Nature & Parks
Botanical garden
Established in 1936, the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens is a sprawling European-style garden spanning 40 hectares. It showcases an array of plants from around the globe, including allees, roses, herbs, and vegetables. The site also houses one of Canada's largest conservatories where visitors can observe butterflies up close and partake in educational programs focused on horticulture. Additionally, the gardens offer indoor and outdoor spaces for students to learn about plant life and for families to enjoy nature.
The butterfly experience was everything we expected: surrounded by multiple butterflies, we spent an hour being just amazed at the close contact we had with nature’s most precious creatures. The gardens are also very impressive and super well-maintained. It’s a nice place for kids AND for adults!
Isabelle R — Google review
Very picturesque with lots of garden spaces to explore including an arboretum and rose garden. There's even a pond area with lots of frogs and a few painted turtles. Not a long walk but well worth a visit. It is free and located right beside the butterfly conservatory.
K. J — Google review
Visiting the Niagara Falls Botanical Gardens was such a lovely experience. The grounds are expansive and beautifully maintained, surrounded by vibrant flowers, majestic trees, and lush greenery at every turn. Within the same area is the Butterfly Conservatory — though it was closed during my visit, it’s definitely on my list for next time. Even without it, the gardens themselves were breathtaking — the perfect spot to stroll, reflect, and capture timeless photos. A truly beautiful place for peaceful walks, weddings, or special occasions.

🌿 Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens – A Peaceful Oasis Near the Falls The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens is a hidden gem just a short drive from the main Niagara Falls attractions. This beautifully maintained 99-acre garden is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and scenic escape from the busy tourist areas. The gardens are stunning in every season, but especially vibrant in late spring and summer. The rose garden, featuring over 2,400 roses, is a must-see and smells incredible when in full bloom. The butterfly conservatory, located on-site, is a magical experience where you can walk among hundreds of free-flying butterflies in a lush tropical setting. The entire park is free to enter (excluding the Butterfly Conservatory), with wide walking paths and plenty of shady spots for relaxing. It’s also home to the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture, so you’ll see some impressive displays and rare plant varieties. Whether you’re a nature lover, photographer, or just want a quiet place to stroll, the Botanical Gardens are a beautiful and refreshing part of any Niagara Falls visit. ⭐️ Highlights: • Free admission to the gardens • Stunning rose and herb gardens • Peaceful, well-maintained grounds • Butterfly Conservatory (extra fee but worth it) • Ideal for a relaxing walk or picnic
KAJAN K — Google review
The Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls is a serene and enchanting escape into a tropical paradise. Home to over 2,000 free-flying butterflies, the lush greenhouse features winding paths, waterfalls, and vibrant plant life that create a magical atmosphere. It’s as peaceful, educational, and perfect for families or nature lovers. Whether you’re snapping photos or simply soaking in the beauty, it’s a must-visit gem along the Niagara Parkway. Great place to take the young ones for fun any invoking curiosity.

A great experience. Campus is large and spaced out. Very relaxing day and visit. Wide variety of plants too. Parking is 8 dollars but if you get it there you can use it up at horseshoe falls and not pay more. Lady at the parking booth was so friendly Butterfly garden costs 20 bucks did not do this visit.
Scott M — Google review
The grounds was very upkept. The flowers were beautiful. We walked through the whole garden was very lovely. It was nice weather out. Couldn't ask for a better day.
Monique S — Google review
Lovely gardens within easy walking distance of the falls. Definitely under looked as a destination as it was not crowded even on a very crowded at the falls Sunday. But I guess one has too love flowers because this place had them!!

Nature & Parks
Queen's Royal Park in Niagara-on-the-Lake is a picturesque waterfront green space featuring a small beach, a charming gazebo, picnic tables, benches, and restrooms. It's an ideal destination for a leisurely stroll with stunning views of the Niagara River and Fort Niagara. The park is within walking distance from Queen Street in the old town, allowing visitors to enjoy the colonial-style houses along the way.
After lunch we walked through town and checked out a few shops before finding our way to Queen's Royal Park. It's a beautiful walk way along the river. Very scenic and peaceful. It was nice to just relax and watch some boats go by, and watch people fall off their paddle boards. There was no cost to enter the park.
Jason S — Google review
Situated in the town of Niagara-on-the-lake, this park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the town. A stretch of lawn with benches for a small picnic or a small beach area to relax and have fun. A small pathway that is nice with a great view of lake Ontario. Just across the street is parking and it is conveniently located near the downtown area. A perfect tourist attraction, period.
Pritesh G — Google review
The Queen's Royal Park is a beautiful park in the Niagara-on-the-Lake region where people can walk, sit and relax. The view of the lake is wonderful. People can have picnics with family and friends and enjoy during summers. There are designated parking lots close to the park where one can easily pay for parking their vehicles. Downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake is just walking distance from the park and has some great shops, cafes and restaurants.
Sid K — Google review
Explored this lovely park when visiting the niagara falls. You can see the downtown Toronto from there, especially when the sky is clear. The lake looks really blue, and its so peaceful to walk around. Definitely worth a visit during your trip! :)

We love visiting the picturesque Queens Royal Park whenever we are in Niagara-on-the Lake region. The Gazebo acts as a beautiful and romantic backdrop for pictures! The place is ideal for a picnic or a romantic stroll. We love going there for an amazing sunset view over Lake Ontario.
Sonela M — Google review
Very scenic park along the Lake Ontario. Park is maintained well and maybe crowded during weekends. Mandatory paid parking. Washrooms are available and it’s very clean and well maintained. Toronto skyline maybe visible if the sky is clear . Some buildings like old Niagara fort at USA side is clearly visible. This place is something unique.
Karthick S — Google review
Amazing place to enjoy during summer! It has free parking area. The whole niagra city on the lake is amazing and pretttyyy🩵 It was fun visiting this place with friends and family. People were doing kayaking and riding the boats 🛥️! Also there is walk way area which makes it more beautiful! Place gets bit crowded on weekends. Also, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby to the other streets. The garden hill area is best to rest and enjoy the view of sea and also the other side u can see USA
FALGUNI — Google review
This was my first time going to Canada. I saw online, when I was planning my trip to Niagara Falls, that Niagara on the Lake was a must see. I have to agree now that I've been. It's a very beautiful place the flowers are so pretty and well kept. We walked around town and to the lake. The lake is very nice as well. Benches in the shade to sit and admire the scenery. I'm very glad we didn't miss visiting here.

Nestled at the vibrant intersection of King and Queen Streets, Simcoe Park is a delightful oasis in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. This charming park captures the essence of this historic Loyalist town with its gently rolling terrain and open spaces that invite relaxation. Families flock here to enjoy picnics, thanks to a spacious playground and a refreshing wading pool perfect for little ones on warm days.
It’s easy to see why this park is so popular with lots of 5 star reviews. What beautiful landscape with lots of shade. There is clean washrooms and there is an amazing little fountain with a place for you children to cool off and splash around! It’s knee deep on my 4 year old daughter. Amazing you can have a picnic or bring food from downtown and enjoy a beautiful time. We love it!
John A — Google review
Simcoe Park is a serene green space located in the heart of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. This beautifully maintained park offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling tourist attractions nearby, such as the falls themselves and the surrounding entertainment district. The park features open lawns, shaded seating areas, and pathways perfect for a leisurely stroll or a quiet moment of reflection. What stands out is its accessibility and proximity to major landmarks, making it a convenient spot to relax while exploring the city. Visitors often appreciate its clean, tranquil environment and the contrast it provides to the vibrant energy of Niagara Falls. Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind or a scenic location for a picnic, Simcoe Park is a charming choice.

This large and beautiful park has a small fountain in the corner that was delighting many small children on a hot day. There are also many playground equipment spots. Benches abound for tired feet and many are in the shade of large mature trees. An ample sized washroom is available as well.
Penny S — Google review
INSANELY BEAUTIFUL! I arrived a little late in the afternoon but very much enjoyed a present moment in the park relaxing and journaling. My dogs loved the soft green grass.
Jodie — Google review
Great park! And greater if you visit on Canada's Day. They have food, live music, a live band and classic cars that you can take pictures of.
M C — Google review
A beautiful park located across the street from the Prince of Wales Hotel. The park offers many picnic tables, a play ground and open areas for family enjoyment. It has a relaxing atmosphere.
William P — Google review
Beautiful lake view and walking path; but this year town has done little landscaping and the benches are locked up, all parkometers around for people to park and walk around.
M — Google review
This place was beautiful! Lovely and shaded with a park AND a free small wading pool with lifeguards! The only downside is apparently after 6 they drain the wading pool and they close and drain the pool and there were many upset children there my daughter included when we brought her to play just after dinner.

Queenston Heights Park is a beautifully landscaped city park that features the Brock and Laura Secord Monuments, picnic pavilions, and a playground. It is part of the Niagara gardens which include various attractions such as the Parks Floral Showhouse, Centennial Lilac Garden, Floral Clock, Dufferin Islands, and Oakes Garden Theatre.
An excellent park with a rich and fascinating history, making it a must-visit destination. During winter, access is somewhat limited, with one of the parking lots closed. The grand monument dedicated to Sir Isaac Brock stands as an iconic centerpiece, capturing the attention of visitors with its impressive architecture and historical significance. From the monument, the breathtaking view of the Niagara River unfolds, offering a stunning panorama that leaves a lasting impression. The park's serene atmosphere and connection to the past make it an unforgettable experience in any season.
Igor T — Google review
Amazing place. Can climb the monument step over 250 of them. Been a few time and found out this time his remains are actually buried right were I was standing... nit with family but with his right hand servant....hmmm seemed kinda weird. The views and history are amazing. The drive along the Nigara down river from the falls to the monument is filled with amazing photo opertunities. Amazing to do with your early teens as they will be learning this in school ( if in Ontario,Canada )in the next few years of there life...great?day trip if in southern Ontario.

The park's well-maintained gardens and scenic trails provide a perfect setting for leisurely strolls and picnics, with stunning views of the Niagara River and surrounding landscapes. Quiet and peaceful, away from huge crowds. Great place to spend a summer day! The view is incredible from Brock's monument. Close to floral clock as well!

I have to make a special trip to come back again . I went to this park yesterday because we joined a day trip tour to the Niagara-on-the-Lake and we were there to have lunch at the restaurant. Only have time to take a few photos of the Brock's Monument, didn't have time to see the whole park. I can see good children playground, beautiful flowers and trees, over looking the Niagara River . Should be very beautiful in the Falls.
Helen L — Google review
Visited Queenston Heights Park in late February where the signs state that the walkways aren’t maintained in the winter. You’d never know. The park was beautiful and well maintained. Outstanding views with lots of historical information posted.

Spectacular view. Amazing well maintained park. Rich in history and quiet. You would fall in love visiting this place. It was wintertime during my last visit and the view of the Niagara river is wonderful its more clearer view than summertime🥰 Not crowded. Its a very relaxing place. Its uniquely beautiful in every season 🥰

Hiking Trails
The Niagara Glen Nature Centre, located near the Niagara River, is a picturesque nature destination offering guided hiking tours through rugged paths in the Carolinian Forest and along the Niagara River Whirlpool. Visitors can also enjoy bouldering and a picnic pavilion, as well as snacks and souvenirs. This serene pocket of nature has been designated as an official Nature Reserve since 1992 and provides stunning views of lush forest and spectacular boulders left behind by the Falls thousands of years ago.
I am overwhelmed after my hiking trip today! A must visit place for those who love hiking and being surrounded by nature. I took the river trail, which has some areas a bit tricky. A good pair of hiking shoes can take care of it. About the view, I have no words to describe how amazing it is! the turquoise water, sound of forceful Niagara river at places as well as the calm and quiet nature of the river at certain areas- everything is just wholesome! There are multiple points along the trail where you can see the different nature of the same river! Also at times, the energy of the whirlpool jet riders make it more enjoyable! We saw quite a lot of those boats during our hike. Anybody who is reading the review, I hope you enjoy the same or even more than I enjoyed there!
Puja P — Google review
Easy to drive there with lots of paid parking. Big washrooms at the entrance. Scenic view along the trail is amazing. It is suitable for families, friends and even elders. Difficulty of the main loop is below moderate, it may take 1 - 1.5 hours casually.
Vincent L — Google review
Such a great little hike in Niagara. $8/hour to park, but it’s worth it. Well maintained trails with lots of hikers of all skill levels, plus rock climbers everywhere. It’s nicely shaded also, so it’s a great activity for a hot day. Lots of big boulders and small caves. I like to do the full loop, but the Cliffside trail has some nice big boulders to check out.
Adam S — Google review
Love this place so so much, can feel very amazing nature and Niagara great river view. Highly recommended to visit this place, and can enjoy a relaxing hiking down river side, there is a lovely trail.
Yuande Y — Google review
The trail walk is one of the most beautiful. You are literally walking along the Niagara river. :) You can see USA across the river. We definitely have a much beautiful side and a better view lol
Anish A — Google review
We hiked the main loop trail at Niagara Glen. The 2-kilometer path was mostly easy with a few moderate sections, and it offered breathtaking views of the Niagara River. The roaring rapids provided a dramatic backdrop, and we loved the extra thrill of watching the whirlpool jet boats zip by. The well-maintained and clearly marked trails made for a relaxing and enjoyable walk.

Niagara Glen - Hiking Should have posted last year but never too late. Niagara Glen is an amazing spot for hiking with some of the best views of the Niagara River and whirlpool. The trails take you right down into the gorge, surrounded by beautiful rock formations, lush forest, and super clear water. It feels like a hidden world away from the tourist crowds. Trails are a bit rugged in spots, so wear good shoes, but it’s totally worth it. Great place for nature lovers, hikers, and photographers. One of the most underrated gems near Niagara Falls! FYI- Please take a big water bottle, its a bit tiring hike. I did see some people rock climbing as well.
Fannie S — Google review
We recently hiked the main loop trail at the Niagara Glen Trails and had a great experience. The trails are well maintained, clearly marked, and incredibly scenic. The staff at the Nature Center were very friendly and helpful. The center itself is well-designed and maintained. I did notice a few plastic bottles littered along the path. It's a request to all the visitors to be respectful of the forest and help preserve it for everyone. We only explored the main loop trail this time, but we’re looking forward to coming back and checking out the other trails.

McFarland House, nestled in a serene park-like setting, is a historic gem dating back to the 1800s. Constructed by John McFarland and his sons on land granted by King George III, it stands as one of the few pre-War of 1812 buildings in Niagara-on-the-Lake. During the war, it served as a hospital and army headquarters for both British and American forces. The house also housed a cannon battery aimed at protecting the Niagara River.
McFarland house is located on Niagara Parkway directly on the Niagara river which forms the international boundary between Canada and the United States. Lewiston, New York is directly visible from the property. The home is meticulously maintained and is part of many guided, group tours. The surrounding park has trails, park benches as well as picnic tables, which makes it a great spot to spend time with family and friends and have a barbecue. There are many wineries located in close proximity. Paid parking is available and an admissions ticket is required Absolutely the historic piece of Canadian history. Definitely worth a visit.

We went for the afternoon tea. The grounds are beautiful and the tea room is an elegant. Glassed in area. The 3 tier plate that accompanies the tea includes sandwiches, scones, and various small cakes. The cranberry and blueberry scones were great. The sandwiches and cakes were fine, nothing outstanding. Service was very good.
Sanjoy C — Google review
We visited the McFarland House, Friday July 25 th. Our visit started in the opulent gardens which were such a treat. They were a combination of Country English Garden that combined a fully versatile Kitchen Garden. What a world of abundance we would live in if we all planted with so much purpose and beauty. As we entered the house there were three hosts were bubbling around. They were full of so much joy and laughter. We signed up for a tour of the house to learn about the McFarland House, John McFarland and his family. That house had interesting features including the brickwork and the methods applied in building the house. Very interesting to anyone in construction or architecture. The guide highlighted many original features including peek holes into the original paints. The main stairway which was ahead of its time. The original locking mechanism on the front door. To one of the original cast iron heaters. Upstairs they have set up the main bedroom, a child’s bedroom, a servants room (Which in all likelihood would not have been in the main house.) and as the house was used as a hospital during the war of 1812 there was a soldiers room. This area is ripe in history especially of the war of 1812. It is the focus of the tour. My only disappointment was there was no mention of the history of of our First Nations and how this land came to be in the possession of the McFarlands. Not to takeaway from the families history. Yet to honour the history of these lands and how our country came to be. Our tour was about 45 mins. We had some wonderful conversations with our tour guide and shared some trips down memory lane. We were able to share living history of seeing some of the artifacts in use in our families homes. My Great Grandmother used a chamber pot and a bed warmer her passing in 1979. My Great Aunt always used a wash stand in her bedroom til early 1980’s There was a clay pipe similar to the one my husband had til 2020. We were then fortunate to stay for High Tea in their beautiful Tea Room in the Conservatory. They were served by the tour guides in period dress. The sandwiches were watercress, cucumber and turkey. The scones cheese and chive, berry and plain with jam , cream and butter. Finished with an assortment of desserts and fruits. You have a selection of teas to enjoy. We loved the Scottish Breakfast Tea. I indulged in a mimosa. My only regret was not taking a picture of the Lady with the Pearls. We are making plans to return for the Murder Mystery event they offer. Accessibility of the fist floor was great. Sadly being a period home the 2nd floor would not be available to wheel chair users. I left my walker used my cane and they did provide spots to sit along the way. If you wish to have high tea I would recommend reservations.

The McFarland House was an absolute dream venue for our wedding! The historic charm, lush gardens, and beautifully maintained grounds created the most romantic atmosphere for our special day. From the moment we arrived, it felt timeless and intimate — like we had stepped into a fairytale. The natural beauty of the property meant we hardly needed extra décor, and every spot was picture-perfect for photos. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how stunning and unique the venue was. The staff was also wonderful and ensured everything went smoothly. We are so grateful to have had such a magical place to begin our married life — it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Ryerson Park in Niagara-on-the-Lake is a hidden gem, offering stunning sunset views of the Toronto skyline. Nestled at the end of Niagara Boulevard and Vincent Avenue, this park features limited parking but ample green space, benches, and picnic tables. Visitors can enjoy a quiet family picnic or take a leisurely stroll along the tiny sandy beach.
A wonderful place to watch the sunset. The scenery changes everyday and no one day is the same.

You must be in search of the best sunset view. Well you finally found it! This park is a hidden gem which took us years of searching. Best sunset view you can ever find. A small park located at a very nice silent residential neighbourhood in Niagara on the lake. Very nice place for a family picnic, family time just sat down enjoy the fresh air as you watch the sun set calmly through the night. Plenty of garbage bin around so there’s no reason to leave any clutter behind. Parking is very limited. I thing there’s only 4 side street spots available with 2 hour limit. You may have to find residential side street parking during peak times “weekends”. Not much lightings in the park at night so you may have to prepare if you okay to stay late at night. Attached some we took first week of October. Sun is like cherry red at this time of the year. We sat down to witness how it looks from sunset till dusk and no doubt, it’s amazing. if you think this review is helpful, do drop us a like below. Enjoy

Beautiful and tranquil spot to relax, and get a good view of the Lake of Ontario. Toronto is just on the other side of the lake. We dropped by this park on our way back to Toronto. Definitely a gem.

Quiet little park overlooking Lake Ontario, plenty of benches, a picnic table and small beach. Was told that it has a great sunset. Great place to wind down and enjoy a view of Toronto across the lake.

Quaint park at the end of Niagara Blvd with ample parking for about 7 vehicles for 1hr. The park lends itself for enjoyment of the vast Niagara River as you gaze outward into vast waters occasionally glimpse of sea vessels off in distance may jog across your timeline. The park is small but offers up 4 picnic tables for enjoyment, however the shoreline can be walked. The best feature is the homes adjacent to the park for leisure stroll.

This Park is situated on Niagara on the lake ....is not big but it is so beautiful....you can watch the sunset on a bench or listen to the sounds of Waves in a windy day! That whole surrounding is nice , clean quite and with houses of different styles and nice decorated now in Fall!!

This is a nice little park with a few benches and a couple picnic tables. We went to it for the first time in years and was surprised to see the little beach that was once there, has fallen victim to the high water levels. You can still sit on the flat rocks and enjoy a dip in the refreshing waters. One of my favourite places to watch the sunset...even though last night's was hidden behind the clouds :(

Great view of Lake Niagara. Toronto sits in the background. The water is almost at your feet. There are steps down. Be careful. The park sits in a neighborhood, minimal parking. Canadian Flag. Must visit. Try to go at night to get the view of Toronto’s skyline lit up.

The Gardens at Pillar and Post transform into a magical Christmas wonderland during the holiday season, featuring enchanting lights, festive music, delicious snacks, an ice rink, cozy fire pits, and outdoor movie screenings. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the serene gardens adorned with beautiful Christmas decorations while listening to the soothing sounds of a waterfall and observing Koi fish in the pond. The venue offers wheelchair accessibility and ample parking.
The Christmas Wonderland at the Pillar and Post Gardens was quite a sight! It was bitterly cold on this evening but there were still lots of people enjoying the grounds. They serve drinks and snacks and have lots of seatings spread out everywhere, some with burning fires pits giving much needed warmth. They have a whole bunch of wooden cabins which were empty on this day, but they sure added to the charm. One of the wooden cabins had a large TV set up which was playing The Polar Express. Folks were sitting and watching the movie covered in blankets, too cute. There are public washrooms inside that were clean and accessible by the barn where drinks are offered. They built a large skating rink which was busy enough considering how cold it was. There are lots of benches around the rink for people to put their skates on. If you have time, you should go into the gorgeous Pillar and Post Hotel for a drink at the Cannery!

The Money Gardens across from the Pillar and Post Inn is a must stop whilst visiting Niagara on the Lake. It is a beautifully curated garden and over the recent weekend the Vintage Hotel hosted a Canada Bloom fair. They held events, cooking shows, local vendors, fashion show and many other activities including a ride around the old town to see the floral displays. There was a teapot in front of the Prince of Wales hotel, a couple of lollipops in front of the Shaw Cafe, strawberries n peaches in front of the Pillar n Post and a wine glass filled with floral designs and a box of popcorn flowers plus a bee hive with lots of bees made from floral arrangements. Magical it was.

Really awesome place for an afternoon or evening stroll during winter (but also summer, of course). Plenty to see and enjoy - there's plenty of benches, and a food heating spots too. Entry is free to the gardens; skating wasn't open yet mid-December due to warm temperatures, but should be open soon. There's a small post with warm and cold drinks for purchase.

Such a serene place with good display of Christmas decorations surrounding the area. Koi fish can be seen under the bridge and a waterfall can be heard while strolling the path. A bar is available to keep you warm on a drizzly night like tonight. Parking is available and wheelchair accessible. A beautiful place to visit while at Niagara on The Lake.

Beautiful Christmas garden full of light and winter beauty with a gigantic Christmas tree in the middle. The garden has multiple areas for seating ( some with gas burning fire pits) and for walking along many pathways and along a large pond that is decorated with lights during winter months. There is a barn turned into an event hall ( where the bathrooms are located) and a small bar on another corner of the garden offering some beverages ( cider, coffee cream, …) and snacks( pretzel,…) With a stay at one of the Vintage hotels, you will receive a free entry ticket and a food and drink voucher (and possibly a blanket to keep you warm).

Upper Canada Native Art is a vibrant gallery that showcases the rich artistic heritage of Indigenous cultures, particularly focusing on Inuit and Haudenosaunee artists. With decades of collaboration with talented creators from across Canada, this gallery presents an impressive collection of traditional artworks, including sculptures, prints, and unique giftware. The town itself has a fascinating history as the first capital of Upper Canada from 1792 to 1796 and boasts colonial architecture that reflects its British classical roots.
Loved this store!! Everything in this store is beautiful. I wanted to buy so many things here but my bank account said no. I walked out with 2 mugs ($17 each) of which I have others of from same company and bought from another shop ($16). Prices pretty on the mark for Indigenous craftsmanship.

A wonderfully curated shop of Inuit art of all types from Canada’s northern regions. A wide range of objects along with a wide range of prices make it a great place to purchase the works of many native peoples to fit one’s budget.

What a beautiful store! My family and I felt very welcome when we walked in this past summer. The owner took the time to describe the stunning pieces she had on display. My son is very happy with his new dream catcher and the little temp tattoos she gave to him.

The store specializes in Inuit and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) art celebrating and promoting Canadian Native Artisans. The store has stuff ranging from winter gear such as gloves, hats, scarfs to home decor and art pieces. The collection is unique and artisanal but I found the prices a little expensive.

The Butterfly Conservatory is a captivating venue where you can witness over 2,000 butterflies fluttering in a lush rainforest setting. It's one of the many must-see attractions at Niagara Falls State Park, offering an immersive experience with nature. The conservatory provides an opportunity to observe these beautiful creatures up close and learn about their habitat. It's a perfect family-friendly destination that offers an educational and enchanting experience for visitors of all ages.
I’d give 20 stars if I could! Everything was spotless and well maintained. The $20 entry fee was totally worth it. The moment you step inside, you can feel the amazing energy — butterflies are flying all around you, and the view is absolutely beautiful. If you love butterflies, this place is a must-visit! The staff was super friendly, and don’t miss the free rose garden outside.
Yamicelys R — Google review
There was no wait when we arrived, which was great. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes — there's so much to see outdoors! The gardens are beautiful and very well-maintained, and there's also a cafe on-site if you want to grab a bite. The conservatory itself isn't very large and was a bit crowded when we visited, so we only spent a few minutes inside before heading out. There's also a gift shop, though it's mostly stocked with souvenirs and items for young kids. The real highlight is definitely the outdoor space. We loved exploring the gardens, and there’s even a golf course nearby. Highly recommended for a relaxed day out in nature!

We wanted a kid and baby-friendly activity for our mini getaway and am so glad we opted for this. We’ve been to Niagara Falls dozens of times but had never thought to explore this gem and we were so glad we did. We spent less than an hour here (thank you previous Google reviewers about the paid parking tip and only needing an hour!) yet it felt much longer. Adults, kid and baby were so enchanted by the exotic beauty of the thousands of gorgeous butterflies fluttering around. What a treat it was to be in their domain and admire in awe and wonder. It is humid of course so recommend to come in a t-shirt, regardless of the actual weather outside. We had our baby in a baby carrier and it worked out wonderfully; saw some other babies in strollers and preferred having a baby carrier as it allowed us to navigate easily on the paths. Gift shop was a lovely browse too; purchased a cute hologram butterfly bookmark for our son to remember this conservatory every time he reads. Highly recommended!

Cool small dome filled with many butterflies and tropical plants. I was impressed by the number of butterflies, but expected a little more variety of types. 20-30 minutes is plenty to see everything. Kind of expensive at over $20 for an adult and $8 parking in the lot. I would say it's worth stop if it's part of an included package...probably dont need to go out of your way to see just that unless you are a big butterfly fan.
Kevin M — Google review
Butterflies, science, and my inner 5-year-old fully activated! I didn’t expect to be this entertained by butterflies, but here we are. The place is packed with them—so many different kinds that I started naming them like Pokémon. One even landed on my shoulder, and for a brief moment I considered adding “Disney princess” to my résumé. The real MVP was the butterfly caretaker who answered approximately one million of my questions (I basically turned my visit into a field trip). He was so patient and full of knowledge, it honestly made the whole experience that much cooler. If you’re anywhere near Niagara-on-the-Lake, make this a pit stop. It’s colorful, relaxing, and will have you questioning your life choices if you didn’t wear bright colors to attract more butterflies. 10/10 would visit again—armed with more questions and maybe a net (just kidding… kind of).
Tisha B — Google review
If I could give this place more stars, I would. This was an AMAZING experience that felt like pure joy and relaxation at the same time. There were so many absolutely stunning butterflies of all different kinds. 10/10 recommend this place whether you’re traveling, just trying to get the family out of the house, or even for a fun date. I cannot express how beautiful this place and experience was. After the experience there’s a cute gift shop, as well as gorgeous gardens and even a cafe! Definitely a highlight of my vacation!

I’ve been here TWO times for my birthday, i LOVE it. I also really love Kyle, one of the workers there. he’s just like me. Tell Kyle he’s awesome. He might not remember me but i’m the pale boy with long-ish brown hair. Anyway, the butterflies are beautiful, the orange ones with yellow spots usually do not like touching me for some reason. remember to look for butterflies who are resting on the floor and pick them up and put them on a leaf so they don’t get stepped on! I recommend this place for insect enjoyers.
Nicholas E — Google review
October 2025 review. I love butterflies. I been to Key West (Florida) butterfly conservatory as well, I find Niagara is probably bigger, has more variety of plants, trees and number of butterflies. STILL I find experience 45$ including tax for 2 adult people and 2 hour 16$ parking if you wanna enjoy garden and butterflies - way over priced and overvalued! Regardless how beautiful it all is - I still don't think it really worth 61$ for 2 hours being here. Alex Garden or Rosetta McClain Gardens (free parking) (Toronto) are absolutely free and as impressive as Nigara Botanical Garden. The city should cover some cost or at least offer free 2 hour parking. Tourist should not be treated as walking wallets.

Located in the Glendale neighborhood, Woodend Conservation Area has a rich military history dating back to the War of 1812. It offers panoramic views of the escarpment slopes and Lake Ontario. The area is popular for its hiking trails that wind through the escarpment forest and hardwood and Carolinian forest. Visitors can enjoy beautiful hikes suitable for all ages, with various trails and two parking lots available.
Woodend Conservation Area is a peaceful spot with beautiful trails, perfect for a relaxing walk or nature break. It’s not too crowded, which makes it great for quiet hikes. The trails are beginner friendly, with some nice spots to take photos. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy nature without the big crowds!

Easy to medium challenging tracks, neat stuff to discover, but really no chance of getting lost. Great any time of the year! Trail running, the best of hiking and running! Mixed terrain, alternate side trails and with access to the Bruce Trail, this conservation area will not disappoint. Add more kilometers when you park outside the gates and walk/run an extra 2 km (return). If you prefer running on these rugged, swampy, and gritty trails to the cool, scenic colors, you'll want to run on these trails! The trails are hilly, rocky and narrow with options to take further wider footpaths on the main trails. Family friendly depending on choice of trails, however, not stroller or mobility aid friendly. Bring water and be prepared for "natural on site facilities". Alternately drive to the entrance but very narrow with muddy roads and be watchful for pedestrians. It is very refreshing from the 'magic' conservation areas and instead take in the rugged beauty of the cliffs. Find Laura Secord's trail and imagine what it must have been like when you walked 30 kilometers in the War of 1812 to warn James Fitzgibbon that Americans

This one’s a bit tricky to rate. If you’re after a quiet trail that’s easy to navigate and great for kids or beginner hikers, it’s a solid 5/5. For more seasoned hikers, it’s more of a pleasant forest stroll — mostly flat with minimal elevation, but still enjoyable. The trails are well-marked and well-maintained. Parking is limited, though it’s usually not too busy outside of long weekends. Keep an eye out for coyotes — I’ve spotted them even during the day. It’s also conveniently close to the Niagara Outlets and White Oaks Spa, making it a nice addition to a day trip in the area.

This is a great 2.5km trail loop to explore and enjoy nature! The hills aren't too bad and the terrain isn't too rough so it's perfect for casual trail walkers and runners of all kinds! A lot of wild life and pretty flowers to brighten your day as well! You will LOVE it here!

A nice forest conservation area that's a short 3-min drive from the Outlet Collection at Niagara and from White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa. Parking on site is free and is mostly parallel parking on both sides of street/lot. There are a few trails to choose from and there's lots to see. Different elevations so be prepared for a lower and upper level hike as you're next to the escarpment. The views are amazing and the trail we took was a loop so there wasn't a need to double back.

Short Hills Provincial Park, spanning 735 hectares, is a natural oasis offering activities such as fishing and various trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Located just a short drive from the main market area, it's an ideal spot to immerse yourself in the city's natural beauty. The park is renowned for its diverse plant and tree-covered trails.
My first experience at Short Hills. Our trail was well-marked. It was an exciting and scenic 4-hour adventure. Can't wait to go back!

Had a great hike at Short Hills today. No ticks in late May but I still did wear spray and long sleeves just in case. Conditions were good - horses chewed up some of the trail likely after all the rain we have had but it’s manageable and only one spot on the Swayze Loop. Swayze Falls was dry, but the Terrace Creek falls had some water going. Super quiet and a great morning.

There is a decent amount of free parking with additional parking on the road. There is a bathroom in the one parking lot it seems to be open year round. They have alot of hiking trails there, you could hike for 20k and not see the same trail twice. Swayze falls is very beautiful, but does dry up quite a bit in the summer. You can walk up the creek and see the falls from down below with is really nice. Makes a perfect place for a picnic. Trail can get quite muddy, but lots of fun.
Brent — Google review
My favourite local hiking spot. If you deviate from the main trail you can find yourself exploring some really cool areas. Hikes can last from 1 hour to several depending on where you decide to go. I love coming here every summer for my cardio. I highly recommend wearing long pants and long sleeved apparel aswell as hiking boots if you veer away from the main trail as ticks are quite prevalent. It can also get fairly muddy after a rainfall. Have fun! And always check yourself afterwards! Happy hiking!

After hearing from multiple friends who enjoy hiking that Short Hills Provincial Park is the best place to go, I finally decided to visit last year. Unfortunately, Apple Maps led us to the middle of a road. After driving around for a while, we gave up and went to a familiar spot instead. Determined to try again, we revisited Short Hills last week. When the same thing happened, I checked Google Maps and quickly realized the issue: I hadn’t entered the correct parking lot. Once I entered ‘Parking Lot A’ into my device, we arrived without any trouble. Despite the initial setbacks, I am extremely disappointed with all the potential hikes I missed out on over the past year. Short Hills is undoubtedly the best place for avid hikers in the area, not crowded with tourists like some other popular hiking spots. With an abundance of trails, you can use the AllTrails app to decide the distance and route of your hike (follow me on AllTrails, Scooter Nagy). I highly recommend giving Short Hills Provincial Park a visit; you won’t be disappointed by the beautiful trails and serene environment.

Started coming here years ago to tackle all 7 trails. completed. Now I am bring my grandkids here to do the same. love the views. different levels of difficulty in paths. Ive seen wild turkeys, skunks, hawks, deer among others. Can't wait to go back!

While hiking the Bruce Trail from end to end we inevitably came thru the park. We have liked it a lot. The meandering creek flowing at the base of the sweeping hills gave us such a pleasant feeling. We didn't explore the other trails that are in the park, but we have put this place on our bucket list. The waterfalls were amazing as well. We only saw the Terrace Creek and the Swayze. Amazing sights, for sure
Daniel G — Google review
I’ve come to this park over ten times now and every time I leave amazed. The trails take you through various ecosystems; a hardwood grove ( black walnut trail), wildflower fields (scarlet tanager) waterfalls, thick pine forests ( hemlock valley). There are levels of difficulty for all to enjoy! I’ve always parked up by Pelham road and walked down the steep gravel path before merging onto other trails, but recently I broke with tradition and tried Wiley road. What a gem! Please try it. Scarlet tanager to hemlock was my favourite section this time of year because of the bustling wildflower fields. Teeming with butterflies and bees. In winter time or after great rains I’d say swayze loop because the falls are magical. Well worth the exhaustive 2 hours. Not this time of year, though. The drought effects everything.

The Centennial Lilac Garden is a beautiful garden that features many different types of lilacs with wonderful aromas. It's a great place to visit for those who want to relax, and the lilacs are simply lovely.
Even though it wasn’t lilac season, visiting the Centennial Lilac Garden was still a wonderful experience! The garden’s peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained paths, and surrounding greenery made it the perfect spot for a relaxing walk. While the lilacs weren’t in bloom, the beauty of the landscape and the variety of other plants and trees provided a serene and picturesque setting. The garden is clearly loved and cared for, and I can only imagine how stunning it must be when the lilacs are in full bloom. It’s a lovely place to unwind and connect with nature, even off-season. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet retreat or a scenic stroll!
Azmain N — Google review
It is a very beautiful garden where you can easily spend 30 minutes looking at the lilacs. There are other nearby attractions, so if you have already made the drive, don't forget to check out the clock. The view of the river, which is also a close walk away, is also worth it. Parking is free, but during the season in May, it's very busy.
Doron G — Google review
Always love coming here, since lilacs are y favourite flower and scent! You have to time it just right though cuz the blossoms don't last long before they start wilting, sadly!
Janette H — Google review
My most favourite place to visit near the end of spring!! There's hundreds, and hundreds of fragrant Lilac bushes, in all sizes and varieties!! The second you step out of your vehicle their smell entices you to get closer and take them all in. Lilacs are my absolute favourite flower...I really wish they all lasted longer...and the Lilac Garden is Heaven to me!! There is also a small side garden with other beautiful flowering bushes. Best time to visit is early-mid May, to about the first week in June.
Karen L — Google review
Please come and enjoy the Lilac Garden, but please don't pic them. Take only pictures, leave nothing, and enjoy our wonderful park. Don't be these ladies who took massive hand fulls of Lilac flowers. If everyone did what they chose to do, there would be nothing left for other to enjoy, and it hurts the plants.

Beautiful place, well-maintained grounds. It was a bit difficult to find parking, but most likely because it was the peak of the tree blooming season.

Wow! What an amazing place. It's a delight for your visual and olfactory senses. There are 100s of lilac trees in the park and you can see all colours of lilac. We visited the Niagara region many times, but this was the first time we stopped here. Now, it's going to be a "must" stop when we visit Niagara in May.

Burgoyne Woods is a park with abundant green space and newly paved roads suitable for rollerblading. It offers a plethora of amenities such as benches, picnic tables, and shaded areas. The playground is sizable and conveniently located near a spacious parking lot. Although the dog park couldn't be explored this time, the overall scenery is breathtaking and tranquil. The park features fields, accessible trails, numerous trees, and clean outhouses in place of locked washrooms.
Great park can't wait to explore some more

Incredibly beautiful place, perfect for a picnic. Too bad they keep the washrooms locked during fall and winter.
Luana G — Google review
Very scenic, quiet place. There is a large fielded area, tons of picnic tables, barbecue grills, a tennis court, park and tons of free parking. There were lots of trash cans in the area. Lots of trees and little accessible trails. There are washrooms as well as clean outhouses. There’s some vandalism on the outhouses and buildings.
Esther S — Google review
Great mix of shade and sun. There's an abundant amoung of tables for picnicking, including several lined up for large groups. We use the charcoal BBQs all the time, just bring your own pumice, stone to clean it, and some charcoal, and you're good to go. The washrooms are surprisingly clean and don't smell to high heavens. If you're looking for a great place to hang out with the family for the day, this is it!! But, remember, this is a nature park, you need to make your own adventure and fun.

Tons of green space! Newly paved roads that will be great for rollerblading, lots of benches, picnic tables and shade. Playground is fairly large and located by a large parking lot. Didn't have a chance to go down the dip and up the hill to check out the dog park - next time. 😉

Located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, Butler's Barracks National Historic Site is a significant historical landmark dating back 200 years to the War of 1812. This historic military complex served as a storage facility during the war and has since been utilized for various purposes by the Canadian military. The site is easily accessible from Mary Street or via a trail from Fort George.
Nice open space between Fort George and Niagara on lake. Watched fire works from Fort George, on Canada day. Interesting historical buidings. Did not realize how extensive the military presence was back in the 19th century.

The buildings are in good shape. The historical notices are informative. It's all very low key. There are public bathrooms at the recreation building just East through a small forest. I go there regularly for the 60% of The Commons set aside for leash-free dog walking. The Commons is surrounded by a paved, tree-shaded walkway.

Nestled along the scenic Niagara Parkway, Rosberg Family Park is a delightful destination for outdoor enthusiasts. This charming park features the renowned Olympic Torch Trail, which commemorates the journey of the Olympic torch to Vancouver's Winter Olympics in 2010. It's a favorite spot for walkers, cyclists, and joggers who enjoy its picturesque paths. Families will appreciate the well-maintained playground and splash pad that provide endless fun for children on warm days.
A really nice park with a playground and a splashpad neither of which I used today but were still looking pretty awesome. Tough to get a picture of them without including the kids and being "that guy." Great to sit in the shade after biking all around Niagara today.

Beautiful park. Splash pad. Lots off shade and places to sit and have bite or a coffee. My kids absolutely loved it.

It's a trail, path is cemented over so it's like a side walk goes from downtown Niagara Falls by City Hall and almost reaches Clifton Hill. It is not maintained in the winter and part of the trail can be very dark at times, I've seen people in the dark drinking, found a guy passed out on the grass and sometimes there's sketchy people, if going at night best to not go alone, day time it's fine there plenty people walking about. The park is nice they have a splash pad and just installed a new bicycle fixing station which is neat I've never anything like it.
Sean — Google review
It's a simple park for kids nothing really to Rave about. Neighborhood seems a little bit sketchy though and there was some weirdos hanging around in the vicinity.

Toddlers and preschoolers love the simple splash pad and climbing on the big rocks. Many cyclists stop to "chill". Good for a quick break. Not much green space for a picnic but overall clean and quiet for a downtown park.

I would give it a five star. But 3 year's ago, I did phone the town Hall and reported my granddaughter getting her finger pinched almost stuck, from the the one spin toy they have there. Since then two other children have got hurt by the same thing. The last one were vacationers, tourist. And they were really upset and disappointed that the city hadn't done anything to solve the problem. Of course I told them what happened to my grandchild 3 year's Pryor. The children are ment to spin this wheel. But the space in between catches their finger or fingers. Why DO THEY WAIT! FOR A SERIOUS INJURY BEFORE FIXING THE THE PROBLEM. Like SERIOUSLY! PLEASE TO WHOMEVER is in charge , before a child gets seriously injured, fix this problem. Or at some point...Think ya know.

An excellent place to rake your loveable furry family members. Very clean and controlled off leash experience. Large and small dog areas have their own landscape. Concrete walking paths in both with benches and lighting. When in Niagara falls with your pooch, you gotta stop here

My dog loves this place! I love that there is a paved track to walk and 2 different sides - large dogs / small dogs. The only down side is that people with large dogs let their dogs of leash to play in the field next to the dog park & I have seen some dogs off leash come up to the fence of the dog park, acting aggressively, which has made me nervous to leave the enclosed area / fear being attacked when I leave - it's strange because I'm not the type to be afraid of dogs. Other than that uneasiness from time to time - it's a good experience

My puppy loves it. People are freindly. Update - The only thing I have heard from many people that use it is they wish they would fix the top tap on the fountain. Would be easier to fill dishes and water bottles. Hopefully someone reads this and can maybe look into fixing it.

Queen's Royal Park Gazebo is a must-visit spot in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Situated near Lakeshore, it offers a relaxing ambiance with the soothing sound of waves and benches for enjoying meals. The park becomes even more enchanting during the fall season. Just a short walk from the town, it provides beautiful views of the water and walking paths. Visitors can also enjoy local restaurants and coffee shops nearby.
This gazebo figured into a pivotal scene in Stephen King’s 1983 film “Dead Zone” when (spoiler alert) Christopher Walken's character witnesses the killing of a young girl by a local police officer. Though the scene was actually filmed in a nearby park that was not overlooking the water - the town of NOTL liked the gazebo so much that they asked the production company if they could keep it. Cronenberg agreed and the gazebo was moved to its current location, closer to the lake.

My dog LOVES this park. How can I tell? I usually take her to Fireman's Park in Niagara (closer distance) but it is worth the extra drive to see her run around, trot around, and happy! She is also terrible off leash so this park being the size of a baseball diamond is PERFECT. HOWEVER...four stars because the water drainage is terrible. When it rains, there are puddles throughout the park. Currently still is a pool of stinky muddy water that you cannot miss, I wish something could be done about this.

I just brought my two dogs here and it was a nice great big fenced in area for them to run! Nice play area for my dog. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful scenery. My dog, Teddy loves going to the dog park and he’s always worn out when we leave. Great place. ❤️🐶
Tasha E — Google review
It’s hard to find dog parks in the WNY area that are fenced. Sometimes the grass is a little long but it’s been unusually rainy (spring/summer 2019) so maybe that has something to do with it. There isn’t any shade but the times we’ve come it’s been breezy or downright windy so we haven’t had any problems with it being too hot-still you may need sunscreen on a sunny day. One water pump seems to work on the large dog side, but the one oon the small dog side is broken. We bring our own water jug and bowl just to be on the safe side. The large dog side is usually more muddy, specifically upon entering and along the fence. It’s best to wait for a day of sun if you’re trying to avoid it. If it’s been raining for a couple days you’re sure to find puddles though. Still I like it better than the paw park in Amherst, less areas for mud. I think there’s less chance of being bitten by bugs here in the evening as well, paw park seemed to have a lot of flies and that around 6-8 pm, haven’t been there in the day yet. (Using as a comparison since it’s also fenced). You can see in the pictures the entrance and side with mud and water is the large dog side.

Park
The McFarland Park Picnic Pavilion is a beautiful and tranquil spot for a picnic. The grounds are surrounded by gardens and green pastures with water views. There is a play area for kids to enjoy, making it the perfect spot for family get-togethers. Parking is easy to find, and the pavilion itself has plenty of seating.
Beautiful park with lots of areas to picnic. View of the river from all locations. Charcoal bbq also available.

This is the little market across from MacFarlane Park( which is a good place to walk, have tea or a picnic). The market has a great assortment of local fruit and vegetables and lots of pumpkins.

A beautiful place. There is a free parking lot but I think the main parking lot is paid. Small park but in the farms and quite besides the cars passing by. There is a washroom. The only downside is you can't see Niagara River from here as the park is very high and many trees on the edge that block the scene. It would be extraordinary if the river was not blocked. However, there is a very long stairs that will take you to the edge of the river.

The park itself, was Gorgeous! But the parking lots and the new APP must be American only. Because I could not insert payment information. Nor did the parking lot account in their database. Therefore we could not park.

Nice park in a posh neighborhood, close to the touristy bit of Niagara falls. Unfortunately parking space is usually unavailable and people tend to park on the green belt despite that not being allowed.

Dog park
DeVeaux Woods State Park Dog Park in Niagara Falls, NY, is a delightful spot for pet owners looking to let their furry friends roam free. Spanning over an acre, the park features designated areas for both small and large dogs, ensuring a safe environment for all breeds. The layout includes three fenced sections that can be closed off for private playtime, making it perfect for those who prefer solitude with their pets.
We were camped at Four Mile Creek State Park for several days. After lots of time cooped up while the humans were sightseeing, the puppies needed some energy release. This dog park had 3 fenced areas, which was nice so our dogs could have their own enclosure. Plenty of room to run around, a convenient dog water fountain, and poop disposal. Our doggies ran and ran and ran till they were worn out. Other owners were friendly, even when our rowdy two were barking and being energetic dogs. Would definitely recommend!
Kayla S — Google review
Great dog park. A few benches and small shade trees. The grass was freshly cut and I did not see a lot of un-scooped poo, which was nice for a public dog park. When I arrived with my dog the other dogs already in the park, were taken away from the gate by their owners so we could enter. It was nice not being overcome by a group of dogs when you first enter the park. I was traveling and everyone I met there was friendly. There is no water in the actual dog park, rather the fenced in between area between the parking lot and the off leash dog park. There is a section for a large and small dogs as well as a fenced area that goes all the way around both dog parks, think a horse race track.

Wonderful dog park but no one cleans up after their dog when they crap. It's filthy with dog poop. I picked up over 40 piles of poop on the right hand side. I can’t even imagine what the rest of the dog park looks like Such a great place to take our dogs. People need to clean up after their dogs!

I just started taking my dog there and it's a very nice place to go. Most people I have met are friendly and so are the dogs but I have been keeping my dog by himself until he gets to know the others.

I LOVE this park! ❤ They have so much to offer and everything is recently remodeled and beautifully maintained. Really great playground, Clean restrooms, Large Dog park, beautiful nature paths all throughout, gorgeous old buildings, huge open spaces for activities and sports fields. I grew up down the road and have been coming constantly my entire life. Even now that I moved a bit out of the neighborhood, I still visit. If anything this park has gotten better over the years. It's safe, beautiful, and has something for everyone to enjoy. You can even find a lone 200 year old grave tucked away on one of the paths.

Locust Grove Picnic Area, located just off the Niagara Parkway, offers a serene and secluded setting surrounded by tall Locust trees and playful wildlife like chipmunks and squirrels. Visitors can enjoy the sight of Turkey Vultures and maybe even a Bald Eagle soaring above. The area is well-maintained with picnic tables, BBQ grills, benches, and plenty of shade for relaxation.
This hidden gem is a truly wonderful spot to stop for a picnic, break, or just soak up the views across the Niagara River. It is clean and well maintained, offering some sunny spots but plenty of shade. We saw a fox wander through, and checked out Art Park over in NY state. Check it out...no, wait, don't, it's better kept secret ;)

Nestled in the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, St Andrews Presbyterian Church stands as a testament to the area's rich Loyalist heritage. This historic church is part of a beautifully planned district characterized by its grid layout and tree-lined streets, which create an inviting atmosphere for visitors. The surrounding landscape features picturesque views of both the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, enhancing the serene ambiance.
My wife and I are truly blessed by the experience of attending St Andrews Presbyterian church in Niagara-on-Lake. From the moment we first visited and attended service, the warmth and inclusiveness of the congregation made us feel like we were part of a loving family. People from all walks of life seem to come together in worship and to create a beautiful sense of unity. The ministry is exceptional. The spiritual guidance offered through the sermons is heartfelt, thought-provoking, and deeply rooted in scripture, leaving us uplifted and inspired. The music ministry is equally outstanding, with a vibrant and soulful blend of songs that bring us closer to God. What stands out most is how genuinely welcoming everyone is. The congregation goes out of their way to make us feel at home. Every Sunday after service, everyone is invited for a social get-together over coffee/tea and pastry. It’s clear to us that St Andrews is a place where everyone is valued and embraced. Lou C.

FH Leslie Park, located in downtown, recently underwent a transformation with the replacement of its old playground. The previous playground was in poor condition, covered in graffiti and had crumbling stairs. After the main slide was damaged, it was decided to demolish the entire structure and build a new one. Although the design may not be groundbreaking due to limited space for construction, the park now boasts a brand new playground for visitors to enjoy.

The Centennial Sports Park, a local recreational facility, proved to be an excellent resource for families and friends alike. It boasted a delightful splash pad, which was particularly enjoyable on hot days. The grandchild had a wonderful time playing with other children in the relatively uncrowded park.

Definitely a spot for locals, this wonderful hidden park has trees from all around the region. It has a great tree-lined trail that runs along Lake Ontario and a large meadow that is perfect for a picnic. It is not well marked, and parking is not really existant. Just park and go around the gate to reach the park.

This place is fantastic. A great walk along the water with lots to see and experience. Wildlife everywhere! I'll be back to spend the better part of a day here as soon as I can!
Andrew B — Google review
This "park" is right between a sewage treatment plant and a lagoon that collects runoff from all the farms and vineyards in the area. Use your imagination as to what might be in the lake with you and your pet. I don't think public health does regular testing of water safety. Summer 2023. I found 2 syringes on beach. Don't know if they washed up there or someone left them behind. Either way be careful when visiting.

A nice park with great views of the lake and a pond. Autumn colors were amazing. There is limited parking in front but right across the street there is plenty of space. The only problem was it wasn't maintained well. There was garbage everywhere and many bonfire leftovers. The lawn around paths wasn't mowed as well. Spending around 30 mins would be sufficient to see the whole park

Very nice place to hang out with family. There's a little something for everyone to do. Pavilions are available. Small pond for catch and release fishing. Trail for walking that is paved throughout park and then turns to dirt and stone upon entry into wooded area.(I highly recommend bug spray.)There are signs in the wooded area-kinda confusing but all in all you end up back in the same area. There is a playground for kids with a newly added splash pad area. A building with bathrooms located inside. Plenty of running around space and more. There are also many family friendly activities that go on throughout summer at this location. Don't forget to check out the Veteran Memorial located in the middle of the park too!

The veterans memorial wall is also very nice.

We attended several of the free Monday night concerts that run during the summer months. The Town of Niagara has done an incredible job of creating a beautiful park for all to enjoy. A beautiful veterans memorial, walking paths, bocce ball, mini golf, summer concert venue, all come together to provide a wonderful place to spend some time!

The splash pad is located right next to a playground with wood chips. Id say bring more durable shoes to be equipped to go to both if you're traveling with smaller kids. The splash pad does have staff on site. There are many bathrooms close by, but only a few benches to sit down. I would say to ensure that you have a place to sit, I'd bring some camp chairs for next time. Everything was very clean. I personally wouldn't bring any glass because it's all concrete. *You'll need to bring your own snacks and water ; no vending machines around this area that I saw*
