Boutique
Mixik is a vibrant store offering traditional Mexican crafts, distinct from typical tourist souvenirs. Located in both the hotel zone and downtown, it showcases hand-painted ceramics, embroidered blouses, and unique skulls and skeletons at reasonable prices. This artisanal boutique on the main highway near Calle Jupiter Norte in Tulum features a diverse range of affordable handmade items from Mexico. Visitors can find clothes, homewares, folk art pieces, and more.
Beautiful store with very unique findings that are all made in Mexico. Not the typical tourist stuff. It is definitely worth a stop when you’re in downtown Tulum.

Looking for a shop to get regalos and was so happy to find Mixik! Prices seemed fair and selection was lovely!! Only regret that I didn't get more gifts.
Jennifer O — Google review
Found this place right by ADO station. Many shops on the main street in Tulum seemed not to have fixed price on products but this shop had prices clearly marked on each product, and pricing was reasonable. Everything they have there were so pretty! I was lucky to find this shop!
S N — Google review
Great place for unique gifts at a decent price. They also have textiles (blankets, pillowcases, napkin, etc). Our only issue was that the credit card machine didn’t work. I would have gladly spent more money of credit card was possible!
Jessica — Google review
A gorgeous boutique with beautiful art! The owner was so knowledgeable and took time to explain the history behind some of the art I purchased there.
V G — Google review
We were staying in Akumal and wandered to Tulum one rainy day when we happened across this treasure. Every shelf, nook and corner are filled with legit art and folk art from all over Mexico. The owner manned the counter and answered all of our questions and more. We bought things that we loved for ourselves and others. It's a place to indulge yourself and to buy special gifts for those you love. The main street in the playa is filled with souvenir shops, but if you want something special, go here. Be prepared to spend some time taking it in, because you'll need it just to take it all in.
Allen S — Google review
Absolutely the most beautiful store. Everything is hand crafted and well made but also affordable. Lots of things for the home (blankets, cloth napkins, drinking glasses, etc etc etc) plus some clothes, wooden artwork, crafted children's toys, and a few regular souvenirs. It's perfect.
Amy M — Google review
Great value for very well curated pieces! Would go back to Tulum just to shop here again!

Gift shop
Mexicarte Tulum is a must-visit for those seeking authentic Mexican handcrafted souvenirs. With three locations in Tulum, including one in Akumal, this store offers an array of unique items such as Huichol art, skulls, sculptures, pottery, and clothing. Visitors can find beautiful handmade bags and other artsy souvenirs to take home a piece of paradise. The vibrant colors and diverse range of products make it stand out.
Mexic Arte is NOT like all the other souvenir shops in Tulum Centro or the majority of souvenir shops in the Mayan Riviera. These items are “FAIR TRADE Made in MEXICO—COMERCIO JUSTO” Fairtrade Artist Handicrafts are important because they not only provide beautiful and unique items but also promote social, economic, and environmental justice for artisans and their communities. The items in this shop are hand-selected from all around Mexico. They utilize transparent pricing—all handicrafts are marked with a price tag—and their prices are often in line with, or in many cases lower than, other shops for higher quality. They have the BEST selection and the finest quality of Oaxaca Alebrijes in Tulum at fair prices. Nothing in this shop is imported from China or India, unlike the magnets, some coffee mugs, keychains, T-shirts, and other items you see all over the Mayan Rivera, including at the Chedraui grocery store chain. The staff is very nice and happy to assist. Many items say “do not touch,” but if you are a serious buyer ready to make some selections, the staff will allow you to examine the items and check the prices—though with the obvious caveat: “You break it, you buy it.” They accept AMEX, Visa debit and credit cards, and of course, cash. I bought several beautiful Alebrijes for our family’s growing collection (we buy one for each family member every time we visit Mexico, no matter what part of the country we’re in). I also found some handmade glass hearts, beaded hummingbirds, tiny turtle Alebrijes magnets, and a few other goodies for some close friends—I’m happy to gift these, as the items in this shop are of exceptional quality. The staff wrapped everything in tissue paper and bubble wrap and even included a cute postcard. If you appreciate quality Mexican folk art at fair prices and ethical practices, Mexic Arte is a MUST-STOP. They have two shops in Tulum, and I visited the Tulum Centro location.

This place grabbed my attention while walking because of all the colors and objects seen from the street. We were happy with the prices compared to other shops that sold less quality for a higher price. We were able to buy a few small items that made perfect gifts for family. They had beautiful options that people would actually want to buy or gift. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked questions. The girls packed everything up nicely and gave me postcards after purchasing. There were more items I would have bought if I could have found more use for them. We really liked the local artisan pieces. Highly recommend.
Kala A — Google review
This shop has everything you can imagine. Not your typical trashy tourist souvenir shop. Items are reasonably priced and the shopkeeper was very helpful. They have these most beautiful beaded earrings. Definitely worth a visit
Celeste D — Google review
Great shop with gorgeous items that are different than a lot of the neighboring standard souvenir/homegood shops
Maeve J — Google review
Gorgeous and unique gifts both small and large. Found luchador masks, wrestling figures, ornaments, and lighters with Mexican graffiti art. Muy bueno 🤩
Terry G — Google review
Great little shop with beautiful handicraft items. Everything said “Do not touch” which is understandable but made it hard to shop and choose items and see prices. I loved the shop though! Worth a stop.
David E — Google review
We really liked this store. The prices were fair and they accept credit card. The items were very nice and the staff was very kind. I would really recommend this over other souvenir shops.

I just bought one small charm but the lady at the store kindly wrapped it and gave me this card, sweet!

Selecto Chedraui Tulum is a popular mega-grocery store in Tulum that's a must-visit for families on vacation. It offers a great selection of plant-based products and an enormous bread section, although some visitors wished for more produce. The market is large and well-stocked with fruits, vegetables, pastries, fish, and meat at good prices. Additionally, it features various dining options and alcoholic beverages for sale.
Pay for parking if you are there for a while but other than that it's a nice store. With all the usual goods. Some things are a bit pricer than the other grocery stores I've visited. But way better than the other stores in the hotel area. I'd recommend this place.
Owen R — Google review
This place offers excellent produce and has a wide range of items, from electronics to fruits and vegetables. Make sure to arrive early, as they occasionally close before the listed time of 11 PM, despite what is stated online. I suppose it takes a while to clear out all the customers, which is why they tend to close early.
Michael — Google review
AtlasAdventured recommends shopping here. The Best store overall in Tulum. There are other stores where you can find better deals but this is the spot to get pretty much anything you could need. They also have a petco, restaurants and other useful stores either within Chedraui or in the surrounding stores. If you're American/Canadian this will feel very similar to the supermarkets/grocery stores you are familiar with. Make sure to check dates on things since bakery, deli, meat areas can sometimes be days old and on the verge of expiration. Good selection of produce too but some items you are used to may be more expensive than local goods. As I said, many of these items can be found cheaper elsewhere but in terms of options and variety, this store is your best bet. Also, try the food court if you have time. The tortas(sandwiches) are absolutely amazing but order them fresh and don't buy the pre-made ones. Just our opinion after trying both. We usually travel on a budget so different countries have different options to ensure the best tasting meals for the best value. Our recommendation for those wanting a homemade dinner in Tulum at the lowest cost would be this: Go to food court area and get a rotisserie chicken ($5-$8). Near the chickens there is usually beans or rice in to go containers so grab one or both of those (<$2. Then go to the back of bakery and find the fresh made tortillas in the ice chest, they are usually still warm and you get 20-30 homemade tortillas for under $1. If the ice chest is empty you can grab some tortillas by the rotisserie chickens too and they are still pretty fresh but be sure to check 'empaque' dates. Lastly, go to produce section to get some fresh guacamole and/or fresh salsa($1-$2 per container). Sometimes these can be along the back wall near meats but if they get sold out my afternoon usually so if those two spots are empty, head to the jarred salsa aisle and pick one out or make some guacamole on your own for an even better discount. If you head back over to the bakery area you can get some cheap freshly baked desserts but be sure to use tongs to put them on your tray and go to the back so they can weigh, bag and sticker your items. Wine and alcohol are in that are too. If you drive and park in the parking lot, be sure to bring your parking ticket in the store with you and get it validated at register upon check out for free parking. If you don't get it stamped when checking out, you will have to come back in to get it validated.

very nice clean supermarket w great produce selection a la WalMart Supercenters. only complaint is they charge paying customers $20 MX to park. i thought the cashiers validated the parkimg but they add an extra 20 pesos for the privilege of shopping there. Soriana is looking better all the time!

Best supermarket in Tulum. Great selection. Can be a bit pricey depending on what you are looking for.
Joseph P — Google review
This place far exceeded our expectations! Clean huge selection of almost everythng. Theres an amazing fresh bakery and soooo much more! Trust, this place is no walmart, its so much more.OK so you pay a little more but it totally worth it and you can have a great lunch or snack. We were inthe store for well over 2 hours and I had no idea. lol! By the way, I spent around $250 for groceries for the week and got a ton of food for he week. Back home I would have only a few bags. THis is my honest review andI was not paid for it.
Seantel T — Google review
Great supermarket — my favorite one here in Tulum! They had everything I needed in the store, including a bakery, tortillería, and even roasted chicken, which was delicious. Super convenient and well stocked. Highly recommend!
Erik J — Google review
During our two-week stay in Tulum, we visited Chedraui six times, and it became our go-to spot for various needs. The grocery prices are very reasonable, making it easy to stock up without breaking the bank. One of the standout features is their ATM. It's safe and offers the best exchange rates in Tulum, with a fee of 58 MXN. Since the fee is flat, it’s more economical to withdraw larger amounts rather than making multiple small transactions. The bakery section is a delightful bonus. The breads and pastries are fresh and delicious. Additionally, you can find alcohol at reasonable prices, which is great if you're planning a beach day or a quiet evening in. Chedraui also boasts a coffee shop and a small restaurant. They serve a variety of cuisines, including Mexican, Italian, and barbecue. The food is tasty and priced well, making it a convenient option for a quick meal. Overall, Chedraui made our stay in Tulum much more convenient and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Mi Bodega Aurrera in Coba - Tulum is a small and affordable grocery store offering a variety of fresh produce, household items, and everyday essentials. It's the perfect place for budget-friendly shopping. You can find mosquito repellent, purified water, and even black action figures here. It's often compared to a Mexican version of Big Lots with its selection of refrigerated food and other items.
Great store, cheap prices, nice employees, and easy to navigate. Also the self checkout means you don’t have to wait in a long queue
Shane E — Google review
I've had pretty good luck shopping here. The self checkout is a big plus! I think the prices are pretty competitive here. They don't have some of the fancy products you'll find at other bigger stores, but you'll have money left over for something else.
Edward M — Google review
Whoever said this store is cheap is very well off. Prices were equal to PNW in America! Wouldn’t go back again. Lines were long, one cashier.
Megan — Google review
I just went into this store today and all i can say is PHENOMENAL They have all the deals It reminds me of Big Lots back home but with meat Giving a shout out from Detroit Michigan Unites States
Christopher S — Google review
Love this little store and definitely have everything you need to furnish an apartment as well. Such a great place in Tulum.
Tara D — Google review
Inexpensive, takes US debit cards, long lines due to things being inexpensive. I biked there and locked it up and it was still there when I came back out to leave. Easy to get to from Aloft hotel.
Maria F — Google review
Absolutely the worst today. This is always has lineups and management refuses to open more to tills to get customer's through faster. Today one of the cashiers continually took people with a couple of items ahead of us and not even in line and cashed them out. I find this unacceptable and maybe management should look at a couple of express lines to eliminate the problem.

Mercado Tulum, also known as Mercado Maya Tulum, is a vibrant outdoor market that celebrates the rich gastronomic traditions and artistic heritage of the Mayan culture. Visitors can explore a variety of handcrafted artworks, textiles, and organic fruits and vegetables offered by local farmers. This budget-friendly market provides an authentic shopping and dining experience in Tulum. Additionally, nearby attractions like the Santo Mercado Tulum offer unique photo opportunities with its distinctive sculpture on the roof.
Great local place. The tiny stands will compete for your business in a lovely non intrusive way. We ate at a couple do far and loved it. Especially the mole and the ceviche were fantastic.
Andrea A — Google review
This is the place to go for authentic traditional Mexican dishes. I did not know what I would find here but I had a huge bowl of pozole for $6 USD. Tons of meat. Made from scratch. Just truly enjoyed the homemade meal. I would come here everyday and try every dish they make. Posting the sign for the stall opening really early in the morning serving breakfast. They are at the corner of the market with a sink to wash your hands.
Cara H — Google review
A good place to get fresh dishes. All food price are reasonable with a quite big portion. Burrito was great with a lot of fresh vegetables

I got soups at La Bendicion de Dios for late breakfast. They were so good and hearty, I had to go back on my day.
Joohee K — Google review
On our first day there we had lunch at “las veracruzanas” and was not disappointed. One of our waiters was a little 7 year old boy that was the cutest and sweetest little thing. Food was extremely authentic and cheap. There are no vendors pressuring you to buy things. Many street dogs in the are but none bothered either. Would def come back
Mireya R — Google review
Very small Mercado with a few vendors and very empty inside of any vibe or energy. Don’t come here expecting the big Mercado’s and endless aisles and vendors that Mexico is known for.

I love visiting Ciudad Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen. A friend of mine lives there, and every time I go, I’m struck by the peace and quiet. The community is surrounded by lush vegetation, which makes it feel like a perfect balance between nature and modern living. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can really tell that the residents are happy to be part of this place. It’s a beautiful, tranquil community that feels like a hidden gem.

Kaahal Home Tulum is a lifestyle concept store located downtown on the main road, offering a unique selection of handmade home decor, including ceramics, glasses, textiles, and furniture. In addition to home items, they also offer ethically made clothing such as dresses, bikinis, handbags and sandals. The shop focuses on organic and essential designs that blend ancient and modern styles. Visitors can find conscious souvenirs and boho outfits perfect for the beach while supporting Mexican artisans and environmental awareness.
This shop is very nice. The products are made by Mexican artisans and I believe there may have been a few from other countires as well. There was a focus on the environment and being more knowledgeable about human interference with nature. I think this is a great thing to be aware of. I bought a few gifts for family. I was promoted to buy based on the quality of the items and how they seemed more unique than other shops. Some of the prices are fare while others were very high. It all depends on what you're comfortable with. The staff was friendly and helpful to answer my questions.

Everything in this interior shop was good taste, I loved their style!! Overall the shop in Tulum is a bit expensive, but they have good price compare to other shops in Tulum.

Best shop in downtown Tulum! Perfectly curated with reasonable prices—and not touristy at all! The shop ladies were so, so friendly and helpful! One took ten minutes and helped us brainstorm dinner and where the best spots were. I grabbed the most adorable woven dog collar to take home. 10/10–shop here!!

Love this little home decor boutique. Bought a beautiful blue skull sculpted from a cedar wood. Absolutely obsessed with it. The customer service here is also great!
Dominika P — Google review
My wife had a very bad experience at this shop with the manager. She simply inquired about a potential discount for buying multiple of the same artisanal items, which is a very reasonable question. She was subjected to an incredibly rude response. The manager not only dismissed her question harshly but made personal comments about her shopping habits, which is both unprofessional and disrespectful. We told this to some of our friends, who told us they had a very bad experience in this shop the previous day. We will certainly not be returning but I will also make sure none of my friends shop here. It’s sad to see such a lack of basic customer service. Be wary of a business that treats inquiries with contempt rather than courtesy. EDIT to answer the manager below: My wife and I do not shop at Zara, we avoid fast fashion like the plague, but one thing we avoid even more are store managers who have preconceived assumptions about their customers and then proceed to be rude to them.
Mat — Google review
The items in the shop are lovely - in fact we went in to buy a product we really liked, but we had a pretty unpleasant experience with a member of staff. My husband had petted a small dog in the shop that was perched on a cushion by the till. He had let the dog sniff his hand first before gently stroking the dog's head briefly (we own a dog ourselves) and the dog was perfectly calm and happy with being stroked. A member of staff (presumably the manager) then loudly and quite rudely in front of the rest of the customers told my husband off for stroking the dog and not having asked permission first. She seemed to not to able to guarantee that the dog would not bite and that she "doesn't want problems." My husband immediately apologised but we felt so uncomfortable that we left the shop. There was no sign to note to not approach the dog and ultimately why have a dog in a public area that has the potential to bite? We love dogs and so my husband had gently approached the dog who was fine. Unfortunately for the shop they ultimately lost customers and a sale.
Jo F — Google review
Truly amazing selection of home and interior objects, a few great pieces of clothing as well! Contrary to most shops in town everything is made by hand by all kind of local artisans respecting traditions! What you get there will last you, this shop is top notch quality and incredible taste. GO THERE you wont regret it! The boutique owner and staff are so kind and friendly. Had an amazing experience shopping there. Can’t wait to put everything I got in my NY apartment and bring a little bit of Tulum vibes to the concrete jungle.

Gypsea Market is a charming cafe and supermarket in Tulum that offers an enchanting ambiance with swings and tropical plants. The attached supermarket provides high-quality health foods, European specialties, kombucha, soaps, home goods, and fluoride-free toothpaste. It's a perfect spot for organic food enthusiasts looking to stock up on fruits and veggies. While it may be slightly pricier than other options in town, the unbeatable quality and selection make it worth the visit.
We came here on our first full day in Tulum. We bought a full breakfast package ahead of time for three of us. Absolutely fantastic. I wish we ate slower cause I felt like we rushed the experience. Everything was so fresh and delicious. From coffee to the beans. (I know right?). Great service, we were never rushed (we just ate fast). Didn’t get a chance to see what else is on the menu, but we had coffee, orange juice, fruit platter, pastry, parfait, and eggs/beans/salad. Good stuff!
Alex M — Google review
Wow- The building design and retail displays are absolutely beautiful—especially the bulk bin area. They offer a lovely collection of regional artisanal chocolate bars and coffee beans, all with retail packaging that has a real "wow" factor. Perfect for gift-giving to your favorite coffee-loving soul or to enjoy in your morning cup or coffee based dessert. - I was particularly impressed with their natural, locally made cold process soap line. It comes in three sizes: a full bar, a mini bar, and a $20 peso micro mini bar. The micro mini is perfect if you want to sample their scents—mostly fruit-based. Some of the bars use fragrance oils rather than 100% essential oils, but the smaller sizes are ideal for trying out the line before committing to a full bar or if you just need a small bar because you forgot to pack soap for your trip. UP DATE: they also sell this brand at the big chain grocery store for less $$$ -Chedraui (just not the .05 oz sample bars - He should maybe source a new Tulum Cold Process soap vendor - who uses organic essential oils and base oils to better vibe with his natural foods concept... They also have a great selection of spices in minimal packaging at affordable prices—perfect if you just need a little bit of spice to enhance a dish at your accommodation. Many Airbnb rentals in Tulum don't provide basic cooking staples like salt, pepper, and oil, so this store makes it convenient to get what you need. Some of the fruits (Strawberries) and veggies (Onions) looked a bit tired, but it's the off-season, so they may not have as many customers to ensure a quick turnover. Perhaps if they were discounted/ reduced for quick sale, they would sell faster. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the GYPSEA Market, and if Tulum were my permanent home, this zero-waste shop would definitely be on my weekly or bi-weekly shopping list.
Stacey D — Google review
Good market for those who are needing dietary restriction groceries. That being said the markups are incredibly high. The cafe attached is horrible. The coffee was just milk and they gave us the wrong milk in one of the drinks (gave us almond when we asked for soy because of a nut allergy)… really disappointing service and food. Many other amazing options in the area I’d recommend going to instead.

If you embrace an organic and holistic lifestyle, this place is perfect for you. However, be prepared—prices here are comparable to those on Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive.

They take your temperature and give you hand sanitizer each time you enter. Great selection of food. The cafe is nice, love eating there. Nice little swings and cute lights. Good plastic free options to choose from and frozen vegan food!

I went here for dinner two nights ago. They didn't have their full menu available yet since they just opened, but their menu looked really good! Lots of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. And the drink menu looked really good too with healthy additions like activated charcoal! They have all of their pizzas available and gluten free with vegan options. Plus they're wood fired which made the crust crispy and extra tasty. I got the four cheese pizza with peppers. It was a pretty good size too. My husband got the chicken burger. Both were yummy!! I liked the ambiance of the place. Several of the tables had swings for chairs which is where we sat. There's something about swinging while eating that just makes me feel like a kid again:) The actual market part of Gypsea Market was nice too. It's all designed really well with nice aesthetics inside and out. They don't have the shelves filled yet, but there's some nice products like local produce, juices, vegan milks and cheeses, gluten free products, some natural body care, protein bars... Overall really cool place!

Loved loved loved this place! The price for the organic beauty products are really great! Plus so many options and a restaurant to eat at!!! The place is well organized and beautiful!!! Plus the price of the melipona honey is really good if you’re looking to get some miracle serum!!!

This place has the best selection in organic food and an amazing assortment of beauty natural beauty products. Their Kombucha collection is very well balanced, organic foods and self care productsakes this store a really worth place to visit. If you are in the hotel zone in Tulum it may be a bit far but believe me you will find what you need. Update 2024 this place officially has the best GLUTEN FREE pizza and BEST coffee I have found in all TULUM. Was lucky enough to run into the owner I assume and was kind enough to bring us freshly made and artisanal bread. This place is in my top 3 of places where you can find excellent food without paying exorbitant prices for sub par food. Thanks Gypseamarket.

Súper Akí Tulum is a large grocery store situated at the main intersection as you enter town. It offers a wide range of products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, clothing, souvenirs, toiletries, and even alcohol. The store also features a restaurant or bar inside. Visitors appreciate the convenience of finding everything they need in one place. Additionally, there is a Hertz car rental located in the same parking lot for added convenience.
Just off the highway with a manned car park to keep the traffic flowing. Well stocked. Lovely colourful presentation of fruits and veg on entrance. Lots of staff stocking the shelves and no lines at the checkout.

We were happy to find a supermarket with such a wide variety of local and international products. That said, the prices clearly cater to tourists rather than the local economy, so don’t expect to save much on groceries. Still, it's a convenient stop if you're looking for mid-long term stays.

This was the closest local market to our Airbnb/condo. Decent fresh fruit, friendly and helpful staff especially if you can speak some Spanish. We came on a Sunday and noticed that there was a liquor area It was sectioned off. We planned to purchase some local alcoholic beverages on the way out, but got there at 5:15 pm local time. We were surprised and disappointed to find out that on Sunday to stop Selling alcohol at 5 PM.

A good grocery store for food and necessities. Not as nice and well maintained as Chedraui but definitely has some better prices (some more expensive prices too). Staff was not that friendly but it was very busy and a little hectic when we went. Seems more like the 'locals' grocery store and less touristy focused, which is good. There is a small clothing and souvenir area near the produce area. Has everything you should need. Parking is a little crazy with how many people are rushing around the parking lot but just pay attention and you will be fine. The register and check out lines are narrow and lack space. Lines take a long time to move because of the checkout process and limited space to bag groceries. Produce, souvenirs, clothing and some snack items were slightly cheaper here compared to Chedraui but didn't have quite the selection or have the cleanliness in meat and bakery department as Chedraui.

Good general purpose market. Prices are fair.

Great supermarket. Some items were cheaper than it’s competitor, but space is smaller. Still has everything you could need here. ATM inside charges very low rate to use (probably the lowest one I found in Tulum). Staff were helpful despite language barrier.

Supermarket is very good. If you need anything go you trip good place to go. Also has liquor and wine.

I underestimated the size of this supermarket and ended up spending a good couple of hours there 🫣 they literally have everything you need which was super handy for staying in an apartment. I really liked their Pandaderia (bakery) and cafe section although it gets very busy and there are a lot of flies. The food however is delicious and great value for money. They also have ATM’s inside but they charge quite a bit of commission if you’re travelling and need cash.

Pura Vida Tulum is a popular boutique clothing store located in the heart of Tulum. It offers a wide range of chic and organic garments for both men and women, including dresses, jewelry, hats, and accessories. In addition to apparel, the store also features handcrafted items such as sandals, shoes, ceramics, and souvenirs. Customers have praised the warm and polite staff who provide personalized shopping assistance without being pushy.
The boutique has interesting merchandise including affordable ready to wear, with a good variety of color palette, custom jewellery, silver creations and other accessories. Miss Emma is very pleasant and helpful. She is attentive to clients needs and manages well even during busy times . We purchased a few units and were delighted with our experience. Miss Emma exceeded expectations when she reopened the store, after we left, at past closing time, since we wished to purchase additional items as it was our last day on vacation. She showed great understanding and allowed me to try on a few more items and I ended up buying two more units . Strongly recommend to visit Pura Vida

A cute shop full of clothes and accessories of a bohemian style. Their clothes are unique and of good quality. I got a pair of denim shorts, a kimono top and a kind of belt bag with embroidery on it. The staff was very friendly and shared their recommendations. You can pay with a credit card but they'll charge a 3.5% commission fee.

Awesome shop with unique items from Peru and Mexico. The staff make this place very special, as every time I visit my intention to buy something turns into a spiritual experience where I gain many insights and enjoy the engaging conversations from the people running the shop. What’s amazing is that there is a completely different employee every time, yet the experience is always the same. Even if you don’t need clothes or stuff, I recommend stopping by just for conversation.

With two locations nestled in Aldea Zama, this market caters to all your fresh fruit and vegetable needs while also offering a variety of essential goods like sunscreen, toiletries, beer, and wine.
I often come here around noon for lunch. The food is always fresh, healthy, and full of variety. The prices are great, and the staff is always very friendly.

I’ve been hesitant to try this place due to past reviews mentioning how expensive it is. However, in reality, it’s quite reasonably priced for the neighborhood. A can of Coca-Cola, a pack of M&Ms, and a large Kinder Bueno came to 88 pesos. If I had bought the same items at 7-Eleven or Oxxo, it would have been only 15% to 25% cheaper. They also offer a hot buffet if you’re looking for a warm meal, with prices that are fairly standard: half a chicken costs 100 pesos, and each side dish is 40 pesos. There are also two ATM machines here if you need cash.
David Z — Google review
Bought a 6 pack of the small cans of beer, but a 6 pack of the lager cans were the same price at the convenience store. Nice store though. A bit pricey but they have some good items there. More than you’d find at the convenience store.
Alexis — Google review
It's okay if you're one of the super wealthy or want to go broke, I guess. Definitely pricing out us typical folks. 75pesos for two individual bananas, which is probably why they don't have a price above them, but still... that's what I'd expect to pay at a convenience store in an airport. As for them selling premium products, they're still selling kellogs, granola bars, nescafe, typical oxxo or 7 eleven items. But they're gouging you for 160pesos for a box of cheap Kelloggs granola bars.
Timothy — Google review
Instead of greeting me or asking if I needed help, he just followed me around. I stopped in to use the ATM and decided to check out the items for sale. I didn’t want to travel to the supermarket. No prices on most things. After using ATM (didn’t work, I think it was out of money), I turned around to leave and he was just standing there staring at me lol. After reading the other reviews, glad I didn’t shop here.
Kashell W — Google review
We ordered 1 margarita and 1 prsciutto fungi, the margarita came as a simple mozzarella pizza, the prosciutto was a few regular ham slices instead. I was charged 400 pesos when the price was 150 and 230 each. A lot of people complaining for the delay, some were getting their orders before others that arrived earlier.

My friends and I came here on our first night in Tulum and it was amazing. Hands down the best guacamole we have ever had. Half of our group is vegan so the vegan paella was a huge plus. It was so good! The whole staff was so friendly and made it such a special experience. I’ve never left a Google review before but felt it was important to leave them one because they were so hospitable and friendly. You must go here!

On our first night in Tulum my wife and I came across Guacamole Club. The atmosphere was everything we didn’t know we needed this evening. Our 4 year old enjoyed the lounge seating they offered. The deep house music brought a relaxing vibe while the bon fire kept the bugs away. Now for the tapas and drinks…… we ordered the humus, montadito ibérico and patatas bravas and everything was delicious!!! They have a good selection of craft beers, but what we really enjoyed were the cocktails. Even though my wife is pregnant it did not stop her from wanting to try the passion fruit Margarita (virgin of course), I however enjoyed it with tequila 😊 both versions were delicious. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!!

A Tulum GEM! 💎 I was on the hunt for spices, homemade soup, a tongue scraper, grass fed beef and eco-friendly beauty products and they had all of it. It’s a small shop but very intentionally curated with a useful assortment. I tried the beet hummus within minutes of getting home and WOW so yummy. Very good customer service too - helpful but not pushy. Chill environment overall. I’ll be a loyal customer from here on out.

This store is an absolute gem and life saver if you’re health conscious. It’s pretty expensive but definitely worth it! Everything is labeled with the price so there’s no worries about getting ripped off. I couldn’t find any natural/ no added sugar peanut butter or almond butter at any other store. The kombucha is one of the top 3 best kombuchas I’ve ever had, the chili oil is hands down better than any Asian chili oil and the coconut yogurt 🫠 basically everything is amazing and worth every penny. They also have everything in glass jars and give you $5 pesos when you return them.
Natalie C — Google review
I came in specifically to buy raw milk. They sell it frozen. The next day i realized that the milk was spoiled… so i definitely do not recommend buying milk there. Overall, the store is nice, lots of probiotic items to choose from. The biggest variety of kombucha i have seen in my life. Also they have local frozen meat, dumplings and eggs. Other products i found to be overpriced. Not sure if i will come back.

Wow what a gem in Tulum! Full of local products x fridges full of all in house made kombuchas, salsas, dips vegan x non vegan options all made and sourced with love and your tastebuds in mind! The real heart of the project is the Commercial composting service Wòolis offers to businesses, and if you live in a household you can drop off your food waste to be composted with them at their farm in the Yucatán! Make sure you stop by Foodie Market to learn more about Tulum and how it will only continue to thrive if we reduce our footprint and increase our handprint!

My wife and I love handcrafted items from the different places we have stayed. It can be confusion to know what is authentic and what are mass produced or inexpensive knockoffs. This store on the Main Street of Tulum, has the real signed traditional pottery and fabrics. Anne decided on one of the woven cotton blankets made in Tulum. As well two smaller pieces of pottery from Puebla, with signature on the bottom. Maurice is the grandson of the family who started the business. He was extremely helpful and kind in dealing with us. He appreciated that in our conversation we respected the hours of work and skill that goes in making each piece. When he saw our personal abilities as a professional photographer and a quilt maker, he understood why we were that way. By the way Maurice speaks good English and knows about the different items being sold,in detail. He isn’t pushy and we felt comfortable just browsing around the two times we visited previously. He mentioned that they will also ship anywhere. A wonderful experience.

Quality souvenirs at great prices! We actually returned here to buy additional souvenirs after realizing how good their prices are compared to other gift shops in Tulum. We bought 2 handmade glasses for 360 pesos; another shop tried to charge more than quadruple that amount! Definitely check this place out for souvenirs. Bonus is that items have price tags and no need to bargain given the very reasonable prices.

I really enjoyed my conversation with owner of this establishment- tensions between locals and tourists in tulum have elevated and in other shops I often felt like I was getting ripped off. I let her know I was going to dinner for my birthday and she seemed excited to help me; which is something that always makes shopping for a special occasion so much more fun and allows for excitement. The shop has so many wonderful pieces. I would definitely come back during my next visit here in Tulum.

Super chic store: housewares hand made in Mexico, including clothes and jewelry. This is my favorite store in Tulum. It is beautifully curated. Bought a black blanket and a bunch of pottery. Will definitely come back.
Silene L — Google review
A chic shop with such a great aesthetic, everything is so beautiful. Lots of traditional Mexican artistry in tasteful colour-ways. The swimwear is also super comfortable in great colours.

I love Nakawe shop. Their material is really high quality that lasts for a long time, whether it’s the clothing or household items. Their design is very unique. They have beautiful handmade stuff for the house. I bought some clothing and a bag from them and I get so many compliments from people. Pamella who works there is super nice and speaks English fluently and helped to guide me with my needs. If you’re visiting Tulum and you want to take something special for yourself or as a gift, definitely stop. By Nakawe.

Amazing store. Got hand made wallet and bracelet. You will definitely find something for yourself here. Girls in store were super friendly.
Karina S — Google review
Absolutely lovely store. The textiles and home goods were by far the best we found in Tulum. The ladies working at the store were incredibly knowledgeable about the products. I really loved that they source their products from the makers themselves and each piece is truly unique and ethical. Shopping here was an amazing experience. Only wish there was a store by me!
Andrea M — Google review
This place is incredible! Absolutely love their collection of handmade artisan products. We bought home wares and apparels, and they have so much more. The service was excellent and very helpful. Truly, a pleasant shopping experience of supporting local artisans and buying something you really like.

Flea & Street Markets
Tulum Bazaar is a vibrant and bustling tourist market in Tulum Centro, just a few blocks away from Parque Nacional Tulum. The market offers a wide range of traditional Mexican crafts, souvenirs, clothing, and unique items not found elsewhere. Visitors can enjoy the fiesta atmosphere as cheerful vendors invite them to browse through their wares. The prices are generally negotiable, allowing for a relaxed shopping experience.
All kinds of touristy shops, murals, restaurants, etc. It's a great place to spend the day and is easy to get around via taxi, colectivo, on foot, or bike.

This is the downtown of Tulum and mainly one street. Many of the stores are very similar but there’s many to choose from. It’s all very touristy.

They see British tourists coming a mile away! Please stay clear!! I bought a bracelet from the jewellers near the tequila stall. It broke on my second day back in the UK, and I’ve got absolutely nowhere trying to contact them. Tried to go through my credit card company, which meant I had to get the bracelet valued at a cost to myself, turns out the bracelet as a fake. Avoid !!
Kellie G — Google review
Individual shops in downtown Tulum are much better than this particular shopping place. There are some nice things to be had here, but only cash is taken and I would be afraid to arrange shipping with these people. There are some very beautiful potteries is here. Most of the other things tend to be highly turistic and you can find better elsewhere.

The breakfast provided is delightful and the service is truly outstanding. Moreover, the cenote's water exhibits an astonishing hue, showcasing its remarkable transparency. This shopping mall promises a paradise within another paradise, where visitors can indulge in a relaxing ambiance while enjoying top-notch amenities and natural wonders.
This place is AMAZING it is perfect for food and drinks especially if you don’t want to pay a beach club entrance fee or pricey drinks. It’s right by all the action, Angel was our waiter and he was amazing. Made us feel so at home and gave us recommendations for the town. We both had a smash burger and they were both so good. We will be back. Also… THE MEZCALITAS ARE AMAZING!!!! Thank you Angel!!
Stevie O — Google review
I had a terrible experience with this hotel. They canceled my reservation at the very last minute—just one evening before check-in—leaving me without a place to stay. I tried to contact them for help in finding an alternative accommodation, but they were completely unresponsive and unhelpful. This level of service is absolutely unacceptable, especially for travelers who rely on confirmed bookings. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who values reliability and professionalism. Avoid this place at all costs!

(Translated by Google) It is an excellent option to enjoy the nature of Tulum, and disconnect from the city... The staff service is excellent, super attentive with needs and breakfast, they have a super beautiful mangrove, with transparent water and little fish.. The rooms have the necessary measures so that mosquitoes do not eat you alive 🤭 and it has air conditioning, you have to keep in mind that the idea is to be open to the experience of living with nature so there is a lot of vegetation, water to personal hygiene In the entire part of Tulum, both in beach clubs, restaurants and hotels, it is salty, so you have to take it into account. Oh and definitely not a place to take children. (Original) Es una excelente opción para disfrutar de la naturaleza de Tulum, y desconectarte de la ciudad...
