Le Greche is a popular gelateria in Athens, founded by Evi Papadopoulou who studied gelato-making in Italy. The gelateria has expanded to multiple locations and offers a wide variety of flavors that combine Italian and Greek ingredients.
Since this is one of the very few ice cream shops in central Athens that doesn’t display mountains of whipped ice cream, I decided to give it a try. The ice cream was creamy, with no ice crystals. It also held up well in the heat of July, only beginning to melt after several minutes. It wasn’t overly sweet, and the flavors were distinct. I had mascarpone and figs, and you could feel the difference between them.
Diego P — Google review
Le Greche is one of Athens’ most beloved gelato spots—and for good reason. The flavors are rich, creamy, and made with high-quality ingredients, blending Italian tradition with Greek flair. Yes, there’s often a line at the door, but don’t let that stop you—it moves quickly, and it’s absolutely worth the wait. Whether you go for the pistachio, the dark chocolate, or something fruity and fresh, you’re in for a treat. A must-try stop on a warm Athenian day!
Ufuk Y — Google review
I'm not an ice cream guy, but gelato I enjoy and this is among the best. They let you try several of their unique flavors before committing. I landed on the pavlova gelato and wow- it comes with berries and actual pavlova mixed into the gelato. Superb!
Austin G — Google review
To all my gluten-free and Celiac friends, My husband and I visited this ice cream spot. Everything was marked gluten free on the board. They even have a gluten-free cone. Not so much with the desserts but the cone. I loved how she handled the cone with tissue papers when she got it out the bag and filled it with the ice cream. It was delicious. I had no issues after eating it. Highly recommended

Great place to get ice-cream. Enjoyed ours. Located off Syntagma square. Would recommend to a friend. (my wife's hand on the photo, i don't use nail varnish).

Came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Gelato was excellent and a good variety of choices. Prices were good and service was friendly and quick.

BEST FIG sorbet ever!! They say sorbet but it's more gelato texture which i love it. Taste honestly like real fig😋😋 Yogurt was ok. Not strong yogurt flavour. But nice gelato texture 😋 And Waffle cone 👍👍 Staffs are kind too , speak English, thank you😂😂🙏
SHUNUT K — Google review
Le Greche is the best place for ice cream! They have the most unique flavors. Especially the ricotta was out of this world. I recommend you to have your ice cream in a brioche for a better experience.

Kokkion is a small ice cream shop located in the charming backstreets of Athens, surrounded by bars, skate shops, and vintage clothing stores. The shop offers a variety of unique and traditional flavors made with top-notch ingredients like buffalo milk, fresh sheep yogurt, and high-quality French chocolate. The ice cream is known for its tantalizing flavors such as bitter chocolate-passion fruit and raw almond-tonka bean.
So far, I've only tried the milk chocolate with 42% cocoa with orange and pepper (amazingly delicious!) at Kokkion, but trust me when I tell you that there are many other wonderful sounding flavors calling out for my attention here too. It's just a short walk from Monasteraki Square where there are plenty of other ice cream places. Pass them by, and try this very special place. You won't regret it!
Mary O — Google review
delicious ice cream, with 2 flavours for €4.80. I had mango sorbet and coconut.
Christina K — Google review
Delicious and friendly service! I went three times already and I have only been in Athens a week, love the coffee and Bailey's ice cream!
Sydney — Google review
Tried out Kokkion for ice cream. They had two dozen flavours including a few unique ones (such as bitter chocolate passionfruit). Scoops are 2,90€ (1 flavor), 4,80€ (2 flavors) or 6,00€ (3 flavors). Sampled a few flavors. - 3 flavors (6,00€) - pistachio (0,40€ extra), tangerine ginger and peach apricot rosemary. Scoops were generous and refreshing
J — Google review
I don’t understand how they don’t have a 5 star rating. Absolutely delicious ice cream! We had the raw almond and tonka bean, the chocolate and the Kaimaki. All were insanely good, especially the Kaimaki. You can taste the high quality ingredients!

So happy to discover this absolutely amazing ice cream shop on my last day in Athens. Totally blown away by the parfait special of the day and bitter chocolate with orange. So good that my friends went back twice more in the same day. Special shout-out to Maria for being so nice and patient with us while we took too long to decide our flavours from the massive list of options, and for brightening the whole experience with her beautiful smile and service! 😊
Wendy N — Google review
This was the best ice cream shop we visited in Athens (and we tried many)! The ladies running the shop were so kind and patient with us and our kids. The flavors were unique and everything we sampled was delicious. I love that there were Greek flavors along side more common flavors. We’ve been home a few weeks now and still think about this place. We recommended it to friends who were visiting Athens the following week and they also loved Kokkion.

Amazing ice cream at Kokkion! I had a medium cup with tangerine and ginger, and chocolate with cocoa—both flavors were delicious and unique. The perfect treat on a warm day in Athens. Highly recommend stopping by for a sweet treat!

Nestled in the bustling streets of Pangrati, Maraboo Ice Cream is a delightful gem where creativity meets flavor. Run by the passionate duo Vicky and Igor, this charming ice cream parlor offers an ever-changing menu that showcases their adventurous spirit. With a focus on fresh ingredients like fruits, herbs, and nuts, each day brings new surprises—think velvety chocolate avocado sorbet one day and unique cherry or bitter almond sorbet the next.
My whole party loved this place for both ice cream and sorbet. I got the pistachio sorbet, and while I’m not usually a sorbet person, I would come back for this one many times. It was perfect. A very rich pistachio flavor, unique to ones I’ve had before. Others in my group loved the fiordilatte, the salted caramel, and the milk chocolate. Also a good amount of ice cream for each scoop!
Jessie B — Google review
What a marvellous experience!!! What an amazing ice cream shop!!! Great, helpful, and smiley staff and super special, mouth watering truly Italian (I am Italian) ice cream. I chose the 'mango' flavour, sat on the bench outside and savoured the best 'sorbetto' I have ever eaten in my life. Thank you Maraboo ice-cream! I'll be back :)
Vita R — Google review
If you want ice cream in Athens, it is worth going out of your way to get here. Delicious, artfully created, ice creams and sorbets made with only the best ingredients. The basil and lime sorbet packs a punch of flavor with a smooth and creamy finish. We came here twice in our two days in Athens. Don’t miss it!!
Julie R — Google review
Came to Maraboo 2 years ago and couldn’t wait to return! Still as good as it was then. I never want to eat peanut butter any way except as a sorbet ever again! Exquisite, chef’s kiss.
Liz M — Google review
I was recommended the place by my Greek friends Martin & Christina. Lovely service, girls are so nice and full of good advice. Seasonal, eco-conscious, and by far the BEST ice-cream I've had outside Italy!! :)
Christopher F — Google review
The sorbets were fantastic - the best sorbet I've had for sure, super flavourful. Plus they're dairy free
Paul Y — Google review
Maraboo didn’t just save us from the oppresive Athenian heat — it redeemed my reputation as a parent. One bite of their sublime Basil Lime sorbet and I broke into an impromptu Zorba the Greek dance right there on the pavement. My 11-year-old daughter, world traveler and chocolate connoisseur, was mortified. She hasn’t spoken to me since. Naturally, I’ve taken her back to Maraboo every day to redeem myself — with scoops of what she now declares is “the best chocolate on the planet.” Still no forgiveness. but honestly… it was worth it. Family peace may melt faster than pistachio gelato in an Athenian August, but Maraboo is forever.
Richard R — Google review
The dark chocolate sorbet was the best I’ve ever had, even though it was sorbet! It tasted like the best, creamiest, darkest chocolate ice cream you could ever hope to put in your mouth! A double was 3.5 Euros, very reasonable.

Welcome to the whimsical world of Dickie Dee, a true paradise for Instagram enthusiasts! With its charming pink walls, this delightful spot serves up artisanal soft serve ice cream that looks as good as it tastes. Choose from five delectable flavors like fior di latte and salted caramel, or indulge in dark vegan chocolate and cookie dough. Each scoop can be adorned with tempting toppings or even a fluffy cloud of candyfloss for that extra flair.
The best ice cream in town! Their cookies are delightful, and I was truly amazed by the melomakarono-flavored ice cream.
Konstantinos K — Google review
I've been eating a lot of ice cream during my trip, and I wanted to eat soft serve ice cream because I often eat that in California. We found this place near Syntagma Square. I enjoyed the soft, creamy texture of the pistachio ice cream. I also tried the chocolate brownie sundae (Dickie cup). There was a bit too much whipped cream in it, and it overpowered the taste and texture of the ice cream. It was a nicely decorated place and friendly service.
Wendy L — Google review
Went in for some soft serve ice cream, Honestly I was expecting something better from the icecream itself and was a little disappointed… We got one Fior di latte and one pistachio which came to 8€. We were happy with everything except for the taste, the ice cream sadly tasted a little chemically(?) not the best soft serve I’ve had. On the other hand service was great and the portion sizes big.
Alisia T — Google review
The better icecream place around downtown of Athens. Thanks to their late-closing time, I could enjoy a great sweet icecream around midnight. The ice creams flavors are unique and in variety, I loved that even they had vegan ones! The staffs are really kind and helpful, the place is adorable and clean, tidy. Definately wanna go back! :))
Zeya J — Google review
They offer cookies and other small pastries as well as gelato and soft-serve ice cream. Would highly recommend the fior-do-latte and Sicilian pistachio soft-serve flavors 👍
Demir M — Google review
We got the strawberry pavlova. I think they have way better ones in the selection but those are not available at the time we arrived. Good strawberry sauce though, and presentation is beautiful but will order their popular salted caramel with cotton candy next time.
Gerald M — Google review
Absolutely delicious ice cream. A plethora of good flavors to choose from. Friendly staff and generous samples. Hands down the best in Athens.
Alexis H — Google review
Finally it opened up, was closed for almost 2 weeks without any notice. It was by a coincidence that we came by and saw it open. Gelatos are limited, soft serve have better options .. Took salted Carmel, was nice to try it out. A little bit pricy (4 euro for one flavor). I would recommend trying it out.

Ice cream shop
Django Gelato Athens is a popular gelato shop conveniently located near the Acropolis in the trendy Koukaki area. They take pride in offering the freshest gelato in town, making each batch on-site daily and serving it within 24 hours. The shop's open laboratory showcases artisan flavors that were originally only found on Syros island, now dazzling Athenians with their creamy textures and velvety fruit sorbets.
Got my favourite lemon sorbet and strawberry. Best one I had in Greece by far. The ambience of the place, the vibes and fun, the quality and the ethic policy they have... simple, amazing and honest AF!
Yorgos Z — Google review
Django serves what I think is the best gelato in Athens. The flavors are rich and perfectly balanced, with each scoop tasting fresh and full of natural ingredients. You can really tell they put care into crafting each batch, and the texture is smooth and creamy without being too heavy. Whether you go for a classic flavor or something more creative, it’s always a treat worth savoring.
Rathasart C — Google review
Easily the best gelato in Athens! Flavors are fresh, creative, and full of real taste (the pistachio and sorbets are next-level). Staff are super friendly, and the quality is worth every bite.
Jia L — Google review
This was my second visit to Django and, I must say, their gelato is top notch. My husband ordered a specialty flavor yesterday (some sort of banana cream). While it was not available as one of today’s assortments, we agreed it was one of the best banana flavored gelatos we have had anywhere. Tasted like a perfectly ripe banana whipped into a delicious dessert. Today, we ordered a chocolate gelato and a pineapple sorbet. Both were wonderful and I cannot recommend this place enough!
Serena J — Google review
Django Gelato in Athens was close to my hotel, and I ended up going there three times for ice cream. The staff were polite, the prices were good, and the gelato was creamy and delicious. I definitely recommend it!
Murillo P — Google review
Definitely one of the best sorbets I’ve had. They have a variety of flavours but my favourite was “melon” as it is very fresh. You can get in in a cone or a cup, the small one costs a little less than 3€ but it’s a generous portion. A nice spot to stop during exploring the city in the summer heat.
Leon Š — Google review
Raw & Salted pistachio ice cream was amazing. The peanut butter sorbet was great too. Worth a visit if you like your ice cream.
Nathan M — Google review
I'm an ice cream lover - when traveling to a new place, I would always look for the best ice cream in town. At Django, I had roasted almond and salted pistachio, and I can't recommend it enough! Delicious! Natural flavours, no added sugar, great texture - a real delight that I haven't had for a very long time. For sure one of the best ice creams I've ever had.

IceRoll is a popular ice cream brand known for its unique concept of making ice cream right in front of customers' eyes on a frozen surface. Founded in 2017, the brand has redefined the idea of fresh ice cream by using fresh milk from THESGALA and coconut milk for vegans, along with seasonal fruits and high-quality chocolates to create delicious ice cream rolls.
Such a cool place — Iceroll! They make the ice cream right in front of you, and you can choose all the ingredients. It’s like a fun little show, especially for kids! The portions are big, and the taste is amazing. The kids were so excited to create their own flavors and eat what they imagined. And just around the corner, there’s an amazing view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon — you can enjoy your ice cream while looking at one of the most famous landmarks in Athens. Cozy atmosphere, tasty treats, and a perfect location make this place ideal for a sweet break on a hot day!

So good! My wife and I went there three nights in a row (don’t judge lol). It was just so good and so customizable. It’s right in the center of the square and really was just so delicious. Going again tonight for our last night in Athens!
J — Google review
The rolled ice cream was decent but nothing special. Just cream and the topping you choose. The biggest downside was the portion size; there’s only one option, and it’s far too much for one person. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish it, and half ended up in the trash. Some flexibility with portion sizes would improve the experience.
Rihab B — Google review
My family who live in Athena brought my sister and I to this place and we absolutely loved it! The owner was very friendly and came to chat with us while we waited for our order. The dessert was amazing and the service was fantastic despite how busy they were that evening. Would highly recommend, prime location to take a break while walking on the strip!

I have to give 5 stars for the originality. They reinvented ice-cream with rare flavours inspired from local cuisine, big respect for this. Beyond this, the ice-cream was good (even if not in the top of the best ice-creams I ever had) and quite pricy. When you step into Solo Gelato, a charming gelateria nestled in Halandri with an additional location in Glyfada, you're not just indulging in ice cream; you're experiencing a legacy. Founded by Nikos Christogeorgos, this family-run establishment has been crafting exquisite gelato since the 1950s. Each batch is made fresh daily using time-honored recipes passed down through generations.
Very good quality of ice cream .All normal flavors and more . Convenient location near Chalandri square. Ice cream flavors are shown on buckets. Top quality of ice cream and nice flavors including sorbet and normal ice cream. Nice atmosphere inside , large shop and sitting area available. Coffee also available and other traditional products for sell like wine.
Spyros — Google review
Hands down the best gelato in Athens. Several flavours to choose from, all of which are excellent.
George — Google review
Delicious, quality gelato. Most people don’t understand that there is a difference between icecream and gelato, and gelato is only done the right way if it’s done the Italian way (in my opinion). I had the pistachio and the vogue chocolate. The pistachio had a very good flavor and it was not to sweet. It melted in my mouth! The. Chocolate was good too, but it predominated the pistachio flavor, so maybe this was not the right combination. Other than that this is very good quality gelato! The only reason I am not giving five stars is because of the staff. They could have explained more about the flavors and maybe tell me what flavors would complement well with the pistachio. I would definitely come back though! ⭐️
Samya Y — Google review
We dropped by past midnight & half on the way home, after having a sensational dinner at another part of the city. What a great choice indeed! A cornucopia of delights, making the choosing a challenge, as the offerings were rich in variety and each, seductive in its own right! Hard to choose, but one must do what has to be done. 😁 The establishment, aside from gelato, (don't just call it "ice cream"), has various offerings of beverages i.e. an array of coffees, mineral water, milkshakes, sandwiches, packaged products such as jams, ground coffee, preserves, even wine! The staff, even if it was just about closing time, was friendly and attentive. A def revisit in opportune time. 👍

Very good shop with different flavors to choose. You can enjoy both ice creams and milkshakes. Nice location, not far from the center square of Chalandri. Nice taste and very good. Little overpriced from regular normal ice cream. Beautiful inside. Have also some chairs outside that you can sit.

The ice cream is very tasty and of high quality. Although this is the first time that the almonds in one of the flavors were stale. This was a disappointment after so many good experiences.

Lartecono Davinci Gelato in Monastiraki is a popular spot among Greek ice cream enthusiasts and dessert lovers. Known for its rich and decadent ice creams, this shop has gained fame for its vibrant cones that often make appearances on social media. The focus on using fresh, high-quality ingredients without any additives or preservatives adds to the appeal of DaVinci's ice creams.
The ice-cream was the best we had! Pistachio tastes like pure pistachio which is rare to find. Also mocha and tiramisu are amazing. We ordered 2 scoops each, and that is quite enough for a dessert/snack. 5.5€ for this is totally worth it. Highly recommend.
Christoph — Google review
This is truly some of the best ice cream we’ve had in the heart of Athens. A must-try spot—perfect for enjoying a treat while taking a stroll through the city. Absolutely delicious!
ES S — Google review
Oh my goodness, L’Arte Cono Da Vinci is a gem! I popped in while wandering around the city, and I was absolutely wowed by the gelato. I went for the pistachio in a cone, and let me tell you, it was just perfect! The mocha and tiramisu flavors are also to die for. We each got two scoops, and honestly, it was the perfect amount for a little treat. And can we talk about that adorable waffle crisp on top? Such a cute touch, and the presentation was just delightful! They really have a fantastic selection of flavors. The gelato wasn’t too sweet, had an amazing texture, and the flavors were spot-on. It was definitely the best gelato I had on my trip! The staff were super friendly, and the service was quick, which made the experience even better. If you’re in the area and in the mood for something cold and scrumptious, you absolutely have to stop by! It's a must-visit for gelato lovers, and it's one of my favourite memories in Athens.

This gelateria is spotless and serves truly authentic Italian ice cream. The texture is incredible smooth, stretchy, almost gummy just as it should be. I had the pistachio ice cream in a pistachio cone, and it was perfect in every way. I cannot recommend it enough a must-visit for any gelato lover
Rihab B — Google review
Despite all the hype, this place didn't meet my expectations. The flavors were decent, but nothing special, and the customer service was disappointing. When I asked to sample a couple of flavors, the staff member rolled her eyes at my request... Poor service can really detract from the experience. Hopefully, management will address the attitude issues with their staff.
Angelina S — Google review
Absolutely delicious gelato! I stopped by L’Arte Cono Da Vinci while exploring the city and was blown away by how good it was. I tried the limoncello flavor and it was so refreshing, tangy, and smooth—perfect for a sunny stroll. The texture was creamy without being too heavy, and the flavor was vibrant and citrusy without being overly sweet. The little waffle crisp on top was a nice touch, and the whole presentation was super cute. Plus, the staff was friendly and the service was quick. If you’re in the area and craving something cold and delicious, definitely stop here. Highly recommend the limoncello! 🍋🍦

Best gelato place in Greece and I’ve tried a lot! Huge array of flavours. Not too sweet, texture is wonderful and flavours are spot-on. Had the bittersweet dark chocolate and passion-fruit today but also love dark chocolate and orange, yogurt, strawberry. This is my favourite branch in Athens as there is seating inside and out.

Today - Officina Gelato Gusto Italiano in Athens has been delighting locals with authentic Italian gelato for two years. The ice cream is made by Italian desserts expert Carmelo Chiaramida, using no artificial colorings or preservatives. Ingredients like fresh ricotta, mascarpone, pistachios from Sicily, and almonds from Avola ensure top-notch quality.
Stuff is very nice, helpful. Reasonable price. 2.9 euros for cappuccino with soy milk (cup to go). I sat and enjoyed the peaceful relax time. 3 shops from Ermou.

Delious! My child asked if they made it in house and she said yes, everything is made here. I had a friend tell me look for circular gelato containers with silver lids. That means it’s authentic. This place was delicious and held up to that recommendation. We will be back!

I had an ice cream at this shop about a month ago. There's a decent variety of flavors to choose from and the staff was helpful. It's, also, conveniently located close to syntagma SQ. The only thing is that the paper cups are a bit too small for 2-3 balls of ice cream.

Best ice cream I have ever tried in Grece!! My Greeks friends approve as well! Plus, the people working here are awesome!!! Once I said I wanted an ice cream they made me tried about 10 flavours without asking! The worst were to come… I needed to make a choice… So I took my ice cream and two additional thermal boxes for my friends that they have packed in an thermal bag and added ice to make sure the ice creams would survive my two hours journey back walking. I promised to tell them if it worked, and I am to say it did! Awesome! Thank you very much to the team! I won’t have the time to come back as I am leaving in 2 days, but next time I am coming in Athens I won’t miss the stop!! Really, if you like ice cream I strongly recommend you to give it a try! If you don’t you will really miss to discover what should be the must to do for ice cream lovers!

Stani is an authentic dairy patisserie that has been serving customers since 1931. It offers a traditional Greek yogurt made from sheep's milk, topped with honey and nuts, which is highly recommended for breakfast. The place also serves delicious loukoumades (Greek donuts) that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The friendly service adds to the overall experience.
We had breakfast at Stani and it was one of the food highlights of our visit to Greece. The selection of yogurt is impressive and the sheep yogurt was particularly tasty, being rich and very strong in sheep milk flavour. This place seems to have been added to the list of many travelers to visit (justifiably so), and so take note of the line up.

I live in Turkey, so we have same desserts too. The kataifi was amazing. Like most Greek dishes, it had cinnamon. The baklava wasn’t that great in my opinion Turkey has way better. The Greek coffee was awesome exactly same with turkish coffee. Desserts were tasty, coffee was thick and perfect :) wish I could’ve gone one more time.

Kpivos is a renowned pastry shop in Athens, known for serving the best loukoumades in the city. These Greek-style doughnuts are doused in honey and have been described as heavenly. The shop has been operating since 1923 and offers a traditional Greek feel with its decor. Customers praise the light texture and flavor of the loukoumades, which pair perfectly with ice cream.
A lovely, unpretentious spot to take a break while exploring the streets of Athens. The donuts were incredibly fluffy and light, not heavy on the stomach at all. The sugar syrup was just the right level of sweetness, and I highly recommend pairing it with vanilla ice cream for a perfectly balanced treat. They offer free tap water, and one portion of donuts with syrup and ice cream was just €5. It’s self-service, spacious, and has plenty of seating.

These are the world’s BEST loukoumades. They are light, fluffy, and made fresh in front of you. It is a traditional old shop, not sure of its history. I’m not sure what else they sold as this is what we came for. We had the traditional version with syrup and cinnamon. We visited twice they were so good. You can eat in or take away. Nothing fancy inside but the food more than makes up for this. Will make this a definite stop next trip to Athens
Vivian C — Google review
They've been making loukoumades since 1923 so I figured they're doing something right! The dining area is large, spacious and with it's old photos and memorabilia, it's quite nostalgic. We headed to the back to order - the menu is in Greek but Google Translate came to my rescue. We went for the traditional topping of syrup, cinnamon and walnuts. The loukoumades were warm and fresh - crisp on the outside (even with the syrup on top) and soft and fluffy inside. They were surprisingly light and totally delicious.
Samantha C — Google review
I visited on a weekday to try the loukoumades. You can either dine inside (self-service) or take them to go from the front counter. I opted for the classic version with syrup and cinnamon. You can also add chocolate, walnuts, and ice cream if you wish. The dough was excellently fried—not greasy, light, and crisp even after being soaked in syrup. They were served slightly warm. The syrup wasn’t overly sweet, which I appreciated, especially given the generous amount. The cinnamon flavour was maybe a bit too mild for my taste.
Diego P — Google review
Was quite the far walk but the loukamadas were delicious, they put so much honey on them there was lots for dipping. There is construction going on the street outside the restaurant so it was a little hard finding the store

This is the one and only truly top spot for traditional Asia Minor desserts. Their Ekmek with mastic ice cream is unparalleled. I've been coming to this place well over 30 years and it just never gets old. Amazingly, nothing has changed to the tastes and the quality through the decades. No surprise that in the evening you have to wait for quite some time to get seated but it's all worth it. Very nice place, nothing pretentious, you can find trendy student folks on one table and 70 year old ladies on the next and it all blends nicely. The place has character and simplicity. Very nice ice cream in the city center of Athens. Everything is homemade and delicious and the lady who sells it is very friendly. The icecream has very nice local flavours. She also feeds the neighbouring cats daily so we gave her some cat food to feed the cats.

If you pass by here without stopping you are making a huge mistake. The fresh fruits and flavors really shine through. I don’t even like cherry and I ate my cherry granita. An experience so amazing, it has made me change the way I go about rating anything in the future. Every single ice cream sounds divine, we tried four and can't begin to describe how good it was. Take the time to go here instead of any gelato place nearby or in the city. 6/5.

This place was a highlight in Athens. Little place with homemade Greek flavors. First off I almost never order ice cream cause I don't usually care for it but this place is different. We ordered mastiha flavor(resin from a tree used to make liquor) and cream flavor. The ice cream wasn't ice cold which I loved and it had a stickier consistency which was delightful. I also ordered a lemonade which was amazing. The lady who ran it squeezed it fresh and used the whole lemon so I got some of the flesh bits as well which was amazing. I only like fresh lemonade and this beat anything I've had from a shop. If I'm ever in Athens again I hope this place is still around. I'll be returning if I can. Highly recommend a visit to get real quality ice cream made with local ingredients and care.

L' Arte Del Gelato is a delightful haven for ice cream lovers, renowned for its exceptional chocolate creations that draw eager crowds. Seasonal specialties such as Chocolate with Amarena Cherries and Chestnut-Chocolate add to the allure.
A Hidden Gem for Quality Ice Cream They may not have a huge variety of flavors, but the ones they do offer are top-notch—especially the pistachio. First day in Greece, first place I tried — and wow, what a “warm welcome.” The ice cream itself was fine, but the service was… creative. I picked ONE flavor, the staff asked me which cone I wanted, and apparently that magically meant “please give me TWO scoops of the exact same flavor.” Because clearly everyone dreams of eating a mountain of one single flavor, right? I ended up walking away with a giant cone I never asked for, feeling more annoyed than hungry.

Buffalo Gelato in Athens is clearly a popular spot, and for good reason – it’s centrally located and offers a wide range of interesting and refreshing gelato flavours. When we visited, the place was quite busy, which is usually a good sign. Despite the crowd, service was impressively quick and efficient. I opted for the Mango Tango flavour, which was genuinely delicious – fruity, smooth, and packed with tropical flavour. It hit the spot and felt like a great choice on a hot day. However, I was disappointed with the portion size. My cup wasn’t filled as generously as I expected, especially given the premium price point. It felt like there should have been more for what I paid, and the portion didn’t match what others around me seemed to be receiving, which was frustrating. That brings me to the pricing. Buffalo Gelato is definitely on the expensive side. While you do expect to pay a bit more in such a central, tourist-heavy area, it still felt a little steep for the amount you get. It’s one of those places where the location is clearly factored into the cost – you’re paying for the experience of enjoying gelato in the heart of Athens, not just the gelato itself. Overall, Buffalo Gelato delivers on flavour and speed, but the value for money could be improved. If you’re in the area and craving something cold and sweet, it’s still worth a stop – just be prepared for higher prices and keep an eye on your portion size.

We loved the Gelato here. The crepes looked amazing, but were too full for both. The lines Can be long and a tad slow, but worth it.

Bufala is a must-visit in Athens, with lots of selection to choose from from ice cream to crepes. The store is clean, with some outdoor seating in the square. The staff here are friendly, although there was a mistake where we were given the wrong crepe. Thankfully, this was corrected quickly.

Good ice and crepes buffalo the best staff very keen Nd and professional
GIUSEPPE V — Google review
Next time, please wait a bit before serving the waffle – if you put the whipped cream on while it’s still super hot, it melts and soaks the whole waffle, making it soggy and inedible. Also, when making the American pancakes, please don’t take new orders at the same time, because ours ended up being overcooked as well. It’s a pity, because the flavors could have been really good.
Rebeka P — Google review
We ordered through the machine and paid. Then, at the counter, they told us that the cone type we selected wasn’t available — that wasn’t a problem, we accepted a different one. But then they said the ice cream flavor we wanted wasn’t available either. They should either update the machine or inform customers beforehand. I gave 2 stars because we received a refund.

Parisian prices in Athens for mediocre to bad desserts, I've tried many of their desserts to give a fair chance but even their macarons(2.2€) for ex. are not that great, I've had better macarons from a shop that doesn't specialize in desserts near Acropolis. Overall the taste, portion size and quality of most desserts are not satisfactory, I finally give up on them after trying one more dissapointing dessert(their vanilla eclair), there are better dessert businesses to support.
Kate T — Google review
Everything taste good and very friendly service. They are not too sweet. I would prefer a smaller portion of the white chocolate tart for one person. This one is good for sharing.

It’s a nice small cafe in the busiest street of Athens, with chairs outside to sit and enjoy the variety of sweet snacks they have with coffee. The service was so so, but everything else was absolutely fantastic.

Great coffee and flawless desserts. Must try are the raspberry chocolate cake and the orange choux. Their chocolate cake are in general very good and not too sweet. I wasn't too impressed by their ice cream to be honest. However, it's definitely a great place to have desserts and coffee. And yes, it's a bit pricey, but it's very helpful to avoid over-ordering and gaining too much weight. Lol

I’ve been buying pastries from this shop since the first day it opened and I’m really satisfied by most of the products. My favorite is the macaron (a must try). It’s a bit overpriced but the quality really pays you off!!

In addition to their delicious gelato, they also serve original Italian espresso or cappuccino and a selection of brioche, crepes, and waffles. Despite being a bit pricey at 2.

One of the best places in Athens to enjoy your icecream. Original and pleasant taste. Velvety texture that melts in the mouth. A little bit expensive (2.20€/scoop) but it's worth it. In Psychiko it is take away and parking is hard to find. A strange thing is that the staff changes very often... Maybe problems with administration. Although the taste of the ice-cream is perfect.

One of the best italian gelati in Athens! BUT...the customer experience is not so good. Buying 1,5kg of gelato, I have paid 35€ and when I asked for 2 cones they employee asked me for 0.6€ as it is the store policy. Apart the fact that the cones are free offered in the majority of Gelaterie, it is not gentle and smart when a customer is paying this amount not to give free 2 cones!!

Fresko Yogurt Bar Acropoli is a cozy cafe near the Acropolis that offers a delightful selection of Greek yogurt and smoothies. The Greek yogurt is sourced from local producers, offering options like 2%, 5%, 10% fat content, or even goat fresh yogurt. Toppings include locally sourced honey, fruit preserves, fresh fruits, nuts, and spoon sweets. Customers can enjoy the creamy and delicious yogurt with various toppings while sitting comfortably in front of the bar.
Delicious yogurt. So smooth and creamy. Lots of toppings. We tried a couple of their favorites the Greek escape and a taste of Athens. Both were really good. We did prefer the one with fruit in it. So if choosing toppings fruit is a great addition and every fruit we have had in Athens tastes amazing. We were in a line after about 4 people and it took about 10 minutes.

Nice Greek yogurt snack, you can choose a yogurt menu item or pick your own toppings. Overall a bit expensive for what is was. But conveniently located along a popular walking street, only about 2 places to sit outside but you go sit across the street easily on a sunny day.

I had this little place marked as want to go. I did have a chance when walking around Acropolis and it did not disappoint. Great selection of fresh, refreshing yoghurt. We had two different options to try and share. Both flavoursome, generous and rich. The little bar is busy, people go for yoghurt treats or yoghurt ice-cream. There aren’t any benches or tables to sit and enjoy the treat, it is more of on the go snack. Staff are attentive, pleasant and friendly. Highly recommend making a quick stop here.

Frozen yogurt shop
Yogolicious is a popular frozen yogurt shop in Monastiraki that offers unique flavors and sweet toppings. The thick and creamy texture is perfection for both cooking and desserts, making it a must-try for travelers to Athens. The cherry confiture and strawberries cut into small pieces combo is one of the most popular options, but there are many others to choose from.
I accidentally found this place under the Acropolis. The yogurt ice cream is delicious. You can choose various types of toppings, starting with confiture, ending with chocolate sprinkles and dried fruit. A typical Greek choice is cherry confiture and strawberries cut into small pieces. I liked it so much that I came back the next day.
Rovshan A — Google review
Not many flavors yet good selection of toppings. Nice and friendly staff. Taste is ok, nothing special. Yogurt in a sprinkled cone looks awesome and very instagrammable but melts and gets messy really fast.
Anastasia B — Google review
Terrible place We bought ice cream and there was a bug inside. The bug was on the bottom so there's no way it flew in to the ice cream while we were eating it. We asked for some sort of compormise such as a refund, and not only they didn't give us neither of these, they were being totally rude to us, lauging and saying that we just randomly put a bug in our ice cream just to get money. Plus the service was terrible and we definitely do not recommended going there, unless you like bugs in your food.
Gaya P — Google review
My bad for trying their gelato when the shop name clearly indicates yoghurt. But then again, the gelato was very mellow in taste. It is purely just the cream with no additional texture to it. Moreover, the serving proportion was extremely stingy for 2.20€. Granted that we ordered a single scoop for each, but that’s barely a scoop. More of a scrape of gelato. Whatever you see in my picture is really all the gelato there is in the cone. It’s basically an empty cone inside. A slight plus side would be the smoothie for 4€. Made by blending natural fruits with their own yoghurt. Honestly can be a little tough to “drink” when it is freshly served. More of a test of your sucking power. Nonetheless, still relatively delicious and a slight savior to my experience here.

The Ice Cream Shop, located in the heart of Athens on Monastiraki Square, has gained a stellar reputation for its award-winning gelato. Despite its suburban location, it managed to outshine Italian gelato-makers at the 2012 European Ice Cream Championship. The shop offers a variety of flavors including gluten- and lactose-free options, as well as handmade Greek and Italian sweets.
The Ice Cream Shop is a lovely little oasis in the middle of the busy square of Athens' train station. Their lime and basil ice cream is a cool blessing for visitors in a hot Greek summer. One may take an ice cream cup to go and enjoy it while walking in one of Athens' most vibrant neighbourhoods.

First time I encountered anyone in the service industry here in Athens with an attitude! The gentleman with a short brown wavy hair needs to learn how to remove his condescending tone when speaking to customers. If my feet didn’t need rest so badly, I would have looked for another place. Gelato was just ordinary. The location has a nice view of people moving about the monastiraki square.

The Best Ice Cream Ever… But We Have a Mint Chocolate Emergency! For three glorious years, this has been the only place I get ice cream. I don’t even look at other ice cream shops. They don’t exist to me. This place? -Elite. Their flavors? -Unmatched. But their mint chocolate? - Oh, that is sent straight from the heavens. An actual masterpiece. The Leonardo da Vinci of ice cream flavors. So imagine my absolute horror when I walked in, ready for my usual, and—GONE. No mint chocolate. Just… vanished. Like it never existed. I checked the menu twice, asked the staff (probably with the face of a lost child), and still, no sign of it. Listen, I don’t know if this is temporary or a cruel joke, but if this flavor is gone forever, I might need to start a support group. 😂 Or stage a protest. Please, for the sake of humanity (and my sanity), bring it back! Otherwise, five stars forever—but my heart will never recover. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nestled in the vibrant Koukaki neighborhood of Athens, Sugar Killer is a delightful gem that has quickly captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. This vegan ice cream shop offers an impressive array of fresh, sugar-free flavors that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. From the rich Vegan Ferrero to the indulgent salted caramel and dark chocolate options—both spicy and plain—there's something for everyone. The strawberry with brownie bits is another must-try!
I’m not usually a fan of “sugar free” branded food. But damn this was good. No weird stevia/fake sweetener off flavors but also not sickly sweet like many ice creams can be. And while I like coconut milk, I feel that it can be overpowering in vegan ice creams. Not here! They managed to leverage every bit of the coconut creaminess without the powerful coconut flavor. Instead the main flavors of the ice cream shine through. Every flavor I sampled was delicious, but I went with a scoop of the ferrero (tasted just like the candy). My only regret is not getting another scoop.
Sanah B — Google review
After dinner we went walking to explore the wonderful Plaka area. As we walked we came across this shop called Sugar Killer. Curiosity crept in so I had to go in. I could clearly see it was an ice cream shop. Being vegan, I thought, maybe they have a few vegan sorbets. Little did I know that the whole place was vegan and sugar free! I was like a kid in a candy store. They had all sorts of amazing flavors of coconut cream and milk based frozen desserts, made with stevia and agave. It was literally a plant-based person's sweet heaven! We will certainly be going back. I got the tiramisu, my wife got the cinnamon and my son the hazel nut. All of them were amazing! If you are a vegan, and love dessert, you MUST try this place. Must! We have been back at least 3 times. I try something new each time. Sooooooo yummy 😋

Baklava ice cream — enough said. This place actually has so many flavors and is more enticing one than any other ice cream shop we walked by. The baklava ice cream was so good we came back multiple times for it. The cone is delicious as well. I wish we had more room to try more ice cream and pastries because I would try everything here, it all looked delicious. Everything is vegan but don’t let that scare you away because I went with a non vegan and he loved it more than any other ice cream.

InLoveAgain is a trendy pastry store that opened in September 2021, created by the team behind Athens' renowned bar Baba Au Rum. The store offers a warm and open space filled with lush plants for sale, where visitors can enjoy artisanal coffee and delectable desserts inspired by the famous cocktail list of Baba Au Rum. The cozy ambiance and elegant decor make it an ideal spot to savor amazing coffee and jaw-dropping delicacies.
This patisserie has one of the best desserts in the city. We tried spicy baba and mastiha & pistachio rocks. Both were amazing. Coffee was a bit strong.

The only place in the center we go for coffee and dessert. The two girls who are making them, they don’t just execute a recipe, they make art! ❤️ One of them is an expert in making vegan choices absolutely delicious. Well done! It’s a must if you visit Athens.

Very good atmosphere, super chill. The sugar free brownie is very good. Still sweet but not too much. It has chuck of nuts too. There are so many beautiful cakes. They have many vegan options too

This is such a great coffee spot! Off the main road from the busy Syntagma Square, it has room to breathe and sit. We arrived at 10 am to find it without customers and were worried it might be a tourist trap, but decided based on high ratings that we’d risk it. It is absolutely no trap! The owner was working and she was so kind and welcoming. The shop has a vinyl record player playing relaxing music and the desserts are both delicious and beautiful. I ordered a freddo espresso (espresso over ice) and it was rich, medium-high acidity with a chocolatey after taste. My fiancé ordered a cold brew which the owner told us is left to brew over 12 hours each night and my fiancé said it was also very good. We also got a large chocolate chip cookie to go which had such large chunks of chocolate in it! The cookie dough itself was a shortbread like consistency with a buttery taste and a soft center and perfectly crispy edges. A delicious cookie to be sure! This place is a 10/10 for us and we’d recommend anyone looking for good coffee come to try it!

What a wonderful spot! I’m so glad we found such a calm and charming place right in the middle of a busy area. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, the service is excellent, and the coffee is absolutely amazing. We also tried one of their exclusive desserts — the chocolate mousse — and it was simply divine. So delicate, perfectly balanced, and a real treat for any chocolate lover. The presentation was beautiful too, with unique cups and great attention to detail. Everything felt thoughtful and high-quality. Can’t wait to come back — to be continued!

Went to have a quick coffee and a pastry. The unique pastry off the menu was great, but the vegan brownie was extremely dry and not chocolatey enough. Coffees were great and the stuff was attentive

Sushi Lunchi is a small, authentic sushi restaurant that offers exceptional poke delights. The dishes are superb, made with the freshest ingredients and bursting with incredible flavors. Each poke bowl is a work of art, beautifully presented and filled with vibrant colors. The attention to detail in both the food and service is impressive, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The inviting ambiance adds to the overall charm of the place.
Pricey, but very tasty and good-sized portions. The sake bowl was delicious, with a generous serving of salmon, and the lime-lemon-chili sauce really made it special. Staff were very kind and attentive.

Incredibly fresh and tasty. They have the traditional rolls with a twist of their own flavors and some original plates that are just absolutely delicious. My only sorrow was not to know about this place before our last day in Greece. The host was friendly and took the time to answer all our questions about the food and chef. Truly a place you can not miss. Here pics of some of the dishes we had, all full of delicious flavors.

The food here is absolutely delicious, fresh and full of flavor. The service is excellent — everyone is warm, attentive and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get, truly great value. The eel sushi is simply outstanding! I also had a lovely time chatting with the chef, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommended! 🌟

We had two sushi bowls here tonight, and we were pleasantly surprised with how fresh the fish was for the price! We might go as far to say it was close to how a chirashi or other similar kind of bowl is made in Japan. Other poke bowl or charisma bowl establishments in Europe all steer more towards the Hawaiian style but Sushi Lunchi keeps the essence of a sushi bowl quite authentic. We also got the fish of the day, which was 4 slices of sashimi for €3. That is a STEAL. The staff also treated us to delicious complimentary matcha ice cream which was very tart and flavorful. We will definitely be back whenever we are in Athens!

A wonderful and delicious place!!! A true gem. A small sushi restaurant that feels very authentic. We ordered pressed rolls and a sushi bawl, both of them were delicious, the fish felt very fresh. The service was great, the food was ready fast and we got free ice cream. Would recommend 100%

It's a great place to have breakfast, a quick snack or dinner. Very welcoming staff, nice food, and pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy the food in a peaceful and cozy way. If I ever come to Athens again, I will visit this place for sure.

This place is great for taking rest and eating little snacks at any time during the day. They've got a space upstairs and a great choice of desserts, greek pastries and salted meals. A good place for introducing Greek pastries. The staff is nice and enough fast.

Coffee sandwiches and sweets. Not the best but it is alright. We tried the sweets. The traditional sweets were ok. The kids liked the meringue. You can sit on the ground floor or upstairs or you can pick you stuff and go. The place is very clean. All in all a just fair experience. The waitress was very nice an smiling.

We were hooked by the assortment of the pies and tartlets of this store. Especially the apple was very tasty, but also the walnut cafe and chocolate mousse mini cake. Unfortunately we came too late to grab dinner but the displayed dishes looked really good too and would have been a welcome change to gyros and souvlaki. The staff was very nice and friendly. We also got an Easter yeast cake/bread as a gift; pretty extensive with over 6€ but oh well. They said everything is made in house.

Great place for a quick bite to eat or a spot of brunch. They have tasty wraps, sandwiches and cakes to take away or eat in. I didn't try the coffee but it looked good. The staff were very nice and the seating area and toilets are well maintained.

Nice staff. Good food here. This place offers both take away and eat in for bakery, savory and desserts. The baklava is very nice. The ice cream is awesome. They have second floor where you can hanngout after long walk in Plaka, Monastiraki, Acropolis and close area. Their coffee is also nice and aromatic. However, the toilet downstairs are very smelly and not that clean. Overall, I had good experience with this restaurant. :)

I had a delicious salmon and eggplant plate for £14. I thought it tasted a little bitter, but I think it's just me not being used to Greek palettes. This place also has a huge selection of takeaway foods and sweets. It is located near the famous Monastiraki Square and literally right in front of a shopping street (like an outdoor mall).

Maxim is a renowned bakery in Athens known for its delectable Middle Eastern sweets and treats. They offer two varieties of baklava, one with walnuts and the other with pistachios. Belle Vue is famous for their baklava kuru, a flaky pastry filled with Aegina pistachio nuts, while Papaparaskevas in Glyfada is celebrated for their perfect saragli (baklava rolls).
If you visit Nea Symirni, you should definitely stop by and get so many delicious desserts at Maxim. They are amazing and the shop owner’s hospitality and help makes you like you are home. If you're in Athens and have a sweet tooth, you absolutely must stop by Cats & Monsters - Vegan Ice Cream. This delightful spot specializes in all-vegan, homemade ice cream that is simply out of this world! The friendly owners are passionate about their craft, ensuring that every scoop is made with high-quality ingredients. From unique flavors like melon to the intriguing feta cheese paired with peach, there's something for everyone—even those who aren't strictly vegan will find themselves enchanted by the taste.
Thanks so much for everything! I got my vegan birthday ice-cream cake from Cats & Monsters together with some pre-ordered vegan tiramisu individual packs! Communication was excellent! The owner was super friendly and nothing was too much to ask for. The packaging of the ice-cream cake was done very carefully. If you are around the area, this place is a MUST visit and definitely must try all the ice- cream flavors. All vegan, all home made, all delicious!! Can’t recommend them highly enough!

A very nice addition to the Exarcheia neighboorhood. It is all vegan ice-cream, with both imaginative and all-time classic flavours. The texture was great, very creamy and rich, although if you have over two scoops it is a bit heavy. Prices are very affordable. I recommend the Hazelnut Rum flavour!

With cozy seating options inside and outside amidst a lovely plant nursery, it’s the perfect spot to indulge in creamy delights while soaking up the local atmosphere. Though slightly off the beaten path for tourists exploring Athens, Zillions is definitely worth seeking out.
The best quality ice cream I’ve tasted. Zillion’s might be a little off track if you’re a tourist in Athens, but it’s well worth a visit. The place was exceptionally clean. At Marabou Tavern, you’ll discover a delightful array of handmade ice creams crafted without any artificial ingredients or preservatives. Indulge in their salted caramel and the traditional kaimaki flavor, which combines masticha, cream, and cherry syrup for a nostalgic experience with its unique rubbery texture. Hans & Gretel | Golden Hall is a delightful gem in Athens that transports you into a whimsical world inspired by fairy tales. This enchanting spot specializes in delectable Hungarian roll cakes, which can be customized with an array of mouthwatering fillings like ice cream, nuts, and chocolate. The atmosphere is filled with sweets galore, featuring both hard and soft candies to satisfy any sweet tooth. The staff here are not only friendly but also embrace the storybook theme through their charming attire and warm service.
The only place in Athens who offers the tastiest hungarian rolls cake fullfilled with what ever you want from their tasty ice cream, nuts, chocolate and more. Sweets every where, you can pick from a variety of hard candy and soft one. They are super clean super friendly and always dressed up as the story theme and not to forget the whole place is from the story actually. So please give them a visit and enjoy their sweets .

Horrible service!Bought a few sweets and without even asking me how I would prefer to have them packed, the girl behind the counter gave them to me in a paper bag. I requested her to box them for me to which she replied that they were out of boxes. I was quite sure that she was lying...so I insisted that she pack them in a box and rightly enough she did have a box( not one but many more)...not a word from her thereafter...An apology would’ve been nice but I guess nothing could’ve covered for her blatant lie...totally unprofessional!

It's a magical place during Christmas. The decor is lovely. A lot of different kinds of sweets to choose from, the icecream looks amazing. I didn't try it, but this place is worth visiting!

(Translated by Google) I can't believe how it is possible for a piece of red velvet and an Oreo cookie as well as AND the chocolate chip cupcakes we got to be all so stale they can only be cut with a chainsaw. So these shopkeepers think that this is how they will make their shop sustainable? Selling us rocks? Is it ever possible for people to still believe that they will go forward with a rapture? (Original) Δεν μπορώ να πιστέψω πως είναι δυνατόν ένα κομμάτι red velvet και ένα Oreo cookie καθώς επίσης ΚΑΙ τα στο σοκολατένια καπκεικ που πήραμε να είναι όλα τόσο μπαγιάτικα που να κόβονται μόνο μα αλυσοπρίονα. Δηλαδή αυτοί οι καταστηματάρχες πιστεύουν πως έτσι θα κάνουν βιώσιμο το μαγαζί τους; Πουλώντας μας πέτρες; Είναι ποτέ δυνατόν να πιστεύουν ακόμα άνθρωποι ότι θα πάνε μπρος με αρπαχτή;

(Translated by Google) Long queue, very fast service, very kind staff, excellent enjoyment! Highly recommended. The decor takes you to another era. Excellent quality!

(Translated by Google) Very helpful staff and they cooperate perfectly, with all the Saturday traffic. It may be a small but very practical space. Of course I didn't get the rose ice cream. But also other flavors I tried are wonderful.

Holiday apartment rental
This summer, the vibrant culinary scene in Athens is set to be invigorated by young pastry chef Alexandros Koniaris, who will debut his innovative soft serve ice cream. Expect delightful flavors inspired by traditional Greek treats like tsoureki—a fragrant brioche-like bread—infused with fresh milk and caramelized bread. Additionally, he plans to incorporate a variety of herbs such as anise hyssop for unique flavor profiles.
Nice for morning walk weekend
