Nestled in the heart of Kaiserslautern, Gartenschau Kaiserslautern is a hidden gem that beautifully combines nature, art, and fun. This expansive outdoor theme park features stunning gardens and themed exhibitions that captivate visitors of all ages. One of its standout attractions is the Dinosaur Park, where life-sized dinosaur replicas roam among educational displays—perfect for sparking curiosity in young minds. Families will find plenty to keep everyone entertained at Gartenschau.
I absolutely love this place! My kids enjoyed it as well. Lots to do and see. Kid friendly as they have many play areas for them. They have a mini golf course as well next to the food area. Certainly will be coming back!
Jane W — Google review
Absolutely fantastic way to spend an afternoon. We had some family in town and took the kiddos to the park to run around and look at the dinos. Plus, their food options are well priced and tasty. Nothing but great things to say, we'll be getting a season pass.
Devin E — Google review
Nice park with dinosaurs at every corners, they even had a Lego place, it was so nice. The food court had fish and vegetarian option and very affordable. Great place for kid and adult.
Wale K — Google review
It is amazing and so beautiful in spring... I just love it . You can find something to eat and playgrounds for kids .
Nina A — Google review
Amazing place for families! Not so crowded, with shallow water for kids and different play areas. There's also a great lego museum, with fun creations.
Juliana O — Google review
Beautyful place for both adults and children, nice playing grounds for diverse activities like skateboarding, minigolf, experiments. Also, you can buy some snacks here and have a little picnic in the shadow, next to the small river. Relaxing for parents and full of activities for bigger children.
Andreea M — Google review
Thank you so much reading 📖 my beautiful review. Very top 🔝 entrance. 13/09/2022 I visit this Park. Really Such a cool park. Sprawling playground with so many attractions and features for kids of all ages. Mainly 🦕 🦖 Dinosaur covered all. Well maintained in the area. God salute 🫡 for the Team. Definitely better suited for older. There was an awesome cafe with lots of good food options. It would probably take 1 full hour to do and see everything. We were there 2-3 hours and mainly stayed in the same two playground areas plus walked around the majority of the park quickly to look. Bring a picnic blanket and snacks and a stroller if needed enjoy! I am enjoyed. I hope you too 😎
Anton — Google review
My family and I came here for a fall festival. The pumpkin sculptures were fun to see and the dinosaur statues were cool as well. The real highlight was the number of playgrounds. Our kids were in playground heaven! We ordered a few small items off of the menu. They were descent. We will probably go back again next season.

Burg Hohenecken is a captivating castle ruin located on a rocky spur 365 meters up on Schlossberg hill, southwest of Kaiserslautern. The fortress, dating back to the Hohenstaufen era, offers a striking testimony to Staufian architecture and can be seen from afar. Accessible via a steep path from the town center, it sits at the end of a ridge and boasts an extensive plateau at 376 meters high.
These castle ruins are a steep but quick walk from the city hall parking lot, with a nice view over the town, and interesting ruins. The nearby goats were also fun to see!
Elizabeth T — Google review
These are really neat castle ruins! There's an informational sign which is helpful to understand the history (in multiple languages too!). It is a steep walk to get up to it, and we had trouble finding the walkway at first (there is a sign pointing down the street that had some overgrown trees in front of it). But once we found it and got up there, it was worth it! Most people said to park at the city center parking lot, we parked down the street by a cemetery. Anyway, awesome spot and a nice view of the villages below!
Kasey S — Google review
Burg Hohenecken is such a hidden gem! The castle ruins are a beautiful sight and truly a spectacle to see up close. The panoramic view of the city below is breathtaking, especially on a clear day. The surrounding area offers endless trails perfect for walking or cycling, making it a great spot to relax, explore, and enjoy nature. Highly recommend visiting!
Lady C — Google review
This is a really cool Castle to visit and take a moderate brisk walk up the hill. The ruins are still awesome to visit and see some of the raw walls of the castle. It has a beautiful view of the town. Parking is plentiful not far from the base of the hill and a few steps from the entrance of the trail. The town is not far from Vogelweh and Pulanski Barracks. The added bonus, its free.
ROB B — Google review
The walk up is fairly steep, but do-able for my toddler and pregnant wife. At the top there are a few ruins to see and some nice views of the surrounding valley. Nice quick stop.
Devin E — Google review
A nice walk in the forest up to this beautiful scenic place :) I have no idea what the ticket price is for, everything seems free
Martina C — Google review
This was a nice castle ruins to hike up to. Definitely wear some comfortable shoes so you can hike up to the castle safely and comfortably. The views were nice and it was nice to be able to get a breath of fresh air at the top. It’s only about 20 minutes from the KMC area so it’s also conveniently located
Ms. K — Google review
Good trails to take you to the castle from different directions that are marked along the way with history. The castle itself is small and has no overhead cover from weather. Some goats near the castle, which were a surprise to see on the walk there. The warning side to not feed them is present. Enjoyed the views from the castle. A few benches are located at the castle to have a meal and enjoy your walk to it. Distance to travel varies depending on where you started. There's a nice park for the children a few minutes away by foot following a narrow trail.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Nestled in the heart of Kaiserslautern, Zoo Kaiserslautern is a delightful destination for animal lovers and families alike. Spanning 17 acres, this charming zoo is home to around 115 species, including majestic tigers and playful goats in its petting area. Visitors can explore diverse habitats like savannas and tropical houses while enjoying the serene lake that enhances the natural ambiance. Accessibility is a breeze whether you arrive by public transport or car.
Great outdoors experience for families. I recommend sunny day when animals are out and enjoying the weather. Perfect for a walk! Birds singing everywhere. Little playground in the middle of the zoo for small kids.
Agnieszka H — Google review
Fantastic cozy little zoo with multiple "walk inside the habitat" zones. Lots of fun animal interactions!
Anna G — Google review
This is not like a full-on zoo with Lions, gorillas, and so on. This Zoo is an interaction Zoo. We were able to sit and pet the camels, lemurs, ducks, and goats. Perfect pastime, great for small children, and loved the burger and fries.
Christina T — Google review
Great zoo to take your kids or to walk around and relax. Good variety of animals well kept. Well price. See photos for details.
Brandan G — Google review
Cool zoo where it seems like all the animals were active vs hiding in their little houses like other zoos, it’s fairly small tho, can walk around and see everything in about 30min-1hr
David V — Google review
Not the biggest zoo but had a good variety of animals and had mostly unobstructed views. Animals seemed happy and well taken care of. Of the exhibits, the playground was the biggest hit. Probably not enough to do for a whole day but definitely a great way to spend an afternoon.
Devin E — Google review
This is an good zoo with plenty of animals to see. It was fantastic to get up close to so many small animals including. Don’t have biggest animals lions, tigers and elephants. Well laid out with the little playground. Most suitable for kids. We didn't catch many of the events but that didn't soil the day, but the dolphin show was amazing and good fun. Food is available throughout the attraction (although good restaurant were shut on our visit). Good day out for the kids with family and reasonably priced.
Anton — Google review
This is not the San Diego or Dallas Zoo. It's a small zoo in Kaiserslautern. But, if you have a little time and want to entertain the kids, this is a really cool little zoo with plenty to see and do. The play area is very nice as well, not to mention the food is very good and the prices are certainly very reasonable. I mean, the food is not exactly on a Michelin Star level, but it is pretty amazing for a small zoo. But where in Germany, really, do they serve bad food? In all, this was a very enjoyable experience.

Nestled in the heart of Kaiserslautern, near the town hall, Museum Pfalzgalerie Lautre is a treasure trove for art enthusiasts. Established in the 1870s by Palatine president Paul von Braun, this gallery showcases an impressive array of artworks spanning from the 19th century to contemporary pieces. Visitors can embark on a captivating journey through German art history, starting with Neoclassicism and traversing through Romanticism, Impressionism, Expressionism, and beyond.
Museum Pfalzgalerie Lautre is one on the most interesting museum with a special and unique collection of art from a lot of different areas in art history and destinations, as well it is quite famous for its contemporary art exhibitions
Hamdy R — Google review
Many artifacts that survived WWII on display. There were several modern day exhibits and an electric light show offered at the time of my visit. Entry was free at the time of my visit but entry fee may be required at other times. The museum is not very big but you could spend a couple of hours walking through the exhibits and works of art. I would include this as a place to visit when in Kaiserslautern.
M. H — Google review
Nice museum but the permanent exhibition which reflects the German art of the Palatinate in the 18-20th centuries is very small, unreasonable small, schematic, with big spaces reserved to ephemerous, boring, contemporary art and projects of debatable value. It has a good selection of art books for sale at low prices, good selecționer of postcards and souvenirs.
Alin S — Google review
The museum is well organized, quiet and modern, not crowded at all. First saturday of the month with free entrance! There was a temporary and a permanent exposition. Worth a visit if you like paitings.
Jorge C — Google review
Very Good museum. Well maintenance. Thank you so much Team

Fascinating little art museum. Very kind and knowledgeable staff Decent priced tickets and art posters Easy parking/access

This is a small museum, with not many other visitors while we were there. It was very quiet, and the employees follow you from room to room - which can be a bit distracting. It gave us something to do while visiting family in Kaiserslautern.

History Museums
The Theodor-Zink-Museum is a small, restored 19th-century building located in the old downtown area of Kaiserslautern. It features exhibits on the history of the town from prehistoric times to WWII and beyond. Admission is mostly free, with one section that charges a fee but is only available in German. This hidden gem is recommended for those interested in local history or looking for something to do while wandering around town.
It’s a wonderful museum with a lot of history about Kaiserslauten. The entry is free. You could spend around an hour if you want to read through everything and get to know Kaiserslauten better. Everything displayed are in German but there’s few books in the rooms which has the English translations for all the items and infos on display. You can also buy souvenirs from the front office. I bought a small wine/shots glass just for 1€.
Emil A — Google review
Good municipal museum. Almost everything is translated into English, it covers all eras from paleolithic to post-ww2. Lots of historical explanations and historical context. And good publicistic acrivity. It has a books hop with proffesional books and journals on local history. You can certainly find out a lot about Kaiserslautern by visiting.
Alin S — Google review
Cool semi-hidden but beautifully restored museum accessed from within a courtyard in the old downtown area of Kaiserslaughtern. Lots of memorabilia from prehistoric days to the Roman Empire to WWII and more recent days, too. It's free to walk through almost all the exhibits - there is one part that charges 4€ per person, but that part was all in German, which sadly I cannot read, so I don't even know what it was. Recommended especially if you're wandering around just enjoying the day and killing time.
Cannonfish — Google review
Beautiful gem tucked in Kaiserslautern. Wonderful preservation of history.
Lala S — Google review
Very interesting museum where the history of Kaiserslautern is preserved. I particularly learned about the impact of hyperinflation, the treatment of the Jewish citizens and their synagogue, and the impact of the allied bombing. I also learned that Kaiserslautern was the epicenter for sewing machines.
Terry D — Google review
i stopped here while randomly exploring the city one afternoon. the musem is free, but mostly in german. i don't speak german but the person working was really kind and gave me a little bit of info, and then i wandered around and looked at the pictures and exhibits. the special exhibit does cost a few euros, but the main one is free and covers the history of hte area. i found it really interesting and a great use of an hour or two!

The Japanischer Garten und Japan-Imbiss is a vast, well-maintained Japanese garden that features various attractions like a teahouse, festivals, and waterfalls. It is filled with lush green trees and plants, tranquil sitting areas, and bodies of water where one can find fishes and ducks. The park also offers excellent photo opportunities; however, it tends to get crowded on sunny days.
Beautiful gardens. Ponds with koi fish. Waterfalls. Stone paths and steps. Lots of photo opportunities. Very relaxing. Has small snack bar. Has visitor restrooms. Small gift shop at the entrance. Reasonable admission fees.
Michele G — Google review
Stopped in and enjoyed the time here. It was smaller than we expected but we still had a nice walk around. This is not a stroller friendly place at all, so consider that when planning your visit. Lots of beautiful trees and scenery. Maps had us park down the street and there were not signs showing us where to go but we found it…
Leslie V — Google review
This garden was really beautiful and literally couldn't sit and read a book if it was warmer outside. Parking was great and close. Definitely worth a visit and will be posting on our insta @Parksidemagic soon and will show you what your missing out on. Looking forward to going back in spring
Greg L — Google review
Garden was beautiful and perfect for a nice walk. It was serene and an amazing place for pictures. It’s well kept and the ducks and koi fish were so pretty in the small lake.
Melody C — Google review
Great place to stop if it's on your way. Inexpensive and gorgeous. If you arrive on the weekend there's free parking right next to it, drive up the ally by the side of the garden entrance
Tamirkat — Google review
Japanese Garten is a refreshing patch of nature in the middle of the city center. Although we missed the earlier blossoming of trees, the garden areas and trails were well maintained and beautiful. There are benches throughout the garden. Koi fish, ducks and other birds add to the picturesque setting of the garden. If looking to enjoy a book, take the perfect picture or just quietly observe nature, the garden is a great place for self reflection. A Japanese Tea ceremony is periodically performed within the grounds. There is also a a small outdoor cafe where you can get a beverage and light snack. This is a must see location in Ktown.
M. H — Google review
So peaceful and they have plants for sell too - such a lovely lil time with the kids
Fia K — Google review
Very peaceful! It is 6,50€ to enter and WELL worth it! There are beautiful koi fish in the pond and the views are spectacular. I'm going to have to come back and have a little picnic at this garden and maybe bring my books to study. It's gorgeous and sooo soo peaceful. Definitely going to make this place my little "escape" from reality. It doesn't even feel like you are in Germany when you walk in. Extremely ethereal. And hearing the waterfall was just so calming. I absolutely cannot wait to go back!

Kaiserbrunnen, located at Mainzer Tor in Kaiserslautern, is a captivating bronze and sandstone fountain that offers a whimsical journey through the city's history and modern influences. The fountain features symbolic elements such as a Napoleon hat, busts of Holy Roman Emperors Frederick and Rudolf, the city's seal, a Pfaff sewing machine, and an Opel car engine.
What a wonderful little fountain, with a really cool mix of steampunk imagery and figures from the medieval period to the renaissance. And on a “hot” day like today, the kids really enjoy getting their feet wet and playing.
Christopher C — Google review
Very nice water display. A nice place to take a quick break.
Tony ( — Google review
Pretty fountain. Nice to visit and take some pictures but nothing else around.
Michele G — Google review
This is a very fun fountain for a family with small children. We walked through downtown Kaiserslautern with family visiting from America, and hadn't spent much time in Kaiserslautern ourselves, but I had looked this fountain up because my kids absolutely love large fountains like this. It did NOT disappoint. There are many figures to look at, and though it seems to be prohibited, the design of the fountain invites one to walk through it between the figures. There are also two headless figures which make for a great photo opp, almost like one of those paintings with the faces cut out for you to stick your head in. There is a busy road (ludwigstrasse) on the other side, if coming from St Martin's Place, which you should be aware of and keep a close eye on your children, but it doesn't subtract to the fun of this fountain. If you're walking through downtown Kaiserslautern with small children, definitely add this to your list of destinations.

Yabadoo is a large indoor soft play area designed for children to have a blast. It features various attractions such as trampoline jumping, climbing mountain, soft mountain, dragon castle, toddlers play area, softball shooter, and indoor soccer. The venue is perfect for rainy days and play dates. While there's a snack bar available, visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnic. Although entry is free, some visitors suggest implementing a cover charge to ensure safety and supervision by staff.
A friend hosted a birthday party here, and I took my 8 year old. She had a blast! Climbed around on the various equipment. Open space, so it was easy to keep an eye on her. I would say this is more for kids 10 and under.
S. K — Google review
I don’t know why my kids like this place, ok maybe because of the roller coaster and a trampoline :) The building seems old, but still good, I see some small improvements made. • Price per kid 9 euros, 4 adult (I think last year was much cheaper…CASH ONLY • You can do birthdays parties here • Cafeteria is pretty good, fast food and candy available • Parking is free and fine • The obstacle area - room is very dark Sometimes it’s closed during business days and they don’t update the hours, I wish they do, because you waste your gas to get there
Svetlana E — Google review
It's free to get in!? Looks like they've done much with little. No child would be disappointed. There's plenty to do for all ages. The only detractions are that the lights are dim, there's no supervision from staff. There's one dinosaur jump house where kids were doing a lot of pushing and trying to rock the entire thing and kids were falling out and occasionally getting hurt. My suggestion: charge a cover to fund staff for safety.... *** fun fact, there are no garbage cans. You must bring your own trash bag & take your trash home with you.
Rod P — Google review
Very nice . A place where you can enjoy with kids in a family atmosphere. Entry tkt reasonable
My L — Google review
It could use a little sprucing up, but overall, this place was a great way for the kids to burn off some energy on a rainy winter day. And way cheaper than the trampoline park in Kaiserslautern. If you have grippy trampoline socks, bring those for the kids to climb the massive center teepee structure.
Mark C — Google review
The kids had fun but it was very hot in the building.
Kim W — Google review
Not a bad location to take the kids on a cold or wet day. Bring indoor gym gummies or socks with stick bottoms for the kids. Beer benched are first come first served. Food and drinks are allowed to be brought in with you and there is also a bistro to get small food coffee and drinks. Not the biggest in the area but a very friendly staff.you do have to watch out for the older kids they are sometimes a bit to big for the children's bounce houses etc... Playground rules no space for helicopter parents here.
Todd W — Google review
The place is good for birthday parties, although the ventilation is horrible, the place was smelled like socks!

This is a very nice concert hall. Have always enjoyed performances here.
Mark C — Google review
We went there for the Moscow Ballet of Swan Lake. The ticket sales manager had somehow double booked over 29 seats, when I pointed out our seat was filled she was of no help. We found side seating, farther then what I booked. The seats are temporary seats, not comfortable for anything longer then an hour. Also because of the booking issues, the ballet started 20 minutes late and not everyone had their issues resolved. Not professional, not great service. The building itself is beautiful and the Ballet was mostly good, but would not recommend until ticket manager and chairs change.

Freibad Waschmühle is an impressive outdoor pool located in Kaiserslautern, built on the site of an old washing mill in 1908. The pool boasts a total water surface of 7,400 square meters and measures 165.3 meters long. The Art Nouveau-style changing rooms add a touch of elegance to the surroundings.
Great spot! In good weather place packed with people, two little bars- one with beverages, crepes & coffee, another one with alcohol beverages.

Giant pool that was well maintained and clean. However, it was very cramped elsewhere. There was not much shade and the food lines were crazy. We barely stayed an hour and left. The parking is also very small and causes everyone to park far and walk.

This is a pretty cool place in the summer. It's huge!!! A massive pool with water from a natural spring. I've lived in Austin TX and this reminded me of the natural spring pools there! There is also a nice area to sit and have some french fries or ice cream. Clean and well maintained.
Imaan — Google review
Massive outdoor pool with plenty of space to distance yourself from others. The snack bar was very reasonably priced and the service was great. There is also a tiny sand playground and a toddler swimming area. They also have these blue changing rooms all around the pool which are pretty useful. The only reason for my 4 star rating is due to the pool being very dirty!

The pool is okay, we went on a 30 degree Sunday and it wasn’t too packed. Probably because the rest wasn’t too pleasant either. The lifeguards are EXTREMELY strict, I literally saw one speed-walking to a guy because he pushed his sim into the pool. I was whistled at by a lifeguard for taking my floatie into the deeper part of the pool. This is only allowed in the shallow side. No signs anywhere that tell you that. Another guy was called out of the pool because he wasn’t specifically wearing swim shorts but just normal fabric summer shorts for men. Way to ruin people’s days. And the prices at the Kiosk are crazy. 4€ for a tiny portion of fries that tasted okay. I’d rather recommend you go to the pool in Landstuhl. Much nicer overall experience.

Super sweet place! Today 35 degrees and even in the late afternoon space for a towel. Water is fresh, not caloric and comes from a spring close by. The water is not heated up, wich is great to refresh myself and also good for the environment. The bar / kiosk and snack place is a conmen meeting point for everyone and the special treat is beer from a frozen pot. Also the fries are self made and really really good. Coffee 3€ Fries 4€ Beer (0,5L) 4,50€ Entrance 3€

Monte Mare Wellness Spa and Waterpark is a family-friendly leisure destination that offers a variety of amenities for relaxation and fun. The spa center provides rejuvenating treatments, while the waterpark features a wave pool, whirlpool, slides, and a children's play area. Visitors can enjoy quality time with their kids at the pool before indulging in sauna and spa experiences. Additionally, there is a shop offering sports goods on-site.
Today was our first time going, we will be back again. It was clean, great for all ages, there is so much to do it does not get boring fast. We could have stayed all day. The slides were a total blast. Highly recommend.

My wife and I used to visit almost monthly. It's clean, service is great, food is good and it USED to be relaxing. However they've started enforcing a policy of not allowing you to keep your lawn chair. They're trying to "encourage" you to pay extra for your own spot. It's pretty annoying to come out of the sauna and wander around for 10 minutes looking for a place to lay down. Even longer if you are a couple and want two chairs together. Plus they have the "chair police" coming around putting little cards on your stuff threatening to move it. We've started going to another sauna in the area. We'll come back once the weather gets better and they put out the chairs outside. MAYBE we'll have our own spot then.

The pool itself is nice and plenty to do quite expensive for what it is I think. Still enjoyed our visit. The guy in the cafe / restaurant is not very pleasant though I have to say quite rude in fact. We came last Saturday for my daughters 19th birthday and we wanted to get ice cream and cakes and was told ice cream and cake is only sold to children not adults. Really weird ....

Place is fun however it's not too big and can get crowded very quickly on weekends and German holidays . During the week when kids aren't out of school yet, it is less packed. If you like slowing getting in a pool like me good luck you're getting wet before you get comfortable 🤣. Haven't been to the SPA yet but it's not overly packed. It has its own area and looks relaxing. Prices are reasonable and staff are very friendly.

**editing my review. As much as I had a lovely time, I started some type of fungal/bacterial infection on my foot from the spa. So just be aware. My husband and I went yesterday to the sauna and wellness section. He made reservations for massages prior and booked everything online. It was our first time at Monte Mare, my second time at a European spa, so I had a rough idea of how they operate. I will say that the website gives absolutely no information for first time visitors, on what to bring, or how anything is. He did pay in advance to rent the robes and towels. I do agree with other reviews with how some maintenance and grounds up keeping does need attended to, but otherwise it was a lovely experience and not too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. I cannot give any reviews towards the family and children side, only the wellness spa side. As for anyone new to European spas - everyone is naked! I love that aspect, very judge free zone, no one feels uncomfortable, everyone was very nice. I’ll also add that as an American currently living in Germany, I never expect places to have English in addition to German, but with not being allowed to use your phone in that area and everything in German, I can’t use google translate and don’t want to feel like an inconvenience asking what everything things mean (I am learning, slowly). Tips: - Save money and bring your own towels, robes (if you want), and sandals for walking around. You take off your sandals going into pools and saunas. -You can bring your own bag into the area (I saw quite a few of them), and bring some water or snacks to also save some money. My husband bought the ticket that had free cups of water and coffee. - Absolutely definitely try to book a massage. We booked the “ChillOut” 60 minute massage (it was included in the ticket price he booked) and it was AMAZING! 10/10 recommend. We both had great experiences with our ladies. -They give you a token when you check in. Don’t do what we did and share a locker at first because everyone needs their own locker to give you a bracelet (when putting in your chip), and that’s how you get through the gates, pay for things, etc. And then you use it to check out as well. My husband had to go back to get our second token to make a second bracelet to get through the one gate before entering the spa area. Like I stated, overall 4/5 experience. We’ll probably be back again before we leave, but will also try other spas in the area as well. I personally liked my first one better.

I visited the pool with my child. The indoor and outdoor areas are connected, so you can move freely between them, which is great on hot days. The website listed the opening hours as until 8 pm, so I assumed the pool was open until then, but there was a sudden announcement that the pool would close at 6:30 pm. They also said you must leave the facility by 7 pm or you’ll be charged extra, so we had to rush out without even taking a shower. Something to keep in mind. The water slide was thrilling and fun, but for the tube slide there were no staff and no signal lights, so it felt a bit unsafe. Since there are also many deep areas, those with small children should be extra careful to avoid accidents or injuries. The facility itself is small but offers a variety of pools and was enjoyable and easy to use.

Today I called for a facial and full body massage. I was called back immediately and fit in today’s schedule. Anika was amazing. She helped me personalize my services to fit my needs. Definitely the best massage I’ve had in forever. I’ll be back! While they do take walk ins, it’s best to try to reserve in advance.

For my fellow Americans looking to try it out: It's a great local indoor water park. Don't let the language barrier stop you, as it is a great place to wear your kids out. It's probably best for kids up to around 14. Here's the process: -An all day family pass for two adults and all your kids (yes, all of them) is around 22€ -You get these tokens. They are "tagged" to your account, so don't lose them! -You'll go through the turnstile one at a time. Wait for the light to turn green as it "logs you in", then take the token and go through. -Head downstairs. There is over big coed locker room, but with closed small changing rooms you pass through to the actual lockers. There is a side room with hair dryers by the stairs as well. Bathroom/shower areas are separated (Damen=Women, Herren=Men) after the lockers. -Available lockers have the arm bands attached to the front. Stick a token in and turn the dial. Load the locker and take the arm band with you. It has your token in it and can be used to buy food cash/card free, so lock those up. The arm band opens the locker again. Only one person needs the arm band, so don't take up a bunch of lockers. -There are three areas: spa/sauna, lap pool, and water park. Only the sauna/spa needs you to scan your arm band in, because (I think) it's a separate cost. Everywhere else is open to go to. The lap pool has a blow up obstacle course and a shallower pool for general swimming/playing. Yes, bring your pool floaties if you want. -The water park has a bunch of rotating features: wave pool, jets, bubbles, waterfalls, and whirlpool. There are a bunch of nooks to discover and explore. There is even an swim out to an outdoor pool. The water is heated, so it's actually pretty refreshing. -There are two slides. The entrance is to the bottom right as you face the water park area inside. The tube slide is with or without tube. You can just grab one from the pile at the bottom. The top "blackout" slide is not for tubes. Wait for the green light to start on the blackout slide, but go as fast as you want on the tube slide. Recommended age is 6, but no height required or staff manning the slides, so use your discretion. You can go down doubles, triples, whatever. -For food, order and just place your token or arm band on the metal box to add it to your tab. Only eat in the food area. It seemed like you could bring in some of your own food, but I didn't see any rules. -Need the bathroom? Look for "WC" which stands for water closet. That's the bathroom. -At the end, go in reverse order: lockers, changing rooms, then upstairs to turn in your tokens. If you didn't buy any food, just put them in the turnstiles to leave. To pay for food, go to the desk first. They'll scan them, you'll pay, they'll give the tokens back, and then you go out through the turnstiles. Last advice: It can get crowded. Try to avoid peak times for max fun. Enjoy!

Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern is a cultural hub offering a variety of artistic experiences. The theater hosts an orchestra and showcases talented young singers, promising a positive and enjoyable experience for visitors. With its extensive program featuring great performances, including dance shows like FeMale and InsideOut, the venue provides a diverse range of entertainment. Additionally, the theater's staff and production team are highly praised for their dedication to delivering high-quality productions.
This is the easiest way for my parking options in Kaiserslautern. If I am going into downtown for food and/or drinks, Pfalztheater is always where I go. Be wary of your step if there late at night, though. Drinkers are pretty uncaring of where they pee, unfortunately.

Amazing place for students to go because they can pay only 1 euro to buy a ticket if they go an hour before the play.

While Im not the biggest fan of theater I have to say that this place does not fulfil any expectations. Its expensive and the amount of streight up weird theater-pieces played does not improve on that. Especially for the amount of money this facility gets from the state the experience is lacking

This company is trying very hard to meet the artistic needs of the community and do an objectively good job. You can feel all the creative energy and hard work. Orchestra plays well. Great young singers. Some will clearly become starts. Very positive experience.

The Humbergturm stands proudly as an unofficial symbol of the city, reaching a height of 36 meters and offering stunning panoramic views that are simply not to be missed. A recent visit with my three little adventurers—ages 6, 4, and 2—was quite the experience! We parked at Landgasthof Bremerhof and used Komoot for our trek to the tower.
We enjoyed our hike to the tower. The fall colors were very beautiful. It is about an hour of walking in total plus time at the top to enjoy the view of Kaiserslautern and to climb the tower. There were more people than we expected on the trail for a chilly rainy Sunday afternoon. Watch out for mountain bikes on the trail, they can come out of nowhere.

Such a fun and easy hike for kids. There’s a few different trails to get to the top but we parked by the sports complex and gps up. We were pleasantly surprised that you can climb up the tower. Great view from the very top. There’s also picnic tables and benches if you want to bring a lunch. Totally worth the short hike. So much to see.
Koua X — Google review
Came here today (a chilly September 2022 weekday afternoon) with my three kids ages 6, 4, and 2 years. We parked at Landgasthof Bremerhof and used Komoot to get us to the tower. I wore the toddler, and had the older two walk at the beginning. The dirt/gravel path at its entry point from the road was quite obviously not stroller friendly, as it had many roots, rocks, and uneven surfaces. My 4yo made it about 1km before I had to wear her too (I always bring an extra carrier). Even with Komoot, my GPS got a bit wonky at the 5-trail intersection and we had to try a few different paths to figure out exactly where we should go, as 2 trails had the red-tower marker signs posted. Finally my GPS corrected itself and we went up the path that had indeed felt most likely (widest and straight/left). The 1.68km uphill walk took us 1 hour, and the way back down took about 50 minutes. Obviously were moving quite slowly due to my children's pace and frequent stops to pick flowers or shiny rocks, so I'd guess this would be about 30-45 minutes if I were doing it childless. The walk is quite peaceful and pretty, surrounded by tall trees and hints at the upcoming view.t You can just barely glimpse the tower through the trees about 100m away. Around the base of the tower, there are many seating options, both picnic tables, benches with a table, regular benches, and lounge chairs, many of which overlook Kaiserslautern. There are two informatoinal signs, one on a stand and one on the tower itself. The tower is accessed by one of two exterior staircases that have a metal railing and wind around to a door in the opposite side, at which point you enter the spiral stone staircase (with a railing only on the inside and not the outside of the steps). All three of my kids were able to climb the stairs on their own without trouble, though it was dark midway between the occasional window. Once at the top, which is covered and surrounded by tall stone walls that I had to lift my kids over for them to see over, you get a decent view of Kaiserslautern and the forest. There are no informational or directional signs at the top.It is only about 1-person wide, as is the staircase, so it makes for a tight fit with other people at the top or passing on the stairs. Overall, this was a fun excursion if you are in the area a while and want to go for a short hike with a fun rewarding destination, but not any more interesting than any other tower we've seen in the area. Reminiscent of Ludwig Donnersberg tower, but at least this one is free and close to Kaiserslautern, not to mention the added benefit of being so close to a beer garden with a playground at the parking lot!

If your looking for an adventure then yes you found it. First things first when I hiked here I parked at the location called Busparkplatz. If you google this it will take you to a huge parking area you will see plenty as you drive to this location so park where needed. Now that I told you where to park. I recommend bringing some snacks and what not as from the parking spots it takes roughly about 40 minutes via google maps routing you up to the point. Once you are up there definitely go to the top because the view is worth it. Tips for you all go and check when the sunset is for the most gorgeous view you will see. There is even a landmark up there that will show you all the locations. For future travel and food adventures follow my Instagram @officialgetfresh
