Restaurant
Batey Mojito and Guarapo Bar is a vibrant venue in Tulum that offers a lively atmosphere, local bites, and an array of cocktails. The bar features a beer garden where patrons can savor their famous mojitos made with freshly pressed sugarcane juice or enjoy other unique flavors like cucumber basil and passionfruit. In addition to its refreshing drinks, Batey also serves up delicious shrimp burritos that are a hit among visitors.
They have great live music and vegan tacos. We got here at 915 and snagged one of the last table (which was with a few others already there.) The music was top notch spanish guitar and dancers who started around 930. The volume was a good level too where you could hear them well throughout the restraunt but it wasn't too loud. This was a Wednesday so it might fill up faster on the weekends. The vegan tacos were a soy mix with pineapple that added a nice little bit of acidity to the savory tacos. The sauce and onion mixed well as well. Overall a great place for a date or just a bite with great entertainment.

Batey was the place where we hung out almost every evening during our Tulum vacation. They have a good selection of local food and beverages that mostly come with their signature sugar cane wedge. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart for those who are looking for a place to cool down and chill out during the day and want to get a sense of the local nightlife during evening. We wanted to avoid loud techno parties but still wanted to have some fun and Batey was exactly that sweetspot. Every evening there is live music, both local vibes and international covers. One evening there was a flamenco band boh playing and dancing! A few times there were some guys jamming some local rhythms during the day. The service was awesome 👌 everyone always smiling and ready to crack a joke. During the earlier hours there were some people working with laptops too, so I presume that it's a good place for it. I can't recommend this place enough!!!
Norbert S — Google review
If they hadn’t tried to scam us I would give this place five stars. It is a really fun great atmosphere with live music and the food and drinks were delicious and very reasonably priced. The problem was that when the bill came they had added up the total to almost double what we had. And when we addressed it, they clearly knew they had done it and didn’t even apologise. This happened to us in a few places in tulum where totals weren’t added up correctly, but this time was ridiculous - trying to charge us 1540 for an 890 bill!!!
Rachel — Google review
Excellente tacos and the Guarapo's were amazingly delicious all the way down to the sugar cane. Very reasonable prices and quality service.
Sal M — Google review
Everything was great about this place! I’m from out of town & they were showing NBA/sports game which is what attracted me. Highly recommend!!
Jiselle C — Google review
Very nice place, but a bit pricey, MX$150 per Mojito.
Clemens H — Google review
Mojitos are excellent, I love the cane sugar stick to chomp on!! The music is each to their own and depends on the night but a great place and great servers
Nathalie D — Google review
We came to Batey 3 times during our week long stay and as a couple/group of foodies from NYC, that says a lot about the quality ! Very fresh, very authentic and very affordable (just was a nice change of pace in comparison to the restaurants/bars/clubs that are closer to the beach strip!) I’m honestly not a big fan of mojitos but I was convinced to try one and ended up having 3! That fresh sugar cane added such a nice touch to the flavor profile! The shrimp tacos were literally amazing, I swear I could’ve ate them everyday and been satisfied! The live entertainment was cool and added an interest level to keep our table engaged and ultimately there longer. On our last day as we were headed to the airport, we stopped in for a quick lunch where I got a Michelada and MAN! Top notch, definitely was a great way to end our vacation. 10/10 highly recommend!

Live music bar
Santino Bar is a popular downtown spot in Tulum known for its lively atmosphere, strong drinks, and upbeat music, particularly reggaeton. It offers good happy hour deals and really gets going around midnight. Located on the main street, it's a casual and affordable place where locals go to dance, eat, and drink with friends. The bar has three floors for dancing and is perfect for late-night fun when other places are closed.
This place was great! It has 3 floors and different music and a DJ on each floor. They have bottle service and the drinks are reasonably priced. The atmosphere was fantastic!!!
Candice D — Google review
Avoid Santino Night Club at all costs. I came here with my boyfriend looking for a fun night out in Tulum, and it turned into one of the worst club experiences I’ve ever had. At first, the place seemed fine (even though it was empty when we arrived), but the staff’s attitude quickly ruined the vibe. They were rude to everyone—especially locals—and snapped at us for the smallest things. The breaking point? As I was dancing, the security guard straight-up hit me in the throat. He tried to play it off like it was “accidental,” mumbled a half-apology, and then went back to chatting like nothing happened. No accountability. When my boyfriend calmly asked for a proper apology, the promoter jumped in, got aggressive, and acted like we were the problem. Instead of addressing their own staff’s behavior, they singled us out, threatened us, and kicked us out. This place treats guests like trash, barking orders and pushing people around instead of respecting them as paying customers. The vibe is dead, the music is forgettable, and the staff clearly pick favorites while making everyone else feel unwelcome and disrespected. If you’re in Tulum, skip Santino. There are way better clubs where you’ll actually be treated like a human being.
Cora E — Google review
I visited this place last night, and outside there were several guys making you think they're offering free shots of tequila on the upstairs floor. However, once you go inside and head up to the terrace, they inform you that the price per person is 100 pesos. Some may pay, expecting a nice spot, only to find it's a very small space. Well, that's how it goes sometimes—you pay to discover a rip-off. But what's truly unpleasant is being treated poorly, which is exactly what happened at the bar. The lady handling the payments was very rude and ill-mannered because I took a moment to order my drink.
Raul F — Google review
Stay Away from Santino – Americans Not Welcome! This place is a JOKE. The security guard straight-up hit my girlfriend in the throat for no reason, and then accused me of “acting crazy” when all I was doing was dancing — in a club that’s supposed to be for dancing! The staff here clearly hate Americans, and it shows. Instead of protecting people, they go out of their way to harass and assault you. If you’re American, DO NOT waste your time or money here. There are plenty of better spots in Tulum where you’ll be treated with respect. Santino is dangerous, aggressive, and a total disgrace to Tulum nightlife.

Amazing music and very friendly people. They even gave me one of the clay cups they make drinks out of as a souvenir.

Super nice place with delicious food, nice drinks and super friendly staff. I totally recommend it! 👌🏼

Came here one night for cocktails with friends and it had a nice ambiance. :) The cocktails were delicious! Would love to visit again when there are more people and a DJ playing! I think we were too early to experience the full effect. ;)
Hana B — Google review
This place is super cool! We went on a Wednesday around 8 and it was ladies night (ladies drink for free) and they had live music. Unfortunately they weren't serving their full dinner menu (just wings) so we just stayed for a drink and headed elsewhere for food. The people were very nice and it was the coolest rooftop bar!
Katherine D — Google review
Cocktails prices are the standard (200 each), they were small but good! We were literally the only ones on the 3 floors so the ambiance was so-so. The sunset view was great, but the 4th floor where you can have a drink and see it was closed. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars if the 4th floor was opened and had some ambiance.

Chill and beautiful spot. Immaculate vibes and wonderful cocktails.

Expensive cocktails .. awful food Food here is ….🤣 I think they don’t know how to cook proper food
Sungjin K — Google review
I never went there but I stayed in the hotel next door and couldn’t sleep till 3 in the morning because of the awful techno music they played so loud that I felt like I was in the middle of a techno festival. Zero respect to the neighbours, zero respect to any sort of curfew, especially that they do not have walls to limit the noise. Shame on you!!!

Seafood restaurant
Bar & grill
La Barracuda in Tulum is a casual and welcoming seafood restaurant located at the south end of downtown. It's known for its generous portions of dishes like seafood platters, shrimp nachos, fried fish, and shrimp soup. The mixed ceviche is particularly fresh and flavorful, accompanied by a variety of hot sauces. The ceviche mixto is highly recommended for its abundance of shrimp and pulp, complemented by a selection of delicious sauces.
You come here for the mexican food. Lots of sea food options. I loved the tostada the atun which was one of the best I had. Also one of the few places serving grilled fish fillet tacos (not battered and fried). Service is fast considering the average in tulum. The vibe is nothing special though

Excellent ceviche. Very affordable, directly on the main highway en El Centro. Great service, sports on TV, clean atmosphere. Totally recommend! Willing to accommodate food allergies. Impressive saksa selection.
Angie S — Google review
Let me just say we have been to all of the fancy and popular restaurants in Tulum and this is by far the best and at a fraction of the cost. I had fried fish and shrimp my hubby had grilled fish tacos and coconut shrimp, and he agreed with me that this was the best meal that we had, it was delicious and fresh. So don't waste you time in the hotel zone restaurants. If you want to see the shows at the other restaurants just go and have a seat at the bar after you have dinner at La Barracuda.
Kisha R — Google review
Great place for a simple midprice meal in Tulum. The shrimp nachos were OUTSTANDING! we got 3 pasta dishes and they were all really good, reasonably priced too. The Alfredo was particularly good, though a bit too salty for me. The portions are so generous. After the shrimp nachos, I was full already

The food served at this restaurant in Tulum, Mexico is delightful. In 5 days I've eaten here 3 different times and my hotel was 1.5hrs away. This place is not to be missed, definitely need to treat yourself with this place, you won't be disappointed.
Ebony B — Google review
Fantastic spot to be catered to on the beach. Staff was excellent and the food was FANTASTIC. We were stuck on Mango margaritas 🍹 and downed about 10 as a couple. Family friendly. There was $ miminum if you chose the beach side service. It included a cushioned setup with umbrella. I have included a pic of my family with the restaurant behind them. Very decorative and tranquil. The actual restaurant is a beautiful walk thru to the beach but you can certainly opt to stay in the restaurant without the minimum $ requirement. I believe it was a $58 U.S. for the beach. Not disappointed at all. There are a few vendors that walk the beach offering their goods but were respectful when you said "no thank you" or waived them off. Nice merchandise though. Necklaces, cover ups, coconut man, etc... If you have been to Cancun, you understand 😁. Great Spot.

Located in the heart of Tulum, Encanto Cantina is a top restaurant offering traditional and local flavors. Their menu caters to seafood and meat lovers as well as vegetarians, with organic and locally sourced ingredients. The bar serves cocktails made from fresh fruits like lemon, mango, and soursop, along with wines from within Mexico. Open only at night, this restaurant-bar features live music on Fridays after 10 pm, often playing classical rock.
Found this little outdoor gem and am so thrilled! The margaritas are delicious-strong/not too sweet! Plenty of gluten and dairy free options. The staff are kind and attentive. The outdoor garden is magical and the outdoor indoor bar looks really quaint and inviting! I would definitely come back!
Claire B — Google review
This was the first restaurant we tried in tulum. We went on a Saturday night and the margaritas were 2 for 1. Our server was Nicolas and he was very welcoming and helpful. My husband had the short rib tacos, which were a bit boring but still good. I however, enjoyed the octopus tacos, it was bursting with flavor and so delicious. We also enjoyed guacamole, the chips were wonderful and guac was fresh, I also really liked the serving dish they came on.
Kaitlin P — Google review
We unfortunately didn’t have a great dining experience here. Our shrimp tacos you can see from the pictures, speaks for itself. Our children’s meal was also not fantastic. We expected abit better considering the price tag. It is a beautiful spot to dine in.
Leena S — Google review
My favorite restaurant in Tulum because of the ambiance. Servers do assume you're not a big ticket if you're solo. So they tend to bigger tables with more enthusiasm. My steak was undercooked this time, but that's never happened before. Overall, it's always a treat.

Reservations is needed very popular dining place. Parking is a nightmare but you can find some few blocks away. Setting is gorgeous! Built, giving you a tree house vibe. Outdoor ambiance is stunning and romantic. Service is great. Constantly being checked on during dinner. They cater for nut allergies and are kid friendly. We had the octopus with coconut rice and side of their special habanero sauce. Coconut rice was more sticky rice. We also ordered fried rice and fish ceviche. Fish ceviche was very tangy for my liking. It was not tasty due to so much lime. Fried rice however hit the spot. Came with chipotle sauce which paired well. Good vibe here and perfect for large crowds.

Bonita Tulum's Burger Bar is a laid-back gem that invites you to savor an array of mouthwatering burgers, nachos, and fries in a charming outdoor terrace setting. This burger haven stands out amidst Tulum’s taco-centric offerings, featuring everything from classic beef patties to innovative fish, chicken, and even falafel options. The unique presentation on slate rock adds a delightful twist to your meal.
✅ Positives: Tasty burgers with great menu options. Fries were on point with different flavors to choose from. The mojito was excellent and super refreshing. They serve not just ketchup, mustard, and mayo, but also a must-try cheese pâté. Great ambiance and service — and the best part: the cat, Nina, plus a cute dog. Prices were fair for the quality. 🤷 OK: We walked from our hotel, so it was very convenient, but parking might be tricky with limited options. Overall: Delicious burgers, friendly service, and adorable pets — worth a stop if you’re in central Tulum.

Good food and reasonable prices. You get what you expect with no great surprises. Focus on burgers obviously. Vegetarian burger was alright and the normal beef-burger was good. We had the big platter which was recommended due to the pricing from the waitress (Great job). For those looking for a solid burger spot, this is your go to.

I really enjoyed the burger I ordered — I went with a classic and some plain French fries, and both were delicious. I also tried the buffalo sauce; I usually love buffalo, but this one just wasn’t for me. The staff was super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better.

This spot was great!! The food, the service, the space, everything was so definitely worth the drive!! I loved ittt!!
Keirra D — Google review
First you should know that the $15USD burgers do not come with fries. A small side of fries will run you about $3-5USD. It was very hot. I understand hot in the region, but this restaurant has no natural airflow due to surrounding buildings. Most places usually install fans, this place did not have any. It was uncomfortably hot. The service was ok, nothing extra for the $15 burger. Burger had no toppings, no lettuce, tomato, etc. While the burger did taste excellent, it was very small for the price. Overall it cost us $60USD for 2 small burgers and one side of fries and two drinks. For the excessive cost and small food portions, I can't reccomend this place and won't come back.

It was maybe 45 mins before they closed that we came in but they were still serving food and Seated us. The waitress kind of looked at us as if to hurry and order so we ordered right away. To our shock within literally a few minutes the waitress was bringing the burgers out. It made me think the burgers were already made and just warmed up. When we tasted the burgers they were just okay and fries weren't hot. I did like the atmosphere though.

Palma Central is such a vibe! 💃 Went on a Tuesday… 100 MXN entry included a beer + free salsa class, such a steal. The food truck setup is awesome, tons of variety (and lots of vegan options 🌱 🙌) with good prices. Drinks, live music, seating, all super clean and chill. Not pushy at all, just good energy. Went on a Tuesday for Salsa night, it did not disappoint! We had a little class of both salsa and bachata to get everyone in the vibe. We ate at the food trucks and it was all tasty. The evening was amazing as a live band and fire jugglers made the night memorable. Our best night in Tulum.

Fun place to visit with a variety of options. There are roughly a dozen different food vendors from different parts of the globe. Live entertainment. Bar with awesome mocktails for my fellow non-alcoholic friends. They also have a large play area for kids

El Agavero | Cocina Ancestral & Mezcaleria is a mesmerizing window into the world of traditional Mezcal, offering an array of high-quality agave spirits like Tequila, Raicilla, Tutsi, Bacanora, Tuxca, and Comiteco. Additionally, they feature Pox, Sotol, Rum, Whisky and other 100% Mexican spirits. The restaurant boasts stunning design and an amazing atmosphere.
Absolutely Incredible Experience! This is hands down one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, vibrant, and welcoming — you could feel the culture in every detail. The service was top-notch *Andy was our waiter — friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. Speaking of food, everything we tried was phenomenal. We ordered tlayudas, shrimp tacos, mole steak, and soup, and each dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The salsas were out of this world — fresh, bold, and with just the right kick. The drinks were just as impressive, perfectly balanced and refreshing. And don’t even get me started on dessert — the mango ice cream was smooth and refreshing, and the zapote flan was rich, creamy, and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. This place is a gem. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in a beautiful setting with amazing service, this is it. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! The staff was absolutely amazing! Jorge and Rey made our experience even better. Jorge provided some great menu recommendations! While there are some traditional menu items, they also have some unique items. Everything we ate and drank was absolutely delicious! I would come back and highly recommend to others!

My favorite spot of all the places I tried in Tulum! The food is truly delicious, and the drinks are equally amazing. I highly recommend ordering the platter with a variety of options to try—keep in mind that the portions are generous, so sharing dishes is a great idea. The service was attentive throughout our visit, making the experience even better and more enjoyable.

I came here around 3 on a Sunday. only one other couple with really fun atmosphere, a little fun and edgy but not a 20 somethings resort. I had the shrimp tacos which were so savory and an off menu drink that was really good but more expensive than I expected. the place was very clean and the servers were lovely, some had great English but all were very attentive. I will definitely be back.

WOW...Such an amazing place. Food is chef's kiss. We had the Black Mole Enchilada, Shrimp Tacos and drinks. Everything was so on point. Andy our server was amazing, even got me to try a cricket. We can't wait to return!
Melva G — Google review
This place was absolutely amazing! I had the best tacos ever—bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even better. We were also lucky enough to witness a Mayan ritual, which added a unique and unforgettable touch to our visit. The design is beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant. Totally recommend checking it out—you won’t be disappointed! 🌸

Unfortunate case of food poisoning from their octopus, the service is great and vibe and venue amazing but our stay in Tulum was completely ruined after we got severely sick with food poisoning from their octopus dish they served. It tasted funny but we thought it might be just how they make it here. The same night we were down with severe food poisoning symptoms. I would be very careful ordering any meat in this restaurant. This was our most expensive dinner in Mexico.

Amazing place for brunch, lunch, and dinner! The food is great, and the service has been excellent as well. I love the authenticity in every detail. Thank you for preserving Mexican culture and employing Mexican people!

I spent a beautiful night with Angie ❤️ I love her. We went to a karaoke bar and definitely I had a beautiful group, we went to 4 bars, in the first you drink for free, play some games and broke the ice. In the second bar you have a karaoke, and the others 2 pubs, are to dance and drink more 😂. Thanks for an amazing night Angie

Vaivén in Tulum town is a charming neighborhood coffee shop that has quickly become a favorite for both locals and visitors alike. With its inviting atmosphere, this spot offers an array of delicious food and cocktails, making it the perfect place to unwind. The croissants here are surprisingly delightful—some say they rival even those from French-owned establishments nearby! While prices may be on the higher side compared to typical Mexican eateries, the quality of food justifies it.
Absolutely loved this place! The staff was delightful and genuinely attentive, making us feel warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The ambiance is just perfect – relaxed, stylish, and full of charm. What really sets this spot apart is the menu: creative, intriguing, and full of pleasant surprises. Every dish we tried was outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A true gem in Tulum for anyone who appreciates a unique and delicious breakfast experience!

Fascinating flavor combinations! The cacao was incredibly delicious, and a real highlight was the avocado toast with lentils — absolutely amazing. Everything was beautifully presented, with great attention to detail. The lush plants and cozy atmosphere made it the perfect place to linger and enjoy.

Super friendly service, great atmosphere, delicious food. We tried the cold brew, açaí bowl, french toast and huevos rancheros. All superb. Really nice, chill place to sit outside under the shade of trees and enjoy a coffee.

Overall rating: 4.9 OMG. Need in my life forever. I will admit I didn’t like Tulum & will likely never go again. However, I would go back for this. My friend and I went twice because it was that good. We had all of the breakfast options: - burrito 6/5 - Smoothie cacao 10/5: sooo amazing. If you are the owner reading this, I need the recipe in my life 😭🥹 I bought all of the ingredients here in the states trying to duplicate it but something is missing. Please help! Highly recommend!

This is one of my absolute favorite places in Tulum, not only are the vibes incredible but the people who make the space or even better, the people here are amazing and always make my day. This is truly my home away from home, good coffee, good vibes and the greatest environments. If you’re looking for somewhere that offers all day vibes, whether you are meeting friends for brunch, wanting an aesthetic environment to work from or grabbing pizza and having drink drinks in the evening, this is the place to be. I can always count on coming here anytime of day and enjoying my coffee and always leave feeling so happy because of everybody who exists here. Big love to my Vai Ven team!🤎🤎🤎

The fench toast was some of the best French toast I've ever had. We liked it so much that we came back two days in a row. The juices and coffee are also really good. Staff is friendly and it has a nice outside seating area.

So yummy! Their smoothies are delicious, food is excellent and ambience is chill & inviting. Was so happy to have our last breakfast in Tulum at Vaiven. One thing we didn’t love was the “suggested tip” highlighted on our bill which was a higher % than the usual tip in MX.

If you find yourself wandering through Tulum, make sure to stop by Vereda del Abasto for a delightful culinary experience. This charming spot is known for its warm and inviting atmosphere, making it feel like a cozy home away from home. The menu features an array of authentic Argentinian treats, including mouthwatering pastries and sandwiches that are simply irresistible. Guests rave about the dulce de leche croissant and the delectable mortadella sandwich, which have earned high praise for their flavor.
An amazing coffee, pastry and sandwich shop. A must go to. Everything is super fresh and so delicious. Staff is pleasant and welcoming. Definitely recommend!! Best pistachio croissant and sandwiches !
Lisa K — Google review
Loved the food (the pastries, especially the pan con chocolate), loved the Argentinian vibe and the owners. Definitely worth going there for a snack or a drink. Really nice that it has long opening hours, while most cafes in Tulum close at around 3 PM. The interior design is also really nice.

Coming from New York, we are spoiled with amazing bakeries - yet, everything we had at Vereda’s were incredibly delicious! Definitely one of the best sandwiches we ever had! Pistachio croissant was also heavenly - crispy and flaky croissant with delightfully creamy pistachio filling…, I already dream of it! The cafe is small, but so warm, welcoming, and feel at home. The little outside seating was so relaxing to chill. The staffs were all so nice and friendly. I know there are many amazing cafes in Tulum, but they are the number one we would come back for next time in Tulum!
Maika T — Google review
Loved getting a latte here every morning while visiting Tulum, their iced latte was the perfect way to start my day! Excellent service, great atmosphere, and the baked goods were to die for! Highly recommend! ☀️

We stayed in La Veleta for 4 nights and ended up visiting this place 3 times!! Staff were friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. The chimichurri chicken sandwich is the easily the best sandwich we’ve ever had!!😁
Caitlin B — Google review
Stopped in for a coffee and a pastry and both were delicious. Very cute and welcoming atmosphere. They have some outdoor seating which would be nice for people watching, but we chose to sit under the AC inside. Cool art and ambiance!
Jen F — Google review
Vereda is unquestionably my favorite coffee shop in Tulum. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and offered us excellent recommendations beyond the coffee shop during our stay in Tulum. We were staying closer to a different coffee shop but preferred to walk further to Vereda. Also, the sandwiches are exceptional and use high quality ingredients and are assembled with care. We had 3 different sandwiches over the span of 3 days and each one seemed to be better than the last - a true testament to the quality of this cafe. The espresso is also fantastic and pairs well with any of their pastries (shoutout to Vigilante with jam). Thank you to Juan and the staff for making great coffee and giving us great memories - we will be definitely back next time we come to Tulum!
Samuel J — Google review
I had such a wonderful experience at Cafe Kaawa in Tulum! Julie, the operator, has created an incredibly welcoming and friendly space that feels like a home away from home. The highlight of my visit was getting to try some authentic Argentinian samplers—farturas and criollitos—along with their delicious coffee and yerba mate. Julie took the time to share her knowledge about mate culture, and I even left with a beautiful little mate mug and a selection of different yerba mates to enjoy. This cafe is not just a place for great food and drinks; it’s also a spot filled with warmth and charm. Whether you’re a yerba mate enthusiast or just looking for a cozy, inviting place to relax, Cafe Kaawa is a must-visit. Highly recommend stopping by when you’re in Tulum!
