Italian restaurant
Nestled within the historic walls of a 14th-century courthouse, Trattoria Flora offers a unique dining experience that beautifully marries history with culinary delight. Once serving as a judicial hub in Merano, this charming eatery has transformed into a stylish Italian restaurant-bar renowned for its grilled dishes and small plates. Guests can savor homemade pasta crafted from top-quality regional and Venetian ingredients while enjoying the warm ambiance of this atmospheric locale.
Very nice athmosphere! We really enjoyed this restaurant and had some good food with the burger and the rabbit. Totally worthwhile!

Food is good, but not the best in the town. Music was playing too loudly to the point both of us got headache. Service is very nice.
E — Google review
the taste of their food was impeccable though the service could have been a bit faster. great place to dine in merano with a limited though excellent menu
Hams P — Google review
The food here was really excellent, as well as the service. If I could, I would give it 6 stars. The aquarium on the floor downstairs is pretty interesting. Prices are fair. Strongly recommended.
Rafał T — Google review
Went on a Wednesday evening, no reservation required, very good service. Tasty wine, incredible food; we had the Italian tapas, parmigiana aubergine and salmon (today's special). Polite staff and intimate atmosphere
Ana O — Google review
Amazing food, great quality, good service! Definitely try the pasta Ragout with some local red wine. Cute atmosphere, you’re sitting in a basement of the building which gives proper throwback vibes back into the history.
Jennifer L — Google review
We went there with a group of 8. People are friendly, Service is great. The food however was definitely below average. Everything we had was very bland, we expected so much more. The interior feels somewhat dated and oldschool, not in a charming way, but I guess that's the vibe and some people like mid 2000 interior style and nostalgia on the wall. Prices are reasonable.

We are there twice and both times the food was excellent. The service was efficient and fast. Would totally come again ❤️

Pizzeria Ristorante Gaston is a hidden gem located in an arcade, offering amazing thin and crispy crust pizzas with fresh toppings that catapult you into flavor paradise. The menu includes a variety of pizzas to suit everyone's taste. The service staff are friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant also offers delicious desserts like Apfelstrudel and Tiramisu.
Food is great and the staff are so friendly, we basically had our every meal here during our staying in town, cannot be disappointed, highly recommend!
Isio — Google review
Mixed salad we shared was nice , Pizza and Gnocchi with Steinpilz sauce was delicious . For dessert we had a Tiramisu, it was home made and it was delicious 😋. The service staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice to see serving staff with a smile 😃. It can be very busy, so I recommend to book. The selection of Pizzas are amazing, they have something for everyone's taste 😋
Rainer O — Google review
The restaurant is very special. The pizza was the most delicious we've ever had, and the staff was very friendly. We also ordered other dishes like spaghetti and salad, and they were excellent as well."

The food, service, and overall atmosphere were wonderful, and the restaurant staff were extremely respectful and friendly. I highly recommend anyone visiting Merano to try this restaurant.
FSH — Google review
Probably one of the true Italian restaurants you can visit in Merano - had a good pizza and certainly good service. The Tiramisu was simply amazing, got to remember the Italian cuisine has some very good desserts as well. Recommended.
Javier T — Google review
The place was the only one we could find to accommodate five people during prime dinner time. Once seated the friendly waitress took our orders right away - no wait there. One of us ordered a pizza which came about five minutes later and tasted quite good. Unfortunately, the others had to wait much longer for their food. Three of us had the Knödel Tris and were happy enough to finally get our teeth into something when they finally arrived. The different tastes of the three dumplings were not clearly discernible but overall they were OK - I definitely had better ones before. Atmosphere is not great since the place is located within a shopping arcade and there's nothing to make it cozy when you sit outside. Inside didn't look much better. Value for money is OK - as we found out averages for Meran.
Stefan W — Google review
Best pizza place in town. Only visited this one today and a couple years ago, but there’s no chance to top it. 👍😉 Great tasting Pizza and very friendly service.
Werner ( — Google review
This felt professional, and i mean the food and the service. The location ok, when its warm and you want to sit outside ... its in a hallway, can be windy, its not quiet. The inside was cozy but i understand everyone who doesnt want to sit there when it has 30+ celsius. I had the forest pizza which was delicious, as was the pasta dish (dont remember wich one). Just a place where i'd love to come back!

Pizza restaurant
La Smorfia Merano is a family-run pizzeria that offers a taste of the south in Alto Adige with its fluffy-crusted, Neapolitan-style pizzas. The trattoria provides creative antipasti, pasta, and cocktails in an airy, modern space with a terrace. It's known for its superlative versions of classic pizzas as well as inventive takes like the Contadina and Ragutella.
When you are looking for Neapolitan style pizza, this is your place in Meran. Not too far away from the city center, about 5 minutes by foot, you can have the full Italian pizza experience. On the menu you can find the standards and also some unique pizza creations. If you are there in winter, I would recommend to sit a bit away from the restaurant’s door. They have some regional wines on the menu. Didn’t amaze me, but good enough along the pizza.
Max W — Google review
Traditional thin crust Pizza. Ordered an expensive vegetarian pizza but there was not much on it. Pretty empty. Taste was ok. Service was good.
Adil Z — Google review
This was one of the sadest service performances I've had in years. The lady forgot dishes and drinks, served them with a delay of five minutes and we've had the feeling, that she doesn't really understands us... The food was okayish, entries were creative but not really good, but the pizzas were fine. The place looks hip and all, but that's in the end it.
Fabian P — Google review
Not so far from the town center, a unique restaurant with roots far away at napoli... The food is great and the service is very nice and helpful. Parking at the garage below the commercial center for 1.6eur/h.

The pizza was amazing, can highly recommend. A bit slow on the ordering since there seemed to be only one waitress able to take orders. In general very happy, will visit next time in Meran as well!

Römerkeller Meran is a restaurant located in the heart of Merano, offering a diverse menu that caters to various tastes. The vaulted cellar provides a charming ambiance for enjoying Italian pizza, South Tyrolean specialties, and Mediterranean dishes. Guests can also savor regional delicacies and steakhouse items. The establishment's thin-crust pizza has garnered acclaim for its exceptional quality.
I recently went to Roemerkeller it had an amazing atmosphere and friendly staff. The place felt cozy and welcoming right from the start. The staff was very nice and helpful, always checking in to make sure I was happy with my meal. They even gave some good suggestions from the menu. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience, and I would definitely recommend it!

We had a large group reservation in preparation for a wedding. The staff was incredibly polite and the service was top tier. The food was amazing. The options were a bit daunting since the menu was at least 14 pages, but there was something for everyone's taste.
Kailyn F — Google review
We went to the Römerkeller in Meran and we were impressed with the gorgeous seating area downstairs. A nice wine cellar feeling to it. This restaurant offers a range of food, from typical Italian, to steak house type items, as well as the local regional specialties. Our party dipped into all of those food categories and everything was perfect and tasted great. The interesting thing though was the pizza. Their pizza here has to be on a short list for the thinnest pizza crust in all of Italy. I've been all over the country and have never seen it thinner than here. Hands down... Anyway, their pizza was excellent, despite less dough :) I really loved it. I Highly recommend this restaurant. Their servers are very friendly and the service, wow, really fast. We did not wait long for any of our courses. Look this place up if you are in Meran.
Don F — Google review
Delicious food and they have gluten free but service is a little slow I ordered pizza and waited for 30 minutes to receive my order
Ahmad N — Google review
This place used to be our favourite restaurant. Unfortunately yesterday we found the food and the service was not the same quality as we knew. The service was very slow. My partner has ordered a pizza - and it took a while to deliver. Also, when we wanted to pay and ask for the bills, it also took a while.
Ya T — Google review
The food is delicious. Bruschetta with burrata and the pizza where absolutely great. The staff was friendly and quick. And the drinks are on point. Highly recommend!
Oliver M — Google review
Decent food, though the famous Mezzelune (Schlutzkrapfen) are made from frozen food (you can taste it and it's mentioned on the menu that they use frozen food). And the waitress' attitude towards customers can be improved: eating out at a restaurant is meant to be a pleasant experience, no one enjoys being sassed by a grumpy waitress. It just kills the mood!

Bar Bistro Seven is a charming restaurant located in the heart of Merano, offering a blend of Italian and Tyrolean cuisine. Guests can dine in the chic interior adorned with black-and-white photos or opt for an al fresco experience under the portico on the bustling shopping street. The historic dining room boasts beautifully renovated vaults, creating a unique atmosphere for enjoying classic Tyrolean dishes and traditional Italian fare prepared fresh daily.
The spinach gnocchi with truffles were the most excellent food I ever had. Every bite was a taste bubble popping on the tongue. It was awesome. For desert, we had the chocolate cake with ice cream. The cake was warm and with chocolate cream filling, and the ice cream was a super tasty self-made hazelnut ice cream. It was a brilliant meal, which obviously kosts its price. And since they make everything fresh, you need a bit of patience waiting for your food.

We had dinner here and it was amazing. Great service with a smile. We had the lamb and we could not stop saying how good it was. Cooked perfectly and the presentation was so beautiful. Great dinning experience. Would return again and again.

In the morning, nice spot for a good cappuccino. At lunch, while not cheap, good high quality bites and marvelous view for people watching. Dinner offer is more akin to fine dining with very tasty multiple courses. I've recommended this spot to evey friend visiting the area and have only gotten good feedback. Highly recommend

Great food, very refined, lovely presentation, a relaxed environment and excellent staff. We ordered a first course and second course each - luckily the waitress advised to have a smaller version of the first courses, and even so we struggled to finish our mains, and we shared a dessert just because they looked so nice. Lovely homemade pasta, excellent beef, and the ice cream with our dessert was one of best fruit ice-cream I've ever had. If in Merano, I'd highly recommend it 👌

We just loved this place- so much that we returned a second night during our three-night stay in Merano. The people here really know what they are doing- arrivals are greeted quickly, the courtyard ambiance is both cozy and airy, service is professional and kind, the food arrives promptly and was nicely presented and flavorful. Tables are efficiently cleared and new guests welcomed. Highly recommend - try to get reservations by emailing or stopping by. The restaurant fills quickly (though you can wait in the bar for tables that turn over at a reasonable pace).

Wonderful experience, great service and excellent food, the rooms are very clean and have everything you need, the rooms even come with a terrace which is rare enough for any hotel but is especially unique when paired with the great view of the mountain side. The staff is very kind and extremely helpful, they always wear a smile and a cheerful attitude, a well and truly comfortable stay... Not to mention the food is astronomical.

We liked cleanliness and access to undeground garage (extra 10 eur). Beds are pretty comfortable. Disliked · Condition of the bathroom is very poor, some elements are even dangerouns (shower seat, see photos). Room equpement is very basic, as is choice of foor for breakfast (there was no salad at all). TV is very small. Bathroom doors cannot be fully closed. Rooms oriented at Via Scuderia are VERY noisy. For 150 euros for 2 per night this is unacceptable.

A festively laid table and garland above it. Thank you! I also asked weather they had a gluten free desert which they could bring with some candles after the main course. Turns out they did not. Rooms are ok. The breakfast is great - authentic italian salami. The road and train is too close to leave the windows open in our room. From the stairways a lot of noisr during our one night stay. When I arrived, things were not going well for me. I had left a backpack containing passports on the train to Bolzano. I had little idea of the best way to proceed to try and recover it. At the Hotel Cavallino, Dirk was at the reception desk. I asked him if he could help. Initially, he did not seem to have any good ideas either, but after a few minutes, he was on the phone. After a 15-minute conversation, he told me that the backpack had been located and I could go back to Bolzano to meet an incoming train and reclaim it. He had also arranged for me to meet the police at the station to verify that the backpack was mine. His solution was flawless. I was very happy and very impressed with the effort he made on our behalf. Thanks Dirk! Following that adventure, of course I would have a favorable opinion. But I can honestly say that our stay was very pleasant in every regard. The location was excellent. It is directly across the road from the Merano-Maia Bassa train station. There is a bus stop right at the hotel, and a bike path goes into Merano. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant fare was tasty. And, to an exceptional degree, the staff was friendly and helpful. Altogether, it was a great place to stay in Merano.

The food was good and acceptable, the service was a bit slow, but the atmosphere was nice and pleasant. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but I don’t think I would repeat the experience if I visit Italy again

I had high hopes for this place due to its nice ambience, but unfortunately, the service was severely lacking. The waiter displayed a slightly arrogant attitude, which left a sour taste in my mouth. The prices were rather expensive for the mediocre food that was served – nothing special and quite bland. The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable and I felt very unwelcome. Cant recommend considering how much better other restaurants in the area are.

A nice place to have dinner, but diabolical waiting times, we waited over an hour to get 4 pizza, and the ?owner was less than understanding. The pizza is good though and to sit outside on a warm summer night made the experience acceptable.

Octopus salad was very good, tender and flavorful. Grilled pork cooked a bit longer than the perfect state. Fried squid + prawns were tender but a bit greasy for me, and the “salad” with it was not salad, instead it was deep fried vegetables. I think people like deep fried fish will like this dish.

Decent food, good pizza, sometimes a little crowded.

I wanted to order a gluten free pizza But the 2 servers didn’t know What does it mean and told me that they don’t Cook gluten free pizzas there. Fortunately the owner of this restaurant was sitting there and helped me to order. At the end the server didn’t know who ordered the pizza So he was walking in counfusion and asking other costumers. The gluten free margherita was delicious But i have to Give only 4 stars Because of the staff.

Bistro
Pizzeria Happy Bistro in Meran is a small family-run restaurant with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Despite being located on a busy street, the service and food selection make up for any noise from passing cars. The restaurant offers a pleasant outdoor terrace with mountain views, perfect for enjoying some sunshine even on rainy days. The pizza is highly recommended, made with fresh ingredients and thin, delicious crust. Additionally, the cozy interior provides relief from hot weather with its air conditioning.

Friendly staff. All pizzas come in gluten-free versions. The pizza was delicious. The service was great. Not centrally located, but worth coming here.

We spent one month in Italy and this was the best pizza we had. Myself and my daughter had gluten free pizzas (thank you) as I am coeliac, and my husband and son had regular. They were all fantastic. Wish I could go back and dine there again but I am on the other side of the world. The staff were also very easy to interact with, especially when we don't speak Italian. Don't worry that it doesn't look fancy, go and enjoy the food!
