It was pretty busy when we arrived, and we had to wait in line for a bit. A staff member eventually welcomed us and invited us in, but then disappeared into the crowd. Since no one else guided us, we assumed we could pick our own table and sat down. Just a few seconds later, another staff member approached us with a pretty rude tone, asking if the manager had told us to sit. We tried to explain, but he didn’t listen and told us to leave, which felt quite disrespectful. While we were still trying to clarify, the woman who originally welcomed us came back and asked us to follow her. She then seated us in the semi-outdoor area, and thankfully, things improved from there. The rest of the staff were really friendly and helpful. From taking our order to serving the food, they were polite and attentive. One even asked how we liked the food, which we really appreciated. The food itself was delicious, we’d give it a solid 9 out of 10. And as a nice surprise, they even gave us a complimentary dessert at the end! Overall, a rocky start, but it ended on a good note✨

On the way back to our hotel, we saw a long line of locals waiting outside this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be an amazing choice! The restaurant has an open kitchen and a bar that looks like a traditional butcher shop, creating a great atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Right after sitting down, we were offered complimentary ham and cheese — even though it was free, the quality was impressive. We ordered sausages, meatballs, and smoked fish appetizers. The portions were generous, and every dish was incredibly delicious. We ended up finishing everything and still felt like we wanted more. After the meal, the restaurant also served complimentary yogurt with shredded carrots for dessert, which was refreshing and surprisingly tasty. When leaving, the friendly owner personally asked about our dining experience, which made us feel truly welcomed. The only downside was that the waitress who took our order didn’t smile at all and looked rather unfriendly — probably because it was too busy. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and hospitality were excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

I visited twice - once for lunch, another time for dinner - and enjoyed both experiences. The food was well seasoned and had great flavours, and the staff were friendly. I appreciated that a server gave me a heads up that the eel dish was served cold - it was a wonderful dish, but I was glad to know what to expect. I tried the meatballs, potato salad with mustard dressing, smoked eel from Anta, and aubergines & zucchini in Cappadocian sauce. All were very good. I didn't need a reservation for a solo late lunch, but I recommend a reservation for dinner.

The food at this restaurant was truly excellent — delicious, well-prepared, and of high quality. However, the space itself could benefit from some gentle renovations to match the level of the cuisine. In particular, the toilets are in urgent need of immediate renovation, as their current condition takes away from the overall dining experience. With these improvements, this place could easily become outstanding.

A classy place with traditional Greek music. The dolma was amazing , thick but perfectly balanced in flavor. The kavourma was also excellent, and even though the portion was quite large, my stomach handled it comfortably :) The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very friendly. Prices are quite reasonable. After the meal, they served boiled carrots with yogurt based dessert was great. I’d definitely love to come back Note: cheese and pastourmás were on the house

Had to try this place, as a long line always forms outside. Small amount of seating inside so usually a wait, however we made a reservation. Food was delicious and flavorful. Nice window seat to people watch. Service was somewhat slow, I think they were short staffed. Enjoyed the fresh bread and beer selection, was able to get Non Alcoholic.

It’s our second time at Karamanlidika. We couldn’t stay away from the charcuterie board. The service was quick on the first service, as we had just landed in Greece from Canada earlier that day, so we preferred that. We had all the food and were out within an hour, which could feel rushed for people not looking forward to a good night's sleep. The food was well worth the little rush.

Most of the food was good. However, the presentation and service were very poor. They didn't change the plates or remove the forks at all; by the end, I had about 8 forks and spoons piled up on the table. Four different waiters served the table, and in the end, they insisted on a 20% tip, which would have amounted to €24 of the bill. So, you end up feeling awkward choosing a 0% tip, even though it's not mandatory. I can say that crab dish and bread were especially good, but overall nothing exceptional.

I went to this restaurant after a long day, without a reservation. They offered me a seat at the bar and recommended a couple of dishes. The menu was small, with interesting fusion style options. It’s a small restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food came quickly and was excellent. The flavors worked really well together and I really enjoyed both dishes. Definitely a place I would recommend. Great food, friendly service and reasonably priced.

I had a beautiful lunch experience at Nolan. Everyone is smiley and with a nice and well educated manners also willing to explain something about the restaurant. I enjoyed the good vibes, young chill and cool which are also reflected in the beautiful and very careful but unexpected and interesting combination of ingredients. It really worths a try. ❣️

It was a great experience all around. The concept of sharing food with a Greek/Asian fusian is great. Every round of food was incredible, and the recommendations the staff gave were on point. An amazing dinner I could recommend everybody!

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Nolan. The dishes are medium size tapas style and the quality was excellent. We tried the Green Beans Salad, the kushiyaki sea bass, cod tempura, angus beef and duck. Every dish was tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

Good dishes: Tempura cod, bread So-so to bad: inside skirt is too salty, chicken thigh is nothing special, pilmeni is just like Asian dumplings with some fancy topping. Service is absolutely not Michelin standard- Not attentive to refill water, pace for dishes are very odd. First three came out fast, last two were very slow. Atmosphere is good but I probably will not recommend to any of my friends who visits Athens.

Very nice place, on the higher end, with small plates. Nice service and atmosphere. Food was very good , definitely recommend the sea bream tartare. However the cod with the wasabi mayo was a bit salty, and the smashed cucumber salad more sour than we would like. Overall very good, but a bit too expensive for the food offered.

I liked the cultural experience. I read different things about the staff but we had an amazing experience. They were nice and appreciative . It’s only the owner/chef and the helper. You go downstairs, they give you a table, and you wait. They give you food , whatever they make that day. No menus, no options, none of that. Just like a homemade place in which grandpa cooks and you eat what you get. It felt culturally amazing. Simple, and nice. The price is set (15euros a person) including wine and all the food. This was one of the best dining experiences we had in Athens. There is a set menu and it’s delicious! Best garbanzo soup I’ve ever had! Everything was so good! The atmosphere feels authentic in a basement with large wine barrels and only a few tables. The chef is an old man cooking in the corner on a tiny stove and grill. Very reasonably priced, especially for the quality and touristy location. Highly recommend!

Was trying for years to visit the place but because we were a large group it was not possible until today. The wait definitely paid off. It's a place run by an 80 year old owner since he was 13!!! The place hosted famous people and not so famous for years. It's a hidden jewel in a nobble basement. The choices are limited but every plate is full of taste and tradition. Tables are limited and if you are lucky enough to find one seize the chance.

A tasty chickpea stew with bread and a glass of wine for €9. No compliants there. I suspect this place is not for most visitors or even locals. The rustic feel is certainly interesting, but it is not a restaurant in the normal sense of the word. no menu, 1 serving of stew is not enough for a lunch, etc etc. Having said that, I don't mind going there again to try whatever the old guy cooks on that day, and I'll then head to the central market nearby to have some seafood ...

Diporto was a unique and memorable stop during my time in Athens. Hidden underground in a graffiti-covered neighborhood, it feels like stepping into an old, authentic Athenian kitchen — no menus, no fancy presentation, just a true local experience. The place has a warm, homey vibe, and the simplicity of it all makes it stand out. They don’t offer many options, but that’s part of the charm — you get what’s cooking that day, and it’s all fresh and traditional. It was actually refreshing to take a break from the usual gyros and heavy, oily dishes you find everywhere else. The food was simple but good, with that homemade taste you can’t fake. It’s a bit on the pricey side considering how modest the setup is, but the experience and atmosphere make it worth a visit. Definitely a spot for those who appreciate authenticity and old-school dining.

I’ve had this placed pinned to go for years and finally made it! I love how discreet it is, the cozy and family run feel. No menu, just what the sweetest papou has cooked up for the day and it was DELICIOUSLY rustic, home style cooking for the soul served along with their own wine.

We chose this restaurant because it is Michelin recommended and has a view of the Acropolis, so we were quite excited. For starters, we ordered the marinated octopus and the fresh blue crab salad. For mains, we had the spicy tuna, chicken, and twelve hour braised pork. Both starters were delicious, especially the blue crab salad. It had an Asian-inspired flavour, the crab meat was generous, and the seasoning was just right — not too heavy, which made it a perfect appetizer. The octopus was also very tasty and not chewy at all. Among the three mains, the chicken was the best. It was tender and the potatoes served with it were cooked in olive oil and very flavourful. The spicy tuna was really spicy, which is rare in Western cuisine, so if you enjoy spicy food you will love it. The weakest dish was the braised pork — it tasted like meat that had been boiled for soup, not appetizing at all. The best part of the experience was definitely the view. We had a corner table with a direct view of the Acropolis, which was a lovely surprise. It was a great spot for photos too.

Had a very good dinner on the rooftop with spectacular views. The staff was overwhelmed by a large dinner party that was near us that affected their level of service it seemed, but we were in no rush. It is pricier than other places in Athens. Still with the views and atmosphere and some pretty good food, this place is worth it for a special meal. Book ahead if you want optimal terrace seating with views.

Highly recommend the rooftop as a must do! The best view from the roof terrace of the acropolis, temple of Hephaestus and the ancient agora. Book in advance! We enjoyed the Greek salad, feta cheese dumplings, black cod and pork tenderloin. The service is wonderful.

The food was splendid. It is a modern Greek restaurant. It seems to be modern takes on traditional Greek food. Their Greek Salad has crumbled feta, not a block of feta in the more traditional style. The salad contained croutons that I think were from a rye olive bread, they were lovely on their own and a load from an artisan bakery in the UK would probably cost £10. I had the olive fed chicken which was lovely with a lovely crisp Greek white wine. I had proper Greek Coffee. I am travelling alone and ultimately I found what I really wanted 2 doors down, informality, live music, beer and dolmades.

We got seating at a table up on the rooftop with a nice view of the Acropolis. Appetizers and meals were all freshly prepared and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. This place was recommended by our driver and it certainly did not disappoint.

Kuzina is definitely worth all the money!! We were 5 of us and we were celebrating the 40th anniversary of our parents. Our parents wanted a dinner with a view and everyone had recommended Kuzina. The view, stunning. The atmosphere, calm. The food, UNREAL!! We had a great spread from the appetizers to the main course. For our apps, we had the Blue Crab Salad, Greek Salad, Sea Bass and one more dish that I can’t seem to remember the name but it was cheese balls. For our mains, we had the Tenderloin of Lamb, Spicy Tuna and Pork. Everything is delicious and our server was a delight. When we come back to Greece, we will definitely come back to Kuzina!

I recently dined at this Michelin-starred restaurant and overall had a good experience. The atmosphere struck a nice balance of elegant yet relaxed, and dining outdoors added a special touch that made the evening enjoyable. The food was truly the highlight. The Pollock was my favorite dish of the evening, perfectly executed and full of flavor. I also really appreciated the amuse-bouche, which set a wonderful tone even before the bread was served. Across the menu, dishes were consistently well-crafted and made the price feel justified — the culinary side of the experience was excellent. Where the restaurant fell short was in the service. While the staff was approachable and discreet, they provided very little information about the dishes or the wine pairings. At times it almost felt as if they weren’t familiar with what they were serving, which was a bit disappointing for a restaurant at this level. The pacing of the meal, was well managed, but can’t believe we were sharing our ice bucket with two more tables 😨 When we arrived, the table and plates had some debris from the trees I think the service could be improved to match the high standard set by the kitchen. A little more engagement and knowledge from the staff would elevate the entire experience.

My experience at Spondi was mixed. Let’s start with the setting: for a high-end restaurant, the ambiance felt rather average. Small, classic tables, nothing extraordinary, nothing that really immerses you. It’s worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, but let’s say it’s not a deal-breaker. After all, I came for the food, not for Instagram-style décor. Still, it’s worth mentioning. Now, on to the cuisine. The beginning was excellent: the amuse-bouche of wagyu beef and arugula cigar was incredible. The duck that followed was also very good. However, the fourth course, lobster with peanut curry, was a disaster in my opinion. The flavor combination was, frankly, unpleasant—I couldn’t finish the dish. Perhaps it’s a matter of personal taste, but I found it poorly conceived. Aside from that, the rest of the savory dishes were solid. Where the experience truly collapsed was the dessert. The phrase “ending on a high note” definitely did not apply here. The mignardises were disappointing, including a melon and Espelette pepper candy that was simply unpleasant. The final coffee-based cake felt like something from a random neighborhood patisserie in the Paris suburbs—far from Michelin standards. The lemon dessert and the ice cream were also just average, again below expectations. The entrée was excellent, the main courses were overall solid, but the dessert ruined the entire experience. And that matters, because as people often say: guests remember the ending. I left with a bitter aftertaste—literally. For a bill of €160, which represents nearly a quarter of the average monthly salary in Greece, one expects a far more uplifting and memorable finale. On a positive note, I must highlight the impeccable service. The staff were extremely professional, both in their explanations and in the pacing of the meal. Overall, I would give this restaurant 14/20. The beginning of the meal was very promising, but the ending fell far short. I personally would not return, mainly because of the desserts, though I can acknowledge that the overall dining experience had strong qualities.

We tried the degustation menu and were satisfied by the presentation and taste. Good wine and cocktail selection. Service was very good and detailed. Sitting inside can give one the feeling that there is lack of privacy, due to the fact that the place is small and a large number of staff is gathered very close to the tables.

The place itself is stunning, with a lovely atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. ✨ I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a Michelin-starred restaurant with a Mediterranean touch. The price for the vegetarian menu was 120€ per person, not including the cost of drinks (which I don't remember now)

I went recently after some years for a business meeting and everything was amazing! ULTRA excellent, discrete and friendly stuff, amazing dishes and pastry (their pastry chefs should also open a boulangerie in Athens as the pastry was in another universe, similar to ones i had at the best boulangeries in Paris), deserts, main courses, drinks and the ambience of the restaurant were exceptional. Would recommend it 100% Let’s hope next year you reach your second star, why not a Third ⭐️/ as you certainly have the team and capacity to do so!!

What impressed us most was how the team created a special vegetarian menu just for us, with dishes that were not only beautifully presented but also full of creativity and flavor. I really enjoyed the food here. I came twice over the course of my trip and was pleased each time. The service was busy each time, but the staff were pleasant. I didn't have to wait to be seated as a solo diner, but I visited for a late lunch and then an early dinner, so perhaps timing was on my side. The food is a very reasonable price for the quality. Over the two visits, I tried the steamed mussels (nice, subtle spice, and standout dish), fava (comforting flavours), oven-baked anchoives and grilled peppers. Highly recommend.

Tucked away on a small and narrow street, this modest local restaurant sits far from the main tourist areas of Athens. If you find yourself here, it’s likely not by accident. We visited based on a friend’s recommendation but, unfortunately, left somewhat disappointed. The place offers simple, inexpensive local food — fresh but unremarkable. The squid was cooked properly, soft and not rubbery. The fish soup, however, lacked flavor — no seasoning, no depth, nothing particularly exciting. The peppers were a pleasant surprise, nicely prepared and full of taste — perhaps the best part of the meal. A regular Greek salad rounded out the experience, fresh and straightforward. Service was fast, even during the busier hours. Although one dish was mistakenly served, it was quickly corrected with no additional charge — a nice touch. Overall, this is a decent option for a casual, budget-friendly meal away from the tourist crowds. You’ll find food similar to what’s offered in the Plaka area, but at a lower price. Nothing special — just honest, fresh local cooking.

Absolutely amazing! Seafood was delicious, fresh, great portions and so deliciously seasoned. Our favourites were the giant prawns, seafood spaghetti, fried seafood platter and steamed muscles. We returned multiple times throughout our trip and we wish we could go back again! The staff were all super friendly and lovely to speak to. Couldn’t recommend this place more, our favourite in Athens💙

We had sea bass and a seafood platter. It was the most delicious seafood restaurant we've eaten in Athens. The baby calamari on the plate was the best I've ever had, as someone from Izmir. The prices were quite reasonable. The tables were never empty. Perhaps I'd say the fact that the tables were on the street was a minus.

We had the grilled squid, 1/2 sea bass with vegetables, and the anchovies on baked bread with taramosalata, all were delicious, but the anchovies and bread were a real standout. Everything was super fresh and perfectly prepared, these guys really know their seafood! The staff were attentive and efficient, even though we lined up, they cleared and reset tables quickly so the wait wasn’t long. Service was fast, and the vibe inside was cosy and lively. There’s also seating outside. It does get crowded (by the time we left around 9pm the line was huge), so best to go earlier if you don’t want to wait. Prices are very fair, with generous portions. Definitely recommend if you’re after fresh, delicious seafood in Athens!

Omg this place is amazing. 10/10 for excellent no-frills seafood in Athens. The best seafood pasta I’ve EVER had. Service is non-pretentious, friendly. Prawns are super juicy. Fish is delicious too.

Very good food and cosy atmosphere. The savoro was excellent. The grilled spicy pepper is very hot, but the creamy feta helped. It was very busy with a line outside.

Everything we tried was absolutely delicious — top-quality ingredients and perfect execution. Prices are on the higher side for Athens standards, but definitely justified by the overall experience. The Orzo with fish was outstanding, and both the pasta and the goat neck are must-tries. Highly recommend for a refined yet warm dining experience.

This place is so worth it. It’s on the pricy end, but very worth it if you’re in that kind of mood. The food is amazing. Every bite we took made us say “wow!” The service is great. They were welcoming and accommodating to any need we had. Would definitely come back here.

One of the best overall dining experiences of my life! I found this place by looking for a good steak in Athens. The reviews were good so I book a reservations. From the moment I entered the restaurant everything things started good and just got better. Ambience: The design is modern nature with lighting that accents the earth tones and naturalistic design. So when they say, “ come down in a garden” you definitely feel as in you have been set in a candle lit garden mixed with an umbrella elegant upscale restaurant! As the man out with a lady I am usually sitting in the chair as apposed to the bench, and of course these chair vary in comfort. At Vezene the chair was a solid wood frame with a leather fir. Leather cushion that made me want to order a set to take home. The bathroom was not only clean but design with every detail in mind. From the gap soap with a slight grit, to the small clothes to dry hands, and event the faucet was placed over a wooden slat sink that kept the natural design going. Service: The host, sommelier, server, server assistant, all were attentive and accommodating. We were recommended a wonderful small production semi-sweet muscat that was light fruit forward and delighted my guest. Our server went over recommendations and highlighted dishes that were staples and guest favorites. We followed her recommendation and were not disappointed by anything we tried. Plates and silverware were promptly reset for eat course. Wine and water was kept chill away from the table and refreshed as needed. Food: We tried at least 5 starters and a main dish, the core de beouef. My favorites were the pellet tomatoes with a roasted report dipping sauce and whipped cheese that was diving. And of course the Cote de beouf perfectly cooked medium sliced thin with roasted cauliflower, peppers, and garlic. Salted just so. For desert we have a dish that was moist chocolate cake with a ganaches, vanilla ice cream with winter spice, nuts. The combination of textures and layered flavors had my guest doing a little jig. Everyones taste are different so I will let the pictures speak to you. I can not recommend this restaurant enough!

We ate only Mazatas . Everting we ate was absolutely perfect. The dish a bit small and the price hige if I compre to other Tevernas. We took Tziki , zukini , pitta,greek salad and Feta with honey.

Very very pretty place, but not without problems. The wait is at least 30 minutes, which is okay, the food is nice, nothing crazy. We got a mixed plate for 2 people, I loved tzatziki and the meatballs, the rest was okay. The service is pretty bad though, we had to wait a while to place our order and even longer to pay. Nobody came to check if the food was good or if we wanted anything else.

My friend found this spot and was so excited to try it based upon Trip Advisor feedback. It definitely looks unassuming from the street. Luckily, we arrived before the afternoon rush and easily seated ourselves at one of the many tables available. After about it 15 minutes, the place was packed and by 3pm there was a line out the door into the street. Service was fine, very slow but exceptionally friendly. We tried a small sampler plate, meatballs, bread and a Greek salad with delicious fresh ingredients. The kitchen is small and they were packed so it took a very long time to get our entrees but the bread and salad was out quickly. My friend also had a small jug of honeyed wine that was also very good. They were so busy by the time we left they were running around like crazy and it was all Greeks and hardly any tourists. It’s a ways away from touristy areas and you’d never find it from the street if you didn’t know as it’s through an indescript door/alleyway and opens to a gorgeous seating area. They do have a bathroom for guests.

I’m not sure about this place. It’s quite unique because of its design and old style Greek street set up. However, the menu is quite poor. I understand that this is what they wanted to cook and sell here but I didn’t very like it, unfortunately. We could not even choose something from the menu because it’s either something over fried and over cooked. It’s not like it’s not tasty but it’s not what I expected. So if you want some Greek food or something tasty, I don’t think it’s a place you want to queue in.

Had a great dinner at Avli. This a local, no frills authentic spot for some tasty dishes. It’s busy, expect a short wait and not the best service because they are hustling to serve all the tables. The fried pork is a must, and the soutzoukakia is tasty. Last pic is a small size sampler platter, I would skip this next time and just get regular sized dishes of what you want.

Such a great time. Forgot my bag there. Came back an hour or so later. They held it for me. Nothing missing. Then we had shots in the kitchen and beers. Fun great time here. Small tight. Dont come here its too awesome. Whoever the white haired waiter was. He was excellent. We shared a few shots for sure.

We came here for the second time a few days ago, as we first came here a year ago during our travels. As we remember, food is excellent. The best dish is the fried chicken - it’s not “fried” like a KFC, it’s cooked in a delicious spice-filled sauce that you just have to try. I also enjoyed the zucchini balls. The location is really cool in my opinion - easy to miss if you walk past, which gives it a cosy feel inside. It’s always busy, so get there just before they open to choose the table you want! People pile in quickly. There’s good reason - it’s a great place.

Absolutely delicious food! Definitely order spicy shrimps, dolmadakia and do not leave without trying the orange chocolate cake dessert - probably the most delicious dessert I had in a long time! Good service and wine selection too.

We had great time at Papadakis. It was our last day in Athens and we couldn’t have a better dinner experience. The food was excellent, beautiful taste and presentation. Service was immaculate and ambiance - cosy and relaxing. High five to the whole team of Papadakis! ❤️

It just can’t get better. On every trip I make to Greece I plan one dinner at Papadakis, and every time I leave I feel the same way: that I’ve had dinner at the best restaurant in the country. I always look forward to it and I’ve never been disappointed.

Wonderful dinner spot with a lovely ambience and friendly staff. We particularly enjoyed the aubergine, fava, dolmades, and the grouper; our kids loved the orzo with shrimp. And make sure to try the mastika ice cream as a final sweet finish + pallet cleanser. (One note to the kitchen: I found the Greek salad slightly too salty!) Be sure to book in advance on the weekends.

We also had a fish soup as a starter, which was excellent as well: rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. Overall, a pleasant and genuine experience — ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy traditional seafood in an elegant yet cozy environment.

It was our last evening in Athens and we are so glad we chose Papadakis to end our wonderful holiday in Greece. The service was kind and helpful and they graciously found us a table outside. The food was delicious and perfectly served as we enjoy sharing our dishes .😋Octopus braised in honey; chickpea casserole; orzo with shrimps; fried calamari; orange fondant with chocolate ice cream. Lovely setting in the beautiful suburb of Kolonaki.

Incredible food, friendly service in a vibrant atmosphere. This small restaurant is without question the best we have visited in Athens. The Red Sea bream is incredible and the Yphes salad takes Greek salads to the next level. To finish, crème brûlée with everything - a taste of orange, touches of dark chocolate mousse and home made vanilla ice cream that has something extra in it…. Superb! This restaurant is a must visit.

This place has been my absolute favorite meal of our trip in Athens. It’s in an area with a lot less foot traffic so you feel like you have the whole area to yourself and can get away from it all. The food is absolutely amazing. The salad, bread and mushrooms were my amazing but the sauces and the chicken were mind blowing. Make sure you hit them up!

This place is overpriced for what it is. The food looks pretty and great on Instagram, but not much more. If you're an influencer, go right ahead. If you're a foodie, best avoid. My kale salad arrived drowning in vinegar. The Pirozhki tartare was completely unseasoned. So basically raw beef, a pickle, and egg yolk. The Moussaka dumpling was the best of a bad bunch, however once again while conceptually and visually good, it was severely lacking in the flavour department. The dumpling skins tasted doughy and raw - have they gone to gyoza school, I wonder? It didn't even taste steamed. And the tomato paste used in the sauce tasted like it was still raw and straight out of the can. If the prices were at 5-7 Euro per dish, I wouldn't complain this much, but it was €54.50, including a €12 glass of wine and €4 small bottle of sparkling water! So because of the price and what it was pretending to be (and it was not), it's a solid 2 stars from me.

Last dinner in Athens on Friday night with family aged 11 and 12. Sadly my kids like high end restaurants so this was their favourite. We enjoyed great service, the time to explain the dishes and experience. Good options for vegetarian / pescatarian. Cocktails were delicious. My only complaint was I received Prosecco in a wine glass. Other than that superb.

This was my second visit - I usually go to the sister restaurant Feedέλ Assador, as it's close to me. I know what to expect from these restaurants. Good atmosphere, great service, inspired food and cocktails. On my last visit there was a dish that was sub-par, which was unusual, this time though they got a 7 out of 7 for excellence. You really can't go wrong with any dish, from the soup and salad, to the piroski tartare and the beef cheeks. It's always delicious modern fusion takes on mostly greek dishes. The cocktails are as interesting - find the one that looks more to your style and give it a try. In general, it is probably better to go with a bigger company than 2 so you can try more dishes (the recommendation is 2/person to share, which works quite well - well, plus desert!).

When I told a friend that I would be visiting Athens and needed dining recommendations, he immediately told me about Feedέλ Urban Gastronomy! He was spot on! The cocktails were inventive and moreish. The menu showcased Greek ingredients and demonstrated quite impressive skills in the kitchen. The staff were kind and friendly when introducing us to the restaurant concept and specials on the menu and helpful in assisting us making choices from their extensive menu. I’m certain you won’t be disappointed here.

our family of 7 adults had reservations at the upper terrace which provides a beautiful view of the Parthenon. Last time when at Strofi the food and service were much better. The manager came and apologized because they seemed to have confusion and forgot about our order....when our meals finally arrived, the food was under seasoned and the bread was quite dry... disappointed with this restaurant. (the shrimp dish was best). The chairs had hard seats and were difficult to sit in while waiting for our dinner .. we loved the view but food not worth the prices they charge.

Strofi is amazing… my second time there. The food is delicious and abundant, and the view is spectacular. Everything is beautifully presented by the friendly waitstaff. Can’t wait to go back again the next time I’m in Athens.

A nice restaurant with a stunning view of the Acropolis. They have a selection of Greek wines and a large menu with traditional Greek dishes. I ordered the grape leaf-wrapped sea bass and my husband ordered the veal steak. Both were okay, but not too memorable. The seasoning was lacking on both dishes, and the presentation was confusing. We also ordered the baklava, and instead of honey, a simple syrup was squirted on top. It was okay, but not the best. The terrace atmosphere is nice, but something a little off-putting is that for each course you order, a receipt is brought to the table. After we ordered wine, a staff member immediately brought a ticket over. It made us feel confused a little rushed, as we had not ordered mains yet. As we saw them do this to other tables, we realized that this is just what they do here, but I would suggest this practice be changed to a single final ticket to reduce disruptive visits to the table. Overall, a nice place for the view and a glass of wine, but not the best food.

Location, location, location and atmosphere is awesome. Reservations is over hype. Even has a mimimum €35 per person. And needed to reconfirm reservations a day before if not they will cancel my reservations. The place was more than half empty when we were done with our dinner. So now I was expecting something phenomenal due to the strict requirements of the reservations. Goat in parchment paper is good, lamb was good, sea bass is also good. The veal was a big disappointed. First try was over cooked and the second time was almost rare. But all in all, nothing special on the food or let's say no wow factor. Will not recommend and no repeat from me.

Everything was fantastic and the rooftop with a view of the Acropolis was so romantic! I highly recommend eating here if you have the chance!

We were looking for a restaurant with a stunning view of the Acropolis, an outdoor terrace, traditional Greek cuisine well prepared, and reasonable prices—not a Michelin-starred fine dining option, but something more balanced. Strofi turned out to be the perfect choice. Located right below the Acropolis, the terrace offers an unforgettable panorama, especially in the evening. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and always polite. The food was excellent: traditional Greek dishes with a higher quality than a typical taverna. The moussaka was outstanding, the fish (sea bream, sea bass, and prawns) was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the meat dishes were also very much enjoyed by our kids. We paired everything with a Greek rosé wine, so good we ended up ordering two bottles. To get the best table, right by the edge with the view, I booked a couple of days in advance. They asked for a minimum consumption of about €35 per person, which was fair considering the quality of the food and the whole experience. I highly recommend booking in advance if you want to secure a table with the best view. Strofi combines panorama, delicious cuisine, and warm hospitality—a perfect highlight of our stay in Athens. After dinner, a stroll down towards Plaka makes the evening even more enjoyable.

The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Our wonderful server, Nick, went above and beyond by taking photos of us on the balcony and surprising our mom with a candle and cake for her birthday. Thank you for making her birthday and our trip so special! Definitely worth a stop if you're able.

Visited for dinner and ordered via the a la carte menu. The atmosphere is beautiful and the waiting staff were very friendly and as attentive as they should be. Many of the items were great (with the exception of the Greek rib eye which was slightly underwhelming) but they all lacked the wow factor you expect at such a price range. The Spanish beef fillet was amazing and definitely the highlight of the night. All in all, Cookoovaya is a very nice option in the area, but there are far better options at this price range.

The restaurant is definitely in the top 10% of local greek cuisine. Modern approach to excellent ingredients with talented kitchen staff and very good table service. My waitress Anastasia was fabulous, charming and knew the menu. Praises to chef the cuisine- Anna. They have one more new location on an island.

Really dissapointing food. Extremely expensive for what it is. A salad of basically boiled potatoes for €20, the tiniest piece of amberjack fish served with literaly half a zuchini for €38, the driest piece of seabass fish served with barely boiled wild greens for €35. An untasteful joke. The service was great though! The tables near the open kitchen get way too much heat, best avoid.

I'm going this place the benefit of the doubt, it came highly recommended but I wasn't blown away by this meal. The raw fish of the day was so citrusy it was overpowering, I couldn't enjoy the natural flavors of the raw fish or other ingredients, it was just a melange of textures "a la limon." Truly disappointing bc I love a good crudo, and it wasn't cheap. My second dish was was the slow cooked goat, it was juicy and tender, but slightly on the sweet side which isn't my preferred flavor profile but others might enjoy it. The potatoes that accompany it were more like potato chips than fries. The staff was kind, and the restaurant is beautiful, don't know if I will give it another try as its quite pricy. One other thing, I didn't enjoy the style of service here in Athens that I experienced a few times at fine dining restaurants. As soon as you sit down, the waiter appears and, even before you get the menu they ask if you would like a certain item, it feels rushed, the client feels pressured and its s bit sneaky to ask if they want to have something like bread if its a premium product w an upsell without letting them know. I'd give this place a 3.9 if I could but since its not a 3 I'll give it a 4, in my opinion.

This is WHERE to dine in Athens. Love it! Ask for waitress Jonna. She is absolutely a professional. We had the lamb chops and grouper. Both were perfect. We shared the pear tart — oh Wow! We are going back tonight for aged mutton for two.

We had an excellent meal overlooking the city of Athens yesterday evening! We opted for the 10 course degustation and each dish was delicious. Even the bread course stood out as both interesting and delectable! Our main server, Orfeas, was warm and professional with excellent English speaking skills. The whole staff, in fact, was great and very accommodating to us considering we had a stroller and a young infant with us. We would totally recommend Hytra to people who are looking for a fine dining/tasting menus in Athens!

We went to Hytra for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner and it was such a delight!! Everything from the food to the service was incredible, down to the smallest detail. Couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate! We had several amazing staff members working with us throughout the night but sadly only remember the name of one server, Maria was exceptional!

Took a taxi 25 min out to enjoy a Michelin restaurant as opposed to a simple in-town tourist spot & SO GLAD we did! We opted for a set menu and they kindly made pescatarian alternative options for me while my husband enjoyed the meats. Service was top notch and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing up on the hilltop. Would recommend to anyone traveling through athens to make this extra little drive for a treat.

Dinner at Hytra was a fabulous experience. Service was impeccable. Food was great. As with most fine dinings restaurants portions are on the smaller side but presentation was impeccable and everything we tried tasted fantastic. The atmosphere is on the casual side with a nice view of the hills surrounding Athens.

Lovely place with a beautiful setting and the views. We had the degustation menu and enjoyed a lot of dishes. However for a Michelin starred restaurant I would expect that they would cater also to the non-drinking crowd at least at some basic level, but was disappointed to hear that my options are limited to soda or non-alcoholic beer.

We came for a birthday celebration meal, we had pre-ordered the menu we wanted to eat, and when we arrived the waiter handed us a menu anyway and we were a little confused. We wanted to taste wine and order a glass and the waiter offered us a bottle and in the end we paid a lot. The waiter spoke very quickly and we had a hard time understanding him. He was charming and helpful, so I would like to praise him for that, but it's not just because of the service that you come to a restaurant like this, we came to eat and we were disappointed. We chose a vegetarian route, and I have to say that if you don't know how to handle vegetables well, it's better not to give the option, the first courses were strange, not tasty and really strange textures. The bread with butter was delicious, the beets with butter and soy sauce were okay but a very simple dish that anyone can make at home, and the desserts were very tasty. I have to say that we left the restaurant feeling nauseous, the food was very not to our taste, and there was also a long wait between courses. And I didn't mention that they poured the water we ordered for another table, there was a cat sitting next to us at the next table, and the restrooms were not as clean as expected for a restaurant like this. Unfortunately, I will not recommend and will not return to the restaurant.

Hytra boasts a charming setting nestled on a green hill up a short garden path - it also boasts 1 Michelin star and may make your list of dine dining haunts in Athens. (If you can find it) It’s confusingly playing neighbor to another restaurant, Fuga, that seems to be located directly in front of it and hogging half the signage… but fear not, just follow the path upward and to the right from the entrance on the street where the main “Hytra” label sits on the map and emblazoned on the wall next to a sign for “Fuga”. Google reviewers have uploaded photos from inside Hytra under Fuga’s name… making this even more confusing. Fuga is apparently a temporary rebranding of Hytra’s space for events… is this common in Greece? I have absolutely no idea. The restaurant is decorated classically and resembles many American fine dining establishments. Comfortable seating, glossy black tables, and modern lighting all fit the bill here. Some people dining nearby had even brought their children - it was really very low key. If you don’t want the usual pressure of a Michelin star restaurant but you want the food quality, you will probably love this. Absolutely zero pretense or stuffiness— just be aware that some people like that and will find this off-putting. Maybe they’re in a new space recently having moved? It all felt weirdly staged and maybe the restaurant will move spaces? The view is very nice in the evening, can’t deny that. We’ll see how it develops in the future. But the Michelin reviewers got it right here, I think: the food is captivating and surpasses the elegance of the venue. You’ll find a relatively condensed tasting menu, strong offerings of local wine for a pairing, and no pressure to follow the usual “you must do X or Y” here. You can adjust reservations and dining preferences up to the moment and they’re very accommodating (again maybe reflecting a heightened sensitivity to tourists who might not understand normal Michelin grade strictness?). All the guesswork aside, the plates are well presented and the food is really top notch. I found myself wanting more and could have maybe eaten two of the smaller 90€ menus. Take that as you will. Bread is a standout, and as is common in Greece, assumes its own course. Always found that funny when it’s an “intermission” plate in American restaurants. Local fruit and vegetables take center stage and a tender, lush cod main round out the menu - desert is light and fresh and dishes flow well into one another. Again, set expectations appropriately but definitely try this place if you aren’t perhaps a more seasoned Michelin eater and you’ll find that Hytra helps bridge the gap easily between fine dining and the next step up. I bet it looks even more spectacular in the earlier evening before nightfall.

The food is just amazing and full of surprises. It’s not the ordinary type you can get anywhere in Greece, it comes with some unexpected taste and unexpectedly amazing! We ordered the grilled sardines, the veggie sauce for the fish is amazing, sweet and sour with tons of freshness, perfect combination with the sardines! We did not get the tables in the lovely courtyard, but sitting indoor is equally nice in hot summer.

Beautiful garden setting – make sure to reserve! This restaurant has a stunning garden atmosphere, but be sure to make a reservation if you’d like to sit there — it fills up fast. We were seated in the back area, which was comfortable, but the garden is definitely the highlight. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Kavourma with hummus, roasted eggplant with feta, and chicken risotto — all beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The highlight, though, was the cheesecake with lime and almond crumble. It was the smoothest, most delicious cheesecake I’ve had in Greece. Highly recommend!

Really nice place , their garden was very comfortable but full of children running around. Inside area is also nice , with a retro style. Food was delicious and portions were more than enough. We took a day's dish and it was amazing. Prices were ok for what you get!

The BEST Greek salad I have ever tried in my life. So good we had to order another one. We enjoyed all the other options including the roasted aubragine that tasted heavenly, the courgettes fried balls and the rhum braised pork. With two beers 56 euros. Honest price, amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, loved it.

Me and my boyfriend walken in without reservation. We had to wait for a bit to br seated but was it worth it! The atmosphere is really nice and the servers kept an eye on you and made sure to ask if you needed anything. There is a good choice of food. The dishes are good portions and taste amazing. I was sad that I did not have the time to come back again for another dinner. If you ever visit Athens, go here!

Cozy atmosphere, family business like. Waiting not long at all. Grill and spit meat plus a lot of greek cuisine stuff. Prices are also quite good as its in a central area. Will come back and I recommend this.

Walked through their tables on the sidewalk one night and saw one customer with a big leg of lamb on his plate. Said "We're coming here tomorrow" to my wife. They did not disappoint! We ordered the Mousaka, Pastitio, greek salad and lamb on the spit. The lamb was juicy and tasty. The Mousaka was the best we had eaten on our Greek adventures. We ate inside to get the feel of the kitchen. We went back the next day for our last dinner in Greece before we flew home. We had the Fava beans and chicken souvlaki as well as another round of lamb on the spit. All of our food was delicious. That said, a couple behind us had the kontosouvli chicken but didn't appreciate some of the more harder charred bits which one would expect if you ordered that type of grilled meat. We would go back in a second for our Greek Traditional food.

Moussaka I ordered was dry and it seems to have only potato in it. Kleftika was very dry and difficult to chew, it might have been prepared yesterday. It also had this gray color. Greek salad — nothing special with only 4 olives in it. Would not return

Cosy diner with great service. Excellent food at reasonable pricing with generous portions. Chicken was tender and very flavourful. Take a table away from the road as the exhaust fumes might put you off when there is a traffic congestion.

Steak was big but tough as leather. Staff wasn’t very friendly and cold. She told us to get the BBQ spit chicken instead of souvlaki but it was sooooo dry we could even finish even half of it. The best plate was the stewed lamb and potatoes dish.

A traditional Greek tavern in the center of Athens. The quality of the food is really great and the prices are reasonable compared to other similar places in the area. The meat is really tasteful. Theybalso have a nice variaty of Tsipouro. Overall is a place that you will certainly eat well and pay a normal amount of money. Its a must!

Great small plate restaurant, the flavours of dishes were very memorable. Smoky moussaka, very soft lamb stew with beans. Sweet tomatoes in the Greek salad and of course crusty soft bread you wipe your plates clean. Our server Linda is friendly and funny. She want to make sure we don’t leave a drop of flavourful salad dressing behind and she brought us on the house dessert (maybe because we return all the plates squeaky clean) !! 🥰 Beautiful Instagrammable Art Nouveau-ish dining room and outdoor seatings with cute playlist. No Amex tho 😭

One of the best meals of our trip. The food here does not play around and every dish was excellent. If they have the cold red pepper soup, absolutely order it. It was the standout. Even better than the food was the service. Arguably the nicest and most professional server in Athens, Linda, was an absolute pleasure to have waiting on us. We were initially concerned we couldn't be able to get a table for lunch but waltzed in at 1pm and had no problems securing a two top outside. I will absolutely be back -- this place is a total gem. Can't wait to return.

Restaurant serves small plates and we tried the octopus and the melichloro cheese with tomato marmalade. Both were great. Outdoor seating next to a church at night had a lovely ambience as we drank our rosé wine. Service was prompt. Recommended!

One of the most memorable culinary experiences we’ve ever had in Athens! ❤️ Let me start with the gesture that truly touched us — I had asked in advance if the restaurant could prepare something small for my fiancée’s birthday, and they went above and beyond. They surprised us with a beautiful dessert served with a candle, and when they brought it out, they even played a birthday song with warm wishes. That moment, with the music and the smiles from the staff, made the evening incredibly personal and unforgettable. The cake itself was not only delicious but also one of the sweetest highlights of our trip. And the food itself? World-class, yet deeply authentic: – a chilled red pepper soup with trout, cucumber, and raisins — one of the most unique soups we’ve ever tasted, – classic Greek dishes like moussaka and meatballs — absolute perfection, with the real taste of Greece shining through, – a fava split from Feneos spread that paired perfectly with warm bread, simple but full of flavor. The atmosphere was just as remarkable as the food. The space is beautifully designed — elegant walls, lush greenery, and an impressive bar that immediately catches the eye. The background music throughout the evening was perfectly chosen and completed the experience without ever overwhelming the room. On top of that, the service was outstanding. The gentleman who looked after us was kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about the menu and Greek cuisine. The selection of Greek craft beers was excellent, and of course, the classic touch — free water at the table. This is a place that combines heart, flavor, style, and true Greek hospitality in the best possible way. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

Delicious food (clean plates all round). Quick, friendly service, which we found can be a rarity in Athens. Highly recommend. The yellow beetroot salad was so good. Prawn saganaki, chicken skewers and battered cod were all nice too.

An extremely rare 5 stars from me. Perfect balance of great food and even better service. They know their market and they do it well. Busy, slightly boisterous, unpretentious, hearty, and flavoursome. Chilled red pepper soup with smoked trout, fava bean dip, and shrimp saganaki - everything was made with love and amazing flavour and little creative twists to the originals. Bonus brownie points for the little bottle of amazing extra virgin olive oil to go with the bread, just in case it was needed. It wasn't, but we had some anyway. Don't hesitate, walk in, ring and book, just eat here.

Lovely experience in this local family restaurant. Everything is very nice: service, atmosphere and, of course food. The menu is quite innovative with fresh fish and brave flavours. Nothing will leave you still. Price is very decent too. I recommend the stuffed squid with tomato and feta cheese as well as the octopus ok any kind. Be aware that only some plates of the menu are available according to the products so ask first what's in for the day!

The food was incredible (definitely try the Calamari and Meze plater), great drinks and we were all so full without feeling glutted. The service was so on point (real family vibes), 💯 will be coming back next visit to Athens.

No regrets walking half an hour there for a dinner from downtown Athens. This place serves very fresh food prepared in the most delicate way. The server is extremely honest and sincere with the recommendations. Extremely worth it for the price vs quality ratio. Will definately return when back in Athens.

Firstly, the food is one of a kind. The service is incredible. If you know what to look for then check out the seafood case. If not, ask the server what is fresh. Amazing atmosphere with great food and excellent service. Beautiful setting with live music on the weekend and traditional dancers. Excellent drinks and reasonable prices. The baklava is delicious, and the orangepie is rich and tasty. A great place to spend an evening.

Went here as an impromptu dinner spot after a lovely welcome from the waiters and were not at all disappointed. The orange juice was fresh and I tried the tomatoes with stuffed rice for the first time - these were cooked so well and full of flavour. The seating was nice outside with some lovely live music as well!

Cozy rooftop with gorgeous view. Sit on the rail by the inside restaurant to hear the live Greek music and see the traditional dancing. The grilled octopus was perfect, and local wine was a great recommendation. They have many tables linking the steps up the hill which is a fun experience to try on our next visit. The tzatziki was excellent and we put it on everything. Great date night spot and worth the drive from Athens to Plaka. Reservations recommended!

I had an awkward experience here. I am a half black half white American, and I’m not sure what exactly it was, but the staff treated me very strangely especially when it was time to pay. It was as if they didn’t think I was going to, because they were hawk eyeing my every move it seemed. Also, some of the patrons would point and murmur and it just felt very uncomfortable. At this point I have been to quite a few bars and restaurants and have never felt like this, and I don’t exactly know what it was about me that made everyone behave so strangely here. On a side note, the life music and the vibe was very nice and interesting, so as a local or someone who looks like a local, you’d likely have a better experience. I wanted to like this place but there were just too many moments where I felt like a zoo animal that I just can’t recommend for others who look like me. The lamb chops were okay but very chewy and not quite as good as other places nearby. Good luck!

Were greeted so warmly by the host and waiters. Great food, everything was delicious. Quick and gracious service. Lovely musicians and dancing entertainment. Highly recommend.

We lived our dinner at geros Tou Moria. Food was best and entertainment was so fun. Loved the dancers and the music. Nicolas our server suggested food selections from menu. He made our night unforgettable. Our only regret is that it was our first night and we had been up for 48 hours straight so we couldn’t make it through to the end of the show.

Great foodd!! I eat here very frequently, both dining and ordering are amazing options for a good lunch and dinner!! The salads are addicting and the feta with honey is sooooo good, we finished it before I could even take a picture! The service is very friendly and accommodating and you are guaranteed to enjoy the food every time!

A friend took me here and it was an excellent meal. The service is also good. You can sit inside or out - on the street near the building or on the street side of the park. I had crete pasta and we shared the eggplant appetizer. All of that was excellent.

Delicious meal in a charming neighborhood. My taste buds were exploding with joy!!! The Pop3ye and Sweet Pea Salad and Scrambled Eggs were on point. Also loved the olive spread and fresh bread.

Nice place for mezzè, ordered a few dishes to share and enjoyed our time here. One issue is that I truly dislike couscous and the sausage we ordered was dipped in it, though that’s on me as it was written in the menu and I didn’t notice it.

It was a lovely surprise while I was just walking, I asked for the drunk chicken and it was delicious, the chicken and the potatoes were on the point and the white wine sauce was amazing, the ambient is really nice just in one of a tipycal greek zone. Also they give you bread and some tasty olive hummus as a starter, which is nice while you are waiting for your food. Oh and the dessert omg incredible delicious. I really recommend the place and please don't forget to tip the staff whose work is spotless and very good. Pd. Good to mention that they still serving food after 11pm wich is hard to find in Europe.

Taverna Stamatopoulos was advised to us as we were looking for a taverna with Greek music. It turned out to be a popular taverna with many tourists waving petcetas, to the lovely songs of a duo. So we did waved petcetas.too. I liked the music very much and I gave the musicians some amount of tips and asked a song from my favourite Greek singer, Nana Mouskouri. And they did play a song by Nana. The food for me was average but my wife liked it. I liked the music, wine and Greek salad and fava.😁 We had a lovely time. I also bought a Nana Mouskouri cd. Athena, Milisse Mou, Alone, White Rose of Athens are very few of my Nana songs. Her daughter is a very good singer too.

Excellent restaurant and experience. Staff and owner are very kind, and service is excellent. We were able to get a table as walk-ins twice during peak dinner time, though I recommend reserving because it gets full. Food is excellent, and the live music is great. Not overpowering in volume and you can comfortably have conversation.

First of all, we were walk-ins. We did not have any expectations coming in except for the prices that were clearly stated outside. Nobody harassed us to come in and we were warmly offered very good seating even though we don't look(or are) like great spenders. The waiters were very nice and even though we only had a chicken suvlaki, a plate of halloumi and a wine carafe, we weren't treated any differently than people from other tables. The food was very good, they did not try to "push" the bread or water on us, though water was offered and we accepted it. The live music is very good. the two guys singing make it seem effortless, but they are not bored. They are good professionals. All in all it is a very nice experience in an area with this much turnover. Good food, good service and good atmosphere.

Tried to find a Greek taverna with live music on a Tuesday night in Athens, it was a hard ask but found this place that seems to have live music every day, was thoroughly impressed and so glad we got a walk in table, servers are lovely and the atmosphere was great, we have travelled from Australia and thoroughly enjoyed our time here at an authentic Greek taverna highly recommend!! Loved the Stamatopoulou salad and the grilled calamari in particular ευχαριστούμε πάρα πολύ 😍

We spent a wonderful dinner and evening here. With authentic Greek musicians, lots of place, a view from the 2nd tier. Food was excellent and discovered new Greek wines which we don't have many back home in Montréal!

Complicated. I have been coming here each summer and spring since 2010 with a group varying in size from 21-40. We have had great experiences here before Covid, but this time was very, very disappointing. We booked the day before, provided the order the night prior, and then double checked the day of. They brought out Triple the number of ordered dips (9 euro each!) , forgot drinks then added them to the bill on top of the order, and it took over 90 minutes for the mains to be served. The place does great business, the waiters are quick and professional, and the music is great with a wonderful atmosphere. As I said: complicated. 4 euro for a small pop. If you’re a group, settle the bill before they bring you the food.

We had lunch at this restaurant on a chilly day and sat inside. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and has air conditioning in the indoor area. We ordered grilled sardines, fave bean puree, roasted stuffed peppers, fried zucchini balls, and fried calamari. Every dish was delicious from start to finish. The flavours are well-balanced, and the ingredients taste fresh. The portions are fair, and the service is efficient. The atmosphere is lively but not too noisy, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. There are plenty of tables, so finding a seat is not a problem. The overall experience is positive, and we left satisfied.

What a find this place was! It was bustling and there were a lot of locals yet the service was really good. If you are looking to try some Greek Tapas (small plates), I definitely recommend this place. I got the Marinated Anchovies, Octopus in Vinegar and Fava (Split Peas). Everything tasted and I can't wait to rgo back and try the other items.

Authentic food, authentic atmosphere. I judge a Greek taverna from the fried potatoes and the Greek « horiatiki » salad. They can reveal a lot about the rest of the food. Fries were perfect! Hand cut and cooked just as they should in good quality oil. The mixed fried vegetables (mainly aubergines) were also superb. Sweet, soft and sticky! I would go back just for this dish. Very good potato salad. Fava and « gigades » beans very good quality but nothing to die for (if you compare them to the rest of the plates) And price wise… !!! 👌

The place where the food tour brought us for lunch. They offered us all kinds of Greek cuisine. The food was delicious. A quiet place. We had the chance to try many traditional Greek dishes.

This place must have been clearly mentioned in some authentic food tourist guides or something, because it received many frightened tourists, as it is not the kind of place where you expect a beautiful meal. With plenty on offer and at a very reasonable price, we ate and drank until we were stuffed. It deserves a mention on the list of authentic Greek food places, as far as I'm concerned.

Everything was delicious, service staff were friendly and attentive. The volume of delicious food, with excellent consistency, going out the kitchen is amazing to watch. There's no great view or romantic atmosphere, you're there to eat and eat well! PS. Excellent value for money.

Probably the best local meal I’ve had in Athens. You’re seated, served your order, then they bring you the bill when asked and don’t even ask for a tip (likely the few restaurants in tourist areas that don’t). Highly recommend visiting and enjoying the food.

This was our very first meal in Athens during the heat wave, and my son couldn’t have picked a better spot. It’s in the busy area by Monastiraki Square, but the service is super fast. The yogurt kebab was juicy and packed with flavor, and the Greek salad tasted so fresh. Portions are generous, the beer was ice-cold, and the lively vibe made the crazy heat much easier to handle. Such a great start to our trip. Highly recommend!

I had the yogurtlu kebab, and it was tasty and full of flavor. The portion size was huge, and although the prices are high, it was okay considering the restaurants location and the big portion size. The place was packed and had a lively vibe. We also got tzatziki, pita bread to dip in the tzatziki, and red wine, all of which were good. Due to its touristic location, the restaurant might look like a tourist trap, but they actually serve delicious food.

The yogourtlou kebab was actually the yummiest thing I’ve ever eaten. The meat was so tender, the sauce was so flavourful, the pita was so soft and buttery and soaked up all the flavours! Was genuinely at a loss for words, huuuge portion too which I didnt mind one bit! Mum also loved her chicken souvlaki. Some seriously delish food, can’t wait to come back to Athens some day to have it allll over again.

This is the oldest restaurant in Athens, founded back in 1948 — such a charming piece of history! 🇬🇷✨ We ordered the yoghurt kebab, which tasted quite good, though the portion was so big that we got a little tired of the flavor halfway through. We also tried the grilled mozzarella, which tasted exactly as you’d expect — warm, cheesy, and comforting. If you’re visiting Athens and want to experience some authentic Greek cuisine in a traditional setting, this place is definitely worth a visit. 🍽️💙

We ate all all all the food As if the plate is completely clean without even the oil , no nothing , you can see how much we love this restaurant, the food , server , music, place is really amazing , I particularly recommend the second picture if you like pita bread or just bbq pork or grilled pork, this is the best dish I have ever tried during my trip here in Greece for 14 days, the price is reasonable as well, needless to say, the beans dips was really good as well, is very healthy and tasty, I recommend you to try the dips with bread , this restaurant also has the best bread I tried in Greece , it looks a bit hard , but it is actually soft , just perfect with the dips ; but just a bit expensive , but maybe it shows the quality of it , I guess is homemade🤣🤣, overall , I truly recommend everyone to try this restaurant

Unfortunately we were very disappointed by the food; we ordered shrimp saganaki and cuttlefish risotto. Although they looked great, both ended up being super heavy - full of spring onions (not mentioned in the menu) and yellow onions. Both me and my husband didn’t digest it until the next day and we slept very badly after we had it. The positive is that the staff is nice and so is the vibe. If you’re choosing a meat dish, you should be safe as they looked good but don’t order the risotto or saganaki.

The view of the acropolis was exquisite at night! Food and service were amazing! Their feta hot appetizer was absolutely delicious and so was their seagrouper is a must. I wouldn’t recommend the beef carpaccio only.

This place is beautiful inside and outside. With a million dollar view from there three story terrace. The inside is just as lovely but, you came for the view. Service was a 10 for our group of 6 and they even brought over heated lamps to keep us cozy as it got cooler at night. I had the Sole with fresh veggies and a light sauce. It was absolutely wonderful. We had a range of samplers from their baked feta, to stuffed grape leaves, fried zucchini. All stellar. Additionally, I tried my friends mushroom risotto and the moussaka. Sooo good. We loved everything about dinner. They have a notable wine list and can easily answer questions and make recommendations which they did for our group.

Absolutely loved our lunch here with an incredible view of the Acropolis in the distance. I had the Greek salad—no lettuce, just crisp cucumbers, sweet, homegrown-tasting tomatoes, and creamy feta. It was dressed simply with lemon, oregano, and amazing Greek olive oil—bright, fresh, and full of flavor. It even came with a couple of little cookies on the side, which somehow worked perfectly. The place was spotlessly clean, the staff were warm and friendly, and the bathrooms were immaculate. A relaxed, delicious experience—highly recommend!

Dining with a View of the Acropolis If you want to enjoy a meal with a stunning view of the Acropolis, this is definitely the place. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, and the terrace is perfectly arranged for a memorable evening with one of the best views in Athens. However, compared to the view, the restaurant is quite expensive for the quality of food it offers. Like many rooftop spots in Athens, you’re paying mostly for the view rather than the dishes themselves. The ribs were a bit dry and lacked flavor — I had to add salt and spices to bring them to a more enjoyable level. The burrata salad was rather disappointing: it consisted mostly of chopped cherry tomatoes and what seemed to be a local version of burrata cheese. Typically, when burrata is cut, the creamy center should flow out — here, it did not. The eggplant was crispy but not particularly flavorful. The wine list is extensive, though the prices are on the higher side. Service was polite and professional throughout. In summary, this is a place where you pay for the location and the breathtaking view rather than for exceptional food. Beautiful setting — but the dishes don’t quite match the price level.

Arguably, this restaurant has the best view to the Parthenon Temple in the whole of Athens. Some other restaurants do have a view to the Parthenon, especially from their terrace tables, but they have mostly the side view. Being a fine dining place, this has a better wine collection than most others I have been to at Athens. Btw, be prepared to pay about 50-60 per person for the meal.

I tried to calm down before writing this, but here’s my honest review of this OVERRATED restaurant. Terrible service. Rude staff. Hands down the worst dinner of our 10-day trip in this otherwise wonderful country. Yes, the staff were suited up like James Bond… but served like a comedian. We ordered appetizers and mains, and instead of pacing it out, the waiter just piled everything onto our tiny table—like it was a buffet at a student dorm. Then one male staff member leaned over and muttered “faster! faster!” Honestly, was he talking to us, the chef, or his career prospects? Either way, not the “fine dining” energy they claim to offer. And then came the water-pouring circus act. The waitress decided it was a good idea to pour water from over 20 cm above the glass, splashing it all over my hand. Not just once—she repeated this “trick” for other tables with kids either. I’m just grateful it wasn’t boiling water, otherwise, we’d be reviewing a hospital instead of a restaurant. The food? Slightly better than an airport pork gyro plate. But here you pay over €40 per meal, which makes sense—€30 is for the view, €10 is for the food. Don’t get me wrong, the chef probably tried their best, but “effort” isn’t exactly worth Michelin-star prices. Hopefully, someone out there found the “passion” in their underwhelming plates. Cocktails? We ordered them not to celebrate my birthday, but to give Zonar’s one last chance to redeem itself. Spoiler: they didn’t. The bartenders (stationed by the welcoming aisle) served drinks with all the finesse of a vending machine you could spot on the street. The view? Gorgeous. Absolutely a stunner. But we took our own selfies—no way were we trusting staff with our memories after everything else they managed to ruin. Greece gave us plenty of joy, but Zonar’s will not be on the highlight reel. Honestly, I don’t know how much Zonar’s spends on hyped-up promotions in East Asia, but maybe cut the ads and spend that money on basic staff training and an interview process that weeds out people who think fine dining means “spill water dramatically and tell customers to hurry up.” Thanks for reading - Save your money, enjoy the view elsewhere.

The restaurant has a beautiful setting with stunning views of the Acropolis and a modern, elegant interior. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the atmosphere. It was slow and disorganized throughout the meal. I specifically ordered a lamb dish and clearly mentioned no pork due to dietary restrictions, but it still came with pork sausage on the side. They did correct the mistake, but it took over 20 minutes to bring a new plate. The food itself was okay — fresh but not particularly special or memorable. Given the high-end setting, I expected better execution and more attentive service. A decent experience overall, but not one I’d be in a rush to repeat. I don’t recommend it.

Service was a 10/10. Staff were amazing, kind and very knowledgeable. However, you’re paying for the view here and/or you’re looking for an extensive wine collection. Cocktails are good but extremely overpriced. Spritz are $27. Our Greek salad was the same as anything on the street but ran us $26 with far less feta. Saddle of Lamb was extremely minimal for $50 and the Tagliatelle tasted just greasy. $20 for water is outrageous as well. We were so excited for this place and told at check in to make a reservation instantly. Wish we ate around town once more and passed on this.

The food was phenomenal, the staff were so kind and attentive. Sofia was our server and she was very pleasant. The burrata was amazing, as was the ravioli. The view of the Parthenon at night was stunning. Definitely worth a visit, but recommend making a reservation!

The GB roof garden was a great place to enjoy dinner with the best view of Athens. Request a table by the terrace and you will be able to see the Acropolis, Parthenon, Erechteion, the Panathenaic Stadium and the Presidential Palace. The staff were very friendly. They didn’t rush as at all. We enjoyed an appetitive and then dinner. There were vegetarian options. I highly recommend the burratta with peach and the ravioli. The desserts were good too, we liked the tiramisu. The servers took some time to get our food order after the aperitivo but they gave us the desserts as a courtesy for the delay. All in all a great experience that I can recommend for a romantic dinner to see the sunset.

It is a luxurious rooftop experience situated inside a luxury hotel. The staff service is top notch. The prices are high but it is expected for fancy hotel with a gorgeous panoramic view of the city including views to Acropolis, Syntagma square and Panathenaic stadium.

Authentic & cute with BIG PORTIONS. If you think you’re gonna order an appetizer and a main and finish both, GOOD LUCK!!!! Super cute on top of a hill, service is ok. It’s a tavern they did nothing extraordinary but everyone was nice. Food is good too. Fried Fish is tasteless though and they give mustard for dipping sauce WITH EVERYTHING. The blended fruit juices, AMAZING! Across the board it’s a nice place to experience.

We tried our luck without a reservation and managed to get a table 💃🏽💃🏽 We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the city view . There was live music at the restaurant right below, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The food was generally tasty, the staff were polite, and the atmosphere was amazing. We had the shrimp & Feta appetizer which was really good and had a touch of spice. I had the lamb with potatoes in gravy and it’s the best lamb I’ve ever had. My wife had the risotto and sea bass and it was amazing. My FIL had the lamb chops and Al’s said it was amazing. We had such a great group dinner at Psaras in Athens — definitely one for the books! We sat outside on the terrace with an incredible view overlooking the city. The atmosphere was cozy, authentic, and felt like a perfect little pocket of Greece tucked into the hillside. We started with a ton of small sharing plates — bread, salad, eggplant, meatballs, and more. Each one was packed with flavor, and it was so fun to try a bit of everything. Honestly, by the time our main dishes arrived, most of us were already pretty full — but of course, we powered through because everything looked and smelled amazing! The main was just as good as the starters, and somehow we even made room for dessert. Every course was delicious and well-paced, and the staff did a great job keeping everything flowing for such a large group. Dining here felt more like a full experience than just a meal. The views, the food, and the laid-back vibe made it a night to remember. If you’re in Athens and want a place that combines traditional Greek food with a beautiful atmosphere, Psaras is a must. Would come back to this spot 100%.

To Kafeneio offers a wonderfully authentic Greek dining experience nestled at the foot of the Acropolis in the historic Plaka neighborhood. Wandering through the uneven, maze-like cobblestone streets around the restaurant truly feels like stepping back into ancient Greece. It’s said that this place has been around for 140 years—and you can feel the history! I originally tried visiting in the evening, but it was completely packed. So I came back the next day for lunch and was lucky enough to get a table after waiting just about 10 minutes. The food was delicious—the Greek salad with a full block of feta cheese was absolutely satisfying, the eggplant dip with honey was a delightful sweet-and-savory treat 👍, and the meatballs in sauce were flavorful and tender 👌. The only dish that didn’t quite win me over was the tomato fritters—I found them a bit dry for my taste. Overall, it’s a very local and genuine experience with great traditional flavors and friendly service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy classic Greek cuisine in a charming historical setting!

The staff was absolutely outstanding and incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making the whole visit feel special. As for the food, it was top-notch! The prices were more than fair for the quality and portion sizes. I had the kavourma and sausages, both served in a rich, flavorful sauce that was perfectly balanced. The traditional pitas (pies) were a great complement, adding to the authenticity of the meal. A tip for anyone visiting, before your meal, be sure to try a shot or two of rakomelo (Cretan raki). It’s the perfect start to your dining experience!

Great little spot with a sidewalk view if eating outside. The food is flavorful I had the marinated octopus and a Greek salad. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

Just off the tourist path in Plaka. A charming roof top and indoor dining/bar space provided a welcome break from the days activities. We stopped in initially for afternoon drinks on the rooftop but decided to come back that night for dinner too. The space was intimate, service and the food was very good. Dinner on the rooftop at Balcony Restaurant & Bar. The food in Athens has been outstanding.

Overall, Balcony was decent. To sum it up, you pay for the view, not really the food. Service was decent and we had a pre set menu as part of DARCOS group. Everything was decent but I will say watching the sunset view as we ate was beautiful. Very cool to see Acropolis under the sun as well.

On a rooftop close to the acropolis and with refined Greek food, highly recommend the octopus and Greek salad with a twist, as well as sharing the plates to try different dishes. Nice atmosphere, however, the service was less hospitable than in some other tavernas we tried on our trip.

The Balcony restaurant was recommended by the owner of the apartment where we stayed and we were not disappointed. We sat outside on the roof terrace and enjoyed imaginative and delicious food. Bread with olive oil and olives was tasty. Service was good too, as was the atmosphere. There's a lift to the upper floors which is useful, although it's probably too small for a wheelchair. Beware that the opening hours posted on their website were incorrect at that time.

Excellent food. Very creative and a new twist on traditional Greek cuisine. Everything was delicious, specifically the Crispy eggplant. Restaurant is located on the roof and the elevator is tiny. It can barely fit 3 people, ideally two. Don't worry, they have a perfectly working spiral staircase.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced, the view of the acropolis was great and it was convenient to book around 7.30-8pm to watch it during sunset and when the lights come on. The pineapple cocktail and tzatziki were delicious but please avoid the fruit cup cocktail, we had that as the last drink and after one sip our palettes were ruined and all the flavours of dinner left due to a bitter alcohol taste.The restaurant is nice downstairs and on the rooftop but the middle level is a bit unappealing to walk through.

We spent the day exploring around the acropolis and were very hungry. This restaurant was recommended. We walked to the restaurant and were there for an early dinner. We got very lucky and were able to get a table on the roof top right next to the corner with a perfect view of the acropolis. It was an unbelievable view. On the roof top you don't get access to the full menu - it is dinners only, not the bar menu. The food portions were large and the salmon was excellent! All or the other items we ordered were good as well. You can't beat this view!

We were able to get a seat without reservations and we loved our experience on the rooftop! We only had appetizers and drinks but everything was delicious and the view was fabulous. Service was a little slow as there was only 1 server at the time and about 10 tables. Not a deal breaker though.

Great view of the acropolis and some of the best food I’ve had. Greek food is one of my favorite types of food and this restaurant does not disappoint. From the large selection of Greek food to the amazing view of one of Greece’s most popular landmarks, this is the best restaurant to enjoy a nice dinner at. The service is friendly and quick. I had a great dining experience and even after my meal filled me up, I could not stop eating.

We visited the restaurant a few days ago. If you don't take into account that we refused water, but they brought it to us, spilled it and made us pay for it, everything was fine. Also found hair in the fish, but we had no problem replacing the fish with a new one, but it had a lot more bones than the previous one. And so the view is very beautiful, when booking indicated what table we prefer and it was taken into account. The rest of the food is delicious and there are no questions.

I’m so happy to have visited this restaurant — the environment is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning view of part of Greece. Although the food was quite simple, it was prepared really well and tasted great. The only downside was the dessert, which was far too sweet and not really suited to the Asian palate. The view is breath taking. Entering to the restaurant, everything looks nice and luxurious, unfortunately some of the staff are not really nice. The host was really rude. If it wasn’t for our waiter, Stefanos, who was kind, I’d be putting 1 single star. The food was great, gourmet (small portions).

We arrived at 1 p.m. for our reservation, but the place seemed a bit abandoned at first — nobody greeted us at the door. After a while we went inside and found a waiter preparing tables, who told us we had to wait until everything was ready. It also took some time until we could place our order, but once we did, the waiting time until the food was served was perfectly fine. The waiter got a bit friendlier after he noticed we ordered a full meal and a nice bottle of wine. As the restaurant started to fill up, it became clear that one waiter alone wasn’t really enough, even though there weren’t that many guests yet. The food itself was okay — nothing exceptional, but enjoyable. The highlight is definitely the view, which makes the visit worthwhile. Would I recommend it? Yes, kind of — just make sure to bring enough time if you go there for lunch.

THE VIEW. Very hard to find the restaurant BUT the view once you found it was worth it. *ADVICE: get there 30 minutes before your dinner time because you have to buy a ticket and then wait on a long line to get shuttled up the mountain.* I did knock off one star for the food only because the prices were high for the quality we received: we paid €40 for 3 small lamb chops and €51 for lobster pasta that only had about 3 bites of lobster. Overall I rated it 5 stars because the host, who may have been the owner, had amazing hospitality, and come on…look at the view, and the cats!!

We had the most amazing meal at this restaurant. Had one of the most beautiful views of the city. Our server, Stavros, was attentive and courteous and made the experience that much better. Take the funicular up the mountain ($13 euros round trip), they arrive every 15 minutes. We decided to sit outside, and despite the heat there is alot of wind at the top of the mountain. Recommend booking your reservation in advance as it fills up quickly.

Wonderful dinner at a lovely setting. Staff were excellent. Definite try the oven made eggplant and the sea bream fish. Those were outstanding. Chicken dish was a bit dry. But all in all a very tasty dinner. Do go a bit earlier 530-630 to avoid the dinner queue as well.

The ingredients were fresh and of excellent quality, and the dishes were simply delicious. The service was warm and hospitable. Prices were very fair — even the lamb, which is often quite expensive in Europe, was surprisingly affordable here. A thoroughly satisfying experience.

Well what a little gem this turned out to be. Some of the best Greek food we’ve had in Athens and I would highly recommend visiting this taverna but be warned if you don’t pre book you could be in for a wait but it’s definitely worth it. All meals were great and I the flavour was phenomenal. Don’t go for your souvlakia try the other meals on the menu you will be very pleasantly surprised. Oh and a must are the Dolmades, χόρτα and Marinated anchovies (if you lean that way).

First meal in Athens and my expectations were very high. You have a specific idea of how you want the meal to be and let me tell you this was everything I had hoped for, from the salty anchovies to how the zucchini was fried, and my first greek salad, this is food that can rival Italy in its own way. I would say this was a fantastic first spot and a must try if you are in the area. Side note, we tried the Ekmek desert and while good it was too sweet for my taste, so try something else if you don’t like overly sweet.

We had a really nice dinner here! The food was absolutely delicious — we ordered the grilled squid and the dorado, and two portions were more than enough for four of us. Everything was super tasty, including the fresh salad. The only downside was that we had to wait quite a long time for our order, and even the drinks took a while to arrive until we reminded the staff. Still, the service was polite, and they brought us some really tasty bread, which was a nice touch. Overall, a very good place — great food, cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting!

One of the must see areas of Athens and Saita is located in this region. It was a lovely experience after having walked all day along. We haven’t tried much but what we had was so delicious. Quite busy restaurant, should book your table in advance.

A small restaurant near the Acropolis. We had to wait a long time for a waiter until we started calling him ourselves. The portions were a decent size, but the soulaki had no sauce and very few vegetables.The staff was very friendly.

Beautiful decor with a relaxed vibe, and the food was delicious. Wish we were more hungry to try more dishes! We ordered the oven baked lamb, zucchini rolls, and the kebab - all very good, but I think the kebab was our favorite.

5 stars all round. Excellent service, delicious food, and tasteful décor. Thoughtful details like sanitised cutlery show real care. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked in small cubes. The hand-cut chips were seasoned beautifully. They cater for groups of all sizes, though I recommend booking ahead if you want an outdoor table.

Wow what a great find in Athens! First, the ambiance. It is nice and airy and so beautiful. Next the staff. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The food was delicious. The cheese was amazing! The squid cooked to perfection and the hummus and dolmas were incredible too. The veggies with peanut butter were so good too and great way to sneak in veggies. Recently stumbled upon this GEM on our honeymoon in Greece and wish we found it sooner. The food was amazing - best we had in all of Greece. Their calamari was to die for. Octopus was also amazing as well as their lamb orzo. The place was very busy and we did not have a reservation. They were able to seat us after waiting a few minutes. The server forgot to bring us water after asking 3 times for it, but we were happy to have a table. Food was worth it!!!

Before coming to Athens I did some research on good restaurants. Ella’s was on my list. So I went there on the first evening. The place is larger than expected. I could easily grab a chair. It has tables on both sides of the building and others inside (on street level and mezzanine). The food was delicious and the service was friendly and fast. With two glasses of wine, tap water, baked chick peas, pita bread, lamb orzo and octopus I ended up paying roughly 60 Euro, which is totally fair for the quality and average level for good places in Athens (to my experience).

First and foremost I would like to thank you for the great hospitality and the laidback atmosphere while serving fantastic food. We visited 3 or 4 times in a short time span, trying as much as we could. I can say hands down that everything we tried was fantastic, from the Giouvetsi, zucchini fritters, baked Feta to the absolutely mouthwatering Black Pork Souvlaki. The smell(and taste of course) of the latter will stick with me for probably a lifetime. Would also like to thank Nodas and the rest of the staff for the great service and conversation. Upon stepping into Cafe Avissinia we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the cozy, and romantic atmosphere. The service and food were exceptional, the pricing is so affordable. We enjoyed it so much we went there twice while on our recent three day trip to Athens. They do have rooftop seating with an incredible view of Plaka and the Acropolis. If you want to guarantee a rooftop seat you should call and make reservations. The staff speak excellent English so communication is easy. We enjoyed sitting in the restaurant listening to the live music. It’s a restaurant with great food and atmosphere. I’d highly recommend the experience for yourself.

We visited this establishment for lunch on a weekday during our first trip to Athens. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The staff was courteous. The owner, Nikolas was very friendly and took the time to chat with us and make recommendations. It was obvious to us that the owner, the chef, and the servers all take great pride in the food created there.

This place is simply extraordinary. At first glance, it might look like a tourist trap — but don’t be fooled. This restaurant has been around for decades, long before the area became popular. It carries the soul of old Athens, and the food is nothing short of spectacular. You’ll find dishes here that are rare and deeply memorable — like sardines stuffed with herbs and wrapped in vine leaves, or exquisitely prepared fresh fish. I’ve heard the lamb is outstanding too, though I don’t eat meat myself. Even the salads are extraordinary! The ambiance is warm and authentic, with beautiful artwork scattered throughout the space. And if you sit on the terrace, you’ll have a stunning view of the Acropolis glowing in the evening light. A magical dining experience — elegant, rooted, and full of surprises.

Booked table at rooftop but it was too warm. A table on the ground floor suffices with the fantastic sumptuous Greek food and juices. Enjoyed ourselves soaking in the homely ambience.

We had the Moussaka and Kleftiko, with Retsina wine and house Rose. The Moussaka was the best I’ve had in Greece so far, the Kleftika was fabulous, the view was just magnificent! Our waiter went with our flow. We just had a fabulous evening. You have to book, but what makes this restaurant so special is…it has the beautiful view, really good food, food service and you do not have to pay a booking fee or a fee to sit on the roof terrace! Go for the view…but also for the food, atmosphere and service!!

This is one of the best restaurants in Athens in my opinion. If you’re looking for authentic Greek food, you absolutely have to try this 120-year-old traditional spot. The decor is beautifully old-fashioned and charming. For those who enjoy a classic and nostalgic atmosphere while dining, this is the perfect place—right in the center of Athens. Prices are also very reasonable, around €20 per person or less.

We stayed in Monastiraki for our vacation in Athens...a delightful mix of culture, sea, and good food, and I can definitely count "Krasopoulio" among the best restaurants in Athens. We savored authentic, traditional Greek cuisine using top-quality ingredients: from the exquisite moussaka to the homemade souvlaki and oven-baked feta cheese. The waiters were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

It was my first night in Athens, and our hotel receptionist recommended this restaurant—what an incredible choice! Let me just say, this was hands down the best Greek food I’ve ever had. I asked the waiter for their personal recommendation (which I highly recommend you do too), and I’m so glad I did. What I got wasn’t even on the menu—it was the meal of the day—and it was absolutely unforgettable. I went with my friend, and every single bite was bursting with flavor. Honestly, I could see this place earning a Michelin star if it were up to me. I never usually do this, but I asked to speak to the chef—who also happens to be the owner! She told me her parents were the previous owners, and you can taste that kind of passion and tradition in every dish. I actually teared up (haha!) because it was that good. To top it all off, they surprised us with a little cake on the house—it was divine. I’m only in Athens for one day, but I already know I’ll be back before my trip ends. The staff were so warm, respectful, and welcoming. Truly an unforgettable dining experience!

The snails were great because they were freshly cooked so there was a bit of a wait. I expected that it is not a fast food joint. The rather fatty goat was delicious. Basic Cretan food and good value overall just don't expect any frills.

I sincerely hope that the owner sometimes reads reviews! And I'll be honest, everything was delicious... almost. But I'll leave a negative review. The cheese was brought in 45 minutes. I said that I don't eat goat cheese, but that's what they brought, I waited 45 minutes for jacket potatoes!!!, and the ribs were brought only after 55 minutes. My son and husband managed to eat the ordered dishes and get hungry again :)).

The Crete snail is my favorite! It is cooked with rosemary and vinegar, the snail doesn’t have any muddy taste( though it’s land snail) , a bit sweet and rich herb seasoning. It’s different from the sea ones, but equally good . Definitely worth of a try!

The only taste that was not impressive was the fish kebab which I don’t recommend. The service is very good, polite and friendly, atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. Was a bit noisy but it was due to a crowded table for a company event. When they left the place proved its value for a wonderful dinner.

Fantastic experience, incredible value. We had the tasting menu - lots of classic Greek flavours but with really inventive twists. Highlights were the veal with orzo and the squid. They were very accommodating to make a few changes based on our preferences, and the wine pairings were a treat - not necessitating the wines we would have reached for but gave us a new appreciation for the variety in Greek wine.

Been there with dine athens which means we had a standard menu. The service was veeery slow.. we waited every dish for like half an hour (we were there for 1hour and a half after reservation and we had only some bread and a starter). The food was ok, everything was delicious but nothing special, the portions were vey small though. We ended up leaving the restaurant hungry and went to another place for burgers. It s too expensive for what it offers.

Fine dining at its very finest. Dropped by to grab a bite with my best friend during a special event-like offer that they had this September. We had an 8-course menu filled with extravagant delicacies, some notable ones being; a tuna tartar dish with avocado sauce and apple, a fish kebab with harissa and eggplant sauce and a perfectly cooked cod with beetroot and garlic sauce. Would positively recommend, their food is very well worth the price tag!

Honestly we were pretty excited for our last meal in Athens. My husband and I are huge foodies and we were super excited for their tasting menu. When we arrived, we couldn’t find the restaurant as there was no sign or number.. finally found the correct restaurant when a waitress from a different restaurant took pity on us and showed us where to go. Were led to a table when we came in and discovered their tasting menu was nowhere to be found. Not sure if this was a choice for them not to offer us this or if they weren’t offering it tonight, but that was a huge let down. Food was decent, sommelier tried his best, but the rest of the service felt completely cold and uncaring. Waited forever for our check with no explanation as to why it took so long after asking. Very disappointing final night in Athens. I would definitely consider looking elsewhere for your food while you’re here. I feel mislead by the other reviews. Hopefully if you decide to go here, you experience one of their “on” nights.

One important tip: make a reservation! This place gets busy quickly, and we saw several people being turned away because there were no tables left. I’ve been to Couleur Locale a few times 3-4 years ago and was always happy about the food and service, however today’s visit was beyond disappointing. I’ll start with the positives: When we arrived at 10:50 for brunch there was only one big group of around 10 people and us (2 people). At the time there was only one waitress but we were immediately served with water and she took our orders. We received our coffees and juice very fast, all 3 very tasty. The waitress was also very nice and the view on Acropolis was too. That’s where the positives end. We ordered our breakfast (toast with fried eggs - first position on the menu) and waited 50 MINUTES for the food to arrive. The place wasn’t that full and noone can tell me that preparing this easy brunch takes that long. Each ingredient of the food tasted good, however the meal altogether was too heavy, too salty and too oily and we weren’t able to finish it as we already felt sick. I think adding more healthy stuff to the whole meal would balance it more. After that we had to wait another 20mins for waitress to notice us wanting to pay. Unfortunately we spent more than 1.5h in that place which to me is too much if most of the time is waiting We definitely won’t be back again

You have to know about this place to find it and yet somehow a lot of people know it! The view of the Acropolis is amazing! The atmosphere is wonderful and although we just had drinks and a cheese platter, it was excellent! The prices are quite reasonable and the view is incredible wherever you sit! Definitely going back!

Stunning views of the Parthenon. Great dj and friendly staff. Amazing craft cocktails. The burger was tasty but a little messy. The club sandwich was the star for both my husband and I. The fries were crispy. We cleared our plates. The service was a bit slow but it was close to sunset and the place was overwhelmed.

We tried the pita beef souvlaki. The place only sells souvlaki, not gyros, just to know. There are pork and beef options. I liked the souvlaki, the meat was soft, tasty and juicy, and the pita was very soft too. You should come here for a delicious souvlaki.

Amazing pita, with a tomato sauce instead of the tzatziki I've seen in other places. Super tasty, good price, good service. There are some tables outside to enjoy your meal. Must visit when in the surroundings.

Hands down, best gyro spot in Athens. For being in the dead city center, its prices are impressively cheap and its food is very delicious. The founder has been there for several decades and he was there when we went. We just asked him to make us something he recommended and thought we would like. He made us a beef gyro with a tomato sauce that I haven’t tried anywhere else. The beer is also $1.50 and well worth it. During lunch and dinner time, there will definitely be a line. The food comes out very fast.

It was really good so it does live up to the hype I would say by the lineup and wait gets pretty lengthy at times which is unfortunate. Food is fresh and the prices are fair so if you have the patience to wait or if you ever pass by and there’s no line I’d definitely recommend to give it a try.
