Other pastries also available (broodjeworst, also a favorite from this place). Recommended to pack some pieces home for your loved ones because you haven’t visited maastricht without vlaai from their place.

A must try Vlaai (traditional limburg pie, one kf maastricht pastry icon!) the strawberry one is really niceee and big portion! We share 1 for 2 people! The mint tea is also nice! They have dine in place with quite small capacity <3 sooo warm also beside there is a beautiful old mill

The staff are friendly and attentive when needed, but not when you want to chill. Recommendations were spot on. The Filet de Bar "Croûte aux Herbes et Chorizo" was great!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Maastricht. The service is always warm & friendly - attentive without being cloying - and the food delicious. The menu varies slightly by season and they always offer seasonal specials. My husband generally chooses the toast poulet & avocado or the Caesar salad and I am obsessed with the flammkuchen Gruyère and their French onion soup. Honestly, though, you can’t go wrong here. Every single thing we’ve ordered here has been a hit with us.

I ate at this restaurant with a friend. We payed separately as our company paid for our lunch. I asked my receipt (not the total) but for these I paid. The guy that serviced us told me that I have to send an e-mail in order the logistic part of their company see their system and that they have the ability for this. I sent an e-mail and they replied that this is not possible. Now I have to apology to my company because of their unawareness. They do not even know between the staff what they can do and what not!!!

Been here during a 1-day trip to Maastricht. Apparently one of the very few places who serve small batch Mosae/Maas river banks' denomination wines in the city and the Limburg! This was the specific reason I walked in, sweating, after 2 hours of research and information requests to people on the street and a dozen shops in the centre.. In my broken Dutch, without mentioning I was a hospitality professional, I have had my questions answered and have been treated beautifully, with care and attention. A girl from the bar talked and explained all she could, despite me being a 1-time-only customer, enjoying 2 glasses of a small production, high quality wine from the region, standing at the service counter. Memorable experience, great service, they absolutely know what they're doing! As an Italian, my compliments to Regio Limburg ..that makes great wines like our northern-eastern Friuli Venezia Giulia, and to the city of Maastricht, silent city with silent people with a Neapolitan kindness. As a traveller, my compliments to the staff, was treated just like a regular customer. As a hospitality and tourism worker, feeling comfortable and at ease, chatting with the staff in a language I still do not master.. Grazie infinite al 't Wycker e alla CIVITAS TRAIECTI. This place is always nice to sit. Simple but good. When on the other side of the river it's a good place to have a drink or two.

I am no drinker by any stretch of the imagination and never go out drinking in the UK because basically - pubs - which ones are left because a lot of them are closing down, are not the most inviting of places, especially if you are not a local. They can be quite hostile if you are not a local but when walking past Zondag one night during my stay in Maastricht. I saw happy people having a nice time on the outside tables. So, I thought I would take a chance and I ventured inside to have a beer. The bar was staffed by three friendly guys, service was swift and the beer was good. My beer was actually served in an old fashioned British pint glass with a handle - something I hadn't seen for at least 30 years in a British pub. So, I was taken to my environs immediately. So, when it came to payment. Their card reader wouldn't take my card and the friendly barman shrugged and said cheerfully 'We have problems with British debit cards unfortunately' and I said 'well, I have a Chinese debit card, let's try that!' which made him laugh, it made me laugh too as it had less chance of working than my British card but actually, the Chinese debit card kind of works OK in the Netherlands but it is a bit more hit-and-miss than my British bank card as you can imagine (for the record - we tried the Chinese debit card - it didn't work!). The way the bar staff at Zondag dealt with this problem and the solutions they offered impressed me so much that I am on here writing about it and am happy to give them full marks for their service, friendliness and understanding. Thankfully, my British debit card started motoring on the second attempt and I managed to pay for my drinks. What would have happened in the UK if that happened? Maybe death, dirty looks, comments about my dearly missed, deceased mother? More than likely! The chilled out response from my friends in Zondag? Doubtful! So, full marks to all staff at Zondag! Thank you for your understanding and may you have many more happy evenings with your wonderful patrons.

A nice place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. I really appreciate their wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks - it's not your usual Coke & Sprite. Their kombucha is especially tasty (really sour). The food is also pretty decent, I tried the tortilla de patatas - it was nice but a bit bland and cold. The only thing that really bothers me is their service. I went several times and they barely come to your table once. After that they never come back, even if they are not busy at all. It seems that they do not really care about the customers, which I find annoying. If it weren't for their bad service, the place itself deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, it ruins the whole experience, so if you don't mind, give it a try.

We ate breakfast here and the food was just immaculate, I ordered the cheese toastie and the cheese was just perfect and very unique (probably the best toastie I’ve eaten in my whole life). The staff were really friendly, I recommend coming early as it gets busy within minutes! From Kuwait 🇰🇼

The food and people are great but definitely come here on a sunny morning and sit outside in their backyard. I can't think of another place in Maastricht that offers you such a nice place to sit and eat.

For me it wasn’t really worth it, the place is cute and the staff is super nice but it feels they surf on the vibe of what’s trendy instead of investing in the quality. Yea everyone wants avocado toast, yogurt bowls, and oat milk in their coffee, but I would make it better at home.. I feel they didn’t taste the food they are serving, and just gonna put together smashed avocado, tomatoes and egg (for example).. it lacked taste and balance between elements

Enjoy a very nice breakfast or brunch in a very nice and cosy place that feels like home! We had a very tasty Greek style omelette and the French Toast with fresh fruits! Also the Greek freddo cappuccino I had was very good! I totally enjoyed my brunch in this cafe and I will definitely come back again! The service was also very friendly and social!

This place is usually quite busy, especially on weekends, but it’s definitely a great spot for breakfast. Even though there was no table available when we arrived, we only had to wait about 5 minutes. There are plenty of tables, so one frees up quickly—no need to worry. The tables are placed quite close to each other, but if that doesn’t bother you, it shouldn't be an issue. For the quantity, presentation, flavour, and service you get, it’s definitely worth it. The coffee is very good and well prepared. Nothing extraordinary, but still good. The food, on the other hand, is simply fantastic—delicious and beautifully presented. The bathrooms are clean, and the interior is lovely. I do feel that it is a franchise, but it doesn’t disappoint. The menu is quite extensive. If you don’t know Dutch or English, it may feel a bit overwhelming, but worst case, you can always use Google Translate.

This is THE PLACE TO BE for a morning coffee and healthy bowl. It made me want to wake up everyday to have breakfast in the breezy and fresh cobblestone streets of maastricht. We tried the yogurt bowl and the mango bowl. Both very flavorful, generous, super fresh fruits and crunchy home made granola that topped it all. Must try! We also tried the egg wrap, very filling and tasty.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The cozy atmosphere and attention to detail in both food and service make this place a must-visit. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the staff’s attitude made the experience less enjoyable. When we arrived it was full, so we said we were happy to wait. However, the staff told us—rather rudely—that we could not sit while waiting and directed us to stand in a particular spot. This created a poor impression at the start. While the food and setting are very good, the service left much to be desired.

Maybe they had a bad day, but the food wasn’t good. Eggs benedict had extremely salty sauce. Pancakes tasted like sad microwaved bread ( couldn’t finish them). Cappuccino and smoothie were good. Presentation of the food is beautiful.

The food was great! We got the eggs benedict /van wyck eggs. They make one of the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had. They did overdid it with the smoked salmon on my bread but that’s more of a personal preference. The coffee and matcha are decent. All in all great place for breakfast/brunch.

What a phenomenal experience! From the first small bites with a fabulous glass of champagne to the final dessert course, every bite was spectacular. The service was impeccable and the wine pairing was on point. I can’t say enough about how good this meal was. Every dish was so thoughtfully prepared and executed perfectly. All of the servers where on top of of every part of the service. Couldn’t recommend this more if you are looking for an elevated dining experience in the Netherlands. The real bonus was sitting at the chef’s counter and watching how a well oiled machine works. So impressed!

Had an amazing 8-course dinner at Beluga Loves You. The red mullet and the beetroot–wagyu–eel dish were true standouts. Loved the playful chocolates at the end, especially the beetroot bonbon and salted caramel. Service was flawless—attentive and knowledgeable. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish!

Over my last 10 starred restaurants this one comes very strong on the Top 2. The atmosphere, overseeing the river, very large room, turns out both classy and natural. Welcoming with apéritive in the lobby before food at the table should be mandatory everywhere. Excellent concept. The mushrooms topped dark bread was fantastic. Service was extremely friendly, doing lot of efforts in different languages. The food was very well structured. The first "wow" effect with the cold appetiser is followed by a very complex fish assembly, before the excellently cooked veal. Cheese selection was completely satisfying but might be weaker compared to the rest of the menu. When coming to Holland one might have too high expectations on this. Overall definitely one of the best price to quality and experience ratio in Europe (benchmarking with many comparable places in different countries).

Exquisite dining experience! Treated like Royalty, personal welcome by the chef/owner in one of the lovely spaces (outdoor terrace). 4 exciting amuse bouches followed by 5 outstanding courses of a wine-paired sit-down menu. Staff catered to all dietary needs, sommelier was amazing. Best dinner!!

My experience in this restaurant was more than amazing! They focus on crafting a great food presentation which gave as the first good impression and when we tried the food the taste was fantastic!!! My friend told the waiter that she has specific requirements for food and the Chef just prepared her what she wants that wasn't even in the menu! They are just an adorable staff I have to say and they deserve more than one Michelin star :)

Over the top experience for all the senses. It's a place to enjoy food as a work of art. The wine pairing was remarkable as well as the kind service, the beluga team made us feel special all the time.

De Gouverneur is our go-to spot to unwind or grab a bite when in Maastricht. Good food, good location, good staff! Pros: > Their spare ribs are the best in Maastricht compared to Oak34, Carnal, and Guacho's. Hands down! > The waiting time for food is decent, despite having a lot of customers. > The bar design inside is cool! > Has a lot of seating both indoors and outdoors > Their staff are professional, friendly, and fast Cons: > Breaks the nice atmosphere when it gets crowded. It can get noisy and you bump to other guests.

One of the best cafes, if not the best cafe, in Maastricht. Voluminous and varied beer menu. From bottles to taps there’s a beer here for you. Tasty, quick menu options. Excellent and friendly staff members. Classy and cool vibe. The beer always comes fresh and with a clean glass and the food is always delivered prompt and warm.

A very relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter is very knowledgeable weigh his recommendation of beer which I appreciate a lot. The food was excellent. It was an overall wonderful experience.

A fantastic bar, beer selection is the best I’ve seen outside of Belgium, and everything I asked for was in stock. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed both inside and out. Plenty of helpful servers, my fellow customers were also very pleasant, nobody appeared to be there just for the kick of the stronger beers, again that’s not always the case in Belgian beer bars. It’s not a far walk from the market. I recommend you visit this bar, wish it was in Scotland.

Fantastic Dutch bar an unbelievable beer selection! Great patio with attentive staff and comfortable chairs. Had the Belgian stew, blood sausage, and shrimp krokets. All was amazing quality and for about 10-14EUR per main. Beers were 2-4EUR for the most part. Definitely recommend it!

I recently visited my favorite café, as I always do when I crave a good cup of coffee. They make the best coffee in Maastricht and although I don’t usually drink coffee, when I do, I come here. As usual, I ordered my favorite cappuccino and a piece of cake. While I was waiting, the person behind me in line turned out to be an employee of the café who was visiting her colleagues on her day off. She pointed out to the barista that she had forgotten to place a saucer under my cappuccino and without hesitation, started helping her. I wouldn’t have minded this at all, but what happened next shocked me. Without washing her hands or wearing gloves, she picked up the small biscuit that came with my coffee and moved it to a different saucer—using her bare hands. This completely disgusted me. She had just come in from outside, touching who knows what, and then she handled food meant for a customer. I was so shocked and uncomfortable that I couldn’t eat the biscuit. Generally, the staff isn’t the friendliest, but they do maintain cleanliness. The cakes are always neatly arranged, and the café itself is clean and well-kept. Besides making great coffee, they also serve delicious cakes, which I always enjoy. Despite this unpleasant incident, I’ll continue coming back for my favorite coffee and cakes because they truly are some of the best in town. I just hope they pay more attention to hygiene in the future.

We had a lovely time. We absolutely enjoy our brunch there. The deco was beautiful. The service was fantastic. The servers was kind, helpful and super friendly. The food that we ordered was very good especially the avocado with bread. It was the best that we had so far. Definitely recommend this place.

The best desserts in Maastricht. Incredible flavor combinations and top quality. Delicious coffee. Beautiful style. My favorite desserts are the basil-lime tart and the pecan tart. We've been to this café about 20 times already and we'll definitely keep coming back!

Avocado toast with egg (pic) was good. The cheesecake bit too sweet for my taste. Sitting was pleasant, even though we sat on the couch (the place is full on bfst time). The only complaint is that I asked for the coffee to come with the food, and it was served long before. Not a biggie.

Usually I really like everything I consume here but today I ended up eating a lot of unwanted and undeclared ginger (found in food where it normally wouldn't belong). Please declare the presence of ginger in the ingredients list of your desserts, especially when it's not expected.

I ordered a Hamburger but it was totally rare like a rare steak! I couldn’t eat it at all! The taste was awful! The dish had chips with parsley as sides and it was terrible too! The staff were friendly but I will never go there anymore!

I came to the Rumors Bar for an Old Fashioned, and this was made to perfection. Brenda made the syrup from scratch and ground in the sugar with the Bourbon, 10/10. My second drink wasn't on the menu, a Manhattan, and this was perfectly made.

Disappointing service, sat down and ordered a meals and sides with non alcoholic soft drinks. Waitress then refused to give any tap water citing this was only given to those having alcohol and that to have tap water we would first need to have an alcoholic beverage! What a joke! Avoid! Explains why they had empty tables and others didn’t. Plenty of other fabulous places to eat in Maastricht no need to waste time with this one, plan ahead and book in to avoid places like this- we wish we had! - try Wyk End for example

Good cocktails right here! 🍸 The space is very cozy and has a better display on the back. (Try to get on of those seats). It’s always very busy, so don’t take to much to order, otherwise it’s gonna take a long time to arrive. We asked for Expresso Martinis first, then wine, and beers. The martinis were unbelievable! Truly recommend for pre-drinks.

Excellent little cafe/restaurant! It's located in one of the many narrow streets of Maastricht, away from the immediate hustle and bustle. The lady working there was really lovely, friendly and chatty! She also knew exactly what I wanted without me even needing to ask ("another glass of water?" "The bathroom?"). Decent prices for generous portions.

I loved the wide range of options they had on their menu! Several vegan options and possible to make things gluten-free. I enjoyed a delicious vegan halloumi slice of gluten-free bread. It was presented with many vegetables and tasted amazing! Would definitely come back here!

I’ve been living in Maastricht for 6 years now and every time one of my friends or my family visit me here, I take them here for brunch. The atmosphere is super cozy, the personnel is incredibly nice and the food is delicious! I also love the variety that they bring in the menu through seasonal specials, and no matter if you eat anything or if you have any restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten, allergies etc), you will find great options on their menu. It can get a bit packed around 10/11 am though, so I would recommend coming earlier for brunch☺️

Great food and service. 2 or less Smaller groups have much shorter weight. Mostly crowded spot. Pancakes are tasty, not too watery or dry. Great texture. The caramel sauce is not too sweet.

Both the Rose water latte and cinnamon scroll tasted nice although the oven was broken so the scroll wasn't warm. The servers were friendly but a little hard to flag down. It took multiple tries to get someone to take our order. Overall a cute little spot for brunch with a friend

I loved every bit of this cozy place, right next to the station. We called for a dabbin bagel and Queen of the jungle pancake. It was all so delicious. We were extremely delighted to stumble upon this place and we found so many vegan options. The pancakes were super soft and fluffy made with so much love 💘 we didn't find them dry. The ladies who managed the bar were so warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend anyone in and around maastricht to visit this. Especially if you're vegan, you HAVE TO GO HERE. loved it. This amazing facility had wonderful juice and food which included mixes of savory such as bagels and sandwiches as well as sweet such as pancakes and juices. The juice tasted very fresh as well as the rest of the fruit that we received with our meal. Great facility, food, location, and beverages, a bit pricey to be going to everyday though!

Not only was the food amazing, the atmosphere in the room was perfect. Their attention to detail and creative space inspired me. I had to admire all of the creative lighting, plant hangers and display wall. Oh and the pancakes were so delicious.

Delicious food , but i didn’t like the sens of hospitality that much . i was sitting somewhere there but then i asked to change the table to be able to charge my phone . the servant said yes but then she didn’t clean the table before she let me sit there . i sit anyway but i thought when she is going to bring my food she would see it . she did but she out the food and went away . i end up eatting on a dirty table . she came back and asked me if i finished and took only my plate again and still left it that way . I like the bagels but i won’t be coming again because this shows that this place is not that clean !!

I decided to have lunch here during my visit to Maastricht and really loved the place. The overall atmosphere is really nice and cozy, the staff is super friendly. The carpaccio and salmon bagels tasted good as well. I loved a broad choice of food and drinks and a fact that the menu's were in both Dutch and English :)

I’d been planning to try the salmon bagel at this place for a while, and it turned out to be an incredibly pleasant surprise! €15 for a delicious bagel and a latte sounds like a great deal to me. I can definitely recommend it.

Visited Bagels & Beans for the lunch - it was full of guests. However, we were served very quickly. Nice choice of fancy food - vegan, interesting, and exotic combinations of ingredients in salads and bagels. Loved the drinks, both cold and hot - homemade cocktails, mushroom coffee, and golden coconut milk. The atmosphere is very friendly and pleasant, the interior is spacy and full of light. Heartily recommended.

Great place with a very cozy atmosphere, albeit extremely full on weekends around lunch. I would recommend trying outside peak hours. The food is nice and reasonably priced.
