hotel, good luck to you.

Nestled in the heart of Lisbon, Dalma Old Town Suites offers a unique blend of comfort and style with its relaxed rooms and well-equipped apartments featuring kitchens. The property boasts an inviting tapas restaurant and wine bar, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Its design pays homage to the industrial aesthetics of the 1960s, highlighted by high-back leather chairs and wooden panels that create a warm atmosphere.
Great place. We had the top floor, 2 bedroom suite and it was fantastic. With a kitchen, living room and 2 bedrooms, it was perfect for our couple days in Lisbon. I wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was delicious, with everything you could want, including eggs, pastries, fruit, great coffee, choice of juice, and so much more. The location is amazing, right on the #28 tram. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go and took the 28 back if we were tired of walking. From what I saw in Lisbon, this is the best neighborhood to stay. Highly recommend.

Perfectly located in the heart of the tourist hotspot Alfama. Not so easy to reach by car, but the streetcar stop is right outside the door. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the room was very small due to the age of the building, so you could hardly open your suitcase. And why are there never any wall hooks or shelves in such rooms? If you are traveling to Lisbon without luggage, highly recommended.

Had a great stay at Dalma. The rooms are very clean, charming and stylish with views of the bustling cafes and streets below. Very busy area but the sound proof windows and room darkening shades provided plenty of privacy and quiet. Just walk out the door and jump right into exploring Lisbon, very fun location.

I had the most amazing stay at Dalma Old Town Suites in Lisbon! I stayed in one of the best rooms with an incredible view. The room itself was stunning, with three beautiful balconies, a full kitchen, and a spacious bedroom that made it feel like a luxurious home away from home. To top it off, they had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for me when I arrived—a thoughtful and welcoming touch that set the tone for the rest of my stay. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff made me feel welcome right from the start. Breakfast was perfect—fresh, delicious, and just what I needed before heading out to explore. But the true highlight was the view! Whether I was sipping wine in the evening or enjoying coffee in the morning, the breathtaking scenery from the balconies was unforgettable. The location was also ideal, within walking distance to all the main attractions. Just a heads-up: Lisbon has lots of hills, so get your climbing shoes ready! But with such a beautiful and vibrant city to explore, it’s totally worth it. I highly recommend Dalma Old Town Suites for anyone looking for a combination of comfort, luxury, and the perfect Lisbon experience!

First and foremost, the staff at the hotel was wonderful. I had great conversations with them. They were so helpful. The room, esthetically, looks really quaint when you walk in, but it was not clean and lacked lighting. I found mold in the shower and a bunch of hair that didn’t belong to me. And when natural light hit the quilt in the morning, I was appalled at the stains inside the duvet. Knowing that they were booked and my time was short- stayed, I slept with the bed sheet and pushed the duvet to the side. This hotel has the potential to be better if the room was better kept.

Highly recommend Dalma Old Town Suites. Beautiful room with a tiny balcony was great to people watch from. There was a lot of street noise, but once the windows were closed you couldn't hear anything. Very comfortable bed. Our flight was delayed getting in and the staff was very easy to get a hold of and very helpful/accommodating. The location in Alfama is perfect for exploring Lisbon and felt very safe. Breakfast is delicious.

Beautiful hotel! Better than I expected for the price. I was given room 2C Which was to the back of the hotel so you don’t get the view that you were from the front however it’s very peaceful and you’re not disrupted by the noise of the street outside. The room was clean, spacious and well equipped. As a woman travelling by herself, I found it to be very secure and I felt very safe. At check-in, the lady who greeted me was friendly welcoming made me feel very comfortable. She then took me to my room and gave me a code for the door which not even the person on reception has said that no one can get into the room other than you. As someone travelling on their own is always a bonus. I wish I’d taken her name As she was extremely helpful throughout my stay not only with recommendations of places to go but just as a friendly welcoming face each time I came in. Located in a perfect spot just round the corner from a beautiful viewing platform plenty of shops and restaurants and only a few minutes walk from the castle. Certainly worth considering that this is one of the points of Lisbon so there are lots of hills and stairs to the hotel most of the tourist attractions but trams go from outside the hotel. Will certainly be re booking for my next visit.

Beyond my expectations! Excellent hotel, everything is excellent, the location, the service, the breakfast and the room. The two ladies both name Maria were very nice, they do anything to make you happy, we had a early morning flight and they packed our breakfast to go for us. Don’t miss the delicious breakfast, so good. The room is very good size, a king size bed (not a double bed as they advertised) , has a kitchen net with stove top, espresso machine, pots and pans, kettle, bathroom has separate toilet and shower, a lot of water pressure. Of course the location is central, walkable to everything, Tran 28, bus stop, metro all nearby, and the famous view point just 1 minute walk. I can not say enough how Wonderful this hotel is, it gives you the old town Lisbon feel, not to mention very reasonable price, I definitely will come back. Tip: take the Uber from the airport, only $8 euros save your luggage and your legs, the uphill and the cobblestone.

The house is lovely, rooms are nice and the staff is super friendly. The area is safe and quiet but not when there is an important football game, then the locals go crazy on the streets as they have a public viewing nearby. So be aware of that. The only issue was the shared bathrooms, there just isn’t enough when the hotel is full. Also, there was a problem getting hot water in the shower. I think the house has a gas boiler (saw it in the kitchen) and it just doesn’t function the best in terms of hot showers.

This place is AMAZING!!! I honestly cannot recommend it enough! All the staff were really kind and welcoming, and even the other guests were so nice. The room my partner and I were staying in was big and comfy, and the bed as well. There were three available bathrooms to be shared between all the rooms, which proved to be enough. The kitchen was fully equipped, sans an oven/stove top due to safety reasons, but there was a fridge, a kettle, a sink, and a microwave. There wasn't officially a breakfast option, but they would bring us each a water bottle, a juice, and a pastry in the morning which was really lovely. We also had tea/coffee available to make at all times for free. There was a common area as well, like a big dining room, with tables and chairs, and a small terrace for the smokers or people who just want to enjoy the view. There were multiple stores and pastry shops nearby. There was an elevator in the building as well which was super useful considering the suitcases. A metro station is really close by so the location is very good too! I felt like I was at home, it was so cozy. I was really sad to leave, honestly, and can't wait to go to Lisbon again and stay here! If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Excellent stay. Room was really clean and the service was excellent. Will definitely be back!

A very pleasant stay that's so clean with a nice view from the entrance in the room to the balcony, great value for my stay, and I stayed 4 nights. The room was lovely with comfortable beds and a heater, there was 3 shared bathrooms on the 1st floor to choose from with a kitchen, they always provided free drinks with tea and coffee bags and with a crossant each a day. It is an amazing location where you can easily access the city's main touristic places. I would return if I visit Lisbon again!

The staff are absolutely fantastic. Lucas was a gem of a receptionist, super accommodating and helpful every step of the way. There was an issue with a room which they kindly resolved quickly. The rooms themselves are basic but good, small kitchenette is also available. Convenient location also. Would recommend!
Sima M — Google review
Highly recommend! This is a very, very clean apartment. They clean it several times a day even with only us and one other person on our floor. A nice balcony, comfortable bed, a workingspace, enough space. The first floor, can be reached by elevator, has 5 rooms and three bathrooms (one with bath), a kitchen, (with a xxl-refrigerator, no gas). Suited near a metrostation, 3 stops from the old city and 4 to the Plaça do Commercio, down the Taag. We'll be back!

City Lofts Lisbon is a charming boutique hotel with lovely views. Although there were some maintenance issues, the staff made every effort to resolve them. The 14-room space can be noisy, but the service is outstanding with daily fresh towels and complimentary coffee and tea. The modern and clean bathrooms are shared, and the location is convenient for exploring Lisbon's center. However, noise from inside and outside can be a drawback.
We stayed at the City Lofts for a total of 5 nights over the course of a few weeks because we really felt comfortable & welcome, and the service provided by the small team is amazing. They are always helpful if you have a question no matter what topic. The City lofts are on the 4th floor so depending on the room number you might even have a nice view on Lisboa's rooftops. Everything is nicely renovated with white walls and an old wooden floor that, together with the indirect lighting, gives you a really nice warm "at home" feeling. The value, especially in the off-season, is hard to beat, considering that you will stay in the heart of the nicest and most lively quarter in Lisboa with many bars, great restaurants and overall good ambience.

stayed for 4 nights. it was a clean and cozy place with a feeling of home, generally very quiet and peaceful. the beds were super comfy which came as a surprise. plus, a proper supermarket was just a hop, skip and a jump away. the staff were also very nice, especially Carolina who cared a lot for the guests.
Aryan L — Google review
We had a great experience at City Lofts. The service was outstanding, with fresh towels everyday and they even organised our things. They also provide free coffee and tea and there’s a fridge, that’s free to use in the common area. Bathrooms were modern and clean and we had no issues with sharing. It’s located in a great area, very easy to walk to the center. Lots of cute cafes and restaurants in the area. Would recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon!

Beautiful guest house. Staff are so attentive, the rooms were cleaned each day and super comfortable. The common spaces were relaxing and lovely to spend time in. The bathrooms are clean and private. Will be back next time I’m in Lisbon

Stay here if you wanna wake up at 7am and leave very early. There are lots of rooms in a small space with very thin walls, the floor boards are squeaky so its loud every time anyone walks by your room. The cleaners come to clean the common bathrooms at 8am and make a LOT of noise, huge construction going on right next door and they start drilling at 8am.. The only good thing is that the location is great..
Sam G — Google review
Very clean and tidy - no breakfast on offer but plenty of free bits to tide you over. Lots of cafes nearby. Good location for getting busses/metros around the city. Friendly service!
Matt F — Google review
This place has several rooms and 4 common bathrooms. My room was quite big, the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately there was no view from the window. The bathrooms were on most occasions clean, but sometimes the toilets were dirty. The staff is extremely kind. The biggest problem was noise. From the hall, from other rooms and from outside. You really hear everything. The location is good - 20 min walk to the old town.
Luka V — Google review
I got quite a lot of mosquito or bug bites over night during my stay (hotel checked and confirmed no bed bugs), with bites on my foot, legs, arms, pretty much everywhere.. besides this, my stay here was good-convenient location, great service, and clean room

Nestled in a prime location, Seven Dreams Suites is an ideal retreat for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. Just a short stroll from the metro and a bustling shopping center, this accommodation offers easy access to the city's attractions. The suites are clean and spacious, providing a cozy atmosphere for relaxation after exploring. While some guests noted that the walls could be thin, making conversations audible, many appreciated the natural light streaming through the windows.
We stayed here for New Year. The staff was super hospitable, they planned and recommended a sightseeing itinerary for all our days. They gave us a bottle of champagne and snacks for New Year – so cute). The presence of a kitchen is also very convenient and comfortable! Location - perfect! The only downside is the lack of hangers and storage space in the room.
Kate K — Google review
I had a wonderful stay at Seven Dreams Suites! The room was very clean, comfortable, and exactly as shown in the photos. The location is great and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. I felt very welcome and appreciated all the little touches. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lisbon!

Location: excellent (close to shopping center, many tourist sites and restaurants) Safe: (3 security doors until you get to the room & nice neighborhood) Room: (clean, comfortable and functional with coffee machine inside) Service: very thoughtful staff. Infrastructure: (complete kitchen and laundry) Food and drinks available, if needed.
Regis R — Google review
This place is labeled as a 3-star hotel on Google Maps, but in reality, it’s an unmanned motel with a self-check-in system and no reception desk. We booked through Agoda, and there was no mention of it being a self-check-in property, nor was it stated that the room was located in the basement (B1). If we had known it was in the basement, we would never have made the reservation. Despite having a confirmed booking, we did not receive any self-check-in information (like the front door code) via email or phone. We were only able to enter the building after one hour thanks to a kind building manager who happened to be there. If it weren’t for him, we would have had to make a same-day booking at a different hotel. The manager contacted the admin, and only then did we receive the check-in instructions and room information via WhatsApp. I don’t use WhatsApp, so if it weren’t for my friend who does, we might have been stuck outside. We tried calling the number listed on Agoda five times, but it went straight to voicemail every time—completely useless. The room itself was generally clean, but since it was in the basement, ventilation was poor, and there was mold on the shower head. On the positive side, the kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of utensils. Overall, the whole experience felt much more like an Airbnb than a hotel, which makes it ironic that it’s advertised as a 3-star hotel.

Stayed 1 night. Room was nicely decorated but the bathroom was small which is the case with almost all hotels/Air b&bs. It's located in a residential area with El Corte right across the street and it has a good food court. Also metro walking distance as well so easy to commute. Will stay again.
Rehmat S — Google review
I stayed at Seven Dreams while traveling and the service and cleanliness was excellent. Amin was so kind and allowed us to check in early, and leave our bags! (We arrived at 10am). The communication was great and so was the location. I recommend and would stay again!
Julia — Google review
Nice clean Airbnb. Rooms are good but the shower is small however that's the case in all of Lisbon so can't really complain. There is a very nice common area with full service kitchen and balcony which can be a great place to sit, have coffee and relax with a bunch of friends. It has a large flat screen tv there too
Sarf — Google review
Three cockroaches in the bathroom. Hundreds of dead flies on the bedroom floor. Videos attached for proof. This place was disgusting, and their customer service afterwards was equally bad - evasive, uncommunicative, gaslighting - telling me the place had been thoroughly cleaned despite me showing them videos of the cockroaches and dead flies, avoiding my emails and contact. The rooms are underground - overly humid, zero light, and because it's an 'aparthotel' there was nobody on site to speak to about these issues. One star is too many. Please stay elsewhere. Even without the infestation of dead and living bugs, there are many better value places in Lisbon.

Self-catering accommodation
ZUZABED B&B LISBON SUITES offers a delightful blend of space and privacy, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking comfort in the heart of Lisbon. With six spacious suites designed for two guests each and one larger suite accommodating four, this charming establishment caters to various group sizes. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchens, although they note that breakfast is self-cooked and could benefit from a trip to the supermarket for more variety.
If it were possible to give 6 stars I would! Our suite was actually a small apartment, with a large, sunny kitchen. It was immaculate and very well-equipped. There can't be many holiday apartments that offer breakfast and deliver fresh bread to your door every day. The location was perfect, in our favourite neighbourhood in Lisbon, and our host Luis was warm and welcoming. There was some noise at night from diners at the restaurants below, which I imagine increases in summer, but it wasn't an issue for us. We loved Lisbon and we loved our accommodation. Would definitely recommend.
Helen G — Google review
Luis was wonderful and extremely helpful in terms of ideas of things to do and how to navigate the city. The service and location were great. The room had a few issues. The floor needs to be fixed in a few spots and the bathroom needed some work in my unit. The bathroom needs some paint, one of the towel holders needs to be fixed and the shower could use a liner inside the curtain. The rolls were wonderful. I would get rid of the sliced bread and provide two rolls instead. I would definitely stay here again if in Lisbon.
Rob D — Google review
I just spent 7 lovely nights at the Zuza bed B&B Lisbon Suites. It was a perfect place to stay. I walked everywhere, and was totally captivated by the enchantment of Lisbon. Ana was a wonderful welcomer, Luis had all problems sorted, (I had never experienced a door or window like that before!), and Mahess was a friendly and informative provider of my delicious breakfast. It was great having a bath tub to soak in, the little French balconies were so quaint, however my favourite part was the little outside terrace where i loved sippung my morning coffee and watching the swallows and seagulls whirl and twirl.🌹
Caroline B — Google review
I feel bad not issuing 5 stars as Luis was just the best, most friendly host imaginable. The location is fantastic and apartment is “adequate” but loose tiles and shabby furniture that needs upgrading has cost that last star. The bed is comfy, linen good, towels hard and scratchy. Please note if you’re booking that the word “serviced” is different to what I was expecting. A guy pops his head in every second day or so to see if there are towels left on the floor that need replacing - there is no cleaning or bed making which I would normally associate with an apartment being serviced. BUT, everyone is super friendly and it was a really great experience staying at Zuzabed.
Rod J — Google review
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights. The suites are very big and nice. The kitchen is a little bit basic. Breakfast was provided but needs to be self-cooked and was overall good but nothing to rave about. A trip or two to the supermarket would have probably resulted in a better and more tailored breakfast selection. Location is great with short walking distance to many places of interest. It can sometimes be a little bit loud in the evening as there are many restaurants and bars closeby. Overall a very good experience especially for the price.
Thomas E — Google review
My wife and I stayed at ZUZABED B&B Lisbon Suites for 3 nights in late November 2022. Luis is the perfect host. The apartment was spotlessly clean, everything was in order. Luis even picked us up from the airport and gave us a mini tour of the city on the way back into town. Luis gave recommendations for nearby restaurants and invited us out to have wine and tapas and to meet three other couples he was hosting. Lisbon was a perfect stay and in no small part due to our host and his apartment. The location doesn't get better for exploring the Barrio Alto.
Phil A — Google review
The upside is its a great location if you're looking to experience the Lisbon party scene and that the owner is extremely hospitable, both in person and in providing daily breakfast. In light of that, I feel a little bad about it, but I can't give full points to a room that was in such disrepair, with loose tiles and damaged cookware and furniture. Based on other reviews, it seems as if these issues have gone unaddressed for some time.
Vic L — Google review
I absolutely loved my stay while in Lisbon! I had a comfortable room with a beautiful terrace and a panoramic view of Lisbon. There was always drinking water and a strong wifi connection in the room. The B&B is located within walking distance of many fantastic restaurants and important sites in the city. It was easy to catch the train, metro, and tram near this location. I highly recommend staying at Zuzabed!
