Park
Izu Shaboten Zoo is a unique combination of botanical garden and zoo, featuring 1,500 different types of cactus and succulent plants from around the world. Visitors can learn about cactus cultivation and even take part in a cactus caring course. The zoo area is home to approximately 140 species of animals, including spider monkeys, parrots, and capybaras that roam freely and can be fed and petted by visitors.
maybe one of my favorite zoos! the amount if interaction you get with animals is awesome and many are able to roam freely in massive enclosed spaces that allow people to walk through. you can feed (and pet) capybaras! you can also feed deer, monkeys, sheep, alpacas, otters- almost every animal in the zoo can be fed by you for ¥200-¥300. There’s also a giraffe you can feed! I also believe you can get a discount if you buy tickets in advance, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

Great zoo size that we covered in about 4 hours with a 4 and 6 year old. Nice cactus greenhouses with an impressive collection of 100+ year old specimens. Animal enclosures didn't many intrusive barriers which allowed us to get nice and close. There were plenty of food stations to buy feed for practically all the animals too. This type of experience would be really expensive back in Australia. General admission was also reasonable too. Definitely recommended for a family outing if you're in the area 👌

Mixed feelings. Let the bigger animals have a bigger home‼️The park itself was better than expected, whole park took 2-3 hours. The staff was friendly & the small animals look reasonably well kept. I would give it 5 stars for the smaller animals but for the larger animals it was depressing!!There was a bear/cat animal that was in one of the indoors enclosure and it was 5 steps for the entire home. Totally messed up. Some of the apes looked depressed. It rained but they provided umbrellas at the entrance & it was totally fine in the rain. I hope more people can speak out about the small enclosures.

I visited Izu Shaboten Zoo by bike on Friday, and it was lively with many tourists and local schoolchildren. In the nocturnal animals’ area, I saw bats for the first time in my life, which was a memorable experience. The zoo has a spacious layout where animals move around freely, and of course the capybaras were a highlight. The best part was the cactus-picking activity, where you choose your own cactus and pot to create a unique arrangement to take home. Although the entrance fee felt a bit high, the experience and atmosphere made it worth it.

Mixed feelings about this zoo. Coming from Canada where most Zoo's have way more space than this, some of the enclosures felt pretty sad. We were originally going to go to the top of Mount Omoro but it was closed due to weather so we went to the zoo instead. Half of the zoo enclosures were absolutely tiny, and others were fairly large. For example the one with the penguins looked very small and dirty, and same with most of the indoor ones. The gorilla exhibit was also very sad and small. You could see some of the animals pacing around very fast in the small enclosures which is a sign of stress. The owls were also chained to the ground which felt very sad to see, at first I thought they were statues. You could also feed most animals, sometimes through tubes and you could see the animals just essentially begging for the food, although they looked well fed for the most part. Some cleaning and larger enclosures would make this way nicer. However we did absolutely love the capybara parts and being able to feed them. They are so funny! The bird exhibit was also quite cool.
Mitchell A — Google review
Animal welfare is definitely not even towards the top of the list here. Most of the enclosures were so very small and pretty barren, especially for mammals. The monkeys towards the entrance had only a concrete room painted to look like a sad jungle, with only a couple of trees and no enrichment items that I could see. The sloth had a tiny concrete room with a couple of sticks, like many of the other animals. All of the owls besides one were tethered to stands with very short ropes. Many animals that every other zoo I’ve been to had in enclosures, were somehow left in open areas with no fence. Kangaroos included. The “iconic” capybara onsen is literally a muddy concrete pool that they can jump into. It was very small per the number of animals. The Agouti enclosure smelled very strong of ammonia and it was behind glass minus a small opening that you could drop food into….the ammonia smell was that strong. Many animals were dirty looking and a couple paced in circles or just back and forth. All of the parrots looked to have almost half of one whole wing clipped to prevent them from flying. The animals that were free roaming just went wherever in an odd way - I’m not sure what even kept them in the zoo. My kids liked it because you could pet many of the animals but I wonder how many animals or people have been injured due to the closeness. The only redeeming factor, and the reason for two stars, was the plant areas. My son loved seeing the different cacti, and it’s cool how you could plant your own the bring home. Overall wouldn’t recommend and definitely wouldn’t come here again. We wouldn’t have visited if we would have known just how depressing this zoo is.

Good experience there. We bought our tickets on klook before we go. They are famous because of the cactus and their capibara(u can take close up picture with them). Tried their cactus ice cream too. There's quite few of activities u can do too
Tien H — Google review
The zoo has a lot of potential. Many of the animal habitats are spacious, there are interesting species, and you can have good interaction with some animals (especially the capybara who you can feed and seem very happy). Unfortunately I felt the conditions were very inhumane for many of the exhibits and it was sad, painful, and disappointing to see. For example, the gorilla exhibit was way too small for the animals and had very little to keep them engaged. The penguin habitat had basically nowhere for the birds to swim and was filthy. There were a lot of birds and owls in tiny cages or tied to branches in place that looked distressed. A huge binturong was in a habitat not much bigger than one square meter and could barely even fit in it lengthwise. Many animals were rapidly pacing back and forth in their tiny exhibits showing signs of distress. There were tons of primates in an indoor exhibits caged that could have used enclosures ten times bigger. It was bizarre because other animals had super open and spacious exhibits. Also, because you can feed almost all of the animals (most through tubes), they are attracted to the tubes. It just seemed unnatural and not healthy to be feeding certain animals in this way rather than in a regular manner. I would way rather see a zoo with fewer animals in more appropriate enclosures.

Mountains
Mt. Omuro, a 580-meter extinct volcano in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is known for its distinctive bowl-shaped silhouette and as a symbol of the city. The mountain hosts the traditional Yamayaki festival on the second Sunday of February to preserve its natural beauty and has become a popular springtime tradition attracting many tourists. Designated as a national natural monument, Mt.
It was beautiful even though we visited at the beginning of summer on a windy day. The chair lift costs 1,000 yen round trip, be sure to check the official website beforehand in case it’s not operating due to wind or other conditions. If you’re taking the bus, keep in mind that the last one doesn’t run late, so plan accordingly.

An amazing view from and at the top. Just that on the day of our visit the winds were too strong and it was extremely cold up there. Do brace yourself abit if you were visiting there while strong winds were blowing, as it be quite challenging to walk around the mountain and the experience can be quite terrifying (the feeling of your were about to be blown away by the wind from the top of the mountain🤣). We were quite lucky to be able to get the lift up before the service was totally cancelled for the rest of the day due to the strong winds.

I came at 11 a.m. on August 15, 2025. I had to wait in line for about 1.5 hours for the chairlift, and it was incredibly hot with strong sun. Be sure to prepare for the long wait by bringing a hat, water, and a UV protection umbrella. Once you're up there, the weather is clear, and the mountain is beautiful. The walk around the mountains takes about 20 to 30 minutes

This is a beautiful mountain(that is pretty small) where, on the top of the mountain, Mt.Fuji is clearly visible. There is a shooting range(bow and arrow) in the crater(with a lot of greenery) and a climbing chairlift from which you can reach the top of the mountain from the bottom. There is also an ice cream shop on the top of the mountain with a small seating area. I do not think it is possible to hike this mountain as it is very steep.

Today was mountain climbing day! And what better mountain to traverse than the mountain that was featured in the anime 'Your Name" Mount Omuro is a very large and fun Mountain filled with lots of great views and places to walk. A full 1 hour walk around and see as far as the sky will allow you. It was a very enjoyable hike which was started and capped with a fun ride on the Rope way. A very popular destination as when leaving, the line had tripled in size! I recommend going early just as the Mount opens to avoid the 1hr wait time some have observed before.

Mt. Omuro (大室山) is a spectacular, extinct volcano in Shizuoka with panoramic views, a crater you can walk around, and fun attractions like archery, gift shops, and tasty snacks. Chairlifts provide access to the summit—just check wind conditions before visiting! At only ¥1000 for the ride, this is one of the best-value scenic spots in Japan. (5/5) Full Review Mt. Omuro: A Volcanic Gem with Views, Value, and a Bit of Wildlife Drama Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) Few attractions strike the perfect balance between value, beauty, and unique experience quite like Mt. Omuro (大室山) in the Izu Peninsula. This extinct volcano, with its near-perfect symmetry and grass-covered slopes, isn’t just a geological wonder—it's a fully packaged experience, offering unbeatable vistas, delightful snacks, and a slice of adventure with just the right dash of whimsy. Let’s start with a practical note: weather matters. We had to visit twice—on our first attempt, strong winds meant the scenic chairlifts (gondola-style lifts) were grounded. Disappointing, sure, but entirely understandable given the exposed nature of the summit. So here’s my advice: check the wind forecast, and shoot for a clear-skied day to boost your chances of spotting the elusive Mount Fuji on the horizon. When we finally made it up on day two, the experience was well worth the wait. For only ¥1000 per person, the chairlift glides you gently to the top, revealing sweeping views of Ito City, the Pacific Ocean, and rolling hills in every direction. The crater itself is walkable—a 360-degree rim trail that's flat, easy, and endlessly photogenic. And inside the bowl-like crater? A surprising twist: an archery range. Yes, you can channel your inner samurai while literally standing in a volcano. At the base of Mt. Omuro, there’s even a zoo (Izu Shaboten Zoo) and additional attractions to round out your day trip. But the summit is where the real magic happens. I was pleasantly surprised by the gift shops and cafes, which didn’t fall into the usual overpriced tourist trap formula. In fact, Mt. Omuro was running a Yuru Camp collaboration while we were there—a brilliant marketing crossover that gets bonus points in my book. As for the food, it was shockingly good for a mountaintop rest stop. Highlights included: Hokkaido milk ice cream: ultra-creamy, with a beautifully crisp cone. Miso-dipped mochi dango: savory, warm, and satisfyingly chewy. Fluffy meat bun: solid comfort food. Yakisoba: a classic Japanese staple, well-executed. Churrito (mini churro): sweet, crunchy, and worth every yen—until a hawk tried to steal it. Yes, you read that right. A hawk or falcon, clearly a local of the area, launched a bold attempt to snatch my snack. I managed to defend my churrito (barely), but another guest nearby wasn’t as lucky. While the bird doesn’t seem to pose any direct threat to people, it’s laser-focused on open food. It's a minor inconvenience that honestly added a bit of National Geographic excitement to the day. Nature finds a way… to swipe your sweets. In conclusion, Mt. Omuro is a hidden treasure—a destination that blends nature, culture, and lighthearted fun into an affordable, worthwhile visit. Between the panoramic views, quirky attractions, and delicious eats, this is an experience I would happily recommend to tourists and locals alike. Just watch your snacks.

The view from the top is simply amazing. Went in February, still winter and it was absolutely freezing! But worth the views and the walk. You can see Mt Fuji from the top, but unfortunately she was hidden by thick clouds on the day that I went. The only way to get up there is by chair lift. There's a direct bus from Ito Station.

Izu Panorama Park is a picturesque mountain park that offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji from its cable car, viewing terrace, and restaurant. In addition to this, the area boasts various attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage site Nirayama Reverbatory Furnaces, Mishima Skywalk - Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge, and the beautiful Kawazuzakura cherry trees.
Great experience. We went around 3pm and it wasn't crowded at all. We had the cable car to ourselves and get to enjoy the amazing view. The view of Mt Fuji at the top was amazing. There's few restaurants at the top which you can sit and enjoy the view. Comes with a small garden for you to walk along and a free foot spa with an amazing view! Parking was free. The shop sells a lot of cute souvenirs and Japan snacks!

I took the guests on a gondola ride and we walked around the summit area. Although I personally wished I could have relaxed at the terrace café while enjoying the mountain view, the guests took their time and seemed to enjoy themselves. They appeared very pleased with the spectacular view.

The view at the top is breathtaking!! The tranquility and beauty of Mt.Fuji gave me the chills because it is purely beautiful to see and admire. You can choose to hike up the mountain. Because we're travelling with two kids under 4yo -- we opt for the cable car. It is clean, roomy, and very well maintained. Not scary at all~ There are many facilities at the top. There are cafes, some eateries, souvenir shops, a small shrine area, kids playground, a food onsen and plenty photo spots with Mt Fuji as backdrop. My kids went straight to the kids area first (of coz) - climbing ropes, flying foxes, slides, etc. There isn't any soft paddings on the ground.....most are dirt and rocks....so would suggest supervising the younger kids when they are playing. Go make time and get a drink or small snack at the cafe, so that you can enjoy the seating they have near the infinity "pool". There are massive day bed sofas available outside too....which i believe you can rent hourly. The food are delicious and reasonably priced!! Definitely worth visiting when in the area :D Visited back in Oct 2022.

The Izu Panorama Park Ropeway Station is the starting point of a scenic 1.8-kilometer ropeway ride up Mt. Katsuragi in Izunokuni, Shizuoka. The base station itself is well-equipped with a souvenir shop and an Italian restaurant, making it a pleasant stop even before you board the gondola. Each ropeway cabin is spacious, fitting up to six adults comfortably. The 7-minute journey offers breathtaking views of the Izu Peninsula, Suruga Bay, and even Mt. Fuji on clear days. The ride is smooth, relaxing, and perfect for travelers of all ages. At the summit, you’ll arrive at the Ao Terrace, a modern observation deck with cafes, walking trails, and footbaths. It’s a beautifully designed area where visitors can enjoy refreshments while soaking in the panoramic landscape. The ropeway operates year-round, with round-trip fares at ¥2,500 for adults and ¥1,400 for children. The station is wheelchair accessible, and there’s free parking for visitors. The station is also easily reachable by bus from Izu-Nagaoka Station. Whether you’re here for a quick visit or a full day of exploring, the ropeway station sets the tone for a relaxing, scenic experience that highlights the natural beauty of the region.

Very nice here. The ropeway ride is thrilling, especially with steep climbs. On cloudy days like mine, Mt. Fuji might be hidden, but the view is still stunning. The footbath is relaxing (bring your own towel or buy one). Plenty of snacks around—the black beef curry with wasabi is incredible and highly recommended. You can stroll the whole area in under an hour, including a small quiet shrine. Not too crowded. Definitely worth visiting.

An expensive entry fee, but a well maintained boardwalk, and beautiful views of the area.. we were lucky to see Mt Fuji the day we went.

Perfect tourist trap around here becuase you get a wondering view of Mt. Fuji and Shizouka oceans and mountains. One round trip is ¥3500 and it is worth it, there is actually a lot of stuff you can do up there. Cafe and snacks are yummy and the Matcha ice cream is the bomb. The glass noodles are awesome becuase you get to cut it yourself. The Dango is also something to try! There is a nice foot bath for your feet! Please do it and there is towels to use for a small donation. A shrine for a quick prayer. The picture spot at the top of the area. Then they just extended the walk area for more views! Beautiful~ Highly recommended! The gift shop is also awesome as well. Lots of wonderful products and not just weird stuff everything is good quality gifts and snakcs.

Izu Panorama Park truly stands out as one of the best places to view Mount Fuji. My visit was in winter, under a cloudless blue sky, which made the experience even more spectacular. From the mountain top, you get an unparalleled view of the majestic Mount Fuji, but that's not all. The panorama includes Suruga Bay, the rolling hills of the Izu Peninsula, sprawling farmlands, quaint houses, and winding roads, all coming together to paint a breathtaking picture. The clarity of the day was ideal for photography, with Fuji-san standing out against the horizon. However, be prepared for the wind, as it was quite strong during my visit, which is something to consider if you're planning to spend a lot of time soaking in the views. Despite the chilly gusts, the beauty of the landscape made it all worthwhile. The park itself is well-maintained, offering various vantage points to capture the perfect shot or simply to enjoy the natural beauty. Overall, if you're in the area, Izu Panorama Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to see one of Japan's most iconic sights from a unique and beautiful perspective. Just remember to bring a jacket to fend off the wind! Scenery Rating:5.0 Ease of arrival score:4.0

Mount Amagi, located in Izu, Japan, is a stunning mountain peak offering a variety of hiking trails and breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji. It is the highest vantage point in the area and consists of several peaks including Mt. Banjiro and Mt. Banzaburo. Visitors can also explore the beautiful Joren-no-Taki waterfall, wasabi fields, trout fishing spots, and relax at the Shuzenji Onsen.
(Translated by Google) I climbed Mt. Amagi, one of the 100 famous mountains, a stoic mountain with few rewards such as scenery. The free parking lot also has toilets and facilities to wash your hiking shoes. The Amagi Rhododendron Course took about 6 and a half hours, but the path was quite difficult to understand, especially between the Karasawa Junction and Yotsutsuji, and I got nervous after climbing up some strange scree for about 30 minutes. There were a lot of warning signs posted in the parking lot, indicating that there were people who were lost, but I ended up getting lost due to my carelessness. Fortunately, I had a map on my phone, so I was able to notice it right away, but I recommend being fully prepared for the climb. It was great to be able to see Mt. Fuji from the horse's back. (Translated by Google) Mt. Amagi (Amagisan) is the collective name for the mountain range also known as Mt. Manjiro and Mt. Manzaburo (highest peak 1406m), and is the highest peak on the Izu Peninsula. There is a folk tale and legend about three Tengu brothers in the Izu region, and there is a theory that the names of these three brothers were borrowed from them. Incidentally, the eldest son is named after Mount Daruma, a mountain in Toda, Numazu City (although unlike the two brothers mentioned above, it is not a proper noun, but a common noun). There are also various theories about the origin of the mountain's name, including one that says it comes from the fact that it is one of the rainiest mountain ranges in Japan, and that it was named "Amagi" because the mountain is covered with trees so thick that it covers the sky. On Friday, April 19th, I arrived at the parking lot (Amagi Kogen Hikers' Parking Lot) before 9am. It was a weekday, so the parking lot was empty. It was very nice weather, but the yellow sand made it a little lush, but I think it was an interesting hike. The view wasn't great from the summit, but the contrast between the mountains and the sea along the way was amazing. However, there were places where the ladders and footholds were crumbling and it was difficult to walk (the steps were high), so be careful. The walking distance was 8.4km and 15,000 steps, about 6 hours, and including breaks, it was a full day's course. By the way, the course time on Yamapp is 4 and a half hours. Nestled atop a serene hill, Shuzenji Temple is a captivating destination that beautifully embodies the essence of traditional Japan. Surrounded by lush bamboo groves and vibrant cherry blossoms in spring, this historic temple offers visitors an enchanting experience year-round. The area transforms with the seasons; plum flowers bloom in spring while Japanese maples paint the landscape in fiery hues during autumn.
Very nice temple in a cute little town. You can spend a few hours here (temple and streets around it). There's a small museum in the temple that cost 300 yen to enter. It had some nice old masks so I think it was worth it.
Matthijs — Google review
The Shuzenji Temple is just a stone throw away from the footpath and the historical outdoor onsen. Unfortunately, when we visited the temple there was a group of Chinese tourists talking inadequately loud, yelling and screaming and not behaving at all in a way that other people could enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. So I tried to get away from there without having had the chance to discover the beauty of this place. Very sad.

This temple and whole town around it is really adorable. We tried some wasabi ice cream, and the hop&cold spring

The temple is located within a very picturesque village. It’s within walking distance of red bridges, a bamboo walking path, river, hot foot bath, boutique shops, cafe’s and ryokans. It would be stunning in the autumn because of the numerous Japanese maple trees located within and surrounding the temple. I’ll be sure to visit again during momiji season 🍁

At the top of the mountain, Ao Terrace offers a stunning observation deck with three water basins designed to reflect the blue hues of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, and the sky. The vibrant blue color of the water enhances the breathtaking panoramic views from this vantage point. On clear days, one basin even reflects an upside-down image of Mt. Fuji's peak. Visitors can savor these vistas while feeling a gentle breeze and enjoying private spaces for tea or relaxation.
An unexpected good time! We visited the Izu Panorama Park bc of a YouTuber I follow. I was expecting the cafe at the top but there was so much more than just the cafe!! Kids playground, walking trail, hammocks, shrine, look out spot and very 360 cool views. Fuji was hiding from us but we still had a great time! Give yourself 1-2hrs to just hangout and enjoy.

A stunning location with breathtaking views! You can take a scenic cable car ride up and down the mountain, which adds to the experience. At the base, there’s a souvenir shop with lots of local gifts, and at the top, you’ll find a cozy café where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. The reflections on the water surface make it an ideal spot for photography — every shot looks like a postcard. Peaceful, beautiful, and definitely worth a visit for both the view and the atmosphere.

We were late and one of the last few to go up the ropeway. Because it was sakura season, we saw cherry blossoms on the way up. At the top, the view was breathtaking. The sunset and cherry blossoms set a nice landscape to the whole place. Fuji-san was initially hiding behind the clouds but eventually peeked out after 30-45mins. My travel companions said we were very lucky as Fuji-san doesnt appear all the time. It is true, bcos he was hiding behind fog when we went to Lake Kawaguichiko the next day. We sat at the chairs along the open terrance with hot coffee in hand. It was very calming. We didnt walk around bcos we were there late but I will make it a point to do the walkabouts when i go again. I see from other reviews there is a lot more to see.

Ao Terrace, located at the summit of Mt. Katsuragi and accessible via the Izu Panorama Park Ropeway, is a peaceful, beautifully designed spot offering stunning panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay. The terrace features wide open spaces, relaxing seating, and tranquil water features that reflect the sky and surrounding mountains—perfect for unwinding and soaking in the natural beauty. There are several amenities at the top: Katsuragi Coffee serves drinks and light bites, and Katsuragi Saryo offers local specialties and desserts in a modern Japanese-style café. For those seeking a quieter, more private experience, small gazebos are available for rent. Visitors can also enjoy the Fujimi-no-Ashiyu, a footbath overlooking the mountains, or stroll along the boardwalk to Saezuri-no-Oka Observatory for more peaceful views and the sounds of nature. The area is pet-friendly, clean, and well-maintained, making it ideal for couples, families, or solo travelers. Whether you’re here for the views, the food, or just to relax, Ao Terrace is a must-visit destination that perfectly blends scenic beauty with comfort. Best enjoyed on clear days for maximum visibility of Mt. Fuji.

Amagi Kogen Golf Course is located in the scenic Mount Amagi area within the Fuji Hakone Izu National Park. The course offers a challenging and unique golfing experience with its high altitude, cold temperatures, and lush green surroundings. The layout of the course presents an interesting play, with curved fairways and large, steeply sloped greens that pose a challenge to golfers. Despite the cold weather, playing at this course during summer provides a refreshing and invigorating experience.
mid-Nov-2024 It was a full self service special day. Restaurant and bath are closed. Load and unload golf bag too, self service. Through play. A few choices of pastries (about ¥250) are available at reception if you needed. Fairway is very nice. Greens are fast and tricky for first timers. Lots of deers' drops but not an issue. Encountered a few holes with passing fog but we enjoyed. Actually got one-on on a par-3 hole. Mt Fuji cheered on us. Blessed with beautiful day after a short morning rain. Foliage is gorgeous. Izu is doing a golf campaign now, with 2 rounds' anywhere and golf ball will be presented and lucky draw too. Happy golfing. Recommended.

When I came here in January and February at the beginning of this year, the restaurant was closed and I went through the rounds, but this time it included lunch, so I had tempura soba for lunch. Both the soba noodles and maitake mushroom tempura were very delicious. The restaurant had a high ceiling and was built like a log house, giving it a warm feel. It's not a very large facility, so It's very convenient because you only have to travel a short distance to get to the restaurant, front desk, locker room, bathroom, and cart stop. The parking is huge and free of cost. However its far from main town area like Shizuoka. Access is very inconvenient coz only few local buses runs there. You have to pay a transportation charges in two stops so make sure to bring a changes when you go there. We didn't knew about that but some how we able to manage to pay the road tax. You can also observe the canyons via ships. You have to pay some amount of yen and then you can see the rocks, oceans via ship. I ate Shuzenji pudding that I bought while walking around Shuzenji, and took a nap while listening to the sound of the river. (Translated by Google) Akakaeru Park in Shuzenji, Shizuoka Prefecture. A famous spot to see Genji fireflies. You can see Genji fireflies here. There is a biotope in the park along the Katsura River where fireflies live. From late May to mid-June, they hold an event called "Firefly Evening." Hotel guests can watch the fireflies in yukata robes. The park is lit up at night, so you can just drop by. I went there in mid-June, and blue lights were shining in the biotope. I was happy because it was my first time seeing Genji fireflies. I thought the color of their light was bluer than that of Heike fireflies. By the way, Heike fireflies emit a yellow-green light. And Heike fireflies are about half the size of Genji fireflies. The name Akakaeru Park comes from the location of the novel "Akakaeru" by the author Kensaku Shimagi. The author was inspired to write the novel when he saw a red-breasted frog trying to cross the Katsura River while recuperating at Shuzenji Onsen. This was written on a signboard in the park. Recommended for watching fireflies. You can easily see fireflies. Nestled conveniently between Izu Kogen and Shuzenji, Rokusennosato Park is a delightful destination for both dog lovers and families. This expansive park features a free dog run with varied terrain of grass, soil, and wood chips that allows your furry friends to frolic freely without the need for reservations. With benches scattered throughout the area, visitors can relax while enjoying the natural surroundings.
(Translated by Google) 12/25 I went to let my dog play on a weekday. There is a dog run, drinking facilities, and chaise lounges for your convenience. There is also a covered rest area next to the dog run. There was an area with play equipment for children to play, and a course where you could walk through the forest, making it a nice place for a wide and pleasant walk. I thought it would be beautiful during the time of flowers and autumn leaves. (Translated by Google) 🐕️OK. There is a dog run. Basically it is a natural park with just a little bit of grass and playground equipment. Because of that, only about half of the mountain path behind the playground equipment was maintained, and it was a treasure trove of ticks. I was surprised when I got home 😵 I immediately shampooed and gave it medicine. Be careful... There were more than 10 of them... From the big ones that you can only find in natural parks to the small ones that are normal size 😣😣😣 Of course they also attach to people, so I think it's better not to go in shorts or sandals that expose your bare feet 😱 (Original) 🐕️OK。

Izu. Gokurakuen Is the Hell Museum in Izu Prefecture, a beautiful seaside in Japan, revealing the fate of those who have been punished for their sin. In this Art exhibition , all hand-made 3D puppets. And depicting the Heavenly Hell according to the ancient scripture Ojo Yoshu, it was full of blood-dripping dolls that were burned. And forced to eat his own feces This book also introduces Japanese laws of karma and life after death, which is not much different from our Thai counterparts. There is even a matter of putting coins in a coffin for the dead to be used while traveling in the Hereafter, and the story of the Lord Yommarat judging merit has it too. There are copper pan, crow, black dog, and opera tree in common, and five precepts. That makes it impossible to go to hell The patriarch's family who built the museum also live in the same building. Next door Divide the time from the daily routine to educate the visitors as well. And also preserves ancient Buddha statues and rare antiques from many places

I went to hell today!! Another of the Creepy and Uncanny Museums found in Izu. This one focused on the many layers of hell and all of the tortures Inflicted upon those with evil in their hearts. From impaling to skinning, eating hot fire to being turned into mutten; there is a torture just for you! It was a very fun walk through the exhibits, reading all the lore and seeing the scene recreations. Was a fitting cap to my travels through Izu.

(Translated by Google) This is a theme park where you can contemplate the afterlife. When you enter, the first thing you hear from a staff member is about the process of reincarnation after death. The explanation is then reproduced in a detailed diorama, making for an extraordinary experience. Some people may find it scary for small children and some exhibits are grotesque, so opinions may vary, but it was actually a surprisingly enjoyable facility. There is also a treasure museum for adults. (Translated by Google) It seems to be a theme park unrelated to any shrine, temple, or religious organization. You can learn about the afterlife. I learned for the first time that there are so many different types of hell and that there are so many kings other than Enma. It was a good opportunity to not only change my everyday behavior and behaviour, but also to reflect on events like funerals and Obon, which many people tend to think of as tedious customs. There are many model exhibits so it should be easy for children to understand, but it was a wonderful facility that will resonate especially with adults. I would like to take my time and visit again. (Translated by Google) First, there's an explanation about Hell, and it seems you can't enter until you understand it. Once that's done, you're free to look around freely. Photography is allowed inside the museum, but videos are prohibited. I thought there would be a lot of Hell-related objects, but there wasn't as much as I expected. Rather than Hell being the theme, it felt like hell was being shown as part of a view of life and death. Those who are knowledgeable about Hell may find it lacking. There is also a treasure museum on the second floor, which is cheaper as a set admission fee. Here too, there were more cultural exhibits than an erotic one. There was barely any waiting time, and the guide first explained about the afterlife, after which we were taken on a tour of the afterlife. I don't usually think about or imagine the afterlife, so it was a very stimulating and educational experience. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations at first, but once inside I was hooked. The models are very realistic, so it could be traumatic for young children, but I think it would be a good idea for children in elementary school and above to visit as part of their education. I think it's a place that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders, and I'm glad I learned so much about the afterlife. There is an easy-to-understand explanation at the beginning, so you can enjoy it surprisingly well even if you go without knowing anything. It might be interesting for people with an interest in Buddhism, hell, or the afterlife.
