Pub
Bar
Pacific Inn Pub is a compact diner located in Fremont Stone Way, offering microbrews and bar food with modest decor and a pool table. It stands out amidst the homogenous dining options on Stone Way by embracing local beer, a jukebox featuring classic tracks, and delicious fish tacos. This dive bar exudes a salty vibe and serves some of the city's best fish and chips.
I've heard a lot of good things about the fish & chips at this place, and it definitely did not disappoint This spot is basically a bar - where the inside has the booths you'd associate with a classic bar, while the outside has more traditional tables This makes the inside an interesting vibe when I came here for a weekday lunch, but I didn't mind it Their fish and chips comes with coleslaw and tartar sauce as well. What's interesting is that unlike the usual beer batter, the cod here is breaded with panko breading instead, and then deep-fried. This creates a very unique experience, something unlike I've had with fish and chips before; and it's pretty excellent The breading shines in particular. It's very consistent throughout - there's no missing spots anywhere on the fish. While I wouldn't say it's *insanely* crispy, it does create a good crunch throughout that's snappy and responsive to the teeth. The color is also a dark-ish brown, but not too dark. It's also not overly oily, which I like The inside of the fish is also excellent. It's incredibly moist - they managed to not overcook this, while getting it to a good fry-level. It's very juicy and I enjoyed it a lot Fries (or chips) wise, these are also great. They're super soft on the inside, and salted extremely well. There's also just so many of them. The coleslaw is surprisingly not super mayo-based, which was a relief. It had much more of a tangy taste from the acidity of the lime The part I liked the most here was the tartar sauce, though. It was so amazing - the absolute perfect viscosity, amazing texture, the perfect amount of acidity & fat mixed together. Dipping the fish in this sauce created an entirely new experience than just having the fish on its own. It's easily the best tartar sauce I've ever had, and it's not close I had to ask for two cups to get through the meal because I was dipping it in so much The fish pieces are pretty large, and the portion of fries is also considerable. With tax & tip, this comes out to around $20, which is honestly not bad given the portion size. Overall, I haven't had better fish & chips anywhere else in the city yet. 9/10

Local dive that appears to have been there since the 50's. Cool pub vibe in an updated area of downtown. Fish and chips were ok. Great place for beer and a game of pool!
M N — Google review
Daniel had a list of must-try spots before heading back to the island, and fish and chips were at the top. We heard Pacific Inn Pub had some of the best in Seattle—and they delivered! Crispy, golden lightly breaded cod, perfectly seasoned fries, and a laid-back dive bar atmosphere that made the whole experience memorable. It’s exactly the kind of no-frills, great-flavor place you hope to find. Definitely coming back next time we’re in town!
Val V — Google review
ok food, inattentive service, in a typical pub atmosphere. I had been to Pacific Inn a few years ago and loved it...this visit not so much. I had the two piece fish and chips. The fish was flavorless and overcooked. The slaw also could have done with some seasoning. The fries were good. Service could be improved...a lot!
John P — Google review
Cool dive with nice fish and chips. Plenty of seating around pool table for a small group, we had like 8-10 people back there and were chilling. Food was excellent, light and crispy fish with decent enough fries. Tartar sauce is good and pickle forward. Reviews say bad service but it’s dive bar service, you’re in their house don’t expect to have your hand held just order your stuff and keep it pushing. Would be a cool spot to be a regular at. Lots of parking out back!
Viktor L — Google review
Walked in for lunch, sat immediately, great staff. Ordered fish and chips, shrimp basket, tortilla chips with salsa. Everything was served quickly, huge portions, great spread! Served with a good slaw.
Kara E — Google review
Food is great, but the atmosphere is not. While there is outdoor seating available, the bar area is nasty and smells bad. I will eat here again if outdoor space is available.

Great old fashioned pub. Excellent fish and chips. Nice range of beers. Terrible service, but that’s besides the point, right?

The Ballard Smoke Shop is a long-standing establishment that offers a laid-back dining area serving classic American dishes and a casual bar section. It's known for its dive bar atmosphere, with accommodating bartenders and free soup at the end of the night. The venue has a vintage charm, featuring pinball machines, arcade games, and comfortable seating. The food menu is diverse and of high quality compared to typical dive bars.
What a gem in the heart of Ballard! A quirky, vintage Seattle outpost that has a modest but excellent array of pinball machines and arcade games, perfectly framed by a few booths and a comfortable bar. Our bartender Farrah (SP?) was great in recommending food and bevs, checking in, keeping an eye on our belongings and also just pleasant to chat with in passing. The food menu is stacked and of a higher quality than most dive bars. Pricing across both food and beverage is by far some of the lowest in central Seattle. I think this is a great bar for small groups, intimate conversations and even solo. I look forward to returning soon.

I want to leave a review about the buffalo wings since there aren't any mentions of them. They were good. Great bartenders too. Ask for Nathan!
Alex S — Google review
Service was interesting but I enjoyed it. FOOD was definitely edible after a shot and beer. Large pour on the shot, and good vibes. Thank you for that. Even bought a hoodie! As I would, it’s my namesake. This is where the guys from Deadliest Catch drink beer.
J B — Google review
Love this place. Food is always delicious. Reasonable prices. Great vibe. The best dive bar in the neighborhood 🍻👍
Emily G — Google review
Really cozy in here, plenty of arcade games and pinball machines. It’s never really crowded either and the carpeted floors and hanging string lights give it a nice homey feeling.
Gavin D — Google review
really great little neighborhood institution bar, cozy atmosphere with delicious pub grub. highly recommend the smash burger with a rainier and tequila :) friendly bartenders as well

The bar was essentially empty but we were turned away for being too large of a party. Not sure how this is good for business but good luck!

Sloop Tavern is a classic, unpretentious establishment in the heart of Ballard. Its cozy and rustic atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to unwind after exploring nearby attractions like the Nordic Museum or the Ballard Locks. The tavern's long history and popularity among sailors and sports fans contribute to its charm. Visitors can enjoy cold beer, pub grub, and a welcoming ambiance while cheering for their favorite teams on multiple TVs.
The food here is really quite good and also good value, consistently so. The onion rings are especially great. Vibes and atmosphere are like a neighborhood bar, not all that divey to be honest. Everyone's chill, and there are darts and a pool table along with a jukebox.
Josh L — Google review
A fun, local place. The drinks were cheap and the food looked good. We had great service from the bartender (I think her name was Cindy). She was very friendly and outgoing. The bar was also dog friendly and had pool tables. If back in the area, we would definitely visit again.
The T — Google review
The Carne Street Tacos are really stuffed with great goodies and at 3 for $10, can't be beat. Great beers and a nuce crowd in a divey atmosphere. Bar lady keeps things moving and chill.
Steve I — Google review
My favourite spot to drink for sure! This place has unbeatable prices and really great food.
Abhinav S — Google review
Great dive bar with great service! Food is average and cheap! Oh yeah and a great price on beer! I’ve been going to The Sloop for years and years. One of my favorite spots in Ballard to grab a quick beer and eats. Dog friendly and they have a small area for outside seating when the sun is out. Darts and pool too!
Holly — Google review
Great experience! Kinda an odd night, going away party for their former chef, but his family made the best pupusas I've ever had! That, of course, was one of, but the service and vibe was also excellent.
Amos B — Google review
Excellent vibe. Pretty wide open, way bigger inside than it looks. Pool, arcade games, affordable bar food. Clean-ish. Pints or giant beers, good selection on tap and in bottles. Off the Ballard Ave drag so definitely more of a locals bar.
Jeff W — Google review
What a great dive bar! They have two pool tables, some arcade games, the Mandalorian Pinball machine, good food and great prices! You have to go up to the bar to order food and drinks but they'll bring the food to your table. Great place to unwind and let loose.

Linda's Tavern is a cowboy-themed establishment located in Capitol Hill, offering a unique atmosphere with ranch-like decor and an outdoor patio. The tavern is known for its daily happy hour specials, including $3 wells and sliders from 7 pm to 9 pm. It also offers affordable drink options such as $2 Pabst pints and $5 pitchers. The venue features wide booths, a giant outdoor patio, and even projects movies on a large screen while providing free popcorn to patrons.
Absolutely perfect burger. So delicious. Draft beer selection was on point, and service (shout out Sean!) was friendly and welcoming. I NEEDED a burger while visiting Capital Hill and was told this was the place for a fantastic burger and great fries, and it was perfect. I mean, literally, perfect bun, melty cheese, hot, yum!!!! I got the Happy Hour Happy Meal and a draft IPA and enjoyed every morsel of the food, environment, and experience. The vibe is chill and comfy Seattle. Love Linda's!!! ❤️ Thank you, Sean, for the amazing welcome and perfect service. 👌
Stephanie V — Google review
The patty melt fixed me and the hazy ipa delivered me to cloud 9. 10/10 for food, service, and the giant buffalo head for decor and dive bar vibes. $70 for 2 beers, 2 entrees, and tip. Quick service at the bar and not too busy at 7pm on a Thursday.
Chris D — Google review
Linda's is a great brunch spot! We came out after finishing a 5k and were delighted to find the food tasty, filling, and not too expensive.
Sarah M — Google review
I hadn’t been here in a couple years and there’s been some improvements to the food. Got the classic burger with a couple additions, with the onion rings with chipotle mayo. Oh my lord, was it all so delicious. The server and kitchen handled my one small substitution request on the burger perfectly. And the onion rings were hot and perfectly crispy. Fantastic, attentive, and very friendly service. Thanks y’all!
Mike Y — Google review
Jinx our server every time is amazing. This is THE dive bar spot in Capitol Hill. I always come for my birthday and the happy hour is great. Shoutout to everyone there it’s such a good vibe! And they have a patio in the warm months!
Evelyn E — Google review
Linda’s is always excellent. Everyone that works there is great as well as everyone that goes. They are so wonderful and kind but I’ve noticed their portions on chicken get smaller recently. Which for happy hour chicken strips is a little understandable but the wings have become so small. I love this place and won’t stop going but feel slightly cheapened by wings that are smaller than my thumb.
Alexandra H — Google review
Pretty chill spot that's kinda like a dive bar, but hip and fun. The interior is spacious, and they have an outside section. It's a fun place to come with a group of people to just hang out.

Twilight Exit is a classic Central District bar in Seattle, WA that offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The bar serves up delicious pub grub and burgers made from scratch, complemented by an array of cheap drinks. The venue features soft lighting with cute lanterns, creating a charming ambiance for patrons to enjoy. In addition to the food and drinks, Twilight Exit provides entertainment options such as Pac-Man, pinball, and Sunday evening karaoke.
Twilight Exit is a dimly lit, intimate dive bar with an inviting atmosphere oozing out of every corner with tasty food/beer as well. The service we received on an early Tuesday evening at the bar was excellent and the food we tried was surprisingly good. Absolutely will be back.
Jeremy Y — Google review
Food was really good, location is great, atmosphere is good but the service is really really slow and the bartenders are very slow.
Alexis W — Google review
Food was good. Portion size was small. Drinks were good. Great prices for drinks and food. Overall good experience. The ambiance is just like being inside Twilight. It's so gloomy and dark on the inside. Nice place casual place.
Dr. H — Google review
I went for my birthday. The food is delicious, the drinks are proper and the atmosphere is lole cheers. One of my favorite places and I often frequent this place for great food and the jukebox and the back patio and the food lol. The chili! Lord help me it's bomb! Its well worth it. Give it a go.
Princess H — Google review
Classic pub with soft lighting from cute lanterns everywhere. It was super loud and crowded this Friday night. The patrons were friendly and formed a line to the bartender rather than all gathering around the bar which I greatly enjoyed. The bar was more well-stocked than I expected. The bar food was tasty… Or maybe it was the Mezcal lol There are pinball tables in the back and lots of tables to sit at everywhere else. overall it’s a cute spot that uses neighborhood bar. I’m excited to check out their karaoke. 🎤
Olivia J — Google review
Very cool spot! We loved the place! Too bad we were only in town for a couple of days or we would have returned. We loved the darker vibe, the music, the vintage decor, the pinball machines and photobooth were fun! Wide variety of beers and cocktails, and the food was also very very good. Servers and bartender were sooo nice, I love Seattle!
Isa L — Google review
Diveyest of dives, this place packs zero pretense. 25 cent arcade games, cheap PBR and great bar food combine to make this local bar a shining star ✨. It's worth a trip out of the way for sure.
Richard C — Google review
Real dive spot, went there with friends, the staff was decent but they had no ingredients to make 8 different common drinks that I asked for my table. So even for a dive bar extremely basic selection of drinks.

The Hideout is a popular spot for locals and tourists to socialize, enjoy drinks and bar snacks, and take in the local art. The bar features specialty cocktails made with high-quality liquors and juices, as well as a variety of draft and bottled beers. There's also an extensive list of red, white, sparkling, and dessert wines available for purchase by the glass.
Great drinks and atmosphere; the drinks are very expensive, but they are tasty and boozy. There were only two bartenders working and it was a Friday night so we often had to wait 5-10 minutes to be able to order a drink. Artwork was cool, vibes were immaculate 👌 there is no food on the menu but a couple restaurants next door that are open ~10pm
Rose R — Google review
My favorite neighborhood bar. a HUGE fan of low light, chandeliers and candles and the art covering the walls. Almost every cocktail I’ve had has been delightful and decently priced, can have about two rounds without feeling the sting of the bill. Staff is super chill. Only complaint I have is while I really do love the music they play, it’s a bit too loud. The bar is set up to be more conversational than club and I can never hear what people are saying within changing so I wish the music could be turned down time to time.
Dominique M — Google review
We went on a Monday night so it was pretty dead. Super cool art on the wall. 2 drinks was 50 bucks with tip so be prepared for that. But great service, great character and good drinks. Forsure would go back
Bradley J — Google review
We had a great experience here in First Hill. This spot has a cool vibe with a creative cocktail list, a fabulous bartender (Fiona), and Seattle worthy music playing. There is also a collection of beautiful art on both walls.
David L — Google review
This review isn’t based off the drinks because we were never served and just walked out. We walked in on a Friday night and it wasn’t too busy. We walked up to the bar, there were two bartenders, bartender #1 and #2. (Update: bartender #2 is the general manager) There were a handful of empty seats at the bar and a couple of tables with available seating. As I walked up to the bar, I was standing in front of bartender #1 who just stared at me and didn’t greet me. After a couple seconds of an awkward stare, I greeted her first. And she still greeted me (barely) and doesn’t try to take my order or anything. We sat at the bar waiting for the bartenders to have a gap so we can order. After waiting a while, we asked if there a specific person we should order with. Bartender #2 says they will be with us soon. No problem. But then someone walks in the bar, stands to our left and bartender #2 takes their order. We were frustrated due to the service, lack of acknowledgement and the disrespect of taking someone’s orders when they knew we were waiting. Then we left. It’s sad to write bad reviews but this is one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a bar. We just felt ignored and unwelcomed. Update: thank you to the general manager for showing that they do not care about their customer service or patrons. Please go learn how to acknowledge patrons when creating your “art.”
Deone P — Google review
This bar definitely has a mood. It’s very dark and dimly lit, which gives it a fun and posh environment. They have a very good selection of top shelf liquors and it’s a perfect after bar spot with friends or family.
Christopher V — Google review
Visited in Aug 2023 A really great ‘hidden’ bar as the name suggests. My friends and I ended up visiting the place twice during our short stay in Seattle. Really loved the cocktails. My favourite cocktail was the “Seats Way Back” drink. Service was good. The interior artwork on the walls is so good and the place is worth visiting just for that. Definite recommendation for folks living in or visiting Seattle.
Avijeet S — Google review
A few NPCs hired as bartenders who do not even acknowledge you. I had to say something for them to reply. Vibes were off right when you get there. The other reviews about this place are true. They expect tips when they do not give service that is tip worthy. The hideout should stay hidden. Won’t be coming back.

Caroline Tavern is a lively neighborhood joint located in North Seattle, known for its diverse crowds and friendly staff. The bar offers classic amenities such as a pool table, pinball machines, and a jukebox. Despite its location near a golf course, it's not a typical golf lounge. The bar has a covered patio and is dog-friendly with ample parking space. Regulars frequent the place, creating a welcoming atmosphere where patrons know each other's names.
Bartender made the BEST Bloody Mary I’ve had! Cheap prices & chill atmosphere!

Absolutely love this place! Caroline Tavern Bar has such a welcoming vibe — great drinks, delicious food, and friendly staff who always make you feel at home. The atmosphere is perfect whether you’re catching a game, hanging out with friends, or just relaxing after work. The bartenders really know their craft, and the service is always top-notch. Definitely one of the best local spots around — highly recommend! 🍻
Rasan N — Google review
The Caroline is one of the best old-school dives in Seattle--not just North Seattle, but the whole city. Great bartenders, solid food, strong and appropriately priced drinks, and a pool table that, although it often feels more like playing minigolf than billiards, is free and contested by a friendly, open group of regulars. There's also a lovely covered patio out back. And they're dog-friendly. And there's a whole dang parking lot, just for you. Sometimes they'll put up a sign saying "We won't be open until 10am on Thursday, we apologize for the inconvenience." Look, just go check this place out. It's a gem.

Classic dive bar with a cozy inside, pool table, and golf game. Great fried bar food, plus a big outdoor seating area in the back with tvs.

Such a fun neighborhood bar filled with friendly people, fun atmosphere, and amazing drinks! Went out to celebrate a friend and ended up at Caroline Tavern for drinks. They have great music 🎶 jukebox (AMI), pool, pinball, and even a breathalyzer! If you are looking for a welcoming neighborhood bar - come on in! 💚

A nice little neighborhood bar that's tucked away just off the main drag. One of the few reasonably priced options left open in the area. You'll see a lot of long time locals there which is obviously a good thing. Would def recommend if you're in the area and looking for a drink.

Fun divey bar. We had a few shots here and they were a reasonable price. They had pinball, pool, and a jukebox. This place would be a great one to put the night away.

Pub
Back Door Pub is a lively establishment located in Lake City, offering a nostalgic atmosphere with its mom-and-pop shops and neighborhood restaurants. The bar attracts a diverse crowd, including college students, middle-aged individuals, and sports fans. The bartenders are known for their generous pours and friendly service. Despite being a dive bar, the regular patrons create a welcoming environment where everyone feels at home. Additionally, the pub allows dogs inside and permits outside food to be brought in.
The best dive bar I've been to in Washington! There's a large area of people here, college age, middle aged trying to get out of the house, older patrons feeling them self, sports fans, bartenders getting off work from other bars, everything. As soon as the jukebox came on everybody started singing, dancing even, especially the people that you would least expect would know a Nicki Minaj song. The bartender, my goodness, what a gem. She had the best personality, she was so efficient, only ever had a smile and could totally hustle. The drinks were strong and inexpensive. I recommend getting canned beers, or basic drinks, nothing on tap. This place is magical. I've been wanting to go back, to Back Door, ever since. ❤️

Nice comfy place for real people of all races, this is a place for workers, we come here to chill. Do not be intimidated to talk to the regulars, they are mostly super friendly. This is a place for everyone to come and relax. You will find a friend here. Oh, and guess what? It is cheap.

There are many regulars there, which is a good sign. The bartender was terrific and attentive, and the drinks were almost too strong!

The Back Door Pub is great. Brittany was professional and her energy fit the vibe of the bar perfectly. She single-handedly kept everything running smoothly even with a busy bar. The owner and patrons added to the awesome atmosphere and were nothing but friendly and easy to talk to. This will be regular spot for me anytime I'm passing through the area.

Great spot to kick back. Even though the pinball, foosball and pool table are all in total solitary confinement due to the virus, this place still rocks! Free park in front OR back, great bartenders and good drinks.....plus TouchTunes music and fun “cardboard crack” (pulltabs) to keep on happy!!!!!

Shorty's in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood offers a unique experience with its combination of gourmet hot dogs, cocktails, and vintage pinball and arcade games. The whimsical space transports visitors to Coney Island, where they can enjoy a variety of adult beverages while playing classic games like Ms. Pac-man and Centipede.
Honestly one of the best bars I've been too, even went on a Wednesday night and the place was alive! Service was pretty quick for having a bar tender/chef... appreciate your good service. If you're into lights, pinball, hotdogs, and good drinks this is the place to go. We got a variety of dogs, a pulled pork sandwich, and more and it was some of the best bar food we've had. You gotta take a look at the tables, they're all old pin ball machines, how cool! Games were really fun, and not expensive like places in capital hill. Really good environment, with a large variety of games. Check this place out!

Great spot for late night drinks and veggie dogs. Fun pinball options, beer ball (skeeball), and even a claw machine of their own. Bartenders were friendly and attentive.

Such a good bar and has a lot of great pinball games. And they have a clown memorabilia. So if you are a lover of clowns this is a good place to go. And they're really good for their hot dogs definitely check that out.
Jer K — Google review
By far, the Best Bar in Belltown. Great pinball, fantastic drinks, fun bartenders, and some of the best dogs in town. Been coming here for years and love this place. If you play pinball, the machines are well maintained and ready to play. Machines take quarters and bills and there is a change machine in between the front bar and the back bar. If you haven's had a dog here I would suggest the Number 3 dog with tomato, Mama Lil's peppers, and cream cheese.
Rod S — Google review
The moment you step inside, it’s clear this place was designed by someone who took clown college way too seriously—but in the best way possible. Pinball machines line the walls, blinking like a fever dream, and the whole place smells like nostalgia, cheap beer, and questionably legal carnival prizes. The bartender slides a Rainier across the counter with the efficiency of someone who’s been here since the grunge era. The real magic? The hot dogs. A perfect balance of guilty pleasure and genuine culinary achievement. Outside, Belltown morphs into condo hell, but inside, it’s an unapologetic time warp where skee-ball scores still matter, and no one judges you for ordering a second round of tater tots. Seattle changes. This place doesn’t. Thank god. ALL the bartenders were also super nice.

Marco Polo Bar & Grill is a family-owned establishment that has been serving broasted chicken and pub grub since 1950. The bar offers a vintage atmosphere with a dance floor, patio, and TVs for entertainment. It is known for its delicious fried chicken made in an old-school Broaster, which sets it apart from the trendy fried chicken spots in the city. The bar has retained its traditional charm since its opening and continues to serve stiff drinks alongside their perfectly cooked chicken and jojos.
Very typical sports bar with a cool, fun vibe. Service is prompt and friendly. The food is what you'd expect from pub grub: nothing fancy, but pairs well with alcohol. There are TVs all over the place, so you're bound to find one with your event on it.

For my money, the best fried chicken, if not in Seattle, for sure on the south end. I've been going here for at least 15 years and only ever order the fried chicken. Recently I had the fried wings, they are very tasty naked. The dipping sauce was different but good, still unsure of what it was. Guess I'll have to keep coming back to figure it out and spread my "wings" by trying the rest of the menu items.

Great karoake and the kitchen was still open to get some of their special fried chicken. Perfect spot for after a Mariners game to let traffic die down

Delicious food, clean, friendly service, and great drinks. The fried chicken, wings and BLT sandwich are my top 3 favorites. Relaxed sports bar atmosphere with an outdoor patio, pool, darts, and other games. There are also plenty of tables with chairs so you can comfortably see the TV's that are all over the place. Decent street and neighborhood parking.

Cool spot to hang out and catch Seahawks and mariner games. Get there early though or you will likely run into a standing room only situation. Food was good, service was good even though they were short staffed. Solid establishment.

Star Brass Works Lounge is a laid-back spot offering classic American dishes, a variety of craft beers on tap, and the option to dine outdoors. Customers appreciate the prompt and friendly service, as well as the great happy hour deals. The establishment's dim interior provides a comfortable setting, while its spacious outdoor patio is perfect for those seeking some fresh air. Despite potential parking challenges, visitors rave about the delicious and reasonably priced menu items such as steak bites and tavern burgers.
Typical pub grub with some alternative sliders and local drafts. The patio overlooks the trailer park mall. A little variety in the electric rock would have made a wonderful afternoon even more enjoyable.
Robert R — Google review
Star Brass now allows pets on their patio. I brought two dogs. Generally, it’s a good environment but I don’t really interact too much with the wait stuff. They’re fine. I sat in the corner and while one dog was barking intermittently we were minding our business. The dog barks at a server walking back and forth and he looks at me nasty and then a few minutes later someone (assistant manager or manager?) walks up in a manner totally tone deaf when dogs are sitting and they’re barking at her incessantly and I was told to get out. She was just coming up to tell me to leave but did it in such an obnoxious way. I wasn’t allowed to finish my drink. Here’s my thing. I live in the neighborhood. I walk by there all the time. They clearly want to boost revenue by allowing dogs on the patio but if you’re just tolerating them and alienating people then just don’t allow dogs. I’m also not obtuse to think I shouldn’t be told to leave if my dog is barking. Be kind and respectful. I shouldn’t have been kicked out on the spot.

This is a cool bar in Georgetown with a great vibe. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Had the Double Tavern Burger with a half side of tater tots. The burger was perfectly cooked and flavoursome, the tater tots perfectly crispy. Try the 9lb Porter.

Great divey spot in a charming part of town. Star Brass suffers mostly from being in a flight path and from limited parking options nearby. Get past those two things, and you've got an awesome menu with plenty of drink options, and a luxuriously large patio for sunny afternoon sips in the shade.
Matt K — Google review
Love the old bars in Georgetown but there are better places to eat. The waitress tried to give us a clue when she couldn't recommend anything cause she doesn't eat the food! Had the tavern beer and tots and hubs had the chicken caesar. Neither were notable. Great place for good cheap drinks tho. I appreciated the balebreaker fresh hops they had on tap! They have a decent outdoor space as well! Like the 21+

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is consistently delicious. The tropical cocktails are a nice balance to the food and are always strong and delicious. The staff are attentive and friendly. The cozy, dim ambiance is perfect. My husband and I live across town from this place so it usually takes us between 30-45 mins to get here, but it's always worth the drive. My only complaint? They're not open on Sundays! I always forget and end up craving it just when I can't have it. Otherwise, this place is a gem. Highly recommend.

Salt & Pepper ribs and general tso's chicken were the highlights. Fries at good with a generous portion. Prawn & pork dumplings and chow fat noodles aren't things I'd order again. Service is great, really dark interior.

What a fantastic place. They were out of some things because we showed up really late on a Thursday but it was still great. We ordered general tso and beef spare rib. Both we some of the best I've ever had. Crunchy and tender, with delicious seasoning. My wife got a passion fruit caiparinha, which was not her favorite drink but it was still definitely good. We'll be back for more late night eats, we loved it

If you are new visiting this restaurant it is a little puzzle to figure out that you have to walk all the way to the back of the restaurant, take a number, and write down on a board the number of guess in ur party then wait to be called. The food at this place is one of the most tasteful for Chinese restaurants in the area. Recommed “BBQ Duck”. The enviroment is very cozzy but bizarre they play Classic K-Rock music on a asian restaurant, but definetely groovy. Very fast service and food takes less than 5 minutes to be served once ordered.
Nelbgarrido — Google review
Loved the vibes of this vintage Chinese-American dive bar with just touches of Tiki-esqe flair. The food was good, but prices were high and portions small for what you get. They were out of the General Tso’s at 9 o’clock on a Saturday, which was a bummer. The cocktails were solid, but nothing particularly memorable or unique. Verdict? Come here for the character and enjoy the bar snacks along the way.
Jacob S — Google review
My wife and I ordered a take out of Chow Mein, Spare Ribs and BBQ pork for $78, we live a block away so we opened it right away the chow main smelled of burnt rubber and a sort of chemical, the spare ribs weren't spare ribs but something resembling dog treats, the next day I went in and spoke with a waitress, she took my name down and my credit card info and said the owner would call me, not hearing from the owner I went in a few days after in where she stated that the owner would call me, it has now been a week without any call, the food was terrible and we didn't even eat it, we have lived in West Seattle for 21 years and have not had an experience like this ever

Big Mario's Pizza offers generous New York-style pizza slices, cocktails, and beer in a laid-back space with a retro dive-bar vibe. The pizzeria is designed as an antidote to post-drinking hangovers, serving enormous foldable slices until 2 am. With three locations in the city, it's easy to find their classic New York-style pies with slightly thicker crusts that add wonderful texture and chew.
THIS is pizza. When that smell hits...you know this is going to be good. Absolutely fantastic crust to toppings ratio. Each bite gives you all the flavor. Great portions. The staff are so awesome. Genuinely friendly and helpful. Definitely get the Seattle cola to wash it down. Yummmmm!!
Christine H — Google review
I stopped by this spot for a pepperoni pizza The first thing to note is that a slice here is 1/6th of a pizza, rather than the typical 1/8th. This means that you're getting a pretty large slice for one person Another pretty cool thing is they reheat the specific pizza slice you ordered right before serving, which isn't something that all places do The pizza itself is pretty good. It's a relatively thin crust, and it's charred a lot on the bottom - a little bit more than I would like as certain parts are nearly fully black Biting into the crust feels a little like biting into a cracker; it's got that same mouth-feel As far as the three main elements of the pizza, I would say they were all above average, but nothing mindblowing The tomato sauce was nice, and the cheese was melted really well, but since this is such a thin pizza, there isn't a ton present with each bite. What is there does taste pretty good though. The cupped pepperoni is also pretty good as well, but just not crispy at all. For me, I don't think New York style is my favorite style of pizza, so it's possible someone who appreciates that style more would enjoy this Speaking of New Yorkers, I think one of them might revolt at the price of this - about $6 for a slice. It is a bigger slice though, and compared to other options in Seattle, it's not *that* bad Overall, it's a pretty good slice of pizza, but not a great one. 7.75/10
James — Google review
Almost a 5. Such a really cool local joint to come in for a slice. Reminds of a NY pizza place to walk in and grab a slice. There is a bar on the back of the restaurant. I was with my daughter, so I wasn't able to go back there and have a pint with my slice. If you have the chance to just get some food and sit at the bar, I'd take advantage of it. My only takeaway would be that my slice did not have as much of a slight crunch on the dough to get a good fold.
Jason T — Google review
Lots of reviews and now for my first negative one. Big Mario manager, let your employees know feedback is a positive thing. That’s how you get better. One star for being open “late” on Wednesday. One star for friendly cashier. I Agree with others reviews here, no salt on the crust and sauce was flavor free. Crust was also burnt on one of our pieces but we let that slide. Because of our love for BM initially wasn’t going to say anything. But as I continued eating this flavor free pizza, I thought, I should tell this place, a place we have liked for years - this particular slice doesn’t have any flavor outside of the pepperoni. It tasted like cooked flour, with unsalted tomato product on top. My expectation was a light apology. Maybe an offer for another piece or simply an apology. I understand kitchens aren’t perfect. Instead I received some gruff angry response about “salt in pizza crust?” And some other under breath remark from the pizza cook. I guess that’s how Mario”s rolls these days. The hostess tried to be nice but the big Mario looking chef was not ready for any feedback. They simple walked off and the cashier moved on. Well, here’s your star. I now join the crowd calling Mario’s overpriced pizza, overpriced beer, and slices served with burned crust with NO flavor. I suppose it maybe better drunk, and/or, after smoking. Or more stars if you need to watch sodium intake. Whatever you do, do not let the kitchen know, they don’t take any form of feedback or criticism. Should have waited in line at the other place 3 blocks west. I will make sure to let people know that the kitchen crew is very sensitive, does not take feedback, and sells salt free overpriced pizza.
Tim M — Google review
Big Mario’s Pizza in Cap Hill is a great late-night spot for a slice. One thing I really appreciate is how they pre-bake their pizza. When you order a slice, they pop it back in the oven to reheat, but it’s never overdone. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference — the crust stays golden brown with just the right amount of crisp, and the toppings stay fresh. Definitely a fan of that — so I’ll give them points for that. As for the pizza itself, it’s a solid slice. Nothing groundbreaking, but it hits the spot. If you’re in the area looking to sober up or just want a late-night snack before heading home, this is the place. There was a line when I went, but it moved pretty quickly.
K L — Google review
I have a tight lunch schedule and decided to stop by to get a to go slice. It was good enough pizza that I decided to bring my friend to get a slice two days later. I had slice of the Sicilian and is was scrumtious. Only thing is the seating inside is 21+ so if you get something and your under 21 it has to be to go. Definitely recommend if you need a quick bite, in and out in under 3-5 minutes depending on the line.
Nicholas C — Google review

Very good! I usually don't like New York style pizza, but I've found myself coming back here multiple times. Often a bit loud, at least when I've gone there. Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. Sometimes the crust is a bit burnt, but not much. Slices are big. $5.50 for cheese, $6.50 for pepperoni, $7.25 for special/deluxe/sicilian. Full pizzas also available. Sometimes waitstaff are friendly and patient, sometimes they just seem tired. Always a pleasant experience. I have been given a to-go box upon request.

Restaurant
This Japanese restaurant Fort St. George is great for Japanese diner/comfort food and provides a comfortable space with excellent service. They play techno, punk, and 70s rock music in the background, making it a perfect place to relax and chat with friends.
This is what you call a hidden gem! IFYKY. Truly it has one of my favorite Japanese bar food, but the best thing here which was the most surprising is the Japanese spaghetti. Just think homemade from Mom right straight from her kitchen. I've been going here for the last couple years and it never misses. I absolutely adore this place. And the service is so lovely! Everyone here is just exceptionally sweet and kind. Its a spot you should bring a friend and share an app + spaghetti. Don't hate on it unless you tried it! The Japanese Kewpie mayo on spaghetti is insanely good.

Food is very delicious, a little pricey considering you make most of it in like 10 mins with ingredients from Uwajimaya across the street. But if you don’t feel like doing that this is so worth it! The melon soda is delicious and picture worthy, the curry is exactly what you want, the dipping udon as well. Nothing is too crazy or too bland it is perfect Japanese diner food. The service is very kind we wanted to change our order and they were very understanding. They also brought lots of pickles upon asking for extra. My only quips: Super not accessible, only accessible by stairs sadly. Eggs, the egg in the egg doria was super raw and I completely understand that Japanese people love raw egg but that is because Japanese eggs are much better quality than most American eggs, and I could tell this egg was not to this quality.

Home style Japanese diner, conveniently located near the International District/Chinatown station, which is about 5-10 minutes away. We came to this place due to the high reviews but was quite disappointed with our experience. The good: friendly staff, attentive service, food was served quickly. The bad: pricy, below average food quality, outdated decor. The Gyutan ($19, 8 PCs) was the worst I have ever had. They were salty, overcooked, and way too thick, which made them like rubber and extremely hard to chew. The Omurice ($18) was overpowered by ketchup, as that's the only thing I could taste and for $18 dollar I would expect the portion to be larger. Lastly, the spicy karage curry has a weird sour taste to it. The chicken was pretty spicy, but also pretty sour probably due to overdose of lemon/lime juice during marinating. Overall, we left disappointed and probably won't come back again.

A Seattle institution! Such a great spot for late-night dinner as well as a shot or two. I cannot count how many times friends and I have returned here as I’m a regular (thank you for the green tea shots), and the food is truly comfort food. Their garlic mayo spaghetti is my frequent go-to, as well as their chicken katsu curry, hamburger steak and bento boxes (personally always get mine with chicken katsu and mackerel — so delectable!). They’re all so consistently delicious. And of course, you can’t write a review for FSG without mentioning Misaki. Thank you so much, friend! Your bubbly personality and sweetness are so welcoming & needed. There’s nothing like that exemplary person at a restaurant that makes you feel special and takes care of you always. 🫶🏽

A hidden restaurant on the 2nd floor with excellent service and decent food. When we got it on a Friday evening it was relatively empty. I ordered the "Yakibuta Chahan" and "Spicy Cheese Fries." The chahan had a light flavor and you could taste mostly chicken + onion. The spicy cheese fries tasted like fries and cheese with a mild spice. What stood out to me was the service. They went out of their way to chitchat and regularly checked-in on us during the meals. It felt really welcoming.

I would give it 4 stars if you live in the area or can get here via mass transit. 3 stars if you drive here and add in the cost of parking. I really hate to have to write a review like this; about a bar I've been coming to probably around once a quarter for the past couple years, and have recently started coming to more often, to the tune of once a month as a little home away from home from my usual local dive bar in a nearby neighborhood, but felt obliged to say something about the experience I had the evening of May 15, 2025. I walked in around 11:30 PM with my buddy that I met during freshman year orientation in college back in Vermont in 2016. We've remained friends over the years and they recently moved to Seattle from Connecticut a few months ago. We had been to Targy's a few times since they moved out here, and had even been served by this particular bartender one of those nights. Never had any issues before. But not this night. The bartender spent around 30-40 seconds looking at my ID which is a WA state license I got around a year or two ago and then gave me the okay. The bartender took my buddy's CT ID (which might I add was issued less than a year ago) spent 30-40 seconds looking at that one as well, and then took it over to their book of ID images for comparison and discussed the ID with some locals at the bar. The bartender comes back and says "Unfortunately I can't serve you tonight" and in my view got slightly frustrated with me after I inquired about what we could do to prevent the situation from happening in the future; they really just wanted us out of the bar and to be done talking to us. Now listen, I get it, if working at a bar is your livelihood, and you serve someone underage, then working at a bar likely becomes a past livelihood. That being said, I clearly look around 25 (I'm currently 27) and likely slightly older with a little evening shadow. My buddy has a horizontal Real ID, good enough to get them on a domestic flight in this country. My buddy definitely looks closer to 21, but they're only a year younger than I. This situation raises a lot of questions for me: 1. Why did you serve my buddy and I a couple months ago? What changed since then? Does he look younger now? Maybe you just forgot our faces since you see a fair amount of customers on a daily basis. 2. Why would I, who clearly is around 25 based off looks be hanging out with someone underage that isn't my actual brother? Why would I take them to a dive bar in this neighborhood? Like if I wanted to drink with underage kids, I'd just go to Flowers (good riddance). There are plenty of other bars in this city where underage kids go to drink, and I've been around the area long enough to know where they are (and to avoid them for the garbage fires that they are). All this to say, if you're going to check your book for comparisons, maybe don't consult the locals that are probably two or three drinks deep at that point in the evening to ask what they think of a strangers ID. You're the bartender, you make the call. If you're going to check your book, maybe it should be one that's up to date. There's no way that my buddy's ID that they got 7 months ago should be an issue for a bar that's on top of this. And finally, if you really think that this is a bar that someone underage would try and get into on a regular basis, get a scanner. My friend with a horizontal Real ID should not have an issue with a nationally standard ID (additionally, out of the ten or so other bars in the area that we've been to before we've never had this issue). I'm frustrated that what was supposed to be an evening nightcap of one drink and game of pool with one of my closest friends to an otherwise good day had to end on such a sour note.
Eli B — Google review
Had a crap experience here. I'd had a targys shirt and they always put up birthday names on their signs so i thought what better time to check this spot than on my birthday wearing the targys shirt. So i come in, order a pint, and received possibly the most disgusting pint I've ever had served to me in seattle so far. It smelled bad, tasted rank, the glass was positively ancient, chipped and so marked i couldn't tell where the chips began and the spotty streaks ended. It must have come from the prohibition era, along with the last time those taps were cleaned. I did not want another pint nor any food since i was sick to my stomach so i paid for my pint and left. The vibes are cool, pool tables, etc but the drink was undrinkable.

Fun to play darts or pool, but the bartender working tonight was insanely rude and slow. Seemed like he was high which is fine, but good customer service is still important.

Bar
Leny's Place is a relaxed local bar that offers a variety of beer and traditional dishes such as wings and nachos. The ambiance is enjoyable, and they have televisions showing sports games for entertainment. Additionally, there is a pool table available for patrons to play on. On one particular Sunday visit, the crowd consisted mostly of individuals aged 30 and above, accompanied by music that complemented the atmosphere. The pool table requires quarters for usage but was unexpectedly free on this day.
This is a classic dive with good pub food, and a fun atmosphere on game day. The hot wings here are surprisingly lovely. I only say surprisingly because pub wings are either undercooked or they are dry. Not so here. It’s not a huge place, but it can fit a lot of people. Tables can get booked/claimed in advance, especially for regulars on game day. There are multiple screens around the bar to watch the Seahawks. There’s a few bar games in the place as well. Be prepared to do the Seahawks chance and high five!!

This is probably the cleanest dive bar I've ever been to. We were up from Phoenix and craving some delicious fish and chips and we found them. Generous portions beer was nice and cold got to watch the Mariners it was a good day.

This is an excellent little dive bar, everyone is so friendly, espically the bartenders, and it has such a good atmosphere. It's in a real nice neighborhood. The mini corndogs are baller and the fish and chips are good too.
Christopher S — Google review
A down to earth, no frills establishment, Leny's caters to those wanting the tried and true basics of bar/pub food. The unpretentious interior sometimes dips towards eyebrow raising, but the staff are warm, friendly, and helpful. The food is delicious, if not complex, but that is perfectly in line with the atmosphere and far from disappointing. The hours of operation are a blessing those with full days who have to eat late. Worth checking out!

It was crowded on a Friday night, but you’d expect nothing less. The dog was welcome inside and sat right beside me under the barstool. Classic dive bar and dive bar food. I’ll go back and try wings. I had a massive pile of buffalo chicken tenders and fries and they hit the spot. Drink choices galore. The bartenders were working their butts off but they were attending to everyone. It was a youngish crowd, but it was very age diverse, and there were several different groups of people together. Some look like regulars and others just parties out having fun. This is a nice little neighborhood bar, but if you’re looking for intimate and cozy, this isn’t it. I’m sure this place is rocking during Seahawks games.

Great little dive bar in tangletown. This place is pretty easy on your wallet and has surprisingly great eats. I recommend the Rueben sandwich, but don’t sleep on the Basket of Richards. Get them while you can as they are “limited time only”

Hands down the best dive bar in all of Seattle. You will never have a dull night here - the drinks are cheap, the bartenders are quick, and they have touchtunes! And a claw machine with beanie babies! And pool tables! Their food is also top notch for bar food. Not a bad word to say about this place, highly recommend.

Finally made it to the famous Al's Tavern in Seattle. It's not just a place to stop in your post-college journey, but a truly weekend spiritual experience. I only rated the food as a 3/5 by accident, and I'll try the bratwurst when we visit tomorrow with the whole gang. Hope to see Percy again. Watching him serve sixty people all by himself is an experience.

Hattie's Hat Restaurant is a beloved local cafe in Seattle, offering three meals a day along with drinks and live events in a funky and cozy setting. The vintage sailed-around-the-cape mahogany bar adds to the charm of this timeless establishment, where patrons can enjoy a kickass diner menu and immerse themselves in the laid-back atmosphere. With affordable and satisfying food options, Hattie's Hat is cherished by locals as a hallowed place with prime bathroom graffiti.
One of my favorite food stops in ballard and one of the few that is open late! Breakfast is absolutely delicious and plenty of options for everyone. Late night menu has perfect comfort food and a nice range of drinks. All the staff is lovely but Brandon is a gem!

Classic long standing neighborhood icon still serving up great food and drinks. Our bartender was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our first meal in Ballard here. Came back later for the bread pudding to go!

A friend and his son came to visit Seattle and asked me to lunch. They also said I should pick the place…ummm thanks. My brain was scrambled so I grabbed my phone and searched for “old restaurants in Ballard” and at the top of this list was Hattie’s Hat. Established in 1904 as the Old Home Saloon it became a restaurant in the 1930s – 1940s. It serves breakfast and lunch throughout the day and dinner in the evening. I had the challah French toast, which was very good! The service and atmosphere were fantastic.

This place was built during the Old Testament or something (1904). Awesome. I came here with my sister and cousin. I recommend. We ordered a million sides and dishes, it wasn’t even an outrageous price. Our waitress was very nice. FOOD: NOTHING bad to say about it. I reccomend the bagel sandwich (as shown in the photos)! I would order everything on the menu. Come here!!

We stopped here for brunch. One of our friends said hatch brown was good. It looked okay. My friend ordered extra crispy, you might want to consider ordering extra crispy. I just got biscuits with gravy, it was biscuit with soup. It was not bad but it was not good. It did not have a lot of sausage bits. My other friend ordered chicken and waffle. Chicken was not bone in, it is not your what you would think when you order chicken and waffle. Service was good but we did have to asked for water and refilled on coffee. Street parking , we parked at a lot that cause $5 per hour.

Happy I was able to have a bar top experience at the iconic Hattie's Hat Restaurant. I learned from Kayla, the friendly bartender that the building was open in 1904. The artwork within the bar totally reflects this which gives the atmosphere a walk back in time type of vibe!

Great brunch food. Their chai alcoholic brunch drink was great! They also do really good mimosas too. My favorite part of the meal was the selection of hot sauces they had available at the table. They ranged from habanero to piri piri, awesome pairing with breakfast foods. 👌🏾

Jupiter Bar in Belltown is a unique spot that offers a blend of local art, cocktails, and light fare. At first glance, it may seem like an unassuming dive bar, but upon closer inspection, it reveals itself as an art-meets-arcade bar. The front area features a vibrant collection of murals and artwork while the back houses 29 retro pinball cabinets. This eclectic combination has earned Jupiter Bar recognition as one of the best Seattle bars for singles.
By far one of my favorite bars in Seattle. They have amazing slushee drinks, delicious pizza, karaoke on certain nights, loads of games, and amazing service. I have been here a couple times and it’s always a great time. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a fun night or a relaxed environment.

I came here mostly to hangout. Turned out to be a pretty sick dive bar. Lots of arcade games options out here. Definitely played lots of games. You can exchange dollar bills for quarter coins and play arcade games. Pretty cool spot to hangout during late evenings. The cocktail options are limited but good. Didn't really try out any Pizza or food. But ambience is really something worth checking out!
Kumar V — Google review
I came to Jupiter to try the pizza at Good Shape, which is served inside the bar. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by chill staff members. I ordered a pie and grabbed some drinks while we waited. The beer selection was nice, and the cocktails had some solid mixology behind them. The pizza was really good. I recommend it! After eating, we decided to hang around and play some pinball games. It was a fun way to relive some childhood arcade moments. The prices for the games were pretty fair, though a few did seem a little overpriced. Overall, it’s definitely worth it if you’re just looking to relax, have a drink, and play some games. The place has a laid-back vibe with two bars, and there’s also a karaoke lounge that seemed to be pretty popular while I was there. Overall, a cool spot if you're in the area.

Love this place! Always great service. Never no attitude or the feeling like you’re unwelcome. Decent priced drinks.about $8-$10per drink & frozen margaritas!-$10👌🏼 Food is a little over prices but convenient if you’re hungry. Booths by the bar have domino sets. back room is an arcade filled with new & older games. Pac man, pin ball, mario cart, a few shooting games & a few more. Front Patio. No smoking in the patio but it’s never been a problem if you do. Recommend the frozen drinks. They let you mix them if you want. Atmosphere is grunge mixed with class. Lots of art & entertaining pics on the walls. 21 & up. No cover charge. Never denied me to charge my phone.🫧

Really great bar that embodies the Belltown nightlife. You can hit the arcade in the back or fill up on some Good Shape Pizza in the front. The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. This bar has great energy and I absolutely reccomend this one.

Great customer service! I had a billing issue during my visit to Jupiter Bar — I was accidentally charged more than I ordered. But when I reached out, the staff handled it quickly and professionally, and they refunded the money without any hassle. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but how a business responds says everything. I really appreciate their honesty and customer care. I’ll definitely be back!

Delicious pizza with high quality ingredients. Not a ton of space so it feels up quickly but service is awesome. There's a bar in the back with a cool vibe. Definitely my preferred of the locations.

The pepperoni pizza was not as great, but, I enjoyed the dive bar atmosphere and friendly staff that make this a good place to chill out without gourmet, fine dining pretensions. Liked the comfy red booths in the back bar that are perfect for spreading out and relaxing. Liked that the booths and tables were clean and not sticky! Liked that the bartender was honest and said he had never made a Cosmopolitan cocktail before, but, when I told him the main ingredients and to put it in a chilled glass, it turned out perfect! Pizza crust tastes too much like burnt flour and is slightly gritty textured. (I would have liked more yeast flavor in the dough.) It was good enough, but nothing to write home about. The to go Ceasar salad did not come with enough salad dressing. I would skip it next time. Liked that all the staff were friendly and seemed in a good mood.

I didn't go into the bar area but Big Mario's Pizza tastes authentically NYC! As a native, I can vouch for the quality of the dough, cheese, and toppings. The crust reminds me of home! They also have outdoor seating. Plenty of ways to hang out here.

Great place for a big slice of great pizza! The crust was perfect and the slice was big enough to fill you. In the back they have a bar with good drinks and a nice dive bar vibe. A little outside area as well for more seating and plenty of tvs playing sports if you wanted to watch the game. Definitely will be coming back for a great slice a beer.

A tiny gem in the side streets of a great neighborhood. Came into town late and with the 1am closing time it was exactly what we needed. 3 people polished off a very loaded pie easily so for 2 people get the 14 but more get the 18. Perfect crust and cooking even with all the toppings. Will be dining here in the late night until we leave. Also a plus is the great dine in area in the back which is an amazing dive bar. Poorly lit with great drinks.

Southern restaurant (US)

Bar
Slim's Last Chance is a casual southern bar with outdoor stage that offers burgers, chili, and live music. The restaurant is all about the red: big heaping bowls of it are served up daily in four varieties (try the brisket and bean with fire-roasted tomatoes and Angus beef).
We heard, "4 types of chili" so we had to try it! 2 of us had different chili and it was super yummy. I had the Texas Red and he had the Brisket N Bean. We tried eachothers and liked them but much preferred our own taste. You have a lot of choices of toppings to add too. I like that if you add them all then the price is better than if you had added them all and paid per topping. I was given some wrong toppings but it was very quickly replaced and they were very cool and hey, stuff happens. The beer was great and a good selection and there are cocktails. The place was very clean and comfortable. They do have nights with bands but the lunch crowd was a mix of all from businessmen to bikers. Not loud or rowdy at all. The wait staff was very aware and on top of it. We ordered just the chili but you can put it on top of cheesy grits or jalapeño mac'n'cheese which sounds so good so we will be back. The guy sitting next to us couldn't stop moaning how good his sandwich and fries were so we figured he was the owner or something haha but he said he was just a customer. We also kind of liked seeing all the large spice jars on the kitchen wall. We knew it wouldn't taste like canned chili and it sure didn't!
Traci B — Google review
Amazing Chile Verde with the mac and tried the grits as well. All great! Theres an old working jukebox with a fun selection, and free. I asked if it works and she said "sometimes" fun punk rock meets country kinda vibe. Big patio and clean bathrooms. What more do you need?!

FLAVOR ~ We stopped in on a Friday for lunch while waiting for our bikes to be serviced at Jet City in Renton. Easy to get to and well worth the drive. If you love chili this place has several to try. The all time favorite is the Texas red. You can’t go wrong with the all time favorite. And of those with a full flavor pallet, I recommend that chili Verde. Smoked pork with tomatillo and jalapeños and some beer. It is a very flavorful experience. The brisket and beans had a great Smokey brisket and sauce. I recommend getting a cup of three to try. And try their corn bread with honey butter. This is a must stop in and try for lunch.

The Lookout is a neighborhood pub with a simple menu of pub grub and cocktails, as well as an outdoor garden with views of the Space Needle. As a Capitol Hill local, this bar is frequented in the summer for its great view from the back terrace. The atmosphere at The Lookout is friendly and understated, lacking tourists and prices that come with some of the other high profile joints on the hill.
Love the firepit on the back patio. My dog and I enjoyed the view. The cocktails were great! The bartender makes a really tasty cosmo. He used Contreau liquour for the orange flavor in the drink and it tasted outstanding. (Most bars use Triple Sec liquour for the orange flavor in a cosmo.) The NY steak and fries were not very good. The crinkle fries were of the premade frozen variety and tasted like they had been baked in an oven, not fried. The steak was tough. But, what can you expect for a $26 restaurant steak these days? The staff seems very down to earth and genuinely kind. I saw a cute baby rabbit run through the back patio.

Me and 4 other buddies of mine came in for their bottomless mimosa special last week for a good time to enjoy the nice day. We were nice and respectful to our servers. The first server, Dan, had a great attitude. He switched servers to, Lulu, who had an attitude every time we would ask her to refill our mimosas. She looked like she hated dealing with us even though we were very patient and respectful with her. When we were finished and ready for the bill. She charged us with an automatic 20% gratuity for just serving 5 people. To my understanding auto gratuity is for when you have a group of 6 people or more. She was very standoffish when we mentioned to her. We were very unpleased with her attitude. Hopefully she doesn’t do this to other customers.

Great brunch spot for a amazing views and truly bottomless mimosas! (i don’t think i saw the bottom of my cup!) service was stellar and we had no problem getting a table on a beautiful morning! portion size was perfect, not too heavy / huge so i didn’t actually feel like i needed a nap after! hollandaise sauce was very tasty overall great for a chill brunch with friends

Came here for bottomless mimosa brunch on Saturday. Super cute local bar with awesome views of the space needle and a great outdoor space. Really enjoyed the mimosas as well as the mac and cheese. I also tried the eggs benedict which was good overall but I think they use hamburger buns instead of english muffins. Solid brunch option in Seattle if you're trying to get boozy early in the day but I'd go elsewhere if food is your priority.

Bar
Merchant's Cafe is a popular bar in Pioneer Square with a tin ceiling and worn polished wood bar. It is known for hosting "seamstresses" in its makeshift brothel back in the day, turning it into a tourist destination for people who are into ghosts. Saloon, on the other hand, is a more modern bar with plain signage and less interesting details.
In my short time in Seattle, I have been exploring the city. I made my way down to Pioneer Square to check-out another old-time Washington restaurant/bar/saloon. For lunch, I stopped in the Merchant’s Café and Saloon, established in 1890. I started with a shot of whiskey. I rarely drink whiskey but thought it appropriate in an old saloon. I asked the cook “what would you eat on your break?” He said, “chicken wings” and listed the sauces. He offered to combine the BBQ and Honey sauces which I gladly accepted. The wings were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The sauce was fantastic. The service was awesome as was the beautiful old Seattle saloon.

Oldest bar in Seattle. Plenty of seating. It's an unassuming bar. Extra loud games on television. Uninterested bar tenders have trouble making menu shots. Is it a sports bar?
Brenda T — Google review
Great downtown location. Historic building. The fryer was not operational so they had a very limited menu. However, if you ordered a burger for $18, you paid full price without the fries/side since they couldn't fry food. Burger was tasty, but very small. Not worth $18 for the burger alone.
Xx X — Google review
Austin & Chris where incredibly welcoming from the moment I walked in. Austin helped me choose a drink, when I was unsure of what to order, I really loved it! Chris served up some bomb French fries with his own personal spin on the seasoning that made em real yummy. I had fun just chatting with them and they made my day that was not going so great beforehand 10x better. The atmosphere of the bar itself would've been enough, I could've sat alone and enjoyed my drinks taking it all in-- but the staff really made my experience what it was. Not to mention they have a beautiful piece of preserved Underground Seattle that is a goth girls paradise downstairs from the bar. Thanks for a great night of good service, company, and food/drinks. I'll be back and tell my friends.
Sarah S — Google review
Stopped in on a quiet Tuesday evening after taking the underground tour. We were the only ones in the bar for quite a while. Bartender was very friendly and we had great conversation. Learned that the basement is apparently haunted if you're in to that kind of stuff. Tried Douglas beer which is apparently difficult to find...which is unfortunate because I loved it. Nice little old bar, but not much if you're looking for a social vibe.
Mike Z — Google review
I love going to the historic places like this. The basement had great ambiance and felt like a classic old lounge. I was ready to see a ghost. ;) The only thing I wish was that they would have stayed open later. They were closing down around 12am on a Friday. My group met me there but they wouldn't be served so we left. I'd still go back. Just earlier!
Jay H — Google review
What a great place!! Austin was our bartender and we loved the place because of him. Great vibes, wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely go back, the chicken wings were amazing and were hope Austin is working when we do go back.

We were just overcharged at this restaurant about 2 hours ago. I have the menu right here in front of me. The Merchants Cheeseburger is 15 dollars and for fries, add 2 dollars. So now it’s 17 bucks, which was no problem. We ordered 2 of them. When the bill came, we were charged 22 dollars per burger. The bartender stood by the price and because we’re tourists, we just sucked it up and paid and left. This is a warning to all…. Don’t let them gig you like they did us.

9lb Hammer is a laid-back gathering place with an eclectic assortment of beers, vintage arcade games, and unique decorations. This down-to-earth establishment in Georgetown exemplifies the type of bar that might be featured on a TV sitcom to showcase the coolness of the dad character or on a reality show where college students venture into unfamiliar territory. With its own delicious Georgetown Porter on tap and even attracting Hells Angels who enjoy playing pool, 9lb Hammer is undoubtedly a beloved local hotspot.
Big servings, good prices, friendly staff! Love how dark it was inside, painted black and red. Bottles were displayed well and easy to see. So much stuff to look at on the walls and around the bar! Loved the Foo Fighters pinball machine! Some of the stuff hanging and on the walls even included some REALLY cool vintage advertising signs and swag.

Update - they've turned some of the TVs off later at night. Totally love the new place connected next door (Maude’s). Great spot with a cool vibe. Sadly being a bit spoiled by too many overly bright TVs - Especially for such a small space. Sully was fabulous and the food was really good. Hoping they turn some of them off when there isn’t a game on.
Bradley L — Google review
First time I went in, it was great. The bartender there was really cool and nice but the second time there was a different bartender and she was mean. She seemed annoyed I was even there and told me they don't do cocktails despite me getting one from there just the other day, they were making cocktails left and right. I guess it depends who's working there if the place is any good.
PIKL C — Google review
A clean dive bar vibe but service is not kind or helpful. Unfortunately the big bummer was that the food was so gross.. and for $18 I was hoping for a burger that wasn’t very overcooked and with absolutely zero seasoning. The sloppy Joe was just mashed up ground beef and bbq sauce… that meal wasn’t even finished Cool vibe and a t cool place to watch the game but stick to drinks on tap and don’t order the overpriced food
Spencer G — Google review
Always intrigued by these classic old bars, 9lb. has that dark wood old school charm. Love a place with some pinball machines! Decent beer selection and the bar staff were super friendly and personable. The food choices are priced super fair, but we felt taste wise it was just ok. We did really enjoy both the fries and onion rings! Lots of seating and a great place to hang out with friends.

Great place to grab a beer and play a few around pinball, pool, or shuffleboard. The folks here are nice and pretty friendly. Super spacious with lots of seatings. Overall a fun reasonable place to hang out.

Awesome dive bar in Georgetown with no nonsense staff. Awesome selection of brews on tap and the classics in cans. Good amount of hard liquor for those who are inclined, but this is no cocktail bar so don't expect a martini glass. Pub fare from the adjoined restaurant Square Knot Diner is your standard pub food but definitely hits the spot. Your eyes will never be bored here with a dark eclectic decor and dozens of knickknacks. The music matches the mood of the bartenders on staff and several arcade games and shuffleboard will keep you entertained till last call.

Restaurant
Mike's Chili Parlor is a small, family-owned restaurant and bar that has been serving its signature chili since 1922. Located in Seattle, this cash-only establishment offers a nostalgic experience with its old-fashioned chili bar. While the chili and food receive mixed reviews, the friendly atmosphere and service make it a popular spot for those seeking a local dive bar vibe. The menu is simple, featuring items like burgers, hot dogs, and chili fries.
I love this place! Just drove up from San Francisco, where I heard about it. I think this is my new Seattle office. Great original chili, super generous portions, great flavour, and no fear of more peppers if you want to spice it up. I had the all meat chili and the hand pressed deluxe burger. A perfect pairing with the Men's Room IPA. I'll work my way across all the other local tap offerings as I get through the other menu items. The menu has lots to explore. I wish I could have moved it to Niagara Falls for the Bikes and Barrels opening night feast. Only one person knows the chili recipe... not even grandma knows it all. Be aware... they like cash. They charge a fee for cards, so hit your favorite atm on the way here.
Dan D — Google review
Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the chili here. I had been looking forward to trying this place for a long time after driving by and seeing the big sign advertising their famous chili, so we were excited to finally stop in. We paid $33 for what was supposed to be a quart, but nearly half the container was a thick layer of orange oil on top. After carefully spooning the oil out, the actual amount of chili left was surprisingly small. Even then, the texture and flavor were not what we expected. The chili was mushy and unbalanced, and the overall taste and consistency just weren’t appealing. For the price, we were really hoping for something hearty, home-y, and even pleasantly greasy, not something that felt mostly like just grease and filler. I really really don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews and even went and contemplated leaving one, but this was genuinely one of the most disappointing food experiences we’ve had. Hopefully our experience was a one-off, but we don’t see ourselves coming back. We ordered: A quart of their meat chili. Fixins on the side. $33
It’s D — Google review
Moved to Seattle 30 years ago and finally made my way to Mike’s. What a breath of fresh air, reminds me of the way Seattle was when I moved here. The bartender was great, tons of personality without any pretend niceness. The owner was there and exudes “I would have a beer with that guy!” I had an ice cold beer and a small chili cheese fries (both outstanding). Cash only but plenty of warning signs throughout. Looks like they are having a music festival in August and I will be back for that!! Highly recommended.
D W — Google review
The best chili dog around! This is exactly what you expect out of a dive bar with unexpectedly good chili. I found this place from watching an episode of Diners, Drive ins, and Dives.
Emily B — Google review
Absolutely great chili. Total dive, don't expect much for service or atmosphere, but I will come back again for the chili for sure
David M — Google review
I got a quart of chili. Damn near half of it was just oil. Straight up oil. I had to use my card so there was an extra fee but even though they advertise it for 20 I ended up leaving paying 33. $33 for a quart of chili (and only half of it is edible) ain’t it
David G — Google review
It’s not just the best chilli I’ve ever had.. it’s not even the beer that was at the best temperature on a sunny day. It was the people that made it such a great experience and also what makes this business (of 103 years) a landmark in Seattle’s history. A must go to.
Stefanos O — Google review
It feels like the recipe for this chili is quite literally ground beef, one type of bean, and oil. Equal parts of each ingredient. I can't imagine having chili anywhere else and claiming this is even average chili. It was quite below average. It didn't taste "bad" mostly because all i tasted was beans, beef, and cheese.

Nestled in a location that might not catch your eye at first glance, Shay's Restaurant is a hidden gem that embodies the classic American diner experience. With its inviting atmosphere and nostalgic decor reminiscent of days gone by, this relaxed eatery serves up hearty breakfast options alongside an array of comfort foods. The menu features familiar favorites as well as unique dishes that set it apart from typical diners. Many patrons have been pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and satisfying flavors, especially the popular Prime Rib served on Fridays.
This is my kind of dive bar! Very good diner food. I love a great dive and they're almost impossible to find in Seattle anymore. The omelettes are fantastic and they pour rocket fuel drinks. I love this place. Be sure to bring your teetotaling vegan friends! (1/24 edit:) The Great Dane Burger is a bit intimidating... and fantastic. Easily the best burger value in the Seattle area.

came for the eggs benedict. was not disappointed. decor is very pre 80s. there was faint cigarette smell, unsure if from patrons/attatched bar, so if allergic to smoke like some of us are, theres that. otherwise we recommend

The fish n chips needed another few mins, the batter was a bit doughy, but was good fish. Chips were mediocre sadly. The salad was perfect. The Sunday was great. The waitress basically said just tell her what we wanted for the Sunday and she'd just build it.

Lovely service and good intentions. The spinach and mushroom omelette is the gem worth trying. The potato omelette is an interesting concept and could work if the potatoes weren’t instant mashed. The hash browns and toast were all slightly charred.

BEWARE!! Long time customer here, as i grew up in this area. Today, I had the Frenchman and my elderly dad had a mushroom and cheddar omelet. About 3hrs afterwards (while we were enjoying an IMAX movie) we had to leave because we both had severe stomach issues. Completely ruined our day. We are never going back here again. Still in pain and just hoping it doesn't get worse.....

Love this place. Been here several times now to give a few menu items a fair shake. I'll talk about each one below. The short is that I'll be coming back as often as possible. Staff are always a delight with that homey vibe, and as someone who's picky about black diner coffee, it's great - got my refills going strong. The omelettes, burgers, and prime rib sandwiches are all outstanding. I think I was audibly having a moment after biting into those haha. I'll probably rotate between these 3 when I come back. Wayyyy above your average diner. I had a Country Fried Steak + Eggs, and a Monte Cristo too, both of which weren't bad by any means, just maybe a 7 or 8/10. Didn't blow me away like the others but still above average. Fries are also fine. Probably the better CFS in the area, at least. Apparently they hand-cut the prime rib so if I'm getting a new thing on the menu it's gonna be Steak + Eggs.

Live music bar
Historical landmark
The Blue Moon Tavern, a legendary counterculture dive that opened in 1934 to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition, is an essential Seattle spot with a rich history. It was once frequented by literary rock stars like Theodore Roethke and continues to be a hub for students and music enthusiasts. The tavern's wooden booths are adorned with generations of messages, creating a visually stimulating atmosphere. Live music performances are held on most nights, offering an opportunity to experience the vibrant local music scene.
Blue Moon Tavern is a rare find—an authentic dive bar with real history (opened in 1934) and a ton of charm. James and Rosa were super friendly and fun, and the whole place has that laid-back, no-frills vibe that’s getting harder to find in Seattle. It’s got deep cultural roots, once serving as a hangout for poets, writers, and artists from the UW scene, including Theodore Roethke. And if you’re into ‘90s grunge, it’s pretty cool knowing Layne Staley used to live just around the corner. This place has charm—definitely worth a visit.

Historic venue with a really cool vibe. They often host great bands and the sound is always good. They also serve Seattle Soda which is more interesting than the standard Coke products that you'd find at most bars. They don't sell tickets in advance so be prepared to pay at the door.

Awesome vibe here! Have come for the open mic nights on Wed. Jonny hosts a great one, and the stage setup is sick/great sound. Good times all around! The bartender(s) are super nice, too.

We can change our rating when we come back. Since we travel with a lot of international clients, they wanted to check out local pubs and live music in Seattle. They brought their European driver’s licenses but they weren’t allowed inside without a passport. So we will have to come back next time.
Exist T — Google review
Atmosphere (this makes this bar!): One of the best open mic nights in Seattle! As a great live music venue, open since 1934, the Wednesday night open mic is a scene alone! Johnny and Odin hold it down, and from regulars to fledgling performers, you will not find the spirit and variety of Seattle's live music scene as alive as it is at The Blue Moon Tavern!! Okay, I will level with you, if its weren't for the proximity of a good taco stand, Caravan (the sleeper restaurant in the central asian, great spots on the north and), Dick's, and the Ave, would be a 1 of 5. Dive bar, chips and pretzels, nothing special, but, they encourage outside food!! Service is top tier dive bar! You will get taken care of, the bartender might not look so happy to oblige, but they will. And if you frequent a dive bar, And Tip Well, the staff will look after you because the, the staff, want patrons like you.
Andy A — Google review
Character! A real classic old-school bar with live music and dance floor. Food is bag of chips, peanuts but that doesn’t matter because you’re coming here for the drinks, music and dancing.

I came from out of town and wanted to see some live music. This place was an awesome venue. Volue was correct and the hat I bought was sweet. Idk where she went to bartending school but where I'm from you make sure the people seated at your bar are happy before you address your line. I had to get up off my barstool and walk over and get in line to get a beer. She did a good job otherwise but that should t happen. Kids... these days

We swung through Montana with a larger group of guys on a fun Saturday and had a great time. Service was fast, dive bar vibes on point, and beers cold. Will be back for sure.

Had a bad experience with the service here. The trivia night guy on September 4th was extremely passive aggressive and told us to leave for talking too loudly, despite the loud music he was playing. It was the most passive aggressive experience I’ve had in a while. I also found the prices to be sky high for a poorly maintained place with rude staff, a bathroom worse than Chernobyl, and sticky everything. Definitely won’t be coming back, especially since there’s so many other options next door.

This is a top-notch bar! Don’t let the signatures on every waking surface fool you. The drinks are exquisite and the atmosphere is always buzzy and lively. I used to go here in my young 20s and came back in my 40s and still felt like I belonged there. The batch cocktails are really great place to start. The patio is always hopping and it seems like on the weeknight we were there they had trivia. From what I can remember, you can bring in food from other places, but that could be wrong about that.

Stars based on rating of a dive bar of which this place checks all the boxes. Decor that makes you second guess if this is a good idea when you walk in ✔️ Pull tabs ✔️ Locals that seem like they live there ✔️ Simple Stiff drinks ✔️ Tots ✔️ Karaoke ✔️ Pool & Darts ✔️ Open till 2am ✔️ If it was a rating of it on a non-dive bar standard it would be a 3 but places like this are a dying breed and are needed. Bartender was super cool and she also made some mean chicken strips. Limited Late night menu. $3 Jell-O shots are a must. Chilled in a tub of ice. “Happy Hour” is from 11am-3pm” which is genius.

Waterwheel Lounge is a laid-back bar in Seattle, offering American comfort food and straightforward drinks. It's a go-to spot for entertainment with bingo on Tuesdays, trivia on Thursdays, and karaoke from Thursday to Sunday. The place also serves slow-smoked St. Louis BBQ and homemade sides throughout the week. Visitors praise it as a "Cheers-like" bar where you can meet locals and enjoy karaoke sessions until late at night.
Sweet little dive. Cool crowd inside. Bartender was super chill, interested and happy to chat me up even on the first visit there. Vibe was perfectly aged 70s inside. Quick service. Friendly locals. Super fun vibe, went from being loud to really loud, but everyone was friendly and it just felt celebratory. We had the street tacos, chips and salsa, and the Gold Bar (deep fried twinky, essentially). The food comes out of the trailer facade, the disco ball spins, and the plastic covered furniture glistens...what more can you ask for?

I love this spot. Unfortunately, I can't eat the food because I have celiac, but I still love it. This place feels like a home bar. The drinks are delicious, strong, and a great value. I don't just come here for the drinks though, I come here for the people. It's chill, dive bar vibes. It feels like a community.

This upbeat dive bar is my go-to hangout spot and has been for years now! They have two pool tables, two styles of soft-tip darts, and enough boards for everyone. On top of that, they have Golden Tee, pull tabs, and a great back patio with a flatscreen and fire pit table in a covered back patio-perfect for chilling with friends! The best part? The staff is absolutely amazing. I came in as a stranger and left feeling like family the very first time I visited. The amount of regulars speaks for itself. Plus, they slice their own deli meats, so you'll definitely want to come hungry! If you're looking for a fun place to unwind, why not give Siren a try? You just might fall in love with a bar 😘

I’ve come here a few times after catching a game in the stadium district, it’s not a bad walk, good to get away from the crowds and grab a nightcap
Tara M — Google review
One of my preferred vibes in town. Always pretty upbeat, and every so often a hot dog or chicken fingers are necessary. Pretty cheap drinks and get some darts in!
Tom B — Google review
Ordered from this place a few times on Uber eats as it's fairly cheap and the foods ok, not great, but ok. That being said i recently got an order of a Seattle Dog and some chips and i found that the chips look to have been nuked in a oven while still in the bag leading me to wonder what happened? How do you mess up a bag of chips? So the foods ok for the price but i felt like i needed to bring this to someones attention as Uber doesn't care.

Nice little tucked off spot! Drinks were strong and well made! Customer service was lacking! Didn’t feel like I was welcomed! I wasn’t greeted and the bartenders were very cold and uninviting.
Michael — Google review
A lovely hole in the wall bar. We stopped before a concert and was greeted with the cutest puppy named Pipper. Would definitely return again.

Pub
Thunderbird Tavern, a modest shot-and-beer bar established in 1959, offers a laid-back atmosphere with pool tables, televised sports, and bingo nights. Situated next to one of Seattle's top strip clubs, the tavern was revitalized in 2014 and now features an improved beer selection and delectable hotlinks with housemade cream cheese. The interior is dimly lit but provides a cozy setting for locals to unwind. Patrons praise the friendly bartender and welcoming ambiance.
Posting keywords so this place shows up in searches because it deserves it; Patio, backyard, deck, indoor/outdoor, happy hour, cheap, food, drinks, deals, dive bar, local, brats, burgers, pickled eggs, pool tables, darts, giant jenga, so laid back Seriously I'm so glad I found this place. Friendly staff, everything listed above. Def recommend. And I'm hard to please 😂 Side note women's restroom stalls tiny 😂 separate parking lot 👍

I fell in love with this place the moment I stepped through the doors, everyone was so inviting. There are games on the patio, the food you can smell and it tastes so good. The bartender will become your best friend. It is a must see place for a good beverage and a welcoming atmosphere.
Franceska J — Google review
One of the best dive bars I have ever walked into. The service is great, pool tables to play on, the people you will meet are amazing and the back patio is perfect in the summer. If you like dive bars check this out!
Ryan J — Google review
I had the hot link with cream cheese. It was outstanding. Ian's pepper sauce has just the right amount of kick. I will be back.

Fantastic spot! Drinks are fair priced and bartenders are great. Pool tournament on Mon and bingo on Thur. All you can eat spaghetti on Sun. Limited free parking, but we’ll worth the walk!!! Two pool tables and foosball too. Excellent food!
Bill P — Google review
Adam is pretty cool, id definitely come back. Sucks that they have one stall available in the bathroom and only regular redbull but for the most part it’s just a bar. Cool people inside the bar.
Michelle — Google review
Really cool little dive bar, had a few good food options compared to most dive bars and the patrons are nice and welcoming. The bartender was a younger blonde girl (I forget her name) and she was very sweet and quick with my drink. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes a nice neighborhood bar.

Divey bar with sports & pool. Cheap drinks. Friendly staff. A bar for drinkers.
