Best souvlaki in Athens ! You definitely have to go there. Each sandwich is really cheap. Souvlaki is not that big so I recommend ordering at least two per person (but you will order more because it’s so good). Meat is delicious, juicy and well seasoned. Very friendly staff, family atmosphere. Many if simple (attached) but you don’t need anything more. Don’t go there right before closing time because they can be sold out. It’s a must visit! Highly recommend

The BEST souvlaki place in whole of Athens! I first ordered one souvlaki as I wasn’t really hungry. As soon as I took the first bite I knew I would get another one. The meatballs in the souvlaki were very bouncy and juicy. The staff were happy that I came back and they made a new one straight away. If you are in the neighborhood try to swing by!

Amazing traditional souvlaki spot! You can really taste the quality and history here - they’ve been serving since 1951, and it shows. The meat is juicy and flavorful, the pita is soft, and everything feels authentically Greek. Perfect place for a quick, delicious bite in the city. Definitely one of the best souvlakis around!

It’s an open kitchen, so if you sit inside, you get to see the chefs while making your meal. The taste was amazing, we had 3 different pitas and all of them tasted amazing.🤩 Highly recommended! We’ll go there again before we fly back home because its amazing taste. The service was okay.

One of the best places to taste Greek street food. They do it differently than the traditional Gyros and Souvlak places. The main thing is that their products are really tasteful. I had the pita with Mutton which i have never taste it anywhere this waybin Greece. It was really good. I am big fan of Mutton meat so I definitely recommend it. The prices are higher than other similar places but you pay the quality and how much tasteful their products are. Don’t miss it if it happens to be around.

After having quite a lot of gyros in Greece, hands down one of the best I’ve had! The pita bread was so fluffy and the meat wasn’t overly salty. Also fits my personal preference of not having fries in the gyros

Hoocut was the first place I ate at when I arrived in Athens and also the last one before leaving! That alone says a lot. Everything was just perfect from the meat and sauces to the bread and service. The staff were super friendly, and the flavors were simply unforgettable. My only regret about Athens is not eating here every single day! Absolutely amazing place 100% recommended.

Ate Gyros for at least a meal a day for my entire trip in Greece. This has the be the best gyros in Athens, might even be Greece. First of all, they don’t put fries in the gyros. It comes as a side. This difference already sets it apart from the other gyros and improves the overall flavour of the gyros without the greasiness from the fries Secondly, it’s has an excellent meat, vegetable and sauce ratio. In other places, you would get too little meat, and too much sauce. The cucumbers and onions were fresh and thinly sliced. Every bite comes with a crunch. The meat so juicy and flavourful Lastly, the pita bread. They were roasted fresh on the spot. It’s crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It’s not bread. It’s roti prata without the buttery taste. The gyros is amazingly delicious. Best of all, it’s only 3.7 EUR per gyros and you get a hearty, healthy meal. You know this place is good. When you see crowds outside a little shop in a dingy neighbourhood. This is a takeaway shop

Probably the best local meal I’ve had in Athens. You’re seated, served your order, then they bring you the bill when asked and don’t even ask for a tip (likely the few restaurants in tourist areas that don’t). Highly recommend visiting and enjoying the food.

This was our very first meal in Athens during the heat wave, and my son couldn’t have picked a better spot. It’s in the busy area by Monastiraki Square, but the service is super fast. The yogurt kebab was juicy and packed with flavor, and the Greek salad tasted so fresh. Portions are generous, the beer was ice-cold, and the lively vibe made the crazy heat much easier to handle. Such a great start to our trip. Highly recommend!

The yogourtlou kebab was actually the yummiest thing I’ve ever eaten. The meat was so tender, the sauce was so flavourful, the pita was so soft and buttery and soaked up all the flavours! This is the oldest restaurant in Athens, founded back in 1948 — such a charming piece of history! 🇬🇷✨ We ordered the yoghurt kebab, which tasted quite good, though the portion was so big that we got a little tired of the flavor halfway through. We also tried the grilled mozzarella, which tasted exactly as you’d expect — warm, cheesy, and comforting. If you’re visiting Athens and want to experience some authentic Greek cuisine in a traditional setting, this place is definitely worth a visit. 🍽️💙

Best kebab pita of my trip. Bit of a wait (maybe 10-15 minutes), but the line moves quickly, and the meal is well worth the wait. They have some outdoor seating, which was filled when I was there, but the restaurant is located in a square with many seating spaces.

Hands down, best gyro spot in Athens. For being in the dead city center, its prices are impressively cheap and its food is very delicious. The founder has been there for several decades and he was there when we went. We just asked him to make us something he recommended and thought we would like. He made us a beef gyro with a tomato sauce that I haven’t tried anywhere else. The beer is also $1.50 and well worth it. During lunch and dinner time, there will definitely be a line. The food comes out very fast.

It was really good so it does live up to the hype I would say by the lineup and wait gets pretty lengthy at times which is unfortunate. Food is fresh and the prices are fair so if you have the patience to wait or if you ever pass by and there’s no line I’d definitely recommend to give it a try.

I honestly don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. We sat down, waited, and no one brought us a menu. Eventually, we had to get up and grab it ourselves. Then a staff member came to our table and spoke to us in an incredibly rude and impatient manner, as if we were bothering him just by being there. He answered our questions with visible annoyance and brought the food and water by practically slamming them on the table. Even if the food is decent, service like this completely ruins the experience. Hospitality is about more than just food — it’s about treating people with respect. This restaurant failed at that on every level. If I hadn’t been starving late at night, I would’ve walked out. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. A place with this kind of attitude doesn’t deserve the praise it gets.

Found this place through an article in a magazine, about the best kebab places in Athens. The shop is very old but original. Reminded me of the kebab shops of the 70’s. The kebab preparing area though is refurbished. I tried the original kebab and I was impressed. Smooth flavor, not heavy or very spicy, with good balance of salt and fat. This is not the place that you will visit to stay for dinner, since there are only 3 tables. But I highly recommend it for take away, if your appetite needs a good and original kebab.

This was right by where we stayed and we could always rely on it for good food. The guys working there were always kind even when it was super busy. We liked the pork kontosouvli the best and would recommend it. The gyro was also good and priced well.

There are so many vegan places in Athens and it was real hornet's nest to choose something during a short trip, but I hit the jackpot! We had Rainbow supreme souvlaki and cookoomela bacon n' cheese burger, both were amazing 😍 and the prices are very reasonable. Lovely vegan souvlaki place in Exarchia. The owner is very kind. Serving sizes are giant and I can eat a lot :) I also really liked the organic white wine they serve. If you are into vegan food and in Athens, you should put it on your list.

Worth of trying the food here. You can have a typical famous gyros, but instead of meat, with mushrooms inside. The mushrooms, mushy but also crunchy making them a great substitute of meat. Also the vegan sauces are really good here.

We went there for dinner and were told they had sold out of their pork gyros. The waiter explained that they usually run out by 1 p.m., so of course, we had to come back to see what all the fuss was about. Sure enough, around noon, there was a long line of people waiting to get in and taste the famous gyros. I have to say, the place has done an excellent job of making their gyros even more desirable by simply not making enough of it. The gyros tastes good—but not “stand-in-line” good.

When I tell you this was the best flatbread sandwich of my life, I don’t say it lightly. As we later learned from the sweetest, most attentive owner himself, every single ingredient is fresh and of the highest quality — and my god, it shows. The fluffy, textured, perfectly chewy dough envelops the most succulent, smoked, and beautifully roasted meat, drizzled with the freshest, tangy, zesty yogurt sauce, and perfectly complemented by slices of tomato that burst into the yogurt as you bite into your wrap. I ordered mine without fries inside (which, in my opinion, have no place in wraps) and highly recommend you do the same. Instead, do yourself a favor and order their French fries on the side — I promise, they’ll be some of the most delicious fries you’ve ever had. The second I bit into my wrap, I announced I was coming back here. It’s that good. We came to try the gyros, but they were sold out by the end of the day, so I ordered the chicken souvlaki instead. I’m heading back today, earlier, to finally try the gyro. To top it all off, we finished the meal with yogurt and fig jam made by Mr. George’s mom — come on! You just can’t beat that. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of my trip to Athens.

The must try restaurant for Greek food, the best watermelon salad in town, we came back again for it! And gyros, souvlaki, the fried feta, yogurt, everything is very yummy! The owner is very nice and you can tell he is a food lover! And today, we went back for the yogurt for dessert only, we were so embarrassed that it was too little to have a table, but when we ask for a bill, they told us it was on the house, such a nice and kind place!

Absolutely amazing! It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, amazing chicken skewers with veggies, fava beans and hummus with pita! It was so so reasonably priced too, we paid 35 euro for a meal for two with mains, sides, drinks and alcohol.

Nourishing salads, plenty of thoughtful and creative and delicious options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike! The atmosphere was perfect for long and enjoyable conversations with friends over beers, and the staff was attentive, friendly, and engaging! This restaurant was a mainstay for our trip and we will most certainly be returning when we return to Greece!

This place is amazing. We were visiting Athens and staying across the street. The first time we ate here was out of convenience. The second time was because we could not stop thinking about the delicious food. Seriously, the best tzatziki ever.

Greek salad is good, but the rest of food was tasteless. Besides, they charge for the bottle of water we even didn't ask while in most places around Athens they give a bottle free of charge as a compliment. The place is quite expensive and if you want good quality greek food, this is not a place to visit.

Terrible experience! We ordered a salad, two skewers, and an eggplant dish. We waited for 45 minutes, but our food never arrived — even though people who came after us were already eating. There are some good restaurants in Athens. This is not one of them. You are greeted by a very dominant waitress telling you what you have to do. Once we got some food the gyros was luke warm. When we told the waitress we were told "it's all the same". We had to insist and they warmed it up, but when they brought it back the waitress sarcastically said "warm gyros". Now to my order. I ordered a tsatsiki as a starter and chicken thighs as a main. These are advertised as 500 gram. Well, the tsatsiki was not served and half of the chicken thighs were bone (see picture). When I confronted the waitress about my missing tsatsiki she said I got potatoes with my mains. In the end I got the tsatsiki, which was very average. Conclusion: there are other places in Athens where you are valued as a customer and the staff is helpful instead of being condescending. And where food is better.

there is a reason i dislike cities. the only dish that id recommend as worth it for the price and how it tastes was the beat salad. everything else was a bit mid, and served luke warm, the crispyness had become soft on aome of the fried food we had gotten as well. this is worth it if you need to eat in a pinch, but im sure there is a better option out there.

I recently dined at Best Taste and let me tell you, they weren't kidding about the name! The food was delicious and left my taste buds doing the cha-cha slide. But the portion sizes? Oh my goodness, they were bigger than Mount Olympus itself! I think I could've fed a small village with just one plate. The prices were unrealistically low, which made me wonder if I was actually in Athens or if I accidentally stepped into some sort of culinary Wonderland. If you're on a budget, this is the spot for you. You'll leave with a full stomach and a full wallet. The only downside was the slow service. But hey, I guess that's what happens when you're serving up gigantic portions that could feed a small army. Overall, I highly recommend Best Taste if you're looking for a tasty meal and a bargain. Just make sure you have a big appetite and a lot of patience for the slow service.

Note for Canadians: if you can’t speak Greek, they make fun of you to your face and still act like they’re your best friend. Ordered a cheeseburger, medium done. Came back well done. For the atmosphere, I didn’t sit down to eat, but if their servers are like their cashiers and kitchen staff, you’ll feel unwelcome.

We had one of the most delicious, mama-made souvlaki experiences we've ever had in Athens. The pirozhki were also amazing—especially the meat one, while the cheese version was uniquely tasty and had a slightly sweet twist. The lovely lady making them was incredibly kind; she waited for us to finish our first round of souvlaki, then freshly prepared the second batch so we could enjoy them piping hot. That, to me, is impeccable attention to the customer. This is an "eat-on-the-go" spot, so don’t expect tables or chairs—but that only adds to the charm. I’m so glad I had the chance to visit and experience this heartfelt, authentic place in Athens. Definitely one of the best homemade-style souvlaki spots, made with so much love.

Their κεφτές got just same delicious smell like my mom did. I am from Turkey and meatball is a bid deal in my country. Taste is great, smell is great, maybe it's a little restaurant but who cares. In the end it makes you happy.

Amazing souvlaki - one of the best in Athens! Basic ingredients (meat,tomato,onion and red sauce) but all well selected.

The pirozhki is amazing, they make it with 3 different fillings: minced meat, cheese and potato. But make sure to be on time if you want to try them, because the demand for them is huge and some days they can be sold out within a few minutes. The souvlaki is also great and it differs from the regular ones, as it is not served with tzatziki, but with their own unique homemade sauce.

The vegan café has a fantastic selection of breakfast options. I really enjoyed the jackfruit and scrambled tofu wrap, although it was a bit small for the price. The cappuccino was okay, but the fresh grapefruit juice really won me over. The service was very nice. We never felt rushed in spite of people being turned away because no more tables were available. The calamari was the best we’ve eaten in Athens. We ordered the moussaka because we’d read that they received awards for theirs, but we found it a bit dry. The tzikki was excellent! We are planning to return tonight to try other dishes on their menu, just because we felt so welcomed and at home in this setting.

We had a wonderful dinner at To Liondi while visiting Athens. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor especially the grilled octopus and the grouper, which was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Every dish showed care and authenticity, from the warm pita to the traditional moussaka. The atmosphere was lively yet welcoming, and the staff made us feel genuinely appreciated without being overbearing. If you’re looking for a spot near the Acropolis that combines excellent food, friendly service, and a true Greek dining experience, To Liondi is absolutely worth a visit.

It is a great spot for authentic Greek food with a cozy vibe. The tzatziki was super fresh, the calamari perfectly crispy, and the saganaki rich and cheesy. The grilled fish was tender and full of flavor, but the prawns in mushroom cream sauce stole the show, so good. We finished with galaktoboureko with ice cream, both amazing. Overall, delicious food, great portions, and definitely worth a visit if you’re craving real Greek flavors.

All of the restaurant workers were extremely friendly and the food was exceptional. We ordered a catch of the day white grouper along with a fried calamari as an appetizer. Our stomachs were way too full for dessert so we just asked for the bill and the waiter brought us two small portions of cheese cake and 2 lemon shots. The cheesecake was one of the best I’ve ever had and I found the offer to be very thoughtful. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Tourist trap, we came here all the way just for the "best" mousakka in Athens based on Google reviews, apparently even won an award!! The mousakka had hardly any meat and was under-seasoned. The waiters are super nice though and prices are steep. If you're looking for the best mousakka, this is definitely not the place!

We really enjoyed this restaurant -- I'm a huge fan of traditional Greek food and my friend enjoyed trying the mezze dishes. Dolmadakia were delicious, with a nice taste of pomegranate. Mushrooms too were very tasty. The gyros plate is huge! It was to our chagrin that we didn't have enough room to put all that away, but immense value for money. Staff are very friendly and amenable.

I had a great overall experience at this cozy spot in Greece. I started with a Greek coffee, which was really good—rich, strong, and m reminded me of Egyptian or Turkish coffee. For starters, I had the fried cheese bites. Most of them were delicious, crispy on the outside with gooey cheese inside, but one was still partially frozen in the center and a few had a slightly bitter, undercooked doughy taste. For my main, I went with the pork gyro platter, which came with pita and potatoes. The pork was flavorful but a bit dry and not hot enough. I found myself wanting a bit more pita to go with it. The white dipping sauce on the side was creamy and flavorful, a perfect match for the meat, definitely the highlight of the plate. The service was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating throughout the meal, which really added to the experience. At the end, they brought out a free dessert—a soft, fragrant orange cake with cinnamon that was absolutely amazing and easily my favorite part of the meal. That said, the restaurant does strike me as being geared more toward tourists, likely due to its location and a menu that is partly ready-made or pre-frozen. While that doesn’t take away from the overall enjoyment, it’s something to keep in mind. I’m giving it four stars because while the food and service were very enjoyable, there were a couple of small execution issues. Still, I’d happily return for the coffee and cake.

I loved this place, even on a hot day the garden was cool and covered in shade from the vines growing overhead. Fairy lights and stone walls added to a great atmosphere. And the food... it was very tasty and fresh. Squid was exquisite: fresh, soft and only dusted in flour as opposed to heavy battered oily and rubbery thing you find in some places. And you get the whole plate of just squid and lemon, no silly plate fillers.

I had some lunch here today and loved the Musakhan and chicken salad. The musakhan was delicious with little taste of cinnamon and I just loved it! The service was fast and attentive. My husband loved the complimentary desert - some traditional cakes very much. Loved the lights and vibes on the ceiling thus would love to come back here for dinner again.

Started out with the halloumi, which was great. Also got the zucchini, which was soggy. Would not recommend. For our main course we got the chicken souvlaki which was nice and juicy with a good flavor. We also got Moussaka, which I would not recommend. The dessert was complimentary, and it was good. It tasted like some kind of orange breaded dessert. I liked it. Overall not a bad place to grab some food, if you’re in the area.

The food was really tasty and the atmosphere was nice and cozy. We ordered a lot of meat and a Greek salad — the portions were huge! The meat platter was definitely enough for four people, and we even took some home. The staff was friendly, but at the beginning it took quite a while before we were seated, which was a bit confusing. The food is so amazing here we went to eat two days in a row and we stuffed or face so fast I only took one picture 😂. They have a complimentary bread and olive paste for starters and amazing portocalopita desert. The waiters are very attentive and the place is almost always full. You must try this place!

A typical restaurant for tourists in the heart of the city at the foot of the Acropolis. The portions are very generous so you can eat well, but the fact is that the food could be much better. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the biggest drawback is the crowded tables in the outdoor part of the restaurant.

We’ve been to Smile a few times now and it never disappoints. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming. It’s great watching the chefs cook right in front of you—it adds to the whole experience. The food is fresh, tasty, and great value. They also do excellent espressos—strong and authentically Greek. Highly recommend!

We had a couple of hours to kill before we could check into our Air B&B and our taxi driver recommended we come here. He is friends with the incredible family that owns and operates Smile. They allowed us to store our luggage here and we had the most incredible lunch. We loved it so much, we came back for dinner! The Greek salad is the best thing on the menu! I can not recommend this place enough!

We had an amazing dining experience at Smile! From the moment we arrived, Zoe’s warm hospitality truly gave us a smile. She made us feel so welcome and at home. Chef Alex clearly puts his heart into every dish: our bruschetta starter was a piece of art, the moussaka a taste bomb, the pasta felt like heaven on earth, and I was honestly speechless with my gyros. Absolutely amazing food! Hands down the best bruschetta I’ve ever had, and the crispy moussaka was not only delicious but also such a unique twist on a classic dish. The chocolate loukoumades were the perfect sweet ending. The service was truly the best experience I’ve had in Athens -warm, attentive, and so genuine. I also loved hearing the story behind the restaurant and meeting the lovely siblings who started it. Their hospitality made the whole experience even more special. Can’t recommend this place enough!

After our first visit a couple of years ago, we knew we had to come back when we were visiting Athens again. Zoey and her family are amazing and make you feel at home as soon as you enter. The food is also amazing. They make traditional Greek dishes but with flair. During this visit, we had bread, salad, shrimp saganaki, crunchy Moussaka, homemade baklava ice cream, and a piece of baklava. It was all delicious. We'll be back the next time we're in Athens.

Marco and his wife are very very kind. This is a very small intimate place. You are made to feel like family with Greek hospitality. On a hot summer day Marco was kind and generous and gave me a water bottle after my meal. Also given a sweet little dessert for free. I had the calamari and the taramasalata which was very nice. Very nice experience.

After our meal 36€ for four adults, he brought us health shots and a dessert snack and cold bottles of water for our walk back to our hotel. Stopped at the baklava candy shop & bodega next door. Small and authentic restaurant. You can easily miss it if you don’t seek it out. It was full but the owner quickly found a table for us. The food is fresh and sooooooooo tasty. The service is outstanding and the price is so fair. One of those hidden gems in Athens, don’t listen to the Nicks of the world. This place is great!

Best restaurant in Athens, Marco is a sweetheart he does everything cooks cleans serves with the most attention to detail. If you can’t tell the picture are from two different days. It was so good we had to change our plans and go back for a second meal. This is a low maintenance spot that will have to cancelling your fancy dinner reservations with out hesitation.

From the outside, this place might not catch your eye. In fact, if you weren’t looking for it, you might just walk right past it. But let me tell you — this is a classic case of don’t judge a book by its cover. The moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed like family. The owners were incredibly friendly and genuinely warm — the kind of hospitality that immediately puts you at ease. They offered us bottles of water to bring with us as we leave and even surprised us with a complimentary dessert at the end of our meal, which was a sweet and thoughtful touch. Now onto the food — absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and clearly made with care. You could taste the passion behind every bite. It’s the kind of cooking that makes you want to come back the next day just to try something new on the menu.

The restaurant sits next to a Vietnamese spot. The seating is outside only but you can order take away as well. The mushroom gyro doesn't compromise the authentic Greek flavors although they use vegetables it's flavorful and cooked well. The slaw gives it nice texture and I also had the cauliflower so I added some of those pieces to my wrap ! Great add should be on the menu. 🤌🏽 We also tried the kombucha and lemonade both were well balanced if you like those sorts of drinks we really enjoyed them!. The atmosphere is great minus being off a busy road but you get used to it. Dessert looked amazing I'll be back tomorrow to try! Hospitality was great and welcoming! I'll always visit when in Athens!

We had a very enjoyable lunch at Vegan Beat. The young girl serving us was quick to serve us. We especially the cauliflower burger in the pretzel bun. We have never had a pretzel bun before, and it was delicious, so fresh!! The mushroom gyros was tasty as well. Although, it wasn’t the best vegan gyros I had in Athens. There was slightly too much salad compared to mushroom filling in my opinion. We will definitely be back when visiting Athens.

A MUST visit!! We visited this place twice and we shared various options! Delicious pastitsio, soy mince patties, tsimitsuri burger, AND musakas. Delicious yummy sauces, very generous portions and such friendly staff. my favorite was the soy mince patties, high protein and so delicious! Definitely one of the best vegan spots in Athens. Away from the big crowds as well so not so much noise. 🥰🌱

The food quality and taste are amazingly good, but the service is equally poor. During the three days I was there, I came twice, and both times when they brought the water, they didn't bring glasses. Or sometimes, they seemed to forget to bring the knife and fork. However, the food tastes so great that you end up forgetting about the poor service

Nice place to have food in the center. We tried the Gyros and it was really good. We also order falafel with hummus and was okey, not the best that I ever tried but okey. Nothing to complain! The service was okey but the price maybe too high.

Although is in a very busy and tourist point, service was quite fast. We were in a group of 6 ppl, had a table in the rooftop with a view to Acropolis. Food very taste , good portion and price.

The rooftop views are amazing, they don’t serve gyros at the roof level, they only serve them on the ground floor. The gyros were not up to our expectation, but the other main dishes looked really delicious. We’ll definitely visit again & order something other than gyros. For the gyros; the pita bread was really thick & the chicken quality was not the best, but the sauce was not bad 👍🏼 Enjoy the views, the main dishes & avoid the gyros 😅🙏🏼

This place is above average and good for a quick bite when you’re on the go. I’ll usually stop here for a quick Gyro or Donair and generally it’s pretty good overall and the prices are fair as well.

A really nice restaurant that I have visited a couple of times. Staff is very friendly and accomodating and service is fast. The atmosphere is nice be it inside during winter or on the small backyard during summer. They have a varied menu with Greek tastes for meat,fish,vegetarians and they are all superb. Their home-made bread is something that stands out on its own. Prices are ok, do not expect something cheap but nothing overpriced as well, you pay for the quality.

We showed up on the night before they were closing for a 2 week holiday. We didn't have many choices but chose the greek salad, chicken schnitzel and mixed grill. It was so delicious! The service was so kind. When they found out it was my husband's birthday, the brought a candle and spice cake - so nice and delicious.

This was a great location from Hotel Zafolia, a quick 5min walk. A hotel staff member suggest on our first day in Athens. It has a very open feel and was nice to be able to see outside while enjoying dinner and drinks. We ordered the appetizers for two- which was a meal on its own. It had two of everything- Saganaki cheese (2), meat balls (2), pork chops (2), sausages (2), lots of fries, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and olives! I ordered the grilled bass which had great flavor and came with potatoes and boiled veggies. My husband ordered a chicken special that said came with some type of pasta however I think they misunderstood what he wanted and he got chicken kabob with a baked potato. The chicken had amazing flavor and was very tender and juicy. The potato had a bit to much sour cream on it. We were finished the waited brought us each a piece of orange cake. It was very moist with an interesting mouth feel and taste. The prices here are very reasonable and affordable. Overall, we would go again!

Chose this spot for my first Gyro in Pita in Greece and it didn’t disappoint. We were walking back to our Airbnb after a long walking tour and decided to grab a takeaway. The menu was surprisingly extensive, but everything was explained so clearly that ordering was a breeze. Our food was ready in about 10 minutes, packed perfectly with no spills. The first bite was divine, loved the contrast of fresh tomato and lettuce with the salty chips and juicy chicken. The pita itself was thick, soft and fluffy, just the way it should be. Definitely going back for more.

Cool atmosphere. Mostly outdoor seating, a few tables inside. We were checking out the menu board outside and a super nice hostess brought us some paper menus in English. The food options were plentiful. The chicken pita wrap was a great value and delicious. The beef and chicken skewers were also a table favorite. The negative about our experience was that we had to wait over half an hour for our food while others seemingly got their food within probably 10 minutes of placing their orders. We did not order anything extravagant or complicated. Aside from the wait, the food, prices and atmosphere were good!

Since 2018, I’ve been to Athens five times, and every time I come here to eat. Everything was always great, but this time I was disappointed. The gyros was very dry and lacked flavor.

Best place for the signature kebab yoghurt in Athens. Must try One portion is probably enough for a couple as two was too much for us. Live music and friendly staff as well. Will certainly go back Update: We just tried the dolmades as well. Best we’ve ever had. Totally recommend it! Will go back to try other dishes as well. I’m starting to believe this being the best restaurant in town to be honest 😁

The best Greek food I have ever had. I will come few more times before I return home. We finally had 4 dinners in total during the week.

We were deciding between a few places and ended up choosing this one. We stopped by during the day to make a reservation. The staff member didn’t take our name or phone number, just told us we could sit at the table we picked. When we arrived in the evening, that table had been merged with a large group of about 10 people. They offered us a table right next to the live orchestra — I guess they wanted us to lose our hearing 😅 Thankfully, we eventually found a more suitable spot and sat down. As for the food, we had zucchini, calamari, Greek salad, saganaki, two 20cl ouzos, and pita (which most places serve for free, but here it was charged). We paid €40. The food was tasty, but nothing to rave about. The person who helped us later on was very attentive and professional, which we appreciated. Still, the dishes could have been more refined. And I have to say it — Turkish calamari beats Greek kalamaraki any day 😉

This restaurant offered an authentic Greek menu with many items on the menu looking really good. Their meat is a bit fatty (you might like it you might not). Prices are great for the portion. The service is very fast too.

This place is terrible. Do not eat here! I should’ve known it was gonna be really bad when they served us saran wrapped bread at the table that was stale and hard. My husband and I both ordered a dish. Mine was slightly burned and flavorless as you can see in the first picture, but it was still edible. My husband ordered a regular kebab. We’ve had these about 20 times in Greece and assumed it was a safe dish. I’ve also included a picture so you can see what it looks like on the menu. What he got was the nastiest kebab Drenched in a yellow mustard sauce. He took two bites to try to taste it and eat it and literally couldn’t so we asked to return the dish and get a refund explaining that it wasn’t edible and it didn’t look like what was presented on the menu and what were used to ordering. Suddenly, it’s like they didn’t understand what we were saying in English. Mind you, ordering the dishes and requesting water and all of that was perfectly understood in English, but when we asked to refund us for one of the dishes, suddenly they didn’t understand what we were saying. Luckily Google translate helped with that. They then claim they couldn’t refund us for the dish because my husband ate it. He literally took two bites. Then when we tried to leave, they wouldn’t let us pay until we said it was all ok. DO NOT EAT HERE- The food is bad, but the customer service and the way they conduct their business is even worse.

Amazing gyros and for a really good price too! €3.90 for a very hefty pork gyro. And the greek salad was really nice also. The olives inside were particularly good some of the best we had on our whole holiday.

Delicious & cheap food! Came here to eat twice while visiting Athens. Prices are really reasonable, service is friendly and very quick, indoor (AC) & outdoor seating and big variety - including proper vegetarian options (more than fried vegetables). For this big meal (3 chicken tender souvlaki, fresh salad, plate of tzatziki, bread & a Coke Zero) I paid 16€ total.

The nearby bookstore staff recommended this place to us. Freshly made food with a good price! The service was very efficient but a bit cold-faced.

We got some takeout for lunch when visiting Athens. When we arrived we met a local woman in like that helped us with choosing correctly and explained what this place was famous for. Many thanks to her because this was probably the best meal on our trip.

Their pork gyro is one of my heaven foods. The salads are outstanding. Spicy cheese spread is delicious with pita. Unpretentious with good, fast service. Great prices. I’ve eaten there almost every day since I’ve found it (would have been everyday, but they are closed on Sundays).

Walked around and suddenly saw a place which is not tourist oriented. Looks like locals oriented. Decided to try it out. Best in the current Athens visit. Will come tomorrow to try the Gyro.

Dry chicken skewers were a disappointment. Also, the fact that fries were not offered with it like at all other places, just a couple pieces of flimsy bread. Relatively lacking in taste and insufficient portions. Least satisfying souvlaki place among the dozen places I tried. On the bright side, the people were friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful chicken gyros with crunchy delicious seasoned fries. The place looks like a tourist trap but it definitely is NOT. The service is fast and the food is really delicious. The staff are nice and helpful even though the place was steaming from the hot weather which will make anyone grumpy.

There was a long line, but it went quickly. The cashier had what appeared to be a meltdown and walked away from the cash register, which slowed everything down. But once we got the food, it was surprisingly good, but the chicken was a little dry. Definitely good value for the cost, however

This location is right around the corner from the Acropolis museum on the walkway strip. The food here is consistently delicious full of flavour and the portions are just right. They have been serving the public for many years and know exactly how to marinate and serve their food properly. I do visit this spot every time I go through Athens and would highly recommend if your from the city or just visiting. The pictures to not do any justice just go and try it and thank me later. We landed in Greece, came right to our hotel and checked in. As we were out exploring we spotted Gyros Pou Gyrevis. There was a large crowd, so we decided to try it. We followed the protocol, placed and paid for our food. While that was being done one of the group was able to get a table (we were lucky!). The gyros and salad were fantastic! Just like we remembered them from the last time we were in Greece. The service was good. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Under €4 euros for a gyro when places on the street next door charge you €18. Can’t beat that quick, filling and tasted good. Perfect for a quick pit stop to refuel. Especially before or after an acropolis visit.

We bought two pita gyro (one chicken and one pork) at 2pm. There was a resonable long queue at the cashier so I waited outside for a table to be free while my partner ordered the food. We were lucky to get a table but many customers had to either eat their food standing or go another place. It costed 3.8€ for a pita gyro. It's cheap but you don't get much food and we were still hungry afterwards. In addition, it didn't taste that good as expected. We had tried better ones before.

This is for me personally the best place for a Gyro in Athens city center! The meat is always fresh, and whatever you choose (chicken or pork gyro) you will not ma a mistake! Every time I come to Athens I go there to eat a gyro 🇷🇸🇬🇷

Had the rib eye sandwich which was very good, if a little over done but I like my steak almost blue. In fact they did not ask how I would like it. The sauce and the youghurt and cherry tomatoes also good. Good service too.

Excellent M3 burger. They had a great Quinoa salad as well. High quality food for reasonable prices so great value for money. Nice to sit outside, but inside was comfortable as well. Staff were friendly and accomodating.

We waited quite a lot and it was hot so that takes away from the experience but otherwise the kebab we ate was great, the pita was really soft and well seasoned and it had a lot of fresh vegetables, in our opinion it could have used some more meat but for 5€ it was more than we asked for. A lot of local people seem to enjoy their food too so there were constant orders flying in. The staff was friendly and they spoke enough English to handle orders.

We had such a great experience at Giorgios Manos! The pita was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and not expensive at all. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and the atmosphere of the place made it a really enjoyable stop. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

This place is a “psitotaverna,” meaning a fast-food style restaurant specializing in grilled meats and chicken, and I should say that upfront. We visited twice, once in June and once in August. First of all, everything is prepared right in front of you. It’s clean, fast, and delicious. One word of caution: if you order a portion, keep in mind that the servings are quite large. By the way, their classic kalamaki-pita wraps are also quite filling.

I loved this place. I don't know what people are complaining about. I was amazed with the effectiveness of everyone at this place. 9 people behind the counter and 4 waiters. And no lazy people hanging around like in many other places. And the food... to die for. We had a Greek salad, chicken skewers, french fries, Greek bread and tzatziki, a simple meal but oh so tasty. The chicken melted in my mouth, it was tender and not greasy at all. Try this place to make your own opinion, it really is worth it. It is not gourmet but it's honest great clean food.

Every year I visit Greece and I have tried the souvlakis all over the place and this one is maybe the best. The taste is classic. Now you can complain all you want about the price/service or other stuff but when it comes to souvlaki wrapped up you can't get better than this. I discovered this place last year and I was hesitant to try based on the reviews but the reality was that it tastes amazing. I went back this year and indeed it was as good. So to the owner, please keep up the good work and don't change anything in the recipe.
