I first discovered Taquería La Chiapaneca two years ago while staying in Tulum, and I was so excited to return in 2025. This place is absolutely fantastic! They’ve moved to a new location, which now has a beautiful inner yard where you can enjoy your food outdoors in a relaxed setting. The menu is available in both Spanish and English, so ordering is easy even if you don’t speak Spanish. They offer a great variety of beers, plus sodas and water, and the prices are very reasonable and affordable. I truly love this place and will definitely come back whenever I’m in Tulum. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic tacos and a great atmosphere!

This restaurant is towards the end of the main road that goes through Tulum. This is a must go to spot for people who love Al pastor (pork) in any vessel! The flame spit in the front roasts the pork fresh. We ordered an Al pastor torta, pollo and asada salbutes, al pastor tacos, Al pastor tostadas, guacamole, and some Jamaica juice. The star of the show is the pork! While the chicken and beef were also good, we kept ordering more Al pastor in different forms and even ended up buying the pastor by the kilo to bring some back to our hotel! The green and red salsas have great flavor, with the red one having a great kick from the habanero peppers. There is also a small salad bar for you to top your meal with onions, cilantro, radishes, or cabbage. We are so happy we found this small little spot, and will be enjoying the 1 kg of pork we bought to go (which came with tortillas, salsa, and the fresh veggies).

5 delicious tacos for 70 pesos! Amazingly filling and very tasty for the best price I have found so far! I ate one in the pic. Ordinarily I would never eat pineapples with my chicken, but it was so scrumptious. I was full after eating 3 and continued eating the rest, because I couldn’t help it. Lol

Really solid tacos, especially for Tulum. Stop by for a few beers (50 pesos each) and 4 al pastor tacos (20 pesos each) and hang out for a bit in their back courtyard. Staff is very friendly and attentive, but I do recommend looking up a few Spanish phrases to make your visit a little more seamless.

Unbeatable prices for Tulum. The Tacos al Pastor were really good, but we can’t recommend the beef ones. It was quite busy, and the staff could have been more attentive – we had to wait quite a while and were seated right next to the restroom. Probably better for takeout.

If you choose one spot to get tacos in Tulum Puebla, make it here. The al pastor tacos were so flavourful and fresh, we particularly enjoyed the added sauces and being able to choose fresh toppings to add to it. This was our first time trying micheladas and we highly recommend!

Take a long cold shower before you go to this restaurant. Go in shorts, sandals and a muscle shirt. Very hot in this place but the fans do help some... Food is great. Very tasty. Good prices. Might be the best place in town. Even tourist go to this restaurant. Chilaquiles are deli deli!! Had to tell the lady that sits the people down that there were unoccupied tables because it seemed like she didn't see them. No biggie though.

We really enjoyed our visit to Taquería Honoria. Our hotel recommended that we visit and we are so glad we did. The food was delicious and it was great to try so many different tacos. We’d been reading reviews about how good a crisp Mexican Coca Cola could be, so we chose two of those to complement our meal. One of the highlights was the beef torta, so flavourful and tender. We finished off with the flan which was great. We also really enjoyed being able to watch the staff assemble the tacos.

Must try local place. The food is tasty and inexpensive. We had the chilaquiles with chicken and eggs and a latte and it was scrumptious. We also got super lucky and got seated right away, but plan on waiting around 15-20 minutes. Definitely a must try!

Great food and packed with locals as well as some tourists. They had a variety of meats that were available in various forms (taco, salbute, torta, quesadilla) or served as a plate with tortillas. There is also a vegetarian options. I ended up getting a taco and a quesadilla. Both were delicious. Was just the right amount of food for me with no leftovers. Food comes out quickly. Place is cash only, but it's very affordable.

AtlasAdventured recommends eating here for budget friendly travelers and visitors to the area. Definitely one of the more popular and written avout restaurants in Tulum. Seems like every Tulum Food Guide had this place on their list. It was good and had great prices. Very hectic and hot when its full but that's most places in Tulum. Overall a good experience and worth trying. Cochinita Pibil Torta would've been better with some veggies or additions other than meat and bread but the meat was really good. High turnover is usually a good sign for safe meat consumption here. We had been reluctant to try low cost pork since we read some horror stories. But it was good and we enjoyed eating here. Get here early because it gets really busy around lunch time.

Excellent place to get authentic Mexican fare. Don't let the exterior be a reason you don't walk in to sit down and enjoy some delicious food. Locals are always in so you know it's the real deal.

Service, quality of food, aesthetics - everything perfect. Since prices are on European-American level here in Tulum, this place remains one of those with fair prices and excellent products and welcoming service. The rib eye burrito was the best I’ve ever had. Coffe for 50 Pesos, Burritos 140-200 pesos. Also the best banana bread of my life… 5 stars all the way!

I’d heard a lot about this place but never had the chance to try it until now! In most reviews, it’s ranked in the top 2 spots for best burritos in Tulum, and after my visit, I can see why. The vibe is cozy and relaxed, kind of like a beach-style restaurant, nothing too fancy, but it feels warm, homey, and down to earth. The staff are super friendly, welcoming, and take the time to explain the dishes really well. We ordered the ribeye burrito, shrimp aguachile, and guacamole. The guacamole was fresh but pretty average,good, but nothing special. The burrito, though, was excellent, definitely above average! It’s wrapped in banana leaves, which gives it a tender texture and a unique flavor. I really enjoyed it, and it makes sense why this burrito is always ranked among the best in Tulum. But the star for me was the shrimp aguachile. It’s a cold dish that’s spicy, tangy, and refreshing, like a perfect balance of the sea and fresh greens. Absolutely delicious!

So delicious! Burritos tasted fresh and seasoned so well. The Guac was amazing and I loved my mojito cocktail. Perfect way for us to kickoff our trip to Tulum! Service was quick and accommodating. We were a larger group but were seated immediately.

The restaurant was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The menu had loads of options for everyone - gluten free, vegan, vegetarian etc. The food came quickly and the burritos were presented beautifully. The fish burrito was delicious with lots of flavour and filling. The prices were a bit on the expensive side but tulum is not that affordable in general compared to other parts of Mexico due to mass tourism. Would recommend this place :)

Amazing vegan and vegetarian food, everything is fresh and tasty, portions are good. We had the mexican bowl and a vegan burger - both excellent. We also got to try 3 different sauces and a bowl of cacao drink. Recommend 😊

I came here for the first time and absolutely enjoyed my experience! I'm always hesitant to try new restaurants because of my food sensitivities but my server, Eduardo, was very knowledgeable about the menu and pointed out some sugar free and gluten free options including the chocolate brownie! It was so delicious. Another one of my favorites was the Sopes De Maiz, an appetizer that had tomato, avocado and sprouts. I am so so happy to have found a restaurant that is not only healthy and good for the body but also good for my taste buds as well! 10/10 will definitely be returning back very soon.

Been here the First time. Amazing. Food is more than I expected. More in everything: size, Taste and Colour. Just wowwww. Plus the guy who Served me has the cutest Smile and likes his Job. Good Job!

Absolutely loved Raw Love in Tulum! 🌿 The atmosphere is gorgeous, peaceful, and cool (such a nice spot to relax in the heat). I had a fresh coconut which was obviously delicious, then shared the Zucchini Alfredo (zucchini pasta with cashew cream, basil pesto, smoked tomatoes, walnuts, and arugula) and the Maki Rolls (nori wraps with fresh veggies). Everything was super fresh, flavorful, and 100% plant-based. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful vegan-friendly place in Tulum!

So glad we stopped here for lunch! Such a little oasis away from the chaos. We came because we wanted refreshing food and had my dog with us (this place is dog friendly!). The tamales were delicious, the blue magic was so refreshing, our smoothies were great and my mom loved her pad thai. We got free shots for leaving reviews, but I would’ve left one anyway :) Highly recommend!

The maca vanilla bowl was incredible and the mocha with orange one of the best drinks I have had in my life (it is not sweet). Must try if you stay away from refined sugar and processed foods, SO good. Service was excellent and very relaxed vibe (though personally not a fan of the interiors and style of the place, it still makes for a nice atmosphere)

Raw Love Tulum! I had heard about this place before but never got the chance to try it until now. There are two locations in Tulum since I couldn’t find the one in the hotel zone, I went to the downtown spot, and wow… what a fantastic experience! The place has such a bohemian, cool vibe that makes you feel calm and relaxed. I ordered the açaí berry bowl, quinoa salad, and chocolate cake. The açaí bowl was unlike anything I’ve ever tried 10/5! The quinoa salad was also delicious, solid 5/5. And the chocolate cake? Another perfect 5/5. This spot is definitely worth stopping by. The staff are amazing, and while it’s a little on the pricey side, the quality makes it totally worth it. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

The food is very clean and healthy, and the ambiance and vibes are amazing. This place is unique and has so much character with beautiful artwork and murals to enjoy. But the best part was the warmth and hospitality I received from the staff here. We had a rainstorm and power outage while I was here and they gave us incredible hospitality and conversation. Adam and Noalie are total gems - such warm people that make you feel at home.

This experience was amazing, the good healthy food that was filling but yet left with enough space for desert! My server was from Argentina and it made me feel like I was at home. The Vegan Burger was delicious and the COCONUT… ORDER THE WHILE COCONUT FOR A BEVERAGE. 10/10 I recommend this to everyone coming to Tulum

It was sooo delicious! The food was made with fresh ingredients and well seasoned. The coffee was also great. The server was knowledgeable about their menu and had great suggestions. This will be a restaurant i will visit again next time we vacation

We loved our brunch at Del Cielo!!! The environment is outdoor airy and all the staff carry an enthusiastic smile. They were very eager to take care of all our requests. I’m a bit of a coffee snob and I got a caramel cappuccino that was perfect. I also got the eggs Benedict that were on top of a crispy hash brown instead of any kind of bread at that was a brilliant combo. The açaí was mixed with coconut yogurt had great taste to it. The environment was so inviting we stayed a bit and talked after we were done eating. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Tulum Centro! Went here 3 times in a week. Lovely atmosphere, food is so fresh and plentiful, staff is so friendly. My husband and I tried so many things and loved them all! Highlights include: -Super Bowl -Tropical smoothie - Chilaquiles -Huevos Rancheros -Breakfast combo (the tomatoes are so good I spooned them into my mouth lol)

I really love this cafe. When in Tulum, we come there quite often for breakfast. Unusual, large, delicious portions of food. I especially like combos. Friendly staff. Everything is wonderful.

Grossest food I’ve eaten 🤢 . The coffee was bad (sour milk), the yogurt tasted like something foul was in it, and the chilaquiles were horrible, the taste was like watery tomatoes, in addition this was fresh out of the kitchen all of the chips were soggy 🌧️ ! How does that happen? The staff is nice, and the atmosphere is good, but my oh my the food was so bad. I think a lot of ingredients were expired. I’ve eaten all over the world and had some bad food, but this was so bad me and my wife didn’t even eat more than a few nibbles and left.

21/07/2025 Such a popular cafe!✨ I arrived before noon, but by lunchtime it was nearly full with lots of people coming in🕛🌞 I ordered the breakfast menu MX$160and added salmon MX$70 ☀️ You can choose between fried eggs or scrambled eggs 🍳I went with scrambled, and it was the right choice 🙂😋💜 It came with sauce, but the avocado, salmon, and eggs were already full of flavor, so I enjoyed it as it was⭐️ The bread was soft and easy to eat I really liked the texture, kind of like French bread🥖✨ The atmosphere was very relaxing, perfect for taking it easy 🍽️ Definitely check out their Instagram! 📱💖 ✨ @delcielo_bistrotropical✨ Gracias 🙂

I had a great meal at Safari Comedor Zama and would definitely recommend it. The Shrimp Mole Verde Taco was outstanding—easily the highlight of the meal. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the mole verde was rich, vibrant, and full of depth. I also can’t say enough good things about the Corn Esquite—it was warm, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. I’d go back just for those two dishes alone. The Guacamole Ying Yang was also delicious and fun to share, but the Crispy Fish Taco and Ceviche Tostada didn’t quite live up to the others—fine, but not something I’d reorder. All in all, a strong four-star experience. The setting is lovely, the service was friendly, and when the food is good, it’s really good.

AtlasAdventured recommends eating here. We lived in Aldea Zama for a month and since this place was right across the street, we ate her multiple times and the food was always good. Our server was the same each time and he was really nice half the time and seemed annoyed that we sat down the other half. But overall it is still worth stopping by for a meal. We ordered quite a few different items but our favorites, and the ones we would recommend are the: Nopal y Hongos Tacos Shrimp Diabla Gringa Quesadilla Fish tacos They have good happy hour specials on drinks. Make sure to put on Mosquito spray since its open air seating. Food is average value for Tulum and is definitely one of the better quality foods at this price point in the area.

New favorite place wow. The service is on point. Love the iPad menus on the table. The fruit above the bar is very appealing. Music was at the right volume - you couldn’t hear the construction outside but it wasn’t too loud to talk to people. Very flavorful and fresh food. Establishment felt clean and well cared for all around. They also had solid vegetarian / plant based options!

Today we visited this place, and overall, we enjoyed it. The tacos were very tasty, hearty, and flavorful. However, what we didn’t like was the very slow service. It felt like the waitstaff was taking their time, moving slowly and taking a while to process orders. We waited almost 15 minutes just for the order to be taken. Between waiting for one thing and another, it added up. That said, we will definitely come back, but these are my first impressions.

My partner went to Safari years ago when it was closer to the beach so we wanted to check out the new place. The restaurant is located in a new residential development and while you don’t get the Tulum “beach” vibe, it’s a very refreshing experience! The service was great and the food is perfect. The tacos are exactly what you imagine a perfect taco being - get them all. We also got the crudo and it was really, really good! We also loved the salsa trio and chips that came with it. It was the first time I had the blackened habanero salsa and I fell in love.

Fantastic tacos and very good staff I accidentally gave too much cash to the guy taking my order and he was honest enough to give it all back The food was clean and flavourful. I suggest adding a bit of lime and maybe one of their three sauces they have available (this parts DIY) It’s such a vibe to sit on the street corner and eat it all up too English isn’t that strong here so be prepared to play a bit of charades. The staff were patient and happy to work with us though

Absolutely love this place! Their food is the best seasoned one I have tried in Mexico. Since I don't really eat meat, except chicken, I loved their chickens gringas - the chicken was cut to very small pieces which I liked a lot. The staff is very nice as well. And they also have limonada de pepino (cucumber lemonade), so make sure to grab one.

Honestly not the best al pastor tacos I’ve ever had - tacos were mid - but I guess a good price.

in terms of street food, this is my favourite. it’s always packed and the waiting time is sometimes very long (we once waited up to 30min - worth it though). if they’re busy taking orders you kinda need to make your way through the front and place your order (there’s not a line for ordering). great deal (5 pastor tacos for MXN50).

Absolutely brilliant. Authentic street food. Food was a 10/10. Many locals also eat here. Prices totally fair. It was a great experience. You won't find exemplary kitchen hygiene here, but that should simply be disregarded. ;) Service fast and friendly! Highly recommended!

This was the first restaurant we tried in tulum. We went on a Saturday night and the margaritas were 2 for 1. Our server was Nicolas and he was very welcoming and helpful. My husband had the short rib tacos, which were a bit boring but still good. I however, enjoyed the octopus tacos, it was bursting with flavor and so delicious. We also enjoyed guacamole, the chips were wonderful and guac was fresh, I also really liked the serving dish they came on.

We unfortunately didn’t have a great dining experience here. Our shrimp tacos you can see from the pictures, speaks for itself. Our children’s meal was also not fantastic. We expected abit better considering the price tag. It is a beautiful spot to dine in.

My favorite restaurant in Tulum because of the ambiance. Servers do assume you're not a big ticket if you're solo. So they tend to bigger tables with more enthusiasm. My steak was undercooked this time, but that's never happened before. Overall, it's always a treat.

Reservations is needed very popular dining place. Parking is a nightmare but you can find some few blocks away. Setting is gorgeous! Built,giving you a tree house vibe. Outdoor ambiance is stunning and romantic. Service is great. Constantly being checked on during dinner. They cater for nut allergies and are kid friendly. We had the octopus with coconut rice and side of their special habanero sauce. Coconut rice was more sticky rice. We also ordered fried rice and fish ceviche. Fish ceviche was very tangy for my liking. It was not tasty due to so much lime. Fried rice however hit the spot. Came with chipotle sauce which paired well. Good vibe here and perfect for large crowds.

Honestly this place was disappointing. I was expecting a better service meaning do not wait 30 min for food, and let me highlight this was low season ( 1st week of June). Went to go grab some tequila before we left Tulum. This shop was on the corner. Got a lil bit of breakie and lunch. Had the chiliquiles and added steak (after checking with the kitchen). Perfect crunch to salsa ratio. Everyone's tostada and tacos were great with sol and shot. Id definitely go back. Service was great!

Good Mexican food and good service! Although it seems to be a franchise or “chain”-Restaurant the food was very good - comparable to the food you get on the streets but always in addition with a bit of a “special” (i.e. cheese crust on the tortillas). Also made a very clean impression. The restaurant opened only a week ago.

We had very nice service and were welcomed very friendly! The food was extremely tasty, especially the mixed cerviche. Pricing is fair and the atmosphere is nice, too. It was very warm though, but that was due to the open windows and doors. Would highly recommend this place ;)

I went to this place on a trip to Tulum. I sat at the bar and loved the bartender who was very knowledgeable about tequila, mascal, and Tulum. The food was great especially the salmon tostada. I also ordered the steak tacos, which were a little dry, and the Shrimp tacos which were good but needed some type of acid to cut the friend batter. Only issue we had was they had a sign for 2 for 1 cocktails. When the bill arrived, we were then told that the specual was only from 4 to 6 PM even though the sign did not state as such. Makes no sense also to have a special during dinner time and not 4 to 5 PM when we went.

Great price for even more amazing authentic tacos!! Highly recommend, these were the best tacos I’ve had in Tulum. We had 5 sirloin and 5 pastor (which were my favourite), both so flavourful and came with great salsas!

Classic open air restaurant with plastic chairs. Quality food, authentic ingredients, excellent guac and chips, ice cold beers, tasty hot sauce and the tacos Arrachera were juicy, delicious and had me wanting more. I will be back.

This restaurant is very clean. We ate there two times because how flavorful and clean it is. Prices are affordable and service is quick. Many other restaurant options around but this one was a great choice. Tacos pastor and Sirloin, queso & chorizo, horchata, etc, everything was very good.

Foods amazing. The tacos are some of the best I’ve had. The mango juice also was perfectly sweet. I’d avoid the quesadilla tho. Nothing wow.

This is a fantastic place to visit for a quick and flavorful meal. The food is authentic, well prepared, and fresh. They have a good selection of dishes that are moderately priced. The service was good, and the order came out quickly. We tried the Tacos and Tortas. The taco was served on 2 soft tortillas, and it was loaded with delightful minced pork. The Torta was super stuffed with carne Al pastor. Both dishes were nicely seasoned and didn't have any hot pepper added. If you wanted some heat, you could add hot sauces from a condiment tray. Overall, the food was tastey, warm, and well well received. If traveling in Tulum, you should check this spot out.

Probably the best tacos we had during our stay in Mexico. A lot of different salsas, perfectly seasoned and juicy meat and fresh ingredients. Why can't restaurants in Playa del Carmen be as good as Tropi Tacos in Tulum. Service was friendly and helpful as well, always a smile on their face. Food come out quick from the kitchen and tastes amazing. The location itself is nice too, a bit off the main street, but still very good to reach. We stopped by because of the very good reviews, and at the end we weren't disappointed. All in all a perfectly fine lunch! Just be aware that they add a fee if you want to pay with credit cards. I can't remember how much the fee was, but it definitely stuck into my mind that it was way higher than the usual.

Best tacos of our entire trip! We were walking along 307 looking for a dinner spot and my wife and I stopped in our tracks when we saw the al pastor rotating on a spit in front of a charcoal fire. Decision made. We got a variety: pastor, chorizo, puerco and arrachera. The charcoal smoke flavor of the al pastor was magic..wish I would've gotten 10 more haha. The prices were great too, around $140 for 7 tacos.

A review for a taqueria like El Carboncito for me boils down to the taste and quality of their taco. No, their drinks aren't the greatest and this taqueria is located in a parking lot on the tulum strip, so no points for ambience. It's about the delicious charcoal cooked pastor tacos, their centerpiece. Grab a couple cold beers across the street, sit down on a rickety chair, enjoy your meal and the people watching.

The food was good (not the best tacos in Tulum)the drinks were bad- very watered down Horchata and Jamaica. I really do recomend the Arrachera torta with cheese. What I did not like was the service. These kids are not trained enough and they overcharged me. I am not saying it was done intentionally, however, I do suggest checking your total before you pay to make sure that it is accurate.

Best street tacos we had in Tulum. We came back three times. The Al pastor is cooked with charcoal, and excellent. Arrachera tacos were excellent also. The jamaica drinks were great and they give you at least 32 oz worth.

This is right in the downtown of La Veleta and serves one of the best Ceviches and combo of tacos. We had the black ceviche and fried octopus with the sampler tacos combo - it was great! The serving size was decent too. Definitely recommend!

Great experience here. Very close to ADO bus station. If you have a bit of a wait I highly recommend coming here while being in Tulum. Food was quite good. The sauces that come are tasty. The piña coladas (happy hour) were excellent. We had 3 pescados and 3 camarón tacos. Also had a bunch of XX so that factors into our pricing. But overall very fair and affordable price. Everything we got here was phenomenal! The hibiscus agua fresca, the watermelon agua Fresca and the Horchata were amazing and we all chugged them after our cenotes tour. I’m pretty sure that we got every single type of taco they offer and not one disappointed! I would be careful with the chilly oil though because it will sneak up on you and take you out if you’re not careful hahaha!

We came to the one in the hotel zone in the offseason so nobody was really there but it was still a vibe. We got the Best Steak Tacos I've had so far. The tenderness, the flavor, just done so right and came out delicious. We also had Piña Coladas! The food was amazing! I got the Pastor nachos, the meat had a nice smoky flavor and the jalapeño added a little sweetness cause I was expecting it to be spicy but it wasn’t! Nice place with good food. Most of what we ordered was quite yummy. Cocktails were disappointing though. Quick and friendly service. The street is bustling with life and music, especially at night. Later there were some mariachis walking between the tables, but their repertuar was somewhat limited. It was fun though to watch them perform.

Like many places in the Tulum area, the restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside (especially compared to the hotel zone), but once you step inside, everything changes. In one corner of the restaurant, there’s a big pot on the fire where the meat cooks for 10–14 hours (according to the waiter), which adds to the experience. The service was fantastic! I highly recommend starting with the corn appetizer it was insanely good, and I’ll never forget the taste. Prices are a little higher than other restaurants in downtown Tulum, but still way cheaper than the hotel zone and the food is much better. My partner and I went for dinner at Negro huitlacoxe on a Wednesday and loved it so much we went back again for dinner the next night! The first night we went we had a waiter named Jose, he was absolutely excellent! Very attentive to the table and very good at speaking English as we speak basic Spanish. The next night we had a waiter named Julian who was equally as proficient, all around we had fantastic service from everyone! The atmosphere is next level, the outdoor setting is tropical plants, vibrant lights, fantastic music, open kitchen and rustic decor. Lastly the food! To start we tried their signature dish which was corn ribs which were out of this world! We also had birra tacos and birra quesadilla’s with consomé as well as grilled beef and chorizo vampiro, which was like a tostada for lack of my Mexican cuisine knowledge. Which were all amazing! The cocktails we had were delicious and exceeded expectations with the restaurant giving their own unique expression and creativity to old and new. 10/10! Would go back a third time if we were here for longer! Thank you for such a fantastic experience!

Wonderful, friendly workers, and they spoke English which helped with our minimal Spanish speaking skills. Prices were solid, spent about $25 for an aperol spritz and a meal! This was the best food we ate in Mexico hands down: fine dining, street tacos, this place beat them all. The menu is extensive so we asked the waiters to recommend their favourites and we where glad we did as we had some items we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. I usually get something unique when traveling but the stuffed chicken description looked so delicious and it was. It started raining during dinner and the staff was quick to get us moved under the covered portion of the restaurant. Love the atmosphere.

An English speaking waiter kept addressing me as “my boy”, constantly flirted with my partner, and kept interrupting our dining experience by asking her personal questions including where she’s from and when she will be back. Food was ok but that gentleman ruined our dining experience so we will not be returning.

El Takazo Jr – A Place Made with Heart This place completely blew us away. El Takazo Jr isn’t just a restaurant, it’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve found something special. We ordered the fried fish, gringas, quesadilla, and camarones chipilín, and every bite was incredible. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with love. The drinks were also delicious, refreshing and a perfect match to the meal. What really made the experience unforgettable was the service. Marin took amazing care of us so attentive, kind, and thoughtful. Angel also came by to check in on us, which meant a lot. They even made small changes to the dishes just to accommodate us, which says so much about how much they care about their guests. It’s rare to find service like this, genuine and full of heart. The vibe of the place is super chill, clean, and welcoming. The kind of spot you just want to hang out at. Huge thank you to the entire team, especially the cooks in the kitchen. We truly felt the love in everything you served. If you’re in Tulum and looking for somewhere authentic, delicious, and filled with good energy, this is it. The quesadilla was really good and the pastor tacos were tasty as well (a tad too much seasoning for my taste). My dinner mates also enjoyed their meals as well. Service was excellent. Would definitely return.

Had a great experience with Ricardo for the mezcal cheese tasting. He was very knowledgeable (also a wine sommelier), and gave us tips for tasting and identifying different notes through sight, smell, and taste. We were surprised that the cheeses paired really well and allowed the mezcals to shine. We also stayed for dinner and were impressed with our tacos/meal.

Update: I ordered the flank steak with potatoes & tomatoes and it was a great choice. The waiters were kind and the cooks did a fantastic job! The calm atmosphere was the cherry on top, kudos to Mamazul!

Great spot for a laid back dinner... Mosquitos abound so dont forget your insect repellent. The food was really good. My husband loved the hot sauce. Chimichurri was delightful! Steaks were cooked perfectly! The churro dessert was perfect. Didn't like tbe ice cream too much.

The ambiance is spot on, with live music most nights of the week adding energy to an already vibrant space. Tacos start at around 80 MXN, with most mains in the 100–200 MXN range, making it a great value for the quality and atmosphere. One of the best ways to kick off your Tulum trip.

Visited during low season and it is very apparent, we were the only people on a Saturday night dining. Food was good and service was great, pricing could be better based on the quality of food.

Mamozul is one of the best restaurants we’ve visited in Tulum. First of all, the interior design is stunning—words can’t do justice to the details. When it comes to fine touches in decor, these guys are professionals. The place is absolutely top-notch, a solid 10 out of 10. The service was also fantastic—super friendly and attentive staff. They were very polite and made sure we were well taken care of. There were some delays with the food, but they kept us informed the entire time, letting us know it would be out soon. So, no complaints there. As for the food and drinks, everything was exceptional. The dishes were top-tier, the alcohol was of the highest quality, and the presentation, design, and style of everything were spot on. We loved every bit of it.

Had the Seitan Tacos, with a mild sauce topping. Ordered 1 as a start, ended up having 3! The taste was super, and the service from the guy ( not sure of his name) was great. Small place with lots of quirky slogans, I loved it. It’s in central Tulum, so really conveinient

Can’t tell you how many tacos I ate here over our 5 days in Tulum. And for the price? I should/could have eaten a lot more. We were lucky enough to be staying right around the corner. Extensive vegan options, between my girlfriend and I we didn’t have a single taco we didn’t love. Definitely go check them out! Including the cacao shop attached next door. Wonderful people. Incredible food. Looking forward to eating here again when we return to Tulum

El Bajón Vegan is a must in Tulum! The tostadas with the Chorizo Rojo (chickpeas & sunflower seeds) were insanely good – I ordered another round on the spot. The tacos are loaded with fillings, super tasty, and at such a good price. The vibe is awesome and honestly, even if you’re not vegan you’ll love it… but if you are vegan, this place is an absolute must. 🌮✨

Best Vegan place in TULUM!!! Unfortunately we found them on our last day in town and decided on having seconds that night, they are SOO good. We found out by the owner there’s another in PDC we will go for lunch and dinner💚 We started with a Huarache with Chorizo, and 4 tacos one of Milanesa, Pastor, Chorizo and Carnitas. Every single one of them delicious! So much so there was no pause for pictures. On the second order we got Milanesa tacos and a Carnitas tacos, if we could fit it we’d order the same thing it was so good. Make a point to visit and also try their guava dessert, a true delicacy. Below is the only pic we had enough thought to take, full joying the meal and flavors. Many thanks and blessings to the owner for sharing their gift with us!

This place is epic! I’ve never had them be rude to me before and I’ve come here like 10 times. The food is amazing. Unlike most Vegan places, they actually have about 10 different types of tacos. Most only have 1-3. They have something I’ve never even seen before called a huarache! It’s sooo amazing, must try! Also, they have very affordable prices compared to the rest of Tulum. Lastly, they make delectable cupcakes. Chocolate, Dulce De Leche, and carrot. All FIRE! P.s. they have the most authentic Cacao shop in Tulum next door to them too!!! I am from Alabama, this is all a genuine sincere review. I’ve been in Tulum one year now so I know wassup.🔥🔥

No frills authentic pozole soup. Most people come to Tulum for the fancy restaurants, but this is the good stuff. Outdoor seating no aircon so be prepared to sweat a bit, but it’s worth it. Location is easy to miss if there’s cars parked out front. I eat here at least once a week. I always get the green pozole as it’s special, but it seems the fan favorite is the red. Medium is more than enough to fill you up but if you want something special order a sopa. If there’s 4 of you order a mole chilaquiles to share. You’ll see lots of locals so you know it’s the good stuff. Also as friendly on the wallet as can be. Service is always fast and super friendly. LUNCH ONLY!! Make sure you don’t miss this experience!!

This place is the real deal. Great local fare at a reasonable price. The Pozole is fantastic, the mole enchiladas stuffed with cheese are delicious and the lime cucumber agua frescas are large and refreshing. Great place, don't miss it.

Amazing food 🎖😍😍 Everything is super tasty and on point. We opted for the quesadillas, 3 different ones- rajas, chicharron prensado y tinga de pollo. We also got the enchiladas de mole (chicken). Everything was delicious. The wait was about 20 min - and absolutely worth it. HIGHLY RECCOMEND for authentic, tasty food. Service is fast and friendly.

Very rude server. Came here twice, thinking maybe she just had a bad day. Nope, simply rude both trips. First time, I ordered the veggie burger. It was great, but the potato portion is very small. Second time, I ordered french toast. It looked great, but it was wet and uncooked in the middle. I could only enjoy the edges. The worst part, was the rude server ripping off my change. My total was 70 pesos. I paid 100 and she gave me back 10. I always tip well, however, I guess she took it upon herself to tip herself. I will not return. What a shame.

Fabulous place. Great variety of food (for vegetarians as well and meat lovers), it is super tasty and fresh. I had the most amazing pineapple juice here and I have tasted a few :) It is a small business and I am so happy to see this in Tulum which is crowded with tourists and touristic restaurants. We came here for breakfast two days in a row while staying in Tulum. Both times I ordered the Enfrijoladas. So delicious!!! Good coffee as well.

I asked if I could pay with my credit card and they said yes, but when it came to pay, I had to wait an hour for them to charge the credit card machine. They gave me an attitude and were very disrespectful. I had to get up to ask for my food several times and the check. Would not recommend, but the best service

Best place in town to eat Mexican delicious food. They have a lot of different options, good prices and also they have vegetarian and vegan choices. It’s an small but really cozy place. I have tried a lot of places to eat in town but DELI FRESH is for real the best place in town and my favorite one :)

This new restaurant has an eco chic boho style design with private tables in different levels of the restaurant. Great for bigger groups of friends. Their dinner menu is small which is a good sign to me. They offer around 5 vegan dishes, 1-2 vegetarian dishes, and 2 fish dishes. I had their watermelon juice which was pretty freshing. Then, the friendly server brought out the amazing complimentary garlic bread with chimichurri sauce. So I though woah this place is going to be amazing. I ended up ordering the quesadilla, the quinoa bowl, and the mushroom enchilada. My favorite was the quinoa/lentil bowl, it was a very peculiar smokey mildly spicy taste which I had not experienced before. The enchilada came in second as it was just an okay dish, after the quinoa bowl you just expect more, a few things could be improved in this dish, the mushroom filling needed some flavour. The quesadilla was unfortunately the last, it barely had any filling , super dry. It had a creative twist with a green leaf around it but the day I came in for it , it wasn't good. So for dessert they make this amazing corn/banana ice cream. It's has some of the corn fibers in there which is different but super delicious, innovative! Tasted like a modern twist in vegan Mexican dessert. I'd come back just for that bread, the quinoa bowl, and the Ice cream. 🤩

First time in i ordered the green smoothie and as a courtesy was given 2 cups instead of 1, which i thoroughly enjoyed. It was very refreshing. Second time in, on our way out of town, they accommodated our needs and made us lunch during breakfast time. We ordered a pizza and the avocado toast which was sooo delicious. I highly recommend the avocado toast, i would seriously come back to Tulum just for that! The environment was very relaxing, it was designed perfectly. Customer service was great also! Thank you!

Wonderful Airbnb! The kitchen was being renovated while we were here, so we didn't get the full menu. But the fresh breakfast was wonderful and the people ar all so nice! This town has many vegan restaurants too! Definitely a great place for a vegan vacation. Stay here and you won't be disappointed!

I followed a recommendation from my hostel. However the food was so bad I didn't even eat half off it. I ordered Motuleños but cheese and ham tasted off and the eggs had black spots all over them guessing from the pan. Good was the cappuccino though.

Smoothies and aguas are so fresh and delicious as is the food. I have been coming here for more than 3 years and I have always had a good experience and a great meal. Love this cute restaurant on the main avenue in Tulum centro. There are vegetarian and vegan options, traditional both Mexican and Western options. Love the açai bowls here, bigger portion than the other açai bowl cafe in Tulum. Today, I picked the black couscous with eggplant, very tasty, just wish it's bigger portion, alongside a fresh beetroot juice 😋The restaurant is decorated with dream catchers and walls painted with animals and jungle style. Healthy food that doesn't make you feel guilty!

We waited for like 35 minutes (we were the only 2 people at the restaurant) for a mediterranean bowl that had almost no taste and ended up paying 420 Mexican pesos for 2 plates and 2 waters. The waitress had no idea of the menu and was not able to answer to our questions. I guess its a place for coffee or sweet bowls, but definitely not for having lunch.

I'm visiting Tulum and had a really great time here! I really enjoyed the unique fusion of cuisine. I tried the taco de cangrejo (fried crab in a crispy taco shell) and the rib eye fusion roll. Everything was delicious and a nice changeup from the typical offerings in the area. I sat at the bar with Rosas and he provided very attentive service, great recommendations, and friendly conversation. Some of the best margaritas I've had and all made with real fruit! I'd highly recommend the maracuya margarita with chile de arbol 🌶️ I went on a Thursday and there was live music. Overall I had a great time, and would highly recommend. I look forward to returning!!

Who knew mayapanese food would be the fusion we need?! The Mexican sake was great and the rolls were creative and tasty. The tempura fried cheese sticks with passionfruit sweet chili sauce were the best.

Great spot!! Local/in my neighborhood. Staff is super friendly and makes great recomendaciones. I had a couple of rolls but the soft shell crab taco was outstanding with toriados chilis/a recommendation from Alexis. That isn't something I would normally order but I tend to listen when the staff is passionate about the menu. The passion fruit mezcalita was fantastic!! Their dessert options were great too! Great local spot!

Great food, awesome ambience and live music. I had a chance to try octopus dish and shrimp tacos. Both are fantastic and I will be back for more. I visited on Friday night, they had live music and fire show which was very very good! Music band was playing great tune, you could tell everyone was happy. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Delicious tacos! Al pastor, birria, champequena, and chorizo all delicious. But the star is the verduras escabiche served as an appetizer. So tasty. Atmosphere is bare bones, but with lots of character. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is cooked in an open grill station while you watch!

This is such a great place off the beaten path from the strip. Amazing service and food. We went here twice during our trip because my fiancé loved it so much. Very local and authentic food. Strawberry daiquiri was around ~$7 and IT WAS BOMB 💥 Prices were very reasonable (Edit:The menu price is in pesos not US dollars.)

Updated Review after coming back three years after initial review: 3/27/23 ITS STILL ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PLACE TO EAT AND DRINK! We came back to the area for another family vacation, this time we brought more family. After taking them to a few other “hot spots” in the area everyone was blown away with the flavor (get birria!!) of the meat and the dishes. The tortilla soup is amazing, the nachos and the tacos are absolutely delicious, and they do not skimp on their drinks. La beuna Vida and other places serve you very light in the alcohol in hopes you’ll buy more shots and increase your bill, this place serves normal drinks in a good way! And our wait staff worked so hard to help our large group the entire time we were there. Hands down love this place! Initial review in February 2020: Dear lord we love this place. The vibe is great, the service is outstanding and the food absolutely nails it every time. The waiter (sawyer) spoke perfect English. The burgers are amazing, too! The portion of the meat they give in the tacos is generous. At 20$ (mxn) per taco we never leave hungry. Dont bother with other places, at least not yet. Come here first!

the best Mexican food in my entire life!! we had the purple fish ceviche, grilled octopus, beef short rib (a little sweet, but perfectly cooked), and 3 different cocktails. the ambiance is so chill, and the music is lovely and unique. there was a guy playing the saxophone and then he switched it up to the guitar. the prices were fair and the seating was unique. it has a hang out vibe and seating, like a bar, yet the food is absolutely amazing! our server was bilingual, too.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Tulum. I come here every time and it’s always the short rib I get. It’s incredible. I’m a foodie and this place is my favorite. Cocktails also on point. Quaint and nice atmosphere. 😍

We dined at TU following our mezcal tasting with Sam, which was simply brilliant. And we can't recommend this restaurant highly enough! The food, fusion and delicate, Mexican from several regions and sophisticated, is incredible. So far, it's the best we've had in Mexico and in Tulum. Far from the exuberant prices of Tulum beach, the value for money is unbeatable and above all, the dishes are really delicious with as many meat and fish options as vegan and vegetarian for me. So we recommend it to anyone who wants quality local food.

Absolutely fantastic meal and the service was equally Impressive. We visited the restaurant last year on our holiday and knew we had to come back to Mexico from Scotland to experience it again. It truly did not disappoint! The ceviche is the best I have tried! Already looking forward to my next visit.

When you are a foodie, just look at the menu. You will understand. Ingredients are key and the menu is not so big. We came here for dinner with no expectations, we only wanted to go here because we walked by it 3 times, and each time, the atmosphere was refined. From the music to the lighting and the decor. We ordered mostly all vegan options and it was mouth watering delicious. We had the mushroom with beets, the stuffed peppers and sweet potato as an appetizer. The sweet potato was perfectly cooked, super soft in the inside and crispy on the outside. Prior to our appetizer, they offered us bread with a mushroom spread. The bread was perfectly toasted. Warm and right amount of crisp. I can go on about the balanced taste of the food but I would say, it’s their sourced ingredients and chefs skills combination that made our dinner so memorable. Lastly, we had the BEST FLAN cake with chocolate ice cream on the side. The cherry on top! The services was fantastic. Always important factor to give a restaurant complete 5-5 stars. Love seeing creatively and passion at this level.

Loved this place so much we came back for my birthday dinner. Super friendly service and above all the food is delicious. As vegetarians, we ordered a selection from the lunch menu for our dinner - nachos, tacos, fajitas and quesadillas - plus fruit juice. Everything amazing. Also really nice to find somewhere run by locals and more down to Earth than some of the places along the main street in la Veleta.

This is a real gem. Don’t pass it by! We had breakfast here twice on the last two days of our stay in tulum and wish we found it earlier! We couldn’t have loved this restaurant more. The staff were so happy and friendly, singing along to music in the background as they prepared some fantastic food. Everything was super fresh, they have a little herb garden in the front which makes for a beautiful setting. We VERY much enjoyed our breakfast burrito, strong good coffee and smoothies. The plus is everything is so reasonably priced and they are honest enough not to add on a 20% tip like everywhere else in the area. This felt like the only authentic Mexican restaurant we came across in tulum (I know there are probably more but you have to hunt them out).

I came here because they had 4,9 stars. Very weird these days hack g that rating. As soon as you get to the place is like feeling at home. No jokes, I have eaten in many places in Mexico, including CDMX. I paid high prices in places that were more cool or fancy… but… this places TOP NOTCH. Imagine your mom making your favourite food. That’s how they cook and treat you in this place. I got a mango Juice and I had to repeat! Natural juices made with a lot of love. I ordered the octopus, fajitas and burrito… I couldn’t tell you which one was best. Don’t expect a Star Michelin meal, but expect love, good ingredients and a great vibe. Best food in Tulum!! Thank you family for the great experience. A place like this in the beach area of Tulum would be charging you triple, so don’t miss out this place if you are coming to Tulum.

Chenchos is a hidden gem - unpretentious, yet serving top-notch seafood! Their ceviche was exceptional, and the grilled camarones al ajo with perfectly grilled veggies was to die for. We also met the lovely resident feline, Michi 🐈‍⬛, the Russian Blue Cat. If you're a seafood lover, they also have great pasta Chenchos is a must-visit!

The most delicious authentic food! So cheap to eat and the venue was full of locals. Lunch for 2 cost less than 200 pesos. Portions were huge and extremely tasty. Was recommended the chilaquiles and it did not disappoint. So glad we visited!

Local restaurant with authentic Mexican food. Literally going to dream about this meal. Went here for breakfast. Had the eggs with chorizo and chicken quesadilla. Both were DELICIOUS! Flan was literally melting in my mouth. We also got a small pineapple and small mango agua. All of this cost us around 250 pesos with tip. Literally the best meal of our trip. Amazing tacos! We went with a group of 6 guys, and no one had a bad meal. We also ordered meat by the kilo to go. If you eat there you can bring your own drinks. The chorizo taco was one of the best I've ever had.

Ohlala, absolutely delicious, juicy, fresh, tasty, full of flavours, colourful and I could continue and continue.. I had quesadilla and the portion was just huge, you may add sauces which you like and how much you like.. Many is really nice, welcoming and help you to choose if you are lost in options;) In short, great experience which you want to try!

Had a mix burrito and hibiscus water and both were spot on. The burrito was large enough that it’s not possible for one person to finish it in one sitting. Good ambience, gets busier as the night progresses, and decently priced.

My fave taco spot in Tulum. Quality of the meats were great and the price is amazing. I tried to avoid eating at restaurant that appeal to tourist as prices are comparable to back where I’m from in Toronto, Canada. The chorizo taco was my fave. I will definitely be back on my next visit!

This local spot is in a great location right off the Main Street where a lot of the bars are downtown. I got a cucumber-lime drink and 3 tacos (beef, pork, and veggie) for $110 pesos. Each taco comes with two corn tortillas and being the carb lover I am, I always split the contents of a taco between both tortillas to make 2 smaller tacos. They taste amazing, by the way! The staff is friendly and helpful, too. The street vendors quality is sometimes a hit or miss, but Tacos Many’s hits it every time.

So glad we found this place by accident. The restaurant recommended us trying the pork. the pork curry is very delicious 10/10. I ordered many dishes made from pork. They are really good. They also add some rice in the dish.

If you want the local experience and tons of taco options, this is the place for you! I tried the chile relleno taco and really loved it! I also had the egg and endemic spinach taco. That one was just ok. Important, don’t skip out on the salsas - there’s a whole bar with options!

These are the best tacos in all of Tulum (tried many tacos over an 8 day span in Tulum). Favorites are the huevos con chorizo and the picadillo but you can’t go wrong. I will be back soon!

We went to Las Cazuelas on the last day of our trip despite not wanting another taco as we had eaten so many already. I'm so glad we went as these were may favorite tacos. I ordered the chicken mole and the flavor was sweet and so good. I loved the chile with cheese taco. The last one I had was the chicken and potato, which was also very good but the other 2 were my favorite. They had a toppings bar with lot to choose from. My mouth wanted to try another taco but I was too full. I highly ,highly recommend this place for variety and flavor of the tacos.

Casa Dumpling – Tulum This is a small and colorful place with a cute little patio. We spent 250 pesos for 6 fried dumplings and shrimp rice. The food was tasty and enough to feel full. Lencha, our waiter from Chiapas, was very sweet and gave us great service. Yaoyao was also very kind and made us feel welcome. A nice spot if you want something different in Tulum!

Steps off the main street in tulum. Yao casa dumplings is a surprisingly great little restaurant. I ordered the 12 dumplings - 6 pork, 6 beef boiled. It was prepared relatively quickly and delivered promply . The pork and beef dumplings were actually really, really good. There was a spicy sauce and some extra tasty soya sauce. The tottal price was 180 pesos, which for tulum is a bargin !!!! The resturant has an indoor and cool outdoor space . It was a cool experience and ill definitely go back and try the terayaki bowls !!!!! Id recommend checking it out if you are in the mood for some dumplings !!! Theyre proper !!!!!

I like this spicy noodles very much! The noodles at this restaurant are absolutely delicious! They’re perfectly cooked. The spice level of the noodles is customizable, which is perfect for catering to different taste preferences. The portion size is generous, and I couldn't even finish it all. Great value for the price—highly!

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Extremely disappointing! The environment was terrible, and I could see that the kitchen was dirty. We arrived around 6 PM, and there were no other customers—just two Mexican staff members. We ordered a serving of wontons, fried rice, and rice noodles. It took more than 20 minutes for the food to be served. The five wontons we received all had broken wrappers. The vegetable fried rice was made with stale, sticky rice, with barely any vegetables and only tiny traces of egg that you’d need a magnifying glass to find. The rice noodles were even worse—completely flavorless, as if they were just soaked in water with a bit of soy sauce. Other than the dumplings, we barely touched the rest of the food. Honestly, any Chinese person cooking at home could make a better meal than this. If you’re running a restaurant, you shouldn’t serve Chinese food this poorly!

I have never before seen such a scam. The food in the pictures on their website is a complete lie. I love Chinese food and was so excited to try this place. The food I received through delivery was inedible. It had the skin on it, chunks in the soup, and the dumplings were wet with oil and filled with cold fillings. Please do not go here. I have no idea where these positive reviews come from, it is unsettling. Even after the few bites I took I didn't feel well after.
