The San Diego Zoo is a must see on a San Diego visit! I would say it’s an all day event if you plan to see the entire zoo. I was there from 9am to 5pm! Make sure to bring your comfortable walking shoes! I would recommend taking their bus tour from the start and sitting on the to deck on the right side. You’ll see more of the attractions during the drive than the left. The bus tour is a great starting point and allows you to see a lot of the zoo and animals from a high POV! From there I recommend choosing your important must see animals and go from there! The air cable car is in the middle of the zoo and stops at the polar bear attraction so plan accordingly. Some people like to take it down at the end of their visit because you’ll end up at the entrance but there is more of a line. They do allow water bottles and food. Highly recommend drinking water as it does get hot!

Kendal and I visited the San Diego Zoo for his birthday, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Although I’m not usually a huge fan of zoos, we couldn’t pass up the chance to explore this world-famous destination and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we walked through the gates, we were surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant habitats, and some of the most beautiful animals I’ve ever seen. Every exhibit felt thoughtfully designed to give guests an up-close look while still respecting the animals’ space. We saw elephants, lions, pandas, and even a few playful monkeys who put on quite the show. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and it was clear they genuinely care about conservation and animal welfare. One of the highlights was taking the Skyfari aerial tram, which gave us a stunning view of the entire zoo… perfect for catching our breath after all that walking! Speaking of walking, this zoo is massive, so definitely wear your most comfortable shoes. We also lucked out by visiting in October, when adults pay regular admission and kids get in free, a great deal for families! Between the breathtaking exhibits, fun learning moments, and the joy on Kendal’s face the entire day, it was hands-down one of the best birthday adventures we’ve ever had. Even if you’re not a “zoo person,” the San Diego Zoo might just change your mind. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Southern California!

The San Diego Zoo is the best zoo we have ever gone to, bar none. Initially, we were put off by the high price of admission. However, we were convinced it was money well spent by the first hour we were there. All the exhibits are thoughtfully laid out and you can spend a complete day there. We had a lot of fun learning about all the different type of animals and how we can make a difference for the betterment of all creatures.

Had the best experience visiting the SD ZOO, definitely not a 1 day experience, so many beautiful animals to see. So beautiful walking thru all the green forest/bamboo. Loved the tour bus & flying thru the sky... Staff was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Able to bring in own drinks & food. Which is super helpful when bringing kids.

Very Fun place to go with family and friends Lots of awesome animals compared to other zoo’s. Location is great and heavy parking lot so theres never issues finding a spot! Lots of room even when packed. I have been several times where the park seems full but you never have issues seeing animals across the park due to the high volume. Animals seem to have really nice enclosures and don’t seem unhappy which is relieving for a zoo. Prices range from about $65 for children and adults are usually around $75. For a whole day pass this usually is pretty good price Military get in this location for free and can go anytime.

Had a fabulous time at the San Diego Zoo. One of the best zoos I have ever been to! If you plan on coming, please wear comfortable walking shoes. Took us a little over 5 hours to walk the zoo in its entirety. We went early in the day and were able to see a lot of the animals out and active. The Skyfari Aerial Tram was a wonderful bonus, didn’t get to take the bus tour but we still enjoyed our visit. Didn’t get to see the Panda, it had retreated to it napping spot by the time we got to its area. I recommend buying your tickets in advance. I bought my tickets through a 3 rd party website. Had no issues. Tickets were emailed to me and scanned at the entrance.

The kids love the zoo and so did WE. Of course these days I feel like you have to go in October because kids under 11 are free with paid adult. We were really excited about the Pandas and that was a complete bust! You can barely see them! The highlight was the horny baboon that pleasured himself right in front of us! Explain that to the kids what he is doing! Overall it was fun and you definitely get your steps in waking the park.

Belmont Park Dipper Dash 5K: The Most Fun 5K Ever! I had the pleasure of completing the Dipper Dash 5K, and it truly was the best and most fun 5K ever! What a fantastic way to celebrate Belmont Park's 100th anniversary. The course was incredibly unique, running through the park and around the iconic Giant Dipper roller coaster, plus a great section along the beach. It had a fantastic, energetic atmosphere right from the start. The post-race recovery was top-notch with treats like chocolate milk and a pizza port popup 😋! I highly recommend this race for a unique San Diego event that perfectly mixes fitness with classic amusement park fun.

We had an amazing time yesterday. Having a wristband makes it so easy to hop on rides. Not crowded either and all the staff were very nice. We were able to ride the same rides multiple times. Miniature golf is included in the bands. Will go back next week!! So fun and right by the beach.

Went here after work to walk 3 miles. The parking lot was packed but still able to find a parking spot. The beach walking path is definitely interesting! From the parking lot to Pacific Beach and back is 4 miles. Loved the bubble lady!

Great for families. The location is amazing with the beach and Mission Bay playground right there. Seeing historic rides like the Giant Dipper was a real treat. Parking is challenging, but there are plenty of public lots if you don't mind a short walk. Highly recommended!

Such amazing views of the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Easy access to the Beach. All the varieties of shops from food, merchandise, snacks, rentals and the amusement park rides is so much fun all in one place.

Don't come on the weekends! Belmont park shares same parking spot as mission beach and parking spot is hard to come by. Closing doesn't match what online say because google said it closed 7pm on the weekend but when I ask the people that work there. they said they closed 11 pm and happy hour deals on food starts 8pm and that's were night club people comes flocking in. Wouldn't recommend to buy souvenirs here, there much better deals on mission beach strip. Restroom are clean and well kept. So much activities and so busy!

We had such a great time at LEGOLAND! There are so many fun things to see and do — way more than I expected. The creativity behind all the LEGO designs and attractions is amazing, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The aquarium is definitely worth visiting — it was one of my favorite parts of the day! There’s a great variety of animals and it’s really well done. However, the park really needs better maintenance. A lot of things were dusty, faded, or missing pieces, some water features weren’t working, and a few attractions were closed. It’s still a fun experience, but I’d love to come back when everything’s fully restored and running at 100%!

We had a good time at Legoland. Parents, grandparents and a 2 1/5 year old. Place was clean and employees were nice. I gave them 3 stars because so much of the park needs maintenance. The mini city section was a big disappointment. Buttons to make things move - most did not work. Much of the display was broken and in need of repair. The map on the app was not updated and we took a long walk to avoid the construction because the app is not updated. The park was pretty much empty but on most attractions we had to walk through all of the long queues instead of just letting us skip the lines. We were also surprised that we only saw two characters out in 2 days of walking around the park. Our grandson had fun building and playing in the toddler area. The aquarium was quite a hit!

First time Vacation at Legoland! We had our 8, 7 and 3 year old and my in laws with their 3 year old. I would say that this theme park is definitely for under 10 unless your kids love more action/activities then it might not be for them. Let me say this...Lego masterpieces everywhere!!!!! Amazing how all was put together to show a little of everything. We started our Sunday with Sealife and then headed to the Brick or Treat event. Kids were dressed up and they were given small bags for candies. Now the candy stations (less than 10 stations) were in certain areas and at times a little confusing with everything that was going on. I feel like it would be nice and easier if candies were to be handed out in front of the rides but thats just me. There was no waiting times during our Sunday night. They were able to get into a few rides as well as enjoying the lego art. Monday visit was a bit more busy and humid. We waited almost 20-30 minutes for the roller coaster and the duplo train ride. Other rides were less than 10 minutes. Most rides that include parents with young children have a weight limit of 330 pounds for the seat. Luckily we were able to take turns and enjoy some rides with our boys. Like i had said previously the rides are definitely for younger kids and they only last maybe less than 2 minutes and have little to no motion. My two older boys enjoyed the roller coaster and the ride that goes up and down(its in my pictures). We did a few family group rides like the big boat ride that takes you along the lake, the duplo train, and the submarine ride. We also bought the 2 day cup and the popcorn bucket but unlike other theme parks, the freestyle machines were not everywhere so it was pointless and the popcorn bucket was only refillable at that kiosk from what we saw because we asked around a few places and those places had no popcorn. The one thing that I don't know how to take it as is at this lego car exhibit my brother in law took my boys to see the car and apparently as soon as they went in the male employee there told him- that there was nothing exciting to see and dont waste your time there and instead go on the rides- so whatever his intentions were we'll never know but my son loves hot wheels so he was interested in looking at that car. So now that I pointed out my experiences I want to say that we had fun, and a few meh moments and for us it was a one time thing. Staff was friendly in the park and hotel.

Title: Not Worth the Price — Disappointing Stay for $700 a Night I booked a fully themed “Friends” room at Legoland Hotel California to celebrate my grandchild’s birthday one November 1, 2025 for one Night. Honestly, for the $700 I paid for one night, it was not worth it. I hope this review helps anyone deciding whether to book here. The room was very small and felt extremely crowded. We were given one king bed, plus a bunk bed and a pull-out bed, which sounds great but left almost no space to move around. The furniture looked old-fashioned and worn out — some pieces were chipped, the wallpaper was scratched, and parts were even peeling off. Around 4 a.m., I tried turning on the TV, but it wasn’t working. The screen said to call the cable operator, so I contacted the front desk. They told me I had to wait until 7 a.m. for someone to come in and call the company. The room was generally clean, but it was clear that cleaning was only done on the surface — not in detail. I have asthma, and I could feel dust irritation right away. Also, please note: the photos you see online when booking are not what the rooms actually look like. The hotel’s biggest advantage is that it’s right next to the park, which is convenient, but honestly, you’re better off staying at one of the nearby hotels that offer more space and comfort — especially if you’re traveling with kids.

I had a great time at Legoland with my family! The park was full of color, creativity, and fun activities for everyone. My son absolutely loved it — from the Lego-themed rides to building his own creations, he didn’t stop smiling the whole day. The miniature Lego cities were amazing to see up close, and we all enjoyed exploring together. It was such a wonderful family day out, and we’re already talking about going back!

So fun, and also very overstimulating! 🤪 It was better and bigger than I expected. Perfect for younger kids. I saw families with kids 0-14 or so. We were there all day and did not see the whole park.

We came here mid-day on a Monday October 6, 2025. Legoland is located in sunny Carlsbad, California. There is a very big parking area and rates start from $36.00 for regular all day parking. There is even vallet parking which will cost you a pretty penny. When we arrived the lady at the front counter was informative, friendly and professional. Buy your tickets online if possible. It's way cheaper than paying at the ticket counter. Once we got through the entrance, we noticed the park is clean and well kept. The Legoland park is big. Lots to see and do. As it is October the theme park has a bunch of Halloween decorations up currently. The park is attached to the hotel resort. A single night in a hotel room will run you upwards of $300.00 or more. The rooms are based on themes. My family and I made our first stop at the Pizza and Pasta buffet having skipped breakfast and snacks and drove for over an hour on the I 5. It cost $76 for a family of three. The pizza and pasta are bottomless as well as the soda pop. After lunch we set out to see the sights. I knew the park was big but I wasn't aware how massive and spread out the property really is. I have including a pic of the park's map in this review. Too many places to name. The boat ride around miniature land is amazing and I totally recommend checking out Legoland Movie World and taking a ride on Emmet's Flying Adventure. It's basically a large screen simulator with immersive features such as spraying mist and drizzle as you and your family fly through the clouds. I would recommend coming early so you can make the most of this magical adventure. 5 stars 💫💫💫💫💫Enjoy!

This is a great place to take the kids. They many activities and obstacles for the children. We enjoyed ourselves. It did get a bit overcrowded but that may have been due to the holiday weekend. The only downside is that the Air Conditioner was not working or they don't have an HVAC system. We went for labor weekend and it was very hot and humid. No A/C or good ventilation really sucks in a 3 story building.

What a fun modern experimental children museum! My 8yo son visited the museum in the summer and we loved all the areas. Very creative place with sensorial activities, little secret nooks, tree house vibe, long slides and a beautiful circus play area that is a bit strange and weird but so beautiful. Special mention to the knitted cocoon to climb. I think the place is perfect for kids under 8yo but we had a lot of fun!

06-14-2025 I was here on Mass Creativity Day (free admission) with my nieces. Because it was a special event, they had fun activities/entertainment and food trucks also. Below are some of the activities in the museum that children can explore: -Wobbleland for children ages 4 and under, limit to 10 ppl at a time, no shoes allowed -Clay Studio, no age limit -Prismopolis where you can explore color and light in your city

You know... It was an interesting place. Was the staff friendly... Yes. Did our little ones have fun... Yes. But were there creepy paintings on the walls that seemed to not fit with a children's museum... Also, yes. Another issue we had was that most of the rooms and exhibits were in poor condition and borderline dangerous because of it. A lot of fabrics were torn and items that should have cushions were worn down. We did really enjoy the clay exhibit where our older son got to make some cool stuff. For the price... I think you would have more fun and your kids would be safer at one of the many other options in the area. My wife and I even said we could have had more fun with our kids at the park across the street. The kids loved it and interacting with the many kids there.

Got here close to opening on a Saturday morning- no wait and not super busy. There were some cool things for my two kids to do (ages 2 and 5), but I agree with other reviewers who note the dark vibes and demonic symbols ALL OVER, but especially in a few specific exhibits. WHY is that necessary for a children’s museum? I had seen the reviews and was cautious about going, but wanted to give it a shot. Several exhibits are dark- and one is flat out scary — I think even my kids were feeling the bad vibes. My kids had an okay time but I had a pit in my stomach the whole time

I love this place! So sad I hadn’t found it sooner. It has fun/ interactive things to do and see for all ages. My son is 17 months and he had a blast in each area he went to. Admission is fairly priced and is a great place to take your kids when you’ve run out of ideas!

We frequently visit the museum! My 5 year old loves exploring, the exhibits, and creating in the art studio. We always come home with a cool project… clay, maker materials, you name it they have it! If you live nearby , Membership is worth it !

Fun place to spend a few hours with kids of all ages. Everything here is hands on and interactive. A great way to pique their interest on science! There is an area designated for children under 5 that was nice to let them explore freely. 4 stars because the exhibits were somewhat worn and could use a refresh. Great place overall and great staff!

We love going to Fleet Science Center! Kid City is a favorite stop for our three year old. Even our teenager still enjoys family visits to the museum.

One of the most unique experiences ever. It was absolutely wonderful! The musicians were outstanding and loved loved loved the music. Such a beautiful ambience, truly outstanding! Worth every penny!

There’s just something magical about this place. I’ve been twice .. once with my little one and once as a chaperone for a school field trip — and both times, I left grinning ear to ear. Kids ages 3–9 will absolutely light up here! Everything is hands-on from the weather and electricity exhibits to space exploration. The Dome Theater is pure delight as it feels like stepping into a cozy, mini Las Vegas Sphere. You just lean back, look up, and let the world swirl around you. There’s even a special play zone for littles under 5, and a ball pit for the older ones (which is basically the definition of “fun meets learning”). It’s the kind of place that reminds you science is, at its heart, a grand adventure and that curiosity is contagious.

Hands foot and mouth . My child caught hands foot and mouth after our recent visit on Friday September 26th I called to inform them and they dismissed it with a single word being “okay” as a response . I highly doubt they’ll take the necessary precautions to disinfect. A team needs to be up there to disinfect every hour or so with the amount of kids who come through. Absolutely disgusting way they handled the situation .

I went on Tuesday which is free for San Diego residents to go, so took advantage of that to explore the immersive experience! I absolutley loved the display of science! A little crowded with kids under the age of 10, so beware of that😆

We are from out of state and enjoyed our experience here. We have youth children and they liked all the hands on activities of this science center. Lots of interactive experiences and 2 levels. A place to jump into balls, tactile builds, illusions and more. If you want to spend your money, I would say this is a good spot!

It's a beautiful place. Not overhyped. Most rides and attractions were operating. Relatively clean park. It is overpriced but ok if you get an annual pass and can return over and over again for a year for that price ($99-230 I think). Customer service is really not top notch when it comes to dealing with the benefits and perks for Platinum and annual card holders. Get your systems in order or choose either online or face to face only for printing cards. Food is overpriced but good. Maybe have roaming staff that helps people find their way. Get rid of those vendors that charge $5-35 per game. Clean the kiddie pard and baby coral a bit. Okay sorry for the over analysis. I love Sea World. I may spend more time than I should there and really am stating every problem I could think of. It's such a fun place and staff are really happy to be there. The animals and sea creatures seem calm and playful.

What an amazing day! We took our children for the day whilst on holiday in California. Sea world did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the whole park was immaculate and it was fairly quiet on our visit which took place on a Wednesday. No ques for the rides. Good seats for all the shows and you could easily see every animal with next to no crowds anywhere. We will 100% return on our next visit to California

This park had very friendly staff, it was clean and well maintained. The rides were fun and I enjoyed the orca and dolphin shows. It received 3⭐️for the following reasons: 1) The park was open until 7:00pm but there were quite a few attractions s that closed at 5:00 or 6:00 and at least one - the Jellyfiah - were supposed to close at 6:00 but they closed it at 5:30. There really needs to be some notification on the website when you buy tickets (not I. The fine print if it’s there at all). And it also wouldn’t be hard to put it on the app. 2) The food was exorbitantly expensive for what you received. The chicken sandwich, for example, was $18 plus tax and was a bun, chicken patty, and two pickle slices. It can with a side of fries but we’re definitely not a ‘large’ fry. Paying amusement park prices for food is expected but at least make the food worth the price. Overall I would go back but I would definitely verify the actual park hours and bring your own food if it’s allowed.

This place is amazing, the park is clean and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Only addition that would have been awesome to see on at the park is designated areas for service dogs to relieve themselves at. Like a small little tiny classy area with a small fence and gate where you can let your service dog relive themself like they have at Disney and Knott's Berry farm. Other than that the park is amazing.

I recommend buying tickets in advance. General Parking is $40 card only. No cash. Family fun, lots of things to see, you can touch different kinds of sea animals. Longest wait time for a ride was 80mins.

I was curious about Seaworld because I wanted to see the orcas. Seaworld has stopped its breeding program and the remaining orcas will be its last. I went on a Friday and the place wasn’t too crowded or busy. If you plan to come here, I would recommend visiting the attractions and checking their showtimes and plan around their shows. They don’t have a physical map and their app is a little hard to navigate with to figure out where you are in the park. They have water tanks where you are able to touch the sea creatures like the spotted shark and manta rays. They also had booths where you could purchase feeding trays for $10 to feed the creatures but they were all closed during my visit. Seaworld is quite small compared to the SD zoo and I didn’t realize but it is an amusement park with rides. You aren’t allowed to bring bags to the rides so you’ll have to rent a locker to store them or have someone hold onto it. Can’t comment on the rides since I didn’t go on any of them but being an extra change of clothes in case you get wet. The orca show lasts about 20 minutes where you’ll be able to see orcas do tricks and splash you. I would recommend getting there about 20 minutes beforehand if you want to sit in the center. They have rows labeled as “wet zone” so avoid if you don’t want to get wet. If you want a more personalized experience, I would recommend the “close up encounters” but it is quite expensive. They can range from $100-$500. We paid for a beluga whale experience that lasted about 15 minutes, where meet the whales and they allow you to touch the animals and chat with trainers. It was a nice experience especially since I wasn’t able to see them in their tanks. Overall, I would skip Seaworld if you are only here for the animals.

We visited SeaWorld San Diego with our daughters, and it was such a wonderful experience! The shows were amazing, the animals were beautiful, and there were so many fun activities for kids. Our girls had the best time they loved every moment! Everything was clean, well-organized, and the staff were very friendly. It was truly a memorable family day!

This is always a fantastic experience for kids, but the adults enjoyed it just as much. Ideally, go take the bus tour first thing when you get there. It gives you a good overview of the park, and you'll beat the crowds the rest of the day. The avian show was very entertaining and we of course learned a lot of fascinating info on the various birds and other bonus animals they brought out.

Brilliant park, expansive highly suggest getting the open air shuttle through the safari plains, getting close enough to see animals wandering or resting and great photo opportunities. Only complaint is “zoo radio” near the food which is too loud and not in keeping with a nature outdoor experience. Loved the tiger exhibit sounds! Can’t wait to see the new elephant exhibit later this year!

The San Diego zoo Safari Park. 15500 San Pascual Valley road in Escondido California. We are season ticket holders and pay $280.00 per year for two of us with free parking included. It is a magical place to view wildlife in their natural habitat. They also have lots of birds, flowers and plants. If you are up to it the paths are abundant and easy to walk. If not there is a tram which is included in the 76.00 each adult pays for a day pass. The tram is about a 40 minute adventure through the natural savanna reserve. The park is all handicapped accessible and they offer rental carts to ride around the paths inside. Parking is $17 dollars per carload. I have included some of our pictures from past visits. If Escondido is to far for you the San Diego Zoo near downtown is awesome at the same above listed prices. Membership includes two free passes you can use anytime.

What an excellent experience! So much fun! Took the deluxe Safari, which was well worth the additional cost even if you only pay for entrance into the park you will thoroughly enjoy yourself as there is so much to see and do. The animals are still abundant and the foliage is gorgeous!! We made it a day trip from Palm Springs and it was well worth the effort!

A wonderful park to visit! Animals in a natural environment, beautiful grounds full of interesting flora and fauna. We walked for three miles, many inclines so you will get some exercise! Plenty of benches though to take rests as needed. They offer hot air balloon rides and safari tours for an extra fee.

The best family day out we have ever had. The views round the park are like nothing we have ever experienced before. You can spend a whole day here easily and very good value for money. They have a hot air balloon which does cost extra but worth every penny to see the view of the whole park!

What a wonderful place! It delivered on everything it was supposed to be. A great vibe and a fun place for kids. Here are some tips that can be helpful when you’re going with kids (we had 2 under 2) •bring extra water and ur own bottle (there were barely places to refill and water bottles were $$$) •bring a double stroller! •it was VERY hot when we went and there’s not much shaded areas and LOTS of walking so bring a stroller fan, hats, sunscreen •the $20 extra fee for the priority pass for the tram is worth it if you have kids bc the line was 50 minutes long •download the safari app - it has a live feature on your phone that helps you plan the day and directions to sites. So much better than walking around aimlessly! We saw all the animals and went on the Africa tram. But my highlights were: *elephant viewing inside the herb garden (you have to go in the herb garden to see them. It’s like a hidden hideaway right next to the campground area) *the atrium. These were so beautiful and calming. Highly rec This place is HUGE. Lots of walking and hills. So wear comfy shoes and clothes and bring all the things you need. Enjoy!!

I loved this place. Totally random visit, not planned at all. Was in SD for a week and on the last day we decided to visit on a whim. We went mid afternoon around 12:30 left around 4 and didn’t get to finish. Wish we could have stayed longer but had to leave. Would definitely go back! So many things to read and hear and conversations with employees to have. Got to meet a gentleman who lived and navigated the ship over 60 years ago! Even if you don’t care at all about this type of environment I assure you you will have a good time.

My wife and I spent several hours at the USS Midway Museum and were completely blown away. We expected a standard museum, but the sheer size, sophistication, and design of this legendary aircraft carrier turned our visit into an unforgettable and immersive experience. It was fascinating to see the crew's living quarters and truly grasp how different life was aboard a ship of this scale. You get an eye-opening perspective of what sailors experienced daily, which was especially meaningful for me as it provided so much context for my cousin's work in the Coast Guard. It's one thing to hear stories, but stepping into their world really brings it to life. What makes this museum so special is the staff. The volunteers are absolutely amazing. Their passion is contagious, and the information they shared with us was incredible. These former veterans and service members care so much and are genuinely friendly, answering all our questions with a personal touch that you just can't get anywhere else. The museum's thoughtful design and interactive elements make it fun for everyone. We were so absorbed that we ran out of time before seeing everything. We were delighted to find out that they offer a free ticket to return the next day so you can finish exploring. What a fantastic and generous policy that shows they truly want visitors to have the full experience. A visit to the USS Midway is a must-do in San Diego—it's enriching, exciting, and an experience you'll be talking about for years!

Let me start by saying I do not like museums. I LOVE this museum. I also love that they hire people and procure volunteers that are veterans so you obtain knowledge from the source. I loved their personal stories, hearing of their experiences overseas and of the carrier. I wish we had more time. The tour said 4 hours to complete. We had four hours. I wish I had four more, but we had a plane to catch. I would advise to download the parking app to pay over phone because I had to extend our time twice. I would say to stop by the Verizon table to pick up the audio tour guide that you tap at every station. Bring a water but if you forget there are vending machines and a diner on the carrier. Stop by the gift shop for memorabilia. Take the tour of the captains quarters, see if you have what it takes to be military intelligence, and tour the upper levels which requires ladder climbing so comfy tie up shoes is wise. Please come and listen to our service men and women that dedicated their lives to protect our country. They have wonderful stories to share. This museum is highly recommended.

Amazing amazing amazing!!! We visited the USS Pampanito years ago in SF and it was awesome! So we were definitely excited to see this one. Love that it gives us a small glimpse into what these guys had and went through because only they know what they saw and what they did during their time there. We walked through almost 90% of the ship but because we had our 3 younger boys we weren't able to finish the top portion. They do have a little quiz for the kids which consists of 6 questions they need to answer along the tour and at the end they get a pilot wings pin which is cute and cool. Definitely a must if you're visiting in the area. Beautiful views and the weather was perfect. During October kids do get in for free so get that deal and also I saw online that that EBT holders can get in for free(up to 4 people), its the Museum for All program so whatever the case go and visit!

Everything about this experience is just amazing. The USS Midway Museum is an incredible experience that brings naval history to life! Walking around this massive aircraft carrier, you really get a sense of what it was like to live and work at sea. The flight deck is a highlight, packed with different aircraft and offering stunning views of the San Diego skyline. You can explore the ship's interior, from the sleeping quarters to the engine room, and imagine the daily routines of the crew. The docents, many of whom served on the Midway, share fascinating stories and insights that make the history even more engaging. Overall, the USS Midway Museum is educational, interactive, and a memorable adventure for anyone interested in naval aviation and maritime history. It’s a must-see if you’re in San Diego!

That was amazing. It totally worth the price. We spent 3 hours there. If you came late, don’t waste your money, find another time to come. The explanation was clear and friendly. Lots of interesting exhibitions. We took some photos for the weather. All the staff were really kind except one guy. The under deck exhibition closed 10 minutes before 5 pm, the staff didn’t tell me when I am walking around but suddenly flipped the board and said the entrance was closed in a unfriendly way.

I went there for a company hiking event. Many of the people had not been to the monument in the past so we explored the museum, the vistas, the lighthouse, and all the trails we could. We didn’t get to hear any of the doses talk about the history, but we read a lot of the information inside the museum. The weather was perfect. It was in the low 70s and there was a good cloud cover for most of the time. The parking lot is very large and can accommodate any size vehicle. The area at the monument is very large also and can accommodate a good number of people. There’s accessible parking and good way finding signage to get to each of the destinations. Our favorite part was all the trail system that we did a trail run on. Being able to see the Bayside and the beach side of the point was a really special thing. The new trail that was installed that went down to the tide. Pools was really well laid out and was not that difficult. I encourage you to bring water and snacks to enjoy on the trail and then a lunch to enjoy after your time in the parking lot or on one of the many benches along the trailsor in the park area. Make sure to take advantage of all the different areas within the park.

Incredible national park! Been here a few times even though I am not a local/Californian. Such variety to offer: great history, tidepools, great gift shop, junior ranger, lighthouse, and views of the city. Always great weather, with a nice breeze. Park film informational as well. You can often times see naval ships leaving nearby navy base as well. You will not be disappointed. Also of note is the nearby Rosecrans national cemetery. Amazing stuff there as well. The NP does require a fee, parking is plentiful, and bathrooms are great.

this was the first trail i walked in the state of california so the experience was amazing! the trail was long and one stretch of downhill/uphill walking so good shoes and water are a necessity! The view is unmatched and each step brings a new angle of the natural beauty!

Great location to soak in the pacific views and ocean breeze. You will need to go through a military installation to get here. Park rangers were super friendly and helpful. The ticket to get in is valid for 7 days. Walk in with a bike was $10.

This place is beautiful!!! We couldn't find the tide pools even though we were in the tide pool area so maybe high tide idk? But the views are amazing , the people were super nice, the visitor shop is also super cute!! Alot of history here, and beautiful hiking trails. A must see! If you have a military ID and or your America The Beautiful pass it's free :)

Well kept. Beautiful views of the Pacific Oceon. A must-see when in San Diego. I’ve been here three times and love taking in the breathtaking views. Fun to climb the steps in the lighthouse. Great watching the sailboats. Also great watching the military ships and aircraft. Go Navy!

This is a "must visit" when you are in the area. Wonderful Visitor Center with helpful staff. Best views of the San Diego Bay! If you have a Handicap ♿ hangtag, be sure to ask where you can go up the hill closer to the lighthouse. There are 2 HC parking spots up there as well as in the parking lot. Entry fee is $20 to the memorial.

We enjoyed the gardens with what little time we had. We, unknowingly, purchased tickets 1 hour before closing. We would have appreciated a warning from the associate that we had 1 hour left. We should have done our research, but this was an impromptu visit. Surprisingly, tickets are full price whether you have all day or 1 hour. We will possibly visit again, with plenty of time to enjoy the whole gardens.

Another fun weekend activity with our son during our San Diego visit! The San Diego Botanical Garden may be small, but it’s packed with plants from all over the world. We especially enjoyed the South African section — very unique species you don’t see every day — and the fun “plant mariachi band” in the Mexican garden made us smile. They even had a magic show for the kids, which was a nice surprise. For those who love gardening, there are plants available for sale too. The bamboo garden was another highlight — really interesting to see how different types of bamboo grow. Overall, a cool and relaxing visit surrounded by nature.

Amazing gardens situated not far from the coast. You can see the Pacific from an observation tower at the back of the gardens. These gardens are not as big as the Golden State Park gardens but the San Diego Botanic Garden has a large variety of ecospaces packed into it. The bamboo forest is amazing. Make sure you go through it. The plants attract a variety of animals including monarchs in the butterfly garden. The hummingbirds are found throughout, and the pond is a delightful place to see water plants and turtles. Some of the garden's standouts are olive trees, cork trees, and an artistic Mexican fiesta garden.

I expected so more from a botanical garden. It's in desperate need of a face lift. Half of the plants didn't have signs letting you know what they were. And the signs they do have are faded, tiny and really hard to read. It seems like there is a serious lack of plant maintenance. There were some really beautiful areas though, like the lily pond. And it was a nice place for a peaceful morning stroll. Be advised they do not accept cash, only credit cards.

Calling all the plant lovers! this is a really cool spot! Way bigger than I expected and super relaxing to walk through. The bamboo garden was definitely my favorite — super peaceful and felt like its own little world. The rainforest section was awesome too, with all the greenery and little paths winding through it. Perfect place to just stroll and chill for a bit. Would totally go back.

We had a lovely time visiting the garden there were lots of paths and neat areas to explore. It was hot the day we visited but found shady places to cool down. The succulent statues were our our favorite!

An awesome array of plants to see. Unfortunately many of the signs seem to have been removed from the children's areas. Additionally, the layout and map were rather confusing. Thankfully they have printed maps at major intersections with ideolocators (the 'you are here' mark)

Visited with 5 adults on a Saturday afternoon during a Pride Parade, and it still was not too crowded. Felt the price of admission (about $25/adult) was worth the value and experience for all you get to see and learn. About 5 floors (including basement) with dedicated areas to different species. Gift shop and restrooms.

Friendly docents, incredible specimens and collections. Great for us - a couple of history lovers - but also for kids! Lots to see and touch and explore! Check out the gift shop for some beautiful sustainable trinkets and souvenirs.

Nice little natural history museum. The museum focuses on taxidermied animals, but it has a few nice dinosaur exhibits. I was impressed by their living reptile exhibits. As of 10/2025, the museum is under construction and tickets are half-priced.

Despite there being construction going on, it was still an excellent place to visit. The exhibits go through a wide range of topics, including some live animal displays, prehistoric period, modern threats to species, and science behind some of this. Very cool stuff. I strongly recommend checking it out.

We enjoy going to the San Diego Natural History Museum as a family! One of the best places to spend a rainy morning in San Diego. We short films are great and we always love visiting their snakes, lizards and ants.

This is the perfect spot for kids and grownups alike! There is so much to see and plenty of hands on exhibits. The docents were friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite part was the Amazement in the Basement. I enjoyed watching them work!

A must-visit! Amazing fossils, engaging exhibits, and tons to explore for all ages. The dinosaur section is a highlight. Perfect mix of education and fun in the heart of Balboa Park.

Seaport Village is a great place to visit. Take a stroll down the boardwalk it has lots of nice views of San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bridge. Lots of concrete walkways wind through the village. Lots of shops and great food and ice cream for the kids! The USS Midway Museum is very close to Seaport Village. Many different things to see in this area from the Gaslamp quarters, the Convention Center and Petco Park all very close by within walking distance from each other. I was very impressed with all the shops and great food and wonderful atmosphere. Alot of people smiling and saying hello to each other. This place is fun for all ages!

The USS Midway Museum is an absolute must-visit when you’re in San Diego! It’s such a fascinating place filled with history, and walking through the ship really gives you a glimpse into what life was like for sailors on board. There’s so much to explore from the flight deck to the engine room and you can easily spend hours here. I recommend starting your visit from the 41 Deck up to down, as the upper deck (Flight Deck) closes earlier at 4:30 PM. You definitely don’t want to miss it because the view and the aircraft displays up there are incredible! The volunteers and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to share stories and answer questions. It’s a fun and educational experience for all ages truly one of the highlights of my San Diego trip!

My daily running path runs through SV. I love to stop for some water or coffee and take it in. You can really feel the soul and pulse of the city right there. I'm usually there early mornings and it's so beautiful. Night time is magical too. I'm so grateful the city built amazing places to run

It’s been years since I last visited Seaport Village. I recently stopped by with my cousin, who was visiting California. I thought I would take her to some of the places I used to frequent during my childhood. I still remember when the buildings used to look more brown. It has a more appealing look with its white paint. Against the blue skies, it just looks more attractive. It still has that charm that I remember. I remember walking along the walkway between the shops and bay. These used to be a wall of boulders and stones that separated the walkway from the waters. It’s now cemented for a polished white wall. The large fountain that I remember is still there. It still looks maintained and the restrooms are clean. There is a fee to park at Seaport Village. Overall, Seaport Village is a nice spot that’s calm and has a relaxing vibe with a view of the bay - and, if you’re lucky, you’ll spot some naval ships pass by.

For food, Louisiana Charlie’s is absolutely delicious and always hits the spot, and just across the way, Broadys house of flavors is a must for a sweet treat.

La Jolla Cove absolutely stole my heart! My son and I made it our morning ritual to visit the sea lions every day during our stay, and it quickly became the highlight of our trip. We would sit there for hours, just soaking in the beauty of nature and the sounds of the waves, the sea breeze, and the playful calls of the sea lions echoing across the cove. There’s something so peaceful and grounding about being there; it felt like time slowed down. The view is simply breathtaking, especially in the morning when the mist rolls in over the water. Every day was a little different: some mornings the sea lions were full of energy, barking and diving through the waves, while other days they were sprawled out like total beach bums, sunbathing without a care in the world. On weekends, it does get busier with tourists, but I didn’t mind at all. It made for great people-watching and added a fun, lively energy to the peaceful setting. The location itself is perfect… close to everything yet still feels like a hidden gem of natural beauty. If you visit San Diego, you must experience La Jolla Cove. It’s pure magic, a place where you can truly connect with nature and make memories that stay with you long after you leave.

La Jolla is a California dream—stunning ocean views, plenty of walking, and tons of spots for coffee, food, or dessert. Restrooms are right by the sea lions’ beach, and while parking can be tricky, nearby garages make it doable. Perfect for a day of exploring and soaking in the scenery!

Beautiful panoramic view of beach and shore. Lots of animals and birds to watch. Very cool and breezy at times. Parking is difficult so be prepared to park little far from this place.

Pretty great place to see birds and sea lions with an epic backdrop (if you can get over the smell) I saw a Brant’s Cormorant there and many more birds I will put pictures of below. Definitely should check it out. The sea lions and birds are so abundant and it is such a unique seen. You can park anywhere or walk if you are staying in La Jolla. Enjoy the photographs.

La Jolla Cove is an awesome place to visit near San Diego. It is just a short drive outside of the city and offers some beautiful coastline scenery and marine life. There were multiple sea lions and birds to see and it is a great experience.

should be on the list if visiting sandieog. dream for surfers. they have tours that do surfing and snorkeling. rental equipments available too. parking is very limited and always busy. we had to stroll around for 15min to get parking spot on Wednesday morning, though we got free parking for 3hours. plan your visit either early morning or evening to watch sunrise/sunset as it's picturesque. unfortunately we realized this once we visited it.

One of my favourite ball parks that we have been coming to for over 10 years. Amazing views of the city and lots of good options for food and drink. Came for a Padres v Dodgers Friday night game this time and it didn’t disappoint. The small wine place across from the Lexus Lounge was great. Very easy to get served, which was a challenge in the lounge itself. Friday night games are the best as the crowd is loud and engaged. Padres fans are have always been friendly when we visit and everyone had a nice time.

Great park. Been to like 40 different baseball parks (current and retired ones). This is one of the best! Amazing setting. Great views of the city. Interesting features inside like the Padres HOF. They were having Hispanic Heritage weekend when I went in late September. Definite playoff vibe as well with Mariachi band (they played the national anthem - never heard that before) and Latina dancers and sitting room seats in outfield. Super fun.

This has to be one of the better MLB stadiums I have been to. It was easy to get to and find parking for. The employees were friendly and nice, and it was fun seeing the fans get into the game and cheer for the Padres. The food in and around the stadium were also good. I look forward to being able to come back to see another MLB game here when I'm able to.

This review is all about Petco Park itself, not the Padres—though I’ll always bleed blue for my team! This stadium easily ranks in my top four. The views, the electric vibe, and the food make it a standout. The highlight? The famous Seaside Market Tri-Tip Nachos (aka Cardiff Crack nachos). These are an absolute must-try—loaded with juicy, slow-smoked tri-tip, nacho cheese, BBQ sauce, sour cream, and green onions. They’re so YUM, even a traditionalist like me, who lives for ballpark hot dogs, happily deviates for these. Trust me, they’re worth it! Escaping triple-digit Arizona heat for a game at Petco each season is a highlight. The back-and-forth rivalry cheers in the stands create an unmatched atmosphere. From the stunning views to the incredible food, Petco Park delivers an unforgettable baseball experience. Can’t wait to return next season!

Great stadium, fantastic area, great staff and service, and had a great time! I got the steak nachos, which were fine, but could have used hot sauce or salsa. One bottle of soda was $7…pricey. Great viewing area with large screen!

Baseball Heaven With Better Weather” Petco Park instantly became one of my all-time favorite ballparks — and I’ve dragged my family to a lot of stadiums, so that’s saying something. From the second you walk in, it feels more like a baseball resort than a stadium. Great energy, great sightlines, and easily the best weather you will ever watch baseball in. I mean, look at the sunset pic — you could frame that thing and pretend you’re a Padres season-ticket legend. Our seats near left field gave us a perfect view of batting practice, and the crowd was fun without being chaotic. Padres fans are passionate, but in a “we’ll cheer, then go surf after this” kind of way. Zero hostility, 100% California chill. The stadium itself is beautiful — modern, clean, wide open, and surrounded by the skyline. Even the concourses feel like you’re walking through a high-end outdoor mall. And the Tony Gwynn statue? Absolute must-see. “Mr. Padre” deserves every bit of that spotlight. Bonus points: we stayed in a hotel overlooking the park, and waking up to Petco Park outside the window is the closest I will ever get to living the MLB life. If you’re knocking ballparks off your list, Petco Park is a top-three, no-question stop. San Diego does baseball right.

9/6/25 Parking is a zoo so come early for dinner and so you can check out the merchandise. On Saturday, we parked at the Hard Rock Hotel and paid @$90 for valet plus tip. The park is clean and has lots of meal options. The people who worked there were friendly and helpful. I didn't have to wait in line for a bathroom! So nice! I'd suggest hanging out for a bit because there is so much traffic after the event, no need to rush. Overall, a good experience. I'd bring my comfy walking shoes because you'll be walking to get there and up lots of stairs. (There are elevators.) Pro tips- don't get the mixed drinks, stick with the beer on level 1. I had the rum and pineapple juice drink and it was watery. Also, make sure to have a plastic bag.

Wow! We did the museum tour and added the boat ride for $10. This seriously was the highlight of our trip! The ships available to tour are very cool and the docents were friendly, knowledgeable and were happy to share the depth of their knowledge. Kiki was our tour guide on the boat ride. She is filled with knowledge and stories and spoke the whole ride. She was real and entertaining and her passion for learning, about everything, was clearly evident. Please don't hesitate to go to the Maritime Museum and add the boat trip. Hopefully Kiki will be your tour guide too! Incredible!

I loved the variety of things to see, riding on the boat and information shared about the development of the harbor from the docent. The kids loved the ability to touch and feel the real ropes, to go down below in the Star of India! Was a nice experience that was not outrageously priced! Worth every penny.

Very immersible and interactive! My 7 year old loves being able to board ships from old times past and learning the history of each one. There were tour guides along the way as well that were very knowledgeable and helped assist with the education of each vessel. I would also like to note that if you have an EBT card and an ID your ticket would only be $5! It is well worth it regardless. We will definitely be back again.

Fun museum. Good ship selection. Not too busy, easy to navigate. $50-60 for two adults. It is a self navigating tour to see historical ships, and a submarine.

Such a fun experience for the whole family! Our littles had a blast “ghost hunting” and there was so much more to do and see for so little money! Can’t recommend the experience enough if you have a few hours to spend in San Diego

We toured The Berkeley and The Star of India. We spent about an hour looking around. Great history to check out. The ships are beautiful inside, lovely craftsmanship. I really enjoyed the upper area of the Berkeley, it is a large "waiting" room. There are bathrooms on the ships. We purchased tickets in advance, but, you can buy them there. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon (one pm-ish) and it wasn't very busy. We had parked next to the USS Midway earlier in the morning and walked over. We ran out of energy, so we didn't get to all the ships there. Definitely check the ships out.

This hike was amazing! 🌊 The entry fee was $20, and we drove all the way up to the top parking lot to start the West Overlook Trail (about 3 miles). The beginning was mostly downhill with incredible ocean views and cool lookout spots. The way back is uphill, so it’s definitely a workout—but worth it. I highly recommend wearing good shoes and bringing plenty of water, especially if you’re hiking midday.

Breathtakingly beautiful and serene! The mountains on one side and the ocean on the other side makes it even more scenic. So many beautiful trails leading to the peaks where you can watch the sunset or sunrise in the most spectacular views. I loved going here and will come back again and again! Hands down 5 star!

Beautiful beach, lot of trails - easy to moderate. Great views. I ended up doing many easy ones just for the views. Some trails can get very crowded and you may not enjoy the experience. Best solution is to go at your own pace and let the stream of people pass!! My best decision was to walk back along the beach after completing the trails. That was more adventurous and thrilling!!

Came here on a Friday afternoon late September. $20 day use fee. Did my hikes from the parking lot across the road from the visitor center. Good amount of parking. I could see it being an issue on really busy days. Porta potties there with hand washing stations. Pretty clean porta potties that didnt smell too bad. Decently warm day but there was a breeze most of the time making it pleasant most of the time. Hiked to Red Butte, Razor Point, Yuma Overlook, and the beach. Took a bit more than an hour including meditation and picture time. Downhill mostly to beach then back uphill to parking lot. Mostly gentle. Nothing too crazy. I am a middle aged guy that sits at a computer working everyday for most of the day and have some mild asthma and still did just fine. Amazing stuff. Although there were plenty of people there, there were still quiet times to enjoy the ambiance and sounds and meditate. Scenery is unreal, and the trails are well marked. Pictures I attach do speak a thousand words and display the incredible scenery. Got my beloved souvenir patch and postcards at the VC, which has no bathrooms or water for water bottle. Highly recommended. I posted lots of pics because this place deserves it.

A stunning place to hike in San Diego! You’ll see animals, geology, gorgeous ocean views, and our famous Torrey Pines. With parking lots both at beach level and on the cliffs, there are many options to start your hikes. There are numerous trails which intersect, so you can meander and never get lost. Whether you want an easy walk or a challenging hillside hike, you’ll find one here. This is a state park and admission at the time of this review was $20 per car. You can park on Torrey Pines Road for free if you can find a spot and walk in. We visited on a Sunday and arrived around 12 o’clock, so it was busy there was still still parking available. When we left at 1:30 it was much emptier, so mornings are definitely the busier time to go. I HIGHLY recommend Torrey pines for sightseeing and hiking. It’s the epitome of natural San Diego!

Fantastic place to walk, hike, jog or run. There is something for everyone. The trails can be narrow in some places and there are some steep areas, but those may have steps. It's so vast that I may have only passed fewer than 25 people in the hour I was there.

This is a must-do in San Diego. As a local, it has the most beautiful views and great hikes. For cyclists, going up Torrey Pines is a right of passage. Not for the faint of heart. Parking can be a bit challenging during the summer but it’s totally worth it. The best sunsets in San San Diego. Bring a picnic or a burrito from Roberto’s which is right around the corner and enjoy the nature!

Good, not great. If you are considering this museum and haven't visited USS Midway, just go to Midway. It is much bigger and better experience. If you have, I would still only come here as a big plane enthusiast. Just walking through without too much attention will take you about 30-minutes, probably not worth your money.

Amazing place full of history. Old to modern. Turned out way better than i thought. Spent almost 3 hrs there. Definitely go back. Fun for tge whole family.

right when you walk in there was a man who was eager to share his knowledge about all the exhibits. super friendly guy. i like how the layout takes you on a journey through the decades and there was so many interactive pieces that are fun for children and even adults. towards the end theres 2 types of simulation games, one on the computer and one in a pod. it cost 10 per person to play for 5 minutes. worth it. i was worried about parking but i came at 11am on a sunday and there were only 3 cars in the huge parking lot, we parked super far in fear of not finding good parking but even then, the walk was nice and the tram is always running. you can buy tickets online or at the counter when you walk in.

The San Diego Air and Space Museum is a cool museum with a wide variety of aircrafts and jets as well as different exhibits. It's decently large and there is plenty to see. Highly recommend if you like aviation and visiting Balboa Park.

The San Diego Air & Space Museum is a great experience in Balboa Park. It’s good for all ages. Genuine aviation enthusiasts will find it a treasure of air and space information with actual icons. Families with kids will find it very entertaining with lots of kid friendly activities. The parking is free. The ticket prices have escalated over time. Plan to spend a minimum of an hour to walk-through. You could spend half a day here. This is one of the treasures of San Diego. Don’t miss spending time here.

If you’re interested in US aviation history, this is a great place to see some of the replicas. I really liked the first 4D movie on the moon and I love the Da Vinci exhibit on flight.

Interesting experience, recommended more for younger children than adults. It was pretty interesting going inside Project Mercury and seeing how cramped it was in there for me. Also using the space shuttle simulator and trying to land it without veering off course or crashing it into the ground. A lot harder than it looks.

It was pretty cool. Didn't plan on going here, but was just walking around the park and realized there's a model train museum. Although it's relatively small, it offers a really enjoyable experience. If you're into miniatures like I am, you could easily spend up to an hour admiring the details. Definitely worth a quick visit if you're in the area. Not too expensive to visit.

We had such a fun time here when we took my father-in-law, a lifelong train enthusiast, who was visiting us from another state. I was blown away by how large this place actually is and the detail that went into recreating all of the scenery. The trains weave in and out of tunnels, across bridges, and there are so many fun miniscule details in each of the scenes that make you smile or laugh (pigeons on a rooftop, prairie dogs in a field, a car accident, a wedding ceremony, etc.). They also had a couple of spots that were themed for the upcoming Halloween. Highly recommend for people of all ages!! It's underrated and surprisingly awesome.

Took a short trip to San Diego. We love to visit the Model Railroad Museum in Balboa Park and enjoyed spending a least a few hours with the trains and layouts. Spanning over 27,000 square feet of trains, trestles, and tracks, there is natural beauty framed by the majestic backdrop of Balboa Park. The San Diego Model Railroad Museum is a space where imagination is beautifully engineered. It also features both indoor and outdoor exhibits and programming for all ages. The gift shop is right next to the entrance and have some great t shirts and novelty train items. The people working there are happy and always will help you with any questions or must sees (HO Gauge Wooden Bridge) there are stairs leading down to the exhibit and I heard there is wheelchair access also. upstairs is a great coffee bar which is open depending on day.

Walking through the museum feels like stepping into little worlds built with a ton of care. The train layouts stretch across whole rooms, with tiny towns, bridges, and mountain passes that look almost real in miniature. Kids get a kick out of watching the trains roll through tunnels and over tracks, and adults end up lingering too because there is so much detail packed into every scene. It is not the flashiest place in Balboa Park but it has a charm that makes it easy to spend an afternoon here. Some displays show their age, but the effort and passion behind them is clear and that makes the visit worthwhile. It is a good stop if you are into trains, history, or just want something a little different from the bigger attractions in the park.

A hidden gem in Balboa Park! The San Diego Model Railroad Museum is full of detailed, impressive layouts. Great for all ages—fun, nostalgic, and surprisingly relaxing. A must-see for train lovers.

Kids love to see all the trains and look for the “find” items. Adults will find this interesting and fun too. Takes about 2hrs to go through or longer if you really love seeing how it is all put together. We’ve been there several times. Right in Balboa Park which is always great to walk around in too.

I want to preface that I loved the ER doctor, Dr. Jon Ludwig, who was on call that night 5/08/25. He was humble, validated the chronic problems I was experiencing for a while now, and he seemed like a genuinely good guy! But I absolutely hated the ER nursing staff there on 5/08/25, at least the ones I directly interacted with. They were rude, unhelpful, unprofessional and immature. I was right next to the nursing station from my room and I could see them during the 5+ hours I was there. They spent majority of the time gossiping about patients or going on their phones and sitting down to chit chat with each other. Only 1 of the nurses I saw there that night would get up frequently to check on their patients. Worst experience I’ve had with a nursing staff. Two of the nurses I had assigned to me (WHO ARE SHOWN IN THE PHOTO BELOW. THEY SPENT MAJORITY OF THEIR SHIFT IN THAT POSITION, SITTING DOWN, GOSSIPING, SCROLLING ON THEIR PHONES & WERE INCREDIBLY RUDE WHEN YOU TALKED TO THEM). I don’t know if they were having a bad day or were just lazy. Interacting with them and seeing what they did felt like the equivalent of dealing with mean high schoolers. They clearly seem to be in this field for the paycheck and nothing else. They do not care about their patients. They left my labs on the table for several hours before remembering to send them in. Which at the time didn’t bother me, but their bad, catty attitudes and laziness gave me reason to never want to come to this ER again. Rolling their eyes, clearly not wanting to do their job, even the bare minimum seemed to get them upset, getting frustrated at me when I winced at the pain from their poorly done IV insertion (MIND YOU THIS NURSE WAS NOT WEARING GLOVES EITHER). Proceeded to grab my arm and move it back and forth roughly and said it “Look you’re fine”. And when they went back to the nursing station, I could hear them complaining to their coworker and saying, “I was making a big deal out of it” (for simply wincing). The nurses I had belittled me for wanting a few clarifications about what procedures they were doing to me. Some of the worst patient care I’ve seen from nurses and this is coming from a healthcare worker. It’s a shame because the doctor was kind, competent, well informed, and he listened and addressed many of my concerns. The radiology tech who transferred me to get my CT scan had a great attitude too. I wish I got her name. But she had red hair and was really sweet, her, the other radiology tech there that night and Dr. Ludwig there made the experience I had there a little better!

As a healthcare provider with 13 years in nursing and a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2012, I was deeply disappointed with my same-day surgery experience at Scripps Mercy Hospital. From the moment I arrived, the outpatient surgical center and waiting area felt unwelcoming, outdated, and lacking even basic amenities like water, coffee, or a vending machine. It was uncomfortable for my family and far from what a patient-focused environment should be. In pre-op, my nurse Tonya was outstanding, and both Dr. Hui (surgeon) and Dr. Hany Rayan (anesthesiologist) clearly explained the procedure and post-op expectations. I informed the team of my history with post-anesthesia nausea, vomiting, and shivering. They acknowledged these concerns and said they’d take preventive steps, which I appreciated. However, post-op was traumatizing. I couldn’t thermoregulate and experienced intense sweating, dizziness, and sedation so profound that I couldn't communicate beyond one-word responses. I panicked internally, convinced my temperature was dangerously high, but I couldn't speak. I recall being covered with ice packs by my nurse, who was excellent at reading my nonverbal cues. I believe I was given multiple doses of morphine, though I wasn’t informed of the specifics. Thankfully, my pain was managed, and I didn’t vomit. Despite being told I’d be discharged 1–2 hours after surgery, I wasn’t released until nearly 5 PM, and neither Dr. Hui nor Dr. Rayan checked on me in post-op. Upon discharge, I was still heavily sedated. My husband was shocked at my condition. There was no follow-up call the next day—nor at any point in the 10 days following surgery—from the surgical center, Dr. Hui, or Dr. Rayan. That lack of basic follow-up was appalling. When I checked my Scripps portal, the anesthesiologist's discharge note falsely claimed I was fully participating and that my vitals, including temperature, were normal—completely contradicting my condition. It read like a generic, copied template. I spent the night after surgery sweating profusely and changing soaked sheets. Fortunately, the worst symptoms eased by the next day. While I’m thankful they could accommodate my surgery quickly, I will not return to Scripps Mercy. The waiting room was grimy and uncomfortable, I was discharged in an unsafe state, and I received no follow-up care. If not for the pre-op and post-op nurses, this experience would have been far worse. Sadly, I cannot recommend this facility to others. Follow up: they said to reach out a week ago, I did promptly, and never heard back. Rating went down to a 1 Star.

From Oregon, stuck in San Diego for the moment and brought my wife here because she is 12 weeks pregnant. Aside from the case manager, Angelina who was great. The front desk and initial check in nurse were extremely rude to her. Basically told her situation wasn't an emergency. The doctors completely blew us off and set us up an appointment at a clinic they knew wouldn't take our Oregon insurance but gave us emergency insurance that also, ISN'T ACCEPTED AT A CLINIC. I ended up taking her to Sharp Hospital and guess what, my wife has a hemerage in which could have caused a miscarriage and this could've been found out 2 days before hand if Scripps Hospital doctors didn't completely disregard us in the first place. Also, we were checked in well before a few other patients but those patients whom were laughing and smiling and clearly weren't pregnant or in any dire emergency situation got attended to first. This hospital is horrible. The staff is stuck up. Heard nurses and doctors joking about other patients complaints and conditions. They did absolutely nothing for my pregnant wife. Do better.

Sent my father home with the wrong catheter. They sent him home with a medical box attachment which meant my father could not change his pants until his follow up appointment. Did not show us how the catheter works or how to empty it or change it. We had to have a friend come over who is an EMT to assist with the basics that the hospital was supposed to handle. Didn't give a good enough explanation on his diagnosis. Would not keep him an extra night. Said he was "sound of mind" with a blood sugar level of 289. Released him with a blood sugar level of 302. Would not listen to me about where he lives and the capacity in which he could get medical services. Treated me like someone who isn't his son (which i am his son). I have legal medical power of attorney which they COMPLETELY ignored. The worst facility I've ever had to deal with and, honestly would rather take my chances surviving a medical emergency on the streets than with this group of half trained, no sense or responsibility doctors and nurses.

I’m writing this review because of an experience that still sticks with me. For context, I’m a recovering addict and have been sober for over 6 years now. When I came to Scripps Mercy, the staff at check-in were actually kind and helpful, and I really appreciated that. The problem was once I got into my room. I had been waiting for quite a while with no assistance, so I asked a doctor (an Asian gentleman) if he could help me. I don’t remember if it was for trouble breathing or in pain, but I do remember his response clearly it was dismissive and hurtful. He told me, “I’m not going to help you, I’m not giving you drugs.” That moment broke me. I wasn’t there looking for drugs I was there because I needed real medical care. To be brushed off and stereotyped like that was painful and humiliating. I ended up leaving in tears. The one bright spot was the support I received from a woman working there who was also helping me in my sobriety journey. Without her, I don’t know if I’d be here today, and I’ll always be grateful for her kindness. Because of her and the check-in staff, I didn’t give this review one star. But the way I was treated by that doctor is something I can’t forget. Patients especially those in recovery deserve compassion, not judgment.

The worst experience I've ever had at a hospital. I asked a nurse for help and 3 of them just stared at me from the desk, I was standing in front of my room and she said what room are you in, I pointed at it and she says "well I dont know what room that is" with a bad attitude. I went out to the desk to ask for assistance and with raising the bed for the teen girl i brought in from a youth conference, we are from Wisconsinso im not familiar with this hospital, i was told to use the buttons, i told them it does not work, she came in to find out it wasnt plugged in and was rude like i was supposed to know this and plug it in myself. The Teen girl I brought here had no energy to go to the bathroom and was weak and shaky, the nurse acted like they didnt want to touch her and told me to help her, it made me very nervous. The nurse told me "well a capable 16 yrar old should be able to walk to the bathrooom on her own". I was going to use the public restroom but there was blood dripping on the toilet lid, i told a staff lady and she kept walking and told me to tell someone at the desk - as she walked right past the desk, by then i was afraid to approach the front desk nurses. The lady in the room next to me called out for a nurse for 10 minutes and they ignored her. We have been in the room for hours with absolutely no updates. I asked the address so I could call an Uber, the nurse was trying to tell me and the younger nurse interrupted and i couldnt hear her. When i got back to the room the nurses laughed and one said "apparently everything i do is annoying". Very unprofessional and immature. Its sad. "I do want to say the 2 doctos were very nice, it was the other staff that were not compassionate, kind, or helpful. I felt absolutely embarrassed by the staff. I hope administration sees this and does something about it as other reviews i see on this hospital have had the same experiences.

Very poor ER experience. We are not from San Diego and this was the closest hospital to where we were staying. The check-in process was quick, but after that it became radio silence for three hours, with only two people being called in during the entire duration we sat there. When we arrived the waiting room barely had any other patients, and over the course of three hours it filled almost to capacity. My spouse was at a pain level 10 and we were told there was nothing they could do, but we were "at the top of the list". Another hour and a half passed and we still were not called in. This was unacceptable. Plenty of staff and security walking around, but no one seemed to care about us or any of the others in pain in the waiting room.

The San Diego Waterfront is pure magic, especially at sunset. The sky lights up in colors that seem almost unreal, reflecting off the water as ships drift by. Come evening, the twinkling lights of the ships and the city create a serene, almost cinematic scene. Whether you’re strolling along the promenade or just sitting back and watching the view, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of the harbor. A must-visit for anyone in San Diego!

Great park with a great view; the basketball court has a view of the city and the water. Very fun jump roping here for 2 and half hours and shooting hoops; pickle ball, walk your dog, bring your kids to play in the water. Little bit of this little bit of that. Great spot.

Waterfront Park is an absolute gem tucked between the city and the sea. Five stars, easy. You’ve got basketball courts for hoop dreams, pickleball courts for paddle battles, and a surprisingly solid dog park where your pup can go full zoomie. It’s also a killer outdoor concert venue—catching a sunset show here with the city skyline behind you? Chef’s kiss. Add in the proximity to Little Italy and the restaurants along the pier, and this spot basically plans your weekend for you. Whether you’re walking your dog, people-watching, or just soaking in the sun with a coffee, the wide-open green spaces give you room to breathe and move. It’s one of those rare places where city energy meets coastal chill, and somehow it all just works.

I visit Waterfront Park almost every week, and it’s easily one of my favorite spots in San Diego. The recent remodel really elevated the whole experience, the park feels cleaner, more open, and well-maintained. It’s perfect for families, especially with the playground and splash pad area for kids. My little ones can spend hours there, and it’s always buzzing with energy but never feels overcrowded. During the summer, we love the Movies in the Park nights. They are such a fun, free activity that really brings the community together. Whether we’re stopping by for a quick walk, a picnic, or to let the kids burn off some energy, Waterfront Park never disappoints. It’s become part of our weekly routine, and it’s been amazing to see how much it has improved with the remodel. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot to relax or a safe, fun place for your kids, this park is a gem.

This park is always one of the most fin..my daughter absolutely loves this park. Located aright across the marina and walking distance from the City Hall. There's a sna ks bar usually open during open hours that sell cream and snacks and some food items. Restrooms are always supplied and there is a cleaning lady that walks around keeping the place clean.

If in San Diego take an awsome walk in the beautiful weather and the awsome waterfront. Enjoyed every minute of it. Parking can be a bit ugly but very nice and clean place.

Great time at this wonderful little aquarium. If you have EBT, the $3 admission was a perfect opportunity to see everything this aquarium has to offer. The employees were kind and knowledgeable.

A great place to take young kids. This is one of the nicest aquariums I have been to. There is a lot to see and interact with and takes about 1-2 hours to go through it all. The penguin exhibit is very nicely done and it's fun to watch them swim around. Parking can be difficult on the weekends so it's best to come early in the day. There's also a discount if you buy tickets online ahead of time.

The Birch Aquarium is absolutely perfect for toddlers! We took our little one recently, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Everything is so well designed for young kids, from the colorful exhibits and interactive touch tanks to the open spaces where they can safely explore and learn. The staff is incredibly kind and patient, always taking time to explain things and make sure the kids are having fun. The outdoor tide pool area was a huge hit. Our toddler loved watching the fish and sea stars up close, and the ocean view from up there is just beautiful. It’s the perfect mix of fun, education, and family-friendly atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back soon. It’s one of the best places in San Diego for curious little ones!

A great way to spend an afternoon with the family. Nice aquarium, it's not really big but they have great indoor activities for young children. Great views. Interesting exhibits and educational value for all ages.

We always go for our 3rd grade field trip. It's amazing. It is under construction, so partially closed off. I love the classroom part the most when the kids get to be hands-on and interactive and have explicit instruction with the very knowledgeable, energetic staff!

This place is amazing! Beautiful colors of fish and sea life and tanks to touch some of them. The outside back patio has lounging chairs to enjoy the beautiful ocean views. The souvenir shop has a great variety of quality souvenirs.

Went with my daughter. It’s a bit smaller than I expected, but maintained well and nicely curated. The marine life on display are fascinating and explained well. On some days you can also witness some penguin feedings. This fish was our highlight. Good to bring little kids or even grown ones for about ~1 1/2 hours.

What a beautiful place! We went on a Friday and it wasn’t very crowded. It was just gorgeous! The flowers are so pretty and fresh! We went into the butterfly room and it was pretty magical until my one year old grandson had a butterfly land on his lip and he tried to eat it! Luckily no butterflies were injured! The sweet pea maze was fun, we actually got a little lost. Everyone seemed happy who was there and the people working there were very nice! We went earlier in the day and took about 90 minutes, by the time we left the sun came out and I was overdressed. We can’t wait to go again next year.

I’m giving The Flower Fields Garden four stars. The garden was beautiful with a stunning variety of flowers, and the presentation was lovely. 😊 The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the pleasant experience. 🍦The on-site ice cream and cotton candy shops were a delightful touch, and the food options were nice as well. 😕However, the washrooms could have been cleaner, and the butterfly section was a bit overcrowded; I expected to see more butterflies. Overall, it was a good experience, and we enjoyed our visit.

The Carlsbad Flower Fields are a great place to visit, especially during peak bloom. Start early to beat the crowds and bring water, sun hats, or even an umbrella. There is a lot of walking and some dust from the parking lot, so be ready for that. The flowers are beautiful, but be mindful not to step into the fields so they stay protected. There is sometimes live music which adds a nice touch. The food options are not the best, mostly hot dogs and basic snacks, but they are edible if you are hungry. Lines can get long so patience is key. For kids, there is a fun scavenger hunt that takes them around the whole field. Afterward, you can stop by the Carlsbad Outlets nearby to do some shopping or grab ice cream. Overall, it is a great seasonal outing if you plan ahead.

My sister and I had a nice visit to see the May blooms at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. We got there early, around opening time, on a Sunday. Parking was easy, there were a lot of spots available at that time. The flowers were beautiful and they even had a couple of small aviaries. We enjoyed seeing all the flowers in bloom, the swallows flying above the sweet pea maze, and the beautiful sculptures that were part of the Glass in Flight exhibit.

Awesome place and definitely worth a visit. My 3 year old daughter loved it!! Much more than just flowers. I drove by this place many times and my daughter always pointed to it, but I thought it was just walking around looking at flowers. I finally looked up the place online and seen it was much more than walking around looking at flowers. We slowly walked around, checked out most of the free activities, and enjoyed our day out. FYI, your shoes will get dirty, I wouldn’t wear some new kicks. You have a variety of food and drinks options, including some much needed coffee.

I’ve seen it from the freeway in the past, but I have never been here the experience in the history behind 125 year-old working farm with millions of beautiful flowers over 50 acres what an amazing experience and venue if I lived in California I would definitely consider a wedding or a shower or an anniversary party here. The staff was very friendly and informative. Absolutely beautiful phenomenal afternoon.

Mission Trails is one of San Diego’s hidden gems. It’s the perfect spot to disconnect without driving too far from the city. The trails are well-marked, with options ranging from easy walks to more challenging hikes that give you a great workout. The views from Cowles Mountain or North Fortuna are stunning, especially at sunset. I love that you can choose different vibes here—hills, canyons, even the San Diego River running through some trails. It feels safe, there are always people hiking, running, or biking, but it never feels overcrowded. Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat since some areas don’t have shade, but overall, this place is absolutely worth it. A must if you want nature, exercise, and amazing views right in the city.

I hiked from the park entrance to the peaks of two mountains. It took about three hours. The nature was diverse and beautiful. The endless vistas were truly soul-soothing. The trail varied: at times rocky, sometimes crossed by streams, and occasionally a steep mountain path. So, make sure to wear hiking boots. With a racing heart, I stood at a steep cliff, taking in the incredible beauty. You'll occasionally meet other hikers on the route, so if something happens, there will be help. I hiked in the heat, so make sure to bring plenty of water.

In my opinion it’s a very good hiking places with many trails for kids and adults i go every week end .

There's multiple parking lots and multiple trail heads. The easiest trail has uphills and down hills and some time on asphalt. There are very few places to rest, if you need frequent breaks this is not the place for you. If you are fit and of younger age this is an amazing spot.

we were in need of a substantial hike. We headed out of central San Diego to a place called Mission Trails Regional Park. The drive here was only just over 15 minutes. We parked near the visitors centre and pretty much followed the Oak Canyon to Grasslands Trail found on AllTrails. On the day we visited it was extremely quiet and we only saw a handful of others out and about. It was a really pleasant place to visit.

A nice state park filled with history. I had a pleasant experience walking around and seeing the historic houses and museums. The Fiesta de Reyes area had nice variety of food and shops. Parking is free, and there is no entrance fee.

Old Town is a great place to visit. It’s like a living museum with fantastic Mexican food all around. I’m not sure what could be better?! It’s walkable and family friendly. There’s a trolley stop next to it along with decent parking. Some of the buildings are open with static displays showing the history of San Diego. There are Park Rangers and an information office in case you have any questions.

Pretty average tourist area with some nice history plaques near each building and agood information center. Lots of touristy trinkets to purchase at tourist prices. Very easy walk through the whole town. Employees are dressed in historically correct clothing in many of the shops. Plenty of food available at several vendors on the property.

This State Historic Park is one of the few in the California State Park system with free admission—and free parking, too. Visitors can explore historic buildings filled with period furnishings, enjoy authentic Mexican restaurants, and browse dozens of colorful souvenir shops.

Nice place for photo. That is historic site of California. Must be there yo exploring with many interesting things. Specially a lot of mexican food restaurants and coffee shop around there.

We stopped in for a stroll on a Wednesday evening in the fall and found it pleasantly uncrowded. It was fun to walk around and see the historic buildings and shops. Worth a visit if you have some time.

Wanted to get out of the apartment and explorer San Diego after recently moving here a week and a half ago and decided to take a stroll through the historical area of town. Pretty cool little area with lots of history within the couple of blocks it was located in. Definitely a touristy area. Was 100% worth a trip down here to give the area a look and could find myself coming back to check out some of the local spots outside of the park as well as checking out the sightseeing & ghost tours offered.

Such a beautiful oasis in the heart of the city. The zoo is the big attraction here but the Japanese gardens, natural history museum, air and space museum and many other attractions are in this park. You could easily spend multiple days here without running out of activities!

Absolutely beautiful. It’s full of gardens, museums, and stunning architecture. Perfect for walking, relaxing, or taking photos. The atmosphere is peaceful yet lively, and there’s always something interesting going on. It’s totally worth visiting this iconic San Diego spot.

One of the best city parks ever! It’s large, well maintained, and in a pretty central location. Has tons of interesting places to explore, from the impressive architecture to the many museums and gardens. Lively, very aesthetic place and it’s easy to spend a whole day exploring this park!

How was Balboa Park? WET. A few folks mentioned how rare this was. We were also there on a local free day. I guess it is an honor system, as no one asked for ID, but we were willing to fess up to being from another State, where rain is a regular occurrence we are currently avoiding. Finally got into the large Botanical Building. The free Timken Museum of Art is closed M-Tue, RATS! Given that it was a free local day, there seemed to be adequate parking at 10, rain stopped by 10:30a, and we headed out. Expected a bit more of the Japanese Friendship Garden, and was surprised by cats comfortable enough to sleep in the open. Other spaces were hard to take photos of, absent other people. A public park being... public.

Great location with many museums. Free parking and a trolley to make getting around easier. Love to view the architecture. Recently attended How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Old Globe Theater which was fantastic. The Arboretum is open again. The buildings were light up at night.

Balboa Park is a true San Diego treasure, and every visit confirms why it's a world-class destination. It’s more than just a park; it's a breathtaking escape that combines stunning architecture, lush gardens, and phenomenal museums into one unforgettable experience. You could easily spend an entire day—or an entire week—and still not see everything. We spent our day strolling along the Prado, captivated by the ornate Spanish Colonial architecture that transports you back in time. The gardens are a sensory delight, from the serene Japanese Friendship Garden to the vibrant blooms in the Rose Garden. The Botanical Building is a must-see, with its towering wood lath structure and beautiful koi pond. The best part? So much of this beauty is completely free to enjoy. For museum lovers, the options are endless. We visited the San Diego Museum of Art and were thoroughly impressed with the collection, but you could just as easily lose yourself in the Fleet Science Center or the Museum of Us. The options mean there's something for every interest and every age. Now, for those complaining about parking: 😡stop being lazy and get there early like everyone else. We arrived around 9 a.m. and found a great spot in the free Inspiration Point lot with no hassle. If you're not an early riser, there's a free tram service that will get you where you need to go. The park is massive, and a little planning goes a long way. Don't let your own poor planning diminish this incredible experience for others with a one star review😡😤. In short, Balboa Park is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is vibrant and inspiring, the grounds are immaculate, and the variety of things to do is unmatched. This is a five star experience from start to finish, and we can’t wait to go back.

Balboa Park will leave you in awe. With several museums, garden and San Diego Zoo to visit, you will never run out of things to do. It’s a great place to bring the whole family. I how educational and historical this park is. I would highly recommend this beautiful park to anyone visiting the San Diego area.

My family and I enjoyed visiting the living Coast discovery center and learning about the rescued animals as well as how to compost at home. Once we arrived at the location we had to park our car, and board the shuttle to get to the center. It was a short and fun ride. As soon as we arrived at the center we immediately ran to see the huge rescued turtle. I cannot recall her name, but my son was excited to see her swimming around. The fees to enter are reasonable and although the location is small it is packed with interesting animals native to California. There was also an interactive session with an Iguana, where we learned things we didn't know prior to attending. We enjoyed our visit as it felt more intimate, less crowded, and not as overwhelming. We are looking forward to attending again as we totally overlooked the eagle and owl sections. Nevertheless, it was a great time, and the staff was absolutely awesome.

Our kids grew up coming on field trips here. Not much has changed, but it's still as interesting as it was then. This is a great place to bring kids to, to come as a family, to learn about nature and conservation. It's small enough to see everything in a day, and still go into some detail. They have many species of animals here. Their workers are very knowledgeable about the animals, their habitats and interactions. There is a composting station/workshop, a shark and sting ray tank (for petting), as well as a sea anemone petting area, a sea turtle enclosure, several bird enclosures, a look out area with beautiful views looking over the marsh lands and the bay, and an area with picnic tables. The area is surrounded by native plants, chapparal. The gift shop is well stocked and items are mostly affordable. Pleasant staff who are mostly very knowledgeable. (We enjoyed talking to several employees.) Clean bathrooms. Expanded and closer parking lot compared to older one. Bus/shuttle van comes on a loop several times an hour. Also, there are several short hiking trails. Definitely worth spending a day here. (Or more—when my kids were little we had annual passes. Worth the price if you plan to visit more often.)

The Living Coast Discovery Center is an amazing habitat sanctuary to visit just South of San Diego. They have a variety of wildlife with multiple birds, reptiles and marine life. I was lucky enough to arrive on time for see the Eagles being free which was a cool sight. There is also hiking trail out to the Bay which is nice as well. Great for kids and not as crowded as other places.

Great experience visiting this place that had very nice ambassadors doing talks. Great way to experience the SD bay and all the trails that are part of the NWS next door. Recommend if you are interested in sea life, raptors and learning more about the SD Bay wild life. I didn't spot any marsh land birds, but would like to come back and visit again early AM to see the birds on the signs that say these are our neighbors.

We love the discovery center. We are frequent visitors. There are so many neat things to see including a large array of animals and birds. It is so special to see the golden and bald eagles and you'll love petting the rays. This is a great spot for families. I highly recommend it.

We went and enjoyed learning about all the animals they had. The Staff was so nice, they had tons of interesting facts and information about the animals. They made our experience wonderful!

We were getting our car serviced in National City and this was an amazing way to kill the time! It took about an hour and a half to go through all of the exhibits at a leisurely pace. It costs $20 per adult - well worth it!

visited the park on Tuesday, August 19. Lots of life jackets hanging for free for children. There were few people, no queues. We went to all the children's attractions quickly. The park is clean and tidy. Three big slides were closed. All the other three or four adult slides were open. Of the minuses, I did not like the inattention and lack of empathy on the part of the instructor in the children's area to some children, my shy son could not get to the green water slide in the children's area in order to go down it, other children ran in front of him, pushed my son aside and stood in front of him and my son always remained behind the queue, and the instructor standing there did not react in any way, the children slid down the slide, ran again and again pushed my son aside, the instructor did not observe the order of the queue. Then I suggested that my son slide down the pink slide, because there was no one there. Then when I had already climbed the slide, she again did not observe the queue order and then I told her: "No, my son is first!" I had to repeat this phrase to her three times, because my son let everyone pass and should not let anyone pass again, although the instructor decided that he should wait again. But everything should be fair and it was about 2:30 pm

The most amazing time! My 2 year old loved it. She was able to get on 4 rides and then she got to play in the water park. The lazy river was so relaxing it made her take a good long nap so we had to leave. She woke up screaming, “Elmo! Elmo!” Her way of saying she wanted to go back already lol Sesame Place will definitely be added to our annual vacation from now on just like Disney. Tip get the all day dinning pass. It pays for itself. The bacon burger, chicken tenders and pizza were good!

Took my baby who is just starting to walk. There is not as much “toys” or random spigots that shoot water out for his age like at Knotts Soak city. At Soak city they have a toddler section and a kid section. I was hoping the same for here but basically no toddler section. We sat by the wave pool and all the chairs are sitting in sand. Sand and kids do not go hand-in-hand. There also isn’t many places to eat so you will have to eat in your chairs… in the sand… I’m only comparing this to soak city because it’s been some time since I’ve gone to other water parks. There was lots of broken or dirty places and pieces here at Sesame place such as the lazy river there was trash inside the river and along the bushes. I feel at the other waterpark. It is often being kept clean by different janitors walking around. I didn’t see employees like that here instead I seen them standing at store entrances assuming we attempting to prevent theft. We ate chicken tenders and fries and they were fine. Overpriced as expected. However, they didn’t have ranch kind of odd in my opinion. The restrooms here were dirty and again, nobody maintaining them throughout the day. The employee at the guard shack could not really identify the difference between a VIP parking and “up close parking” General parking was way too expensive for this type of park Some of the water tipping mechanisms were broken so they didn’t spill out. Very limited umbrellas also in the seating area. In general, I feel like this place was small and dirty and too expensive for what they’re offering. I understand not everybody has a new walking baby like myself however, for me it just was not worth it at all. The most positive thing I can say is I really really truly appreciate the relax policy on bringing food in. We did bring some snacks in for my baby with ease.

First time at this water park, we went yesterday July 5th! It wasn’t over crowded. We rented the Cabana next to the water wave pool. I believe 2 of the water slides were closed but everything else was opened! My 6 year old had a blast! (His favorite was the lazy river) 😜 We did not try any of the food from here. I brought sandwiches from Sprouts & water. The Vodka Seltzer was $17

Not as bad as SeaWorld. Visited as a family of 5 travelling from Ireland. Bought two fast passes for the water slides the two nights before. When we arrived, we had to run around and see that only 2 slides were open. I asked and received a refund for the fast pass. We would of left apart from this was my sons request. He has Down Syndrome and I couldn't say we were leaving due to alot of things closed. Two slides open. Fine at the start but as Park got busy, you had a long wait for a mat to use on the slide. People wouldn't give up mat and I only counted 15. Park closed at 4pm instead of 5pm. I figure that was due to nobody being in it. Same as Orlando, they have a kids water area. While they support autism, I don't think they understand that kids with sensory issues don't like water coming down when trying to get on slides. My son could do the kids area as water would shower you on your head and face. He can't handle that. None water rides were fine. Soft drinks were 7.50 so robbery. Very little food or soft drinks area open. It's obvious summer doesn't start till July here but no one told us tourists. Very few staff, very few lifeguards and no water slides open due to Noone doing any work in 6 months. Waste of time and money if going for waterside. Lucky I won't be back to it and I would recommend others to try and avoid too as nothing is up on the website.

Very enjoyable for all ages. I received two bonus ticket to visit the park for free, we just had to pay for parking. The drive was far but it was worth it. Loved the wave pool and the lazy river. The employees were professional. Lots of seating which made all the difference. Hopefully I will revisit next summer.

This place is amazing! I had low expectations going in, but was pleasantly surprised. The character interactions and happy staff were incredible. I highly recommend dining with Elmo!! The price was decent & the food selection was really good too

The beach is beautiful. Sunsets are amazing here in August. I see dolphins about every third time I am here. The second image is a video of dolphins jumping.

Beautiful beach that stretches pretty long. Visited in September and found it to be a beautiful spot to enjoy a sunny day. Wasn't overly crowded at all, and although I understand there are issues with Tijuana discharging waste towards the U.S., the water seemed clean. Watch the seagulls. They try getting in to people bags on the beach. They seem to have gotten pretty good at it

Beautiful and clean beach with soft sand and amazing ocean views. It has convenient showers and restrooms, which is great after swimming. Good place to relax and watch the sunset.

One of my favorite beaches in San Diego. Used to be one of America’s best beaches. This is a great place for a run, see the naval airplanes, land, and takeoff, bring your dog to the dog beach, have a bonfire, or walk around the car at a hotel del Coronado. Just be wary of the hazard of the water coming from Tijuana There is a QR code that you can track. Other than that, this is the beach that has a lot of sand that you can relax on or play volleyball

Beautiful long beach, which keeps it from feeling too busy, and one of the best spots close to town to enjoy the ocean. Great view of the Hotel del Coronado too!

One of the best beaches in San Diego. Got to see the Navy ships in the far distance and helicopters flying by. The breeze feels wonderful.

I've learned about this place during some classes at the university and Chicano Park was one of the main reasons I visited San Diego. What a beautiful, remarkable place! Murals tell so much about the Chicano culture and are a testament to its heritage. Definitely a must-visit!

I drove right through Chicano Park by accident and ended up finding a really cool bookstore, Libélula, where they encouraged me to go and spend some time down there. She told me that the bridges and freeway were built right through and over their community and that the park created around and including it was rich with culture and color. I am SO glad I went back and walked around so I could appreciate its beauty. I was alone and never once felt unsafe. I walked up to some of the little shops after and really enjoyed Barrio Logan more than any place I visited in San Diego. Great people, can’t wait to go back!

If you like art and urban interesting places, you’ll love this gem of a place. Located under the bridge between San Diego and Coronado island, it holds over 70 murals painted directly on the cement pillars and on some of the structures near by. Bright, vibrant colors, and very cool designs that will make you go “WOW” more than once! Parking in the area is ample and there’s even a small area right next to the place. Bring you phone or camera because you will want to take photos!

It was awesome to finally visit this historic park! We were passing by on the freeway when we spot it and decided to exit and visit it. Im pretty sure when an event is happening it must be an amazing experience at Chicano Park. Wished there wasn't so many homeless hanging around but it is what it is. It didn't take away from how amazing and beautiful the Art is around the park. Definitely a place to visit

hicano Park is a park located beneath the San Diego–Coronado Bridge in Barrio Logan, a predominantly Chicano or Mexican American and Mexican-migrant community in central San Diego, California. The park is home to the country's largest collection of outdoor murals, as well as various sculptures, earthworks, and an architectural piece dedicated to the cultural heritage of the community. The park was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2016. Chicano Park was the result of a militant (but nonviolent) people's land takeover. Every year on April 22 the community celebrates the anniversary of the park's takeover with a celebration called Chicano Park Day. The park opens daily from 6 am to 10pm

What a cultural and educational gem of an experience! Family trip to explore and take in the amazing art here did not disappoint one bit!

pretty amazing park with tons of artwork all over the structures and art installments. The whole area is full of interesting art that would take anyone several hours to view them all. I highly recommend anyone to stop by and experience all the art installations and to learn from the Chicano history.

Disappointing Whale Watching Experience I recently had the misfortune of taking a whale watching tour that turned out to be a complete disaster. The experience was so bad that I would not recommend it to anyone. Lack of Whale Sightings The most disappointing aspect was the absence of whales. The captain claimed there was one about two miles away, but it’s unrealistic to expect passengers to spot it without binoculars or a telescope. This lack of sightings made the entire trip feel pointless. Uncomfortable Ride The boat ride itself was extremely bumpy, leading to widespread seasickness among passengers. Unfortunately, my daughter was also affected and vomited, which made the experience even more distressing for us. Poor Music Choice and Volume To make matters worse, the crew played loud music that was not only unpleasing but also added to the overall stress of the trip. When I politely requested them to lower the volume, my request was ignored, which was frustrating and inconsiderate. Overall Experience The entire three-hour tour felt like a nightmare. Having been on several whale watching tours in other cities, this was undoubtedly the worst experience I’ve had. The combination of no whale sightings, a rough ride, and poor customer service made it a trip to forget.

The cruise was great and showed a lot of areas of the San Diego harbor area. Lots of sailboats and navy ships and other craft to see. There are a lot of beautiful views on this Cruise. I would have gave it five stars but I couldn't hear the narration very well. They need to turn up the volume or speak louder.

We did a 2hour tour of the harbor. The staff were very friendly. They offered a very informative tour explaining all the buildings and ships around the harbor. Even got to see some sea lions chilling on the port. They have a decent menu for beer and chips.

We went on the 1.5 hour cruise. We sat on the top deck. I recommend sitting on the right side. Everything they talk about is mostly on that side. Although you can get up and walk around. Wear plenty of sunscreen! There is a covered inside. Wash rooms. Snacks-we had pretzels with cheese and a fruit plate that was delicious. Drinks are available. They have you scan a QR code to open a tab. Or you can do it old school. I loved all the info on the bay restaurants and the ships in the harbor. We saw the seals playing. Also, the Navy Seals training. All the info about the different military boats. Great price!

Highlight of my trip! This boat tour was amazing, I saw so many dolphins, and I saw a whale! The cell service is great. I had plenty of food. The ship has many different spots to sit. There is a lot of shade spots and lots of sunny spots, there is a bathroom on board.

My family took this cruise as an activity with the GoCity pass. We were visiting San Diego for the week and wanted to see as much of the city as possible. We were not allowed to get our tickets in advance, but did not have any issues on the day of the cruise. Our GoCity passes worked as tickets. On the boat, there was limited seating. Many families had to sit inside because there was no room outside. There was absolutely no shade on the top of the boat. It was so hot. Make sure to bring a hat and visor. You can get what looks like a 4oz soda for $4. My husband joked that they took a can of soda and divided it four ways and charged us $16. We did not see any whales. My children were bored for four hours. We saw sea lions and two types of dolphins. That was a total of 10 minutes or less, which means we were in the hot sun for almost four hours. My husband and son fell asleep for a couple of hours. We were given a voucher to come back again to look for whales, but my family was not interested.

Cabrillo has such a breathtaking 360 view and has lots of history and trails. Unfortunately we missed the low tide to enjoy the tide pools but we will be going back. Take plenty of water and snacks with you, at the visitor center there are vending machines and clean restrooms. At the tide pools there are restrooms available. The veterans cemetery was huge and very peaceful to drive and walk through with a fantastic view of the ocean. If you go make sure you go during low tide to enjoy the tide pools.

I went there on National Park Day so it was free to the public. Veterans also get in free on any day of the year with proof of service such as a Veterans ID or DD214. Or if you've been around a while, buy a senior pass online for less than $100 & it gets you in all national parks. You can walk in and view the lighthouse which is cool. The views from the Point are spectacular a good deal of the year, unless it's hazy or fogged in. I took a hike down on the east (bay) side and had great views of San Diego, North Island, Coronado & the local mountains out East. Then I went back up and hiked down to the west (Pacific Ocean) side hiking down a switchback trail to the tide pools. It was high tide so the tide pools were covered up in water. It's still so refreshing to be right up along the Pacific Ocean. Always a good experience visiting here.

From the drive to it, past the Military Cemetery, at the Old Lighthouse, the Lens from the original lighthouse, the view west out over the Pacific, another view of the Lighthouse & quarters, the Naval Ship Dock Yard in San Diego Harbour with the Naval Station Airfield on Coronado Island (actually a peninsula) to the right... A stunning historical gem, we came here because my wife's father painted the Old Lighthouse back in the 1950s, and she wanted to see if it was an accurate depiction. Yes it was! Be ready for hiking, & reading historical information (all of which is very interesting, & informative & worth every moment you spend learning from the exhibits, do.take time for the small historical museum of the Spanish colonization of the area, & the WWII museum & bunker areas). This National Monument & Park are gorgeous, tremendous views, from looking south to the skyline of Tijuana, east to San Diego & the Mountains around the city, & west to view the open Pacific Ocean - absolutely beautiful - the Tidal Pools are worth the short drive & the hike from where you park... we spent between 3½ to 4¼ hours here, honestly we could have spent even more time here!

Cabrillo National Monument: A Great San Diego Getaway Cabrillo National Monument is a great getaway in San Diego. If you have a National Park membership card, it will grant you free entrance. The drive up is very scenic, and when you arrive, the view doesn't disappoint. It can be windy, so bring a jacket. The old point is well maintained and looks just like a postcard. You can see the lighthouse lamps and some of the remaining rooms of the building. You'll get to see the Pacific Ocean on your left and San Diego on your right.

This lighthouse has amazing views in all directions. The lighthouse is very well preserved and it’s nice to be able to see all of the things that the lighthouse operator used on a daily basis. There’s a nice little museum in the side building adjacent to the lighthouse. There’s a nice garden that is well capped and tended to daily so you can see how the lighthouse keeper and his family would feed themselves. There’s a large rain catchment area that was used for rain capture on the east side of the lighthouse structure. There is full-size light house, illumination bulbs that are displayed in the side building. That is a very small museum. It’s interesting to see the distances that the different size bulbs would project. There’s also a mannequin and his wife, so you can see what the light keeper and his wife used to wear. The lighthouse is not very accessible for old people and people that have difficulty walking. There are a large number of steps to get up to the main floor and covering your stair that goes up into the upper floors.

The Old Point Loma Lighthouse sits atop the highest point of the Point Loma Penisula which is hundred of feet above the ocean. Therefore, the lighthouse is not itself very high. It is in very good condition. Inside, the rooms are each little pieces of its history. Of course, the view of the Pacific and Sand Diego are stunning. It's really worth a visit.

The Old Point Loma Lighthouse is a few minutes uphill walk from the Visitors Center, but it’s not too strenuous. You’ll be rewarded with a full size lens as well as replicas and a lot of information about how it works and some history of the lighthouse. You don’t get many chances to see the inter-workings of a lighthouse so this is something you don’t want to miss!

I went here this past Tuesday which was resident free entry into the museum. It is a month of July so it was packed with kids and their parents or going with some type of camp. Although I still had a great experience visiting the museum! There's a lot to see and I really like how they exhibits were structured. And made it feel a lot less busy than it actually was. There's a lot of amazing history, best reference through my photos, highly recommend it if you are visiting Balboa Park to stop by.

Some exhibits were good when it came to the cultural history like the Mayans, local native American and Egyptian displays. Many of the real artifacts were given back to the nation's they were from. The left side of the museum has become far left ideology like the name change from museum of man to museum of us. The cannibal exhibit was interesting in a Ripley's believe it or not style theme and feel. Definitely do the tower tour. Lots of great san diego history taught dating back to about 1915. The tour guide we had was knowledgeable, energetic and so sweet. She made our day.

Soooo cool!!! Definitely pay the $10 to go in the tower tour. Steps aren’t that bad and you stop on each floor to learn some history. The views from the 8th floor are beautiful. The Postcards exhibit was a reminder of how vulnerable humans are and the need to express our secrets to help us feel free. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable

We were given a tour of the beer area, Egypt, secrets, and pets. Lots of fun and thought provoking things to see. The hapa exhibit was interesting to learn about. Thank you for working with educators!

The museum is unique and interactive with lots of creative exhibits that make you think and reflect. It’s very family-friendly and easy to walk through without feeling crowded. The staff were welcoming and the whole experience was fun and meaningful. Definitely worth a visit!

My only complaint is i wish this museum was bigger. The exhibits here moved me to tears! The first exhibit is on migrants from Mexico and latin America into the US, and i map of where remains were found, and whos they were. It talks about how the USs policies have made trying to take refuge in the US very dangerous. Upstairs there was the Hapa exhibit by Kip Fulbeck, where back two decades ago he asked many Hapa or mixed Asian people to talk about their identities, and then followed up with them again this year. Other very cool and informative exhibits too. Some people have left negative reviews saying this museum is “woke” now, but i totally disagree. It is looking at important things that make people uncomfortable, that we dont talk enough about. I found it very interesting!!

We went today as the one thing I wanted to do on my daughter's birthday trip. She was not enthused to go to museum but she LOVED it and so did I! It was fascinating and has something for everyone from beer to Mayans to border crossing to Hapa to race. Our favorites were the Race, Hapa, and Post Secret exhibits. The cannibalism exhibit was awesome and I loved the interactive sections. Also the staff were sweet and helpful and let me charge my mobility scooter. Totally recommend!!

Beautiful beach with crystal clear waters most of the time. I've seen lots of fish, some small leopard sharks, dolphins, jellyfish, and stingrays (beware!). It's family friendly with lots of sand, and a grassy area to play as well. They also have a small playground and bathrooms. I also like that there are many cute restaurants within walking distance from the beach. We like to walk over there after a fun day and enjoy a meal by the sea (not ocean view, but close enough) However, the reason for the 3 stars instead of five is how crowded it gets in the summer. The parking lot is always full, so most people have to park on the side streets which are very narrow and hard to get through (cars have to take turns driving past where there are cars parked, like it's almost a one-way street except that it's not). During one of the weekends in summer, the bathroom line was over 20 people! I was so glad I didn't need to go. The only good thing about the crowds, is that so many people scare away the stingrays, so there's that. Overall, I'd recommend this beach on a weekday. It's still a bit crowded, but obviously we go here often, so it's worth it.

Beautiful area to watch seals and birds and great view. Easy to get to, a bit crowded to find parking, lots of people visiting , but during the week is fine.

As an avid paddleboarder, I have searched far and wide for the perfect spot, and I can confidently say that La Jolla Shores is it. This beach is a 5 star haven, offering a breathtaking and serene experience that is simply unmatched. The calm, clear waters of the cove are what truly set La Jolla Shores apart for paddleboarding. Unlike other beaches with crashing waves, the gentle swells here create the perfect conditions for a smooth and peaceful glide. What makes the experience so memorable is the abundant marine life. While paddling just beyond the waves, you can look down through the glistening water and see fish, bat rays, and the famous, harmless leopard sharks that frequent the area in the summer months. I even had a pod of dolphins escorting my group on a recent outing near the pier an unforgettable moment! Rental shops like Everyday California and La Jolla Surf Systems are conveniently located just a block or two from the beach, making the whole process incredibly easy. You can get your gear and be on the water in minutes. There is also plenty of sandy shoreline to launch from, so you're not battling crowds to get in the water.

Parking is INSANE. We tried to come around 1pm and gave up after an hour of looking for a spot. Came back the next day at 9am, and had plenty of spots to choose from. We spent all day on the beach until the tide finally started nearing our site. The water is beautiful. So clean and clear, and the waves were perfect.

It was very crowded but under control. Still the bathrooms are a bit lame. Definitely an open city beach. But if you walk down far enough (padt the cement walkwsy) you can find some less populated spots.

La Jolla shores beach is definitely one of the best beaches in America. Incredibly beautiful cove, and the beach is over a mile long with smooth, white sand. It is a fantastic destination for any water activities. While it is sheltered from most swells, the smaller ones it gets are very well shaped and easy to ride.

Seeing the turtles in such small tanks just constantly swimming into the glass and some laying on the floor in the corners made me so sad and ruined the whole thing for me , The rides were fun tho ..wear sun screen ! Highly recommend a waterproof fanny pck bc it is super annoying having to put your phones in a locker each ride (they dont allow them in ur pockets most rides and youll get wet on some) plus sometimes the fast pass and food pass is on ur phone ( half of my groups ended up like this) plus if you want a locker closer to you you have to pay again …. Not expensive but time consuming and avoidable ! P.s. the food here SUCKKKKSSS so dont look forward to it but it was fun feeding the birds french fries P.s.s if youre going on a holiday weekend ( we went mothers day) you wont need a fast pass and they dont refund you for them! We bought one for each member and didnt even end up needing them

Amazing park!! Me and my wife went for her birthday and there is so much to do. Out of the zoo and safari park this was really the highlight themepark of our vacation. Staff was really friendly, if you have kids there is alot for them too do and the adults also. They have smaller kids rides and adult roller coasters about 4 of them. There is a bit walking involved in order to get to where you need but not more than it feels it needs. We did everything in the time the park was open. Arrived at 10am and left a bit after 5pm. They do have shows every hour or so. They have an all you can eat day pass if u want all ur meals for one price i think it was $35. I really recomend booking in advance for dinning with the orcas. We did this and had an amazing gournet buffet style meal. Theres a picture added to give you an idea of how it was. They do a training exercise with them and put on a small show about 45min long. My Wife really enjoyed it, its nice to eat and be that close to them its really beautiful. And the fiod was really good also and it was all you could eat and they had deserts too. This was $35 a person.

We loved Sea World, but honestly for the price? I don’t know if we’d go back again after seeing it all.. very cool exhibits but stuff was limited and it was a bummer after all the money we spent on tickets.. still, go at least once.

I absolutely loved Sea World. I was a bit hesitant when choosing this destination however this is a great amusement park. They treated all of the animals with love and care. They had plenty of food options. That honestly, where better than most fast food restaurants. The rides were a lot of fun. And the shows were informational yet entertaining.

The park is nice. I have been with my family here and everyone enjoyed a lot. The Christmas special events and themes are pretty nice.

It is an amaizing place if you want your kids n adults to have fun ; all the aquariums are really nice. The dolphins and orcas seem to be really happy n playing with their toys

Sea World definitely needs to pick up their game!! Times of Shamus stadium entertainment and fun summer nights are gone! Show themes have been the same for years, minus the Shamu show, which is now stifling and boring. The drink and snack enclaves are dirty with wet sticky floors and dirty counter tops. The staff seems to all be 11teen and have no customer service skills. I have been to all the Sea World parks, and have always loved San Diego the best. However, I can’t say that now. It truly is a saddening to see how Sea World San Diego has lost its charm.

Clean beach. Sparkling water. Water is chilly. Caution: the waves can get very big.

Dimitra made everything so easy for me as a first-time buyer. She handled all the communication with the loan officer, seller, inspectors, and contractors. I barely had to lift a finger. She was responsive, available at all hours, and just a kind, hardworking person. Amazing experience.

Brought the kid to take a dip into the Pacific in late March 2024 (yeah cold, but he's young and his blood's on fire) and were disappointed to find "beach closed due to bacteria" signs up and down the beach. A lifeguard truck seemed to be pulling out towards the water and calling swimmers back from the surf. A little research and I see the Tijuana River is dumping millions of gallons of human sewage out near Imperial Beach and it's led to closures of Coronado pretty often the past two years. Gross. This is an environmental disaster, and such a shame for a beautiful beach. The hotel was also under construction on the facade, so the trip through all that bridge traffic was a washout. Should have gone straight to Point Loma, I guess, and we'll strike Coronado off our list until "swimming in human excrement" is not on the menu.

Beautiful, clean beach for families, picnics, and sunbathing! We parked off Loma (free unlimited-hour street parking) and walked over within a few minutes. We sat to the left of the little dip in the sand (closer to the hotel) and found there to be far fewer people, though we would’ve had plenty of space regardless - the beach is huge (wide and long!). There is a free public restroom/bathroom directly behind the lifeguard tower. If you’re on a sand dollar hunt, I found two that were fully intact! Great beach, highly recommend.

It's really beautiful when the tide is low! Try to go on a weekday to avoid crowds and find parking.
