Cocktail bar
Nestled in the heart of Athens, The Clumsies is a renowned cocktail bar that has garnered international acclaim for its exceptional spirits and warm ambiance. Housed in a beautifully restored neo-classical building, this multi-room bar offers an all-day dining experience with breakfast, lunch, dinner menus, and an impressive selection of premium cocktails.
One can very quickly see why this location is one of the best bars in the world, hands down. I asked the bar tender to help choose drinks for me based on my preferred flavor profile and boy were each drink amazing. We had only planned on stopping in for a single drink and ended up sampling three. The only reason we left was due to dinner plans on the other side of Plaka. This location truly is unique and special and should not be missed.

AMAZING! Really reaches the expectations, has a great ambiance, the staff is great and mostly the drinks were amazing. We ended up trying 3 and they were all great. We weren’t going to eat, but we ended up trying the corn balls and WOW!!!! So tender and delicious. Highly recommend the bar.
Luciana W — Google review
Absolutely loved the drinks here. By far my favorite cocktails I ordered in my time here in Greece. They are unique and have so much flavor. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in Athens.
Shannon O — Google review
One of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to. Nice atmosphere, very kind staff that don’t mind sharing their knowledge and explaining the drinks and most importantly: amazing drinks. They have a great selection of classic cocktails, but also a lot of very weird mixes that somehow work so so well. Will be returning to this one, for sure!
E — Google review
Such a great cocktail bar! The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel truly welcome from the moment you arrive. The cocktails are fantastic creative, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The Metaxa Angel is absolutely brilliant definitely a must-try if you visit! It's the kind of place that's perfect not only for a casual drink with friends but also if you want to explore and try something a bit more special. Highly recommended! 🍸
Marcin B — Google review
It was definitely one of the best bars I have ever been in. Amazing staff that knows their stuff, incredible selection of very tasty cocktails. Loved it, went there 2 times in 3 days. Tried multiple different cocktails, loved hippocampus and the one with bergamot and pine. Also the complimentary nuts were very tasty. They definitely know their stuff.
Noyan Y — Google review
A few days before our trip to Athens I read that The Clumsies was named one of the best cocktail bars in the world. I was very excited to see it was only a few minutes walk from our hotel. The bar is very quaint with fun decor and comfortable seating. We ordered the cocktail flight to share and I got the terra cotta cocktail (sorry, don't recall the actual name) and my wife had the Mediterranean Gimlet which she said was delicious and tastes like a Greek salad. Definitely a must for any travelers that love unique cocktails in a fun setting.
Jay H — Google review
I come to Athens every year and I finally made it to Clumsies. I had the highly awarded Aegean Negroni which was nice. The prices are great considering the award it has achieved as one of the highest rated bars in the world for 2025. For me a place that you come once and then try the many other boutique bars in and around Athens - hundreds of them. Ps not sure why the complimentary peanuts were half full ? Left over from a previous order or they find that’s all you really need? It kinda stood out

Six D.O.G.S is a versatile cultural hub that offers live music, DJ sets, art exhibitions, and club nights alongside a cozy cafe and bar. Since its establishment in 2009, it has garnered a dedicated following. The venue hosts an array of events including Greek rap gigs, techno DJ sets, art openings, and record launches. Its laid-back atmosphere and do-it-yourself aesthetic make it an integral part of Athens' nightlife.
At first glance, the front entrance made us think the bar was closed. We hesitated, but then noticed people heading down into the bar, so we followed—and we’re glad we did! It turned out to be very lively, likely due to the weekend crowd. The entrance gave off a cool speakeasy vibe, which added to the experience. Once inside, we found it quite cozy, making it a perfect spot for a couple of local beers.
Agnes O — Google review
Excellent bar-restaurant in a large yard. Great cocktails and very tasty Asian food! Good atmosphere, good music. They also have a club but it was a closed evening so we didn't go in, although it was recommended.
Mirit B — Google review
Very large outdoor space, shaded. Was hard to get service sitting inside in a booth. Good food and excellent coffee. They have decaf coffee and almond milk. Order a Greek mountain tea. The chicken tenders were huge and very delicious.
Jane N — Google review
Great place. Food is mostly Asian fusion. Good portions which taste good. Really good atmosphere, music & unique lay out. Better cocktails can be found elsewhere. Nevertheless a must visit place if you’re in Athens.
Bhavin N — Google review
Absolutely amazing. I love that it is focused on sustainability, the interior is lovely, the little courtyard adorable. Everything we ate was good, the burger, wrap, smoothie was amazing, coffee surprisingly not so great but maybe that's just me. The staff was nice. Loved the place and coming back for sure.
Tina K — Google review
Not the beeest place to come if you’re a tourist looking for authentic Greek food, but they make killer cocktails, the ambiance is amazing, and the food is great (just not suuuper Greek lol). We had the Dog, the artichoke salad, and a green smoothie and everything was very tasty. The wait staff was also very responsive and friendly.
Ceci J — Google review
Great place to have your coffee or lunch. There is a garden at the back with trees which makes the experience a nice quiet break, given that you are at the busiest part of Athens. This time I had lunch as well; their cuisine has a middle eastern touch so expect a plethora of spices, which might put of someone who just wants to eat chips with mayo ( my friend's teenage kid). I tried the burger and it was super delicious a bit on the spicy side. Service is a bit slow when you sit down and wish to order (no eye contact and depends on the level of professionalism of the waitress). It is also a super trendy night club with loads of live DJ acts but I personally consider it as my favourite coffee break place when downtown.
Eva T — Google review
A small, down-at-heel approach to the bar masks a trendy but relaxing bar with a huge outdoor shady garden perfect for winding away an afternoon or night. Great, chilled beats in the evening with everyone chatting and everyone having a great time and zero judgement or hassles. By the time night comes it turns into a Peter Pan-esque garden, somewhere you’d want to stay all night. Cocktails were cool and not overly expensive and the food surprisingly good.

Couleur Locale is a vibrant rooftop bistro and bar located in Athens, offering stunning views of the Acropolis, Parthenon, and other famous landmarks. Situated near Monastiraki Square, this hidden gem provides a more local and less touristy atmosphere compared to other rooftops in the area. With a young and trendy clientele, it boasts a relaxed ambiance, delicious cocktails, and live jazz, soul, and rock'n'roll music.
We went for brunch - on the rooftop. There's not enough servers, but they work hard. The food was excellent, much better than many rooftop places in the center. Really creative dishes. They also have smoothies and coffees and cocktails. And great acropolis views!
Kimmy K — Google review
Good rooftop bar in the center of Athens. The Acropolis views are spectacular. The food took a bit long to arrive and was nothing special, but the prices are very fair. For a drink this is definitely the place to go!
Joost N — Google review
This is the place where you can comfortably watch the Acropolis. It has a large terrace, and the prices and offerings are average for Athens. The service may be a little slow, but they leave you feeling quite comfortable. Order your drink and enjoy the atmosphere
Erdem E — Google review
Great rooftop bar with a view of the Acropolis, great for drinks and has a good value cheeseboard. Would recommend. Cheeseboard can be gluten free without the bread. Good Bloody Mary.
Sean L — Google review
I’ve been to Couleur Locale a few times 3-4 years ago and was always happy about the food and service, however today’s visit was beyond disappointing. I’ll start with the positives: When we arrived at 10:50 for brunch there was only one big group of around 10 people and us (2 people). At the time there was only one waitress but we were immediately served with water and she took our orders. We received our coffees and juice very fast, all 3 very tasty. The waitress was also very nice and the view on Acropolis was too. That’s where the positives end. We ordered our breakfast (toast with fried eggs - first position on the menu) and waited 50 MINUTES for the food to arrive. The place wasn’t that full and noone can tell me that preparing this easy brunch takes that long. Each ingredient of the food tasted good, however the meal altogether was too heavy, too salty and too oily and we weren’t able to finish it as we already felt sick. I think adding more healthy stuff to the whole meal would balance it more. After that we had to wait another 20mins for waitress to notice us wanting to pay. Unfortunately we spent more than 1.5h in that place which to me is too much if most of the time is waiting We definitely won’t be back again
Lesia D — Google review
Beautiful view! 😍 I only ordered a Prosecco and they totally forgot about me, so definitely some improvement needed. Wasn’t busy at all, so no clue how that happened. That said, worthy place to grab a quick drink and stare at the acropolis! 🥂
M E — Google review
You have to know about this place to find it and yet somehow a lot of people know it! The view of the Acropolis is amazing! The atmosphere is wonderful and although we just had drinks and a cheese platter, it was excellent! The prices are quite reasonable and the view is incredible wherever you sit! Definitely going back!
Jenny C — Google review
Stunning views of the Parthenon. Great dj and friendly staff. Amazing craft cocktails. The burger was tasty but a little messy. The club sandwich was the star for both my husband and I. The fries were crispy. We cleared our plates. The service was a bit slow but it was close to sunset and the place was overwhelmed.

Cocktail bar
Bar
Baba au Rum is a renowned cocktail bar located in Athens, known for its inventive and diverse drink selection. The bar offers a wide range of traditional and uniquely crafted cocktails, showcasing their passion for mixology. With accolades such as being named one of the 50 best bars in the world, Baba au Rum boasts a charming atmosphere and also sells its own rum for purchase.
Nice bar! The 50BestBar 2024 list was not wrong. Amazing drinks and atmosphere. Service lacks a bit of attentiveness but is hard to have it all. Its rum’s list is extensively amazing but we were there for the cocktails that do not defraud. No food in the bar but seems to be that they own the property across the street and you may have it… I went for the drinks and got more than enough. Although we spent more than 60€ per person we had several drinks each of us. And the unitary price is fair and you get great quality for your money.
Alse R — Google review
Athens might have a few “top 50” bars but this definitely meets the expectations. Great cocktails met with tasteful music (can’t say for all the other bars). Would recommend Devils Milk, one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Had mixture of 3 cocktails for €30, can’t complain
Charlie T — Google review
Summary: inconsistent quality of cocktails & bad service with attitude. No need to come here for rum cocktails if you’re from the US or Latin America. Edit: read the reply by the owner down below. This shows you what type of business this is and how nonchalant they are - threatening customers for honest reviews. I’m attaching video and photo taken from last night to prove I was there. I have taken proof of the threat and reserve any further rights. Went here because of the Top 50 ranking. The bar is cute and has a throwback vibe with a live DJ. The experience turned south quickly when I got my first highball which was flat, as I observed the bartender use an opened bottle of sparkling water. Who knows how long it’d been sitting there, and for €12 I’d expect a good drink. From there, the waitress in all blue denim outfit took my drink AND my water before I had finished. She was so busy hanging out with her coworkers and drinking behind the bar, I doubt she was fully functional. She was also rude when I told her about my drink, and said she was only responsible for cleaning the table. To get my drink back, I’d need to talk to the server or the bartender. The whole thing took about 20 min to resolve as they kept ignoring me and serving their friends at the bar. I had to flag down a poor server, who finally brought me my drink. The last straw was when they brought me a new highball, this time it was completely flat and so strong with the whiskey that it wasn’t really a cocktail at all.
Skip F — Google review
The cocktails were really good! I had the glass of tears and it was one of the best cocktails I tried in Athens. But sadly, due to being understaffed, the service was horrible. The waitress was kinda rude and you had to beg to order or have the check. I don’t blame her as it was packed on a Friday night and she was the only one taking orders.
Noyan Y — Google review
Unfortunately, I only remembered to take a photo after finishing my drink :) Overall, the cocktails were delicious. I tried the Delicious Sour and the Anti Novel Margarita. The Anti Novel Margarita was about 4.5/5 for me, while the Delicious Sour was a solid 4/5—maybe because I had higher expectations for it. The atmosphere and the street were beautiful, the bar itself looks great, and the DJ performance was really nice. Recommended!
Burak K — Google review
The cocktails here are pretty good. I like 2/3 of the cocktails I got and my boyfriend also liked 2/3 he got. I would stick to the rum base cocktails. Most of their cocktails are rum based anyways. We also got snacks as well, they weren’t rememberable but not awful.
Lauren C — Google review
I think this drink was one of the best cocktails I have ever had! That’s why this place is amongst the best bars in the world! It’s a bit hard to find a nice seat but I guess it worth the wait. Whenever I’m in Athens, I will visit Baba au Rum 🥰
Sahra K — Google review
If you are a pyrate, this is the place for you. Greatest rum selection I've ever seen, pretty much covering all South America and more. Went there for some cocktails for our last night in Athens and what a good place to end up! The gents at the bar are just wizards. No surprise the bar is in top 50 bars since 2019 (at least) permanently.

Lohan Athens Nightclub, the brainchild of Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan, stands out as a premier destination in the vibrant Athenian nightlife. This club is renowned for its electrifying atmosphere, featuring an impressive lineup of talented DJs and live performances that keep the energy high throughout the night. With its baroque-inspired decor and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, Lohan offers an unparalleled clubbing experience.
Great club with an amazing atmosphere! The waiters were friendly and provided excellent service. The music was loud and full of energy, creating the perfect vibe for a night out. I had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back!
Kon L — Google review
I attended Lohan last night with my boyfriend, the space and street around the club was very lit up and felt safe and comfortable. We got a VIP table and were told to come after 12, although the club didn’t open until around 1:00, it was worth the wait. The line moved very quickly and the inside was beautiful. Neon lights and screens, amazing sound system, a sofa and a balcony overlooking the crowd. It cost 170 for a premium bottle (Belvedere) but the mixers are NOT INCLUDED. Each red bull cost 5 euros. The service wasn’t the quickest but I can’t complain either, the servers were very polite and attentive, regularly checked in on us and poured our drinks. The music was truly THE BEST I’ve ever heard in any club, a mix of modern and nostalgic international pop, hiphop and house. We danced all night and sang along to every single song. Once in a while, the dancers, both men and women, would come out and give a little show. The vibe was continuously hype throughout the night. The outfits were mixed, from shirts and dresses to t-shirts and sneakers. Felt like everyone could just embrace and enjoy their personal style. There were more men than women and the dance floor seemed pretty crowded. If you can, I definitely recommend getting a table as it’s absolutely worth it.
Nastia B — Google review
Nice nightclub with good music. The sound is great. The prices of the drinks & bottles are expensive. There are no bottles of Ouzo on the menu (very weird)

I had very bad time here, think about going here…. - Bouncers are like gangsters - Songs are not good - Very bad attitude - Even charging 20€ per person entry, they won’t let you in if you won’t buy premium table for 6 - Think about going there - There are better clubs than that - Insensitive staff - Claimed my fiend was out for one hour and he was just put for 15 minutes to smoke - They spoiled our night Feel free to know better options.

Paid $20 cover and got a “free drink” with the cover but that only included a non alcoholic drink. To buy another alcoholic drink they only take cash, which we didn’t have. I wish they stated on their website or something that they only accept cash. Music was great, but vibe was still weird because most people weren’t dancing or drinking. Overall, could’ve been a great time but their bar situation wasn’t the best.
Alisanne B — Google review
The club is very expensive. We had to buy a bottle of champagne for 120 Euros to enter the club and the bouncer was very rude. I do not recommend going to this club.
Ben M — Google review
1 star is too much for this club. you get problems with the security, which has a way too much attitude and male ego for their job. when you get out for 25min to get fresh air because the ac is shit, you’re not getting inside again. even though you show the nice ;) security your receipt, which shows that you paid 20! euros 25min ago. please do the world a favor and avoid this club if you can. if you’re tourist you’re also likely to get scammed for 120€ bottles plus the entry free to get in.

The club was overpack with little place to stand. I had to get a VIP table in order to enjoy the club. You have to pay to get in and pay for parking while there. $10 euro we had to pay to get in. Overall I had a great time. The music was great.. the dancers were great

Heteroclito is a cozy wine bar located in the historical center of Athens, on Mitropoleos square. It offers a wide range of prestigious Greek wines for customers to discover and appreciate. The bar serves well-known, renowned, rare, special, new, different and unique varieties at cellar prices. Recently expanded to create more space for wine lovers, it provides a chill and relaxed atmosphere where people can enjoy a glass of wine while standing in the pedestrian street.
This a hidden gem! The wines you can find there are fantastic! You can find wines from many countries and don't even hope to stay for "just one glass"! The atmosphere and the staff is top notch. Everyone is very welcoming, nice, cheerful, and competent. We stayed 3 days in athens, it was our favorite place to go to. Jotta took good care of us. We ended up buying a couple of bottles to take home. I found a new favorite place, what a wonderful surprise!

Cannot comment on food as we did not eat, but think if we have time on our visit we will try the food. Service was brilliant, wine is exceptional. Relaxing environment to enjoy wine and olives with my husband. ❤️

Step into a charming and welcoming bar, where an extensive and carefully curated selection of wines awaits—from vibrant, aromatic whites to bold, velvety reds and sparkling options. Whether you’re in the mood for a crisp sip or something more adventurous, there’s a bottle to delight your palate. The warm atmosphere and attentive service make it the perfect place to savor each taste and unwind with a glass in hand.

A nice place around the corner to get your drink and chill. Staff was friendly and helped with choosing the wine since they have a variety of that. The food was average, the bread was old. Price range is on a touristy scale. A nice experience.

Great spot for a glass or two of wine - with an extensive wine list with something for everyone. Service was efficient and friendly. If it's a sunny day, grab a table outside - it's the perfect place for some people watching.

A lovely place to have a good wine and enjoy the end of a great day. A must to visit once you are in Athens! Great staff with nice wine recommendations. Always a pleasure if I’m in Athens. 🫶

Fantastic wine bar in Athens, we came back two days in a row because we loved it. We tried both of the Spritz which were great and on our second visit we shared a bottle of wine which was recommended to us, which was delicious. The staff were fantastic on both occasions, super friendly and helpful! Wish I had a wine bar like this near where I live in Australia.

When exploring the vibrant city of Athens, one experience you shouldn't miss is enjoying a drink at one of its stunning rooftop bars. With unobstructed views stretching to the mountains and sea, these venues offer an unforgettable backdrop for sunset cocktails over iconic landmarks like the Acropolis. From trendy spots buzzing with locals to serene poolside retreats, there's a perfect watering hole for everyone. If you're looking for top-notch cocktails, A for Athens stands out as a must-visit bar.
It was my first time ever renting a car in a foreign country and I'll doubt I'll have a better experience anywhere else. The reception was great, everything was clear and simple, the guy working there was extremely polite and helpful, spoke fluent english, showed us around the car, showed all the negligible damage it already had prior to us renting it. The car was a Toyota Corolla that has done around 9k km. The car was clean, had android auto support, everything was great. Price was really good also.
Andrius K — Google review
Have been a long-term customer. Every single time the service is excellent. Everyone is polite and the cars are always in great condition. Once I was running late due to heavy traffic on my way back to Athens and I was allowed to return the car the next morning without any extra charges. Ideally, it would be amazing if prices were not that high during peak seasons or to have a way for different rates for long-term frequent customers. Overall, would recommend 100%.
Xenofon P — Google review
I rented a car here and the process was quick and easy — in about 30 minutes I was on the road. The car itself was good. However, they promised to return my deposit within one month after I returned the car. I gave the car back without any issues, but it has been over two months now and I still haven’t received my deposit. I also contacted their support by phone call and sent emails, but unfortunately, I never got a proper answer or refund. Very disappointing experience.

It was our first time with car rental and definitely a successful and pleasant one. We made a booking on a website with no prepayment which we appreciate. The prices were good, at the place there was a very friendly and helpful staff that explained everything, all the rules were clear. The check in and check out were very fast. We loved the car (it was brand new Citroen C3) and it had all the functionalities such as connecting phone with USB, music and Google maps. We had a great time and very good ride 😁👍🏼
Magda H — Google review
It was a bumpy road to have that car rented, because of technical issues with my CC and/or the card POS. However the staff was most helpful, extremely patient and supportive. They allowed me to make any calls to the booking company and the bank I needed to have the card work properly, and they were explaining each and every step of the rental process clearly and slowly. I received the exact make and model I booked (even the colour matched the photo :)), the car was clean and it might as well be a brand new one—it run without any issues. It was a hybrid, so the ride ended up being quite economic (around 10 litres of gasoline per approx. 240 km in quite a demanding terrain). I highly recommend the rental place.
Julia S — Google review
Amazing experience with service from Dimitri that was above and beyond. He was not satisfied to simply hand over the keys and send us on our way but planned our return to a different location, connected our devices and even swapped the car when this became complicated. I can not thank him enough for his professionalism and service.

Brettos bar, the oldest distillery in Greece, is a must-visit destination in Plaka. Established in 1909, it offers an overwhelming variety of traditional Greek spirits like Ouzo, Tsipouro, Rakomelo, and brandy. The iconic bar boasts an extensive wine list featuring both familiar and ancient grape varietals from all over Greece. Its flamboyant decor with liqueur bottles lit up by colorful lights creates a feast for the eyes.
We didn’t get any food her but the bar is fantastic. One of the most unique places I’ve ever been and so many different home made liqueurs to try. If you’re in Athens this place is a MUST visit. I still regret not buying one of the liqueurs to take home- just means we gotta go back!!

We entered the bar, and sat down. We looked though the menu and waited for one of the bartenders. There were only a few other couples inside. The bar is small but very unique. They have a large selection of drinks and cocktails. We unfortunately we're unable to order as no one attended to us. We left after about 10 mins.

Historic soul of Athens. Visited during my Athens bar crawl — Brettos is said to be the oldest bar-distillery in the city (since 1909), glowing with walls of colorful bottles and stacked wooden barrels. Tried a local white from rare Greek grape Kydonitsa — crisp and aromatic — and finished with a warm Rakomelo, a local mix of rakija, honey, and cinnamon. The staff knows their craft, and the whole atmosphere feels authentic and alive. a local Kydonitsa wine and finished with a warm Rakomelo — both excellent local tastes. Full of charm, good vibes and history - a must-stop in Plaka for anyone exploring authentic Athens bars.

Visiting Brettos Bar in Athens' charming Plaka neighborhood was a vivid highlight of my trip. You can't miss the stunning backlit wall of hundreds of colorful bottles—it’s truly mesmerizing and perfect for photos . Originally founded in 1909 as Greece's oldest distillery, Brettos still crafts its own ouzo, brandy, tsipouro, and more than 36 flavored liqueurs using centuries‑old Smyrna family recipes . Inside, the atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, thanks to wooden barrels, stone walls, and a friendly, rustic vibe. I popped in mid‑afternoon when it was quieter and loved getting expert recommendations from the bartender—sampling everything from Mastika to quadruple‑distilled ouzo and rakomelo was a delight . The staff were super helpful, passionate, and excellent at guiding me through the vast menu. One reviewer noted, “The staff is super helpful and energetic, always ready to assist you while you enjoy your drinks” . That energy really shines in person. Brettos also offers a fine selection of over 160 Greek wines, plus cocktails and beers. Seating is cozy—inside and out—and perfect either for a leisurely afternoon tasting or an evening drink stop. It’s the kind of place where both locals and travelers mingle, offering an authentic taste of Greek hospitality . Highly recommended for lovers of fine spirits, vibrant décor, and friendly service. Whether you're snapping photos or savoring homemade spirits, Brettos is a must‑visit gem in Athens!

Read about this place prior to visiting Athens so I was really excited to find it. We sat at the bar and read the drink menu then we sat and continued to sit. Despite having 3 servers who appeared available, not one of them spoke to us, or even acknowledged we were there. After receiving zero service we left and will not be back.

Brettos is one of Athens finest Establishments. My family and I have been coming to Greece for close to 3 decades and I've always recommended and will continue to recommend Brettos as one of if not the best wine bars there. The snacks they provide are always delicious, not full meals but definitely a brilliant parking to any of the beverages you can try. The Service is always absolutely incredible with the staff being friendly and helpful always trying to make the experience as pleasant as possible. If you haven't been in person yet - GO!!! The atmosphere is one of the best out of any of the options that Athens has to offer. The multi coloured bottles with lights around the exterior facade of the bar give it it's signature look. I'll be back without a doubt and additionally keep on recommending. Keep up the fantastic work Ladies and Gents.

One of the pinnacle bars of Athens. Fairly extensive drinks menu, but they will mix up most, if not any, drinks you ask for. Its small and intimate, yet has a great atmosphere. Staff are friendly, and were keen to give recommendations of what to drink. Open late, so its a great place to end an evening. For people from the UK, it was also featured on Richard Ayoade's '48 Hours in...' travel series, where he visited Brettos with Dawn French. Thoroughly recommended.

The 7 Jokers Coffee & Cocktail Bar is a popular late-night spot in Athens, known for its creative cocktails, draft beers, and an impressive selection of rare spirits. It's a favorite among industry insiders and bartenders who often visit after their shifts. The bar features a lively atmosphere with DJ-approved rock and funk music that attracts both first-timers and loyal customers. The quirky decor adds to the charm, making it a hidden gem in the bustling city.
Quick and friendly service, delicious cocktails and charming atmosphere. The music was loud (which is okay) and the DJ did a great job.

I really liked the interior of 7 Jokers. The coffee was very good, as was the service. It was quiet when I arrived, but the background music created some atmosphere. I imagine it can get quite busy here in the evenings once the drinking commences!

Went for cocktails with some friends the other night and as the good reviews suggest, they do make a good drink. It’s small and cosy inside, nothing crazy but a good place for casual drinks. My one issue was that I wanted something that was on the menu (evros) but not with the coffee infused Campari- I wanted the same exact thing, but with regular Campari. Tell me why the evros is €12 on the menu, but me ordering something slightly more basic, got charged €15? I didn’t even question it cause at this point in my trip to Greece, I was burnt out from questioning all the suspicious charges on my restaurant/bar bills.

Dominating the landscape is the Hellenic Parliament building, where visitors can marvel at the ceremonial Changing of the Guard performed by evzones in their striking traditional attire.
Pretty busy square located in the center of Athens. This place will most likely be your first attraction you see in Athens after getting down from the X95 Airport Bus. There are some amazing photo angles up on the stairs looking towards the city. You can also enjoy a full view of the Hellenic Parliament (Former Royal Palace). Make sure to check out the "changing-of-the-guards" event at the Hellenic Parliament every hour!

A beautiful and lively part of Athens. I went in August; there was live music and plenty of both tourists and locals enjoying the ambience. Very busy but amazing vibes! In front of the parliament and near beautiful hotels. The metro station is right here, as well as bus stops going to the airport and other destinations. In the daytime, there’s also places to sit down in the shade when it’s hot.

Syntagma Square and Ermou Street form the vibrant heart of Athens and are absolutely worth a visit, especially during the late afternoon hours when the heat begins to ease. Syntagma is not only historically important—with the Parliament building and the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony—but also a great starting point for exploring the city. Right next to it, Ermou Street stretches out as one of Athens' busiest shopping streets, lined with a fantastic mix of international brands, Greek fashion stores, and small boutiques. Whether you're looking for clothes, shoes, souvenirs, or just browsing, there’s something for everyone. The street is pedestrian-friendly and shaded in some parts, making it a pleasant walk even in warm weather. There are also plenty of cafes, bakeries, and juice bars along the way if you need to cool off with a drink or grab a quick bite. Street performers and local musicians often add to the lively atmosphere, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're visiting Athens, this area should definitely be on your list—great for shopping, relaxing, people-watching, and feeling the energy of the city. It's where ancient charm meets modern Athenian life.

Cute little rooftop with chill vibes. I'd say come with a group if you're feeling social. It's fine if you're alone and want some passive socialization. Otherwise, at least, the night I went, the vibe was not conducive to meeting strangers. Entrance is off Salaminos. The doors are open when they are. Take the stairs to the top. Table service. Bill's brought to you shortly after your order. I think food is only available at certain times? I came at a time when there was no kitchen service but a little bowl of flavoured popcorn came with my beer to the table. Bathroom taps have a foot pedal to activate the tap. You'll see them on your way up to the rooftop, they're 1 level below.

By the Glass Athens is a sophisticated wine bar and bistro located in the heart of the city center, within the charming Rallis arcade facing the Russian Orthodox church. The venue offers an extensive wine list featuring 250 Greek and global labels, with 50 available by the glass using the innovative Coravin system. This allows guests to enjoy pricey or vintage wines without having to purchase a full bottle. The elegant setting makes it perfect for business meetings or upscale gatherings.
Dinner at Bistro by the Glass in Athens was absolutely delightful! The staff were welcoming, kind, and very helpful in guiding us to choose the perfect wine—Plano Malagousia, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the cheese and charcuterie board was exceptional. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The restaurant is well dedigned in an elegant way and is hidden from the overall "beauty" of the surroundings. I went there for a business dinner but I dont think there would be much difference if it was privately. Went there @18.30 and left @22.30 having just finished the dessert. There were long waiting times even for a beer (not all of the to be fair) - we had the food around 21.00 although we didnt delay the order. The steak (veal) was well cooked but nothing special in terms of taste. Salad was better. Pinsa good but rather small. Dessert was interesting but only the pastry, sorbet chocolate so and so. Overall I dont believe it was worth the price the company paid and I would most probably wouldn't choose it myself again. Variety of beers was reduced as opposed to wines, but since we didnt opt for wine I cannot say anything.

What a gorgeous building this is in, really adds to the atmosphere! We were there on a quiet Monday lunchtime to wait out some poor weather, and lucky to have the owner choose some glasses of wine for us from the very very extensive menu. Shame we didn’t have time to go back for another glass to say goodbye when we left the city. Thank you!!

Best selection of wines from Greece and Europe. Knowledgable wait staff that can pair wines with food. Tasting size (150 ml) available which makes it easy to sample multiple wines. Great jazz music as well. Reservations highly recommended. So good that I ate here twice!
Paul K — Google review
Made a booking for 4 inside without issues. Arrived and got sat outside in the hallway - slightly annoying but at least the staff apologised for the change of plans. Ordered from a comprehensive wine list and everyone was satisfied. Got a really nice beef tartare, the chicken was alright and the dishes generally satisfactory with the exception of the aubergine that was a let down, the various purees really didn't mix well. Service was great, the staff attentive, quick and polite. Fairly expensive, justified mostly by the service and the location. Decent option but there's a lot of good alternatives in the city centre to better cater to someone's tastes.

Nice small Club in Athens with good DJs around. Great sound and crowd! Had fun there, was dancing till the Sunrise. Coming Back ..

pretty cool club! it's tiny but has a nice vibe! been to a party where Traumer played and it was a lot of fun. audio system slaps! the only downsides were that people working at the bar were pretty arrogant. and the prices of everything at the bar was 10 euros. which is kinda crazy! oh, and people smoking inside, but I guess it's a general thing happening over here.
Andreea D — Google review
STAY AWAY ‼️‼️‼️ just got stopped from entering the place saying that there is a dress code while I was dressed nicely and respectfully. There was no mention of dress code on the flyer plus I was a guest of the DJ herself otherwise I would never go to an underground club where it smells like piss. I hope someone reach out to me until then if you have decency do not go there
Muhamed H — Google review
The beat from this club is so high it is impossible to sleep if you are staying in a nearby residence . I don’t know how is it even allowed to operate within a residential area, let alone working until 6 am even in winter. Even ear plugs are useless with that level of noise.
Abdullah A — Google review
The fact that you rund music well above 100dB and don't even provide ear protections (not even to buy) gives this club a 1 star rating. Everyone who goes there regularly without ear protection save already for some hearing aid...
Dominique L — Google review
It was fun, we made new friends and saw old ones. Great dancers, we loved their show. Drink and vibe to the rythm of the music and the crowd.
Marina K — Google review
We reserved, but they still did not qccept us in. We even already told them, we were down to pay at least en 180 euros, bur still did not accept us. Dont go to this place.
Joop K — Google review
Like a home away from home for me. Best music and crowd Athens has to offer! The booze and staff rock 2! Addendum:. I used to love this bar. After a location and management change the best days of this place are behind it as far as I'm concerned. On a very recent visit I was coerced to pay for a second bottle (illegal by the way ) when my guests and I were offered a shelf at the dj booth with enough room for only the ice bucket that contained our first bottle - we didn't even have enough room to place our drinks - at 180euro a bottle for bar stock booze! Get over yourselves. DYBBUK was a must destination for me but not anymore. You can keep the dingy, overcrowded, smoke filled basement, and the manager who has no clue about customer service, for other patrons. Actually I should take the opportunity to thank the manager for barring me from the club ( as if I can't make a reservation under an alias...Soo clever). As a non smoker my lungs thank you since you do allow smoking in the establishment ( also illegal under EU law). Enough said. Luckily for me and everyone I know Athens abounds with bars and clubs who know how to appreciate their clientele and employ the same DJ's... so no loss for me.

Little Kook is a popular fairytale-inspired cafe located in the Psirri neighborhood of Athens. The cafe is known for its whimsical decor, which changes with the seasons and is inspired by fairy tales such as Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, Cinderella, and Peter Pan. This unique theme creates a magical atmosphere that delights visitors and provides plenty of opportunities for social media-worthy photographs.
This place is a must see when you are in Psiri. If you are in Monastiraki just cross Ermou street and you will be in the Psiri neighborhood. The decoration changes according to the time of year and it is absolutly amazing, unreal. There are always LOTS of people who just come to take pictures and selfies so sometime you have to rub elbows to get the picture you want. This time we sat down for a coffee and a refreshment. We didn't have desserts, they are oversized but that wasn't the problem,it had more to do with the time of day. The service was great. Everyone was smiling and friendly and easy to talk to. I admire their courage because beacause it must not be easy with the large crowds this place has. Our refreshments were expensive but that's to be expected. You pay for the atmosphere, decoration and all that goes with the place. Little Kook is a must in Athens!

A beautifully decorated street with Halloween as theme for this time of the year. They have different themes thought the year. It was really nice to see. It can get busy with tourists. The waiters were friendly and also funny. Eating and drinking here can be more expensive than other places.

Me and my wife went a few days back, and had one of the best servers we could’ve asked for (shoutout to Filip!). Everything was so theatrical and Halloween-themed, and the coffees were great too! Most certainly recommend this experience to any visitors to Athens.
Blaine A — Google review
The concept and decorations of the place are quite nice, but I can't say the same about the taste. The desserts are full of whipped cream and sugar, but they're not delicious. There's a lot of decoration inside, and if possible, I recommend experiencing the interior. The tables and chairs are also quite impressive.

This is a sight to see! So beautiful and they decorate is seasonally. The entire street is decorated. We went in October and it was Halloween themed. We did not eat at the restaurant itself but it seemed very busy. Very kid friendly.

The establishment offers French-influenced cuisine, including Italian-inspired dishes such as appetizers, pasta, pizza, bruschette, and salads. The cocktail menu features twenty-one unique selections made with seasonal and Mediterranean ingredients.
This was absolutely the most beautiful bar I've ever entered! It was stunning, and I could've spent all evening simply admiring the decor. Masterfully crafted cocktails, excellent service, and a wonderful evening all together. Great music, also! They had a DJ curating the music.

High end bar offering creative and sophisticated cocktails with flavor twists. Beautiful interior that mesmerizes you and makes the setting perfectly comfortable for a night out with your friends. Offering a vast list of signatures drinks, the drinks, while tasty, are pricey compared to other bars in the nearby area. Regardless, it’s worth a visit for the ambiance, music and creative cocktails they offer that you won’t find anywhere else. My visit was during the weekend daytime which offered plenty of seating. However, at night, I’m sure it is plenty busy!

Have been in Athens for a week now and this is the best food, service and atmosphere I’ve experienced so far!! Highly recommend the salmon avocado bruschetta! I can’t say enough amazing things about this place, it’s a must if you’re in Athens!
Chloe S — Google review
Noel was on our radar as a cocktail bar until we walked by it during the lunch hour and people were inside. We changed our original lunch plans to dine at Noel and didn't regret it. To eat, we ordered pork gyros and the cheese pizza for our eight-year-old daughter. Everything was delicious! The gyros don't come with sauce or tzatziki, but it didn't need it. The meat was perfectly flavored and paired well with the bread and onions. To drink, I ordered one of their more sweet cocktails with a berry garnish. It was refreshing!

Black Duck Garden is a true hidden gem and an absolute must-visit in Athens Center. Tucked away in the beautiful garden of the Athens City Museum, it offers a stunning, serene escape from the noise and heat of the city streets. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip—it feels elegant, lush, and perfectly relaxed, especially in the evening when the lighting must be magical. The dishes were fresh, beautifully presented and delicious! What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. Our server was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel upscale without being stuffy. Whether you’re stopping for coffee, brunch, or a romantic dinner, this place delivers on setting, quality, and service. Highly, highly recommended!

Phenomenal. Kind and knowledgeable staff. Amazing freddo. One of the best coffees I've ever had. They also freeze servings of their single origins, which I haven't seen before in my travels, and greatly appreciated the dedication to the craft. Closest I'll more than likely ever come to having coffee that fresh. A must visit for enthusiasts.
K. S — Google review
They give you 3 different cups to experience the smell, taste, and body of the coffee. Many, many different beans to choose from, especially for espressos. I got the hand drip (filter coffee, V60, pour over) and it was expertly crafted to draw out the flavour of the single origin beans.

Wonderful place with some of the best coffee I've ever had. The cinnamon roll was also incredible! They have a great offer of coffee (beans and already grinded) and I even brought one bag of coffee beans - with a great assistance from the owner (I assume) - to try at home and I shouldn't have, because it was amazing and now I can't have any more!

One of the best specialty coffee shops I’ve tried. The flavor is rich, the quality is top-notch, and the baristas are skilled and friendly. Every cup is brewed with attention to detail. The place is simple yet elegant, comfortable for sitting or just taking away. Prices are fair for the quality. Does it deserve another visit? ✅ Yes, absolutely."
Saleh T — Google review
Just received has a gift from a bag of premium geisha beans. What was supposed to be a wonderfully fruity, sweet and complex cup of filter coffe, very quickly became a bitter disappointment. As soon as opening the bag you can see just how rough is the roast on that lot, absurdly uneven roast with a lot of way too light and developed beans and plenty of much darker that preferred for this kind of coffee. Gave it a try a couple of times, traying to maximize the situation by technique and brewing parameters chance... But unfortunately the roast is awful and the beans went to the "cold brew beans"... What a waste for 30€ for 150gr of beans... Those poor poor beans...

Pizza Takeout
Crust is a New York-style pizzeria located on Psirris trendiest street, Protogenous. The founder's aim was to bring authentic New York pizza to Athens, and they have succeeded in doing so. The pizzeria offers delicious and large slices that are perfect for a quick bite.
Great little spot and definitely fun to find pizza by the slice in Athens 🍕 The idea and vibe are nice, and it’s always a win when you can just grab a slice on the go or seat and chill in central of Athens. As for the pizza itself it feels like something between Greek style and NY style. Personally, I found the sauces a bit too sweet, and the dough quite thick, heavy nothing special. Overall, still worth a try if you’re nearby, but not a standout for me. ⭐️ 5.2/10 *if it’s not sourdough, it can’t really get above a ⭐️6 for me via my ratings.
RENE S — Google review
As an Italian, I have to play that card first: I know my pizza. I can make it myself, and I absolutely love exploring different versions of this iconic dish. So naturally, I was excited to try Crust after hearing so many recommendations. Let’s start with the crust itself—it’s NOT GOOD! Think of it as the chewy version of Domino’s handtossed one. That said, the ingredients were fresh. Moreover, I can’t quite justify the price. In Italy, in my region (Venice), you can get a jumbo-sized amazing pizza with authentic mozzarella, fiordilatte, truffle oil, prosciutto, and mushrooms for 12 euros. In Naples, the same pizza will cost you around 7-8 euros. And no, it’s not just about taxes—Italy’s VAT is 22%, only slightly lower than Greece’s 24%. So why is a pizza here 14 euros for a much smaller, non-authentic version ? The quality doesn’t match the price point. Let’s remember, pizza was born as food for the people—accessible and affordable. If you’re curious to try it, go ahead. But for me, it’s a one-and-done experience. Just wanted to share an honest review to help others decide. I also can't believe it has so many good reviews...LMAO

The lawless had such a brilliant spicy calabrese sausage on it and the tomato base sauce was stunning. The snow white with its parmesan cream was demolished which was a good enough sign for me. Such a cool environment and vibe and the service was quick and brilliant. Thank you very much for a top quality pizza!

Great pizza from Great people on a Great Street in a great City. Would 10/10 recommend this for a dining experience. The pizza is very good and there are lots of choices. You can order a whole pizza for about €8 or just a slice for €3.50. Superb value for money. Really livley street to sit on outside the shop and watch the locals enjoying drinks at some up the most popular bars in town. They serve alcohol in the shop but that's no reason to try out some of the bars next door after your slice either. Really enjoyed this!
Callum B — Google review
Nice staff. The pizza is similar to Papa John's - not thin / not thick crust, good toppings. They have slices available. There are some tables, but it's mostly take away place.
Kimmy K — Google review
Went to this great pizza store, very much a hip younger and late night crowd that they cater to but was very family friendly and was very nice to us. Their slices are large so almost equal to two American slices of pizza. The “lawless” which was pepperoni pizza was delicious and a hint of spicy heat was detected in the pepperoni. Highly recommend and the street was cute for shopping, I think the area could benefit from more places like this. They also will deliver!

From the service to the food to the crowd … overrated snd disappointing The most disappointing part is the good quality steak with cumin sauce??? That was our surprise!? U do not put cumin on any kind of steak 😱 the guy serving us was on another planet. Made many mistakes in our order .. and made us at the end pay for his mistake. Drinks were overpriced too. We ordered margaritas at the end, waiter got us a pizza margarita 🤦🏻‍♀️

Been there twice, one time we booked a table and the other near the bar with a minimum charge. All ok,,, but what i do not understand is the crowds that go in for free, and invade ur space, ur seat, ur table, ur standing spot (that costed you 120 euro minimum charge !) i believe they should not allowed heaps and heaps of people to come on! Even the lady on the phone, when we call for reservation and all is booked, suggested that come by the door and try to find a spot,,, so apparently this is a policy! Otherwise all is fine.

Food was ok but the service not so good. What I found disrespectful was that when I paid the bill for the party of people I invited and the bill was a good amount of money, I left a tip for 5% as I wasn’t that satisfied and the waitress had the audacity to tell me that I had to leave a tip of 10%. This is the first time something like this is happening to me and I have been to so many places all over the world. Also, although we told them that we needed a table for 10 when we called for the reservation, initially they squeezed us in a table for 6. If they want to keep their good reputation they have to be more careful.

Very alternative and nerdy, cozy in atmosphere and people. The cocktails were nice too. Went before a post punk concert, only to be pleasantly surprised to find good post punk music playing here too!

This is the best bar in Athens for me, totally of the beaten path!!! A racoon is doing the door!!!! a real racoon called nikos!! i couldnt believe it!!! Drinks are amazing!!! the Paloma is killer!!! and on the other side of the road u have a Pizza place, that sells t-shirts to any one who doesn’t know how to eat without getting tomato sauce all over themselves. Also a local crow stops by and steals cigarettes. bizzarr and amazing!!

One of the best bars in Athens if you like post-punk and similar. Very affordable prices and cool decoration. The staff is the "icing on the cake": super friendly and amazing humans. I walked into the bar once by myself and left with a bunch of friends that stayed in my life. If it feels like home, looks like home and smells like home, you know what they say: home you are.

Irish pub
Restaurant
The James Joyce Irish Pub, located at #12 Astigos Street in Monastiraki, offers a cozy and authentic Irish pub experience. The pub is owned by Irish people and features a long bar serving draft Guinness, Kilkenny, Fosters, Carlsberg, Heineken as well as an array of bottled beers. Visitors can enjoy hearty pub grub while being entertained by live Irish music. The atmosphere inside the pub exudes character and charm reminiscent of traditional pubs in Ireland.
The James Joyce is an Irish pub in the center of Athens. The outdoor seating has a great view of Acropolis and the indoor seating has three televisions usually playing sports. The drinks are well prepared and they have many different beers on tap. They also have hard cider and a full bar. The food is consistently good, freshly prepared and the service is great. Clean shop, clean restrooms, and comfortable seating. We have been coming here since 2022 and have always had good drinks, good food, and good service.

My husband and I in our travels love going to Irish pubs, and this was a very fun surprise! The food is phenomenal and our service from Mixlais was great! For those of you that want to have a little bit of an Irish experience in Athens, I highly recommend it. Mushy peas, & fish and chips were as good as you would get in Ireland.

So nice to revisit after 15 years away. A wonderful example of UK good taste pub. Perfect pour Guinness, excellent fish and chips. We chose to sit outside and relax in the shade. Great overall atmosphere. Highly recommend James Joyce Athens

Great pub right in the heart of Athens! I went twice during my trip to watch the football and it was the perfect spot. There are 3 screens, so you’ll always have a great view of the game. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive - special shoutout to Michalis, who made sure I was never without a drink beforeI'd even thought about heading to the bar. The outdoor seating has a great view of the Acropolis. I didn’t get a chance to try the food, but it looked tasty and I spotted there are good options for vegetarians and vegans too. Excellent service and vibe. Highly recommend!

My lady and I went out to eat on our last night in Greece. We wanted something different and she wanted wings. So I Googled places close to our hotel and came across this AMAZING establishment. The wings were everything. She had ribs and loved it. I had the roast chicken with mashed potatoes and it was hitting. Great food, great staff and all for a good price!!!!

Great Irish pub in the heart of Athens tourist District. Close to Monstraki and Plaka. Good beers, football games on the television a nice respite away from regular Athens after a few days of immersing yourself in local culture. Really great service and great service.

Outstanding views of the Acropolis, wonderful atmosphere and amazingly friendly staff who went out of their way to make our time here memorable!! I've spent the last 2 or 3 years searching all across the UK for Kilkenny and it's taken me coming to Athens to finally find it!! Cannot recommend this place enough, it's a wonderful place.

What a lovely pub, just positioned by some ruins and views of the Acropolis as you can see by the photo! Whilst I didn't eat, my god watching the food being brought out was soooo tempting but unfortunately I'd been a pig at my buffet breakfast at the hotel and couldn't have managed it, despite wanting to! Good selection of beers, friendly service, sports inside and perfectly located! Very much recommend

Bar
Tiki Bar Athens is a vibrant hangout known for its playful decor, exotic cocktails, and regular DJ music. The bar's 80s kitsch nostalgia vibe features bamboo accents, plants, and leopard-print chairs. It offers a range of carefully crafted cocktails such as the Jamaican Sour with fresh lime and Campari, the American Smash with Tennessee whiskey and tropical options like the Dominican Margarita with rum.
Amazing cocktails and food! Best burgers we've ever had. Cosy seating inside with nice decor. Loved the atmosphere, would visit whenever possible.

The decor was the best part about Tiki Bar Athens. We each had a cocktail and they were good (I had a Paloma and my husband had a Mai tai) but nothing special. The complimentary popcorn as a bar snack was a nice touch. Service was slow though so I went to order the drinks at the bar myself and even ask for the bill when we were ready because the wait staff was nowhere in sight.

Sipping my way through Athens and stumbled upon a little slice of paradise at Tiki Bar 🍹✨ From the moment I walked in I was in love — the vibe, the tropical décor, the island-y energy — but the real showstopper? The cocktails. Some of the best I’ve had on this trip. If you’re in Athens, this is a must-stop & toast spot. Whether you’re chasing a sunset sip or late-night island escape, Tiki’s your ticket.

We had this added as a place to grab a drink while visiting Athens. When we went we got some food as well as we hadn't had dinner. Bar
Batman Bar, located in the Neos Kosmos area of Athens, has been a popular spot since it opened its doors in 1989. The bar is known for its impromptu live performances and a cult following among artists and musicians. It's an after-hours destination that comes to life after 3am, offering traditional Greek music in a small, dark basement setting. The charismatic owner, Giorgos Nasios, serves as both the resident barman and DJ.
What can I say about this place? Originality and pure old school Greek music emerging from a previous century. However it may something difficult to visit the restrooms from time to time. The new guy in front is doing his best to keep the pub running smooth. Tip: either enter around 2300 and stick to a stop or after 1630 or grab a drink a drink it outside, you can still hear the music and chat with all the nice chaps queuing there.

Restaurant
42 Barstronomy Athens is an upscale and slightly quirky all-day bar and bistro located near Syntagma Metro station. The exterior is adorned with flowers and foliage, while the interior boasts a blend of mid-century modern decor and neoclassical design. Downstairs, guests can enjoy the swanky Angus Hudson Butlers Lounge offering butler service, top-shelf spirits, and a la minute charcuterie.
The food and drinks are fantastic! The service is also good. The wine selection is also very good. The ambiance and music are some of the best in all of Athens! We went on our first day in town. After spending an entire day wandering around and dining at mediocre restaurants, we returned to 42 for a magical dinner!

Excellent service, music and top quality cocktails 🍹! Average price of cocktail is €11 but worths every penny. It doesn't have a long list of cocktails but this dozen of different ones will definitely win you. Experiment with yourself and don't hesitate to ask for help from the excellent service!

Beautiful place, loved the decorations!!! The drinks were unfortunately a disappointment. Did not taste good and had barely any alcohol! Felt like drinkingjuice (And I usually get drunk after 2 glass of wine)

This was a cool cocktail bar that had a really nice ambiance to it. We enjoyed the drinks and the bar bites. The mini burgers were our favorite. Only issue we had was most the tables were completely empty but designed as reserved when we asked. We spent an hour and a half at the restaurant and none of the reserved tables were every occupied by guests.

The atmosphere is very relaxing, and so goes the food. What they call a toast, is a Panni for me. It was wonderful. The cheese was light and so was the ham. And the textures of both were delightful. As an afternoon snack, this is a wonderful location and place to sit at. Not a lot of foot traffic means that you will receive your peace and quiet as needed.

Jazz In Jazz is a classic bar that opened in 1996, offering a unique jazzy vibe with walls adorned with jazz memorabilia. The cozy spot plays a broad variety of jazz and occasionally hosts live gigs. Situated in the upmarket Kolonaki neighborhood, this speakeasy-style bar established in 1978 provides a nostalgic ambiance with vintage decor and offers quality drinks while enjoying a soundtrack spanning various jazz genres.
Great Jazz bar. Unfortunately no live music. One of the best Old Fashion’s I had. Very enjoyable
Marat N — Google review
Nice jazz bar in the quiet part of Kolonaki. Mistakenly, I went there expecting to enjoy some live music -- the place is what is says it is, a bar, perfectly styled for the Jazz with some nice music playing and a good selection of well-made cocktails available. On the night I visited, the place was crowded mostly with locals, so I assume the bar is well-liked among those who know how to avoid tourist traps of Athens. The gentleman pictured is a bartender, who has volunteered to pose for an image.

Cool place and decor but the service is poor. Not being local seemed to be a hassle which is disappointing as the place has a really good vibe and loved the neon on the roof. Cocktails are their specialty and the menu is certainly unique. Great tasting cocktails and awesome decor - they just need a little improvement on the service.

If you are not greek, they ll lie to you to have drinks outside and let only locals enter. Poor mentality for a club in a city like this. Still funny to see a place playing black music but not letting brown/black people enter...

Western music. Good cocktails. Crowded. Quite touristy. You have to wait and try to squeeze into the bar if you are here on a weekend. So try to come early in order to grab a table. Outside standing area is also nice as it is more airy than inside.

I think i was not lucky enough on thursday night. Though i specially came not at weekend to be able to sit and talk and enjoy. Ola kala as Greek say - the music, the interior, the guys behind the bar, the choice of drinks. But... Here is my humble "but" - no enthusiasm... the barman was soooo bored he didnt even 'rinse' my drink so there were ice and sth else + the drink took the smell of a metal shaker for some reason, so I couldnt finish it. Ps: this is a review mostly of a visit, i'm sure if i were local and could give more tries to this place i wd discover all the advantages. But just wanted to share this to be careful with expectation;))

I visited the Bank Job, after a late dinner. I was there around 12:30am and the place had very few people. After a while the place was packed, so it is an after bar. They have a good variety of drinks and at the time of my visit the music was 80's and 90's disco style, so many people felt like dancing, which I liked. The atmosphere is not something special, but the music brings this place to life.

Eprepe Bar is a charming and trendy establishment located in the emerging district of Kypseli. The bar features an inviting space with a mosaic floor, industrial concrete walls, and sidewalk tables that create a laid-back neighborhood atmosphere. It serves as a Greek gastro-kafeneio and natural wine bar, offering an array of classic cocktails, exclusively natural wines, and lesser-known spirits. The menu boasts bistronomic bar snacks and modern dishes to complement the drinks.
I only tried one dish: roasted pumpkin with goat cheese, arugula and an orange gel. It was a very well balanced dish which I thoroughly enjoyed. The music in the bar was very good, the staff was pleasant and I spent a very nice couple of hours without feeling rushed at all. Really cool place for drinks and bites. Unfortunately there were only a couple of waiters which made the service look poor and super unorganized, resulting to delays on drink orders, wrong drinks and the like. On that note, would still go back in the hope that they’ll notice that more waiters are required.

Epta Martyres is a popular wine bar in Athens, established by seven wine enthusiasts. Despite its unassuming appearance, the bar has gained a devoted following since its opening in early 2024. The interior exudes a typical Athenian kafenio ambiance with classic Thonet chairs and round marble tables. Guests are treated to meze with each round of drinks, reminiscent of a traditional Greek ouzeri.
This restaurant offers a fantastic variety of delicious dishes in a pleasant atmosphere. While the beer selection may not be extensive, the focus on wine compensates for it. The staff is attentive and friendly. Every dish we tried was exceptional in both flavor and texture, with the only slight disappointment being the brownie, which would have been elevated with a side of ice cream. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend this establishment.

This place is just amazing! We had 4 days in Athens and went to a lot of casual fine dining places, wine bars and cocktail places: line, pharao and wine is fine, just to name a few. In my opinion this place is the clear winner. Absolutely fair prices, an amazing neighbourhood and a beautiful location and design. What stood out the most was the service we got, especially from Jason who is the sommelier of epta martyres. This guy is just amazing! Super friendly, funny and cool guy. Good expertise of the wine they offered. Thank you Jason, you made our trip so good and we had a blast with you. This place is a MUST VISIT.

This place is exceptional. Trendy (but not in a bad way). Everyone, including the staff, seem to be having a great time. The food is excellent. A respectful tip towards regular Greek food but elevated to a different level by the chef's imagination and skill. All at extremely reasonable prices. Our selection of 3 mezze and 2 a la carte dishes was pretty much perfect (We were hungry, and I'm a big eater but even I had to leave a bit uneaten). Special mention though goes to the wines, and the simply excellent Jason, their sommelier. A super friendly guy but extremely knowledgeable about the wines and will make excellent recommendations according to your tastes. Believe the positive press reviews and make the short trip outwith the usual tourist areas. Definitely worth the effort.

Dimitris K — Google review
Big disappointment in this one. I’m not into leaving a negative review unless the place is really worth one. I have had this overhyped wine bar on my list for around a year now. We passed numerous times by there and it was overly crowded, so we chose instead other places around. What makes it worthy of a negative review, though, is the two times that we actually found free tables to sit. The first time, there were 2 empty tables, without any signage of being reserved. We were greeted, asked what we came for and immediately heard that the place is full, so we had to leave. Second time was today. We came, found a quiet free table and sat. The waiter came after a couple of minutes to inform us that there’s space only inside, while he claimed he had no time to prepare the table, as it was reserved. Club
Sodade2 is a popular gay bar located in Gazi, known for being the first of its kind in the area. Despite its small size, it has become an institution and tends to get extremely crowded on weekends. The club features two stages with different music genres, offering mainstream pop in the front and trance music at the back. Another notable spot is BEqueer, a newer addition to Gazi's scene that provides a more inclusive and alternative clubbing experience along with radical drag shows.

OMG.Ignore the bad reviews — they don’t reflect the truth. It’s obvious this club is too good, and some competitors can’t stand it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hi Guys I am From Belgium Visiting Athens My Partner And I Had An Amazing experience at Sodade2!Last Night From the security at the door to the toilet attendant, the staff was outstanding. The music was incredible on both dance floors, the bar was fast, and the crowd was full of energy. Even though the club was packed, it stayed fresh and fun all night. One of the best nightlife spots in Athens! We Live The Club 3:30 Am The Club Was Full And look At The Line Up On The Pic To Enter The Club.Congrats To All The Stuff 👏👏👏

This is such a nice, safe and welcoming place unlike the other queer bars in athens.everyone is so nice and respectful towards each other. The bartenders are also very kind, especially nelly. The drinks are amazing and most of all you are free to be yourself, without anyone judging you. I recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Athens!!! Also big props to the guy at the entrance who is super nice and welcoming. Other queer bars should take an example of this bar. The best place in athens to be!!!

incredibly rude bouncer, charged 10€ cover got inside and was the only person in the club. so i turned around and went back to ask for my money back and to return by drink ticket the bouncer gave me a hard time and said “you didn’t ask if it was crowded” sorry do i also have to ask if you’re serving alcohol or if the electricity is on. sleazy move charging ten euro cover for an empty club.

Weird thing: this place has an amazing back room where a woman dj plays some of the best music I've heard in my life, the crowd is nice and everybody is dancing. But apparently they consider as the 'main stage' the front room that plays outdated and boring pop music, full of posers and nobody is dancing. It is even weirder when you see that all the gay clubs in Athens play the same tacky pop music, so what really makes this place special is the back room. The place needs to be updated and realise that gay clubbing is not that anymore. You have a mediocre bar at the front and the real club is at the back, underrated and hidden.

There are some very weird reviews about this place, and frankly I have no idea why. I went last night around 12:15, and had an absolutely amazing time! The staff were all very friendly and super attentive - I didn't wait more than 2 or 3 minutes to be served by the bartender. The DJ was PHENOMENAL, and knew exactly what songs to play and when. The manager was also very friendly, and made sure we felt safe. The clientele was super varied, with people from all over the world coming to join. Cover is €20, and was very easy to get in. This was on a Thursday night, so I can't imagine how great it must be on the weekend proper. Sodade2 is absolutely the place to be for a great drink, good atmosphere, and an solid dance. Thank you to everyone who helped me make my night amazing. Can't wait to come back!

Visiting here from US. Was pretty pumped up to come here first before visiting all the other bars because this one had the best rating. But to be honest, I don't know what other people are giving 5 stars because this was a joke of an establishment. The bouncer tonight was rude & looked miserable as I opened the door. When walking in, a big question mark. The "club" is literally the size of my kitchen. It's I wanna say 800sq feet at most. I don't know how they operate on a Saturday or Friday given a Sunday was somewhat filled. I was very disappointed. Second, the law here from what I read is no cigarettes or smoking in any bar. It was like hot boxing cigarettes in here. My clothes reaked by the end of the night. Huge turnoff. People doing coke right out on the pathetic dance floor , no big deal. The bartender was nice, however what's with using a measurer? It's a club. Measuring your shot in a drink is comical. We're not at a 5 star restaurant. We're in a sleezy club. No need to measure every drop that goes into your drink. Especially being a gay bar, fill that cup up. The dj tonight had the WORST transition in songs. Like 10 seconds it could be Britney, then you go to disco music right after. Re-evaluation of a nightly DJ is needed. Overall, I would not recommend.
M L — Google review
Every second person smokes inside, that's absolutely horrible. The club does nothing with that (that's funny to read old responses of the club here that comments on smoking "taken very seriously"). Bouncer at the door and lady at a cocktail bar are absolutely unfriendly and somewhat rude. First hour dj was randomly changing music every 20 seconds, that was akward.

Not recommended, very small and waaay too crowded. I also got alcohol poisoning and because I was wasted (maybe because the drinks were bad? 👀) they had to kick me out (I was disturbing the DJ). At least they informed my group I was kicked out. Not a great place, also kinda filthy.
Λεωνίδας Π — Google review
The spot is amazing and the club is very nice but if you are not Greek the things can be a little bit more difficult. The place is completely full, impossible to buy a simple drink.

Hmm, the music was great but the crowd is a bit young. It’s definitely not the scene for the 30+ crowd unless I went on the wrong night. If you are going on a night out with friends, I guess this is the place to be but if you’re a bit older and want a more low key vibe this isn’t the place for you. I think I stayed long enough for a selfie with Frank and went home lol.

Don't go unless you want to forcefully spend 360€. Went there at 11.45 and it wasn't open. A guy working there told us that we can go in without reservation since they had free tables. We asked how much the bottle is and they said 360€. We then asked if we can go in if we just order a drink and he said yes absolutely. When it opened, a different guy at the door told us we can't go in if we don't bye a bottle and was being extremely smug about it. Basically you can't go there unless you're willing to spend 360€.

Horrible service, the worst I have ever encountered!! Very rude members of staff! Although we had booked a TABLE for 10 people, they gave us a 1m stand and insisted that this is a table. They also did not care to be of any help at all. There are a lot better and more authentic discos in Athens, please choose another one instead!

The Parthenon, a restored ancient temple with iconic Doric columns dating back to 447 BC, is a must-see landmark on the archaeological site in Athens. Visitors can explore major historical and archaeological sites such as the Acropolis, the renowned museum, and other significant cultural museums like the Benaki Museum of Islamic Art and the Museum of Cycladic Art. In addition to historical sites, Athens offers vibrant neighborhoods and pedestrian streets for visitors to explore.
I came on a weekday, but it was still crowded because it was the end of the travel season,The view overlooking the city of Athens, a magnificent structure, was magical. Although there was nothing exciting, I was glad to have seen it with my own eyes. The birthplace of civilization, the oldest city, the once prosperous and powerful city in the world.

A must see if visiting Athens. Its uneven surfaces for parts of it so walking boots are recommended. The Parthenon is very impressive and the View of Athens from the tip shows how big Athens is. Worth getting a guided tour to learn the history of the site.
John M — Google review
We've been there at the end of October, which is is probably the best time of the year. Weather is usually still sunny, while at the same time its not too hot. And the Acropolis is not overcrowded even tho you will meet lots of ppl. Keep in mind this is one of the worlds most visited must-see hotspots. You have to book a time slot in advance when you buy the tickets. If your kids are EU citizens and under 18y old, they do not have to pay the current 30 EUR entrance fee! They get free entrance, but passports/IDs are required to proof your citizenship. You can not book these free kids tickets in advance online. So you will have to line up at the two ticket offices. Once at the office you usually wont get instant access. So plan for another 2-3 hours waiting time ahead. We went to the acropolis museum (extra 20 € pp, kids free). Try to visit the museum before you actually visit the Acropolis as you will learn a lot. Once you are on the top you will understand why this place is so special. View is spectecular and you will notice how massive the buildings must have been. Enjoy!
Mixed T — Google review
It’s the most important sightseeing attraction in Athens and it’s worth it, but 30€ is not a cheap amount of money to get the entrance. But you’ll get an amazing view, especially during sunset hour. I can highly recommend to book your ticket online in advance, otherwise you have to wait in line for more than an hour in the worst case.
Alexander G — Google review
What can I say about the Acropolis and Parthenon to add to its natural historical splendor? Visiting the here isn’t just another sightseeing stop — it’s a journey back to the very roots of Western civilization. Standing at the top of that hill, overlooking Athens, you can really appreciate the beauty of the place. If you love history, and art, the Acropolis isn’t just a site to visit; it’s an experience to feel. Highly recommend to come early and order tickets in advance. Definitely take a guided tour to really appreciate what you’re seeing.
Aharon W — Google review
Awesome moment to visit a place like Acropolis and to see the Parthenon!! It was surreal!! Very beautiful. ...and I know why they chose that location. The views were amazing!!
Edmond M — Google review
The Acropolis/Parthenon experience was nice. The climb up wasn’t so bad (just kind slippery floors and wear shoes with good grip). We bought tickets a day prior for the 6pm slot and were allowed in at 5.45pm. The good: Overall a pretty place. As a history buff, it was a special experience to be standing at a place where so much history was made. Got some nice photos of the structures against the evening sun. There were shaded spots here and there for some respite from the sun. The bad: The €30 ticket price. It isn’t justified given that there are a lot of works actively being done inside. There were a lot of scaffolding and machinery around. The structures were also cordoned off. You just feel like a visitor going through the area and snapping pictures instead of feeling like you’re really experiencing what it must have been like to be up at the Acropolis back then. Some may be okay with this, but I just feel a €20 ticket would make more sense.
Salman S — Google review

Kerameikos Archaeological Site is a significant ancient cemetery in Athens, dating back to the 9th century and used until Roman times. The site was also a hub for pottery workshops, hence its name derived from the Greek word for pottery. Visitors can explore remnants of temple columns, old tombs, marble statues, and various artifacts unearthed during the construction of the city's metro.
Very worth visiting if you have the combo ticket. The site is a ruins of an ancient pottery town, there's plenty of interesting stuff around to see. I particularly enjoyed the area that is filled with ancient tombs. There's also a museum on site that you can visit for no extra charges. It's filled with interesting artifacts that had been excavated from the site, be sure to check it out too.
Yuhng Y — Google review
A great place to visit that’s a little bit further from the Acropolis than other sites, but still easy to access and worth a look, especially if you have the combi ticket. The cemetery is lovely to walk around, while the site also contains the remains of a temple and pottery workshops. The museum is quite small, but holds many of the original stelai and sculptures of the reproductions you’ll see around the cemetery. Both the site and the museum were quite when we visited first thing in the morning, likely because it’s a bit more out the way than the other sites in Athens, but it made it a peaceful experience where we could absorb history without being shoulder-to-shoulder with other visitors. The roaming tortoises were also a bonus!
Amy M — Google review
I came here because it was included in my combo ticket I got for the Acropolis. Except for the Acropolis itself and the Ancient Agora, this is definitely the most interesting place. If you don't want to rush through it, you should allow around 2 hours.
Robert — Google review
This was the last of the 7 archeological sites we visited that were included with our ticket. It was large and unique compared to the others. I felt like it touched on different aspects of Greek history, which I appreciated. I also loved all the tortoises roaming the property (along with cats!) it felt like a bit of a scavenger hunt finding them in the tall grass! Spent about 1 hour here, but could have been longer.
Alyssa B — Google review
One of the sites included in the extended Acropolis ticket. The site includes the old Athenian walls and the cemetery outside them. Several signs point out what you are looking at, but it was also fun just wandering around the ruins. Nicely presented small museum on the site, that contains the originals of several items that have been replaced with replicas to preserve them. There's a few tortoises too - as well as the usual complement of elegant stray cats.
John W — Google review
Very nice archaeological site, there was a turtle!!!!! It was amazing to see him!!! The toilet there was clean and there was hand sanitizer outside the stall.
Emmy D — Google review
Excellent site, very enjoyable. Ancients roads, city walls, gates, tombs…. and a tortoise. Info markers here are well done and help you visualize the past prior to ruin. Tombs and grave markers are interesting. Wall construction interesting. Site also has potable water well, welcome on a blazing hot July day.
GT H — Google review
Athens has a way of dazzling visitors with its grandeur, the towering Acropolis, the bustling Plaka, and the iconic Temple of Olympian Zeus. But nestled a bit off the beaten track, the Kerameikos Archaeological Site offers a completely different kind of experience: quieter, reflective, and surprisingly alive in its own subtle way. After spending our morning exploring the Ancient Agora, my wife and I continued our Athenian journey by heading northwest towards Kerameikos. The walk itself was pleasant, framed by the kind of urban fabric that blends past and present in typical Athens fashion. There were stretches of cobbled lanes, flowering trees clinging to the edges of fences, and the occasional cat snoozing under the sun, an image you tend to collect often in Greece. As we reached the entry gate, the surroundings opened up, revealing a wide expanse of ruins, earth-toned stones, and scattered columns basking under the Mediterranean light. The name Kerameikos stems from the Greek word for pottery, and historically, this district was home to the city’s potters. But it’s more famously known for being the oldest and most significant cemetery in ancient Athens. Unlike the more frequented sites in the city, this one had a notably hushed character, with very few visitors around during our stay. Instead, we shared the place with a handful of slow-moving tortoises that seemed perfectly at home crawling amongst the grave markers and fallen stones, a curious and endearing touch that added to the serenity. We wandered along the paths tracing the Sacred Way and the Street of Tombs, admiring remnants of funerary monuments that once honoured prominent citizens of classical Athens. Some of the marble stelae were still remarkably well preserved, offering a solemn glimpse into how the Athenians memorialised their dead. One of the best parts is that you’re free to walk around most of the site at your own pace, giving you time to absorb the historical weight without feeling rushed. The on-site museum, though modest in size, is worth a visit. It houses a small but curated collection of grave stelae, sculptures, and burial offerings uncovered during excavations. Just outside, there’s a shaded area with benches, ideal for taking a short break from the sun before continuing your visit. For practical matters, admission is quite affordable at €4, but if you’re planning to visit several landmarks in Athens, the €30 multi-site ticket is a solid choice. This bundled pass covers the Acropolis, Roman Agora, Ancient Agora, Olympieion, and more, valid for five days. As for transport, you’ll find Thēseio and Kerameikos metro stations within easy walking distance, which makes getting to and from the site quite straightforward. In conclusion, Kerameikos may not command the same immediate awe as the Parthenon or the Erechtheion, but it offers something arguably more valuable to the curious traveller, a moment of stillness, a brush with Athenian mortality, and the chance to discover a side of the city not many take the time to see. It is the kind of place that lingers gently in your memory, long after you’ve left its stone paths behind.

Nestled atop the elegant Hilton Athens, Galaxy Restaurant & Bar is a must-visit for anyone seeking an exquisite dining and drinking experience. This rooftop gem offers a stunning panorama of Athens, from the iconic Acropolis to the serene Saronic Gulf. The menu features dishes crafted with fresh local ingredients that highlight vibrant flavors, making it perfect for both romantic dinners and lively gatherings with friends.
It is a hotel bar restaurant which has a spectacular and panoramic view of Athens, including the Parthenon and mount Lycabettus (and the what I like to call them favelas of Pangrati and Vyronas). The prices are not following the greek standards but I merely accept this due to the stature of this hotel. It is absolutely reasonable to presume that they want to keep a certain level of guests visiting the bar which finds me absolutely fine with it. I highly suggest it for business meetings and quiet moments overlooking the Athenian horizon. Needless to say that the service was outstanding.

Breathtaking view and nice environment. Coffee and cocktails very nice. Prices as expected for a Hilton bar but the service could be seriously improved for a bar like this.... a bit slow and a coaster was on the floor for hours and the staff just walked by it. You can see it in the picture. Nevertheless the staff was very kind and the location is so pretty one should visit in their Athenian nights out.
Assimina K — Google review
It is located on the top floor of the Hilton hotel. The 13th floor! The bar is circled through the windows and the tables are behind of it! Of course the view is great and panoramic but you have to stand up to view the city! If you sit in the outer area the view is magnificent in the first row of tables. You need to arrive early to find a table in the first row, before 21:00pm, or book in advance. The tables for dinner are separated and is advised to book in advance to avoid a table in the inner area. The prices are ridiculous high and I really can not see the reason why! There are so many nicer places in the city with similar view and much more reasonable prices. For example a simple coffee costs there 7.5E, the most expensive in the whole country if not the whole world! A drink can be as little as 14E and you can even order a bottle of champagne for 2000E! The waiters are very polite. perhaps a little more than they should! The music is really nice and relaxing but the dj's spot reminds one of a cheap night club! I can't find a reason to visit again!
