Middle Eastern restaurant
Restaurant
Feyrouz is a casual Lebanese eatery located in the Historic Centre, offering a variety of classic street foods and desserts. The family-run restaurant serves paper-thin lahmajoun topped with vegetables, nuts, and spices, as well as pide stuffed with seasonal greens and pulses. They also offer hearty soups like pumpkin, beetroot, and yogurt at affordable prices.
Trust the high score of the reviews. This place offers delicious street food and deserts. The people are very friendly and work fast. If you want to try middle eastern cuisine, dont miss it.
Silviya G — Google review
Definitely get the rice it’s very good and taste like home comfort food. The pide and lahmacun wrap were ok. Trying to be a bit different with the flavours but the bread wasn’t so soft or fluffy and a little dry so I wouldn’t say it’s the best pide I’ve had. Dessert was great though.

"I am truly touched by the kindness and hospitality of this café. Every conversation I had with them was filled with warmth, respect, and sincerity. They are not only polite and professional, but also make you feel special — like you are part of a family. A special SHNORHAKALOUTYOUN ♥️(thanks ) to the person I spoke with, who showed genuine care and such a good heart. It is a place where you feel welcomed, valued, and connected. I deeply appreciate the way they treated me, and I can honestly say it left me with a big smile and a warm feeling inside. Highly recommended from all my heart ♥️

Absolutely incredible lunch ! An exceptional culinary experience from start to finish. The staff are so lovely and attentive, and every dish is a real delight. Don’t hesitate for a second, you won’t regret it ! I highly, highly recommend this place

A while ago my friend told me that if I ever go to Athens, Greece I must go to Fayrouz Restaurant and taste their Lebanese food, It is really delicious. Finally traveled to Athens and remembered his advice so I went to Fayrouz Restaurant to taste their food. They welcomed me and asked me how I knew about this restaurant. After that, the owner of the restaurant welcomed me very warmly and she was very nice.I ordered a Sultans Nest and Peinirli Pastourma both were delicious, The restaurant was small but very nice and located in the corner of the building and the other corner is the Feyrouz Coffee Shop for the same owner, I enjoyed the food and highly recommend.

Had an amazing lunch at Feyrouz! This was my first time trying Lebanese food and wow—it was incredible. The flavors were so fresh and delicious. The staff were super friendly and helped me choose the perfect dishes. Highly recommend!

Great food. We really liked this place. Quite unique tastes. The lady at the counter could’ve been nicer though.
AK A — Google review
The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming, which makes you feel like you are in your local neighbourhood restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious. I had the best pide I’ve ever tried, made with the owner’s grandma’s recipe. They even offered me a free cup of soup, which was just as tasty. Lovely place with genuine hospitality.

Restaurant
Hoocut is a modern take on the classic Greek fast food, souvlaki. Located in Athens, this restaurant offers an artisanal spin on the traditional dish by using carefully sourced meats such as pork, chicken, lamb, and beef. They also serve a vegetarian version of souvlaki. The open kitchen resembles separate shops including a bakery for fresh pita bread, a greengrocers, a butchers shop, and a grill house.
Hoocut is a must-visit in Athens! Located in a great spot, it’s perfect for grabbing a bite while exploring the city. The menu is packed with flavorful options simple, honest Greek street food done really well. The open kitchen is a show in itself! You can watch the cooks preparing everything fresh, which adds so much to the experience. The whole team both the cooks and waitstaff are super friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. There’s also a great variety of Greek beers, which pair perfectly with the food. Whether you’re going for a classic pita or trying something new, everything is tasty and satisfying. If you’re looking for an authentic, laid-back spot with excellent food and a vibrant atmosphere!!
Sofia U — Google review
One of my favourite meals in Athens! Without the bread, the meat and salads are gluten free. Sooo delicious!! Great atmosphere on a busy street.
Emma M — Google review
A local recommended this place and we were pleasantly impressed! Food: 5/5 tasty beef and traditional pork pittas along with the tastiest, the cheese spread with dip. Service: 5:5 servers were friendly and nice Atmosphere: 5/5 nice vibe with seating inside and outside
Melanie E — Google review
It’s an open kitchen, so if you sit inside, you get to see the chefs while making your meal. The taste was amazing, we had 3 different pitas and all of them tasted amazing.🤩 Highly recommended! We’ll go there again before we fly back home because its amazing taste. The service was okay.
Cindy Y — Google review
One of the best places to taste Greek street food. They do it differently than the traditional Gyros and Souvlak places. The main thing is that their products are really tasteful. I had the pita with Mutton which i have never taste it anywhere this waybin Greece. It was really good. I am big fan of Mutton meat so I definitely recommend it. The prices are higher than other similar places but you pay the quality and how much tasteful their products are. Don’t miss it if it happens to be around.
Thanasis B — Google review
After having quite a lot of gyros in Greece, hands down one of the best I’ve had! The pita bread was so fluffy and the meat wasn’t overly salty. Also fits my personal preference of not having fries in the gyros
Rebecca — Google review
Hoocut was the first place I ate at when I arrived in Athens and also the last one before leaving! That alone says a lot. Everything was just perfect from the meat and sauces to the bread and service. The staff were super friendly, and the flavors were simply unforgettable. My only regret about Athens is not eating here every single day! Absolutely amazing place 100% recommended.
Fatih A — Google review
We stopped here for gyros (a recommendation from our food tour guide). It did not disappoint. We ordered several different gyros and they all looked delicious. I only ate the spicy pork, delicious!

If you're on the hunt for a taste of authentic Greek cuisine in Athens, look no further than Tavern Epirus. Tucked away in the vibrant Varvakeios Municipal Market, this delightful eatery is renowned for its hearty home-cooked meals that truly capture the essence of traditional flavors. While indulging in their famous offal soup might not be everyone's cup of tea, it’s an experience worth trying!
Amazing food, unbeatable beefsteak, and the perfect atmosphere. Five stars for everything I’ll be coming back for sure! 👌🥩

The service was bad. We felt ignored. The server didn't help us with the menu choices at all. We had to wait for a while after we got the menu for our drinks. We felt like we were a burden to the server. The food was ok. Not bad but not great. Just ok. I had to remind the server to for the bill twice as I was waiting on an taxi to come. Will not be eating here again. I felt like a second class citizen while I was there.

Gyro restaurant
Epirus is a historic eatery located in the bustling Varvakeios market, Athens' largest food market. It is known for its healthy tripe soup patsas and also serves chicken soup, sea bass, and beef stews. The restaurant offers a retro decor and a friendly atmosphere that fits well with the quiet Polygon area. In addition to its traditional souvlaki, Epirus provides an authentic Greek hospitality experience.
This is what Athens is all about. A local little family place with simple yet great food. When I heard the price of the gyro I was so amazed I had to leave some extra money as a tip, and immediately got a water bottle as a treat. So nice of them! Worth climbing to the top of the neighborhood😊
Ita40200 — Google review
An honest family-run business. Fresh and light souvlaki. Quality ingredients and zen vibes. Give it a try when you are around. Loved the grilled pita and the fresh tzatziki. The pork skewer is handmade and flavourful. Keep it up.
JohnTsikoudakis — Google review
I imagine that the food is good, because people still buy from this place. I have visited three times to taste the famously good souvlaki, because that is what clients??? describe here. A gyros was never available because, they explained to me they have many delivery commands! Why don’t they shutdown the joint. It has only two chairs outside and nothing inside. Three times were too many. I don’t want to taste their food anymore. Shame.
Fotis — Google review
At a pretty quiet street in the neighborhood of Gkyzi one can find this masterpiece of traditional souvlaki, experience Greek hospitality at its best and have a great talk with mister Giorgos the owner of the restaurant. One of the best gyros in Athens - noteworthy that's handmade - and at a very decent price. Hidden treasure, can't recommend enough.
Dimitris S — Google review
Local neighborhood very authentic and excellent souvlaki. This is not a fancy place and it is a little out of the way but it is so worth it. I heartily recommend it. I even got to practice my very poor Greek with the owner. He does speak fast!

Karamanlidika is a captivating culinary destination nestled in the vibrant heart of Athens, where the flavors of Greece come alive. This charming establishment beautifully blends the essence of a traditional mezedopoleio and delicatessen, specializing in artisanal cheeses and cured meats that pay homage to the rich heritage of Greeks from Turkey. Guests can indulge in an array of delightful dishes, from savory charcuterie boards to mouthwatering meze and hearty mains that celebrate regional ingredients.
We ordered three starters and meatballs for the mains. The recommendation was great. The food and drinks were unique and delicious. The dessert was yum. Quaint spot. Must try!
Victoriya A — Google review
It was pretty busy when we arrived, and we had to wait in line for a bit. A staff member eventually welcomed us and invited us in, but then disappeared into the crowd. Since no one else guided us, we assumed we could pick our own table and sat down. Just a few seconds later, another staff member approached us with a pretty rude tone, asking if the manager had told us to sit. We tried to explain, but he didn’t listen and told us to leave, which felt quite disrespectful. While we were still trying to clarify, the woman who originally welcomed us came back and asked us to follow her. She then seated us in the semi-outdoor area, and thankfully, things improved from there. The rest of the staff were really friendly and helpful. From taking our order to serving the food, they were polite and attentive. One even asked how we liked the food, which we really appreciated. The food itself was delicious, we’d give it a solid 9 out of 10. And as a nice surprise, they even gave us a complimentary dessert at the end! Overall, a rocky start, but it ended on a good note✨
Virginia J — Google review
On the way back to our hotel, we saw a long line of locals waiting outside this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be an amazing choice! The restaurant has an open kitchen and a bar that looks like a traditional butcher shop, creating a great atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Right after sitting down, we were offered complimentary ham and cheese — even though it was free, the quality was impressive. We ordered sausages, meatballs, and smoked fish appetizers. The portions were generous, and every dish was incredibly delicious. We ended up finishing everything and still felt like we wanted more. After the meal, the restaurant also served complimentary yogurt with shredded carrots for dessert, which was refreshing and surprisingly tasty. When leaving, the friendly owner personally asked about our dining experience, which made us feel truly welcomed. The only downside was that the waitress who took our order didn’t smile at all and looked rather unfriendly — probably because it was too busy. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and hospitality were excellent. Definitely worth a visit!
Li L — Google review
I visited twice - once for lunch, another time for dinner - and enjoyed both experiences. The food was well seasoned and had great flavours, and the staff were friendly. I appreciated that a server gave me a heads up that the eel dish was served cold - it was a wonderful dish, but I was glad to know what to expect. I tried the meatballs, potato salad with mustard dressing, smoked eel from Anta, and aubergines & zucchini in Cappadocian sauce. All were very good. I didn't need a reservation for a solo late lunch, but I recommend a reservation for dinner.
Katherine G — Google review
The food at this restaurant was truly excellent — delicious, well-prepared, and of high quality. However, the space itself could benefit from some gentle renovations to match the level of the cuisine. In particular, the toilets are in urgent need of immediate renovation, as their current condition takes away from the overall dining experience. With these improvements, this place could easily become outstanding.
Charalambos S — Google review
A classy place with traditional Greek music. The dolma was amazing , thick but perfectly balanced in flavor. The kavourma was also excellent, and even though the portion was quite large, my stomach handled it comfortably :) The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very friendly. Prices are quite reasonable. After the meal, they served boiled carrots with yogurt based dessert was great. I’d definitely love to come back Note: cheese and pastourmás were on the house
Sertaç G — Google review
Had to try this place, as a long line always forms outside. Small amount of seating inside so usually a wait, however we made a reservation. Food was delicious and flavorful. Nice window seat to people watch. Service was somewhat slow, I think they were short staffed. Enjoyed the fresh bread and beer selection, was able to get Non Alcoholic.
Michelle M — Google review
It’s our second time at Karamanlidika. We couldn’t stay away from the charcuterie board. The service was quick on the first service, as we had just landed in Greece from Canada earlier that day, so we preferred that. We had all the food and were out within an hour, which could feel rushed for people not looking forward to a good night's sleep. The food was well worth the little rush.

Bandiera is a highly recommended restaurant in Athens that offers reasonably priced and delicious food. The staff is known for their exceptional service, even remembering the names of returning customers' children. While reservations are recommended due to its popularity, it's possible to get a table without one. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is pleasant with air conditioning. Customers have praised the octopus dish as one of the best they've ever had, along with beautiful salads and grilled vegetables.
We absolutely loved this place!! The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was so welcoming. The owner, Andreas, walked around and was very personable with the customers. We got our food super fast and got a complementary dessert after. We felt so welcomed and highly highly recommend this place!!! Thank you Andreas and workers!

Great food served with charming hospitality. We had Greek salad which was full of fresh ingredients. Lamb roast was amazing - melted like butter in your mouth and was full of warm succulent flavours. Moussaka was the best we have ever had. Andreas was the perfect host and the restaurant has great ambience.

Easily a five star review. Great service from the proprietor himself and his staff. Great food. Great ambience. And very reasonably priced. Nice area too (Psyrri). We had the chicken souvlaki and moussaka - standard Greek dishes, but done really well here.

Best food I’ve had in Greece! One of the owners Andres was in the restaurant, we spoke to him for a bit. He was very kind, you can tell he puts a lot of love into the service and quality of the food. I highly recommend to visit this restaurant when in Athens. Plus, they end your experience with a special dessert! A spongy moist cake soaked in orange and a local spirit, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Established in 1978, the restaurant prides itself on serving classic dishes with a focus on using fresh ingredients from local sources. The owner's dedication is evident in the lush garden he planted to create an oasis within Exarchia.
BEST moussaka in the world? I don’t know for sure, but it is DELICIOUS!!! I also had the sea bream, which was excellent. Obviously not as tasty as moussaka, but certainly healthier! Absolutely charming restaurant! Fast! And excellent customer service! Highly recommend!

i’ve been in this place with my family and we loved it. there aren’t many options in terms of grilled meat and fish, but food is very tasty, the waiters are super nice and the atmosphere will make you feel like home. you’ll find plenty of traditional dishes for all tastes. highly recommended

This restaurant is cozy and serves excellent traditional Greek food — a true little gem! The portions are generous; I had the Clay Pot Baked Moussaka (they also have a vegetarian option, but I went for the classic one) and it was absolutely delicious, definitely worth trying. The Greek salad was also excellent, and for just €0.40 they served warm, delicious pita! The wine we ordered was also excellent. To finish, they offered us some ice cream — the perfect way to end the meal ❤️.

You can also find food stalls offering traditional Greek dishes like gyro, souvlaki, feta cheese, and Greek salad. Additionally, the market features restaurants serving authentic Greek mezethes at reasonable prices.
Really nice this market. It’s very organised and tidy. You may find it very interesting if you are a nuts / seafood / herbs lover, as majority of these grocery are fairly cheap. In general, it’s really a nice place to feel local Greek culture and food.

ΒΑΤΙΣΤΑΣ fish stall is the best one I have come across here at this fish market. They speak English, are very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. The produce is excellent 👌 I buy Salmon and Sea Bass from here. You can get your fish filleted and they do an excellent job too. Go here first!!! (but save some fish for me, 🙏 😉)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Authentic Market Experience in the Heart of Athens! This is an absolutely fantastic meat and fish market right in the center of Athens — a must-see for anyone who loves local culture, fresh food, and a bit of old-world atmosphere. Inside, skilled butchers are hard at work preparing beef, lamb, pork, and chicken, along with just about every other cut you can imagine. The sights, sounds, and aromas are pure Athens — lively, authentic, and full of character. The fish section is equally impressive, with rows of fresh fish, shellfish, squid, and octopus glistening on ice. You’ll see locals choosing ingredients for the day’s meal, restaurant buyers loading boxes of seafood, and shopkeepers calling out their daily specials. Just across the street, there’s an equally wonderful produce and olive market, bursting with colorful fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and local olives. The atmosphere there is just as vibrant and friendly — another spot you simply shouldn’t skip. If you want to experience everyday Athenian life and see where locals really shop, this market is the perfect place. Come hungry, bring your camera, and take your time wandering through — it’s one of those experiences that makes Athens unforgettable.

An interesting experience! The air is full of the smell of fresh (and sometimes not-so-fresh) fish. It’s noisy, crowded, and full of local energy. Definitely worth a visit for the experience!

A bustling municipal market in the Monastiraki district. Here you'll find everyday ingredients from meats, fish, produce, herbs, cookware, and more. It is a great site to visit and see the ingredients that locals use to prepare their meals. We were a bit turned off by one of the herb stores that tried to gouge us as tourists on the price of products.
Bondiamo — Google review
Typical European meat & fish market with lots of vendors selling primarily to local shoppers. Smell can challenge some primarily due to water used to wash down as well as melting ice in seafood area it is very clean Some foods or cuts I hadn't seen before including shark fins & head, as well as sheep & pig heads. Certainly not for everybody but only takes 5 minutes to do an aisle of both.

Amazing museum with a vast array of fascinating artefacts. We thoroughly enjoyed walking along the vast halls of exhibits, some dating back several thousand years. The coffee shop in the centre was a good place to rest before resuming our visit. Can recommend!

As a tourist, I cannot recommend these type of visits enough. You get to really see the local culture unfiltered from the lens of tourism. Free to visit and no one gave us any grief for just browsing.

Six D.O.G.S is a versatile cultural hub that offers live music, DJ sets, art exhibitions, and club nights alongside a cozy cafe and bar. Since its establishment in 2009, it has garnered a dedicated following. The venue hosts an array of events including Greek rap gigs, techno DJ sets, art openings, and record launches. Its laid-back atmosphere and do-it-yourself aesthetic make it an integral part of Athens' nightlife.
At first glance, the front entrance made us think the bar was closed. We hesitated, but then noticed people heading down into the bar, so we followed—and we’re glad we did! It turned out to be very lively, likely due to the weekend crowd. The entrance gave off a cool speakeasy vibe, which added to the experience. Once inside, we found it quite cozy, making it a perfect spot for a couple of local beers.

Excellent bar-restaurant in a large yard. Great cocktails and very tasty Asian food! Good atmosphere, good music. They also have a club but it was a closed evening so we didn't go in, although it was recommended.

Very large outdoor space, shaded. Was hard to get service sitting inside in a booth. Good food and excellent coffee. They have decaf coffee and almond milk. Order a Greek mountain tea. The chicken tenders were huge and very delicious.

Great place. Food is mostly Asian fusion. Good portions which taste good. Really good atmosphere, music & unique lay out. Better cocktails can be found elsewhere. Nevertheless a must visit place if you’re in Athens.

Absolutely amazing. I love that it is focused on sustainability, the interior is lovely, the little courtyard adorable. Everything we ate was good, the burger, wrap, smoothie was amazing, coffee surprisingly not so great but maybe that's just me. The staff was nice. Loved the place and coming back for sure.

Not the beeest place to come if you’re a tourist looking for authentic Greek food, but they make killer cocktails, the ambiance is amazing, and the food is great (just not suuuper Greek lol). We had the Dog, the artichoke salad, and a green smoothie and everything was very tasty. The wait staff was also very responsive and friendly.

Great place to have your coffee or lunch. There is a garden at the back with trees which makes the experience a nice quiet break, given that you are at the busiest part of Athens. This time I had lunch as well; their cuisine has a middle eastern touch so expect a plethora of spices, which might put of someone who just wants to eat chips with mayo ( my friend's teenage kid). I tried the burger and it was super delicious a bit on the spicy side. Service is a bit slow when you sit down and wish to order (no eye contact and depends on the level of professionalism of the waitress). It is also a super trendy night club with loads of live DJ acts but I personally consider it as my favourite coffee break place when downtown.
Eva T — Google review
A small, down-at-heel approach to the bar masks a trendy but relaxing bar with a huge outdoor shady garden perfect for winding away an afternoon or night. Great, chilled beats in the evening with everyone chatting and everyone having a great time and zero judgement or hassles. By the time night comes it turns into a Peter Pan-esque garden, somewhere you’d want to stay all night. Cocktails were cool and not overly expensive and the food surprisingly good.

Fine dining restaurant
Greek restaurant
Nestled in the lush garden setting under the trees of Madritis Park on Sofias Avenue, Vassilenas is a renowned restaurant with a 100-year history. Originally a popular fish tavern in Piraeus, it has evolved into a modern culinary gem in Athens. The restaurant is famous for its taramosalata and offers dishes like warm octopus salad and grilled sea bass. With a commitment to perfection, Vassilenas continues to honor family recipes while incorporating modern cooking techniques.
What a top notch service! We are two, one of whom doesn't eat fish at all when the fixed menu is only offered on NYE. Vassilenas was very considerate and kind enough to offer a special menu. All the staff are very friendly and professional. Crowds ans vibes are amazing. Highly recommended

Food is delicious, everything tasted great and was well prepared and served. The texture of the fava and tarama were the smoothest ever. The Serrano chocolate dessert was wonderful! The only taste that was not impressive was the fish kebab which I don’t recommend. The service is very good, polite and friendly, atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. Was a bit noisy but it was due to a crowded table for a company event. When they left the place proved its value for a wonderful dinner.

Fantastic experience, incredible value. We had the tasting menu - lots of classic Greek flavours but with really inventive twists. Highlights were the veal with orzo and the squid. They were very accommodating to make a few changes based on our preferences, and the wine pairings were a treat - not necessitating the wines we would have reached for but gave us a new appreciation for the variety in Greek wine.

Went for Christmas Eve dinner. Very tasty food! Attentive and friendly staff. Pricey, but expected for a multi-course Christmas Eve menu. Would love to return and try the regular menu sometime! Great wine selection.

Been there with dine athens which means we had a standard menu. The service was veeery slow.. we waited every dish for like half an hour (we were there for 1hour and a half after reservation and we had only some bread and a starter). The food was ok, everything was delicious but nothing special, the portions were vey small though. We ended up leaving the restaurant hungry and went to another place for burgers. It s too expensive for what it offers.

Fine dining at its very finest. Dropped by to grab a bite with my best friend during a special event-like offer that they had this September. We had an 8-course menu filled with extravagant delicacies, some notable ones being; a tuna tartar dish with avocado sauce and apple, a fish kebab with harissa and eggplant sauce and a perfectly cooked cod with beetroot and garlic sauce. Would positively recommend, their food is very well worth the price tag!

Honestly we were pretty excited for our last meal in Athens. My husband and I are huge foodies and we were super excited for their tasting menu. When we arrived, we couldn’t find the restaurant as there was no sign or number.. finally found the correct restaurant when a waitress from a different restaurant took pity on us and showed us where to go. Were led to a table when we came in and discovered their tasting menu was nowhere to be found. Not sure if this was a choice for them not to offer us this or if they weren’t offering it tonight, but that was a huge let down. Food was decent, sommelier tried his best, but the rest of the service felt completely cold and uncaring. Waited forever for our check with no explanation as to why it took so long after asking. Very disappointing final night in Athens. I would definitely consider looking elsewhere for your food while you’re here. I feel mislead by the other reviews. Hopefully if you decide to go here, you experience one of their “on” nights.

Simul, a modern, minimal Greek restaurant with a focus on seasonal fare, offers an elevated dining experience. The intimate setting is perfect for date night. The fresh culinary approach of chef Nikos Thomas fuses contemporary Greek cuisine with Asian and French flavors.
Simul is a true gem in Athens, offering a refined yet inviting culinary experience. The ambiance is elegant and intimate, making it an excellent choice for a special occasion or a sophisticated night out. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with creative dishes that showcase fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each plate is beautifully presented, combining flavors in a way that feels both innovative and deeply satisfying. Service at Simul is impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. The staff is passionate about the food and takes the time to explain the dishes, adding to the overall experience. If you're looking for a top-tier fine dining experience in Athens, Simul is a must-visit. The combination of exquisite food, stylish ambiance, and outstanding service makes it a restaurant worth returning to. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant , fine dining, calm exterior area with cozy atmosphere. We tried several plates all of them made with interesting approaches and qood ingredients. For the level of the prices vs overall taste experience I am not 100 % if it is truly value for money.

The female sommelier lady provides an excellent service, perhaps even too good for this place, she certainly knows how to be attentive and constantly keeps an eye on all the tables. Perfection and it really made us appreciated this evening. We have tried the degustation menu & it is a bit of hit and miss - some of the dishes were delicious (cheeks, fish, desserts, amuse bouche) and some were either plain (cauliflower, lamb) or burnt (the poor octopus was rather inedible). 🤷‍♀️ The price for the degustation menu is only 80 euros and you get extra amuse bouche and also one pre-desert. Wine pairing was around 50€, thus price point is pretty low and therefore we don’t mind we didn’t really like some of the dishes. They also are pretty good in adjusting the dishes, in case you have a gluten allergy.
S. — Google review
There’s much to enjoy about Simul. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is enjoyable. However, as a restaurant, the main question is about the food. And, unfortunately, I found the food a disappointment. Of the 6 savoury dishes featured in the tasty menu, 3 leaned acidic, if not vinegary. Not inedible, just not balanced. Further, the squid and cod dishes were slightly overcooked. Not what I expect from a restaurant with this high of reputation, rating, and price. The beef course was the most classic tasting, balanced, and strongest of the savoury dishes. The desserts were a very redeemable end. Not a bad meal, just not worth the cost in my opinion. Perhaps the a la carte is the way to go.

Another hidden gem in the city of Athens which merges Greek tradition with modern techniques. We selected the 8 course menu and it was a great experience. Every course followed a sequence which made total sense. Probably traxanas was our highlight dish of the dining.

Oyster bar restaurant
BlueFish Athens is a renowned seafood restaurant that offers a fusion of Greek and Japanese cuisines. With its emphasis on fresh catches, the restaurant's menu may be small but it offers various ways to enjoy the dishes, including sharing plates and a popular catch of the day option. The Head to Tail dinner menu is a highlight, featuring four courses based on different parts of the fish.
The name of the restaurant is Plaki Meze, and they serve delicious fresh oysters, all the food was great!

Tasty well rounded meal. Nice atmosphere in the city centre Plaka close to ancient site. Also very well decorated interior. They serve meat as well as seafood. I had missed some sauce with meat. Service could be better though. For a very very demanding customer I should say it is not anything "special" 😋

Our visit to BlueFish on the Athenian waterfront was a truly memorable culinary experience. The restaurant masterfully combines modern Mediterranean cuisine with impeccable service and a stunning seaside view. The interior is both elegant and welcoming, making it perfect for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. We sampled several dishes from the menu, including the tuna tartare, grilled octopus, and sea bass fillet — each one was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, balanced flavors. The ingredients were clearly top quality, and the attention to detail in preparation was evident. Service was exceptional — the staff was polite, knowledgeable, and attentive, guiding us through the menu and recommending excellent wine pairings based on our preferences. While the prices reflect the premium location and quality, the experience is absolutely worth it for those seeking more than just a meal — it's a refined gastronomic journey by the Aegean Sea. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

Great Restaurant in Athens. Very empathic and customer oriented service, delicious fresh made food with a small menu card. I like that stuff much better cause then you don't have a too big choice and the meals are freshly cooked and well prepared. Also the style of the interior is creative open that you can see the kitchen and how its cooked and also a warm and comfortable atmosphere where you feel very well. I would recommend very much 😊

A friend recommended this restaurant to us and we will recommend it to anyone else that visits! The staff spoke great English and were very attentive of clearing empty plates, filling up water etc (side note: it was at 10pm and there were like 4-5 more tables that were leaving shorty afterwards) The food was very tasty and very beautifully presented

I really wanted to like this place and for the most part, it was a good dining experience. Reservations were easy to make over Facebook and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. Service was pretty good overall. I was seated towards the street side and one of the waiters told me to put my camera on the inside to be safe. Sure enough, later in the dinner we saw some suspect kids that were roaming around eyeing the customers. Onto the dishes... 1) marinated anchovies/sardines was flavorful and refreshing 2) fresh fish carpaccio was light and fresh 3) fried calamari is what you'd expect, the crust was extra crispy which I liked 4) lemon tart dessert was really good, not sweet but tart, just how I like my desserts. If you're familiar with the Mexican spice, Tajin, we felt like there was a lot of that going on -- a slightly sour/spicy spice that was sprinkled over our dishes. Our issue with dinner was with the octopus dish and how it was handled. The tentacle came out and it looked great. However, after I started cutting it into smaller bite size pieces, I could tell it was really really tough. This was the tail end of our trip to multiple islands in Greece and we've had our share of octopus dishes. None were as tough as this. The group next to us ordered the same thing and had the same comments. We didn't even finish the dish and only ate the most tender parts we could get. This pushed me to say something about it to our waitress. While I expected an apology and an offer to bring out a new dish or to remove it from the bill, all she said was "oh, that's because it was grilled, it can be tough sometimes". NOT the answer we expected at all. Even if you didn't remove it from my bill, at least offer a new dish or an apology. Anyhow, there's potential here and obviously some food was worth a visit but I'm personally staying away because of the service.

CTC Urban Gastronomy, named after the Greek word for 'alimentation,' offers a blend of classic and modern gastronomy. The Michelin-starred restaurant features a modern decor with classic touches and a pleasant staff. In 2023, it maintained its one Michelin Star alongside other renowned restaurants in Athens. Chef Alexandros Tsiotinis has relocated to a new impressive space with a lovely garden, emphasizing Greek cuisine and quality raw materials.
The construction of the menu is excellent. The foods are amazing. Highly recommend to add lobster to the corn soup. It was one of the best lobster dish I ever tried. The service was exceptional. I enjoyed this dinner very much. Looking forward to visiting again.

We had our first experience eating at a Michelin-rated restaurant here in Greece. They offered an 11-course surprise menu with a wine pairing. Each course had a beautiful presentation & the tastes just all came together. Aside from the amazing dishes, the service was fantastic. Each course & wine pairing was explained. This was truly an unforgettable experience!
Maria A — Google review
We visited yesterday for our anniversary. The good: 1. Most of the courses were excellent. Great culinary experience 2. My husband had informed for his dietary restrictions in time and they had prepared really nice courses for him. 3. The music was nice. The bad: 1. The restaurant felt cold inside and we kept asking to close the door and the windows. They would, for 2 minutes and they’d reopen them again. We felt very uncomfortable with the temperature and even though they assured they’d turn up the heating they didn’t. We had to physically stand up and go shut the door ourselves multiple times. This is unacceptable for Michelin restaurants. Other people were wearing their coats because they were cold too. 2. We arrived at 07.05 and asked for the empty table at the window which we were refused. The justification was we give the table according to booking date. The people who had booked the table came at 21.40. They could have told us you may have it until 21.00 and perhaps that would be ok. Also, nowhere has it been our experience to be punished with the worst table if you book 3 days before. The manager herself had an argument with us. Even though we asked for 2 tables that both were fulfilled after 21.30. Mind you the restaurant was empty when we arrived. 3. We had written in the booking that it was our anniversary - everywhere in the world they surprise us in a way- here absolutely nothing. They didn’t even mention it. Overall even though the food was great the service didn’t justify the Michelin star distinction.

This was our first visit to a Michelin-starred restaurant, and CTC Urban Gastronomy truly delivered an unforgettable experience. The service was exceptional—professional, warm, and attentive throughout. The food was not just a meal, but a carefully curated journey of flavors and textures. The setting strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elegant, with a smart-casual vibe that feels both relaxed and refined. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, and the wine pairing was the cherry on top—perfectly matched and absolutely amazing.
Gregoris C — Google review
First - the assistant sommelier Zan was fabulous. Knowledgeable, fun personality, really helpful. We enjoyed the Greek wine flight. Other waiters were good. Second - Menu is 90% seafood. Overall the food was 30% exceptional (corn soup, squid pasta, beef & tart), 40% excellent and 30% good but a bit plain (souvlaki, dessert medley w chocolate / sponge cake / tart). Third - seating. There are about 25 tables in the outside courtyard. When we arrived all were empty, except one table had 2 guests. They sat us next to that table. And those two tables were positioned really close together - more than any others in the entire restaurant. * The first hour of service, there were only three tables with guests in the entire restaurant. The second hour two more tables were seated. It wasn't busy at all. Therefore I was left puzzled. Why?? Why?? Why when there's so much available space, sit us next to other people, especially this woman who was so loud and irritating. I asked them to move us before service started and the hostess acted like it was a strange request. That was a very disappointing start to the dinner. Part of fine dining is the overall dining experience. It left me shaking my head with wonder....a rookie mistake you would expect from a sidewalk cafe. So they lose a star for that.
Kimmy K — Google review
We had our first Michelin-star experience at CTC Urban Gastronomy in Athens, and it was truly memorable. The tasting menu took us on a beautifully curated journey — the flavors were unexpected in the best way, carefully balanced, and executed with precision. Every dish brought something new, and the plating was like art. Service was professional yet warm, striking that perfect balance between luxury and friendliness. The team made us feel welcome and informed without being overly formal. Each wine pairing enhanced the dish without overpowering it. There were two points that slightly took away from the otherwise impeccable evening: 1. The aperitif recommended before the meal felt unnecessary and disconnected from the menu. It came across as an upselling tactic, which slightly broke the magic of an otherwise thoughtful dining experience. 2. We were charged for a bottle of sparkling water we never ordered. It was a small amount (€6), and we didn’t bring it up to avoid awkwardness at the end of the evening, but at this level of dining, such things should not happen. Aside from that, the experience was well worth it. The team clearly works with passion and skill. It’s a place I’d recommend to anyone looking to celebrate something special or just indulge in culinary artistry.

Simply put, this is one of the top 3 fine dining restaurants in Greece. The service was excellent, the staff was very friendly and accommodating to our every need. The atmosphere is simply stunning (you can’t help but imagine how it would feel to live in this house and not just eat in its yard). The indoor area also seems very nice, but it seems it is mostly reserved for cold or rainy days. The corn soup (with lobster) and the langoustine welcome dish were to die for and brilliant presentation and flavour wise.

for a Michelin star restaurant there were a lot of hits and miss. it was overall very cute, but the flavours for the menu were more or less simple. if compared to Soil or Delta, it was neither so much amazing flavours, not techniques. The polenta course looked cool, was super plain. the souvlaki was grrat as concept, but the execution of the “meat” was lacking the meatiness. overall ok, for 185€. worth trying once.

Tuk Tuk Thai Street Food offers a vibrant dining experience with an open kitchen and cozy seating. The restaurant captures the lively atmosphere of an Asian hawkers market, where diners can witness chefs crafting delicious dishes. The menu features a diverse selection of Thai-inspired plates and mains, providing a tantalizing exploration of the country's cuisine. From savory appetizers like Karibap Gai to fresh Po Pia Sot rolls, each dish showcases the richness of Thai flavors.
I had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant, where the atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, even at 11 PM, with plenty of fellow diners enjoying their meals. The menu offered a delightful range of authentic Thai dishes that truly captured the essence of the cuisine. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, making it a feast for both the eyes and palate. It's impressive to see such a lively crowd enjoying a late-night meal, which speaks volumes about the popularity and quality of this establishment.

The food was exceptional (very tasty, huge portions, good price). The service was alright, but the star of the show was really the food. Not that many place to sit, so it’s very possible there could be a long waiting time.

Tuk Tuk Thai Food in Athens is a little gem if you’re craving authentic Thai flavors. The menu isn’t huge, but every dish feels carefully made, bursting with spice and freshness. The pad thai and curry are standouts, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. The vibe is casual and cozy, perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends. It can get busy, so expect a bit of a wait, but the food is worth it. Overall, a great spot for a tasty, no-frills Thai food experience in the heart of the city.

First time trying the place and absolutely loved it ! Parked infront there were lot of people in the street waiting for tables - went today Tuesday 9/9 10 pm place is small and packed and ppl queuing up for tables and take away … waited for 30 mins or so for a table and was worth it ! Love the vibes and decor and open kitchen, everything cooked fresh … Tried the shrimp dumplings so good - red duck curry was pretty tasty - the drunken noodles with pork and that tasted so good love the ginger and spice … if you love spicy food some of the menu items are very spice satisfying ! Waiters were fun quick and pretty friendly ( the older guy with glasses , the short girl n short hair, & the tall Greek guy with tattoos and long hair ) all lovely ! Another spot added to my fav in Athens 🔥👌

After 8 days of eating pita’s and slovaki my palette was yearning for something new. In Corfu we dipped into an Asian place but the curry was awful. So on my last day in Athens I prayed this place lived up to my curry standards. First the place is cute. The music is fire up in there too. I saw a couple asians cooking and thought ok it has to be authentic. Well I ordered the massaman curry and it was SO GOOD! I felt like I was eating Thai back home in Chicago where Thai restaurants come a dime a dozen. We also ordered the chicken dish and the chicken was so soft and it came with sticky rice (pictured). This place hands down is authentic and that is the key when you are eating Thai. People can mess up Thai curry but this place the curry is exactly as it should be. I would recommend this place over and over and over again. Do not hesitate or think about just b line straight there and you won’t be disappointed, but you might have to wait it’s not very big but to me it’s perfect as it is!

The flavors were spectacular (lovers of that cuisine here).. We ordered: Tom Ka Khai chicken soup - Kio Dot Won Ton fried pork dumplings- Pad Thai chicken- Pad Ped Naman Hoi Stir Fry duck & 2 beers Blame the sun. The soup was out of this world, we ate every little piece of it, the dumplings were tasty with the perfect crispness, pad thai was okay and the duck super flavory and generally all the portions were big enough. The space is far too small for so many people, with even smaller tables, making it difficult to eat peacefully with no stress. We had all those things on the table and we had to eat quickly so that we will have space for the rest coming. Plus having the fear that the waiters passing quickly next to us, will spill our food or drinks. Have in mind that they don't accept reservations, so be prepared for waiting list. Service was kind and food quickly prepared. Overall was a nice experience.

Greek restaurant
Salero, located in the heart of Athens, combines a 1930s Bauhaus exterior with an interior that channels the aesthetic of a Pedro Almodovar film. This Greco-Spanish haven is a popular spot that caters to Athenian theatre actors looking for a place to unwind after their performances. Notably, Salero remains open until late, with the kitchen sometimes closing after 2am.
The location may not be very easy for tourists , it is known by locals mostly. It’s a cosy restaurant with very delicious dishes. The service is very good. We like all the dishes we ordered
Gül K — Google review
Everything about Salero we loved from their story to their food. Inside a 1930s old Bauhaus building, it’s beautifully decorated with plants and colors that pop. Conveniently, there’s Wi-Fi and outlets near tables. Clean restrooms are on the second floor where there’s more seating. The food is really good and the portions are very big so plan accordingly. When you sit down, your server brings you their regular menu, their daily specials list, cold water, and warm bread. To feee four of us, we ordered the fried mushrooms, zucchini pie, kale salad, gigante beans, and salmon. We left with bellies full and leftovers. Every dish was tasty! Their house wine is excellent and comes with a generous portion. The peach sangria was sweet just how I like it. Service was excellent- the best we’ve had in Athens. Our server was confident, efficient, an and helpful.

I found this restaurant a few hours before I flew back to London. What a perfect end to an amazing long weekend in Athens! The Carbonara was amazing, and if I had been in Athens longer, I would have gone back. Although I am a wheelchair user, I ate outside so can not comment on accessibility...

Don't let the empty front deceive you, they have a huge covered/cooled terrace at the back where most people eat. The food was great, really good flavours and variety with huge, tasty portion sizes. Great value and the house wine was really good (especially for the price). The surrounding neighborhood is definitely worth an explore, so many great bars and restaurants to choose from!

Very friendly English speaking staff, delicious food. Was difficult to choose. Appetizer: The staff recommended the prawns with almond and spice-sweet Asian sauce and it was very good indeed. The main course: local carbonara with home-made pasta end small pieces of pork with on top cheese and an egg, sunny side up, was also very good! I can also recommend the pork with French fries. For all dishes not much vegetables, but we could have ordered a salad on the side. Very nice garden seats in the back.

Good Mediterranean dishes in interesting surroundings. The back yard is air conditioned.

We had a nice evening at Salero. The drink menu was varied and unique. We had some craft beers. For food we decided to order a lot of starters and try a bit of everything. The food was good, with distinct flavors and creativity. The mushrooms were our favorite dish. Prices are fair and the service was friendly

Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Ano Petralona, Chez Lucien is a delightful French bistro that transports you straight to Paris with its authentic cuisine. The ambiance is warm and inviting, adorned with touches reminiscent of classic French dining. A standout dish here is the iconic French onion soup, topped with a cheesy crust and croutons—an absolute must-try for any food lover.
this little bistrot in petralona is an embassy of french bistrot style in athens. the food often has a nice twist (e.g. tomato confit with the foie gras). main courses are on the bigger side so make sure you come hungry.

The best affordable little French restaurant in Athens, we’ve gone back more than 3 times 🥖 The onion soup is my fave
Nis S — Google review
Two families of four… We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The food was exceptional — the entrecôte for the kids (four of them!) was perfectly cooked and a real highlight. The dishes for the adults were equally impressive, each one bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, offering excellent choices to suit every taste. Overall, this is easily one of the best French restaurants in Athens — a perfect spot for a memorable meal with family or friends.

On a cool September night, a colleague and I had dinner at Chez Lucien. It as incredible!!! Rich onion soup, warm French bread, perfectly seasoned chicken and scalloped potatoes were served with a friendly attentiveness. If this restaurant were in Miami, I would be there once a week.

Nice little French bistrot in a charming Athenian neighborhood. Nice interior and nice side walk setting to enjoy your dinner Friendly atmosphere, excellent service and great flavors. Perfect French baguette & herbed butter on start. Delicious onion soup, tasty salade Chevre Chaud, the duck equally tasty and excellent entrecôte with fries Nice Crème Brûlée Very nice french wines at reasonable prices French music at the right volume so you can have a conversation Limited seating so you must book in advance

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Athens. The food was very tasty, our favorite was the entrecôte. the service was very good as well, our waitress was very helpful and smiling the whole time. The prices are very fair. The restaurant is located in a very nice area. Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again.

I had a lovely evening at this authentic French bistro. The food was delicious, the wine was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting — the kind of place where you want to linger and enjoy good conversation. I’m looking forward to coming back!
Cody N — Google review
We were introduced to the Petit bistro by a food critic. The atmosphere was nice, Christmas spirit as it should be these days. The wine list is decent. The terine was fine accompanied by a fresh green salad with a marvelous sauce. So was the bread. The onion soup was ok although we would expect it a little thicker. The tartar was tasteful with the same green salad as side dish. The Entrecote sauce cafe de Paris that followed was a disaster! Although the meat was correctly prepared the sauce was red(?) dripping transparent orange grease! The sauce ingredients were visible but nothing to do with the original. And as if this was not enough the pomes frittes were burnt! The kind lady offered to replace them with new ones which were indeed ok. I cannot imagine how a chef jeopardizes his own and the restaurant's reputation by sending these dishes! Please visit one the french restaurants either in the back of the American embassy or near the Kitsiki Park to taste the relevant. The creme brulee was excellent! The bill was fair!

Nestled in a vibrant, up-and-coming neighborhood of Athens, Blue Bamboo is a delightful gem for those seeking an authentic Thai dining experience. The open kitchen allows diners to witness the skilled chef crafting mouthwatering dishes that are beautifully marked by their spice levels. While the space may be cozy and sometimes draws a crowd, the exceptional food and friendly service make it well worth any wait.
A gem in Athens. Great Thai food. The red curry was delicious as were the cheese wontons. My wife had the pad Thai and enjoyed that as well. They have a very nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend checking them out.

This is a family run restaurant and the ambience, food, and services are amazing. The best Thai food I ever had. The red curry is so creamy and thick. The prawn and crab cheese fried dumplings is awesome, pineapple fried rice has a good twist of yellow curry, I can go on and on. If you are in Athens, you should try this place.

An amazing Thai restaurant in Athens. It was located in my friend's neighbourhood. She took me there to try it out after her shift. It's 12 minutes walking distance from gazi square. We tried the Singapore noodles with chicken, which was super delicious. Also the Chinese beer was tasty. The prices were good for what we got and the restaurant was very chilled. If you want somewhere a bit away from the centre then this place is worth it.

Vietnamese restaurant
Located in the Historic Centre of Athens, Madame Phú Man Chú is a new addition to the street food scene. The restaurant offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes such as mustard leaf rolls with prawns, smoked pork and rice noodles, lemongrass-marinated chicken skewers, tomato soup with mussels, and fried tofu with sweet chili sauce. The eatery is situated on a paved street next to a Byzantine church and is named after an elderly neighbor who resides upstairs.
Madame Phú Man Chú comes with a limited but excellently executed menu. Each dish is a burst of flavor, so much so that the temptation to overeat is very real. The staff is speedy, attentive, very friendly and accommodating. The space is small and cozy and the food comes at larger than expected portions. Overall, very good value for money option in the heart of Athens.
Kalliope T — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Everything was freshly made and authentic. We particularly liked the Bun Cha and the Caramel Pork with Pineapple but the other dishes were awesome as well. Definitely worthy of being ranked as one of the top 100 hidden gems of Athens. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. All in all, a fantastic Vietnamese dining experience in a city you’d least expect it! Check it out!

Truly delicious authentic Vietnamese food, in a very nice place in the centre of Athens! The menu was really great, many daily dishes to choose from and the staff was really friendly. Overall I would really recommend it, great place!
Kimonas K — Google review
As a Vietnamese, i dont see the point of trying Vietnamese food outside Vietnam, since I know that it’s not comparable! But this time in Athens was an exception. The design and decoration is very detail, giving a real vibe of Vietnam. The service was good. The food has the authentic taste. The restaurant’s location in Athens, somehow really replicate that feeling when you’re in the central district of Saigon! In conclusion, my recommendation for an alternative dishes with all the souvlaki, saganaki or moussakas
Quang T — Google review
Tasty Vietnamese food in the heart of Athens. Unfortunately the cleanliness could certainly be improved. Menus were grimey and staff were coughing into their hands (not ideal given the current climate!). The atmosphere was great.
Megan D — Google review
Response to owner: Dear team, let me start by thanking you for your reply. I never doubted the chef’s experience but please do not doubt what I saw. I am 100% certain that the noodles were treated with bare hands. Either way, I just wanted to bring this up to your attention! We visited the restaurant on September 3rd, 2022, a party of two people. We tried: 1) Summer rolls: Nice plate coming with a delicious sauce 2) Pho beef: Very fragrant and tasty 3) Duck curry: Also a tasty dish 4) Pork caramel: Tasty but too fatty for my taste I am deducting two stars because I saw the cook in the kitchen (not the owner) to grab the noodles with his bare hand and add them into the Pho. In my opinion and in Covid times this is simply not acceptable and management should look into this.
Dimitris B — Google review
Madame Phú Man Chú offers one of the most original Vietnamese cuisine tastes I have experienced in Greece. Since the cook is a Vietnamese woman, she has transformed a small restaurant in the middle of Athens into an unparallel Vietnamese experience. The only "issue" pointed out to me, which is only a culinary preference though, was the extensive cilantro use (which is common to all southern Asia cuisines). Overall it's a uniquely original Vietnamese restaurant.
Themistoklis T — Google review
Nice Vietnamese restaurant with tasty food. Glass noodles and chicken skewers were a delight. Fried rice was tasty but had a lot of thickly chopped coriander. Summer rolls were disappointing. Service was ok, atmosphere was nice, the music was kind weird (jumping from greek to asian to michael jackson all at a time). Food prices are good, Should have more and better wine and beer options.

Great Vietnamese food. Enjoy the appetizers such as nem, banh cuon and banh xeo. Been here several times, reservations are recommended on weekends. Great service, I forgot my scarf here and they kept it and remembered me on my next visit to return it to me. A real Vietnamese place to be. Don’t expect anything fancy regarding decoration etc.. but trust me you will be gagging when you dive into the menu. Very good options on the menu for both , Vietnamese cuisine and some Chinese versions. Vietnamese rolls are way too yummy perhaps the best in town. I would definitely recommend the Peking duck along with their traditional rise wraps!!! The portions are huge and the prices very reasonable. Staff and management extremely friendly. You defo get the feeling that they’ve been cooking for their own house which is very overwhelming . I’ve been there again and again and was never disappointed!!!!!!!!!

Akra is a restaurant in Athens owned by two chefs, Yiannis Loukakis and Spyros Pediaditakis. The cuisine is simple and focuses on high-quality ingredients. The menu includes mostly plant-based dishes with a unique concept. The atmosphere of the restaurant gives off a homely feeling, although some seating areas may be affected by wind. Customers have praised the delicious desserts and meals, as well as the selection of Greek wines.
I had a fantastic dining experience at Akra in Athens. The food was really good from start to finish. The bonita fish was perfectly balanced and beautifully cooked, showcasing real precision and flavor. The dessert was a wonderful surprise—light, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the meal. A truly memorable Michelin-star experience.

Cute little place for a dinner. The menu changes daily and the restaurant utilizes Greek ingredients well. I enjoyed the raw tuna and the The restaurant is a bit noisy so it’s not the best place to talk, and the service is average. Overall the food is quite delicious and the price is fine. (We paid 80 euros for two)
Marie K — Google review
I'm writing the review because I want restaurant to know that they have really good quality of foods, but not the service. I and my partner had terrible service from our server, a lady with very short hair. Firstly we ordered a bread which was really tasty, however, our appetizer came after 30 min later we got the bread somehow. Even tho restaurant was not having rush time. I had some bread left on the table because I wanted to have it with our main, but we figured that we have to finish the bread otherwise we couldn't move to next course. Also, I asked a side of butter for bread, but the server told us that the butter is for shrimp dishes, not for the bread. like seriously. I don't mind paying extra for butter, but she basically refused to give us butter. She brought us a butter somehow after 15min later, but obviously too late. I gave up and had rest of bread. Every foods we had was amazing, especially the dessert, milk tart, was incredible. Wine was tasty. everything was perfect, but the service she gave us ruined our night. I want the restaurant to take this issue seriously and improve their service more. I'm sure our server didn't know how to serve, and they should have experienced sever. Again, foods was delicious. I just feel bad for chefs who are doing amazing job.

Modern Greek food with an open-plan kitchen and a vibrant atmosphere. Excellent wine selection, including my favorite Greek vineyard, Ligas. Sommelier Eleni was warm and engaging, though the rest of the staff were rather indifferent, and the chefs seemed disengaged, avoiding eye contact. If you have an open kitchen, engage more—otherwise, better to keep it closed. Loved the menu, despite the rooster with potatoes .. keep tradition … though the potatoes themselves were absolutely divine! The menu changes daily.
Tristan M — Google review
First thing first: We don't understand why a place like this has just a rating of 4.2 ?! From the moment we sat down, it felt like being back in our mum’s kitchen — you know, that cozy feeling where you just sit, talk, and watch her work her magic right next to you. Only this time, “mum” happens to be an entire team of talented chefs cooking around you, their stations forming a circle of delicious chaos and heavenly smells. The concept is brilliant: you’re literally part of the kitchen. Pans are sizzling, people are laughing, and somehow everything runs as smoothly as a Swiss watch — if a Swiss watch could smile and pour you wine. The staff are beautiful souls, full of warmth, quick with great suggestions, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can see it in their eyes — and in the way they make sure every plate lands with a little love. The menu changes daily, featuring homy Greek soul food that tastes like it came straight from someone’s childhood memories. Every bite has that “made-with-care” feeling, and every course makes you wish you could stay just a little longer. And then — the final touch that made our hearts melt — we each received a fresh loaf of bread to take home for breakfast, plus traditional Greek coffee biscuits (which, full disclosure, didn’t survive the night). We absolutely loved it. If we lived in Athens, we’d be here at least once a week — if not more!!!
Mirko G — Google review
The experience was nothing short of extraordinary. It’s more than a simple « open kitchen » concept: you literally sit in the kitchen, between the grill and the ovens, watching the cooks, waiters and sommelier working in perfect harmony. Then, there’s the food. Locally sourced, full of surprises. The bread is out of this world, the cod tartar was surprising with its delicate ajo blanco sauce, and the grilled vegetables are a delight. Then came the grilled rooster breast served with what they call a tomato-spicy sauce that is in fact the most delicate and complex bbq sauce you will ever taste. We were fortunate to have Sokol as a sommelier. A short discussion allowed us to agree on the overall pace and wishes and we gave him full control of the wine selection, by the glass, paired with each service, including a mid meal pause over a beautiful glass of orange wine. Needless to say all wines are bio and from Greece. Mind blowing. While I don’t have a sweet tooth, dessert won me over. The absolute best « milk tart » (somewhere between a cheese cake and a flan) that was finished with a torch. If you are in Athens, do not miss this. And make reservations ahead of time.
Eric S — Google review
I’m really surprised by all negative reviews because this was one of the best dining experiences we had. We initially came for a glass of natural wine, ended up staying for a bottle, dinner, dessert and dessert wine! Staff works extremely hard, new menu everyday, bakery during the day and dining at the evening. Our server was super friendly, welcoming, kind and generous. Sommelier also helped us out with wine which was delicious. Service may not be the fastest but honestly we had such a great time and delicious food, it didn’t matter at all. We came back next day for the bakery and that also did not disappoint. Thank you so much team Akra, we’ll be back!
Preloved B — Google review
I have visited this particular place five or six times; it is an ideal spot for a business lunch and quality food, with some dishes made from organic ingredients, wonderful bread from the Mavragani variety, and desserts like poetry that accompany a good espresso, the only negative aspect is the slow service, worth the wait though.

The food was tasty generally but it took a long time for the main dishes to arrive, and our mixed grill (meat dish) smelt of fish due to the meat having been grilled where they grill the fish.. we politely pointed out to the waitress who apologised. In the end they offered some raki which we didn’t want but we found it disappointing that they didn’t instead take the dish off the bill or something as a gesture of goodwill. A bit disappointing for a restaurant that had a nice atmosphere and menu.

Let's begin by admiting that the place is cozy and warm and the whole setup says a lot about the good taste of whoever designed it initially. It might also be a nice and lively place at night, I do not know about it. All I know is we tried to eat something eatable in the afternoon of Christmas Eve and to our amazement we found a very small in terms of variety catalog with extremely high prices and as for the taste... well it might be something for nouvelle cuisine connoisseurs but for regular people it might be the worst food I had in the last couple of decades. So, my advice... be very careful regarding food in this place.

Klimataria is a historic establishment with a charming ambiance, featuring red-check tablecloths and decorative wine barrels. Since the 1920s, it has been known for its herby lamb and sweet stuffed peppers roasted in an old brick-built oven. The restaurant attracts both locals and tourists who enjoy sharing plates and carafes of house wine. On Sundays, guests can experience Greek dancing and music for a small extra charge.
Never fails to satisfy. I've visited the place on several occasions and it has always been a satisfactory experience. Everything I have tried was tasty and well cooked and the portions are generous. The staff is polite and quick. Normally one sits outside where the apace is rather ample and the traffic is low. Especially in the summer is very nice. There are tables inside but the atmosphere is not as pleasant.

Absolutely finger-licking good chicken place! Super nice staff, amazing chicken, great salad and really fluffy rice. Also, they have TRUFFLE and ROSEMARY popcorn that blew my mind.
