Street's Fine Chicken is a down-to-earth eatery in Dallas that specializes in a variety of chicken dishes, including brined, fried, baked, and grilled options. The seasoned poultry is brined for over 24 hours and deep-fried to perfection. The restaurant offers an array of mouth-watering sides and has become known as one of the best dining spots in Dallas.
10/10 must try. I just arrived in Dallas for the first time and this was better than the luxury restaurant I ate at the meal prior. I’m coming back here again tomorrow. Absolutely phenomenal food, service, and atmosphere. Timing was also great! Edit: I came back the next day at it was also excellent! I tried more sides and they were also good! The black eyed peas were incredible the honey biscuits are to die for and they were only 1.50 each!

I was in Dallas over the weekend for my birthday. This was our first stop for a great meal. It was recommended by a bartender at Jr's bar and grill. His advice was on point. I give lots of reviews, and I love giving positive write-ups. I rarely give 5 stars across the board, but this diner deserves the best because they are the best. I had chicken fried steak. My friend had the chicken and dumplings, which he said that to his surprise was just about as good as he'd ever had. His daughter had the chicken fried chicken. She ate nearly every bite and took what was left back to our hotel to polish off later. I'd say she enjoyed it.
Cecil M — Google review
We had a few dishes but the favorite was the chicken fried chicken boneless breast with a side of maple sugar honey Dijon Brussels sprouts. The sauce was more vinegar tasting so stay away from those and the apples law if you dont like vinegar flavorings. The deviled eggs had a touch of heat and we scarred them down. Overall, the place was quick, friendly, and the food was excellent, and the price was higher but in line with a table cloth eatery.
Nathaniel H — Google review
Heard they had great chicken here so as I was visiting the area I wanted to find out for myself. I tried the fried chicken. It was ok. I probably should have went with the broasted chicken maybe it's more flavorful. I just didn't think that would matter because the chicken itself is supposed to be marinated in a ton of flavor. I was really wanting crispy skin so I went with fried. But it seemed to be lacking flavor. What was outstanding though was the Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Those are amazing. And the murals around the building are fun.

If you’re looking for a chicken spot with well-seasoned food and outstanding service, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. It’s clear that they take pride in both their food and customer satisfaction. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu! Ambiance: diner style environment with booths and tables available
TRACEY T — Google review
Gave this place a try since it has so many good reviews but it was disappointing. I had the waffle and chicken and it was completely tasteless, it’s eatable but there’s nothing special. A Dinner has more flavor than this place. Reviews are overrated, maybe because of the location but is not what it looks like. I was even the first person to arrive and thought it was going to be really good but it wasn’t. I don’t think I’ll come back.
Daniela M — Google review
Delicious, flavorful food and great service. Everything is always perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The fried chicken is a unique must try. Don't miss the memorable experience of the mac and cheese with brie. The brussel sprouts are awesome.

Service is very good. Kind and happy staff. Lots of comfortable seating. Chicken very good. Freshly made. .eatload and mashed potatoes reminds me of home cooking. Very good. Large portion of chicken with no bomes. Gravy is awsome

Bubba's Cooks Country in Dallas is a beloved retro-style diner that has been serving up homemade country cooking for over 40 years. Located near Southern Methodist University, this classic spot offers comfort food classics like crispy fried steak, creamy gravy, fluffy buttermilk biscuits, and classic sides such as green beans, mashed potatoes, and black-eyed peas. The Art Deco-style diner also features a drive-thru for added convenience.
The chicken is salty and moist with a fresh fried crispy skin. This place is a must do for anyone new in the area, because Texas isn't only known for BBQ- we've got the best fried chicken and Bubba's is the place to get it. I recommend against getting a breast only because it's huge. Get drumsticks thighs and wings and you'll be more than satisfied. Oh, and do NOT forget to get an extra side of gravy.
Philip A — Google review
Place was super busy but an employee helped guide us through the maze of people (where to order). Everything was delicious and cinnamon roll was warm and tasty. Pancake are lite and fluffy, sausage crispy. I'll definitely be back with the whole family 👍
Victor J — Google review
Food was really good. Ordered the 3 piece with yams, and beans. Everything was good. When at the counter ready to order u guess the manager was there, spoke to everyone but me...I was a little surprised. Maybe she felt like I was ok. But anyways, the counter help was not to friendly, just do you want to order. Not very welcoming. But again the food was good
Greg M — Google review
Honestly one of the best places I have been to. Sort of like a dinner when u walk in u go to the counter and order. Had the chicken and catfish and honestly they were great. Sides a little underseasoned but a personal preference. The staff... wow. Excellent. All very helpful and made u feel like u were part of the family. Def a great spot to eat.
J O — Google review
The fried chicken was perfect. The biscuits and coleslaw were great. I could have done without the green beans and gravy. The gravy was kinda odd. The mashed potatoes were fine.
Robert A — Google review
Wow this place lives up to the reviews. Amazing Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. Deborah the manager helped us out. She's so nice and accommodating. Come try this place out, you wont be disappointed!
Jennifer S — Google review
My sister frequents this restaurant every month when she visits Dallas and raves about the down home flavors. I had a chance to visit with her and had an overall pleasant experience. My only critique is that although the chicken fried steak, fried chicken and catfish were fried to perfection, they were significantly over salted on this particular day. The sides were tasty and delicious and the service was excellent! Our order was served hot, with professionalism, courtesy and a warm smile! I look forward to visiting the next time I'm in Dallas!

Chicken restaurant
Mike's Chicken is a family-owned eatery located in an unassuming corner inside a laundromat in Dallas. It all started when Tram Dao, an immigrant from Vietnam, set out to create the perfect chicken tenders for her son, Mike. The menu has since expanded to include bone-in fried chicken, buttery biscuits, savory sides, and flavorful dipping sauces like the popular 'Mike's Sauce.' Every order is prepared fresh to ensure quality.
When it comes to fried chicken I’d like to consider myself a professional critic and this spot did not disappoint. Seriously. The reviews and stars are well earned. Originally ordered to-go but the chicken exuded so much warmth and aroma, it hit us instantly. We couldn’t wait. Sat and ate on the spot. Food ordered: 3 piece dark meat. ( legs + thighs) The thighs and legs were perfection. Perfect crisp. Perfect level of juiciness. French fries are a MUST! Mashed potatoes hit the spot! (Can’t go wrong with either side tbh) Baked beans were a solid choice traditional and fresh with a twist of their own. Establishment was packed. However, very structured and clean. The place was packed but clean, structured, and well-run. Staff was patient, friendly, and helpful, especially with it being my first visit. They also have a to-go window which you can access from the outside. 10/10! I will definitely be back.
Lina B — Google review
Pretty good chicken! I can see what the hype is about. I especially enjoyed the sauce options. Also reasonably priced. I ordered to go while there and waited for the order. I enjoyed what I got. However, they messed up my friends order. In their defense, I didn't notice until I got home, so they didn't have a chance to fix the error. They were extremely busy when I stopped by, so that may have contributed to it as well. I definitely don't hold it against them. I would happily go back, next time I'm in the area and want fried chicken.
Kaitlin B — Google review
Came to Dallas for a brief weekend and when looking for the best places to eat, Mike’s consistently showed up so I came straight from the airport here. The space was clean and lively with great music in the background and the host did a good job of explaining the menu and setting expectations about wait times. I had the 3pc dark spicy chicken, Mac and cheese, and creamed corn. Paired with the Mike’s sauce, ranch, and honey mustard. Everything came out nice and hot. The flavor for the chicken however stopped at the crispy beautifully colored breading. The chicken itself wasn’t flavorful which was disappointing. The Mac was decent but wasn’t mind blowing. Outside of that I loved the biscuit, creamed corn and the Mike’s sauce.
Becky A — Google review
Finally got to try mikes after so long. Been wanting to try this place for a while. The food is worth the hype. The chicken is delicious. Food was fresh and tasted great. Service was great as well, we went in during lunch hour it was really busy every employee was hustling to get orders out. Some of the best halal fried chicken you’ll have. Definitely worth a try.
Syed J — Google review
One of us has been here before and it seems this visit did not live up to previous experiences. The food was overall okay. Great crisp on the chicken both the tenders and the 3pc dark combo. Flavor wise it was not seasoned very well on the 3pc dark combo but the sauces did help. The mac and cheese noodles were a little on the soft side and the chicken has quite a bit of grease. The did make it fresh though which was greatly appreciated. The fries were good, the biscuit too but nothing special. Only other gripe was that there were no clean tables so we had to clean it by ourselves but they were very busy so it may have been difficult to keep up with in that moment. Service was average. Might return to give it another shot on a day that is not as high volume.
BigBacksRus — Google review
Delicious Chicken! The sides were honestly a let down especially when compared to how amazing the chicken tasted. We were offered Mac n Cheese which wasn’t even on the menu. The Mac was basic at best even though it looked great. The creamed corn was good just left me wanting more from it. The mashed potatoes were good, but the chicken stole the show. This place makes everything once you order it, so be prepared to wait at least 15 mins if not more. It’s usually crowded for a good reason. Their prices are fair for Dallas. Staff were friendly. Overall if you love perfectly fried chicken with crispy skin and juicy inside then come give Mike’s a chance.
Coach T — Google review
Listen, all I can say is much respect to Mike's. I am a picky eater and I rarely eat chicken on the bone, but when I say its fresh always. Its fresh always. I appreciate them for looking out for me too, I was coming from working out of town and placed an order with the wrong pick up time. They still made sure my food was fresh when I got there. You cannot beat it. Quality and quantity for sure. Ill take quality food any day over rushed cold food, that's for sure!!!!!!
Tee B — Google review
Been coming to Mike's for awhile now, but damn not sure if I'll be back anytime soon. 1st off a youngster with the Edgar haircut was dapping up all his people instead of taking my order, someone else stepped in and took it. Absolutely no favor to the mac and cheese also so seasoning to the fries. Chicken was a little dry as well.

The restaurant's specialty, the fried chicken, is brined for 24 hours to maximize its flavor.
Stumbled upon this lovely place! First timers in Dallas and the food was as welcoming as the people. Got the sexy and hot chicken, unforgettable is an understatement. Collin is the coolest!! Can’t wait to go back again🍗
Evelyn C — Google review
Flavors were excellent, service was great. Two of us stopped here before a concert at one of the many nearby venues. It was not very crowded, but we appreciated the extra attention from the staff. We had the chicken sandwich and the B&B bowl. The flavor of the chicken sandwich was incredible, very well made, but the chicken was pretty small for the price. The bowl was plentiful, couldn't be finished, but was a little less flavorful. We will definitely be back, but I think next time I'll try their signature dark meet fry.
James H — Google review
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of the best chicken, hands down. We got a little bit of everything: the chimichurri chicken sandwich, the forbidden chicken, the BNB bowl, the naked chicken, the corn, the habañero mac, the deviled eggs, and some mixed drinks (a mocktail for me!). All of it was insanely good, bursting with distinct flavor profiles. Our server, Muse, was the best -- friendly, fun, personable, attentive, full of cool stories, and all around good time. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
Lauren B — Google review
I love this place. This is my second time coming here! The chicken is AMAZING! It’s a 5/5 easily. The first time coming I ordered the macaroni and cheese which was amazing! It’s not an upscale place, so don’t expect a great wine selection. I asked for a Savignon Blanc, and they stated that it wasn’t chilled. There is not a good selection of ciders. It a groovy dive bar with some good food!
Harrison L — Google review
This place feels speakeasy meets hipster. The Giovanni Jones drink was superb. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was lackluster but the gravy and syrup saved the day.
Josanne H — Google review
Small dive bar feel , but the vibes kinda transitioned more into a neighborhood diner after staying awhile. The staff was very friendly and personable and attentive. The food was AMAZING!!! Take the mashed potatoes featured a very original and extremely tasty gravy spiced with a Mexican pepper that (I apologize) I forgot exactly which one.. the chicken and the sauce with it was great too. The elotes got it done too!! Will be back, I guarantee it!!!!
Blaine S — Google review
Restaurant was easy to get to. Paid parking close by. Server was very polite and helped us decide on the menu items. Drinks were solid. The deviled eggs were ok. The Mac and cheese was VERY good and to be honest I thought fried chicken was just fried chicken but WOW. THIS STUFF IS THE REAL DEAL. So good. Will be back!
Reid R — Google review
My first experience was today for dinner. Why they wait until 6pm to open not sure, I feel especially Sunday for brunch would be a hit! Anyway, Small place, low lit, cold. Perfect for a nap lol, bartenders were super helpful and friendly! I got 4 piece fried chicken. I love that they only serve dark meat too. Also 3 is plenty, these are not small pieces! I also got the deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were pretty salty and I like salt. But great otherwise. Eggs with the home made hot sauce was way too salty unfortunately. The hot sauce has a great flavor and isn’t too spicy. I can’t do too much spice. Now. The chicken.. came out super fresh and hot. First bite threw me a little off lol because it has a cinnamon flavor. I don’t like cinnamon and kind of wish they didn’t use it but everyone is different and I ended up eating 2 pieces anyway because it was good. It was GREAT with the ranch! Very dill strong which I love. Tried it with the lime, the hot sauce, the cilantro, all Good flavor bursts. I will say that I asked for pickles and they said the owner hates pickles so doesn’t allow them and I thought that was silly because it’s not about him. It’s about the customers. I’m disappointed in that personally. Otherwise great place and I’d like to try the sandwich and elote next time! I do wish they have a version without cinnamon, just weird to me lol!

Whistle Britches is a popular spot with three locations in Plano, Dallas, and Southlake. The restaurant offers crunchy and juicy fried chicken served in various formats, including the Sir Mix A Lot sampler and the Tacos Por Favor platter. In addition to their signature fried chicken, they also serve an 8-ounce Angus beef chicken-fried steak that stands out from the competition.
We had a wonderful experience at this quaint location! Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent suggestions. He ensured our orders were correct and fulfilled all our requests. The dishes, as shown in the photos, were visually appealing, and the flavors were outstanding. We look forward to returning to this restaurant for lunch again.

OMG! I came here for the first for Saturday Brunch . From the time I walked into the door, the service was AWESOME! Our waiter Ryan was AMAZING! He was attentive and funny! Great sense of humor! The food was DELICIOUS! I had the Chicken Tenders with pancakes! I had them dip the tenders in the hot sauce they use and it was AMAZING (thank me later)! Y’all gotta try this place!

Whistle Britches is awesome! Excellent food, great service and the atmosphere at this Dallas location is incredible! Now, they are known for their chicken dishes - the tacos are simply the best…and so are those chicken and pancakes - but I also tried the smash burger and that was great too! Very good sweet tea and biscuits too.

I am definitely coming back! I appreciated the customer service. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious! And the Mexican street corn 🤤🤤🤤🤤 The chicken and biscuit was alright. I LOVE fried chicken and to me, the batter wasn’t as flavorful. The biscuit was a bit hard. The mashed potatoes taste like butter (which was not all the way bad but could use seasoning.) Otherwise, it was good nonetheless.

Had a nice dinner. The Hot Dang (spicy chicken) sandwich was recommended and it was good. The cornbread was also tasty. I thought the coconut cream pie was just OK and wouldn't recommend it. Thickest crust I've ever seen on a pie and it wasn't a great crust. Overall, I enjoyed dinner and was glad I tried it. It's a bit heavy for me to eat regularly but tasty enough to add to the list of hot spots.
Jason M — Google review
This is a solid brunch pick, you can’t go wrong with the Chicken N’ Waffles and the Three Cheese Mac. 🤤 The Pickled Jalapeño Pimento Cheese is pretty good, and the deviled eggs are decent but you could probably do with them. I feel like we all liked the Buffalo cauliflower and corn fritters, but my minds a little fuzzy on those. Overall, a great pick, service has been good at each visit and the foods always hot and fresh.
Charity C — Google review
Everything was chicken based, but they do offer meatloaf and fried catfish! Food was decent, our waiter was great! Very patient guy. Fun first time experience, not sure if I would go back. I placed my order with the table and didn’t receive it till 15 minutes into everyone already having there’s. Which wasn’t a major issue because the table was willing to share.
Tay L — Google review
Some average to good fried chicken. The pancakes were huge and there are 3 of those, the tender came with it were good. Although the fried chicken on the chicken benny came warm-cold, which I don’t understand, did we got a dish someone canceled? Also the booth I sat in was so unstable, that I was interrupted by the people sat on the other side all the time, which was 100% not their fault. The dinning experience was just very not good.

The menu offers a variety of options including chicken fingers, wings, tenders, and the popular 'quarter bird.'
Ricky’s Hot Chicken never disappoints! I had their fried chicken sandwich and it was absolutely incredible — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with bold southern flavor. The spice level was just right and had me hooked. I loved it so much, I ended up ordering a second one! My friend and I drove all the way from Austin to Dallas just to eat here again after a long time — that’s how much we missed it. Totally worth the drive. I’ve added photos of the menu and my order — if you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Ricky’s, please open a location in Austin!

I was shopping in the area and I decided to give Ricky's a go on a whim. First impressions were positive, a large line at 4 P.M., a team freshly frying chicken, and a great buzz in the air. Ricky was at the register and helped me decide my order (3 tenders, hot spiciness). There's not a lot of seating inside, so it's an intimate fit in there, but I managed to get a chair over by the trash can. Once I got the tenders, they were a letdown. The breading was falling off in some parts, the chicken was dry and wasn't particularly hot. Upon telling the staff this and seeing if I could get something else, they immediately got me a fresh order of dark meat and it was a night and day difference. The chicken quarter was fresh out of the fryer and steaming once I bit into it. There was plenty of juice and the chicken skin had a phenomenal crunch to it. Overall, the redo was delicious with great flavor and spice. The fries were also really solid, as they had a great texture and the seasoning mix from the chicken. The spiciness level was just right, as hot is about the level of a habanero, so I'd recommend getting some ranch or comeback sauce to cool down your mouth if you need it. The level of service provided by the staff turned an otherwise disappointing visit into a positive memorable experience. I'm hoping that the tenders were a fluke, as I'd like to give them another shot again, but the chicken quarter is simply divine. Definitely worth the hype if you're in the area.

First time tries at Ricky's. Best fried chicken wings in Texas for sure. The staff is very kind and service is super quick. We have 35 people who ordered before us and not a single person mind to wait for 20 minutes. Place was super crowded so there's not a place to sit down to eat. Loved this place. The chicken is so good, and the fries are super crispy with perfection.

Ricky's Hot Chicken is a solid alternative to Dave's Nashville, and I actually like it better. They've got good mac & cheese, good fries, good chicken--really, they've got good everything. And the fact that it's Halal? That's a big win for me. I prefer the Plano location over any other; it has way more seating and just feels more accommodating overall. But I have to say, the original location has some real drawbacks. The hours are ridiculous--you never know when they'll be open. Sometimes they're closed when they should be open, which makes it hard to plan when to eat there. Plus, the staff can be a bit moody, which doesn't help the experience. Overall, it's a decent chicken spot, but the weird hours and service issues bring it down a bit.

I recently decided to give this restaurant a chance, and I didn't regret it. I tried the two options, low spicy and spicy, and I liked them both. As someone who cares about hygiene, it would be nice if they were a little more attentive to cleanliness. Overall, the food tasted good, the staff was polite and I was satisfied.
Sema O — Google review
It's the best hot chicken place in DFW no contest. I love spicy food however this place is another level. Highly recommend asking to test the spice level before ordering because it gets ridiculously hot. Don't forget the comeback sauce.

If you like spicy chicken, this place is for you. Great place to grab and go, and it's a fast service. Limited seating, maybe 10 seats total.
Michelle V — Google review
Came in because I’d heard good things and I’m always on the lookout for great chicken. The food was decent; flavorful overall, though the breading on the chicken was a bit soggy. The fried pickles took quite a while and held up my order, but the staff apologized several times and handled it very kindly. The team members were polite, considerate, and clearly cared about their guests, which I appreciated. My main concern was comfort and safety. The restaurant was busy (always a good sign), but several patrons were wearing anti-Israel shirts and kufiyas, and their conversation included comments about Israel and Jews that made me uncomfortable. When my wife called to ask if she should come in, I hesitated and told her not to; she wears a Star of David necklace, and I genuinely wasn’t sure how people in the restaurant would have reacted. I understand that the restaurant can’t control who comes in, but unfortunately, the atmosphere created by some of the clientele made it difficult to feel safe or welcome enough to enjoy the visit.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is a long-standing chain known for its spicy fried chicken and comforting sides, all served in a laid-back atmosphere. The chicken pieces are large and juicy with ultra-crispy skin, coated in a bronze-colored batter packed with spices. It's often enjoyed with packets of Crystal hot sauce, the perfect complement to the flavorful chicken. While some may label it as Nashville Hot Chicken, many agree that it's simply delicious and possibly the best-fried chicken around.
The chicken and tenders, infused with a subtle Cajun spice, were a hit. The okra, fries, and slaw were equally delicious. The restaurant lives up to its reputation for being world-famous. The friendly staff ensured that we received our order promptly. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place.

The best thing there was the beans the okra was okay. But the main dish I went was for the chicken and it was dried out looked old a burnt. It was hard to chew the crust taste like melted plastic. I should have checked it b4 I left. I asked the cashier did they have hot sauce, and she assured me she put it in my bag. Of course I had no hot sauce In my bag. Very disappointed. I need a refund or my meal done correctly.

Initially we were hesitant to eat at Gus's because of the two reviews about their chicken being dry. I am so glad that we decided to give them a try anyway. We ordered a two piece dark meal and a three piece white meal and our chicken was absolutely perfect! It was hands down, some of the most flavorful and juicy chicken that we have ever had. No complaints about our sides either. We had coleslaw, seasoned fries, baked beans and potato salad. In addition to our food being great, our server was very pleasant, helpful and attentive. We would definitely eat here again!

What can i say? Gus’s is simply put the best fried chicken I had so far. I have been in a few different locations but this one has the BEST fried okra I had in the US! The chocolate pie with ice cream? Worth the calories!!!

Amazing food for a very reasonable price. Don't let haters influence you when you gotta try it yourself first. Very chill ambient around midday and great service overall.

I live 4 minutes away from the Commerce Street location. I must say, I have NEVER had such dry chicken in my life. I ordered 2 breast a side of Mac and cheese and a side of greens and 2 jalapeños. The sides were good. But GAWD DAMN I HAD TO DIP THE CHICKEN IN WATER IN ORDER TO GET IT DOWN. Do better.
Mildred S — Google review
Gus’s chicken didn't disappoint with the chicken but the “ baked beans” were actually poke n beans ( pork and beans) 🤣 yall take a look and tell me! 🤷🏾‍♂️🤣
Devin B — Google review
Fun little fried chicken spot with an intentional “hole-in-the-wall” vibe. Mismatched furniture and eclectic paint colors adorn the interior. The menu is simple—fried chicken and classic sides. The quality of the chicken was fantastic overall. Sides were less memorable, but still good. Fried okra and mac and cheese the best among them. Service was friendly and eager, but not always anticipatory. Great option for a casual lunch.

Palmer's - Hot Chicken, Catfish and Shrimp is a new addition to the Dallas food scene, offering Nashville-style hot chicken with four levels of spice to choose from. The menu includes options like hot chicken on a platter or in a sandwich, such as the popular MotherClucker with pimento cheese and pickles. Sides like pimento cheese grits, baked beans, and coleslaw complement the spicy entrees.
The Nashville hot chicken tenders I ordered were phenomenal. They had a beautiful crispy outside. The freeze also cooked perfectly. The baked beans were a little sweeter than I would have imagined. My partner got the mother clucker sandwich. They said the first bite was a little tough, but it definitely got better with each chew. Mac & cheese is creamy & HOT. PASTA 10/10. Also quite a few dirty tables when I walked in but they got to it immediately. Good vibes ps: LOVE THE PICKLES.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with my family, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it an enjoyable spot for both adults and kids. One of the highlights was the outdoor games, which kept the little ones entertained while we relaxed and enjoyed our meal. (Of course, I had to show off my skills and beat everyone!) The food itself was very satisfying. The tenders were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. While I wouldn’t quite rate the overall experience five stars, it was definitely a solid choice for a casual and enjoyable meal. Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show—the banana pudding! Hands down, the best thing on the menu. If you visit, don’t leave without trying it! Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this place. Good food, great atmosphere, and a fun spot for families. I’ll definitely be back!

Clean order at the counter restaurant in a real nice strip mall. Front part of the restaurant is an outdoor patio with picnic tables. Inside is a bar area and booth and table seating. The staff and the counter was super friendly and helpful. Prices were fair. I had the Motherclucker Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and tater tots. The size of the servings was plentiful. The tots were perfect. The Nashville Hot fried chicken was excellent but unfortunately the bun was hard and dry which distracted from the sandwich. Maybe a little sauce would have helped? Overall I recommend this as a good Nashville chicken restaurant.

Awesome fried chicken! Great service, too. The fried chicken was juicy, crispy, smoky, and slightly spicy. You can make it spicier, but we're kinda tame. The collards and cheesy grits were terrific - not mushy or watery. Definitely will be back.

This is one of my favorite spots to eat!!! The food is outstanding as well as the staff. If you have not tried the MotherClucker Sandmich or their Roasted Chicken you are missing out!!! The Nashville spice is the perfect spice to me with just the right kick. Will forever come here!

Fried Chicken aficionado , biased towards the work and collaborations that James Prince has contributed to- If you have known the area long enough and you know what great fried chicken is, you might recall Brothers Fried Chicken before it became something else. I can vouch for the Novice Tenders being as good as that was. The waffles and corn on the cob are excellent. Service is excellent. It’s too loud when busy for a conversation so know that before you go in if it matters. The “Novice” spice isn’t remotely spicy. I’ve taken three generations of people here and they each enjoyed the food. Given the nature of the restaurant business and vendors combined with this specific location, this review is subject to change based on the aforementioned factors.

Ordered a BLT sammich and only got an L sammich, no bacon or tomato in sight ☹️ it was still good but didn’t include everything as described. The Mac and cheese was good!

This place was pretty good. We ordered the fish nuggets, and the chicken plate (can’t remember the name). The fish was pretty bland but it was fresh so I’ll give it a 7/10. The sauce made it better. I got greens for the side, which were kind of sweet for my liking (6/10). The chicken plate was pretty good, seasoned a little better than the fish (8/10). Macaroni and cheese, bland (4/10). Service was great. The waiter was very knowledgeable and kind!

Celebration Restaurant, located on West Lovers Lane in Dallas, is a beloved home-cooking spot that has been serving up delicious dishes for over 50 years. The restaurant offers homestyle pot roast, fried chicken, and cobbler in a relaxed, family-oriented setting. One of its unique features is the option for seconds on most entrees at just $3.95 per full portion.
Highly recommend! Love, love, love the separate rooms! Made it feel very intimate/cozy. We tried their tortilla soup (very delicious), pear salad (not a fan of blue cheese), garden salad (their croutons are yummy!) chicken fried chicken (tender chicken with a yummy crispy batter), chicken fried steak (very good), trout (a little too buttery for me), red fish (delicious), mashed potatoes (like any other restaurant mash), macaroni and cheese (bland, needs more cheese/seasoning), vegetable medley (good), berry cobbler (good), coconut cream pie (if you are a coconut lover like me, you’ll love this) and banana pudding (it was a no for me). Will definitely return!

Wow. I haven’t had a $20 meal that good in a long time. Very very good. The place has a homey feel, very attentive and friendly waitstaff. I got the trout and spouse got the chicken fried chicken. My fish was great and the tartar sauce was the best I’d ever tasted. We got spaghetti squash, mashed potatoes, and green beans/carrots family style sides. All good but we got seconds of the squash. Finished off with the chocolate pie. Yum!

We went to Celebration for dinner with family during a recent trip to the Big D… venerable old school place, around for decades. The place is cool in appearance, stone building, nice outside patio! The appeal is nostalgia… not good quality food IMHO. The table ordered soup, fried chicken, fried catfish, baked chicken, grilled salmon, and a handful of sides. The lentil soup was very good, but everything else was just OK! None of the food was particularly hot, and with fried food, it’s gotta be hot! The veggie sides were warm at best… seemed most of the food was cooked in advance, which allowed for speedy delivery, but quality suffered. Desserts were also just OK, even the kids didn’t finish them. Service was great! But, beyond that, our visit was disappointing. The place had received a lot of hype from family. We don’t need to go back.

A home style kitchen with shareable plates and local ingredients 🥕 🍖 Pros: - accommodating staff - quiet interior - good spacing between tables - cozy and warm - affordable prices - locally sourced ingredients - fresh flavors and changing menu - the best dinner rolls on the planet Cons: - feels like someone’s house, not in a good way - no decor at all. Zero. - very cramped parking lot with bad accessibility - flavors are overtly rich and over complex - very dark inside, only harsh overhead lighting - not set up for sound dampening, very loud Overall I’m glad I came so I could try the chicken, but once was enough. I will definitely not be coming back to try more of the menu or recommending this place to anyone.

I love it here ♥️ the food is amazing! It’s honestly super tasty. I love the whole house comfort and the service is spectacular. My brother in law brought the whole family over to this spot in August and now my husband and I have been coming almost every weekend. I always order the catfish plate and let me tell you that it’s the best fried catfish I ever had. My daughter loves their rosemary chicken it’s very juicy and flavorful

Celebration has hosted many a family dinner for four generations in our family over the years, most recently for a weeknight dinner with me and my parents. Our server Jackson was attentive, knowledgeable, and just a generally pleasant person. The iced tea was very fresh and my glass was never less than half full, with more ice added on every refill. All of the breads are delicious, my mom prefers the jalapeno cornbread, my favorite are the blueberry muffins, and my dad prefers the more traditional white bread biscuit/rolls. It’s nice that we can each get more of what we want! My dad and I ordered from the daily specials menu, the pork chop with cherry mostarda and southwest chicken. My husband ordered the pot roast and my mom the chicken fried steak. We ordered spinach, fried okra, and mashed potatoes for our sides. The sides are served family style, but you can have seconds on these, and even change sides if you like. We were too full, as this was plenty of food for the four of us on the first course! The atmosphere is charming with remnants of nostalgia in the pictures and wall hangings, and the little enclaves, or smaller dining rooms, really make it feel like you’re eating dinner at home, just out with other people. We’ll be back for sure, thank you for your consistent service and delicious locally sourced menu!

We had the Chicken Fried Chicken and the Walnut Crusted Chicken — both were absolutely delicious! We sat outside and loved the relaxing atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Everything was satisfying all around. Highly recommend this place!

We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor patio. It would be fun on a cool night with their fireplace. I had the chicken salad, which was fine. Nothing spectacular. One person in our party had the all vegetable plate which they liked a lot. I’m not sure if the desserts live up to their hype. I probably would go try this one more time just to be sure if this was my first time there.

Located about 9 miles north of DBU, this casual restaurant serves up grandma's recipes and country-style food using only the freshest ingredients. With 10 locations across Texas, Babe's is a popular spot known for its Texan comfort food served in a family style manner.
I loved it! It's a nice and pleasant restaurant, the ambiance is nice and I liked the food in general. The variety and flavors of the appetizers were good. I recommend you to go here very hungry, my mind was stuck on what I couldn't eat :) The prices are a bit high for chicken, but I think they can be considered normal with the by-products. The staff were polite and helpful. The restroom was clean (this is important for me) I will come back and try the chicken with different sauces.

My partner kept telling me about this place and how amazing the “fried chicken” is here! He was not telling a story! The food is absolutely amazing.. some of the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. You order a half chicken or a whole chicken. Then they bring the side out in what’s called a family dinning. Everyone shares the sides. Every food item that I put into my mouth was bursting with flavor and tasted homemade! It was SOOOO DELICIOUS! Don’t forget to take home the homemade “banana pudding” it melts in your mouth it’s so good! Customer service was a little rough at first by the greeters and cashier. Neither one smiled or acted like they were happy to be there. Our server was amazing. She was knowledgeable of the menu, friendly, and helpful! The price is high.. I always say.. you get what you pay for! Give them a try.. You will leave fat and sassy!

Delicious chicken and catfish. All the sides you can eat. Chicken fried steak, fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken tenders and catfish are your protein choices. Salad, corn, green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy are all never ending sides that are all included with your meal.

My first visit. The weight wasn’t that long for a Saturday night. The service was friendly I would say probably not attentive enough for me with refills. They were a few and far between. The quality of the food was outstanding portions are a bit small. You’ll get refills but they just take time. That’s not fun when you’re waiting for refills and you’re hungry and you wanna eat. I mean when you have five full grown men and you bring two bowls of mashed potatoes each with a couple spoon full of mashed potatoes that’s not gonna last long lol. I like the ambience there and the restrooms were very very clean. Thank you. It was a bit noisy for me. We couldn’t hear each other talk. I certainly would visit again support local

We had delicious food, including family style mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, salad, and biscuits with honey or sorghum. We ordered different meats to share: fried chicken, chicken tenders, smoked chicken, and catfish. Too full for dessert.
Karen S — Google review
I just wasn't impressed by the quality of this place at all. It tasted like everything came out of a box or can. I got the chicken fried steak and all the sides. People say it is so tender, and it is, in the sense that it was the texture of wet dog food. Not good at all. The mashed potatoes tasted like the boxed powdered kind, which are nasty. The green beans had no flavor. The corn was ok and the gravy wasn't very good. Even the biscuits had a gritty texture to them. The pats of butter are frozen solid at the table. I didn't even bother ordering dessert. The sweet tea was fine. The only thing I will say that was good was the salad dressing on the salad, but it was just iceberg lettuce. Nothing else. If you have a family of 10 and need a family style affordable experience eating out, this place works, but don't expect high quality or even mediocre quality. To mention, they bring all this stuff out at once and it all gets cold within seconds. Not a good method. It was a cute venue, but I do not plan on returning.

Hattie B's Hot Chicken in Deep Ellum is a Nashville favorite that has made its way to Dallas, offering a variety of delicious fried chicken options such as sandwiches, tenders, loaded fries with mac n cheese, dark meat tender bites, and wings. The restaurant allows customers to choose from six different heat levels for their spicy chicken. Visitors can expect excellent service and no long lines at this location.
One of the top hot chicken sandwiches spots I’ve tried in the Dallas are after Ricky’s and Dave’s! The spices were perfect on the medium chicken sandwich, the crunch was just right. And the fries with the ranch are just perfect! I’ll come back for sure. Great manager on duty, she was very friendly and hospitable.
Nas214 — Google review
I’ve visited Hattie B’s at least five times, and each experience keeps me coming back. For this visit, I placed my order online: • Fried Chicken Sandwich (Medium) • Crinkle-Cut Fries • Southern Collard Greens • Nashville Comeback Sauce After ordering, I called to request that my chicken patty be cooked well done, just the way fried chicken should be. The front desk team passed my request to the kitchen, and they delivered perfectly. The sandwich had just the right kick of heat, and the spices came through deliciously. The collard greens tasted soulful and the fries and sauce rounded everything out nicely. On top of the food, the restaurant was spotless and the customer service was top-notch.

Not bad, you should definitely check them out for yourself, at least once. Chicken was seasoned well and hot. Collard greens were very flavorful, bacon grits hit and the red potato salad is a no go. I picked up Hattie B’s to go and really enjoyed my meal overall. I tried the fried chicken sandwich as well as the kid’s meal with a medium tender. The sides included mac and cheese as well as french fries. The sandwich was the star of the show for me and was fantastically fried and seasoned. It was crispy and everything you want out of a chicken sandwich. The tender was good and wasn’t quite as spicy as I was expecting for medium. The fries were also solid, not the best I have had but respectable. The mac and cheese was fine to me but I would probably get something else next time. Overall, I was very pleased with my meal and would come back next time for the sandwich.

This is THE place for Nashville-stye hot chicken. This is our 4th Hattie B’s to try and it is just as awesome as all the others. The chicken is cooked to perfection. Crispy and moist, never greasy. They make their own pickles too. You have to try the pimento mac n cheese. The staff was friendly and everything was clean and fresh. You get a lot for your money here. Sign up on their app fir a free dessert. Git the banana pudding and it was awesome. Can’t wait to go back.

I had a lunch order pickup for a mild 3 piece whole wings plate with fries. Great portion size for the price. The food was hot. Personally I didn't care for the seasoning rub on the chicken. The seasoning on the fries was good. Expect to wait a little bit and order ahead. They are always busy and it takes time.

We ordered the hot 2 piece white with fries and a side of Mac and cheese and our boys ordered the chicken sandwich meal. The chicken was hot and juicy and the spicy level was good. Besides being hot and spicy the breast didn’t have any seasoning like salt and garlic, etc. I’ve had Hattie B’s multiple times in other areas, it’s pretty solid chicken but this time it was just mid.

Roots Southern Table is a laid-back restaurant located in Dallas, Texas, known for its contemporary dishes and accomplished chef, Tiffany Derry. The restaurant offers a rewarding celebration of southern staples with accolade-laden full-service dining. Chef Derry's specialties include the famous duck-fat fried chicken and Mother's Gumbo featuring chicken, Zummos andouille sausage, shrimp, and blue crab with a lighter roux.
We had such an amazing time here celebrating our anniversary. The food was phenomenal, the service was impeccable and it was so great to see chefs in the open as you sit at your seats. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to have a special dinner and with a bunch of flavor. My only quick feedback was it was a little loud, and super cold, recommend turning down the air just a little. Parking is a bit challenging, but not impossible.

My husband and I decided to stop by on a Sunday evening and everything was amazing. Because we didn’t have reservations we were sat outside which was perfectly fine. I believe our server was Shelby and when I say she did an amazing job. She did amazing from beginning to end. Everything we tried was great but some of the portion size didn’t match up to the price, especially for the fried green tomatoes which were $20 for two tomatoes but the flavors made up for that. Also my husband wanted chicken but they only served the family portion which was pretty pricey for chicken, $56 to be exact. Being that I don’t eat chicken, I didn’t feel it was worth spending that amount. The cornbread was everything. Overall a must try experience because that’s what you are paying for.
Darlissa T — Google review
Cool southern food restaurant. I went for my ladies sisters bday and they did a good job. We got a bunch of things to share and it was quite a good meal. The sweet potatoes were quite good, I think they could have been a little crisper but they were very good. The garlic herb butter made them super fragrant and it was probably my favorite thing. The chicken was also great, especially the thigh. The breast was kinda dry once you get past the crispy batter, but otherwise it was great. Im not a greens fan so I didn't like them. The corn was was exactly what you would expect. Unique edition was the strawberry compote on the side. The Cajun dishes we got were good but average to me. I've lived in Louisiana so im kinda spoiled when it comes to Cajun food but it definitely wasn't bad. All around a good experience, the staff was nice and attentive. Also a cool atmosphere with a all glass outdoor seating area. If i get a chance to visit again I would get the ox tail because it sounded good.

This was our second dinner before moving to New Mexico, and this was a perfect meal to have. We have heard about Tiffany's place and that it was a must try. It is a must try. The portions are fantastic and have a depth of flavor like none other. In case you are thinking of huge portions, change your mindset. This is a place with technique and skill put into cooking. We had the fried tomatoe appetizer and holy crap. It was fantastic. Also, i'm not sure where they found tomatoes that large. We had drinks, I had an old fashion. Delicious. My wife had the purple rain, and the cocktails are just fantastic. As for food, she had the Texas Redfish, which was delicious and crusted just right. It was just a delicious cooking on the fish. I had the ravioli with crab, which is not on some of the menu's show in the photos. Finally, my wife's grandmother had the fried shrimp and grits, and it was a fun take on shrimp and grits. It was absolutely delicious and something great to try. We did have alittle room for dessert. As for dessert, we had the orange cake which was so different. Moist and dense, but full of flavor. I was a fan, but more impressive was the sweet potatoe creme brulee. This should or would be the ultimate fall seasonal treat to have. Overall, I would go again, but when I'm back in Dallas. That might be a minute. I didn't mention the service and ambiance, it was perfect. The food got most of the praise :)

We have a short list of “will come back multiple times”, but this one was just added. First, if you could encapsulate my grandmother in a restaurant, this is it (except she would have judged me getting wine instead of sweet tea). The service was exceptional. Super attentive and friendly staff. Wine list was top notch. And the food… we started with the cornbread. I’ve had cornbread so many times that I really didn’t know how you could knock it out of the park with this one, but they did! We also split the peach salad which was a great, fresh Texas way to start the meal. My husband and I got two meals and split them both - I got the scallops which were melt in your mouth perfection. He got the Texas red fish which sat on this crawfish dirty rice that really transported you to that Texas/Louisiana border. Dessert was an orange cake (really delicious), but the star was surprisingly the German chocolate cake. Rich, but not too rich. Moist. Absolutely delicious. If they had peach cobbler on the menu, it would have been perfect. On the atmosphere, it was upbeat… it’s on the louder side and the tables are somewhat close (but not too close)… so depends on your likes but we were still able to carry on a conversation and hear one another just fine. Great experience. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Good experience. We had the oxtails, lamb chops, German chocolate cake, peach summer salad, and sweet potatoes. My favorite was the sweet potatoes by far. Whatever they seasoned those with will keep me coming back. The lamb and the oxtails were decent. Cake was good quality. Salad was refreshing. Service, phenomenal! Very professional, they knew recommendations based on cultural backgrounds, and very caring.

Mixed Experience — Great Drinks & Ambiance, but Overpriced Chicken We had reservations and arrived 5 minutes early, but weren’t seated until about 10–15 minutes after our reservation time. We were also told we’d get a booth, but ended up at an uneven table that was pushed together. The waiter gave off more of a salesman vibe, when all we wanted was to relax and enjoy time with friends. The food was okay—not bad, but not spectacular for the price. I do not recommend the fried chicken. At $54 for a 10-piece meal (without sides), it felt very overpriced, especially since you could get something similar at KFC, Popeyes, or Williams Chicken for much less. Definitely overhyped in my opinion. The Hoppin’ John’s and the Biscuits were my spouse favorite out of everything we had and tasted. I ordered a side of greens which was decent, and the hush puppies come with the greens. They call the hush puppies hot water cornbread. However, those born and raised in the south know what hot water cornbread is. I added the photos and you can see for yourself that it’s hush puppies but they call it “hot water cornbread” On the positive side, the drink was amazing. I ordered a blackberry mojito (not listed on the menu), and the bartender kindly made it for me—thank you! My friends enjoyed their meals, especially the New Zealand chops and the Texas Redfish. The ambiance is nice, and the location in the shopping complex is convenient. Just be aware the restaurant itself is quite small—tight and intimate in terms of space. Food: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) – Just okay for the price; fried chicken was disappointing, though friends enjoyed their dishes. • Atmosphere: ★★★★☆ (4/5) – Nice ambiance and location, but small, tight, and intimate space. • Service: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) – Waiter felt pushy/salesman-like, plus a seating delay and table issue, though the bartender was accommodating with your custom drink. 👉🏾Overall: ★★★★☆ (4 out 5 stars) – A mixed but decent experience, elevated by the drinks and ambiance. Beautiful atmosphere and solid drinks, but food value and seating experience could be improved.

Barbecue restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Dallas Design District, Slow Bone BBQ is a must-visit for lunch enthusiasts craving mouthwatering smoked meats. This casual eatery evokes nostalgia with its cafeteria-style setup and plastic trays, making it feel like a step back in time. Open only until 3 p.m., it's the perfect spot to indulge in hickory-smoked brisket and crispy fried chicken, both of which steal the show on their menu. But don’t overlook the sides!
This was proper Texas BBQ. Order at the counter and proceed down the line for all your food. The Brisket had just enough fat on it to be moist and had a taste that could make you cry. The ribs tasted like bacon just firm enough for a good bite but still ready to come off the bone. The chili Mac was a delight of comfort food that made me wish it was cold outside so I could warm myself with an entire pot of it. The collards were not bad. Small patio area for outdoor seating and a decent sized parking lot. The line moved fast but the employees were super nice and helpful. They also had a nice beer selection which was really great to get a local beer to go with the meat. Really our favorite BBQ spot of the many we tried.

The food and overall vibe at The Slow Bone were fantastic. The signature dishes all looked incredibly tempting. I went with the Texas Nail sandwich and a piece of their award-winning fried chicken. The sides were a highlight, making it tough to choose just a few. I settled on the horseradish potato salad, mustard slaw, and a sweet potato with pralines for dessert. The sides were hearty and delicious. The jalapeño sauce on the Texas Nail added a fantastic kick, though I wasn’t crazy about their BBQ sauce. The solid beer selection was a big plus! The service was excellent—staff were friendly, patient, and attentive. The restaurant itself is cozy and well-kept, with tables in the back and high stools up front. Parking can be a hassle during peak times due to limited spaces. Pricing: A bit steep, especially for the sides, which kept it from a perfect 5-star rating. Overall, it’s a great spot for top-notch barbecue. Will I return? Absolutely!

If you find yourself in Dallas and haven’t been to Slow Bone BBQ, you’re seriously missing out. This place is a straight-up Texas gem. I rolled in with an appetite and left absolutely satisfied after devouring their ½ pound brisket—it was smoky, tender, and melted in my mouth like it had been crafted by pitmaster angels. The crispy tots and sweet, crumbly cornbread were the perfect sidekicks, making this meal one to remember. From the second I walked in, the staff was welcoming, upbeat, and quick to serve, even during a busy lunch rush. The vibe inside is casual and fun, with a laid-back, down-home atmosphere that invites you to stay a while. There’s no pretension here—just great food, friendly people, and plenty of room to stretch out. Whether you’re dining solo or bringing the whole crew, there’s ample seating and parking, which is a rare and welcome surprise in Dallas. What really stood out to me is that Slow Bone isn’t just for the hardcore meat lovers (though they’re in for a treat). They’ve got thoughtful options for vegans too, making it a spot where everyone can find something delicious. This place is now firmly on my list of go-to BBQ joints—not just in Dallas, but anywhere. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe even grab an extra slice of brisket for the road. You’ll be glad you did.

I got fatty brisket, hickory sausage, and pork ribs. It was all tender and juicy, good flavors, but nothing special. Ribs were a little too peppery. Brisket lacked a little flavor, but the bark was good. Service was great. I wouldn’t be opposed to coming back

Friendly service. Delicious BBQ. I had the smoked turkey with grilled squash and brisket beans with hush puppies - very good. My husband had the Texas Nail sandwich and said it was really good. Our friend had the porkaholic and enjoyed it.

“Slow Bone BBQ: Where pork chops are measured in pounds, not ounces, and fried chicken makes you rethink life choices.” TL;DR: Bring your appetite and maybe a wheelbarrow. Order the pork chop, brisket, ribs, hush puppies, horseradish potato salad, and for heaven’s sake, the fried chicken. Save room for the Fluffer Nutter Banana Pudding, or prepare to negotiate dessert rights with your spouse when you get home. For the 16th stamp on my Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ tour, I pointed the truck toward Dallas and rolled into Slow Bone BBQ on a Sunday afternoon. The lunch rush had come and gone, but the pits were still working like champions, serving up award-winning meats that have made this place a Dallas staple for over a decade. I walked in and felt like a kid staring at the world’s most glorious meat counter. Brisket? Check. Pork ribs? Oh yes. And then, like a sign from the BBQ gods, the Sunday special: a pork chop the size of a cowboy’s saddle beckoned me. I didn’t hesitate. On the side, I wrangled some horseradish potato salad that had a kick like a mule and a serving of “Brussels Flower” au gratin that I picked up to take home for the Side Dish Queen herself. Toss in some hush puppies, and I was one happy man. Dessert? The Fluffer Nutter Banana Pudding. If this thing didn’t make it home, I’d be sleeping in the truck. Pitmaster Jeffery Hobbs himself stopped to chat, and let me tell you, this man is not just a pitmaster, he’s a brisket whisperer. My tray arrived, and the pork chop was a showstopper: perfectly smoked, juicy, and thick enough to be a meal for two but destined to be conquered by one determined Uncle Sean. The ribs were tender and rich with smoke, the brisket melted like butter, and that potato salad had just enough horseradish bite to make me grin like a fool. I boxed up the leftovers, proud of my restraint, only to remember I had not secured any of their legendary fried chicken. I stormed back in, ordered two pieces, and the staff fried them up fresh on the spot. That chicken? Pure magic. Crispy, juicy, seasoned like it had been blessed by a grandmother who’s been running cast-iron skillets since 1930. I made it home without taking a single bite, and my wife and I shared it like royalty unwrapping treasure. Best fried chicken either of us had tasted. Passport stamp achieved. T-shirt stamp earned. Sunday well spent, belly full, wife happy. I’ve got 34 more stops to go, and if they’re anything like this one, I may need a bigger truck and a looser belt. They call it Slow Bone, but my appetite worked through that tray at lightning speed.

Went to slow bone today as we make our way through the Texas Monthly top 50 - plus we saw them on diners, drive ins, and dives! The Meat -Pork Ribs were excellent! Had such an amazing flavor. Only downside - they were cold. Not room temperature, but legitimately cold. -Brisket was really tasty, I enjoyed the flavor that came from the wood they use. I will note that it is really fatty (even when requesting lean). -Fried chicken was amazing! The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The Sides - Fries and tots (not pictured) were so yummy and the only side I’d get again. -Mac and cheese and okra (not pictured) we’d pass on. We weren’t a huge fan of the sides. The corn bread was the best my husband has ever had! Parking available, no wait, great service. I’d definitely come back!

The diner's menu features boneless fried chicken options like tenders and chicken fried chicken, as well as indulgent chicken and waffles variations. In addition to the savory offerings, patrons can enjoy an array of comfort food favorites including fish & chips, Greek omelets, and smoked salmon eggs Benedict.
High prices equals huge portions! If it's not homemade I'd be very surprised! Chicken Fry and pot roast was definitely not pre-made. Hard to tell about the fish and chips but did not taste pre-made. Everything was great including our waitress!

I've never been here before but I had a good time. Our waitress was good and she was on the spot. She was just a little too anxious at times when she came to our table two times in short consecutive times to see if we were ready to make our order. Otherwise, I enjoyed my waffles, and I enjoyed my food. Our waitress was also very good and kept our drinks flowing and checked on us to make sure everything was good. 👍👍

Came by for brunch on the weekend with my friend, my first time and had a really good experience. We went on Saturday afternoon, and it was actually very busy, booths along the wall and tables in the centre. We ordered Poutine with white gravy and Chicken & waffles with turkey sausages. The food was actually decent, the home fries were crispy. Chicken tenders were juicy and the fries to gravy ratio was good. Big portions but wonderfully cooked.

Generous portions with plenty of menu options, including some unique dishes you don’t often find. The food presentation is impressive, and the service is excellent. It does get busy and crowded, but the staff handles it well. While food can take a little time, everything runs efficiently overall. Reasonable prices

Flagship chicken sandwich was great, and nice presentation. Cabbage rolls were excellent and a staff member explained coloring due to dye and offered a differ option if we didnt like them. They were wonderful. Was about a 10 minute wait but food and service were fast once seated.

This was our third time at Maple Leaf Diner, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious — we had chocolate chip pancakes, cinnamon roll pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and French toast. Everything came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. Service is always on point, even when it’s busy. We only waited about 10 minutes for a table, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The vibe is classic diner comfort, great for small groups or families.

As a lifelong fan of waffles and breakfast, this is the best for chicken/bacon/waffle ever! The waffles had a light crisp with a very light interior. The chicken was moist, and fried to a crispy perfection. The Canadian maple syrup drizzled over it all topped it all off! Great service, efficient, and reasonable prices.

Luckys was so good. The smashburger was cooked perfectly, the garlic parmesan fries and fried pickles were drool worthy, and the ranch (plus the jalapeño ranch!) was spot on. The lemonade blew me away — better than 🐥fil-As, and I’ll definitely be back for a whole gallon. Left full, happy, and will definitely be going back soon.

Old-school charm meets new-school vibes. This spot nails it with their cool design cues and aesthetic touches. The staff were genuinely friendly — they took time to explain the concept, walk through the menu, and even encouraged some customization (always a plus). I went for a customized Classic Smash Burger, paired with Shake Fries and Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade, plus their house honey mustard and Lucky Sauce on the side. I also tried one Chicken Tender with Hot Honey and another dipped in Korean BBQ. Both tenders were delicious — I kinda wish I’d ordered them “Skinny Style,” but either way, they hit the spot 🤤. The smash burger was solid, though maybe not quite worth the hype. The house honey mustard though? 🔥 Absolute standout. The fries were decent (“mid,” if we’re being real), but way better dunked in that honey mustard. And the lemonade — wow — tasted like real homemade lemonade, definitely a step above CFA’s. 🍋

A short wait but they are well aware and gave a us a complimentary banana pudding that was delicious. Made me almost glad there was a wait. Otherwise I ordered a deluxe burger and bone in wings. All of it was great. I didn't snap a picture of the wings cause I was to anxious to try.

A very nicely done setup with excellent service. However, I didn’t enjoy the food. The chicken quarter I ordered had an overly thick coating that overpowered the flavor and completely hid the chicken inside. Unfortunately, it was a miss for me. Not to forget the complimentary cone they offer which was indeed very good.

No.1 Plus Chicken is a low-key spot known for its Korean-style chicken and classic dishes, open until late hours. The menu features a variety of options including battered hot wings or nude wings with a choice of sauces like yangyum, soy, garlic, mango habanero and crack cheese. Prices range from $13.95 for eight to $55.95 for 32 wings.
It’s always amazing to see more and more establishments offering halal options, and No. 1 Chicken is doing it right. We usually go to their other location that’s closer to our house and have always enjoyed the food there — it’s become a regular spot for us. But this time we were in the area and decided to stop by this location, and it was great to see that they also carry halal items on the menu. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took the time to clearly explain which items are halal and which aren’t, which we really appreciated. We ordered their wings in two flavors — honey garlic and buffalo — and both were on point. Crispy, flavorful, and served fresh. It’s not just the food that makes this place great, but also the care and hospitality they show their customers. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re looking for halal-friendly options in the area.

No. 1 Plus chicken has a great assortment of Korean fried chicken. The waiting staff was nice, but it took a while to seat us and for the food to come out. The Korean fried chicken was good and very tasty. Teokbokki was also great and the chicken being halal is a huge plus!
Ammar A — Google review
Good but could be better. There was so much dressing on the onion salad that it was almost soup! The kimchi was very blah, like it came from Costco. The chicken was crispy and hot but the traditional sauce they used on it was ice cold. That made the chicken taste weird. The dry rub is no joke so be careful with the spice level you chose.

Great spot to eat and investigate how Korean style 😋 fried chicken is a whole different experience. Usually, we go to BBQ chicken for chicken and taeboki . We were not disappointed. Don't sleep 😴 on their sweet potato fries.

A Flavor Explosion at No.1 Plus Chicken - Dallas: Cozy Comfort, Fiery Delight This place is a true hidden gem that's quickly become my go-to for an unforgettable chicken experience: No.1 Plus Chicken - Dallas. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and intimate ambiance. But let's talk about the star of the show: the chicken. Simply put, it's amazing. What truly sets No.1 Plus Chicken apart is their masterful command of spice. For those of us who appreciate a good kick, their spice levels are dialed in to perfection, hitting just the right note without overwhelming the incredible flavors of the chicken. An absolute must-try is their chicken mix with spicy. This dish is a revelation, offering a harmonious blend of textures and an explosion of savory, spicy goodness that will have you reaching for more. And if you're a fan of classic comfort, their chicken wings are equally stellar – crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. As if the fantastic food wasn't enough, No.1 Plus Chicken offers an excellent bonus: a dedicated bar section. This elevates the entire experience, allowing you to pair your incredible chicken with your favorite drinks, adding an extra layer of fun and relaxation to your meal. Pecan Lodge is a renowned BBQ eatery that offers a wide selection of smoked meats, sides, and desserts, along with an assortment of beer and wine. The establishment boasts an impressive lineup of pitmasters with diverse culinary backgrounds. Their signature BBQ is prepared using a traditional method involving mesquite and oak wood, earning them recognition as one of the top four BBQ joints globally by Texas Monthly.
There is no shortage of BBQ choices in Dallas and Pecan Lodge is my favorite for a few things. The pork ribs, burnt ends, turkey are all top notch. The brisket, beef ribs, sausage are great as well. I can't comment on any other meat...I've not had it. Side, haven't had those either. If by some chance you leave room for somethin sweet, absolutely make it the peach cobbler! Depending on the day, the outside patio is a great place to enjoy hanging out and listening to som live music. I highly recommend going to Pecan Lodge if you are in the area!

The food was very good. Fast paced line and food came out about 5 minutes after ordering. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money if you are going with multiple people. We bought the trough it came stacked with enough meat for everyone to eat on and plenty left over. The sides were good but not anything to out of the ordinary. The baked beans were the best of the sides definitely recommend. All of the meat was good and tender besides the burnt ends they were on the drier side. All around everything was good definitely had a great experience.

🔥 The Pecan Lodge – BBQ Heaven! 🔥 I’ve tried BBQ all over Texas — Houston, San Antonio, and Austin — and honestly, this place might just be the best of them all. 😍 🥩 Beef Rib: Juicy, tender, and perfectly warm — you don’t even need silverware to enjoy it. Easily one of the best I’ve ever had. 🦃 Turkey: Delicious and juicy too, with the perfect flavor balance. 🎶 Atmosphere: Great vibes all around! There’s live music, a spacious terrace, and a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. If you’re a BBQ lover, this place is an absolute must. Come hungry, stay for the music, and you’ll leave planning your next visit.

We heard from a few people that this is THE place for Texas BBQ. The line was long but there was no wait at the bar. The food came out very quickly. The brisket and ribs were tender with good seasoning. The BBQ sauce was good and adds to the flavoring. The fried okra was fried okra. I would recommend a different sides. The slushy margarita was delicious on a hot day but getting the swirl of flavoring was not worth the extra $4. The classic margarita would’ve been just fine. Overall the food was good. If there’s a short line or seatings at the bar, try it!

One of the contenders for the top pitmaster in deep ellum. The brisket was both tender and moist with plenty of smoke. Some of the best I have had. The burnt ends was less consistent. Some are juicy while others were dry. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Good alcohol pairings for great bbq.

Family and I are big time bbq eaters. This was our first time here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our party had 6 adults and 1 child. We opted for 3 lbs of beef ribs, 0.5 lbs pork ribs and 0.5 lbs brisket. 1 qt. jalapeño mac and cheese, fries, Okra, and beans. -Beef ribs: 7.5/10. These ribs were full of meat and easily came off the bone. They had a good smokey flavor. They were full of flavor! -Pork ribs: 5/10. Although they had good flavor, they were very chewy and were harder to take off the bone. The ribs were very small and had very little meat on them. -Brisket: 8/10. This was the best flavored food! They might have overdone it just a bit with the strong smokey flavor, but it was very well seasoned. Easy to cut into and very moist. The sides weren’t amazing just ok. The favorite for us all was the Mac and cheese. Didn’t have a strong jalapeño taste and had a good consistency. Overall, we definitely got our moneys worth. The tangy sauce is what really held everything together. The homemade lemonade mixed with tea was great. We wouldn’t be opposed to eating here again :)

Not sure we're to start. The pork ribs was a big disappointment. No flavor and hard to swallow. They looked good for the eyes only. The Brisket was dry also with no flavor. The pulled pork was okay just full of fat so you have to pick through it. The Mac was okay. The beans was okay. The okra was cold a hard. Peach cobbler let's just say I ate the peaches. We were highly disappointed. The BBQ was made with 0 effort one was super watery and sweet like sugar water with a mixture of sauce. The thicker sauce was okay. $98 down the drain. We tried our best to give it a fair taste every bite was more disappointing. What BBQ place charge for initial bread. It doesn't matter that is .75 per slice its the point. I expected it to be close to Terry Blacks, Not even close. Best part we did get our cold food fast as there was no line on a Sunday. Will never return.

Went here after visiting the Bush museum for some lunch. I had researched the top BBQ places in Dallas and this one came up so I gave it a try. Definitely has awesome vibes with live music and cool staff. But the food was just… eh. I ordered a two meat plate with brisket and pulled pork plus macaroni and cheese as my side. First, the mac and cheese was delectable. Easily the best part of the meal. The brisket on the other hand was very fatty. Not sure if that’s how Texans like it or not. The pulled pork was mostly really good, but a few parts were super burnt. It was also served with a side of onions (yay!) and pickles (yuck). I guess everything in Texas comes with pickles if you don’t specify. The food was just… okay. For what I paid I expected a lot better, hence the rating.

Ellen's is a beloved Southern diner located in the West End of downtown Dallas. This classic eatery is known for serving up generous portions of comforting, hearty dishes such as fried chicken, sandwiches, salads, and burgers. However, what truly sets Ellen's apart is its dedication to grits – offering a variety of creative preparations including cheesy Cajun shrimp grits and deep-fried grits. Breakfast lovers will rejoice at the fact that Ellen's serves breakfast all day long.
Warm, friendly atmosphere, off the beaten path, recommended to us by a chef at a different restaurant. Breakfast and lunch are available. We had a short wait for a late breakfast. Good strong coffee and a special coffee. Enjoyed Joe's balls Sampler. The crab ones were our favorite, and Ellen's should bottle the sauce that accompanied them, excellent. Pancakes were fluffy and not sweet, and I loved the soft, whipped butter. French toast was cooked the way we like it. Crisp on the outside, moist in. Biscuits and gravy were good. I would have liked more sausage. Home fries are good. We wanted the pancake pot pie, but they were out, we were told they sell out fast. We will definitely try again if we're ever in the area.

I had high expectations after reading the amazing reviews, but I was disappointed by the food, which didn't justify the 45-minute drive. The shrimp and grits were just okay in terms of flavor, while the pimento cheese had a good taste. The Ella’s punch drink resembled a mimosa with a slightly stronger flavor. However our service was amazing but I won’t be returning again.

Update 1/13/22 Decided to have birthday dinner here and it wasn't as pleasant as our first visit. The waitress (Skylar?) has zero personality and customer service. What made that even worse is we had a big group so she got a $50 tip for doing the bare minimum. My family brought a cake for my birthday and we were told we could not cut/serve it ourselves, they would have to do it for a fee of $25. $25 to cut the cake that I brought!!?? Absurd! The only thing that was cut was our evening, we ended up having to take the cake back home to finish the celebration. Really sad about this. Original post: First visit here. Ordered burger, chicken fried steak, taters, Mac n cheese. Everything was delicious. We also got lucky and went on Throwdown Thursday and had half price drinks! The perfect margarita was really good and the cocktails were delicious!

We've been trying to get to this location & had the time to come in. It started a little sketchy because they walked us all the way to the back by the bathroom & the manager's office. But after that it was great. Service was good & so was the food. The breakfast pot pie was good but needed more seasoning & gravy because it was a little dry.

Service was great, food was hot & fresh. Our waitress, Crystal, was so nice & took care of us. The oatmeal was bland but everything else was really good! We’ll definitely be back to try other options.

THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Such a great blend of flavor and good sized portions for the price. The blood orange mimosa was to die for. To tie together this great experience the service here was the best I’ve had in a long time. Our server frank was very kind and attentive. We will definitely be back next time we visit Dallas.

I had the French Toast with strawberries and it was OK, but nothing spectacular. It needed to be soaked a bit longer and was missing flavor. It needed more cinnamon. I got the oatmeal to go for the next day & it was really good & a large portion. Waitress was wonderful.

Stop here for breakfast because they were open early at 7am. I ordered the Big Ol’ Breakfast with garden scrambled eggs and a side of berry fruit mix. Everything was delicious with emphasis on the egg scramble that was fantastic. The French toast was good and very filling, I was not able to finish all of my meal. I had a cup of coffee that did the job however nothing spectacular there.

My wife and I celebrated our 11th anniversary here, and it was unforgettable! The shrimp & grits were amazing, and my wife loved the Lazy Susan sampler (perfect even without meat). Our server Kristian was fantastic, and the atmosphere was spot on. The highlight was Janie, the night manager, such a ball of joy! She made us feel so special, even surprising us with a thoughtful anniversary gift as we left. Truly above and beyond service. Ida Claire gave us not just a meal, but a memory we’ll never forget. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

Love this place! Their brunch is unlike any other. Love the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, honey cinnamon latte, and drip coffee. The location is so cute with so much charm and whimsy! Service is great as well! We came on a Sunday morning and the place was busy but we didn’t have a long wait at all for a small group.

Came by for lunch after an appointment and was pleasantly surprised by how nice this spot turned out to be. It was quite busy, so we were seated on the patio, but with the beautiful weather, it actually worked out perfectly. The staff was attentive and very helpful with recommendations since it was our first visit. We started with the fried green tomatoes and biscuits, both of which were delicious. Our drinks were excellent as well, and I appreciated that they offered some great mocktail options. For the main course, I ordered the chicken and waffles, the coffee-infused syrup gave it a unique and flavorful twist that I really enjoyed. The blackened salmon, however, was a bit underwhelming. That said, dessert completely redeemed the meal. The “Vice Cake” (a stout cake layered with coffee buttercream, tobacco syrup, chocolate ganache, candied bacon, hemp seeds, and sea salt) was incredible, and it paired perfectly with the macchiato. I finished off with an iced lavender latte made with local coffee from Richardson, which had amazing depth and flavor, the perfect way to end our lunch.

Came here to have Brunch with my sister! Food was pretty good! I had to return my first order (Shrimp and Grits)and replaced it with the Chicken and Waffles. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. Our waitress was professional and very attentive! I would come back with the hopes of a 5 star experience!

Had a great lunch outing with the family at Ida Claire! The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for relaxing and catching up. I had the burger and fries with a margarita — everything hit the spot. The burger was juicy, the fries perfectly crisp, and the margarita balanced just right. Definitely one of those meals that reminds you why dining out is worth it. We’ll be back for sure.

I am in disbelief that I have not left a review of Ida Claire! This is always a hit. The biscuits, the gravy, the candied maple bacon, the chorizo sausage patties, the FRENCH TOAST (Seriously, you are not going to finish this no matter how hard you try), incredible. Even when it is busy, which... it's is usually always busy. Such a great place. Our server was awesome and on top of things. Drinks are spot. You have to book at least by Tuesday or Wednesday if you want a good brunch time spot. If it is a holiday, plan way ahead. Mother's Day, Easter, you gotta get them weeks in advance for a prime spot, but worth it!

Ida Claire was one of those meals you don’t even stop to photograph. It was that good. The only pic I managed to take was of my mimosa, made just right with a splash of OJ and the rest champagne. I ordered the fried chicken with lobster mac and cheese, and every bite was worth it. My server was excellent, attentive, helpful and made great suggestions without hovering. I’ll definitely be back.
Deira C — Google review
We enjoyed the ambiance and decor. We decided to sit at the bar due to the wait (a good choice). I ordered the lobster mac & cheese, and while I enjoyed the dish it lacked flavor. I was unsure if this was deliberate to ensure the lobster popped or due to the busyness. I sampled the VICE cake, intrigued by the tobacco syrup in the description on the menu. The balance of sweet and salty was superb. The cake was a tad dry but overall pretty good! I would love to try the brunch and breakfast menu!

Oddfellows is a bustling coffeehouse and diner located in the Bishop Arts District, offering American fare from morning till night along with cocktails. The rustic-hip atmosphere makes it a popular spot for breakfast or brunch, where you can enjoy dishes like Bread Pudding French Toast, Brisket Hash, and Croque Madame Benedicts. The patio seating provides great people-watching opportunities while sipping on Mimosas.
We sat outside and the atmosphere was amazing. There was a family celebrating a personal event and they all came to brunch. They were laughs and singing, but at a subtle volume. The service was amazing always can out the smile and a great attitude and willing to do anything to help. I got the eggs Benedict, which was the best I’ve ever had in my life. I also enjoyed a couple cups of Oddfellows brew and a French press. My girlfriend got the chicken fried steak, which she’s raved about since we’ve been together having driven to Dallas for years just to eat here. Charming, Clean, Delicious, need I say more….

Make sure you are prepared to wait! Small place with good food! Service was fast and food was really good. That limited seating is only drawback, for brunch on Sunday be prepared to wait at least an hour.moderate prices on food ! The chicken and waffles is enough to feed 2 people! Drinks are reasonably priced!

LOVED this place!! It gives me Breckenridge, Vail, Denver vibes, and it's in town!! The omelette was very good. The water was likely triple filtered, which I enjoyed and the cafe latte was good. Not "knock your socks off" good, but quite solid.

The food was amazing I recommend the oddfellows Benedict, fried green BLT with the kids waffles. For drinks, we got the pink cola da refresher ( alcohol free). And mango refresher. The service was quick we got our food 2 minutes after ordered. And of course the background was not loud if you are sitting outside. You have music playing in the background.
Elizabeth G — Google review
The food was good, but service was slow because our waitress had way too many tables. She was running between the patio and inside, so it took a long time for her to come back with our check. Also, I didn’t like that there aren’t separate bathrooms — just two stalls for everyone, which caused a long line.

My first time to Bishop Arts, only had an hour for lunch and this was the first place I walked in. Fantastic patio and food, and the weather made it feel like vacation. I want to explore Bishop Arts deeper and Oddfellows was a great start and their patio may be hard to beat. This was $20, included the huge carafe of cold filtered water ... a perfect lunch for 2.

Our server last night was really sweet although she never told me her name. I personally thought the appetizers (spinach croquettes, devilled eggs, and charcuterie board) were awesome. The main course however, super mid! We had the chicken fried steak and potatoes and green beans which lacked flavor. The shrimp and grits literally tasted like an amateur cook ran in the kitchen really fast and threw something together - again, no flavor. The buffalo Mac and cheese was decent. Then we had bread pudding which honestly tasted and had the texture of undercooked French toast. I was kind of disappointed and this is a place I would go only for the appetizers. EDIT: okay we revisited this location but this time we went for brunch. Their brunch is solid. 5/5!!!! So I adjusted my rating from 3 to 4 stars overall because their breakfast is really, really good!

Norma's Cafe is a long-standing restaurant that offers classic Southern comfort food in a casual diner setting. It has been a staple in the Oak Cliff neighborhood for years, serving up generous portions of homestyle dishes like chicken fried steaks and giant cinnamon rolls. The owner, Ed Murph, has expanded the Norma's brand to other locations while maintaining the vintage charm of the original spot.
Nice little hometown feel all day breakfast diner with homemade food, and a lot of options to choose from for foods to eat. I ended up getting the homemade biscuits with [sausage] gravy (There are a lot of gravy choices here so that’s important haha). The biscuits were melt in your mouth and buttery, and the gravy was well-seasoned. My friend got the meatloaf with fried okra, and mashed potatoes with [brown] gravy. The meatloaf with red tomato sauce with peppers over it was really tender, moist and delicious and the gravy on the mashed potatoes had a really good flavor. The interior could use some updating, but that’s par for the course for a hometown diner, and it’s clear from the patronage and the parking lot that this place is well-loved.

Food was good & portions were large. Our only complaint was the coconut cream pie was mostly merengue. The coconut layer wasn't even as deep as the crust. It cost $18.99 & I have to say, it was definitely*not* worth it. I posted a couple of pics. The chicken fried steak was good but not appropriate for those with dentures. The chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, dressing, corn, cream gravy, fried pickles, & CBGB were really good.

Driving through Dallas and stumbled upon Norma's cafe. Very clean restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive he had a lot of tables going, but he got them all. Our order was correct and the food was excellent. The biscuits and gravy with grits are the bomb. The chicken fried steak was very delicious onions rings right on point. Lemon pie with the meringue is excellent. Stop by and grab some good food.

It's a nostalgia thing. Food is not amazing, it's just simple, standard, but something about eating at a dinner draws us back to this place every time. Decent prices, great staff, speedy service. We do love going to Norma's and many others do too because on weekends it's always packed with long waits.

Also, thank you Regina for your hospitality and great service!

It was so good, we went back the next day! We were in Dallas for a conference and wondered where to eat dinner. We spied this little café that had great ratings. The ratings are legit. On the first night, I had chicken fried chicken and my husband had meatloaf. The cfc was cooked to prefection. My husband loved the meatloaf. Don't get me started on the cornbread. It's to die for. On the second night, we both had omelets. They were huge and really good. Service was fantastic. Very kind and very quick. I asked if they would plleeeeeaaassse open a location in Atlanta. Rudy's Chicken is a beloved local gem in Dallas, serving up mouthwatering fried chicken since 1995. This cash-only establishment has become a staple for those craving delicious, hot chicken paired with perfectly seasoned fries. Located in Lancaster and known for its simple yet flavorful offerings, Rudy's serves its signature chicken on slices of white bread alongside spicy peppers—ideal for soaking up any extra grease!
First time having it i threw up. Can't say for sure it was the chicken. So i attempted a second time but google site did not warn me that they stopped serving drive thru at 4:30. Today a man advised they ran out of chicken. Ill give them grace as the State Fair is happening and price inflation or demand could be low. I take into consideration althat this family owned business is also taking that into consideration. I was advised kindly to return tomorrow and i was offered something complimentary for the inconvenience at my request. The man smiled and it shwed true customer service as it was also close to closing time. Eventhough they ran out of food. I went back to try to offer a small token of my appreciation to the gentleman. There was also an on duty officer to advised people that the store was closing. This shows that the business is taking into consideration of all things as the location is near other shopping places and near a dart and heavy traffic. The outside of the business was clean and I look forward to giving this business an opportunity to see how well the bird really clucks.
Rasheid R — Google review
The chicken was very good and warmish, the fries were hard and cold. I didn’t get what a paid for so check your order before you drive off. I paid for a breast wing thigh and drumstick.. I got 2 wings instead of my breast and the employee said nothing about it being substituting anything. Good chicken
Dan G — Google review
Do not expect service with a smile. I must say I was greeted with rude service . I thought I give this place another chance and the rude experience was similar. Their chicken has good flavor and is moderate on the salty side. I must say that this restaurant is over hyped.
Daryl H — Google review
It’s just not the same anymore. They don’t season it like they use to (if any) the customer service, if you can call it that is lacking. The chicken is never fresh. This was my third time within a month because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but after waiting in line for 42 minutes to be served cold fries, bland and lukewarm chicken on top of them being out of almost every side, I just couldn’t bare it. Hendersons has taken the ranks. They also have added automatic gratuity without having a sign that displays this. So now you’re adding a tip for bad service and nasty food? It’s sad at this point. Sub par at best.
Sissy T — Google review
Honestly, how is this place still open? Do yourself a favor: drive in the opposite direction and stay at least 10 miles away for your safety. The chicken was awful – unevenly seasoned, some parts bland, others overpowering. Beyond the bad food, the location felt genuinely unsafe; I was truly scared of a carjacking or even a shooting. This isn't just bad food; it's a bad, dangerous experience, bad customer service, and a complete miss for 'hood food' standards.
Jo O — Google review
The Chicken is PACKED with flavor! The fries are PERFECTLY SEASONED! And the Banana Pudding is the BEST in DALLAS!!! I left my card at the drive thru in case any of my fellow Rudy's lovers need any work done! (I asked 1st before leaving it on there)
Pace A — Google review
This use to be a fantastic place but now it suck’s. The fries were cold/ we waited for 50 min to only get COLD CHICKEN AND FRIES. I took my mother there for her first experience because when I lived in Dallas some years ago it was good food. Disappointing is what we were served. BEWARE OF SLOW SERVICE AND COLD FOOD. They do take CARDS NOW.
S B — Google review
I decided to try Rudy's for the first time today because everytime I drove by they had long lines. Positives: They passed their recent health inspection with a score of 91. The food came out fresh, hot and fast. The chicken was a beautiful dark golden brown with a crispy crust with fries and a pepper. Looking at my plate reminded me of Golden Birds chicken growing up in LA. So my expectations was high. My mouth was anticipating the first flavorful bite. Negatives: You go up to a windows that was not see through. So you can't see the person you are talking to. To place your order they had to open the pharmacy drive thru looking drawer to take your order. Then your food is ready the pick up drawer is opened and you have to hope that is your oder because no other words are exchanged after order was taken. As I said in the position the food presentation was good. But my god! When I took that first bite I was shocked. It was the most disappointing thing I ever tasted. There was no flavor whatsoever. The crust takes like flour cooked in old grease and the chicken had no taste. I mean there was no seasoning (including no salt) used in the batter and the chicken was not marinated. So I tried a second bite and couldn't get past the old stale grease taste. I ended up giving my meal to my dog. For me to say Raising Cains chicken tasted better then Ruby's that is saying a lot. I've had better fried chicken at the hospital. This is not a place I would recommend or have any desire to try again.

Super Chix is a popular casual counter-serve restaurant that has gained a strong reputation for its delicious fried chicken sandwiches, hand-cut fries, and frozen custard. Located on Preston Road in North Dallas, this newcomer to the culinary scene has quickly made its mark with its mouthwatering menu. The restaurant offers a variety of chicken options, including fried or grilled tenders with customizable flavors, as well as flavorful hand-cut fries.
The service here was great! I was greeted as soon as I entered the door. The restaurant was clean and chilled environment. So I learned you get to pick it you want your chicken fried or grilled and what flavor you want added to your tenders. You also get to pick the flavor of your fries. I had the Buffalo tenders and the rosemary fries, both great options. I wish the fries were fried a little harder, but other than that everything was good. I’ll be back here. The food also came out quickly and they gave me complementary water while I waited.

I love this place! We always receive the best service, and their salads are top tier!! I get the house salad with fried chicken, and omg, it’s fantastic! 😍😍🤤 The portions for the price are well worth it, and the strawberry cheesecake custard is tasty too! This is our go-to place if we need a sure thing. They never drop the ball. 10/10 recommend.

The sandwich was absolutely delicious, the fries were good but not great. The salad was a salad. The day I went they were short staffed so I can understand that there may be difficulties. I was disappointed with this visit because I couldn’t get what I originally wanted since they said they were out of breading and we waited a little over 30 minutes for our food. Managment was very nice and you could see everyone was doing their best. I would go back to enjoy the place at it’s full potential.

Best affordable chicken sandwiches we had in Dallas so far. We tried their Nashville Hot and Black Cajun chicken sandwich paired with their sweet hand-cut french fries. Their flavors are rich. The people were nice and the place was clean. We will definitely go back!

Went for a late lunch today and the food was great. It is a bit more expensive than some other fried chicken restaurants but its worth it in my opinion. Food is freshly made to order. This is the regular size rosemary pepper fries and they definitely don’t skimp out! The fried chicken is also flavorful. Side note: Cashier was friendly and helped keep tables clean during their down time which is great considering I dined in.

Super energetic, enjoyable atmosphere. The chicken was perfectly breaded for a sandwich and I love that it was on a hawaiin-style roll. I had the chicken mini and it was a great size for a quick lunch. Even during a busy lunch hour, I had my food within five minutes after ordering. The staff were friendly and engaging. They have craft soda which is normally something that bothers me, however the brand they serve is very good! To top it off, the pricing is very fair and I really appreciate that they have a mini sandwich at half the price for those of us with smaller appetites!

We just happened upon this place today & were not disappointed. Hubby & I love Korean food, so this was a great place for lunch. There aren't really any servers to take your order, you do it through a kiosk and the folks behind the counter will bring it out to you. These burgers were AMAZONBALLS!!!! So freaking good!!!! 😋 The flavors were incredible! If I'm not mistaken, I believe there is a bar inside. They have a great variety of Korean food to choose from so give it a try 👍

Recently went to bbbop Seoul kitchen after a long time, it was my first time at this location though. The place has a real chill vibe, perfect for a weekend afternoon or evening. I ordered the bowl with chicken and rice dumplings and was completely blown away by the portion size. It was quite big. Taste wise, I liked it, didn’t blew my mind partially because the chicken wasn’t as tender I expected it to be, probably because the chicken pieces were a bit chunky. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t eat at this place again. I’d definitely recommend it if you are in the area for a good lunch.

I ate the bowl too quickly to take a picture. This has been one of my favorite spots for a long time. I have never been a big fan of fries, but thier curry fries are absolutely fantastic! Not heavy, and has a lil kick to it. The Korean Garden is my favorite cocktail here and they recently started doing boba as well, which is housemade. The texture of the pearls is spot on and the Thai Tea with boba hits the spot. I will always get the Glass noodles with Bulgogi. Rich and filling with a great balance of flavors. The atmosphere is somewhat calming to my nervous system even when busy. There is many layers and dimensions to the layout. I can't wait to come back!

I recently dined at BBBop Seoul Kitchen and had a fantastic experience. I ordered the Old School Bop with Tofu and a half order of Kimchi Fries with Tofu, and both dishes exceeded my expectations. The food arrived quickly, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself had a welcoming atmosphere with plenty of seating and a quiet ambiance—no overly loud music, which made for a pleasant dining experience. The Kimchi Fries were outstanding—possibly the best I’ve ever had. The combination of crispy fries, their special sauce, egg, and kimchi created an explosion of flavors that was both rich and satisfying. We also opted to have the Old School Bop served in a cast-iron sizzler, and it was absolutely worth it. The flavors were bold, and the crispy texture of the rice added a perfect finishing touch. Every dish felt like great value for the price, making it a satisfying and affordable option for anyone craving Korean flavors. I highly recommend giving it a try. I will definitely be returning!

Absolutely love the chicken. I ordered the “not your mama fried chicken” for my husband and I with two sides and extra sauce on the side. The flavor was exquisite however we were disappointed by the portion of the sides and sauce. It’d be a 5-5 if the side portion were bigger.

Great restaurant! Casual/counter order establishment! Wonderful staff. The food is great and very generously portioned! I ordered the “for realz” bowl with beef.
Sam G — Google review
First time eating here overall, I would definitely go back. It’s not your traditional Korean barbecue. It’s more of Korean barbecue with a twist or modernized. The staff was super friendly, which makes the world of difference when dining at any establishment. Only thing I will complain about is the restrooms need some love. I have an extreme eye for detail and you can tell the restrooms are not well-maintained on a consistent basis, based on the pockets of extreme dust, cobwebs, etc. if they get those restrooms in order, I would gladly make this a five star review. Food came out hot, and in a timely fashion It is a real chill atmosphere great for first dates, a meet up spot, or just going out to grab a bite.

Chicken restaurant
Babe's Chicken Dinner House is a local chain known for its fried chicken and classic American sides, all served in a cozy, rustic setting. The restaurant offers hearty, family-style chicken dinners that are perfect for both kids and adults. Customers rave about the delicious buttermilk biscuits and the mouthwatering chicken fried steak. The food is described as flavorful and made with quality ingredients, with crispy yet tender chicken and standout sides like mashed potatoes and gravy.
We ate at this location in December and had a great experience! In traditional Babes fashion, their maximalist Christmas decor just enhanced our dining experience. The iced tea was fresh and flowing with frequent refills. Fried chicken was great - breading not too thick, perfect with honey. Sides were perfect! Service was great! Overall a great night out!

Food was really great! Our sever was super new but extremely attentive and helpful. My only complaint is we couldn't take the sides home we already had at our table, it just felt like we were wasting foodaswedidntfinish everything. They also had green beans and they straight up tasted burned to all hell lol. I get there are unlimited sides but I do feel it would be okay to take home the ones already on the table and not be able to get more. Otherwise, it truly is a waste. We got fried chicken and it was great. We just got full quickly. Great and timely staff though! Will definitely be back!

Probably one of the worst chicken fried steaks I’ve ever had. Maybe I came on the wrong day. It’s a sad day when the sides were the best part of the meal. The green beans were good. The corn was very sweet. The biscuit were tasty. Their gravy was pretty good, but couldn’t make up for the sub par chicken fried steak. Their fried chicken & tenders were good. I definitely should not have listed to our waitress about the chicken fried steak as she made it sound great but left me disappointed. Service overall was average. Overall I really wanted to like this place, but my entree was such a disappointment.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got here. I wasn't sure what to expect, it had a homle atmosphere like you were sitting in your dining room. My server came up and I asked her for a menu and she said that it's basically five things. I opted for the smoked chicken which was delicious and they gave me a fried chicken leg to try. They also gave me bowls of the sides from corn, okra, green beans and potatoes. They also brought me a salad and biscuits to start the meal. Well worth the money which was very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

The servers are amazing and cheerful. Quality of food is always on point. The atmosphere is great- I love the mom & pop feeling. It’s a family style buffet. Our favorite sides are corn and masked potatoes. The main course is all tasty! Our preference is catfish and fried chicken It’s a must if you are ever in the Garland area.

First time here and it didn't disappoint! In fact, it was awesome! They have 5 choices for meat: fried chicken, chicken tenders, cf steak, smoked chicken, and catfish. All the sides are bottomless and served family-style. The food is delicious and service was great. Definitely want to come back here the next time we're in the area!

I was there with a large group this past Saturday 11/1. First time here so just walking in was quite welcoming. Very organized and ready for large group of around 30. Wait staff was very good at their job. Friendly and helpful is a Plus. Food was tasty and idea of bowls with the sides was a first for me. Food was tasty with a country flare. Overall very enjoyable will be back.

This place does simple food so well. Sometimes it’s just about basic food executed extremely well. This is a no frills place that’s putting out some of the best chicken and sides I’ve ever had. The chicken has that signature southern fried taste and the sides are simple but perfect with biscuits Grandma would be proud of. They also have RC Cola and amazing sweet tea to pair with the food perfectly. Babes is taking basic and making it a 10/10 experience.

Restaurant
Yardbird Table & Bar is a trendy restaurant with an industrial-chic vibe that serves classic Southern comfort food and features a bourbon bar. Situated with picturesque views of Klyde Warren Park and the downtown skyline, it's an ideal spot for a leisurely Sunday brunch. The menu showcases Southern favorites like the Chicken & Egg Sandwich, Chicken & Waffles with spiced watermelon, and the Yardbird Cinnamon Roll.
I got the BLT, Blacked Shrimp & Grits, and a Fried Oreo and 3 drinks. The food was delicious! I would have liked for our entrées to come out at the same time, though. It seemed like we were all eating at different times. It was also pretty toasty in there but overall, 10/10.
LeAndra M — Google review
This place is such a vibe! The location is in the heart of downtown Dallas with a parking garage located right across the street. The entrance can be a tad tricky and require circling the block a few times, but it’s super convenient and the restaurant validates! There is outdoor sweating, but the interior is just chef’s kiss. Their Caesar salad was such a unique take on a classic, and they weren’t wrong when they said they’re famous for their fried chicken! The service was also fantastic and our waitress made sure we had an excellent experience.
Christine W — Google review
Yardbird was a surprising blend of luxe and relaxed. From the exterior to the interior, the aesthetic is captivating and IG worthy for those who like to capture content. The foods menu is a fun mixture of classic American and Black American cuisine with a twist. I had the shrimp and grits which was arguably the best I’ve had in my adult life. A perfect blend of savory salt and sweet and plated perfectly. The experience could have been heightened if our waiter was more attentive as he forgot to refill my drinks after asking him 2-3 times and he failed to tell us that refills are not free. He also neglected us when we requested our to go containers and check, it might have been passable if it was a busy day but it was Monday afternoon and it was not that busy. Additionally the outdoor patio although beautiful smells really bad, not sure if it’s because of trash nearby or something else. The music outdoors is a little loud compared to inside. I do wish the playlist was more relaxing vs clubish, certainly not a necessary music choice for this kind of venue. Spent roughly $75 total for 2 mocktails, 1 order of deviled eggs, 1 shrimp and grits. I would pass on the deviled eggs in the future as it was very salty and taking away from the overall taste.

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting, with a gorgeous patio area lit by warm, hanging lights. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion or a nice night out. The service was top-notch from start to finish. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. And the food... wow! We started with the deviled eggs and biscuits, which were both fantastic. For our main course, we had the famous Lewellyn's Fried Chicken, which was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered several sides, including the delicious collard greens, crispy Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac and cheese. Every dish was a hit! The portions are very generous, and we had plenty of leftovers to enjoy for Sunday dinner. As a plus to our wonderful experience, we even got to witness a beautiful wedding proposal in the main dining room – so awesome! I highly recommend Yardbird for anyone looking for incredible Southern food and a wonderful dining experience. We can't wait to go back!

I had an amazing experience at Yardbird in Dallas! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, and very clean—a welcoming and elevated vibe from the moment we walked in. Our server, Austin, was phenomenal. He knew the menu inside and out and gave confident, thoughtful recommendations that really paid off. His attentiveness and professionalism truly made the experience stand out, especially compared to other restaurants visited on this trip. We came as a group of five—each of us ordered different cocktails and entrées, and everyone enjoyed their meal. It’s rare that a group this size has a unanimous win across the board, but Yardbird delivered. Exceptional food, drinks, and service. Definitely a spot I’d return to and recommend without hesitation.

Yard Bird Restaurant – I ended up in the ER after dinner. What was supposed to be a great night out with my daughter turned into a horrible experience. We decided to try Yard Bird for the first time. We ordered an appetizer and then both ordered the salmon. When the food came, everything seemed fine at first until I got to the middle of my salmon. The texture felt off, and when I looked down, it was raw in the center. Cold in the middle but cooked on the outside. My daughter checked hers, and it was the same way. When the waitress came back, I let her know. She admitted it shouldn’t have been raw and took our plates to the kitchen. About 15 minutes later, she returned saying that “next time” we should order our salmon well done. This was our first time there and nowhere on the menu did it say the salmon was served medium or raw. The issue wasn’t about paying for the food, it was about being served undercooked fish and the lack of accountability. What should have been a nice evening ended with me in the ER. Very disappointing experience and definitely not the level of service or food safety I expected.

Me and my partner went here for our anniversary and we had an amazing time ! Let me tell you THIS , them collard greens and cornbread as an appetizer had us FOAMING at the mouth ! Too good yall . Justin was our server and he was phenomenal!!!!! I actually pranked his managers telling them he was terrible but I truly just wanted to pull their leg a bit because the experience in all was too good . From the drinks we had that my fiancé hijacked lol to the food . The drink was called “toes in the sand” , and it was great and since he does not drink, it was the perfect sweet drink with the hidden goods . He enjoyed his chicken and waffles and I had Lewelyns chicken which was great as well . Personally I’d ask for my chicken a tadddd bit more crispy but overall , such an amazing anniversary dinner and we’ll definitely be back ! Please continue the outstanding service , it’s hard to come by these days in Dallas and this was surely a top tier experience . See yall sooooon !

Incredible!!! I am so glad we went to this restaurant after the art museum. We started with drinks, an old fashioned and an aperol spritz. Truthfully, it’s hard to find a spritz made correctly, but this bartender was ON TOP of it! Perfection! We started with the Texas Twinkie and the deviled eggs- jalapeño and bacon. Both were extremely tasty! The Texas Twinkie is sweeter than I expected, but it was so good! We then ordered the jambalaya pasta, the short rib, and a side of the Mac and cheese. The short rib was so tender and fell apart with my fork. The Mac and cheese is nothing short of decadent. If the short rib was on top of the Mac it would be heavenly. The pasta for the jambalaya pasta was perfectly aldente and the shrimp were succulent. There was so much food, we took home half of everything! We then ordered dessert beside our better judgement and I am glad I have poor judgement. It was heavenly!! I would 100% come back to the restaurant or visit another location in a different state!

Over the years, it has expanded to multiple locations, maintaining a commitment to quality by using only fresh chicken and adhering to the family’s secret recipe for mouthwatering fried chicken. So 4am is a strange time to find yourself at a drive through, but if you do, better hope you went to this location... these guys were bada$$. The two guys I saw were super friendly, very sweet, fast with the food, and it was still hot when I got home. My dog and I will be back. (Maybe at 4am maybe some other time. ) good job guys!

I had chicken from this location today it was very dark & perhaps look like it had dirty oil. The taste was okay and the customer service was incredibly rude and no empathy at all, she said here like I was one LD her kids, when she replaced the chicken. Oak cliff do better

As soon as I got my food which I waited 20 minutes plus from the drive thru for, I asked for two of the same pieces of chicken but one was significantly smaller! Ugh. Then my fries were in the big bag instead of in the meal Duh no! Got other people snacking on my fries! Lol No! Then when I got home and opened up my box I guess they rushed the food or something because all of my gizzards fell out the box! And I was mad! Then the hot sauce was runny from the packages and smelled bad, other than that it was good.

If I eat Williams it's always at this location because they've been the best....hot food, service etc. Today I went around 3:30 cause didn't feel like cooking. Ordered the 12 pc mixed and fry...get home and the wings, were they pigeon wings? These were wings the size of drummettes, literally. And the miniature sized box of fries when we ordered a large? I was too tired to turn around but would definitely leave a review. Because of my other experiences I may continue to order but it is off- putting

I don’t understand why anybody can complain about this location of Williams chicken. Their chicken is always fresh hot. The people are nice compared to other locations. I live in North Dallas and will drive all the way to Illinois and 35 just to know my chicken is fresh and nobody is going to be rude to me. I mean I guess everybody has a. Bad day, but at someone who comes here regularly I have no complaints.

Had a great experience tonight after a bad experience at another location. I went to this location and went through drive thru and I thought the speakers weren’t working so I drove through with out ordering. However, I realized the speakers were working as i heard the car behind me order. I told the young man at the window that I didn’t order and can come inside since I didn’t want to hold up the line. He said no worries, took my order and food was out in seconds! The food was so good 😊, so thanks!

As another review stated, the chicken was dry from being overcooked. Unfortunately i knew what was going to happen when i saw that the people working there are not who I expected to be working there. When i want chicken, i want soul people. When i want tacos, i go to a mexican shop. The Williams chicken brand is being ruined due to the demographic change in ownership

Visitors have praised the unique experience of being the first to order at Dave's, likening it to stepping into an unforgettable moment curated by Dave himself.
I was greeted by Paris once I arrived at the restaurant. She was very helpful while I was placing my order. When I picked up my order Jocelyn handed it to me with a smile. Ask if I needed anything to just ask her. My daughter wanted extra sauce and Kaylie at the counter was very sweet with giving it to her as she was shy to ask. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Will be coming again

From the time we walked in until the time we left was a great experience! We were greeted as soon as we opened the door! Initially we were going to do take-out but because of Dre we decided to stay. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave us different options. His service was amazing!! And he didn't stop moving the entire time we were there!! Cleaning tables, restocking the drink area, emptying the trash, everything! He and the staff showed great teamwork! And the food... hot, fresh, and delicious!! We don't really stay in this area but we will be back!!

Decided to check it out after hearing rave reviews. Happy to report that the food did not disappoint - I love that you can choose your perfect spice level. The medium was perfect and didn’t overpower but still brought the heat. Shoutout to our cashier, Paris, who was super chill and helpful. We loved the choice of music, perfect volume for internal conversation but not over powering. The food was hands down amazing… Fair warning… the sliders are massive. Eating more than one I would be impressed. Great quantity and quality of food here in mesquite. Sara was absolutely amazing up at the front. She noticed us standing back looking at the menu and helped us out with understanding the entire menu. She is incredulity knowledgeable, has a great attitude and smile. Smackbird Hot Chicken is a popular "ghost kitchen" concept by Cowboy Chicken, offering a delightful treat for those within their delivery area. Customers can choose between tenders or sandwiches and select their preferred heat level from "No Smack" to "Hard Smack." The chicken is described as crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with flavorful options that stand out compared to other well-known chains.
We LOVE this place. Very few places meet my needs and my 13 year old’s likes. The sauce- a perfect tangy compliment to chicken. The coleslaw is so tasty- not bland like at most places. And custom-spice levels ensure the perfect outcome for everyone in the family. Now the most important part: fresh, tender chicken. All for a very fair price- starting at $11. My first experience was a Door Dash of Smackbird. Today, we came in. Service was great. Even gave us free drinks while we waited for our order. Taste was equally great!! If you like your sandwiches messy, this is the place! If you don’t, choosing “on the side” during your order was easy through Door Dash and in the restaurant. PS: Smackbird utilizes other restaurants kitchens for their product. So, the store front, specifically this one being Cowboy Chicken, may not be what you’re looking for when following maps. Don’t be fooled! The food is great!
Stevie B — Google review
This was my first time trying and it was pretty good. I love the freshness of the food. I got the tender meal with Nashville Hot and Hot honey which wasn’t anything too special. It came with 2 sides and the street corn was the star of the show! Honestly I could go back just for the corn.
Jaleecia H — Google review
Highly recommend checking Smackbird hot chicken out. This is a ghost kitchen type deal so make sure you order through website before arriving. Food is Incredible. Ordered the Chicken sandwich with good smack sauce. Perfect level of heat. I think any hotter would be too much for me to handle. Dippers with jalapeño ketchup was also delicious. Staff at location was incredible and friendly. Made sure to include everything we asked For.
Josh D — Google review
Ordering food should not be this complicated. No direction on where to order if you actually go to the venue. Does not accept cash although it’s registers are connected to Cowboys Chicken. Waste of time. I would have to assume the food is as complicated as the owners make the service.
Chris M — Google review
Favorite hot chicken in Dallas! Usually we get smackbird delivered but decided to eat in one time and see what that experience was like. The staff at Cowboy Chicken were great about showing us how and where to order from the Smackbird menu. They have a self service kiosk at the end of the counter that you select items from. It's pretty easy to use. As usual, the food was great. It came our hot and the chicken had a nice crunch. Im a fan of hot and spicy foods but the "good smack" level is about as high as I can go and still enjoy the meal. Sides are great too. The coleslaw and mac n cheese are lifesavers when the heat gets to you. Eating in was ok but we'll probably just continue to order it via delivery.
Mallory K — Google review
Great food for a great price! I ordered the 4 jumbo tenders (half GoodSmack, half HotSmack), creamy coleslaw, and the banana pudding. The jumbo tenders TRULY are jumbo. I made two meals out of the tenders. The creamy coleslaw is delicious, and the banana pudding even better. I forgot to take a picture of the banana pudding. Let me just tell you that the HotSmack is no joke. I eat spicy for a living and had tears rolling down my face and an upset, burning tummy. It was good, but I will never order the HotSmack again l, despite my love for spicy food. There are slices of bread underneath which are a nice touch, but I do wish they were on the side instead so as to not get smushed and with seasoning all over. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place!!
Rozmin M — Google review
Very friendly staff, I decided to EAT IN.  Very rare but I wanted a fresh order for my review. mmmMMMMmmmMMMmmmmmMMmmmm.... Them some good eatens! I wanted to see what the chicken sandwich was about and it delivered in delicious fashion.  I don't normally make it a point to eat the bread and I left no evidence of existence.  I choose the 2nd highest heat sauce but I'll try the hottest the next time I return.  All sides (MAC and Fries) were tasty.
Juan M — Google review
Five stars in an understatement. Seriously. Go try this place. Popeyes and Chic Fil A don’t even hold a candle to this place. I ordered from here twice, first time getting the 4 piece combo with a good smack level of heat. It was phenomenal. A little too spicy for me, but oh the flavors and the color. The outside is perfectly crispy and the inside is SO juicy. My hands afterwards looked like I dipped them in a bag of hot cheetos. It was so good i had to go back and try everything on their menu. Pictured you’ll see a two piece tender combo with a light smack heat level. Good smack was better, but this made it more manageable for my weak spice tolerance. With these I got the burger (light smack, also amazingly delicious), banana pudding, mac and cheese, and potato wedges. Best side is def the potato wedges which are perfectly crispy and come with jalapeño ketchup, followed by the banana pudding (the graham cracker crumbs elevate it), followed by the mac and cheese which was good but paled in comparison to the chicken. I would’ve taken a picture of all of it but I ate it too fast. Come here and get a good smack, it won’t disappoint. My only regret is that my spice tolerance isn’t higher.

Hillstone is an upscale restaurant chain known for its stylish and spacious ambiance, serving a variety of American dishes including burgers and steaks. Formerly called Houstons, the restaurant has maintained its high standards over the years, providing consistently excellent dining experiences. Customers praise the attentive service and delicious food, particularly highlighting dishes like spinach dip, French dip, grilled artichokes (in season), and the Thai Mango Noodle salad with added chicken.
Great experience, very friendly staff with good food. This location is very busy, so having a reservation is helpful. I didn't try the drinks, I just wanted something quick, so I grabbed a salad.

Namesake restaurant of Phoenix based Hillstone Restaurants. They are known for their French dip sandwich which is made with thinly sliced prime rib. It truely is the king of all French dips - nothing I’ve tried anywhere else comes close. Their ribs are good too as is their house smoked salmon appetizer.
J F — Google review
Hillstone offers a warm, upscale atmosphere that sets the stage for an enjoyable meal. The staff was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu, especially when explaining their signature dishes. While the appetizers — chips, queso, and salsa — were a bit underwhelming, everything else more than made up for it. The ribs were the star of the show: incredibly tender and surprisingly packed with flavor. The Hawaiian steak was also a standout — juicy, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The baked potato was hearty and flavorful, and the creamed corn was a delicious surprise — rich, sweet, and definitely a side dish worth trying. The french fries were crisp and satisfying, but what really elevated them was the seasoning served on the side — a flavorful blend that could honestly be used on just about anything. It’s a great add-on that enhances every bite. All in all, Hillstone is a place I’d highly recommend and definitely plan to visit again. Excellent food, great service, and a laid-back yet refined vibe — it’s well worth your time.

The food was great, artichokes were my favourite and the steak was cooked to perfection. Overall, nothing jumped out as extraordinary…. Oh wait! Miss Jordan sure did! She turned what could have been a very average night into a 5 star experience with her charm and positive attitude. Not only was the service perfect, I never had to ask for a single thing. She anticipated every need and made us feel like her only table of the night. I know this is a more upscale restaurant but a better TV wouldn’t kill you!

I am in love with the Hawaiian Ribeye and I am a Filet Mignon type of gal. This steak is packed with flavor. It is my favorite menu item that I have tried thus far. I’ve also tried the Prime French Dip. It wasn’t my cup of tea. I didn’t care for the texture of the meat and I am not a fan of shoe string style fries. These fries get hard fast. I prefer a thicker cut. Cocktails are strong and the kind that make you want to order a second one . The atmosphere is classy but relaxed. Overall, I’ve enjoyed each and of my visits to Hillstone and I think you will too.

This place is always a solid spot for good food. My go-to order is the artichoke dip and kale chicken salad. Service is always great here too!
Renay D — Google review
Hillstone has gone through several iterations over the years….. at one time at the peak of the restaurant at its finest quality and with an amazing team it was called Houston’s. I used to frequent this restaurant about four times a week . Sometimes I would go to lunch and grab their club sandwich, which was by far the best in town. By the way that doesn’t exist anymore.. Or I would go out for an evening have a few drinks and enjoy a nice steak . That is just a distant memory from what I experienced yesterday . The weight was long ….. service was about the same I would get at something like IHOP or salt grass. Not saying it was bad, but definitely not saying it was good. It started with an order placed at the bar for a dirty martini …. The bartender was not in a very good mood and didn’t seem like she put much care into the making of the drink. I ordered a couple of other drinks for my guest, same attitude. Then, after about 50 minutes, we got our table . We ordered two filet mignon‘s a basic type of house mix, green salad and a wedge salad I will say the best thing that we ate was the wedge salad . It was good. The biggest issue that we experienced at the table 1st off was everything was brought out at one time our salads and our food at the exact same time so either our steak got cold or we ate our salad. We had one or to stop by from our server. I remember the days at each meal the manager would stop by and check on his guest and ensure they were having a good experience that didn’t happen either. As far they were cooked to our liking, and the quality of the meat was good. One of us had a side of fries and mashed potatoes. The other just had a side of fries. I will say that the fries tasted like it came straight from a freezer bag ….. a far cry from their string tasty french fries that they used to have. The mashed potatoes were lackluster at Best. And honestly, the food presentation was basic if not sloppy. Our total bill was just under $200 not including the drinks that I ordered at the bar . It’s been a long time since I left a restaurant feeling like I definitely didn’t get what I paid for . Disappointed to say the least Hillstone quality does truly matter…… and somehow from this experience, I feel like you have lost your way and your luster.
Ty W — Google review
Outstanding everything. Only negative is I wish they would enforce the dress code and the cell phone in the dining room code. The day my group came in for lunch hostess allowed a group with t shirts and gun shorts to be seated. So sloppy. And the table next us used his cell phone for 10 min which was obnoxious to listen to.

Breakfast restaurant
Mama's Daughters' Diner is a beloved Southern truck-stop chain known for its hearty home cooking, serving up breakfast and lunch favorites. Located at 2014 Irving Blvd., this diner offers an all-day menu featuring Mama's Favorite Breakfast and pork chops, along with daily specials like meatloaf, fried chicken, and braised beef tips. With a cozy old-fashioned atmosphere and friendly family-run service, it's the perfect spot to enjoy good old-fashioned homemade cooking of the highest quality.
I was staying at the Hilton around the corner and wanted to eat someplace other than the hotel or the Denny's across the street. So I checked out what else was nearby and I saw this place. It got good reviews and I wanted some good diner food. I was not disappointed. I ordered the big Texas breakfast #1 and I got it with the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy and let me tell you I am picky about my white gravy and there's was great. The biscuits were buttery and soft some of the best I have ever had. I liked this place so much that I ate there twice during my 5 days in Dallas. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Dallas. Highly recommend. Service was great both times and they are super fast whether they are busy or not.

Delicious hot (and a lot) of food. I got the mamas granddaughters plate which came with my choices of potatoes, biscuits and gravy, sausage links and eggs and they were all really delicious. Cute (extreme) diner atmosphere which I loved.

Not from Dallas (from SA TX/H Town) and glad we picked this spot to eat at. We didn’t wait more than 10 minutes and they have community tables where you sit with strangers which we weren’t crazy about but our neighbors were from buffalo NY and were nice. The breakfast was so fresh and tasty. We didn’t wait too long for the food either. Jose was an excellent waiter and took care of us. This establishment overall had a friendly vibe and would deff come back when in Dallas. I also got French toast and biscuits and gravy which I didn’t take pictures of and they were also yummy.

Love the food here! Come with any appetite because they load up the plate! Their biscuits are so soft and delicious, and their bacon is just perfect!

Came in the other day for breakfast, we were seated quickly however once at our table every staff member we had did not greet us at all. Didn’t give us a “Hi my name is … I’ll be taking care of you.” Our waitress seemed as if she didn’t want to be taking our orders at all. The food came quickly and was hot. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good but this place is just a diner nothing stood out us at all.

When I move to the West Dallas area, I found this charm. Many locals have been coming here for years and I can see why I myself have been coming here for five years now and I am so glad that I found it. This place is serving up great breakfast lunch and even some dinner entrées the people and staff are very friendly And can also give you great recommendations on the food options. I have tried most of their meals here and I have never been disappointed. You can come here for great food and great conversation because many people here are so friendly that you can definitely spark up the conversation with anyone The prices are affordable and you get great portions. Mama’s Daughters’ Diner – Where Work Trucks and Good Taste Collide When I travel for work, I steer clear of sad room service eggs and $40 conference hotel buffets that come with all the charm of a TSA checkpoint. Instead, I hunt for a proper diner—someplace where the coffee is strong, the food is hearty, and the biscuits don’t come with a linen napkin. Mama’s Daughters’ Diner delivered all that and more. In Texas, if there’s brisket or chicken fried steak on the menu, I take that as a sign from the universe. I ordered the #1 Texas Sized Breakfast—two eggs, hash browns (because I’m not a grits guy), biscuits (because toast is for the weak), and a glorious slab of chicken fried steak. It was $13.25, but honestly, I would have paid double and still felt like I robbed the place. Add a bottomless mug of coffee and you’re set for a full day of meetings, emails, and pretending to listen on Zoom. Now, I wanted to follow it up with a slice of coconut cream pie, or maybe some peach cobbler, but I held off. Mostly because I didn’t want the judgy look from my coworker who “wasn’t that hungry” and ordered oatmeal (snooze). Next time, I’m going rogue and getting a fried pie. Life’s too short for restraint. Pro tip: the moment I saw the parking lot packed with work trucks, I knew we were in for a good meal. That’s the unofficial Michelin star of the South. Mama’s isn’t some lone roadside gem either—they’ve got a few locations around Dallas, including this one tucked into what they optimistically call the “Design District,” which is actually just code for “light industrial with Instagram potential.” Bottom line? Skip the fancy hotel buffet. Head to Mama’s. Your stomach (and your wallet) will thank you.

What a neat and laid back southern comfort spot here in Dallas! We had a great experience here in this relaxed southern setting with plenty of great food and service to go along with it. I got the grilled chicken with 3 sides for $11 (see daily deals) and my buddy got chicken and waffles. We really enjoyed our food and our time here. Check it out sometime! By the way they are only open until 2pm.

Gemma is a casual and relaxed restaurant with a coastal California vibe, offering a variety of New American cuisine and signature cocktails. The restaurant's decor exudes a Mediterranean feel with its blue and white tones, creating a modern, stylish, and cozy atmosphere. Located in the heart of Henderson Avenue, Gemma is known for its well-crafted yet relatively simple menu featuring small plates and innovative entrees.
Got seated immediately at the bar at 5:30 on a weeknight and was served by Carlos, who was attentive and helpful in recommending dishes. The paradelle (rabbit pasta) and duck fat tater tots were great, and the complementary scone was good, but the real star of the show was the Strawberry/Pistachio Semifreddo. It was refreshing and light, perfect for the summer. One of the servers had mentioned that she thinks it's the best dessert and I can see why. I've truly never had any dessert quite like it.

I’ve been dining at Gemma for 11 years now since I moved to Dallas in 2014. It has remained a constant place of comfort in an ever changing restaurant scene in Dallas. The food is spectacular and NEVER disappoints. The staff and service is even better. I probably eat there 2-3 times a month now. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but if you’re a first timer you’ve got to try the rabbit pappardelle. Thank you to all the staff (front of house, bar tenders, and kitchen staff) for creating just an absolutely lovely restaurant.

We stopped by Gemma without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were seated. The restaurant has a charming outdoor patio that adds to the cozy atmosphere. For starters, we ordered the Heirloom Beets. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the mint finish,. For mains, I tried the Sakura Pork Secreto — it was just okay and not something I’d order again. My partner, however, had the Grass-Fed Bavette Steak and it was excellent — tender, flavorful, and absolutely worth coming back for. The real highlight was dessert. We shared the Crème Brûlée with vegan coconut ice cream, and it was out of this world — creamy, decadent, and perfectly balanced. A must-try! On top of the food, the service stood out. I have a dairy sensitivity, and our server was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating with my dietary needs, which made the experience even better. Overall, Gemma delivers a wonderful dining experience with standout dishes (especially the steak and dessert) and warm, attentive service. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Dallas!

Gemma – 4.5⭐️ Had an excellent dinner at Gemma on Saturday. Our waiter, Anthony, was fantastic! Very friendly, attentive, and really added to the experience. The meal started with warm scones served with salted butter, and they were absolutely delicious. We tried the fried olives and pecans, burrata, and hamachi crudo. All were outstanding and full of fresh, clean flavor. I ordered the Filet au Poivre for my main course, and it was one of the best filet mignons I’ve had in Dallas. Perfectly cooked, tender, and served with great frites and creamed spinach. For dessert, we split an apple crisp and gianduja chocolate tart that were both good, though not the highlight compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, Gemma is a gem of a spot with great food, friendly service, and a cozy, elevated vibe. I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing! The atmosphere is top notch and romantic. Looking around, not a lot of phones out, just people talking to one another as it should be. Jeremy was our server and he was one of the best waiters we've ever had. He was funny, explained a lot of the dishes in an easy to digest manner, and gave great recommendations. The food was top notch. On par with some michelin starred places. We will absolutely be back. Do yourself a favor and book a reservation here.

Food is always good! The fried olives are great and the oysters are usually great too. The restaurant is always a little too loud to hear anyone sitting at your table but overall great.

Absolutely loved Gemma. Came here for my birthday dinner, and they wrote me a nice little card and candle on my dessert. I really liked the skirt steak and the ceviche. Also the semifreddo was amazing!!! Would recommend for a date night, yummy dinner, special event, etc!

One of my favorite places to have dinner in Dallas! Gemma is a perfection. Great service , fantastic food ( you can literally close your eyes and point at anything on the menu and you will love it !) , spacious enough so no one will be bumping into you. We had dinner there the other night after leaving Sister ( disappointed) and Phillip was so nice to fit us in. We had oysters- amazingly fresh , hamachi crudo - exceptional fish quality , beef carpaccio- perfect slices paired with some cheese and greens, then we moved onto pasta - I’m not a big fan of pasta dishes as I’m extremely picky about it but i kept sticking my fork into my husband’s plate and that says A LOT, I was also pleased to see a quail dish on the menu- deep fried it was crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, finished with some espresso and affogato. I’m always happy to see coffee machines at restaurants and to see affogato as a dessert option at Gemma - it was a perfect ending to our meal.

Ozona Grill and Bar offers a unique twist on the classic chicken fried steak, using top butt from the sirloin to create a tender and robust dish. The menu features various options like chicken fried steak fingers, sliders, and sandwiches, as well as creative variations like queso-style or cowboy-style with chili, cheese, and red onions. This spot is perfect for weekend brunch or any hearty meal.
This place was amazing. From the food, service, to atmosphere, everything here was excellent. The dog friendly patio is a really nice touch and has a huge outdoor TV to watch. Started off with the spinach artichoke dip and this was hands down the best I've had. It was also served with some homemade sauce that was kind of a cross between salsa and BBQ sauce, which was delicious. I decided to go with the handmade tamales, as I'm from Iowa and don't get a chance for great Mexican food all that often. These did not disappoint. Along with the rice and borracho beans which were both delicious made for a great meal. It was my first time having borracho beans and they quickly became one of my favorites. The flavoring they did here was amazing. My aunt ordered the chicken flautas, which she gave me a couple of and these were something I would definitely consider ordering next time I come back, which I will definitely do before I leave town as this became one of my favorite restaurants.

For some reason, my high school buddies gather here. It was an odd experience. What we got only bore a slight resemblance to what we ordered. We asked for two orders of nachos and received one order of nachos and two shisk-a-bob. It took so long to be served that we accepted the appetizers as presented. The menu has changed, leaving off many of the Mexican dishes I tried in years past. So I had the chicken fried steak. It was good, but they dressed the mashed potatoes like a fully loaded baked potato instead of gravy as I asked. The food was okay, even when it was the wrong dish. I think the problem was our server who was friendly enough, but not especially good at her job.

Such a chill spot to hang out at. I loved all the outdoor seating/beer garden vibe that it was giving off. We went here for a work lunch so we sat inside. But it was such a relaxing environment, the staff were all super friendly, we got seated and served pretty quickly. I ordered the Buddy’s Club and it was really juicy and tasty, I really enjoyed it overall and will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely perfect place for a casual rehearsal dinner that will not break the bank. The club room is perfect, and everyone enjoyed the food. We had the enchiladas. Service was great!

This place is a must! Only two locations - Dallas & College Station! Great entrees but known for their killer Bloody Mary!! Raymond is THE BEST server I’m sure of it! He took great care of our large table. Never low on drinks, super funny, always checking on us, we loved it! Thank you. We will be back🍸

What happened to Ozona Grill & Bar? You could always count on them for consistently having great food& service, not today. Very disappointing! Ordered Fried chicken platter, FF & gravy, my wife had a spinach salad. Nothing special or hard! The fries were blanched & they forgot to finish frying them, they brought out a thimble full of gravy for a platter of chicken, the spinach salad was dirty spinach, was not washed at all, the dirt they were grown in was still present! After the server visited with everyone she knew I finally got the gravy, we washed the spinach leaves in our glasses of water not trusting the kitchen to do the job. I guess if you’re down by SMU, you can get away with serving this sort of meal. We didn’t complain, we figured it would have fallen on deaf ears. A little less perfume on all the servers would have been nice, I really don’t want to smell my server a full minute before she gets to my table! I really was expecting better., Did the original owners give the restaurant to the kids?

I always wanted to stop at this restaurant, but never actually got a chance to until today. I went to lunch with a group of coworkers and we had a great time. I was really impressed by the customer service. Our server made sure to keep our drinks topped off and check on us whenever possible. We sat outdoors and it was a tad bit chilly, so he turned on the nearby fireplace for us. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, but I opted for the shrimp tacos. They were pretty good and everyone else's food looked tasty as well. I was surprised at how big this restaurant actually is. They have plenty of seating to accommodate large parties as well. The cleanliness of the bathrooms and the facility itself was on point. I will most definitely be back and bring my hubby so we can try some other menu items. 👍😁

The Old Monk is a cozy pub in Dallas known for its extensive beer list, American fare, and lively patio. Despite being more of a traditional pub than a cocktail bar, it stands out for serving top-notch Old Fashioneds and boasting the most comprehensive whiskey selection in town. The friendly atmosphere on the patio offers a perfect setting to enjoy the featured cocktail of the month alongside addictive frites with bourbon mayo.
Sit wherever you want. It’s nice out on the patio when the weather is good. The fish was crispy and tasty with the side tartar sauce, not fishy tasting. The fries were seasoned great and I think you could ask for the skinny fries if you prefer those. Free drink samples on beer if you are unsure which you would prefer!

This is a lovely brunch spot in a trendy neighborhood. Their mimosas are good and the fish and chips were delicious. They provided malt vinegar on the table. This is a great place to relax on a Sunday and people-watch; plus our server was very pleasant and attentive.

We used to come here all the time before we moved from the area. We came back today it was great as usual. I typically get the chicken strips because they might be my favorite in Dallas. Today I went with the chicken, biscuits, and gravy on the brunch menu. While I thought it was good, I regretted not getting the chicken strips. They are too good! The rest of the group got a salad and eggs Benedict and said it was great (pictured). A dog friendly patio is a plus and the staff immediately brought us a dog bowl. Highly recommend if you want a casual bite with good drinks!

We were so excited to visit the Old Monk. The food didn’t disappoint. Huge portions and full of flavor. Our server was good, but she had a lot of tables, so she was super busy. The only downside was the music. The music was so incredibly loud you had to yell to hear each other, and this was on the patio. It was punk rock music, which is great for jamming, but blaring full blast in a crowded restaurant. Overall disappointed in our visit.

Atmosphere: clean, laid back and casual. Fish and chips: Amazing! Service: excellent I love a good plate of fish and chips so I decided to try this place. They have an expansive outdoor seating area that is warm and inviting with wooden tables and plants. Most of the area is covered and they can enclose it by lowering the side curtains if the weather is bad. The fish and chips were excellent. Perfectly battered, crisp and juicy. The home made tartar sauce had capers in it and it was good as well. The service was excellent. I got my food approx. 10 min after ordering. The wait staff was attentive. There is also an attached parking lot with dedicated parking which is a big plus. Overall great experience. I will return.

AllGood Cafe is a bustling eatery that offers a blend of American cuisine with a Tex-Mex twist and hosts live music nights. The restaurant's menu features classic American dishes with subtle Texan influences, such as grilled cheese sandwiches with roasted poblano peppers and sandwiches served with tortilla chips instead of fries. Their chicken-fried steak is highly recommended, boasting a generous crispy batter.
You can't get a better Deep Ellum breakfast than one at the All good Cafe! The eggs were fresh and cooked to order. The peppercorn bacon was sizzling and delightful. The oven potatoes were better than hash browns and I love hash browns! Coffee was robust and served fresh and hot. Wait staff was courteous and cheerful. Atmosphere is superb any time of day! You can't go wrong with a selection from this breakfast menu.

This place was amazing! I went on a Monday morning. Wasn’t crowded at all. The staff were so friendly and attentive. I ordered the South Austin Migas and my friend ordered the 3 egg omelette. The food was so good. We also order the carafe of mimosas it was so delicious and worth the $15. I loved that they let us get a little of each juice (orange juice, pineapple juice & cranberry juice) for our mimosas. We were able to get 3 1/2 glasses each. Everything was fresh. Would definitely go back.

AllGood offers a pretty good breakfast at a reasonable price. I had their biscuits and gravy and breakfast potatoes, at the recommendation of my waitress. It wasn't the best plate of either that I've ever had, but it was pretty dang good nonetheless. Note that if you order sausage with your gravy, as is offered on the menu, it'll come on the side; you are not ordering sausage gravy (contrary to what I thought lol). The progressive atmosphere was a nice respite from the stereotypical deep Texan politics, too.
L. K — Google review
I had the biscuits topped with eggs, queso, gravy, sausage, bacon bits, pico, avocado, and jalapeños. On the side I ordered chicken fried chicken with gravy. Absolutely delicious. The flavors and texture all blend well. They don’t have a combo that includes the chicken with these flavors which is why I ordered it on the side. The chicken is flavorful and crispy. Comes out hot. They say they open up at 8am but when I got there it was closed and didn’t open until about 8:15am so heads up on time. I’d recommend getting there a little after the open time. It was a Tuesday, so it was a little slower. I’m surprised it’s not as full for breakfast. This place is amazing. Parking is a little challenging as there’s only street parking which fills up and you have to pay.

Love this down to earth place with great food and great mimosas! We had the breakfast tacos and the breakfast #2, both of which were large portions that neither of us finished. The food was delicious, well priced and the service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Everything is definitely ALL GOOD here. Like eating at a friend's house. Food and the staff are top notch. Scratch margaritas, homemade meatloaf (not as good as mine, but close :)). Get the grilled cheese..you wont regret it!

I was the only one in the restaurant, and yet it took the waitresses 8 minutes to take my order. Mom's tuna salad sandwich. It was cut in triangles a whole piece of lettuce. When I tried to lift it and took a bite, it fell apart. The chips were stale. I had to find my waitresses to get my check. There was a 9 piece band warming up a lot of feedback from the speakers. Just when the band was starting, I was leaving.

Barbecue restaurant
Smokey John's Bar-B-Que & Home Cooking is a beloved Dallas establishment that has been serving up hickory-smoked BBQ, burgers, salads, and soul food since 1976. Originally known as Big Johns until a pit fire filled the restaurant with smoke, it was renamed Smokey Johns at a customer's suggestion. After being closed for over a year due to fire damage, the restaurant reopened in January under the ownership of Brent and Juan Reaves.
Wow this may be the best BBQ I have ever had! The ribs were amazing and the staff a blessing. The owner came to check on us and we visited a bit about being blessed to see a bible verse on the cup . He told us about how his dad wanted to glorify God when starting the restaurant. The owner ended up praying over our group of friends 🥹. Can't wait to come back! We are in San Antonio so glad to be able to get Smokey John's spices and rub in HEB here. 🎉

The owners and all staff were great! Friendly and courteous. The food was absolutely scrumptious! Big portions for a great price. The atmosphere was amazing, super clean, Billy asked us if we needed anything to just let him know, he checked on us periodically and he shared that he loves working here and I can see why because the staff is treated with respect and love. You can taste the love in every bite. There was definitely a party going on in our mouths❣️😂 The owner Brent gave us a tasting since it was our first time dining here. At the end of our meal he came to check on us, I told him that you can feel God’s presence in this place and he shared that they pray for their customers every day before they open the doors. My Hubby and I have finally found our BBQ place from now on this where we will be dining and we’re going to spread the word. Don’t walk run to get your BBQ on!!

First time at this establishment. The food was amazingly delicious. I had a brisket Plate, Mac n cheese and Collard greens. I felt like I was at my Gma house as a young child again. I also grabbed dessert - banana pudding and peach cobbler. Which was OK, I guess because I got the scrappings from what was left in the pan, nothing but crust.

10/10 recommend!! Whenever I want some home cooking this is always the spot hands down. Not only do the ribs fall off the bone, but they have such a variety with their specials where you can get your fix of Thanksgiving food and then to their to die for catfish. Even better than actually catfish spots. Been coming here for the past 5 years and will always be a staple in the neighborhood. Plus you are always greeted with smiling faces and feel cared on by the staff. Thank God for Smokey John’s!

I spent $32.00 on this plate and this was my first time going. I ordered the Smoke plate with green beans as sweet potatoes. I had to wait on the guy to come cut the meat and to taste what sausage I wanted. So it was pretty empty there so after I ordered I went to wash my hands and place my phone and belongings on my table. After I did all that my plate was being bagged up. I get to the table and open my plate the ribs were dry as you can see in the photo and my food is running together and I have baked beans and not green beans. To answer the question you might be asking is why didn’t I take it back? I hate doing that because of the thought someone doing something to my food. This was my first and last time eating at this place. One good thing is the sweet tea was amazing.
Joe W — Google review
My husband and I visited from Wisconsin. I looked at other review photos and saw greens, cabbage, mac and cheese and most importantly, ribs. Everything was perfect and the price wasn't bad. We had ribs that didn't necessarily have 'pull', but was so tender the meat just slid off with every bite. There also was NO vinegar taste which is a major plus for me, but rather a smoked taste. The ribs were just a tiny bit dry, but only a tiny bit and did not alter the taste at all. Mac and cheese-hittin, Greens-hittin, peace cobbler-hittin and all seasoned well. The catfish was not that Swai stuff, or at least didn't taste like it. The cornmeal and breading was seasoned very well and that crunch though👌. The sausage was spiced just enough, not too spicy, no cheese in what I had and the sausage was not dry. The cabbage was so good...no bacon or meat in it, but very good. The greens, not sure what kind, we're seasoned well enough to eat alone and not need extra seasoning. Only thing, the BBQ sauce was a vinegar type sauce or at least tasted like it, but the ribs really didn't need sauce. The only thing I didn't like is the Diet Coke was nasty and not many choices for Diabetic-friendly drinks, except for unsweetened tea. I didn't see any Equal or Splenda, so I didn't grab tea. The atmosphere was very clean and my husband said the men's bathroom was spotless. We were welcomed in by staff who held the door open. Since this was our first time there, we had to ask questions about the dinners and the staff had no problem answering questions. I'd definitely go back and recommend going to see for yourself. We'll be back soon and will more than likely have this on our list of places to go eat at. * When we pulled up the area looked a little sus, but it's actually pretty decent, so don't let that scare you off.

Was in town for a wedding and this is my first time in Texas. On the last day heading to the airport we stopped and got Smokey Johns. I got the plate with Brisket and Ribs, mashed potatoes and collard greens. 10/10 no notes. Just go here for the best damn BBQ you're going to eat and that's not an exaggeration. Brisket was packed with nothing but perfect flavor the ribs were cooked to perfection and and the BBQ SAUCE! that sweet BBQ sauce was just an absolute flavor packed sensation! I'd put that on everything! 10000000/10 Go here you won't regret it! (Also huge shout-out to the staff.... Incredible people super nice and friendly also the place is SUPER clean)

Great atmosphere, felt the love from the minute our family walked in, took my daughter in law there for her Birthday Lunch and we all absolutely loved all the food! Try everything and you’ll leave with a full stomach and full heart! The owner stopped by and chatted with us and truly made us feel at home! I live about an hour away, which doesn’t matter!! When it’s this great, I’ll drive 2 hours!! Brisket, Turkey and Sausage were perfect and the Mac N Cheese, Cornbread and Coleslaw should have their own TV show!! Worth every penny and more! Thank you so much!

Was delicious. Now I don’t have much experience with Korean food but I loved each and every dish. Felt light and not bloated even though I had a lot. Would come again.

I ordered Ginseng chicken soup with perilla seeds; the soup was warm and delicious, but the chicken was a bit dry. The service was okay but could be better. The cinnamon tea served at the end was a nice touch and tasted good.

An incredible place to celebrate a special day. The quality of the food is excellent, as is the attention of the staff. I highly recommend the all-you-can-eat option, which is excellent value for money. If you like alcohol, I recommend trying the famous Korean drink, Terra beer with soju.

The food is good but the decor and service are lacking. It's very odd but the restroom is out in a hall not connecting the restaurant. It was slow when we arrived and although we were the only customers the service was not that great. The portions were good sized and there was plenty of food to share.

My husband and I came to this restaurant at 9:00 PM. Their posted hours clearly say they close at 10:00 PM. From the moment we walked in, the owners looked visibly annoyed and hesitant to let us in. If they didn’t want to serve any more customers, they should’ve just said so at the door instead of reluctantly allowing us in and then treating us like a burden. The server came to take our order in a rushed, impatient manner, pressuring us to order quickly. Food came out fast, but by around 9:30 — after only 15 minutes of eating — they slammed the check on our table along with the dessert. No subtlety, no grace — just a clear message: leave soon. Then, at 9:45, while we were still eating, a staff member came up and bluntly told us to pay immediately because they were closing. This wasn’t a polite heads-up — it was an obvious attempt to kick us out. At that point, there was only one other table of customers left in the restaurant. We weren’t being slow, we ordered quickly, and we weren’t lingering — but we were treated like we were in the way. The food was okay, but the service was so unprofessional and disrespectful that it ruined the entire experience. If the restaurant doesn’t want to seat guests after 9:00 PM, then clearly post a last seating time. But don’t accept customers and then try to push them out like this. This was my first visit — and definitely my last. I spend my money to be treated with basic respect, not rushed, ignored, and pushed out the door.

It was my first time having Korean food... my friends billionth time having it, and she said it was THE BEST! We cane twice during her visit to Dallas. I'm not a meat eater, so I am glad they had teriyaki tofu and it was the best tofu I ever had in my life. I will be dreaming of that teriyaki delight. The sides are just the best. They were all so delicious and tasty. I could not try them all but I did enjoy all the vegan ones. My friend ordered BBQ beef ribs and it was waaay too much for her to eat. I would like to thank you for serving me a full glass of cinnamon tea. I can't wait to come back.

Not all-you-can besides dinner. I went for lunch. The meat was good, but some was overcooked. The sides were cold except for the rice and soup. The waiter was very kind. They give cinnamon tea at the end which was good.

Hosted a birthday party here at a private room upstairs and food was good, communication went great. They provide table, chairs, tableware, and linens. It is pretty dated which is why I took a star off for atmosphere but service was great and everyone went home happy and also with a box of leftovers.

Crickle's and Co. is a charming cafe located in Oak Lawn, offering a delightful menu of breakfast and lunch options along with an array of delectable baked goods and custom-made cakes. The cafe prides itself on its love for breakfast, serving it all day long.
FANTASTIC BREAKFAST & OUTSTANDING HOSPITALITY My first visit to Crickle's & Co. was an absolute win, and it all started with Paul, who welcomed me in and took my order. His enthusiasm, hospitality, and knowledge made a great first impression, and he was the perfect introduction to this spot. He went above and beyond to make me feel invited and recommended the Spicy Bacon Ciabatta—an excellent choice. I also ordered the pancakes and home fries, and both were terrific. Every bite was satisfying, and I completely understand why someone told me this was the best breakfast in Dallas—I have no reason to doubt them. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot with welcoming service, this is it. Five stars all the way!

I love this little place! It is super cute and perfect for meet-ups with friends. They may need to expand at some point because I can't imagine them Not needing to accommodate more people. They are good and I can definitely see increase in their future! The Service was quick and friendly! The Pancakes were good in a different way. They weren't really cakey, but yet fluffy. My bacon was cooked perfectly 👌🏾. The pastries looked amazing, but that will be experienced on the next visit. Oh yeah, I will be back!

I recently visited this breakfast and brunch restaurant and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made for a great start to the day. The location is beautiful, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for a relaxed meal. The food was good – well-prepared and tasty – although the selection is somewhat limited compared to other brunch spots. While the quality is definitely there, the menu could benefit from a bit more variety. One thing to keep in mind: the prices are on the higher end. It’s not the most budget-friendly option, but if you’re looking for a nice place with great service and a charming ambiance, it’s worth considering.

Stumbled upon this cute little place for brunch. Service is friendly and welcoming. Made to order so it was fresh and hot and worth the wait depending on what you ordered. Mimosa craft and coffee was ordered and both good. Definitely would come back to try the biscuits.

Great breakfast and service. The coffee ☕️ choices were awesome and complimented well with the food. We shared California tacos and vegetarian omlett. They were good and iron cake was nice finish with coffee like having a light cake with coffee. 5 star service.

What a gem! If you're local or just visiting, do not pass up going here. I can tell you how friendly everyone there was. Or I could rave about the fantastic food and drinks. I can even mention how the place screams greatness. But I'll let you go find out for yourself. Also, do not let the size worry you. They fit a good number of people inside, and the turnover seemed pretty quick. Never saw a wait. And the noise level was very acceptable. Go there, now!

Brunch before we left town. Saw good reviews. Counter service. There was a line at 10:45am but tables turned over quickly. Grandpa’s platter hit the spot for my husband. Thick cut bacon was just how my husband likes it. Touchdown taco was perfect with jalapeño and cream cheese. Would go again!

Aunt Irene's Kitchen is a cozy spot serving up hearty Cajun-Creole dishes like fried seafood and chicken. The place exudes a homey atmosphere, making you feel as if you're at your auntie's house enjoying a delicious meal. While it may be located in a bustling neighborhood, the food is definitely worth the visit. The menu items are cooked with love and care, ensuring that every bite is flavorful and satisfying.
This place is definitely blessed by God. Don't let the outside fool you. God's presence is all in the building. Food falling out the plate and you definitely get your money's worth. Humble hospitality and great atmosphere. I saw it on Instagram and had to visit. The experience was way better than what I thought. Huge crowd inside and outside. Alot of people were saying they seen it on social media and had to come. I highly recommend you try Aunti Irene.

I tried the steak and shrimp plate for the first time. It was SO much food that I couldn't finish the plate. The butter sauce was so good I drizzled it on everything. The establishment is small, and there's not a lot of room to sit. The floor was sticky but overall decent. If you come with a group, you may as well take it to go. The lady who took my order is a down to earth sweetie pie! I'm looking forward to stopping by for another plate!

The food was delicious! I'm glad we tried it out. My only disappointment was that they don't have salads anymore. (Update the menu please) My son went BACK to get salad and was told they refunded the salad. If you don't have an item to sell please let the people know when they pick up their order so they don't think they're missing something. I might have ordered something else. Come on Aunty...

I’m all for supporting black businesses but this Aunt Irene’s has some very poor poor customer service. The person rolled her eyes at me.. I wasn’t sure what I was going to order, like hurry upThen it took an hour and 45 before we got our food, which I’m almost positive was intentional. But not sure if it was because of me ordering slow or maybe they had ran out of catfish and had to go out and get some. I don’t know! What I do know is after spending $95 in there, we will not be going back.

Georgie is a restaurant by celebrity chef Curtis Stone, which features a retail butcher shop and fine dining. The service was excellent and the food was heavenly delicious. The presentation of all dishes were eye catching, and caviar softens the eating experience here. Cocktails hit the spot! I would definitely return to dine here again to try new dishes.
You MUST eat at Georgie if you are in Dallas. Chef RJ Yoakum's dinner, for my 57th birthday, was a revelation. How a chef can make something as simple as sweet potatoes taste a thousand times better than any other, always delicious, sweet potatoes is beyond me. We have been lucky enough to eat at many restaurants with Michelin stars but Georgie is simply out of this world. I wish we had been able to go back for brunch! We ate the best pasta of our lives, best onion soup, the freshly baked bread (with French butter from the Loire Valley) etc. We savored every, single bite. The other thing that made the restaurant so incredibly special was that virtually everyone we interacted with was absolutely delightful. The host, our waiter (who looked like a more handsome and much younger George Lucas) and RJ himself who brought us some extraordinary "tastes" (Finnegan ate his first oyster!!!) and we got to talk NBA with. We felt like part of the family by the time we left : )

Went here for Brunch and the atmosphere/ service were both wonderful. The lattes were delicious and I loved the scones. Our entrees weren't my favorite. It’s definitely unique. The egg casserole I ordered had an odd bread texture.

An amazing dining experience. The food is unbelievable, prepared exactly as expected and tastes wonderful. The service is impeccable, providing enough space for an intimate experience, but always being available. The decor is eclectic, lots of 70s orange and fuzzy.

During our visit this week, we were excited to hear there was a new chef. While the food itself didn’t quite live up to our expectations, everything else about the experience was truly amazing. The service was top-notch, the drinks were excellent, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the host made us feel very welcome. Although the main courses were subpar, our waiter was attentive and genuinely receptive to our feedback, which we appreciated. To end on a high note, the dessert was absolutely outstanding and became the highlight of the meal.

My husband & I heard about the new chef/menu, and pleasantly wowed! The baby sweet potatoes I'd like to replicate at Thanksgiving! The cornbread could be a dessert and my risotto with oyster and maitake mushrooms was pure bliss. Nice pours at the bar! Great music & vibes through the evening, attentive staff and chef came out to greet the patrons. Will return soon and save room for dessert.

My boyfriend and I had our date night here last night and we loved every second of it. The staff were amazing! Wes the new chef came out to greet us and Joaquin our server was very personable and attentive. The food was amazing. Definitely recommend getting the cornbread and loaded baked potatoe. And the oysters are some of the best I’ve had!

Very mixed. Ups and downs. We didn't like our table so they moved us, great. I asked to move a lumbar pillow so I could use it for my back but the maitre'd said no? Thanks Francisco....Ian (our waiter) said no problem ok great back in business. Dishes we sent back: The salad (inedible, too much acid) Didn't like: Rhubarb hibiscus Liked: Dry age duck breast (great flavor, came cooler than should've) Bread pudding (sent as an apology for messing up our wine but wasn't on the menu. Also the runner said "here's your birthday bread pudding" lol) Bump Martini (Ian ((lovely waiter)) wisely upsold us to this certain of the martini which included caviar, unfortunately the caviar was better than the martini and I would've personally preferred a vesper) Loved: Uni french toast Bbq ricotta gnudi Miso back cod In general the food was good, but given the price the service should've been much better. Our waiter, Ian, was lovely, but the maitre'd was so rude. We asked for wine recommendations for the duck and the somm didn't come until a second asking from Ian, poor guy, and after the duck had come while I was in the bathroom (seriously? Just do a loop) They sent the "birthday bread pudding" (whoops) as a sorry and poor Ian was in the back grabbing dessert wine when they brought out the desert too soon. Overall some basic kinks, but the food was good, if pricey, and they could really nail it with some basic service pointers

Angel Chicken Kitchen is a casual eatery located at 7632 Campbell Rd, Dallas, TX. The restaurant offers a variety of chicken-focused dishes, from biscuit sandwiches to bowls with global flavors. Customers can enjoy ample seating and parking space. The menu features an array of options, including Mediterranean and fried chicken/American fusion cuisine. Visitors praise the giant and delicious biscuits as well as the fresh and flavorful food.
[7/2024][$40] Oh em gee. I had chicken tenders, and almost didn’t get it because of the price. However, these tenders are excellent. They are so juicy, tender, and well seasoned. I don’t think I ever had fried chicken like this. Very very impressive. It comes with a biscuit and fries, they were just okay. My friend had a salad, it was excellent as well.

I was excited to try this halal chicken place, but their food was just okay for the price and compared to other options nearby. I paid $35 for two sandwiches and one fries and a drink, with no sauces included. The food didn’t taste very fresh either! The Nashville hot sandwich is what I’d recommend compared to the hill country I tried, where the biscuit was soggy.
Adiba — Google review
This was a really tasty spot for lunch. The restaurant interior is clean, organized, and very relaxing. There was no wait for lunch on a Friday which we really appreciated. The directions to the restaurant were a little deceptive, they kept routing us through the residential neighborhood to get there. I recommend you just enter through the strip mall. In terms of our food, we enjoyed everything. The Peachy Islander was my favorite. The sweet and spicy peach jam was the perfect compliment to the crispy chicken. The Buffalo Winger was great. The biscuit was super tender and although it didn’t have a strong buffalo flavor, we still enjoyed. The Chop Salad was a great vegetarian option. It was super refreshing with a lemon vinaigrette- a great twist on the classic Greek salad. The unsung hero of this place are the drinks- in particular- the Pineapple Agua Fresca. It was so sweet and refreshing! We kept going back for refills. Overall, this small spot was a great, affordable spot for lunch with plenty of options for everyone, including those with dietary restrictions.

The fried chicken bowl was really tasty! The chicken was tender and crispy and the veggies were fresh. The spicy harissa sauce was really good too. The place was clean and pleasant to sit and eat in. My only gripe would be that the protein portions are quite small. I ordered double protein and still wasn't quite satiated. If you're the type who needs a lot of protein to feel full, make sure to get extra.

Our family went on a Friday morning around 9:30 and it was pretty busy, but we had no wait. The service was quick and friendly, the portions were large, and the seating was standard. Our food came out very quickly, but everything was crispy and delicious. The waffles were perfectly crisp, the bacon was thick cut and crispy but not burnt, the fruit was fresh, and the chicken was moist and seasoned. Seems like anything would be a good choice on the menu!

Came on the weekend and it was packed. This was our first time coming and we came in excited since this location has been recommended numerous times. Hostess was not inviting or welcoming at all. My partner ordered the all in one waffle and he was extremely disappointed. It was our fault for not reading that there was something in the item my partner did not like. We ended up, leaving without even eating it, and they didn’t try to exchange it or have any consideration for us or at least acknowledge our disappointment he just showed us the menu and said there’s no modifications. Our waiter was attentive but not inviting. Just over all disappointed, will not be coming back. At least our Belgium waffles and eggs and bacon were good

Went on 8-3-25 for brunch. We were seated in about 10 minutes after we got there. They have great food options. We had the chicken and waffles, pork chop and eggs with a side of cheese grits and brunch potatoes. The chicken needs more seasoning on the crust but the gravy made up for that. (Great gravy). The pork chop was seasoned very well and the glaze on it was very flavorful. I really liked the cheese grits. You tasted that creamy taste in every bite. The drinks we had were the Earnest Palmer and the lemonade. Both were good. We wanted more lemonade but they were busy and that's ok. Overall the atmosphere is a good brunch atmosphere. We'll be back.

The hotel also features a well-equipped fitness center, hot tubs, and spacious rooms with expansive windows offering stunning views of downtown and Victory Park.
We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton in Dallas for 6 days as a family, and every detail of our experience was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and cared for. One highlight was how wonderfully they treated our daughter and her service dog. They showed complete respect and understanding, which made our stay so much more comfortable and meaningful. The attention to detail, the warm hospitality, and the luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere made this a truly unforgettable experience. Every team member from the front desk to housekeeping was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. We left feeling pampered, grateful, and eager to return. Highly recommended for families, especially those with unique needs. Thank you, Ritz-Carlton Dallas, for treating us like royalty.

Where do I begin!! Absolutely beautiful! You are greeted immediately when arriving. You feel welcomed the moment u step in to the restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant and classy. If you like a more relaxed feel with candles and music you can dine outside or just have cocktails. Their appetizers and entries are incredibly delicious. You can go wrong. If you are looking for an elegant, classy , upscale dinning experience you won't be disappointed. I cant wait to return 💞

The Ritz-Carlton Dallas is an absolutely beautiful hotel — from the moment you arrive, you can feel the luxury and attention to detail. The gentlemen who welcome you at the entrance and assist with your luggage/room (the bellmen) were outstanding: polite, professional, and extremely helpful. Receptionist were also warm and efficient, making the check-in experience smooth and welcoming. That said, there were two areas that left me a little disappointed. On my first day (September 24th), we ordered room service, but the salad we ordered, never arrived with the order. As we were rushing to get ready for a wedding that day, so we didn’t get the chance to raise it at the time. In addition, I was unfortunately overcharged by $50 at the bar, which took quite a bit of back-and-forth emailing and the issue still has not been resolved. While these may seem like small details, it’s the attention to detail that truly defines a five-star hotel, and in this instance, I felt The Ritz-Carlton Dallas could have done better. Overall, the property itself is stunning, and most of the staff were a true credit to the Ritz-Carlton name, but those minor service lapses kept the experience from being flawless.

Amazing staff. Accommodating for everything. Perfect example was dinner at Ferrings. My wife's feet were extremely cold as the A/C was turned down and there wasn't anybody in the restaurant so it was overall fairly cold. The waiter went to the spa area and grabbed her a set of slippers to wear for the rest of our dinner. He didn't hesitate, just did it. The drinks at all the bars were absolutely amazing, and the the bar staff was exceptional. Our check in was fast and easy and the girl took the time to explain all the perks we had while staying. Ferrings was also very nice. We had the sampler and the soup for our appetizers (full of flavor!!), I had the duck (cooked to perfection and not over salted), and my wife had the filet (again cooked perfectly). Our side was the mushrooms (OMG!! the best I have had. We will be back for sure.

No one seems rushed because apparently nothing here is urgent. The pool service feels like an afterthought, and the restaurants operate on “maybe eventually” timing. The property itself looks nice from a distance, kind of like a stock photo of hospitality, but the experience is pure mid tier chaos. If you’re expecting luxury, lower your expectations to “they’ll get to it when they get to it.”

Raising Cane's is a popular chicken restaurant that specializes in fried chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries and Texas toast. The food is always high quality and the service is very fast. The prices are also great.
i came all the way from aus just to try canes and let me say IT WAS WORTH THE TRIP! this food is hot and crispy and just prefect. Jamal and Jennifer were amazing servers and made my experience even better. if i could give service more than 5 i would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Went to this location, barely missed the 230am lobby, so I waited in line. I Ubered there, didn't want to drink and drive and when I got to the window. Very rudely, did they tell me to leave, that I could not be served because I didn't have a car. I did share that I was drinking tonight and that I ubered here, and they said no. My surprise was the tone and attitude in which they spoke to me. I did not expect this from this brand. The fact that they cater to late customers, and then un professionally tell me to go away while laughing just fell very degrading. Didn't expect this at all. I did ask to speak with management, considering they act with more reason and variable understanding of action in a service industry but was denied service because of visible resources only because I wanted to be safe and not drink and drive.
Alfonso F — Google review
First, there was no Raising Cane greeting as they’re usually is in the drive-thru. The girl taking our order was kind of rude. She did not give me a chance to complete my order before interrupting. She also didn’t repeat that she acknowledged my change of the order and that was just placing the first meal. She was trying to give me the total before I was even done. I had not even ordered the second meal the raising Cane was not busy with a long líneas it usually is, it was only about 2 cars in front of us so I know she could not have been very busy at that time. Also, the chicken tenders look a lot smaller than they have before. raising Cane was always top of my list and it has dropped at least 2 to 3 down, which I feel bad for because their sauce is awesome back to the lady after we paid and got our meal From the window, I asked her if she was a person who took my order. I informed her that I was not trying to be rude and I don’t want to be rude but just wanted to inform her the way she took my order at the drive-through speaker she didnt seem to really care. All she said was well I’m busy. I’m doing many things and I do understand that but she should not have rushed everything and talk over me. She should have given the person a chance to speak or finish speaking before she jumps in to go into the next thing she didn’t seem to care she just had this face like oh well and I told her I just wanted to inform her of that because that does affect your store, but I think I may not go back to that one unless it’s an emergency raising Canes sorry it’s because of the customer service I received you should have nicer people and I expected the funny greeting as I always have and it always makes me laugh, and all I received was rudeness which made me up more upset. Thank you.
Stella M — Google review
First time at this location First off the tenders were tiny and the food were soggy! I drove for less than 6 mins and the fries were so soggy. Overall yuck.
Caroline R — Google review
Purchased my daughter raising canes yesterday and I didn’t notice the tenders weren’t done until the end! Called and spoke with a manager on 5/19/25 ant approximately 8:02 pm and he advised that was nothing he could do because we didn’t call and speak with a manager on yesterday. As of 5/18/25 we did call the business and spoke with a worker and they advised to call back tomorrow which is today…

Sooooo I’m as hot as the chicken I got service cool food hot but the amount given was a side eye I went through the drive through order the 3 finger combo when I opened the box it was like I should have ordered a kids meal on the amount of fries given I said maybe this is the new amount they give out now still not cool but I go back in and order a side of fries YALL the amount that was in that box was confusing I know one is a side but come on now I’m a little lost
Kirsten S — Google review
I got food from the drive thru and the service was great I didn’t have a problem there. The problem is the food! My fries were crunchy surprisingly this time around but my chicken strips were a whole different story. They are SO SOGGY, WHY?? It’s not because of the heat since my fries didn’t get soggy. They are nasty, it’s like they took a bath in oil and didn’t dry off. I tried to give them another try but this just confirms that I don’t like canes. Hope this helps!
Mariana Q — Google review
I never leave reviews, but this is much needed. The customer service at this Cane’s was really disappointing. The staff seemed completely uninterested and inattentive. When I picked up my order, I asked for hot sauce, and one of the employees dropped the packets toward my hand, completely missing, and just walked away without saying a word. Part of my order was also wrong, and when I asked if it could be fixed, there was no apology they just handed me a box and turned around. Overall, it was a really frustrating experience.

The Grapevine Bar is a laid-back and inclusive neighborhood haunt in Dallas, known for its mismatched furnishings and diverse crowd. It has been recognized as both the best straight bar by a leading gay publication and the best gay bar by a straight magazine. The bar offers ridiculously cheap drinks, including frozen beverages made with Everclear, and hosts some of the best happy hours in town. Its rooftop deck provides a great spot to enjoy drinks while taking in the city skyline.
My 2nd trip. I've experienced the inside and outside stages. It's OK to dance! So, come as you are. It's an inclusive spot, and you'll find no fighting here. Parkland is visible. It's not residential, so live music can go to midnight and beyond. Easy access to I-35 or I-30 via Hampton south to head back to Tarrant County.
John K — Google review
Cool, local (semi-dive) bar in Dallas. Had a pretty good beer selection and chill atmosphere. Lots of couches and comfortable chairs. Prices weren't exorbitant, just pretty average. Glad it was close and we stopped in.
Preston B — Google review
Having moved back to Dallas from living in Austin for many years, I had always missed going to a quirky, cozy divey-feeling bar. The moment we walked in the decor really catches your eye and there is a small stage on the right. The bar has cute light fixtures over it and there are coin pool tables with pink and purple felt. The seating varies from sofas to chairs to bar stools inside. Outside they have a patio that extends beyond what you might expect. In other words it is massive! There is also another stage out there and the ambience is very cool. It almost feels like a brewery with tons of picnic table seating and open air for the smokers who want to smoke and socialize. The service was great, the drink selection was good, and the inside/outside hang out space was really just the best. The only downside that I can think of for this place is maybe that they don't have that much parking space? I mean that's me trying hard to come up with some flaw about this place! Come check them out, period. You won't regret it!

On Monday nights we play bingo @7!!! Found this spot after looking for the best bar on a Monday in Dallas near downtown and this hangout didn’t disappoint. The host James and bartender Robert made our experience one of a kind. Drinks are cheap and everyone there is social. This place is a jewel.

The vibes here are amazing!! My boyfriend had a show with his RHCP tribute band, the Red Hot Ghost Peppers. The sound and service were both incredible, and the location was perfectly placed for some of the band members. The bartender and server were both so on top of everything, and they have the coolest patio area I've ever seen. Even for an August night, we were surprisingly cool with all the fans they had on. We'll definitely come back just to hang out and enjoy the excellent service!🩷

Xaman Cafe is a vibrant and welcoming coffeehouse located in Bishop Arts Dallas. It serves as a community gathering hub with minimalist yet elevated brunch offerings, including the popular chilaquiles available with various toppings and sauces. The cafe's pre-Hispanic influence and agave bar create an ambiance that transports visitors to earlier times in Central Mexico. The staff are known for their friendliness, and the presentation of their lattes is noteworthy.
I really enjoyed their menu and how the drinks are presented. Their horchata lattes are a must! Service is very good and the place is very cozy. I’ve heard about their bar in the back but still need to try it. This spot is definitely worth a try.

Overall will not return. Food is good however transparency/experience and prices are not. Pro: Food was tasty. Drinks were unique (Starbucks prices). CONS: *Lack of transparency in prices and menu item availability (weekday vs weekend; the pozole and machete are clearly on available on weekends). *Matcha sauce was $2/portion which was not explained. *Fideo is not served on the weekends which was not stated anywhere and the reason we came for the visit so that was disappointing l. IPhone 16 was not able to connect to Wi-Fi. Lack of parking so you need to use street parking. Loud atmosphere Too pricey for portions. Suggested tip Begins at 20 percent

The atmosphere that Xaman Cafe offers is perfect for a romantic day date and/or a brunch date with friends. There is an outside patio, a front portion to the restaurant as well as a rear portion. We dined in on a busy Saturday morning and were seated right away. Thankfully, we arrived before the rush. Our server was sweet, kind, and answered all of our questions. The coffee was wonderful, as were the chilaquiles, the flautas AND the black beans. The flautas and chilaquiles are made with the softest birria meat.

One of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in the state of Texas. The quality of ingredients is of the highest caliber, they import straight from the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Jalisco. Everything on their menu is delicious and well plated. Flavors are bold and culturally accurate. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience southern Mexican flavors. Incredible atmosphere and staff. We will be coming back the drive all the way from Austin was worth it. Gracias y Felicidades, todo un exito!

I’m literally sitting at a table on my first time here but I already am in love with this place! It reminds me of being in Oaxaca and has things on the menu I hardly see anywhere else but remember eating as a kid, like Fideo. Love love. My dog likes it here too :). I will be back!

Host was kind to give us samples of cafe de olla, we ordered multiple drinks, Xaman Horchata, coco latte, banana matcha. I loved hand crafted pottery, as a new potter I really appreciate how much thoughts and skills have put into making each piece. Back to food, Chilaquiles is my favorite, Churros de Totomoxtle has great flavor.
Manoj G — Google review
Totally recommended! It has the vibe of a café in Mexico City and I absolutely love that it makes me feel close to home. The food was delicious, and the best part was the horchata with espresso 🫶🏽 The playlist was a 10/10 shout-out to the bartender for their great music taste. I’d definitely come back, but I live in Utah haha. I need a place like this over there!

We had a very pleasant morning at the restaurant. We followed Melissa’s recomendation on the Chilaquiles and the Café de Olla. We had the omelette with chorizo and horchata café also. We will definitely be back!! And we will look for Melissa again.

Chicken restaurant
Nestled in the heart of West Dallas, Chicken Scratch is a delightful haven for food lovers and families alike. This laid-back eatery specializes in mouthwatering fried-chicken biscuit sandwiches that are sure to satisfy your cravings. With its inviting patio adorned with picnic tables surrounded by lush gardens, it’s an ideal spot for enjoying a meal outdoors while soaking up the sun.
I absolutely loved this place!!! It feels like you're walking into a chicken coop or barn of some sort. 😊 There is oldie but goody music playing in the speakers that you can enjoy the moment you walk into the premisis. My friend who was visiting from Atlanta, GA suggested it from it being reviewed on one of those food tv shows....great siting and choice. It has a large area of dining outdoors but within the area where you first walk in. The parking area is covered. There's a play area for children. Yay! There is plenty of tables outside for dining. They have the cutest little stage literally made from pallets! It's so cute and adds character to this place. You have the inside that host's older furniture that just adds a certain vintage feel with extraordinary character as well!!! The bar area, (The Fondary) which is totally seperate from the side that has the food (You can order at the bar but must be 21 to enter) is set up like a place you'd hang out with friends and/or co-workers that make you feel like you're at an older relatives house that everybody loves! The mimosas are really good and only $4.00. I'd definitely suggest this place to others! It appears to be a great spot to meet up with friends and have a great time!!! The food was great!!! I ordered the smothered chicken biscuit... which came on a biscuit with French fries and cheese smothered in gravy. I ordered a side of greens which were good and substituted the fries for mashed potatoes.

Very good fried chicken, a little over priced. Nice place, plenty of sauces. The fried pickles were great, huge chunks of dill pickles. Would definitely go back. A little hard to find, but worth the hunt. Had an order of the chicken and coconut waffles also, very good, the coconut was a nice addition. Nice outside area and a cool place to bring the kids.
Mike J — Google review
Great concept, fun outdoor area, but for the price the food was majorly disappointing. Nothing spicy about the Nashville hot chicken and waffles. I was missing the sweet/salty/spicy combo I love about chicken and waffles. Also, other pictures a big piece of chicken for this dish, but we were literally served chicken fingers. Even the sandwich was chicken fingers. If I lived here, I’d come back for drinks, but not to eat.
Libby S — Google review
Dined in. This spot was a spontaneous stop after a rangers game. First time there, got there early. Atmosphere was very nice. Pretty pricey in my opinion since we weren’t offered any kids meal options so paid $100 for lunch. The coconut tenders were delightful. For $14 a meal per kid (3 children) it would have been nice that drinks were added to the meals but weren’t. Great portions to where we left there with boxed leftovers which made it worth the price.
Dawn M — Google review
I give 3 stars just for the atmosphere and coolness of the outside area. I ordered the buffalo chicken biscuit with blue cheese and my bf got the regular 3 piece chicken strips. The only thing that we thought was actually good were the French fries, which were well seasoned and crispy. The Mac and cheese was also super delicious. You can get better chicken at Chick fil a, canes, and chicken express. The chicken really does not have flavor, and I didn’t finish my meal. I do like that the area is outdoors and you can bring your pups! That’s about it tho, it’s cool to hangout at and maybe snack on some fries.
Andrea R — Google review
Pretty good experience over all. Nice decor, and a great social space for get-togethers. The food was enjoyable and would definitely return. The only knock is that we had some pieces of chicken that were extremely salty.

Loved the food, the atmosphere, and the bar! 2022 Update: The nostalgia of this place tasted better than the actual food. Sadly it just doesn’t compare to what it was before the new ownership.

Amazing fried chicken. The vibes here are also nice! A wedding reception was going on, and it added to the nice ambience of my dinner date. The combination of perfect weather, perfect night, great live music, and great fried chicken has me wanting to come back here already!

Pie shop
Humble: Simply Good Pies is a small, unassuming pie shop located in a busy strip mall. The Bayou Goo pie is one of their standout offerings, featuring layers of rich cream cheese, candied pecans, chocolate cream, chantilly cream, and chocolate shavings. The shop offers traditional flavors as well as unique twists to cater to all pie lovers. Customers praise the pies for not being overly sweet and commend the friendly and helpful owners.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! As a baker and cook, I can personally say Humble uses the best ingredients and does it from scratch, which in a world where everything is over processed is a welcome change. We love this place so much people always say, "Wait, you drove from Frisco to Garland for pie!?". And our answer is a resounding YES, because it's that good! Most importantly, their Banana Cream Pie is an actual Banana Cream Pie and not pudding based like so many places.
Angelo L — Google review
If you've been to Portland, OR, this place competes with the legendary "Lauretta Jeans"! As transplants, we've been searching for a genuine replacement of our favorite pie place, and this one may take the cake... Their banana cream pie isn't that artificial yellow nonsense that is so common around here, and the lemon tart was actually full of lemon zest! Prices are reasonable & expected for the quality. The fact I could taste the real butter in the crust as it crumbled apart says everything you need to know about this place! BONUS: they've got gluten friendly options!
S R — Google review
Placed an online order for the strawberry rhubarb pie for pick-up,was not disappointed, my husband and I finished the pie in 2 days. Made with fresh ingredients and had a very generous filling. Also bought a slice of the lemon ice box to enjoy inside the pie shop, it was frozen when it was served to us so i wasn't able to enjoy it then. While it's the same recipe used, it seemed to taste quite a bit of condensed milk, maybe just me, but i may try another slice to see if I experience the same issue, maybe it was just a bad batch.

My husband and I decided to go in and we are glad we did. Considering we had my brother’s funeral on yesterday, this encounter had me smiling. (The owner came from the kitchen and we had a conversation about Louisiana and loved one’s.) We can tell he is passionate about cooking and family. The atmosphere is inviting and he is definitely HUMBLE. We will see you soon to get some more tasty pies ☺️ Sorry no picture of the Coconut Crème, my husband devoured it before I could get a pic 😆

What a jewel of a place: a small cozy shop with folks that love their craft and are true to it - the pie. I had the chocolate cream pie - it was beautiful. Rich and silky but not too sweet. The crust was some of the best I have had in a very long time. Firm but still tender, nice and flaky with just the right touch of salt. If you're looking for a quiet spot to visit over a cup of coffee and a great slice of pie - this is it folks. I cannot wait to get back to Dallas and come back. Thank you so much!
Pete G — Google review
The place recently went up in prices. The slice were $7 and they went up to $8. I don’t mind buying it because I like the pies, but I received bad customer service. I brought it up casually to the “young guy” at the counter and he said something wanting me to feel like I didn’t know what I was talking about. Come on guy! I love pies, but with that customer service, I might not go back. What a disappointment…

Such a cute place!!! The pies are absolutely delicious. We tried the coconut crème and chocolate crème - soooooooo yum!! Inside is so cute as well, having a water/coffee self serve and wooden games at every table (chess, connect 4, tic tac toe, etc). The service was so great too, very helpful as it was our first time there!! We will definitely be back :)

We stopped in since we were in this side of town. Let me tell you that we were greatly surprised at the quality & the full flavors that were in each pie. It's not often that we go somewhere & are happy about spending money purchasing deserts, so this was AWESOME! The young lady was very nice & was happy to explain each item in detail. We can't wait to come back & try more!

Gabby's Chicken & Seafood is a delightful culinary gem that captivates your senses from the moment you approach. The enticing aroma of their perfectly fried chicken, with its flaky exterior and tender interior, is simply irresistible. On my third visit, I discovered that the real stars are the catfish, shrimp, and hush puppies. The catfish boasts a crispy coating while remaining flaky inside, complemented by a tasty tartar sauce.
Today was my third visit to Gabby’s. The stars of the show here are the catfish, shrimp & hush puppies. The catfish is deliciously crisped to perfection on the outside & flaky on the inside. The tartar sauce that comes with it is good, too. The shrimp is huge & again deliciously crisped to perfection. The cocktail sauce is pretty good but could be spicier for my taste. The hush puppies are really tasty. I found myself wanting more than the 2 given & I normally don’t even eat hush puppies. You can see bits of corn inside… gotta try em. The seasoned fries were good the time I had them but I wasn’t a huge fan of the mashed potatoes. I love the fried okra… again, that awesome crunch. The employees are very nice & accommodating on requests. I find the catfish & shrimp well worth the price!
Shirley M — Google review
Extremely disappointed, fries were soggy, catfish drenched in oil. Seemed like they added the fish when the oil wasn't hot enough. Fish wasn't crispy, just soggy warm fish. No flavor, nothing was good, I had to even add seasons salt to make it better, but that didn't help. Hush puppies were not good either. Waste of money and waste of food.
Jessica L — Google review
Well my experience was iffy, I called my food in over the phone while 8 mins away, I ordered two piece fish, fries, hush puppies and a drink for $7.99 he said it would be ready when I got there. I arrived and spotted a sign on front when I was getting out to go inside (sign on the door that say drive through only) so I saw the sign on the window that said two piece fish, two shrimp and 3 tenders, with fries, hush puppies and drink for $8.99. So I called back and asked if I could change my meal to that, and I asked him would I need to wait to come around. He said no come through drive through, I get to window he tells me a price of $14.99, so I explain the sign on the window, he said it say tilapia, I explained it didn’t and that he should look, he said it did. So I was literally going to go take a pic to show him. Then he switches to saying that it means tilapia, so I told him that the sign does not say that. Anywho, I change it back to the original order. I called my food in at 3:14, didn’t end receive food till 3:30. The fish is pretty good but the actually breading broke off the fish, the fries are cooked hard as hell. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I got the 2pc chicken tenders and 2pc catfish meal with double fries seasoned with hot seasoning for 14.06 and I can honestly can’t be more happy with the amount I get and quality the catfish taste and how fresh you get it when you order my only down side with this is that gravy sauce, if they made a sauce kinda like Canes this place would be a Gem but right now it’s better then Canes
Lingekon ( — Google review
Everything is cooked fresh to order, so you may wait a few minutes on your order. Everything I have tried is awesome, cooked perfectly and delicious. The portion's are generous and the prices are very reasonable, you won't end up hungry or broke, plus they give a 10% senior discount if you ask for it. I was hesitant to try this new place, but relatives recommended it and I'm glad I tried it. Right now it is drive through only (thank you Covid-19), no problem. If you buy a combo meal and don't need or want the drink, you can substitute it for an additional side for the same price. The fries were crinkle cut and limp, but now they are crispy straight fries. Great customer service, friendly and courteous always. Try it, you will like it. Family owned and run, not a franchise. Now I don't have to drive all the way to Chicken Express to get fried chicken livers for my wife. A pleasant surprise hiding in an old bank building.
Lee S — Google review
Everything tasted fresh. I wouldn't say this place was amazing but it was good for what it is. I had the 2 piece catfish and 2 tenders. The fish was lightly breaded which was good because a lot of places have more breading than actual fish. The 2 hush puppies were also delicious. I could eat 20 of those. The rest was good but the hush puppies may have been my favorite part.

My husband & I have been wanting to try this place for months now & today finally had that chance! I ordered the 2 pc chicken tenders/2 pc Catfish combo with fries. The tenders are Better than Cane’s! Yes…I said that & I mean it! 🤩 😋 My husband ordered fried shrimp w/fries, Our food was fresh, nothing was soggy and good size portions, it did not disappoint. I also want to give a big thank you to the team that was working tonight, we showed up at 7:30 b/c I got off a little late from work close by & decided to go thru drive thru, we received great service and for that you have two more repeated customers.
Sunshine L — Google review
Customer service was very nice. The young man at the window was very polite. Food quantity was large...the price point was accurate based off the portions. Food quality was okay. The shrimp and catfish was seasoned good, however my fries and tenders were bland. Condiments were automatically given without asking, which was a plus. I will be back.
