Beluga Loves You is a top-notch dining destination in Maastricht, offering lavish dishes with innovative twists. The restaurant overlooks the picturesque river Maas and has earned two Michelin stars for its exceptional cuisine. We went from Nijmegen only for dinner at Beluga Loves You and celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and the night was unforgettable! With the snow falling outside (middle of January), it felt like the perfect night!
The food was incredible—I even tried caviar for the first time and egg duck! Every dish was beautifully presented, we paired every dish with wine and non-alcoholic drinks. As someone who’s gluten-free, I really appreciated how well they accommodated me without missing out on any flavors.
The service was good, the ambiance was cozy yet elegant, and overall, it was just a great experience. My first visit to a Michelin restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary, for the place and for the company!

What a phenomenal experience! From the first small bites with a fabulous glass of champagne to the final dessert course, every bite was spectacular. The service was impeccable and the wine pairing was on point. I can’t say enough about how good this meal was. Every dish was so thoughtfully prepared and executed perfectly. All of the servers where on top of of every part of the service. Couldn’t recommend this more if you are looking for an elevated dining experience in the Netherlands. The real bonus was sitting at the chef’s counter and watching how a well oiled machine works. So impressed!
Neglect and slowness
From the moment we walked through the door, our expectations were very high due to the customers' feedback. I believe my wife and I share the same perception that the flavors are varied and harmoniously rich. However, there is something that we kept repeating in our conversation throughout the experience.
We’ve had different experiences at other renowned restaurants and we understand that the steps are complicated and take time, but I think, in this case, they were excessive. We even considered leaving before the desserts. In conclusion, they could handle the situation better by understanding that at a Michelin-starred restaurant, the management of such situations should be more fluid and transparent with customers.
This is not a criticism, but I am a chef at a 5-star hotel, and I want to be critical, especially to preserve gastronomy and customer service.

Over my last 10 starred restaurants this one comes very strong on the Top 2. The atmosphere, overseeing the river, very large room, turns out both classy and natural. Welcoming with apéritive in the lobby before food at the table should be mandatory everywhere. Excellent concept. The mushrooms topped dark bread was fantastic. Service was extremely friendly, doing lot of efforts in different languages. The food was very well structured. The first "wow" effect with the cold appetiser is followed by a very complex fish assembly, before the excellently cooked veal. Cheese selection was completely satisfying but might be weaker compared to the rest of the menu. When coming to Holland one might have too high expectations on this. Overall definitely one of the best price to quality and experience ratio in Europe (benchmarking with many comparable places in different countries).

De Bisschopsmolen is a historic watermill located just a short walk from the city center, along the Jeker River. The mill has been in operation since the seventh century and now houses a popular bakery where visitors can purchase delicious breads and pastries or enjoy them in the cozy cafe. Guided tours of the mill are also available for those interested in learning about its millennium-old flour production process.
Must visit. The coffee, sandwiches, people, atmosphere ... Everything is amazing here. Even the locality is right out of an 80s postcard.
But, reserve a table. The place is extremely crowded and everyone wants to eat here.

Visited couple times and i won’t be lying when i said: reserve before coming (if possible) because the place is small yet everyone wants to eat vlaai here. Other pastries also available (broodjeworst, also a favorite from this place). Recommended to pack some pieces home for your loved ones because you haven’t visited maastricht without vlaai from their place.

A must try Vlaai (traditional limburg pie, one kf maastricht pastry icon!) the strawberry one is really niceee and big portion! We share 1 for 2 people! The mint tea is also nice! They have dine in place with quite small capacity <3 sooo warm also beside there is a beautiful old mill

Lovely bakery with beautiful watermill in the back. Highly recommend the Vlaai here. Its a traditional treat in this region that you must try if stopping by.

Bistrot-Bar 't Wycker Cabinet is a classic French bistro with a touch of the Mediterranean, offering an authentic and cozy atmosphere in Maastricht. The restaurant serves traditional French dishes like Cote de Boeuf, Moules de Bouchots, escargots, and profiteroles. Additionally, it features a chic cocktail bar with a wide selection of cocktails inspired by both classic recipes and modern techniques.
Very nice ambience, fast and kind service. The flammkuchen were large and well prepared. The special truffle pasta was very good. For dessert, we ordered the homemade mousse, it was amazing.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Maastricht. The service is always warm & friendly - attentive without being cloying - and the food delicious.
The menu varies slightly by season and they always offer seasonal specials. My husband generally chooses the toast poulet & avocado or the Caesar salad and I am obsessed with the flammkuchen Gruyère and their French onion soup.
Honestly, though, you can’t go wrong here. Every single thing we’ve ordered here has been a hit with us.

Returned multiple times, tried various dishes and I haven’t found one thing to complain about. Coffee, soup, burger, bread dishes etc all maintains consistent quality. Also quick with service.
Good food, delicious flammkuchen and had the most delicious caprese ravioli with sundried tomatoes and pistachio. Recommend the pasta and gruyére flammkuchen. My parents and I were impressed with these dishes.
I ate at this restaurant with a friend. We payed separately as our company paid for our lunch. I asked my receipt (not the total) but for these I paid. The guy that serviced us told me that I have to send an e-mail in order the logistic part of their company see their system and that they have the ability for this. I sent an e-mail and they replied that this is not possible. Now I have to apology to my company because of their unawareness. They do not even know between the staff what they can do and what not!!!

I will forever be chasing an eggs Benedict as good as the one I had here, as that hollandaise sauce over that sourdough was divine.
If you do sit outside, just walk in before you sit and give a wave to the staff so they know to come out and check on you/order.

This place is usually quite busy, especially on weekends, but it’s definitely a great spot for breakfast. Even though there was no table available when we arrived, we only had to wait about 5 minutes. There are plenty of tables, so one frees up quickly—no need to worry.
The tables are placed quite close to each other, but if that doesn’t bother you, it shouldn't be an issue.
For the quantity, presentation, flavour, and service you get, it’s definitely worth it. The coffee is very good and well prepared. Nothing extraordinary, but still good. The food, on the other hand, is simply fantastic—delicious and beautifully presented.
The bathrooms are clean, and the interior is lovely. I do feel that it is a franchise, but it doesn’t disappoint.
The menu is quite extensive. If you don’t know Dutch or English, it may feel a bit overwhelming, but worst case, you can always use Google Translate.
This is THE PLACE TO BE for a morning coffee and healthy bowl. It made me want to wake up everyday to have breakfast in the breezy and fresh cobblestone streets of maastricht. We tried the yogurt bowl and the mango bowl. Both very flavorful, generous, super fresh fruits and crunchy home made granola that topped it all. Must try! We also tried the egg wrap, very filling and tasty.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the staff’s attitude made the experience less enjoyable. When we arrived it was full, so we said we were happy to wait. However, the staff told us—rather rudely—that we could not sit while waiting and directed us to stand in a particular spot. This created a poor impression at the start. While the food and setting are very good, the service left much to be desired.
Maybe they had a bad day, but the food wasn’t good. Eggs benedict had extremely salty sauce. Pancakes tasted like sad microwaved bread ( couldn’t finish them). Cappuccino and smoothie were good. Presentation of the food is beautiful.

The food was great! We got the eggs benedict /van wyck eggs. They make one of the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had. They did overdid it with the smoked salmon on my bread but that’s more of a personal preference. The coffee and matcha are decent. All in all great place for breakfast/brunch.

Myself and two friends had a layover in Maastricht before starting our return to Texas last week. Ive spent a lot of time in Maastricht over the past 25 years but had never tried this place. The staff was very attentive, The food was excellent. After we finished eating we discovered the inside had AC and we grabbed a seat right beside the kitchen. We quickly noticed the what a tight kitchen the chef was running. Everything was spotless and the young chef was on top of his game. One of the better run kitchens Ive ever seen. We complimented him as we left. If life allows me I will return to Maastricht and visit De Gouverneur again.

One of the best cafes, if not the best cafe, in Maastricht. Voluminous and varied beer menu. From bottles to taps there’s a beer here for you. Tasty, quick menu options. Excellent and friendly staff members. Classy and cool vibe.

A fantastic bar, beer selection is the best I’ve seen outside of Belgium, and everything I asked for was in stock. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed both inside and out. Plenty of helpful servers, my fellow customers were also very pleasant, nobody appeared to be there just for the kick of the stronger beers, again that’s not always the case in Belgian beer bars. It’s not a far walk from the market. I recommend you visit this bar, wish it was in Scotland.

Fantastic Dutch bar an unbelievable beer selection! Great patio with attentive staff and comfortable chairs. Had the Belgian stew, blood sausage, and shrimp krokets. All was amazing quality and for about 10-14EUR per main. Beers were 2-4EUR for the most part. Definitely recommend it!

The food was delicious! I was there for lunch yesterday with 3 friends, ohhh and the capuchino with extra delicious sweets. Very friendly service, but what impressed us the most was a young man working there, paying a lot of attention to the clients as if he could read our minds, then we saw him helping a lady who seemed disabled to reach the toilet. We all awe what a sweet person.

Fantastic place with really excellent regional specialities. We had em all. Onion soup, Asparagus soup, beef stew, pickled rabbit, and when we wondered if we could get something for our dog (who had been welcomed with open arms) chef did a beautiful salmon steak without sauce etc and they unilaterally chose to make it half price! All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Though i suspect we’ve made a rod for our own backs re the hound! Did i say that the service was more than excellent. Loved this place
The salad was good. The meat in the skewers was dry. The place is covers with trashy plastic flowers. Surfaces were dusty. They’ve covered the beautiful brick wall with ugly pictures. Plastic broken flowers on the tables. The lunch menu is interesting with local dishes, but the dinner menu is really boring.

My first compliment is for the great serving attitude the staff has: from the person who welcomed us without a reservation and made an effort to give us a place where we hoped to be seated, to the waitress who graciously dealt with my “extra side dish” wishes.
The second compliment is to the chef. His/her Salmon Filet with potato gratin with a secret (broccoli) ingredient was so mouthwatering, so I had to order another one! 😇

My lowest ever review. Came in drawn by highly praised reviews. Place looks really good, nice setting, great building and fabulous inner court. However, staff seamed very distracted by something, drinks were served smaller than should have been and then staff totally forgot to ask or offer anything else. Can’t comment on food because I didn’t get a chance to try anything.
The service was good and the food was ok. Tried the zoervleis (beef stew) for the first time, surprisingly decent. They also have a nice selection of tap beers.
Glad I got to try the stew. Fish and chips were good. Our server was not as friendly but we enjoyed the evening.

I recently visited my favorite café, as I always do when I crave a good cup of coffee. They make the best coffee in Maastricht and although I don’t usually drink coffee, when I do, I come here. As usual, I ordered my favorite cappuccino and a piece of cake.
While I was waiting, the person behind me in line turned out to be an employee of the café who was visiting her colleagues on her day off. She pointed out to the barista that she had forgotten to place a saucer under my cappuccino and without hesitation, started helping her. I wouldn’t have minded this at all, but what happened next shocked me.
Without washing her hands or wearing gloves, she picked up the small biscuit that came with my coffee and moved it to a different saucer—using her bare hands. This completely disgusted me. She had just come in from outside, touching who knows what, and then she handled food meant for a customer. I was so shocked and uncomfortable that I couldn’t eat the biscuit.
Generally, the staff isn’t the friendliest, but they do maintain cleanliness. The cakes are always neatly arranged, and the café itself is clean and well-kept. Besides making great coffee, they also serve delicious cakes, which I always enjoy. Despite this unpleasant incident, I’ll continue coming back for my favorite coffee and cakes because they truly are some of the best in town. I just hope they pay more attention to hygiene in the future.

It was very hard to find an unoccupied table here at Maastricht during King’s Day but we managed to get a table at Café de Bóbbel (which was a huge surprise as I questioned how this great place isn’t full during this Saturday evening:)
Mussels are the absolute-must-have! Also, you must order their bouillabaisse, which was full of flavours🍲
Additionally, we order an amazing steak tartare and a portion of spaghetti with truffles. Both meals were delicious!
If you are looking for a place to have a great lunch or dinner, I highly recommend paying Café de Bóbbel a visit!

Staffs was really friendly and nice. We went during lunch hour and had a sandwiches burger. Tastes are fine and there are other choices too but personally felt the others less interesting. However, didn’t manage to try their mosselen so probably will be returning for another try!

Very nice restaurant with great service. Beautiful interior with a central bar location. Nice selection of food and drinks. Main courses were mostly just over 20 Euros, and drink prices were very reasonable. Raymond is an excellent host, and the entire staff is responsive and efficient.

Edit: upon returning once again on another visit to Maastricht, we had a scrumptious feast, enjoyed by several drinks. So glad that the service and quality has been maintained!
We had moules avec de frites which were good. Not great but good. What bothered us was that other people around us ordered later than us and got the food earlier. We waited 30 minutes for the escargots and another 40 minutes for the moules which is too long and not acceptable.

What an amazing place in the square, I took my foodie friends there and they loved it. Luster is a cozy Mediterranean spot in Maastricht with super tasty shared dishes. The Steak Tartare and Bao Buns were standouts, and the vibe is relaxed but stylish. Great flavors, friendly service—definitely worth a visit!

While it is a shared concept dining , I found that slightly difficult to follow. Compared to other such similar places, the menu framed it as a starter and main course. When ordered as such, the staff seemed unclear on what we intended to do.
The starters were very good, the mussels and Korean chicken were done great. The main courses were slightly less impressive, the duck was good but the sauce was a bit excessive. The dumplings were ok.
The cocktails looked nice conceptually, but ended up being quite excessively sweet.
It would be 4 stars if not the high price.
The two chairs were full of hair or fur... The presentation of the dishes was not bad. They were not spiced at all what is ok when you have salt and pepper on your table. We wanted to ask waiters for bringing us spices, but they were too busy by talking 3 of them and by ignoring us. The cherry on the top was hair in the dish of my husband and the bone in my filet of the fish. The portions are too small for the paid price (ex. Only fish with the sauce is 25.50€, fries = 6€). I would not recommend it!
Really nice food and atmosphere, waiter was kinda rude though 😔 Also I don’t know if it’s customary but what kind of place makes it a requirement to order drinks even if you’re getting food? Maybe it’s just a culture shock but I’d keep that in mind if I were to go again.

Went there for a date night, the service was amazing, foods were excellent. We didn’t drink anything because I can’t have any alcohol, but the lobster and shrimps we had was absolutely delicious. Also talked to a lady when she just finished her meal and walked out the restaurant, she also loves it here. It’s an amazing place for a romantic date night, highly recommend! :)

It's a nice restaurant, good service, nice ambient. However I have been underwhelmed by all but a couple dishes: oysters were great, tuna tartare was quite good. Everything else was well prepared but quite ordinary. Not a bad restaurant, but I would not suggest it.
We sat outside yesterday and had a lovely evening. The 5-course surprise meal consisted of fruits de mer, classical tuna tartar, grilled squid with orange and union compote, bakked haddock (the star of the evening!) and an ananas with coconut sorbet dessert. All very well prepared and served with nice details. This is a fish-restaurant though, few veggies or carbs. But given the friendly and attentive service, I guess you can ask. The few questions we had, were all met with a positive " off course".
The price of the menu is very reasonable. Your bill will, as usual with this level of detail and attention, be more dependent on the glasses you drink! The three of us had two bottles of a very nice Bourgogne Blanc Aligoté, 35€ twice. And that was not all we drank 🙂

I had the ceviche and all of the flavors were on point with a nice kick of spice. I ordered the rack of lamb next to it was tender and flavorful. The staff and patrons were also very friendly. We had a reservation indoors, but were seated outside anyway — no one seemed to care or take responsibility. The service was very slow, but the staff was friendly and pleasant. Food is okay but nothing special. The view on the city center from the terrace is stunning though.
We discovered this precious little gem by coincidence and we were thrilled by the location directly at the border of the river Maas in Maastricht.

I got a pasta dish with lemon sauce, peanuts and asparagus and for 22€ it was underwhelming. Barely any peanuts on that dish! Overall, I would not recommend this if you are hungry and want good value for your money
Delicious food and realy fast service. Definitely recommend the pork belly if its on the menu. The beef tournedos is also fantastic. I am typically not a fan of French wines, but our server was patient and successfull in having us try some delicious wine that paired very nicely with our dishes
I visited your restaurant today and ordered the Caesar Salad listed with chicken. However, when the dish arrived it also included fish and bacon ingredients that were not mentioned on the menu.
As we do not eat bacon for personal reasons, we were unfortunately unable to eat the salad. We would kindly recommend listing all key ingredients on the menu in the future to avoid misunderstandings. Thank you.
Okay restaurant, but extremely rude staff (esp mid-aged light bearded guy who waited our table) and waited for main course for over 90mins (although we came well after rush hour). We asked to try a bit of draft beer, and were told they are busy. When asked for our food status, were told that we had appetizers with implication that it was okay for main course to take 90 mins. We asked to split bill between 2 cards (4 people), again received attitude that they are busy to do that for every table. It’s okay to say no, but you don’t need to scold your customers when you do so, and own your mistakes when you fail to deliver reasonable dining experience.

Where do I begin. This experience was a great disappointment for me and my family. We had booked weeks in advance for a graduation dinner party of 11. The service was good but one of the members were inappropriate. I was served the tomato soup for starters which was bland and sour. Much too acidic - 2/5 - I could not even finish. For the main course, I ordered the Jamaican jerk chicken. This was my own error because how could I expect a Dutch restaurant to pull off a meal like this? I blame myself. The chicken was simply inadequately prepared, the combination of flavours on the plate also did not make sense… I left it untouched. Presentation made it look appealing…. The desert which was a simple vanilla ice cream and warm fruits. It was ok. It is safe to say I will not be returning here. Other members of the party were also unsatisfied with their meals and shared similar reservations.
Absolutely amazing place. The food is exquisite, prepared with the freshest local ingredients. I have no idea how they made that tomato soup, or the beef stew that I enjoyed as the main course. I wanted to keep the taste in my mouth long after I had finished each dish.
Highly recommended to anyone, especially for mixed couples that consist of one vegetarian and one meat eater, like me and my girlfriend.

2018: Really nice restaurant which I always try to visit when in Maastricht. Friendly staff, good food for reasonable price. This time I took the 4 course dinner. Only the time between the courses was really long but for the rest it was lovely again. I will be back

Service was good in the beginning of our stay, but after our main course no one come to our table for half an hour or so. We wanted a dessert and coffee but eventually decided to leave since no one asked us.
Super friendly staff, food was really nice. No hustle even with specific restrictions due to food allergies e.g. Glutenfree and nut allergies.

When on the other side of the river it's a good place to have a drink or two.
I am no drinker by any stretch of the imagination and never go out drinking in the UK because basically - pubs - which ones are left because a lot of them are closing down, are not the most inviting of places, especially if you are not a local. They can be quite hostile if you are not a local but when walking past Zondag one night during my stay in Maastricht. I saw happy people having a nice time on the outside tables. So, I thought I would take a chance and I ventured inside to have a beer.
The bar was staffed by three friendly guys, service was swift and the beer was good. My beer was actually served in an old fashioned British pint glass with a handle - something I hadn't seen for at least 30 years in a British pub. So, I was taken to my environs immediately.
So, when it came to payment. Their card reader wouldn't take my card and the friendly barman shrugged and said cheerfully 'We have problems with British debit cards unfortunately' and I said 'well, I have a Chinese debit card, let's try that!' which made him laugh, it made me laugh too as it had less chance of working than my British card but actually, the Chinese debit card kind of works OK in the Netherlands but it is a bit more hit-and-miss than my British bank card as you can imagine (for the record - we tried the Chinese debit card - it didn't work!).
The way the bar staff at Zondag dealt with this problem and the solutions they offered impressed me so much that I am on here writing about it and am happy to give them full marks for their service, friendliness and understanding. Thankfully, my British debit card started motoring on the second attempt and I managed to pay for my drinks.
What would have happened in the UK if that happened? Maybe death, dirty looks, comments about my dearly missed, deceased mother? More than likely! The chilled out response from my friends in Zondag? Doubtful!
So, full marks to all staff at Zondag! Thank you for your understanding and may you have many more happy evenings with your wonderful patrons.
A nice place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. I really appreciate their wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks - it's not your usual Coke & Sprite. Their kombucha is especially tasty (really sour). The food is also pretty decent, I tried the tortilla de patatas - it was nice but a bit bland and cold. The only thing that really bothers me is their service. I went several times and they barely come to your table once. After that they never come back, even if they are not busy at all. It seems that they do not really care about the customers, which I find annoying. If it weren't for their bad service, the place itself deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, it ruins the whole experience, so if you don't mind, give it a try.
We ate breakfast here and the food was just immaculate, I ordered the cheese toastie and the cheese was just perfect and very unique (probably the best toastie I’ve eaten in my whole life). The staff were really friendly, I recommend coming early as it gets busy within minutes! From Kuwait 🇰🇼

Former fire station turned to be a stylish restaurant a la Maastrich style. The menu is solid, the drinks sophisticated and the service is efficient. Spacious and also outdoor seating.
Located in the former fire brigades garage, a bit outside the center of Maastricht. Good variety in the menu to suit vegetarians, vegans and meat/fish eaters. Interesting combinations. We had the white fish with asparagus and the ball zucchinis with feta cheese. Both excellent and recommended. The leafy salad was good, too, because it was indeed a large bowl of mixed salad leafs. Just the way I like it! We did not have space in our stomachs to try a desser, but the black coffee was good and came with a small chocolate chip cookie. The brandweer kantine has a nice outdoor terras and multiple cocktails, beers and wines. You can spend a long and pleasant evening here.

Tried this place multiple times during both lunch and dinner hours. Lunch they have multiple choices for Brezel sandwiches & Sourdough. Dinner they serve different main dishes covering different type of proteins. I especially like their Tuesday Schnitzel special. Fish is not common on the menu but it tastes fantastic too. Not to mention this place is also offering vegetarian dishes too!
Overall, good food, chill vibe, excellent space. Worth a visit.

For me it wasn’t really worth it, the place is cute and the staff is super nice but it feels they surf on the vibe of what’s trendy instead of investing in the quality. Yea everyone wants avocado toast, yogurt bowls, and oat milk in their coffee, but I would make it better at home.. I feel they didn’t taste the food they are serving, and just gonna put together smashed avocado, tomatoes and egg (for example).. it lacked taste and balance between elements

The menu offered a wide selection of traditional Cantonese dishes at surprisingly reasonable prices. The inclusion of pictures was a helpful touch, making it easier to navigate the choices.
The starters were outstanding—perfectly seasoned, well-balanced, and incredibly fresh. Even for someone who prefers saltier flavors, there was no need for additional seasoning. The sauces provided at the table complemented the dishes beautifully.
The main courses continued to impress with their freshness, quality, and elegant presentation. Even the dessert, a carefully plated ice cream dish, was a delightful highlight.
The drink selection was standard but perfectly adequate. The house-made iced tea was particularly well presented and a refreshing choice.

The value for money was excellent. Given the high quality of both the food and service, the prices were more than fair—if anything, slightly lower than expected for such a top-tier experience. This alone makes Wen Chow a place worth returning to.

Decided to try out something new with a friend and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing, the tofu was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even though they didn’t have a lot of vegetarian options the ones they had were amazing! The best part is that we ordered 2 different options with fried rice, but it’s made in a way that you share all of it, so we got the best of both worlds! Surely coming back :)

The dim sum was PHENOMENAL. We ordered the deep fried dumpling with pork, steamed rice roll, half plate of roasted pork belly and duck (comes with rice), and siu mai. Everything was flavorful and authentic, with great texture.

Ask for the Chinese menu! They have more options than the western menu. Dimsum was decent. Some items were better than others but overall it was a nice lunch 🥪 4.5 stars overall
In general the food was decent, duck was perhaps the only highlight. Fried pakchoi with fish slices (as written in the chinese menu) was not what was expected as fish slices you would expect usually proper marinated white fish slices and not just fish cake which is super artificial. Additionally, paying extra 5€ for "fish slices" does not justify the price.
Dimsum quality could also be better, and the fried rice noodles were thick and not what you would usually get at chinese restaurants. All in all would not recommend this restaurant for people who are looking for authentic cantonese food.

We could not have asked for a more perfect evening. Very friendly and welcoming staff, three homerun dishes and the perfect ambiance. We sat inside as it was cold out with the patio closed and it felt like a little greenhouse in there. We ordered the Baba Ghanoush and Mutabal as our apps with the Coscia d'Anatra, Kharuf, and Orata Alla Griglia as our mains. Each one was perfectly cooked and flavored. Really nice cuisine and impeccable vibe when you get to enjoy the garden in summer. I love food options in general but I’ve had better hummus and Baba ganoush for cheaper, The main dish also felt a bit lacking for the price. Almost no garnish except some potatoes and a sad salad.
What a gem of a place! The garden setting is so charming and the hospitality was 5-star. Tasty, generous food and you have a perfect restaurant.
We went on a sunny weekday afternoon with our two kids and enjoyed the atmosphere in the beautiful park-like backyard behind the former brewery. We tried their elderberry-infused beer that was so good that we took a bottle home. We had the octopus, the duck leg and the baba ganoush which were delicious. We will come back and recommend this to any food lover! Service was excellent as well, free cold water included.

Je ne regrette rien by Edith Piaf was playing in the background. I didn't regret anything at Le Fernand : friendly waiters, good quality food, short waiting times. And above all, a great selection of wines. I had the oysters as appetizer. The grilled tuna as a main. Comes with bread and olive tapenade. Classic style and familiar. But very well executed. Cook looks still young but did well.
The only disadvantage : there's a pie bakery shop opposite, window shelve with pastries looks heavenly too. A good lunch. Really enjoyed.
During our Maastricht trip, we've visited Le Fernand for some delicious local cuisine - french inspired. There is outdoor and indoor seating available. The restaurant is located in the old town, so might be busy during peak hours. Definitely worth a trip! Staff are friendly and food comes out quickly.

The menu is not huge but is a nice balance between fish, meat and others and most dishes leave you wanting more because they taste amazing.
They have a great variety of drinks besides a, to be expected a bit, good selection of wines.
The menu doesn't do justice, do ask the staff or check the boards hanging throughout the place.
We were slightly disappointed with the pastries for dessert however which lacked flavor compared to the beautiful dishes served.

We went for lunch on Sunday and had the 6-course menu, adding the Wagyu to top it off. The staff were really friendly and attentive, explaining all the courses and giving great wine recommendations to pair with them. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We’ll definitely be back – next time for dinner! Do make a reservation well in advance though, as it’s a very popular restaurant.

We had an overall lovely experience. Unique location, great food, wine and presentation. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The service was truly great. We would recommend Onglet and think they will probably receive a Michelin star soon.
However there were a view things we personally missed a bit;
The chefs welcome was very tasty. Great bread, butters and one charcuterie. We would have loved a couple of different charcuterie’s to taste as it is a “butcher’s place. And preferred to have some steak after the first 2 courses. All dishes were haute cuisine style, which we love but we would have liked if it switched off between haute cuisine dishes and a good piece of steak. This was only the case at the very end; a steak to share.
We have to mention that there is an option to choose pieces of meat as add on to the tasting menu. We didn’t choose that at first, as we thought there must be a lot of meat coming up already. The tasting lasted a bit long (3 hours for 6 small to medium size dishes) which also made us skip ordering more meat towards the end. We closed our meal with the cheese tasting; which was a lovely selection.
Even with (partial) corona lockdown this little place should be on your to do list. Grab a couple of the amazing sandwiches to go, order a nice bottle of wine and have your own fancy lunch. If the sandwiches are an indication, the (hidden) restaurant must be great as well.
As Onglet is a butcher store, begane/ vegetarians might want to skip this place. The rest of you, have fun...
Super lovely place in the centre of Maastricht. Very varied menu, loads of unique flavours and combinations, very well executed and a true food journey. Loads of little sharing dishes that are brought consecutively, so this is a great place to go on a romantic date or when you truly want a long, nice evening (as it did take about 3 hours). Absolutely delicious though and highly recommend it!
Sometimes you find something that you did not expect and were not looking for, that just makes you go "wow!". That is what happened when I looked in the window of this deli, then when I tried some of their delicious food! The "Knabbelspek" (pork belly with magic done to it) is about one of the most delcicious things I have eaten. Just off the scale. That good!
What an incredible dinner experience this has been! The dinner feels surreal, like a private chef experience with the most delicious dishes. Also loved the very special atmosphere (just let it surprise you and don't look up any pictures beforehand). And also our biggest thank you goes out to the incredible staff. This evening was a dream! We´ll be back :)

One of the best coffee shops in town! Super cozy, great coffee, and mouthwatering desserts. The place may look like a coffee shop, but it’s much more. It’s a place to sip great coffee, enjoy delicious cakes, eat, and work (available separate stations for laptops).. staff were super friendly and helpful! KOFFIE is a great place to sit down for a drink with friends or to grab a coffee to go. The coffee is strong, yet has a lovely earthy taste that’s best enjoyed with regular or plant-based milk. It’s also excellent as an iced option on a hot summer day. We also tried the carrot cake, which was exceptional — moist and flavourful, with warm cinnamon notes. The citrusy buttercream on top is creamy and rich in flavour, and it pairs well with the chopped walnuts, which add a nice crunch and texture. The staff are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere inside the café is pleasant. They even have dedicated laptop spaces with plugs for studying or work. It may get a bit noisy at times, but most people there don’t seem to mind.
Excellent place, great atmosphere and good latte! They have plant based options for milk and vegan options for cakes and sweets. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re visiting Maastricht, even just for a takeaway coffee.

I gave it two additional tries after the first visit in hopes the poor customer service the first time was a one time event. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the fantastic views are not worthy of the very poor customer service. I would pay the high prices for mediocre food for the view, but the way we were “greeted”, and served our drinks and food made me feel frustrated each time we left. It almost feels like they don’t actually want customers coming to their restaurant. There are many places in Maastricht that have beautiful view (on ground level) with fantastic customer service and food.

Food really good, really nice location. However it took them 40 minutes to take our food order at lunchtime. We had to ask them to come and take our order. When the food came it was wrong so they took it away and then had to bring it back correct. The food was very tasty when it did arrive.

Underground like cocktail bar. One of the most unique bar we had in Maastricht. Reserve before you visit, no visible sign outside of the door so you need to be careful when you ring the doorbell. Then, staff will bring you in and introduce you the drinks. (They are cute and super nice!)

Mr. Smith is a hidden cocktail bar in Maastricht with a great atmosphere. The entrance is easy to miss—you have to ring a doorbell to get in, which adds a fun and exclusive touch. Once inside, the space is cozy, stylish, and dimly lit, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed night out.

One thing to note—they are very strict about reservations. If you book a table, make sure to be on time, as they won’t hold it for long. It makes sense given how small the place is, but it does feel a bit rigid.

A cozy cocktail bar with a speakeasy, living room feeling. Service was great. The waitress was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive, and you're served with complementary sides of chips and popcorn.
Quality of the cocktails was excellent. We do a lot of mixing ourselves and visit cocktail bars wherever we go, so we recognize a good cocktail when we taste one. This was definitely up there. I've seen some reviews complain about the prices, but we thought they were very fair for how small scale the establishment is and how good everything was. This is simply what a decent cocktail costs.
While we got in without a reservation, we would recommend making one considering the size of the place.

One thing you have to know when you are planning to go for a drink… when you use the gps and you are at the place you will not see the signs.. you will recognize it on the door handle … it’s a must .. good to experience it. Be prepared to be lost in the street looking for the place - don't miss out the door nº55 with the buzzer for drinks! One of the best "to-do" in Maastricht. Starting with the "secret bar" experience, to the friendly and experienced service that gave us many recommendations and was really fast on delivering the drinks. Regarding these ones, were extremely well done, and suitable for the price, served with some snacks. The place itself is a basement with vintage items and small tables. Perfect for a date, pre-drinks, or just a cocktail night. Truly recommend!

We were sitting on the terrace and it took a long time when the waiter was finally outside. Took quite some time for him to come back with the menu and even longer before he came back to order.
Probably it was just busy or understaffed I don't know but we were annoyed by the waiting times.

I wish you could smell pictures because this is the best restaurant in Maastricht without doubts! The service is awesome. They take their time to explain you how the place works, to give you any recommendations or explanations. You can see that it's a family restaurant and although not every worker is blood related you can get the feeling of a family. It's an italian restaurant and as such all of the employees are italian, therefore the food is REAL italian and the products as well, if not local. The fact that they have day specials shows you how much they care about improving and trying new things for every taste.
On top of it, this dinner was a surprise birthday celebration and they coordinated it perfectly to make it such an special moment. When the dessert was ordered they were told to put the candles on it. I'm so grateful to have done such an special dinner in this amazing place.
It is a small restaurant so I will recommend to book before (by the time you arrive your table is ready).

Very good experience and totally recommended for special occasions or for times you want to taste well made typical Italian dishes with some nice twists.
The place has been recently renovated and it looks very elegant and welcoming.
Every dish served was tasty, rich and delicious. Especially the Carbonara tartufata was a explosion of flavors.
Also, Giacopo was super friendly with us and asked for special treatment for my pregnant wife that was also celebrating her birthday.
We had as secondo a tagliatelle, but to be safe they divided it and made two dishes with different cooking points so tat both of us can enjoy it in a safe way.
Lastly, they made us a special swan figure with candles to sing happy birthday. This was so sweet and beautiful.
This place offers the best pasta dishes and Italian style meat I've tried in the city.
Toscanella Apuana serves what is, without question, my favorite pizza in Maastricht. Like, chef’s kiss levels of crispy, chewy, tomatoey perfection. The pasta? Well… depends. Some dishes are a little too enthusiastic with the oil—like the chef is trying to personally fund the olive industry.
As for the service: efficient. Very efficient. In the sense that the waiter starts cleaning your table the second your fork hits the plate, with the subtle energy of “please leave now.” It’s like dining in Italy, if Italy were in a hurry to close.
Still, I’ll keep going back—for the pizza and the emotional thrill of eating under mild time pressure.
We had starter, and main I order Orecchiette alla Vongole. Orecchiette was really nice and love it, just personally not my favourite way to pair with the vongole.
The focaccia is heaven and I can speak nothing about this. All on point.
Wine was good, atmosphere was ok. So, I will definitely visit again if there is chance.

Always a fan of shared dining and this place does it well with slight improvement points.
The taste of the food is great. Everything is well balanced and dishes flow into each other perfectly. Next to that portions are pretty decent! Presentation is also great, but sometimes a bit less practical for sharing. A lot of dishes would work well as a serving for a single person. But the shared aspect makes it so you can try everything. It’s like trying food from each others plates.
It is slightly pricey, but the service is pretty darn good. Very friendly, service oriented, but could do with a slightly more human touch. Having a server be a bit more connected just makes food taste better. But that’s obviously a personal preference.
All in all, a very nice place with very nice food. Close to 5 star. If I could give it 4,5 I would.

Actually the place is not bad but I found the food is average in terms of taste , I order ceviche which was very mild ( no lemons ) the bread was not baked enough. The Adna Wagyu has a mediocre taste. Any how the staff was very friendly.
Food is overpriced and not good at all. Meat is not tender and the flavours don't blend in at all. Just the service is okay that makes it bearable. Overal if you wanna throw away money for a low-mid dinner it's fine.

Nice ambience. The food was good at affordable prices. Nice place to hang out with friends and family. The host was very kind and friendly.
We visited 4 times in the last two weeks, and the host provided a nice coffee for each vegetarian thali. It's totally amazing to end the dinner. The chef kindly asked everyone about the dietary requirements and prepared the food accordingly.

Wherever we go and ask for spicy food, we always end up disappointed. But not this place, it wasn’t just spicy only but also very tasty.
They have an excellent chef in the kitchen and my hats off to him.
If you like it spicy, this is the place. But don’t worry, they won’t make it spicy unless you ask for it so white people need not sweat about it 😅
The food was beyond comparison. Excellent Food, Service and Atmosphere. The food is delicious, and is identical to great food from India. The service was prompt and efficient, with even a large group being seated quickly. My friend got a special birthday surprise. The atmosphere was very old-timey Indian music + art on the walls that evoked India. 10/10, do visit.
Great and friendly service! The waiter gave us great recommendations and even personalized our dishes on request. Unfortunately the food was bland and the portions were very small, but we loved the coconut and raisin naan and mint yoghurt. The pickle as a side was a bit too spicy for our taste.

After days of struggling to find proper Indian food in Belgium — the kind that hits you with real flavour, not just decoration — we finally gave up and drove to the Netherlands.
And it was worth every mile.
Spice of India in Maastricht delivered exactly what we needed: warmth, familiarity, and actual spice that didn’t hold back.
We ordered:
Palak Paneer – Creamy, well-balanced, not overloaded with ghee. The paneer was fresh and soft, not rubbery.
Dal Tarka – The highlight for me. Smoky, rich, and absolutely packed with proper tempered garlic flavour.
Chole (Chickpeas) – Cooked through perfectly, with deep masala notes and zero shortcuts.
Tandoori Roti – Thin, crisp-edged, with just enough chew — done properly in a clay oven.
Basmati Rice – Fragrant, fluffy, and not a single clump.
Papadum – Fresh, crunchy, not stale or soggy like so many places.
Mango Lassi – Smooth, just sweet enough, and ice-cold. The kids finished theirs before we sat down.
The service? Calm, respectful, and welcoming. No pretence. They treated our kids kindly, and the owner even came to check if we needed anything else — not in a pushy way, just genuine hospitality.
We left full, satisfied, and already planning our return.
In fact, we did promise to come back the next day — but ended up arriving after 10pm, too late. Gutted.

If you ever crave a burger when you are at or close to Maastricht, look no further and make your way to Burgerlijk! Their burgers (especially their Wagyu burgers as shown in the pictures) are hard to beat! And did I mention their sweet potato fries? Pair these crispy pieces of heaven with their delectable burgers and you will most certainly be in for a treat!
Cost-wise, the prices are more or less par for the course for most restaurants in the Netherlands; getting one of their juicy burgers along with a helping of sweet potato fries and a drink will set you back a little below 25 EUR. While this restaurant is definitely not the cheapest, I still find myself frequenting Burgerlijk for its delicious grub!
Overall, I recommend Burgerlijk to anyone who loves a good burger! Aside from the amazing food, the restaurant has some of the kindest waiters and its interior exudes a very cozy ambiance.

Nice little place in the heart of Wyck, cafe style, with a small menu with enough options for all (veg, allergies).The service is very friendly and casual, a bit slow at times but the delicious burger (the classic with all the toppings!) made up for it. I have been asking for my missing payslips for months on end and the owner has been ignoring me. Very shady and illegal stuff is happening in this place and it needs to be checked by the authorities. The rats are crawling all over the kitchen, the management is not taking health concerns of employees seriously, and the food itself is rotten and still served. (This is from the past experiences of old employees, now the reality could be different). Be aware when visiting that your money is supporting a very deficient and unethical business environment.

The ambience is great and the food is delicious. However, some points could surely be improved. First, during reservation I indicated that one person does not eat meat. As appetizer we got sliced sausage, nothing else. Not really prepared I wonder? We had reserved at 17.30 but the restaurant first opened at 17.45, a little bit more respect for the customer perhaps? When examining the wine chart, the owner disappeared and the waitress first asked us just before the main course which wine we wanted. A little late perhaps? The food is really good but the greens with the first course where prepared without love and the carrots of the main course were quite uncooked and hard to cut with a knife. The dessert was also in need of some TLC. Price wise it is fine, the courses are very well priced, some wines are however quite expensive when compared to market prices.As said earlier, the food is really good and it was a great experience but it could be excellent when paying attention to some details and some more TLC.
I am currently visiting Maastricht from Den Haag and have just had the 5-course Christmas Day menu at Bouchon d’en Face. It was such a lovely experience and it was nicely decorated for Christmas, with Christmas music playing. I had the pescatarian option, as I do not eat meat and the chef did a fabulous job with making these changes for me. All 5 courses were so tasty and the wine and champagne were great too. I also wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ to the staff; I was dining alone, and they all made me feel comfortable and were attentive to me. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Maastricht.
We visited Bouchon D'en Face with our staff party and had our menus all sorted our. Great job on handling such a massive group so well. I enjoyed my stay (I'm sure we all did) and the food we got served.
I had the steak tartare and the codfish as the fish of the day.
I hope to visit the restaurant again in my own time with my partner.

Everything was perfect. We ate burgers and they were delicious. I really recommend the avocado burger. Great selection of beers too. We ordered the burgers as medium, but you can also choose large. We recently visited and encountered very unpleasant experience. Upon receiving our order, we found a hair in the food(looks like ball hair💀) When we brought this to the staff’s attention, they responded with a dismissive “Oh, okay” and did not even offer an apology. Tried a traditional Maastricht dish: Maastrichts zuurvlees, sweet and sour beef stew. It’s an interesting dish and was quite filling with fries and salad. Since the sauce is sweet, it was too much to eat.

They are in a great location and have outdoor seating. The staff were very efficient and polite. The food was excellent. I got the French onion soup and the carpaccio sandwich. The French onion soup was probably the best I've ever had. The carpaccio was also good but needed a little something else, maybe just salt. My husband got the satay(?) Chicken and it was super delicious. Definitely would return.

The service is probably the friendliest around Maastricht. The entire place is nicely decorated and the winter garden provides great light throughout the day.
We took the 3 course menu which starts with a selection of appetizers. We had both the bream and the tagliata as main and we can only recommend both.
Finally the dessert offered a cheese platter or homemade ice cream. Thumbs up for both again.

We recently visited a solid Italian restaurant in Maastricht and overall had a pleasant experience. The food was good – nothing groundbreaking, but definitely delicious and well-prepared. Each course offered a nice variation, from antipasti to dessert, which kept the meal interesting. However, the portion sizes were a bit on the small side. That said, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and recognized details without needing to be asked, which added a lot to the dining experience. Their professionalism and warm attitude really made us feel welcome. Food is mediocre, nothing special or impressive. The dessert is particularly nice though. The beef is a bit over cooked and rough. The ravioli is a rather bland. The time between courses are very long, we spent about 3.5 hours to finish a 4 courses meal!!!

From the moment you walk in you feel the Italian generiosity. The staff speaks Italian amongst each other, joking and bantering, adding to the atmosphere. We chose the 5 course "surprise" edition, after ticking off some dietary/allergen questions (none in our case).
Portion size was good for each serving and packed with flavour. Overall the food is of high quality and cooked wel. The recommended winepairing (from the affordable subset of the extensive winelist) matched perfectly with the flavours on the plate and our own preference.
We spend our entire evening there, with a decent (slow) pacing of courses.
You need to make a downpayment upon making a reservation; about 15€/pp; which is settled with the bill.

If you are looking for an extensive continental breakfast this place will not disappoint. Croissants, french bread, wholegrain are served with omelet or sunny side up eggs, cheese, ham jams, butter and a generous portion of salad and fruits. Bubbles are optional but orange juice and coffee/tea included.

We had our graduation dinner of my daughter, it's a fab meal top class all fresh ingredients and authentic taste of truffle, the wines selections are good a bit pricy but it's worth a bottle. Ambience is great warm and cozy the corner spot is perfect for 4 people's. Absolutely recommendable.

The Bar Kitchen Hotel De la Bourse is a charming hotel located in the heart of Maastricht, close to the market square. I stayed over the weekend and had a one person room. The size of the room was fully okay, and it looked like it was modernized. I had my own bathroom with shower and toilet. The hotel was really central and even though it was lively during the nights I had a chance to get a good night sleep. I took one star off, because when I enter my room was ice cold and it smelled funky throughout the hallway to my room. If you stay at their hotel you get a 15% at their restaurant downstairs.
Basic Rooms for a short stay right in the heart of Maastricht. Located on top of a brasserie (you check in via the brasserie counter and you enter the rooms via an elevator connecting the brasserie to the upper rooms area- a bit of kitchen smell in the corridors but not in the rooms) -no room keys are provided, instead you receive an email with a web link with a lock/unlock option for your room, which is great for tech savvy people and if your phone battery doesn’t die in the middle of the night or after a late night fun. The soundproofing of the rooms is somewhat problematic if you are a light sleeper.
Comfortable soft mattress, fairly clean bathroom with hair/body/hands soap and a couple of cupboards/shelves for basic storage. Windows with views straight in the piazza of Maastricht and plenty of natural light/air.
Excellent service from the staff of the brasserie. Super polite and willing to help you with all your questions/needs e.g. storing your luggage after check out.
Recommend for a basic stay
I have been a couple of times in the restaurant of the hotel De la Bourse. It is good, food is mostly inspired by French cuisine. Steak yesterday was tasty ajd soft. Sometimes, you have to wait a little too long between courses.
Unbeatable location behind the Town Hall. Parking on external facilities. Good WiFi.
Breakfast is not worth the eleven Euro.
Access to the rooms a little complicated. Room was small, but tidy and comfortable. A pub downstairs gave some noisy atmosphere at night.
The hotel is in the centre, has a wonderful panoramic view. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a balcony in my room. The breakfast is very good, there is a cafe & restaurant at the hotel. I would like to stay here again.
I stay at the De la Bourse for 3 nights it's location on the edge of the market square and a 3 minutes walk to Vrijthof square makes it an ideal base for the André Rieu concert venue and other tourist attractions Our Lady Bascilla river cruises and main shopping streets. 15 minutes from the main train station.
Staff were all exceptional, my flight was delayed and I arrived at the hotel at 01.00 in the morning. So the digital keys, room and outside were a godsend.
Food was excellent breakfast lunch or dinner. Must have pie desserts which were heavenly.

I can see why this place no longer has a Michelin Star. Although the courtyard setting is wonderful, and the food is OK (not great, but not bad), I felt mis-treated. In spite of ordering a six-course tasting menu, plus extra caviar and a wine pairing, I felt rushed out of the restaurant so that the staff could eat before the next shift. That's not how someone at a top restaurant expects to be treated. I have also eaten at Beluga and Tout a Fait on this trip, and both were wonderful. I had previously eaten at Au Coin, in its better years, and the comparison is not favorable. I will never go back. Customers need to be appreciated.

This was amazing! The food quality and the staff have been great.
The concept at the all-you-can-eat is simple. Each table gets a card. You have 5 rounds to order food. Each round each person can choose 2 Sushi plates ( 4 sushi pieces each) and 3 dishes.(Tapas or small dishes) Once they are served the food you can fill in the next round and they prepare it fresh for you. The price is 25€ per person. Drinks not included. We went 3 rounds and each and every item we choosed has been so wonderful. The taste, the quality and the amount have been just perfect. As soon as there was an empty plate one of the waiters came and cleaned our table. All of them have been super friendly and helpful. 100% recommend that restaurant for the all-you-can-eat.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is good. It's cool that you have not only Asian food but also a few other options. So, it’s not just sushi; you have different choices.
However, the variety is lacking for an Asian cuisine restaurant. Another issue is that you can order 4 dishes per person, and after that, you need to wait 15 minutes. They bring the food quickly, but then you wait another 10 minutes. Some of the portions are also very small.
The good part is that the food and ingredients are fresh and tasty. However, paying for all-you-can-eat and spending 2.5 hours mostly waiting is not worth it. it

Extremely disappointed. My parents came to visit for Easter and we went out for coffee. We sat down here just because they were the only place with free seats (for a reason). We said we would like to wait to my parents for two minutes and the employee super impolite said we cannot wait and keep the table (they had 10+ empty seats). Then she nervously kept coming when my parents were sitting down like they have to order the moment they sit down. And then she made us a note for a bottle of water we had at the table. And finally, made us pay the moment we got our drinks. It sounds like not much but I went out to spend money and enjoy. Not to be stressed by weird personnel that doesn’t know how to treat clients. I would not come here again or ever recommend it.
Bad quality. I don't like the ordering sistema since you have to wait 15 min to order another 5 tapas. Some dishes were not good. Very very expensive.
I had a great experience, but they refused to give a glass of tapwater to my girlfriend, even though we ordered several drinks and a bottle of prosecco. Insisting we spend 8.90 euros on a bottle of water. I find that absolutely unbelievable.

Rustic cafe in the very historic square of Maastricht (Amorsplien). Great selection of beer . The staff is very friendly and they have very good knowledge in beer and gives you great suggestions based on your taste or preferences . The terrace is also nice on a good summer day or when the weather is nice.

A star is missing because they don't have an English written menu which will be good to add having into consideration that tourists or expats might not know Dutch and they can take a little bit too long to bring the food. But other than that, I totally recommend it !!

Rumors was the 1st restaurant I dined in at my trip to Maastricht and I had a great experience:
+ Service is super friendly and fast.
+ Food and drinks are very delicious and on point (I had the smoked salmon sandwich and a Pornstar Martini with Prosecco).
+ Atmosphere is very relaxing. You can sit inside or outside at the terrace between beautiful architecture.
+ Decoration looks very lovely with the flower in the gin bottle.

I ordered a Hamburger but it was totally rare like a rare steak! I couldn’t eat it at all! The taste was awful! The dish had chips with parsley as sides and it was terrible too! The staff were friendly but I will never go there anymore!
I came to the Rumors Bar for an Old Fashioned, and this was made to perfection. Brenda made the syrup from scratch and ground in the sugar with the Bourbon, 10/10.
My second drink wasn't on the menu, a Manhattan, and this was perfectly made.
Disappointing service, sat down and ordered a meals and sides with non alcoholic soft drinks. Waitress then refused to give any tap water citing this was only given to those having alcohol and that to have tap water we would first need to have an alcoholic beverage! What a joke! Avoid! Explains why they had empty tables and others didn’t. Plenty of other fabulous places to eat in Maastricht no need to waste time with this one, plan ahead and book in to avoid places like this- we wish we had! - try Wyk End for example

The space is very cozy and has a better display on the back. (Try to get on of those seats). It’s always very busy, so don’t take to much to order, otherwise it’s gonna take a long time to arrive. We asked for Expresso Martinis first, then wine, and beers. The martinis were unbelievable! Truly recommend for pre-drinks.

I love coming here for cocktails and some bar snacks. My favorites are definitely the peach sour (which I have yet to find a better one) and the fried eggplants with honey. I am not familiar with the dinner menu but it is nice to also sit on the terrace when the weather is good.

I'd had onion soup and zuurvlees a couple of times. Since it was good we took our guests there right after the carnaval. However it was a big disappointment. The onions in the onion soup was cut so big and they were not well cooked. Zuurvlees was too sweet and the clove taste was too strong unlike the previous times. I ordered salad with smoked chicken. It was too salty. The food was nothing like the previous times. It's a shame that I gave such a bad experience to my guests.

Good place to try the Zuurvlees dish (typical in Maastricht), and all dishes come with fries. Onion soup as entrée was very good, but if you don’t eat a lot then it’s better to share.
Wonderful little "eetcafe". Atmosphere is great, you can stay for a while, have a drink (coffee, all sorts of beer or softdrinks).
The food is very good for good and fair prices. Typical limburgish/netherlands food, especially the onion soup - a must! The staff is allways friendly and fast.
So if you like these little restaurants away from the main ones, you will be happy with this.

Café 't Pothuiske is a great place to spend a relaxed day. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The location is perfect for people who want to be near the river.
On a sunny afternoon, we found an outdoor seat at Café 't Pothuiske and were immediately struck by the friendly atmosphere. The staff were not only welcoming but also had an amazing sense of humor, which added to the overall charm of the place. The service was prompt, and we truly enjoyed our time there.
One small hiccup during our visit was that we ordered a portion of pulled pork nachos, which unfortunately didn’t arrive even after waiting for 40 minutes. However, we understand that it was a busy time, and it’s possible that the order was simply overlooked. Despite this, it didn’t diminish the overall positive experience we had at the café.

The beers are great! They got an assortment for all kinds of beer lovers from classic beers to fruitbeers and all sort of craft beers both from the tap as bottled. The only reason I can't give them a full 5 star review is that they don't have vegan food options. But even so the service was great the personal are knowledgeable and polite, fast service and a smile that seems genuine. Great view of the Maas as well and a calm and homey atmosphere the place to go if you just want to enjoy a good beer without that much noise that you often have with places in a big city.

Absolutely everything in this was divine, the French toast was particularly good.
To end off our morning we had lovely mimosas.

Great spot to grab some delicious lunch or breakfast. The food was very good and the prices were fairly decent for Maastricht standards. We loved the attention to detail such as the freshly baked mini cakes near our coffee. It took some time for our table to get served in the beginning but everything went smoothly after the initial interaction. They also have a bakery with great looking cakes so I would definitely check them out if in the area and in need of some sweets or a nice meal.

One of my favourite cafes in Maastricht! The coffee is really good, the ambience is lovely, calm vibes. A good spot for working as well. I can really recommend the chocolate chip cookies and the banana bread!!

Really good coffee and other drinks. Not only the quality of the coffee and matcha etc but the baristas do such a good job at the latte art. Prices are honestly really good for such good coffee. Very friendly and nice staff and a refreshing and nice place to sit.
They changed bakery and the cheesecake portion size has suddenly halved while the price has remained the same. It also doesn’t taste as good. The addition of a tip screen (10-15-20%) seems out of place and unnecessary in the Netherlands.
Toilet was dirty while the shop was empty. Staff was sat scrolling on their phones behind the counter.
I loved the bikes & coffee concept this shop has.
Make sure to rummage the 50% off box. I found a V60 coffee dripper for a very decent deal.
I've always been a fan of the quality of their coffee and their service. I usually go with my partner and we order a cappuccino or a regular coffee, but it was 30°C so I ordered an iced americano but was asked "Is cold brew fine?" And though I said yes, I assumed they asked me this because an iced Americano isn't a thing but apparently it's out of sheer laziness because the barista was going on a break (not clear at that point, but there was another barista and it's not their place to change a customer's order, anyway). Regardless, I was interested in their cold brew and though I was satisfied with my drink, which was, of course, more expensive than a regular americano, when I tried to pay I was told in pretty condescending/rude manner to look at the screen and select an appropriate tip. For what, being a smug, lazy barista? For putting some ice cubes into my cup and pouring cold brew that she probably didn't make herself? So selecting '0' apparently meant she wasn't going to hand me my drink, but instead she made a big show of going on a break, leaving my drink for her colleague to hand it to me instead. Whatever, until a barista demonstrates excellent service and doesn't try to change my order without even an explanation, the tipping culture can stay in America. Props to the other baristas who've served us in the past, they're not the problem.
I ordered an americano coffee and a lemonade. The coffee was 3.2 and the lemonade was around 4. I was surprised as the americano was much smaller than the average capuchino, and the lemonade tasted like plain water with a few drops of syrope. Couldnt even taste the lemon to be honest. The ambience was very cool, and as a cyclist, its cool to find cycling friendly caffes here! Would not return for the food or drinks thought…

Grenzeloos is a great new restaurant in Maastricht with delicious coffee and grilled cheese sandwiches. The fake news sandwich is especially yummy! There's plenty of room to sit, work or relax, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
They have great food at reasonable prices. The service is good except for the occasional language barrier with the employees, but it is quite understandable when we think about their mission. I just wish their opening hours had a bigger range.

I’ve only been inside, which is light and spacious with beautiful plants and plenty of room to sit. In case you need to get some work done, there is free WiFi and multiple power outlets available to plug in your device.
Good coffee drinks and tasty toasted sandwiches. The atmosphere is cosy and warm, and the staff were very friendly. The café is well located too, just off of the market square in the city centre of Maastricht, and in front of a bus stop. Just note that it is currently not open on Sundays, if you're planning to drop by on a Sunday shopping trip ;-)
Best toasties in town. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for having a small break during Saturday's market and have lunch. Totally recommended.

We visited on a trip for breakfast and were delighted by the location and atmosphere. The menu is small, but well though out and brings with it a feel of the mission of the restaurant. The social and integration goal of restaurant is worth supporting and the service is first class.

Café De Pieter is a small, charming artist's café located in Maastricht. It offers a diverse and lively atmosphere, where patrons can enjoy dancing on the small dance floor, sipping on beer and wine at the bar or wooden tables, and engaging in spirited conversations.
This place was fantastic on a sunny afternoon. We sat outside across from the city, the old city wall built around 1280. The server was fantastic. He was hilarious knew his beer and food. I would definitely suggest giving it a shot.

This place is beautiful, set against a lovely old stone wall with a charming atmosphere. It’s the kind of spot you want to linger in.
Unfortunately, the owner/lady's attitude makes that difficult. We were planing on eating here but she seemed annoyed by our presence, and gave off a strong “you’re not welcome” feeling.
A real shame, the location deserves better hospitality.

Amazing bar on beautiful narrow side street. Worth the short walk from the city centre. Can order drinks at the bar or be table served.
Had the best coffie in the whole town, it was reasonably priced and it's super cozy inside. They play all the good music, mainly Rock'n'Roll, Rock, Pop, Alternative, Psychedelic Rock from the 60-70s, maybe also some Rock Classics from the 80s. Great belgian beers, also.

This bagel spot in Maastricht is definitely worth a visit! I tried the chicken and peanut bagel – a unique combination that started off nice but became a bit overwhelming for me halfway through, as the peanut butter was too much for my taste. Delicious food , but i didn’t like the sens of hospitality that much . i was sitting somewhere there but then i asked to change the table to be able to charge my phone . the servant said yes but then she didn’t clean the table before she let me sit there . i sit anyway but i thought when she is going to bring my food she would see it . she did but she out the food and went away . i end up eatting on a dirty table . she came back and asked me if i finished and took only my plate again and still left it that way .
I like the bagels but i won’t be coming again because this shows that this place is not that clean !!
I decided to have lunch here during my visit to Maastricht and really loved the place. The overall atmosphere is really nice and cozy, the staff is super friendly. The carpaccio and salmon bagels tasted good as well. I loved a broad choice of food and drinks and a fact that the menu's were in both Dutch and English :)
I’d been planning to try the salmon bagel at this place for a while, and it turned out to be an incredibly pleasant surprise! €15 for a delicious bagel and a latte sounds like a great deal to me. I can definitely recommend it.
Visited Bagels & Beans for the lunch - it was full of guests. However, we were served very quickly. Nice choice of fancy food - vegan, interesting, and exotic combinations of ingredients in salads and bagels. Loved the drinks, both cold and hot - homemade cocktails, mushroom coffee, and golden coconut milk. The atmosphere is very friendly and pleasant, the interior is spacy and full of light. Heartily recommended.

Located on the Vrijthof in Maastricht, Café In Den Ouden Vogelstruys is one of the oldest and most renowned cafes in the Netherlands. It has been serving meals since the 14th century and is a must-visit spot when in Maastricht. The café offers traditional local specialties such as chunky bloedworst (blood sausage) and zoervleis, a sweet and sour beef casserole.
Started off outside for a couple of beers before our dinenr reservation inside. The customer service was great. Inside we ordered the house white wine which was very good. I went with the 3 course meal. The steak tartar was huge and delicious. Then the steak was perfectly cooked followed by the cream burlee. Good spot for a date night or with friends.

We asked for tap water and they charged us 9€ for it. When we asked about it they told us that we didn’t order tap water. Even thought the water was in a carafe and not in a proper closed bottle. When argued about it the manager’s argument was that the he was a law student. Absolutely horrible service, very rude people and overall bad experience after the incident.
Nice spot! The Croque Madame and Caesar salad were delicious, and the service was fast.

The Grand Café de Perroen is a great place to visit if you're looking for a great cup of coffee and some delicious pizza. The service is always friendly and the people who work there are passionate about their food, making sure you leave with a great taste in your mouth.
My all-time favorite terrace in Maastricht. This place definitely has the best coffee in town, and I have tried probably every coffee place/terrace in Maastricht. Great location, there is usually place to sit down since it’s not located in the busiest area of the Vrijthof. Their ‘zuurvlees’ is to die for, I always take my family here when they visit since they have that local touch.
